Speaker 1: and I just kind of owned it. So um yeah, Well,

Speaker 1: you started out, even on Gaping in Rachel's season as

Speaker 1: being kind of like the naked guy you and other

Speaker 1: than not like friends, whereas the ugly naked guy. You're

Speaker 1: were you always that guy amongst your bros? No? I

Speaker 1: was never the guy to go and take my shirt off.

Speaker 1: I mean up until like two years ago, I was

Speaker 1: kind of like chunky and I, you know, I didn't

Speaker 1: really work out, and all of a sudden COVID happened,

Speaker 1: and um, it was like, to be honest, I mean,

Speaker 1: COVID was obviously terrible for a lot of people, but

Speaker 1: for me, it was a time for me just to

Speaker 1: sit back, get in the gym, which again the gyms

Speaker 1: were closed, so I just used my garage and I

Speaker 1: just worked out in there every single day, and it

Speaker 1: became where I said, okay, I lost pounds, um put

Speaker 1: on some muscle, and then from there it was like, okay,

Speaker 1: let's just keep this thing rolling. You either went one

Speaker 1: way or the other during COVID, and I also got fit.

Speaker 1: It was the best. It was the best shape I've

Speaker 1: ever been in. Ben Which way did you go? I

Speaker 1: got fit because I lived at my in law's house

Speaker 1: for most of it and then my parents house for

Speaker 1: some of it. And when you wake up in the

Speaker 1: morning and you're like, what am I gonna do today,

Speaker 1: there's very few excuses not to at least try to

Speaker 1: go get active. My problem was I had more cocktails

Speaker 1: during COVID than ever before because there wasn't like a

Speaker 1: good reason not to it, you know, whatever time the day,

Speaker 1: and so that didn't help my my physique. But I

Speaker 1: worked out hard. I just I don't know, I just don't.

Speaker 1: I can't look like you, Jacob. That's the thing. I

Speaker 1: just can never look like you. It's I mean, to

Speaker 1: be honest, there's plenty of other guys on the show

Speaker 1: that we're better looking to me, had you know, worked

Speaker 1: out even harder than me. I just I feel like

Speaker 1: I just tried to own up to it. And that's

Speaker 1: when I was watching like a clip from your guys

Speaker 1: um podcast, probably like a few weeks ago, and you're

Speaker 1: talking about me a little bit and saying like, yeah,

Speaker 1: Jacob's the guy that's like the Bachelor in Paradise right now.

Speaker 1: And it's probably because he came down and nothing but

Speaker 1: a least, you know, it's like he's fun, he's energetic,

Speaker 1: he's crazy, like who is this guy? Um? And that's

Speaker 1: kind of what you know. I may not be the

Speaker 1: most fit guy, but at least I'm like the most energetic,

Speaker 1: and I don't take myself seriously. I think that's what

Speaker 1: kind of alerts some people or gave some people like

Speaker 1: some like, oh, this guy is actually fun. You know,

Speaker 1: he's not just another you know, the guy that just

Speaker 1: is all about himself or something like that. But here's

Speaker 1: here's my fault to that, because he can go one

Speaker 1: of two ways. Either somebody's gonna be interested and intrigued

Speaker 1: and be like, hey, Jacob's fun and he's into just

Speaker 1: having a good time. Or you can come off as

Speaker 1: the joke of Paradise or the joke of the bachelorette.

Speaker 1: So how did you walk that line? And did you

Speaker 1: do it like consciously, like did you intentionally try to say, hey,

Speaker 1: I I you know, and down for whatever, but I'm

Speaker 1: just not a joke here. So kind of how did

Speaker 1: you balance it? A good question? So, you know what,

Speaker 1: it's hard. It's it's tough because when you come to

Speaker 1: that situation, you know you're gonna be putting everything out there,

Speaker 1: um literally, And it was for me, it was it

Speaker 1: was just being real. It was just being real with people,

Speaker 1: Like I mean, when when I'm communicating with people, when

Speaker 1: I'm talking to them there it's like it is a

Speaker 1: funny joke at the beginning, But I knew that was

Speaker 1: the only told me one day I be wearing that

Speaker 1: outfit and at that point I said, Okay, well I'm

Speaker 1: gonna be a real person, get to know these girls,

Speaker 1: um and be a little bit deeper than that. Like

Speaker 1: I said in the last podcast I was on, you know,

Speaker 1: I have more facets. I have a lot of different

Speaker 1: strengths and it's not just being crazy outgoing. But people

Speaker 1: could read through that. And I know even the guys

Speaker 1: were like, you know, they're joking around, but at the

Speaker 1: end of the day, they that we could have a

Speaker 1: deeper conversation than that. Does it frustrate you that you

Speaker 1: do kind of look like you I don't care what's

Speaker 1: going on, dude. No, not in not in the slightest.

Speaker 1: I I own that part. I love being just the

Speaker 1: guy who just doesn't like I'm just like I'm staring

Speaker 1: off into the distance at something, you know, like I

Speaker 1: just don't never never really cared for that, Like I mean,

Speaker 1: there's always been another person who's done it better than me,

Speaker 1: and I'm just like, all right, whatever, I'll just be

Speaker 1: myself and that's me. Well, you're absolutely harmless, which I

Speaker 1: think is wonderful. Like you're having fun. And I feel

Speaker 1: like even even though Jill is seemingly going to get

Speaker 1: her heartbroken, Uh, and you know, like I know Jill,

Speaker 1: and I just know that she probably she's freaking out now,

Speaker 1: but like you know, I'm sure there's no hard feelings

Speaker 1: that exist currently now. Yeah, So it's like, I don't know,

Speaker 1: I just feel like you're just very playful and sometimes

Speaker 1: play like and I just think that you're just genuinely playful. Okay,

Speaker 1: what was the last time you took a relationship? Really seriously?

Speaker 1: Are we gonna see that that with Kate or are

Speaker 1: we gonna still see more Paradise fun with Kate? Sure?

Speaker 1: coming into Paradise, I didn't look at any of the

Speaker 1: character I didn't look at any of the girls prior

Speaker 1: to I wanted to just come in there with you know,

Speaker 1: a week before we went on our date, and you know,

Speaker 1: on paper we we really were a really great match

Speaker 1: and we and we still are. I believe that Jill

Speaker 1: is such an amazing person. We communicate all the time. Um,

Speaker 1: I don't want to give away too much. But at

Speaker 1: the end of the day, after that moment, I was

Speaker 1: I have always been the person who's going to go

Speaker 1: on the beach and if I find my soul mate,

Speaker 1: I'm going to get on one knee and propose. But

Speaker 1: as you know, actually it's hard. It's hard initially to

Speaker 1: to find your person. You may not know if that

Speaker 1: your person is there before you do, and then you

Speaker 1: I wish I had put pursued more. It's hard out there.

Speaker 1: more intentional. But at the end of the day, I

Speaker 1: felt like I'm not going to lead anybody on either.

Speaker 1: And that's immediately what I you know, with how Jill

Speaker 1: and I were, it's like, I'm not gonna I don't

Speaker 1: want to be the person to go out and cheat

Speaker 1: on you or something like that I want to. I

Speaker 1: want to let you know and give and give it

Speaker 1: to you straight up. You're into quote Taylor Swift casually

Speaker 1: I don't wake up in the morning thinking of Jill.

Speaker 1: That's like a dire for a girl. Do you regret

Speaker 1: saying that or I mean, honestly, it's not really regretful.

Speaker 1: I mean it's super super honest, but it is just

Speaker 1: its harsh. Yeah, that's another good question. It was hurtful. Um,

Speaker 1: Batch threat and from this, I'm brutally honest sometimes. And

Speaker 1: leading Jill on unless you had these feelings before she left,

Speaker 1: just moved on with somebody else. Uh. And I'm you know,

Speaker 1: we don't know how it's gonna play out necessarily and

Speaker 1: how that conversation is gonna look when she does come back.

Speaker 1: But when Jill was the only person on the beach

Speaker 1: for you, were you having these doubts that I miss

Speaker 1: I mean she is she is an amazing person. Um.

Speaker 1: And to be honest, like, I still have some feelings

Speaker 1: for Jill in that you know, romantic way. Um, it's

Speaker 1: it's just really hard because she is such an amazing person.

Speaker 1: I don't want to hurt her in anyway. Um. I

Speaker 1: just in the moment you're having, You're just you're living

Speaker 1: that paradise lifestyle. And I guess I could have done

Speaker 1: it differently, but it was it was so early to tell,

Speaker 1: had been known each other for a couple of nights.

Speaker 1: It was probably the st date I've ever been on,

Speaker 1: But there was moments where I was like, Okay, let's

Speaker 1: right up and getting this bathtub. Jacob, you are saying

Speaker 1: that you still have sort of like romantic, li gering

Speaker 1: feelings her chill. Sounds like you really respected like her

Speaker 1: as a human being. I don't know that somebody who

Speaker 1: ends up with somebody end the paradise would be saying

Speaker 1: such things. So I'm assuming that things that k may

Speaker 1: not be going uh, they may not be uh. You

Speaker 1: might not be ending in paradise with her. That's the

Speaker 1: safest something. And I guess, um, there's a lot of

Speaker 1: be honest, like, this is a very wild paradise. Um,

Speaker 1: And yeah, I wouldn't be saying that if you know,

Speaker 1: if you're happily with somebody maybe yeah, yeah, yeah. I

Speaker 1: don't want to I don't want to learn anything too crazy.

Speaker 1: But you know, again I have a lot of relationships

Speaker 1: on this show. Um and again, like I said before

Speaker 1: and I'll restate it again, I am there for the

Speaker 1: ultimate goal of finding a future partner. You know, in

Speaker 1: that particular case, we are in this same context exploring

Speaker 1: seeing who we match up with the most, who we

Speaker 1: truly like and want to spend the rest of our

Speaker 1: life with. Because when I do propose, I mean I

Speaker 1: want to be one time. You know, I don't want

Speaker 1: or three times or break things off, to be honest, like,

Speaker 1: I want to have that ending type of relationship. So

Speaker 1: I'm gonna explore. I'm gonna see my my options and

Speaker 1: kind of weigh those out, but sometimes to make their

Speaker 1: this particular context, like you don't know what someone's gonna do,
