- 0:46Mark, McManus here we are today talking about one of our
- 0:50favorites. Death to the Daleks and unusual
- 0:53toys twist. Sorry, did you get all of the
- 0:59vhss as we're now as a kid? I did.
- 1:04Yeah. Well, there's a kid and into
- 1:05adulthood. Yeah, quotient.
- 1:08We watch 15. Yeah.
- 1:10So does it not irritate? You know end, then the the kids
- 1:13today can get it all 599 on brick box.
- 1:16Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:17It does. Yeah.
- 1:19You know what, they don't know, the, you know, that delayed
- 1:22gratification today for waiting. Yeah, there is something to
- 1:27that. Isn't a of waiting, another mom
- 1:30for another one. I don't know.
- 1:32They came out every single month now towards the end, they were
- 1:37they were to a month, I think. I Remember by the time I was at
- 1:42University, I was having to yes kind of really budget for them.
- 1:46I am. I remember invasion of the
- 1:48dinosaurs was the very last one could believe it.
- 1:53Yeah. I think it was the last VHS.
- 1:54I think there's one of the last DVDs as well.
- 1:57The, I really like that bad. Yeah.
- 2:01The last one I got and watched was the time, monster
- 2:09understandable. There was absolutely ages where
- 2:12I hadn't seen the time monster in Attack of the Cybermen, which
- 2:15obviously, To really terrible reputations as well and I kind
- 2:20of didn't want there to be non that I hadn't seen.
- 2:23So I only watched the time monster for the first time a
- 2:27week before Rose was broadcast. That's why I finally finally
- 2:33finished off the all existing episodes of the original series,
- 2:37and then a week later watch Rose.
- 2:38Yeah. Do you remember when they
- 2:40started grouping together? Like the really lamentable
- 2:43stories in box sets to trying like, Myths and legends time.
- 2:47Monster horns. And I'm on.
- 2:49And I'm underwhelmed. Yeah, yeah.
- 2:54Well no one's going to buy them all together.
- 2:59Yeah Earth story as well. Wasn't it?
- 3:05Yes, Tegan tiles. You can sells chameleon well.
- 3:16I'm pleased. I built that collection of
- 3:19slowly because I have a huge love for it in a way that I
- 3:23never could binge watching the whole lot of brick box or the
- 3:27Twitter. Yeah, you know, I think they're
- 3:29all amazing thing. I am pleased this out there for
- 3:32anybody now, but like, you know, getting one of those because I
- 3:36had a dealer, I'm in Scotland is name is Darren.
- 3:39I've just found it on Twitter. Again, I'll tell you.
- 3:41When you do, I'll send you 20 quid and you were sending me.
- 3:43Those VHS is, I like Whatever Seventh Generation seeds of
- 3:48death. The little like, it was filmed
- 3:51in an Arctic Storm. Yeah, these are the people used
- 3:54to get in for Australia as well, didn't they?
- 3:57Yeah. I never had any of those.
- 3:58I had an aunt who had UK gold that would record some of them
- 4:01for me. When I saw I'd give us some
- 4:03blank tapes but yeah it really hits a miss.
- 4:08That was mid nineties, wasn't it?
- 4:09Or mid to late 90s. I remember, I used to watch
- 4:12those UK gold ones. They were like my hangover TV.
- 4:15Yeah. Fry of the nation of the
- 4:17dinosaurs or whatever was screening, you know, oh, field
- 4:21for hangovers. But yeah, I used to beg my mom
- 4:24to get Sky because these things on you, Cagle, High juvenile.
- 4:28I'm sorry, I'm gonna complete the diversion that you would
- 4:30that be S be weekend that they did.
- 4:33Ya reading about it and being desperately jealous.
- 4:36Yeah, we had, we had the SP so eyelid tape and I, but I like,
- 4:41literally, you know, Long play tapes?
- 4:44Yeah, short, they recording I was very filling these bloody
- 4:47things up. Yeah, if it was a different
- 4:50time, welcome but buying them all for the third time.
- 4:55So I haven't bought all the VHS has bought all the DVDs know
- 4:59buying them on Blu-ray. Don't even convince yourself.
- 5:01This is the last time you're going to buy these things.
- 5:03All right? There will be some New Media
- 5:05that's created you know virtual reality Doctor Who, You Know, by
- 5:11definitely becoming the helmet. Yeah. well, we're gonna watch it
- 5:16on humble DVD stroke brick box if you want to really get into
- 5:20episode 3, Best of it in 3, 2 1. Can I tell you a story about my
- 5:31overall health? Mmm.
- 5:33Okay. So I was at the Utopia
- 5:35convention last year, right? You might you've heard this
- 5:37already because I did it in your trap one episode and it was at
- 5:41the end of one of those talks but we wanted to go early and so
- 5:47he's he gets up out of his chair and he's trying to discreetly
- 5:51walk out of a room that was packed full of people while
- 5:55someone's talking on stage. Yeah, and I am Never ever in my
- 5:59life, seen anyone who looked more like the wow, is that a has
- 6:03what I limp and you tear it out of the room?
- 6:06It was the funniest thing I've ever seen.
- 6:09They are fell in love, you know and it all started back earlier.
- 6:16And here he is right now. I love Bilal, he's the way that
- 6:21they, they cast somebody who was so small as well, adds to the,
- 6:28you know, the usual list and the alienness.
- 6:30The fact that Arthur yarol that Arnold sorry, I will the arrow
- 6:34but plays him when he saw the eyes.
- 6:36He thought it looked like a bush baby.
- 6:39So, I went to the zoo and looked at how they move like that.
- 6:42That is commitment for somebody in an alien costume, isn't it?
- 6:46Oh, He's doing body movement and all sorts, isn't he?
- 6:49Like he's really thinking that through.
- 6:51Let's talk, wasn't it? They say in the document, it was
- 6:53talk of him, potentially being a companion.
- 6:56Yeah. How about of works and planet of
- 6:59spiders? You know, it was been
- 7:02fascinating when they're, I mean, I think it's the next
- 7:05story monster of propeller done so that could have worked
- 7:08because he's owed him a lot from bacon, egg sauce.
- 7:11Yeah. So you cause you've got loads of
- 7:14different aliens from different civilizations there.
- 7:16It would have work there in your honor that if had to sort of,
- 7:20like, put a big coat on him and a hat or something.
- 7:22And yeah, it would have been, it would have been interesting and
- 7:26you could have, you know, said something there about You know,
- 7:30kind of well, they do here with Sir, James reaction, don't know
- 7:34the way. She's she's initially quite sort
- 7:36of fearful of him because he's so different, but I watch
- 7:40somebody doing, you know, these YouTube watch alongs where they
- 7:46feel themselves, reacting to Doctor Who.
- 7:48And so, I was watching a fairly up-to-date reaction to this, and
- 7:52the woman was just beguiled by him.
- 7:54You know, that's quite a ghoulish looking costume.
- 7:58He's it In the fairies are. So it is all down to the
- 8:01performance because it could very easily have been menacing
- 8:05and he played it. Yeah, I think I think to make
- 8:08such a friendly alien Lookers, you know kind of sinister as he
- 8:13does because it's quite a school like face in a way.
- 8:18You know I always say to my other off I was go that way
- 8:21leads to death. I'll look at the Daleks in the
- 8:26Half Light. Like they I think I look very
- 8:31stylish this lion. They do they look great and then
- 8:37it goes. The other thing about the last
- 8:38costume is the front. Axial projection.
- 8:41Is it bicycle reflectors? Yeah.
- 8:45So the bridge which you see on the walls of the city and stuff
- 8:49as well. I think that's what the is that
- 8:51what they use for the, for the born, our in silver Nemesis as
- 8:54well? I think, I think so.
- 8:55Yeah. And they certainly the city
- 8:57later. Don't like the walls.
- 8:58Yeah. I'm still the knows they've got
- 9:00the lighting rig out this way, even in daylight, it sort of
- 9:03very many things to make it look like.
- 9:04It's, it's glowing like that. We talked about on the making of
- 9:09how they got the idea for just driving home and thinking about
- 9:13it and seeing a road sign just, you know, light up in the in the
- 9:17car headlights. Thought that work, the green
- 9:20death, isn't that the same sort of thing as well?
- 9:23Yeah, I think so. Yeah, yeah.
- 9:27They say the root attack in the Dalek.
- 9:31But the doctors are going a palpable hits.
- 9:33Yeah. Yeah, good shot sir.
- 9:39They are very charming and seasons and the leopard is a
- 9:46stark contrast from seven and eight.
- 9:48Yeah, yeah. Definitely' is B in the demons.
- 9:51Where is it? Is it the demons where he has to
- 9:55go at the Brigadier and then just for something to the
- 9:57Brigadier and he goes steady on draw?
- 10:00That's York Monday. Was it?
- 10:02You could at least show a bit of respect?
- 10:04Yeah, when he hasn't done it himself.
- 10:08Oh my God. This is harking.
- 10:10Back to the Chase. Isn't it?
- 10:11That bit where Ian comes around the corner with the dark?
- 10:13Well, they acts that when I get it.
- 10:15Yeah. Oh, I love the doctors line in a
- 10:19minute. Sarah, who are you shining
- 10:21friends? Yeah.
- 10:25But okay, so, but I've got a serious question for you and
- 10:27that is, is this where this like narratively?
- 10:31Is this where the story goes off the rails?
- 10:34Because halfway, through this episode we then head to the city
- 10:37and we're doing bloody maze is on the wall.
- 10:41Yeah. It starts to run out of steam a
- 10:44little bit, doesn't it? Because what would interesting
- 10:46that originally the story. Have the Daleks and then it was
- 10:49about the city and the Excellence and everything.
- 10:52Oh, really? Oh yeah.
- 10:55So I guess they I mean, they will probably have got to that
- 10:57sooner without the referral with the Daleks.
- 11:00I might have been more of it so because you can be we can be
- 11:03grateful for that at least. But what's kind of annoying is
- 11:08the idea of the living City with antibodies that can repel people
- 11:12inside and test to go through? Those are interesting ideas.
- 11:17The idea of the Daleks being without power and being without
- 11:21weapons having to think on their feet.
- 11:23That's a really interesting ideas.
- 11:25Yeah, it doesn't quite come together.
- 11:28Does it know? And and yeah, and having to work
- 11:31with you, man gu could have got, yeah, quite a bit of mileage out
- 11:34of that. I think there's the curse of
- 11:37davros, there's a Andreas, not what I'm thinking of there's one
- 11:43with, with Colin Baker's doctor and Terry Malloy is davros where
- 11:46they have to work together in a lab.
- 11:50Davros, that's cool. Just that Rose.
- 11:52Is that what? That's, that's the one where?
- 11:55Yeah, yeah. They're all right.
- 11:57Yeah, you got to talking Scientific Advisor.
- 11:59It's got burned horse forward when deep a breather, but it
- 12:02holds like this. Businessman, who's funding all
- 12:05the work? Yeah, yeah.
- 12:09I didn't think it was that won't be a vote for.
- 12:10I've had it for ages, but yeah, they're trying to sort of outdo
- 12:13each other by turning up earlier.
- 12:14And, oh yeah. Is that what?
- 12:16Yeah, it's terrific. But yeah, it's the same sort of
- 12:19thing. The doctor haven't worked out
- 12:21for us, the Daleks having to work with humans and the doctor.
- 12:25They, they could have got ya, a lot more out of it than they do.
- 12:28It actually could have been quite funny and yeah especially
- 12:33the Daleks of loudly plotting away like right next to them and
- 12:36stuff. Yeah, I think scene to scene
- 12:39because the direction is so good because there's a lot of action
- 12:42in it, you know, it kind of like rattles along.
- 12:44Anyway, despite the first has run out of steam a little bit.
- 12:48And these great big Vistas like that, we just got of the whole
- 12:53Quarry. I gotta say one thing to you,
- 12:57duh. I think I can see several sons
- 13:06in the distance. Yeah, I'm going to show you a
- 13:10film that Nicole Kyle that they went abroad, it made a film.
- 13:12That June is, yeah, they found that engine is here.
- 13:16I think that may have been a bit out of death.
- 13:17To the does dialects budget though, you know?
- 13:20Yeah, it's just very just about, but they don't need it, you
- 13:22know, it's got this. We see the tracks Mark?
- 13:26I think it is right. Why I think this is a he's
- 13:32caught up this three. So Daleks have a little bit of a
- 13:34conference and you can see the real way that they move around
- 13:38on me as long as the shooting like this, just halfway up the
- 13:42skirt. Yeah, it looks terrific and and
- 13:45the way that they're moving around, while he's on the
- 13:47conversation with Galloway as well.
- 13:50I believe that really works. We may have had Patty Russell
- 13:52directionless, you know, because she was approached.
- 13:55Obviously she got invasion of the dinosaurs but she literally
- 13:57said Sperry, let's I'm not going to direct any tin Pepper Potts.
- 14:02So it's partly Brian would probably would have made a nice
- 14:06job of invasion of the dinosaurs as well.
- 14:10You know, when all the way down the hill, there was very clearly
- 14:12on the track was that like yeah, slid down the hill, This is
- 14:18great as well. I think they chose this bit of
- 14:21water as well, because of the unusual color of it, makes it
- 14:25makes it look quite Alien. Come on, my mark, your, I'd lie.
- 14:29Lydell, all these lies. Honestly, this planet is now on
- 14:35the Dalek control. Oh yes, I love the don't forget
- 14:41the missing but the buttons on the Dalek ship they're just
- 14:46great big primary colors. Look at size buttons.
- 14:51Yeah, he rolling remembers. The Darlings actually made a
- 14:56meal out of that. I'd have the sucker shaped thing
- 14:59but it could insert into. Yeah.
- 15:02The sucker. It is amazing.
- 15:04That's quite Star Wars inspired as well, isn't it?
- 15:06It's like a 2d to being able to just sort of Plug into different
- 15:09ports and things of that stuff. And but this is pretty Star
- 15:12Wars, isn't it? This?
- 15:14Yeah, this is, yeah, this is 74, isn't it?
- 15:17So still, it's still a few years away.
- 15:19Maybe you're right. Then, you know, maybe they still
- 15:22has passed. I was a Dallas.
- 15:24Just, did you just watch Doctor Who?
- 15:27I don't know if she's ever admitted it, but I think he must
- 15:32have done Sunday night. I Ridley Scott was watching
- 15:35Arkin space. Yeah.
- 15:38Well, there's that story that Ridley Scott was working in the
- 15:42special effects Department in the sixties, and it was like
- 15:4750/50, whether it was him or Raymond Cusack, they've got to
- 15:50design. The Daleks wasn't it.
- 15:52I'll really - I might be misremembering.
- 15:54This is ringing a bell, you know.
- 15:56Yeah. Yeah, that's that.
- 15:58Yeah. Like if you're just been his
- 15:59turn, you know, on rotation kind of thing, it would have been
- 16:03really Scott. This own sure.
- 16:05Could've been something completely different.
- 16:07It probably why you seen the original sketches with?
- 16:10Yeah? Calipers.
- 16:12That they had terrible. Have you ever heard the Nick
- 16:18Briggs? Audio Adventure is written one
- 16:20or two? You know, the Excellence.
- 16:24No, I haven't heard that one. Don't bother it's terrible.
- 16:29It's basically but you know he actually has the nerve him City
- 16:32Schools himself. I think I know Alyce lock
- 16:35schools it but they actually use the same instruments as Caribe
- 16:39lion bro. So it's all very authentic to
- 16:44this but is basically this Right before I think Kerry blatant
- 16:52nephew of Enid. Blyton is he really?
- 16:56Yeah. Well, according to Michael Lee
- 17:00Bryant autobiography. Anyway, Barry Letts says he
- 17:05doesn't line carry blind, but we all know that's who he's talking
- 17:08about that. He did not like his music and
- 17:13carry button kept asking him. Like I want, you know, will you
- 17:17hire me again? And one day I had to turn around
- 17:19him and say that I'm really sorry, but I don't like what you
- 17:22produce. I won't use you.
- 17:24I do that. I was I like Barry lettuces
- 17:26honesty and integrity. There was a there was a bit
- 17:31there, we could slogan, see the track that?
- 17:34I love this scene, the they, they sell it.
- 17:38I mean it's probably is how cumbersome the costumes are but
- 17:41how difficult their finding it to get out of the water.
- 17:44And then there's the one, the one that's trapped, like he's
- 17:47sort of sinking or something, always puts trapped.
- 17:51And the scale of the scale of How High that goes, and the data
- 17:56being really in it. It's just the why I say
- 17:58anything. But who cares?
- 17:59Yeah, look at that every shot, but this was, again, you sort of
- 18:05see the making of stuff. They had to use thicker piano
- 18:08wire than they originally intended.
- 18:10Because they, you know, when they when they trialled it,
- 18:13they're like, yeah, that can lift it when they did it on
- 18:15location. It was full of water.
- 18:16It's heavier. So they had to use a thicker.
- 18:21Why are which then, you know, reflected the sunlight reflects
- 18:24off it? But I like the fact that once it
- 18:30once it blows up the garlic in it slides into the water, like
- 18:34it's very satisfied with its meal, you know?
- 18:36Like yeah, like, it's like an anaconda or something.
- 18:40Yeah. Like going back into the, the
- 18:42Amazon or something. Look at these darling.
- 18:44So, looking at each other. Yeah, we underestimated.
- 18:48That didn't. I think that's that's it's great
- 18:53that I think it's again, if it wasn't for the wire just
- 18:56something really, really cinematic about that but but
- 19:00it's a lot of unusual imagery again.
- 19:02Is it the Exxon on fire? In the water?
- 19:05The dialect coming down the bank and floating in the water.
- 19:10He's yeah, he's feeling this story full of memorable imagery.
- 19:16Now who did it? Bear pyramids are miles or death
- 19:19to the Daleks symbols on the wall.
- 19:23It's funny, isn't it? And you get your ties into the
- 19:25Robert Holmes, you know, kind of cutting his teeth.
- 19:28The script editor on this one that, you know, that there is
- 19:32one of the things that will come back to this because it is so
- 19:34Jen Smith even says this reminds me of the city, the Excellence,
- 19:39bloody nerve saying that it doesn't even go inside it.
- 19:46It must be that the doctors told her about it.
- 19:50You know, thinking about it. You know, all the scenes coming
- 19:53up between the doctrine, Bulow. They do have a lovely chemistry.
- 19:56It yeah, it could have been quite interesting.
- 20:01I think Arnold arrows, just turned 100, you know.
- 20:05Wow, yeah. Yeah, cuz he was somebody's
- 20:10voice. So we've got to get, he came
- 20:12back and played, not Bilal, but another, a lie, and I think for
- 20:17big finish, I think it was neat. Doctor wonder that.
- 20:19I need to look it up to it was but he just played very
- 20:22similarly to the LOL in terms of his intonations and things.
- 20:26But yeah, he's 200. Now that kind of been that long
- 20:28ago and it's been You must have been a good age, whatever you
- 20:33are. Told what happened to Joe
- 20:34Terror? This story.
- 20:36She get away at the end. Yeah, pretty sure she does.
- 20:39Yeah, we gave more lovely POV shots.
- 20:44Okay, I've got a, I've got a Dalek feed question for you then
- 20:47because realistically, this probably isn't the best Dalek
- 20:54story even though we have a massive films for it.
- 20:58So if look what would like your Top 3.x stories be across the
- 21:04entirety classic and new as a toughie.
- 21:08Yeah, it is, isn't it? I've got so remembrance.
- 21:11Okay. Ya, go yessss Genesis, this
- 21:19high. But a denial of power that I can
- 21:22devote. The Daleks, how is he not Opry
- 21:25easily? Yeah.
- 21:28And and even yeah, maybe, maybe those three actually, maybe they
- 21:31would just push Genesis in the first place to me.
- 21:34But you know how conniving they are in power of the Daleks and
- 21:38like, that's how good this could have been, you know?
- 21:41Yeah. Plotting behind the scenes.
- 21:45I'm not real lives if he is the city of the Exelon.
- 21:48Has become a still picture. Flashing Beacon.
- 21:52Oh, hello! This is that serious?
- 21:55This. Yeah, this is the yeah I think
- 21:59it is. It's weird because it's two
- 22:02stories in, but it suggests a real intimacy between the pair
- 22:06of. Mm-hmm.
- 22:08When she says, they just don't want to be lumbered with me
- 22:11this, I hadn't really thought about it until now.
- 22:14But yeah, he's constantly trying to ditcher or well, not ditcher
- 22:17but he's trying to avoid putting here in dangerous situations as
- 22:19well as other than when he just wanders off at the start.
- 22:23And I think it must be kind of do.
- 22:29Yeah. You know, and then he tries to
- 22:32get himself murdered about four times between then and the end
- 22:35of planets, remember that security alarm goes off.
- 22:38Yeah, but you have reaction in that same as well.
- 22:42It's fantastic. When he when he's always opened
- 22:45and she's crying. That's a reservoirs.
- 22:50Isn't it? Where I guess you thought I was
- 22:52dead, didn't you? Yeah, you're always.
- 22:56Here we go. This, this V comes back, doesn't
- 22:58he? It's a very human Joe come back
- 23:03to go off with the Marine sort of thing.
- 23:05And yeah, let's say cups of face, you would absolutely
- 23:08believe that one of them was leaving.
- 23:10I think, given the the time put into that scene Normally take
- 23:18time to think about that as well.
- 23:20If it's splitting up and going to do something dangerous, he
- 23:22doesn't take the time to think who, hang on.
- 23:24If I die, you won't be able to fly the Tardis.
- 23:27You better go with these lot, and I'll take you back to Earth.
- 23:32I think that's what's happening in Impossible Planet.
- 23:34It's a near the end where Rose is going to go off with ya.
- 23:39The doctors cough. Yeah we don't do it very often.
- 23:42It did you notice the city they were shot on film rather than
- 23:46yeah? And I forgot.
- 23:49Okay, here we go guys puzzle. Our yeah, you know what?
- 23:55One of the puzzles is so simple. It's like which symbol does not
- 23:59conform. Oh yeah, that well.
- 24:01So so it's the maze to be fair, isn't it?
- 24:03It's, it's like those things you get on placemats in like kids
- 24:09when a kid goes to a restaurant and the placemats got the here,
- 24:13got the Maison. It if you hadn't have got that
- 24:16right. Yeah.
- 24:18Yeah. There's a lot of bloody
- 24:19skeletons in the room. That's a cliffhanger that style,
- 24:45that's also fine. That was going to be my out
- 24:48question, I'm going to ask you now.
- 24:51That's the lamest. Good Fargo we have ever had, I
- 24:57think it probably is Jason Miller will tell you about.
- 25:02He does a presentation at conventions about Cliffhangers
- 25:06because they I think they cut some of the, the 45-minute,
- 25:11like, Colin Baker episodes into 25 minute episodes in America.
- 25:17So So there's some really crazy ones like the two doctors.
- 25:20I think you said there's one where they just sort of see the
- 25:23Villa Point to it, or the Hacienda or whatever, and then
- 25:26it just crashes into titles and stuff.
- 25:29So, there's some very randomly edited ones in America in the
- 25:32five doctors. There's, I know there's a
- 25:35cliffhanger when they cut it up for Australia, which is where
- 25:39the master comes down the stairs, right?
- 25:42Of rats, Sinister music, you know, I've never seen that car
- 25:50everywhere. But I think that's one thing
- 25:53that Salvage is a cliffhanger. The the floor one is there is
- 25:57sudden so yeah it's almost like your brain doesn't have that too
- 26:01long to think but then in the next episode then when we go
- 26:03into playing hopscotch it's like okay.
- 26:06All right. Yeah therefore something up a
- 26:09bit more cerebral a bit more. Yeah because even if the doctor
- 26:13had slightly stepped on it and the lightning you come down or
- 26:15something like that. You know.
- 26:16Can oh I love that bit when the dollar goes over it though.
- 26:19Yeah. Terrible headache.
- 26:21Doesn't he? I don't understand.
- 26:25It's certainly a pattern on the wall.
- 26:27Yes. It's gonna be great Voice work.
- 26:31Yeah. We simply add to these
- 26:34decorations cop to the skeleton. Yeah, like you could probably
- 26:39keep trying it again if he said earlier and you know I you know
- 26:44what, there's a big hint as to how the story is stuttering
- 26:49because daddy Simpson now is wall-to-wall, music to add
- 26:53tension to these saying, so and the Daleks are coming.
- 26:56It's like constant music. When you when you see the next
- 27:01to each other, he really is significantly shorter than
- 27:05Pertwee as me. It really does make him seem
- 27:08like like a different species as it died along with the costume
- 27:12and the movement and everything else.
- 27:14So was Joe Grant and Sarah Jane Smith though.
- 27:16That's true. That's true.
- 27:18A polling for a Daleks are doing the simple thing, not the
- 27:23highest point in their career, they shy away from showing them
- 27:27doing the maze. We literally watch it.
- 27:35Here we go. Yes, you've got it?
- 27:38Yeah, cries okay. Well you've got very bored with
- 27:43this script only, huh. Because the other thing about
- 27:46this story is that it was during the making of this one that part
- 27:49we decided to leave, wasn't it? I was just when it was
- 27:53announced. No, this is this is when he
- 27:55decided that. Well that's it's one of these
- 28:01things that people are Speculate about what, what the exact
- 28:05moment was when you decided what to do anymore.
- 28:09The time I was on when Lemoore condemning the Brigadier for
- 28:12blowing up aliens and a great moral dilemma.
- 28:15And now I'm tracing a bloody maze on the wall.
- 28:17Yeah. I think I think it was in the
- 28:21air because of Katie Manning leaving and Roger, Delgado, with
- 28:24died, and let some dicks already announced that they won't stay
- 28:29and be on there. So it's probably just sort of on
- 28:31his mind. Anyway but this was only
- 28:33actually made the decision and told them that you know it
- 28:36wasn't gonna be in the next series.
- 28:38You know what's disappointing here as well is that after some
- 28:43terrific design work? These are very drab sets that
- 28:47they are wanted although later on right when this he puts in
- 28:51like the virus and all the doors are going working.
- 28:59There we go. Oh my God.
- 29:04But hang on. What's that supposed to be?
- 29:08No, I think he has been missing the complete history.
- 29:12The episode either overrun or under run or something like
- 29:15that. So the debates answer, just the
- 29:18usual patterning, I'm gonna guess where I think the
- 29:21Cliffhanger was going to because I think I know what it is, the
- 29:24bit where the Daleks come around the corner and we don't know
- 29:28that they've gone into the city. And there's a close up on the
- 29:30gun down. Bobby there.
- 29:34I bet that was supposed to be the Cliffhanger.
- 29:36It's either something like that or something with the the
- 29:41antibodies. I think, from what I read I
- 29:45can't remember. Now the antibodies as 10 minutes
- 29:4815 minutes into episode for ya. You know I may be going to bring
- 29:52them in sooner or as a lot of chat.
- 29:54Now I read about this in the in the complete history any manners
- 29:57but they had terrible trouble. Didn't they?
- 29:58Like play a spider's shifts around the Cliffhanger Up,
- 30:02carnival is amazing. Well, I don't think the hand
- 30:05picking up. The Tardis in carnival muscles
- 30:07were supposed to be the cliff there.
- 30:09I mean, that's fortuitous because it's bloody brilliant.
- 30:11It's brilliant. Yeah.
- 30:13And then there's the bit in Planet spiders episodes 5 to 6,
- 30:19where is all recap in episode 6. So we don't even start where the
- 30:25Cliffhanger out is and the Cliffhanger hits five minutes
- 30:28into episode 6. Yeah.
- 30:32Yeah, it's weird that they were making it up as I go along.
- 30:35I'm telling ya. Ya, boom.
