- 7:21[SPEAKER_09]: I don't know The Houston interesting thing you just can't break breaking news the census bureau the bureau of the census
- 7:30[SPEAKER_09]: Population estimates for communities, and you know, this doesn't they do it on statistical models and everything, but the city of water town continues to decline in population and is now reclipsed by the town of Lirae Lirae has 24,259 the city 23,517 oh my goodness you know, with that trend
- 7:59[SPEAKER_09]: and talents are basically minimalist for my government.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_09]: I don't think they have managers aren't they have a supervisor?
- 8:07[SPEAKER_09]: You know, probably makes 50 a year and that's it running the whole town.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_09]: And can we afford all of the layers of management?
- 8:15[SPEAKER_09]: Manage of city managers?
- 8:16[SPEAKER_09]: Deputy managers?
- 8:18[SPEAKER_09]: Police chiefs, captains, fire chiefs, deputy fire chiefs.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_09]: All
- 8:29[SPEAKER_09]: you tell me.
- 8:31[SPEAKER_09]: Last night, there was a city council work session to address the budget.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_09]: And I'll tell you something.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_09]: You remember the other day you read that they had caught it to 8% tax increase and the tax cap would put it at 3.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_09]: They could just go with the
- 8:57[SPEAKER_09]: to manage and keep an eye on, you know, as positions vacate, leaving vacant by the end of the year everything, the difference between three and eight percent's not that much.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_09]: And we get too caught up in this.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_09]: Well, if we delete this filing cabinet, what did I do to the tax rate Mr. Mills?
- 9:16[SPEAKER_09]: Nothing.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_09]: Because if that file cabinet was not budgeted for, but they needed a file cabinet, they'd buy it anyway, because that's what you're doing business.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_09]: A budget's just
- 9:26[SPEAKER_09]: best estimate of a spending plan.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_09]: That's all it is.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_09]: They were talking last night about the the the golf course.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_09]: There was a 21,000 should we put this 21,000, you know, seasonal closing fee in there.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_09]: That's part of the cost of doing business.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_09]: It's like me if I, you know, when it gets to be fall, I buy a couple of bags of rock salt and make sure the snowmobile
- 9:54[SPEAKER_09]: That's what you do.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_09]: It's part of being him.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_09]: Oh my god.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_09]: I can't believe it.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_09]: Well, we'll leave it in and just in case.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_09]: Oh my god.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_09]: I was listening to her last name.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_09]: I had wanted to explode.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_09]: And then the big, there was news last night that wasn't reported.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_09]: I'm going to take this call.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_09]: Then we're going to give you that news.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_09]: But after noon, you're on the air.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_14]: Do you know how there's like a pattern of like gypsies, tarot card readers like stealing money from people?
- 10:30[SPEAKER_09]: There wasn't a word written out.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_14]: Well, it's kind of like a thing that people know about.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_09]: Mm-hmm.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_14]: Oh my god.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_14]: Hey, get their victims and they get them hypnotized and they...
- 10:42[SPEAKER_10]: Okay.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_14]: They'll go get them out of their money.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_14]: Okay.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_14]: Right.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_14]: So, well, we have a gypsy at the zoo who's in charge of the funding.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_09]: Mm-hmm.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_09]: I don't know what you're talking about because it's a private corporation you have no right to see them now they have no right to expect that the public's gonna give them money But you have no right to see their bank statements or anything else.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_09]: It's a private corporation.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_14]: It's conservancy Okay, well, here's another anomaly The same person poses with multi-million dollar jewelry if it's real
- 11:28[SPEAKER_17]: Right.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_14]: What is it?
- 11:30[SPEAKER_09]: I don't know.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_14]: Some jewelry?
- 11:31[SPEAKER_14]: Then okay.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_14]: It's cost some jewelry.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_09]: Well, I think, I don't think that's a big issue.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_09]: I just think, you know, last, another thing that Council was carrying on about last time.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_09]: Well, why don't we let them rent out that residence up there so they can get some more money?
- 11:46[SPEAKER_09]: No!
- 11:48[SPEAKER_09]: That's a city asset, quick, give it away, my assets.
- 11:51[SPEAKER_09]: Jesus.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_14]: So I'm more going on up there, that's what I'm saying.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_09]: I don't think it's corrupt, I don't think it's that.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_09]: You know, there's no counter, if it's a public facility, it's a public facility.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_14]: You can still have a, as hard as you don't want to look at what's going on, there's definitely an investment going on through the city, whether it's at the zoo or in different spots, it definitely going on.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_14]: You think what are you telling the descent to all the fraud that's going around across the old country?
- 12:27[SPEAKER_09]: Well, no, but I don't, you know, you can't just, yeah, but you can't just say it, listen.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_17]: I'm not exact.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_09]: That may be, but you can't just say that.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_09]: You can't just say that.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_09]: Over.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_17]: Can't because it's all these non-for-profits.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_17]: Hmm?
- 12:41[UNKNOWN]: That's what they're doing.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_09]: These non-for-profits are filled with fraud.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_14]: Right.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_14]: Just a case that was just talked about up there, wasn't there?
- 12:49[SPEAKER_09]: Hmm.
- 12:51[SPEAKER_09]: No, I agree with that.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_09]: I agree with it.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_09]: But let me get it.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_09]: I'll get back to my point.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_09]: All right.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_09]: You.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_09]: Thank you.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_09]: Okay.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_09]: Thank you.
- 12:57[SPEAKER_09]: What happened last night?
- 12:58[SPEAKER_09]: This was interesting because it's an anomaly.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_09]: That means it's out of the ordinary for a city council meeting.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_09]: So, as I never saw it happened before.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_09]: Remember when I said I never saw a situation in which the administration sandbag, the council and glory to me to a back room in the room for the
- 13:22[SPEAKER_09]: About 15 minutes into the meeting, there was nothing big going on.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_09]: And all of a sudden, the mayor crawled for an executive session.
- 13:31[SPEAKER_09]: And Councilman, Dr. Kimball, beautifully made the motion for an executive session to deal with a bunch of people he said.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_09]: It's not the way it's usually phrased.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_09]: Usually, it's to discuss the employment history of particular individual.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_09]: You know, he's new to it.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_09]: So we'll let him go.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_09]: And then they all, of course, due to flea, approved it.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_09]: And they all got up and waited in the back room.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_09]: Well, normally the city manager is part of that meeting, right?
- 14:05[SPEAKER_09]: And if there were other people I wanted to invite, they could.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_09]: But I've never seen an instance where the city manager wasn't part of that meeting with the exception of the annual appraisal of duties, which is not this time of year.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_09]: So he didn't go in, he threw his arms up in the air like he didn't know what was going on.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_09]: And he went in there, a good couple of hours.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_09]: And they finally came out, finished the, you know, this and that and hours for the pool and other issues.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_09]: And then I heard him, they said, well, the doc said, well, on Monday, we'll let you know what we were doing back there, something like that.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_09]: It's, it sounds to me like they're identifying positions to abolish.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_09]: Uh-huh, I don't, I don't know what's going to happen there, but I've never seen a situation in which the city manager was excluded from executive session of this nature.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_09]: Never seen it before, that makes it unusual.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_09]: What's the definition of news?
- 15:10[SPEAKER_09]: Things that are unusual, right?
- 15:13[SPEAKER_09]: So, and I happen to catch, I was just trying to follow it on line.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_09]: It wasn't easy.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_09]: I know for the media.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_09]: It's not easy because it's just not easy.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_09]: So, I don't know.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_09]: Whatever you think.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_09]: But after noon you're on the air.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_09]: Hello.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_15]: Hello Mr. Mayor.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, go ahead.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_15]: Okay.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_15]: I just got to have three bailouts for the school district.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_15]: How do I get the name right and make sure it's this level?
- 15:47[SPEAKER_09]: Well, you can just put Millie Smith, I think, of the adequate.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_15]: Millie Smith.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_15]: That little thing you think of, you know, are you going to put Millie Smith if you want?
- 16:00[SPEAKER_09]: I don't really know what her name is.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_15]: Okay, uh, I put Millie.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_15]: I thought they were going to pick you up and get the name just right.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_09]: They're just the general legend.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_09]: But I agree, go ahead and write it in.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_15]: I'm just making this statement.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_15]: I didn't think she'd go to win.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_09]: And then it's yes or no on the budget, right?
- 16:22[SPEAKER_15]: Yeah, I think I'll go yes on that.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_09]: Really?
- 16:26[SPEAKER_15]: Yeah.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_09]: Do you want to have that?
- 16:27[SPEAKER_09]: Do you want to have multiple layers of principles?
- 16:32[SPEAKER_14]: Oh, no.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_09]: Do you want to have, you want to have you condenialis for the school superintendent?
- 16:37[SPEAKER_09]: No, of course you don't.
- 16:39[SPEAKER_15]: Oh, no.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_15]: Come on.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_15]: No.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_15]: You can turn down the budget to vote for their use as a contingency budget that might be higher than the original budget.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_09]: Well, listen.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_09]: Talking about a system being rigged, that system is rigged.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_09]: So don't worry about the kids going without books and not being able to get their transgender counseling or whatever they get.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_09]: Just go now.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_15]: Yeah.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_09]: And the proposition too, I'm going to vote too, next Tuesday, but it doesn't matter.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_09]: Um, you know, imagine if that budget were defeated, it's not going to affect any spending and the teachers will be fine, the collective bargaining agreements will be honored.
- 17:46[SPEAKER_09]: You know, they'll meet the heating requirements that schools now have, so nobody's cold in the winter.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_09]: Don't worry about it.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_09]: Don't worry about it.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_09]: Okay.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_09]: in which the city manager was not part of the executive session.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_09]: And I talked to a former counsel person this morning just to ask her and she thought it was strange too.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_10]: I don't know.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_09]: And how many people are they going to cut, I mean the amount of money they have to, I will
- 18:31[SPEAKER_09]: The difference between 8% and 3% is $600,000.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_09]: You could absorb that through the year, because in every year you budget this amount, you don't use that much bump, and that's how you build up your fun balance.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_09]: That's where fund balance comes from.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_09]: You budgeted 14.2 million for the police department.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_09]: It came in at 14.05 million.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_09]: So 150 accrues to fund balance.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_09]: Now obviously if you had some kind of extraordinary event, we're going to worry about that.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_09]: But I don't know.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_09]: We've got a text coming in from Portland.
- 19:19[SPEAKER_09]: Here's a who?
- 19:25[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, yeah, she's sending us something about something called true North.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_09]: I don't know what that is.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_09]: They're having a launch party, May 28th, write it down, play in parenthood on in paddock street.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_09]: It's a community-based support group for transgender, gender, non-conforming, and non-binary individuals.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_09]: Okay.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_09]: Well, I guess, you know, I don't know if I know any non-binary people, but maybe I do.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_09]: Maybe I do.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_09]: Alrighty, 755, 1240, phone number, if you'd like to be on the air.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_09]: Well, let's see.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_09]: City Council held those little listening sessions over at the library, one on one,
- 20:25[SPEAKER_09]: My understanding is, from talking to some media people, is that they were upset over all of the comments, they got from people about the department that's not living in the city.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_09]: Not that they should have been surprised.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_09]: And they were upset.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_09]: And they are upset over apparently the, even after they decided to keep the trash service, there was some trashing of it by staff.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_09]: And the rumor around town is that the reason they want to get rid of the trash service or staff does is some association with one of the private haulers, pick and go, I don't know if that's true, but I heard that.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_09]: Well, that shouldn't be the reason for doing anything.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_09]: And I don't know what's going on, but it's hard to get a hold of the council people.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_09]: It's talking to a couple former council members this morning, but current ones and I'm sad I'm really I'm very sad that the mayor doesn't like me anymore I thought we had something going on there.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_09]: I voted for I donated to her campaign.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_09]: I was you know I thought we were really Whatever, but she doesn't like me anymore.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_09]: I won't come on to show so well
- 21:57[SPEAKER_09]: Well, here's a who says that that thing about the gender, non-binary thing was on this school district face, Facebook page.
- 22:06[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, well, that's the committed to that.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_09]: That's their culture.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_09]: That's what you're buying into.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_09]: That's what you get with it.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_09]: You know, those are the people who have whatever over your children.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_09]: Good afternoon, you're on the air.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_13]: this kind of story how mayor what I'm buying error what does not I'm buying I'll never meet anybody know I have no idea yeah another thing if the city manager lived in the city they might have a lot of come in that closed or meeting you know what I mean there hmm that could be an issue with the council also the man lives outside watercolors well yeah but they all supported that they all said it's fine with them yeah but he he works for the council
- 22:59[SPEAKER_09]: I thought so.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_13]: The geese posts to work for the council on the zoo, we're looking at one point one million a year of the fund of the zoo, did you see that other co-manor?
- 23:11[SPEAKER_09]: Mm-hmm.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, I saw it.
- 23:12[SPEAKER_13]: They got a lot more people coming in, 800 up to 800 people have joined the zoo, a couple hundred thousand a month with people sitting at money to the zoo, but we can't find out what they got in the reserve fund.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_13]: And we can't look at the books of the zoo mayor.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_09]: not.
- 23:31[UNKNOWN]: What do you mean?
- 23:31[UNKNOWN]: You were on you were mayor for 20 years.
- 23:33[UNKNOWN]: You're telling me, in 20 years you never looked at the books at the zoo.
- 23:38[SPEAKER_13]: They were never honored at the zoo.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_09]: Nope, it was a pride.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_09]: Did any else the property of the zoo?
- 23:44[SPEAKER_09]: I know, I agree with you now.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_09]: I look back at it and say I should have been more assertive, but it is a private corporation.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_09]: You can't just go in and say I want to look at those books.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_09]: That's city property there on mayor.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_09]: I believe so.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_11]: They want us to do the maintenance of the buildings, they want us to do it for nothing.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_11]: They want city employees to come in and do some work.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_11]: One point one million, that's a lot of money.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_09]: I agree.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_11]: You tell me, Mayor, we can't honor the zoo books.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_11]: Is that what you're telling the people here?
- 24:22[SPEAKER_09]: I'm telling you, you have no legal right to do it.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_09]: If they want to provide it, you can.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_09]: All right, they do, or we do.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_11]: Yes, I can't understand it.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_09]: Well, you've got no more right.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_09]: Just a minute, they're asking for money from the city mayor.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_11]: We don't have a right to know where the hell that money is going.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_11]: Well, then what is Mr. Nixon involved in this soon, so deep?
- 24:55[SPEAKER_09]: I don't know.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_11]: He's a city manager at one time.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_11]: mm-hmm a more point one million.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_11]: I don't know People want to so I could live with it.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_09]: Mm-hmm.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_11]: You know what I mean?
- 25:12[SPEAKER_09]: I got you.

- 25:39[SPEAKER_11]: We need to please force, we got homeless people taking over the city.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_11]: You cannot cut the police budget.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_11]: Get them to hell off the street.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_11]: You can't have a dead city.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_11]: I'm fat free street.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_11]: This is not California.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_11]: They made a statement door from this county.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_11]: No, they're not Mr. Beseed.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_11]: they're not from Jefferson County.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_11]: I don't believe it.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_11]: Mm-hmm.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_11]: I told you I talked to two people on my street.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_11]: The man is not from here.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_11]: I said, when you do for an island construction, I said, why don't you work and then?
- 26:16[SPEAKER_11]: It's up Monday morning.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_11]: Anybody that doesn't work, they're in construction.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_11]: He's working for money on my property.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_09]: I know, it's crazy, isn't it?
- 26:31[SPEAKER_11]: because we're handling them every day.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_11]: They don't want to work people.
- 26:36[SPEAKER_11]: They're on heavy medication.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_11]: You've got to prison some state free giving away clean needles.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_11]: How a hell is that going to solve any problems?
- 26:46[SPEAKER_11]: You're going to call him and tell me that.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_11]: You'll give drug addicts, clean needles.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_11]: You find needles all over the game.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_11]: Great.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_11]: I see them there.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_09]: I know it is upsetting.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_11]: Hmm, you're right about a pound.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_11]: That's the way it was done years ago.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_11]: Yeah, you can't have 10 cities in one at a time.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, well, you know, I drove, I drove by that new apartment building on Maine Avenue.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_11]: You want to toss my heart?
- 27:21[SPEAKER_09]: It is beautiful.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_09]: There's only like three or four cars there.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_11]: That's because nobody has a car, right?
- 27:34[SPEAKER_11]: mentally, you're not there.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_11]: We can do it, York City.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_11]: You've got people being pushed down the stairwell at a stop way.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_11]: The guy's been arrested ten times in the street.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_11]: Got a demonstration on the house.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_11]: That's the problem.
- 27:51[SPEAKER_11]: You got no place to put him.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_11]: Mm-hmm.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_11]: We're on the street.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_11]: He pushes us to return.

- 29:44[SPEAKER_09]: Oh my god, it's true.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_09]: It's so refreshing to hear those two points.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_09]: It says it like it is.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, now he asked about can you look at financial records it'd be like if you wanted to look at my tax returns at the bar I got it over.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_09]: I just got him back from the accountant and you if you want to look at him you can I don't care But you don't have any right to now So
- 30:13[SPEAKER_09]: And besides that, whenever I heard that over the years, and maybe I was not a sort of enough, but oh yeah, we review those up on the second floor.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_09]: Oh really?
- 30:23[SPEAKER_09]: Well, I've been in business 41 years, so a lot me review them because you've been in government 41 years.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, and, you know, a P&L statement as we found out with the, with the golf course thing with the council was bamboozle, I think bamboozle upon information and belief, I'm saying, it's upon information and belief, that means I can lie, but, um, no, I think they were bamboozled, and they didn't know what it meant to say, well, we make 100, no, you don't know what the parameters are.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_09]: as far as running it.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_09]: And they are capable.
- 31:00[SPEAKER_09]: Those people are not capable of judging this RFP they're talking about putting out.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_09]: Because there's a lot of analysis you'd have to do.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_09]: You're turning over a multi-million dollar asset to somebody for six dollars a year or whatever you're going to lease it for.
- 31:17[SPEAKER_09]: It's crazy.
- 31:19[SPEAKER_09]: Absolutely crazy.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_09]: Is anybody going to ask for sales tax
- 31:27[SPEAKER_09]: Who's your company disability with?
- 31:30[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, a lot of different questions.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_09]: Is everybody paid under the table or over the table?
- 31:37[SPEAKER_09]: Who's going to pay for the new moors when you need one?
- 31:40[SPEAKER_09]: You know, we found out that the city leases out of facility and then when somebody needs an ice machine to city bias it.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_09]: Who's going to do that?
- 31:49[SPEAKER_09]: And are these people with all due respect?
- 31:52[SPEAKER_09]: Capable of ascertaining those looking at a business.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_10]: Get four or five people and not me.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_10]: You don't have to go to me and I'm just a a gin mill owner on Pearl Street.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_09]: Get somebody owns a restaurant.
- 32:06[SPEAKER_09]: Get somebody who really does something.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_09]: Somebody who signs the front side of a paycheck my God.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_09]: Instead of, oh, we're going to put out an RFP.
- 32:17[SPEAKER_09]: Request for proposal.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_09]: And we're going to analyze it.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_09]: Good God.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_09]: Oh my god, now I'm as mad as the angry man, I'm as mad.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_09]: It's contagious.

- 36:52[SPEAKER_09]: Another thing that is being put out soon, and that's that request for proposals on the naming of the arena, the Fairgrounds Arena, the city-owned ice arena and the event center.
- 37:05[SPEAKER_09]: And, um,
- 37:07[SPEAKER_09]: into the paper reported they wanted minimum 10,000 year for five years or fifty thousand dollars put your name on it i wouldn't be putting out the price like that i before but that's another story and then you know these people call out suggesting all sorts of things like somebody calls for what's what's what's called the joe rich arena well i like joe rich but
- 37:35[SPEAKER_09]: Well, you know, let's say I've got to do with anything.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_09]: And why don't you call it, you could call it the Jefferson arena because we live in, did you know we live in Jefferson County?
- 37:49[SPEAKER_09]: And we got, I don't know, I don't know if the county legislator is no who Jefferson is, they probably think it's the one who's moving on up on the east side, but no, it was there our third president, Thomas Jefferson.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 38:03[UNKNOWN]: No.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_09]: But if you're trying to always get money out of them, why not name the arena after it, you know, Jefferson Arena.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, the new owned slaves, oh, scratch that.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_09]: Now, some of Campbell can't vote for it because Thomas Jefferson voted, own slaves, can't do that.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_09]: Um, what else are we going to going on there?
- 38:25[SPEAKER_09]: Um, yeah, I don't know what names are going to come.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_09]: I don't think that any.
- 38:30[SPEAKER_09]: I think it'll be too controversial.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_17]: Mm-hmm.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_09]: I was talking to somebody this morning who said all I know there's going to be a name That's fine, but you know any of us even if you know if you're a modest means or not Most people with any age or something could scratch together $50,000 So if I if you wanted to do that and Would they take it?
- 38:56[SPEAKER_09]: I mean if you gave him a clean 50 grand
- 39:00[SPEAKER_09]: You know, yeah, she was checked from water town savings bank.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_09]: So you know, it's good.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_09]: Lean 50 would they would they let you put whatever name you want on it.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_09]: If you want to put Trump's name on you want to put.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_09]: I don't know, Glenn Curry's name on it.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_09]: Who?
- 39:17[SPEAKER_09]: I don't know what the rules are.
- 39:20[SPEAKER_09]: I don't know what they're trying to accomplish.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_09]: I would think something of that nature you'd want to need.
- 39:25[SPEAKER_09]: If you're going to name it, you'd want to
- 39:27[SPEAKER_09]: a name that everybody could embrace.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_09]: That's why I said that Jefferson ever you know, because Jefferson was our third president and you know why it's called Jefferson County, huh?
- 39:39[SPEAKER_09]: Don't 175, you know, 1805.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_09]: Look on your flag.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_09]: Who was president?
- 39:44[SPEAKER_09]: 1805.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_09]: This is not a jeopardy question.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_09]: It was Thomas Jefferson.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_09]: So he was president at the time, the county was formed or whatever, and corporate, whatever they did back then.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_09]: That's, that's what you get when you pay attention.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_09]: I saw that flag, I said 1805, oh, who was president, oh, Trevor, oh my god.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_10]: So let's name it after him.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_09]: Somebody texted in, no card dealerships, well, they got the money, you can't.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_09]: Somebody checks in Mr. Hagman is on the board at the zoo too.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_09]: I think it's great if you've got.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_09]: I think it should be a city owned facility.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_09]: Totally.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_09]: But I do think it's good to have a private organization to help organize volunteer work and fundraising and so on.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_09]: And you certainly want to take their input on things.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_09]: But in terms of, we're looking at, who's gonna run all this stuff for a long time?
- 40:53[SPEAKER_09]: There's a look at perpetuity.
- 40:55[SPEAKER_09]: That means a long time.

- 51:29[SPEAKER_28]: In every community, there are businesses that feel familiar.
- 51:33[SPEAKER_28]: The ones you recognize, the ones you trust, the ones they're to support you, connection doesn't happen by accident.
- 51:41[SPEAKER_28]: It happens when you stay present, when your message arrives with intention, when it reminds people you're right here.
- 51:48[SPEAKER_28]: Mail keeps local businesses visible, its strengthens relationships, it builds opportunity, one household at a time.
- 51:56[SPEAKER_28]: At Kaufflin, we help businesses in our community create mailing strategies that support growth and strengthen connection.
- 52:04[SPEAKER_28]: Because when your neighbor knows you, they choose you.
- 52:07[SPEAKER_28]: Let's keep your message moving.

- 52:15[SPEAKER_28]: That's 315-788-8560.
- 52:22[SPEAKER_28]: Coffland.
- 52:24[SPEAKER_08]: Mail that inspires connection.
- 52:34[SPEAKER_08]: The North Country spells news AM-1240.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_20]: Water tab, depend on it.
- 53:06[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah, I don't even know what I was saying before about it.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_09]: And it really wasn't meant to be personal.
- 53:10[SPEAKER_09]: But the decisions on like leasing out things or naming things should, if that's even a good idea, should be based on the city's best interest and not personalities or anything like that.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_09]: So somebody just texted in.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_09]: The effects are a prayer or civic center for a name.
- 53:28[SPEAKER_09]: Well, it's too long a name, first of all, Bob.
- 53:33[SPEAKER_09]: FX Arena would be a good name and the brilliance the genius of FX Capriera was you know he developed that brand with that logo and you call it FX you know his name was FX right Francis Xavier and that's the whole marketing thing now i know johnny spazano tries to take credit for it again that just isn't the case it was FX Capriera and it was brilliant so they got a real they got a logo and they got a name
- 54:03[SPEAKER_09]: whether you want to give it to one car dealership and now that's another that's a political discussion here but um yeah that'd be a you know fine name hmm but I you know can't at least a city resident I think I'd want to see them come up with more than what they're asking that's all the city wants it's not up to me somebody said how about the Coca-Cola arena well you could do that too they got a lot of nice logo material and all of that I don't know if it's lander would
- 54:33[SPEAKER_09]: but that's a possibility.
- 54:36[SPEAKER_09]: Another person texted in, well, the town of Lorraine Numbers having more population than the city right now.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_09]: What's the city in jeopardy of dissolution?
- 54:46[SPEAKER_09]: No.
- 54:48[SPEAKER_09]: There's advantages to being a city under state law.
- 54:50[SPEAKER_09]: There's only 62 of them.
- 54:52[SPEAKER_09]: And they range in size of little falls.
- 54:56[SPEAKER_09]: It's like 45,000 people to obviously New York City 8.8 million.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_09]: And there are, you know, cities on Long Island that are far smaller in population than some of the townships.
- 55:07[SPEAKER_09]: It's just the way things worked out over time, like Glenn Cove on Long Island, as far fewer than the town of Iceland.
- 55:15[SPEAKER_09]: So, no, it doesn't.
- 55:18[SPEAKER_09]: Whether or not the city can afford all the luxuries we have now of people and this and that, I don't know.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_09]: I don't know.
- 55:28[SPEAKER_09]: uh... or whether it could be run more in the uh... framework of what a town is run and he had twenty two towns in the county and you know they all have town supervisors and some of them make or five thousand years some of them make probably fifty sixty yeah but everything gets done apparently what i can see uh... seven five five twelve forty a phone number if it like to give us a call
- 55:55[SPEAKER_09]: uh... to be on the area we've got a lot of time left with those and topics uh... that we got grounded up there but you know there's things in the news and things being debated but news media i know what happened last night and why the city manager was excluded from an executive session and i'm not saying that is any disparaging against mr. Wagner has nothing to do with uh... everybody thinks what you pick it up i'm not picking on you
- 56:26[SPEAKER_09]: But I've never seen it happen before in a meeting, never.
- 56:30[SPEAKER_09]: Only in the instance of when they're reviewing a managers performance every year, if they do that every two years, if we're not on that point in history right now.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_09]: So I've never seen that happen before, and again, things that you've never seen happen before, that's the very definition of what, any W.S.
- 56:47[SPEAKER_09]: news.
- 56:49[SPEAKER_09]: So, um, I don't know who covered the council meeting last night.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_09]: Um, Where's John more?
- 56:56[SPEAKER_09]: We need John more back.
- 56:58[SPEAKER_09]: I know he does things from St. Lawrence County, but God.
- 57:01[SPEAKER_09]: We need him back.
- 57:03[SPEAKER_09]: Let's see.
- 57:07[SPEAKER_09]: Um, Somebody else texted us.
- 57:16[SPEAKER_09]: Hey, Mayor, how about the bank that never left home arena?
- 57:20[SPEAKER_09]: I don't get the joke.
- 57:23[SPEAKER_09]: Is that a joke?
- 57:26[SPEAKER_09]: Hmm?
- 57:27[SPEAKER_09]: I don't know.
- 57:30[SPEAKER_09]: Hmm, let's see.
- 57:33[SPEAKER_09]: Why, you know, I was gonna tell the story.
- 57:36[SPEAKER_09]: I know this couple in town, or, you know, it comes from a really good family.
- 57:40[SPEAKER_09]: And they were telling me about how they went to Syracuse other day for a couple's massage and they had to take it.
- 57:47[SPEAKER_09]: It was an Asian thing, but it was no happy endings or me love your long times.
- 57:51[SPEAKER_09]: I'm not saying that.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_09]: I'm just saying that a couple's massage is not that take all your clothes off and everything.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 57:59[SPEAKER_09]: I thought it was like, oh, that's a little risky.
- 58:02[SPEAKER_09]: uh... just i would just stick with your folks on arsenal street they do a good job the nice people above board all of that stuff don't be going to sariqs for no couples massage yeah but after noon you're on the air up nobody there am i being a little prerogio
- 58:29[SPEAKER_09]: I'll have to ask around the office here.
- 58:31[SPEAKER_09]: See if anybody else goes to Syracuse for a couple's massage.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.
- 58:38[SPEAKER_09]: Usually if you're going somewhere with a massage or a massage, you certainly don't want to bring your wife or girlfriend.
- 58:45[SPEAKER_09]: But, maybe it's a different world we live in.
- 58:47[SPEAKER_09]: You know, when people get married now, there's no bachelor parties, there's no stag parties, it's all jacking, jill parties now.
- 58:56[SPEAKER_09]: You know, it's the suffocation of American managers continues, but now you have to have, you can't just go to a massage party, like Bob Crafted, you've got a, you kind of go have a couple of massage, isn't that nice?
- 59:11[SPEAKER_09]: All right, well, whatever, that'll get them going.
- 59:15[SPEAKER_09]: I don't get him going the haters.
- 59:18[SPEAKER_09]: They're out there.
- 59:20[SPEAKER_09]: Um, what else we got going on today?
- 59:22[SPEAKER_09]: Uh, that's about it.
- 59:24[SPEAKER_09]: You know Glenn Curry's going to be here at five o'clock.
- 59:26[SPEAKER_09]: I think Millie, Millie now says she's coming tomorrow.
- 59:29[SPEAKER_09]: You know Millie.
- 59:31[SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.

- 59:34[SPEAKER_09]: Somebody will get the flu tomorrow.
- 59:35[SPEAKER_09]: Oh, yeah, come in.
- 59:36[SPEAKER_09]: I can't come in.
- 59:37[SPEAKER_09]: But um, well, we hope she does.
- 59:40[SPEAKER_09]: It'll be entertaining.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_09]: That's for sure.
- 59:45[SPEAKER_09]: Glenn Curry will be in at five o'clock today now, so make sure to tune it into that and I'll be back tomorrow at noon hopefully with Milley right here a new community broadcast station a I'm 1240 WAT and water town New York
