Transcript
- 0:01[SPEAKER_02]: what's happening guys this is Logan Robinson from here the canons at bucks game day dot com we hear live in a very very busy week for the tally buck in years we heard from Todd bulls earlier this week on monday but some of the biggest chatter right now from the box community is a potential new head coach as some openings are happening right now including john harball which we're going to dive
- 0:22[SPEAKER_02]: deep into a discussion there, Kevin Stephansky, maybe Cliff King's Barry.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to give our thoughts some early thoughts on those guys.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_02]: We're also going to discuss what Todd Bulls had to say.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_02]: Why he feels like he's secure going into 2026 with some bold statements.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_02]: Also, too, as well.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_02]: We've got
- 0:38[SPEAKER_02]: player interviews River and I were in the locker room during the clean out.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_02]: It's not a fun place to be certainly with how that scene season ended for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but some strong comments made certainly from the defensive side of the ball, which Todd Bulls coaches.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll dive into all of that, but with me this morning, good morning, guys.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_02]: Caleb Skinner back with us up there and Boston made it safely with the move in up there in the cold and then
- 1:02[SPEAKER_02]: River Wells are editor at Bucks game day gentlemen.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_02]: It is a very, very busy week.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_02]: I have an idea and expectation that we're probably doing a lot more shows moving forward at this rate.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_02]: But good morning fellas, how are we doing?
- 1:17[SPEAKER_04]: Top of the morning, baby.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: Do you agree with it?
- 1:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just freezing up here.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm 32, nice little sleep, but a little bit better than last week or it's mid 20s, but we made it up here safely and just trying to
- 1:33[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, man.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_02]: It's been busy.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_02]: It's been very busy.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_02]: We certainly could have done a show earlier in the week, but we want to get all three of us on here on board to really put a, put a bow on this season at the end of this episode.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_02]: But for us, let's go ahead and talk about some of the chatter right now with John Harball.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_02]: That's the theme of today's episode.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, I think the box are certainly open to, at least from the fan base, open to having a new head coach.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_02]: And when you have a guy like John Harball, who's been with the Ravens for 18.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_02]: years, a guy that's won a silver ball who brought in a lot of big time free agents as well during his time up there with the ravens, uh, there's a connection there to between John Harball and Jason Light going all the way back to their Eagles days, um, but there is there is some ties there and, you know, I bring it over to you guys.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_02]: Is it too early to kind of start being all right?
- 2:26[SPEAKER_02]: Let's pull and let's get the hard ball to the box.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_02]: Is that is it a realistic chance at this point?
- 2:32[SPEAKER_02]: Because it's going to come down to what the glazers, of course, decide to do.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot of glazers as well.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's not just one owner like Jerry Jones.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to, it's a handful of guys and ladies as well that have to come together and agree on this.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_02]: But when talking about John Harbaugh, how realistic is that for this box fan base at the moment?
- 2:54[SPEAKER_04]: Man, you know, um, there's a lot of reports out there going around that.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_04]: At first it was that one team with the head coach already in place reached out and then that turned into multiple teams with the head coach.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_04]: Um, I mean, definitely realistic.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_04]: It that's the kind of guy I looking for.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_04]: This is a pretty weak head coaching pool compared to other years.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_04]: I've obviously there can be some, you know, diamonds and a rough for some some stars that emerge at this pool, but
- 3:19[SPEAKER_04]: from the outside looking in, not as strong.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_04]: There's not like a Ben Johnson, if that makes sense, or Lee and Cohen, I guess you could say.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_04]: But Harbow would bring immediate experience, right?
- 3:30[SPEAKER_04]: Football royalty with Jim and that family.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_04]: And if you want to upgrade at head coach, that would be a way to do it, right?
- 3:39[SPEAKER_04]: You don't have to love the overall fit.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_04]: I think definitely an upgrade over Todd Bowls,
- 3:47[SPEAKER_04]: perhaps it could use right now, um, yeah, I think it's definitely a possibility.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_04]: I think to inquire, um, would be a good move.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_04]: And I think part of the inquiry will probably be what happened in, uh, Baltimore.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_04]: right what why why that all happen in Baltimore what what what what what went down um... uh... it was a locker room lost what were the other big confidence ability uh... you got to wonder if the ravens hit that kick right this has happened at the end of the season maybe not so
- 4:20[SPEAKER_04]: It is an interesting thing to think about, but as far as the head coach and pool, I mean, are both definitely top of line.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_04]: You see, in guys like the giants, immediately try and interview him as fast as they came because they know how pressing this is, how many teams want to hire a giant harbour.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_04]: So definitely becomes the bell of the ball, immediately after being fired.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_04]: And if you are even thinking about head coach change, I think it makes sense that you would want to put out a feeler and see what he's feeling.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I guess, you know, this kind of forces the hands of some teams that do have a head close head still in base because you can have the opportunity to go get a guy like John Harble that kick.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_01]: It probably see what his fate there as River had mentioned, but
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: I think it really came down to, up in Baltimore, the whole thing was, you know, Harball is not willing to part ways with O.C.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_01]: taught mom, which is, which is an interesting facet of everything that's kind of unraveled there.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_01]: You also look at, you know, the relationship being strained between Harball and Lamar as well and how that's all unfolded this season that we were able to see kind of on the surface and how everything played out.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, immediate upgrade.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_01]: How big of an upgrade?
- 5:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sure.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: I know bringing in Monk in is probably an upgrade of her Josh Resard at this point.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_04]: And he would think that that's who would come along with horrible no matter where he went.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_01]: If he was willing to part with him in Baltimore, he's most likely going to be, you know, hitch to the hip if you will with Harball no matter where he ends up going.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_01]: The question then becomes, what do you do at D.C.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_01]: pretty widely available when it comes to that, especially when, you know, hardballs, you know, picking up the phone to call whoever it may be to come with you.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: Happily, I don't know.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: We do know about the Todd Bowles contract last year, last off season, excuse me.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: We know it's to 28, money, not so much, not really sure.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: Our glazers going to be willing to make a decision to go from
- 6:26[SPEAKER_01]: or not get to know those answers and list the glaciers and doing something or if they decide to step in front of a podium, which is a highly, highly doubt at this point.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: Also, we're learning a com best.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: They do have a football team over there overseas and they recently fired their head coach.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: So, when a head coach for their soccer team, it points me in the direction that, you know, they've got a lot of money tied up over there.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_01]: Why are they going to tie up more
- 6:53[SPEAKER_01]: new head coach, so just something in the monitor when it comes to that as well.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_02]: There's always high expectations for the Ravens.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_02]: Me being a Steelers fan, you know,
- 7:03[SPEAKER_02]: Harball has been around for a very long time, but there's always a lot of high expectations.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_02]: Certainly, too, when you have an MVP quarterback like Lamar Jackson, it seemed like those that relationships certainly sums off because in press conferences, I keep in tune with the Ravens or Sane and what Harball is saying and just doesn't seem like things are on the same track with Lamar Jackson and some things all throughout that locker room.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_02]: Just some things, he'll change his tune on things on a weekly basis.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes, in between interviews, there were out the week on specifically Lamar Jackson when asked about things there, injuries of Lamar Jackson.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_02]: You could just see things were dwindling off there, and they made a lot of moves, of course, in free agents, you go and you go and grab a guy like Derek Henry.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot of strong talent that the Ravens have, and they decided to move on from him.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_02]: And there's a lot of experience there and you would look for someone that can maybe bring a little bit more of some leadership and to be honest with you some juice I feel like right now this buck's locker room has lost that and it's affected this team over all we saw the downfall of the season.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_02]: and twenty twenty five but you know harbors a well-respected coach across industry there's a reason why you know he's gonna have a lot of teams calling and some that already have head coaches on their staff that haven't moved on from them you know they're gonna see and and see what will potentially could be there but you know there is some other teams that you got to watch out for if the bucks are interested here in the giants are very very attractive because of that young talent that they have on their team
- 8:36[SPEAKER_02]: big market up there as well and outside of the eagles, it's not that highly competitive now for the bucks.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_02]: You have a high advantage here because it's the NFC South.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, you have a chance to, you know, the one the division every year, just like a tide ball stalled us on Monday like he did.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_02]: He went through your straight, which we'll discuss here in a minute, but, you know, it's the NFC South and it's an attractive spot to come down here, your end Tampa, your normal weather.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_02]: Just something that they keep an eye on and as we continue to follow the story here.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_02]: Also too.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_02]: I want to bring these two up to you guys What about Cliff Kingsbury and Kevin Stephansky?
- 9:13[SPEAKER_02]: So we we cover also on Commander's Game Day
- 9:17[SPEAKER_02]: Cliff, you know, you had the season last year with the commanders, Jayden Daniels, they make it all the way to the NFC championship down here in Tampa.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_02]: You saw that team beat you and make that incredible run last year out of nowhere with Dan Quinn as a head coach.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_02]: But Cliff Kings, very called that offense and you saw the big time strides being made from your quarterback with Jayden Daniels.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_02]: Of course, this year was an absolute practically a disaster.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_02]: All, you know, a lot of it predicated on Jayden Daniels being injured.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_02]: And though there were some questionable things on how Cliff King's Barry was running that offense overall, now should they have made some moves during the off season, absolutely.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_02]: There were some things that they limited themselves on and Terry McLean and there was a lot of things going on there with his injuries throughout the season.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_02]: You're again, Debo Samuel back in the next.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_02]: You're also relying on a lot of older guys.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_02]: I guess you could say still like a Debo and a
- 10:08[SPEAKER_02]: Zach Urts, but, you know, there was still some questions.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_02]: I think I heard that.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_02]: There's so, yeah, there we go.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_02]: But what are y'all stops on Cliff and then, of course, Kevin Sefanskin had a whole ton of ties there, but really, I mean, Sefansky, two AP NFL coach of the year awards went through an absolute shit show there with Cleveland awful ownership there, but well respected along across the league.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_04]: Um, both these coaches have a bigger Mayfield problem.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_04]: Unfortunately, um, Kevin Safansky coach Baker Mayfield.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_04]: Um, and 2021, you know, you know, he ended up getting shipped off to Carolina in favor of the Sean Watson.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_04]: Uh, so Baker Mayfield might not forget about that.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_04]: And then Cliff Kingsbury, if people do forget back in the day that Baker Mayfield started his career at Texas Tech,
- 11:04[SPEAKER_04]: Um, he went five and knows a starter.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_04]: He heard his knee.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_04]: He came back, Cliff King's very the head coach at the time, gave the starting job to Davis Webb instead of Baker Mayfield.
- 11:15[SPEAKER_04]: So, um, that ship on his shoulder is pretty big.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_04]: Um, if I had a nickel for every coach that Mayfield wouldn't want to bring in the cycle, I'd have two nickels, not a lot, fear that it happened twice.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_04]: But that would have to be something to figure out, Cliff and Baker said we're good, being good.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_04]: I think is different from, hey, come be my head coach or I was a coordinator in Tampa.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_04]: And then Savansky, I think great candidate did a lot of great work with the Vikings when he was there.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_04]: And he's shown that he can call a very successful offense and make the most of very little.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_04]: I think that those, I'm not a Kingsbury guy, I think it's a fancy, I do like to fancy, but those would be modern candidates to come in to try and revamp a book so often, so it's stuck by the McVay for me left for the last three years, but you'd have to get that cleared with good ol' Baker Mayfield, so we'll see if that ends up being a factor.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: Both guys are intriguing options.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: I, you know, wrote, we've written articles about being, well, O.C.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_01]: if the bucks do keep, you know, Todd Bowls.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: The cliff thing with Baker is a little bit more, you know, you can probably get around it a little more than the Stephansky in Baker relationship because of,
- 12:41[SPEAKER_01]: The decision that was made, you know, back when he was in college at 10, you know, that's on cliff, obviously not going back to Baker after you got on the five and no before the knee injury, but then there was the whole scholarship issue too, which did not really necessarily fall on, you know, cliff cliff could have helped, you know, maybe push for Baker received that scholarship.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_01]: but ultimately, you know, not into them.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: Again, this was a different day and age of college football.
- 13:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's not the college football that we were seeing in today's day.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: So it was a lot feedback.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_01]: And so yeah, that didn't really lie so solely on, you know, the shoulders there.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_01]: There was other, you know, factors that went into that hopped in hand, potentially.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, them saying both of them saying Cliff and and Baker saying, you know, we're on good terms as you mentioned river, but again, we're going to become my head coach, it needs to be better than we're just on good terms, right.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_01]: Just all the relationship that that Baker had with.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Dave saw relationship and then there's relationship with Liam took it to that whole other level because they were so comfortable with one another and they would do it.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_01]: And that's a big thing, especially as a quarterback, that capability factor.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_01]: And obviously, Baker did not look comfortable with what was being done this year with Josh Gazard.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_01]: So you've got to make sure that your quarterback is on this line that you are when it comes to who's going to be calling plays for you.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_01]: Cliff, you know, runs a lot different offense, but still some of the same stuff you're going to see the emotions, but you'll see more inside run than outside run.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_01]: You'll see Baker in shotgun way more than the 35% of the time that he was under set issue, which is an interesting tidbit.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_01]: Kevin gone back and looked at Baker in college or even during his time, and Cleveland to see what they kind of ran during I met.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: Single stop, he was at.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: would be interested to see those numbers and you know what the percentages were and how successful he was in that.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: But Stephansky overall probably the better coach here if you were to go somewhere but I think that that relationship with Baker just completely eliminated him out of that consideration toward a con.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_01]: An interesting name that I know has been brought up is Kuvyak, the guy over there at the OC run and
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: offense and Seattle, that would be like your homer and higher of this cycle, no matter who is able to get him, that's pretty much the guy that I would point to as you know, hey, look what he's been able to do even after his Minnesota days has been he's been able to keep that up and kind of take it up and even not like another notch from when he was in Minnesota and really he had been worked with as his top, you know, target.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_01]: He's got some other guys out there that
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: you know, are accomplished, but not necessarily a DK Metcalf, if you were to stay there.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_01]: So he's a great job.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_01]: I would love that.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I don't think polls is going anywhere, so you're really looking at an OC change.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_01]: Cliff, I don't think is going to go for an C change at this moment.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_01]: He's probably looking for a head coach job, Stephanski, probably along the same line, so unless, you know,
- 15:33[SPEAKER_01]: The glazers somehow, you know, in their meatballs, we make that decision, you know, we're going to part ways or maybe force you into retirement.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_01]: If that if that comes to light or whatever it may be, then you have the possibility of looking for them as a head coach candidate, but I don't think any of those guys are going to really take a lateral move or step down into the fancy skates.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_02]: Dude, I think some I think we're gonna have some craziness here coming soon.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what it is.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_02]: I think there's gonna be a team that moves on from their current head coach just to make a big grab at one of these guys that have been around the league for a long time.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_02]: Like a hardball or as the fanski.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_02]: Just because that's there's not a lot of those other options outside of Clint Kubiak that you know is a guy that.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_02]: has a lot of promise there, not a lot of juice, which I think that I'm looking for for this book's team, but you can try to find that with a defensive coordinator potentially or somebody, but I think there's going to be some big moves here coming.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, look at the Falcons, man.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_02]: I think, yes, you could, you could fire her anymore.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, this was a let down season from them.
- 16:33[SPEAKER_04]: I don't really could do that.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_02]: And you, and you could certainly do that.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_02]: But I wasn't necessarily thinking that was going to happen because they were finding their stride here at the end of the season.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_02]: It seems like the team was playing hard for him and they believed in their head coach where you're seeing the complete opposite.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_02]: In my opinion, down here in Tampa for Todd Bowles, are the Falcons a little bit ahead of everybody right here because there is a lot of talent here offensively defensively.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_02]: I got to fair out their quarterback situation.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_02]: But Harbog going to the Falcons could be a big concern for Buck and Nares fans, yes or no.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_04]: Anybody going to the file can so I think it's a big concern to book in years fans.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_04]: They have a loaded roster They have a lot of talent be John Drake London Jesse baits AJ Terrell They've got their two rookie Adrushers and and James Pierce that it eight and a half sacks you already up the off the rip They've got a lot of good players and Yes, I think John Harbow would be concerning
- 17:32[SPEAKER_04]: I think really with the Falcons and the Saints, Falcons is having a new pegcoach in NBC and all that.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_04]: And the Saints with Kellan Moore looking on the rise with a decent show and from Tyler Shock to end of the year.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_04]: The books, NFC's Outground is definitely in danger with those two teams changing their ways.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_04]: And if the books say a bulls, looking like right now, that's going to be the case.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_04]: The Esauce made with the Glaciers, obviously.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_02]: where the sources we got to get the sources.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_02]: So it's going to get the text going.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_04]: It's this week.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_04]: It's going to happen.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_04]: Either they're telling us it's happening this week.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_04]: It's happening this week.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_04]: It's sources being topples.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, you're at a sea south crowns in danger.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_04]: I think at that point, right?
- 18:19[SPEAKER_04]: And
- 18:20[SPEAKER_04]: The books are going to fall behind the A-ball.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_04]: If all these other teams are identifying problems and making moves based on them, and right now it's an easy division, the Falcons need a quarterback.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_04]: That's going to be the piece that they have to figure out.
- 18:33[SPEAKER_04]: But if they do, hard to convince me that they wouldn't be a huge favor in the interview, so I'll give it a half of the rest of the rosterist.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_04]: So we'll see how that goes.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_04]: I agree.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_04]: It's the looking like right now that Paul says to go anywhere, but remember, they fired.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_04]: Love, he spent on a Wednesday night.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_04]: They waited 18 days to fire John Groot and often extension the glaciers.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, so not unprecedented for them to wait.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_04]: Not unprecedented for the wait.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_02]: Looking like it's a lot of people.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_02]: It's a committee.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_02]: It's a committee that has to get together.
- 19:07[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know where some of them live.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, like,
- 19:10[SPEAKER_02]: way to comment in here earlier.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they've made a move overseas, what's one of their soccer leagues are one of their teams.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they fired soccer club.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_04]: Yes, they fired Rubin a more.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_04]: All club I should say.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_04]: Manchester United.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_04]: A bit of a unique case because he was bad and he also directly called out owner trip and his last friend's conference that doesn't usually go well.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, but yeah, they just made that move over there.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_04]: So would they make the same move over here?
- 19:38[SPEAKER_04]: that would depend on how they feel about it.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_04]: Remember, their glaciers did sell a decent stock of many night, but they still are majority owners over there in Manchester, and they also, of course, on the time they'd look at theirs.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_04]: So could one thing lead to another, or could one thing prevent another, would be the question.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_02]: There's a comment here from Lisa on Facebook.
- 19:57[SPEAKER_02]: Appreciate you comment and in here with us this morning says, bucks will not buy him out of his contract.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_02]: He is staying so it was shared about a what a week ago.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_02]: Two weeks ago that he signed a three year extension.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_02]: What the buck and years going on the way into 2028.
- 20:14[SPEAKER_02]: And you don't usually get all those kind of details for NFL host coaches, but when it comes down to things like this, and the collapse is happening, you know, and siders are trying to get the nuggets on what these extensions look like, and so it was shared that that was the extension.
- 20:29[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think necessarily it's not like the College Football landscape where it's an absolute
- 20:34[SPEAKER_02]: already cost earlier, but some a blank show, that's absolute complete mess in these agents are having these outrageous outrageous contracts built for these coaches that buy them into these big time numbers that keep them around a lot longer.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_02]: Like what's happening for Florida State and Mike Norville, but
- 20:57[SPEAKER_02]: here I don't think the glazers are yes of course the money is something that you have that you have to think on if you're planning on or you know put it out there or potentially moving on from your head coach of course a number that's a lot of money there's millions of dollars or they are worth ten billion dollars as a family say they wanted to they probably monetarily though at the end of the day they will be fine certainly if they
- 21:27[SPEAKER_04]: And if you look, they're going to miss out on that playoff game.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_04]: That gives you money, right?
- 21:31[SPEAKER_04]: You're hosting a playoff game.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_04]: That's TV.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_04]: They didn't miss out on that.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_04]: And the understanding was that as long as we get that, we're probably fine if they want to feel that way.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_02]: They didn't get that this year.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_02]: That's a good point.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I was talking about?
- 21:45[SPEAKER_02]: We would talk about it all the time at practices.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_02]: You know, we'd be like, well, you know.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_02]: If they do make it over there in that stadium over there, you know, for a playoff game, that helps pay the bills and brings in a lot of revenue for you.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_04]: But of course, what's better than one is two.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_04]: It's a higher number.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_04]: So that would be something to consider as well.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, 100% well we'll sure for sure be discussing more on all of this who knows We might have a break in episode later on in the week But thankfully stay tuned to buck same day dot com but this show keeps going on here Let's talk about some of our biggest takeaways from Todd Bolses interview that he had on Monday
- 22:23[SPEAKER_02]: River you and I were there who had the locker clean out which we'll talk about in just a minute from some nuggets from some of the players we talked to but what to you stood out the most river and then you can for sure give your thoughts Caleb from all the way up there in Boston.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Todd Bowles did not sound like a guy who thought he was going to get fired.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_04]: I just mean that he won't be, um, it means that he thinks it's unlikely and to be fair.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_04]: I think we kind of think it's unlikely as well, but he had to admit that he would make some changes.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_04]: A particularly with scheme, he said there will be scheme changes.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_04]: he said we will play to our players strengths.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_04]: But she think they'd be doing all ready.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_04]: Someone asked him what makes you think you deserve to be head coach in 26 that have won three straight division titles.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_04]: Chassamine something.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_02]: Let me know if you have something.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_02]: Let me give that exact quote.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_02]: He said, all I can do is coach and be myself.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_02]: I've earned the chance.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_02]: I've won three straight division titles.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_02]: So that says a lot as far as I'm concerned.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_02]: That was the key quote.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_04]: The NSC South is a easier place to do that than perhaps the least.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_04]: Another place.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_04]: So that's something to keep in mind as well.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, he mentioned there's going to be coaching changes as well.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_04]: I think most of us, if we believe that top bulls is going to return next year as head coach of the Tampa Buccaneers, there will definitely be a new offensive coordinator.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_04]: How would I imagine?
- 23:56[SPEAKER_04]: And he was asked about Josh Resard, did not give a glowing review.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_04]: I think he said he learned a lot.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_04]: was the extent of what he said about his first ten years ago.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, here's here's what he said.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_02]: That's part of the evaluation process the first year.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_02]: He learned a lot.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_02]: He learned a lot of things.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_02]: We had a lot of injuries, but he learned a lot of things week to week and things that he can take with him.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_02]: and learn from and we'll evaluate it from there.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_02]: So, and things that he can take with him, like he's taking himself, you know, onto the next opportunity.
- 24:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_02]: The Grzard thing is a whole other conversation, but we can continue here with that river.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_04]: So there will be coaching changes there.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_04]: You would ideally want him to make coaching changes for a lot of coaches that he has had on staff.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_04]: He is known for a long time.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_04]: Guys like Nick Recone has like George Edwards on a defensive side.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_04]: Those will be guys that you have to kind of think about.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_04]: Do I want these people still round?
- 24:55[SPEAKER_04]: Despite me knowing them for a while or should I get some fresh faces in the building on defense?
- 24:59[SPEAKER_04]: That'll be something to think about too.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_04]: My thing with this and I'll get your guys opinion on this while we're on this object is if both states, which is looking like it's going to happen and there is an offensive coordinator opening, which is also looking like it's probably going to happen.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_04]: Who's going to want that job knowing that both is potentially a sitting duck?
- 25:25[SPEAKER_04]: I think it's going to be hard to hire offensive coordinator
- 25:31[SPEAKER_01]: or you could look at it from the angle of, okay, well, if I do my job well, and then Todd Bowles doesn't pay his job properly.
- 25:40[SPEAKER_01]: Right, and I've got an easy way to have a really good team at my disposal the next one.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I'm the one thought that he probably was going to have.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_04]: Right, and also you could say, oh, if I do my job, then I could still get ahead coaching Giggs somewhere else, it was not in Tampa Bay.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_04]: But the most likely thing
- 25:59[SPEAKER_04]: Is that you're going to be fired?
- 26:01[SPEAKER_04]: So that's something to consider.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_04]: That's something to think about.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_04]: I'll be interested to see if they try and get a veteran OC is how a lot of experience like a Brian label or a cliff king's barrier something.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_04]: Or if they try and go to the young guy like Nate Sheo House or Grant Udinsky or someone like that who hasn't called plays me and I thought I'd give them that first chance But the books have done that three years in a row, so could it be a fourth if-tob bull stays that would be the question
- 26:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, you hit on two out of three, so I mean, obviously you've done well enough there, but I think you think about it, the two others came from outside the house, not from within the house.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_01]: That kind of where they didn't really do a lot of, you know, examining of the field or the market.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_01]: At that time, and they were just like, look, we're going to give this guy a chance.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_01]: Um, clearly didn't work out, so I, I'm not sure, and you know, going back to the top Bulls thing too.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_01]: Like he could be out this week, you know, done.
- 27:06[SPEAKER_01]: You got a, you know, presser before he left or he was out in the middle of the night in the middle of the rain.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so there's so many, I mean, you guys remember that that was just crazy to even think about happening.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the list goes on and on.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_01]: The glazes are made very tough decisions and they have done it without, you know, unapologetically as well.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_01]: And they've kept some of these coaches around.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_01]: She, and around, you see, done to you around.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_01]: You don't see love.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_01]: You don't see Raheem, you know, seeing you.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_01]: Those guys, because those were even short, short stints.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_01]: And then, you know, those legend.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_01]: But,
- 27:38[SPEAKER_01]: interesting to see where it goes.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how hot of an OC market it is right now either.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's just not very good code cycle, which is unfortunate and going back to the hardball thing.
- 27:49[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to prove it winner and prove it winner as a head coach, what's you're going to want.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_01]: He's going to want a team that can win right now.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_01]: The bucketers still see themselves as win now.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_01]: And that could, you know, be something that hardball is like, hey, if you guys
- 28:03[SPEAKER_01]: Figured way, I'll be there, maybe spell, maybe not.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_01]: But OC, it's definitely probably going to be a change.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_01]: Todd Bowles is comments.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_01]: getting a bunch of insurance, you know, that toggle usually gives, that's the most that you're going to get out of him when that's a yes in his in him saying that a Oscar next year are always taking a lot of stuff with them that's that's telling to me, which means he's on his Alex hopefully they're doing their homework and being able to figure the next steps here.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_01]: There are going to be some solid guys and don't give me wrong.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_01]: Who knows, Cliff could fall, you know, in your lap as an OEC and
- 28:37[SPEAKER_01]: That's great.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_01]: That's an obvious upgrade from where you've been this last season.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_01]: You were stuck in the mud after You know being Josh Krasar being the you know first play first drive script and That's all he was able to do.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_01]: I've said it so many times on the show First drive is always gonna look great and then the rest of the game is just gonna be poo poo and that's exactly how it
- 28:58[SPEAKER_01]: against the panthers even in that wind and so it's just if you if you can't put up, you know, 30 points in the NFL in this day and age, you're not really going to be that, one of those true contenders and the Buccaneers were usually under 24, probably the majority of the seasons are very interesting there, but
- 29:14[SPEAKER_01]: Not sure where they go.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, you're going to get a new O.C.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_01]: and then you'll go from there.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, going back to the NSC South, definitely be worried about the Falcons.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_01]: They're doing a full rehaul.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to top the bottom right now.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they're moving, struggling guys around.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_01]: They've got two different search firms that have been, you know, involved in the process of their reconstruction of their office, the reconstruction of the coaching staff and everything.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_01]: Then on so forth, if they land a guy like a Kubeyac, if they land a guy like a
- 29:44[SPEAKER_01]: The New Orleans Saints have looked good down the stretch.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_01]: They looked badly good down the street.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_01]: Not pretty by any means, but they're pulling out winds and tie-with shock.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody was looking at his film at the combat and being like, dude, what are they doing?
- 29:56[SPEAKER_01]: And all of a sudden, he turned it on, started using his legs, started just playing ball.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_01]: The more it looks like he's got a good rapport with him going as well.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_01]: And so,
- 30:04[SPEAKER_01]: with these three teams, you know, the Panthers, the Saints, and the Fatalkans all making moves to serve themselves and the buck and ears are just sitting stagnant.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_01]: That's not going to vote well for you in the long haul or even in the near future.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_02]: Now, here's some news, some breaking news, where he Morris is going to get some interviews coming up here as he had coaching position, at the had coaching position, Cardinals, Giants and Titan.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_02]: So, still being highly regarded as a potential head coach for some organizations across the league, and no, we know one name two I want to bring up is Matt LaFlor.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_02]: Now, there has been some chatter about him and the Packers direction under him of what is the future of MATLAF lore.
- 30:50[SPEAKER_02]: I think there's a lot of things that are about to happen across the league.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_02]: We still get through playoffs and a lot of those things are gonna be decided from some of these teams after this upcoming weekend.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_02]: But, MATLAF lore might be another name to watch where he might become available where it's an opportunity like a John Harbaw type situation or a Kevin Fancy.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think a matter of her would become available.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_04]: However, in my opinion, small percentage chance he does, I think you pick up your phone immediately.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_04]: And you call.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_04]: I think that would be a Hutton-Run best candidate above Savansky, if he were to enter the market.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_02]: then Mike a Parsons would come with you, right?
- 31:34[SPEAKER_02]: Of course.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_04]: No, I mean, Lefler definitely has his questions in Green Bay, but a stunning offensive mind still.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_04]: I think they would get the most out of his offenses in a very,
- 31:47[SPEAKER_04]: innovative way.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_04]: So if that's a guy to watch, man, everybody better be watching him, but Rahim Morris on on that subject, Talbolts asked about Rahim Morris.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_04]: There are some bucks fans going, oh, could he be the DC in Tampa Bay, you know, something like that.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_04]: People will talk about, hey, should Talbolts give up play calling and get a DC.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_04]: In my opinion,
- 32:14[SPEAKER_04]: If Todd bulls gives up play calling and get the DC, you were kind of entering the, what are you even doing here, sort of, that's the thing.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_02]: That up a being a CEO had coach.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_02]: I just don't see Todd bulls being that first off, he doesn't like, you just said, he doesn't want to take away his play call duties.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_02]: He was not going to do that no matter what the scenario was, you know, what the defense being brutal this last season.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't want to do that, though.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_02]: He would either say no.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_02]: He would say no.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_02]: I'm retiring.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_02]: That's it.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_02]: Like I don't see.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think you want Todd Bowles of the CEO head coach I just don't see that where it helps your locker.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_02]: I mean he's just not that type of coach.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't want I don't think he wants to be that either All right, great
- 32:52[SPEAKER_02]: I don't see any, like I said, you need someone with some little bit of juice and fire, like it just sees a quiet guy and told you know, there's some times where he needs a call as players, what you did this last year.
- 33:03[SPEAKER_02]: But, you know, I just don't think that builds well for what the box you're trying to do.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_02]: If you're trying to improve your team, I just think you're staying completely stagnant there on a parallel.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_01]: Go ahead.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_01]: like I hate to compare this, but like what for to say is doing right now, it seems like it's just kind of a mail it in type of season for them, this upcoming season, and I don't want to, you know, necessarily say that's, you know, a book is currently art, but it sure seems like like if you're going to roll ahead with what you have and you've already seen the product of what it is, is an OSU going to bleach change things, is, you know,
- 33:38[SPEAKER_01]: is Jason White writes up company drafts going to really drastically change things.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe, you know, maybe you hit and you go get an elite pass rush for this offseason and then free aid market or trade for somebody.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_01]: Like, pros be once out about, right?
- 33:55[SPEAKER_01]: So if you get some of these things done, then they know what direction that this team wants to go in, right?
- 34:02[SPEAKER_01]: If they don't do the thing,
- 34:04[SPEAKER_01]: then you obviously know what next season is going to really entail and then you're going to have loss of tickets.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, people still have season ticket because they had to buy a two-year kid.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_01]: But those fans are going to try and start selling those.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_01]: Immediately if they haven't already tried to begin to do so with the news of Todd most quickly staying in bruiserians has come and on it he feels very confident that that's not going to be back as well.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 34:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's a tricky spot for the organization as a whole to be in.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's probably a tricky spot for Todd Bowles to be in.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, there's some guy like Jarzard and Macana Hay on special teams that obviously, you know, know that they're probably on the out right now.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_01]: But Todd's probably got a little right now until he knows where his position is, with the Gladers like, hey,
- 34:53[SPEAKER_01]: If the Glager is okay, like Todd, you got one more year, if you don't turn this down in a win playoff game, you're probably out, you know, now we can be able to afford that by up.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: But let's see what they do.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_01]: I hate to say be patient.
- 35:07[SPEAKER_01]: We all have to be patient.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_01]: We have to see how this week unfolds.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_01]: What hires in our made after the firing and then on from there, you know, then we're looking at the draft and what are we going to do in free agency.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 35:19[SPEAKER_01]: a lot of things still have to unfold for the time of the weekend years and it's just a matter of time before the stuff fall in those dominoes start to fall so I mean if hardball is like yeah get me there then I could see the glaciers making a making a move for like that for sure.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_02]: a lot of things fall in the shoulders of Jason Light as well and you know they went in the first round and grabbed a wider Seer just because of probably expectation that Mike Evans would receive get his 1,000 yards see how you do in the post season if you're able to make it and he would call it quits and in his career as a buck and year in retire.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_02]: But now things I feel like to me personally, I don't know, I seem like he was pretty emotional, even the field I took a video of him.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_02]: And people said that, you know, he's wiping tears.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't necessarily be able to see that from how far out I was.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_02]: But if that was his last year, then okay, that was a big pick-up.
- 36:09[SPEAKER_02]: That was probably very important for you for the future of a wider silver room.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_02]: But Jalen McMillan showed a lot of promise to you this last year.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_02]: And you still had Chris Godwin coming back, understand.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_02]: He was coming back trying to get back fully, fully healthy as well.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_02]: And you feel strongly about, you know, what you brought him at Test Johnson.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_02]: Like they're at, I mean, that was in the same draft as,
- 36:31[SPEAKER_02]: Like Buka, but still, you know, they still need to do better in the past rush.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_02]: Chris Braswell has been a bus for the box.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_02]: They need to do better.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_02]: The linebacker position.
- 36:40[SPEAKER_02]: I was never that high on Srasi Dennis, but this staff certainly was.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that allowed for the media to feel highly on him.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_02]: But I never really saw it there as much strong, strong plays in the, in the preseason.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_04]: Just so you'll guys all know, Logan never really saw it there.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_02]: I never really did, I've been out that way.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_02]: He's getting the run game.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_04]: Wait, I had it.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_02]: Wait, wait, I had it run game.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_02]: This was two years ago.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_02]: So let's get it out there.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_02]: But the staff just continued to stay highly on the river.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_02]: Like, there was non-stop.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_02]: Todd Bowles loved them.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_02]: Great.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_02]: Just got to see some things fix.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_02]: And the whole theme of this year has been execute.
- 37:17[SPEAKER_02]: It couldn't execute.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_02]: They got to get better at executing.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_02]: Now's from the staff and these players say they just couldn't execute.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_02]: And I can't really find it much more to ask a coach or a player like so how do you execute?
- 37:29[SPEAKER_02]: How do you fix execution?
- 37:30[SPEAKER_02]: Well, we got it just execute better or execute you to You to it's like it's like Mike Norvelle down to either we just got a respond well.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_02]: How do you respond to the responses like how are you doing that?
- 37:41[SPEAKER_04]: Just that's I don't think he should I think and I think he's just could extend it.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_04]: I think now.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_02]: I'll keep going.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_02]: Don't worry.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_02]: Did you lag away man, visit him?
- 37:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and then he's going to be worried.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_02]: They're a third string quarterback on the tell-hassie to stay the day.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_02]: Don't you worry about that.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_02]: Um, but anyways budget there's a light there.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_02]: There's some there's some things you could certainly put some blame on him as well And this team had to do better at linebacker.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_02]: How to do better at pass rush and that's severely once again It's not just like this last year, but it's been a year after year after year that these this buck's team cannot do But you brought in Jason Pierre Epin Paul mean
- 38:17[SPEAKER_02]: It's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called, it's called
- 38:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like I don't I don't understand like the quote wherever today that clown is now I haven't no idea.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe he is with a cowboys, but dude's dude's got seven and a half sacks this year and he whole as can be and he's still producing but we can't even get that out of a guy like a Hassan Reddick and we're having to bring in JPP like you had the opportunity to sign today that clown is obviously probably for a much cheaper proxies
- 39:03[SPEAKER_01]: then you would have that you signed has signed for.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_01]: So it's just like confusing decision after confusing.
- 39:08[SPEAKER_04]: Give them answer credit.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_04]: It's eight and a half sex this year.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_02]: Compared to how sonetics massive number of two and a half.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_02]: Who couldn't stay healthy for a full game to save his life.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_02]: That was an utter disappointment there, uh, son.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, we're going to have a lot more discussions, a lot more of these episodes.
- 39:30[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, right now, we're just trying to go through some of the big story lines from the last set 48 hours really, um, but, you know, there's a lot of deep dives that we will be doing and what the bucks need to fix going into the next season, but let's.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go over here real quick and do some of these player interviews gentlemen to wrap up this episode so river like I said you and I were there I was not a lot of players around Not a lot as expected pretty
- 39:57[SPEAKER_02]: Not a great mood, not a great mood, and luckily, you know, Tristan Worse.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_02]: He just won the Good Guy Award, which means that he speaks to the media, no matter whens, losses.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_02]: You know, he's just open to talk with the media, and he was there and gave us, you know, a good 10, 15 minute interview, which was great.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, he gave his admiration, I guess, you can say, to Todd Bowles, but also mentioned saying of something happens, something happens, if something doesn't happen.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_02]: some doesn't happen.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, I think that says a little bit there even saying that, you know, he likes Todd Bowles as a head coach.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_02]: But there was more to it over here from guys like Yaya Diabe and it's about the Yaya, which by Todd Bowles.
- 40:40[SPEAKER_02]: It'll through go go what you want to start off with first, because there's two from Yaya.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, there was a few big ones from Yaya.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_04]: Yaya came out firing.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_04]: I thought the most interesting one.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_04]: He talked about wanting to be a leader in the locker room, which we'll talk about.
- 40:56[SPEAKER_04]: But he said something paraphrase into the lines.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_04]: This is a complicated scheme at the book's run, and if you can't handle it, then you shouldn't be here.
- 41:07[SPEAKER_04]: which I thought was a pretty big glowing sort of glaring.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_04]: I should say sort of think to say about a lot of these other players.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_04]: Talk about the effort of players around him in the locker room, right?
- 41:22[SPEAKER_04]: And he said, I'm going to be a team captain next year potentially.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to say it how it is.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_04]: And in this case,
- 41:29[SPEAKER_04]: If you can't handle top bulls is complex game, then you should not be on the football team.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_04]: So that was coming out slain.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_04]: And then yeah, he mentioned he wants to be a leader of the locker room.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_04]: He's potentially going to be a team captain next year.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_04]: He said, and we'll talk about this too.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to go to top bulls and tell him we're having too many walkthrough practices.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_04]: Let's go.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to go up and tell him that because he's like, I'm a live learner.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_04]: I like to learn live mental reps don't do it for me.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_04]: So.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_04]: that's probably a common sentiment and actually it is a common sentiment because our good friends over at Pewter report there put out an article with a few players who did not want to be named saying yes there are too many walking practices so seems like there's a lot of things that would need to change
- 42:15[SPEAKER_04]: with this top bull's team.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_04]: And the more we hear about it, the more it's a lot more things that need to change.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_03]: So at that point, maybe something big needs to happen.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_03]: But we'll see how it goes.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_02]: Here is the video here on what y'all y'all do.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_02]: I'll be had to say.
- 42:31[SPEAKER_02]: Go for it.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, man.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_00]: He done so much for me.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_00]: I appreciate the guy like he's always honest and straightforward with us and tell us how it is.
- 42:41[SPEAKER_00]: And for me, like, like,
- 42:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to point no finger at him and he's done he's done so much for us at the end of the day is the guys in the building and the guys taking taking that step that we need to take as a whole to be a successful team and and it is
- 43:02[SPEAKER_00]: God be more vocal like myself, you know, I've been a God that you know lead by example, but but you know, that's that's over.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_00]: Over now, like I'm I'm I'm gonna talk and I'm gonna tell God's out of it and and if they like it, they like it and they don't and they don't um
- 43:20[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, really care.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_00]: I am.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_00]: Some strong quoteage there for me.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Abby.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_02]: A guy who, yes, when he's on the field, he is full of personality, energy, everything of that nature and a locker room.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's a, he's a, kind of socialized mechanics for the most part, it's sort of keeps himself out.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_02]: I always, you know, talking with him.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_02]: He was my guy that I voted as.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_02]: Good guy or just because he gives his some extra time with me.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_02]: and we talk about quarterbacks.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_02]: He's going after and some, you know, some of the guys that are slippery and, you know, all that kind of stuff.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_02]: But, Dabi, he's very straightforward here saying that I'm going to be stepping up to the plate here of vocal wise as a leader.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, there is going to be a guy, Levante David, that we all expect to retire to this season and the box need a leader.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_02]: They need someone that can speak up and hold guys accountable, and I think that was completely missed this last season, and Wantay David can try to do as much as he can, and I think he mainly does that after games in the locker room, but needs to happen on the field, and I thought it guys, like I in Twine Windfield, would have stepped up there on that regard, but that just hasn't been the case after he got that big time deal as being the highest paid defensive back and all of football.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_02]: they got to find a leader man and yeah you would love for yai yai diabe to be that but you know there was also a son retic on the other side that was a veteran that you brought in that you know you were hoping to step up as you know a guy that could be a leader for you and you didn't know how long he would be here in Tampa just off this one year deal but still you can tell that yai yai was looking for guys that would hold each other accountable and
- 44:53[SPEAKER_02]: He felt like Todd Bowles was putting him in the right places, and some guys maybe weren't doing their film work enough, or whenever they got on the field, they weren't taking full of bandage of it.
- 45:01[SPEAKER_02]: It's certainly some disconnect there, because also Jamel Dean spoke with us who he had, or spoke with Greg Alman, a Fox Sports.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_02]: Jamel Dean had a strong season.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_02]: Of course, once again, he gets injured into the year and that sucks.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_02]: And of course, he had some slip ups there and had those touchdowns that you could say Todd Bowles could put some better scheme out there and some of those touchdowns that were allowed absolutely, but Jamel Dean had one of his best seasons as a buck.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_02]: I would say.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_02]: Jamel Dean said, talking about persistent defensive struggles over all you said, you have to be honest with yourself.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes people understand the game plan going in during practice, but when the bullet start flying, you realize you weren't as prepared as you thought you were.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_04]: Why don't you also do me a favor and read Todd Bowles' response to that quote.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_04]: If I can do that, you know what, I'll find it.
- 46:02[SPEAKER_04]: I'll find it.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_04]: We examine everything.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_04]: I don't worry about how guys feel.
- 46:07[SPEAKER_04]: I'm worried about how guys play at the prepared during the week.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_04]: You've got to be prepared on Sunday.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_04]: I'm sure he was just talking, but whatever that was, I didn't see it.
- 46:15[SPEAKER_04]: I don't have a comment on that.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_04]: That was not a great way to answer that question.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_04]: Um, and I think it's a valid concern from Jamal Dean.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_04]: This could also be part of the walk through thing where
- 46:32[SPEAKER_04]: And if you're not actually doing it for a scheme this complex that might be tougher defensive backs and linebackers and safety is to be able to kind of put an action so
- 46:42[SPEAKER_04]: That's a huge concern, and Logan, you and I have talked about this, and I think maybe Caleb I've mentioned this as well.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_04]: This team, I think, could use a base defense, so they all know what they're doing to fall back into when it's when they need to, and I don't think they have anything like that.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_04]: I think it's, if you get in a hurry up or a two-minute situation, I think you're scrambling with always creative blitzes and stunts and drop-backs.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_04]: And they need something that they can just take their head in and know to do and clearly I don't think they had that this year.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_01]: And we've got a new update from Jeremy Fowler, ESPN, same old stat, or right now when it comes to bowls, says signs point to top bowls, returning to the box, possibly with new O.C.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_01]: in addition to the defensive staff.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_01]: So, that's quote right now for the coaching staff.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, we know that there's going to be other words that are going to be on the outspot.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_01]: Looks like bowls is being still at this moment in time.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_01]: So, very, very,
- 47:48[SPEAKER_01]: not telling at all, but when it's a bit in there, but yeah, I mean, executions.
- 47:53[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you've got to have a backup plan.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_01]: You can't just call zero blitz, you know, down in the red zone.
- 47:58[SPEAKER_01]: You just, you can't, there's just print that comes on you as a head coach as a defensive coordinator that comes on you as well.
- 48:07[SPEAKER_01]: So, um, I mean, the player seem to, I mean, ping a yarr yarr face.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_01]: He looks like he was like,
- 48:13[SPEAKER_01]: same words that didn't really match what his emotions were necessary.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_01]: We feeling on the inside and not a fair to say it.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure there's other guys that, you know, they probably had conversations within that locker room and not, you know, to the media and that's completely fine.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_01]: If that's happening, you have turmoil in the locker room, and you guys are not aligned, and that's a huge issue.
- 48:35[SPEAKER_01]: When your cook staff is not aligned, you've got a big massive problem.
- 48:41[SPEAKER_01]: It's the being a use car salesman, almost like you're selling somebody's things that they don't really want, and they're just kind of stuck with at that point in time.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yep, so there's a lot to follow here.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_02]: There's a lot that we'll be discussing moving forward and do the bucks Actually move on from bowls as right now seems like things are ahead in the direction where bowls will be your head coach in 2026, but there is going to be a lot of staff changes along with two
- 49:11[SPEAKER_02]: We'll have a big episode as well on this roster and how much has to change and what we see in my ovens in 2026.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_02]: Could it be an option where he goes to wear a team at the very end of his career says, hey, you know what, I want to go win one more Subaru.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_02]: I still feel like I can play at a high caliber, which to me he was and you know, we just saw the offense completely deteriorate
- 49:40[SPEAKER_02]: that this was this is it for Tampa but could it be another team?
- 49:44[SPEAKER_02]: Then you look over as well, you know, Baker Mayfield taught at Bowles spoke on it was asked if he's going to need any surgeries this offseason with all of those injuries that he suffered what he was playing through, but he said as of right now, as talking with he just doesn't know if that's going to be the case for him, but there's going to be a recovery process for sure.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_02]: Baker Mayfield.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_02]: bucks new offensive coordinator like we're just time out with Josh Resard.
- 50:08[SPEAKER_02]: bucks pass rush.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_02]: What are they doing free agency?
- 50:10[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, there is a lot.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_02]: It's a rehaul.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_02]: It's an absolute rehaul and it is if it is, Todd Bowes is last, you know, I say last season, but it's going to be pressured to be a potential last season if he doesn't.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, it's around.
- 50:23[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's not a real, be a real, you know, to just going to retool, according to the A.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, retool.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_01]: What is retool mean?
- 50:35[SPEAKER_02]: He got to get a lot of new tools.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_02]: He got to get a lot of new tools, my man, a lot of new tools.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, he's no longer, I think it was shared on Twitter.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_02]: But you know, Bruce Haren's no longer on the buck staff.
- 50:46[SPEAKER_02]: He's not there with them.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_02]: He's not there on a day-to-day basis.
- 50:48[SPEAKER_02]: He has connections.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_02]: There of course relationships absolutely 100%.
- 50:52[SPEAKER_02]: But he is not on the buck staff currently as we speak.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_02]: So he's over there doing some episodes of Pat McAfee.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to
- 51:00[SPEAKER_02]: back his guy with Todd Bowles who he handed the keys off to.
- 51:04[SPEAKER_02]: Of course he is.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_02]: That's absolutely going to happen.
- 51:06[SPEAKER_02]: But I think we're going to see some craziness no matter what man like right now you can say this that Todd Bowles is job is safe.
- 51:13[SPEAKER_02]: But like I just said, there could be some names.
- 51:16[SPEAKER_02]: We already saw with Harball coming out.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_02]: There's a strong coach with Kevin Stephansky.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_02]: We'll see what could happen with Matt LeFord.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_02]: There could be more as well.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_02]: We don't know.
- 51:24[SPEAKER_02]: But
- 51:24[SPEAKER_02]: This team has some things to work with offensively and it is, you know, a spot that you could come if some things are moved around and some roster restructuring happens in the right way.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_02]: This team, you know, is strong to make a fight in that NSC south of vision on a year to year basis and we'll see what the glazers do to decide to do.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_02]: that committee.
- 51:46[SPEAKER_02]: But that's going to do it for us.

- 52:26[SPEAKER_02]: But that's going to do it for us.
