Speaker 1: What's up everyone and welcome to another episode of the
• 0:03
Speaker 1: Epstein Chronicles. In this episode, we're going to pick up
• 0:06
Speaker 1: where we left off, talking about online influencers and the
• 0:09
Speaker 1: new Kash Patel information we found out about him trying
• 0:13
Speaker 1: to counter Epstein narratives. And when we look at all
• 0:16
Speaker 1: of that, I'm particularly interested in the speed with which
• 0:20
Speaker 1: certain narratives appear. Anyone who has spent serious time watching
• 0:24
Speaker 1: social media recognizes the phenomenon and A complicated event occurs
• 0:29
Speaker 1: and somehow dozens of people arrive at almost identical language
• 0:32
Speaker 1: before basic facts have even settled. Sometimes that happens organically
• 0:37
Speaker 1: because everybody is copying the same large account. Sometimes political
• 0:41
Speaker 1: organizations circulate talking points openly. Sometimes activists coordinate through private chats.
• 0:47
Speaker 1: Sometimes reporters and operatives trade information behind the scenes. None
• 0:52
Speaker 1: of these mechanisms is exotic. They are ordinary features of
• 0:56
Speaker 1: modern politics. The only question I'm raising is whether Epstein
• 1:00
Speaker 1: messaging has ever traveled through similar channels involving people with
• 1:04
Speaker 1: government relationships. Given what we know about Patel's own concern
• 1:08
Speaker 1: with answering online Epstein criticism, that is a perfectly legitimate
• 1:12
Speaker 1: subject for records requests and reporting. And this is where
• 1:16
Speaker 1: I think people make a mistake by turning every Epstein
• 1:19
Speaker 1: question into a referendum on Donald Trump, MAGA, Democrats, Republicans,
• 1:24
Speaker 1: or whichever political tribe happens to be screaming that afternoon.
• 1:28
  Speaker 1: I don't give a fuck which jersey somebody's wearing when
• 1:31
Speaker 1: it comes to government transparency in this case. If a
• 1:35
Speaker 1: Democratic administration had senior officials privately strategizing about combating Epstein
• 1:40
Speaker 1: criticism online, I would want those communications. If a Republican
• 1:44
Speaker 1: administration does it, I want those communications. If politically liberal
• 1:49
Speaker 1: influencers were secretly collecting federal money while defending the government's
• 1:53
Speaker 1: Epstein position, I'd want to know that. If politically conservative
• 1:58
Speaker 1: influencers are doing it, I want to know that too.
• 2:01
Speaker 1: The standard can't change depending on whose team is running DC.
• 2:06
Speaker 1: Jeffrey Epstein survivors have already spent enough time watching powerful
• 2:10
Speaker 1: institutions protect themselves. They shouldn't have to now compete with
• 2:15
Speaker 1: another level of undisclosed influence just to be heard. These
• 2:19
Speaker 1: women are not theoretical characters in somebody's political argument. They're
• 2:23
Speaker 1: the people who lived through the conduct at the center
• 2:26
Speaker 1: of of the entire scandal. Yet somehow, whenever their demands
• 2:29
Speaker 1: become politically inconvenient, portions of the online conversation immediately begin
• 2:34
Speaker 1: debating their motives, alliances, appearances, attorneys, media choices, and politics,
• 2:41
Speaker 1: instead of addressing what they are actually saying. That inversion
• 2:45
Speaker 1: should discuss people across the political spectrum. The survivors didn't
• 2:50
Speaker 1: create the government's credibility problem surrounding Epstein. The government created
• 2:55
Speaker 1: its own credibility problem through decades of investigative failure, controversial agreements,
• 3:01
Speaker 1: unanswered questions, sealed records, redactions, delayed disclosures, and conflicting public expectations.
• 3:08
Speaker 1: Survivors asking what happened are not responsible for cleaning up
• 3:11
Speaker 1: DC's public relations problem. Government officials are responsible for answering them,
• 3:17
Speaker 1: and political influencers should not become the substitute for those answers. Look,
• 3:22
Speaker 1: the deeper problem is that social media allows government accountability
• 3:25
Speaker 1: to be converted into tribal combat almost instantly. Ask why
• 3:30
Speaker 1: records have not been released and somebody responds by accusing
• 3:32
Speaker 1: you of helping the Democrats. Ask why survivors were removed
• 3:37
Speaker 1: from a Republican event and somebody responds attacking the journalist
• 3:40
Speaker 1: who brought them. Ask why Battelle wanted FBI personnel responding
• 3:44
Speaker 1: to Epstein criticism and somebody starts talking about crime statistics.
• 3:49
Speaker 1: None of those responses actually answer the underlying question. They
• 3:53
Speaker 1: simply redirect the argument onto more favorable terrain. That is
• 3:57
Speaker 1: public relations, whether it happens spontaneously or strategically. The public
• 4:03
Speaker 1: should be sophisticated enough to recognize the maneuver, and journalists
• 4:07
Speaker 1: should be sophisticated enough to trace where those narratives originate.
• 4:11
Speaker 1: If several influential accounts repeatedly move in the same direction
• 4:16
Speaker 1: at the same moment, that pattern is something worth documenting immediately.
• 4:19
Speaker 1: rather than ignoring. Now, the correct way to establish whether
• 4:23
Speaker 1: anything more substantial exists is not speculation alone. Follow the money.
• 4:28
Speaker 1: Follow federal employment records. Follow contracts. Follow consulting agreements. Follow
• 4:33
Speaker 1: communications between agency public affairs officials and outside personalities. Follow
• 4:39
Speaker 1: the emails, signal messages, text messages, calendar entries, visitor logs,
• 4:44
Speaker 1: grant records, procurement databases, and financial disclosures, were legally obtainable.
• 4:51
Speaker 1: File FOIA acts. Ask influencers directly whether they receive federal
• 4:55
Speaker 1: compensation or communicate with government officials about Epstein messaging. Ask
• 5:00
Speaker 1: agencies whether employees or contractors have been directed to engage
• 5:04
Speaker 1: outside accounts. That is how suspicion becomes either evidence or
• 5:08
Speaker 1: a dead end. Anything less leaves everybody arguing from impressions
• 5:12
Speaker 1: while the people who actually know the answer remain silent.
• 5:17
Speaker 1: And look, maybe the answer ultimately turns out to be boring.
• 5:20
Speaker 1: Maybe there's no organized influencer network connected to Epstein messaging whatsoever.
• 5:25
Speaker 1: Maybe the enormous accounts repeating similar arguments are simply ideological
• 5:29
Speaker 1: fellow travelers copying one another because that's what social media does.
• 5:34
Speaker 1: Maybe Data Republican is an isolated example of somebody whose
• 5:38
Speaker 1: federal employment happens to overlap with an enormous independent political presence.
• 5:43
Speaker 1: Maybe Patel's social media fixation was personal rather than institutional.
• 5:48
Speaker 1: All of that's possible. But those possibilities are reasons to
• 5:52
Speaker 1: investigate the question, not reasons to forbid the question. Serious
• 5:56
Speaker 1: reporting frequently begins with a pattern that might have an
• 6:00
Speaker 1: innocent explanation. The job is to determine which explanation survives
• 6:04
Speaker 1: contact with the evidence. Anyone demanding that people stop looking
• 6:08
Speaker 1: before that work is done is asking for faith where
• 6:11
Speaker 1: scrutiny is warranted. Now, what I refuse to accept is
• 6:15
Speaker 1: the argument that asking these questions is somehow irresponsible, while
• 6:19
Speaker 1: government officials themselves are demonstrably thinking about the online narrative.
• 6:24
Speaker 1: Patel's messages eliminate that escape hatch. The FBI director cared
• 6:28
Speaker 1: what anonymous accounts were saying about Epstein. He wanted his
• 6:31
Speaker 1: communications operation answering criticism. His own public affairs official reportedly
• 6:37
Speaker 1: pushed back on that idea because of how it would look.
• 6:40
Speaker 1: Those facts exist, whether anybody likes them or not. They
• 6:44
Speaker 1: demonstrate that online perception was not beneath the notice of
• 6:47
Speaker 1: federal leadership. The next logical question is how far that
• 6:51
Speaker 1: concern extended. Were other officials involved? Were outside accounts ever contacted?
• 6:57
Speaker 1: Were surrogates, allies, consultants, or influencers ever encouraged to amplify
• 7:01
Speaker 1: particular material? Those questions become more important because this administration,
• 7:07
Speaker 1: like every other modern administration, exists in an ecosystem where
• 7:12
Speaker 1: the distinction between official media, partisan media, independent influencers, activists,
• 7:17
Speaker 1: government employees, and political operatives is increasingly blurred. Somebody can
• 7:23
Speaker 1: have a million followers without possessing a press credential. Somebody
• 7:26
Speaker 1: can work inside government while maintaining a massive outside platform.
• 7:30
Speaker 1: Someone can leave a campaign, join an agency, become a consultant,
• 7:34
Speaker 1: and return to media without the average follower having any
• 7:37
Speaker 1: clue that those relationships exist. That's the world we live
• 7:40
Speaker 1: in now. Pretending otherwise would be childish. So the appropriate
• 7:45
Speaker 1: answer is aggressive disclosure. Tell audiences who employs you. Tell
• 7:50
Speaker 1: them who pays you. Tell them what government relationships you maintain.
• 7:53
Speaker 1: Then let people decide how much weight to give your commentary.
• 7:58
Speaker 1: Data Republican is therefore important to me less because of
• 8:01
Speaker 1: one individual account than because of what the revelation demonstrates.
• 8:05
Speaker 1: The online political world is not necessarily populated exclusively by
• 8:09
Speaker 1: random citizens sitting at home with laptops. Some participants have
• 8:13
Speaker 1: institutional relationships their followers may not know about. Pound's government
• 8:19
Speaker 1: employment is documented, while claims that the Pentagon directed her
• 8:22
Speaker 1: political content is not. Keeping those two facts separate is essential,
• 8:28
Speaker 1: but the existence of the first fact makes investigation of
• 8:31
Speaker 1: the second category of question reasonable. How many other accounts
• 8:35
Speaker 1: occupy both worlds? How many disclose it prominently? How many
• 8:39
Speaker 1: do not? How often do those relationships intersect with government controversy?
• 8:44
Speaker 1: Those answers would tell us far more about modern political
• 8:47
Speaker 1: communication than another thousand screaming matches on X ever will.
• 8:51
Speaker 1: And I would think that nobody would be more interested
• 8:54
Speaker 1: in getting those answers than the people who spent years
• 8:57
Speaker 1: attacking the deep state. If you believe government power can
• 9:00
Speaker 1: be abused, then you should want to know whether government
• 9:03
Speaker 1: personnel are participating in ostensibly independent political messaging. If you
• 9:09
Speaker 1: believe propaganda is dangerous, you should want disclosure regardless of
• 9:13
Speaker 1: who benefits from the message. If you believe federal agencies
• 9:17
Speaker 1: become too involved in public discourse during previous administrations, then
• 9:21
Speaker 1: the principle does not disappear because your preferred political faction
• 9:25
Speaker 1: controls the executive branch. Principles that only function when the
• 9:29
Speaker 1: opposition holds power are not principles, they're conveniences. Government transparency
• 9:35
Speaker 1: has to be politically agnostic or it means nothing. Epstein
• 9:39
Speaker 1: provides one of the clearest possible tests because the case
• 9:42
Speaker 1: reaches across parties, administrations, financial institutions, elite social circles, and decades.
• 9:49
Speaker 1: Nobody should receive an exemption from scrutiny because of which
• 9:53
Speaker 1: hat they wear. The survivors deserve that same consistency. They
• 9:57
Speaker 1: shouldn't be useful symbols when their testimony damages somebody on
• 10:01
Speaker 1: the opposing political team and inconvenient troublemakers when the questions
• 10:05
Speaker 1: land closer to home. They've already watched Epstein's wealth and
• 10:08
Speaker 1: connections distort accountability for years. They've already watched powerful institutions negotiate, settle, seal, redact, delay,
• 10:17
Speaker 1: and litigate around the case. Their credibility should not suddenly
• 10:21
Speaker 1: become expendable when a particular development creates political discomfort. When
• 10:26
Speaker 1: three survivors attend a convention with guest credentials and wind
• 10:30
Speaker 1: up outside the building shortly after an Epstein interview, an
• 10:33
Speaker 1: explanation should follow. Not insults, memes, character assassination. An explanation.
• 10:39
Speaker 1: And until one is provided, asking why they were removed
• 10:43
Speaker 1: is exactly what journalists and the public should be doing.
• 10:47
Speaker 1: So that's where my position sits right now. I'm not
• 10:50
Speaker 1: claiming I possess a document proving that federal officials are
• 10:53
Speaker 1: operating some secret army of Epstein influencers. I do not.
• 10:57
Speaker 1: What I do have is a documented FBI director who
• 11:01
Speaker 1: wanted his communications apparatus answering Epstein criticism on social media.
• 11:06
Speaker 1: I have a major political account whose operator also became
• 11:09
Speaker 1: a special government employee. I have Epstein survivors saying they
• 11:13
Speaker 1: were credentialed into a major Republican political convention and then
• 11:16
Speaker 1: escorted out after an Epstein interview without a public explanation
• 11:20
Speaker 1: from organizers as of subsequent reporting. Those are facts. And
• 11:25
Speaker 1: they are more than enough to justify aggressive questions. The
• 11:29
Speaker 1: next step is not to invent the missing evidence. The
• 11:31
Speaker 1: next step is to go looking for it. Because if
• 11:34
Speaker 1: there is nothing there, records and transparency can demonstrate that.
• 11:38
Speaker 1: If these accounts are genuinely independent actors arriving organically at
• 11:42
Speaker 1: the same conclusions, disclosure shouldn't threaten anybody. If no taxpayer
• 11:46
Speaker 1: money is flowing to influencers advocating government positions, fantastic. If
• 11:52
Speaker 1: no federal communications officials are feeding talking points to outside personalities,
• 11:56
Speaker 1: release enough information to establish it. If Data Republican's political
• 12:01
Speaker 1: work is completely separate from Pound's government employment work, documentation
• 12:06
Speaker 1: that assertion rather than weaken it. Transparency is not punishment.
• 12:10
Speaker 1: It's the mechanism by which institutions earn credibility. The government
• 12:15
Speaker 1: can't spend years telling Americans not to distrust it, while
• 12:18
Speaker 1: simultaneously resisting the very disclosures that would allow Americans to
• 12:22
Speaker 1: verify what it says. Trust is not something that D.C.
• 12:26
Speaker 1: gets to demand on credit. And if evidence eventually shows
• 12:30
Speaker 1: something more organized, then the implications become considerably more serious.
• 12:35
Speaker 1: Taxpayer-funded government activity is one thing. Independent political advocacy is another.
• 12:42
Speaker 1: Covertly blending the two would create obvious questions about transparency, ethics, appropriations,
• 12:48
Speaker 1: agency rules, and potentially applicable law depending on the facts.
• 12:53
Speaker 1: That's precisely why the financial and communications trail matter. Not
• 12:57
Speaker 1: because every aggressive political account is secretly a government operative.
• 13:01
Speaker 1: Not because every repeated talking point originated inside the White
• 13:04
Speaker 1: House or FBI, but because democracy functions poorly when citizens
• 13:09
Speaker 1: cannot tell whether the person attempting to persuade them is
• 13:12
Speaker 1: an independent voice or somebody with an undisclosed relationship to
• 13:16
Speaker 1: the government. And that answer should never depend on guesswork.
• 13:21
Speaker 1: Disclosure should make it clear. Listen, the Epstein story has
• 13:25
Speaker 1: spent far too many years living in that fog. Too
• 13:28
Speaker 1: many missing answers Too many sealed records, too many powerful
• 13:32
Speaker 1: people receiving levels of discretion ordinary defendants could scarcely imagine.
• 13:37
Speaker 1: Too many survivors forced to fight institutions with infinitely more power, lawyers, access,
• 13:42
Speaker 1: and political influence than they possessed. The last thing this
• 13:46
Speaker 1: case needs is another opaque layer between the government and
• 13:49
Speaker 1: the public. So yeah, I want to know who these
• 13:52
Speaker 1: enormous accounts are connected to. I want to know who
• 13:55
Speaker 1: employs them, who pays them, who communicates with them, and
• 13:58
Speaker 1: whether government officials ever attempt to shape what they say
• 14:01
Speaker 1: about Epstein. Maybe the answers destroy the theory completely. Maybe
• 14:06
Speaker 1: they uncover something far more uncomfortable. But I'll tell you
• 14:09
Speaker 1: this much, either outcome is preferable to being told not
• 14:13
Speaker 1: to ask. All the information that goes with this episode
