- 0:00Speaker 1: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 0:03Speaker 1: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from Al Salvador
- 0:07Speaker 1: accused of murdering a Texas man of Venezuelan charged with
- 0:11Speaker 1: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 0:15Speaker 1: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 0:19Speaker 1: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy nom the United States
- 0:23Speaker 1: Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border
- 0:28Speaker 1: crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over
- 0:31Speaker 1: one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you
- 0:35Speaker 1: are here illegally, your next you will be fined nearly
- 0:39Speaker 1: one thousand dollars a day, imprisoned, and deported. You will
- 0:43Speaker 1: never return. But if you register using our CBP home
- 0:46Speaker 1: app and leave now, you could be allowed to return legally.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Do what's right. Leave now. Under President Trump, America's laws,
- 0:55Speaker 1: border and families will.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Be protected sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Let me ask you this.
- 1:01Speaker 3: As far as the crypto conversation, you guys obviously hold
- 1:07Speaker 3: a lot of bigcoin. I think you said seven billion
- 1:09Speaker 3: dollars in bitcoin right.
- 1:10Speaker 4: Well, our fund, our fund itself is we have seven
- 1:13Speaker 4: billion dollars in our management correctly.
- 1:16Speaker 3: For the whole crypto in the crypto.
- 1:18Speaker 4: In fact, and then we are then we use that
- 1:20Speaker 4: money to basically invest into the world's best companies were
- 1:23Speaker 4: in space.
- 1:25Speaker 3: So all right, you guys, you guys are very bullish
- 1:28Speaker 3: on bitcoin. I'll follow it with Ian's question because I
- 1:33Speaker 3: think you might have forgot that part. But how long
- 1:35Speaker 3: do you plan on holding bitcoin? And what other cryptocurrencies
- 1:39Speaker 3: are you guys interested in or invested in, or like,
- 1:43Speaker 3: what's your thoughts on the cryptocurrency space for other coins
- 1:47Speaker 3: x R P ethereum outside of you know, the big Boy,
- 1:51Speaker 3: which is a bitcoin.
- 1:53Speaker 4: Look, I think that when you think about just the
- 1:56Speaker 4: future of tokens, you know, one of the things that
- 2:00Speaker 4: we're extremely excited about. So you have these things without
- 2:04Speaker 4: getting too technical, there's layer ones which are kind of
- 2:07Speaker 4: like many supercomputers that are built into the Internet. So
- 2:11Speaker 4: those are kind of like the ethereums of the world,
- 2:13Speaker 4: the big cooins, the solanas, the you name it. Those
- 2:18Speaker 4: are the core ecosystems, right. But then one of the
- 2:22Speaker 4: things that what we're seeing continue to emerge and where
- 2:25Speaker 4: we're very excited in exploring is these what we call
- 2:29Speaker 4: like L two ecosystems, So they're built off of the
- 2:33Speaker 4: Ethereum blockchain, and then you have you know, companies like
- 2:36Speaker 4: Polygon or Optimism or businesses like that, where now they're
- 2:40Speaker 4: building their own eCos they're building their own technologies that
- 2:44Speaker 4: are going to continue that you can build off of.
- 2:47Speaker 4: So if you're a developer, you can build off of Optimism,
- 2:49Speaker 4: you can build off of Polygon, you can build off
- 2:51Speaker 4: of you know, Base, which is a company that product
- 2:56Speaker 4: and L two that Coinbase recently just did in partnership
- 2:59Speaker 4: with Optimsy, and so that gives you the ability now
- 3:03Speaker 4: to have to to leverage these layer ones, but more
- 3:07Speaker 4: so create new businesses that then can help scale the
- 3:11Speaker 4: underlying infrastructure. And so these are businesses that we're always
- 3:15Speaker 4: excited about and constantly seeing more and more of them involved.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Another one that that we that I worked really closely
- 3:21Speaker 4: with was a company called ape coin youg Labs, and
- 3:24Speaker 4: then they launched an ape coin that's a layer two ecosystem,
- 3:28Speaker 4: and so within that you know they have now you
- 3:32Speaker 4: can actually if you wanted to buy merch from the
- 3:35Speaker 4: from a from Yuga or the board apes or from
- 3:38Speaker 4: crypto punks or you name it. Instead of you just
- 3:40Speaker 4: spending US dollars and you spending ethereum, now you can
- 3:45Speaker 4: actually use their own currency. And I think that's that's
- 3:48Speaker 4: extremely exciting because now you're going to start to see
- 3:51Speaker 4: these interoperable layer, these interoperable economies that are going to
- 3:55Speaker 4: start to come off where traditionally, in a you know,
- 3:59Speaker 4: uh dollar uh you know currency situation, it's only based
- 4:04Speaker 4: off of US dollars. So at some point there could
- 4:07Speaker 4: be an ey L token and now if you want
- 4:10Speaker 4: to go to the next ey L show or the
- 4:12Speaker 4: next conference, the only way in order to purchase that
- 4:14Speaker 4: is with your own economy. And so and these are
- 4:17Speaker 4: things that are extremely exciting because this is where the
- 4:20Speaker 4: future of Web three evolves. But it's super important for
- 4:25Speaker 4: us to continually making it as easy as possible because
- 4:28Speaker 4: I know this is a super technical discussion in terms
- 4:32Speaker 4: of like where the possibilities are, but once it actually
- 4:35Speaker 4: gets to what I kind of call the application layer,
- 4:40Speaker 4: and you know, quote unquote hiding the wires where you
- 4:42Speaker 4: might not in the next couple of years you're going
- 4:45Speaker 4: to be using crypto and not even knowing that you're
- 4:48Speaker 4: actually you know, interacting with the blockchain. I mean a
- 4:50Speaker 4: good example that we talked about was kind of know
- 4:53Speaker 4: how the history of of the GPS system, right like
- 4:59Speaker 4: when when you use GPS, you don't think, oh, I'm
- 5:02Speaker 4: about to interact with this GPS technology. You're like, yo,
- 5:04Speaker 4: I need to figure out how to get to the
- 5:06Speaker 4: nearest Starbucks or I'm trying to go to the work tonight,
- 5:08Speaker 4: Like how do how? How do I get how do
- 5:10Speaker 4: I get there? But there's actually a whole technology platform
- 5:15Speaker 4: and actually was co founded by a black woman as
- 5:17Speaker 4: well too, so back in the day. And so that
- 5:21Speaker 4: would that has created a whole new companies. I mean,
- 5:24Speaker 4: without GPS technology, there would be no Uber, there would
- 5:27Speaker 4: be no Lift, there would be you know, so many
- 5:29Speaker 4: platforms and companies that have built off of this underlying
- 5:32Speaker 4: technology and you didn't even know it, right, same thing
- 5:35Speaker 4: with email, like the SMPT is a actual protocol, Like
- 5:42Speaker 4: an email is really a protocol similar to a lot
- 5:44Speaker 4: of these protocols that are in Web three. And you
- 5:47Speaker 4: know that was it was super super complex for anybody
- 5:51Speaker 4: to actually be able to use this. So by building
- 5:53Speaker 4: a simple system like a Gmail that you know, can
- 5:57Speaker 4: actually remove a lot of the infrastructure and a lot
- 5:59Speaker 4: of the wires and allow you just to interact on
- 6:02Speaker 4: a daily basis. That gives you the ability to create
- 6:05Speaker 4: brand new technologies. And so now when you think about
- 6:09Speaker 4: the next generation of crypto or Web three and having
- 6:12Speaker 4: these layer two applications, that it's very similar.
- 6:17Speaker 5: This episode is brought to you by P and C Bank.
- 6:19Speaker 5: A lot of people think podcasts about work are boring,
- 6:22Speaker 5: and sure they definitely can be, but understanding of professionals

- 8:07Speaker 1: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 8:10Speaker 1: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from Al Salvador
- 8:15Speaker 1: accused of murdering a Texas. Man of Venezuelan charged with

- 9:02Speaker 1: border and families will be protected.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
- 9:07Speaker 4: It's thinking about that as the as the kind of
- 9:12Speaker 4: GPS of three point h right, and so people were
- 9:15Speaker 4: going to start to build these new platforms that you know,
- 9:18Speaker 4: the next social network will be able to allow you
- 9:21Speaker 4: to take your users and only have one logging and
- 9:24Speaker 4: be able to go from this platform to this platform
- 9:26Speaker 4: and still be able to migrate all your data and
- 9:29Speaker 4: have everything controlled on your personal keys. And I think
- 9:32Speaker 4: that that's really where the next generation is going to
- 9:34Speaker 4: move forward and where we're super excited about investing into
- 9:38Speaker 4: the next big company in the space, Chris.
- 9:41Speaker 6: So, if the next generation is going to move forward
- 9:43Speaker 6: in action, we need to be a part of it.
- 9:45Speaker 6: I always compare cryptocurrency to the aircraft that is taken
- 9:51Speaker 6: off and we can Yep, we can't at the gate.
- 9:54Speaker 4: But we can't do it. We can do it.
- 9:58Speaker 5: We got to have our boarding paths to this. So
- 10:00Speaker 5: absolutely one of the things that the barriers that people
- 10:03Speaker 5: face is number one trust, Yeah, security and lack of
- 10:07Speaker 5: education around the space and so yes, a lot of
- 10:10Speaker 5: this conversation is a bit technical. So if somebody is
- 10:13Speaker 5: just getting introduced to the space, they're watching it now
- 10:16Speaker 5: because they've seen it being called it at twenty right,
- 10:18Speaker 5: it was going to go down to twenty Now it's
- 10:20Speaker 5: at forty one. Imagine people are saying, I don't want
- 10:23Speaker 5: to get left out. I'm going to invest Where should
- 10:25Speaker 5: people be getting their source of information right? Because there
- 10:28Speaker 5: is no textbook on this. I know we've had this
- 10:30Speaker 5: conversation before where, yes, you studied a lot, Where are
- 10:33Speaker 5: we going are we reading white papers? Which is like
- 10:36Speaker 5: telling what's happening and what are we doing to get
- 10:38Speaker 5: the information.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Where should we go?
- 10:40Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, look, I mean I'm a big believer
- 10:44Speaker 4: of you know, one you can go to a sixteen
- 10:47Speaker 4: zecrypto dot com. I'm fortunate enough to work with the
- 10:51Speaker 4: greatest minds in all the crypto industry, and so we
- 10:55Speaker 4: have you know, daily blog posts and quotes and content
- 10:59Speaker 4: and go on our Twitter website. Like our team is
- 11:03Speaker 4: only delivers the facts and always wants to kind of
- 11:06Speaker 4: deliver where the future of the spaces are going. So
- 11:09Speaker 4: I would highly encourage you just to go to a
- 11:11Speaker 4: sixteen zcrypto dot com and you know, stay up to
- 11:14Speaker 4: speed in terms of you know, we have so much
- 11:16Speaker 4: content that if you end up reading all that information
- 11:19Speaker 4: and you know, like the back of your hand and
- 11:21Speaker 4: you're tired of reading it, you can please please email
- 11:24Speaker 4: me for a job application because we would love to
- 11:27Speaker 4: have you because that the amount of technical and you know,
- 11:31Speaker 4: professional resources there is extremely important. My partner, Chris Dixon,
- 11:36Speaker 4: he's also launching a book that's going to be out
- 11:38Speaker 4: next year which is titled ReadWrite Own and a lot
- 11:43Speaker 4: of it actually kind of goes after what you just said,
- 11:45Speaker 4: is that there's so much information and we actually heard
- 11:48Speaker 4: this when we would you know, go up to the
- 11:49Speaker 4: hill in d C. And they'd be, well, what book
- 11:51Speaker 4: should I read to get educated to learn about the
- 11:53Speaker 4: history of the space, And so like, he actually has
- 11:58Speaker 4: a book that's going to be coming out early next year,
- 12:00Speaker 4: and you can actually pre register it right now on
- 12:03Speaker 4: Amazon and we'll make sure you get a copy, and
- 12:06Speaker 4: maybe we can even figure out a way to do
- 12:08Speaker 4: something special with you know, with the EYL group and
- 12:12Speaker 4: in terms of making sure that we can kind of
- 12:13Speaker 4: do some sort of promotion, I don't know, we'll figure
- 12:15Speaker 4: it out and come on, let's let's talk about it.
- 12:19Speaker 4: But that's all that. You know, Chris is literally one
- 12:21Speaker 4: of the pioneers in the space, and he's going to
- 12:23Speaker 4: really deliver some great information. And so I highly encourage
- 12:27Speaker 4: you guys to check out that book when it comes out.
- 12:29Speaker 4: But the most fun thing for me personally is actually
- 12:33Speaker 4: just to go try and buy it, like, go try
- 12:36Speaker 4: and buy bitcoin, go try to like you know, minted
- 12:39Speaker 4: NFT and because it's really hard. It sounds hard at
- 12:43Speaker 4: first because most people have never done it before. And
- 12:47Speaker 4: then so like you know, once you buy fifty dollars
- 12:51Speaker 4: worth of bitcoin or mint one n f T. Then
- 12:54Speaker 4: all of a sudden, you just naturally start gravitating it
- 12:58Speaker 4: and washing it a little bit more, and then you like,
- 13:00Speaker 4: oh wow, my fifty dollars went to seventy five? What happened?
- 13:03Speaker 4: And then you might click on a news link and
- 13:04Speaker 4: then you'll see, you know that the ETF you know,
- 13:08Speaker 4: is getting closer or something that's just happened in the
- 13:10Speaker 4: regulatory space where there was new technology block, you know,
- 13:14Speaker 4: break that happened. Then a lot of people say they
- 13:18Speaker 4: don't understand crypto, but have also never even tried to
- 13:21Speaker 4: get into the actual application. It's like saying basketball is
- 13:24Speaker 4: hard and I never even dribbled the ball before, right,
- 13:27Speaker 4: And so the best way to actually get interested and
- 13:30Speaker 4: get into the space is to actually try it. And
- 13:33Speaker 4: if you don't know how to do it, I mean,
- 13:35Speaker 4: the easiest way to buy crypto right now that I recommend,
- 13:38Speaker 4: that's also the most secure and the most safe. And
- 13:41Speaker 4: then doing things the right way is through coinbase, and
- 13:44Speaker 4: you know, make sure that you have two factor authentication
- 13:47Speaker 4: so that you keep everything stored and safe and put
- 13:50Speaker 4: your money in a vault. They have a digital vault
- 13:52Speaker 4: that allows you to you have to have multiple passwords
- 13:55Speaker 4: and keys in order for anybody to actually take it out,
- 13:57Speaker 4: and so, you know, and then they also have great
- 14:00Speaker 4: info in news articles that they constantly post on their
- 14:03Speaker 4: website as well, And so these are just like little
- 14:06Speaker 4: simple things. But you know, once you get in down
- 14:09Speaker 4: the rabbit hole, it's kind of like the matrix, like
- 14:11Speaker 4: do you want to take the rip pill or the
- 14:12Speaker 4: blue pill? But once you realize that, oh wow, this
- 14:15Speaker 4: is a much different and better alternative than what the
- 14:19Speaker 4: current ecosystem has been doing, it's kind of hard to
- 14:21Speaker 4: go back.
