- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on your uh huh, I sure will.
- 0:04Speaker 2: A good morning everybody you're listening to the voice, Come
- 0:08Speaker 2: on dig me now. One and only Steve Harley got
- 0:11Speaker 2: a radio show. I have something, and it so describes
- 0:16Speaker 2: how I was living. It so captures the feelings that
- 0:22Speaker 2: I had about beginning on the pathway of my dreams.
- 0:27Speaker 2: It so describes how I felt when I was about
- 0:32Speaker 2: to attempt something. And I have some striking news for you.
- 0:36Speaker 2: It describes often how I feel still today to a degree.
- 0:42Speaker 2: So let me tell you what that is. Here's an
- 0:44Speaker 2: analogy that I've heard a couple of different ways, but
- 0:49Speaker 2: I've kind of, you know, fixed it around to where
- 0:52Speaker 2: I can drink it better, and I think it fits
- 0:55Speaker 2: my personality to describe it to people best this way.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Talked often about the urgency of doing something with your life,
- 1:05Speaker 2: of getting started today, of stopping the procrastination and putting
- 1:10Speaker 2: it off, and waiting on all your ducks to line
- 1:13Speaker 2: up in a row, and waiting until the.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Stars aligned themselves.
- 1:17Speaker 2: If you're waiting on such a thing, you're never gonna
- 1:19Speaker 2: get started. I don't know too many people who can
- 1:22Speaker 2: say that all the ducks just lined up in the row.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Things happen.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Even when you get them lined up, one of the
- 1:29Speaker 2: ducks get out of line, or somebody knock over the domino.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Something happens. But here's the point I'm getting at. God
- 1:37Speaker 2: has so many blessings available to you. You who's listening.
- 1:47Speaker 2: God has so many blessings available to you from where
- 1:51Speaker 2: you are right now. I don't care what you've gotten
- 1:56Speaker 2: yourself into or what you've done. God has so many
- 2:00Speaker 2: blessings that he can send your way.
- 2:04Speaker 1: But you have to do something.
- 2:07Speaker 2: See a lot of people just sit around and go man,
- 2:11Speaker 2: I don't know, and something always happening to you. You're
- 2:13Speaker 2: always getting a break, You're always doing this. You always
- 2:15Speaker 2: doing man, do nothing come my way. Listen to me.
- 2:19Speaker 2: If nothing ever comes your way. You know why that is.
- 2:22Speaker 2: It's because you're not doing anything. I promise you you're not.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Here's a deal. God has all these blessings he wants
- 2:29Speaker 2: to send you, but you got to give him something
- 2:32Speaker 2: to work with. Now, come on, God will bless you.
- 2:37Speaker 2: God can touch people's hearts on your behalf. He can
- 2:40Speaker 2: move situations around for you. He can align the stars.
- 2:44Speaker 2: He can set the ducks up in the row, but
- 2:46Speaker 2: align the stars and move people around, and touch people's
- 2:49Speaker 2: hearts and set the ducks up in the row. For
- 2:52Speaker 2: what have you put forth any effort? Have you made
- 2:55Speaker 2: a single step in any direction to do the right
- 2:59Speaker 2: thing or go to the right way that gives him
- 3:01Speaker 2: something to put his finger on. Come on, man, God
- 3:06Speaker 2: can only bless you according to your faith. If you
- 3:11Speaker 2: have a little bit of faith, give him that, Let
- 3:13Speaker 2: him work with that. You know, man, I didn't.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Always start with these speeches you hear in the morning.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Now. I ain't always had these. I grew to these.
- 3:20Speaker 2: I stumbled my way to these. I messed up my
- 3:24Speaker 2: way to these here. I got it wrong so many
- 3:28Speaker 2: times to be able to sound like I got some sense,
- 3:31Speaker 2: I said it often.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Failure is a wonderful teacher.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Do you know how many times I have had to
- 3:37Speaker 2: have failed to have what I have in my head today?
- 3:40Speaker 2: I'm telling you, man, it's a process. People get mad
- 3:44Speaker 2: at the process. You got to do something to give
- 3:47Speaker 2: God something to work with. He'll bless you. But what
- 3:50Speaker 2: you want me to bless If you ain't putting forth
- 3:52Speaker 2: any effort, you can get blessed from whoever you are
- 3:56Speaker 2: in your life, wherever your starting point is wherever you
- 3:59Speaker 2: find your wound up, you can get it back from there.
- 4:03Speaker 1: I've done it, man, by the grace of God, I've
- 4:05Speaker 1: done it. I got over. Man. I learned some things
- 4:09Speaker 1: along the way. Because here's the deal.
- 4:11Speaker 2: As long as God keeps waking you up in the morning,
- 4:14Speaker 2: he ain't through with you yet.
- 4:15Speaker 1: When he's done, you're done.
- 4:16Speaker 2: But if God still has a plan for you wake
- 4:19Speaker 2: up in the morning, he still got some more work
- 4:21Speaker 2: for you to do.
- 4:22Speaker 1: You wake up in the morning.
- 4:23Speaker 2: So if you keep waking up, man, it's something that
- 4:26Speaker 2: God wants from you, would love to have from you,
- 4:30Speaker 2: and he can work with you, man, if you just
- 4:32Speaker 2: walk towards him a little bit.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Here's the deal.
- 4:35Speaker 2: I know it's hard for the average person to start
- 4:39Speaker 2: because the fear of the unknown is incredible.
- 4:42Speaker 1: What if I fail? What if I don't get picked?
- 4:44Speaker 2: You know, one of the hardest things I ever did
- 4:47Speaker 2: was walking in to quit my job. Oh man, let
- 4:50Speaker 2: me tell you about that day when I decided that
- 4:53Speaker 2: I was gonna be a full time comedian after winning
- 4:56Speaker 2: an amateur night one time. Quitting your job, following your dream,
- 5:02Speaker 2: going for it despite all the nay says, It's like
- 5:06Speaker 2: stepping off a cliff. It's like actually just walking off
- 5:10Speaker 2: the edge of a cliff, hoping, hoping.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Now not really knowing, but hoping.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Hoping is the bad basis of faith. I stepped off
- 5:24Speaker 2: that cliff hoping that my parachute would open and allow
- 5:30Speaker 2: me to drift down.
- 5:33Speaker 1: See.
- 5:33Speaker 2: I've never scott dived before, but I would imagine part
- 5:36Speaker 2: of the thrill. And I don't know this because I'm
- 5:38Speaker 2: not going to scot dive to find out. I think
- 5:42Speaker 2: part of the thrill for people is the danger part
- 5:46Speaker 2: of throwing yourself out a plane and how it feels
- 5:49Speaker 2: to be free falling, but the whole time they're free
- 5:52Speaker 2: falling having this exhilarating over the top moment. You have
- 5:58Speaker 2: got to believe in your heart of heart, you have
- 6:01Speaker 2: got the hope with everything in you that when you
- 6:03Speaker 2: pull this cord the shoot opens or else. This ain't
- 6:07Speaker 2: a good move at all. But you've packed your shoote yourself.
- 6:11Speaker 2: You've taken the lessons, so you go ahead and you
- 6:14Speaker 2: make the leap. Now, the only thing about quitting your
- 6:16Speaker 2: job and following your dream is you ain't really been
- 6:19Speaker 2: trained all that good for this. You done packed your shoot,
- 6:22Speaker 2: but you ain't never opened it before. So I walked
- 6:26Speaker 2: off this cliff. That's what it was like. And you
- 6:28Speaker 2: following your dreamers like you walking off a cliff. Here's
- 6:31Speaker 2: the part where people don't never make the jump. They
- 6:34Speaker 2: see somebody like myself who jumped off the cliff and
- 6:38Speaker 2: the past chute don't open right away, and I hit
- 6:41Speaker 2: a couple of rocks on the way down.
- 6:43Speaker 1: I got my back cut up pretty bad.
- 6:46Speaker 2: They see that three years living in a car, man,
- 6:49Speaker 2: he got in life toe down jumping off that cliff.
- 6:52Speaker 1: I ain't jumping off that cliff. But see what you
- 6:54Speaker 1: don't understand is you don't know it.
- 6:57Speaker 2: But eventually the shoot will open, and I'm at the
- 7:01Speaker 2: parachute opening part of my life, man, where the shoote
- 7:05Speaker 2: then open and I'm drifting and I'm able to guide
- 7:09Speaker 2: my chute over to Paris and glide. I've glided over
- 7:12Speaker 2: the African and seen what it looked like. It's a
- 7:14Speaker 2: slow ride down when the pass chute finally opened or
- 7:18Speaker 2: and my back didn't heal too and the cuts.
- 7:21Speaker 1: That I had on me, I remember now I know
- 7:23Speaker 1: how to stay away from the edge.
- 7:25Speaker 2: But the Paris chute then opened and I'm enjoying my
- 7:28Speaker 2: life for the first time. I'm gliding, but I got
- 7:32Speaker 2: hit up against the rock. I can see more. I
- 7:34Speaker 2: get a chance to see more things. I get to
- 7:37Speaker 2: glide and see more parts of the world. I'm living
- 7:40Speaker 2: my dream. Your parachute is gonna open, but I'll tell
- 7:43Speaker 2: you one thing for shore, It'll never open if you
- 7:45Speaker 2: don't step off that cliff. You got to step off
- 7:48Speaker 2: that cliff. God to get the pasachute open for you.
- 7:51Speaker 2: But you got to jump, baby. That's the hard part,
- 7:54Speaker 2: ain't it now? Question is the end of this story
- 7:56Speaker 2: right here today?
- 7:57Speaker 1: When you jumping, you're listening to the Steve Morning Show.
