- 2:44news, Governor Moraheeley has signed a bill into
- 2:48law that allows her administration to seize Norwood
- 2:51Hospital through eminent domain. after more than
- 2:54six years of vacancy. Effective November 1st,
- 2:58this law permits the State Division of Capital
- 3:01Asset Management and Maintenance to take the
- 3:0311 -acre property from Medical Properties Trust,
- 3:07Incorporated, an Alabama -based real estate investment
- 3:10trust. The property may then be transferred or
- 3:13leased to a qualified nonprofit entity for health
- 3:16care purposes, potentially completing the stalled
- 3:19construction of the unfinished hospital. Healy
- 3:22emphasized the urgent need for a reasonable agreement
- 3:25to rebuild the hospital, citing the community's
- 3:28struggles since the facility's closure in June

- 3:42face suspension after the Women's National Basketball
- 3:44Association rescinded her eighth technical foul
- 3:47of the season. according to Kareem Copeland of

- 3:54foul during a game against the Chicago Sky on
- 3:57Saturday. The Indiana Fever appealed the decision
- 4:01as head coach Stephanie White confirmed to reporters.
- 4:05Had the suspension occurred, Clark would have
- 4:07missed an upcoming game against the New York
- 4:09Liberty on Tuesday. She received the technical
- 4:13after making contact with an official while stepping
- 4:16out of bounds. Clark's seven technical falls
- 4:19are the most in the league this year. The three
- 4:23-time All -Star is averaging 21 .5 points and
- 4:268 .0 assists per game this season. In local sports,
- 4:32the Red Sox dropped the rubber match to the Athletics
- 4:354 -3 at Fenway yesterday, snapping a stretch
- 4:39where they had won eight of their last ten. They
- 4:42sit at 64 -53 on the season. Eli White went three
- 4:47for four with an RBI, but the bullpen could not
- 4:50hold it late. The bright side? Inter manager
- 4:54Chad Tracy is now the favorite for American League
- 4:57Manager of the Year, according to USA Today's
- 5:01Bob Nightingale, after steering Boston from the
- 5:04AL basement into a wild -card spot behind a 15
- 5:08-game winning streak. Boston opens a four -game
- 5:12set at Toronto tonight at 7 -0 -7. Sunny Gray
- 5:16on the mound against Jameson Talon, looking to
- 5:19keep pace in a crowded race. Over on Causeway
- 5:23Street, the Bruins made their biggest off -season
- 5:26move at the draft, landing winger J .J. Padurka
- 5:29from Utah for two first -round picks. The 24
- 5:34-year -old scored 25 goals last season and should
- 5:37pair nicely with David Pasternak. Meanwhile,
- 5:41the Patriots have a big decision looming. Owner
- 5:44Robert Kraft says the team is ready to make Christian
- 5:47Gonzalez the highest paid cornerback in NFL history.
- 5:53New England opens preseason Thursday at Gillette
- 5:56against the Colts. In top news, crews are battling
- 6:02wildfires in the western United States and Canada.
- 6:07Evacuation orders are in place across parts of
- 6:09the western United States and southwest Canada.
- 6:13as extremely hot and dry conditions fuel the
- 6:16spread of wildfires in the region. The National
- 6:19Interigency Fire Center reported 183 new fires,
- 6:24including eight large ones, since Saturday. More
- 6:28than 30 ,000 personnel with over 640 crews are
- 6:32assigned to the fires. In Utah, close to a dozen
- 6:35active wildfires have scorched more than 300
- 6:38,000 acres. Tragically, Two pilots died battling
- 6:43the wide mouth to fire in Fish Lake National
- 6:46Forest. A state of emergency has been declared
- 6:49in British Columbia, prompting more than 20 ,000
- 6:53evacuations. In business news, the number of
- 6:58stocks beating the standard in poor's 500 is
- 7:01the highest in four years. There is reason to
- 7:05believe that this number should rise. Investor
- 7:08focus turns to key consumer and wholesale inflation
- 7:11data due this week, as the pace of earnings reports
- 7:14slows. A deeper look into the stock market's
- 7:18rally to record highs shows that the market of
- 7:20stocks is doing much better than it appears on
- 7:23the surface. Earlier this year, there was concern
- 7:26that the market's rally was too narrow, driven
- 7:29by a small number of mega -capitalization technology
- 7:33companies. However, that has changed. The more
- 7:37stocks participating in the rally, the merrier.
- 7:41In crypto movement, Bitcoin is up 1 % over the
- 7:45weekend to $65 ,000. Ethereum is up 1 % to just

- 8:44now, back to the show. Let's talk tech. Scientists
- 8:50have finally created what might be the only thing
- 8:53that can get methads to eat their veggies, protein
- 8:56lettuce. By inserting pig genes into the chloroplasts
- 9:00of lettuce and tobacco cells, Researchers grew
- 9:03produce containing the animal protein myoglobin.
- 9:06They report in a new study. This could pave the
- 9:10way to reducing environmentally destructive meat
- 9:12consumption. Study lead author, Alexey Grof,
- 9:16stated, The lettuce and tobacco plants yielded
- 9:25about 800 milligrams and 810 milligrams of myoglobin
- 9:29protein per kilogram of their dry weight. Researchers
- 9:33are optimistic, but caution that safety and sustainability
- 9:37need further proof. And in entertainment news,
- 9:44James Gunn has officially shut down a major rumor
- 9:47regarding a sequel to The Batman. One of the
- 9:51most intriguing trailers released this past week
- 9:53is for A24's Primetime, featuring Robert Pattinson
- 9:57as Chris Hansen. The film has captured significant
- 10:01attention, earning over 6 million views in its
- 10:04first day. Pattinson is experiencing the best
- 10:08period of his career with roles in Primetime
- 10:11and The Odyssey, along with an upcoming role
- 10:14in Dune, Part 3. However, The Batman Part II
- 10:18has been delayed to February 18, 2028, and Gunn
- 10:23has denied rumors of back -to -back filming.
- 10:26The cast includes Pattinson, Colin Farrell, Andy
- 10:29Serkis, and Scarlett Johansson. Well, all righty,
- 10:34folks. It's time for the quote of the day. And
- 10:38today, our quote comes from the American journalist
- 10:41and author Robert Quillen. And he said, Character
