- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, so Courtney had a sleepover at her house
- 0:05Speaker 1: while her husband was out of town with a new friend,
- 0:06Speaker 1: and he was pissed. Allie, your thoughts?
- 0:11Speaker 2: Yeah, so I'm just wondering if Courtney's the one that
- 0:14Speaker 2: called in before that had said that she was evacuating
- 0:17Speaker 2: a country due to safety concerns, her husband's a pilot,
- 0:20Speaker 2: all of that stuff, and they were moving?
- 0:21Speaker 1: Yeah, that's her.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Yeah, so he's.
- 0:25Speaker 3: A pilot, whether he's a military pilot or.
- 0:27Speaker 2: A commercial pilot. He has to have certain security clearances
- 0:31Speaker 2: that other people don't necessarily have to have to be
- 0:34Speaker 2: able to fly aircraft safely. So I'm wondering if there's
- 0:37Speaker 2: an underlining issue there that's more so he's upset because
- 0:41Speaker 2: it could be a safety concern. I mean, he doesn't
- 0:43Speaker 2: know this person. This person lives in that country. Not
- 0:45Speaker 2: saying that people are bad in every country. However, you know,
- 0:49Speaker 2: sometimes people do become targets for certain things once they
- 0:52Speaker 2: find out something about a person.
- 0:54Speaker 4: He used to be in lockdown mode, so... Just having
- 0:57Speaker 4: somebody sleeping in his bed, he'd be like, whoa, what?
- 1:00Speaker 2: Right, so his fight or flight is just probably on
- 1:03Speaker 2: alert because they just literally had to evacuate another country
- 1:07Speaker 2: for safety.
- 1:08Speaker 1: That makes sense. You know what, guys? Both things can
- 1:11Speaker 1: be true. Just kidding. I don't know if that worked out.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Also, John Jay, my 13-year-old actually has a question for you.
- 1:20Speaker 2: She asked if she could ask you.
- 1:21Speaker 5: Sure.
- 1:23Speaker 1: How do I get.
- 1:25Speaker 6: Disney tickets.
- 1:25Speaker 7: Like, what's your tips and tricks?
- 1:28Speaker 8: Tips and tricks for Disney tickets, guys.
- 1:31Speaker 1: I got a great tip. Here's what you do, Leslie.
- 1:33Speaker 1: You take your phone in with you to school, put
- 1:35Speaker 1: an earpiece in, and you listen for the magic words
- 1:38Speaker 1: on the iHeart app or on Kiss FM. And we
- 1:41Speaker 1: give them out at 10.05. What time are you out
- 1:43Speaker 1: of school?
- 1:45Speaker 8: Three o'clock.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Okay, perfect. Then you listen for the magic words at 10.05, 11.05, 12.05, 1.05, 2.05.
- 1:48Speaker 1: You'll get five magic words. And then Monday, we'll ask
- 1:50Speaker 1: you to call in. That's your tip.
- 1:58Speaker 9: What about this morning?
- 1:59Speaker 1: Because when do we call?
- 2:01Speaker 2: Like, what's the best time to call?
- 2:02Speaker 1: Probably around 8, 8.02, 8.03, right around that. Yeah. Now,
- 2:06Speaker 1: another thing is you can have your mom do it
- 2:08Speaker 1: for you. Have her listen.
- 2:10Speaker 4: If she loves you, she'll win.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:12Speaker 6: I know.
- 2:13Speaker 4: That's why I called.
- 2:15Speaker 2: It, too.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Oh, she heard yesterday's. Okay, good. Well, call us back
- 2:19Speaker 1: in about 40 minutes. Good luck.
- 2:22Speaker 10: Okay.
- 2:22Speaker 1: The key is, though, to be listening to us. You
- 2:24Speaker 1: just can't call in. You got to listen when we
- 2:27Speaker 1: tell you to call in.
- 2:28Speaker 5: All right.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Leslie, your thoughts on the sleepover.
- 2:32Speaker 4: Hello.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Hello, Leslie.
- 2:34Speaker 5: Okay.
- 2:35Speaker 10: Hi. Yeah. So I saw a whole bunch of the
- 2:39Speaker 10: comments were like, well, if she's bisexual, then there's a problem.
- 2:42Speaker 10: There could be a problem for that. And I am
- 2:45Speaker 10: full on lesbian married to my wife. We've been together
- 2:49Speaker 10: for 16 years. And I've slept in beds with my
- 2:52Speaker 10: best friends because you know what? Just because I'm with
- 2:55Speaker 10: somebody with a vajayjay doesn't mean I want everybody with
- 2:58Speaker 10: a vajayjay.
- 2:58Speaker 5: Period.
- 3:00Speaker 4: I mean, that tracks, I guess.
- 3:02Speaker 8: Mic drop.
- 3:04Speaker 5: Sure.
- 3:06Speaker 10: I just, I can't control myself around women.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Whatever.
- 3:09Speaker 5: It's not the.
- 3:11Speaker 11: Way it is.
- 3:13Speaker 1: All right, Leslie. I wasn't expecting that point of view,
- 3:16Speaker 1: but thank you for bringing it.
- 3:17Speaker 4: It's a valid one.
- 3:19Speaker 10: It is.
- 3:19Speaker 1: It very much is.
- 3:21Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Thanks, Leslie.
- 3:23Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Have a great day.
- 3:25Speaker 10: You too.
- 3:26Speaker 1: So today is 9-11, September 11th, and we are going
- 3:29Speaker 1: to get into a special tribute probably around in about
- 3:35Speaker 1: 10 minutes after we play. What's the game we play?
- 3:38Speaker 4: Minute 20?
- 3:39Speaker 1: Yeah, Minute 20, after Minute 20. Yeah, and then we
- 3:41Speaker 1: got a special tribute in just a little bit. But first,
- 3:45Speaker 1: Arnold's got an opinion on the sleepover. Hold on a second.
- 3:53Speaker 1: What's up, Arnold? You're on the air.
- 3:56Speaker 9: Hey, good morning.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Morning. Go ahead.
- 4:01Speaker 5: What's up?
- 4:02Speaker 9: Oh, all right.
- 4:03Speaker 6: So, uh, yeah, no, there's a, there's a, you know,
- 4:06Speaker 6: an odd debate, you know, about that.
- 4:08Speaker 9: It's fine. If, uh, you know, if I guess in
- 4:12Speaker 9: my case, you know, my wife and, you know, another female,
- 4:15Speaker 9: you know, sleeps in the bed with them, you know,
- 4:16Speaker 9: opposed to me.
- 4:17Speaker 6: I don't really care.
- 4:18Speaker 9: Like I said, my situation is, uh, You know, my
- 4:20Speaker 9: wife's got a best friend that they've known since.
- 4:23Speaker 6: I knew my wife.
- 4:24Speaker 9: And, you know, every time they get together, you know,
- 4:27Speaker 9: they live out of town.
- 4:28Speaker 6: So they're separated. So whenever they're together, you know, they
- 4:32Speaker 6: have fun. And then, you know, usually they'll go out
- 4:35Speaker 6: or something. And the next thing you know, I'm probably
- 4:38Speaker 6: hanging out on the couch or something. Or maybe I'll
- 4:40Speaker 6: go and do something.
- 4:41Speaker 4: And then.
- 4:42Speaker 6: You know, they'll sleep on the bed, and I said, well,
- 4:43Speaker 6: there goes my spot.
- 4:45Speaker 9: Okay.
- 4:47Speaker 4: First, I thought you said your wife has a friend
- 4:50Speaker 4: come over and sleep next to you in the bed.
- 4:52Speaker 4: I'm like, well, that would be weird.
- 4:54Speaker 6: Oh, yeah, no, yeah, that wouldn't be, that would be,
- 4:56Speaker 6: I don't think she'll approve of that.
- 4:58Speaker 4: Yeah, I imagine not.
- 5:01Speaker 6: Yeah, so, yeah, usually that's what happens. It happened most recently.
- 5:04Speaker 9: You know, we went out to catch up, and then
- 5:07Speaker 9: they got, they left before I did from the bar,
- 5:10Speaker 9: and then when I got home, You know, my spot
- 5:13Speaker 9: was taken from the friend.
- 5:15Speaker 6: Like I said, they're like sisters. And I said, well,
- 5:17Speaker 6: I guess I got to go to the couch, you know.
- 5:19Speaker 6: It's pretty much there. But like I said, I don't care.
- 5:21Speaker 6: They're like sisters, you know.
- 5:23Speaker 7: Got it.
- 5:24Speaker 6: Ain't no funny business. It is how it is.
- 5:26Speaker 1: That's how it is. That's what we're talking about. Thanks, Arnold.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Thanks for listening. So it's 9-11. And I've been thinking
- 5:33Speaker 1: a lot about, this is random, but Noah, our very
- 5:35Speaker 1: own Noah, our audio ninja, you know, he was in
- 5:38Speaker 1: New York for the Harry Styles concert, and he's in
- 5:40Speaker 1: New York on 9-11. And I was thinking about, I
- 5:42Speaker 1: don't know how old Noah is. You guys know how
- 5:45Speaker 1: old Noah is?
- 5:46Speaker 9: 24?
- 5:46Speaker 5: Sure. 23, 24?
- 5:46Speaker 1: Right in that realm. He wasn't even born yet.
- 5:48Speaker 4: That's right.
- 5:49Speaker 1: He wasn't even born yet.
- 5:50Speaker 8: Yeah, because it's the 25th anniversary today.
- 5:53Speaker 1: And then I see this. The article says it's a
- 5:56Speaker 1: quarter of a century since the September 11th attacks. It's
- 6:00Speaker 1: hard to wrap your head around it if you're a boomer,
- 6:02Speaker 1: a Gen Xer, or an older millennial. You remember where
- 6:04Speaker 1: you were. But for others, like Noah, he wasn't even
- 6:06Speaker 1: born yet.
- 6:07Speaker 4: It's just got to be like World War II is
- 6:09Speaker 4: for us. You just care about it.
- 6:10Speaker 1: Here's a list of things that are actually more recent
- 6:13Speaker 1: than 9-11. Like the iPod. The iPod debuted in November
- 6:18Speaker 1: of 2001. Google News launched in September of 2002. Skype
- 6:24Speaker 1: started in 2003. LinkedIn in 2003. Gmail didn't start until 2004. Oh,
- 6:30Speaker 1: that's wild. Google Maps, February 2005. YouTube started in 2005. Podcast,
- 6:37Speaker 1: the term came common in 2004. Podcast was 2005's word
- 6:42Speaker 1: of the year. The iPhone debuted in 2007 and the
- 6:46Speaker 1: Android 2008. Tesla didn't even exist yet. It came out
- 6:50Speaker 1: in 2003 and neither did Uber. Uber came out in 2009.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Think about all these things that have happened since 9-11.
- 6:56Speaker 1: And all of those have changed the world. No Harry
- 6:59Speaker 1: Potter movies that hit theaters yet. No Lord of the
- 7:02Speaker 1: Rings movies that hit theaters yet. Elf is more recent
- 7:05Speaker 1: than 9-11. So is the first Pirates of the Caribbean,
- 7:08Speaker 1: The Notebook, Mean Girls, and The 40-Year-Old Virgin. Wow. No
- 7:11Speaker 1: one had heard of American Idol, The Office, or Lost
- 7:15Speaker 1: or Grey's Anatomy. Isn't that wild?
- 7:17Speaker 4: It is kind of wild.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Beyonce's solo career didn't start yet. Kanye West didn't put
- 7:22Speaker 1: out his first album until 2004, and Taylor Swift didn't
- 7:25Speaker 1: debut until 2006.
- 7:25Speaker 5: Wow.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Crocs didn't debut until 2002. Nintendo DS wasn't out until 2004.
- 7:31Speaker 1: The Wii didn't hit stores until 2006. No one said
- 7:34Speaker 1: selfie until 2002. Hashtag in 2007. Mansplaining in 2008. And
- 7:40Speaker 1: YOLO in 2011. So those are all things that are
- 7:44Speaker 1: older or younger than 9-11. And Noah Lashley is in
- 7:48Speaker 1: New York right now walking the streets. Noah, what's the
- 7:51Speaker 1: vibe there in New York City today?
- 7:54Speaker 10: I wasn't even born then.
- 7:56Speaker 5: That's my favorite thing ever. How old are you now?
- 8:01Speaker 10: 24?
- 8:01Speaker 9: 24.
- 8:01Speaker 5: I was almost born on 9-11. My mom had to
- 8:04Speaker 5: go in and get some emergency doctor visits to prevent
- 8:08Speaker 5: that from happening because I wasn't ready yet.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Oh, when is your birthday?
- 8:12Speaker 5: February 15th. I was supposed to be born in March.
- 8:14Speaker 5: I was almost born in September.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Oh, dang. So you being in New York City on 9-11,
- 8:19Speaker 1: can you tell? Like, I don't know if you were
- 8:22Speaker 1: there because I talked to him last night and I
- 8:24Speaker 1: was like, are you going to the memorial? And he said,
- 8:26Speaker 1: it's private.
- 8:29Speaker 4: It is.
- 8:29Speaker 5: They shut down pretty much all of lower Manhattan at
- 8:32Speaker 5: 10 o'clock last night. We got the last train out of,
- 8:35Speaker 5: we went down there, we went down to the one
- 8:37Speaker 5: world observatory and we went to the reflecting pools to
- 8:39Speaker 5: pay our respects. And they were doing TV interviews and
- 8:41Speaker 5: setting up big stages and whatnot. We got the last
- 8:44Speaker 5: train out of there at nine 55.
- 8:46Speaker 4: What's it feel like when you walk down there? It
- 8:50Speaker 4: is eerie.
- 8:51Speaker 5: You feel the pain in the air. Yesterday, it was
- 8:54Speaker 5: quiet and hearts were heavy. Today, the same thing. But today,
- 8:59Speaker 5: the difference is I feel like you feel a lot
- 9:02Speaker 5: of the love and respect too. There's families, there's people
- 9:07Speaker 5: that flew in. We had a drink last night at
- 9:09Speaker 5: a bar with a firefighter from Vancouver who came to
- 9:12Speaker 5: just volunteer and help with the setup. And a whole
- 9:15Speaker 5: crowd formed and they shared memories and the bartender paid
- 9:18Speaker 5: for drinks.
- 9:19Speaker 1: And It was just really special. Well, I heard at
- 9:22Speaker 1: the memorial today, Obama's going to be there, Bush is
- 9:25Speaker 1: going to be there, Joe Biden's going to be there,
- 9:28Speaker 1: and Trump's going to be at the Pentagon. So New
- 9:30Speaker 1: York is that whole area. You know, when the president comes,
- 9:32Speaker 1: they probably shut that whole thing down. Oh, for sure.
- 9:34Speaker 1: And they're only letting the families, and they're going to
- 9:35Speaker 1: read every person's name that died.
- 9:37Speaker 4: Yeah, I think they did that this morning.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Oh, they already did this morning.
- 9:41Speaker 4: It's really interesting because we're going to play that tribute,
- 9:44Speaker 4: and it's really interesting, the ones that you hear. It
- 9:47Speaker 4: takes me right back to those moments for us in
- 9:50Speaker 4: the show because we had just started the John Jane
- 9:53Speaker 4: Ridge show months before, right? And we were kind of
- 9:58Speaker 4: planning shows when we started seeing the video and we're like, oh,
- 10:02Speaker 4: everything just changed right now. Everything is different.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Noah, when do you come home?
- 10:08Speaker 5: Today.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Well, thank you for reporting live from New York City.
- 10:13Speaker 5: Live from the streets of Manhattan.
- 10:17Speaker 8: Brave to be flying home.
- 10:18Speaker 4: From New York on today.
- 10:20Speaker 5: It is an interesting day to be flying home.
- 10:22Speaker 1: I will say that.
- 10:24Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 10:24Speaker 1: I also am getting on a plane today. Kind of scary.
- 10:27Speaker 1: But we should be fine. Thanks, Noah.
- 10:30Speaker 5: More power to you.
- 10:31Speaker 1: God bless.
- 10:32Speaker 4: Bye.
- 10:33Speaker 1: We need a contestant. We're going to play Minute to
- 10:37Speaker 1: Win at 877-937-1047. Wait for a contestant. By the way,
- 10:42Speaker 1: I found some video footage. This is so crazy that
- 10:46Speaker 1: I found it. And it was like when So 9-11 hit,
- 10:49Speaker 1: and then Rich and I immediately, like a day or
- 10:51Speaker 1: two later, we were on vacation. It was like our
- 10:53Speaker 1: first day of vacation. Yeah, we just canceled it. We
- 10:55Speaker 1: went back to the radio station, and we just stayed
- 10:57Speaker 1: on the air. And I mean, from like 7 a.m. until,
- 11:00Speaker 1: I don't know, days, we were like sleeping there and
- 11:02Speaker 1: doing whatever. And then we came up with the idea
- 11:04Speaker 1: to do this human flag. It was in Tucson. The
- 11:07Speaker 1: human flag came together on September 15th, and it was
- 11:10Speaker 1: just out of control. And I found video of all that.
- 11:13Speaker 11: Oh, that's cool.
- 11:14Speaker 1: So I'm putting it together. So I can post it
- 11:16Speaker 1: and you can see how crazy it was. We had
- 11:18Speaker 1: like 30,000 people show up at Tucson electric park and
- 11:21Speaker 1: it was madness, but it was beautiful madness. Yeah.
- 11:24Speaker 8: Because like nine 11, it was such like a shocking tragedy.
- 11:28Speaker 8: And then afterwards, like, I guess the rainbow after the
- 11:31Speaker 8: storm was like how united America was and how like
- 11:34Speaker 8: everyone wanted to just like help each other and be
- 11:36Speaker 8: there for each other and support one another.
- 11:38Speaker 4: Yeah. And also too, it's like the human flag, 30,000
- 11:41Speaker 4: people in that park that we did. It seemed like
- 11:43Speaker 4: it went pretty smoothly.
- 11:44Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. It was hot. The fire department
- 11:47Speaker 1: was there. We told people to bring a white shirt,
- 11:50Speaker 1: a blue shirt, and a red shirt. And then we
- 11:52Speaker 1: were like, okay, we got this many people can be white.
- 11:54Speaker 1: This many people can be red. And we put together
- 11:56Speaker 1: this flag, and it kept getting bigger and bigger and bigger.
- 11:59Speaker 1: And I'll post the video up. What's interesting about the
- 12:01Speaker 1: video is 25 years ago, Rich looks the same. I
- 12:04Speaker 1: look totally different. You sound different. I was hearing the
- 12:07Speaker 1: clip this morning. I'm like, who's that talking? John Jay's like,
- 12:10Speaker 1: that's me. I'm like, why do you sound so different?
- 12:12Speaker 1: I'm like, because I was a child. Yeah. It's all
- 12:15Speaker 1: grown up now. My hair is bleached blonde. It was like,
- 12:18Speaker 1: it was so.
- 12:19Speaker 4: Which was popular at the time.
- 12:22Speaker 1: So I'll be posting that on my Instagram at John
- 12:24Speaker 1: Jay Van Ness in just a little bit. Also, if
- 12:26Speaker 1: you missed War of the Roses yesterday, if you go
- 12:28Speaker 1: to our Instagram, John Jay and Rich, you can type
- 12:30Speaker 1: in the word roses. We'll send it to you directly
- 12:32Speaker 1: to your phone. It is now time to play minute
- 12:35Speaker 1: to win it. We got $ 1, 000 of Pat Hickey's money.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Pat Hickey's the owner and the general manager of Peoria Ford.
- 12:40Speaker 1: He called me yesterday. He's going in today. Let's say
- 12:42Speaker 1: prayer for Pat. He's going in for a full-body MRI
- 12:44Speaker 1: at Simon Med today. And he asked me if he
- 12:47Speaker 1: had to do the enema. Did you tell him yes,
- 12:50Speaker 1: I hope? I should have. I should have.
- 12:53Speaker 4: Can't go in there without an enema.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Hi, Stephanie.
- 12:56Speaker 4: Hi.
- 12:57Speaker 1: What are you doing? Where are you right now?
- 13:00Speaker 2: I just dropped my kids off at school.
- 13:02Speaker 1: And where are you? We got a cell phone.
- 13:05Speaker 2: I am actually parked in the park outside of their school.
- 13:08Speaker 1: What part of town?
- 13:12Speaker 12: We're out in like East Mesa.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Oh, okay, good. I just need a visual of where
- 13:16Speaker 1: you are. All right. Is there somebody in the car with.
- 13:18Speaker 10: You or by yourself?
- 13:20Speaker 2: I'm by myself.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Okay.
- 13:23Speaker 4: Oh, you got to.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Turn down the radio a little bit. Turn down the
- 13:25Speaker 1: radio just a little bit because I can hear myself
- 13:28Speaker 1: asking you questions.
- 13:28Speaker 4: Yeah, it's going to confuse you when it's game time.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Right, right, right. So, okay. Are you ready?
- 13:32Speaker 10: I think so.
- 13:34Speaker 4: Yes, I am. 60 seconds on the clock. $ 1, 000 can
- 13:43Speaker 4: be yours. Okay, Stephanie, let's go. What artist is famous
- 13:46Speaker 4: for her songs, I Kissed a Girl, Hot and Cold,
- 13:49Speaker 4: and Firework?
- 13:51Speaker 12: Katy Perry.
- 13:53Speaker 4: Jeff Bezos is the founder of what company?
- 14:03Speaker 10: Oh, my God.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Why am I having such a brain fart?
- 14:06Speaker 4: One of the richest guys in the world, Jeff Bezos.
- 14:09Speaker 4: What company did he found? Still works there. Oh.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Oh.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Amazon.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Duh.
- 14:23Speaker 4: Which winter sport involves sliding stones on ice towards a target?
- 14:27Speaker 1: Shuffle.
- 14:31Speaker 4: I'm sorry. Say it again. Shuffleboard.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Oh, no, Stephanie.
- 14:39Speaker 4: Struggle on that one. That was curling.
- 14:41Speaker 5: Curling.
- 14:41Speaker 4: Looking for curling.
- 14:42Speaker 10: Curling.
- 14:43Speaker 12: That's it.
- 14:45Speaker 11: Thank you.
- 14:46Speaker 4: It is like a giant shuffleboard, though. It is, but
- 14:49Speaker 4: that is not the right answer.
- 14:50Speaker 10: I know.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Shuffleboard is what they should call it.
- 14:53Speaker 4: Yeah, ice shuffleboard would be great.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Well, Stephanie.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Awesome.
- 14:58Speaker 1: I can't believe you stumbled on Jeff Bezos at Amazon.
- 15:00Speaker 1: That's a tough one.
- 15:01Speaker 12: When the pressure is on.
- 15:03Speaker 6: I know, right?
- 15:04Speaker 1: The good news is for you, we have a new
- 15:06Speaker 1: partnership with Del Taco. So you're going to get a
- 15:09Speaker 1: Del Taco gift card.
- 15:11Speaker 3: Oh, awesome.
- 15:13Speaker 1: All right, so congratulations. Well, thank you.
- 15:14Speaker 2: I appreciate it.
- 15:16Speaker 1: You got it. Thank you for listening. Thank you very
- 15:18Speaker 1: much for listening. Hold on. It's time for our 9-11 tribute.
- 15:23Speaker 11: This just into our newsroom, a plane has crashed into
- 15:27Speaker 11: the World Trade Center.
- 15:28Speaker 4: Another plane just hit the World Trade Center.
- 15:30Speaker 10: Two planes have smashed into the tower's minutes apart.
- 15:33Speaker 5: This plane flew directly into the second World Trade Center.
- 15:37Speaker 11: We now have reports of a fire at the Pentagon.
- 15:40Speaker 6: I just watched a plane crash near the Pentagon.
- 15:42Speaker 9: Oh, my God.
- 15:44Speaker 5: The entire World Trade Center, the South Building just fell,
- 15:47Speaker 5: just crumbled from the top.
- 15:48Speaker 1: The building just disappeared in the smoke. A large plane
- 15:52Speaker 1: crashes in western Pennsylvania.
- 15:54Speaker 11: If this is indeed connected to what has happened here
- 15:57Speaker 11: this morning, it is quite clear that the United States
- 15:59Speaker 11: is under attack.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 16:01Speaker 4: The second building appears to have gone down.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Yes, you're absolutely right. The second building that has gone down.
- 16:06Speaker 11: A situation that started bad just gets worse and worse
- 16:11Speaker 11: and worse. Clearly, we're in the middle of the worst
- 16:13Speaker 11: ever act of terrorism directed at the United States on
- 16:17Speaker 11: domestic soil, and it may not be over.
- 16:20Speaker 4: Hi, are you there? Back?
- 16:23Speaker 6: Pick up, sweetie.
- 16:25Speaker 9: Okay, well, I just wanted to tell you I love you.
- 16:27Speaker 9: We're having a.
- 16:28Speaker 10: Little problem on the plane.
- 16:31Speaker 6: I want to tell you I love you.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Please tell my children that I love them very much.
- 16:35Speaker 9: And I'm so sorry, babe.
- 16:37Speaker 1: I hope to be able to see your face again, baby.
- 16:41Speaker 11: Okay, Cindy, it's me.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Listen, there's been a major explosion at the World Trade Center.
- 16:45Speaker 1: We don't know if it's a plane hit us or what.
- 16:48Speaker 5: We're okay.
- 16:48Speaker 1: I'm still in the building.
- 16:49Speaker 10: We're evacuating now.
- 16:50Speaker 1: I don't know if I'll be heading straight.
- 16:52Speaker 11: Home or what.
- 16:55Speaker 4: But I'm okay. We're trying to get groups together now
- 16:58Speaker 4: and get down all the stairs and get out of
- 16:59Speaker 4: the building.
- 17:01Speaker 11: She didn't run.
- 17:02Speaker 5: No.
- 17:02Speaker 11: Who expected a second plane?
- 17:07Speaker 8: She put everybody first.
- 17:09Speaker 7: She didn't run because she helped other people.
- 17:14Speaker 4: Today is Patriot Day.
- 17:16Speaker 1: I'm a patriot.
- 17:17Speaker 4: Patriot Day.
- 17:18Speaker 1: I'm a patriot.
- 17:19Speaker 4: We will never forget 9-11.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Just a note to always remember.
- 17:22Speaker 4: To always remember. To always remember. Patriot Day was actually
- 17:25Speaker 4: started one year after the attacks on America. Never forget.
- 17:29Speaker 4: It's a day of remembrance and unity. 9-11, Patriot Day.
- 17:33Speaker 1: A day we will never forget. 25 years ago. Unbelievable.
- 17:42Speaker 1: I just posted right now on my Instagram, and I'll
- 17:45Speaker 1: try to collab with everybody, but I was doing it
- 17:47Speaker 1: right now, of what we did 25 years ago in
- 17:51Speaker 1: Tucson with 30,000 people. It was crazy. So if you
- 17:55Speaker 1: go to John J. Rich, or I'm sorry, go to
- 17:57Speaker 1: my John J. Van S on Instagram, you can see it.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I'm telling you guys, when you watch this video, and Rich,
- 18:02Speaker 1: I don't think you've seen the video since we did it, right?
- 18:05Speaker 4: I don't believe so, no.
- 18:06Speaker 9: It's crazy.
- 18:06Speaker 4: I heard you listening to it, and of course, it
- 18:09Speaker 4: feels like yesterday, but I have not seen it.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Good morning, Jen. You're on the air.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Good morning.
- 18:17Speaker 8: Oh, my gosh.
- 18:18Speaker 7: That tribute was so heartfelt and so moving and necessary
- 18:23Speaker 7: and needed for today. I love it, and I wanted
- 18:27Speaker 7: to make sure you guys knew that, and I really, really,
- 18:29Speaker 7: really wanted to see if it was okay to acknowledge
- 18:35Speaker 7: and put on the radio my best friend. Can I
- 18:39Speaker 7: give a shout-out to my best friend?
- 18:40Speaker 1: Sure.
- 18:43Speaker 7: My best friend, Sarah, is one of the most thoughtful
- 18:49Speaker 7: and caring people in the whole world, and she.
- 18:55Speaker 7: Makes a difference in so many people's lives and I
- 18:58Speaker 7: just I wanted to give a special shout out to
- 19:01Speaker 7: her today everybody needs a little love and I wanted
- 19:05Speaker 7: to make sure I gave her a little and it
- 19:07Speaker 7: was on the radio okay we understand and you know
- 19:14Speaker 7: she's just she uh sorry I know I'm just I
- 19:19Speaker 7: wouldn't be where I am without her today okay.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Well thank you Jen I'm sure Sarah was like on
- 19:24Speaker 1: tower two maybe No?
- 19:27Speaker 3: What?
- 19:27Speaker 1: Has nothing to do with 9-11, Sarah? She's just out
- 19:30Speaker 1: there making a difference.
- 19:31Speaker 8: No, I feel like a day like today just makes
- 19:33Speaker 8: you remember that you have to tell your loved ones
- 19:36Speaker 8: you love them when you're here.
- 19:36Speaker 4: That's true. Because that's what you hear in that tribute
- 19:39Speaker 4: when you hear people calling from the building and saying, hey,
- 19:41Speaker 4: I don't know if I'm coming home.
- 19:42Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 19:43Speaker 4: I don't know, but I love you. It makes you think,
- 19:46Speaker 4: you just don't know when your last minute is.
- 19:48Speaker 1: And we should do that all the time.
- 19:49Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Good morning. You're on the air.
- 19:52Speaker 10: Hi, good morning.
- 19:53Speaker 12: So I just messaged your team. Sorry, I'm a little
- 20:00Speaker 12: bit emotional today. My dad, he was a fireman my
- 20:05Speaker 12: whole life. He's retired now. I'm from Denver, and he
- 20:08Speaker 12: led the team of volunteers from Denver that went to
- 20:13Speaker 12: the 9-11 cleanup.
- 20:16Speaker 5: He actually.
- 20:19Speaker 12: Led the team when they were coming back from the return.
- 20:22Speaker 12: I'm the youngest of six girls in my family, and
- 20:25Speaker 12: there was a photo that the news crew took of
- 20:30Speaker 12: me and two of my sisters running up to my
- 20:32Speaker 12: dad that was posted on the front of the Denver
- 20:35Speaker 12: Post when um, they returned from the cleanup.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Wow.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Dang.
- 20:40Speaker 4: How's your dad's health? Did he, is he one of
- 20:42Speaker 4: those people that suffered from all the, that toxic air
- 20:45Speaker 4: or is he okay?
- 20:47Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 20:48Speaker 12: Um, so he developed emphysema from, from being at the
- 20:52Speaker 12: cleanup and then some of his close buddies, um, have
- 20:56Speaker 12: passed away from cancer that they, uh, developed from the
- 21:01Speaker 12: cleanup as well. Um, as long as, or as well as, uh,
- 21:06Speaker 12: PTSD and a whole bunch of stuff. So I just
- 21:12Speaker 12: wanted to get on the air and just think about
- 21:16Speaker 12: my dog. I just wanted to thank all of the
- 21:18Speaker 12: volunteers and everybody that we're thinking about today that helped
- 21:23Speaker 12: with that. And we're involved in that.
- 21:24Speaker 10: All right.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Well, thank you for calling. Thanks for listening.
- 21:29Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 21:29Speaker 12: Thank you.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Man, that's wild. So many people participated in helping me.
- 21:34Speaker 1: I remember that was such a crazy time. So crazy.
- 21:37Speaker 1: I can't believe that was 25 years ago. That's what
- 21:38Speaker 1: blows me away. 25 years ago. Okay, I'm going to
- 21:43Speaker 1: shift gears. I'm going to make a total right turn here.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Are you ready? Yeah. We got Kanye West tickets. Chance
- 21:52Speaker 1: the Rapper tickets. Wait, hold on a second. We got
- 21:58Speaker 1: tickets to Disneyland online in about 20 minutes. And we
- 22:02Speaker 1: are going to get into What Aaron Rodgers did yesterday
- 22:07Speaker 1: was all over the place. That's crazy. Hold on. Roxy,
- 22:09Speaker 1: go ahead. You're on the air.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Hi, good morning, guys. I listen to you guys every day.
- 22:15Speaker 10: Happy Friday.
- 22:15Speaker 3: I just wanted to thank you for the amazing tribute
- 22:20Speaker 3: that you played. I was driving to work right now
- 22:23Speaker 3: and I'm just in tears. Just thinking about, I mean,
- 22:28Speaker 3: you know, of course, every year we remember you. But
- 22:31Speaker 3: for some reason, like, listening to that tribute and listening
- 22:35Speaker 3: to those voicemails just really hit me because it took
- 22:38Speaker 3: me back to when it happened. I was on my
- 22:42Speaker 3: way to work. I worked for the county in Orange
- 22:45Speaker 3: Probation Department, and I was only 19. And I was like,
- 22:48Speaker 3: what is going on, you know? And got to work.
- 22:52Speaker 3: Everyone was, like, just everything was chaotic at the office.
- 22:55Speaker 3: And it just took me back there. And just hearing...
- 22:59Speaker 3: Hearing all those voicemails and everything that happened, it just
- 23:03Speaker 3: really hit me hard this morning, just remembering all of them.
- 23:07Speaker 3: So thank you so much for playing that. And I
- 23:11Speaker 3: am going to go to your Instagram and check out
- 23:15Speaker 3: the human flag you did in Tucson. That sounds really awesome.
- 23:20Speaker 3: I just wanted to share that.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Well, thank you, Roxy. Thanks for listening.
- 23:26Speaker 3: Thank you so much. Oh, one last thing, John Jay.
- 23:29Speaker 3: The last person gave a shout out to their friend.
- 23:32Speaker 3: If I could just please give a shout out to
- 23:34Speaker 3: my best friend, Erica, who listens to you guys faithfully too.
- 23:38Speaker 3: Happy Friday, sis. Love you.
- 23:40Speaker 1: All right.
- 23:41Speaker 3: Have a great day, everyone.
- 23:42Speaker 5: You too. So sweet.
- 23:43Speaker 1: On Instagram, John Jay Van Ness, you can see the
- 23:47Speaker 1: video of us putting together the human flag 25 years ago.
- 23:50Speaker 1: It was crazy. So John Jay Van Ness on Instagram.
