- 0:26Speaker 1: YouTube search out of Bound Sports. We welcome in our
- 0:30Speaker 1: friend Tom Lougan bil national college football analyst with ESPN
- 0:35Speaker 1: and Luke's joins us on the Farm Bureau Insurance guest line.
- 0:39Speaker 1: All right, are you getting excited about it? I mean,
- 0:41Speaker 1: do you still get the butterflies and get fired up
- 0:44Speaker 1: now that we're just a couple of weeks out.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Yeah? Absolutely. But I got to hit on one thing.
- 0:49Speaker 2: That little SoundBite you just played. Could any of your
- 0:53Speaker 2: listeners name who that is and what happened?
- 0:55Speaker 1: No? No, no, no, that come on you.
- 1:00Speaker 2: That's you. That's your trivia the day now, man.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Well I should do that. That's a great point to
- 1:06Speaker 1: frame that up. You obviously cover that school, and you
- 1:10Speaker 1: know who the coach was, Jeff Brown from Louisville.
- 1:13Speaker 2: That's exactly right, that was Jeff Brom playing for the
- 1:16Speaker 2: Orlando Rage in the two thousand and one XFL season
- 1:20Speaker 2: where he got hit. I thought he was dead, like
- 1:24Speaker 2: it was. It was one of those hits that and
- 1:28Speaker 2: when he went when he went to the ground, he
- 1:30Speaker 2: did not move, And it was one of those deals
- 1:33Speaker 2: where his head was off to the side but his
- 1:35Speaker 2: face mask was pointing straight in the air.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Oh good, And he.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Got absolutely clobbered in the You just played a snippet
- 1:45Speaker 2: of the sound bite, but what he says in the
- 1:48Speaker 2: in the in the full comment is football to its core.
- 1:54Speaker 2: So if you get a chance, go to YouTube, rewatch
- 1:56Speaker 2: it back and listen to the whole thing. But yes,
- 1:58Speaker 2: to answer your question, I am pumped. I just got
- 2:01Speaker 2: back from Clenson, Georgia Tech MC State and I head
- 2:06Speaker 2: to Louisville actually next weekend as my final camp tour
- 2:09Speaker 2: before we get ready for the season.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Oh that's gonna be so perfect because we got Old
- 2:13Speaker 1: Miss and Louisville in Nashville week one, which is awesome
- 2:19Speaker 1: with Brom going against Golding and Trinidad and the crew,
- 2:23Speaker 1: and then Louisville's breaking in. I don't know what's gonna
- 2:26Speaker 1: happen there if they're gonna go with the Ohio State
- 2:28Speaker 1: guy or if this West Georgia guy is gonna be
- 2:32Speaker 1: I don't want to compare it to Trinidad coming out
- 2:34Speaker 1: of nowhere from Fair State when Austin Simmons got hurt.
- 2:36Speaker 1: But it sounds to me like there's a lot of
- 2:39Speaker 1: back and forth going on here because you mentioned earlier
- 2:42Speaker 1: a month ago Lugs that Brom and maybe he didn't
- 2:47Speaker 1: mean to do this. They may have missed out. I don't,
- 2:49Speaker 1: you know, who knows what happens behind the series. They
- 2:51Speaker 1: may have missed out on three, four or five guys.
- 2:54Speaker 1: But Brom at Louisville, who plays old Miss week one,
- 2:57Speaker 1: he's been going with guys who have a lot of experience. Yeah,
- 3:01Speaker 1: and the West Georgia guy has played, but this Ohio
- 3:04Speaker 1: State guy that transferred in has not. So that's a
- 3:07Speaker 1: little bit different animal for Brom in Louisville, right.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Yeah. I was really surprised about it, you know, I
- 3:14Speaker 2: asked him about it at Act kickoff in July. He
- 3:17Speaker 2: kind of skirted around it a little bit because you know,
- 3:20Speaker 2: he went from Jack Plumber to Tyler Schuck to Miller
- 3:23Speaker 2: Mosss and all of those guys were fifth or six
- 3:26Speaker 2: year guys that had played a ton of football, and
- 3:29Speaker 2: now Lincoln Keenholds, who is super athletic, really mobile, has
- 3:34Speaker 2: a lot of upside, but you don't know what he's
- 3:37Speaker 2: gonna do. He hasn't played and so I was just
- 3:39Speaker 2: really surprised that he went that route at the quarterback
- 3:43Speaker 2: position because it's such a far deviation from what he's
- 3:45Speaker 2: done the previous three years.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Yeah, and I wonder if he did miss out and
- 3:50Speaker 1: or because he has won there and he has chips
- 3:54Speaker 1: and he's in, you know, nowhere close to the hot seat,
- 3:59Speaker 1: if he was looking at this like, okay, we'll take
- 4:03Speaker 1: will take our licks. If as this guy gets up
- 4:06Speaker 1: and running and hopefully by game six or seven, he's
- 4:09Speaker 1: a totally different QB this year, and then if we're
- 4:12Speaker 1: able to hold on to him, then he could have
- 4:14Speaker 1: a really special year for them next year.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Well, yeah, he's got multiple years of eligibility. I think
- 4:20Speaker 2: that's what you know, what you're getting at is, you know,
- 4:23Speaker 2: so many of these guys are one and done, and
- 4:24Speaker 2: that's great, and he's had three straight of them. But
- 4:27Speaker 2: I think at the end of the day, too, like
- 4:29Speaker 2: every prog if you asked every coach in America like
- 4:32Speaker 2: Dave Dorn at NC State has going on his third
- 4:35Speaker 2: year with C. J. Bailey, Like that doesn't happen, Like
- 4:40Speaker 2: you think about that, like you had Haines King at
- 4:42Speaker 2: Georgia Tech been there for I Like, now, if a
- 4:46Speaker 2: guy doesn't play, he leaves, then you don't know what's
- 4:49Speaker 2: going to end up, you know, happening with him or
- 4:51Speaker 2: guy transfers and you know he's only got one year
- 4:54Speaker 2: of eligibility, so there's no like long term investment or
- 4:56Speaker 2: development and create stability at the position. I think program
- 5:00Speaker 2: in America faces that challenge.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Agree Tom Lougan Bill with ESPN on the Farm Bureau
- 5:06Speaker 1: Insurance guest line, and he'll be wrapping up his road
- 5:10Speaker 1: trip at Louisville next week and then that next week
- 5:16Speaker 1: week not week zero, but week one. As y'all know,
- 5:18Speaker 1: we have ole Miss and Louisville in Titan Stadium in Nashville,
- 5:24Speaker 1: and it could mean ole Miss has better players. But
- 5:27Speaker 1: brom is a hell of a coach with ten plus
- 5:29Speaker 1: years at Western Kentucky and Purdue and Louisville and is
- 5:32Speaker 1: one everywhere, So this may be this game could go
- 5:36Speaker 1: into the second half and could get a little crazy
- 5:40Speaker 1: and wild, even with Trinidad and Lacy and that old
- 5:43Speaker 1: Miss defensive line. Okay, so, Lukes, I didn't have Indiana
- 5:51Speaker 1: on my Bengo card this time of year. Last year,
- 5:54Speaker 1: I recognized that they had gone to the College Football Playoff,
- 5:56Speaker 1: but I didn't have them going undefeated, slamming the door
- 6:00Speaker 1: in Alabama and Ohio State and then beating Miami and
- 6:03Speaker 1: winning the National Championship. I text you a few minutes
- 6:07Speaker 1: ago with this new NIL era, and we're getting out
- 6:12Speaker 1: of the Bama, Georgia, LSU, Clemson, Southern Cal, all that run,
- 6:18Speaker 1: you know, And I think it's tough to put your
- 6:20Speaker 1: finger on it. But how many teams do we have
- 6:23Speaker 1: out there that could win it? Considering Indiana did it
- 6:25Speaker 1: last year without the biggest NIL budget and as a
- 6:28Speaker 1: kind of a mid thirties recruiter. When you combine NIL
- 6:31Speaker 1: in high school, Lukes.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Are you talking about the funding and the resources to
- 6:36Speaker 2: be able to be a contender or are you talking
- 6:38Speaker 2: about talent acquisition and all that stuff.
- 6:42Speaker 1: I think I'm talking about how many teams do we
- 6:44Speaker 1: believe have a legitimate shot to win the National Championship?
- 6:50Speaker 1: As we're a couple of weeks away from.
- 6:51Speaker 2: The season, I would probably say to maybe ten to sixteen,
- 6:57Speaker 2: somewhere in that range. Again, a lot of the answer
- 7:01Speaker 2: to that question too, and Indiana is a great example
- 7:03Speaker 2: of this is if you have the stars aligned and
- 7:06Speaker 2: the chips all fall where they're supposed to, and it
- 7:09Speaker 2: just makes for a magical year. It's kind of like
- 7:11Speaker 2: gene Chisck at Auburn that year where everything just played
- 7:14Speaker 2: the way it was supposed to, but with with nil
- 7:18Speaker 2: number one. In order to get difference maker type of players,
- 7:21Speaker 2: you got to be able to compete in that realm.
- 7:23Speaker 2: So from a resources standpoint, you have to you have
- 7:26Speaker 2: to say, okay, well, how many people are Georgia, how
- 7:29Speaker 2: many people are LSU, how many people are Techas or
- 7:32Speaker 2: Ohio State? Well not many, right, But but if you
- 7:37Speaker 2: have the funding and don't necessarily have the brand, then
- 7:42Speaker 2: you have the opportunity to do what Indiana did because you,
- 7:46Speaker 2: through funding and through the acquisition of talent as a
- 7:49Speaker 2: result of that funding, you now all of a sudden
- 7:52Speaker 2: have the opportunity to change the narrative what your program is. Right,
- 7:56Speaker 2: because brands used to be just succeed everything right, Well, now, yes,
- 8:00Speaker 2: the brand helped. It can put you in position and
- 8:02Speaker 2: obviously you're you're well resourced. But you know, in Indiana,
- 8:07Speaker 2: which everybody kind of found out after the fact last year,
- 8:11Speaker 2: I don't think anybody realized they had the type of
- 8:13Speaker 2: money coming in that they had, which explains a lot, right,
- 8:18Speaker 2: And so you know, I don't you know who is
- 8:20Speaker 2: that next team. I think it just depends on if
- 8:22Speaker 2: the university and the institution decide that they're going to,
- 8:26Speaker 2: you know, cast their line in that lake.
- 8:28Speaker 1: And just a few years ago it was I don't know,
- 8:33Speaker 1: two to six teams max they could win it.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean we I remember, you know,
- 8:39Speaker 2: we're talking about and it was like this for the
- 8:41Speaker 2: first few years. You know, we're talking about Okay, well
- 8:43Speaker 2: you expand from four to eight or or four to
- 8:45Speaker 2: twelve or whatever. We end up expanding to twelve, but
- 8:47Speaker 2: we ended up with essentially the same teams that we
- 8:51Speaker 2: all expected to be in the running or be playing
- 8:54Speaker 2: for the championship. We ended up having all those same teams.
- 8:57Speaker 2: It might have been a combination of two or three
- 8:59Speaker 2: here and there, but that was what ended up taking place.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Tom Lougan Bill on the out of bounds show ESPN
- 9:07Speaker 1: one oh five nine the zone. You know, before we
- 9:11Speaker 1: went to this new model, I would say on the
- 9:13Speaker 1: air for years that Notre Dame, for example, Notre Dame
- 9:16Speaker 1: couldn't win it. Okay, you know when we you and
- 9:19Speaker 1: I were growing up, they were considered a power and
- 9:24Speaker 1: then they kind of left the the grid or the
- 9:28Speaker 1: zip code of championship level football. I know Kelly took
- 9:32Speaker 1: him to the national Championship in twenty twelve, but they
- 9:34Speaker 1: were embarrassed and Saban took his foot off the gas.
- 9:36Speaker 1: You remember that game, and now you know, look at
- 9:41Speaker 1: their schedule. Indiana just did it. It's if you get
- 9:47Speaker 1: your act together and get the right coaching and funding,
- 9:49Speaker 1: which I think dozens of teams can do if they
- 9:52Speaker 1: choose to do Lukes. Now it's opened to damn near
- 9:57Speaker 1: thirty to fifty teams, not every year, but if they
- 10:00Speaker 1: have the capability, if they do things the right way.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Do you agree with that?
- 10:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I absolutely agree with that. But it comes down
- 10:06Speaker 2: to the exact thing that you just said, and that
- 10:09Speaker 2: is what are you willing to put forth right right?
- 10:12Speaker 2: And if you're willing as a university or from a
- 10:17Speaker 2: funding standpoint, whether it's a collective or booster donors, and
- 10:22Speaker 2: you know, combination of all of those sorts of things.
- 10:25Speaker 2: You know, it's you can't expect eleven and one results
- 10:30Speaker 2: with six and six resources, right, And so you've got
- 10:33Speaker 2: to make sure you put yourself in a position. And
- 10:36Speaker 2: then of course you know coaching and player evaluation and
- 10:40Speaker 2: getting the right guys. I mean, I think that's the
- 10:42Speaker 2: one thing it's easy to talk about this with Indiana,
- 10:45Speaker 2: you talk about a team that went out and hand picked.
- 10:51Speaker 2: It was almost like moneyball, like they knew exactly what
- 10:55Speaker 2: they needed, what they wanted. They age in year of
- 10:59Speaker 2: eligibile Trump's name and ranking come out of high school,
- 11:03Speaker 2: whether you played at quarterback or didn't play at quarterback
- 11:06Speaker 2: was a deciding factor on who they took. And they
- 11:08Speaker 2: had taken Curtis Rourke who'd been a three year starter
- 11:11Speaker 2: at Ohio Banana Mendoz who had started getting hot at
- 11:14Speaker 2: Cal the year before, and he wasn't on a very
- 11:15Speaker 2: good team, but he played a lot of football. Like
- 11:18Speaker 2: there's certain common denominators that make up the recipe for
- 11:21Speaker 2: success in this era. And if you have the financial
- 11:23Speaker 2: resources and you have a blueprint and a plan, you
- 11:26Speaker 2: can compete and be in that top twelve to sixteen
- 11:28Speaker 2: conversation every year.
- 11:32Speaker 1: So I think the SEC is, uh, they'll be fine. Okay,
- 11:38Speaker 1: I don't buy into this. Oh my god, they haven't
- 11:40Speaker 1: won it in three years. The league's going to be fine.
- 11:43Speaker 1: It's an adjustment. They went to nine games. I don't
- 11:47Speaker 1: necessarily agree with it, but understand the financial impact. But
- 11:51Speaker 1: I think as long as they're letting in G six teams,
- 11:54Speaker 1: which I don't agree with, but that's where we are
- 11:56Speaker 1: right now. And when you catch a year like this year,
- 11:59Speaker 1: lou So, I want you to walk me through your
- 12:01Speaker 1: thoughts where Penn State has an unbelievable schedule, Indiana has
- 12:06Speaker 1: an unbelievable schedule, and Notre Dame. Yeah, they may. They
- 12:11Speaker 1: may lose a spot here to pit with the non
- 12:16Speaker 1: game schedule and cannibalizing each other until we get an
- 12:19Speaker 1: expanded playoffs.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Your thoughts, Yeah, I mean I think so. But you
- 12:25Speaker 2: know what I don't. I don't believe you know, the
- 12:27Speaker 2: SEC not winning the title for three years has all
- 12:30Speaker 2: that much to do with any type of scheduling or
- 12:33Speaker 2: going to nine games. I think it has to do
- 12:35Speaker 2: with talent dispersement and the fact that it's almost impossible
- 12:39Speaker 2: now to hoard all of the talent right and to
- 12:44Speaker 2: keep the twos and threes on your roster that could
- 12:47Speaker 2: be started somewhere else. So you've what you've done is
- 12:50Speaker 2: you've made everybody better through the transfer portal. You know,
- 12:55Speaker 2: whether that's been in an unintended consequence or just the
- 12:59Speaker 2: nature of of what the sport has become. And so
- 13:03Speaker 2: I think a lot of it it is scheduling, but
- 13:06Speaker 2: not so much going to nine games. It's who you
- 13:08Speaker 2: do or do not play, you know, Like, for example,
- 13:11Speaker 2: NC State has a great quarterback in CJ. Bailey. Am
- 13:15Speaker 2: using them as an example because they have maybe the
- 13:18Speaker 2: best schedule of anybody in the ACC. I don't think
- 13:21Speaker 2: they have Miami, they don't have louisll, they don't have
- 13:23Speaker 2: SMU and so they could be in a position where
- 13:28Speaker 2: they've got this great record, but the luck of the
- 13:30Speaker 2: draw fell in their favor. And that happened to Virginia
- 13:33Speaker 2: last year. Virginia had the best schedule of anybody in
- 13:37Speaker 2: that conference. It wasn't even close. They happened to hit
- 13:39Speaker 2: on a quarterback boom magic. So I think a little
- 13:42Speaker 2: bit of is just year in and year out do
- 13:46Speaker 2: you hit on all of the right marks or do
- 13:47Speaker 2: you hit on enough of them that put you in position?
- 13:51Speaker 2: Because I look at the SEC and I see, Okay,
- 13:54Speaker 2: maybe they haven't won the national title, but I look
- 13:57Speaker 2: at their top to bottom depth, and I look at
- 13:59Speaker 2: the big ten top bottom desk, and I don't think
- 14:01Speaker 2: the Big ken's very good outside of three or fourteens,
- 14:04Speaker 2: I think it's very very average. But there's this perception
- 14:07Speaker 2: that it's just really, really good. Now Indiana's added to that, obviously,
- 14:13Speaker 2: but you still have a lot of fledgling programs. You know,
- 14:16Speaker 2: Michigan State hasn't been what they've been, Wisconsin certainly hasn't
- 14:19Speaker 2: been what they've been. We all know the struggles Nebraska
- 14:21Speaker 2: has had. Iowa has basically been Iowa. Northwestern's struggled. You know,
- 14:27Speaker 2: I think it's it's fair to point those things out
- 14:29Speaker 2: about that conference.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Tom Lougan Bill on the Out of Bounds Show, brought
- 14:34Speaker 1: to you by your next GMC Sierra Truck at FOWLERGMC
- 14:39Speaker 1: dot com. Do you have do you have a team
- 14:42Speaker 1: that you're picking as the leader in the clubhouse? Is
- 14:44Speaker 1: it Notre Dame? Is it Ohio State? Is it Georgia.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Is it another team going into the season. I think.
- 14:50Speaker 2: I think when you look at the least amount of
- 14:52Speaker 2: turnover and the returning production of two teams from the
- 14:57Speaker 2: twenty twenty five year till now, you got look at
- 15:00Speaker 2: Notre Dame in Georgia, very few defections through the portal,
- 15:04Speaker 2: very few additions unless absolutely needed, player development, established pillars
- 15:09Speaker 2: and foundation within the program. Both of those teams are
- 15:14Speaker 2: not spending anywhere near as much time trying to figure
- 15:19Speaker 2: out the pieces of the puzzle is the vast majority
- 15:22Speaker 2: of college football right now because they don't have the
- 15:24Speaker 2: roster swing to me, that gives them advantages.
- 15:28Speaker 1: And George actually, for the SEC, Georgia pulls a pretty
- 15:32Speaker 1: damn good schedule and then Notre Dame's is a cake walk.
- 15:38Speaker 2: So there's no excuses for Notre Dame to not be
- 15:40Speaker 2: eleven and one or twelve and zero.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Yeah, how good? Do you know? So for our listeners,
- 15:45Speaker 1: you know we have we have SEC fans from several
- 15:49Speaker 1: different schools listening right now, so they could they could
- 15:53Speaker 1: run into Notre Dame in the playoffs if they make it.
- 15:56Speaker 1: How good in your opinion, because we're talking Trinidad champ
- 16:00Speaker 1: us down here and then Arch and then maybe you
- 16:05Speaker 1: know a little bit of Sam Levitt and Gunner. What
- 16:08Speaker 1: for those that haven't watched him, how good is CJ.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Carr the quarterback at Notre.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Dame Elite top five, top ten at the worst pick
- 16:21Speaker 2: in next year's draft? In my opinion, I think he's special. Now.
- 16:25Speaker 2: He's more of your classic, pure prototypical quarterback in the
- 16:32Speaker 2: sense that he's going to play with his mind and
- 16:34Speaker 2: his arm and his feet within the pocket. He's going
- 16:36Speaker 2: to go through progressions. He's going to process quickly. He's
- 16:39Speaker 2: not to pull a rabbit out of the hat create
- 16:42Speaker 2: when things break down and make a bunch of sandlot plays.
- 16:44Speaker 2: That's not who he is. He's timing, precision, accuracy, arm
- 16:49Speaker 2: talent is fantastic. I think he's really really good.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Okay, and you so you have the elite group?
- 16:59Speaker 2: Is J.
- 17:00Speaker 1: Carr, Dante Moore, Trinidad, Chadliss, CJ.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Bailey, Arch, Yeah, maybe the kid at USC mayavea oh.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Okay.
- 17:14Speaker 2: He's really good, you know. And then I, you know,
- 17:17Speaker 2: I want to wait and see on guys like Matier
- 17:20Speaker 2: and Sam Levitt to number one, see if they can
- 17:22Speaker 2: stay healthy, that's number one, and see if they can
- 17:25Speaker 2: play clean football. And then you know, you got guys
- 17:29Speaker 2: like Josh Hoover now at Indiana, Yeah, who was spectacular
- 17:33Speaker 2: at tc although he turns the ball over a lot.
- 17:35Speaker 2: I'm a little worried about that because that's one thing
- 17:37Speaker 2: Indiana does not do. They do not beat themselves and
- 17:40Speaker 2: they don't turn the ball over. But I think he's
- 17:43Speaker 2: a good, really good player, and he's played a ton
- 17:45Speaker 2: of football. And then the guy that's replacing him at
- 17:47Speaker 2: TCU through like forty five touchdowns to ten interceptions as
- 17:51Speaker 2: a starting quarterback at Harvard for the last two years.
- 17:54Speaker 2: So we'll see how he makes a jump from the
- 17:56Speaker 2: STS to to TCU. He played a really, really good player,
- 18:00Speaker 2: So it'll be Byron Brown's another one great production at USF.
- 18:04Speaker 2: How does he transition to Auburn. I think that's going
- 18:08Speaker 2: to be fun to watch it. So there's going to
- 18:09Speaker 2: be some guy will be interested to see emergence this
- 18:11Speaker 2: fall for our listeners.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Logan Bill Luke's mentioned Matier Ole Miss will play them
- 18:19Speaker 1: again this year and they go back to Oklahoma just
- 18:21Speaker 1: the way the scheduling went, and he mentioned Sam Levitt,
- 18:24Speaker 1: who was in Startville last year. Y'all remember that game,
- 18:28Speaker 1: and Ole Miss and Mississippi State will play Levitt and
- 18:32Speaker 1: then Mississippi State will host Auburn this year and they'll
- 18:35Speaker 1: play Byron Brown. So just to give you an idea
- 18:38Speaker 1: as far as connecting the dots on what quarterbacks you
- 18:42Speaker 1: will see if you go Georgia one in the SEC
- 18:48Speaker 1: and I agree with returning starters and how they've recruited
- 18:54Speaker 1: and retention. Yeah, who's the second team for you? Is
- 18:58Speaker 1: it LSU text to spam or someone else?
- 19:03Speaker 2: I think it would be Texas right now. And then
- 19:06Speaker 2: I think you can lump LSU at Alabama all those teams,
- 19:09Speaker 2: you know, old myths kind of together. Uh, you know,
- 19:12Speaker 2: we don't know on Florida yet, we don't know, you know,
- 19:16Speaker 2: which South Carolina team is going to show up, so
- 19:19Speaker 2: it'll I would probably say Texas. I think Texas on
- 19:23Speaker 2: offense could end up being like having a spectacular, like
- 19:28Speaker 2: defining season on offense.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Yeah, they need to bounce back. They've struggled, haven't they
- 19:32Speaker 1: the last couple of years?
- 19:33Speaker 2: On that the last six or seven weeks the last
- 19:37Speaker 2: season they were on fire. So if if arch Manning's
- 19:42Speaker 2: progression picks up where he left off there. I mean
- 19:45Speaker 2: with the additions they made on offense, Hollywood, some others
- 19:47Speaker 2: at running back, Cam Coleman at wide out, like they've
- 19:51Speaker 2: they've got some real weapons.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Uh Ole. Miss and Mississippi State play back to back
- 19:56Speaker 1: weekends at Texas in late October, so and arch Manning.
- 20:02Speaker 1: I still can't believe Misissippi State was up seventeen points
- 20:05Speaker 1: in the fourth quarter on Now, that was earlier in
- 20:08Speaker 1: the year, right, this is before lougan Bill referencing around
- 20:13Speaker 1: game six or seven when they started to figure it out.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Even even Sark talked about it this summer that he missed,
- 20:19Speaker 1: and you know, they they got their ducks in a
- 20:21Speaker 1: row and then started started rolling Tom lougan Bill on
- 20:24Speaker 1: the Out of Bounds Show ESPN one oh five nine
- 20:29Speaker 1: of the Zone. Okay, if there's a surprise, you know,
- 20:32Speaker 1: two names were not talking about because there's just so
- 20:37Speaker 1: many big names in the league is and they've been
- 20:40Speaker 1: kind of tucked away. But they've proven that they can win,
- 20:43Speaker 1: and that's hypel at Tennessee and Elko at A and M.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Do you think that they can sneak up on some people?
- 20:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I think A and M is going to be
- 20:51Speaker 2: very good. I think the Tennessee is going to depend
- 20:53Speaker 2: on if they end up playing with the true freshman quarterback.
- 20:55Speaker 2: They could end up, you know, lining up with Fazon Brandon,
- 20:58Speaker 2: a true freshman, and you know, got to play on
- 21:00Speaker 2: the road at Georgia Tech week two, so that that
- 21:03Speaker 2: would be interesting. I think Josh Heippel's done a great job.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Mike Colco has done a great job. I don't think
- 21:08Speaker 2: there's any reason why those two teams shouldn't be playoff contenders.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Wow, I didn't realize that Tennessee goes to Georgia Tech'd
- 21:17Speaker 1: be interesting to see what Tech can do without Haines
- 21:20Speaker 1: King and Faultner.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Oh yeah, uh.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Haines was one of my Haines King is one of
- 21:28Speaker 1: my favorite players the last few years in college football,
- 21:31Speaker 1: talking about like a reboot and redemption story coming out
- 21:34Speaker 1: of A and M and having a great career Tech.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Of course you started there too, and I mean he
- 21:41Speaker 1: was ridiculous, ton of fun to watch. He may he
- 21:45Speaker 1: may make some noise with the Carolina Panthers Bryce Young
- 21:48Speaker 1: and you know Bryce Young and them. All right, all right,
- 21:52Speaker 1: So where you headed this week?
- 21:54Speaker 2: I go to I got college Football Live on Thursday
- 21:57Speaker 2: and Friday. Then I head to Louisville over the weekend
- 22:00Speaker 2: for their camp tour, and then I don't have a
- 22:03Speaker 2: game on week here, but I open up with Mississippi
- 22:05Speaker 2: State Week one.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Oh, you're going to be in Starbull MSU.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Yeah, in Louisiana Monroe. Yeah.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Okay, So Camaro Taylor's somewhat you know, I mean, he
- 22:16Speaker 1: started a couple of games at the end, but people
- 22:21Speaker 1: are all fired up about the six foot four to
- 22:24Speaker 1: two hundred and thirty pounds true sophomore out of Knoxby County,
- 22:28Speaker 1: which is Jeffrey Simmons, among others. Those that program beats
- 22:33Speaker 1: people damn near every Friday night. So all right, this
- 22:36Speaker 1: is going to be great. We're going to be able
- 22:38Speaker 1: to do even more of a deep dive with LUs
- 22:40Speaker 1: on Louisville as we get ready for Week one. Ole
- 22:43Speaker 1: miss and Louisville, Tom Louganville have a great
