- 0:04Don Armstrong: It's 10 to noon, usually, every Saturday, for our live show about all things automotive, and we thank you for being with us today.
- 0:11Don Armstrong: I'm gonna have to change things around a little bit.
- 0:13Jeff Dziekan: It's up to you.
- 0:14Don Armstrong: No, I know I want to do it because I teased it and I want to talk about it.
- 0:17Jeff Dziekan: Okay.
- 0:18Don Armstrong: The seven best gas station hot dogs in America.
- 0:20Don Armstrong: Have you got that?
- 0:21Jeff Dziekan: I got it.
- 0:22Jeff Dziekan: Hot dog.
- 0:23Jeff Dziekan: Yeah, here we go.
- 0:24Don Armstrong: Oh, don't make fun.
- 0:25Don Armstrong: You know you like them.
- 0:26Jeff Dziekan: Yeah.
- 0:28Jeff Dziekan: All right.
- 0:28Jeff Dziekan: So what we got the shiny, juicy skin, warm buns on the counter, and all the.
- 0:36Jeff Dziekan: Wait a minute.
- 0:36Don Armstrong: We're not talking about the beach now.
- 0:38Jeff Dziekan: No, all and all the toppings to choose from at a low price.
- 0:41Jeff Dziekan: We don't like toppings.
- 0:42Jeff Dziekan: Of course, some gas convenience chains.
- 0:45Jeff Dziekan: Dog stands ahead and shoulders above the rest.
- 0:49Jeff Dziekan: So here we go.
- 0:50Jeff Dziekan: Number one, Michael.
- 0:52Jeff Dziekan: Pilot flying J.
- 0:55Jeff Dziekan: You've probably seen this gas station and truck stops while making summer road trips across the country.
- 0:59Jeff Dziekan: They make that look that's a little bit.
- 1:01Jeff Dziekan: Is based in Knoxville and operates truck stops across the country, making this dog about as accessible as it gets.
- 1:08Jeff Dziekan: When you'll find a pilot flying J, you got big juicy dogs on a roller grill along with fresh, cold toppings ranging from what?
- 1:17Jeff Dziekan: Sauerkraut, slice, jalapeno, banana peppers.
- 1:22Jeff Dziekan: We'll move on.
- 1:23Jeff Dziekan: The next one is Come and Go.
- 1:26Jeff Dziekan: Founded in 1963, the Midwestern chain's name is a play on a phrase Come and Go, using the initials of the founders, Cross and Gentile.
- 1:36Jeff Dziekan: With 400 stores in 11 states, it's not difficult to find that there's a tasty dog wrapped in a soft bun.
- 1:43Jeff Dziekan: What's outstanding about the dogs is that they're often on special.
- 1:47Jeff Dziekan: With two dogs, chips, and a drink running less than six dollars.
- 1:51Jeff Dziekan: I am in.
- 1:52Jeff Dziekan: Next one, Michael.
- 1:54Jeff Dziekan: Is a Circle K.
- 1:55Jeff Dziekan: Almost as ubiquitous as a 7 Eleven Circle K.
- 1:57Jeff Dziekan: All Angus beef dogs are dependable choice for a road trip.
- 2:01Jeff Dziekan: You know, I hate to say that's what we used to call that commie K.
- 2:04Don Armstrong: There you go.
- 2:04Don Armstrong: Never mind, that's another story for the other thing.
- 2:06Don Armstrong: There you go.
- 2:06Jeff Dziekan: Uh trip meal and a late night snack.
- 2:08Jeff Dziekan: Prices vary, but you can usually find a dog and a drink for around two bucks with no extra change in toppings.
- 2:15Jeff Dziekan: Next one we got is AMPM.
- 2:18Jeff Dziekan: The Tapatilla hot dogs and AMPM are spicier versions of our traditional roller dogs made with a tapeilla hot sauce.
- 2:25Jeff Dziekan: AMPM.
- 2:26Jeff Dziekan: AMPMIS.
- 2:27Jeff Dziekan: I want to go there.
- 2:28Jeff Dziekan: I don't I never heard of them.
- 2:30Jeff Dziekan: They're around.
- 2:31Jeff Dziekan: A West Coast I think there's one in Sugarland.
- 2:33Jeff Dziekan: A West Coast convenience store chain with locations in Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, offers a spicy store.
- 2:39Jeff Dziekan: You didn't say Texas.
- 2:40Jeff Dziekan: Well, I think there's one over there though.
- 2:42Jeff Dziekan: They offer the dogs for$1.99.
- 2:45Jeff Dziekan: The chain also offers cheddarwurst dogs packed with cheese at the same price.
- 2:51Jeff Dziekan: If you buy one dog, get the second dog for only a dollar fifty.
- 2:54Jeff Dziekan: I am in.
- 2:56Jeff Dziekan: Michael?
- 2:57Jeff Dziekan: We got the holiday station.
- 2:59Jeff Dziekan: For only a dollar, you can get authentic Nathan Jr.
- 3:01Jeff Dziekan: all beef dog at the Midwest chain.
- 3:03Jeff Dziekan: Dang, a dollar.
- 3:05Jeff Dziekan: Locations in where?
- 3:06Jeff Dziekan: Alaska, Idaho, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
- 3:14Jeff Dziekan: Our full serve Nathan's hot dog with classic Johnsonville brats.
- 3:19Jeff Dziekan: If a long day in the car has you feeling hangry, go for a hot dog.
- 3:24Jeff Dziekan: Hangry.
- 3:24Jeff Dziekan: 7 Eleven is the next one.
- 3:26Jeff Dziekan: For its price, the 711 Big Bite may be just the best dog.
- 3:30Jeff Dziekan: You can get almost anywhere in the country.
- 3:32Jeff Dziekan: Seriously, with over 13,000 locations, it gets harder to avoid a ubiquitous brand.
- 3:37Jeff Dziekan: Its locations offer gas, and that's before you eat the hot dog.
- 3:42Jeff Dziekan: But you can also find there's a convenience store in many cities.
- 3:45Jeff Dziekan: The straightforward all beef dog starts at around two bucks.
- 3:48Jeff Dziekan: It's a quarter pound beef wrapped in a pillowy bun.
- 3:52Jeff Dziekan: Several different toppings are available with a very uh and they vary by location, of course.
- 3:57Jeff Dziekan: Speedway, which is also owned by 7-Eleven, also offers the big bite.
- 4:01Jeff Dziekan: And the last one on the list, Michael, is Sheets.
- 4:04Jeff Dziekan: This chain is around 700 stores located in central and western Pennsylvania.
- 4:08Jeff Dziekan: Maryland, Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina, southern the East Coast.
- 4:11Jeff Dziekan: They made to order dogs, starting at 99 cents.
- 4:14Jeff Dziekan: But they also offer more upgrades with the most convenience stores, including pretzel bun.
- 4:20Jeff Dziekan: Six kinds of cheese, including nacho.
- 4:23Jeff Dziekan: Uh 14 different spreads like Dr.
- 4:25Jeff Dziekan: Pepper barbecue sauce, 19 different toppings from caramelized onions to guacamole.
- 4:31Jeff Dziekan: Talk about a dog a Palooza.
- 4:33Jeff Dziekan: So there you go.
- 4:35Jeff Dziekan: What a deal.
- 4:36Jeff Dziekan: How about that?
- 4:37Don Armstrong: I'm sorry, I was waving at the drone.
- 4:40Jeff Dziekan: Oh, the drone climbing.
- 4:41Don Armstrong: I was waving at you.
- 4:42Jeff Dziekan: Paige thought you were.
- 4:44Don Armstrong: Yeah, I know.
- 4:45Don Armstrong: Paige, uh, I love you, but I w I was waving at the drone, but what in the Here's what I do.
- 4:58Don Armstrong: A review of the 2026 Lexus NX.
- 5:02Don Armstrong: It comes in so many different trim levels.
- 5:05Don Armstrong: Let me start.
- 5:06Don Armstrong: 350H, 350, 350H premium, 350 premium, 358 luxury, and the list goes on and on.
- 5:15Don Armstrong: I'm not going to bar you with all that.
- 5:17Don Armstrong: I had the 450H plus luxury all-wheel drive.
- 5:22Don Armstrong: This is considered a small SUV.
- 5:24Don Armstrong: I would consider it a small SUV.
- 5:27Don Armstrong: Uh, five seats.
- 5:30Don Armstrong: I'm sorry?
- 5:32Don Armstrong: No, the Lexus.
- 5:34Don Armstrong: Um, all new in uh 2022.
- 5:37Don Armstrong: Exterior features, attractively curvy body lines.
- 5:42Don Armstrong: I'm talking about the car now, so you get your mind out of the gutter, with signature spindle grille, different wheels and grills for different trims.
- 5:51Don Armstrong: The tail has brake cooling ducts back there.
- 5:55Don Armstrong: Does it need it?
- 5:56Don Armstrong: No, but it looks really cool.
- 5:58Don Armstrong: They're fake anyway, but it looks good.
- 6:00Don Armstrong: Um the C pillar adds a fast back, attractive touch to the design.
- 6:06Don Armstrong: What I liked about it, the overall design gets high marks, in my opinion, but could use improvement.
- 6:11Don Armstrong: I don't think anything.
- 6:12Don Armstrong: It really is a good-looking vehicle.
- 6:13Don Armstrong: Interior highlights, a uh center screen designed into the dash layout.
- 6:19Don Armstrong: It's nice and uh it looks really good.
- 6:23Don Armstrong: Comfortable seating with lots of adjustments.
- 6:26Don Armstrong: Uh leg room for the second row passengers is adequate, which is different for a small SUV.
- 6:33Don Armstrong: Overall, fit finish design, excellent.
- 6:36Don Armstrong: Uh trunk room, cargo room, adequate for this small SUV, especially with the second row down.
- 6:42Don Armstrong: What I liked about it, that 14-inch center screen.
- 6:46Don Armstrong: What could use improvement?
- 6:48Don Armstrong: The steering wheel multi-function buttons disappear when you're trying to use them.
- 6:53Don Armstrong: It's frustrating.
- 6:54Don Armstrong: So if you don't, if you're not using it, the display that tells you what it is that you're moving your cursor to disappears too quick.
- 7:06Don Armstrong: Going, dang it, where was I?
- 7:08Don Armstrong: So it comes with a 2.5 liter plug-in.
- 7:11Don Armstrong: This is a plug-in hybrid electric.
- 7:14Don Armstrong: Now, I did not plug it in.
- 7:16Don Armstrong: Okay, I'm guilty, I'll I'll admit that.
- 7:19Don Armstrong: But that's a pain.
- 7:21Don Armstrong: If it's got a gasoline motor in it, I'm not plugging it in.
- 7:25Don Armstrong: Because it's a pain.
- 7:25Don Armstrong: I don't have the setup at the house for net horsepower, 304 combined plug-in and the engine as well.
- 7:35Don Armstrong: So if you use both, 304 horsepower.
- 7:38Don Armstrong: Torque, plenty.
- 7:40Don Armstrong: Has a CVT transmission.
- 7:42Don Armstrong: Till rating, one ton.
- 7:46Don Armstrong: Would you subject your car to towing something?
- 7:48Don Armstrong: I I wouldn't.
- 7:50Don Armstrong: Uh apparently that other car show let out because it is nothing but cars all coming in here.
- 7:56Don Armstrong: It's crazy.
- 7:57Don Armstrong: There's some uh WRX STIs.
- 8:01Don Armstrong: Yep, do.
- 8:02Don Armstrong: Yeah, 10 bucks to pass by the in-wheel time booth.
- 8:05Don Armstrong: Wish you could see it.
- 8:06Don Armstrong: Sorry you can't.
- 8:09Don Armstrong: Miles per gallon, 34 with the gas.
- 8:13Don Armstrong: 84 with the gas plus electric plug-in aspect of it.
- 8:18Don Armstrong: 84.
- 8:19Don Armstrong: I got 33.4 because I didn't plug it in.
- 8:22Don Armstrong: Uh over 103.6 miles.
- 8:24Don Armstrong: Don, you only drove the thing 103 miles?
- 8:27Don Armstrong: Yeah.
- 8:27Don Armstrong: I only drove it 103 miles because that particular week I had two cars and uh I kind of split the difference between the two cars.
- 8:35Don Armstrong: What are you doing with two cars?
- 8:37Don Armstrong: Don't ask me.
- 8:38Don Armstrong: Don't get me started.
- 8:39Don Armstrong: What I liked, the mileage.
- 8:41Don Armstrong: Wish I'd taken the time to plug it in, though.
- 8:44Don Armstrong: I made a note of that.
- 8:47Don Armstrong: You know, they do they get out of the way when Mars shows up with the in-wheel time truck?
- 8:52Don Armstrong: Uh what could use improvement?
- 8:54Don Armstrong: Uh a non-plug-in would be great, but it would be more expensive.
- 9:00Don Armstrong: Uh what I liked about it, riding handling, top-of-the-line luxury.
- 9:04Don Armstrong: And what could use improvement?
- 9:06Don Armstrong: An F Sport is available.
- 9:09Don Armstrong: So that would give you a little bit more zip, some more vinegar, as they like to say.
- 9:13Jeff Dziekan: Oh, Vim and vinegar.
- 9:15Don Armstrong: Vim and vinegar.
- 9:17Don Armstrong: Vim?
- 9:17Don Armstrong: Is that a word?
- 9:18Don Armstrong: Vim, yeah.
- 9:18Don Armstrong: My mother used to lose that all the time.
- 9:21Don Armstrong: Um, okay, so let's talk about pricing.
- 9:23Don Armstrong: Base trim price,$61,740.
- 9:26Don Armstrong: Price is tested,$67,289.
- 9:30Don Armstrong: That counts me out.
- 9:31Don Armstrong: It's a little bit too expensive for me.
- 9:33Don Armstrong: Now you can get in an NX starting at$44,775.
- 9:37Don Armstrong: I think I'd look down at the lower level.
- 9:39Don Armstrong: That's just me.
- 9:41Don Armstrong: Competitors, Mercedes-Benz X3, the Acura RDX, and the Genesis G V70.
- 9:52Don Armstrong: I got another car review, going to do that in the last hour of the show this morning.
- 9:56Don Armstrong: And um, next week I'll review the Ram 1500.
- 10:01Don Armstrong: Oh, yeah.
- 10:02Don Armstrong: Oh my god, was that thing nice?
- 10:04Don Armstrong: Jeez.
- 10:05Don Armstrong: Expensive, but nice.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: I mean, so Mr.
- 10:16Don Armstrong: Morris, we're gonna have you continue on your trek here of being on the air, because you have done nothing to contribute to the show, but to this point.
- 10:25Jeff Dziekan: That gummet's running errands, he's making lunches.
- 10:28Jeff Dziekan: I know.
- 10:29Don Armstrong: Yeah, you got the pannies and bologna sandwiches, or what?
- 10:33Mike Marrs: Well, I I looked for some of the cheese mixed with the baloney, the cheese and bologna slices, but I couldn't find it.
- 10:38Jeff Dziekan: Well, on your way home, stop at a come and go and get a hot dog.
- 10:41Don Armstrong: All right.
- 10:41Don Armstrong: Oh, time now for seven racetracks worth visiting.
- 10:47Mike Marrs: So we looked at seven, I mean, we started looking at racetracks.
- 10:50Mike Marrs: There's racetracks all over the state, all over the country, different kinds, everything.
- 10:54Don Armstrong: But are they still open?
- 10:55Mike Marrs: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:56Mike Marrs: So, so this is more of uh seven underrated U.S.
- 11:00Mike Marrs: racetracks that are worth visiting if you really decide you just want to go.
- 11:04Mike Marrs: Some people go to baseball parks and football stadiums, eh, go to racetracks.
- 11:08Mike Marrs: So, one of them we want to talk about is Road America.
- 11:11Mike Marrs: Now, this is the classic natural terrain you're gonna be.
- 11:14Mike Marrs: Wisconsin.
- 11:15Mike Marrs: Yes.
- 11:15Mike Marrs: It's four miles, goes through the hills and forests of Wisconsin.
- 11:18Mike Marrs: You got a lot of long straights, so you get a lot of speed up, technical corners to make them slow down and try to maneuver around through the laps.
- 11:26Mike Marrs: But the thing about this track is there's a lot of fan freedom.
- 11:28Mike Marrs: There's a lot of places the spectators can run home big areas of the track to see it.
- 11:34Mike Marrs: And because of the elevation in the hills and stuff, you can get up and you can kind of see it.
- 11:38Mike Marrs: Uh and then uh it's special, it's considered one of the purest road courses in North America.
- 11:44Mike Marrs: Now, the another one I wanted to mention is the Virginia International Raceway.
- 11:50Mike Marrs: And so this one has a lot of elevation changes, which is what makes it kind of work really different from everybody else.
- 11:56Mike Marrs: You got uh a lot of places you can get the speed, but they've got flowing corners.
- 12:01Mike Marrs: It doesn't have the really long, straight speed uh straightaways to where you're gonna get up the maximum speed that you're gonna get in a lot of.
- 12:07Don Armstrong: And what's the name of that place?
- 12:08Mike Marrs: Virginia International Raceway.
- 12:10Mike Marrs: Now it's called VIR.
- 12:13Mike Marrs: That's kind of the abbreviation for it.
- 12:15Mike Marrs: I've heard of that one.
- 12:16Mike Marrs: But it's Virginia International Raceway.
- 12:18Jeff Dziekan: I've heard of VIR.
- 12:19Mike Marrs: And uh it's considered one of the better driving tracks that's in the country.
- 12:22Mike Marrs: And it because people go out there, they think feel like it's like a more like a country club track where everybody's just it's not like real media heavy whenever people go out there.
- 12:33Mike Marrs: Then the other thing is going up to uh the WeatherTech Raceway at Laguna Seca.
- 12:41Don Armstrong: Now this is that's Laguna Seca.
- 12:44Don Armstrong: WeatherTech is sponsoring it.
- 12:46Don Armstrong: Exactly.
- 12:46Don Armstrong: They're paying them a lot of money to have their name at the top of it.
- 12:50Mike Marrs: And if you go look at any sign it says WeatherTech.
- 12:55Don Armstrong: Anyway, they're not spending any money with us.
- 12:57Mike Marrs: No, I know.
- 12:58Mike Marrs: But it's one of the things that it's famous for is because of it's got a corkscrew turn with a sudden downhill left-right sequence that drops several stories in elevation.
- 13:08Mike Marrs: So you really kind of drop down on it.
- 13:10Mike Marrs: I've never driven that track.
- 13:11Mike Marrs: I've seen the signs as I drove by.
- 13:15Mike Marrs: But uh, it's uh in the hills near Monterey, California.
- 13:18Mike Marrs: Got a lot of scenic views, so you get a lot of exciting racing.
- 13:21Mike Marrs: Fans can sit on the grassy hillsides and watch them, which is one of the things that makes these tracks a little different.
- 13:26Mike Marrs: You're not parked your butt in the sand, stands all day.
- 13:29Mike Marrs: You can actually get out and enjoy some of the outside of it.
- 13:33Mike Marrs: Uh another racetrack is going to be the Seabring International Raceway.
- 13:41Mike Marrs: It's one of the oldest and toughest circuits in North America, originally built on an old World War II airfield.
- 13:48Mike Marrs: So it's all got concrete surfaces that can get kind of rough and uh makes things really challenging for the cars and the drivers because it's going to eat on tires pretty hard as well as the car.
- 13:57Mike Marrs: Now, this is where you're going to find the 12 hours of seabreen sometimes.
- 14:01Mike Marrs: Yeah, I mean, that's a race that you can go there to see.
- 14:03Mike Marrs: And it's more like old school racing.
- 14:05Mike Marrs: So a lot of people like there going to that gritty atmosphere, uh racing tradition, and you can actually camp there.
- 14:12Mike Marrs: So if you're really interested in that, it's a really great place to go.
- 14:16Mike Marrs: It's bumpy, it's brutal, and one of the toughest tracks for the drivers.
- 14:21Mike Marrs: The other one, uh the Barber Motorsports Park.
- 14:24Mike Marrs: Oh, yeah, that's a good one.
- 14:25Mike Marrs: Wait, skip the mid-Ohio.
- 14:26Mike Marrs: Uh-oh.
- 14:27Mike Marrs: Where did Mid-Ohio go?
- 14:28Mike Marrs: Here it is.
- 14:29Mike Marrs: It's in Ohio.
- 14:29Mike Marrs: Yeah, it's in Ohio.
- 14:30Mike Marrs: Mid-Ohio is a technical layout track, and it uh flows through the wooded hills and elevation changes.
- 14:37Mike Marrs: And it's whole major series like IndyCar series there.
- 14:40Mike Marrs: It's kind of a small track, but it's considered to be very technical.
- 14:46Mike Marrs: Then we'll go to Barber.
- 14:48Mike Marrs: Barber.
- 14:48Mike Marrs: Barber.
- 14:50Mike Marrs: Barber Motorsports Park is kidding, one of the most beautiful racing facilities.
- 14:54Mike Marrs: Why did it do that?
- 14:56Mike Marrs: In the world.
- 14:57Mike Marrs: It's got a lot of grass, a lot of sculpted places around the circuit to kind of make it look really nice.
- 15:02Mike Marrs: Kind of a botanical garden area.
- 15:04Mike Marrs: It's got smooth pavement, flowing corners, so you get a lot of racing for motorcycles there and the cars alike.
- 15:10Mike Marrs: Got a uh actually also has the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum on the site.
- 15:16Mike Marrs: So you get a combination of the two, including the Indy Car Grand Prix of Alabama.
- 15:23Mike Marrs: Road Atlanta is the last one that we're going to talk about right quick.
- 15:27Mike Marrs: It's known for its fast flowing layout, dramatic elevation changes, and uh got a lot of high speed, steep downhill run.
- 15:36Mike Marrs: The uh IMSA Sports Car Championship season runs through there.
- 15:40Mike Marrs: And they have again fans like the classic feel of it, being able to sit on the grassy hillsides, being able to get to the areas where you can see the cars really well.
- 15:50Mike Marrs: And that is seven racetracks that uh are much underrated and uh offer opportunities to go and see some different kinds of racing and different feels to the track.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: You know, you know, I was just let's move on with things.
- 16:10Don Armstrong: Uh so it's Jeff's daughter.
- 16:12Don Armstrong: She's up here.
- 16:13Don Armstrong: Um let's do Mr.
- 16:15Don Armstrong: Mars and the Mustang GT, Mr.
- 16:18Don Armstrong: Mars.
- 16:18Mike Marrs: Got me here.
- 16:19Mike Marrs: All right.
- 16:20Mike Marrs: Yeah.
- 16:20Mike Marrs: Ready to go.
- 16:21Mike Marrs: We are ready to go.
- 16:22Mike Marrs: So this is the 2025 Ford Mustang GT Convertible Drop Top Premier.
- 16:30Mike Marrs: Now, this vehicle was final assembly in Flat Rock of all places.
- 16:35Mike Marrs: It is the seventh generation of the Mustang, and it was reintroduced in 2024.
- 16:39Mike Marrs: So 25 is kind of a carryover.
- 16:42Mike Marrs: You can get the Mustang in an EcoBoost and EcoBoost Premium GT, GT Premium, or you can get the dark horse they just came out with.
- 16:50Don Armstrong: Well, was that C.
- 16:52Don Armstrong: You think the Dark Horse?
- 16:53Don Armstrong: I think I'll have that.
- 16:55Mike Marrs: So the GT Premium is where we were at with the convertible.
- 16:58Mike Marrs: And uh it's considered a sports car, and it's a four-passenger.
- 17:02Mike Marrs: Now, I'm sure anybody trying to get in the backseat might argue that with you, but it is considered a four-passenger vehicle.
- 17:09Mike Marrs: Got uh one thing I really liked about it, that I was a little concerned, the roof, the convertible roof on it, is fully lined, cloth top.
- 17:18Mike Marrs: And um, so it's really good at keeping out some of the sound.
- 17:21Mike Marrs: It seals up really good whenever you've got the top up.
- 17:23Mike Marrs: Up front, you're gonna find automatic LED headlights.
- 17:26Mike Marrs: It's got a hood vent that actually not a hood scoop, but a hood vent up front that looks like an inverted.
- 17:31Mike Marrs: I think Subaru once upon a time was doing inverted hood scoops on it.
- 17:35Mike Marrs: Garrain sensing wipers and all those good things, but it also has Rimbo brakes with a premium lining on it.
- 17:41Mike Marrs: So you got the red calipers with the white lettering on it, and it's got some 19-inch black aluminum wheels.
- 17:47Mike Marrs: So you put all that with the bright red paint that's on it, the black hood scoop or hood vent and the black top on it.
- 17:53Mike Marrs: It's really nice looking.
- 17:54Mike Marrs: Going down the road, getting ticket red.
- 17:58Mike Marrs: So uh inside we had a 12.4-inch LCD instrument cluster, so we got lots of room up there to see things.
- 18:05Mike Marrs: Got a 13.2-inch LED center stack.
- 18:08Mike Marrs: That's where you're gonna find all your convenience controls, your rear view camera, which works really well in that big of a screen.
- 18:14Mike Marrs: Now, the front seats are very comfortable, front bucket seats, sports car.
- 18:18Mike Marrs: And uh even had the red matching seat belts on it.
- 18:21Mike Marrs: And but there is an optional Ricaro seats available in this car.
- 18:25Mike Marrs: It would have been nice to see how they worked in this convertible, make it a little bit cooler.
- 18:30Mike Marrs: Uh, the back seat, like I said, enough said on that.
- 18:32Mike Marrs: Has the BO audio system with 12 speakers.
- 18:35Mike Marrs: Now we didn't have the opportunity because of the weather to drop the top and GG, just how much ire we could raise with the neighbors, but uh it sounds pretty good with the top down.
- 18:43Mike Marrs: Under the hood, this is where it gets good.
- 18:46Mike Marrs: 5.0 liter B8, 480 horsepower.
- 18:49Don Armstrong: Do your neighbors have ire?
- 18:51Mike Marrs: Well, uh, the lady next door, I think she does.
- 18:53Mike Marrs: She when I can get up at 4 o'clock in the morning and leave, she gets a little irritated.
- 18:57Don Armstrong: Irritated?
- 18:58Don Armstrong: Irritated.
- 18:58Don Armstrong: So you raise her ire.
- 19:00Don Armstrong: Yes.
- 19:01Don Armstrong: She's ired all the time, but you raise the ire.
- 19:03Mike Marrs: Yeah, at her age, it's kind of hard to tell.
- 19:05Don Armstrong: Okay.
- 19:07Mike Marrs: So again, we got this is true.
- 19:09Don Armstrong: VS true.
- 19:11Don Armstrong: Do you know the next door neighbor?
- 19:15Jeff Dziekan: She doesn't want to she can neither confirm nor deny.
- 19:19Mike Marrs: Yeah, she can't, because she still needs a ride home.
- 19:21Mike Marrs: It's also got a 10-speed automatic.
- 19:23Mike Marrs: We didn't have the six-speed in it, but it does have the 10-speed automatic.
- 19:27Mike Marrs: The engine combination that you can get with the car in the Mustang kind of dictates which transmission options you have available.
- 19:33Mike Marrs: Now, the EPA says you should be looking for about 16 miles to the gallon in the city, 24 out on the highway, 19 combined.
- 19:39Mike Marrs: I drove this car 325.3 miles, including the the trip over here to kind of check things out to know how we were going to set up over here to pre-survey everything.
- 19:47Mike Marrs: And I got 20 miles to the gallon on that car, and I was really proud of that.
- 19:53Mike Marrs: Also, uh, as far as ride handling goes, of course, it's it's almost like driving a go-kart.
- 20:00Mike Marrs: It has the performance vehicle, so it's got a little bit stiffer uh suspension on it, more for road handling and stuff, but it does make it ride a little bit rougher.
- 20:08Mike Marrs: Um, the bigger and the wider tires that are on this car, on this GT, has uh a little bit more road noise on it.
- 20:15Mike Marrs: It also has 355 gears on it, so it is uh got plenty of get up and go juice.
- 20:22Mike Marrs: Now the base trim price on this vehicle that we were driving is$56,580.
- 20:28Mike Marrs: The base model price on a Mustang is$33,915.
- 20:34Mike Marrs: Our MSRP as tested,$72,245.
- 20:39Mike Marrs: Really, wow.
- 20:40Mike Marrs: So almost$20,000 of options between the performance package and some of the paint and some of the other things that were on here, the audio system, all of it that kind of adds up.
- 20:49Mike Marrs: If you're looking for something to compare it to, you know, maybe the Toyota GR Supra starts at$56,250.
- 20:58Mike Marrs: Okay.
- 20:59Mike Marrs: The uh Nissan Z Nismo, unfortunately, it starts at 62.
- 21:04Mike Marrs: Okay.
- 21:04Mike Marrs: You could get into a Z cheaper than that, but the Nismo seem to be more like a fair comparison.
- 21:08Mike Marrs: And really and truly, I uh again, Mustang's been around for years.
- 21:12Mike Marrs: It's got staying power.
- 21:15Mike Marrs: It's got staying power.
- 21:16Mike Marrs: It's a very fun, daily driver capable car to have.
- 21:21Jeff Dziekan: They seem to be getting bigger and bigger every year.
- 21:23Jeff Dziekan: There's one right there.
- 21:24Jeff Dziekan: Well, they're all getting bigger.
- 21:25Mike Marrs: Everything's getting bigger.
- 21:26Mike Marrs: It's it's it's a maneuver.
- 21:27Jeff Dziekan: Well, they don't make any competitors to it.
- 21:28Jeff Dziekan: That's true.
- 21:29Jeff Dziekan: The Camaro's gone.
- 21:31Jeff Dziekan: Well, exactly.
- 21:32Jeff Dziekan: The Camaro, the Challenger, and the ones you mentioned are are you know things you don't think of.
- 21:37Jeff Dziekan: Listen, that car is cool.
