- Lucas: Welcome back! You're listening to Learn Danish with Fexingo, and I'm your host, Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. We're so happy you're here with us today. Lucas: Last time we talked about asking for help at the grocery store. That was a good one. Luna: Oh, totally. I'm getting much better at finding things in Danish stores. Lucas: Today, we're focusing on something we all love in the morning: drinks. Specifically, juice and coffee. Luna: Oh, I could use that right now. I'm still waking up. Lucas: Then let's get started. Our first phrase: Jeg vil gerne have et glas juice. Luna: Jeg vil gerne have et glas juice. Lucas: That means 'I would like a glass of juice.' Let's break it down a bit. Jeg vil gerne have – I would like to have. Et glas juice – a glass of juice. Luna: So, if I want orange juice, I just say: Jeg vil gerne have et glas appelsinjuice. Lucas: Exactly. But let's keep it simple for now. Repeat after me: Jeg vil gerne have et glas juice. Luna: Jeg vil gerne have et glas juice. Lucas: Perfect. Now let's try the next one: Jeg vil gerne have en kop kaffe. Luna: Jeg vil gerne have en kop kaffe. Lucas: That's 'I would like a cup of coffee.' En kop kaffe – a cup of coffee. Luna: Jeg vil gerne have en kop kaffe. I think I've got that. Lucas: Great. Now, what if you want something in your coffee? Let's learn: Med mælk og sukker. Luna: Med mælk og sukker. Lucas: That means 'with milk and sugar.' Simple, right? Luna: So I could say: Jeg vil gerne have en kop kaffe med mælk og sukker. Lucas: Exactly. You're already building phrases. Nice job. Luna: Thanks. What if I want more juice? Like, after I've finished my glass. Lucas: Good question. You can say: Må jeg få mere juice? Luna: Må jeg få mere juice? Lucas: That's 'May I have more juice?' You're asking for permission or a refill. Luna: Må jeg få mere juice? I like that. I'll be using that a lot. Lucas: And finally, when you've taken that first sip, you might want to say: Det smager godt. Luna: Det smager godt. Lucas: That means 'It tastes good.' Perfect for complimenting the drink. Luna: Det smager godt. I can definitely use that at breakfast. Lucas: Let's go through all five phrases once more. Listen and repeat. Lucas: Jeg vil gerne have et glas juice. Luna: Jeg vil gerne have et glas juice. Lucas: Jeg vil gerne have en kop kaffe. Luna: Jeg vil gerne have en kop kaffe. Lucas: Med mælk og sukker. Luna: Med mælk og sukker. Lucas: Må jeg få mere juice? Luna: Må jeg få mere juice? Lucas: Det smager godt. Luna: Det smager godt. Lucas: Now let's put it all together in a tiny scene. Imagine you're at a café in Copenhagen, and it's morning. Luna: Okay, I'm sitting by the window, and the waiter comes. I say: Jeg vil gerne have en kop kaffe. Lucas: And the waiter asks if you want anything else. You say: Med mælk og sukker. Luna: Then he brings the coffee, and I take a sip. I say: Det smager godt. Lucas: Nice. And if you want more coffee later, you say: Må jeg få mere kaffe? Luna: Må jeg få mere kaffe? That's perfect. Lucas: Now, before we practice a bit more, I want to mention something. You know, those little moments of learning – they add up. Let's do a quick review. I'll say a phrase, you tell me what it means. Lucas: Jeg vil gerne have et glas juice. Luna: I would like a glass of juice. Lucas: Jeg vil gerne have en kop kaffe. Luna: I would like a cup of coffee. Lucas: Med mælk og sukker. Luna: With milk and sugar. Lucas: Må jeg få mere juice? Luna: May I have more juice? Lucas: Det smager godt. Luna: It tastes good. Lucas: Excellent. You're doing wonderfully. Luna: I'm feeling more confident with these. Can we try a tiny dialogue? Lucas: Sure. I'll be the waiter. You order. Lucas: Godmorgen. Hvad kan jeg tilbyde dig? Luna: Jeg vil gerne have et glas juice. Lucas: Noget andet? Luna: Nej tak. Det er alt. Lucas: Værsgo. Luna: Tak. Lucas: And then after tasting it: Det smager godt. Luna: Det smager godt. Lucas: Perfect. You've got it. Luna: This was a fun episode. I feel like I could order breakfast in Danish now. Lucas: Definitely. Keep practicing these phrases until we meet again. Luna: See you next time, everyone. Tak for i dag. Lucas: Yes, thank you for listening. And remember, more Danish with Fexingo is on the way.
