- 0:13[SPEAKER_00]: The one that we're on, yeah.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we didn't even have a sweet 16 party, or King's in yet on my case.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_01]: What are you?
- 0:20[SPEAKER_01]: 12.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_01]: No, that would be 15, but okay.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: Who?
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: Where?
- 0:26[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: Birthday parties.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: But smart day parties.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_00]: That's not what this.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: That's not what this shows above.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't have a 16 party.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_01]: That mean for a guy.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: Did you do?
- 0:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_01]: I sure did.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_01]: No, yeah, no, that can't do just me, but I still had it.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's see, that's the problem.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: It was just you.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: It was some make make believe Lady McPherson was a lot of fun.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: Fairchild thing.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_00]: It was still a lot of fun.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why I just went to Mr. Rogers, but any other.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: the land to make believe.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: That's why I went there.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: And yes, this is not the land to make believe this is cheesy popcorn.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: Like I said, episode 18, I'm Chris Miles, your co-host.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: You probably know me from other famous wears.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: More specifically, new, I'm music row, which is here every week on the rise in that work as well.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: And of course, and of our is joining me as always, what do you got going on on the rise in that work?
- 1:13[SPEAKER_01]: I got another show on the rise network called can I call you dad and I know people have anxiously been anticipating the last final episode of season two which was a pickable challenge that Andrew made to me and that's in the works folks so it's right after the holidays that they were going to pop that baby up and then we're going to start season three shortly thereafter.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's because it's still pickling.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: it is pickling.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's a pickled pickle.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, exactly.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: One thing that's not still pickling though are the movies that we're going to be reviewing.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: And also talking about the movies that are coming out this week.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: And as always, we have some sort of theme.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to do a little bit of a two thing here.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to do the movies that we saw Where I saw the running man you saw now.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: You see me now.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: You don't we're going to compare them to the originals and see how close they were in that kind of stuff Right and then you had kind of like and I thought that would be like are they as good as the original thing right
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and then he was a good theme.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: No, but yours is yours is as good as well, too.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: So this time you won we didn't do a coin flip.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: We didn't do anything.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: I just I gave in for once and I felt I said I said didn't see that coming is is the name of this episode
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: Because you gave me something to think about and I thought about something and I've got a really good movie for this So we're good.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I got a bunch.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: So speaking of really good movies A couple of really good movies coming out this week is a matter of fact the the biggest one down on the pipeline I think for everyone of course is wicked for good.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: Great.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: I do I need to explain that.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: I guess I don't think so It's it's looking forward to see our real view are on Ariana Grande as in it and she's over the top as Gwendolyn
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: I actually saw the movie the original one where the original wicked right it was on and prime Okay, so we watched it last weekend.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so I hadn't seen it before I forgot how over the top Kristen Chenowworth was in the role and Ariana Grande was even more so
- 3:15[SPEAKER_01]: or the theft to be to be Glenda.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_00]: You do, but you got it.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: There were still things that I just went, okay.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: But we came down to this conclusion.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_00]: I can't stand that character at all.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: You don't like Glenda?
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like the character.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: I do not like the character of Gwendla or Gwendla at all.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: Gwendla?
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: Gwendla.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: whatever.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: See, that's how much I don't like it.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: You can't remember her damn name, but I can tell you the name of the other witch, which is Elcaba.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: I absolutely love the character of Elcaba.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: Elfaba.
- 3:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I didn't see.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: I said that one wrong too.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: It's okay.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: It is Elfaba, but yeah.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_01]: So here's what people don't realize.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's going to be a great movie.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: Here's what people don't realize.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: What don't they realize?
- 3:52[SPEAKER_01]: Even going back to the original Wizard of Oz.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_01]: The bad witch was Glenn.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_01]: Correct.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: You know why?
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: No, but I feel like we're getting set up for something else in the first 30 seconds of the movie.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, she had to do was tell Dorothy the clicker freaking heels three times to go home.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: Instead, she basically conned her into killing the wicked witch for her.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's what she did, which is my opinion.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_00]: Which if you, so here's the interesting thing about those books.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: First of all, the Wizard of Oz is not the correct title.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: The books are called the Land of Oz, correct?
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: And I think there's like five or six, I can't remember the author's name.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: It's Frank something, but interestingly, because we did a little bit of research after we watched Wicked, because there were some questions we had, and it turns out that
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: and took like the stories and then said, well, what happens to like, you know, the bad way to the wicked witch.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: And then that's where wicked came from.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: So it's loosely based off of the original books, but it's a completely different story, so to speak.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, it's the one that everyone's going to go see this weekend.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: Probably because it's probably going to be, I would gather so much to say that it's probably going to be huge next week as well too over the Thanksgiving holiday.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: And rightfully so, I mean, some great, great characters in here, and then of course, some great actresses as well too, you know, I was blown away.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_00]: I am a huge, huge fan of the musical itself, and, you know,
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: There to me there is no one like a data man's out.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: There just isn't and Or is John Travolta-Cvalsor Edinana I can't believe I cannot believe he did that when he did that.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: I believe he's home and I didn't have one again I was like wow, okay, then okay, so wicked and then Zutopia 2 is coming out
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: that's not coming out next week though.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: It's coming out over Thanksgiving.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: That's the following week.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: That's not this week.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: Thanksgiving is next week.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: So it doesn't come out till next Friday.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, but can we talk about that one?
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: Because I want to go see that.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you can go see it.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go see it.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: Well, then you go see it.
- 6:08[SPEAKER_01]: I get to go see my grandson.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_01]: Well, there you go.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: But that's not coming out to Thanksgiving week.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: And.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: But that's a good time to say, but that's a good time to segue to this.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: Now what we talked about before was we talked about that we were going to go see wicked for good, which is why you watch the original way.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: So I think what we'll do is for the next episode, we'll review wicked for good.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: If you go see Zootopia and you want to talk a little bit about that, we'll give you a little bit of time to about that.
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: I am not interested in seeing that movie.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so yeah, but the next one out, which is wake up dead man and knives out mystery.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: That's not that great.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: That's not until Thanksgiving weekend either.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just saying.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just bringing it up.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_01]: There isn't a lot coming out this week that I Well, wicked for good is the movie that's really coming off the stage.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: There isn't up.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: There is there are two other ones though I didn't get the rental family as well.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, would Brendan for Asia happen all over there.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: The air waves talking about that.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_01]: He's such a humble guy, isn't he?
- 7:02[SPEAKER_01]: If you want to call him that okay.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_01]: I think not maybe he's not he seems like such a down the earth.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: I love them in the mummy
- 7:10[SPEAKER_01]: The Mummy movies were great.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: And I can't argue with you with you with that.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: He was absolutely great.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: He was in another movie, too, where they go back.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: He's in a bombshell, too, with Christopher Walken.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_01]: They think there's a third word world war, and they all hide in a, he built that, it built a bunker.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_01]: They all hide there for 20 years.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_01]: And then he finally comes out.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_01]: I can't think of the name of the movie, but it's a really fun movie with him.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: There's only two other movies that I know he was in.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_00]: And one of them was George of the jungle.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: And then the other one was, I think it was called air heads.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_01]: If I remember correctly, he was in of this and that.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know much about his career.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and airheads was like, they were like some sort of like rock band want to be it was like supposed to be like Uh, a take on Bill and Ted's excellent adventure or something like that.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: I'm pretty sure it was called airheads But he was in like those sophomore comedies for the longest time.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_01]: He was in in scene.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but he wasn't the star of in scene.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, man.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: But he was in it.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_01]: Polyshore was he was a star
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'm talking about movies where he's like the star, although I don't know if he was really the star in airheads now that I think about it.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, so yeah, rental man's coming out this weekend.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's about a down to earth actor living in Tokyo, who's hired as a token American guy for a Japanese rental family company, providing professional stand in services.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: It looks funny.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: It's one of those that I'm not going to go out to see in the theaters.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go see wicked for good.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: But like I said, we're taking a couple of weeks off here.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: So we're not going to have an episode next week.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: We will wait a week, two weeks.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: Don't be in Turkey.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: And we'll talk about wicked for good when we come back.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: The other movie that's coming out this week, well, there's two, actually.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: Good boy, which you can see on shutter.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_00]: And then the family plan two, which is on Apple TV exclusively.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't see the first one.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to, I look fun.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm not sure.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: It's, it's, uh,
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: Mark Wahlberg's in it, it follows the Morgan family as they go on a Christmas vacation to Europe, which quickly turns into an action-filled adventure where enemies of Dan's past re-surface.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: It sounds like another nobody to me, except for I think Mark Wahlberg's character has like an actual name, whereas everybody in nobody and nobody, too, they don't really know anything.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: And in nobody, too, they went on a family vacation as well, too.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_01]: So the movie was
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: Blast from the past.
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's a space exit.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's really good.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: We.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to go back to the Brendan Fagerm over there.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_00]: He was talking about just in case you weren't following along with it by the way.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted to digress here.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 9:48[SPEAKER_00]: Clearly.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_01]: We have a critics critic.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_00]: Uh-oh.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_01]: I know I text you a couple times over the past couple days.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: My son was trying to stomp us.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_01]: My son our man who wants to be there ought to repair and down his road by the West.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: God not going to have to.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, he is very upset with us because of our review of a happy good more too, which he thought was fabulous.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: and you and I both gave it a okay not that great kind of movie nowhere near as good as the original since when that subject and so yeah I was at his house Friday and I was texting you as you may recall he was giving me little quotes of movies right and he was admonishing us as as he's how can you be how could you guys be consider yourself movie critics and you didn't like happy game or two
- 10:38[SPEAKER_01]: So did you see everybody had a conversation with them?
- 10:41[SPEAKER_01]: So I will let you respond.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: Did you did you did you did you sit him down to make him watch episodes of sneak previews Like from the past so that he could see how those critics also didn't agree with the the public sometime.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_01]: What about stuff he knows that he's a you know Cisco neighbor and stuff.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_00]: Right, but that's what I mean.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: Like that's the point of being a mode.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_01]: This is specifically talking about our opinion of happy good more to end right with him.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: So opinions are like you know what everyone's got
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: Well, not everyone.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_01]: Some people are born with a no sadly, but yeah.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, so we don't agree.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: We, that's what we don't agree with.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_01]: We get right.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_01]: That's one of the movies you enable with the greed on in terms of it.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_01]: Wasn't as good as to your original.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: No, it was.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_01]: Adam Sandler just kind of seemed to be walking through it.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_01]: That kind of stuff.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_01]: And he vehemently disagreed.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: So I thought we'd do a shout out there.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_01]: Enough of that.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: Don't agree with you.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: I'm happy.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you for indulging and I'm on if you're listening.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_01]: We don't agree with your disagreement of what we agree on it.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: And if you can figure that out.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_01]: Here's your question anyway.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so now you want to go first you want me to go first.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: Well, let's recap the movies that are coming out this week first.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: So we got wicked for good rental family and then family plan 2 and then good boy, which is on shutter.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_00]: So family plan 2 is coming out exclusively to Apple TV So you won't be able to see anywhere.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_00]: So the movies that are in theaters like nationwide release not limited release because remember we don't talk about limited release movies just because you guys can hear this program everywhere
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: uh... wicked for good and rental family are the two that we're talking about and we're going to review wicked for good in a couple weeks we're going to take uh... thanks giving off so that we can spend time with our families and eat a lot of turkey and disagree with other people about what they think about our reviews of movies that they like that we didn't like so there's that and if you if you disagree for this comment we'll look we give you a shout out
- 12:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's, and there's nothing wrong with it, you know, and I'm not trying to sound like, you know, a barrel is an ideal person.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_01]: No, it's just, I mean, mine is most of the time.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we all know that you have to have a center stage.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_00]: So that's the way that it works, but anyway, so we did a little differently this week.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_00]: You, you, you didn't get the whole idea, but you didn't get the whole of my hand on the movie theater and you were very, very upset about that.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_00]: You were very upset
- 12:57[SPEAKER_01]: So we were actually in the same theater.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's the same time.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: We were in the same building.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_01]: We were in the same theater building.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: Different theaters.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_01]: On opposite ends of the building.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_01]: At the same time, we're all the same.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_01]: You paid five and a quarter.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_01]: Or actually I only paid five bucks.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_00]: I only paid five bucks, too.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_00]: I am also a thing.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: I thought it was five in a quarter.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, $7.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_00]: Cinemark, by the way, if seven ridges, cinemark, cinemark itself, the company itself.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_00]: If you were one of their movie club members or whatever, on Tuesdays, they will give you the Tuesday discounted price of $5.50, which is pretty cool.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_01]: How bad?
- 13:34[SPEAKER_01]: No free popcorn though with that.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: Some of the data are do free popcorns.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_01]: Like, Mark is just free popcorn.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_00]: I don't need free popcorn.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: I get popcorn.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I get popcorn too, but free popcorn doesn't matter to me.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: So, you went to go see now.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_00]: You see me?
- 13:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_00]: Now you don't, which was like the third, third in the movie.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_00]: And then I went to see the running man, which is the second.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_00]: it is a remake it's just but I'm saying it's a second time that that movie's been made yes a remake of an original right but the difference is that now you see me now you don't should have expanded on the storyline so to speak whereas that's to be seen what we'll see about that whereas the running man is really just like a remake so to speak so I don't remember who went first last week it doesn't matter i'm already talking so i'm
- 14:23[SPEAKER_01]: We are absolutely like in a marriage where equals.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, then.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_00]: So here's the thing and you're going to be surprised so you better hold on to your seat.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_00]: I absolutely was completely surprised by the running man in a very, very good way.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_00]: that sounds like a twist in a twist in the fact that I said I probably wasn't going to like it and I actually did like it so there's your twist twist twist this take it with your lime too anyway yeah no I was pleasantly surprised okay the cast is really good Glen Powell's greatest better grades Amelia Jones plays well it's not his daughter but she comes later in the film she's
- 15:07[SPEAKER_00]: And then Michael Sarah, I think it's how you say his last name.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_00]: Sarah.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_00]: Sarah.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_00]: Sarah.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_00]: He's in it, which I think isn't he from like, uh, super bad or something like that?
- 15:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think so.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_00]: But he's been, he's been around so much.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_00]: Josh Brolin plays like the evil villain, uh, Dan Killian, which, so here we go with the comparison.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_00]: First of all, the two movies are nothing alike.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: the original let's remind people who were in the first one well i was going to get to that so the original running man which came out in nineteen eighty seven features Arnold Schwarzenegger in the role as band Richards uh... killian is played by Richard Dawson if i remember correctly correct and written and killian actually is the host of the show
- 15:50[SPEAKER_00]: Whereas in this movie, there's another guy, Daniel Ezra, he plays the host of this.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_00]: So there's completely different twists here because in this in the re release or remake, whatever you want to call, Josh Brolin plays Dan Killian, actually, sorry, go back a second.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_00]: Coleman Domingo plays the MC or host of the game show The Running of the Thought.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I got to want to correct you.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: No, I got to wrong.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_00]: I was looking to something else.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_00]: So Josh Brolin, played Dan Killian.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_00]: He's like the CEO of this whole network thing.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_00]: And in the original, the one with Arnold Schwarzenegger, that's where Richard Dawson plays the double roll, so to speak.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_00]: Great.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_00]: The two movies are nothing alike.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_00]: Just at all except for the fact that they're both game shows and the game show is hunt to kill So there's that I remember in the original it was very arena-esque So like every time they're even though it was supposed to be like completely wide open As they would call it in the gaming world like a sandbox type of situation Where you could pretty much go anywhere and do anything that was more so in the remake the tour We'll call it 2025 and we'll go 1997 for that later
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: So in the 87 film, it felt like he was running to specific locations, and every time there was a specific location, there was the hunter going to find him.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_00]: And I remember like, the announcer would get on and be like, and we have Bunch saw.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_00]: And then I forget all the other ones.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_00]: Bye.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_00]: the hunters in the twenty twenty five film only one of them has a name that you learn the rest of them they don't have names you just what's everybody is it i mean it's like anybody there's there's like a group of mercenaries that are there was anybody is uh... up to it that that is true
- 17:34[SPEAKER_00]: in the twenty twenty five but in the in the twenty five that's what I mean in the eighty seven movie that wasn't the case he was that he was running away from these hunters but the public could say things and give tips and all that kind of stuff so there there are a lot of differences between the two movies I was pleased to because I read the book I was pleased I'm pleased to say that the twenty twenty five film is more like the book
- 17:56[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, the rock Arnold Schwarzenegger version is nothing like the book.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_00]: It took the game show and then ran away with it and did all kinds of stuff Because there's a thing about Stephen King Stephen King always has to have has to say something
- 18:09[SPEAKER_00]: he's got to talk about something in society or something like that and the original running man movie didn't really do that it was just kind of I mean it was great don't get me wrong it was a great action flick that Arnold Schwarzenegger was in I don't know it was probably like the 10th or 15th film that he was in yeah came out around the same time as total recall so you know there's that and that was when Dawson was at pretty much the height of his family feud fame I think he was well seen originally
- 18:33[SPEAKER_01]: since we're there.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_00]: Some, uh, hooking terror.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_00]: Hogan's hero is very good.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so yeah.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_00]: So the two movies are completely different.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_00]: This one actually has more of a message inside of it.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_00]: Um, talking about like AI and other stuff.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_00]: So this movie obviously is updated.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_00]: There's some things in this movie that they couldn't do in the original, like a DNA scanner kind of thing and that kind of stuff.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_00]: But this movie was more.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_00]: Um, audience participation, I guess you could say, and I don't mean by the audience sitting like us watching it, I mean the audience watching the actual TV show in the movie.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but like I said, I was very surprised, pleasantly surprised by the movie.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's very entertaining.
- 19:13[SPEAKER_00]: It does not, there's no slow peaks at slow pace.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_00]: Like it just flows.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_00]: And the original running man, there was kind of like a, it got slow at a double appointment.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_00]: But I loved it as a kid because the way that they did the hunters, it made them feel like they were like wrestlers, you know.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_00]: In this one, they're everyday people.
- 19:33[SPEAKER_00]: But they're, you know, executioners shall we say, like we said, you know, mercenaries, things of that nature.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_00]: And then the movie's got some great, you know.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_00]: situations will call it they're not twist because if you've seen the original you know what this movie is going to be about and they're both about the same thing Ben Richards trying to beat the system and come out at the winner in the running man which I will not say what happens or what does it happen but I will say that this movie the 2025 version with Glenn Powell is more like the book than the Arnold Schwarzenegger version now there is an homage to Arnold in this movie he appears on the money which I thought was hilarious
- 20:13[SPEAKER_00]: And like I said, the ending is a little bit different from the book, but it has to be because if you know the book in the way that it ends, it can't really end that way because there's too many coincidences with other real-life situations that have happened before.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_00]: I would give it a seven and a half.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_00]: Let me redo that.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_00]: I'll give it a seven and a half.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's very good.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_00]: It's very entertaining I'm glad like I we had said last week the whole you know what you should pay for it afterwards.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm glad I paid five bucks for it But I think I think as like you know there I realize I don't want to spend 12 dollars on a movie anyway So that's just me
- 20:54[SPEAKER_00]: Is it a good day night movie?
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think so.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_00]: There was a couple.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_00]: There were well, you went with Don.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_00]: Well, there was there was there.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_00]: I She's not she didn't see the original so there's no There was no point even bringing that up.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, um, she thought the movie was entertaining She thought it was hard to to stay on track with a few things.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_00]: She thought it was all over the place But if you've seen the original the original was all over the place
- 21:18[SPEAKER_00]: But that's because they were trying to keep the action there and that kind of stuff.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_00]: But the same thing happens in this movie and the original where you realize that they're literally doing this for ratings and you know, they're going to let him get through some things that he shouldn't have gotten through because they want the show to go on and they want the ratings to go through the room.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_00]: So another, you know,
- 21:38[SPEAKER_00]: message about mass media and stuff like that as well too, but like I said, all in all it's a great flick, it's it's cool to see it on the big screen for sure.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_00]: I probably would watch it again, but if it came out on like cable or something like that or like one of the streets.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_00]: I might because I feel like there's a couple of things I think I missed and then oh we talk about this every once in a while.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_00]: The previews did not give away a lot of the movie which was great and even the scenes that you did see when you saw them there was still stuff that you didn't see in those scenes anyways.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_00]: So the previews were done great.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_00]: So like I said, all in all seven and a half
- 22:22[SPEAKER_00]: it's based on the viewpoint of what they decided to do as far as the actual like message so to speak.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_00]: The first one didn't really have a message to it.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_00]: It did in like corporations and you know how they lied to you and that kind of stuff and that was still here in this movie but this movie goes way beyond that and this one hits home because of what's going on in the world right now too.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah so there we go that was the running man.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_01]: Okay very nice.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_01]: Good review.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_01]: Good review.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: So yes, you do get a pause.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_01]: Now you see me.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_00]: I do because you're sitting right across me.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so so you need to put your hands over your face and go now.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_01]: You don't I know now you see me one
- 23:02[SPEAKER_00]: Good movie as it was great a lot of oh's good move.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_00]: I would say a lot of oh's that's how we're rating stuff now and oh Yes, that we can't do that.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: That's a little We can't now you see me one too many places eight now you see me two a nine now you see me three a 10 opinion my first 10
- 23:25[SPEAKER_00]: wonder if our minds can agree with you on this one.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: He's a now you see me fan too.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_01]: So That's big shoes right there because I didn't think now you see me too was as good as now you see me one.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_00]: Oh I did.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_01]: I thought that escalated and that's what these with the sequels were supposed to do escalate So it's like a comedy so the MC should be funny
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: The middle act should be funnier and the headliner should be funnier.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's the same thing here, I think.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_01]: This is a non-stop movie, like just like you said, runny man and so we're the other two.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think now you've seen me two head to the slow moments.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_01]: But it still was a not pretty much a non-stop.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_01]: This is a non-stop movie.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_01]: There's lots of twists in this movie.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_01]: Things you don't expect to happen happen.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_01]: People you don't expect to show up show up, which is great.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not giving anything away.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_01]: The new characters that they brought in fit like a glove.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_01]: Perfect fit.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_01]: See, I didn't perfect fit.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_00]: And two, I didn't think some of the characters fit in well.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, this, this one they do.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_01]: So that's good to hear.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_01]: I thought the directing was dead on.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_01]: The directing was dead on.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: Every single cut, every single long shot, every single tight to white.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, everything was, whoever, I forgot who directed, whoever directed, it did a really great job of directing it.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_01]: And Roseman Pike, and I hope I'm saying her name right, what a great villain.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, not an over-the-top villain, just if you met her in the street, she'd scared to shit out of you.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_00]: Rubin Flasher, Rubin Flasher is the director of that.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_01]: Excellent.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_01]: A job.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_01]: And I knew it was in anybody that we would know at the top of our, and I should have had it on my list, but Rosamund, and I believe I may say never, she's British actress, and she just played the villain role all the way to the end.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, just perfectly.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_00]: Veronica.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: Varanaka vendor vendor long vendorburg vendorburg.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, beautiful.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_01]: Um, you know, there's there's There's some messaging here.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's not real heavy handed, but there's some South Africa diamond mining Messaging the subliminal here
- 25:41[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, the whole thing of the horsemen is to do correct the wrong.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_01]: That was from the first one, second one, and now this one.
- 25:49[SPEAKER_01]: And this one does it as well as the other two did, if not better.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_01]: Again, with some really, really good twists.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_01]: Woody Harrelson, I mean, anything Woody Harrelson and always has some fun.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_01]: He's just a fun actor.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_01]: There was a very short but still powerful appearance by Morgan Freeman.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_01]: the whoever scouted the locations for this movie did a great job, I mean, when you're watching a movie, you want to feel like you're there and you want to feel like
- 26:22[SPEAKER_01]: There's I can the in the location setting right the set design you know how to set design you get a set design credit a lot of it is you're in a beautiful old castle already There's not a whole lot to set design but someone's got to find that castle right and make it work and wherever did that did great great message about what's kind of it was it the message was great in a subliminal way because it really gave you the
- 26:50[SPEAKER_01]: rich people for the rich people message which you know we're seeing a lot of that today sadly won't go into that too much.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_01]: There's a great tease at the end and I'm not going to tell you what the tease is but don't get up too soon when you see what looks like the end of the movie it's really not the end of the movie.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_01]: I will say straight up don't wait for streaming.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_01]: This is a movie you want to see in a big screen.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_01]: If you don't see them big screen, you're going to be sorry, you didn't see them in a big screen.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_01]: It's not unlike endgame, Avengers Endgame.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_01]: If you didn't see Avengers Endgame on a big screen, you missed out on what the movie, the beauty and the emotion of the movie.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_01]: And in this one, if you don't see them in a big screen, you're going to miss out on the twist.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_01]: I still think it's twist.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_01]: The twist in this movie and the,
- 27:42[SPEAKER_01]: the camaraderie that comes out of this movie.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: And there's a lot of funny moments in this movie.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_01]: There's one scene, and I don't want to give it away, but there's one scene that the director really, I mean, I'm the editor too.
- 27:55[SPEAKER_01]: I should say the editor.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_01]: The editing is spectacular in this movie too.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's a combination.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_01]: Editor's director's really worked together.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_01]: And the cinematography was excellent.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_01]: The lighting, everything.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_01]: But there is a scene about a third of the way.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_01]: Um, we're all the characters in a room and you just got to see the, you got to see the scene.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'll tell you the ending line of the scene.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_01]: Never assume you the smartest guy in the room.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like they said that in one of the other movies.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_01]: They did.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I said.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_01]: But, but they didn't do what they did in this one.
- 28:34[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and all the original characters are back.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_01]: some new ones.
- 28:40[SPEAKER_01]: And the new ones at first, when the new ones are actually the very beginning is like a twist in and of itself.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_01]: The first 20 minutes of this movie?
- 28:52[SPEAKER_01]: was surprised you like the other two didn't in my opinion.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_01]: So don't wait for streaming and go see this movie at a theater, get yourself some popcorn, sit back and enjoy the ride.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_01]: And my guess, my guess is now you see me four, it will be around the corner.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_01]: And if it is, you know, who'll be in the, not the front row, but close it for a row.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_01]: Only because I don't like climbing stairs.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_01]: So no, I go for a row G most at a time.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_01]: He's an OG.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_01]: I'm an OG.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_01]: OG.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_01]: OG.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_01]: So that's my review.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_01]: I liked it a lot.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_01]: I really liked it a lot.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_01]: So I know compared to the, all right, this one compared to one,
- 29:43[SPEAKER_01]: To me, it's like the Godfather.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_01]: The Godfather was great.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_01]: Godfather, too, was greater in my opinion.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_01]: One was great for now you see me.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_01]: Now you see me three is really the best.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_00]: Notice you left the Godfather movie out of there.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_00]: I know that she left the godfather movie out of there out of where out of the curb the comparison thing No, we got father right got father too, and there's another one got father three.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_00]: No, that's a piece of well But so you you go this is the point you're like it's it they should make them they should be greater I think oh, but I didn't say I didn't say that happened with the godfather I said it happened here But that's what I'm saying that's that's not always No, it's not it was a case of godfather is a huge example.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_01]: I mean the sequels
- 30:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's hard to do a sequel.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_01]: Case in point.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we can't more do.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: Right, man.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_00]: Not a great sequel.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_00]: Talk about digging salt in the wound.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_00]: But the thing of it is, is that you saw a sequel.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_00]: I saw a remake.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_00]: So that's why there's kind of a different thing here.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_00]: There is a difference, and that's why, you know, we have come to the portion of the show where now that you've gotten our reviews, and one of us says you need to go see it in the theater.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_00]: The other one's like, I don't know if the big screen did it just as so to speak.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_00]: I thought you were going to go hear it in seven and a half, because you seem so high on it.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_00]: It was great, I love the movie, but it's not perfect.
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: You're like Carrie Ann and dancing with the stars.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you're right.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_01]: I probably won't really move me.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_01]: You made me feel something.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_00]: I can't believe I was almost ready to cry eight All my and if and if you would have made a cry, she probably would have give you a nine and the same thing with this movie If it would have done one more thing, I probably would have given it a nine.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_00]: Okay But no time.
- 31:21[SPEAKER_00]: I don't feel like it's nine-worthy though because the thing of it is is that it's a remake right and it's something and if you saw the original it's
- 31:30[SPEAKER_00]: Everything that happens is extremely predictable and even if you didn't see the original you get the concept and if you're the type of person who likes games like survival games Even board games where you have to like plot out strategy and that kind of stuff You can figure out what's going to happen with this way.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_00]: There's a couple of things you don't see coming.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, there there is one thing I don't want to give it away because it's actually pretty cool So there's one thing that
- 31:56[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't see coming, but you know people are going to help him out because you know there's a good side and there's a bad side, right?
- 32:02[SPEAKER_01]: There's always.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_00]: And so that's that's that situation.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_00]: Plus, if you've seen the original, you know in the original what the network presents to you is not always what really happened, right, which is, which is a running theme between both movies.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_00]: You want to do their running theme?
- 32:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and that's true, that you have to be very careful with what you're watching because sometimes stuff that actually happened is not there and you're watching something that they want you to see.
- 32:30[SPEAKER_00]: So that's that.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_00]: But outside of that, you know, we were going to talk about movies that have a twist that you didn't really see coming And like I said, I don't think running man falls into that.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_00]: I saw the original, so maybe that puts me in a bad scenario because I kind of knew the movie already
- 32:50[SPEAKER_00]: death match game show scenario.
- 32:54[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll go I'll go first and I'll go up with my runner up for greatest movies with a twist that you didn't see coming in mind is going to be fight club.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, because I am like I said I kind of set this up the way I set it up for a reason.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_00]: So when I watch fight club, there were things in that movie I just cannot predict and then the ending I was like
- 33:17[SPEAKER_00]: Like I didn't see that coming from a mile away, but nobody did that, my friends, when fight club came out in like, was it 99?
- 33:25[SPEAKER_00]: Nobody saw that coming.
- 33:27[SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of people would say, yeah, I didn't even like, no way.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_00]: No way did I see that coming.
- 33:33[SPEAKER_00]: And that's the same thing here with fight club.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_00]: So it's a great flick.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_00]: If you haven't seen it, it's available streaming all over the place.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_00]: It is probably the only.
- 33:41[SPEAKER_00]: well there's two bread pit movies that I would recommend and and you know me I'm not a huge bread pit fan I can't stand him in seven that boxing at the end with the head is absolutely ridiculous I don't I don't think he ever cared for one of the Paul Charles even even in real life I don't think he did because if you care about somebody and now you're picturing that person's head in a box you should be
- 34:03[SPEAKER_00]: dying inside.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_00]: He wasn't dying.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_00]: He was like, okay, now I got to fall down to my knees and make it look like I care.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_00]: You know, and I think I said this too in when we talked about seven the first time.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think they were literally going through the breakup in that movie and that's why he did what he did.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_00]: And if that's what's going on, then I can give him a little bit of possibility there or plausibility there because, okay, fine, if you were breaking up with
- 34:31[SPEAKER_00]: like you care.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, that's my runner up.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_00]: What's your runner up?
- 34:35[SPEAKER_01]: My runner up, I have two two runner ups, two movies with, well, I mean, the mission and possible series is nothing but twist.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_01]: So, obviously, that's got to be a runner up.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_01]: Because there's, I mean, everything in that movie is a twist.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_01]: You think Ethan is dead, he's not dead.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_01]: You think the other guy's dead, he's not dead.
- 34:57[SPEAKER_01]: You think somebody's somebody, they're not somebody.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: Do you think you're in a room that you're not in a room?
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: So that's my runner up.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_00]: But how many times can you do that in a movie before it's the same thing over and over again?
- 35:07[SPEAKER_01]: It is the same thing over and over again.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_01]: But they're entertaining movies.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, are they realistic?
- 35:13[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 35:13[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'm not saying that a movie has to be realistic at all.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm saying we do the same formula
- 35:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, there's, there's, but there's enough differences in each of the mission impossible movies.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_01]: I think that, and there's the directing is so nonstop that you, you know, you never walk out of a mission impossible.
- 35:34[SPEAKER_00]: Talk about situations where we're going to get critiqued on this because I'm already talking bad about mission impossible.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_00]: I know that you are side of the fence, there's three of you, and I'm that side of the fence that do not agree with me about mission impossible.
- 35:45[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm just going to shut up and get someone that before I get, I get lamb.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, that's, that's one runner up, that's my third.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_01]: My second is, uh, and I told you about this movie, I don't know if you've seen it yet.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: Play dirty with Mark Walberg.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's the one.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_00]: No, yeah, I haven't seen it.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_01]: You got to see it.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_01]: It's a really good movie with a with a crazy ending and my top.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe it's because I'm a huge Edward Norton fan and Paji Amadi, Edward Norton and Paji Amadi in the same movie.
- 36:17[SPEAKER_01]: And then the villain that this one who is Rufus Suil, who's also really good, he was the villain in the Mark of Zoro, the second Zoro, with Antonio Benders, played that role really well too.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_01]: But in this row, he really plays a great villain, is the illusionist, have you seen it?
- 36:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, come on.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_00]: I would.
- 36:37[SPEAKER_00]: So here's the thing.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a huge, I'm a huge, I'm a huge, I'm a huge, I'm a huge, who Danny fan.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_00]: OK. And I expected more from that movie.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I know.
- 36:47[SPEAKER_00]: What I wanted.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_01]: So that's just that movie.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_01]: That movie, right?
- 36:52[SPEAKER_01]: I was Paul Giamati in that movie when I saw it the first time.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_01]: I had not a clue what was going on.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_01]: And then at the end, when Paul Giamati puts it together as the inspector,
- 37:04[SPEAKER_01]: I put it together.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, oh shit.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_01]: It was just, it was a, come on, the illusion this is a great movie.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_01]: You don't like it?
- 37:15[SPEAKER_01]: That's fine, you don't know.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I think I'm confusing this with something else.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_00]: I thought this was supposed to be like the retelling of who Deenie, but it doesn't look like it is.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know if I've seen this.
- 37:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was on my list of stuff to see, but I don't think I ever got there.
- 37:30[SPEAKER_01]: Jessica Beale isn't it?
- 37:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, I think the back.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't see this.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_00]: I'm confusing this with another movie.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_00]: You said see this before we do another show, which was
- 37:39[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, which was supposed to be two weeks to watch this.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_00]: I got to figure out what I'm going to go see.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you texted me every day.
- 37:45[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to take my phone on my sticker with the sun.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_00]: Don't shine.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_00]: I got other movies I got to see.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_00]: Like wicked wicked good.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, wicked.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_00]: Or wicked again or whatever wicked good.
- 37:55[SPEAKER_00]: I like that.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_00]: That's a better title.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_00]: It should be called.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_01]: That's based on the song.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's just a wicked good movie with it too.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_00]: So since you had to runner up, you made me think about another movie with the twist that you don't see coming until the very end and even at the end you don't see a coming and that's because I see dead people.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_00]: So the sixth sense is going to be my runner up third.
- 38:16[SPEAKER_00]: So third place, third place will go to
- 38:19[SPEAKER_00]: No, third place will go to six cents, second place will go to find a fight club, but then the movie that I'm going to pick for you don't see this coming the crying game.
- 38:33[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, because nobody saw that ending coming and and everybody kept the quiet and everybody kept quiet and everybody kept quiet and they stayed quiet for a very long time and people kept the mouth shut.
- 38:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, and it's they quiet for a very long time and I think when you think of movies that have that oh my God, I never saw that coming to me.
- 38:50[SPEAKER_00]: That's one of the biggest movies.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_00]: Is it a great movie?
- 38:53[SPEAKER_00]: It's okay.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_00]: But the ending.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I give you six cents too.
- 38:58[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly amazing.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_01]: I love six cents.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_01]: I told you six four.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_01]: I thought I should have won the asker.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_00]: So six cents.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_00]: So that's the thing about Shamalan.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_00]: He's got some great movies.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_01]: That's his best.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if it's his best.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_00]: Because and what is there?
- 39:11[SPEAKER_00]: The village?
- 39:12[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_00]: No, no.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_00]: So we were talking about Edward Norton, right?
- 39:18[SPEAKER_00]: And I think I might be confusing now this actor with somebody else.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_00]: I pretty sure I am now.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_00]: But then his next movie after that was unbreakable.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_00]: which was, which was okay.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_00]: It was okay.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't like, it was not like, it was not six sentences.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_00]: And then the movie we got after that was pretty good.
- 39:39[SPEAKER_00]: And then the movie we got after that, I think was the village and the village was just, ugh.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_00]: And then there was another, so what I'm trying to say, Shaman's got this good.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_00]: The one with the aliens, where it's science.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_00]: Science.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_00]: That one was okay, too.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_00]: Was it just good as six ends?
- 39:53[SPEAKER_00]: But that's what I'm saying about Shaman.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_00]: He had the great movie, then a sucking movie, then a good movie, then a sucking movie.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_00]: Did you see glass?
- 40:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, so glass is amazing.
- 40:06[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's good.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know when that's more so than in six cents.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's totally better than six That because it builds up on the unbreakable storyline and then it's not Norton That's not the guy that plays the the lead film.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it's what we'll call him back But there's I believe even after glass.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_00]: There's another movie too that
- 40:30[SPEAKER_00]: that is out there as well.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_00]: I'm almost positive this is like a trilogy of movies.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know if the last one has come out yet or not.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_00]: But you've got unbreakable, which is the one that kind of sets it up.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_00]: That's the one with Bruce Willis and Chamel Jackson.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_00]: And then you've got glass.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's not glass.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_00]: So glass.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_00]: And then to me, the movie, this is the movie I'm
- 40:55[SPEAKER_00]: Split yes, oh my god split is absolutely amazing.
- 41:00[SPEAKER_00]: So glasses glasses the movie that sets up split And at the very ones glass first if you haven't seen glass you need to see it because it's pretty good because the character that is in split Uh-huh oh my god.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's split.
- 41:12[SPEAKER_00]: That's the movie that I was talking about split.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's phenomenal.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_00]: Okay
- 41:16[SPEAKER_00]: James McEve plays or McEve, sorry, plays the lead, and to me, that's one of those oh my god movies.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's also M. Light Shyamlan, it's the sequel to Glass, and then course class is an off-shoot a sequel of Unbreakable.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_00]: So there's his like three movies in a row kind of thing, but to me,
- 41:38[SPEAKER_00]: McAvoy.
- 41:39[SPEAKER_00]: Oh my god.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_00]: He is amazing in this movie.
- 41:43[SPEAKER_01]: I have to look up.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_01]: I have to watch glass first now, apparently.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you can watch the illusionist.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_01]: Otherwise, I'm not going to watch you either, though.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_00]: Fine.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_00]: I will watch it even if I lied to you and say that I did.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, no.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_00]: do what you want and it's that's that's the cool thing about this show you don't have to listen to us You don't have to agree with us.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_00]: Well, you don't have to agree for your your listen for for your ego But what I was going to say is you don't have to listen to our recommendations That's what I was trying to sell you don't have to go by what we say go see a movie if you like the actors are exactly or the idea of the movie but
- 42:17[SPEAKER_01]: you know we're just trying to give you an honest opinion for two guys who have been around movies and I worked at ABC for for so many years you worked in radio for so many years it's not like we don't have some knowledgeable, usable, verifiable background in what we're talking about.
- 42:35[SPEAKER_00]: or do we.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think the jury still out on that.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think that we have enough life experience of seeing enough movies.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_00]: We've been in and around TV studios and in and around theaters like actual live theaters.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_00]: Correct.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_00]: We have director.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_00]: I've acted.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_00]: You've done.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_00]: I've directed and
- 42:52[SPEAKER_00]: active and you know produce of the all kinds of stuff.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_00]: So we've been in the industry for a while, and that's why we kind of have a opinion about things is the way that we'll put it.
- 43:02[SPEAKER_00]: So that's it.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_00]: That's it.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_00]: That's the show.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_00]: Like I said, I think we I think we both agree that you should see the movies that we talked about.
- 43:10[SPEAKER_00]: I reviewed the running man.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_00]: You reviewed.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_01]: I think you should see now you see me in a theater though.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but what you said, so that's what I think there we go next week.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_00]: No show next week.
- 43:23[SPEAKER_00]: No show.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_01]: No show because of the holiday count your blessings.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_01]: Happy Thanksgiving.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_00]: Happy Thanksgiving.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_00]: Happy Thanksgiving to everybody.
- 43:29[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_01]: As we say, remember you don't run from the storm.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_01]: You learn how to dance in the rain.
- 43:34[SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_00]: And then we'll be back in two weeks.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_00]: We'll give you a really good wicked review.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_00]: We can see what I did there.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_00]: There we go.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_00]: Running with that.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's a wicked review.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_00]: So that's going to do it.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to do it for the show.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to take a week off.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's stuff our bellies full of turkey.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_00]: But we'll be back in the theaters fairly soon.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_00]: And when we are, say with some popcorn, some cheesy popcorn.
