A top-ranking Kansas official, Chelsee Chism, economic development director for the Unified Government, faces serious charges after a May 13 crash on U.S. Highway 69 where her blood alcohol level was a shocking .35 — over four times the legal limit. Her Lexus veered off the road at high speed, crashing into a parked KDOT truck and injuring an employee who lost a tooth. Officers found her visibly impaired, and she admitted to driving.
