- 0:40Speaker 4: What is happening? I'm Rod Lundquist and I'm Boo when
- 0:45Speaker 4: we are the nose?
- 0:47Speaker 2: Hi everybody?
- 0:49Speaker 4: Hi everyone?
- 0:50Speaker 2: How are you? Bud? I'm good?
- 0:52Speaker 4: I mean my voice sounds silly.
- 0:54Speaker 2: You did? I liked it? I liked it.
- 0:56Speaker 4: Oh, I'm coming to you from from up north.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:02Speaker 4: We we got up here the other day Wednesday. So
- 1:08Speaker 4: we got up here Monday.
- 1:09Speaker 2: It is Wednesday. Okay, you went up Monday.
- 1:11Speaker 4: Nice went up Monday. We're gonna spend the whole week.
- 1:14Speaker 4: We're gonna come back Sunday and were rocking out the
- 1:18Speaker 4: fourth of July up here.
- 1:20Speaker 2: That sounds so fun.
- 1:21Speaker 4: It's gonna be super fun. When are you making your
- 1:24Speaker 4: way up north?
- 1:25Speaker 2: I don't know. I was just sort of trying to
- 1:28Speaker 2: figure that out. Either tomorrow or Friday morning. Okay, kind
- 1:32Speaker 2: of depends cool, but yeah, I don't know one one
- 1:36Speaker 2: or the other. I'll probably go up tomorrow night. I'm guessing.
- 1:40Speaker 2: I don't know. We're just gonna have worse traffic. It's
- 1:43Speaker 2: probably all just gonna not be great, but whatever.
- 1:46Speaker 4: Yeah, that was one nice thing about coming up early.
- 1:48Speaker 4: We didn't have to worry about that. But we did
- 1:51Speaker 4: kind of have to hang out in a little town
- 1:53Speaker 4: called Royalton, Oh for another like half hour, just because
- 2:00Speaker 4: as crazy storms we're going through. So we just took
- 2:05Speaker 4: and we did.
- 2:06Speaker 2: It's a real nice holiday there in Royalton, Oh. Yeah, nice,
- 2:09Speaker 2: real nice.
- 2:10Speaker 4: We hung out at the d Q there.
- 2:13Speaker 2: You know, I have been there a time or two
- 2:16Speaker 2: my friends.
- 2:17Speaker 4: Yeah, so we spent spent a good half hour there.
- 2:19Speaker 4: It was just north of that, so we just kind
- 2:21Speaker 4: of hung out and tell you.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Weren't in it. You were just kind of like, well,
- 2:24Speaker 2: maybe we just weight Well that's cool.
- 2:27Speaker 4: But yeah, we saw a bunch of trees down and
- 2:29Speaker 4: it's that time of year, man.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Dude, it's crazy. Well you saw the hail the Hale video,
- 2:34Speaker 2: you I know what's insane.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Here we go, people are enjoying the weather report from us.
- 2:39Speaker 4: I don't know why we always go straight to.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Them that we are. We're really getting to a certain
- 2:45Speaker 2: age strata. I think it is because I'm gonna be honest,
- 2:49Speaker 2: we flow right into it. I don't really know us
- 2:52Speaker 2: doing it. I know, and then whenever we do, it's
- 2:55Speaker 2: a thing. And then I feel bad every time you do,
- 2:58Speaker 2: because I'm always like, he's right, boy, I wouldn't be
- 3:00Speaker 2: interested in that at all.
- 3:02Speaker 4: And this will be from at least two weeks ago,
- 3:05Speaker 4: maybe three weeks.
- 3:06Speaker 2: There's one thing that's less, like, less interesting than talking
- 3:11Speaker 2: about the weather. It's talking about the weather three weeks ago.
- 3:13Speaker 4: Yeah, crazy, we're just talking, right, It looked like we're
- 3:21Speaker 4: just talking to things. It really was, and all you'll
- 3:26Speaker 4: never it was ninety one percent humidity when we left.
- 3:29Speaker 4: I'm not even kidding.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Oh my god, ninety one yucky. It's been. Yeah.
- 3:37Speaker 4: But anyway, let's see what they really want to hear.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Let's keep talking. After we talk about how the weather
- 3:42Speaker 2: sucks to talk about, let's keep going. Sorry, this is
- 3:44Speaker 2: my bad. What was the last movie you watched? So
- 3:47Speaker 2: I went to the theater and I saw a movie
- 3:50Speaker 2: that I honestly did not think was still going to
- 3:53Speaker 2: be there at this point. And I also I am
- 3:55Speaker 2: now regretting it because I haven't seen a bunch of
- 3:57Speaker 2: the heavier hitters. But I went and saw Pressure the
- 4:01Speaker 2: other day. Oh you did, I did, Yes, this.
- 4:04Speaker 4: Is the the faust went and saw that.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Oh did they what did they think?
- 4:09Speaker 4: They enjoyed it? They really enjoyed it.
- 4:11Speaker 2: I thought it was really entertaining. This is a movie
- 4:14Speaker 2: about the seventy two hours. Actually very it's wonderfully tied
- 4:18Speaker 2: to our little weather conversation because that's what it's all about. Actually,
- 4:21Speaker 2: now that I'm thinking about it, damn it, that would
- 4:23Speaker 2: have been such a good segue. But it's about the
- 4:26Speaker 2: seventy two hours before D Day and World War Two
- 4:30Speaker 2: and the invasion into Normandy and France in general. And
- 4:34Speaker 2: essentially we have our guy what is that's getting his name?
- 4:39Speaker 2: Andrew Scott? Yes, Brandon Fraser is Dwight Eisenhower? Ever heard
- 4:46Speaker 2: of it? And yeah, Andrew Scott is a renowned British
- 4:54Speaker 2: not climatologists meteorologist that is brought in because they need
- 4:59Speaker 2: to know what the weather there's going to be like.
- 5:00Speaker 2: For this giant invasion that's happening. Uh, And it's super
- 5:05Speaker 2: it's basically just about that. It's about like trying to
- 5:08Speaker 2: find the weather patterns. He of course disagrees with Christmasina,
- 5:12Speaker 2: who you'd recognize he's been with a bunch of stuffy
- 5:17Speaker 2: and who is like the American meteorologist. And so there's
- 5:21Speaker 2: like some butting of heads and disagreement and it's all
- 5:23Speaker 2: very stressful because it's World War two and you know,
- 5:26Speaker 2: all these things a super interesting story that I didn't
- 5:29Speaker 2: know anything about. I won't spoil any endings for you
- 5:32Speaker 2: other than we did invade, but you know, all that
- 5:36Speaker 2: good stuff. What but a really really great, great movie.
- 5:44Speaker 2: It was. I feel like World War two movies are
- 5:46Speaker 2: always at least pretty good for me. Like there's such
- 5:49Speaker 2: a time of drama and intensity anyway that it's not
- 5:53Speaker 2: hard to get you in that spot where the stakes are,
- 5:56Speaker 2: you know, very clear. So I liked that. I thought
- 6:00Speaker 2: Brandon Fraser was awesome, as I thought you did a
- 6:03Speaker 2: really great job. And Andrew Scott, I just I kind
- 6:06Speaker 2: of love everything he's in. I just feel like he's
- 6:08Speaker 2: a really tremendous act.
- 6:09Speaker 4: He's always good.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Yeah, he's just really really good. And Carrie Condon is
- 6:12Speaker 2: in it as well. She's great to also in the
- 6:16Speaker 2: Armed Services there, and it was she she's awesome as well.
- 6:19Speaker 2: So yeah, it was really fun. I liked it a lot.
- 6:22Speaker 2: I assume it'll be like to video soon. I would
- 6:25Speaker 2: think probably, but who knows at some point. But yeah,
- 6:29Speaker 2: check it out if you're into that. How about you,
- 6:32Speaker 2: what's the most recent movie you watched?
- 6:34Speaker 4: Well, I'm kind of switching it up because we went
- 6:38Speaker 4: and saw Come from Away at the Guthrie Theater.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Oh, switch it up and tell me everything.
- 6:44Speaker 4: If you want to see the movie version, apparently it
- 6:47Speaker 4: is on Apple TV. It's the Broadway production. Yeah, so
- 6:51Speaker 4: there you go.
- 6:51Speaker 2: It's delightful.
- 6:53Speaker 4: This GOT three version was so good for those who
- 6:56Speaker 4: don't know. It's about a town in Newfoundland on nine
- 6:59Speaker 4: eleven where thirty eight planes got diverted to and we're
- 7:04Speaker 4: on the ground for about a week, so the whole
- 7:06Speaker 4: town has to come together crazy and figure out what
- 7:09Speaker 4: they're going to do with these thirty eight people during
- 7:12Speaker 4: this horrible, horrible time. To straight up musical, which I
- 7:16Speaker 4: didn't know, so that was a nice surprise. I thought
- 7:19Speaker 4: there was like some music in it. But no, it's
- 7:22Speaker 4: it's a straight up musical. So I enjoyed that. It's funny,
- 7:25Speaker 4: it's heartwarming, it's heartbreaking, it's all the things.
- 7:28Speaker 2: For sure.
- 7:29Speaker 4: I thought it was a lovely production. I'd highly recommend
- 7:33Speaker 4: people see if they're in the Minnesota area. It was
- 7:36Speaker 4: so good, really really wonderful. That's awesome, and it was
- 7:39Speaker 4: really fun. We got to bring Lydia. It was her
- 7:41Speaker 4: first like adult play.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Yeah, what you think.
- 7:45Speaker 4: She loved it and she was so cute. She got
- 7:48Speaker 4: all dressed up. Oh she like I was sitting next
- 7:52Speaker 4: to her and like when the lights went down, she
- 7:54Speaker 4: was just like like her face got all smiley and
- 7:57Speaker 4: she was so excited and she's been talking about it nonstops.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Well, she loves musicals, so you knew that was gonna
- 8:03Speaker 2: be good. You know, like, that's so fun. Oh lovely dude.
- 8:06Speaker 4: But there's some times where you know, people get choked
- 8:09Speaker 4: up and stuff, and Kelsey definitely did. And like Lydia
- 8:13Speaker 4: was like, she's so just like her mom. She was
- 8:15Speaker 4: like really tuned in on is everyone okay. She's like
- 8:20Speaker 4: holding her hand over me, and it was it was lovely.
- 8:23Speaker 4: It was a really fun experience.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Yeah, and what a show. So good.
- 8:27Speaker 4: It's a great show. And that's the first time I've
- 8:29Speaker 4: been in the Gut three since I worked there, so
- 8:32Speaker 4: at least for a show.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, that was really neat nice dude, it was cool.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Check it out. I love it.
- 8:39Speaker 4: What have you been streaming?
- 8:41Speaker 2: I have not finished. I have the last episode remaining,
- 8:44Speaker 2: but I saw all of the Bear this week, the
- 8:48Speaker 2: last season, and it's so good.
- 8:51Speaker 4: But it's this season. This season is the last season
- 8:55Speaker 4: of the series that we're saying.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Both of those are correct, I believe.
- 8:57Speaker 4: Cool, Okay, because I to finish. Oh you haven't finished
- 9:01Speaker 4: a prior season.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, this is season five, I believe, and I
- 9:07Speaker 2: think they've officially said like this is it is my
- 9:09Speaker 2: understanding at least I don't think I'm wrong about that.
- 9:13Speaker 2: So yeah, I just have the last episode remaining. It's
- 9:17Speaker 2: really great.
- 9:18Speaker 4: Uh.
- 9:18Speaker 2: This season has been just a lot of fun. It's
- 9:21Speaker 2: been kind of going back to what got me super
- 9:23Speaker 2: into it in the first place, and not that they ever,
- 9:26Speaker 2: they didn't go away from that necessarily, but they had
- 9:29Speaker 2: to kind of like flesh out some other characters, which
- 9:32Speaker 2: was lovely in parts, but also, you know, their parts
- 9:35Speaker 2: just left me being like, oh, but I kind of
- 9:37Speaker 2: missed the dynamic, you know, like.
- 9:39Speaker 4: I felt like it was missing a little bit in
- 9:40Speaker 4: the last season. I think that's why we didn't finish it. Yeah,
- 9:43Speaker 4: but it also was just that we started reading a bunch,
- 9:46Speaker 4: but yes.
- 9:46Speaker 2: For sure, and maybe they didn't you know, maybe they
- 9:49Speaker 2: kind of got into like how Lost was where they
- 9:50Speaker 2: were like, we don't know exactly when we're going to finish,
- 9:54Speaker 2: so we have to like kind of you know, massage
- 9:57Speaker 2: things to make it feel that way. Sure. Anyway, this
- 10:00Speaker 2: season has been it's just super super fun and I
- 10:04Speaker 2: have been really loving it. It's super dramatic, obviously intense,
- 10:09Speaker 2: but there's been so much like it feels like the
- 10:13Speaker 2: like the the finale season, because I feel like they're
- 10:16Speaker 2: kind of they're tying up some loose ends and they're
- 10:19Speaker 2: like leaving us in a good spot with some of
- 10:21Speaker 2: these folks at least with their story, whether or not
- 10:24Speaker 2: it's like a good thing or not, you know, like
- 10:26Speaker 2: there's some resolution, I guess is what I'm saying. In
- 10:30Speaker 2: a great way. But I've I've just I've loved it.
- 10:33Speaker 2: I think everybody in it is so great, and I
- 10:35Speaker 2: continue to just be in love with the fact Brothers.
- 10:39Speaker 2: I think they are the funniest thing.
- 10:40Speaker 4: They're the best.
- 10:42Speaker 2: There's so many I won't ruin anything for you, but
- 10:46Speaker 2: my god, there's so many things, and they're they're in
- 10:49Speaker 2: each episode so little, but they're so funny, like the
- 10:53Speaker 2: moment gold, you know, like they and it's probably helped
- 10:58Speaker 2: by being surrounded by all that drama and like intensity,
- 11:01Speaker 2: you know, but right, god, they're just the best. They're
- 11:03Speaker 2: so funny. But everybody you guys have heard of talk
- 11:06Speaker 2: about everybody else in it. It's really great if you
- 11:08Speaker 2: want to watch a it's a very intense drama, but
- 11:11Speaker 2: it's not like intense like people are, you know, getting
- 11:14Speaker 2: shot in the face or anything like that.
- 11:16Speaker 4: It's but it's stressful though.
- 11:17Speaker 2: It is very stressful. So but if you think you
- 11:21Speaker 2: like that, like the inner workings of a restaurant, check
- 11:24Speaker 2: out The Bear. Were the first people to ever recommend it.
- 11:26Speaker 2: It's mine, I think, so.
- 11:27Speaker 4: Yeah, nobody's been talking about that one.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Yeah nobody, But yeah, I loved it. How about you?
- 11:33Speaker 2: What even stir reaman.
- 11:35Speaker 4: It was Lydia's tenth birthday and she got to choose
- 11:37Speaker 4: a movie we were going to watch last night. On
- 11:41Speaker 4: the way up, we listened to the entirety of the
- 11:43Speaker 4: Hamilton soundtrack and so she bought Hamilton to.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Watch another like stage presentation movie, have a different musical
- 11:52Speaker 2: staged plays. Yes, very cool.
- 11:56Speaker 4: So yeah, this is streaming on Disney Plus and people
- 11:58Speaker 4: weren't aware. And I won't get super involved since we
- 12:00Speaker 4: did an entire episode on it fair but it's an
- 12:03Speaker 4: incredible show. Kelsa's folks have never seen it before, so
- 12:08Speaker 4: that was fun.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Getting to introduce them to it. They were god loved it. Yeah.
- 12:13Speaker 4: Well, her mom, Linda had read the Cherno biography on Hamilton,
- 12:20Speaker 4: which is what inspiredly Manuel, and so she was super
- 12:24Speaker 4: informed and she was really into it.
- 12:26Speaker 2: So that was that was really fun. That's fun.
- 12:28Speaker 4: Also, I saw that Christopher Jackson, who we love so much,
- 12:31Speaker 4: who plays Washington. Uh, he was my fave in He
- 12:36Speaker 4: is going back on Broadway through January.
- 12:38Speaker 2: He's the best.
- 12:39Speaker 4: That's pretty awesome, dude, So it makes me want to
- 12:42Speaker 4: go see it. Yeah, I want to do a trip.
- 12:45Speaker 2: That sounds fun.
- 12:46Speaker 4: Maybe we should talk, even though I think I'd have
- 12:49Speaker 4: to wait until January, but maybe.
- 12:54Speaker 2: Maybe we do a live episode with our boys out there.
- 12:58Speaker 2: That would be so much business into it and no
- 13:05Speaker 2: one would buy, but we can maybe get away with
- 13:06Speaker 2: them write love it very fun? Well that's cool man,
- 13:13Speaker 2: love that. What do you think? Should we do a
- 13:14Speaker 2: few plug runs here? Yes? Oh that was sultry. I
- 13:19Speaker 2: liked it. You guys, give usus as always on the

- 13:58Speaker 4: you're great, Thanks so much for me wonderful. Another pick
- 14:02Speaker 4: that we like to give our patrons is an extended
- 14:04Speaker 4: version of every single episode that we put out, we'll
- 14:06Speaker 4: do a top five draft that pertains to the movie
- 14:09Speaker 4: we're talking about. Yeah, and for this one, we decided
- 14:13Speaker 4: to do our top five favorite Andy Samberg films stretch.
- 14:18Speaker 2: It's a stretch, but we're gonna make it. We're gonna
- 14:20Speaker 2: make it. It's the two of us.
- 14:22Speaker 4: It's the two of us. I've seen twelve Andy Samberg movies.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Turns out that's exactly how many I've seen. Boom, and
- 14:29Speaker 2: I don't think they're all the same ones.
- 14:31Speaker 4: I know they're not.
- 14:32Speaker 2: I didn't see Transylvania or anything.
- 14:35Speaker 4: So yeah, yep, I have a bunch of animated ones here.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Yeah, well that'll be fun. Look forward to that. Greg, Well, wonderful.
- 14:45Speaker 2: We're here today to talk about an Andy Samberg film,
- 14:48Speaker 2: a vehicle if you will. That he jumps over a
- 14:52Speaker 2: ramp it. She does is a stunt man in it.
- 14:55Speaker 2: That was pretty he's a stuntman. Maybe not necessary ramp up.
- 14:58Speaker 2: But here we are here to talk about a movie
- 15:01Speaker 2: from two thousand and it happened. Yeah, it's it's.
- 15:06Speaker 4: Historic nineteenth anniversary. So for the listeners, I had it
- 15:11Speaker 4: in my brain when we were doing pop Star.
- 15:14Speaker 2: I was like, oh, we.
- 15:15Speaker 4: Got to do hot Rod because that was just ten
- 15:17Speaker 4: years before that, well it was nine years who cares?
- 15:22Speaker 4: And really it was just an excuse to talk about
- 15:25Speaker 4: this movie because I have it.
- 15:27Speaker 2: And clearly I was concerned because I fact checked you
- 15:29Speaker 2: pretty hard.
- 15:31Speaker 4: I literally found out yesterday and we had planned planned
- 15:34Speaker 4: this last week.
- 15:36Speaker 2: So it was funny. I've already watched it, and yeah,
- 15:39Speaker 2: also that doesn't really matter, so yeah, let's go for it.
- 15:42Speaker 4: You're just like, so, yes, the nineteenth anniversary celebration. Have
- 15:48Speaker 4: you seen that guy? He was in Friendship. He's a
- 15:52Speaker 4: he's one of Tim Robinson's buddies, but he was a
- 15:56Speaker 4: recurring thing on seth Myers and his big thing is like,
- 15:59Speaker 4: are are you going to talk about it? And he's like,
- 16:01Speaker 4: what are you going to talk about the We'll just
- 16:04Speaker 4: say the nineteenth anniversary of Hot Rotten. He's like, usually
- 16:07Speaker 4: dressed up. That's pretty good it. So he's done it
- 16:09Speaker 4: for like, you're not going to talk about Limp Biscuits
- 16:13Speaker 4: second album. It's seventeen years old today, Like, we're not
- 16:16Speaker 4: going to talk about it, so.
- 16:17Speaker 2: We're just gonna ignore it. Okay, that's a funny bit.
- 16:20Speaker 4: I like it, But he does it for the most
- 16:23Speaker 4: obscure things, and I feel like this would be a
- 16:25Speaker 4: good one.
- 16:26Speaker 2: And just like so sincere two.
- 16:28Speaker 4: Right and knows everything about it, it's wonderful.
- 16:32Speaker 2: That's pretty great. I like that bit a lot.
- 16:34Speaker 4: So look at that and then think of us doing this.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Mus doing this. It'll be wonderful, I promise. But yeah,
- 16:41Speaker 2: let's talk a little hot rot. Do you want to
- 16:43Speaker 2: get started with just a rough SYNOPSI.
- 16:45Speaker 4: Sure, here we go. Amateur stuntman Rod Kimball needs to
- 16:51Speaker 4: raise fifty thousand dollars for his abusive stepfather's life saving
- 16:55Speaker 4: hard operation. His motivation to save Frank's life so that
- 17:00Speaker 4: he can finally defeat him in a fair fight, earn
- 17:02Speaker 4: his respect, and prove he is a man.
- 17:08Speaker 2: It's just the It's the greatest plot line in a movie. God,
- 17:11Speaker 2: it's so flat, dumb, so dumb and great. I love
- 17:14Speaker 2: it so much. Great Reid pal, great raid.
- 17:16Speaker 4: Thanks, thank you.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Let's go to Rotten Tomatos and hear what they have
- 17:18Speaker 2: to say. Critics have it not doing great. They're at
- 17:22Speaker 2: thirty nine percent, guys, thirty.
- 17:25Speaker 4: When I just read the plot synopsis, like, thirty nine
- 17:28Speaker 4: percent seems pretty fair.
- 17:30Speaker 2: It actually seems like, oh, better than I thought, honestly, Okay, yeah,
- 17:35Speaker 2: audience members have quite a bit of higher than that.
- 17:38Speaker 2: They are at sixty four percent.
- 17:39Speaker 4: Bud when that's silly, should be that.
- 17:42Speaker 2: But I am a little surprised. But also I don't
- 17:46Speaker 2: know if a lot of people saw it, like right
- 17:47Speaker 2: when it came out. Obviously, well yeah, that was my
- 17:51Speaker 2: whole thing.
- 17:51Speaker 4: But still if you watch it, I don't know, it's
- 17:54Speaker 4: still I guess they're pretty out there humor wise, but
- 17:57Speaker 4: it hits my funny bone, and.
- 17:58Speaker 2: That's yeah, it does seem like it could a little
- 18:00Speaker 2: little hit or miss for sure. For sure, for sure.
- 18:03Speaker 2: But let's if I know what we think, it's time
- 18:05Speaker 2: for our hot take. Hot take, that's a hot take.
- 18:11Speaker 2: That's a hot take. Myself a burning U tires.
- 18:16Speaker 4: Oh oh, he does go on fire at one point.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Oh yeah, he's definitely on fire.
- 18:21Speaker 4: That's right when he's trying to Yeah, he's trying to
- 18:24Speaker 4: raise that money. He gets put on fire at a
- 18:26Speaker 4: birthday party.
- 18:27Speaker 2: He's also on fire for probably longer than he was
- 18:30Speaker 2: supposed to be, is what I'm going For sure, he's
- 18:33Speaker 2: on fire. Ooh, great reference anba jam, great game, great booms.
- 18:40Speaker 2: I can go first. I So I thought I had
- 18:43Speaker 2: seen this before. I am now not so sure after
- 18:46Speaker 2: having watched it again, if I had only seen part
- 18:50Speaker 2: of it maybe or something. But there was sure. There
- 18:52Speaker 2: was just several points where I was like, I don't
- 18:54Speaker 2: remember this at all. You know, I don't have a
- 18:58Speaker 2: great memory, but usually I'm pretty good with like movie
- 19:01Speaker 2: plot stuff, and I didn't remember a bunch of this.
- 19:04Speaker 2: So that's one.
- 19:05Speaker 4: So it's like your first time, I think so.
- 19:07Speaker 2: I think so this was my maiden voyage and too
- 19:09Speaker 2: hot Rod. It is kind of comforting to think that
- 19:15Speaker 2: these cats have just been making these weird movies with
- 19:18Speaker 2: this same type of humor for so long, you know,
- 19:21Speaker 2: like even before this obviously, but this was This was
- 19:25Speaker 2: Sandberg's flirst full length movie, right, if I'm remembering correctly,
- 19:30Speaker 2: And you know, I actually really liked it. I thought
- 19:32Speaker 2: it was very fun despite it being super dumb and
- 19:36Speaker 2: like irreverent right with like it's just dumb and have
- 19:40Speaker 2: fun with that. He really can put in some actual
- 19:43Speaker 2: heart into his stuff, which I think is so fun.
- 19:45Speaker 2: I think he's really talented at that. We've seen other
- 19:48Speaker 2: SNL people that can definitely do that, right, Like Chris
- 19:51Speaker 2: Farley was good at that, and you know, I'm sure
- 19:53Speaker 2: there's a million others, right, but I really liked that
- 19:57Speaker 2: part of this. I thought this was super super funny.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Like we said, the like the gist of the story,
- 20:03Speaker 2: the plotline cracks me up. It's like, we got to
- 20:05Speaker 2: raise money to save this guy so I can beat
- 20:07Speaker 2: the hell out of him finally, you know, so dumb,
- 20:11Speaker 2: so dumb. But it is like that sort of like masculinity.
- 20:15Speaker 2: We can't just tell him we love him. We have
- 20:16Speaker 2: to like you know, like it's all the things right,
- 20:19Speaker 2: but it's super super fun I love all the relationships
- 20:22Speaker 2: in it. This movie is super silly without getting in
- 20:26Speaker 2: its own way like with silliness, you know, Like I
- 20:29Speaker 2: don't know, it just felt like it was a real
- 20:31Speaker 2: easy ride, this movie, which I really liked a lot. Yeah,
- 20:36Speaker 2: I don't even know that. I have honestly too much
- 20:38Speaker 2: else to say other than I think it is so
- 20:41Speaker 2: funny that he wants to be a stunt man so
- 20:44Speaker 2: bad and he doesn't land a single stunt throughout the
- 20:47Speaker 2: entire film, not one time it's good, not even once
- 20:53Speaker 2: does he do it. So it's just like, why do
- 20:55Speaker 2: you think you should keep doing. Yeah, and we know,
- 20:58Speaker 2: like it's in the plot and whatever. But uh, I
- 21:01Speaker 2: just really liked it, I thought, and honestly for not
- 21:05Speaker 2: having like, I can't imagine their budget was super big
- 21:08Speaker 2: in two thousand and seven for this movie. Could it's
- 21:11Speaker 2: like pretty good pyrotechnics and like stunt stuff that was
- 21:14Speaker 2: in there. It all looked pretty good, you know, kind
- 21:16Speaker 2: of It's not like the craziest stunts of all time,
- 21:19Speaker 2: but I mean it all looked like super realistic and fun.
- 21:22Speaker 2: So yeah, I don't know, I really liked this. I
- 21:24Speaker 2: had a great time. Are you're watching it?
- 21:26Speaker 4: I thought it was super good watching it for the
- 21:28Speaker 4: first time.
- 21:28Speaker 2: True, yes, true, true for sure. But yeah, I guess
- 21:32Speaker 2: that's my hottest take, hot take.
- 21:34Speaker 1: Bro.
- 21:35Speaker 4: So I was new to this movie, I guess. I
- 21:38Speaker 4: guess I saw it later than you did, but I
- 21:42Speaker 4: missed it when it came back out in seven and
- 21:45Speaker 4: so yeah, I so wish I would have watched it
- 21:48Speaker 4: back then, because when I saw it for the first
- 21:50Speaker 4: time a few years ago, it made me laugh so hard,
- 21:52Speaker 4: and I just feel like it would it would be
- 21:56Speaker 4: way more in my.
- 21:57Speaker 2: Whole Yeah, in the repertoire or there.
- 22:01Speaker 4: For sure, you know, I wish I could be loving this,
- 22:04Speaker 4: you know, from twenty years ago.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Now, just watching this in the theater would have been hysterical.
- 22:08Speaker 2: I bet, Oh my god, so silly and.
- 22:10Speaker 4: Fun, so silly and dude, that just was like peak,
- 22:13Speaker 4: like two thousand and seven, Like, were we living together
- 22:17Speaker 4: in two thousand and seven?
- 22:18Speaker 2: That was the year before? I think, I year before
- 22:20Speaker 2: two thousand and eight is when, well I guess down here, Yeah,
- 22:24Speaker 2: were we living together into luth in two thousand and seven?
- 22:26Speaker 2: I probably was.
- 22:27Speaker 4: Close maybe ay enoughtown. Yeah, but anyway, one or the other. Anyway,
- 22:31Speaker 4: but yeah, that would have been How much fun would
- 22:33Speaker 4: that have been?
- 22:34Speaker 2: Follow watched it nine hundred times?
- 22:36Speaker 4: Yeah, so I miss that. I wish we would have
- 22:39Speaker 4: done that.
- 22:40Speaker 2: I get that for sure.
- 22:42Speaker 4: It's directed by Akiva Schaeffer. We just did Pop Star
- 22:44Speaker 4: that he directed and wrote and start in Uh, and
- 22:47Speaker 4: he just wrote and directed The New Naked Gun, which
- 22:49Speaker 4: we loved, and we want to do an episode on
- 22:51Speaker 4: So Good. It's written by Pam Brady, who was a
- 22:54Speaker 4: writer on South Park, Bigger Longer, on a Cut Team, America,
- 22:58Speaker 4: World Police, a movie called Hamlet two with Steve Coogan
- 23:03Speaker 4: that was really funny that I saw.
- 23:06Speaker 2: I don't know that much.
- 23:07Speaker 4: Yeah, it came out pretty much right after this, like,
- 23:10Speaker 4: oh wait, I think, but she has kind of switched
- 23:14Speaker 4: things up and is now doing more kid stuff. So
- 23:16Speaker 4: she did that Ruby Gilman Teenage Kraken a few years ago.
- 23:20Speaker 2: Smurfs, Yeah, that looked cute. I never saw that one either.
- 23:22Speaker 4: And the new SpongeBob movie as well, so very, very funny.
- 23:27Speaker 4: I just loved this cast so much. We got the
- 23:29Speaker 4: Lonely Island guys, a super young Danny McBride and Bill Hater,
- 23:33Speaker 4: and a bunch more that will be mentioned in the
- 23:36Speaker 4: tuc But it was just fun seeing these folks from
- 23:38Speaker 4: twenty years ago. I really love that. It's really making
- 23:42Speaker 4: fun of eighties movies.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Yes, that's a good call, good show.
- 23:46Speaker 4: Which I really enjoy. It felt like it was inspired
- 23:48Speaker 4: from things like Better Off Dead or Rat or Footloose,
- 23:53Speaker 4: and I loved those super campy moments. Those are just
- 23:57Speaker 4: my favorite times in the movie.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Oh my god. Yeah, and you know that they love
- 24:02Speaker 2: those two, which I think is you know, it's from
- 24:04Speaker 2: a place of love as well, which is great, right, Yeah, yeah.
- 24:07Speaker 4: Yes, But the music was so much fun and straight
- 24:10Speaker 4: from the eighties. The John Farnham song You're the Voice.
- 24:15Speaker 4: That's a song when they are walking down the street
- 24:17Speaker 4: and everyone joins in.
- 24:18Speaker 2: Yes.
- 24:20Speaker 4: So that is like an Australian super jam. And we
- 24:26Speaker 4: were told when we were over there, like, if you
- 24:28Speaker 4: learn a chorus of this, they're going to freak out,
- 24:30Speaker 4: and so we did. And when we were in Brisbane
- 24:34Speaker 4: playing a festival, they completely lost their minds and we
- 24:37Speaker 4: were playing in this like big tent and the whole
- 24:40Speaker 4: place just was screaming this song it went. We only
- 24:43Speaker 4: did one chorus, but we just repeated it over and over.
- 24:47Speaker 2: They were going on, I guess it.
- 24:50Speaker 4: Was so much fun.
- 24:51Speaker 2: So is it kind of like a Sweet Caroline you
- 24:54Speaker 2: know that sort of vibe?
- 24:55Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a it's like an Australian anthem.
- 24:58Speaker 2: That's so fun. Everyone get that's great. I remember you
- 25:01Speaker 2: were telling me I didn't connect that that was the
- 25:04Speaker 2: same it was, of course. Yeah, yeah, that's fun.
- 25:09Speaker 4: Yeah, the plot is ridiculous. That's not what really moves
- 25:11Speaker 4: this movie. What makes it are the performances, the goofy lines,
- 25:15Speaker 4: the hilarious edits. But yeah, my hot take is just
- 25:19Speaker 4: I wish I would have found it sooner. That's that's
- 25:21Speaker 4: about all.
- 25:21Speaker 2: I love that. I love that. Yeah, well we got there,
- 25:24Speaker 2: now we're here. Now we got there, and we're talking
- 25:26Speaker 2: about Yeah, I love that. Hot take, Pal, hot take,
- 25:30Speaker 2: hot take. Let's talk about our favorite acting performance. Shall
- 25:33Speaker 2: we name the the dude?
- 25:36Speaker 5: I'm the dude, So that's what you call me, you
- 25:39Speaker 5: know that, or his dude or duder or you know,
- 25:45Speaker 5: el dudo reno. If you're not into the whole brevity thing,
- 25:47Speaker 5: why don't.
- 25:48Speaker 2: You go first, Pal, I'll go first.
- 25:50Speaker 4: Andy Samberg as Rod Kimball.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Yeah, that's pretty that's pretty fair.
- 25:55Speaker 4: Low hanging fruit. But he's so ridiculous in this. His
- 25:59Speaker 4: humor absolutely gets me. It's kind of Adam Sandler like
- 26:05Speaker 4: in the sense that he can go from like sweet
- 26:07Speaker 4: and vulnerable to super mad and upset in like the
- 26:11Speaker 4: blink of an eye. That feels very Adam Sandler, sure,
- 26:15Speaker 4: and I find that hilarious every time. But he just
- 26:19Speaker 4: does so many different physical, funny things in this and
- 26:24Speaker 4: isn't really afraid to just make himself look really stupid
- 26:28Speaker 4: for a joke.
- 26:29Speaker 2: He's not at all, which is great.
- 26:31Speaker 4: I love that. And you can tell they're not taking
- 26:34Speaker 4: like they're taking it seriously. But not taking themselves.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not like precious right to the Yeah, yeah,
- 26:41Speaker 2: yeah for sure, which I love. That's great.
- 26:44Speaker 6: I love that.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Who is your dude? Same? Andy Sandberg? Just like you know,
- 26:49Speaker 2: what are you gonna say? He's just so great all
- 26:52Speaker 2: the reasons you said. I think he like I said
- 26:54Speaker 2: in the hot take too, like the way that he
- 26:58Speaker 2: doesn't steals some like the real the little bit of
- 27:00Speaker 2: realness he puts into when he's having those tender moments
- 27:04Speaker 2: really goes a long way into like making it believable.
- 27:08Speaker 2: And like you said, I had also that I just
- 27:11Speaker 2: love that he can play sort of this just really
- 27:15Speaker 2: dumb but sweet dumb character really well and then oscillate
- 27:20Speaker 2: between that and just being like a normal dude. You know,
- 27:23Speaker 2: Like I think that's really great. So yeah, I really
- 27:27Speaker 2: love him. I think he's wonderful.
- 27:29Speaker 4: He's awesome. Well, let's talk about there's a bunch of
- 27:31Speaker 4: folks in this movie. Why don't we choose a supporting role,
- 27:34Speaker 4: and let's choose the Tucci.
- 27:36Speaker 2: I woa G.
- 27:38Speaker 4: Why don't you go first on this one?
- 27:40Speaker 2: Sure? Isla Fisher is great in everything I've ever seen her,
- 27:45Speaker 2: and I feel like and I love for her, and
- 27:46Speaker 2: I thought so cuteness was so cute and great inns
- 27:51Speaker 2: like they had such a cute relationship. You know. She
- 27:54Speaker 2: also stood up for herself eventually, you know, when she
- 27:57Speaker 2: kind of came to realization that another guy, Will Arnette
- 28:01Speaker 2: was being kind of a d bag, you know, and
- 28:03Speaker 2: all that. But yeah, I just really liked her. I
- 28:05Speaker 2: just think she's so fun. She's really funny. She is,
- 28:09Speaker 2: and she just like she's another one. Her performances all
- 28:12Speaker 2: seemed very grounded, no matter what insane thing is happening
- 28:16Speaker 2: around her, because she's been in a lot of very
- 28:18Speaker 2: silly things, whether it's she's like this sex crazed and
- 28:21Speaker 2: info or girl you know, friend or whatever. Like, I
- 28:25Speaker 2: just think it's really fun. So I just love her.
- 28:28Speaker 4: So I picked her as my That's really fun.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Who did you do?
- 28:32Speaker 4: I was not expecting this person to win my teuch.
- 28:38Speaker 4: But it's another kind of like the fact Brothers in
- 28:41Speaker 4: the Bear. This guy comes in, crushes and is Lee.
- 28:45Speaker 4: He leaves Chris Parnell as Barry Pastors. He's so funny,
- 28:52Speaker 4: am radio guy. Yeah, he destroyed me, dude, so fun
- 28:58Speaker 4: Every single line that he says makes me laugh. He
- 29:01Speaker 4: points to a tattoo he has where the young man
- 29:06Speaker 4: is urinating on an FM radio and the television at
- 29:10Speaker 4: the same time.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Now, I like to think, and then the.
- 29:17Speaker 4: AM radio is nice and shiny and not being Pete up.
- 29:22Speaker 4: So good, just so ridiculous that I have a few
- 29:25Speaker 4: of his quotes. But I Chris Parnell, he gets me too, man.
- 29:30Speaker 4: He comes in an anchorman too and steals the show
- 29:32Speaker 4: in front with all of those amazing people.
- 29:35Speaker 2: So yeah, that's great.
- 29:40Speaker 4: My runner up though, such a tool bag, mister Will
- 29:45Speaker 4: Arnett as Jonathan.
- 29:47Speaker 2: He's the biggest toolbag ever, just the worst.
- 29:53Speaker 4: That babe wait scene is just like that.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Gets me babe, wait, babe, wait wait wait, so funny way.
- 30:05Speaker 4: And then it just cuts off in the middle of
- 30:07Speaker 4: a weight. Oh my god, the editing on that is so.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Good, Christine, honestly, yeah, it's so perfect.
- 30:13Speaker 4: Yeah, but yeah, both those guys are so funny. But
- 30:17Speaker 4: there's more. You have some runner ups.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Oh yeah, of course. Ian McShane just killing it out
- 30:23Speaker 2: here as the stepfather and just like, yeah, they have
- 30:26Speaker 2: such a fun relationship. I just really like it.
- 30:30Speaker 4: It's so ridiculous, dude. That's like the one part of
- 30:33Speaker 4: the movie that I don't like, it's not where I'm
- 30:36Speaker 4: laughing the hardest. I just think that whole setup is
- 30:39Speaker 4: the most ridiculous.
- 30:41Speaker 2: Yeah, look, and why are we still setting on it
- 30:46Speaker 2: so much, like, you know, focusing on it so much? Yeah, yeah,
- 30:49Speaker 2: I get that.
- 30:50Speaker 4: But even with that, Ian McShane was a fun guy
- 30:52Speaker 4: to have as so fun.
- 30:54Speaker 2: Victor though so fun. I love him. Drama is always great.
- 31:00Speaker 2: I feel like he's always good. Dude. Those two just
- 31:02Speaker 2: clearly have such a friendship that they just trust each
- 31:05Speaker 2: other so much that it's like, you know, kind of
- 31:08Speaker 2: like Samberg is okay, looking dumb, Jorma is just okay,
- 31:12Speaker 2: kind of like being pushed around or something, you know
- 31:15Speaker 2: what I mean.
- 31:16Speaker 4: Like literally every single time Danny McBride is like dancing,
- 31:20Speaker 4: his move is to just push Yarma as like far
- 31:22Speaker 4: as he can into the Yeah that makes me laugh.
- 31:25Speaker 4: And Danny McBride in this, dude, Yeah, like so young.
- 31:28Speaker 4: So this has to be one of his first things.
- 31:31Speaker 2: We didn't get to tell. Yeah, like we didn't know
- 31:33Speaker 2: what was coming, but right, you know, yeah.
- 31:36Speaker 4: You can definitely tell that he's just kind of going
- 31:39Speaker 4: with it and just saying what comes to his head,
- 31:41Speaker 4: which is so funny. As we know from like Eastbounded
- 31:45Speaker 4: down that that dude can just improvise and say the
- 31:47Speaker 4: most ridiculous things. So he did that a few times.
- 31:50Speaker 4: I thought I was going to pick him initially, but man,
- 31:54Speaker 4: there's just so many fun small roles in this.
- 31:57Speaker 2: It really is. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I also loved like
- 32:00Speaker 2: limps into him in uh Righteous Gemstones that happens when
- 32:04Speaker 2: he goes on his little you know, like dude tirade there,
- 32:07Speaker 2: which I think I wrote down, But yeah, it's so funny.
- 32:09Speaker 2: I loved him and Bill.
- 32:13Speaker 4: So funny.
- 32:14Speaker 2: The thing I love about Bill Hayter is he he
- 32:17Speaker 2: is not a I am here and you a laugh guy.
- 32:20Speaker 2: He is a I will do stuff and if it's
- 32:22Speaker 2: your thing, you're gonna have a nice time. But if not,
- 32:25Speaker 2: I don't need to work. Not that he's not working
- 32:28Speaker 2: for it, but he's not like vying for your adoration
- 32:32Speaker 2: or something. Yeah, it's not something I can identify with,
- 32:35Speaker 2: but I do appreciate it. I do appreciate it.
- 32:38Speaker 4: I like that.
- 32:40Speaker 2: But yeah, I just loved him. I thought he was
- 32:41Speaker 2: so funny.
- 32:43Speaker 4: Yeah, Oh it's hilarious. They then went and got an
- 32:46Speaker 4: Academy Award winning actress in Sissy's Basic to play his
- 32:50Speaker 4: mother wild It's just like, what are we doing? Yeah,
- 32:55Speaker 4: but she likes a comedy. I bet it's yeah. I
- 32:59Speaker 4: bet it's silly too, right, yeah. Yeah, Like she's the
- 33:02Speaker 4: mom and blast from the past percent yeah yeah, and I.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Bet she's just like, ah, these are a breeze, they're easy, right,
- 33:10Speaker 2: that sounds good. Blast in the Past she's drunk all
- 33:12Speaker 2: the time, and this one she's just like ignoring them
- 33:15Speaker 2: the whole time. Kind of. That's so funny. That's pretty great.
- 33:20Speaker 4: That was everybody I wrote down, but I'm sure there's more.
- 33:22Speaker 4: Did you write anybody else down?
- 33:23Speaker 2: You know, I don't know that I really did. Everyone
- 33:26Speaker 2: else was such a small part, you know. Yeah, yeah,
- 33:30Speaker 2: there are people I recognized, but noah, that's pretty much it.
- 33:33Speaker 2: All right.
- 33:34Speaker 4: Well then let's uh, let's go choose our favorite scene,
- 33:36Speaker 4: and let's pick the dingus.
- 33:38Speaker 2: The dingus sodas is quite simple, really, Dingus Dingus. I
- 33:44Speaker 2: could talk about my dingas all night long. I want
- 33:47Speaker 2: you go. I have a clear number one.
- 33:50Speaker 4: It was the one where so the first time I
- 33:52Speaker 4: ever watched this, I was on the road and I
- 33:55Speaker 4: was in a hotel and it was like just starting
- 33:58Speaker 4: on the HBO channels, like, oh, I've never seen this,
- 34:01Speaker 4: I'm gonna watch perfect, like this is fate, even though
- 34:05Speaker 4: it was kind of late when it started, but it
- 34:07Speaker 4: was fine, perfect, But the punch dancing.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Into my fall, it is the.
- 34:15Speaker 4: Funny, one of the funniest things I've ever seen because
- 34:20Speaker 4: it is just like blatantly ripping off footloose, which I loved.
- 34:25Speaker 2: In the best way.
- 34:27Speaker 4: Just whoever, those like cheesy dance breakdowns with like that
- 34:32Speaker 4: eighties music, just synthesizer in the background, amazing forest. Yes,
- 34:40Speaker 4: the sun just kind of coming through the forest. Oh
- 34:44Speaker 4: my god, it's lit perfectly.
- 34:45Speaker 2: It's so fun.
- 34:47Speaker 4: But then he's like punch dancing and falls and he
- 34:51Speaker 4: just keeps falling and falling and falling, and I mean
- 34:56Speaker 4: then you get like a wide and it's all quiet,
- 34:59Speaker 4: but you just see this, you know, the mountains in
- 35:02Speaker 4: the landscape in the background, and then you just like
- 35:04Speaker 4: see him pop into frame and he's like, whoa, that
- 35:09Speaker 4: kills me. It kills me. It's perfect editing, so so good.
- 35:14Speaker 2: I loved it.
- 35:15Speaker 4: That's my number one by far.
- 35:17Speaker 2: It was like it did the thing where it was
- 35:18Speaker 2: like funny and then was like, wow, is this still going?
- 35:21Speaker 2: And then it was funny again. Yes, yes, I love that.
- 35:25Speaker 2: That's good because that was kind of the one that
- 35:28Speaker 2: I had earmarked, but I was like, is that too dumb?
- 35:31Speaker 4: Oh it's so dumb, but it killed me.
- 35:35Speaker 2: So so much. I will also say the one that
- 35:39Speaker 2: we mentioned earlier, the marching with them singing that song
- 35:43Speaker 2: that's runner up and then it turns to like bedlam
- 35:46Speaker 2: around them. I love that scene so much.
- 35:49Speaker 4: And well then they just have the three random people
- 35:52Speaker 4: who are like looking up into the left and just
- 35:55Speaker 4: singing as hard as.
- 35:56Speaker 2: They wonderful, and I just I loved how our main
- 36:00Speaker 2: characters were like what what's happening right now? Like that? Yeah,
- 36:04Speaker 2: they break the four at the end, just being like
- 36:07Speaker 2: what what?
- 36:08Speaker 4: That really escalated quickly, one of those kind of things.
- 36:13Speaker 2: I love that so much, so good.
- 36:17Speaker 4: And then they're talking about it and Danny McBride is
- 36:20Speaker 4: like holding a television. He clearly got.
- 36:23Speaker 2: In on the rioting. Yeah, I don't know, people got crazy.
- 36:26Speaker 2: I don't know what.
- 36:29Speaker 4: Really good I was into all that. Those are my
- 36:33Speaker 4: top two.
- 36:34Speaker 2: I love that. And then the other one that I
- 36:37Speaker 2: loved was when he when Hater calls him to get
- 36:42Speaker 2: a ride to the hospital. That super chill cracked me
- 36:46Speaker 2: up because he was so like, yeah, he played it
- 36:49Speaker 2: so like tiny, you know where he's like, he's like,
- 36:52Speaker 2: oh my god, what happened. He's like, is it noticeable? Yeah? Yeah,
- 36:57Speaker 2: it is just so great that he like points to
- 37:01Speaker 2: the trash can hospital. No, no, no, trash can hospital.
- 37:06Speaker 4: Okay, okay, actually been the hot take walk your friend
- 37:11Speaker 4: into the hospital. Maybe yeah, maybe, But he was so
- 37:15Speaker 4: cool and calm and collected it. Just tripping and apparently
- 37:19Speaker 4: I have seen I think Bill Hayter was talking about it.
- 37:23Speaker 4: I think that's one of Bill Hayter's friends.
- 37:26Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a real thing in the trivia where
- 37:28Speaker 2: he was he was Andy Samberg's part, like he was
- 37:32Speaker 2: the one that got called, but you had to bring
- 37:34Speaker 2: his buddy or something. Well, we'll worried more about it
- 37:37Speaker 2: later because I don't I don't see it right.
- 37:38Speaker 4: But I definitely saw him in an interview talking about that.
- 37:42Speaker 2: Hilarious. Yeah, terrifying, which I love. Yeah, that's pretty great.
- 37:47Speaker 2: That's pretty great. And then the only other one I
- 37:51Speaker 2: had written down was the montage where they're like raising
- 37:53Speaker 2: the money and he just keeps he keeps failing stunts
- 37:57Speaker 2: over and over and over again, and it's.
- 37:59Speaker 4: So feah dude, yep, every one of them.
- 38:01Speaker 2: He's on fire and that stuff is crazy so good.
- 38:07Speaker 4: Yeah, the Human Pinata I really enjoy. Oh yes, just
- 38:13Speaker 4: dropping candy as these kids so just.
- 38:18Speaker 2: Beating the hell out of the.
- 38:22Speaker 4: Two other and they're they're so dumb. I feel like
- 38:25Speaker 4: everyone I picked.
- 38:26Speaker 2: Was so dumb. Movie pretty dumb.
- 38:28Speaker 4: It's pretty dumb. But the things that I think about
- 38:31Speaker 4: with this movie, aside from the punch dancing fall and
- 38:36Speaker 4: the walk down the street, is the cool beans at it.
- 38:39Speaker 2: Oh the cool beans man, that is dumb. You're having
- 38:42Speaker 2: a fever dream and it just.
- 38:44Speaker 4: Goes on for so long. Beans like they're just you know,
- 38:50Speaker 4: they just took like a million takes and then they
- 38:52Speaker 4: tried to make a song out of it.
- 38:54Speaker 2: So dumb.
- 38:56Speaker 4: And the other one I already already brought it up.
- 38:58Speaker 2: But the babe wait, babe, wait, bab wait, it's pretty great. Yeah,
- 39:02Speaker 2: that's pretty great. I love. I will also say the
- 39:09Speaker 2: having to hold this breath underwater in the pool scene
- 39:11Speaker 2: is pretty stupid. And bell breaks.
- 39:14Speaker 4: They try out the bell and then they just start
- 39:17Speaker 4: like harmonizing with it and trying to like what.
- 39:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it's so ridiculous, just like so dumb. They're like
- 39:25Speaker 2: set up to it where he's like, no matter how
- 39:27Speaker 2: much I struggle, no matter how you can, never.
- 39:31Speaker 4: The string immediately breaks off of it and he just
- 39:35Speaker 4: drown him.
- 39:36Speaker 2: He panics like ten seconds in. That's so good. I
- 39:40Speaker 2: loved it. But yeah, yeah, but I'm super happy taking
- 39:46Speaker 2: the punching in the forest, slash falling down the hill.
- 39:51Speaker 4: It's amazing.
- 39:51Speaker 2: That's when he's in his like sad place or whatever,
- 39:54Speaker 2: writer's quiet place. Isn't that what? Yeah?
- 39:57Speaker 4: So funny, dude, Yeah, thank you for letting us choose
- 40:00Speaker 4: that because I think it's so funny.
- 40:02Speaker 2: It's so funny. I love it.
- 40:04Speaker 4: There's some really funny lines too. I think maybe maybe
- 40:07Speaker 4: we should go and show me the money.
- 40:09Speaker 2: The money show me.
- 40:17Speaker 4: You start.
- 40:18Speaker 2: He starts, okay, it's like right away, but when he's like,
- 40:25Speaker 2: did you reinforce the takeoff? Ramp's there wasn't time. There's
- 40:29Speaker 2: no time limit to anything they're doing there. They're recording alright,
- 40:33Speaker 2: but his reaction into me, he's just like, hey, yeah,
- 40:37Speaker 2: it's so cool. I thought that was that was really wonderful.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Let's see Uh, all, great men have mustaches, Frank, Yeah,
- 40:46Speaker 2: but real men grow them. You know. I have a
- 40:48Speaker 2: hormone disorder. So good. It's like winey yelling. It's some
- 40:55Speaker 2: of my favorite stuff he does. It's the best get out.
- 40:58Speaker 4: And he starts crying, Oh.
- 41:00Speaker 2: My god, ah so fun. When he's like, my safe
- 41:08Speaker 2: word will be whiskey. What are you saying? He's like, whiskey?
- 41:13Speaker 2: What am I saying it? Weird? Do you mean whiskey? No,
- 41:18Speaker 2: the whole thing? Yeah, you have the whole thing right now?
- 41:21Speaker 2: I don't. Oh yeah.
- 41:22Speaker 4: And then it's just where do you get off? I
- 41:24Speaker 4: just don't know why you're saying it that way? Why?
- 41:27Speaker 4: Why am I'm saying?
- 41:29Speaker 2: What? What way? Forget it? Forget it? I will? I
- 41:34Speaker 2: will forget it? So stupid I will, which doesn't.
- 41:40Speaker 4: Even doesn't make any sense even the rules. Good same
- 41:48Speaker 4: dude that felt like a real family guy bit for
- 41:51Speaker 4: some reason.
- 41:55Speaker 2: Also Will Arnette when he sees his buddy Sullivan at
- 41:59Speaker 2: the restaurant and he is going to say hi to him,
- 42:01Speaker 2: and he's like, well don't you too go fall in
- 42:05Speaker 2: lovele I'm gone, nothing that could ever happen. And then
- 42:09Speaker 2: in the like softly in the background. You hear him, go, Sullivan,
- 42:13Speaker 2: you choed, I owe you a shot to the nuts.
- 42:16Speaker 2: Yeah Sullivan, you chod make me me laugh so hard. Yes, dude,
- 42:25Speaker 2: I know I've said it three times now, but do
- 42:26Speaker 2: I need to bleep chod? What does chody me?
- 42:30Speaker 4: You know you're good?
- 42:31Speaker 2: I mean I know what it means. But yeah, yeah, yeah, okay,
- 42:34Speaker 2: great great? Oh but that line cracked me up.
- 42:37Speaker 4: Why don't you say a couple the one that killed
- 42:41Speaker 4: me is now? I don't want to say that kiss
- 42:45Speaker 4: was hot, but if the Boner police are here, I
- 42:47Speaker 4: want a lawyer.
- 42:48Speaker 3: I want a lawyer.
- 42:50Speaker 2: I love that so much. Oh god, that's funny.
- 42:56Speaker 4: Uh. When Danny McBride gets super mad at the guy
- 43:02Speaker 4: who owns the trailer that Roda just ran into super hard,
- 43:07Speaker 4: He's like, I'm freaking pumped.
- 43:08Speaker 2: I've been drinking green tea. Oh god, damn Dag.
- 43:13Speaker 4: He's like, this is my hat. Now, this is totally
- 43:16Speaker 4: my hat, just like you can tell he's just riffing.
- 43:19Speaker 2: Yeah, so funny.
- 43:21Speaker 4: Oh, they've done it. They've raised fifty thousand dollars for
- 43:25Speaker 4: Frank's conveniently priced surgery. Just making fun of itself so much.
- 43:33Speaker 4: I used to be legit. I was too legit. I
- 43:37Speaker 4: was too legit to quit. But now I'm not legit.
- 43:42Speaker 4: I'm unlegit, and for that reason I must us quid
- 43:47Speaker 4: so dumb.
- 43:48Speaker 2: I love it.
- 43:53Speaker 4: I have so many more will are not.
- 43:56Speaker 2: Well.
- 43:56Speaker 4: Maybe I'll pick up a box of dongbags so we
- 43:59Speaker 4: can knock bootslets.
- 44:04Speaker 2: We just want to make sure you guys don't like
- 44:06Speaker 2: him even a little bit, so at all.
- 44:12Speaker 4: You could say some.
- 44:14Speaker 2: Well, the one the Danny McBride that we talked about earlier,
- 44:16Speaker 2: that God, I go to church every goddamn Sunday. You're
- 44:19Speaker 2: going to bring the demon out of me? Yeah, just
- 44:25Speaker 2: really got me. Hey, Rod, what's that song called where
- 44:28Speaker 2: Grandma got run over by a reindeer?
- 44:31Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 44:31Speaker 2: You mean grandma got run over by a reindeer? No, No,
- 44:35Speaker 2: it's the nell for me.
- 44:38Speaker 4: Chatham says that to me all the time. I probably
- 44:42Speaker 4: should have given him a call for this one.
- 44:44Speaker 2: I didn't think about it. That's a good shout. I
- 44:46Speaker 2: do like that. No, so good, so good. Another Parnell
- 44:55Speaker 2: on the after Rod crashes at the very end and
- 44:59Speaker 2: everybody's running to wards. Francis, Yes, like I for one
- 45:02Speaker 2: hope none of them had a fight with him this
- 45:04Speaker 2: morning because he is more than likely dead. Yes, yes,
- 45:08Speaker 2: so good. It's a matter of fact. That really got
- 45:13Speaker 2: me good, got me so good.
- 45:16Speaker 4: Yeah, that was really good. Hey, Denise, have I ever
- 45:20Speaker 4: shown you a picture of my dead dad?
- 45:22Speaker 2: No? Oh, you got to see it. He's super dead.
- 45:24Speaker 2: He's super dead. So dumb?
- 45:28Speaker 4: Okay, Yeah, I love when he has been revived. He
- 45:33Speaker 4: just had his out of body experience where he watched
- 45:35Speaker 4: the Grilled Cheese, which was so dumb. But the first
- 45:41Speaker 4: thing that he says when he's like revived is hub stank,
- 45:48Speaker 4: which really reminded me of Kelly Clarkson.
- 45:52Speaker 2: It had to be some on some level of reference
- 45:54Speaker 2: to that, right, Yes, I I'm with you. That's what
- 45:57Speaker 2: I thought of, too, so good.
- 45:59Speaker 4: I love that little stink who the stank is just
- 46:03Speaker 4: the most random That's actually all I wrote down, though.
- 46:07Speaker 4: Do you have any more?
- 46:08Speaker 2: Yeah? I have a couple more. When he comes in
- 46:11Speaker 2: and sees his stepfather like sick on the couch and
- 46:14Speaker 2: like the ambulance is left and he's like, what's going on?
- 46:17Speaker 2: Is this some sort of interactive theater thing? That was
- 46:21Speaker 2: so good. I got me so good. I love that
- 46:23Speaker 2: so much. I really liked that he died instantly the
- 46:30Speaker 2: very next day, the very next day. I also just
- 46:34Speaker 2: loved it's I think it's one of the moms. I
- 46:37Speaker 2: think it might be the party where he gets a
- 46:38Speaker 2: little on fire. Let me know if I'm wrong about that.
- 46:40Speaker 2: But anyway, but they're like talking, she's giving him the
- 46:45Speaker 2: bunny or whatever, and he's like they grew up so fast.
- 46:48Speaker 2: She just goes, get the fuck off my porch. Sounds good,
- 46:52Speaker 2: sounds good, sounds good. I will do that. So that
- 46:56Speaker 2: was really I loved her. Yeah, it's just perfect.
- 47:02Speaker 3: Uh.
- 47:02Speaker 2: That was all the ones I wrote down. I think though,
- 47:05Speaker 2: cool beans, good ones, cool cool, cool beans.
- 47:08Speaker 4: Cuckock cool beans. Let's go to the crying game bigs
- 47:12Speaker 4: boohoo moments.
- 47:13Speaker 2: Oh way zero zero cries zero boooze. So your final answer, yeah,
- 47:22Speaker 2: I mean.
- 47:22Speaker 4: There are some tender moments, but really cry I don't
- 47:26Speaker 4: think so.
- 47:26Speaker 2: No, I didn't go. I don't know. I could be very.
- 47:29Speaker 6: Good good guys trying to trick you.
- 47:32Speaker 2: Wait, Dan, I didn't, but I did think it was
- 47:34Speaker 2: more heartwarming than some of these movies. Sure it's interesting, ah,
- 47:39Speaker 2: but I know boo hoos. Let's go to a little
- 47:41Speaker 2: bit of trippy here we what do we got? We
- 47:45Speaker 2: got during filming of the opening scene, and I actually
- 47:48Speaker 2: clocked this when it happened. I was like, man, that
- 47:51Speaker 2: looked like hit weird.
- 47:53Speaker 4: It's a pretty brutal fall.
- 47:54Speaker 2: Yeah, but where Rod is jumping over the bus, the
- 47:58Speaker 2: stuntman playing him actually broke his like and if because
- 48:00Speaker 2: I watched it, his leg hits pretty square right on
- 48:03Speaker 2: the edge of the bus. Oh that was what made
- 48:05Speaker 2: me be like, ooh ouch ouchi. But yeah, he broke
- 48:09Speaker 2: his leg. Yelser, so that fun. All of Samberg's stunt
- 48:16Speaker 2: doubles have prosthetic noses. Killed me. This is so mean
- 48:20Speaker 2: and great. They all have prosthetic noses to make them
- 48:23Speaker 2: seem as big as Andy's. Yorma and Akiva then played
- 48:27Speaker 2: a joke on Samberg by requesting that the prosthetics be
- 48:31Speaker 2: larger than his own nose so he would feel insecure.
- 48:38Speaker 2: I mean, that is a great prank. Though it is good.
- 48:42Speaker 2: I hope that they did it like it was normal
- 48:45Speaker 2: the first day and then they just kept getting there. Figure,
- 48:48Speaker 2: that's what I want to believe happened in my heart.
- 48:52Speaker 4: Oh that's good. And then he went full Jason Siegel
- 48:56Speaker 4: and pop Star and never stopping with that prosthetic nose,
- 48:59Speaker 4: which was fun so great.
- 49:01Speaker 2: God, it so funny. I just thought, that's that's such
- 49:04Speaker 2: a good bit. Bill Hayter's long hair in the movie
- 49:08Speaker 2: was not a wig. Instead, he had hair extensions put
- 49:10Speaker 2: in which he wore through the entire summer the movie
- 49:14Speaker 2: was shot, so he just walked around looking like that.
- 49:18Speaker 2: I love it's such a goofball. That sounds fun. I
- 49:20Speaker 2: love that. Uh. The scene involving Rod ringing the bell
- 49:25Speaker 2: over the pool followed by the other guys singing along
- 49:28Speaker 2: to it, the harmonizing, that was all completely improvised if
- 49:32Speaker 2: you couldn't tell, so yeah right, I mean, it's almost
- 49:36Speaker 2: so weird that how could it be improvised? But also
- 49:38Speaker 2: it makes sense, so it was so weird to go
- 49:41Speaker 2: either way on that one. I guess The band called
- 49:45Speaker 2: Gown that plays at Rod's final jump is actually the
- 49:47Speaker 2: Queens of the Stone Age, which is fun.
- 49:49Speaker 4: That makes a lot of sense. When when they were singing,
- 49:52Speaker 4: I was just like, these guys are really good.
- 49:55Speaker 2: That's pretty good. What's happening?
- 49:57Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I was expecting it. I was expecting
- 50:00Speaker 4: it to be more like I think that was called
- 50:03Speaker 4: the Dan Band like in Old School and a couple
- 50:10Speaker 4: other ones. But I thought it was going to be
- 50:12Speaker 4: like a goof and then I was like, oh, no,
- 50:14Speaker 4: they're just really good.
- 50:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 50:18Speaker 6: What if it would have met hoobastank amazing.
- 50:21Speaker 4: Oh, that would have been really good.
- 50:25Speaker 2: The Cool Beans song was originally pulled by Akiva Schaeffer,
- 50:29Speaker 2: but the scene was edited by sam Berg and Tacconi
- 50:32Speaker 2: Uh and Norma Uh and eventually Schaefer reinserted the scene
- 50:37Speaker 2: in the last test screening, where it received high remarks
- 50:39Speaker 2: from the audience and some I'm saying it was their
- 50:41Speaker 2: favorite parts of the field. So he was like, I
- 50:43Speaker 2: guess we got to keep it. Sounds good.
- 50:46Speaker 4: I use it as a gift every once in a while.
- 50:48Speaker 2: It is out of nowhere. It is. It's really crazy
- 50:51Speaker 2: but wonderful. Let's see. Although Pam Brady is credited as
- 50:55Speaker 2: the writer of the film, The Lonely Island, rewrote the
- 50:59Speaker 2: entire script their style, so that's kind of fun, which
- 51:01Speaker 2: you can you.
- 51:02Speaker 4: Can definitely tell they wrote some or improvised.
- 51:05Speaker 2: Yeah, that makes sense as well, they should, right, I mean,
- 51:07Speaker 2: that's makes sense. Rod tumbles down the Hill for forty
- 51:12Speaker 2: seven seconds. So that's fun. We got a time man
- 51:15Speaker 2: that it's perfect. It's perfect, forty seven seconds. It's a
- 51:19Speaker 2: long time. It's really great.
- 51:21Speaker 1: Uh.
- 51:22Speaker 2: Sadberg had his own stunt double, but he performed many
- 51:25Speaker 2: of his own stunts as he was allowed or as
- 51:27Speaker 2: many of his own stunts as he was allowed to. Specifically,
- 51:31Speaker 2: things like the pool jump he did because he just
- 51:33Speaker 2: had to like go off the reps straight into the water. Yeah,
- 51:36Speaker 2: that was fine, don't worries.
- 51:37Speaker 4: And that was like the one of the funniest stunts.
- 51:39Speaker 2: He just stays on time.
- 51:41Speaker 4: Just yep, so good.
- 51:44Speaker 2: Like looking at that, it's just like, well, there's no
- 51:46Speaker 2: way you're making it across the right. Yeah, that's so great.
- 51:51Speaker 2: I do love his bike though, that's a cool little bike.
- 51:53Speaker 2: Motorcycle bike cycle things crazy. Let's see Britney tip lady
- 52:02Speaker 2: who plays Maggie, who is Bill Hayter's sister. I had
- 52:07Speaker 2: a bottle geek left before she got her braces off
- 52:10Speaker 2: in real life, and she was like super excited to
- 52:12Speaker 2: remove them in time for the movie. And then Akiva
- 52:16Speaker 2: jokingly made her film a scene before she got her
- 52:18Speaker 2: braces off, and then they did it later after it.
- 52:22Speaker 2: But again a practical joke of like, well, we have
- 52:26Speaker 2: to do it now, and she's damn it so good.
- 52:30Speaker 2: It might be the only thing I've ever end. Come on,
- 52:35Speaker 2: let's see. Bill Hayter based it off his friend Eric,
- 52:38Speaker 2: of the tripping ball scene. I guess that was all
- 52:41Speaker 2: the ffo I had. It was based off his friend,
- 52:44Speaker 2: and he was he was the Samberg Park, So I
- 52:47Speaker 2: thought that was funny.
- 52:48Speaker 4: I think that's so funny though. But he, you know,
- 52:49Speaker 4: he brought that to the table. Yeah, you know, he
- 52:53Speaker 4: wasn't one of the writers, but that clearly is from
- 52:55Speaker 4: his own life experience.
- 52:56Speaker 1: And.
- 52:58Speaker 2: Yeah, right right crazy. Let's see, they made this movie
- 53:04Speaker 2: between two thousand and five and two thousand and seven
- 53:06Speaker 2: seasons of SNL. The team started rewriting Pam Brady's script
- 53:11Speaker 2: in June of two thousand and six, and the filming
- 53:14Speaker 2: began on July twenty fourth and wrapped on September twenty three.
- 53:18Speaker 2: The team reported back to SNL on September twenty fifth,
- 53:21Speaker 2: So they took like their whole summer vacation, which is
- 53:24Speaker 2: pretty crazy.
- 53:24Speaker 4: Yeah, a lot of those SNL folks would do that.
- 53:27Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's like a thing, which is that's fun
- 53:30Speaker 2: Why not, I get it and let's see. Prior to
- 53:33Speaker 2: the film's released, The Lonely Island promoted the film with
- 53:37Speaker 2: interstitiables during Comedy Central movie marathons. In the promos, the
- 53:42Speaker 2: trio attempted to convince viewers that hot Rod was the
- 53:45Speaker 2: story of a sex offender and he does stunts to
- 53:48Speaker 2: raise money to sex offend. Is what they said, sex
- 53:53Speaker 2: event dumb for their Yeah, I.
- 54:01Speaker 4: Just feel like they're not great with promoting their movies
- 54:05Speaker 4: because I just never see them when they first come out.
- 54:09Speaker 2: You think they're just like, we can't we can't take
- 54:11Speaker 2: ourselves seriously for that, Like we feel dumb. We actually, yeah,
- 54:15Speaker 2: maybe we can do all the things where we look
- 54:17Speaker 2: down and that's fine, but feeling like we actually look them,
- 54:20Speaker 2: we're against something. Yeah, it's so weird, but it is funny.
- 54:25Speaker 2: So yeah, that is not what the movie's about or
- 54:28Speaker 2: got rewritten. I don't know how about will there be
- 54:33Speaker 2: a sequel? Judgment Day judgment A why.
- 54:35Speaker 4: I had a couple of things, Yes, yes, please, it's
- 54:39Speaker 4: all good. One that I thought was funny was Rod
- 54:42Speaker 4: sings that he does his laundry without pants and is
- 54:45Speaker 4: in his underwear.
- 54:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 54:46Speaker 4: He then walks into a room wearing pants. Uh, and
- 54:50Speaker 4: this was an intentional blooper, so it was planned, which
- 54:53Speaker 4: I love.
- 54:54Speaker 2: So funny.
- 54:55Speaker 4: But apparently this movie was originally intended for Will Ferrell. Oh,
- 55:00Speaker 4: he received an executive producer credit The Lonely Island. Rewrote
- 55:04Speaker 4: the script because it couldn't be read without Ferrell in mind,
- 55:08Speaker 4: and Schaeffer didn't want the movie to be an impression
- 55:10Speaker 4: of Farrell, so that was one reason why they made
- 55:13Speaker 4: it their own voice.
- 55:14Speaker 2: It feels like a Wilfare movie like that. Totally see
- 55:18Speaker 2: him doing that. Yep, that's why for sure. Yeah, that's fun.
- 55:22Speaker 4: That was all I had, though, So let's go to judgment.
- 55:28Speaker 4: I sure, hope, So yeah, why not, let's go for it.
- 55:31Speaker 4: I would watch another one. They're all still doing it,
- 55:34Speaker 4: and honestly, we need more Lonely Island stuff because they're
- 55:37Speaker 4: just not doing enough.
- 55:38Speaker 2: But they're splitting up a lot now.
- 55:40Speaker 4: It feels like, I know, they're all doing their own things,
- 55:43Speaker 4: and they're all really funny and great and wonderful, but
- 55:46Speaker 4: we need that magic together again.
- 55:48Speaker 2: I agree.
- 55:49Speaker 4: Hot Rod two would be great.
- 55:51Speaker 2: It would be fun. They're older, hot Rod, yes, to
- 55:54Speaker 2: do it to save his brother the Star Wars. Yeah,
- 55:59Speaker 2: hot rods. Good, they have twins. The twins need a
- 56:02Speaker 2: medical procedure or something. Boom, that's funny. He names them
- 56:08Speaker 2: both Rod or maybe Ova does or Drama does. I
- 56:14Speaker 2: mean he has kids, they're twins. He names them both
- 56:19Speaker 2: Rob both Rot. I love it. It's funny, very silly,
- 56:25Speaker 2: but yeah, serious, Si, what are you thinking for a game?
- 56:29Speaker 2: Because I didn't think about it a second earlier.
- 56:33Speaker 4: I did throw out.
- 56:34Speaker 2: Well look at you smart for.
- 56:37Speaker 4: A last man Stanton. However, not a lot of people replied.
- 56:41Speaker 4: And when I say not a lot of people, I
- 56:43Speaker 4: mean none. It was just our buddy Noel.
- 56:46Speaker 2: Oh okay, well we're doing whatever.
- 56:48Speaker 4: Who's wonderful? Noel is one, but it's Kevin James. There's
- 56:52Speaker 4: like not that many, not that many. But I do
- 56:56Speaker 4: still have a list, oh okay of another patron of ours,
- 57:03Speaker 4: Lorraine Louches. She went through and she wrote down all
- 57:10Speaker 4: of the actors that have been suggested that we didn't use.
- 57:13Speaker 4: That's wild, which is amazing.
- 57:17Speaker 2: I'm sick of talking about this and not just getting
- 57:20Speaker 2: to right.
- 57:21Speaker 4: Yes, so there's quite a few. Now this was an
- 57:26Speaker 4: older list. We have done it a few more times
- 57:28Speaker 4: so I have to look at the other list of
- 57:30Speaker 4: ones that we've done. But out of these that I'm
- 57:35Speaker 4: looking at right now, Colin Ferrell seems like one that
- 57:38Speaker 4: could be doable. Yeah, Edward Norton seems like one that
- 57:44Speaker 4: could be doable. Gene Hackman, George Clooney, Oh wow, Jack Black,
- 57:57Speaker 4: we haven't done Jack Black. Really yeah, I'm just gonna
- 58:02Speaker 4: then double check crazy. So if any of those are
- 58:08Speaker 4: sounding good, but out of those, we haven't done any
- 58:11Speaker 4: of them.
- 58:12Speaker 2: I'm intrigued by Jack Black. I'm gonna be honest with you.
- 58:16Speaker 4: Okay, let's do it.
- 58:18Speaker 2: Do that? What do you alright? Jack Black? Nice? Nice?
- 58:31Speaker 2: Do you want to start? You want me to start?
- 58:35Speaker 4: You can start.
- 58:37Speaker 2: Kung Fu Panda. Oh, Kung Fu Panda two. There might
- 58:42Speaker 2: be a three, but I don't remember Ku.
- 58:45Speaker 4: Kung Fu Panda four.
- 58:46Speaker 2: Oh god, there's four.
- 58:48Speaker 4: There's four of them.
- 58:49Speaker 2: Well, hell, okay, the.
- 58:52Speaker 1: Holiday Holiday Holiday, all right, I'll say raft Movie, good one.
- 59:02Speaker 2: I'll say Super Mario Brothers.
- 59:05Speaker 4: I'll say Super Mario Galaxy.
- 59:09Speaker 2: That's right, that's right, Yeah.
- 59:11Speaker 6: Good one.
- 59:17Speaker 2: Jumanji, Welcome to the Jungle.
- 59:20Speaker 4: Oh, what is the third Jumanji?
- 59:24Speaker 2: The second one?
- 59:25Speaker 4: The Jungle is the first one right, oh yeah, so
- 59:28Speaker 4: I was saying, the first one is Robin Williams and
- 59:31Speaker 4: the second one is that one?
- 59:32Speaker 2: Then what is the.
- 59:37Speaker 4: Yeah, I see what's the one after Welcome to the
- 59:39Speaker 4: Jungle and I don't remember I know it, Okay, go
- 59:43Speaker 4: for it. I have to say what then I will
- 59:47Speaker 4: say A school of rocks.
- 59:48Speaker 2: This is a formality, but still rules must be observed. Uh, Jumanji,
- 59:55Speaker 2: the next level is the next.
- 59:58Speaker 4: That is what it was. And they're making an I
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: know that they've been in production.
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: I don't know what the name of that one is yet,
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: but it's not.
- 1:00:04Speaker 7: Out right no, no, no, okay, let's do the movie
- 1:00:12Speaker 7: that made me fall in love with him high fidelity.
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: It's a good one.
- 1:00:18Speaker 6: I think I just had a different one in my brain.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: And it went away. Uh damn it. I'll never remember
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: the name of it. Move on, move on, Move on,
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: move on. Movie from this last year called Anaconda.
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: Pretty fun, good, pretty fun good call. Oh man, it
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: made me laugh.
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: I really did me too.
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: Um Jack Black, Oh, Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: It's a good one. Uh.
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: Biodome, I just literally after I pressed that, I was like,
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: Biodome we'll say shallow hal once agal, well, that's a
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: good one.
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: I forgot about that one. Noise cable guy he was
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: just in right.
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: He was. Yeah, man, I don't think I would have
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: thought of that one.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: I have two in my pocket. This doesn't always happen.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: I do too. Oh, I know, I'm not usually making
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: such a battle.
- 1:01:25Speaker 6: For sure.
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: Enemy of the state.
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: He's one of the guests. He's in the figure.
- 1:01:34Speaker 4: That was one that you had. It wasn't well, I.
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: Didn't have it written down already. I guess I have
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: two that I think all kind of deep pools. Yeah, uh, well,
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: it's maybe not that deep before, but I want to
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: say it before you will. I'm gonna say anker man,
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: the legend of ron Berg. That's good, bad, bad, punted Baxter.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: What do you love?
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: Oh, I love a nice Scotch Scott h Well and
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: my dog Baxter here.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: I love that. That's really good call. I thought that
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: would write away for some reason, I don't know why.
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: He also has a very very small role in the
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: movie water World.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: Oh does he really? Oh? Yeah, that's right. Yeah, I
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: knew that. I knew that. Yeah, I should have thought
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: of that. I should do uh Okay, now we're getting
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: a little tougher. I feel yeah, the other deep bowl
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: that I had. So I'm just worried that I'm not
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: gonna win by any means. But I'm gonna say Bernie here.
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: Oh, really good one. I did not think that one.
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: Pretty good movie. Weird movie, but pretty good movie. It was.
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: Oh oh, and that made me think of not your libre.
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: Oh good shout. Yeah, of course not oops good one
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: we haven't said. I don't think we've said saving Silverman yet,
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: So I'm gonna.
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: Say that could noney. Okay, There's just so many good
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: Jack Black movies, and I feel like I'm the only
- 1:03:13Speaker 4: ones that I'm thinking of are like pretty deep pulls.
- 1:03:17Speaker 4: I'm not thinking any of the real easy ones, although
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: we have said quite a few. So I'm gonna say
- 1:03:27Speaker 4: I'm going into the deeper cuts. I'm gonna go to
- 1:03:30Speaker 4: goose Bumps.
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: Oh good one. There's a goosebump I never actually saw,
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: you know, there's not a Goosebumps too, I don't think.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: I don't know, so yeah, I never saw Goosebumps either.
- 1:03:42Speaker 6: That's a good one, though, Oh you just thought of
- 1:03:45Speaker 6: another one.
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: I did.
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: Robert, he was in an inline skating movie. It was
- 1:03:52Speaker 2: the first thing I ever saw him in so many
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: years ago. It was on Disney, but I do not
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: remember what the hell it was called, and I'm gonna
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: have to look up.
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: I think I've seen that. Okay, there was.
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: Two inline skating movies at the same time. One was
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: about a guy in a competition and one was like
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: a street race and he was a bad He was
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: on the bad guys like street race team, so he
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: was a bad guy, weird, crazy.
- 1:04:16Speaker 4: Yeah, I've never seen this.
- 1:04:18Speaker 6: That just made me think, is he in that? No,
- 1:04:24Speaker 6: poop boy, There's probably so many more?
- 1:04:30Speaker 4: Uh, I have four, Damn, I think I'm done. One
- 1:04:35Speaker 4: is a really big one that we missed, big one
- 1:04:38Speaker 4: that we missed.
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: Huh.
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: That's the one that I just went.
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: Oh, oh, not the Holiday.
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: No, it's more action adventure epic.
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: Oh, the Gulliver's Travels.
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: One was that the one Gulliver's Travels is one.
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: It wasn't it that? This one?
- 1:04:57Speaker 4: That's not it? Yeah, but that is one, all right?
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: Said one?
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: Yep, And I The only reason I thought of that
- 1:05:04Speaker 4: one was because Emily Blunt apparently was just talking.
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: About how.
- 1:05:09Speaker 4: She was supposed to be in something really awesomely she
- 1:05:14Speaker 4: had she had to do Gulliver's Travels and it would
- 1:05:18Speaker 4: have been really big for her.
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: I can't remember what it was, but I never saw
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: Gulliver's Travels.
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: Actually, that thing is your mic is crazy. Yeah. The
- 1:05:29Speaker 4: big one that I was thinking of was King Kong. Oh,
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: of course by Peter Jackson.
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: Is that skill Islanders just called King Kong.
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: I don't remember it's it was before that. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: and it was just King Kong.
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: Nice dude, that's a super good one.
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: Oh, it's still doing the thing I'm not taking anymore,
- 1:05:49Speaker 4: So I don't know. Oh, maybe it's me.
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: Is it making noise?
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: Yeah, that's the only way I can hear it.
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: I thought I will not completely still forever, stay still bro. Yeah,
- 1:06:06Speaker 2: I don't think it anymore.
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: The there's one that I've always just had in the
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: back of my head. And there's a movie called The
- 1:06:15Speaker 4: Jackal with Bruce Willis, and there's one scene he's like
- 1:06:19Speaker 4: a it's it wasn't very good, sure, but I remember
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: this one scene where he's testing out his like long range,
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: like crazy sniper rifle and he makes Jack Black run
- 1:06:32Speaker 4: and he like is testing it out and so he's
- 1:06:36Speaker 4: like aiming right at it and then you can see
- 1:06:38Speaker 4: it hit, you know.
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: To the right of it.
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: So then he like switches sing it in exactly. So
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: that's a really random one. I still know what you
- 1:06:51Speaker 4: did last summer where he plays that rastafarian about that
- 1:06:56Speaker 4: that goofy one. And then there was another kids movie
- 1:07:02Speaker 4: that I didn't really see.
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: It's right up there with Goosebumps.
- 1:07:05Speaker 4: But it was called The House with a Clock in
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: Its Walls.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: That's it. I don't know that one. Huh.
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: Interesting Now that is why.
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: Should we look at Jack Black? We missed? That was
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: a big one we did.
- 1:07:19Speaker 4: We got a lot of Jack Ree good.
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: I think I think so too. Sometimes we've proven wrong immediately.
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: He's got two hundred and four acting credits.
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: A lot, yeah, I would think a lot of that
- 1:07:34Speaker 4: is some TV eighty seven eighty seven movies.
- 1:07:38Speaker 2: Yeah, and I kind of man. Oh, he's in that
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: Deer Santa movie which I never watched.
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: I didn't either.
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: He's in border Lands, which I never watched. Oh.
- 1:07:48Speaker 4: I did see that on a plane and.
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: It was okay at best.
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I made a noise, but I don't know if
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: you can hear it.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: No.
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: I couldn't hear it.
- 1:07:57Speaker 4: Yep, I made a two D noise.
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: Gotchah was in the Weird Al Story, which I never watched.
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: Jim Gee. Oh, it was funny because when I said Bernie,
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: I was thinking of there was something with PoCA, but
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: I didn't know if it was the same movie. But
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: he was in that Poka King movie which was separate.
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: Apparently I never saw that. I did. It was very strange,
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: something called the d Train.
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: Tenacious d.
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: Oh. He was in sex tape that Cameron. Oh yeah, dude,
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: he is the owner of.
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I never saw that. Actually, all the Big Year,
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: I definitely saw that. To that movie shoked for all
- 1:08:54Speaker 4: those birders.
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: Yeah, uh oh, Troffic Thunder, that's probably the biggest one.
- 1:09:01Speaker 4: That's a big that we should have both had that.
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: That's embarrassing actually, and then he's Paul McCartney apparently in
- 1:09:07Speaker 4: Walk Hard. In Walk Hard, Dewey Cox Paul Rudd was
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: in there too, and yeah, that's funny.
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: Shark Tale.
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: Oh, Year one, Orange County. I'm not looking at it.
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: But County we should have definitely County one. I definitely
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: watched Nice Good Call. I was just about to get
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: to those two saving Field. I said that Cradle Will Rock.
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: Apparently he was in I still know Johnny skid Marks,
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: very high brow never never U Biodome dead Man Walking.
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: Oh I don't know that. Yeah, I don't know that movie.
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: Airborne is what Sean Penn Airborne is what that other
- 1:09:52Speaker 2: thing is called?
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: Nice?
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: That was his third movie, no, second full feature, and
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: Bob Roberts was his very first movie. Whatever the hell
