• 0:23
chickens. Hey, good morning everybody from
• 0:29
the chicken coop so Today, I want to talk to you about the
• 0:32
fact that two things can be true at the same time.
• 0:35
Now you've heard me probably mentioned this on the podcast
• 0:38
before. But today I want to just focus
• 0:40
on it because I think it's important for us to understand
• 0:42
the Dynamics of it. Two things can be true at the
• 0:46
same time, I can be exhausted and I can be completely and
• 0:51
totally happy about being exhausted or just about the
• 0:55
exhaustion because I did a really great day of work.
• 0:58
You know, when I finish coaching everybody at the The day I can
• 1:01
be spent mentally, but I can feel really happy about the job
• 1:05
that I did or I can be completely in love with my
• 1:09
husband and know how much I love him yet.
• 1:12
I want to kill him because he said that my son could, you
• 1:15
know, go off and put a fish tank into the bedroom.
• 1:19
Those two things can actually be true at the same time and we I
• 1:26
think we forget that things are not absolutes to things can.
• 1:30
Be true at the same time, you know, I was coaching a couple
• 1:34
this week and I said to them the very same thing, two things can
• 1:38
be true at the same time, you can be in love with each other
• 1:40
and you can want to throat punch each other at the same time and
• 1:43
they started laughing about it. But it's true and I think that
• 1:46
we forget how hard it is to be in interaction with other people
• 1:53
when we have our expectations and they don't know them.
• 1:57
So it leads to these moments of Scored and moments of discomfort
• 2:02
when we are not clear about our expectations and it sets us up
• 2:07
to be in conflict in our lives. And if we can remember that two
• 2:13
things can be true at the same time, it eases us out of the
• 2:18
anger, it eases us out of the frustration.
• 2:21
It puts us into a place of awareness that we are very
• 2:24
  complex. Emotional beings human beings
• 2:28
are incredibly complex. Lex emotional beings, you know,
• 2:32
it's long, debated aspects of, you know, feelings emotions
• 2:36
which comes first, how does one trigger another?
• 2:39
And the truth comes down to this, we might understand some
• 2:42
of the mechanics around feelings and emotions, but we still don't
• 2:47
have Clarity on where they all come from.
• 2:51
Where thoughts come from? How does an idea come into your
• 2:54
head? There's a lot of gray gray
• 2:58
space. If you will, I want to say
• 3:00
grace, Honored meaning that that's in the brain but there's
• 3:03
a lot of gray space here. Nothing is absolute.
• 3:06
There isn't black and white here and just like, you know, we want
• 3:12
people to give us Grace. We have to provide Grace for
• 3:15
others and in the in the acknowledgement that two things
• 3:20
can be true. At the same time we can make
• 3:23
decisions from a more graceful place and we can make our
• 3:27
actions from a more graceful place but you first have to
• 3:30
Allow yourself to recognize two things can be true at the same
• 3:34
time and then you have to decide, okay?
• 3:37
Well, if two things are true at the same time, which one of
• 3:40
those two things do I want to put my focus on which and I'm
• 3:44
not saying you ignore the problems, please understand?
• 3:47
This is not about ignoring the problems.
• 3:49
This is about having Grace with it all, so that you can heal
• 3:53
what's not, right? And what you can, you know, put
• 3:56
your attention on grows. We all know that, where your
• 3:59
attention goes things grow. So you have to recognize that
• 4:05
when you are in your state of frustration and you are putting
• 4:08
your attention on the frustration, the frustration
• 4:11
grows. But if two things are Possible
• 4:15
at the same time like I love you and I can't stand the things you
• 4:19
do then you have to say am I you know focusing on the fact that I
• 4:25
love the person or am I focusing on the problem?
• 4:28
And again this does not mean that you don't deal with the
• 4:32
issues that need to be dealt with.
• 4:33
What it means is that you understand, there is a higher
• 4:38
action in mind, and that is the love.
• 4:40
The love is always present, so, and I'm using that as the exam,
• 4:44
Ah, but this can be done in any of any situation and you can
• 4:48
figure out which one is the higher important emotion for you
• 4:52
to focus on now. I mean, I'll be the first one to
• 4:55
admit my husband and I drive each other.
• 4:58
Crazy. There's no question about the
• 4:59
fact that we can irritate each other absolutely without
• 5:03
question. That's called being in a
• 5:05
relationship and we stick it out because we love each other
• 5:10
because that's more important to us than anything and we've been
• 5:13
some through some really Happy things, let me tell you the
• 5:16
crappiest of crappy and we have stuck it out because we love
• 5:19
each other and just because we have made stupid choices and
• 5:23
said stupid things and done stupid.
• 5:25
Things doesn't mean we give up on each other because two things
• 5:28
can be true at the same time and you get to process that and
• 5:33
consciously think through which is the one I want my energy to
• 5:36
go to, which is the one I want to grow.
• 5:38
You know, there's that old American Native Americans saying
• 5:44
about there are two wolves inside of us and, you know,
• 5:48
there's the Dark Side in that light side of the wolf.
• 5:52
And then the question is well, which one grows?
• 5:54
Whichever one you feed and I butchered that probably terribly
• 5:58
but the reality is whatever you put attention to grows, just
• 6:05
like I can plant two seeds in the ground.
• 6:07
I can give them both the dirt. I can put the seeds in.
• 6:10
Both the cups which one is going to grow, which one is going to
• 6:13
thrive. The One eye water and the one I
• 6:16
feed the other one will stagnate and do nothing.
• 6:18
It will just sit in the dirt, a seed in the dirt is not enough.
• 6:22
It needs to be nurtured and this is how this works.
• 6:25
So I want you to think about this today, two things can be
• 6:29
true at the same time what are you two things that you need to
• 6:32
put your awareness to and figure out because that's what's going
• 6:36
to make the difference in your life.
• 6:37
Okay guys I will see you tomorrow.
• 6:39
  Have a blessed day. Bye.
