- 1:03Speaker 2: Oh and we love your emails, you know we do.
- 1:05Speaker 2: It's Megan and Windy at gmail dot com. However, I
- 1:08Speaker 2: don't think we have any emails today, but we did
- 1:11Speaker 2: get a little bit of feedback regarding our review from
- 1:16Speaker 2: It wasn't last week, but the last movie reviewed it
- 1:19Speaker 2: was last week?
- 1:20Speaker 1: Was it?
- 1:20Speaker 2: I can't even remember now, but it was Baby It's
- 1:23Speaker 2: Cold Inside m not a movie I really liked so much.
- 1:29Speaker 2: I think I gave it zero stars. But we did
- 1:31Speaker 2: get some feedback that I don't remember exactly what it said,
- 1:36Speaker 2: do you, Megan Uh?
- 1:38Speaker 1: It said Hallmark movie one on one, they all have
- 1:43Speaker 1: the same storyline and you have to go into the
- 1:45Speaker 1: movie knowing it's going to be cheesy.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Okay, that is fair, that's a fair assessment. I think
- 1:53Speaker 2: there is a part of that you have to you know,
- 1:57Speaker 2: drop what did they say, you have to drop a
- 2:00Speaker 2: suspend reality since that's the word suspend reality for a
- 2:04Speaker 2: lot of things. I get that, but I just can't.
- 2:12Speaker 2: I know the Hallmark movies are supposed to be this way,
- 2:15Speaker 2: but I could still be critical of them. I don't
- 2:20Speaker 2: love cheesy movies, and that's why I'm here on this
- 2:24Speaker 2: podcast to tell you I don't love.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Cheese well, and I think, to be fair, there have
- 2:29Speaker 1: been a number of movies that we've quite enjoy Taking
- 2:33Speaker 1: a shot at love we loved, as luck would have it,
- 2:36Speaker 1: we loved. There have been movies that we've really enjoyed.
- 2:40Speaker 1: So it's not the you know, even Wendy, who is
- 2:42Speaker 1: a self professed Hallmark hater, can't appreciate a Hallmark movie.
- 2:47Speaker 1: That movie was bad, guys last week. Some of them
- 2:51Speaker 1: are just bad.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Some of them are just bad.
- 2:53Speaker 1: I don't make a hotel. The character in your movie
- 2:58Speaker 1: should be Hallmark movie.
- 2:59Speaker 2: One on one, I agree. All right, let's talk about
- 3:02Speaker 2: Sweet Carolina because this one spoiler alert I thought.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Was pretty good. Good. Let's go with news and notes.
- 3:10Speaker 1: I have a question for you. Yeah, do you know
- 3:14Speaker 1: how many movies prior to this one Lacey Schabert has
- 3:17Speaker 1: been in. I'm going to be sad if you also
- 3:19Speaker 1: found this. Okay, wait, let me think how old could
- 3:22Speaker 1: she be? I would guess she's in her mid thirties.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Okay, I don't know. Fifteen. This is her.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Twenty sixth Hallmark movie.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Wow, that's a lot of movies. I mean, I feel
- 3:36Speaker 2: like that's more than one a year. That's like three
- 3:38Speaker 2: a year. Two.
- 3:40Speaker 1: We've seen her in several this year. We have well, I.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Have okay, I can't remember. I can't remember.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Eight years old.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Wow, born in nice Little Claudia.
- 3:54Speaker 1: She executive produced this movie. And she specifically chick our
- 4:00Speaker 1: friend Heini for this role. And we hear that a
- 4:03Speaker 1: lot that sometimes in the actresses cast first or in
- 4:06Speaker 1: the actress plays a lead, like a strong role in
- 4:10Speaker 1: the movie where they have a little bit of say
- 4:12Speaker 1: that they specifically ask for the actor, and as often
- 4:18Speaker 1: our buddy Tyler Hines when they get to ask.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Well, duh. He's like the George Clooney of Hallmark Movies.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Of course, Like I feel like I've had this conversation before,
- 4:26Speaker 2: Like he draws an audience. Of course, you're going to
- 4:30Speaker 2: pick the guy that draws the audience to watch your movie.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Like Sprakuler. He did not disappoint me in this movie.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Okay, we'll talk about him in a bit. I have
- 4:39Speaker 2: a little bit of news and notes. Did you know
- 4:42Speaker 2: that Lacey how do you say her name? Shaber?
- 4:44Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 4:45Speaker 2: Okay, she developed the story for this movie.
- 4:48Speaker 1: I saw that.
- 4:50Speaker 2: That's pretty amazing. She didn't like write it. She didn't
- 4:52Speaker 2: write the teleplay, but like she and somebody else like
- 4:54Speaker 2: developed the story. So I think that's like I would
- 4:57Speaker 2: equate that too, Like, Hey, I want to build a
- 5:01Speaker 2: building and then like an architect comes up.
- 5:04Speaker 1: With the plants. Yeah, this is what I wanted to
- 5:06Speaker 1: look at.
- 5:07Speaker 2: You make it happen, Yeah, exactly. But I think that's cool.
- 5:10Speaker 2: I'm excited about that.
- 5:13Speaker 1: What else, so you may recognize Delilah. The actress Cassidy
- 5:17Speaker 1: Nugent was also in Chasing Waterfalls.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Oh, that was the daughter m Oh, she was terrible
- 5:24Speaker 2: in Chasing Waterfalls. I thought she was pretty good in
- 5:26Speaker 2: this one though.
- 5:27Speaker 1: I did too. And Virgin River fans will recognize character
- 5:30Speaker 1: Kate Wilder as actress Terrell Rothery. She plays a strong
- 5:35Speaker 1: role in Virgin River. She's also been in a number
- 5:37Speaker 1: of shows. But as soon as I saw her, like,
- 5:40Speaker 1: I pinged with recognition. And what I was remembering her
- 5:43Speaker 1: from was Virgin River, which is on Netflix and has
- 5:46Speaker 1: a bit of a Hallmark feel to it. It's been
- 5:48Speaker 1: described that way. I do think it has a little
- 5:51Speaker 1: more bite than your standard Hallmark movie. But Hallmark fans
- 5:55Speaker 1: may enjoy.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Who'd you play in this movie?
- 5:58Speaker 1: The mom?
- 5:59Speaker 2: Oh? The mom? Yeah, who was so put together? I
- 6:03Speaker 2: just loved her look.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Actually, yeah, I had read that the actor who played Tony,
- 6:10Speaker 3: her boyfriend, Uh huh, Peter Benson, is also the director
- 6:13Speaker 3: of this movie.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Oh fun.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Yeah, anyway, this movie was to take place in North Carolina,
- 6:20Speaker 2: but it was actually filmed you know, guess Merret Meghan.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Where was it filmed in?
- 6:23Speaker 1: Vinada, British Vancouver, and Mabel Ridge.
- 6:27Speaker 2: So we were talking off air before we started recording
- 6:32Speaker 2: that the name of this movie is called Sweet Carolina,
- 6:34Speaker 2: but we we don't know what that was in reference to,
- 6:38Speaker 2: and the only thing I can connect the dots is
- 6:42Speaker 2: that it took place in North Carolina. I think they
- 6:47Speaker 2: could have come up with a better name.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Yeah, that fell apart a little bit. I think perhaps
- 6:51Speaker 1: the idea of coming home was meant to play a
- 6:54Speaker 1: bigger role in the movie, because that is one of
- 6:58Speaker 1: the bigger themes that Josie does come home. But I
- 7:02Speaker 1: don't feel like they played the North Carolina as home
- 7:07Speaker 1: strong enough for that to be the name of this movie.
- 7:09Speaker 2: I agree, I agree.
- 7:13Speaker 1: What were your first impressions of this movie?
- 7:15Speaker 2: Well, I really liked that it broke, for the most part,
- 7:20Speaker 2: away from the Hallmark norm the template that we are
- 7:25Speaker 2: so used to seeing. The standout movies to me are
- 7:28Speaker 2: the ones that don't follow the same formula trajectory formula. Yes, Also,
- 7:34Speaker 2: I was very invested in Josie's character and her life's
- 7:37Speaker 2: decisions and would not want to be in her shoes
- 7:42Speaker 2: at all. So yeah, my first impressions are that I
- 7:45Speaker 2: liked it. What about you?
- 7:47Speaker 1: I also enjoyed it for the same reasons you mentioned.
- 7:49Speaker 1: I like that it went a little bit of a
- 7:52Speaker 1: different way. We'll talk a little bit more about what
- 7:54Speaker 1: we liked, but overall, I enjoyed this movie me too,
- 7:59Speaker 1: all right, So specifically, what did you like?
- 8:02Speaker 2: In a kind two I mentioned I really enjoyed the cast?
- 8:07Speaker 2: M hm. I just think you cannot go wrong with
- 8:10Speaker 2: Lacey and Tyler at all. I mean, like you said, like,
- 8:14Speaker 2: of course she wanted him in this role as Cooper,
- 8:16Speaker 2: and uh, who wouldn't. I feel like Lacey is a
- 8:20Speaker 2: like a higher tier Hallwark actress.
- 8:24Speaker 1: You know, if like you know, there's like, yeah, she
- 8:27Speaker 1: and Candice Cameron are right up there together.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Right like they're high tier. And I'm not even gonna
- 8:34Speaker 2: say who I think is a low tier, but I
- 8:36Speaker 2: think you might know. So I enjoy I'm drawn to
- 8:41Speaker 2: the movies that have like I feel like there's going
- 8:44Speaker 2: to be a depth from an actor who has like experience.
- 8:50Speaker 2: I don't know, it does not any of that.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Make sense one hundred percent?
- 8:54Speaker 2: All right? What did you like? I liked a bunch
- 8:56Speaker 2: of things, but I want to hear some of yours. Well,
- 8:58Speaker 2: I like that they develop the entire cast. Every single
- 9:03Speaker 2: character kind of had a trajectory and a story to
- 9:05Speaker 2: be told, and it all played well together. We know
- 9:08Speaker 2: sometimes that we give these supporting characters stories that don't
- 9:13Speaker 2: necessarily play into the overall storyline, and I think they
- 9:16Speaker 2: did a good job. The brother had, you know, good
- 9:19Speaker 2: character growth, the relationship she had with her dad. I
- 9:22Speaker 2: thought they really brought all of that together well. And
- 9:26Speaker 2: it was more of an ensemble cast as opposed to
- 9:29Speaker 2: a hallmark romance. Well right, so hold on, I'm looking
- 9:34Speaker 2: for that note. That's what I really liked about this
- 9:40Speaker 2: movie is that the story was about Josie. It wasn't
- 9:44Speaker 2: about Josie and Cooper and their buddying romance, like that
- 9:48Speaker 2: was all secondary to the overall story. And I just
- 9:52Speaker 2: thought it was such a nice departure.
- 9:55Speaker 1: They loved it. I liked that they didn't feel the
- 9:59Speaker 1: need to run the relationship. We just to the beginning
- 10:02Speaker 1: of it and that's okay. That's where they were in
- 10:04Speaker 1: this movie. The main storyline about Josie choosing to stay
- 10:08Speaker 1: home and parent these kids, I felt like was the
- 10:12Speaker 1: story that we needed resolution and it's okay that we're
- 10:14Speaker 1: just getting the beginning of the next part, right, I.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Think so too, and oh so on imdbat. The reviews
- 10:20Speaker 2: were like, oh, this needs to be a series because
- 10:22Speaker 2: now we need to sew and we need to see
- 10:24Speaker 2: what happens to you know, Cooper and Josie and blah
- 10:27Speaker 2: blah blah blah whatever, which I would I would totally
- 10:31Speaker 2: be down with that. Sure. The fact that Tyler Hines
- 10:34Speaker 2: played kind of a secondary role kind of surprised me. Yeah,
- 10:39Speaker 2: I mean, I know he was top billed for this movie,
- 10:42Speaker 2: but like he wasn't so much part of I don't know.
- 10:50Speaker 2: I just kind of surprised that he took a role
- 10:52Speaker 2: like that. But I liked a minute And tell me
- 10:55Speaker 2: what you said that you liked so much about him?
- 10:58Speaker 1: Well, I just I like his acting is very subtle,
- 11:04Speaker 1: and the things that get me are just the way
- 11:06Speaker 1: he throws a line away every now and then, and
- 11:08Speaker 1: I believe it. I feel like he would be fun
- 11:10Speaker 1: to talk to him a life like. I think he's
- 11:12Speaker 1: probably funny because he kind of plays that natural comedy.
- 11:17Speaker 1: There's a line when she thinks he's proposing and he's
- 11:20Speaker 1: just asking to borrow the truck, and he goes, what
- 11:25Speaker 1: do you think we're talking about? She goes marriage and
- 11:27Speaker 1: he goes what, like just his tiny little what was
- 11:31Speaker 1: played so perfectly and if he didn't catch it, It's
- 11:34Speaker 1: definitely worth going back and watching Okay because it struck me.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Well, he gives me Tim McGraw vibes.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know what it is.
- 11:44Speaker 2: I like him too. And what I really liked about
- 11:46Speaker 2: this role for him is every other Tyler Hines movie
- 11:51Speaker 2: that I have seen this past year, he always is
- 11:54Speaker 2: this jerk off, like he is snarky and not so
- 11:58Speaker 2: nice and thinks he's right about everything. It's like a
- 12:02Speaker 2: lot of like mel toxic masculinity. Right, This was not
- 12:08Speaker 2: that role for him. He was kind. He was caring,
- 12:14Speaker 2: Like that scene when he sees her at like the
- 12:17Speaker 2: sister's like wake or whatever, and he's like, how are
- 12:21Speaker 2: you and she's like starts rattling off about the kids.
- 12:23Speaker 2: He's like, no, how are you? And I was like,
- 12:26Speaker 2: oh my god, and my husband walked in he goes,
- 12:30Speaker 2: are you crying? And I was like, I'm not crying
- 12:33Speaker 2: at this movie. Yeah, he did it for me too
- 12:38Speaker 2: in this movie. I really enjoy him as an actor.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Do you have anything else you liked, Yeah, I do okay,
- 12:45Speaker 1: I do okay.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Gregory Harrison played her dad. He's been in a ton
- 12:51Speaker 2: of stuff, like forever, right, I don't know when he
- 12:54Speaker 2: turned into a grandpa with gray hair, but he's been
- 12:57Speaker 2: in a ton of stuff. But he was such an
- 12:59Speaker 2: asshole in this role. Like I hated her dad, Like
- 13:03Speaker 2: I don't really like have these kind of feelings towards characters,
- 13:09Speaker 2: but maybe it just like struck a nerve for me.
- 13:11Speaker 2: I was like, you're so mean to her, like, and
- 13:15Speaker 2: she and you could see she was questioning, why is
- 13:19Speaker 2: he mad at me? He's disappointed in me, blah blah
- 13:21Speaker 2: blah blah blah blah blah whatever, And I just was like,
- 13:24Speaker 2: I really thought it was good acting.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Yes, I believed it, and I was upset with him
- 13:31Speaker 1: and I didn't like the way he treated her, And
- 13:33Speaker 1: I'm glad they had a whole arc where they brought
- 13:35Speaker 1: it home and she has a conversation with him and
- 13:38Speaker 1: they come to an understanding. But yes, I agree, I
- 13:41Speaker 1: believed him as the disappointed dad, yeah, who didn't not even.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Her right, And then finally the scene at the very
- 13:50Speaker 2: top when she gets the phone call that her sister
- 13:53Speaker 2: has been killed. She brought it lazy sh schbrae whatever.
- 14:00Speaker 2: She was so good it was it brought me to tears.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Is that when you cried too?
- 14:07Speaker 1: There when she walks into the house and she sees
- 14:10Speaker 1: her mom. Yeah, she goes upstairs to Delilah, and you know,
- 14:15Speaker 1: you can just I thought Delilah's acting was great in
- 14:18Speaker 1: that moment where you can tell she's just kind of crushed,
- 14:21Speaker 1: that whole montage of moments where it's very fresh. And
- 14:26Speaker 1: then of course at her the funeral services, and then
- 14:32Speaker 1: I was a little worried. I was like, am I
- 14:33Speaker 1: going to cry through this entire thing?
- 14:35Speaker 2: And I did not?
- 14:35Speaker 1: That kind of that was it. Once we moved on,
- 14:38Speaker 1: I was not crying anymore. But it did. I cried.
- 14:42Speaker 2: It was a legit movie, all right. So what'd you
- 14:45Speaker 2: wish for?
- 14:47Speaker 1: Well? As much as I liked that we just see
- 14:51Speaker 1: the beginning of their relationship and I think that was
- 14:53Speaker 1: appropriate for this movie, it did leave me wishing for more.
- 14:56Speaker 1: I want more Josie and Cooper. And like you said,
- 14:59Speaker 1: I would be quite open to a sequel.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I wonder, Yeah, they could totally do a sequel
- 15:05Speaker 2: for this movie or a series or something. I don't
- 15:09Speaker 2: think these two actors would do a series, but definitely
- 15:12Speaker 2: a sequel. And because since it's not tied to like
- 15:15Speaker 2: a seasonal, it's not a seasonal movie, they can like
- 15:19Speaker 2: drop it anywhere. Yeah. I liked it. I wish that
- 15:22Speaker 2: they didn't need the Tony storyline. Her boyfriend Tony, who
- 15:26Speaker 2: was like busy with work and then he like calls
- 15:29Speaker 2: and he's like such a jerk. I'm like, her sister
- 15:32Speaker 2: just died, dude, She's not rushing back to New York
- 15:35Speaker 2: to be with you, who You're never home anyway, so
- 15:39Speaker 2: what the heck?
- 15:40Speaker 1: I thought their breakup was so awkward, And I think
- 15:42Speaker 1: that's such a good point we always have when they
- 15:46Speaker 1: find any relationship, we often have them already in a
- 15:48Speaker 1: relationship that's not good for one reason or another. And
- 15:51Speaker 1: I don't think we needed that. But and their breakup
- 15:55Speaker 1: was so awkward when she calls and he's like, this
- 15:56Speaker 1: isn't working for me. But of course she's not rush back.
- 16:00Speaker 1: She has these two children now, and then she finally goes,
- 16:06Speaker 1: I think this is over, like well.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Yeah, but then he's but he also says, like I
- 16:12Speaker 2: think we know it's been over for a while, where
- 16:14Speaker 2: why are you calling her to get her back to town? Then?
- 16:17Speaker 1: Like that didn't right, Petty? Since right, when are you
- 16:20Speaker 1: coming back so I can break up you in person?
- 16:21Speaker 2: Yeah, like have a little sympathy, dude. Yeah, and I was.
- 16:26Speaker 2: I didn't like him. Also, I need some explanation on
- 16:29Speaker 2: Tyler's hair.
- 16:29Speaker 1: Now.
- 16:30Speaker 2: I know I talked about this in every movie. I
- 16:33Speaker 2: just can't figure it out. To me, it looks like
- 16:36Speaker 2: he's growing it out like long, which is fine, but
- 16:40Speaker 2: he just has like a massive head of hair. I think.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Well, I was looking at his Instagram and there's a
- 16:48Speaker 1: photo I don't know when it was taken where the
- 16:51Speaker 1: sides of his head are shaved. Oh, but it's longer
- 16:54Speaker 1: on top, and I wondered if they were trying because
- 16:58Speaker 1: like maybe that wasn't the look, like the hip look
- 17:01Speaker 1: that they needed for.
- 17:03Speaker 2: This high school basketball Yeah whatever.
- 17:06Speaker 1: They just kind of like it was like a combover
- 17:09Speaker 1: situation where they're trying to cover up, and so they
- 17:12Speaker 1: kept it long on top because we've seen it where
- 17:16Speaker 1: he has long hair but it's tamed, and in this case,
- 17:20Speaker 1: it was not tamed. It was just kind of like
- 17:21Speaker 1: a shaggy long hair look and look I enjoy Tyler
- 17:27Speaker 1: Hines quite a bit. I have objectified him many times
- 17:31Speaker 1: on this podcast. But yes, his hair was a mystery
- 17:36Speaker 1: to me, and I did find myself looking at it
- 17:38Speaker 1: quite a.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Bit, and it looks so much darker than it has
- 17:41Speaker 2: been in other movies too, So yeah, maybe maybe there
- 17:45Speaker 2: was something going on there. I don't know. I wouldn't
- 17:48Speaker 2: mind running my fingers through it. But I mean, I
- 17:51Speaker 2: think we're officially heinies. Megan hashtag old ladies for heinee.
- 17:56Speaker 2: So that's funny.
- 18:01Speaker 1: Did you see that?
- 18:04Speaker 2: Yes, I have a couple.
- 18:06Speaker 1: I liked her mirror to do list. I thought, oh,
- 18:08Speaker 1: I should do that in the morning when I.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Oh, my my god, Megan, you know, it is so funny.
- 18:13Speaker 2: When I saw that, I was like, oh, they're talking
- 18:15Speaker 2: Megan's language here. She probably loves that so much.
- 18:18Speaker 1: I love a to do list, another one that like
- 18:20Speaker 1: stares me in the face. Literally, I'm totally doing that
- 18:23Speaker 1: putting a whiteboard marker in my grawer.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I think you should. Okay, did you notice while
- 18:30Speaker 2: they were baking cookies that there was candy jars on
- 18:33Speaker 2: the countertop? I did, but they were filled with candies
- 18:37Speaker 2: that you wouldn't put in cookies, and I swear candies, Yes,
- 18:41Speaker 2: I swear. I saw runs and Life Savers and then
- 18:45Speaker 2: I saw M and ms, which okay, fine, but like
- 18:48Speaker 2: when you don't put those other candies and cookies, I
- 18:50Speaker 2: would be terrible.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Agree. I noticed. I thought it was maybe just for
- 18:54Speaker 1: color and filling in the table, but yeah, and.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Yes, it looked beautiful, but no, you don't put the candies.
- 19:00Speaker 2: Did you notice too? You know they had the flower
- 19:04Speaker 2: scene right that, you know flower when they were throwing
- 19:08Speaker 2: the flower aking flower. Okay, I think recently we talked
- 19:13Speaker 2: about this happening in another movie and you're like, that's
- 19:16Speaker 2: the driest pantry I've ever seen, right, yeah.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Okay, riest food fight.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Yes, well I know this is like a food fight too,
- 19:24Speaker 2: but it's just with the flower. But Lacey ship whatever,
- 19:28Speaker 2: I can't I'm just gonna call her Lacey because I
- 19:30Speaker 2: cannot say her last name. Anyway, she gets nailed in
- 19:33Speaker 2: the face with flower, and like, I think it's a
- 19:36Speaker 2: legit nailing because her reaction was like so startled, and
- 19:41Speaker 2: I laughed out loud. I thought it was so funny.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I liked that, and I also like that there's
- 19:49Speaker 1: no dialogue in that moment. Once they start, they're just
- 19:51Speaker 1: like laughing. Because the issue we had in the other
- 19:55Speaker 1: movie is they get into the food fight. There's a
- 19:57Speaker 1: flubbed line. I'm certain of it. They leave it in
- 20:00Speaker 1: the movie because at this point they're dirty. They don't
- 20:02Speaker 1: want to reset the scene. It was a smart move
- 20:04Speaker 1: to just have this be a playful scene because there's
- 20:06Speaker 1: nothing to really ruin, right, Like you can just add
- 20:10Speaker 1: the funny flower throwing, right They just you know, told
- 20:15Speaker 1: them to go for it. So I enjoyed that scene.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Now as a watcher, I was like, I would die
- 20:19Speaker 2: if that was my kitchen.
- 20:21Speaker 1: I was so pissed if.
- 20:23Speaker 2: People threw flower in my kitchen.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Yes, I left her ring light on her video call.
- 20:30Speaker 2: Oh my god, that's so funny. Only we would notice
- 20:33Speaker 2: something like that.
- 20:33Speaker 1: It was huge. Did you see it?
- 20:35Speaker 2: I don't know if I really did or not.
- 20:37Speaker 1: I can't remember. I had a full tabletop ring light,
- 20:40Speaker 1: and I thought you came here like in a rush.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Did you actually pack your ring light? Did somebody here
- 20:47Speaker 1: have one? Did you run out and get one? But
- 20:49Speaker 1: I did appreciate that dedication to the good video call lighting.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought it was so funny when she went
- 20:56Speaker 2: to pick those kids up from school and she was
- 20:58Speaker 2: dressed from the top up, and I thought like, that
- 21:02Speaker 2: wasn't I didn't think it was going to be a
- 21:04Speaker 2: dress because I was like, oh, of course, that makes
- 21:06Speaker 2: perfect sense, Like she was only from the top up.
- 21:09Speaker 2: You know, that's why she's wearing sweats. But then the
- 21:11Speaker 2: mom calls her out on it, and it was a
- 21:13Speaker 2: very funny line. I thought, like, everybody who's been home
- 21:16Speaker 2: for the last year and who has done zoom calls
- 21:18Speaker 2: knows you're not gonna get fully dressed.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Yeah, And it was such a mom thing to be like,
- 21:23Speaker 1: let's go fix your outfit.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Yeah, it was super funny.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Did you notice towards the end of the movie, she
- 21:28Speaker 1: gets out of bed and she's sleeping in her robe.
- 21:31Speaker 2: Over No, No, do you do that?
- 21:33Speaker 1: I know you use I use a robe. You put
- 21:36Speaker 1: it on when you get out of bed.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Yeah, no, why would you be And unless it was
- 21:40Speaker 2: very cold, I don't know.
- 21:43Speaker 3: Uh.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Did you notice when she when she blew the circuit
- 21:46Speaker 2: breaker or whatever with her hair iron and whatever, and
- 21:51Speaker 2: she's like this, I knew this old house. Would it
- 21:54Speaker 2: be able to handle this? I was like, it's not
- 21:56Speaker 2: an old house, Like, there's a plenty fine house that
- 22:00Speaker 2: be able to handle a circuit breaker.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Yes, there's nothing about that house that makes it look old.
- 22:04Speaker 2: No, nothing, That's all I have. Do you have anything
- 22:09Speaker 2: else I do? Via IMDb there somebody had noted that
- 22:13Speaker 2: there's a flashback scene when the sister and her the
- 22:17Speaker 2: sister was pregnant and they were taking photos. The sister
- 22:21Speaker 2: has the same phone case as the one that the
- 22:23Speaker 2: mom pulled out of her purse, where she's like, Oh,
- 22:26Speaker 2: it's so and So's phone.
- 22:28Speaker 1: What do I do with it?
- 22:29Speaker 2: Yeah, same phone case. But we're supposed to believe this
- 22:34Speaker 2: is like years and years apart. You know.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Well, I did appreciation their dedication to those flashback scenes
- 22:39Speaker 1: into having so many photos family photos and photos of
- 22:43Speaker 1: the sisters. It's just a nice little added detail that
- 22:47Speaker 1: they actually took the photos and put them in frames
- 22:49Speaker 1: and it wasn't just Lazy's childhood photos. It was like
- 22:53Speaker 1: the cast and they yeah, staged it to make them
- 22:55Speaker 1: look younger and different stages of life.
- 22:58Speaker 2: I like that.
- 22:58Speaker 1: I agree. What would you rate this movie?
- 23:03Speaker 2: Megan? I rate this a three and a half star movie.
- 23:07Speaker 1: WHOA I only gave it three. What's rest I don't
- 23:11Speaker 1: know why. I'm very arbitrary. There's no rules.
- 23:14Speaker 2: I know, I know, so I think, oh wait, hold on,
- 23:19Speaker 2: I have to tell you something. Remind me after. I
- 23:21Speaker 2: think it was a universal story of grief. It can
- 23:25Speaker 2: be played throughout the year. It had great acting, it
- 23:27Speaker 2: was a great story, and it broke from the Hallmark template.
- 23:30Speaker 2: That's why I gave it such a high rating. I
- 23:32Speaker 2: loved it.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I started watching and it I will admit. We've
- 23:36Speaker 1: talked about this before. You know, these movies come on
- 23:39Speaker 1: over the weekend, and sometimes watching them over the weekend
- 23:41Speaker 1: feels a little bit like a chore. But I started
- 23:46Speaker 1: watching and I didn't want to stop, Like I wanted
- 23:48Speaker 1: to just sit there and watch this full two hour movie.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Me too. I highly recommend it, me too for the.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Non Hallmark fan Like, even if you're not a reg
- 24:00Speaker 1: Hallmark watcher, I think you might enjoy this one.
- 24:02Speaker 2: I think so too.
- 24:03Speaker 1: All Right, guys, we've talked about this in the past,
- 24:06Speaker 1: but Hallmarks system of announcing their upcoming movies is imperfect.
- 24:12Speaker 1: So the research that I have done this morning via
- 24:15Speaker 1: the app and via their website, and you can email
- 24:18Speaker 1: us and correct me if I'm wrong, tells me that
- 24:20Speaker 1: between now and June fifth, when Summer Night starts, there
- 24:23Speaker 1: is no currently scheduled original programming. We've been wrong in
- 24:28Speaker 1: the past, but my understanding is we have a two
- 24:30Speaker 1: week break. We will be back the week of June
- 24:32Speaker 1: fifth with the first of the Summer Night's movies.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Yes, you had me at Aloha, and I'm very excited
- 24:40Speaker 2: because I love me Hawaii so me too, and it
- 24:42Speaker 2: just has.
- 24:43Speaker 1: All those summer cute sundress umbrella in your drink vibes
- 24:48Speaker 1: going for it. I'm ready, especially after the Ice Hotel
- 24:51Speaker 1: movie last week. So there will be a two week
- 24:54Speaker 1: break from Girls Gone Hallmark, but never you fear, we
- 24:57Speaker 1: will be back until then. Make sure to check out
- 25:00Speaker 1: our regular podcasts every Tuesday. Those aren't going anywhere. Have
- 25:03Speaker 1: a great weekend, everybody. Goodbye bye
