  Speaker 1: Let's turn to God's word together and spend some time

  Speaker 1: with God.

  Speaker 1: Building our relationship with him, don't forget.

  Speaker 1: The biggest thing about your Christian life is that you

  Speaker 1: are in a personal relationship with God, and you want
• 0:27
  Speaker 1: to build that relationship to be the best, healthiest, most enjoyable, meaningful,
• 0:35
  Speaker 1: purposeful relationship in your life.

  Speaker 1: Yes, God can become your closest friend and the most
• 0:43
  Speaker 1: important person there is in your life. That's what He
• 0:46
  Speaker 1: wants to be, and He is working in your life
• 0:50
  Speaker 1: to make that so.
• 0:51
  Speaker 1: And so let's work as well on building our relationship
• 0:56
  Speaker 1: with God, just as he is working, and let's see
• 1:00
  Speaker 1: what he has to say. We're going to continue our
• 1:02
  Speaker 1: theme that we started last week on becoming strong in
• 1:06
  Speaker 1: the Lord.

  Speaker 1: One of the great stories of the Old Testament is
• 1:12
  Speaker 1: the story of Elijah when he was hiding out. He'd
• 1:18
  Speaker 1: been running away from Queen Jezebel, and he's waiting to
• 1:22
  Speaker 1: hear from God, and this is what it says.
• 1:25
  Speaker 1: Then Elijah came there to a cave and lodged there.
• 1:30
  Speaker 1: And behold, the word of the Lord came to him.
• 1:34
  Speaker 1: And he said to him, What are you doing here, Elijah?
• 1:39
  Speaker 1: And he said, I have been very zealous for the Lord,
• 1:43
  Speaker 1: the God of hosts, for the sons of Israel have
• 1:46
  Speaker 1: forsaken your covenant, torn down your altars, and killed your
• 1:51
  Speaker 1: prophets with the sword.
• 1:53
  Speaker 1: And I alone am left, and they seek my life
• 1:58
  Speaker 1: to take it away.

  Speaker 1: And so God said, Go forth and stand on the
• 2:04
  Speaker 1: mountain before the Lord.

  Speaker 1: And behold, the Lord was passing by, and a great
• 2:10
  Speaker 1: and strong wind was rending the mountains and breaking in
• 2:15
  Speaker 1: pieces the rocks before the Lord. You can imagine the
• 2:19
  Speaker 1: noise of that.
• 2:22
  Speaker 1: But the Lord was not in the wind.
• 2:25
  Speaker 1: And after the wind an earthquake.
• 2:29
  Speaker 1: But the Lord was not in the earthquake.
• 2:32
  Speaker 1: And after the earthquake, a fire.
• 2:36
  Speaker 1: But the Lord was not in the fire.
• 2:40
  Speaker 1: And after the fire a sound of a gentle blowing.

  Speaker 1: And it came about when Elijah heard it.

  Speaker 1: That he wrapped his face in his mantle and went
• 2:50
  Speaker 1: out and stood in the entrance of the cave and
• 2:54
  Speaker 1: behold a voice came to him and said, What are
• 2:57
  Speaker 1: you doing here, Elijah?

  Speaker 1: And so Elijah begins a conversation with God.
• 3:06
  Speaker 1: Becoming strong in the Lord.
• 3:10
  Speaker 1: In order for that to happen, you have to be
• 3:13
  Speaker 1: still and listen.
• 3:15
  Speaker 1: Elijah was there. He needed to encounter God. Do you
• 3:19
  Speaker 1: find yourself in that same place feeling pressure or stress
• 3:24
  Speaker 1: or fear about the future?
• 3:27
  Speaker 1: And feeling like you need to hear from God.
• 3:30
  Speaker 1: Well, God may not be in the great huge momentous
• 3:34
  Speaker 1: stupendous things. Sometimes He comes to us like that, but
• 3:39
  Speaker 1: very often God is just waiting for you to wait
• 3:44
  Speaker 1: for Him, for you to listen.
• 3:47
  Speaker 1: Have you learned to listen, not just to listen to
• 3:51
  Speaker 1: worship music or to listen to Bible teaching, but to
• 3:55
  Speaker 1: just be quiet.
• 3:58
  Speaker 1: Just quiet

  Speaker 1: With your Bible open in front of you, reading and
• 4:03
  Speaker 1: listening to God, God wants to speak into your life.
• 4:09
  Speaker 1: Learn to look for him in every circumstance and to
• 4:13
  Speaker 1: listen for his voice speaking to you through His word
• 4:16
  Speaker 1: in your life.
• 4:18
  Speaker 1: Then you're on your way to being strong in the Lord.
