- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah that Uh, Chuck Norris was chasing the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
- 0:05Speaker 2: The rex was not chasing the jeep. Murray, Murray, you there?
- 0:09Speaker 2: You love sandwiches?
- 0:10Speaker 3: Huh, Let's go to uh eighty.
- 0:13Speaker 4: It was bo.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Wow that Prime Time. Maybe I had a crush on
- 0:18Speaker 2: Betty Rubble.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I honestly, until after the segment ended and we went
- 0:22Speaker 1: to a commercial break, had no idea that Jonathan Coachman
- 0:25Speaker 1: was black.
- 0:25Speaker 2: He caught them the game last night, although they won
- 0:28Speaker 2: the game you're listening to to Godson Company.
- 0:32Speaker 1: So when Salakata filled in for me and Blue Tailor.
- 0:35Speaker 3: And mikey a away so much so that mikey.
- 0:37Speaker 1: A who's back on Who's back from vacation? Uh, spent
- 0:40Speaker 1: his vacation at Sal's house. Uh he probably wishes he did.
- 0:48Speaker 1: You wish you spent your vacation at Sal's house, don't you?
- 0:50Speaker 4: I do?
- 0:52Speaker 2: I do?
- 0:53Speaker 3: Why was that bad?
- 0:56Speaker 5: Because when you go to Disney, every breath you take
- 0:58Speaker 5: costs you nine dollars?
- 1:01Speaker 3: Put it on the pole.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Tailor, when you go to Disney, does every step you
- 1:05Speaker 1: take cost you nine dollars?
- 1:08Speaker 3: I think you're right.
- 1:09Speaker 1: But anyway, when Sal filled in for me, he opened
- 1:13Speaker 1: he had an opening monologue.
- 1:14Speaker 2: It blew mikey A away.
- 1:16Speaker 1: It blew Tailor away so much so that I think
- 1:19Speaker 1: they still wish they were producing sal show instead of mine,
- 1:22Speaker 1: but they're not. And sal was saying that Dexter Lawrence
- 1:27Speaker 1: needs to remain with the Giants. The Giants need to
- 1:29Speaker 1: hold on to him, need to sign him to a
- 1:31Speaker 1: long term contract, and the Giants weren't listening.
- 1:38Speaker 3: Sala was with us, good morning.
- 1:39Speaker 6: Sal oh Man. I know, unfortunately for the Giants, they
- 1:43Speaker 6: were not listening. I will say those two, like when
- 1:46Speaker 6: we were talking about that the other day, I still
- 1:48Speaker 6: think it's there's people now trying to spin it into like, well,
- 1:51Speaker 6: it's a great thing because they got the tenth overall pick. No,
- 1:53Speaker 6: it's still bad because they gave up the best player
- 1:56Speaker 6: in the Like the Bengals knew what they were doing.
- 1:58Speaker 6: The Bengals selected with their tenth pick, Dexter Lawrence, a
- 2:01Speaker 6: guy who's proven an all pro. But considering the fact
- 2:04Speaker 6: that it seems like there's Lawrence did not want to
- 2:07Speaker 6: be with the Giants. I can't even knock the Giants here.
- 2:09Speaker 6: This is they maximize the return. So from that standpoint,
- 2:12Speaker 6: it was good I still think ultimately though, they got
- 2:14Speaker 6: the short end of it, trading away.
- 2:16Speaker 4: The best player. If you're trying to win now, you
- 2:17Speaker 4: want Dexter Lawrence, not that tenth pick.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Well, are the Giants trying to win now?
- 2:21Speaker 1: It was a smart move, But I was surprised to
- 2:23Speaker 1: see that the Bengals were willing to make that trade,
- 2:25Speaker 1: because the Bengals never do that. I was, and then
- 2:28Speaker 1: extended Lawrence as well, So I was surprised by that.
- 2:31Speaker 1: But are the Giants going for it right now? I
- 2:33Speaker 1: guess I guess they When you get John Harbaugh, I
- 2:35Speaker 1: guess you're going for it right now.
- 2:36Speaker 6: Well, Horriball, it's part of why I want them to
- 2:38Speaker 6: keep Lawrence. Horball said they're gonna try to win every game,
- 2:41Speaker 6: and I believe that they are. But when you make
- 2:43Speaker 6: a move like this, why not then just consider that
- 2:46Speaker 6: they need to really strip it down. But there's talk
- 2:49Speaker 6: about maybe trading Kveon Thibodeau. I know how much money
- 2:51Speaker 6: the Giants have, Well, yeah, what do you do with
- 2:53Speaker 6: that money? You'd like to go get a player like
- 2:54Speaker 6: Dexter Lawrence. So maybe they're just kind of forced in
- 2:57Speaker 6: a way to semi rebuild. They have the core back
- 3:00Speaker 6: in plays, they have the top wide receiver, they have
- 3:02Speaker 6: you know, Scataboo with running backs, so they have some pieces.
- 3:05Speaker 6: But maybe in year one with Horriball, it's less about
- 3:08Speaker 6: winning eight or nine games and more about him bringing
- 3:11Speaker 6: in players that he believes can really build a sustained
- 3:14Speaker 6: successful foundation.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Mike, were you surprised that the Bengals were willing to
- 3:18Speaker 1: make this trade?
- 3:19Speaker 3: I figured the Giants would trade Lawrence.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I was surprised it was the Cincinnati for the tenth
- 3:23Speaker 1: pick in the draft.
- 3:25Speaker 5: It's funny because everything you read was that the Bengals
- 3:28Speaker 5: were in a bad spot picking at ten with what
- 3:31Speaker 5: they needed and.
- 3:32Speaker 3: What was likely to be available.
- 3:34Speaker 5: So them pulling off this deal to get a player
- 3:36Speaker 5: of Dexter Lawrence's impact for the tenth pick, which might
- 3:40Speaker 5: have been kind of a Okay, I guess we'll take
- 3:43Speaker 5: this guy type of pick.
- 3:45Speaker 2: I mean, it was pretty good.
- 3:46Speaker 5: And to the Giants standpoint, isn't Dexter Lawrence the kind
- 3:50Speaker 5: of person you want when you got a quarterback on
- 3:53Speaker 5: a rookie deal, Like, isn't that the oh we get
- 3:55Speaker 5: to spend elsewhere and really go heavy on on these
- 3:59Speaker 5: outlines players because we don't have to pay our quarterback right.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Now, not if the guy doesn't want to be there though,
- 4:05Speaker 1: I mean he doesn't want to be there.
- 4:06Speaker 2: That was I must have really not wanted to be there.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Well, yeah, John Harbaugh senses you really don't want to
- 4:12Speaker 1: be on his team.
- 4:12Speaker 2: He's going to get rid of you. I mean, that's
- 4:14Speaker 2: just the way it is, right.
- 4:15Speaker 6: So and then when you have to do that to
- 4:17Speaker 6: get the tenth pick back where many people, like experts
- 4:20Speaker 6: that I was talking to, were like, well, maybe they
- 4:21Speaker 6: get a first round.
- 4:22Speaker 4: I'm like, maybe a first round or for.
- 4:24Speaker 6: A guy like that, you better get more than that,
- 4:26Speaker 6: and they ended up getting the tenth pick.
- 4:28Speaker 4: I do think it was clear.
- 4:29Speaker 6: I mean Lawrence, there was a report about his agent
- 4:31Speaker 6: saying that Lawrence didn't want to talk to Harball after
- 4:33Speaker 6: he requested the trade. So I think this was a
- 4:36Speaker 6: spot that Joe Shane and the Giants, because of the
- 4:39Speaker 6: way they handled things for the last several years, Lawrence
- 4:42Speaker 6: just did not want to be your period, end of story.
- 4:43Speaker 6: They would have had to overpay maybe to keep him,
- 4:46Speaker 6: and then that's why the Giants had had their hand
- 4:47Speaker 6: forced perfect world, Harball would have had dexter Lawrence playing
- 4:51Speaker 6: defensive tackle. It's not a perfect world for the Giants.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Yeah, that overpay.
- 4:54Speaker 7: You're looking at what the Bengals gave him a one year,
- 4:57Speaker 7: twenty eight million dollar extension. If you're the Giant, I
- 5:00Speaker 7: know you would you would like to keep Lawrence in
- 5:03Speaker 7: an ideal world, but coming off a down year, Yeah,
- 5:06Speaker 7: it's kind of hard to justify paying a player like
- 5:09Speaker 7: Dexter Lawrence, who plays that inside position twenty eight million,
- 5:13Speaker 7: when you have so many other holes on your offense.
- 5:16Speaker 7: But to Mikey's point, I think the Bengals trade for
- 5:19Speaker 7: him just kind of speaks to that larger point that
- 5:21Speaker 7: NFL teams don't really seem to love the top end
- 5:24Speaker 7: talent in this draft.
- 5:26Speaker 6: Did you guys see the quote from Brian Burns here?
- 5:28Speaker 6: So this is another part of like the negative. The
- 5:30Speaker 6: Giants have a culture issue that horrible. I would expect
- 5:33Speaker 6: Harble is going to clean it up. But Brian Burns,
- 5:36Speaker 6: he was talking about speaking for me. The Giants ain't
- 5:39Speaker 6: the Giants without ninety seven Dexter Lawrence. He said this
- 5:42Speaker 6: to the post. So we're gonna figure that out. Keep
- 5:44Speaker 6: him here regardless. I hope that's my boy. I don't
- 5:47Speaker 6: want to play this season or any other season without him. Now,
- 5:50Speaker 6: I wouldn't take that literally, but it does show you.
- 5:53Speaker 6: And Burns is one of the best. I mean, he's
- 5:55Speaker 6: their best defensive player now, so when your best defensive player,
- 5:59Speaker 6: this is what a new head coach with Harbball Burnt
- 6:01Speaker 6: talking about. I don't want to play with him without
- 6:03Speaker 6: him there. Now, you got that fence to mend a
- 6:06Speaker 6: little bit if you're horrible. And again, Harball, I expect
- 6:08Speaker 6: we'll clean this up, but I don't think it's just
- 6:10Speaker 6: as easy.
- 6:10Speaker 4: As well.
- 6:10Speaker 6: They got rid of a guy who had a down
- 6:12Speaker 6: year last year and seemed to be a little bit
- 6:14Speaker 6: of a problem for the tenth overall pick. All is
- 6:16Speaker 6: great Dexel Lawrence was beloved by by the leader, at
- 6:19Speaker 6: least on the defense, if not others in that locker room.
- 6:22Speaker 4: So I think the giants here have some issues.
- 6:23Speaker 6: And may be Harball taking over more than he thought
- 6:26Speaker 6: a little bit more of an undertaking than he initially
- 6:28Speaker 6: thought when he took over the Giants.
- 6:29Speaker 1: I think Harbor, though, is the kind of coach who says, hey,
- 6:31Speaker 1: you don't want to play with that guy or right,
- 6:33Speaker 1: get the fuck out of here.
- 6:34Speaker 3: I'll trade you too, I.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Mean, right, as he should.
- 6:37Speaker 5: As he should, that would be the right thing, Yes,
- 6:39Speaker 5: but it shouldn't it be more like Harbaugh's the guy
- 6:42Speaker 5: that's gonna mend these fences. Harball is supposed to be
- 6:44Speaker 5: this leader of men. He's a special teams coach. He's
- 6:46Speaker 5: not an offensive or defensive guy. He's more of a
- 6:49Speaker 5: CEO type. Shouldn't he be the guy that's gonna be like, hey,
- 6:52Speaker 5: let me talk to Dexter Lawrence. I'll get a hold
- 6:54Speaker 5: of him and we're gonna smooth all this out. We'll
- 6:56Speaker 5: figure out the money, all that stuff. And instead it
- 6:58Speaker 5: seems like he's like, oh, fine, you don't want to play,
- 7:00Speaker 5: go bye.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Yeah, but he got good value in return, so I mean.
- 7:04Speaker 6: And the agent said that he Dexall Lawrence did not
- 7:08Speaker 6: want to According to the report, it sounds like Dexa
- 7:10Speaker 6: Lawrence did not want to talk.
- 7:11Speaker 4: To Harball so as much as Horsball would.
- 7:14Speaker 6: Want that, like, hey, let me talk to him. One
- 7:15Speaker 6: of the big reasons I loved Harble was thinking, okay, good,
- 7:18Speaker 6: he's going to maximize Dexel Lawrence, who's an elite talent
- 7:21Speaker 6: at his position, had a down year out of shape.
- 7:23Speaker 6: Harble will maximize that. But it sounds like Harball couldn't
- 7:26Speaker 6: even get a chance to talk to Lawrence once Dexter
- 7:28Speaker 6: requested that the trade.
- 7:30Speaker 5: To that point, when when Harball won his Super Bowl,
- 7:33Speaker 5: who did he have at nose time? He had Helodinada.
- 7:36Speaker 5: That's that's the kind of guy. That's the kind of
- 7:38Speaker 5: guy he likes in the middle.
- 7:40Speaker 6: No matter what you do at the five or ten
- 7:43Speaker 6: or with both those picks, now, it's not you. It
- 7:45Speaker 6: goes back to the Jets years ago. You guys are
- 7:47Speaker 6: know the Jet f like you trade de rol Reevs. Okay,
- 7:49Speaker 6: they were in a spot they felt they had a
- 7:50Speaker 6: trade revis who'd they select with the six pick or
- 7:53Speaker 6: I think it was a six pick? I mean, I mean,
- 7:55Speaker 6: come on, so, like, you're not going to replace you
- 7:58Speaker 6: hope as an NFL team to draft a player the
- 8:01Speaker 6: caliber of Dexter Lawrence one day. I don't think this
- 8:03Speaker 6: draft has that. That's why maybe instead of thinking about
- 8:06Speaker 6: the Giants competing legitimately this year, maybe it is kick
- 8:09Speaker 6: down the road a.
- 8:09Speaker 4: Little bit, Stu.
- 8:10Speaker 7: I saw the last time the Jet the Giants had
- 8:13Speaker 7: two top ten picks in the same draft. Yeah, Cavon
- 8:17Speaker 7: Thibodeau and Evan Neil. So right, if you're the Giants,
- 8:20Speaker 7: I think you're hoping these two picks go a little
- 8:23Speaker 7: better than that.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Yes, and Thibodeau is uh, he's on the trading block
- 8:26Speaker 1: as well, So it is interesting from the Bengals standpoint,
- 8:30Speaker 1: I find it even more interesting.
- 8:32Speaker 2: First Off, Dexter.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Lawrence had half a sack last year, am I right, haven't.
- 8:36Speaker 6: Back, but he's still I mean, even in a down year.
- 8:38Speaker 6: I was reading, so look, I don't get into the metrics,
- 8:40Speaker 6: it's boring, but there were still signs to show that
- 8:43Speaker 6: even in a down year and without the sack production,
- 8:46Speaker 6: he still was one of the most productive defensive tackles
- 8:49Speaker 6: as far as putting pressure on quarterbacks, even in the
- 8:52Speaker 6: down year.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Right, but his career high is nine right, I mean.
- 8:56Speaker 3: Even nose tackle nose tackle.
- 8:59Speaker 1: I feel like we're maybe Dexter Lawrence out to be
- 9:01Speaker 1: a little bit more than he actually is. They got
- 9:03Speaker 1: the tenth pick in the draft for Dexter fucking Lawrence.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Good job by John Horbaugh and Joe Shane.
- 9:07Speaker 6: I mean, but the Bengals now, still you look at it,
- 9:10Speaker 6: see I look at it more of I don't think
- 9:12Speaker 6: it's a bad trade for the Giants to be able
- 9:14Speaker 6: to get that type of return in a spot where
- 9:16Speaker 6: you had to give up this player. I would, if
- 9:18Speaker 6: I'm trying to win now, rather have Dexter Lawrence than
- 9:20Speaker 6: the tenth pick in the draft r which is why
- 9:22Speaker 6: I would give the Bengals credit saying that, Hey, the
- 9:24Speaker 6: one thing the Bengals can't do is stop anybody. They
- 9:26Speaker 6: could school with the best of them, they can't stop anybody.
- 9:28Speaker 6: Now you have an elite defensive tackle.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Well, no, I was gonna say from the Bengals perspective,
- 9:32Speaker 1: You're in a division where the Ravens have a new
- 9:34Speaker 1: head coach, the Steelers don't have a quarterback, and the
- 9:38Speaker 1: Cleveland Browns, right, and you're trying to impress Joe Burrow.
- 9:42Speaker 1: You are because I believe after next season, Joe Burrow
- 9:45Speaker 1: can leave Cincinnati if he wants to. So you have
- 9:48Speaker 1: to do something to show Joe Burrow that you're trying
- 9:51Speaker 1: to make an effort to win now inside of his window,
- 9:55Speaker 1: because that division is up for grabs, and why not
- 9:59Speaker 1: Cincinnati when you consider what it is I just told
- 10:02Speaker 1: you Ravens new head coach, the Cleveland Browns.
- 10:06Speaker 2: And the Steelers don't have a fucking quarterback.
- 10:09Speaker 7: That's why the trade for me just reeks off a
- 10:11Speaker 7: little bit of desperation from the Bengals.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Yeah, preaching, but.
- 10:15Speaker 6: They get a great defensive Where are they getting a
- 10:18Speaker 6: better player tenth pick? Another trade like, we can minimize
- 10:22Speaker 6: Dexter Lawrence all you want. After a down year last year,
- 10:25Speaker 6: he's still one of the best defensive tackles in the
- 10:27Speaker 6: game even off of that, and if they could get
- 10:29Speaker 6: the good decks, maybe he's more motivated. I mean, that's
- 10:31Speaker 6: a whole other issue. But I think that they met
- 10:33Speaker 6: to me. The Bengals did the best that they possibly
- 10:36Speaker 6: could try to upgrade their defense with this.
- 10:38Speaker 1: I was thinking that if they were willing to give
- 10:40Speaker 1: up the tenth pick in the draft, why not Max Crosby,
- 10:44Speaker 1: like the Raiders have to be desperate, they want to
- 10:46Speaker 1: get rid of the guy. Why not go if you're
- 10:47Speaker 1: willing to go that far in. I know it was
- 10:50Speaker 1: two first round picks, but that trade has been that
- 10:53Speaker 1: trade is no longer. He's with the Las Vegas Raiders.
- 10:56Speaker 1: If he the Raiders, you have to try to get
- 10:57Speaker 1: the best you can, the best compensation package you can
- 11:00Speaker 1: for Max Crosby and less they're figuring, hey, you know what,
- 11:03Speaker 1: we have a chance. Now we like the moves we
- 11:05Speaker 1: made in the offseason, Now we want to keep Max Crosby.
- 11:07Speaker 1: It was a blessing in disguise. But that's a real
- 11:09Speaker 1: signe to Joe Burrow that you're really going for it
- 11:12Speaker 1: if you.
- 11:12Speaker 3: Go out and get that guy.
- 11:13Speaker 1: And I think Max would want to play there, because
- 11:14Speaker 1: who wouldn't want to play with Joe Burrow?
- 11:16Speaker 5: You know, I think Dexter Lawrence might fill a little
- 11:19Speaker 5: bit more than just a pass rush role for the Bengals.
- 11:22Speaker 5: The Bengals were getting gashed in the run game too,
- 11:25Speaker 5: and that's just something that Dexter Lawrence doesn't allow to happen.
- 11:28Speaker 5: And then you go back to what I said earlier,
- 11:30Speaker 5: where when you looked at how the draft is going
- 11:32Speaker 5: to play out, where the Bengals were picking, it was
- 11:35Speaker 5: going to be you were going to have to either
- 11:37Speaker 5: reach for somebody or take a position that maybe you
- 11:40Speaker 5: didn't want to sure at this point, now you you
- 11:43Speaker 5: solidify the interior of your defense. And it did and
- 11:47Speaker 5: it only cost you one pick as opposed to going
- 11:49Speaker 5: to get Max Crosby, who might be a better player,
- 11:52Speaker 5: but would cost you more than one first round pick.
- 11:56Speaker 4: I think you could.
- 11:57Speaker 6: I think you could argue that Dexter Lawrenrence at his peak,
- 12:01Speaker 6: could be more valuable to a defense, and in this
- 12:04Speaker 6: case specific your Bangles defense than Crawlsby. I know it's
- 12:07Speaker 6: not as sexy sexy decks, but but what he does
- 12:11Speaker 6: stop the wrong, put pressure on the quarterback, and plus
- 12:13Speaker 6: Crosby banged up with who knows how significant his health is,
- 12:17Speaker 6: and I'm not even sure he's available, but just pounds
- 12:19Speaker 6: for pound, I think Dexel Lawrence can impact this defense,
- 12:21Speaker 6: if not as well as Crosby, even better than Crosby
- 12:24Speaker 6: could have.
- 12:26Speaker 7: Did anybody else have the same reaction where the Crosby
- 12:28Speaker 7: trade has scarred you so much for something you never
- 12:32Speaker 7: really thought about. It says the deal is pending the physical,
- 12:37Speaker 7: and once I've never thought about physical before that, But
- 12:40Speaker 7: when I saw that it was pending Dexter Lawrence's physical
- 12:43Speaker 7: when he got to Cincinnati, I was like, uh uh,
- 12:46Speaker 7: something could be up here, could get reversed.
- 12:50Speaker 2: Is that what you're saying?
- 12:51Speaker 1: Yeah, hopefully for the Giants will hopefully just for salad
- 12:55Speaker 1: will get reversed. He wanted to get reversed. He doesn't
- 12:58Speaker 1: care about the bad physical take it. He wants them back.
- 13:01Speaker 1: He doesn't want the tenth pick in the draft. You
- 13:02Speaker 1: have the fifth and the tenth bick of the draft.
- 13:04Speaker 1: The Giants control the draft, and.
- 13:06Speaker 6: I will say ultimately that I do trust Horball, like whatever.
- 13:10Speaker 4: Happened, however, we got here before this.
- 13:12Speaker 6: I think if you're a Giant fan, you have to
- 13:14Speaker 6: be excited just because Harball is running the show and
- 13:17Speaker 6: letting him now get two of the top ten picks
- 13:20Speaker 6: in this draft. You would think at some point that
- 13:22Speaker 6: will pay dividends, whether it's this year or in coming season.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Taylor, how are we.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Feeling about the Knicks after one game here against the Hawks.
- 13:39Speaker 2: I'm feeling pretty good. I gotta be honest with you.
- 13:41Speaker 7: Pay Yeah, you know what, this could come back to
- 13:45Speaker 7: be a freezing cold tape.
- 13:46Speaker 3: The Hawks were never concerned. We're gonna get the Hawks
- 13:49Speaker 3: up out of.
- 13:49Speaker 7: Here or maybe five games Boston is when the knixt
- 13:54Speaker 7: playoff really starts.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Right, So this is the biggest story in New York.
- 14:00Speaker 1: It's not the Mets losing streak. It's not the Yankees
- 14:03Speaker 1: star well, it could be the Mets. Like you're on
- 14:06Speaker 1: so Sally, you're on wfan today, what are you leading with?
- 14:09Speaker 1: Are you leading with the Mets? And I listen, you
- 14:12Speaker 1: wish you were on wfa N today. I wish I
- 14:16Speaker 1: was on there with you, But we're not.
- 14:17Speaker 4: We're here.
- 14:18Speaker 1: But if you were doing a wfan show today, you'd
- 14:21Speaker 1: be leading.
- 14:22Speaker 6: With what it's the Mets? The Mets losing the level,
- 14:25Speaker 6: it's it's a train wreck. So the Knicks win a
- 14:29Speaker 6: the Knicks crush a first round.
- 14:31Speaker 4: Opponent in Game one.
- 14:33Speaker 6: I know people are putting honey all over themselves in
- 14:35Speaker 6: the street and celebrating like it's a parade championship.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Freem.
- 14:38Speaker 4: Yeah, that's not the story.
- 14:40Speaker 6: The main story, sadly, is the Mets that they've become
- 14:43Speaker 6: must watched for all the wrong reasons. Now tomorrow they're
- 14:45Speaker 6: off on Monday, Tuesday, it's gonna be Are they gonna
- 14:47Speaker 6: lose twelve in ar Old? We'll look at to thirteen
- 14:49Speaker 6: year old. It's the Mets. Unfortunately, dude, they haven't had
- 14:52Speaker 6: this type of losing streak in April since their inception
- 14:55Speaker 6: in nineteen sixty two.
- 14:57Speaker 4: There was supposed to be a legitimate team. This is clear.
- 15:00Speaker 4: The lead in New York today. The Mets ineptitude embarrassment.
- 15:04Speaker 2: They're just eight back though, I mean.
- 15:08Speaker 6: Right, they've only played they've only played twenty games, and
- 15:11Speaker 6: so they're eight back already.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Oh man.
- 15:14Speaker 7: So a couple of weeks ago we did uh my
- 15:17Speaker 7: my tiers on a Tuesday. It was baseball teams. Yeah,
- 15:20Speaker 7: the Mets were six and four. I didn't have them
- 15:23Speaker 7: in the contender tier. I didn't have them in the
- 15:26Speaker 7: let's let's wait to see how they do. I had
- 15:28Speaker 7: them in the bad Vibes tier. Stu laughed me out
- 15:32Speaker 7: of the room, crazy for saying a team in first
- 15:35Speaker 7: place six and four had bad vibes.
- 15:38Speaker 3: They've lost eleven trade.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Yes, he did say that at the time, though, why
- 15:43Speaker 1: would I do anything other than lefts. They were six
- 15:45Speaker 1: and four and in first place ten games into the season, I.
- 15:48Speaker 6: Mean, and they won the next game after that, and
- 15:50Speaker 6: they have won one since and that's been.
- 15:52Speaker 3: It for the Mets.
- 15:53Speaker 4: You you could see though that.
- 15:55Speaker 6: They look at you, even when they were winning to
- 15:59Speaker 6: tailor point, even when they had some wins on the board,
- 16:02Speaker 6: they were just not playing good baseball. But I mean
- 16:05Speaker 6: to say that they would lose eleven in a row now,
- 16:07Speaker 6: I will say it's not an excuse, but they have
- 16:09Speaker 6: been without Wan Soto. He's one of the top three
- 16:11Speaker 6: offensive players in the sport. That's gonna hurt them. And
- 16:14Speaker 6: then it's just I think the pressure of New York,
- 16:16Speaker 6: the New guys not gelling. It is snowball to a
- 16:20Speaker 6: point of where now I'm giving them a week. If
- 16:22Speaker 6: they or a week and half the next nine games
- 16:24Speaker 6: they're home standing here against the Twins, the Rockies, and
- 16:26Speaker 6: the Nationals. If they don't go at least six and three,
- 16:29Speaker 6: I think you could put a fork in the twenty
- 16:30Speaker 6: twenty six.
- 16:31Speaker 1: Oh Jesus Christ, we're putting a fork in them already.
- 16:34Speaker 3: My goodness, I'll.
- 16:36Speaker 4: Get I'll be lenients to most people around around and
- 16:38Speaker 4: have them dead.
- 16:39Speaker 1: I'm saying to give them another nine games time out,
- 16:41Speaker 1: so if they go six and three, they're still alive.
- 16:43Speaker 3: If they go five and four, you're putting the fork in.
- 16:46Speaker 4: I know it sounds crazy, but yes, I know.
- 16:49Speaker 3: No, I'm proud of you. It's a very wfi entime thing.
- 16:52Speaker 4: That said minimum six and three can't get worse than that?
- 16:56Speaker 3: Got it?
- 16:56Speaker 1: Minimum six seven to two? God forbid, I mean World Series.
- 17:00Speaker 5: Jesus The interesting part is it's not just this beginning
- 17:04Speaker 5: of April. Since July of last year, the Mets are
- 17:07Speaker 5: tied for third for the most losses in Major League Baseball,
- 17:12Speaker 5: trailing only the Rockies and the White Sox.
- 17:15Speaker 2: This is a team with the top what two or
- 17:17Speaker 2: three payroll.
- 17:18Speaker 5: Yeah, I can't now that this is This is to
- 17:22Speaker 5: Taylor's point, this is just bad vibes.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Yeah, but you're a week late to that party.
- 17:28Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, I was very early.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Taylor neled it at seven to four.
- 17:33Speaker 4: Yeah, ahead of the curve.
- 17:35Speaker 6: I know, if they if they don't get this turnaround,
- 17:40Speaker 6: like the manager unfortunately, is gonna get fired like this
- 17:43Speaker 6: is it has gotten so bad here that I don't know.
- 17:47Speaker 6: I mean, if they don't get a turnaround soon, think
- 17:48Speaker 6: about that. We're not even we didn't even conclude April
- 17:51Speaker 6: this going on.
- 17:53Speaker 2: We're not at the draft yet.
- 17:55Speaker 6: Why yes, And they're gonna fire the manager. They are already
- 17:57Speaker 6: in last play seasons over.
- 17:58Speaker 4: I was excited for baseball For this. I'm embarrassed. It's
- 18:02Speaker 4: beyond anger. You know how many texts I'm getting your
- 18:05Speaker 4: Mets sock.
- 18:06Speaker 6: It's over Met fans ripping the Mets Yankee fans tweaking
- 18:09Speaker 6: me about the Mets.
- 18:10Speaker 4: I can't take it. Ye, it was supposed to be
- 18:12Speaker 4: a good year.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Good has Jerry reached out to you? Seinfeld?
- 18:18Speaker 4: So I did, though.
- 18:19Speaker 6: I texted his buddy who were at the game with
- 18:21Speaker 6: and I said, sadly, I think we peaked when we
- 18:22Speaker 6: watched them in spring training.
- 18:23Speaker 4: The game that we were med.
- 18:24Speaker 1: I think put it on the poletail the Mets peak
- 18:27Speaker 1: in spring training.
- 18:30Speaker 7: So so I saw a stat that no team has
- 18:33Speaker 7: ever made it to the playoffs after losing twelve or
- 18:37Speaker 7: more in a row. So, tomorrow versus the Twins, I
- 18:39Speaker 7: know you're kind of giving them the next nine games
- 18:42Speaker 7: to see how they do.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Tomorrow.
- 18:43Speaker 2: That's it. That's it.
- 18:44Speaker 3: It's a must win. Yeah, tomorrow win.
- 18:47Speaker 6: Here's why it's a must win. And I don't know
- 18:49Speaker 6: if Soto's coming back. He may be back tomorrow, he
- 18:51Speaker 6: may be back on Wednesday, but they do have Noel
- 18:54Speaker 6: McLean pitching tomorrow. I'm gonna say this, if the Mets
- 18:58Speaker 6: don't win, forget the six and three. If they don't
- 19:00Speaker 6: win tomorrow, yeah, I would predict then shortly thereafter, Yeah, yeah,
- 19:05Speaker 6: the managers are gonna get fired and they were eventually
- 19:07Speaker 6: gonna have to play like gotta be the one.
- 19:10Speaker 1: If they lose tomorrow, are you saying the manager gets
- 19:13Speaker 1: fired the next day?
- 19:14Speaker 4: What we're saying not the next day.
- 19:16Speaker 6: But I don't know if he would survive much longer
- 19:19Speaker 6: than than April. Honestly, Like you can't still if they
- 19:23Speaker 6: lose tomorrow, you're talking about twelve straight.
- 19:24Speaker 4: That's their best.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Picture and no one's ever done it.
- 19:27Speaker 6: Right, Yes, the crowd is gonna go nuts like it's
- 19:30Speaker 6: gonna be the bad vibes.
- 19:31Speaker 4: Taylor was right. The vibe is gonna be at an
- 19:34Speaker 4: all time low.
- 19:35Speaker 1: I gotta tell you, this makes this the biggest Mets
- 19:37Speaker 1: game since nineteen eighty six games seven against the Red Sox,
- 19:40Speaker 1: I mean.
- 19:41Speaker 6: Forty years later. This is a right, it's a it's
- 19:48Speaker 6: a must win. If you could have a must win
- 19:50Speaker 6: in Major League Baseball on April twenty first, this is it.
- 19:56Speaker 3: On the topic of baseball.
- 19:58Speaker 7: I have to put my hand up for a second
- 20:00Speaker 7: because I was at the Yankee game on Friday. I
- 20:03Speaker 7: went to It was like the hockey Jersey giveaway night.
- 20:06Speaker 3: Go to that game. Cam Schlittler on the mound through.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Yes, he threw a jam huh.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Right, Okay, he still wouldn't trade him straight up for
- 20:13Speaker 1: Skens though, right Nope, s E R. Did you go
- 20:18Speaker 1: to the game with Sal by the way, just just
- 20:20Speaker 1: before you get to your point, Sal, they want to
- 20:26Speaker 1: leave Mike Ya, okay, no.
- 20:27Speaker 4: No, Unfortunately I should have left my wife.
- 20:29Speaker 6: I was knee deep in family obligations tailors at the
- 20:31Speaker 6: Knicks Yankees game.
- 20:32Speaker 4: I mean, it's ridiculous.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Yes, I thought with you, yes, but you got out
- 20:36Speaker 3: of it.
- 20:36Speaker 4: He's living the life I want to live.
- 20:39Speaker 3: Well because he didn't have kids. He's not dummy get married.
- 20:46Speaker 7: So I'm at this Yankee game and the Yankees are
- 20:49Speaker 7: are leading for most of the way.
- 20:51Speaker 3: Then they start to blow it.
- 20:53Speaker 7: Camille Duval comes in and I'm already I'm already heckling
- 20:57Speaker 7: in my seat, saying, this guy's gonna blow it, this
- 21:00Speaker 7: guy's gonna blow it. Two pitchers later, Vinnie Pascatino hits
- 21:03Speaker 7: a home run to tie the game. Then in the
- 21:07Speaker 7: in the eighth inning, I believe somebody gets on base
- 21:12Speaker 7: and Aaron Boone goes to Ryan McMahon off the bench,
- 21:15Speaker 7: and Ryan McMahon since being traded to the Yankees, has
- 21:19Speaker 7: been arguably the worst hitter in all of baseball. Okay,
- 21:24Speaker 7: just just terrible, uncompetitive at bats after uncompetitive at bats.
- 21:29Speaker 7: Now I'm now I'm heckling even more, screaming like, great decision,
- 21:33Speaker 7: great decision, This is exactly the guy we need up
- 21:36Speaker 7: in the spot.
- 21:36Speaker 3: M hm.
- 21:38Speaker 7: The pitch comes in Ryan McMahon hits, hits an opposite
- 21:41Speaker 7: field home run.
- 21:42Speaker 1: You motivated him? Yeah, I mean you could twist that around.
- 21:45Speaker 1: I mean he started feeling it and so he motivated him. Congratulations.
- 21:50Speaker 6: I think with Boone in that spot, it was better
- 21:52Speaker 6: to be lucky than good. With the two to one lead,
- 21:54Speaker 6: he brings in McMahon for defensive replacement, right, like, okay,
- 21:58Speaker 6: well we don't need the runs we need show up
- 22:00Speaker 6: the defense deval gives.
- 22:02Speaker 4: Up the homer to tie it.
- 22:03Speaker 6: Here comes up McMahon now in a big spot and homer,
- 22:06Speaker 6: so boom. I don't think Boone would have ever had
- 22:09Speaker 6: him hit in that spot. He better to be lucky
- 22:11Speaker 6: than good in there.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Uh, Taylor, when you're doing that heckling as like, does
- 22:15Speaker 1: anyone join in?
- 22:16Speaker 2: Or the Yankee fans joining in?
- 22:17Speaker 3: Are they?
- 22:17Speaker 2: Are they heckling him as well? Like what happened there? Oh?
- 22:21Speaker 7: I think I'm in the majority in terms of Yankee
- 22:24Speaker 7: fans and kind of despising this team. Like we love
- 22:26Speaker 7: this team, but we despise this team. So when I'm heckling,
- 22:31Speaker 7: I'm kind of just feeding off the people in my
- 22:32Speaker 7: section that are also saying that this Yankee team stinks.
- 22:35Speaker 1: All right, but McMahon specifically, they started the heckling.
- 22:38Speaker 2: It wasn't you they started it.
- 22:39Speaker 3: No, I started the.
- 22:40Speaker 7: Second the second I heard the PA announcer say Ryan
- 22:44Speaker 7: McMahon coming up the bat, I was like, get ready,
- 22:46Speaker 7: guys in the double play, coming up right here.
- 22:51Speaker 5: Taylor, I got a question for you. Are you the
- 22:53Speaker 5: guy in the stands at the game that turns around
- 22:55Speaker 5: and is trying to throw his arms up to get
- 22:57Speaker 5: everybody to get everybody loud?
- 22:59Speaker 3: Is that you?
- 23:00Speaker 2: He is? Yeah?
- 23:00Speaker 3: Occasionally?
- 23:01Speaker 7: Yeah, Yeah, I'm not above trying to get the crowd
- 23:04Speaker 7: pumped up.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Yeah, big third down, You're not standing up and cheering.
- 23:07Speaker 1: I mean, Taylor's can get all over you.
- 23:09Speaker 3: Right Yeah.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I hate you at the game.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Just so so if you were a radio Row, I hate.
- 23:15Speaker 2: You at the game.
- 23:15Speaker 1: Yes, Radio Row Taylor is the best version of Taylor.
- 23:18Speaker 1: So when you have when you're heckling at Yankee Stadium,
- 23:21Speaker 1: and then McMahon hits the home run. Did fans turn
- 23:25Speaker 1: to you and give you credit the way I just
- 23:26Speaker 1: did for motivating McMahon.
- 23:28Speaker 3: I mean, how did that work?
- 23:30Speaker 7: No, So, once you've been heckling that entire time, the
- 23:32Speaker 7: second McMahon hits a home run, everybody kind of forgets
- 23:35Speaker 7: that you were heckling, and you can kind of just
- 23:37Speaker 7: celebrate like you were never heckling.
- 23:40Speaker 3: It's like a sweet spot. I love fans, man, I
- 23:43Speaker 3: really did.
- 23:43Speaker 7: It.
- 23:44Speaker 6: Seems like Taylor, you have a better feel for the
- 23:45Speaker 6: Mets vibes and you do the Yankees vibes. Yankees, you're
- 23:49Speaker 6: the McMahon. The Yankees are winning, they sweep the Royals.
- 23:51Speaker 6: McMahon's home run, I mean, yeah, you come on, you
- 23:53Speaker 6: got to get into them with your team here a
- 23:54Speaker 6: little bit more so.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, Well, how do you know the Mets so well?
- 23:58Speaker 1: I mean, no one would say that it's seven and
- 24:00Speaker 1: four when they're in first place eleven games into the season.
- 24:03Speaker 3: Bad vibes.
- 24:05Speaker 7: So with the Mets, you almost just expect the Mets
- 24:08Speaker 7: to fall short, to step on the rake right in
- 24:11Speaker 7: front of their face every time.
- 24:12Speaker 3: So that's easier to predict. With the Yankees.
- 24:15Speaker 7: I'm too emotionally attached in my expectations for them and
- 24:19Speaker 7: them consistently falling short of my expectations for them. So
- 24:24Speaker 7: I almost look at the Yankees like there's a black
- 24:26Speaker 7: cloud above them at all times.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Right, tell her you'll laugh at this. You know it's
- 24:30Speaker 1: texting with all weekend. New friend of mine, an old friend,
- 24:33Speaker 1: but a new friend about the Mets and their losing streak.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Roger McDowell.
- 24:40Speaker 4: I heard your interview with him.
- 24:42Speaker 6: I could not believe Taylor never heard of Roger McDowell.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Isn't that amazing?
- 24:47Speaker 6: I know, I know it says our age, but still McDowell.
- 24:50Speaker 6: I mean, come on, eighties. He was one of the
- 24:53Speaker 6: faces of that team with the personality.
- 24:55Speaker 1: So I think as Taylor started writing out notes for
- 24:58Speaker 1: Roger McDowell, he started realizing, Oh my god, this guy's
- 25:00Speaker 1: a badass.
- 25:01Speaker 2: He was a great major league pitcher.
- 25:03Speaker 7: He was Yeah, and if you would have went with
- 25:05Speaker 7: the name Jesse Rosco, I would have known him because
- 25:08Speaker 7: he had a couple of coffee with the Yankees in
- 25:10Speaker 7: two thousand.
- 25:11Speaker 6: Different McDowell was a long time pitching coach. It was
- 25:15Speaker 6: coach for the Braid. I mean it's like he was,
- 25:17Speaker 6: you know, absent from the game. Come on and Seinfeld everything.
- 25:22Speaker 1: McDowell had a little bit of a retire little right there.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Mikey had me texting with Andrew Marshall. That's a one
- 25:33Speaker 1: way text conversation.
- 25:34Speaker 3: My friend.
- 25:39Speaker 7: Stu.
- 25:39Speaker 3: Have you ever heard of the concept girl math?
- 25:42Speaker 2: No?
- 25:44Speaker 7: So, girl math is like a it's kind of like
- 25:47Speaker 7: a TikTok trend where women jokingly used like flawed subjective
- 25:52Speaker 7: logic to justify spending. So, for example, if my girlfriend
- 25:58Speaker 7: buys something for two hundred and she returns it and
- 26:01Speaker 7: gets that money back, she'll just spend it on something
- 26:05Speaker 7: else and be like I already spent it once, Like
- 26:07Speaker 7: I could just spend it again.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Girl, rather than save right, I've already listened. This is
- 26:11Speaker 1: money we already accounted for. It's out the window. That's it, right, Okay.
- 26:15Speaker 7: So it's kind of a justification or rationalization for bad
- 26:21Speaker 7: spending choices. I had that on Friday when I went
- 26:24Speaker 7: to the Yankee game and I shared it with sal.
- 26:27Speaker 7: I go in with one of my friends and he's
- 26:29Speaker 7: on he's on FanDuel and he's like, I'm gonna put
- 26:31Speaker 7: a bet in. Normally I don't really bet, so I
- 26:33Speaker 7: don't put a ton of things in. I put in
- 26:37Speaker 7: a a like one hundred dollars bet. It was the
- 26:42Speaker 7: Yankees to win by minus one and a half and
- 26:45Speaker 7: Ben Rice to get a hit. Ben Rice hits a
- 26:48Speaker 7: home run in like the second inning, so I'm like, okay,
- 26:50Speaker 7: now I just need one and a half. Yes, So
- 26:53Speaker 7: the Yankees blow a two run lead, the game gets tied.
- 26:56Speaker 7: Ryan McMahon then hits that two run home run for
- 26:59Speaker 7: the Yankees to win by two. At that point, I
- 27:02Speaker 7: was like, oh, that this money is lost. Like there's
- 27:06Speaker 7: no point of even considering what I would do with
- 27:09Speaker 7: the winnings. So once I won the bet and I
- 27:12Speaker 7: hit this like plus one eighty five bet, I'm like, man,
- 27:15Speaker 7: I came into some cash I probably shouldn't have.
- 27:17Speaker 3: Let's go to the team store. Austin Wells, bibblehead.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Really, you're such a nerd dude, I mean, double it down.
- 27:28Speaker 4: He was texting me the bet.
- 27:29Speaker 6: I'm like, wow, that's a great hit, dramatic McMahon, unlikely
- 27:33Speaker 6: a two.
- 27:33Speaker 4: Run homer to give you the win minus one and
- 27:36Speaker 4: a half. And he's like, look what I got with it,
- 27:38Speaker 4: and it's this thing.
- 27:42Speaker 6: Bobblehead, not even Judge bet Rice himself, Austin Wells.
- 27:48Speaker 2: I mean, I want to roll that into a three
- 27:49Speaker 2: team parlay. What are you doing?
- 27:51Speaker 5: Man, Dominican Republican z own Austin Wells.
- 27:55Speaker 7: The only thing that could have made the bibblehead better
- 27:57Speaker 7: is if Austin Wells was in a World Baseball Classic
- 28:00Speaker 7: Dominican Republic, Jersey. There was Aaron Judge Bobbleheads, but there
- 28:04Speaker 7: were too many people buying it. So I wanted to
- 28:06Speaker 7: do the road less traveled. I would have got ben Rice.
- 28:09Speaker 2: If they had wait a second.
- 28:10Speaker 1: So sal the guy he was calling a bum is
- 28:12Speaker 1: the guy not only did he hit a home running
- 28:14Speaker 1: one of my bets.
- 28:15Speaker 4: I mean, it's yeah, it's exactly right.
- 28:19Speaker 6: McMahon won you money. He should be your favorite. You
- 28:21Speaker 6: should have asked if they had a McMahon bobblehead.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Or yes, he should be your favorite Yankee for life.
- 28:25Speaker 2: He should be. He won you a bet, he won
- 28:26Speaker 2: you a parlay. Dude.
- 28:28Speaker 7: I mean I almost did have the mindset that you
- 28:32Speaker 7: would have had tote where if you won like whatever,
- 28:35Speaker 7: it was like one hundred and ninety five dollars. I
- 28:36Speaker 7: was like, man, you want to gamble responsibly, but there's
- 28:41Speaker 7: a chance for me to bet right now and turn
- 28:43Speaker 7: this into a Knicks ticket for tomorrow, and I just
- 28:46Speaker 7: wound up just buying a Nick ticket.
- 28:47Speaker 6: Anyways, you could have got a better set if you
- 28:51Speaker 6: didn't get that bobblehead and he.
- 28:52Speaker 1: Could wit a second, you could have just purchased a
- 28:55Speaker 1: Knicks ticket.
- 28:56Speaker 2: There was no need to waste money on Austin Wells's bibble.
- 29:01Speaker 7: No, that bet could not have covered the Knicks stickt Unfortunately,
- 29:05Speaker 7: the Chiefs stick it to get in.
- 29:06Speaker 3: Yet thee yeah took out alone.
- 29:09Speaker 1: So Karl Anthony Towns was great in game one. So
- 29:12Speaker 1: I'm guessing what Nick fans want to see. I know
- 29:14Speaker 1: I want to see it is you want to see
- 29:15Speaker 1: that kind of effort, that kind of stat line every
- 29:17Speaker 1: single night in the playoffs.
- 29:18Speaker 6: Yeah, and it wasn't just him, obviously, he had a
- 29:21Speaker 6: huge impact on the game when needed. It was Jayleen
- 29:23Speaker 6: Brunton to get things started. But look at it, the
- 29:25Speaker 6: Nick shot basically fifty percent. Everybody was doing exactly what
- 29:29Speaker 6: they need to do. Bridges, the bench did their job.
- 29:32Speaker 6: But it's Game one against the Hawks team who was inferior.
- 29:35Speaker 6: That's what you should be doing in a first round
- 29:38Speaker 6: series in game one, That's what a championship team does.
- 29:41Speaker 6: The question I would have is is it sustainable. I've
- 29:45Speaker 6: seen this team too many times to where game two
- 29:46Speaker 6: now everybody's expecting the Knicks to roll through the Hawks.
- 29:49Speaker 6: Anybody who thought the Hawks were a trouble spot going
- 29:52Speaker 6: in now they're like, oh, you know what, I was wrong.
- 29:53Speaker 6: The Knicks are gonna roll Like Taylor was saying, Nicks
- 29:56Speaker 6: are gonna breathe through the series. Now all of a
- 29:57Speaker 6: sudden Game two, maybe they stubbed their toe and you
- 29:59Speaker 6: have a danger series. So I need to see them
- 30:01Speaker 6: do it consistently. It was a perfect effort, in your
- 30:04Speaker 6: perfect effort in game one. I have hesitation that they
- 30:06Speaker 6: could do that again and again and again, which is
- 30:08Speaker 6: what they're gonna need to do to win the championship.
- 30:10Speaker 1: But the hesitation is whether Karl Anthony Towns could do
- 30:13Speaker 1: that again and again and again and again. Brunson needs
- 30:16Speaker 1: to be a little bit better percentage wise, but Karl
- 30:18Speaker 1: Anthony Towns needs to give you something close to that
- 30:20Speaker 1: every night.
- 30:21Speaker 6: I think, yes, we know what Brunson is and maybe
- 30:23Speaker 6: you could say, you know what most of the other
- 30:25Speaker 6: pieces are. Can Karl Anthony Towns keep up that level
- 30:29Speaker 6: of play?
- 30:29Speaker 4: I mean, Towns at his best did do that.
- 30:32Speaker 6: He did that for years in Minnesota for whatever, and
- 30:34Speaker 6: him and Brunson weren't working until recently they started to
- 30:39Speaker 6: gel together the two man game between them. So if
- 30:41Speaker 6: they could keep that up, that could be the difference
- 30:43Speaker 6: of them maybe getting too.
- 30:44Speaker 4: An Eastern Conference final, a NBA finals through the Eastern Conference.
- 30:47Speaker 2: It's the eight rebounds, the three blocks.
- 30:49Speaker 1: Just being a presence, That's it, right, just being a
- 30:51Speaker 1: presence and inside presence.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Correct.
- 30:54Speaker 7: Yeah, And the frustration with Karl Anthony Towns comes from
- 30:58Speaker 7: the moments where you see him at that and one
- 31:01Speaker 7: uh where he has that great drive to the basket.
- 31:03Speaker 7: It's like, man, the way he plays when he's physical,
- 31:06Speaker 7: it feels like something he could do on a on
- 31:10Speaker 7: a pretty consistent basis. You just don't really get that
- 31:12Speaker 7: consistency from Cat.
- 31:14Speaker 4: My favorite thing though with him is his ability to shoot.
- 31:16Speaker 6: When he's knocking down those shots that that to me
- 31:19Speaker 6: is his elite skill. Has a big to be able
- 31:22Speaker 6: to shoot that well when he's in the lane. Now
- 31:24Speaker 6: he could play a two way game, of course, but
- 31:26Speaker 6: when he any better, he's got to get better defensively.
- 31:28Speaker 6: And even Brown said like he could be better defensively
- 31:30Speaker 6: when he wants to, but that's not often enough.
- 31:33Speaker 4: But at times he's out.
- 31:35Speaker 6: Of control, he gets frustrated and he's like a running
- 31:38Speaker 6: back with the ball in the paint, off defensive foul.
- 31:41Speaker 6: That stuff needs to get cleaned up from him. I
- 31:43Speaker 6: can't that that drives me. Nutch, the Giants, anyone with
- 31:47Speaker 6: the Knicks.
- 31:48Speaker 3: I love the visual of a running back in the paints.
- 31:50Speaker 2: It's funny, bruising running back over the place.
- 31:56Speaker 4: Yeah right, yes, he if he cleans that up.
- 31:59Speaker 6: I don't think think the Knick's gonna beat the all
- 32:01Speaker 6: I still don't. It's gonna be tough for them to
- 32:03Speaker 6: beat the Celtics. That will be one hell of a series,
- 32:05Speaker 6: but I think that's gonna be And if they do
- 32:06Speaker 6: beat the Celtics, I would assume that they're going to
- 32:08Speaker 6: get to the to the NBA.
- 32:09Speaker 2: Finals because the Pistons are done. Is that what you're saying.
- 32:12Speaker 6: It's not that they're done, but the fact that they
- 32:14Speaker 6: would lose Game one of the Magic and before that,
- 32:18Speaker 6: I still felt like the Celtics would be the biggest threat.
- 32:20Speaker 6: I was never really worried that worried about the Pistons,
- 32:23Speaker 6: even with them owning the Knicks, and the regular season
- 32:25Speaker 6: still seems like a year early for them, right this
- 32:27Speaker 6: is they had a great regular season, but still a
- 32:29Speaker 6: young team and the playoffs can they handle now the
- 32:32Speaker 6: expectations of the one seed so and that combined with
- 32:35Speaker 6: the fact that they lost Game one, I would I.
- 32:37Speaker 4: Would like my chances from a Knicks perspective.
- 32:40Speaker 7: If NBA playoff series were just one game, the Orlando
- 32:44Speaker 7: Magic would be the best dynasty in the NBA.
- 32:47Speaker 2: They do it every year.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Yeah, they the illusion that they're gonna win a series
- 32:51Speaker 1: that they're not gonna win, yes, and then lose four
- 32:54Speaker 1: straight the Magic. Yes, the tailor's right. No one leads
- 33:03Speaker 1: the league in Game one. If you were to ranked
- 33:07Speaker 1: the teams after Game one of the NBA Playoffs, you
- 33:11Speaker 1: would have the Magic number one right now, you would.
- 33:14Speaker 3: I mean they went on the road. That was the
- 33:15Speaker 3: biggest win. Is the only series that started
