- 0:18Speaker 2: All right, allrighty, welcome back to the Son of a
- 0:27Speaker 2: Boy Dad podcast.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Today.
- 0:28Speaker 2: It is January twelfth, it is one fifty pm and
- 0:34Speaker 2: we are here live from HQ Treys. Welcome back to
- 0:40Speaker 2: the podcast and when we want to start off today's
- 0:44Speaker 2: episode by congratulating Amy Poehler on winning Podcaster of the Year.
- 0:51Speaker 2: What an accomplished. After only forty five episodes of her show,
- 0:55Speaker 2: she managed to become the number one podcaster in the world.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Rats, I just.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Had the Yeah, that pissed me off.
- 1:05Speaker 2: The competition was brutal this year too, Amy Pohlar, SmartLess,
- 1:11Speaker 2: I like SmartLess, Dax Shepherd and that was really it.
- 1:15Speaker 2: That was all So Alex wasn't Alex flex Cooper was
- 1:19Speaker 2: in there.
- 1:19Speaker 1: But it pissed me off because it's just the most
- 1:24Speaker 1: Hollywood things. It's so dumb, the fact that they're like,
- 1:28Speaker 1: obviously podcasts are eating into the piece of the pie
- 1:32Speaker 1: that movies and TV used to take up, and so
- 1:35Speaker 1: Hollywood giving the award, they're like, they're you're so clear
- 1:39Speaker 1: that their mindset's like, well, like only one of us
- 1:42Speaker 1: could have been the best. Yeah, exactly, we're the old
- 1:45Speaker 1: I could have actually been. It fucking pissed me off so.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Badly, dude, I was looking. I looked at all the
- 1:51Speaker 2: nominees this morning. It's literally there's not a single nominee
- 1:54Speaker 2: that's not an A list celebrity like Alex Cooper is
- 1:57Speaker 2: the only I only got it out the mudd.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:01Speaker 1: That that fucking really like the fact that it's it's
- 2:04Speaker 1: just all former actor, is that? And at least if
- 2:06Speaker 1: you're gonna do that, give it to uh like Conan O'Brien,
- 2:09Speaker 1: Like his.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Show wasn't nominated.
- 2:11Speaker 1: His show is funny, and it's like a similar It's
- 2:14Speaker 1: like what Amy Poehlers and her show is good. It's fine,
- 2:17Speaker 1: it's fine, but it's also like she is just like,
- 2:19Speaker 1: we got a great show for you guys today.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Also it's she's gonna quit it in a year.
- 2:24Speaker 1: What was it like to be with this famous person?
- 2:26Speaker 1: It's like, that's the best podcast in the year.
- 2:29Speaker 2: None of the celebrity podcasts last because there's a zero
- 2:31Speaker 2: reason for them to do podcasts.
- 2:33Speaker 1: And zach Amika wasn't even nominated. It is crazy.
- 2:38Speaker 2: It's crazy, Like I'm not like a Rogan die Hard,
- 2:41Speaker 2: but it's crazy that he doesn't get nominated for that.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Shit is it though?
- 2:45Speaker 1: Because like it's obviously like a fuboo type award, I guess.
- 2:49Speaker 2: But it's like, dude, you it's literally the number one
- 2:52Speaker 2: show in the world and it's not close and they
- 2:55Speaker 2: just ignore like we do. They just completely like it,
- 2:57Speaker 2: just ignore him, like everyone's gonna be like, oh, yeah,
- 3:00Speaker 2: I guess Amy Poehler is the greatest podcaster in the world.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Right, and that's like the historical record now, like like
- 3:07Speaker 1: what about.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Like the like THEO Vaughn, Like his show's got to
- 3:10Speaker 2: be triple the numbers that she gets.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Or like any of the True crime women or like
- 3:15Speaker 1: the fucking like the super liberal or the super conservative. Yeah,
- 3:21Speaker 1: it's like crazy number.
- 3:22Speaker 2: Where's Jones on that list? Where's where's war Mode?
- 3:27Speaker 1: Bro?
- 3:28Speaker 2: Why is Warmode not on that?
- 3:30Speaker 1: Did this piss you off?
- 3:31Speaker 4: Equally?
- 3:32Speaker 2: Francis, I didn't know that happened. I just saw it
- 3:34Speaker 2: this morning. I think it's the first time they've ever
- 3:37Speaker 2: done it.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Yeah, it is, yeah, and they're like, of course, it's.
- 3:41Speaker 2: The same thing with the comedy specials. Though, when it's like, oh,
- 3:43Speaker 2: Ricky Gervais wins again, did anyone but did anyone watch
- 3:47Speaker 2: the special? Or or Carmichael or it's it's they just
- 3:52Speaker 2: rotate the same three people to win.
- 3:54Speaker 3: It, doesn't. It often go towards Wait a minute, though,
- 3:58Speaker 3: Louie won.
- 3:59Speaker 2: The Yeah he did, but that was years ago, okay,
- 4:03Speaker 2: And also that was.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right he did, but that was before he uh.
- 4:08Speaker 3: I was after. That was right after.
- 4:09Speaker 2: It was like a first album after. Really, yeah, it
- 4:12Speaker 2: was pretty surprising. It was pretty surprised by it. Yeah,
- 4:15Speaker 2: that's how good it was.
- 4:16Speaker 3: Though.
- 4:19Speaker 2: The Academy was like, I don't know what you guys
- 4:21Speaker 2: want us to do. Yeah, it's too damn funny.
- 4:27Speaker 1: You don't care what he did. Roman Polanski might be excommunicated.
- 4:32Speaker 1: This guy's good, This guy's fucking.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Hilariousist is just a phenomenon.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Yeah, it would. It deeply annoyed me. It's just I'm
- 4:44Speaker 1: just not like, I'm not precious about podcasting, but it
- 4:47Speaker 1: just like is so transparent. It's like this year in
- 4:50Speaker 1: the NFL they had the Offensive Lineman of the Year
- 4:52Speaker 1: award for the first time, and because of that, they're
- 4:55Speaker 1: gonna give it to like a legacy offensive lineman because
- 4:58Speaker 1: it's about the body of the work, because the first
- 5:00Speaker 1: award ever and you're giving it to a woman who's
- 5:04Speaker 1: just like we're saying thirty episodes.
- 5:07Speaker 2: In it's forty five.
- 5:08Speaker 3: I looked it up.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Oh that's an actual number. Yeah, yeah, that's crazy.
- 5:11Speaker 2: That was according to Google AI overview those, so it
- 5:14Speaker 2: could be closer to like two thousand episodes. They're consistently off.
- 5:19Speaker 3: By the way.
- 5:19Speaker 1: I listened to her, I binged it this morning just
- 5:22Speaker 1: to be like, because I don't want to hate on her.
- 5:23Speaker 2: No, it is good like polar either.
- 5:25Speaker 1: It's it's like she had Paltrow on, she had Hailey
- 5:28Speaker 1: Williams on. Those were all delightful. Are you a fan
- 5:31Speaker 1: of Hailey Williams?
- 5:34Speaker 3: Sure, it's I don't know why. It's funny to hear
- 5:36Speaker 3: you guys refer to these women by their last names.
- 5:43Speaker 3: Going to be on soon, you know, people.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Talk about guys by their first name, like Louis Shane Theo.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Yeah. True, But I also think it is a very
- 5:53Speaker 3: masculine practice to refer to men by their last names only.
- 5:56Speaker 3: It's almost like in a sports sense. Elie and so
- 6:00Speaker 3: do he hear it applied to.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Yeah, it is, Uh, yeah, I'm not. I'm not mad
- 6:09Speaker 2: about the podcasting thing either. I just think it's like,
- 6:11Speaker 2: if they're going to try to incorporate podcasting into this
- 6:15Speaker 2: award ceremony that's traditionally just mainstream media, I feel like
- 6:18Speaker 2: they've gotta you can't just box out everyone that got
- 6:22Speaker 2: podcasting to where it is like that's ridiculous, Like Amy
- 6:26Speaker 2: Pohler wasn't doing a podcast when fucking Joe Rogan and
- 6:29Speaker 2: KFC Radio we're doing a podcast, Like.
- 6:33Speaker 1: But next year it's going to be like Leo being like, yeah,
- 6:37Speaker 1: I be yeah, run, I'm surprised Barack Obama.
- 6:41Speaker 2: And that's literally the first thing I thought of when
- 6:45Speaker 2: I saw it.
- 6:46Speaker 3: What why does it Why does it necessarily need to
- 6:49Speaker 3: go to, as as Rone put it, legacy podcasters.
- 6:53Speaker 2: I don't think it has to be a legacy podcaster.
- 6:55Speaker 2: But I don't think people that are like really into podcasts,
- 6:58Speaker 2: that's not what they're listening to, Like they're not just
- 7:02Speaker 2: like throwing on SmartLess. Do you know anyone that listens
- 7:04Speaker 2: to SmartLess?
- 7:05Speaker 1: Yes?
- 7:05Speaker 3: I do, and I've listened to it, and it's fucking
- 7:08Speaker 3: hysterical I.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Don't know a single person except now one that listens
- 7:12Speaker 2: to SmartLess.
- 7:12Speaker 3: You know that podcast is very good, Yeah, but very good.
- 7:18Speaker 2: But there's other podcasts that are much better that are.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Now this is entirely subjective.
- 7:26Speaker 2: I don't think it's subjective. These are all podcasts that
- 7:28Speaker 2: are Hollywood celebrities that started them because podcasting had already
- 7:32Speaker 2: gotten big and it's like a cash.
- 7:35Speaker 3: Do you think that the people who built the world
- 7:38Speaker 3: need to be get it their flowers?
- 7:40Speaker 2: There's pod dude, there's like criteria. No, My criteria is
- 7:44Speaker 2: there's like twenty podcasts that could have been on that
- 7:46Speaker 2: list that aren't on that list.
- 7:47Speaker 3: And they specifically, they are podcasts that were made by
- 7:51Speaker 3: people who were in without having the Hollywood establishment behind.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Yes, dude, look at the charts those podcasts aren't.
- 7:58Speaker 3: That means that first of all. But there's Hollywood people
- 8:04Speaker 3: podcasting who are at the top of the charts.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Yes, Amy Poehler, Dak Shephard you just said with the stain,
- 8:10Speaker 2: but like mag and He's podcasts are bigger than Dak Shepherd.
- 8:14Speaker 3: But then, what is it a question of size of
- 8:17Speaker 3: audience or is it.
- 8:19Speaker 2: I think it's size of audience ngevity of the show.
- 8:22Speaker 3: I think this is your criteria, this is your award show.
- 8:25Speaker 2: I am understanding that, but their criteria is just someone
- 8:29Speaker 2: who's really famous, who's had who hasn't gotten in trouble
- 8:32Speaker 2: for their show yet.
- 8:33Speaker 3: And my my issue with that is that there are
- 8:36Speaker 3: people that are under that criteria who actually are putting
- 8:39Speaker 3: out a good podcast.
- 8:41Speaker 2: I'm not saying they're not putting out a good podcast.
- 8:43Speaker 2: Like I listened to the Always Sunny podcast when they
- 8:45Speaker 2: put it out, but it's not it's still I wouldn't.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Pay people or won this award because like she's lovely,
- 8:50Speaker 1: because she's Amy Pohler.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Yeah, listen, I don't even know that I disagree with
- 8:55Speaker 3: your Amy Poehler take. I just don't know that there's
- 8:57Speaker 3: a blanket indictment of all actors doing podcasts. I can't
- 9:02Speaker 3: necessarily subscribe to that because I've listened to some and
- 9:05Speaker 3: enjoyed them.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Yeah, they're great. I mean they're funny people. I'm not
- 9:09Speaker 2: surprised that, like they're good.
- 9:11Speaker 3: I haven't even listened to this. I would have thought,
- 9:14Speaker 3: how do you feel about the one that's done by
- 9:17Speaker 3: the two women who were on the Office.
- 9:20Speaker 2: I mean, I again, Like, I don't have a problem
- 9:22Speaker 2: with these people doing a podcast.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Would you put them under the category of Hollywood established Yeah, okay.
- 9:28Speaker 2: I mean their entire show is reacting to their show.
- 9:31Speaker 3: Oh is that all they talk about? Yes?
- 9:33Speaker 2: Yea, they just go down the episodes. This one was fun,
- 9:39Speaker 2: got it?
- 9:40Speaker 3: So yeah, I mean they do.
- 9:43Speaker 2: I'm not trying to like very high though.
- 9:45Speaker 1: It's just like it's like an insular internal like if
- 9:49Speaker 1: you're part of the world, you can get a chance
- 9:51Speaker 1: to win this award, and if you're not, you don't
- 9:54Speaker 1: even have a chance, and that's not fair.
- 9:59Speaker 2: I don't think like I again, I'm not trying to
- 10:01Speaker 2: like I'm not trying to like Gate Keith podcasting, like obviously,
- 10:05Speaker 2: like we got into podcasting late, like we weren't like
- 10:07Speaker 2: the pioneers of podcasts.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Feature yourself, Bro.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess me not, Roan, But uh, I still
- 10:14Speaker 2: think that, like there are podcasts that easily could have
- 10:17Speaker 2: been on that list that were clearly overshadowed because they're
- 10:20Speaker 2: not a list Hollywood stars.
- 10:22Speaker 3: Can I ask you a serious question, sure, do you
- 10:25Speaker 3: think that we are three deserve that or more than
- 10:30Speaker 3: Amy Poehler?
- 10:31Speaker 2: Absolutely not, That's not what I'm I'm not talking about
- 10:34Speaker 2: like our show and fucking realass podcast. I'm talking about
- 10:40Speaker 2: like THEO Vaughn and sant and.
- 10:43Speaker 1: And four play.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Yeah no, but seriously, like, why is part of my
- 10:49Speaker 2: take not considered for something like that they were like or.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Something like that, Like there's people who are It's not
- 10:56Speaker 1: real podcasts.
- 10:57Speaker 2: It's podcasts that are suggested on Apple when you open
- 11:00Speaker 2: the app. I think that, And it's like to see
- 11:02Speaker 2: you how to be a bad ass in twenty twenty six.
- 11:05Speaker 3: To see that you're frustrated by this sort of realization
- 11:09Speaker 3: that you know, barstool or extension of sort of are.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Not talking about talk about these shows that are.
- 11:15Speaker 3: You just said Barton my take, right, So, like I
- 11:18Speaker 3: I think that I have come to terms with the
- 11:21Speaker 3: fact that the establishment is not going to accept our
- 11:25Speaker 3: work here ever, Yeah, and therefore our currency is measured
- 11:29Speaker 3: in other ways. Well, we'll take the millions of dollars
- 11:31Speaker 3: of ad revenue instead of the fucking grammy or the thing.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's what I meanwar Yeah.
- 11:37Speaker 3: And that's fine. Then again, Netflix just signed you know,
- 11:41Speaker 3: so it is happening to some degree, but I don't know,
- 11:44Speaker 3: I don't do we really need to fucking put some
- 11:46Speaker 3: dumb golden statue on the mantle in order to feel
- 11:49Speaker 3: the measure of our work.
- 11:50Speaker 2: No, I don't think so. But I think the fact
- 11:51Speaker 2: that they're doing it and excluding all the people that
- 11:55Speaker 2: could be like, dude, there's no way you could tell
- 11:57Speaker 2: me that flagrant and this past weekend in Matt and
- 12:01Speaker 2: Shane and Rogan couldn't be on that list.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Of course, I'm not saying that. I'm just not surprised
- 12:06Speaker 3: that they aren't.
- 12:06Speaker 2: No, I'm not surprised you're surprised or.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Not, because it's it's Hollywood.
- 12:11Speaker 1: It's controversial, and that's my point in Hollywood.
- 12:13Speaker 3: Yeah, why Therefore, I've had my piece with that for
- 12:16Speaker 3: a long time. I was told years ago, years and
- 12:19Speaker 3: years and years ago. I'm talking like twenty seventeen, probably
- 12:24Speaker 3: when I submitted a writer's packet for some sitcom and
- 12:28Speaker 3: they literally said to me, like, dude, you're a straight
- 12:32Speaker 3: white male. There is no role for you to write
- 12:35Speaker 3: in any writer's room of any comedy room in Hollywood. Yeah,
- 12:39Speaker 3: And I was like yeah.
- 12:40Speaker 1: But also well, like on a bigger scale though, I'm
- 12:43Speaker 1: sorry to interrupt, but like that, like the writer's rooms
- 12:46Speaker 1: in Hollywood are getting smoked right now on a grand
- 12:49Speaker 1: scale by podcasting because they're realizing that, like I'm not
- 12:54Speaker 1: talking about this show or anything Barshall related, they're realizing
- 12:57Speaker 1: that normal people having a commonsation is better than what
- 13:03Speaker 1: the best writer could come up in the best like
- 13:06Speaker 1: scenario in their mind. Like they're getting smoked by just
- 13:10Speaker 1: like regular unscripted media.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I would agree.
- 13:16Speaker 3: Okay, sure, I don't. I don't really have a disagreement
- 13:20Speaker 3: with that. I don't even know why if I am.
- 13:22Speaker 3: I guess I'm just surprised to hear you guys be
- 13:25Speaker 3: frustrated by this.
- 13:26Speaker 2: I'm not.
- 13:26Speaker 1: I wouldn't say I've been I've known this.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I wouldn't say I'm going to be recognized or
- 13:32Speaker 3: admitted into the fucking cathedral.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's the same ship when last year
- 13:37Speaker 2: or two years ago in chain special didn't get nominated
- 13:40Speaker 2: for anything, and it was like, by far the biggest
- 13:42Speaker 2: special of the year. Yeah, but instead they nominated I'm just.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Pissed off from Matt Walsh.
- 13:50Speaker 2: You know, it's just like, I think, just get rid
- 13:53Speaker 2: of the war.
- 13:54Speaker 3: It's legacy media, right, protecting its dying markets. Yeah. Tim
- 14:00Speaker 3: Dillon talks about that's a good lot, and it's their
- 14:03Speaker 3: desperate attempt to cling to how they used to be
- 14:07Speaker 3: atop of the pile and they were the gatekeepers. Yeah,
- 14:09Speaker 3: but the fundamental truth is you look at like, you know,
- 14:13Speaker 3: the amount of money that Shane and Tim Dillon and
- 14:17Speaker 3: THEO make and it's like they're fine.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Then then then but it's not like Amy Pohler is
- 14:23Speaker 1: not making money. She's making money and collecting.
- 14:26Speaker 3: I don't think she's making money like them.
- 14:30Speaker 2: No, I don't either.
- 14:31Speaker 3: I don't think Amy she could.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Dude, her podcast is the ad the ad revenue, that's
- 14:38Speaker 2: just make it from a podcast. Then I'm really.
- 14:41Speaker 3: Then I'm confused because you told I'm going off the
- 14:45Speaker 3: fact that I'm assuming Amy Poehler's podcast does not have
- 14:47Speaker 3: anywhere near the listens of these.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Oh no it does. She's top four.
- 14:51Speaker 3: Didn't you just say that it didn't? I thought you just.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Know I was saying that those pods you said.
- 14:56Speaker 1: That those guys smoke. Dak Shepherd's show is what you
- 14:59Speaker 1: were saying.
- 15:01Speaker 2: Those guys, the guys that I was mentioning smoke. A
- 15:03Speaker 2: lot of the people on that on that thing. Amy
- 15:06Speaker 2: Polar's podcast does do very well. Oh, and so do SmartLess,
- 15:09Speaker 2: But so does again, so does Conan O'Brien. Just the
- 15:12Speaker 2: whole nomination list doesn't make sense. It's five of the
- 15:16Speaker 2: safest shows they can find.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Can we figure out who those actual nominees were? I'd
- 15:21Speaker 3: love to hear.
- 15:22Speaker 2: I think I got him right here, brother, probably my
- 15:24Speaker 2: last Google search.
- 15:27Speaker 3: Armchair expert, armed armchair expert, call her daddy good hang
- 15:33Speaker 3: with Amy Pohlar, Mel Robbins, SmartLess and NPR's Up First.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Like NPR's Up First, being in there is a slap
- 15:45Speaker 2: in the face to anyone who's ever recorded a podcast
- 15:49Speaker 2: to some degree. Bro, I listened to NPR's Up First.
- 15:52Speaker 2: That's not a podcast.
- 15:53Speaker 1: What is it?
- 15:54Speaker 2: It's fifteen minutes long a day. Yeah, yeah, and it's
- 15:57Speaker 2: them recapping the stories in the news.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:00Speaker 2: It's like it's like an automated It might be an AI.
- 16:03Speaker 3: Is enormously obviously.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like the biggest journal and so it's huge daily.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Yeah, Like that's crazy.
- 16:13Speaker 3: You know what, you know what deserves to be on there,
- 16:15Speaker 3: but maybe doesn't do enough episodes. Have you listened to Acquired?
- 16:19Speaker 2: Yes?
- 16:20Speaker 3: I have. Actually I recommended this earlier on the pod
- 16:22Speaker 3: I was listening to them again this morning on the
- 16:24Speaker 3: drive in. I mean, Acquired is one of the most
- 16:26Speaker 3: brilliant pieces of research podcast work. Yeah, it's hard to
- 16:31Speaker 3: even call it a podcast. Yeah, it's it's a four
- 16:34Speaker 3: hour you know, fucking book.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Yeah, just information like some Dan carl and Ship. Yeah yeah,
- 16:41Speaker 2: but they're all like first being on there is ridiculous.
- 16:44Speaker 2: I think you who's getting that award if they win
- 16:47Speaker 2: NPR Yeah, just not like there's one man behind that
- 16:51Speaker 2: the room, but.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Just rolls on. Yeah.
- 16:56Speaker 3: I think you are evaluating this ridiculous, irrelevant list of
- 17:02Speaker 3: nominees based on your own personal preferences for podcast.
- 17:05Speaker 2: I know what you're saying, but I don't even think
- 17:07Speaker 2: it's like and I get like, even if those other
- 17:10Speaker 2: people were nominated to Amy Poller probably still would have won.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Like there's no way that like Matt and Chane are
- 17:15Speaker 2: walking off with the Golden Globe in their hands, right,
- 17:18Speaker 2: But I still think that the list is bullshit. I
- 17:21Speaker 2: think they should They just shouldn't be an award if
- 17:23Speaker 2: they're not going to recognize actual podcasts, Like you can't
- 17:27Speaker 2: have a Top Podcast Award and not have Rogan nominated.
- 17:31Speaker 2: It's just not that's not possible.
- 17:32Speaker 3: Has he ever been? Is this the first year?
- 17:34Speaker 1: Yeah, the first.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Year, Like, that's just not real, Like you're you're excluding
- 17:38Speaker 2: the podcast that if you combined all of those shows
- 17:41Speaker 2: it would be one episode of his show.
- 17:43Speaker 3: I agree with that, and I'm not.
- 17:44Speaker 2: I'm not. I don't even listen to Rogan's podcast. I'm
- 17:46Speaker 2: just saying that's crazy.
- 17:48Speaker 3: Do you think it's a fair comparison to almost say that.
- 17:52Speaker 3: That's a bit like saying if you had a list
- 17:55Speaker 3: of the Best Picture nominees for the Oscars in a
- 17:59Speaker 3: year and like Top Gun Maverick was excluded, No, it's
- 18:03Speaker 3: like not didn't have credibility.
- 18:06Speaker 2: I was gonna say, like Avatar, the first Avatar, it'd
- 18:10Speaker 2: be like, well, yeah, we're just gonna skip that, and
- 18:12Speaker 2: you're like, isn't that like the highest earning movie ever?
- 18:15Speaker 3: And then instead it was like foreign you know, artsy
- 18:18Speaker 3: foreign films.
- 18:19Speaker 1: But these aren't artsy forms.
- 18:20Speaker 3: Now.
- 18:20Speaker 2: It would be like, instead it was like Knocked Up one. Yeah,
- 18:24Speaker 2: I like knocked Up. So it's a terrible example.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like if Taylor Swift wasn't nominated and yeah,
- 18:31Speaker 1: and she like did boku numbers and sold out a
- 18:36Speaker 1: ton of stuff, like obviously Taylor Swift's gonna be nominated
- 18:39Speaker 1: for everything that scale.
- 18:42Speaker 3: All right, you know what, I'm convinced.
- 18:44Speaker 1: No, I think it was good when you were when
- 18:45Speaker 1: you pushed the back against them, because it gave us something.
- 18:48Speaker 3: I wasn't entirely sure what your point was, but I
- 18:51Speaker 3: think we got there.
- 18:52Speaker 2: And uh, I think it's just the ignoring of like
- 18:56Speaker 2: the leaders of that specific industry.
- 18:59Speaker 1: My point is about arrogance of Hollywood, that it's just
- 19:02Speaker 1: like only, of course, like one of us is the best, Yeah,
- 19:07Speaker 1: after a year, be the best. Yeah, we just tried
- 19:10Speaker 1: and she just started. Can you imagine that?
- 19:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:14Speaker 1: The comparison I made was like if it's like if
- 19:17Speaker 1: Timothy Shallow may won Best like Rapper of the Year
- 19:20Speaker 1: award because he had like a good rap verse. But
- 19:24Speaker 1: it's like, well, like, obviously he's not the best rapper
- 19:28Speaker 1: in the year. Yeah, of course it must be him.
- 19:33Speaker 3: Bro.
- 19:34Speaker 2: First year of a podcast, too, fucking light work. That's
- 19:37Speaker 2: the easiest time to do a podcast.
- 19:39Speaker 1: You've never had any of your thoughts now.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Every time you go, you're like, oh, I guess I
- 19:42Speaker 2: have this story that I've never told anybody.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Year five she didn't even like I have.
- 19:48Speaker 2: Nothing to say. I'm out of experiences.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Also like not to be super super critical, but like
- 20:00Speaker 1: I'm listening to the Paltrow interview and it's like clunky,
- 20:04Speaker 1: like obvious cuts everywhere.
- 20:06Speaker 3: Yeah, of course, not pretty flowing.
- 20:08Speaker 1: It's just like a student film just chopped up, chopped
- 20:11Speaker 1: this disrespect.
- 20:12Speaker 2: It's disrespect to the craft.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Are there pods on that list that you actually yourself
- 20:17Speaker 3: do think are worthy of being on there?
- 20:20Speaker 2: I mean, I guess Alex Cooper's makes sense.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Mel Robins throws heat out there.
- 20:25Speaker 2: I've never listened to does Mel Robbins throw heat?
- 20:28Speaker 1: I mean it's like it's it's for like menopausal women
- 20:31Speaker 1: who need positivity in their life. But like I resonate with.
- 20:34Speaker 3: That has done a lot for me.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Yeah, let them is amazing. Yeah she's Yeah, she's a
- 20:43Speaker 1: postive bitch.
- 20:45Speaker 3: Not SmartLess, though, that's the one I think would deserve
- 20:48Speaker 3: to be on there.
- 20:49Speaker 2: No, I mean I mean SmartLess. I don't Again, I
- 20:51Speaker 2: don't think SmartLess doesn't deserve to be on there, because
- 20:54Speaker 2: it's charted as a top show for the last couple
- 20:56Speaker 2: of years. But my my thing, my thing, more so
- 21:00Speaker 2: just the people that weren't nominated. There was like what
- 21:03Speaker 2: was there four or five?
- 21:04Speaker 1: Like do ten?
- 21:06Speaker 2: Yeah, throw some love to the other shows that actually, I.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Mean they should do like a Spotify Podcasting awards, like
- 21:14Speaker 1: a Spotify Awards and just so you can go category
- 21:18Speaker 1: by category and actually like base it on what the
- 21:23Speaker 1: charts are and who's actually good and have people actually
- 21:27Speaker 1: chew on it. Yeaheah, Yeah, we got to host the
- 21:32Speaker 1: Spotify Awards.
- 21:33Speaker 2: That would be sick Spotify. I would I would love
- 21:37Speaker 2: to get intertwined with Spotify like they're always doing, like
- 21:41Speaker 2: like when they sent like I feel like if they
- 21:42Speaker 2: send you like a care package, it's like clean now slick.
- 21:48Speaker 3: Did you watch that show on the Origin story of Spotify. No,
- 21:52Speaker 3: it's really pretty solid. Check that out. I think it
- 21:54Speaker 3: was in Swedish or something. I wow, and I think
- 21:59Speaker 3: that they founders are Swedish or Dutch or something like that.
- 22:04Speaker 3: But it was on Hulu and it was a very
- 22:06Speaker 3: good show. The key for them from a tech perspective
- 22:10Speaker 3: was getting the latency period from when you started a
- 22:14Speaker 3: song on Spotify down to a number from when you
- 22:19Speaker 3: click the song to when it started that is unrecognizable
- 22:23Speaker 3: by the human brain. That's pretty cool because they would
- 22:25Speaker 3: have it like they got it down to like zero
- 22:27Speaker 3: point two seconds, and the founder was like not good enough, damn,
- 22:31Speaker 3: And they had to change everything.
- 22:33Speaker 2: That's crazy and like.
- 22:34Speaker 3: Build external servers and towers. Yeah, and spend billions of dollars.
- 22:39Speaker 3: I don't know how much, but in order to get
- 22:42Speaker 3: it to point one.
- 22:43Speaker 1: That's crazy and that's why they can't pay the artists.
- 22:50Speaker 2: But they just got the best interface the faces to
- 22:54Speaker 2: be solved. Now, Oh no, it's not. I saw something
- 22:57Speaker 2: the other day that was someone that was showing like
- 22:59Speaker 2: their payouts for song for like music, like it was
- 23:01Speaker 2: like a musician and it was like all like the
- 23:04Speaker 2: like Amazon, Apple, whatever, and like Spotify was the was
- 23:09Speaker 2: the least by like probably like one thousand.
- 23:13Speaker 3: So does that mean then that musicians now make all
- 23:16Speaker 3: of their money touring? I think so yeah?
- 23:18Speaker 1: Really yeah, if you can't tour your poor.
- 23:21Speaker 3: There's no money in owning you know, your masters or
- 23:27Speaker 3: selling songs streams.
- 23:28Speaker 2: I guess like you still get like record deals and
- 23:31Speaker 2: shit to like like where a record label will be
- 23:34Speaker 2: like if put out this album will pay you fifteen
- 23:36Speaker 2: million dollars.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Or I think that the there's a lot of money
- 23:41Speaker 1: in like hawk litigious attorneys when you own your masters
- 23:46Speaker 1: that will like sue for something like there's more money
- 23:50Speaker 1: in that.
- 23:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Yeah, that's where all the money is in its touring
- 23:54Speaker 2: and suing.
- 23:55Speaker 1: Yeah, it legitimately is. It makes so much more money
- 23:59Speaker 1: suing than people streaming your ship.
- 24:03Speaker 3: Get cord on Tuesday, Cleveland.
- 24:08Speaker 2: It's gonna be a good week.
- 24:12Speaker 3: That that thing from Ed Sheeran where he played because
- 24:16Speaker 3: they were suing him. It was Marvin Gaye's estate for
- 24:19Speaker 3: stealing the chord progression for one of his hits. And
- 24:22Speaker 3: then he went into the court and played all of
- 24:25Speaker 3: the songs that fit under that very basic chord.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Really, I didn't know that every song borrows.
- 24:31Speaker 3: From or that every basic chord progression, certainly in rock,
- 24:34Speaker 3: has been repeated.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Yeah, that's crazy I did that.
- 24:37Speaker 3: Yeah. What a way to demonstrate that point, To show
- 24:41Speaker 3: up in front of a judge with your fucking acoustic guitar.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, it has to be the best day of
- 24:46Speaker 1: some fat bailiff's life. It's cool, just like the worst
- 24:50Speaker 1: most soul sucking job. And then Ed Sheeron plays you
- 24:54Speaker 1: mash up Medley.
- 24:57Speaker 2: The greatest rock songs of all time by cheering.
- 25:02Speaker 1: Well, so thickets the court, Yeah at Sharon Rocks. I'm
- 25:06Speaker 1: surprised more more musical artists don't do podcasts. I feel
- 25:11Speaker 1: like that's a good way to make a bunch of
- 25:13Speaker 1: money fast.
- 25:14Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, I'm trying to think of any of that.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Do like guys like former rappers like Jadakiss and like
- 25:20Speaker 1: Fat Joe and shit Joe butten Big Yeah, but does
- 25:23Speaker 1: he does he still do a show his podcast?
- 25:26Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 25:27Speaker 1: What he does, it's it's that should have been up
- 25:30Speaker 1: for the award. That's like the biggest fucking.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Really, I don't think I've seen anything from Joe Budden.
- 25:35Speaker 1: Oh my god, it's amazing.
- 25:37Speaker 3: Yeah. I used to be a big Joe Butden hater.
- 25:40Speaker 2: That's like publicly I hated him.
- 25:43Speaker 3: I wouldn't do that.
- 25:44Speaker 1: Why, I don't know.
- 25:45Speaker 2: I don't remember. He had some dumb take about rap
- 25:48Speaker 2: a while ago and I was like probably like thirteen,
- 25:50Speaker 2: and I was like, this guy isn't know what he's
- 25:51Speaker 2: talking about. I think he I think he was super
- 25:55Speaker 2: anti SoundCloud rappers. And you're like, I love this, Yeah,
- 25:59Speaker 2: I love Cokee Methis. Yeah, I was big into sound
- 26:03Speaker 2: That was the worst music phase of my entire life.
- 26:06Speaker 2: He doesn't mean to like fucking Little Pump and Smoke
- 26:10Speaker 2: Purp and Yeah puh yah and Fat Nick and Ski Mask,
- 26:15Speaker 2: the Slump God, Xavier Wolf.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Do you know co Methazine the SoundCloud rapper is a
- 26:20Speaker 1: jazz trumpet player.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Now really glad he's using his talents elsewhere.
- 26:26Speaker 1: So yeah, it's so cool.
- 26:27Speaker 3: It might be an upgrade.
- 26:28Speaker 1: It's it's the most it's the coolest transition that anyone's
- 26:31Speaker 1: ever made.
- 26:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I was in I used to listen to a
- 26:34Speaker 2: little zan in the in the early days.
- 26:37Speaker 3: White kid. Yeah, the tear drop tattoo and dated.
- 26:40Speaker 1: Uh noah siris No, yeah, yeah.
- 26:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I wasn't. I wasn't a fan of him.
- 26:45Speaker 3: Then I did not approve it from whose way, just
- 26:49Speaker 3: for I don't know if he was headed in the
- 26:51Speaker 3: right direction. No, I don't think so. When you're seventeen
- 26:53Speaker 3: and you get face tattoos.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Yeah, weirdly, I actually think he was older than you'd think.
- 26:59Speaker 2: A little was really young. He's also Mexican, which is weird.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Not that it's weird to be Mexican, it was weird
- 27:07Speaker 2: because he looked extremely white.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Fucking weirdo.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Nothing wrong with being Mexican.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Greer just texted us and said that our podcast has
- 27:19Speaker 2: fifty percent Mexican listeners.
- 27:24Speaker 1: Hi, Corumba, that cannot be.
- 27:28Speaker 3: There is no way that that's true, No chance.
- 27:33Speaker 2: I swear to god.
- 27:34Speaker 3: You're saying that. What tell us the actual he said?
- 27:38Speaker 2: Half of the Son of a Boy Dad audience is
- 27:40Speaker 2: apparently Hispanic starting to question the valid abilidity of these numbers.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Ain'tus forty percent? Have you guys considered alternate Spanish broadcasts?
- 27:53Speaker 1: Oh my god, I can't believe that.
- 27:58Speaker 2: I feel like that's no Wayeah accurate?
- 28:01Speaker 3: Yea.
- 28:02Speaker 1: Mexican people are the only people that can speak and whistle.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Have you ever heard of a Mexican brother go?
- 28:10Speaker 3: No? But they That's what Leo was lauded for in
- 28:13Speaker 3: one battle after another.
- 28:15Speaker 1: I didn't see it.
- 28:16Speaker 3: I did, but I don't remember that part where he's
- 28:18Speaker 3: asking where which direction the truck went so that he
- 28:21Speaker 3: can try to what you do? He did the whistle
- 28:25Speaker 3: to these Mexican ombrace.
- 28:27Speaker 1: When you go, that means fuck you and your family. Really. Yeah,
- 28:33Speaker 1: if you ever hear a Mexican bro hitting you with that,
- 28:38Speaker 1: they're hit they're they're they're disrespecting you.
- 28:40Speaker 3: Interesting I also know that as the eleven o'clock chime
- 28:43Speaker 3: from the roofy throated warbler on the bird clock my
- 28:47Speaker 3: mom had in her study.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Clo had that same clock. Yeah, so you probably recognize
- 28:52Speaker 1: this one.
- 28:55Speaker 3: Canada, Canada, Canada, Canada. Yeah it is.
- 28:58Speaker 1: That's a class. Don't know any of these class You
- 29:01Speaker 1: don't know your bird calls.
- 29:02Speaker 2: IM not speaking whistle.
- 29:04Speaker 1: Unfortunately, because you're not like little Zan Bro now one
- 29:07Speaker 1: of our true Mexican brothers, you might be ice. Actually, Bro,
- 29:11Speaker 1: you might fucking be ice.
- 29:14Speaker 3: Harry. I wanted to ask your opinion on these shoes
- 29:17Speaker 3: that I'm wearing, these Solomons.
- 29:18Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I'm a big Solomon.
- 29:20Speaker 3: Yeah, are you? Yeah?
- 29:20Speaker 2: I love them.
- 29:21Speaker 3: Do you have a pair? No? But I like them, okay,
- 29:23Speaker 3: because I was thinking I might get you a pair.
- 29:25Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 29:25Speaker 2: I'm okay, I gotta.
- 29:26Speaker 3: Buy them for you unless I was sure.
- 29:28Speaker 2: You liked No, I got a great pair of sneakers.
- 29:32Speaker 3: I'm going to get them. Yeah, Well, I don't know how.
- 29:35Speaker 3: You gotta be careful with, Harry.
- 29:37Speaker 2: I had a boots person hit me up asking me
- 29:39Speaker 2: if I wanted boots. It was from the company that
- 29:42Speaker 2: you guys are always talking about Solomon. Now, the nice
- 29:45Speaker 2: those boots that you guys always.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Wear, the paraboots areas.
- 29:49Speaker 2: I don't know what they are, and you're always like
- 29:50Speaker 2: I wanted those but roan God, the.
- 29:52Speaker 3: Pair of boots.
- 29:53Speaker 2: Oh yeah they some pa.
- 29:57Speaker 3: Staying silent.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:59Speaker 3: I didn't to reply.
- 30:02Speaker 1: There's no way, I swear. There's no chance I swear.
- 30:07Speaker 2: They DM me on Instagram, and I thought about replying
- 30:10Speaker 2: just to come in with a nice pair of boots.
- 30:12Speaker 3: And Harry though if you let's just hypothetically Solomon's like
- 30:20Speaker 3: what color or would you would you wear all black?
- 30:23Speaker 3: All black?
- 30:24Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 30:24Speaker 3: Actually yeah, okay with a low top, probably the highest top. No,
- 30:29Speaker 3: you don't want.
- 30:29Speaker 2: The fattest tongue like I want, like you see if
- 30:32Speaker 2: you can get like customized ones where they throw an
- 30:34Speaker 2: osyrus tongue in there.
- 30:37Speaker 3: I know, come on, come on, I'm trying to ass tongue,
- 30:41Speaker 3: not trying to waste anyone's money here.
- 30:44Speaker 1: What about what about something like this, like it's super high.
- 30:48Speaker 3: He doesn't he won't put those on take too much
- 30:50Speaker 3: to get on on all but.
- 30:52Speaker 1: The Solomon's like something like THATY go on easy because
- 30:55Speaker 1: it's like a drawstring to pull them shut.
- 30:58Speaker 3: That's part of the reason why I know I love them.
- 31:00Speaker 2: But is there anything that goes higher than that? I mean,
- 31:04Speaker 2: these are up to now I'm looking to get like
- 31:06Speaker 2: mid calf.
- 31:07Speaker 3: He's looking for crampons.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, something that just kind of gets close to
- 31:11Speaker 2: the knee.
- 31:13Speaker 3: Something to wear for the fall.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Oh yeah, those are perfect for.
- 31:17Speaker 1: The kungou ice fall. It's perfect for the kungu ice fall.
- 31:21Speaker 3: Yeah, to traverse the ladders that you have to put
- 31:23Speaker 3: across the crevasses to look down.
- 31:26Speaker 2: I mean, those look nice.
- 31:29Speaker 3: We get it.
- 31:29Speaker 1: These look like a lady's we'll go.
- 31:31Speaker 3: We'll go together. You and I will go together to
- 31:33Speaker 3: the store. But you have to act surprise if you
- 31:36Speaker 3: if someone shows up with a gift for you of
- 31:38Speaker 3: a pair of solomons, because I have wanted to get
- 31:40Speaker 3: you a pair of solomons for a long time. Of course,
- 31:43Speaker 3: partially responsible for you buying the black Adidas sambas. I
- 31:48Speaker 3: had nothing wrong with the didn't like that color. You
- 31:51Speaker 3: wanted the whites.
- 31:51Speaker 2: I wanted the white bottoms.
- 31:54Speaker 3: Instead of the gum bottoms.
- 31:55Speaker 2: With some red bottoms or wait, no, is that what
- 31:58Speaker 2: I wanted?
- 31:58Speaker 3: You wanted white somba. Yeah, I think I frustrated they
- 32:01Speaker 3: didn't have them, but you said, fuck it all buy
- 32:03Speaker 3: these anyway.
- 32:04Speaker 2: And you've just wearing those new balances that were like
- 32:07Speaker 2: made me ten feet tall. I don't like being taller
- 32:10Speaker 2: than I am.
- 32:11Speaker 1: It's the only person to ever say that.
- 32:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't why just like being my hid?
- 32:18Speaker 1: What do you fucking Kevin Durant being comfortable? Listen yourself shorter, comfortable.
- 32:23Speaker 3: At my own hide. So all these are very comfortable
- 32:25Speaker 3: and for me that that Yeah, but that might be
- 32:29Speaker 3: a little too. It's a little close to like a
- 32:31Speaker 3: there's ones that are a little have a little more color.
- 32:33Speaker 1: A little flash splash of color.
- 32:35Speaker 3: I think we can go halfway between what he wants
- 32:37Speaker 3: and halfway between what we want to see him.
- 32:40Speaker 1: Yes, what we want for him, you know what we
- 32:42Speaker 1: want for him. We only want the best for our boy.
- 32:45Speaker 1: Like you're saying, like that, like a little bit of green.
- 32:48Speaker 3: More like a black one that has maybe sort of
- 32:51Speaker 3: a tag or something that's in like color that's in
- 32:54Speaker 3: that red yellow soft blue.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Yeah, really red yellow blue Solomon tag.
- 33:00Speaker 3: Yeah, the little thing there.
- 33:02Speaker 1: Should we talk to spoil him with that?
- 33:04Speaker 2: Should we talk some ball? I feel like it's only
- 33:06Speaker 2: it's only proper.
- 33:07Speaker 3: Sure, let's talk ball.
- 33:08Speaker 2: We got to get into it a little bit.
- 33:10Speaker 3: I watched nine hours ball yesday.
- 33:12Speaker 2: Oh yeah, jesus, it's called being an American.
- 33:15Speaker 3: Yeah, it's called being single.
- 33:20Speaker 1: When I told my wife it was the playoffs, she
- 33:23Speaker 1: was so dismayed. I was like, I have to, I
- 33:27Speaker 1: have to fucking I got.
- 33:31Speaker 3: I woke up yesterday at I don't know, like eight am,
- 33:35Speaker 3: and I quickly went and fucking worked out and did
- 33:39Speaker 3: my laundry and all this stuff. Yeah, and at twelve
- 33:42Speaker 3: thirty I made lunch and I was like, boy, I
- 33:47Speaker 3: don't have anything left to do all fucking day. Yeah,
- 33:52Speaker 3: So I just watched TV until I could not anymore.
- 33:56Speaker 2: It's a good day. It was a good day. My
- 33:58Speaker 2: brain started to fall apart. Yeah, it was a good
- 34:02Speaker 2: day of ball. I will say I would have been
- 34:04Speaker 2: if I wasn't a Patriots fan, I would be that
- 34:07Speaker 2: that Patriots game would have been a little slow.
- 34:10Speaker 3: Yeah. It was a little slow, but it was also
- 34:12Speaker 3: the most decisive of all the playoff victories so far.
- 34:15Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, we ran there.
- 34:17Speaker 3: I was impressed. I was very impressed with the Patriots defense.
- 34:20Speaker 2: They were I don't know where the fuck that came from.
- 34:23Speaker 3: Their defensive line, yeah, or justin Herbert.
- 34:26Speaker 2: Well, they're they're out line is so bad.
- 34:28Speaker 3: Isn't it crazy how much rougher the playoffs get than
- 34:32Speaker 3: the regular scene. Yeah, it's awesome. The amount of like
- 34:37Speaker 3: full blown blow up to the goals and maulings. Yeah,
- 34:41Speaker 3: it seemed to happen. It's like playoff hockey versus.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly. I mean Josh Allen got fucking ripped apart
- 34:49Speaker 2: is they were listing off his injuries like mid game,
- 34:51Speaker 2: it was like every part of his body, you know.
- 34:53Speaker 2: They were like, yeah, it's both of his hands, both feet,
- 34:56Speaker 2: his head, yeah, shoulders, these toes.
- 35:03Speaker 3: Against the Bills, and so he was infuriated. Yea that.
- 35:08Speaker 3: Tony Romo continued to talk about how Josh Allen was hurt, Yeah,
- 35:13Speaker 3: because Josh Allen continued to play. Yeah, yeah, and he's like,
- 35:16Speaker 3: oh he's so hurt, but oh no, looks like he's okay.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Yeah, he came out after that, after he went to
- 35:21Speaker 2: the blue tent. He came out and he was like
- 35:24Speaker 2: he was throwing the ball.
- 35:25Speaker 3: A little weird.
- 35:26Speaker 2: Yeah, but then he just turned it back on immediately,
- 35:29Speaker 2: which of course we did not see in the case
- 35:32Speaker 2: of Jalen Hurts in the Philadelphia Eagles round take the Floor.
- 35:37Speaker 1: I didn't watch the first I didn't watch the first
- 35:39Speaker 1: or third game because on the drive I was driving
- 35:42Speaker 1: down and.
- 35:42Speaker 3: Then driving back silence. On the drive home.
- 35:44Speaker 1: On the drive down, I was I was listening to
- 35:47Speaker 1: like to me, just like get him fire the fuck up.
- 35:51Speaker 1: It was like, I know, I'm proud of me, uh
- 35:55Speaker 1: and then just loving life, just like getting rock hard.
- 36:00Speaker 1: And then on the drive back, I listened to two
- 36:03Speaker 1: straight hours of Alex Cooper's on Well Network, and it's
- 36:07Speaker 1: just like Grace O'Malley being like he has a new
- 36:11Speaker 1: track for you guys to listen to, and I'm just
- 36:14Speaker 1: like this that was jealous on serious yes, and the
- 36:20Speaker 1: radio host, I'm just like jealous of her just too better.
- 36:24Speaker 1: I'm like, maybe I should try and like reach out
- 36:26Speaker 1: to Alex see if I could like join up on
- 36:29Speaker 1: well Network or something like that. Like it seems like
- 36:32Speaker 1: they're not tenaged by like sports or like their fandom
- 36:36Speaker 1: or anything. They're just getting to live.
- 36:38Speaker 2: It was so brutal hooks on life for a little bit.
- 36:42Speaker 1: All right, guys, let's take a second and talk about

- 37:11Speaker 1: Time looking for tickets for the Eagles game, short by section,
- 37:16Speaker 1: short by price. Game Time tickets were less than three
- 37:19Speaker 1: hundred dollars to get into a playoff game. That's so insane.
- 37:24Speaker 1: It's so cheap, and the ticket price actually went down
- 37:28Speaker 1: right beforehand. I saw a scalper outside the stadium. He said,
- 37:31Speaker 1: I said, how are things going, How are sales going?
- 37:34Speaker 1: And he said, nobody's buying anything. They're all getting them
- 37:37Speaker 1: off a game time. I said, no freaking way, brother.
- 37:40Speaker 1: He said, that's the truth, and that's what people are

- 38:41Speaker 3: of my feeling was based on the conversation that the
- 38:44Speaker 3: two of you had. Harry was so confident and you
- 38:49Speaker 3: didn't seem that confident.
- 38:50Speaker 1: Well, I mean I was right to not be confident.
- 38:52Speaker 1: He was right to be confident. You were right to

- 38:54Speaker 3: I bet on the Niners, and I'm happy to do so.
- 38:58Speaker 3: On Draft Kings. Unning back cuts through the line, a stripsack,

- 39:21Speaker 3: had their final drive. I said, I think they're gonna
- 39:24Speaker 3: score here, so I bet the live line, which was
- 39:26Speaker 3: plus two and a half. They scored and I thought,
- 39:30Speaker 3: my god, there's no way I can lose. But sure enough,
- 39:33Speaker 3: the Bills came back and scored another touchdown. So whoops.
- 39:37Speaker 1: But that's a game. That's what makes it fun.

- 43:44Speaker 3: You sent us a clip in the chap ECC that
- 43:47Speaker 3: you were crying on the way down. Was that manufactured
- 43:51Speaker 3: or were you actually emotional.
- 43:52Speaker 1: From something from the from me?
- 43:55Speaker 3: You were emotional from listening to mek Yeah.
- 43:58Speaker 1: Have you ever listened to to Proud of Me? It's
- 44:02Speaker 1: a song about him about what him wanting to slow
- 44:04Speaker 1: dance with his dad at his wedding. But his dad's
- 44:07Speaker 1: dead hm hm, And he's on the same street corners
- 44:13Speaker 1: where his dad got popped at and that's not lost
- 44:14Speaker 1: the brutal.
- 44:16Speaker 3: He's never really thought about dancing, and then the Eagles did.
- 44:23Speaker 3: Rumors might be true, My mom, I know that's true.
- 44:31Speaker 2: He s yeah, I never thought about that.
- 44:36Speaker 1: He says, I just want to slow dance the old man.
- 44:42Speaker 3: You know.
- 44:43Speaker 1: He wants to hold hands and slow dance with his
- 44:45Speaker 1: old man.
- 44:46Speaker 3: That's I don't know, it's interesting, but I mean low
- 44:51Speaker 3: dance with my dad at my wedding. My dad would
- 44:53Speaker 3: have been like, what the fuck?
- 44:55Speaker 1: Well, he doesn't know that he doesn't have a dad
- 44:57Speaker 1: to show him the right direction.
- 44:59Speaker 3: Yeah, you need to have a dad suspicious.
- 45:02Speaker 1: Well, maybe he's gay then, bro, so who cares. Bro,
- 45:04Speaker 1: he can still miss his dad.
- 45:06Speaker 3: Then if you're gay and you do that, it's incestuous.
- 45:08Speaker 2: Yeah, it's worse.
- 45:11Speaker 3: It's like I'm choosing the one I'm more attracted of
- 45:15Speaker 3: my parents. I don't know.
- 45:17Speaker 1: As I was leaving the stadium, like a group of
- 45:20Speaker 1: Eagles fans was walking towards the parking lots, went through
- 45:24Speaker 1: the entire parking lot and got to the back wall
- 45:27Speaker 1: of the parking lot and it was chain shut, and
- 45:30Speaker 1: so you would have had to go around the entire
- 45:32Speaker 1: parking lot to leave. But there was an eighteen inch
- 45:36Speaker 1: slit at the bottom of the fence and all these
- 45:40Speaker 1: fans were just silently just walking up and just rolling
- 45:44Speaker 1: under it. It was so depressing. I just like god
- 45:48Speaker 1: in line. No one was saying a word, and I
- 45:49Speaker 1: just got in line and just like, that's.
- 45:53Speaker 3: The way the way out.
- 45:54Speaker 1: It was the only way out. It was just a
- 45:56Speaker 1: perfect encapsulation of how shitty it went.
- 45:59Speaker 3: Did you go to the game with anyone with my sister? Oh? Okay, cool.
- 46:05Speaker 1: Drove up, Solo drove up Solo watched the game alone
- 46:08Speaker 1: headphones on, listening to Merril Reese just got out of Dodge.
- 46:13Speaker 3: You know, to your point, Harry, I'll say that the
- 46:16Speaker 3: Eagles probably should have won that game.
- 46:20Speaker 2: Oh, I mean they should have. The Eagles should have
- 46:21Speaker 2: won the Super Bowl this year. Yeah.
- 46:25Speaker 1: Their coaches are dumb, exactly. Kevin Patulo is uh, yeah,
- 46:30Speaker 1: he is.
- 46:31Speaker 2: And when is Sirianni gonna learn his lesson about talking
- 46:33Speaker 2: shit about regular season games?
- 46:36Speaker 1: What do you mean?
- 46:37Speaker 2: He did the same thing that they got eliminated when
- 46:38Speaker 2: they had the complete collapse after they beat the Chiefs,
- 46:42Speaker 2: and he was like, I can't hear you any more
- 46:43Speaker 2: Chiefs fans. And then they lost ten games in a row.
- 46:47Speaker 2: And then they beat the Bills and he did the
- 46:50Speaker 2: exact same thing, and then they get they lose first
- 46:52Speaker 2: round of the playoffs.
- 46:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean KP didn't do enough.
- 46:57Speaker 2: Oc KP aj talk about it.
- 47:01Speaker 1: You can't get rid of a cap if you if
- 47:05Speaker 1: you get rid of age.
- 47:06Speaker 2: It's like they've got to get rid of age.
- 47:08Speaker 3: That's a funny moment where A. J. Brown and Nick
- 47:10Speaker 3: Sirianni were like.
- 47:11Speaker 2: Furious, Oh yeah, when they're yelling at each other and
- 47:14Speaker 2: Brady over. Oh yeah.
- 47:16Speaker 3: I was like, yeah, I like that, you know, just
- 47:18Speaker 3: a guy voicing they have a fiery special religion. The
- 47:22Speaker 3: other announcer was like, are you.
- 47:23Speaker 2: Sure that's like that seems worse. Yeah, it's like, no,
- 47:27Speaker 2: they hate each other.
- 47:28Speaker 3: He just like went the whole time, talk the whole time.
- 47:31Speaker 3: He was like, it's just you know, a couple of
- 47:33Speaker 3: competitive It's like, no, that's open mutiny in the middle
- 47:38Speaker 3: of the playoff game.
- 47:39Speaker 1: Toxic.
- 47:42Speaker 2: I mean yeah, I mean it was tough.
- 47:46Speaker 3: They should have.
- 47:48Speaker 1: What should they have done? Go ahead? No, no, what
- 47:52Speaker 1: should they have done?
- 47:54Speaker 2: I got to hear this everything different. Yeah, they suck
- 47:59Speaker 2: and they got a clean I think they got a
- 48:01Speaker 2: clean house. I think they got to start from scratch.
- 48:03Speaker 2: This team, Jalen hurts, start from scratch.
- 48:05Speaker 1: You just said that they should have won the Super
- 48:07Speaker 1: Bowl because they have the best roster, right, So why
- 48:09Speaker 1: would they start from scratch.
- 48:10Speaker 2: Because everyone on the roster despises each other? No, there,
- 48:14Speaker 2: I don't even I don't think I've seen in two
- 48:15Speaker 2: Eagles players have a conversation in the last three weeks.
- 48:18Speaker 1: You're not watching hard knocks. Then the ingredients are good,
- 48:21Speaker 1: the chef is bad.
- 48:22Speaker 2: Bro the ingredients are they not have gone bad?
- 48:25Speaker 1: Said that they should have won a Super Bowl.
- 48:27Speaker 2: Jalen Hurts is aging like milk brother, it's over. He's
- 48:32Speaker 2: got you got a draft to QB. Maybe it's over
- 48:36Speaker 2: for Hurts. AJ Brown retire seriously hanging up.
- 48:40Speaker 3: A Brown dropped three passes yesterday to win the game. Well,
- 48:44Speaker 3: two of them were really pretty unlike.
- 48:46Speaker 2: Him, and he's been all year.
- 48:50Speaker 3: I might catch, I might catch. I don't think I
- 48:53Speaker 3: would have caught the one down the right sideline where
- 48:55Speaker 3: he had to come back into the middle of the
- 48:56Speaker 3: field and a little underthrown. Yeah, I don't think I
- 48:59Speaker 3: would have caught that one. But the one across the
- 49:01Speaker 3: middle that he dropped might, I mean that was then again,
- 49:05Speaker 3: I say that, what am I talking about, dude? If
- 49:07Speaker 3: I'm going across the middle of the field. In fact,
- 49:09Speaker 3: I think that if the quarterback in the huddle in
- 49:11Speaker 3: an NFL game, if I'm stepping onto an NFL field
- 49:14Speaker 3: just out of the stands as some like miracle replacement.
- 49:18Speaker 3: We've all had that fantasy, you know, And we're in
- 49:21Speaker 3: the huddle and the route that I am designated to
- 49:25Speaker 3: take is a slant route across the middle of the field. Yeah,
- 49:29Speaker 3: I'm just like, I'm sorry, guys. Yeah, I'm not physically
- 49:32Speaker 3: equipped to catch a ball in the air with the
- 49:39Speaker 3: head of a defensive back. Yeah, down at my Solar three.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Yeah, launching like with their weapon helmet.
- 49:47Speaker 2: Yeah, there's just no way their weighted helmets, there's no.
- 49:51Speaker 3: I don't even think. I don't think i'd go up
- 49:55Speaker 3: for the ball. I don't know how you run a
- 49:56Speaker 3: route across the middle of the field.
- 49:57Speaker 1: Well, the Eagles barely ever throw it over the middle,
- 50:00Speaker 1: and I think that it's when they don't want turnovers.
- 50:02Speaker 1: But the forty nine ers always throw it over the middle.
- 50:05Speaker 1: And I think that's because they have some crazy ass
- 50:08Speaker 1: white boys. They got George Kittle, Kyle Hughes Check and
- 50:12Speaker 1: Christian McCaffrey, three white boys that.
- 50:15Speaker 3: Just don't do the chick just like ran through the guy.
- 50:19Speaker 3: Yeah that's Harvard right there, he.
- 50:22Speaker 1: Is he Harvard man.
- 50:23Speaker 3: Fuck Yeah, that's Harvard tough right.
- 50:26Speaker 1: I would have been rooting for him.
- 50:28Speaker 3: It's the only school that still has the full back
- 50:30Speaker 3: position in college football.
- 50:32Speaker 1: Yeah, they have three full backs.
- 50:35Speaker 2: Har tough.
- 50:36Speaker 3: Yeah, straight out of.
- 50:38Speaker 1: K I would have been rooting for him if I
- 50:40Speaker 1: known he was Harvard Town big time. That's so sick.
- 50:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that was tough loss. I will say
- 50:47Speaker 2: they obviously they didn't have the easiest route in the playoffs. Like,
- 50:51Speaker 2: that's not the forty nine ers are good.
- 50:53Speaker 1: Forty nine ers don't have three of their all pros.
- 50:56Speaker 1: Kittle was out for the game. Trent Williams was barely playing.
- 50:59Speaker 1: They didn't have Bosa, they didn't have Fred Warner. The
- 51:02Speaker 1: team is depleted, and they still smacked Eagles around.
- 51:04Speaker 2: Kittle is a system tight end. So let's scratch that
- 51:07Speaker 2: narrative together.
- 51:08Speaker 1: Kittle is my brother. I don't know that team.
- 51:10Speaker 2: That entire team is Brock Purty and Christian McCaffrey. It's honestly,
- 51:14Speaker 2: if we're being honest, it's just Christian McCaffrey.
- 51:17Speaker 3: J Jennings.
- 51:18Speaker 2: Of course I used check Harvard man Jennings. What about
- 51:21Speaker 2: him is not one? What is it? Joan Joan?
- 51:26Speaker 1: Like he's black, not Hispanic.
- 51:30Speaker 2: Just saying that how it's pronounced, Jenny spelt. I'm pronouncing
- 51:33Speaker 2: it how it's spelt.
- 51:34Speaker 3: This is for our Latin audience.
- 51:37Speaker 1: Juan favorite players.
- 51:43Speaker 2: Good, he's real deal. Yeah, And then of course we
- 51:47Speaker 2: can just move on to the Patriots game.
- 51:50Speaker 3: Who was there player in the first game that kind
- 51:55Speaker 3: of blew my mind.
- 51:57Speaker 1: On the which team on the Jaguars?
- 52:01Speaker 3: On the Jags, No, atm was amazing. It was that
- 52:06Speaker 3: receiver Washington, Washington, that guy what the every time he
- 52:12Speaker 3: touched the ball. Yeah, it was He's special, some some
- 52:16Speaker 3: big He's special.
- 52:17Speaker 2: I think the Jags are going to be really good
- 52:19Speaker 2: next year. I thought that. I actually weird. Uh, say
- 52:22Speaker 2: what you want, call my bluff.
- 52:24Speaker 3: I knew that.
- 52:24Speaker 2: I thought the Jags are gonna be really good this year.
- 52:27Speaker 2: No you didn't, Yes, I did.
- 52:28Speaker 1: But you didn't tell a soul until after the season.
- 52:30Speaker 2: Well, we didn't really talk a lot of ball on
- 52:32Speaker 2: the show this year because we didn't we have.
- 52:34Speaker 1: The way, but we filmed it every week, but that
- 52:36Speaker 1: was never once and even show. I'll take your word
- 52:43Speaker 1: for it.
- 52:45Speaker 2: I can go back and look at my test.
- 52:46Speaker 1: And we did. We did a season preview where we
- 52:48Speaker 1: said over unders for teams and you didn't really say much.
- 52:51Speaker 2: Then I think I lost the plot somewhere along the
- 52:54Speaker 2: way due it was weird because preseason I was like,
- 52:57Speaker 2: the Jags are going to be so good, and then
- 52:59Speaker 2: once we got into the season, I instantly came back
- 53:02Speaker 2: to my old jag hitting ways.
- 53:03Speaker 3: There was a moment, man, what you got now? There
- 53:07Speaker 3: was a moment where they in the you know, before
- 53:10Speaker 3: they came back into the game from a commercial break,
- 53:13Speaker 3: they panned in on a on the pool in the
- 53:17Speaker 3: Jaguars Stadium, which I've actually gone swimming in. Really, I
- 53:20Speaker 3: have swum in, Harry, Really, I have swum in it.
- 53:23Speaker 2: That's great.
- 53:25Speaker 3: How was it?
- 53:25Speaker 4: Uh?
- 53:26Speaker 3: Fine? A little weird? Yeah, Now you're just aware that
- 53:29Speaker 3: there's a chance you're going to be on camera in
- 53:31Speaker 3: a pool.
- 53:32Speaker 2: Yeah, anyway, you should just be hidden laps the whole time.
- 53:36Speaker 3: There was a there was a kid and it was
- 53:37Speaker 3: just a kid dancing in the pool and it was like,
- 53:40Speaker 3: you know, it was kind of funny. And then they
- 53:42Speaker 3: panned out a little bit and he was wearing pants.
- 53:46Speaker 2: Oh and no shirt. That's like a last minute decision.
- 53:50Speaker 3: And I'm like, I've worn a shirt in the pool.
- 53:53Speaker 3: I've never gone pants. Now jeans. I could not get
- 53:57Speaker 3: past it. It's hard for me to focus on the game.
- 54:00Speaker 2: It's gotta be tough to swim in pants.
- 54:03Speaker 3: Pants is like the plane crash.
- 54:09Speaker 1: The card comes, I took your shirt off to make
- 54:13Speaker 1: a flotation of us. How did you even get into
- 54:20Speaker 1: that circumstance where you had pool access at the football game?
- 54:24Speaker 3: Chaps brought us and he knew the team or something
- 54:29Speaker 3: like that. We didn't got the first half. We were
- 54:30Speaker 3: in the owner's box. Oh ship sal Con.
- 54:33Speaker 2: That piece of ship?
- 54:34Speaker 3: Is he is that? Or is it hammer?
- 54:36Speaker 2: Is it the guy from the shot Panthers. Who's the
- 54:39Speaker 2: one that threw the beer at the fan?
- 54:41Speaker 1: That's the Panthers.
- 54:42Speaker 2: Panthers they were playing the school.
- 54:44Speaker 3: They seemed to like him, And do you know his story?
- 54:50Speaker 1: Is he is he Iranian?
- 54:51Speaker 3: I think so Pakistani? Pakistani? I think he got rich
- 54:55Speaker 3: inventing some sort of bumper buddy type car thing.
- 55:00Speaker 1: That's the dream.
- 55:02Speaker 3: I could be wrong about that bullshit sorry, like a
- 55:05Speaker 3: go kart, No, like a thing that protects the car
- 55:09Speaker 3: from being a one piece truck bumper for like rear ending.
- 55:16Speaker 3: That's that's as far as my information, because it's it
- 55:20Speaker 3: gets real spotty quick. Oh, I say, but it was
- 55:23Speaker 3: a cool thing. It's like you're worth seven billion dollars
- 55:26Speaker 3: because you invented a piece truck that.
- 55:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it's crazy because he was probably just like at
- 55:31Speaker 2: home one day and He's like, I could use something
- 55:34Speaker 2: for my truck.
- 55:35Speaker 1: Here, what I want to shod you have to get
- 55:40Speaker 1: into You have to call people on the phone and
- 55:45Speaker 1: with them. I want to fix my truck.
- 55:49Speaker 3: I want That's great, Oh really quick, we'll come back
- 55:58Speaker 3: to ball Patriots.
- 56:00Speaker 2: I don't care.
- 56:01Speaker 3: I went into a gun store this weekend.
- 56:03Speaker 1: Where Upstate is everything? Okay, I'm going to say, I
- 56:06Speaker 1: was like, where.
- 56:06Speaker 2: In New York City.
- 56:07Speaker 3: No, they have a gun store connected to the sort
- 56:10Speaker 3: of butcher shop that I really like. There's an open door,
- 56:15Speaker 3: like there's you just go straight from getting your nice
- 56:17Speaker 3: groceries at the butcher. It's butcher, but they also have
- 56:21Speaker 3: wonderful pastas and all of oils. It's like a small
- 56:24Speaker 3: We tried to go and they were closed. Yeah quatros.
- 56:28Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, of course I tried to go. But
- 56:30Speaker 3: I went and got a really nice steak, and then
- 56:36Speaker 3: I deposited my groceries in the car, and I thought,
- 56:40Speaker 3: I really want to go into that gun store. Yeah,
- 56:42Speaker 3: take a look around, And so I went in and
- 56:44Speaker 3: when I walked in, it sort of felt imagine like
- 56:49Speaker 3: how it must have felt for a black man to
- 56:53Speaker 3: walk into a previously whites only store right after Jim
- 56:58Speaker 3: Crow had been abolish like eartically, the people were having
- 57:04Speaker 3: conver lively conversations and then everyone went silent because I
- 57:09Speaker 3: walked in with like a sweater and and my Solomon's
- 57:14Speaker 3: and they were like one of them, one of them's here,
- 57:18Speaker 3: you know, and I just I was walking around with
- 57:22Speaker 3: my hands behind my back as if I was browsing
- 57:24Speaker 3: at the door, right and just like kind of leaning
- 57:29Speaker 3: over a case of pistols, like what are the prices
- 57:32Speaker 3: on the you know, I really was curious. And then
- 57:36Speaker 3: they sort of started talking again, and you know, they
- 57:39Speaker 3: were all real gun aficionados, and.
- 57:43Speaker 2: Uh were they all carrying?
- 57:47Speaker 1: Of course?
- 57:48Speaker 3: I mean at any point they could have just reached
- 57:51Speaker 3: in the case if something I had done anything on it.
- 57:56Speaker 3: But this was a serious gun store. I mean that's
- 57:59Speaker 3: all they sold. And then knives too.
- 58:02Speaker 2: And groceries.
- 58:04Speaker 3: Well that was sure. You were at Walmart. Yeah, they're
- 58:08Speaker 3: part of the store. But I was distinctly aware of
- 58:12Speaker 3: how out of place I felt and self conscious I
- 58:15Speaker 3: was based on how I was dressed. You know, the
- 58:19Speaker 3: next time I go, I'm going to like grow my
- 58:21Speaker 3: beard out, Oh yeah a little bit.
- 58:23Speaker 2: And well, did you get into make any.
- 58:25Speaker 3: Purchases I thought about it were looking at I was
- 58:28Speaker 3: looking at pistols the specific. Brother, Do you think it'd
- 58:31Speaker 3: be cool for me to buy a pistol?
- 58:33Speaker 2: No, and I don't think it would be cool.
- 58:35Speaker 3: I wouldn't have it in the city. I'd keep it
- 58:37Speaker 3: up state.
- 58:37Speaker 2: I don't think you can even bring it to the city.
- 58:39Speaker 1: What the fuck are you going to do with the pistol?
- 58:41Speaker 1: Just know that I have it, and I don't think
- 58:44Speaker 1: that's good for you.
- 58:45Speaker 3: Probably not.
- 58:47Speaker 2: I just don't really think there's any reason for you
- 58:49Speaker 2: to have one.
- 58:49Speaker 3: I don't know if I need the means to destruction you.
- 58:52Speaker 2: Have that you live in a pretty safe area.
- 58:54Speaker 1: A door man, he's he's definitely like a gate keeper. Yeah,
- 58:58Speaker 1: who's definitely armed.
- 59:00Speaker 3: But he wouldn't let me borrow.
- 59:01Speaker 2: His if it came down to it. White he might
- 59:05Speaker 2: if it comes down to it, like if you guys
- 59:07Speaker 2: are in like a survival situation and you're like, throw
- 59:09Speaker 2: me at your.
- 59:10Speaker 1: Gun, like Bill's Aarrian, give me one of those things.
- 59:13Speaker 2: I need to see your proper paperwork first.
- 59:16Speaker 3: What I really wanted to know was I really wanted
- 59:20Speaker 3: to ask, can I buy a gun right now? And
- 59:22Speaker 3: walk out of here today with it.
- 59:24Speaker 2: Yeah, and they would say, no, what the process not
- 59:27Speaker 2: if you ask that question, Well, that's the thing.
- 59:32Speaker 3: Yeah, so what's the non suspicious way?
- 59:35Speaker 2: I think New York State is like the hardest state
- 59:37Speaker 2: in America to get a gun.
- 59:38Speaker 3: That can't be I'm.
- 59:40Speaker 2: Pretty sure it is. Like when me, Like I remember
- 59:43Speaker 2: when me and Mouke went shooting in Phoenix and then
- 59:47Speaker 2: we had shows in Buffalo like a month later, and
- 59:50Speaker 2: we were like, should we try to go shooting when
- 59:52Speaker 2: we're in Buffalo, just like something to do? And then
- 59:54Speaker 2: we looked it up and it's like, you need your license,
- 59:56Speaker 2: and I'm pretty sure you got to like bring your
- 59:57Speaker 2: own gun.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: If you walked into that gun store and you did
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: a cartwheel, do you think that they shoot you before
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: your feet even hit the ground. Probably you think they
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: be so startled.
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: Yeah, you've got to try to.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: Do that next time. Pretty good, Just hit them with
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: a cartwheel. Yeah, it's some grown men just to see
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: if like where they're at. Was it like if they
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: just like touch the weapon, if they fully draw it, Yeah,
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: they empty the clip.
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: Didn't you guys enjoy firing those guns that we fired?
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: Definitely don't you want to feel that again somehow?
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: Yeah, but I'm not in a place where I can
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: feel that or go somewhere to feel that.
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: Okay, I live in which state in the country has
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: the hardest hardest? I knew California. That was what I
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: was going to throw out.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: Really, Yeah, Hawaii.
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: It's interesting. They just got bow and arrows out there.
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: Spears.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: Yeah, they're still doing the blow darts.
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: Just.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: A wholly different indigenous people talking about an African tribe.
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: I think a lot about buying a gun. I don't
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: know why. I think a lot about it.
- 1:01:16Speaker 2: Why you don't want to phrase it like that. It's
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: just all right, keeps me up at night, honestly.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: Yeah, I gotta get one. That's sort of it. You know.
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: You Look, we talked about this when Tommy was here,
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: but I have reached a level of sort of obsessiveness
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: over pursuing things specifically like material possessions, but sometimes hobbies
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: too that I need to I need to like seriously
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: change the way I live my life.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: So you're gonna get a gun.
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: Well, no, the gun could be the next and the
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: next pursuit.
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: The next end.
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: No, and and.
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: All of this, all of this is because of my phone. Yeah,
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: I have become the latest to become so addicted to
- 1:02:10Speaker 3: my phone that I cannot detach from that as being.
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: You know what I was taught. I was talking to
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: Matthew Bissard the other day and he said that he
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: got one of those brick things.
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: I just ordered one.
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: Oh really I had to, he said, it actually is
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: really helpful.
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: I ordered the brick.
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: He showed what you were at the stand. He showed me.
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: He was like, I can't go on any social media
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: right now.
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: Yeah, you basically lock yourself into a very limited number
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: of apps on your phone. Yeah, like phone or email
- 1:02:34Speaker 3: or whatever it would be so that you can rebuild
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: your focus, because my focus is absolutely fucked. Yeah. That
- 1:02:40Speaker 3: nine hours of ball that I was watching, I would
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: say that through seven and a half hours of it.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: I was pursuing Morano glass espresso since from the nineteen
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: sixties on Etsy because I am now an officially a
- 1:02:55Speaker 3: fucking at home barista. Yeah. I have bought the machine,
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: I bought the grinder. I'm fully in on this.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: Really.
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: I got it up over the weekend.
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: People were like dming me, being like, Yo, you got
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: to tell Francis don't do it.
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: I've done it. We've done it, and now I need
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: you guys to come over in the morning. I can
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: show you my new latte art skills. We're going to
- 1:03:21Speaker 3: start with the heart like everything, Yeah, of course, and
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: build from there. Flower, I've fully lost the plot. I
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: fully lost the plot. And what happens is my whole
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: Instagram feed now is just Barista coffee. Shit. I'm not
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: even following these accounts. Oh yeah, so they know that
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: I'm obsessed. So I go deeper and deeper into the
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: rabbit hole. And it's it is that is feeding this
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: uh kind of material obsession, this need to consume. There
- 1:03:48Speaker 3: was no way that I was going to be able
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: to get past this without purchasing the machine. It was
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: the only palliative. Yeah, I mean, I know what you mean.
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: I do the same shit, not to that extent, but
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: I definitely get into things and then buy a lot
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: of things for them.
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: The Internet is the enemy at this point, big time.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: God glad you've come around.
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: I and thank you to everybody that's watching us.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: This doesn't count. This is like healthy compared to the
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: other stuff.
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: Dude, I'm I'm sick and by myself.
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: You think if you have waited a week or two
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: that this this specific obsession would have passed.
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: No, I think I would have spent more money he needed.
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: It would have built like a pressure system. Yeah, I'm
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: at a.
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: Point you would have ended up like buying a coffee shop.
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: Where I'm at a point now where I need to
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: put my when I go drive upstate or back for
- 1:04:40Speaker 3: the ride like two hours, I need to throw my
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: phone into the recesses of the back seat so that
- 1:04:48Speaker 3: I don't at every single stoplight pick up my phone
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: and start scrolling again until the light turns School.
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: What are you doing on your phone and you're just
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: scrolling on Instagram?
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: I can't stop picking it up. I don't even know
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: what I'm fucking looking for. I don't even really I
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: have this unscratchable itch of like maybe this person has responded,
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: or maybe I have a response on eBay from that
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: person I was going back and forth with over the
- 1:05:12Speaker 3: fucking WDT distribution tool to make sure there's no clumps
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: when I put my espresso pull into the portafilter. Yeah.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: There's a good episode of a podcast called search Engine
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: that's specifically about this, and it's about like the dopamine
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: that you get even from like the Hope of the Check,
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: and it's all linked back to even like early Facebook,
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: when you had a notification, I wonder what that notification is.
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: And I have more notifications like I'm just getting a
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: push notification from Adam Schefter that the Arizona State quarterback
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: is about to go to Texas Tech.
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: Or some shit.
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like, oh, I wonder what this could be,
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: but uh, it's not. There's nothing in there for you, brother.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: What are you listening to on the ride anything?
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: This morning? I listened to The Daily and then I
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: spoke to my mom about this problem I have for
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: about forty five minutes. And then actually I spoke to
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: my mom first. Then I listened to The Daily, and
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: then I listened to Acquired. But you know what one
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: thing I learned or realized, is that I've become the
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: thing I hate. I used to be somebody that despised
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: when you know, I'd be at a dinner with some
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: people or friends and people would be on their phone
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: as I was just sitting there eating my food, wishing
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: that someone would talk to me. Yeah, and I've realized that,
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: you know, I am the latest to just absolutely fall
- 1:06:35Speaker 3: in line. I've become completely addicted to my phone, and
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: uh it's also you know, constantly text messaging and like
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: all that. And what I want to do is just
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: sort of disassociate from my phone, which means that I'm
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: going to be a lot harder to reach. And I
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: realized that the hardest person in my life to reach
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: is you. Yeah, and that is cool, Oh yeah, big time.
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: When when you reach out to someone and they just
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: don't respond and they're unreachable, I'm off the phone. It's infuriating,
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: that's not true. When I get home, phone goes down.
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: But it's cool. And there's no greater sign that someone
- 1:07:14Speaker 3: has become a big deal or like famous or successful
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: then that they no longer respond to your messages and
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: you can those people can get away with it. So
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: if I am to live this life that I think
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: I have, which is one of like stepping forward into success,
- 1:07:28Speaker 3: yeah yeah, stop being so reachable, I say.
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: I mean, I think one of the most famous people
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: I know is Big Cat, and he is the most responsive.
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: Like anything I said to him, he'll he'll always respond back.
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: So I don't know if that's a true correlative.
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: Well, that's pretty responsible of him.
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: He's a great responder.
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: Yeah, that kind of throws a wrench in the plan.
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: No, No, I do correspond occasionally with here and there
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: with some some famous people. Not sound like I talked
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: to Chrissy Tigue and a.
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: Lot really really got home de core.
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: Interesting. She has advised me heavily on like light fixtures
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: and chairs and things.
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: That's emotional. That's emotional. John legends that's an emotional relations
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: which is actually worse than physical cheating.
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: She might think I'm gay strictly from what we talk about.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: No chance, John on the other end, replying like only
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: fans manager.
- 1:08:31Speaker 6: Yeah, hint, I talked to I used to talk to uh,
- 1:08:38Speaker 6: to fucking the guitarists, the brilliant guitarist that you're friends.
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: With, Jimmy Hendrix, Yes, all right, John Mayer used to
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: talk to him.
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: Of course Starbucks, what about uh you know what, didn't
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: you guys have the thing with the Starbucks?
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: I was about the Delta lounge. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: But then I would ask him for like tips, watches
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: and stuff like that. And now he doesn't respond anymore. Yeah,
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: because famous, famous, and that's cool, that's so nice.
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: I've lost him and do you need to lose some people.
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: I mean, you respond to every DM.
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: I'm going to move away from that. That is taking
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: up too much of my time.
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: That's an insane thing to do to. Even like I.
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: Don't respond to every d M, I respond to a.
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: Lot of d ms, and that's still insane.
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: It's gotten out of the hand. I need to I
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: need to detach.
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: Wait, do you remember how Sas is always like, dude,
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: I'm not I don't stay up that late. I'm not
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: on my phone that much. You know how he's kind
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: of been making that claim. Do you do?
- 1:09:39Speaker 2: I had a late night like three nights ago.
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: Yeah, chap, chap, BCC.
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: It's two fifty.
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: Eight, by the way, if you're no, no, No, I was
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: in bed.
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: I was laying in bed. I was laying in bed.
- 1:09:54Speaker 3: One thing before, yeah.
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: One last argument. Blood was hot. Now yeah, I knew
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: that he hasn't been all this last time. I was
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: sleep by like twelve thirty. No, I mean, I like
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: it lights out. I need to see proof up early.
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: So it's a lie because we were all we were texting.
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: Early and I was reading him. I wasn't answering.
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: Yeah, right, dude, you'd your business manager reading him.
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: You guys made you guys are like, what time you
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: want to record? Someone said, yeah, you read it afterwards.
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: That doesn't prove that you were almost had one. And
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: I was like, all right, roll back.
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: June fifty eight on chat BCC was shocking.
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: I had a productive morning. I took the trash out.
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: You know what, whenever Stephen Chase had he had a
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: productive morning, I means he jerked off from the shower.
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: Oh yeah, true, I did not do that. I'm not
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: an animal.
- 1:10:48Speaker 3: That's insane. What an unbelievably difficult place now unacceptable? Uh,
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: that's like go on. That's like people that insist on
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: having a conversation in the shower to prove that the
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: other person isn't wearing a wire. Yeah, like you're hiding
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: your behavior on a level that is yeah, highly suspicious.
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: Yeah, he's just in the shower for a long ass time.
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: But now the shower, my shower routine has changed great
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: like so much in the last years, last couple of years,
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: Like I feel like I used to love just like
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: hopping in the shower, sitting in the shower for like
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: thirty minutes, sit down. Now just like just chilling in them.
- 1:11:35Speaker 3: Some of the darkest moments in my life have been
- 1:11:37Speaker 3: spent on the floor of the shower.
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: Yeah, if you ever put ass cheek to shower floor,
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: then it's already over.
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: Biddy and the lights are off. Oh my god. Yeah, no,
- 1:11:46Speaker 3: I never had that fully clothes. The tears just blend
- 1:11:49Speaker 3: with the streaming water down your face.
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: Now I'm in and out. I mean I'm in and out.
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: You got to get back to your phone, exactly.
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: I can't be away from your phone for that long.
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: I got the brick. We're gonna report. This is not
- 1:12:01Speaker 3: an endorsement of the product because we don't know yet,
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: but I'm really I need a lifeline.
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: Well, it's definitely better than the fucking built in ship
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: that the that the phone has. That ship does nothing.
- 1:12:12Speaker 2: I wake up in the morning and I'm like, already
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: onto the I've already said I did ignore.
- 1:12:17Speaker 3: I did delete Twitter from my phone in New Zealand. And.
- 1:12:20Speaker 3: Of the two social media apps, that's the only one
- 1:12:22Speaker 3: I have not read down there.
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: Yeah, that's the best I have.
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: No, I don't. I really could delete my account.
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: Bro, I don't know why. It's like a lib opinion
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: to say that Twitter sucks now like it's objectively awful.
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: I just.
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's like that has it has nothing to
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: do with Elon Musker's politics. It has to do it
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: he destroyed the app.
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: It's like that. It's just the most argumentative gotcha.
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: It's the one place where like where if you posted
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: a video of you, like helping an armless legless oh yeah,
- 1:12:52Speaker 3: out of a seat, like the majority of the replies
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: would be like, this is the problem with the world.
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: Yeah, why do you feel the need to post this?
- 1:13:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: Ever since people started tweeting in like that like two
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: sentences dash, two sentences dash two sentences, which is all AI,
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: it's all That's like every time I see a tweet
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: formatted like that, I'm like, this isn't a real person or.
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: Or the vague posting is actually it drives me insane.
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: It's that I was like the posting four photos and
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: you click on them and they line up.
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: It's just like it's like that's a trend. But like
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: vague posting is like, uh, oh, do you know what
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: I'm talking about? When people are just like intentionally obtuse
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: and they'll just be like what do you notice about
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: this picture? Or the like can I just say something
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: or like if like I say what's on my mind,
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: Like you're not gonna let me exist?
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: Yeah, and people are like.
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: What's on their mind? Yeah, fucking need to know what's
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: on their mind. I mean it's a it's a great
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: strategy for if you just want to get paid on.
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: B I tweeted about how it sucked and someone like
- 1:13:53Speaker 2: hit me up and they were like, yo, in all seriousness,
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: you could be pulling in an extra like three K
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: a month if you just started tweeting more like, dude,
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: I'm not here to feed the beast. You know, I'm
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: not playing the game.
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: All the tweet are on chat BCC.
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: Bro, you don't have to go there, exactly.
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: The bangers are over on BCC.
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: I'm not playing the game, Like, I'm not like engagement
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: farming for money.
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: Yeah, it's dangerous. It's a dark world.
- 1:14:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: There's other methods than the brick too, though. There's like
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: piece of technology where you can kind of like teather,
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: Like there's basically tethers that they have that people use
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: for their phones where it's just like you only I
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: guess it's a phone cord, but like you're only using
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: it when you're in a certain area, so it doesn't
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: follow you everywhere you go. Oh so you're not just like.
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: I think, like the MP three player will come back,
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: you know, yea disconnect.
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: I thought about I thought about reverting to like a
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: flip phone, but you know, I think that's extreme. I
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: really need the camera to feel random. Ship.
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: The flip phone is like a good idea, and there
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: are people that do it, but it's also like then
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: you're kind of it's kind of a nuisance.
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: Yeah, you're kind of like a problem.
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: Right, It's like, oh shit, where'd haw you go? I
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: will his phone only the battery only lasts for fifteen
- 1:15:05Speaker 2: minutes a day. Yeah, must have left the house again.
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: Was playing two hours of snake.
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: Honestly, it would just be helpful if they just implemented
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: the social credit score system. Now, Yeah, so all the
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: work we've been doing would be worth something, you know,
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: the following that we've been building that it could we
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: can actually use that for something, yeah, as opposed to
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: just it being for absolutely nothing.
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, Well, the first step is recognizing the problem,
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: and I have realized I cannot go on this way,
- 1:15:41Speaker 3: So I'm gonna be disconnecting.
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: I thought that you used to leave your phone outside
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: your bedroom.
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: I still do that, but the second I wake up,
- 1:15:49Speaker 3: I like sprint out of bed to go get it.
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: Oh that's bad.
- 1:15:52Speaker 3: And then sometimes I'll grab it and go back under covers.
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: Because it's yeah, of course, but also they say that,
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: like the biggest thing is you should start your day
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: without your phone.
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: I know, I can't read twenty pages of my book anymore,
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: and that's how I used to start every day reading
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: for an hour.
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: I read thirty pages of a book yesterday.
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: I don't know, no breaks. I don't believe you, but
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: I swear I did normally. Like I can't, I start
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: to panic fifteen pages in about like, wait a minute,
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: I have to fucking go do this. I have to
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: go do that.
- 1:16:21Speaker 2: What I do is I turned my notifications on super loud,
- 1:16:23Speaker 2: and then I put my phone face down and I'm like,
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: if it, if it rings, that means someone contacted me.
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: If not, I'm not touching it. I never have any
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: notifications on because I would only make the problem infinitely worse.
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: You probably used to love showers because you could really
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: just fucking thinking that bitch exactly. You get that. That's
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: probably where the banger tweets were coming up totally. You
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: just turn your brain off a little bit. Why being
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: on a bike is nice or being in where you
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: are you going to a lifetime?
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I will say I've been fucking I'm getting I'm
- 1:16:59Speaker 3: in really good shit again. Yeah, I've recovered it. I'm ready,
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: not just for war like street war, I'm ready for
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: fucking the troubles Northern Ireland fucking seventies.
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: They were like throwing. They were fighting with bricks, yeah, throwing,
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: you know, and their guns and their bombs and their
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: tanks and they're ready to make.
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: The job cocktails and there guns them through police station windows.
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: Which side was she on in that song at Cranberry
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: I think? And their tanks and their bombs the raw?
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: I think was she on the side of the raw
- 1:17:36Speaker 3: or against the raw? Well, if she's singing in their
- 1:17:41Speaker 3: tanks and their bombs, that means she's probably against the
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: that's probably against Ireland, I would think, against the the
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: Protestants who were backed by England. Checks out to me,
- 1:17:58Speaker 3: Oh man, this is this is I read that book too.
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: Say nothing. I fucking read it top to bottom and
- 1:18:06Speaker 3: I cannot remember. Say nothing, Yeah, say nothing on the
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: story of the troubles.
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: You were just thinking about your damn phone the whole time.
- 1:18:13Speaker 3: No, I read this back when I had attention. It's
- 1:18:17Speaker 3: a pretty good book. It's almost very good. I would
- 1:18:20Speaker 3: say the craziest part of that book is the hunger strikes.
- 1:18:24Speaker 3: The way that these people who you know in prisons
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: would just decide like, Okay, all we can do is
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: not eat. It's our only way to protest. Yeah, and
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: they would all do it.
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: And the British people did not give a fuck.
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: Bro, I can't make it to noon without a meal,
- 1:18:40Speaker 3: And they would go days and days and days.
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: Well, you're soaking your potatoes and duck fat.
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: The way I cooked these fucking potatoes, I finally unlocked
- 1:18:48Speaker 3: true crispy potatoes.
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: They're really good.
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: It took me a long long time to use avocado oil. No,
- 1:18:55Speaker 3: I used duck fat. Bought it quatros from a duck
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: quatros with a gun purchased at that very Quatros.
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: Has the best duck fat.
- 1:19:05Speaker 3: Duck fat. You eat it by the spoonful. Did I
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: tell you I made venison bowls too, Yes, I told
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: you that. Yeah.
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: So nice, that poor dear.
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: Exercising chobani. Yeah, and granola. Cool. That's all I'm eating.
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: Twenty gram twenty protein Graham, just.
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: The straight Chabanni, good for the stomach. I'm hitting a
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: full reset. I just want to let you guys know.
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: I'm happy that you are once you joined the lifetime
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: with Francis. But I did hear they got rid of
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: the basketball court for the pickle ball they did? Is
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: that infrastructures racis?
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: Yeah, that's straight up racist.
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: The equinoxes right down the street three times is expensive.
- 1:19:53Speaker 2: Yeah, Equinox is ridiculous. I called Equinox maybe six years
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: ago asking about what their prices were, and I've had
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: to block multiple numbers from Equinox that are still calling.
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: Really bro, I blocked a number they called from a
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: new number. I was like, this is harassment. I'm not
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: spending fucking five hundred dollars a month.
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: They pretended to be a telemarketer. Yeah, they pretended to
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: be shod Con. And they call you.
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: And they're like, Harry, what's up?
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: Man?
- 1:20:22Speaker 2: Like, do I know you calling from Equinox?
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: That hard up? I feel like you used to have
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: to send in a headshot to get.
- 1:20:31Speaker 2: Into So they like what they see.
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: They want me quick Amendment. Here, the British government, large
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: and security forces were generally seen as back in the
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: Protestants who wanted to remain part of the United Kingdom.
- 1:20:46Speaker 3: That was in Northern Island, So I said, the Catholics,
- 1:20:48Speaker 3: It was the It was the Protestants. Sorry about that?
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: All good, you're forgiven.
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: The British people I'm fucking with the most are the Scousers.
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they're the fucking best one.
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: Let's go to England or Ireland.
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: What kind of chicken and coke?
- 1:21:04Speaker 3: Have you seen that guy who talked to his girlfriend? Yeah,
- 1:21:06Speaker 3: that's so funny.
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: Chicken and coke yeats. Oh that guy's hilarious. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: that guy's so fucking funny. He does that accent perfect. Yeah.
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: At first I thought it was American, but he's Uh,
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: he's British.
- 1:21:23Speaker 3: That makes sense, That makes it.
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: You can't do that accent that that well if you're
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: an American.
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: No, I don't know if I know him.
- 1:21:29Speaker 2: Is he the du that like's always like at the
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: pub and he's always like poor, He's.
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: Like goats some drake, say goats drake.
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: Maybe maybe I have I don't remember.
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: It would have been a while ago. You're doing. You're
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: watching the wrong stuff, you're reading inciting messages on Twitter.
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: We're watching fake English people.
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: What was your book that you read?
- 1:21:50Speaker 3: Some fly fishing book? Nice? Yeah, it's pretty good.
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: Actually is a picture book?
- 1:21:54Speaker 3: No, so I'm reading nineteen eighty four?
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: Is there just a book for every year? Like the
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: books you read? You're like Ambly eighteen sixty four, right
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: now reading nineteen thirty eight.
- 1:22:09Speaker 3: You know nineteen eighty four, don't you, George? Orwell? Yeah,
- 1:22:13Speaker 3: sounds familiar. No, come on, come on stringing a bell
- 1:22:16Speaker 3: that one? You know? No, I don't. You don't know
- 1:22:19Speaker 3: nineteen eighty never heard of it. I hate when people
- 1:22:21Speaker 3: do what I'm doing, which is to be like you condescending.
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: But no, I mean, I'm sure I know.
- 1:22:25Speaker 3: That's the seminal sort of book of the futurism proletariat
- 1:22:31Speaker 3: versus the Man big Brother, like Overwatch, Government Overreach, Overwatch
- 1:22:36Speaker 3: the game.
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: Now you're talking his language, Jesus Christ. But it predicted
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: all the screen stuff that you're talking.
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: Yeah, that's maybe that's what's opened my eyes.
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: That was so predictable and they hit the nail on
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: the head.
- 1:22:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I've reached the part in the book where he
- 1:22:51Speaker 3: actually reads the never mind, I don't even want to
- 1:22:53Speaker 3: get it, say it, say it. He starts reading the
- 1:22:56Speaker 3: book from the Shadow Movement, the Rebellion, I don't even
- 1:23:02Speaker 3: know what it's called, and think he gets his hands
- 1:23:04Speaker 3: on the book, which is their sort of bible of
- 1:23:08Speaker 3: their cause of how to go back against the Big
- 1:23:11Speaker 3: brother people, the Party, and it's so dry that, like,
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: I can't imagine how this book was required reading in
- 1:23:19Speaker 3: high school. Yeah, because there's thirty pages of doctrine in
- 1:23:25Speaker 3: the middle of this book, and I'm like, how did
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: they ever expect us to fucking get to read until
- 1:23:30Speaker 3: we were sixteen?
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: Because well, it was just so conspicuously there was no
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: competition for attention then, true, Like there was no like
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: you're to go to a play if you want to
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: see something that was equally stimulating.
- 1:23:44Speaker 3: Dude. I've read some of the books that we were
- 1:23:47Speaker 3: to have read when we were in high school, and
- 1:23:49Speaker 3: I fundamentally disagree with them as choices for the curriculum. Yeah, Like,
- 1:23:54Speaker 3: I can't imagine how I was expected to read Beloved
- 1:24:00Speaker 3: by Tony Morrison in high school. I don't think is
- 1:24:05Speaker 3: that possible.
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: The books that we read were easy as fuck. It
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: was all just like.
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: The Caterpill, Hungry Caterpillar pretty much Harry.
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: And the Purple Crames. Yeah, yeah, that kind of thing.
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: I survived.
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I read those two. I just later
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: on it got into this like we.
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: Had a class where we had to read like fight
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: Club and Train Spotting in the twenty fifth Hour and
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: shit like that. That's school And that was way more
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: interesting than any of the like.
- 1:24:30Speaker 3: You know, you didn't read any of the Catcher in
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: the Rye. We loved Catcher in the Rye. I did
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: like that. Yeah, anytime I see the ducks in Central
- 1:24:39Speaker 3: Pond in the winter, I think of that book.
- 1:24:41Speaker 2: We had to read, like Tom Sawyer. I liked that
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: a lot. Huck Finn Buck Finn. Yeah, that's great.
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: That was a banger that made me start loving rap music.
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: Facts like that's a great word. Use that word all
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: where else can I find this word? We I remember
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: popcorning that we we had to like popcorn it and
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: say it. Well I didn't, I said it, bro I
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: didn't know. I didn't know. And my class like started, Yeah,
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: they didn't tell us whether to say it or not.
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: And it was like, I think, like it was like
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: a more It was like a John Kenyon is what
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: would you do type of show, where like they were
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: trying to morally test us. Yeah will he won't he?
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: Wow?
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: I threw it around, but I was just like I
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: was reading.
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, our English teacher would be just launching
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: it like you couldn't even imagine. Really, oh dude, and
- 1:25:31Speaker 2: this is like I'm talking like twenty seventeen here, like
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: this is not long ago.
- 1:25:36Speaker 3: Just saying it. The debate had been.
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: This was not a long time ago.
- 1:25:42Speaker 3: Yeah, and uh.
- 1:25:44Speaker 2: Yeah, we didn't say it, like we didn't do the
- 1:25:46Speaker 2: popcorn reading like she would just take the lead and
- 1:25:48Speaker 2: just let it rip.
- 1:25:49Speaker 3: What's popcorn reading when you just.
- 1:25:51Speaker 2: Bounce like this person's going to do a paragraph. This
- 1:25:53Speaker 2: person's going to do a paragraph pretty much the worst
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: way to possibly read.
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: Something, especially a book with landmines.
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: Alternating voices every paragraph. That's a help, that's an easy
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: way to follow along.
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: And we got an Irene cat Seftis can't fucking yeah
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: put together two whereas actually she was the one that
- 1:26:13Speaker 1: skipped the N word and I was like, oh, is
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: that an option?
- 1:26:18Speaker 3: Can we restart? And know?
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: I was singing.
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: They made the choice to not say it after you went.
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: Yes, that's that's exactly what happened, like a fetti wop
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: song and I was singing it.
- 1:26:35Speaker 3: Oh man, all right, cool.
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: Good episode.
- 1:26:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll be in DC, Batavia, Pittsburgh, Houston, and a
- 1:26:46Speaker 3: whole bunch of other spots, including San Francisco. Yes, the
- 1:26:50Speaker 3: San Francisco tickets are not on sale quite yet, but
- 1:26:52Speaker 3: just hold tight on that. Tickets at Punch Up Dot
- 1:26:55Speaker 3: Live slash Francis Hellist.
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: I'm gonna be in Cleveland, Ohio on a Sunday, coming
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: up for two shows. I'm not filming a special there.
- 1:27:05Speaker 2: You need to get that clarified. I was going to
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: film something there and then it was too much, So
- 1:27:12Speaker 2: I'm filming something in New York, not Cleveland. Still doing
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: the shows in Cleveland. We'll see you there.
- 1:27:21Speaker 3: Great was.
- 1:27:38Speaker 7: Still still under ground, so game around. I was only
