Transcript
- 0:31What is going on everybody?
- 0:33It is lunchtime.
- 0:35Lunchtime with Clydesdale.
- 0:38Just got done with my morning at work.
- 0:40This will be my last day at
- 0:41work for almost a week as
- 0:45I'm hitting the road
- 0:46tomorrow for Montana.
- 0:48Good morning, good afternoon,
- 0:50wherever you're at, says Meredith.
- 0:53Good morning, Meredith.
- 0:55Jody, it is lunchtime.
- 0:57It sure is.
- 0:58So glad you both could be here today.
- 1:02And we'll see who else kind
- 1:03of rolls in here.
- 1:06Um, yeah, so I'm, I'm prepping for my, Oh,
- 1:10I gotta do my dart throw.
- 1:12Gotta do my dart throw.
- 1:13Here we go.
- 1:14I'm going to move the mic today.
- 1:20All right.
- 1:21I got closer.
- 1:22I'm in the inner circle,
- 1:23not quite to the bullseye
- 1:25about a third of the way down the nine.
- 1:28I'm still hitting that nine kind of wedge.
- 1:31Um,
- 1:31I've been out on the outer edge of the
- 1:33nine.
- 1:33Now I'm in the inner circle.
- 1:35wedge uh heading closer to
- 1:38the bullseye so we're
- 1:39making progress people
- 1:40we're making progress it's
- 1:42all about getting better
- 1:43every day there we go I
- 1:45think when I get back from
- 1:46montana I'm actually going
- 1:48to set up a quick camera uh
- 1:51to film the board as I
- 1:52throw so you guys can see
- 1:54where it lands I think that would be cool
- 1:58we'll do that just so you
- 1:59can kind of see that but um
- 2:02yeah so I'm prepping for my
- 2:03trip and I am not sponsored
- 2:06by anybody right now but I
- 2:07am hoping to be um anyway
- 2:09these high ground beef
- 2:10chips I started I tried
- 2:12those oh my goodness they
- 2:15are so good they remind me
- 2:18I grew up next to um a
- 2:20general store owned by this
- 2:21older lady who would make um
- 2:26And I grew up in the woods.
- 2:27So we lived in really rural
- 2:32Pennsylvania around a lot of oil fields.
- 2:36The Pennsylvania crude.
- 2:38So oil lease roads everywhere.
- 2:40Hunting and fishing was like
- 2:42the sport of choice.
- 2:44So this little general store next to me,
- 2:47right next to me,
- 2:49would make homemade beef jerky.
- 2:51And...
- 2:54And that's what that reminds me of.
- 2:56Like really thin cut beef, dried out.
- 3:01It's like perfect.
- 3:02Super thin, super easy to chew.
- 3:05Like I've gone to like
- 3:08butcher shops and gotten
- 3:09like really good beef jerky
- 3:11at a high quality that was thick.
- 3:13And by the time you finish like two pieces,
- 3:15your jaw is like on fire.
- 3:19So yeah,
- 3:20highly recommend those beef chips.
- 3:22They are so good, so tasty.
- 3:25Just enough cayenne to kind
- 3:26of give you a little sense of spice,
- 3:29but not like spicy or hot
- 3:32in any kind of way.
- 3:33Just really, really good.
- 3:35And there's only like three ingredients,
- 3:36beef, salt, and cayenne pepper,
- 3:40I think is it.
- 3:43Elise is having eggs and burger for lunch.
- 3:45How about y'all?
- 3:47So my question to you,
- 3:47Elise is I'm so picky about this.
- 3:52I love an egg on my burger.
- 3:55if I'm having a burger I
- 3:57like to have an egg on it
- 3:59but I am so picky about it
- 4:01like if the yolk doesn't
- 4:03run I get pissed and so
- 4:07I'll be at a restaurant and
- 4:08if the egg is an option for
- 4:09my burger I I will ask the
- 4:12waitress like can you
- 4:13guarantee me that this yolk
- 4:15will run because if it
- 4:16doesn't run like it's just
- 4:17a waste of my money
- 4:18Like I want that yolk to
- 4:19kind of like pour out over
- 4:22the whole thing and almost
- 4:24become the condiment of the burger.
- 4:28But it sounds to me the way you wrote that,
- 4:31that it's more like
- 4:31scrambled eggs and maybe
- 4:33like ground beef ground up
- 4:35kind of inside the burger.
- 4:38So just curious, but I love, I love that.
- 4:42fried egg on my burger just
- 4:45crack that yolk let it ooze
- 4:47out and I'll even knife and
- 4:49fork it if I have to to get
- 4:50through it but man that is
- 4:54the best but these high
- 4:57ground beef beef chips
- 5:00they're really good the
- 5:01problem is if I open a bag
- 5:02like the bag is done
- 5:06The bag is completely done.
- 5:09ACR says, I like runny yolk,
- 5:11but today is egg bites and
- 5:12plain burger patties.
- 5:17Yeah, okay.
- 5:17Yeah,
- 5:18I've even done just the egg on a burger,
- 5:20no bun, nothing,
- 5:21just and cut it up with a
- 5:24knife and a fork and just
- 5:26love that runny yolk through the burger.
- 5:29But yeah, I feel you.
- 5:32I feel you, ACR.
- 5:34That's good.
- 5:37um so yeah so I'm planning
- 5:40for this trip and I I went
- 5:43to the store last night got
- 5:44a bunch of vegetables I and
- 5:46and I'm gonna chop those up
- 5:47this afternoon uh to have
- 5:49in the car because I I'm a
- 5:51snacker when I'm in the car
- 5:52and I need to have good
- 5:53options when I do that so I
- 5:56bought some celery some
- 5:57green peppers uh some
- 5:58carrots some cucumbers um
- 6:03bought some grapes uh just
- 6:05to kind of have there um at
- 6:09our side while we're
- 6:10traveling a little bit of
- 6:12hummus but I don't even
- 6:13usually dip my my veggies
- 6:15anything but my daughter
- 6:17does so we're gonna have a
- 6:18little hummus and a lot of
- 6:19veggies and some fruit to
- 6:22kind of have on the road um
- 6:25yeah just to kind of make it more uh
- 6:31The big thing for me, I'm fifty five.
- 6:32Right.
- 6:33When I travel a lot and if I
- 6:35if I eat some salty food or
- 6:36drink salty drinks like my
- 6:38legs will swell a little
- 6:40bit and I don't want that to happen.
- 6:42So I keep the fiber intake
- 6:43up with the veggies and
- 6:47really eat kind of healthy on the way.
- 6:49But.
- 6:50So prepping all that this afternoon,
- 6:52packing up my last load of
- 6:53laundries in the dryer,
- 6:55getting ready for that.
- 6:56And then off to see some moose, some elk.
- 7:00But I was actually warned
- 7:01this morning by Lex that
- 7:03she used to take hikers up
- 7:07into the mountains.
- 7:09And moose are the most
- 7:11dangerous animal to come
- 7:12across in the wild.
- 7:14And I didn't know that.
- 7:17So I guess if I see a moose
- 7:18on the way to Montana,
- 7:20I'm hoping that I'm still
- 7:21in the truck when I see
- 7:22them so that I don't have
- 7:25to encounter the moose face to face.
- 7:29But yeah, I've never seen them.
- 7:30I've said it a couple of times now.
- 7:32I've never seen a bison or a
- 7:33moose or an elk in the wild.
- 7:35And I'm hoping that on my trip,
- 7:36I get to see all three.
- 7:40I like eggs anyway,
- 7:41from boiled to runny yolk
- 7:42and all the ways in between.
- 7:45Me too.
- 7:46But that is like, um,
- 7:49these days that's like
- 7:51fitty bucks to have a
- 7:53couple of hard boiled eggs, man.
- 7:55Um, I love hard boiled eggs.
- 7:58Um, I love deviled eggs.
- 8:01Yeah.
- 8:01I love eggs.
- 8:02Period.
- 8:04Uh, Andrew says moose are gigantic.
- 8:07Yeah.
- 8:07I'm hoping I get to see one.
- 8:09It'd be really cool.
- 8:14I was thinking of,
- 8:18I was thinking of like top five Tuesday,
- 8:24like all the cool places of
- 8:26all the places I've been in the world.
- 8:28Where are the top five places I've been?
- 8:30And what's crazy for me is, um,
- 8:35All of them have like this
- 8:36association with food.
- 8:38So I didn't formally put together a list,
- 8:39but like my top five places
- 8:41I've ever been in the world
- 8:42is like number one is New
- 8:44Orleans for sure.
- 8:45And it's really because of
- 8:46the food I love and the
- 8:47atmosphere just kind of
- 8:49going down Bourbon Street.
- 8:52And the food is so unique
- 8:53and the people there just are so into it.
- 8:58It's so cool.
- 9:00That's awesome.
- 9:01And when I was in Spokane, Washington,
- 9:05that was awesome because
- 9:06the salmon is so fresh.
- 9:08I ate salmon like breakfast, lunch,
- 9:10and dinner.
- 9:12It tastes way different than
- 9:14what we get here on the
- 9:16East Coast or the Midwest
- 9:18compared to that.
- 9:21And Philadelphia is one
- 9:23place I love to go.
- 9:25I just love the soft pretzels there.
- 9:28And I had one of the best
- 9:30meals I've ever had at the
- 9:32restaurant that held where
- 9:34the men would go after the
- 9:36first Continental Congress to eat.
- 9:38And they still had food on
- 9:39the menu from when they went.
- 9:42So they had like rabbit stew
- 9:44and stuff like that.
- 9:45I had an awesome dinner there.
- 9:47But that's what was going through my head.
- 9:48Like,
- 9:48why is it that my favorite places to
- 9:51visit have a big connection with food?
- 9:57Maybe that's been my problem
- 9:58my whole life is that
- 10:00that's where I prioritize things.
- 10:05Uh, cat for lunch is having, uh,
- 10:07rice crackers, Colby,
- 10:09Jack cheese and Ben and Jerry's.
- 10:11That is quite the mix, quite the mix.
- 10:19Um,
- 10:23so yeah so that's what I was
- 10:24thinking about today um the
- 10:26other thing I wanted to
- 10:28talk about briefly today is
- 10:30last night show was awesome
- 10:32um we talked a little bit
- 10:35about the team workouts
- 10:37being released I'd say a
- 10:38little bit we actually
- 10:38talked a lot and if you
- 10:40didn't see last night's show um
- 10:44it cracked me up at the
- 10:45beginning uh because
- 10:47carolyn just dove right
- 10:49into this thing so I'm
- 10:50going to play this for you
- 10:51if you haven't seen last
- 10:52night's show what a trip um
- 10:55we talked about the team
- 10:56workout and them adding
- 10:58running uh to the mix and
- 11:00here's what carolyn had to
- 11:01say is everybody in an
- 11:02uproar rightly so yes and
- 11:09that is workout four
- 11:11This is an online semifinal
- 11:13event for the teams.
- 11:17And in this,
- 11:17it starts with an eight hundred meter run,
- 11:20one hundred pull ups,
- 11:22eight hundred meter run,
- 11:23one hundred chest of our pull ups,
- 11:26eight hundred meter run,
- 11:27one hundred muscle ups.
- 11:29We have twenty five minutes.
- 11:32Ring muscle up for that one.
- 11:33Yeah.
- 11:34Yeah.
- 11:34Ring muscle ups.
- 11:38So, Carolyn.
- 11:41this is the stupidest thing
- 11:42I've ever seen in my life
- 11:43for a crossfit program
- 11:45workout to go to a world
- 11:47championship like the
- 11:47crossfit games it is so
- 11:50stupid to pro like running for distance
- 11:54In an online format,
- 11:55like there's no way that
- 11:57anything is standardized.
- 11:58You just took away the whole
- 11:59standardization of an online competition.
- 12:01The distances aren't going to be the same.
- 12:03It called eight hundreds are
- 12:05not going to be the same.
- 12:06Even watch to watch is not the same.
- 12:10The climate's different.
- 12:11Like we're just able to run outdoors now,
- 12:14like in certain climates.
- 12:16Um,
- 12:16some gyms have are in basements where
- 12:19they have to go out of
- 12:20their gym through hallways,
- 12:21maybe upstairs,
- 12:22down the stairs to get out.
- 12:25Uh,
- 12:25you have gyms in affiliates that are in
- 12:27cities that have traffic
- 12:28lights around them,
- 12:29people walking busy streets.
- 12:33You get the idea.
- 12:35Um, she was not happy about,
- 12:37I know there's been
- 12:37internet uproar about this for the last
- 12:41But she let her feelings be
- 12:42known about that.
- 12:44And if you want to see the
- 12:45full take on that,
- 12:47that was last night's show,
- 12:49looking at the programming
- 12:51for the teams in an online event.
- 12:54We went on to talk about how
- 12:57easy it would be to cheat.
- 12:59We've already had people
- 13:00impersonating judges.
- 13:02We've already had missing videos.
- 13:05We've already had lack of accreditation.
- 13:09And with the teams,
- 13:10you have to have three judges now.
- 13:12You have to have two
- 13:14on-floor judges and one
- 13:16head judge for some of the events.
- 13:19It was so hard for some of
- 13:20the age group athletes to get two judges.
- 13:24Now they're asking them to
- 13:25get three for the team division.
- 13:28This is so crazy what
- 13:30they're doing by moving the
- 13:33teams out of the in-person events.
- 13:37And now they're doing their
- 13:38semifinals online,
- 13:41eight hundred meter runs.
- 13:43And if you look at the standards,
- 13:45there's no standard that
- 13:47they have to be videoed on
- 13:48the run at all.
- 13:50So they can go out the door,
- 13:51hide behind a tree,
- 13:53count off the time about three,
- 13:55three and a half minutes, roll back in.
- 13:58and nobody is the wiser.
- 14:00The standard is that you
- 14:01have to take a video of the, the, um,
- 14:05eight hundred when, and the course,
- 14:11and then one of the
- 14:12athletes needs to wear a
- 14:14wearable device that tracks it.
- 14:17So technically they're the
- 14:18only one that have to run the damn thing.
- 14:21Um,
- 14:23And there's nothing to say
- 14:24they have to do it at the
- 14:24exact same time as the workout.
- 14:27Just have them do an eight
- 14:28hundred meter sprint and call it a day.
- 14:32It's such a fiasco.
- 14:34And I know that like and we
- 14:35talked about this last
- 14:36night is it's like CrossFit
- 14:39is take making the
- 14:40assumption that because you
- 14:41have L ones and certified
- 14:44judges that people are
- 14:45going to be on the up and
- 14:47up and not try to cheat.
- 14:49that it will be prevented by
- 14:51these people possessing the
- 14:52credentials um that they do
- 14:55and we found that people
- 14:56are impersonating judges
- 14:57and don't even have the
- 14:58credentials um so that
- 15:01isn't necessarily true um
- 15:05and there are going to be
- 15:06some teams that when given
- 15:07the opportunity to cheat
- 15:09will cheat um so it's going
- 15:12to be interesting to see
- 15:13how this goes this weekend and
- 15:17If Hiller's going to be busy, busy, busy,
- 15:20and I know he had a video
- 15:21about this yesterday as well,
- 15:25he said that he can just
- 15:26picture someone knowing
- 15:28that a team's going to
- 15:29cheat and in the parking
- 15:30lot with their camera up
- 15:32over the steering wheel
- 15:36getting ready to send a video to Hiller.
- 15:41So...
- 15:45Andrew Sten says,
- 15:45I think this is more
- 15:46evidence CrossFit doesn't
- 15:47care about the team competition anymore.
- 15:49I wonder if it'll go away completely soon.
- 15:56I don't know my complete thoughts on that.
- 15:58I see exactly where you're coming from.
- 16:04I think they want to change the teams.
- 16:08I think they want to make it
- 16:10like a pairs competition.
- 16:14I don't know.
- 16:17I don't know.
- 16:19I think the way the teams is
- 16:20set up is not entertaining.
- 16:24I think the way teams would
- 16:25be more entertaining is if
- 16:28it was run more like Waterpalooza SoCal,
- 16:32where you have one person
- 16:35take the floor for this event,
- 16:36maybe two people on this event,
- 16:39maybe four people on this event,
- 16:41and it changes up throughout the weekend.
- 16:45And it's part strategy, part fitness.
- 16:49Like,
- 16:49do I start this person against this
- 16:51person or do I start that
- 16:53person against that person or whatever?
- 16:56And I think that's the way
- 16:57it needs to change.
- 17:02So, yeah.
- 17:05But that's a topic for another day.
- 17:10I think that changing the
- 17:11team competition is
- 17:12inevitable to make it more
- 17:14entertaining because I'm
- 17:16not sure in its current
- 17:17format it can stand on its own.
- 17:19And it really does appear
- 17:21that CrossFit is pushing it
- 17:22out there and forcing it to
- 17:25stand on its own instead of
- 17:28being a part of something.
- 17:30So, yeah.
- 17:36Yeah.
- 17:39Um, I guess like, I, I, I just,
- 17:50it baffles me that people
- 17:52that have been around the sport this long,
- 17:54if putting out or putting
- 17:55out workouts like this and
- 17:56not thinking that it's
- 17:57going to be a complete cluster.
- 18:01I think that's what's
- 18:02baffling me more than
- 18:05anything in this whole
- 18:07endeavor is that these
- 18:09people that have been around,
- 18:11like Dave's been around
- 18:12since the beginning.
- 18:13Boz has been around since
- 18:15almost the beginning.
- 18:17How can you not look at this
- 18:18workout and think, man,
- 18:21we're going to have some problems?
- 18:26I think that's what concerns me the most.
- 18:30I like the idea that you're
- 18:32forcing teams to run.
- 18:33I think that that is a
- 18:35crucial component of fitness,
- 18:37but there's no way to judge
- 18:39it and make it a fair competition, um,
- 18:43in order to do it.
- 18:44So, um, so yeah.
- 18:54Um, so anyway,
- 18:59Corey and ACR are having
- 19:00quite the conversation.
- 19:03Dang.
- 19:06So, yeah.
- 19:07So that's been going on this week.
- 19:12I did watch the Brian Friend
- 19:14Rich Froning podcast this morning.
- 19:18My thoughts on that were
- 19:22that I was ready to pop some popcorn.
- 19:23I was ready to kind of see
- 19:24what was going on.
- 19:27And it kind of left me flat.
- 19:30Um, I don't think,
- 19:33I think the line of rich
- 19:35saying that Brian was
- 19:38contributing to the
- 19:39divisiveness in the sport
- 19:41never got addressed.
- 19:46I think they spoke about what was,
- 19:48what they felt was wrong with CrossFit.
- 19:50I felt that they talked
- 19:52about maybe some solutions
- 19:54to what might be wrong with CrossFit,
- 19:56but they never addressed.
- 20:00They addressed the squat back and forth,
- 20:03but never discussed the
- 20:07divisive comment or that
- 20:09Brian wanted to be paid to
- 20:12be on the froning podcast.
- 20:16That was just kind of left
- 20:18out there with no answer.
- 20:23So
- 20:26I think Kenneth nails it.
- 20:28It was overhyped.
- 20:30They really did clickbait
- 20:31the cut up of the interview
- 20:35on Instagram where none of
- 20:39those phrases were actually
- 20:40together in the podcast,
- 20:43but they put them together
- 20:44to make it appear like it
- 20:45was going to be juicy with a lot of tea.
- 20:50And it turned out that it
- 20:51wasn't that really at all.
- 20:55So, um, so yeah,
- 21:01my thoughts on the whole
- 21:02thing are that we are,
- 21:07we are a divided community at this point.
- 21:10There, there is,
- 21:12there is one group on one
- 21:14side and one group on the other.
- 21:17And I don't know what it's
- 21:19going to take to bring
- 21:21those two sides together again.
- 21:25And I know I keep comparing
- 21:27this to full swing,
- 21:29but I am in season two of full swing.
- 21:31And this happened in golf
- 21:34with the Live Tour and the PGA.
- 21:37And then they eventually
- 21:39decided that the best thing
- 21:40for the sport was to merge.
- 21:42And when they did the merge, there were...
- 21:45They worked so hard before
- 21:47the merge to galvanize
- 21:49their sides against the
- 21:51other and then decided to merge.
- 21:54And now you've created this
- 21:56animosity against each side.
- 22:01And now it's how are you
- 22:03going to mend the fences?
- 22:05I don't know.
- 22:07I don't know what it will
- 22:09take to do that in the CrossFit world.
- 22:13I think the sale could be an
- 22:16antagonist to that.
- 22:20Depending on who buys
- 22:21CrossFit could be the start
- 22:24of mending those fences.
- 22:29But I don't know.
- 22:30I really don't know what's going on.
- 22:34I did like the fact in the
- 22:36Froning podcast that Rich
- 22:37talked about the WFP not
- 22:40really letting people know
- 22:42what they were doing.
- 22:44And it was hard to get
- 22:45behind them when they
- 22:47weren't telling you what
- 22:48their intentions were.
- 22:51And it actually turned Rich
- 22:54from trying to find out
- 22:56what was going on to being
- 22:58pissed at them for not telling him.
- 23:01And he said,
- 23:02not like I need somebody to
- 23:04come kiss the ring,
- 23:05but we just wanted to know
- 23:07what the deal was.
- 23:09Um,
- 23:10and he did get some answers from Brian
- 23:11during the podcast.
- 23:13Um, and I,
- 23:17and I thought that was a little
- 23:18bit interesting and it did kind of show,
- 23:23um,
- 23:24some of the weaknesses in the current
- 23:27CrossFit game season.
- 23:29Um,
- 23:32And so CrossFit has kind of
- 23:33let themselves open to a
- 23:36competitor of some sort.
- 23:38Now we don't know what's
- 23:39going to happen with this.
- 23:41Their first event is still
- 23:43two and a half weeks away.
- 23:44So we don't even know how
- 23:45many people are going to
- 23:46show up or if they're going
- 23:47to do anything or if
- 23:49anybody's going to watch.
- 23:54My guess is the first tour
- 23:56event will be watched a lot
- 23:58because people have
- 24:00curiosity and they're going
- 24:01to want to know what it looks like,
- 24:03what it sounds like,
- 24:05the production value behind it,
- 24:07and is it going to be worth anything.
- 24:10and then you'll get all of
- 24:11the criticism um or praise
- 24:14the following week and when
- 24:16they go to tour stop two um
- 24:18my guess is those numbers
- 24:20will drop some because the
- 24:21curiosity will be gone um
- 24:24and people that actually
- 24:25like it will stay and
- 24:27people that are critical of
- 24:28it will go and then we'll see kind of uh
- 24:34where they are at that point
- 24:36and whether it's going to
- 24:37be a viable option or not.
- 24:39I don't think tour event one
- 24:40tells us anything because I
- 24:42think the curiosity will
- 24:43increase the numbers and
- 24:44the attendance in that first stop.
- 24:50And then it's going to be
- 24:51the second stop where we're
- 24:52going to determine what the
- 24:54real response to coming to
- 24:56watch them or watching on
- 24:58the stream is going to be like.
- 25:09Buster Cherry says they have
- 25:12an affiliate program that isn't created,
- 25:13but are trying to get fifty
- 25:14gyms to join to build it.
- 25:16Not a very sound business plan.
- 25:18So Brian Friend actually
- 25:20responds to this in the
- 25:21Froning podcast where the
- 25:26premise behind this is to build
- 25:29Build the affiliate program
- 25:31using fifty strong
- 25:33affiliates from different
- 25:35places in the world,
- 25:36from different points of view,
- 25:38some CrossFit affiliates,
- 25:39some high rocks affiliates
- 25:41and kind of get them
- 25:42together to build the business plan.
- 25:46And that's why they're
- 25:47called the founding fifty affiliates.
- 25:49Because the idea isn't to go
- 25:53from zero to a hundred with
- 25:55the affiliate program,
- 25:56but to grab the initial
- 25:59group of members to have
- 26:03them help them build it.
- 26:07Which I don't hate that plan,
- 26:09but to do it without that
- 26:12explanation out front,
- 26:14I think was a huge mistake.
- 26:22So, and I think with that,
- 26:26if they're going to slow
- 26:27roll that into this first
- 26:29fifty to come up with a business plan,
- 26:31and depending on who buys
- 26:33CrossFit in the next six months or so,
- 26:37I think that either that
- 26:39door is going to open or
- 26:40that door is going to shut
- 26:41depending on the sale of CrossFit.
- 26:44So I think we're in a very
- 26:46critical time in the next
- 26:48six months to see where
- 26:52opportunity may exist or
- 26:54where CrossFit may solidify themselves.
- 26:58But this sale is big because
- 27:01there are people trying to
- 27:04break down the door.
- 27:06And can CrossFit solidify
- 27:09that with good ownership
- 27:11and a sound business plan?
- 27:13Or are these other
- 27:15opportunities going to open
- 27:16up for the world fitness
- 27:18projects of the world?
- 27:24Just my opinion.
- 27:28So, um,
- 27:33So yeah,
- 27:34I think that is the most that I
- 27:35got out of the Froning
- 27:36podcast was a little bit
- 27:38better understanding of
- 27:39what the World Fitness
- 27:40Project is trying to achieve.
- 27:43And I do believe they've
- 27:44made several mistakes along the way.
- 27:46So I don't think that it's
- 27:50clear cut that they're the
- 27:51better option or anything like that.
- 27:54I just think that CrossFit
- 27:56needs to tighten up the
- 27:58ship and not let the
- 27:59opportunities of it...
- 28:02not make the opportunities
- 28:03available for others to tear them down.
- 28:06And CrossFit keeps tripping
- 28:09over their own feet this
- 28:10year with the structure of
- 28:13the sports season, with the, I mean,
- 28:18Froning said a lot in his
- 28:19podcast that he pays at
- 28:20forty five hundred dollars
- 28:21a year and he doesn't know
- 28:23what he gets for that forty
- 28:24five hundred dollars.
- 28:27other than the name CrossFit,
- 28:29and that he has seriously
- 28:30contemplated what that actually means.
- 28:34And he said he reiterated,
- 28:36which he has said in the past,
- 28:38depending on who buys this,
- 28:40is whether Mayhem is a
- 28:42CrossFit affiliate in the future or not.
- 28:46So...
- 28:49I think from all those perspectives,
- 28:51it was a good podcast.
- 28:53But if you were looking for
- 28:54the drama and the tea from
- 28:57the Brian Friend, Savon, Hiller thing,
- 29:02it was, as Tommy Marquez would put it,
- 29:04a big old nothing burger.
- 29:07They didn't really even
- 29:08address any of that.
- 29:10So...
- 29:19and I was really looking forward to it.
- 29:22You know,
- 29:22I being part of the media and I
- 29:24know I'm just a little tiny part,
- 29:26but by having media access,
- 29:28there's so much that goes
- 29:30on behind the scenes that
- 29:31nobody knows about.
- 29:33And I just keep my mouth
- 29:34shut cause I'm just a
- 29:35little fish in the big pond
- 29:37and I just go about my
- 29:39business to the best of my ability.
- 29:41Um,
- 29:43but so much stuff goes on behind the
- 29:45scenes that nobody even knows about.
- 29:48And, um,
- 29:52I thought I was,
- 29:54I was wondering if some of
- 29:55it was going to get exposed
- 29:56in this podcast, um,
- 29:59which none of it did.
- 30:00So yeah.
- 30:05I think there is division at
- 30:06every level in the CrossFit
- 30:08space right now.
- 30:09And that is not good for the methodology.
- 30:13It's not good for the sport.
- 30:15But there's divisiveness in
- 30:17the affiliates.
- 30:17There's divisiveness in the media.
- 30:19There's divisiveness in the athletes.
- 30:23And I don't mean divide.
- 30:25I mean division.
- 30:26That's better.
- 30:27There's division in all of those entities.
- 30:32and I hope that there's
- 30:33something that happens to
- 30:35pull everybody back
- 30:36together again so well
- 30:43we're only we're about
- 30:45tomorrow's show um my
- 30:49daughter and I talked this
- 30:50morning I don't know when
- 30:51we're leaving tomorrow um
- 30:54we're trying to avoid
- 30:55chicago rush hour so we're
- 30:57either leaving early in the
- 30:58morning or we're leaving after lunch um
- 31:02If we leave after lunch,
- 31:03I'll be doing the show
- 31:04right here from the basement.
- 31:06If we're leaving early in the morning,
- 31:07I'm going to try to do the
- 31:08show from the truck in my iPad.
- 31:14Or maybe we'll stop somewhere and do it.
- 31:17But I'm going to try to do a show tomorrow,
- 31:19either on the road or in
- 31:22the basement tomorrow.
- 31:22So tomorrow you'll be surprised.
- 31:26But we'll be back again tomorrow.
- 31:27And we're going to do shows
- 31:29on Thursday and Friday from
- 31:30the road on the way to Montana.
- 31:32Maybe we'll be lucky and
- 31:33I'll get a moose in the
- 31:34background to be in my
- 31:36co-star for one of these things.
- 31:39Who knows?
- 31:40But we're headed out tomorrow.
- 31:42Can't wait for that.
- 31:44Going to go chop up some
- 31:45vegetables for the trip,
- 31:46make a few sandwiches to
- 31:48have in the cooler.
- 31:50And with that, guys,
- 31:53Lunchtime's over.
- 31:54Time for you knuckleheads to
- 31:55get back to work.
- 31:56And we'll see you tomorrow
- 31:57on Lunch with the Clydesdale.
- 32:00Thank you so much, guys.
- 32:02See you then.
- 32:03Bye.
