- 2:23There is controversy that has brewed in North Texas. I am specifically discussing
- 2:34the Sherman Independent School District. Okay, it is never good in my experience,
- 2:39it is never good for a Texas school district to make national news.
- 2:45I don't think a Texas school district has ever made national news for something good.
- 2:51The old maybe when they do those solar powered race things at Texas Motor
- 2:58Speedway, but I'm not even sure that makes national news. Local news.
- 3:01Yes, it's where the kids have like an engineering program and they go and
- 3:05make like these solar cars and they see how many times it can go around
- 3:08the track at TMS. I've never heard of that. Okay, so then
- 3:15that's definitely not national stuff. But then again, you went to Mesquite schools
- 3:16rash that that is true. I think that was reserved for like I think
- 3:22like the south Lake kids. Yeah for sure, yeah, like now south
- 3:25Lake has made national news, but it definitely was not for the engineering students.
- 3:30Mosquite just discovered fire. So that's it said it was a national national
- 3:38scandal or something happened with the national I just saw the first thing. I
- 3:43think when you say that in North Texas, I was like, did Randy
- 3:46Travis show up naked and drunk in a church? Again? Look what happened?
- 3:49Uh? You know what though, if he did, right now he
- 3:53has he has the excuse on his side. Yeah. When you have when
- 3:57you have a stroke of that magnitude, you can do anything you want because
- 4:00they go, well, it's always Randy Travis stroke. No, I'll set
- 4:17them up tree, you knock them down. No, you really can't.
- 4:36Uh that I could that. We're gonna see him on the news tomorrows.
- 4:44Like Mall said, I can do it podcast that I get away with anything
- 4:46I want because I had a massive stroke. Ignorance is not a defense of
- 4:54breaking the law. I've learned that from a rock and roll attorney, Evert
- 4:58Newton. Yeah, or unless you're a super wealthy, then sometimes I can
- 5:01actually work in your favor. I didn't know money laundering and tax evasion,
- 5:05and you know insider training was illegal. There is controversy in North Texas.
- 5:15If you guys heard about what's going on in Sherman No perfect, Well,
- 5:23a transgender Texas student was kicked out of the lead role of his high school
- 5:27musical after the principal introduced a new gender casting policy. Yes, I did
- 5:31read about this, So the short version, in addition to what I just
- 5:36said, the trans student has been kicked out of the lead role of the
- 5:40high school production of Oklahoma over a gender policy. You know this. This,
- 5:46This is where I go back to saying it's never a good thing when
- 5:49a Texas or really any school district goes national. The good stuff stays local,
- 5:55the bad stuff goes national, and in this case, it may end
- 5:58up going international because news is international these days. But Max high Tower,
- 6:03as senior at Sherman High School, learned just last month that he landed the
- 6:08starring male role in the school's production of Oklahoma. But the seventeen year old's
- 6:14excitement did not last long. Max's father, Phillip says to NBC five,
- 6:18I'm not an activist. I'm not highly political. I have both liberal and
- 6:23conservative beliefs. I'm just a dad that wants to fight for his kid.
- 6:27Two weeks after Max was cast his family was notified by the school's principle of
- 6:30a new policy about casting by gender, and High Tower, as well as
- 6:33other students, lost their roles in the production. Philip the dad said,
- 6:40and he said, we're instituting a new policy where only males can play males
- 6:44and only females can play females. The Sherman isd said the performance of Oklahoma
- 6:48will be under review and has been postponed to January of next year. The
- 6:54district set in a statement there is no policy on how students are assigned to
- 6:59roles, although it sounds like there is, so go figure. The district
- 7:04explained that the production was under review because it contained mature adult themes, profane
- 7:09language, and sexual content. Unfortunately, all aspects of the production need to
- 7:14be reviewed, including content, stage, production, and props casting as well
- 7:16to ensure that the production is appropriate for the high school stage. They're doing
- 7:21Oklahoma. Yeah, yes, I'm trying to think of what's inappropriate in the
- 7:26musical Okla. The whole thing it sucks. That's not right, Trey,
- 7:33remember the last episode. It's not necessarily that something sucks. It's just not
- 7:38your cup of tea, just because it's your homeland. Just because it's your
- 7:41homeland. But let's not. No, don't you dare. Don't you dare
- 7:46force that on me, Trey. I can't help where I was born.
- 7:49I can help where I live, and I have clearly rectified that. Yeah,
- 7:54but you also said St. Thomas, sorry St. John Now Trey,
- 8:01not Tulsa. When my mom took me when my parents divorced when I
- 8:05was nine and we moved from northeastern Oklahoma to Dallas. At first, I
- 8:11was very upset, and after a few years I was still upset because I
- 8:15miss my dad. But then I realized this is way better. Texas was
- 8:18way better than Oklahoma. Oklahoma, especially the part where I lived for a
- 8:22short period of time. The fact that someone made a musical out of the
- 8:26state is probably the most shocking thing. But you know, it's been almost
- 8:28one hundred years since the play that the musical was inspired by came out.
- 8:37Yeah, I mean I thought the first production of Oklahoma was like musically was
- 8:41in the fifties. I mean it's for film. Yes, it won an
- 8:46Oscar in nineteen fifty five for the first movie adaptation of the musical Oklahoma.
- 8:52And because of this story, I now know more about the musical production of
- 8:54Oklahoma than I ever wanted to know. But here we are. I learned
- 8:58it, and now I'm going to force it upon you. Guys. Well,
- 9:00we're not really worried about that. Dan. In about an hour,
- 9:01you'll forget it all. So it's all good. While I remember it,
- 9:05I'm going to make you hear. So. It was based on a play
- 9:09that came out in nineteen thirty one In Oklahoma is a set in pre statehood
- 9:16Claire Moore, Oklahoma, and it set in nineteen oh six, and then
- 9:24it eventually became a stage production in the forties, and then a movie in
- 9:30the fifties which it won an Oscar and countless stuff since then to where either
- 9:35you love it or as Trey says, it sucks because it's about Oklahoma.
- 9:37I guarantee you. Had it been a musical about the Texas Longhorns, Trey
- 9:41would be marching up and down Main Street Oklahoma's you could call it Texas and
- 9:48it still would suck. It's just a crappy musical. I mean, and
- 9:52I am someone I grew up. My grandmother loved the Dallas summer musicals.
- 9:56I grew up. I went to I saw some great. Got to see
- 10:01You'll Brenner, Carol Channing. Anyway, Oklahoma is just a awful music.
- 10:05I mean, it's just sucks. It's old and it sucks. What is
- 10:09your favorite musical? Trade favorite musical? Rent was good based on that answer,
- 10:22right, and I based on that Based on the answer of Rent,
- 10:26I'm expecting the principle of this Sherman school to come pluck you out of the
- 10:28treehouse and say you're not allowed to be in here because of the stage production
- 10:33you just mentioned. Having grown up not too far away from Sherman, that
- 10:37would not surprise me. I'm yeah, and it does it. Honestly,
- 10:43it doesn't surprise me that they're saying they, you know, they need to
- 10:46review Oklahoma because it's you know, racy and profane. Yeah, that's what
- 10:50I mean. That's what Sherman is right next to Oklahoma. And let's also
- 10:54keep in mind, let's let's keep an eye when they're saying, oh,
- 10:56well, this is under no, no, no, I know what it
- 10:58is. This school district is covering its ass. I have no doubts about
- 11:01that. The principal came in and said, we're not having the trans kids
- 11:05playing opposite roles and further confirming these you know, gender roles out of the
- 11:13norm blah blah blah stuff. He wasn't going to have it happen on his
- 11:16watch, and the school district realizes, oh, you screwed up, But
- 11:20now we have to come up with a legitimate excuse for your behavior. And
- 11:22that is no, no, no, no, no no. It's not
- 11:24that the principal didn't want the trans kid, you know, playing curly in
- 11:28the in in the musical. Instead, the content of Oklahoma is, oh,
- 11:33we got to take a look at this. It's it's it's it's pretty
- 11:35sketchy, you know, it's it's I mean, I review the whole thing.
- 11:39It's I mean, it's practically born. I'm I will agree with Tree,
- 11:43that's it. For Sherman, that would be a really racy musical like
- 11:48it's it's it's, I mean, it is what it is like. They
- 11:50just need to what they should have done, in my opinion, is asked
- 11:54the other actors if they're okay with that person that person playing in that role,
- 12:01and if they're not comfortable, then you cast somebody that is, or
- 12:03vice versa. But there are there are so many problems with this particular story.
- 12:11Not the least of which is when you're when everyone's worried about this,
- 12:16you know, uh, you know trans kids, this, trans kids,
- 12:18that, trans people in general, they're coming for your kids type of stuff.
- 12:22Oh yeah, that type of hysteria has now gotten to the point where
- 12:24you can't have a high school student play the role of an opposite gender in
- 12:30a school production, while keeping in mind it is extremely commonplace for women to
- 12:35play Peter Pan in musicals. Yes, it doesn't mean that you're endorsing the
- 12:41gay lifestyle or that you're now flying and wrapping yourself in a rainbow flag.
- 12:45Sometimes it might be just as simple as we only had so many kids auditioned
- 12:50for this production, and because of that sum a year, are going to
- 12:54have to cross dress. But you know what, it's called acting. Yeah,
- 12:56but what like that's that happens in all boys schools, is what?
- 13:00Yeah, they they'll they'll have a male playing a female lead. So,
- 13:05and keep in mind it used to be back in the day women weren't even
- 13:07allowed on stage. It was all male performers, or as they called it,
- 13:11the good old days. I just, I just I don't understand and
- 13:22that and the trans issue is one of the more complex issues, and and
- 13:26and I understand that that there are legitimate concerns when it comes to athletics.
- 13:31I do understand that, yes, yeah, why you muddy the water.
- 13:37It's a musical. Let the most talented person. You know, Yes,
- 13:39that correct, that right there, that right theratory you hit the nail on
- 13:43the head, because that was the other angle of the story that bothers the
- 13:46hell out of me, which is the hypocrisy with some of these outrage things.
- 13:50Uh, someone who probably believes that affirmative action is bad, they they
- 13:56would say, let the person attending university that's the most qualified. Let the
- 14:01person get the job who's the most qualified, not because they're a minority or
- 14:05they're that. However, don't you dare put that trans kid in the role
- 14:09of Curly in Oklahoma? That level of hypocrisy, to me is mind blowing.
- 14:13You can believe everything you want to believe, and I don't take beliefs
- 14:16away from anybody. You're allowed to believe what you believe, but let's not
- 14:20do so in the face of common sense. You know, Yeah, yeah,
- 14:24but they can't play a part. Yes, but then and then what
- 14:28happens here now? And what people don't understand with this day and age and
- 14:31social media and visibility and things like that. Now you've put this kid out
- 14:37there, so now he's going to get support from on one side of vision
- 14:41and then all the hate and grief from the other side, and it's just
- 14:46gonna compound and just land on this kid's head. And it's so unim That's
- 14:50why that right there is the reason why the principle screwed up. I don't
- 14:54care what your beliefs are on trans rights or anti trans rights. At the
- 14:58end of the day, this is a major, not only pr issue,
- 15:01but possibly a constitutional issue that this principle has has ripped the lid off of
- 15:09because you you gotta have more common sense, you have to have more awareness.
- 15:16Thinking before you act is something schools typically teach students. So it's really
- 15:22unfortunate when the administrators and the teachers don't use it themselves, because common sense,
- 15:26for this principle would have said, if I do this, yeah,
- 15:31X y Z will follow consequence. You know, actions have consequences. And
- 15:35now it's a world of muck for Sherman isd we and I mean and I
- 15:41do. I can assure you that they're some part of this administrator's thought process
- 15:48was we're in Sherman, No one's gonna you know, who's who's gonna gives
- 15:52it? Rats ask what goes on up here? Not realize you know,
- 15:54which even twenty years ago is a would be a legitimate thing because you know,
- 16:00only the Sherman Dennison news. Really is that ever gonna come Sherman Dennison.
- 16:03And but now with you know, social media, Internet and the you
- 16:08know most next to you know, Gaza, probably the most controversial issue we
- 16:14face today, you're gonna get some attention and it's unwanted. And not only
- 16:19that, but now you're promoting Oklahoma and that's the worst damn part about it.
- 16:27Thank you, thank you for understanding this, and thank you for being
- 16:33here for my Ted talk. You're listening to the tree House. Visit us
- 16:47online that Treehouse on air dot Com. Time now for Rodney Anderson to jump
- 16:56in the Treehouse. Nine is his phone number, the website Rodney Anderson dot
- 17:02com. You know, I've seen the news lately, Rodney. All the
- 17:04financial experts, the big names, you know, it's the Dave Ramseys,
- 17:07the Susie Ormands. They're saying, hey, you have got to get out
- 17:11of debt. That's what they're telling people. But I want to go to
- 17:14my friend and my confidant, and that's you, Rodney, So what do
- 17:17you think? Are they right? They're absolutely one hundred percent right, because
- 17:19you have to ask yourself do you like making the banks rich or would you
- 17:23rather you be rich? And so many people are sitting there in credit card
- 17:29debt. Now student loans are getting ready to start up DAN. So many
- 17:32people have also consolidated credit card debt into other debt vehicles where they have large
- 17:37installment payments every single month. The one thing that I know gets in people's
- 17:41way is debt, especially this high interest rate credit card debt. The average
- 17:45rate right now in America twenty four percent. Most people are above average in
- 17:49that area. We saw a client last week. They had a thirty six
- 17:52percent medical card that they owed ten thousand dollars on Maagine that thirty six percent.
- 17:57So we did a cash out, reads put all their debt together into
- 18:02one payment, and now they have one mortgage payment. That's it. Lastly,
- 18:06DAN, credit card debt is killing people's credit scores. Literally, when
- 18:10you have credit card debt, when it's maxed out, are you even close
- 18:12to being maxed out. The credit card companies have are the credit barrels have
- 18:17changed the algorithm, so there's some bigger emphasis on credit card debt. Don't
- 18:21wait until it's too late. The reason why I say that, we've got
- 18:23clients calling us for cash out refinances that we can't do their loans down because
- 18:29they've waited so long that their credit scores have dropped and now they're not even
- 18:33eligible. Don't wait until it's too late. Listen to Rodney. The man

- 20:25telling me before we got started to you said, you're having a bit of
- 20:27a back issue. Man, I can relate to that. What's going on?
- 20:30Oh yeah, my psiatica is just kicking it. Uh it's Roger.
- 20:37No, Okay, I'm glad you. I'm glad you haven't because one,
- 20:41I'm glad you haven't, and two, I know typically when someone hears someone
- 20:48like Trey or myself, because I too have had a sciatic issue Trey,
- 20:52when someone like us says my sciatica is acting up, I think a lot
- 20:56of people see that and kind of dismiss it, like okay, But when
- 21:02you know, when you've experienced it, then your empathy and sympathy goes through
- 21:08their Rooks. Yeah, I kind of got a lucky feel for you.
- 21:11I got kind of lucky early on in that sense. It was years ago,
- 21:15and I think it was nineteen ninety four. I was in Speaking of
- 21:18Oklahoma. I wasn't doing musical, but I was in theater at Richland I'll
- 21:22give you the U and they were replacing the velvet curtains and they bundled them
- 21:30up and I didn't realize just how heavy they were because they were the folding
- 21:33theater curtains. Yeah, and I and I just remember they're like, hey,
- 21:40we got it. I was a they called it a production assistant,
- 21:42but I was just basically making four dollars an hour, four dollars and twenty
- 21:45five cents an hour, and I thought I was a millionaire. Uh,
- 21:48just working hours a week at the junior college. So I just went over
- 21:52and I saw I saw like two guys. They were a little bit smaller,
- 21:56but they were two people picking these curtains up. And I was like,
- 21:57I got this. And I bent over it and just not from the
- 22:00legs, just straight with my back and locked it up pretty bad. And
- 22:06so I started doing chiropractic then. And then I had an incident in college
- 22:15where I the tailbone is where your cocksis, was running and I was on
- 22:22grass and didn't realize there was a pothole, so I went straight leg into
- 22:26a pothole and then my my cock sicks shifted. So from the I had
- 22:33to go back to chiropractical and after that, like I would just and I
- 22:36still do it, like once a month or once every two months. I'll
- 22:38go and see a chiropractor and get adjusted. Pray. Have you ever had
- 22:41your cocksix adjusted? I've had adjustments. I don't know if they've really focused
- 22:48on my cocksis or not. I don't do it in Sherman. Know that
- 22:53you will. You'll be flogged for that. In Sherman, you're a having
- 23:00worked in a chiropractic clinic for for a few years. In my younger life,
- 23:03I've I've had my coxic cosix adjusted. I've also had my pubic bone
- 23:07adjusted. That was That was a surprise. I didn't know it could adjust.
- 23:15I didn't either, and then I found out, Yeah, so trainata,
- 23:18what what? What brought it on? I have no idea. I
- 23:22woke up yesterday and it's one of those that I the minute I tried,
- 23:26I, you know, set up from bed, it just all of a
- 23:32sudden. You know, there's just a burning sensation that starts in your ass
- 23:36and it just goes down your leg. Usually it's my right leg, today's
- 23:40the left leg. I just called that Friday night. The difference is ras
- 23:47you're happy about it. Trade was upset. Some people call that prison No
- 23:53one person probably doesn't. I laughed. I laughed because I heard that's what.
- 24:03Yeah, so it's just is it in a night terror thing or is
- 24:06it a heredity? My both my parents had bad backs and fusions, and
- 24:15between that football and like my neck, I will have to have either a
- 24:22fusion or disreplacement. And that's from football and uh and headbutting things. Right,
- 24:30let's back up for a second. I get the football. I understand
- 24:33that you just randomly head butt things. Yeah, define Well, in more
- 24:40than a couple occasions, been in fights where I've had butted people. We
- 24:44had a bid in the studio way back in the day where we had a
- 24:47frying pan in there that I would hit myself in the head with the head
- 24:51with a frying pan. Well we all did. Rise. Don't act like,
- 24:53don't act like you wouldn't have hidden there, Yeah I wouldn't. I
- 24:57just did it with greater gusto and really was the most prolific headPan smasher,
- 25:04which led led to my you know, the orthopedic looking at my x rays
- 25:10going wow, you must have been in a really bad car wreck. I'm
- 25:11like, no, no, it is on a really stupid radio show.
- 25:19Your neck is shows it, you know, looks like what would happen if
- 25:22you were in a high impact collision the way and it's like, yeah,
- 25:26no, just a lot of low impact. I had a similar experience at
- 25:30a chiropractor and they looked at my X ray and they said, man,
- 25:34what have you been carrying? Jesus wow. And though it was a radio
- 25:41show, I was for about five years. Yeah, in that weight got
- 25:49a lot bigger, increased over time, that is for sure. This is
- 25:56solving so many mysteries for me. Why Dan's so forgetful. You've left out
- 26:03the fact that you would smash yourself in the head with a frying pan.
- 26:07Yeah. So when I went to that neurologist on the referral appointment, did
- 26:11you save that a heavy before the heavy battery of tests? I did not
- 26:15mention the multiple hits to the head with the frying pan. I mainly focused
- 26:19on traditional head injuries football, the occasional baseball thing. There's a couple of
- 26:29times as a kid, I just run into things head first, you know,
- 26:30normal stuff, and I absolutely purposely left off. You know. There
- 26:34was for about six or seven months there it was almost a daily thing.
- 26:37We'd hit ourselves in the forehead with frying pans, Like right, Like,
- 26:41were you the kid with a big pencil. Were you the kid that had
- 26:45the big jumbo pencil that you had to write with? Because you said as
- 26:48a kid running head first into things that we had that kid too, his
- 26:52name was Billy, and he had his name on his belt and I and
- 26:56I don't think that was for anything other than he didn't know that that there's
- 27:00another belt like he had to Billy had to put Billy's belt on and he
- 27:04was having his name on his belt. Wasn't an achievement like he had won
- 27:07the rodeo? Is like it was so he knew it was his. So
- 27:11how big big pencil? My grandmother took me sometimes she drove the bus.
- 27:26Now it was a Lincoln Town card on the on the on the event,
- 27:30on the on the occasions that I rode the bus. It was of normal
- 27:36size. But let's get back to the to the pencil size that you mentioned.
- 27:41Would you say, were you the kid that had the big pencil?
- 27:42What do you like? How big of the pencil or the big jumbo pencil
- 27:47for the kid that you know, Billy one that was roughly the same size
- 27:51as John Holmes crank. Yes, basically, you know, I'd love to
- 27:56say I'd love to say I didn't have one of those, but because I
- 27:59know the exact ex scize and circumference of the pencil compared to a legendary male
- 28:03porn star's genitalia, Yeah I did. I had the big This is making
- 28:08so much sense now, hang on, hang on, hang on, it
- 28:11gets better. Not only did I have the big red pencil, ye,
- 28:15it also had my name as if, as if by chance there'd be some
- 28:30other kid in the class that also had a pencil of unusual size to get
- 28:34them crossed up, my parents made sure to put Danny on mine. This
- 28:41makes so much sense now. So when you listen to this, go back
- 28:44and listen to the plus episode, and all of this will make sense.
- 28:48This is why you're that you were that they knew that when you were a
- 28:52kid, like they knew this, Uh, they knew how this was gonna
- 28:56turn out. Or perhaps ra perhaps my parents were thinking, it is possible
- 29:03that a coven of vampires may descend upon the kindergarten, and it's gonna be
- 29:10our little Danny that's going to defend the classroom with his big pencil with his
- 29:14name on it. You not only is it, not only is it used
- 29:19for solving arithmetic and writing your name and learning cursive. But it's also really
- 29:23good at murdering the curse, the damned, the vampires. Maybe did you
- 29:32ever ever sent a note home? Like, Hey, everybody else in class
- 29:36has a pencil. Why does Dan have a steak? Keep in mind,
- 29:41is it is it day in or Danny? What are we talking about right
- 29:44now? Like Bill, keep in mind where I went to kindergarten was Oklahoma,
- 29:49So let us going to school and having a Bible and a cursive FIXI
- 29:52in your backpack was going to be pretty run of the mill because sometimes you
- 30:03gotta shoot your lunch. Not today, Satan, Not today. You were
- 30:11listening to the Treehouse visit us online that Treehouse on air dot com. Yeah,
- 30:15when it came time to you know, make trades at lunch, no
- 30:18one wanted my squirrel meat sandwhich a three three cook DFW. That is the
- 30:27phone number to reach Daniel Cook and Cook DFW. Roofing and Restoration for your
- 30:32free roof inspection. And also if there's been a storm, you know you
- 30:36want to check to see if that roof survived it there's any damage. If
- 30:38it's major damage, you'll know in which case you definitely should be calling Daniel
- 30:41Cook at E three to three Cook DFW. Daniel was curious about this.
- 30:47I don't know if it's an age thing for some people, but for me,
- 30:48I've never been a birthday guy. I had my birthday recently and people
- 30:52keep bringing it up and throwing it in my face. But even fro when
- 30:55I was one year old, everyone started singing happy birthday, Like that's not
- 30:59for me. I started screaming and crying, throwing a tantrum. I hate
- 31:02the cake. That's a different thing. But you know, being sung to
- 31:04is not my thing. What about you? Where do you fall on your
- 31:07birthday? Are you like birthday month guy? Or you just go away?
- 31:11Leave me alone? Guy, I stop selling birthdays. I think I don't
- 31:15know twenty one, twenty yeah, somewhere around there. So yeah, that
- 31:18actually makes sense. Trey even said the last great birthday you get is twenty
- 31:22five because your insurance drops. And he's not wrong. No, that's exactly
- 31:26a happening. So no, I mean, you know, I turned fifty
- 31:29this year, and so it was kind of a big deal. I didn't
- 31:33really care about the number, because it's guys, you really don't care about
- 31:36the number. Anymore. If I can get out of bed without snap,
- 31:38crackling and pop and break anything, that's a successful day for me now.
- 31:44And then on top of that, you know, I've been extremely blessed.
- 31:47I feel very very well overall. So I don't really think of the numbers
- 31:52anymore. I know it hurts women, you know, mental about thinking about
- 31:56they're getting old. I don't think men really care. As long as were
- 32:00able to function and have a good life and do some stuff that we enjoy
- 32:02still, I think that's all it matters. And so yeah, I mean,
- 32:05as long as you're still labeled to swing a golf club without you know,
- 32:07doubling over in pain, and do your job to a good enough ability
- 32:12to be able to afford to play golf, you're you're having a good time.
- 32:14So I think that makes sense. It's a perfect world right there.
- 32:16So and then you know, the big thing is, I told my guys
- 32:20all the time, Hey, if I can scale these roofs and I can
- 32:22get up here off these ladders and jump around, then you can see that
- 32:25it can physically be done. Still at fifty, y'all young bucks need to
- 32:29buck up, un let's get going. So that's exactly right. He can
- 32:32still get on the roof, so can you, and he will be happy
- 32:35to jump on yours. Take a look at it for free to see if
- 32:37there's any damages from the previous storms, or see if it's ready for the
- 32:40next eight three three cook d FW eight three three cookdfw ORCOOKDFW dot com.

- 34:59six one of the Treehouse podcast be a Choose your own adventure, Trey,
- 35:02And would you rather hear about the misuse of sex dolls or or crazy ouder
- 35:16attack? Oh? Man, that is that is difficult? All right,
- 35:22I understand it's crazy attack, yes, or misuse of sex dolls? Yeah,
- 35:29I choose choose, choose wisely because we're only going to do one.
- 35:34I'll do the other one on the next podcast, but still, but for
- 35:36now, I'm gonna go outer attack, auto attack, Trey. I'm I'm
- 35:42gonna I'm with Raj. I want to go about you know, crazy otters?
- 35:46Yeah, all right, crazy otters? It is. I have to
- 35:53pull up my phone here because there's audio that goes along with this story.
- 36:00A state trooper in Montana was recently awarded the Medal of Valor after rescuing a
- 36:07woman who was being attacked by otters. Yes, I love this story already.
- 36:15That's gonna be good and it's Montana, so yeah, yeah. Here
- 36:23is the trooper who was awarded the Medal of Valor after rescuing a woman who
- 36:29was attacked by otters, describing the events that ensued. Honestly, I had
- 36:36never even heard of anybody getting attacked by an honor before, so being familiar
- 36:38with the area, I knew how remote it was, and so I thought,
- 36:42well, I could at least go and help get them loaded in the
- 36:44ambulance. Once we got up to her, she was basically covered headstone and
- 36:47blood, and then once life Flight landed, they immediately got out and started
- 36:52giving her care. And for me, it was just more of feeling empathetic
- 36:54with the woman and wanting to get her the help that she needed, and
- 36:58she was in a situation that nobody ever expect for her to be in.
- 37:00Little one herself. You never when you when you're wandering Montana, you never
- 37:06stop and think, mmmm that it could be your day to be attacked by
- 37:12marauding otters. All right, that's the name of our band. Hang on
- 37:20if you left it out that you didn't say where this was from, not
- 37:23because Montana is kind of a dead giveaway. But is there any question in
- 37:29anyone's mind that this is a white lady, because you know exactly how I
- 37:39look at that. If I say it, it's racist, if you say
- 37:45it, it's adorable. Look, Trey and I are white. We don't
- 37:52get these opportunities off and just let us have this one. I have been
- 37:55to Montana. Trust me, it was a white person. That's what I
- 38:01said. Take out Montana. That's a dead giveaway. Yeah, you could
- 38:07put this in Florida. It's still a white lady, like it doesn't matter.
- 38:09Well, no, this is what this is. It's like if you
- 38:13die on Everest. You know it's a white person. That's exactly right.
- 38:16You're about a lady getting malled by some wild animal. You know it was
- 38:20a white lady and she was trying to feed it. See there, that's
- 38:22exactly See. I'm glad you said it like that because if it would have
- 38:25just been me, you like a few of my other comic friends of color,
- 38:30when if I would have been like, hey man, jel here about
- 38:31the lady got attacked by an otter. My buddy Laurent would go, huh,
- 38:37white lady. I'd be like, you're right, and we'd high five,
- 38:39and then that would be that's the end of the story. Like we
- 38:43don't even need audio. Like. Part of what you need to keep in
- 38:45mind here is that it wasn't one otter. It was a room. And
- 38:51I looked it up. The correct biological term for a group of otters is
- 38:57called a romp. A romp. She got wronged, all right, that
- 39:04is and I and and there was no doubt when when the lady who got
- 39:07the Metal of Valor, the state trooper that was also a white lady that
- 39:13was talking, right, that's there we correct. Yeah, that's how she
- 39:17knew another white lady was in trouble. She was flailing about. It's like,
- 39:21this is clearly this is the the the unspoken thing of white ladies in
- 39:29Montana, the deadly otter. Aren't these the things that fall asleep holding each
- 39:34other's hands, Like isn't that one? So they don't know why they fall
- 39:37asleep holding each other's hands because they're because they're cleansing each other of the white
- 39:42lady that they have recently and there's actually a place in Waco. I forget
- 39:50the name of it off the top of my head, but I've seen it
- 39:52on Instagram. Uh, there's a place in Waco that you can go and
- 39:55stay. It's like a ranch type of place. I know, you can
- 39:59actually swim and or take a bath with otters. Yes, they're they're known
- 40:05to be very docile creachers. So what was this bitch doing? Which which
- 40:10what Trey had said, which you know, this white lady had it coming.
- 40:15Yeah, she she showed up with the wrong food, is my guess.
- 40:19These otters were like, bitch, I will eat you. And they
- 40:22all looked at each other and we should then, and that's what that.
- 40:27Then they proceeded to eat this lady. And just just the luck of this
- 40:32lady, the misfortune of being eaten by otters, but the luck that a
- 40:37state trooper was driving by and recognized because she says it, she goes and
- 40:40I realized at that moment there was an OTTO attack, And I was like,
- 40:45how many, Well that's you said. The trooper wasn't driving by,
- 40:49It wasn't. I mean, this was the call came in about a rock
- 40:52of otters attacking someone in Montana and this Montana State trooper answered the call,
- 41:00she said, I must go help. No, she literally answered the call.
- 41:04She was the only person working that day, like when she When I
- 41:08hear that and I in combined with the story and we know she got the
- 41:13Medal of Valor, my only thought is who didn't get it? That's no,
- 41:17You're right because I was thinking the same thing based on what this state
- 41:22trooper said. I'm gonna play this again. Yes, I'm gonna let her
- 41:25tell you in her own words how it is she was or what she did.
- 41:31I'll let the state trooper tell you in her own words what she did
- 41:36that led to her receiving the Montana Metal of Valor. Yes, honestly,
- 41:42I'd never even heard of anybody getting attacked by an honor before, so being
- 41:45familiar with the area, I knew how remote it was, and so I
- 41:47thought, well, I could at least go and help get them loaded in
- 41:50ambulance. Once we got up to her, she was basically covered headstone and
- 41:53blood, and then once life Flight landed, they immediately got out and started
- 41:58giving her care. And for me, it was just more feeling empathetic to
- 42:00the woman and wanting to get her the help that she needed, and she
- 42:04was in a situation that nobody ever expected for her to be in. Little
- 42:07one herself, so there, the state Troopers says. What she did which
- 42:12led to her receiving the Medal of Valor from the State of Montana was help
- 42:15load this blood soaked woman into an ambulance and then let CareFlight do all the
- 42:22heavy lifting. And she also showed empathy for the lady for being the victim
- 42:27of a romp of otters attacking her. I h how low is the bar
- 42:35for issuing medals in the state of Montana that you only had to show up
- 42:42to get a medal. The last recipient was the one who responded to the
- 42:46Great Beaver massacre. And if we're being honest, I thought, I thought,
- 42:53I really thought that it was just the Dallas Police Department that was having
- 42:58issues with their response time. I want to know who made the call,
- 43:06Like who was called? Who was watching some lady getting attacked by an otters?
- 43:08Like, oh, it was it was It was clearly it was clearly
- 43:12the lead otter. He wanted to make an example and show the world that
- 43:20otters are not to be trifled with in Montana. Yeah, I just,
- 43:23uh, this is this is I'm so glad I could. I don't know
- 43:27what the sex doll story is, but it's not better than this at all,
- 43:30because I would never Oh, it might be, It just might be.
- 43:34But you'll have to tune into the Friday episode of The Treehouse podcast that
- 43:38will be out later this week on Hint Hint Friday. But I also think
- 43:44it's possible. I also think it's possible that maybe these Otters have watched one
- 43:51too many seasons of Yellowstone so that they don't want outsiders coming into their land
- 44:00doing whatever the hell it is that they want to do, and they decide
- 44:01they're going to take action and do what they need to do as as a
- 44:06family of Otters to protect their otter ranch. Yeah, I like it.
- 44:10I Uh, it was like the what was those the not muskrat? What
- 44:17was the thing that was on Discovery for the longest time? Meerkat meerkats?
- 44:22We have we have to have our own version. Discovery Channel presents, uh,
- 44:30the Gangs of the animal Gangs of Montana, and then the Otters have
- 44:34to be like they're they're the bloods uh white ladies, or they're just their
- 44:39crips, you know. Trunce run through their hood like you just don't do
- 44:45it. Like and she's like, I'm gonna feed j'all and they're like,
- 44:46we're gonna eat you. That's the problem that a lot of people have,
- 44:52is they they underestimate their opponent, you know. And and and here's again
- 44:57how my mind works. Like everybody's focusing on this lovely state trooper that won
- 45:00the Medal of valor because I guess nobody else they just had a medal to
- 45:06give away. Uh. But there's a lady somewhere in a hospital that's having
- 45:09to explain to every nurse that changes shifts why she's there. And she's gonna
- 45:16be like, yep, I got fed up by a bunch of otters and
- 45:21people. Is it gonna be when it's the day in the hospital where the
- 45:28emotional support animals show up and the nurse is holding good or you have PTSD
- 45:38from one of the most adorable creatures ever. The new headline is outer attack
- 45:46victim leaps from hospital window and guess and guess and guess which state troopers showed
- 45:57up to answer that you medals? Got two medals? All or no?
- 46:13They just give her the same Yeah, it turns out they only had one
- 46:20extra from the trophy place. Don't forget Wes we mentioned here. You want
- 46:23to hear about the sex doll stories, and you need to be here for
- 46:27the Friday episode of the Treehouse podcast coming out later this week. Before that,
- 46:30you can enjoy the Treehouse Football podcast that will drop on Thursday. We'll
- 46:36see you next time, right here in the Treehouse
