- 0:05Speaker 2: Well, another freezing cold data today. It's just I like
- 0:11Speaker 2: to walk outside. I like to walk for miles outside.
- 0:14Speaker 2: But it was not easy yesterday or today. You can
- 0:19Speaker 2: hear now it's good. You get used to it. It's a
- 0:21Speaker 2: fun walking out there in the cold. Your nose goes
- 0:24Speaker 2: crazy and you can't take anywhere. But and I saw
- 0:26Speaker 2: Sean Hannity yesterday. You know he's in Florida now, but
- 0:29Speaker 2: he came to New York and they get that Florida look.
- 0:33Speaker 2: He's got that Florida look, which like the perfect sun tan,
- 0:37Speaker 2: and you know they look more relaxed. I guess that's good.
- 0:43Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 0:44Speaker 2: I don't want the perfect suntan. I don't want to
- 0:46Speaker 2: look that relaxed. I like to have that New York
- 0:49Speaker 2: you know, that freezing cold face and uh yeah, all
- 0:54Speaker 2: riled up, kind of New York attitude. But he looked great,
- 0:58Speaker 2: and of course you can him here today three to
- 1:01Speaker 2: six on WOR. Let's see now in in Chicago, they
- 1:07Speaker 2: got snow and everything. So Ice agents were there going
- 1:12Speaker 2: after a dangerous criminal who's an illegal alien. He got
- 1:16Speaker 2: in under Biden and he was in fact and the
- 1:20Speaker 2: bidenminstration they actually did have this guy was so bad
- 1:22Speaker 2: and such a criminal. They did arrest him at the
- 1:24Speaker 2: border and he had entered the country illegally. This is
- 1:27Speaker 2: twenty twenty three in the Biden years. But the Biden
- 1:30Speaker 2: deministration released them. They released them. They even granted him
- 1:34Speaker 2: temporary protected status. So he's a dangerous criminal gang member.
- 1:39Speaker 2: He's from that TDA trend to AGUAD. He's a gang,
- 1:43Speaker 2: I mean, the most violent, awful gang. He's a member
- 1:46Speaker 2: of the gang. So he's in Chicago. They're there to
- 1:48Speaker 2: arrest him. They got him on a traffic stop. Ice
- 1:52Speaker 2: was going to arrest the guy at this traffic stop.
- 1:55Speaker 2: So what he did was he smashed his car into
- 1:58Speaker 2: one of the ICE agency vehicles, which made it careene
- 2:02Speaker 2: into a tree. I mean, this is like a blue
- 2:04Speaker 2: Blood's chase scene. He then fled on foot after the crash.
- 2:10Speaker 2: ICE agents chased him. He barricaded himself into a stranger's apartment. Now,
- 2:16Speaker 2: if you didn't know, I think you could tell this
- 2:18Speaker 2: as a criminal. You know, normally on a traffic stop,
- 2:21Speaker 2: you stop. This guy instead drives his car right into
- 2:24Speaker 2: their car and makes him crash into a tree. He
- 2:27Speaker 2: jumps out of his car, runs runs into a stranger's
- 2:31Speaker 2: apartment and barricades himself in there. I think you can
- 2:35Speaker 2: be pretty sure this is a criminal. So ICE is
- 2:37Speaker 2: trying to go after this guy. But it's Chicago, and
- 2:39Speaker 2: a large crowd forms outside and starts throwing things at
- 2:44Speaker 2: the ICE agents start throwing rocks, snowballs, other projectiles. Well,
- 2:50Speaker 2: but you do have the police in Chicago that says
- 2:53Speaker 2: local police refuse to assist or do anything. That's Chicago
- 2:59Speaker 2: for you. This is the Democrats of today. And you know,
- 3:03Speaker 2: if that were your neighborhood, this guy's may remember the
- 3:06Speaker 2: most dangerous gang. His behavior on a traffic stop gives
- 3:09Speaker 2: you an idea what he's like. Wouldn't you want that
- 3:11Speaker 2: guy removed from your neighborhood. Would you want him to
- 3:14Speaker 2: still live around the block from you. No, But they're
- 3:17Speaker 2: fighting the ICE agents to stop them from taking this
- 3:20Speaker 2: guy away. You know President Trump got he didn't get
- 3:25Speaker 2: the Nobel Peace Prize that he's so deserved, but he
- 3:27Speaker 2: got the FIFA World Cup FIFA Peace Prize. They decided
- 3:32Speaker 2: to award him one. That's nice, not for CNN. Jake
- 3:36Speaker 2: Tapper goes on CNN yesterday attacking, viciously attacking FIFA, calling
- 3:42Speaker 2: their peace prize a joke, ridiculous, it's not legitimate. This guy,
- 3:48Speaker 2: this Jake Tapper, who tries to occasionally pass himself off
- 3:52Speaker 2: as a journalist. He tries to pretend he's doing some
- 3:54Speaker 2: sort of a news show, going into a tirade denouncing FIFA,
- 4:00Speaker 2: attacking their peace prize. What does this have to do
- 4:03Speaker 2: with doing the news on CNN. I don't know. But
- 4:07Speaker 2: CNN is part of Warner Brothers and Discovery at the
- 4:11Speaker 2: company that's going to be taken over by Netflix, but
- 4:15Speaker 2: probably not. Netflix won the bidding at almost thirty one
- 4:21Speaker 2: dollars a share, which means it would take over Warner Brothers,
- 4:25Speaker 2: which includes CNN, includes HBO, includes the biggest movie studio
- 4:29Speaker 2: in Hollywood, all sorts of stuff. But I don't think
- 4:32Speaker 2: Netflix is going to end up with it. I think
- 4:34Speaker 2: this deal's going to fall through and paramount the original
- 4:37Speaker 2: bidder who had been too low. I think in the
- 4:40Speaker 2: end they'll end up with it. I think they'll end
- 4:43Speaker 2: up with it because Warner Bros. Might have agreed to
- 4:50Speaker 2: the Netflix takeover, might have signed off on it, but
- 4:53Speaker 2: that was the people that run it. That wasn't the shareholders,
- 4:56Speaker 2: and the shareholders are upset. They felt it should have
- 4:59Speaker 2: gotten a higher price. They still think it should have
- 5:01Speaker 2: been more like thirty five dollars this year, not thirty.
- 5:05Speaker 2: So they're pushing to have this deal undone shareholders of
- 5:08Speaker 2: a big say in this. President Trump has indicated he'd
- 5:12Speaker 2: rather have Paramount. He's close to friends with the Paramount CEO,
- 5:16Speaker 2: the Ellisons also friends with the Netflix. But Netflix the
- 5:20Speaker 2: bid was too low. They may have to increase it,
- 5:23Speaker 2: but it may also just go to Paramount. They may
- 5:25Speaker 2: end up taking it over. Now, how can you do
- 5:28Speaker 2: that when they already made an agreement with the other Well,
- 5:31Speaker 2: they would have to break the Netflix agreement. And there's
- 5:34Speaker 2: a penalty clause of two point eight billion. But if
- 5:38Speaker 2: Paramount agrees to pay the penalty, then that solves that
- 5:42Speaker 2: problem right there. And you're talking about an eighty five
- 5:45Speaker 2: billion dollar deal, So two point eight billion is just
- 5:47Speaker 2: a tiny percentage. So I think they're going to think,
- 5:51Speaker 2: I bet your Paramount ends up with it. Now there's
- 5:53Speaker 2: all fake news is going after Paramount saying they've made
- 5:56Speaker 2: some sort of deal with Trump promised to make radical
- 5:59Speaker 2: changes at Sea. Well, first of all. CNN is a tiny,
- 6:04Speaker 2: little nothing part of this company. It's not doesn't make
- 6:06Speaker 2: any real revenue for the company. It gets no ratings,
- 6:10Speaker 2: it has no viewers. And by the way, if anybody
- 6:12Speaker 2: bought the company, the first thing you would logically do
- 6:16Speaker 2: is make radical changes. At CNN. You'd look at it
- 6:19Speaker 2: and say, wait a minute, you're in last place and
- 6:20Speaker 2: you have no ratings. Of course you got to make
- 6:23Speaker 2: radical You can't do what you can't keep doing what
- 6:25Speaker 2: you're doing. You're in last place and nobody's watching. You've
- 6:28Speaker 2: got to make changes. So any logical owner would have
- 6:32Speaker 2: to have to make some changes there. Hey, over at
- 6:35Speaker 2: CBS News, they're getting rid of the anchors on the
- 6:38Speaker 2: nightly network News. It's Maurice du Bois and who's the
- 6:43Speaker 2: other guy, John Dickerson. Two nice guys. They're very the competent,
- 6:48Speaker 2: but they're not major league anchor people. They're not you know,
- 6:51Speaker 2: Brian Williams, they're not David muh Or. They're not in
- 6:55Speaker 2: that league. Maurice du Bois with the local channel two
- 6:58Speaker 2: anchor John Dickon is like a third string face the
- 7:03Speaker 2: nation kind of a host. So they're gonna they've already
- 7:07Speaker 2: picked a guy. It's somebody from CBS News whose name
- 7:10Speaker 2: I can't remember. He's on one of theays. I think
- 7:12Speaker 2: he's on the morning show. He's a very good looking anchor.
- 7:16Speaker 2: He said. I think they've decided let's copy David Newer
- 7:19Speaker 2: because that's the number one show on television, the ABC
- 7:23Speaker 2: Evening News with David Muir, number one show in all
- 7:27Speaker 2: of television primetime everything. Why, well, it's different from the
- 7:31Speaker 2: other evening news shows in that it's slicker. It's really
- 7:35Speaker 2: fast moving at disc keeps moving. It's not that political.
- 7:38Speaker 2: It's political, but there's a million other things. It kind
- 7:41Speaker 2: of looks like TMZ or Entertainment Tonight. It really moves,
- 7:44Speaker 2: and the anchor is just a really handsome, good looking guy.
- 7:47Speaker 2: It's very you know, slick. It's much slicker. So I
- 7:51Speaker 2: think they've decided to go in that direction. So they
- 7:53Speaker 2: got a new anchor whose name I don't remember. I
- 7:56Speaker 2: could look it up, but what's the difference. You're not
- 7:57Speaker 2: gonna remember his name either, but he looks very good.
- 7:59Speaker 2: He looks like David Muir. So they'll probably get some
- 8:02Speaker 2: producers in there, could make it faster, tighter, good looking anchor,
- 8:06Speaker 2: so the little copy, David Muir, that's a good idea.
- 8:08Speaker 2: It makes sense. Barry Weiss is now running CBS News
- 8:14Speaker 2: is going to slowly but surely change everything there. They're
- 8:17Speaker 2: going to change all the sixty minutes people. She wants
- 8:19Speaker 2: to get rid of what they call the programs older correspondence.
- 8:26Speaker 2: They're all like eighty five years old, so expect them all,
- 8:29Speaker 2: one by one to get taken out. Scott Pelly, Leslie Stall,
- 8:33Speaker 2: Bill Whittaker, so they'll all go. And now she's already
- 8:39Speaker 2: made a big higher ABC News Matt Gutman, you know,
- 8:42Speaker 2: the reporter Matt Gutman. She's very high on him. She
- 8:46Speaker 2: wants him to take quote a major role at CBS.
- 8:52Speaker 2: He'll be the new host of forty eight hours. Well
- 8:55Speaker 2: she hadn't said host, but she'll be the big part
- 8:57Speaker 2: of big star of forty eight hours. Nowan's reporter with
- 9:01Speaker 2: a lot of experience, international correspondent, all sorts of stuff.
- 9:04Speaker 2: But his real thing is he's a crime expert, real crime.
- 9:08Speaker 2: And he hosted that podcast, True Crime podcast that was
- 9:13Speaker 2: top rated. And I think that's what she wants for
- 9:16Speaker 2: forty eight hours. You know when it comes to all
- 9:17Speaker 2: these podcasts, Well, now there's a million big podcasts, but
- 9:21Speaker 2: you know in the beginning, the biggest podcast where those
- 9:23Speaker 2: crime podcasts. Remember, that's what everybody would listen to. They
- 9:28Speaker 2: would tell you, well, you got to listen to this.
- 9:29Speaker 2: It's a ten part series about remember the killing by
- 9:33Speaker 2: the River in Utah ten years No, I don't, but
- 9:36Speaker 2: they would listen to this ten part podcast on it.
- 9:38Speaker 2: So that's what this guy specializes in. She thinks forty
- 9:41Speaker 2: eight hours should be doing that. She's probably right. So
- 9:47Speaker 2: he'll be Matt Gutman of ABC and his big, big,
- 9:49Speaker 2: major hire. But slowly but surely she'll change everything over
- 9:53Speaker 2: there at CBS and get rid of all those people
- 9:57Speaker 2: over there. Let's see the Ukraine. Zelensky says he is
- 10:02Speaker 2: not interested in giving up any territory at all. Well,
- 10:05Speaker 2: that throws a huge monkey wrench into the peace talks,
- 10:08Speaker 2: because that was the big part of it, that both
- 10:11Speaker 2: sides have to make some concessions. One is Ukraine would
- 10:14Speaker 2: have to concede a little territory. But uh uh, he says,
- 10:20Speaker 2: absolutely no. This is all probably just negotiating. In the end,
- 10:22Speaker 2: you'll have to give up something. It's going to take
- 10:24Speaker 2: longer than we thought. A lot of people thought it
- 10:26Speaker 2: might get done by the end of the year. But
- 10:28Speaker 2: that's not gonna happen. Hey, Alina Habba has to step
- 10:31Speaker 2: down as the US attorney. You know the way this
- 10:34Speaker 2: works because you hear this all the time when the
- 10:37Speaker 2: fake news gets in the middle of it because a
- 10:40Speaker 2: Trump appointed judge ruled that, or the a Trump appointed
- 10:44Speaker 2: US attorney. Well, when you hear a Trump appointed judge,
- 10:48Speaker 2: it had nothing to do with Trump. He didn't know
- 10:49Speaker 2: the judge. He didn't pick the judge. What usually happens
- 10:53Speaker 2: is even with US attorneys, it's normally the case that
- 10:57Speaker 2: I mean sometimes Trump will pick a US attorney, you know,
- 10:59Speaker 2: like they're in district here in New York. But most
- 11:01Speaker 2: of the time when you need to pick judges or
- 11:04Speaker 2: US attorneys, the local senators, the state senators pick the person.
- 11:09Speaker 2: The two senators of the state, they recommend them the
- 11:11Speaker 2: president ninety eight percent of the time, the President goes
- 11:14Speaker 2: along with it. Very rarely do they object. It's called
- 11:16Speaker 2: a blue slip. The senators of the state have to
- 11:19Speaker 2: pick the person. So they didn't pick Alina Habba. The
- 11:24Speaker 2: Senate will not confirm her. That's why it's not going
- 11:27Speaker 2: to work. And Trump talked about this dumb blue slip
- 11:30Speaker 2: thing they have. You've got a blue slip thing. That's horrible.
- 11:33Speaker 2: It's a horrible thing.
- 11:35Speaker 3: It makes it impossible to appoint the judge or US
- 11:38Speaker 3: attorney and it's a shame and the Republicans should be
- 11:41Speaker 3: ashamed of themselves that they allowed us to go on
- 11:44Speaker 3: because I can't appoint a US attorney that's not a Democrat.
- 11:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean sometimes it makes sense because Trump would
- 11:50Speaker 2: know any of these people, and he's so far removed
- 11:52Speaker 2: from the state or whoever the president is. He's you
- 11:55Speaker 2: let the local people recommend. But it's a problem if
- 11:57Speaker 2: you got like a sleazy, slimy Chuck Schumer doing the picking.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Or look at Connecticut you got the two dirtiest, sleaziest senators,
- 12:06Speaker 2: Chris Murphy and that lying rotten Bloomenthal. Can you imagine
- 12:10Speaker 2: leaving up to them to pick a US attorney. But
- 12:12Speaker 2: that's the system. I think I know.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Why they did that, to protect their ass Okay, and
- 12:16Speaker 3: that's why they did that, But it should be done
- 12:21Speaker 3: away with.
- 12:22Speaker 2: I want to be able to.
- 12:23Speaker 3: Appoint great that most highly educated, the most respected people.
- 12:27Speaker 3: They can't keep that Jebs.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Yeah, no, he may be right. That's why they always
- 12:31Speaker 2: are careful who senators want to pick.
- 12:32Speaker 3: It.
- 12:32Speaker 2: They pick somebody they know who will never come after them,
- 12:36Speaker 2: and that's the idea. So fake news goes after Elena hobbit.
- 12:39Speaker 2: This is there's no experience, he's never been a prosecutor. Never. Well,
- 12:42Speaker 2: that's pretty normal for US attorneys. Remember Chris Christy was
- 12:46Speaker 2: the US attorney. He'd never been in the court room
- 12:48Speaker 2: in his life when he was appointed US attorney. Never
- 12:52Speaker 2: wasn't a prosecutor when he was appointed. He's a big,
- 12:54Speaker 2: big campaign donor in Bundler. So as a reward, they
- 12:57Speaker 2: made a US attorney with no experience as a prosecutor.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Haba was a major partner to major law firm where
- 13:04Speaker 2: she did it was civil litigation, but a lot of
- 13:07Speaker 2: that was about white collar crime, fraud, that sort of stuff.
- 13:10Speaker 2: So Haba actually qualified.
- 13:12Speaker 4: Yeah, Alena Habba says she's stepping down as US Attorney
- 13:15Speaker 4: for the District of New Jersey after the courts disqualified her.
- 13:18Speaker 5: Do you have any comment on that.
- 13:19Speaker 3: Which she's not disqualified.
- 13:21Speaker 2: You've got a blue slip thing.
- 13:22Speaker 3: That's horrible.
- 13:23Speaker 2: It's a horrible thing. It makes it.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Impossible to appoint a judge or US attorney. And it's
- 13:29Speaker 3: a shame, and the Republicans should be ashamed of themselves
- 13:33Speaker 3: that they allowed us to go on.
- 13:35Speaker 2: You know, fake news does that a lot if they
- 13:37Speaker 2: don't like so if they don't like Pete Hagsith, you
- 13:39Speaker 2: hear that a lot. And he was never qualified to
- 13:42Speaker 2: be Secretary of Defense. You hear these senators, these low
- 13:44Speaker 2: lifes on these talking heads. He shouldn't have been a
- 13:48Speaker 2: point in the first place. He had no qualifications. He
- 13:51Speaker 2: has more qualifications to be Secretary of Defense than half
- 13:54Speaker 2: of the secretaries of Defense we've had. Many of them
- 13:57Speaker 2: had no experience. You know that Chuck Hagel was congressman
- 14:00Speaker 2: all his life and less aspen. He was a college
- 14:04Speaker 2: professor when he was appointed secretary to most of these
- 14:08Speaker 2: secretary defenses don't have a lot of exits. Had a
- 14:11Speaker 2: lot of military experience when he got appointed. So Matt
- 14:17Speaker 2: Lower wants to more talk about this comeback than Matt
- 14:20Speaker 2: Lower come back. Now he's apparently it's the girlfriend pushing this.
- 14:24Speaker 2: The girlfriend is also a publicist, so she wants him
- 14:28Speaker 2: to come back. And since she's a publicist, she knows
- 14:30Speaker 2: how to plant all these stories, all over the place,
- 14:33Speaker 2: trying to engineer this comeback, come back for what. I
- 14:36Speaker 2: don't know what. He's going to come back to the
- 14:38Speaker 2: Today Show, I don't think so he can't take him
- 14:40Speaker 2: back there. I mean, it's a cuomo trying to make
- 14:43Speaker 2: a comeback. You left in disgrace, you left under a
- 14:46Speaker 2: cloud of terrible scandal, and in the case of Matt Lower,
- 14:50Speaker 2: it was real scandal, real sexual harassment stuff, real problem.
- 14:55Speaker 2: So who's going to bring him back? And for what reason?
- 14:58Speaker 2: You know, you know, if it's like Lewis c k well,
- 15:04Speaker 2: you know, there's the reason to bring him back. Guy.
- 15:07Speaker 2: The guy was funny. He was really funny and a
- 15:09Speaker 2: lot of stuff, had a lot of talent. So maybe
- 15:14Speaker 2: he's a question mark on this guy, but boy was
- 15:16Speaker 2: he good. Let's bring him back? Or Kevin Spacey, you know,
- 15:19Speaker 2: why would you bring this guy?
- 15:20Speaker 6: Well?
- 15:20Speaker 2: Because he was pretty talented. Watch him in what's the
- 15:23Speaker 2: TV show? He did House the Cards or other stuff.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Guy's really talented. No, let's maybe you bend the role
- 15:30Speaker 2: that we'll bring him back because he's really talented. Case
- 15:33Speaker 2: of Matt Lower, you can't say he's really talented. He's
- 15:37Speaker 2: I mean, he was a pleasant guy. He was nice looking.
- 15:40Speaker 2: You know, he's older now he's not so hot looking anymore.
- 15:43Speaker 2: And he's basically he would read the teleprompter. I mean,
- 15:47Speaker 2: he's not a talented guy. I mean, there's no Matt
- 15:50Speaker 2: Lower videos going viral because he was so brilliant. I
- 15:52Speaker 2: mean to bend the rules for him, I don't think so.
- 15:58Speaker 2: I don't know. We'll take some calls in a minute.
- 15:59Speaker 2: Eight hundred three to two one zero seven tennis number. Oh,
- 16:03Speaker 2: we'll get to Frank Sinatra coming up, but we'll take
- 16:05Speaker 2: some calls next eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
- 16:11Speaker 2: Get instant access to Mark by setting a free set
- 16:14Speaker 2: in the iHeartRadio app for his live show and his podcast.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Now back to the Mark Simone Show on wr Hey,
- 16:23Speaker 2: we'll take some calls. Eight hundred three to two one
- 16:27Speaker 2: zero seven ten is remember, let's go to Joel in Florida. Joel,
- 16:30Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 16:32Speaker 5: Good morning Mark again, Good morning Vincent, Good morning Marret.
- 16:35Speaker 5: Just have a question for you.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Mark.
- 16:36Speaker 5: Over the weekend, Rosie o'donald, while in Ireland, said that
- 16:39Speaker 5: he believes that President Schrump should be taken out, and
- 16:43Speaker 5: there are other Democrats that have said the same. Given
- 16:45Speaker 5: the fact that he's going to be going back on
- 16:47Speaker 5: a junket with going to other cities or the areas.
- 16:50Speaker 5: Has the Secret Service greatly extended to be able to
- 16:53Speaker 5: cover all these visits to these various locations.
- 16:56Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, you get Remember he was a candidate,
- 16:58Speaker 2: that was candidate levels already. Now it's presidential security. In fact,
- 17:02Speaker 2: if you watch the videos of the motorcade even going
- 17:05Speaker 2: from mar A Lago to the golf course, it's like
- 17:07Speaker 2: twenty five cars. It's amazing. It's enormous protection. He's going
- 17:12Speaker 2: to be traveling today to the Pocono's. They're not saying
- 17:16Speaker 2: how he's getting there, which means it's probably not Air
- 17:18Speaker 2: Force one. Sometimes when it's not that far, they'll take
- 17:22Speaker 2: Marine one the helicopter, so it'll be a whole bunch
- 17:25Speaker 2: of helicopters heading there. Let's go to Bob in Bridgeport. Bob,
- 17:28Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 17:30Speaker 1: I'm well Mark a big fan, long time thanks. In
- 17:34Speaker 1: the course of your career, did you ever work with
- 17:36Speaker 1: SUPI sales?
- 17:37Speaker 2: Yes, a million times.
- 17:40Speaker 1: He seems hilarious. I watched some of his old stuff
- 17:42Speaker 1: on YouTube. Did he just do that whole thing by himself?
- 17:47Speaker 2: Well, yeah, he was a very funny guy. He was
- 17:50Speaker 2: a regular guest on this show for years and years
- 17:53Speaker 2: and years and years. In fact, remember I used to
- 17:54Speaker 2: do that Saturday night oldie show.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Fight, I do remember that show.
- 17:59Speaker 2: That was his final publican. His final public appearance was
- 18:03Speaker 2: on that show, and then we lost him. But he
- 18:06Speaker 2: was a very very funny guy. I remember he did
- 18:08Speaker 2: a radio show for years w NBC. Remember it was
- 18:12Speaker 2: I remember that Soupy from ten to.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Two lunch at the Commissary.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Yeah, then it was Soupye and then Howard Stern. That
- 18:19Speaker 2: was quite a lineup back then, but he was He
- 18:21Speaker 2: was a great guy. His wife is still with us, Trudy,
- 18:24Speaker 2: who was a great dancer and performer. Anyway, le's go
- 18:27Speaker 2: to Vincent in Brooklyn. Vincent, how you doing.
- 18:31Speaker 6: Good morning, Mark, Good morning Joe, Good morning Battle Mark.
- 18:34Speaker 6: I loved that Saturday night oldie show used to do.
- 18:38Speaker 6: I would be cooking Saturday night dinner, listen to it.
- 18:41Speaker 6: I loved it.
- 18:43Speaker 5: Mark.
- 18:43Speaker 6: First off, I would like to apologize for during the
- 18:46Speaker 6: course of this past years, I groused that Trump wasn't
- 18:50Speaker 6: doing enough to get rid of congestion pricing. Well, at
- 18:54Speaker 6: the end of last week in the Post. They had
- 18:56Speaker 6: a full page article detailing about Katty Hochel's corrupt judges
- 19:02Speaker 6: are putting the kebash on the Trump administration's efforts to
- 19:08Speaker 6: roll back the congestion price. And Trump said that he's
- 19:12Speaker 6: take them back to consent agreement that Joe Biden did,
- 19:16Speaker 6: and the judges saying he can't, So I apologize.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Also right now they want to leave it there because
- 19:23Speaker 2: it's going to be a factor that works against Kathy
- 19:25Speaker 2: Hochele on reelection.
- 19:27Speaker 6: Well, you saw yesterday in the papers they had this
- 19:29Speaker 6: whole article on the front page story the Post of
- 19:32Speaker 6: how certain police officers are using up official vehicles to
- 19:37Speaker 6: go through the tolls even though they're going home to
- 19:40Speaker 6: evade the toes.
- 19:41Speaker 4: Mark.
- 19:42Speaker 6: This put v to my next thing. Zora Mandani was
- 19:45Speaker 6: on i think on social media or on video whatever
- 19:50Speaker 6: with this message to the illegal migrants, how to avoid
- 19:54Speaker 6: ICE agents, what to do in case you're confronted by them,
- 19:58Speaker 6: and saying this is what a war it looks like. Mark,
- 20:02Speaker 6: this is a big conflict of interest for Jessica Tish.
- 20:06Speaker 6: What is she going to do when there is a
- 20:10Speaker 6: major confrontation where police like what happened in Chinatown last
- 20:15Speaker 6: week have to be called to help ice agents out
- 20:19Speaker 6: just to get out of the building or something where
- 20:21Speaker 6: they're being attacked, like in Chicago. What is she going
- 20:25Speaker 6: to do? She's he is playing her mark. She should
- 20:29Speaker 6: get out. She should follow her brother's lead. Zorah Mandani
- 20:35Speaker 6: is should get out.
- 20:37Speaker 2: Listen. She's not Ray Kelly. She's not the greatest police
- 20:39Speaker 2: commission the world. But she's pretty good.
- 20:41Speaker 6: I know.
- 20:42Speaker 2: If she gets out, you want Mamdani to pick a.
- 20:44Speaker 6: Replacement, Well, you'll watch this. But she's going to ruin
- 20:49Speaker 6: her future. Mark. She already she did a bad thing.
- 20:52Speaker 6: She apologized on behalf of your brother if I ever did.
- 20:56Speaker 2: That, bet Listen. Her future is her ambitions. She wants
- 21:00Speaker 2: to be mayor. She she's not gonna be that great
- 21:01Speaker 2: a candidate. She's not exactly the most exciting dynamic speaker
- 21:05Speaker 2: in the world. And uh, she doesn't have a great
- 21:07Speaker 2: record a police and which a good record, but it's
- 21:09Speaker 2: not a great.
- 21:10Speaker 6: But she's she's she's doing good, but this is gonna
- 21:13Speaker 6: hurt her. You do you think a lot of Jewish
- 21:15Speaker 6: voters they're going to see a flip flopping? What are
- 21:18Speaker 6: you doing where? I mean, it's like, uh, you're.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Gonna see some flip flopping. But we don't want to leave.
- 21:24Speaker 2: She's a good police commissioner and we don't want to
- 21:27Speaker 2: lose her.
- 21:27Speaker 6: All right, Mack, I'll you know, maybe you know something, Uh,
- 21:31Speaker 6: maybe you know something. I don't know the way.
- 21:33Speaker 2: I just know she's tough. She's a very wealthy. She
- 21:36Speaker 2: doesn't need anybody's money, so she's not going to cave
- 21:39Speaker 2: into any special interests.
- 21:40Speaker 6: Uh.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Listen, if if Mom Donnie picks his own guy, that
- 21:45Speaker 2: guy's gonna do whatever he's told by Mom Donnie. You
- 21:47Speaker 2: don't want that, all right?
- 21:49Speaker 6: Well, I'm just talking about the appearance of u of
- 21:52Speaker 6: uh conflict. By the way, Mark, when are they going
- 21:55Speaker 6: to get rid of Andrea Mitchell at NBC?
- 21:58Speaker 2: Uh? You know the problem is that you know she's
- 22:01Speaker 2: like ninety seven and a half. You know, Well, he's
- 22:04Speaker 2: gonna drop that in any second. I mean, why worry
- 22:06Speaker 2: about it?
- 22:07Speaker 6: Of course, you were talking about them getting a rid
- 22:09Speaker 6: of all the old fossils at the other.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Netwell that's CBS. Well, CBS brought in a sane person.
- 22:15Speaker 6: To rut I know, but Andrew Mitchell fits that category,
- 22:18Speaker 6: doesn't she?
- 22:19Speaker 2: Yeah, But at MSNBC still crazy, still nuts. Anyway, thanks
- 22:22Speaker 2: for calling, Vincent, great call. Hey, when we come back,
- 22:24Speaker 2: we'll talk about Frank Sinatra next and other matters with
- 22:28Speaker 2: the owner of Patsy's, the great landmark restaurant. Sal from
- 22:31Speaker 2: Patsy's in a moment on seven ten wor He's more
- 22:36Speaker 2: Mark Okay, So Mark Simone show on seven ten wor Well,
- 22:43Speaker 2: you know Patsy's, the landmark restaurant, fifty sixth Street between
- 22:47Speaker 2: Broadway and Eighth It was Frank Sinatra's favorite restaurant. And
- 22:50Speaker 2: there's a lot to talk about with Frank Sinatra. It's
- 22:53Speaker 2: that time of year. Oh not Christmas. It's Sinatra's birthday
- 22:57Speaker 2: this week. And with us right now, the owner of
- 22:59Speaker 2: pat So you Sal Skygdamilo Sal How you doing?
- 23:03Speaker 4: Hey, Good morning, Mark, Happy holidays, Merry Christmas, buddy.
- 23:07Speaker 2: You too, Frank Sinatra's favorite restaurant. Where do we even start?
- 23:11Speaker 2: Tell us Frank Sinatra's favorite meal? What like if you
- 23:15Speaker 2: went to Patsy's and said to you make me Sinatra's
- 23:18Speaker 2: favorite meal, what would you make?
- 23:20Speaker 4: He liked it the auditchok Reaganot appetizers and then he'd
- 23:24Speaker 4: have some kind of short pasti the pen of Rigatonio
- 23:26Speaker 4: Sperali with the tomato basil sauce, which is onions, no garlic.
- 23:32Speaker 4: If I made a garlic sauce for him, sometimes you
- 23:34Speaker 4: have the clams in the garlic sauce. It would be
- 23:36Speaker 4: the whole garlic. We brace it in the olive oil
- 23:39Speaker 4: and take it out. You see, you had the flavor
- 23:40Speaker 4: and then the edge of tomatoes and clams and white
- 23:42Speaker 4: wine and all the spices. And he loved to from
- 23:46Speaker 4: the main course, the veal and chicken milonnaise. It says scillatini,
- 23:49Speaker 4: very fine flour, sea egg and seasoned bread from fried
- 23:53Speaker 4: pills chris a lit will rouble it, tomato salad and
- 23:56Speaker 4: most importantly red wine, vinegar, no balsonic fan.
- 24:00Speaker 2: Well, that's a very good meal, but if you go
- 24:02Speaker 2: to Patty look at the menu, there's probably twenty five
- 24:04Speaker 2: better things to order there.
- 24:06Speaker 4: That's just well, my favorite I like, I like pastawi chiese.
- 24:09Speaker 4: So my favorite is Rigatoni sonino with the tomato basil.
- 24:14Speaker 4: Regard to Milton Mozela palmachon, all the Pamgan's and Gueeny
- 24:17Speaker 4: with the clamsauce. Popular anything with fish locks to Friday Oblo.
- 24:21Speaker 4: I think it's spectacular, makes a great dish and you know,
- 24:25Speaker 4: just a lot of great Southern Italian classics. The heart
- 24:28Speaker 4: of the menu the same. Only three chefs all these
- 24:30Speaker 4: years was my grandfather, Esqual, Patsy Scott, the Millo, my
- 24:33Speaker 4: dad and myself. It's over eighty one years now and
- 24:37Speaker 4: in this Friday would have been Franks one hundred and
- 24:39Speaker 4: tenth birthday, and we always celebrate his birthday at a
- 24:42Speaker 4: restaurant with a beautiful muncheon. From twelfth to three, it's
- 24:47Speaker 4: going to be halted by Adriana Trigiani. She's very same
- 24:50Speaker 4: as author. She's written i think twenty seven books. Her
- 24:53Speaker 4: latest book was A View from Lake Cuomo, which we
- 24:57Speaker 4: actually had the book signing and our restaurant was a
- 25:00Speaker 4: sold out, so much sold out we added a second
- 25:02Speaker 4: event and so popular great stuff. We're gonna have some
- 25:06Speaker 4: video tributes also, you are not in person, but video tributes.
- 25:09Speaker 4: Who have Michael Billblay and Robert Dobby, Steve longme son
- 25:15Speaker 4: David beautiful because they love the play too, and Gene
- 25:18Speaker 4: Kelly's wife Patricia Kelly beautiful stuff. And the latest, the
- 25:23Speaker 4: real surprise guest we just added is Frank Sinatra's granddaughter, A. J.
- 25:27Speaker 4: Lambert is going to be there, and it's just so exciting.
- 25:31Speaker 4: She's such a such a sweet woman. That's Nancy's daughter,
- 25:34Speaker 4: and we're gonna be so happy. We've got Steve Maglio
- 25:37Speaker 4: who performs at the Carnegie Club, the Sinatra tributes all
- 25:41Speaker 4: the time.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's this. Friday is Sinatra's birthday, the twelfth,
- 25:46Speaker 2: so you.
- 25:46Speaker 4: Can Friday is the birthday.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Can people go to this Sinatra luncheon?
- 25:51Speaker 4: Yes, we have about five seats left. They can call
- 25:54Speaker 4: the restaurant two one two two four seven three four
- 25:57Speaker 4: nine one two one two two four seven three includes
- 26:01Speaker 4: all this great entertainment and of course Frank's favorite meal
- 26:05Speaker 4: as between know, some things we've talked about, and it's
- 26:08Speaker 4: gonna be a great time. We always we always love
- 26:11Speaker 4: remembering him. So many people.
- 26:13Speaker 2: How much is it to go to.
- 26:15Speaker 4: It's a one ninety five plus taxi tip.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Yes, well that includes music and the food and the whole.
- 26:24Speaker 4: Thing, music, everything, the whole nine yards and it's it
- 26:28Speaker 4: always sells out. This this year, we just had a
- 26:30Speaker 4: few few seats left. It's always so much fun and
- 26:34Speaker 4: everybody enjoys it. It's just a wonderful remembrance of such
- 26:38Speaker 4: a spectacular man. And I know how much you loved
- 26:41Speaker 4: him and how much you know about him. You're definitely
- 26:44Speaker 4: an encyclopedia when it comes to Frank Sinatra. But you
- 26:47Speaker 4: just take a look at the wall of all the
- 26:49Speaker 4: photos we have, and almost everyone could be traced back
- 26:52Speaker 4: to Frank Sinatra, like he brought in Jackie Gleeson, who
- 26:55Speaker 4: brought in the Rosemary Coon, who brought in George Corney,
- 26:57Speaker 4: you know, and and Jerry still always very close friends
- 27:00Speaker 4: with Nancy Sinatra, And of course they brought their son
- 27:03Speaker 4: Ben Stola. He wrote the poet Nancy and the Sinatra
- 27:06Speaker 4: wrote the forward to my first cookbook, and Ben Stilla
- 27:08Speaker 4: wrote the forward to my second cookbook. And we sell,
- 27:11Speaker 4: you know, during the holidays, we sell a lot of
- 27:14Speaker 4: that as a gift. If you don't know what to
- 27:15Speaker 4: get anyone, we have apasta sauces, Mariinada fadiaalo To made
- 27:20Speaker 4: a basil and vodka sauce. You can get the cookbooks,
- 27:23Speaker 4: and we have a little gift box at some pasta
- 27:25Speaker 4: and coffee. If you don't know what to get anyone,
- 27:27Speaker 4: you go to our website, which is patchis without the
- 27:30Speaker 4: apostrophe p A T S Y S dot com. And
- 27:34Speaker 4: like you said, it's the only location where it took
- 27:37Speaker 4: between Ans and Broadway by Connegie Hall.
- 27:39Speaker 2: And when you go to Patty's, do not rush right
- 27:43Speaker 2: into the restaurant. When you walk through the door, stop
- 27:46Speaker 2: and look at the pictures on the wall. These are
- 27:48Speaker 2: all the customers through the all famous famous faces. Look
- 27:51Speaker 2: at all the pictures and look carefully the end of
- 27:53Speaker 2: the bar. There's a beautiful statue of Frank Sinatra there,
- 27:57Speaker 2: so that.
- 27:58Speaker 4: One we got to it was commissioned by Tina Sinatra.
- 28:01Speaker 4: I think there's only a nine hundred limited edition. We
- 28:03Speaker 4: have that for many many years. And then on the
- 28:05Speaker 4: upstairs we have a smaller statue of Frank Dean and
- 28:09Speaker 4: Sammy the rat Pack. A great, great remembrance. Is great fun.
- 28:15Speaker 4: We're is so lucky because even like last week, my
- 28:19Speaker 4: wife is a big country music fan. And Kenny Chesney
- 28:22Speaker 4: came in and he said, the first time he came
- 28:25Speaker 4: here was, you know, like thirty years ago because he
- 28:27Speaker 4: heard it was Frank Sinatra's favorite place. So you can't
- 28:30Speaker 4: ask for a better pr guy than that.
- 28:31Speaker 2: All right, now, let me ask you an important question.
- 28:33Speaker 2: Let's Sinatra would always pick up the check. Let's there
- 28:35Speaker 2: was a whole bunch of people to check. Was one
- 28:37Speaker 2: thousand dollars? What would Sinatra tip on that?
- 28:42Speaker 4: Oh he was easily thirty thirty five percent without and
- 28:45Speaker 4: that's not including one hundreds he threw out everybody when
- 28:47Speaker 4: one hundred dollars was a lot of money. Yes, he was.
- 28:52Speaker 4: He was so generous. I mean, he just was in
- 28:54Speaker 4: every way, I mean with his philanthropy, with his help.
- 28:58Speaker 4: And the most important point, and I know you know
- 29:00Speaker 4: this mark was he wanted to be anonymous. He just
- 29:03Speaker 4: wanted to do it because he wanted to do it,
- 29:05Speaker 4: not to get his name in the paper. And that's
- 29:07Speaker 4: just such a wonderful quality. The man was so ahead
- 29:10Speaker 4: of his time, even with civil rights though, you and
- 29:12Speaker 4: I don't have to tell you all those stories.
- 29:13Speaker 2: Now when he was in the restaurant, he's big tipper,
- 29:16Speaker 2: ended out hundreds and that was like thousands back then. Also,
- 29:20Speaker 2: how many times would he pick up the check for
- 29:22Speaker 2: other tables?
- 29:24Speaker 4: Oh, so many times, There's so many times. The most
- 29:26Speaker 4: famous one I think I probably told you New York
- 29:28Speaker 4: Yankees were in they won the World Series. He they
- 29:30Speaker 4: introduced to each other and at the end of the night,
- 29:33Speaker 4: Sinatra left and Billy Martin was the manager back then.
- 29:36Speaker 4: He says, all right, now that Frank left, we can leave.
- 29:38Speaker 4: He says, give me the check. He says, too late.
- 29:39Speaker 4: Frank paid for.
- 29:40Speaker 2: You, for the whole team, the entire Yankees.
- 29:43Speaker 4: There was one time Mark, I don't know if I
- 29:46Speaker 4: told you this story. One time when he said to
- 29:47Speaker 4: my father, he says, me and Barbara and another couple
- 29:50Speaker 4: were coming in, it's okay for the other man to
- 29:53Speaker 4: pay the check. And Ty came to pay the check.
- 29:57Speaker 4: He gave him his gold American Express caught it, denied.
- 30:01Speaker 4: It wind up that that was the president of American
- 30:03Speaker 4: Express and his goal call is denied. He thought Sinatra
- 30:06Speaker 4: was playing a practical joke.
- 30:07Speaker 2: On him, and he was. I don't know how he
- 30:09Speaker 2: pulled that off, but that was Jim Robinson, right, the
- 30:11Speaker 2: chairman of America Express. Somehow Sinatra got his card to
- 30:14Speaker 2: be denied.
- 30:15Speaker 4: Yes, they were friends. They lived close together on pomp Springs.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Yeah, it was so.
- 30:20Speaker 4: I was the one time because he said I don't
- 30:22Speaker 4: want I don't want to owe anyone anything, you know,
- 30:24Speaker 4: because when he was down and out, nobody want to
- 30:27Speaker 4: talk to him. When he came back. He says, now
- 30:28Speaker 4: I don't want nothing from nobody, so God bless him.
- 30:31Speaker 2: Well, if you want to celebrate Sinatra, this Friday is
- 30:34Speaker 2: the birthday of Frank Sinatra. It's December twelfth, and they've
- 30:37Speaker 2: been doing this every year for a million years, the
- 30:39Speaker 2: Sinatra Birthday party. And it's at Patsy's. They'll be live music,
- 30:43Speaker 2: singing and some well known people there. And so what
- 30:47Speaker 2: now what do people do? If they want to come,
- 30:50Speaker 2: you make a reservation.
- 30:50Speaker 4: Please please give us a call at the restaurant. It's
- 30:53Speaker 4: two and two two four seven three four nine one

- 31:02Speaker 4: the website it's patsys dot com, p A T. S

- 31:15Speaker 4: too as well.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Make sure you follow Patsy's on Patsy's Italian Restaurant on Instagram.
- 31:20Speaker 2: Very good pictures, all sorts of stuff there. We only
- 31:22Speaker 2: got a few seconds left. Sinatra always brought a lot
- 31:25Speaker 2: of people to dinner. What's the biggest aunt rush you
- 31:27Speaker 2: ever came in with.
- 31:29Speaker 4: Oh he was there when he did for the seventy
- 31:33Speaker 4: fifth birthday of James Cagney. He took over the whole
- 31:36Speaker 4: upstairs and it was it was probably probably about eighty
- 31:39Speaker 4: or eighty five people came time to sing Happy Birthday
- 31:43Speaker 4: to James Cagney. Dean Martin was singing, Sammy Davis was
- 31:47Speaker 4: doing a soft shoe and Sinatra was just about to
- 31:50Speaker 4: join him to sing Happy Birthday to James Cagney. My
- 31:52Speaker 4: father said, wait, wait, Frank, you can't do this, and
- 31:55Speaker 4: Frank Sinatra got mad. What can I do? My father said,
- 31:58Speaker 4: I can't afford this kind of here.
- 32:02Speaker 2: But if you want to see and again when you
- 32:04Speaker 2: walk into Paties, don't rush in stops you come through
- 32:08Speaker 2: the door and look at the pictures on the wall.
- 32:09Speaker 2: They're amazing of all the celebrities that were there and
- 32:12Speaker 2: these call Patsies. Follow them on Instagram Patsy's Italian Restaurant

- 33:03Speaker 2: on W Well, Hey, the big news this morning, Bruce
- 33:09Speaker 2: Blakeman announced he's running. Now. At least Stephonic is great,
- 33:16Speaker 2: but I think Blakeman is better. Stephonica is great. She's
- 33:19Speaker 2: a great legislator, she's great fighting on those committees. But
- 33:22Speaker 2: Blakeman's a governor. That's basically what he does in NASA County,
- 33:26Speaker 2: the governor of the county, and he turns out to
- 33:28Speaker 2: be the number one best county executive in America. So
- 33:32Speaker 2: it's exactly what you want for a governor. So we'll
