- 0:20Speaker 1: Hey, everyone, welcome to Blessed this mess in the True
- 0:22Speaker 1: Grum podcast. I don't care who was do sa Hayestu.
- 0:24Speaker 1: All right, we are back this week and we are
- 0:26Speaker 1: going to South Carolina?
- 0:29Speaker 2: Are we now?
- 0:30Speaker 1: Yes, we apologize. We know we're always apologizing. What happened
- 0:35Speaker 1: was last week. We so update for for the whole
- 0:40Speaker 1: base Camp Tlingua thing.
- 0:42Speaker 2: We are not murdered.
- 0:43Speaker 1: We are not murdered. We did go there last week,
- 0:45Speaker 1: so that's why we did. We we're gonna We were
- 0:48Speaker 1: trying to get an episode out before we left, but
- 0:50Speaker 1: it just didn't happen. We had the winter storm here.
- 0:54Speaker 1: It was like the kids were all sick. I was sick. Anyways,
- 0:59Speaker 1: it just didn't happen. And then when we got home
- 1:02Speaker 1: we were going to try to record Saturday Sunday sometime.
- 1:06Speaker 1: But Saturday and we got home like I was like done,
- 1:09Speaker 1: I couldn't function anymore. And then Sunday we children did
- 1:14Speaker 1: not want to cooperate. Last night, well Sunday we were
- 1:17Speaker 1: supposed to record in the afternoon. However, right before we
- 1:20Speaker 1: left we had the leaking garbage disposals. We couldn't use
- 1:23Speaker 1: our kitchen sink until stew changed out the garbage disposal.
- 1:27Speaker 1: So he did that when the time we were supposed
- 1:29Speaker 1: to record, because that was like we had to get
- 1:32Speaker 1: that done because the dishes were piling up.
- 1:34Speaker 2: I mean we probably put a bucket down there and
- 1:39Speaker 2: all kinds of other stuff, but that would.
- 1:41Speaker 1: Have set me off into another dimension stew I couldn't
- 1:45Speaker 1: handle that kind of chaaloe.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Yeah, because I can't change the disposal during a wake
- 1:48Speaker 2: while you're not here.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Yeah, because it was like several took him forever anyways,
- 1:53Speaker 1: and so they were like, okay, well we'll record when
- 1:55Speaker 1: the kids go to sleep, because they got to be
- 1:56Speaker 1: tired because we've been we were at this Turlingua thing,
- 2:00Speaker 1: big band, all this stuff. Anyways, Well, they would not
- 2:04Speaker 1: go to sleep, so the baby had to come in
- 2:07Speaker 1: there with us, and then she had to be rocked
- 2:08Speaker 1: to sleep, and then she still going on. She was
- 2:11Speaker 1: having but she also has she just gave up her
- 2:13Speaker 1: pacifiers because she's been she was chewing holes in them.
- 2:17Speaker 1: So while we were gone on our camping glamping thing Interlingua,
- 2:21Speaker 1: she chewed up her passy the last one and so
- 2:23Speaker 1: it's just not safe for her to have them, so
- 2:25Speaker 1: we had to throw it out so she's she's having
- 2:27Speaker 1: a hard time I think getting herself to sleep or
- 2:31Speaker 1: comforting herself as she goes back to sleep because she's
- 2:34Speaker 1: not allowed. She's we're done with the passes.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Yes her life at eleven o'clock last night and continued
- 2:40Speaker 2: on until about twelve twelve thirty this morning.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Yeah, so I go to I was unaware of this
- 2:44Speaker 1: cose I went to bed anyways. So yeah, so we apologize.
- 2:51Speaker 1: You know what, guys, you know one time we took
- 2:53Speaker 1: off for two years, so if we miss them here
- 2:56Speaker 1: and there, just be thankful. It's not for longer. Let's
- 3:00Speaker 1: just say it.
- 3:00Speaker 2: And we did say we'll see you next time. Yep,
- 3:04Speaker 2: and a half years later we did.
- 3:05Speaker 1: We did. We didn't just completely disappear anyway. So we
- 3:09Speaker 1: will have a shoot the poo this Friday. We're going
- 3:11Speaker 1: to recap our whole trip, but just to update because
- 3:13Speaker 1: I know there were some questions about the base camp
- 3:16Speaker 1: Turling because I did my whole rant and then I
- 3:18Speaker 1: kind of let you guys hanging. They went back sketchy
- 3:22Speaker 1: a couple more times, and then finally they they never can't.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I think we had mentioned it that we were concerned
- 3:27Speaker 1: because they never I never got a cancelation for that
- 3:30Speaker 1: thing because I thought they we thought maybe they would
- 3:32Speaker 1: just try to say we were no shows. I don't
- 3:34Speaker 1: think they were expecting their automated system to send me
- 3:38Speaker 1: an email with instructions and stuff on how to get there,
- 3:40Speaker 1: because it's like all self checking. And so I had
- 3:43Speaker 1: emailed them. I said, are you kidding me right now?
- 3:45Speaker 1: I said, you canceled this on me? And they're like,
- 3:48Speaker 1: you never responded to that confirmation and to cancel, So, yes,
- 3:51Speaker 1: your reservation is still going. I said, I have several
- 3:54Speaker 1: emails of you saying you canceled on me. I actually
- 3:59Speaker 1: never canceled this second time that they rebooked us in
- 4:01Speaker 1: that cheaper pod or whatever dome, And so they canceled
- 4:06Speaker 1: on me because I asked about the extra six hundred dollars.
- 4:09Speaker 1: I'm like, where's the six hundred dollars? So she I
- 4:11Speaker 1: sent her screenshots of the them saying that they were
- 4:15Speaker 1: going to cancel my reservation multiple times, and I said,
- 4:18Speaker 1: I'm done with this. I said, I'm going to contact
- 4:20Speaker 1: the state because that's all I could do at this point,
- 4:22Speaker 1: was like to file a complaint.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Yeah, file a complain with Secretary State.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Well, I didn't hear from them for about an hour
- 4:27Speaker 1: because she was rapidly emailing back initially when she thought
- 4:31Speaker 1: she was gonna get me a and so she emails
- 4:33Speaker 1: me back an hour later with a bunch of dates
- 4:34Speaker 1: I could pick. Well, the only ones we could do
- 4:37Speaker 1: was the one coming up here at the end of January,
- 4:41Speaker 1: and so we went for We had to delay going
- 4:43Speaker 1: there one day, but we did go. Nobody tried to
- 4:45Speaker 1: murder us, nobody tried to bother us, so we made up.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I do not recommend booking through them, though, because this
- 4:53Speaker 1: process was sketchy. The dome there, you'll see on reviews
- 4:58Speaker 1: it is true, like the dome was scratched, so it's
- 5:02Speaker 1: not as clear as like the pictures and stuff. I mean,
- 5:04Speaker 1: it was a cool experience and everything like that, but
- 5:06Speaker 1: if we were to go back, I would book a
- 5:08Speaker 1: like a one of those casitos or something like that,
- 5:11Speaker 1: and I would book through a different one. Because apparently
- 5:13Speaker 1: the owner of this base camp tre Lingua has some
- 5:17Speaker 1: legal issues involving stuff stuff. I'm not gonna say it,
- 5:21Speaker 1: because he's like sue Happy. He like sued the girl,
- 5:25Speaker 1: one of the girls that made a claim against him
- 5:27Speaker 1: and he lost though, but you can look it up.
- 5:31Speaker 1: So I think their bookings have gone down in like
- 5:33Speaker 1: the prices, because I think that when we were there,
- 5:36Speaker 1: we didn't really see anybody.
- 5:37Speaker 2: There was one couple that was another bubble down the road, yeah,
- 5:42Speaker 2: but I didn't see any of the tenths being news no.
- 5:44Speaker 1: So, and this is a popular time of the year
- 5:46Speaker 1: because you have to go when it's cold because you
- 5:49Speaker 1: can't go in the heat, like the bubbles heat up
- 5:52Speaker 1: like the air conditioners even to even while we went
- 5:55Speaker 1: like during the day, like you had to be out
- 5:57Speaker 1: of there about like nine am when the sun started
- 5:59Speaker 1: coming in because the bubble just start getting hot and
- 6:01Speaker 1: you're like, we gotta get out here. So anyways, but
- 6:03Speaker 1: we'll do a we'll do a full recap on the
- 6:06Speaker 1: Shoot the Poop, but we wanted to update everybody because
- 6:08Speaker 1: some people have complained that we don't that they do
- 6:10Speaker 1: miss our chit chat and updates, so I know, so
- 6:16Speaker 1: we might start doing just a little bit on this
- 6:19Speaker 1: one and then more of the of the in depth
- 6:21Speaker 1: stuff on Shoot the Pooh so with Karen stu So,
- 6:27Speaker 1: because on those we do ram I mean we ramble
- 6:30Speaker 1: like guys, like I'm talking like it's like a forty
- 6:32Speaker 1: five minute episode of US, just a stream of consciousness
- 6:35Speaker 1: coming out, and we can't do that on this podcast. Nobody.
- 6:38Speaker 1: People are gonna get upset.
- 6:39Speaker 2: They're here to hear like we've seen it in the reviews.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Yes, like people up you know they talk so anyway,
- 6:47Speaker 1: So that's the update. We used our credit. We will
- 6:51Speaker 1: never use them again. There's other if you want to
- 6:54Speaker 1: go stay out there, there's other options. I would go
- 6:57Speaker 1: and choose a different company. And that's all I'm going
- 7:00Speaker 1: to say. So the guy doesn't like I think he
- 7:04Speaker 1: was already in enough trouble. So when I started emailing
- 7:06Speaker 1: about the state, I feel like they were like, oh
- 7:08Speaker 1: my god, we can't have another debacle.
- 7:09Speaker 2: You can't have another agency.
- 7:13Speaker 1: It was sketchy what they were doing though, Like that
- 7:15Speaker 1: was totally sketchy. I never saw. I didn't see any
- 7:18Speaker 1: real damage with the bubble, and they said they couldn't
- 7:20Speaker 1: get it fixed for weeks and then all of a sudden,
- 7:22Speaker 1: here the bubble we were supposed to be in.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Is it was raculous?
- 7:25Speaker 1: Yes, it was fair.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Yeah, if you would have got a part for it,
- 7:27Speaker 2: maybe you could have got a clear top so we
- 7:29Speaker 2: could have seen the stars.
- 7:31Speaker 1: But if you read some of the recent reviews from people,
- 7:33Speaker 1: it's all the things they say are accurate. But it
- 7:36Speaker 1: was nice. I mean, it was fun. The kids had
- 7:38Speaker 1: a good time.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Kids loved it. It was great. Private.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Oh, yes, it was private because there is a difference
- 7:45Speaker 1: between as you could see from the other bubbles that
- 7:47Speaker 1: were a little ways away from us, there's a difference
- 7:49Speaker 1: between the deluxe and the regular bubbles. There's a reason
- 7:52Speaker 1: you pay for deluxe, and I paid the extra money
- 7:54Speaker 1: because of the four walls and to keep the kids contained.
- 7:58Speaker 2: The other ones were private to because there ain't nobody
- 8:00Speaker 2: out there.
- 8:00Speaker 1: No, but they had an opening wall stew where they
- 8:03Speaker 1: can just run off the cliff. I know. But I
- 8:06Speaker 1: can't have you having sarcasm whenever I'm in this. I
- 8:08Speaker 1: was in this entire, this entire like arch Nemesis with this,
- 8:14Speaker 1: with this bubble TEARI lingua thing. So anyways, but so
- 8:18Speaker 1: if you're wondering what shoot the pooh is, that's what
- 8:21Speaker 1: we do. We try to do one every once a
- 8:23Speaker 1: week longer, yes, this, but longer. Anyways, we're a little
- 8:28Speaker 1: more more free talking on there about our personal stuff,
- 8:31Speaker 1: just because it's not you have to pay to listen
- 8:34Speaker 1: to it, and so we feel like there's some sort
- 8:36Speaker 1: of block in case one of our family.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Members now they know that they got to pay three dollars.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's not like when I say pay, I
- 8:45Speaker 1: mean it's it's three dollars a month. It's like it's
- 8:49Speaker 1: just basic support, just like.
- 8:52Speaker 2: And then cancel.
- 8:54Speaker 1: This is true.
- 8:54Speaker 2: You get the whole back catalog.
- 8:56Speaker 1: So but basically, if you join Patreon, you get to
- 8:59Speaker 1: shoot the poo. We try to do one once a week.
- 9:02Speaker 1: We also do and then a lot of times if
- 9:05Speaker 1: we haven't had a lot going on, I will recap
- 9:07Speaker 1: like a true crime documentary or something. During those shoot
- 9:11Speaker 1: the poos, you also get the episodes twenty four hours
- 9:15Speaker 1: early in ad free, so like this one you'll get
- 9:17Speaker 1: on they'll get on Wednesday, and then twenty four hours
- 9:20Speaker 1: later it goes everywhere else anyways, and then rate review,
- 9:23Speaker 1: subscribe five stars only, buy us a coffee. We really
- 9:29Speaker 1: appreciate those Instagram, Facebook TikTok. I do true crime documentary
- 9:36Speaker 1: recommendations almost daily. I took a I've been like here,
- 9:40Speaker 1: I've been having a rough time guys.
- 9:41Speaker 2: Okay, so yeaht like you're having physical issues of some sort.
- 9:48Speaker 1: I am so on the Patreon we already told everybody
- 9:50Speaker 1: months ago, but I'm about to have another baby. So
- 9:54Speaker 1: I am. I'm on the struggle bus right now. We're
- 9:57Speaker 1: having a baby in like a month. Well, I'm just
- 9:58Speaker 1: gonna tell them, because they're gonna we're going to have
- 10:00Speaker 1: to tell them why. We're probably not gonna have an episode,
- 10:03Speaker 1: you know, beginning in March. So I am currently pregnant
- 10:08Speaker 1: with our fourth and final child, and so I am
- 10:14Speaker 1: due next month in March, and I am in a
- 10:17Speaker 1: lot of I'm going to tell you I'm in a
- 10:18Speaker 1: lot of pain right now. I'm having really hard time,
- 10:20Speaker 1: like just my body's I guess, preparing for labor. And
- 10:25Speaker 1: it's just like it's just that last month. I'm just
- 10:27Speaker 1: on the struggle bus. So that's part of the reason
- 10:30Speaker 1: why we haven't. Like when I said I was done Saturday,
- 10:33Speaker 1: I was done Saturday. She was I went lately.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Left me with the kids, left the mess that she made.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Yes, I didn't care about anything in.
- 10:42Speaker 2: The yep, I had to continue to unpack.
- 10:45Speaker 1: So yeah, So anyways, but I'm here right now for
- 10:49Speaker 1: the moment, So let's get into it.
- 10:51Speaker 2: Let's do it.
- 10:53Speaker 1: This is our case out of South Carolina. Now, on
- 10:56Speaker 1: February twenty six, twenty fourteen, around two thirty in the
- 10:59Speaker 1: afternoon and Elgin, South Carolina, nine on one received a
- 11:02Speaker 1: call about some kids that found a body on a
- 11:04Speaker 1: deserted road.
- 11:06Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Some kids finely, like young kids like ten years old.
- 11:10Speaker 1: It was behind a subdivision, but it's like, you know,
- 11:12Speaker 1: like the undeveloped parts. So they were probably in the
- 11:15Speaker 1: subdivision and then go back and see the the unfinished
- 11:19Speaker 1: part back there.
- 11:20Speaker 2: All right.
- 11:21Speaker 1: We are recording this during the day, so we had
- 11:22Speaker 1: a slight interruption. So if it sounded like I drifted
- 11:25Speaker 1: off and I didn't know what I was saying, I
- 11:27Speaker 1: can't go back.
- 11:28Speaker 2: You know, child walked in, that's the.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Child walked in. We gotta we gotta move forward, all right.
- 11:34Speaker 1: So investigators they head out to the scene and they
- 11:36Speaker 1: are horrified to find a young woman who had clearly
- 11:39Speaker 1: been murdered and left out on this you know, this
- 11:42Speaker 1: back road, this deserted area. Like I said, it wasn't
- 11:45Speaker 1: too far from civilization, but it was just because they
- 11:47Speaker 1: were as a subdivision nearby, but it's like, you know,
- 11:49Speaker 1: they're developing.
- 11:51Speaker 2: We had some kids in the neighborhood. They were out
- 11:54Speaker 2: by my mom's house, out there, out there fishing in
- 11:58Speaker 2: that when you cross the bridge and then you got
- 12:01Speaker 2: across the other second little bridge.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm aware, nobody else is though, but yes, well
- 12:07Speaker 1: they found a they were out there fish and they
- 12:09Speaker 1: found a dead prostitute in the water. Stewart. Oh my god.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Anyways, speaking of kids fining bodies, that.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Was what was it part of a serial killer or what? No?
- 12:22Speaker 2: I think it was just uh, I don't remember. I'd
- 12:25Speaker 2: have to look at the news stories.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Oh that's great.
- 12:27Speaker 2: I mean I was like a fourteen or fifteen and
- 12:29Speaker 2: a half, I think.
- 12:31Speaker 1: All right. So it was clear by the position and
- 12:34Speaker 1: state of the body that the young woman had been
- 12:35Speaker 1: the victim of a sexual assault that ended in a murder.
- 12:39Speaker 1: She was found lying face down, partially nude, covered in
- 12:42Speaker 1: a towel. Now, she had bruising and scratch marks all
- 12:45Speaker 1: over her, as if she had been fighting back. Now,
- 12:49Speaker 1: upon looking at the evidence around her, they knew she
- 12:51Speaker 1: was a recent graduate from a local high school based
- 12:54Speaker 1: on her class ring on her finger, putting her around
- 12:56Speaker 1: eighteen years of age. Now around they were various items
- 13:01Speaker 1: from her purse that appeared to have just been dumped out.
- 13:04Speaker 1: There were clear also clear footprints that they could pick
- 13:07Speaker 1: up where the killer had stepped. Now, another odd piece
- 13:10Speaker 1: of evidence found around the body was a ripped iPhone
- 13:13Speaker 1: charging cord like had been pulled in half. And there
- 13:17Speaker 1: was a lot of debris found around her, like someone
- 13:19Speaker 1: had just kind of dumped a bunch of stuff out
- 13:22Speaker 1: on top of her and just left, which is weird
- 13:25Speaker 1: because most people you would.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Just I don't know, take the bag and look the right.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Well, no, just like not leave a bunch of stuff
- 13:32Speaker 1: that she could have possibly had touched. Yeah, Anyways, they
- 13:36Speaker 1: also found a piece of chewed up gum near her,
- 13:38Speaker 1: but they did not believe it was she was the
- 13:40Speaker 1: one that was chewing the gum. Based on where it was,
- 13:43Speaker 1: they believed that whoever did this possibly was the person
- 13:47Speaker 1: chewing that gum. Now, another big clue at the crime
- 13:50Speaker 1: scene was these tire prints. Now there was only one set,
- 13:53Speaker 1: so they do believe that this was the vehicle that
- 13:56Speaker 1: disposed of her. They don't believe like two vehicles out
- 14:00Speaker 1: there or anything like that, because her vehicle wasn't found
- 14:02Speaker 1: around the area. It was just these one set of
- 14:05Speaker 1: tire tracks. Now, what was unique about the tire tracks
- 14:09Speaker 1: is there were four different tires on that vehicle.
- 14:15Speaker 2: And there, buddy, you got to go to the used
- 14:17Speaker 2: tire store you broke. You can't go down to Sam's
- 14:20Speaker 2: get a brand new set.
- 14:21Speaker 1: I mean, like, so this is like almost like a
- 14:23Speaker 1: fingerprint here. If you've got four random tires on your car, like,
- 14:28Speaker 1: this is like a big thing that they can go
- 14:30Speaker 1: and if they can find the car and they.
- 14:32Speaker 2: Can don't change the tires before they catch you.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Yeah, long as they don't change their.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Tires, That's what I just said.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Yeah, you're seeing.
- 14:41Speaker 2: It said, as long as they don't change their tires
- 14:43Speaker 2: before they catch them.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Okay. Anyways, so that's fine, that's what you said. Okay, okay, okay. Now,
- 14:51Speaker 1: as they are looking through the contents on the ground,
- 14:54Speaker 1: they they also do finally find a driver's license and
- 14:57Speaker 1: are able to identify her identify her as eighteen year
- 15:01Speaker 1: old Brianna Rabin.
- 15:04Speaker 2: As investigators continue to investigate this surrounding area and the
- 15:10Speaker 2: medical examiner is looking at the body, they find that
- 15:14Speaker 2: the attack was even more brutal than they originally thought.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Brianna was bleeding from her mouth and her nose. They
- 15:20Speaker 2: were able to collect evidence from underneath her fingernails, as
- 15:23Speaker 2: well as finding seamen on her back. The official cause
- 15:26Speaker 2: of death was asphyxiation via strangulation. They believed that it
- 15:30Speaker 2: was either a belt that was lying there or a
- 15:33Speaker 2: Most likely, they thought it might be that broken iPhone
- 15:36Speaker 2: charger that the person had pulled so hard strangulating strangling
- 15:40Speaker 2: her that it had broken half will investigators were going
- 15:43Speaker 2: through the crime scene. While they were going through the
- 15:46Speaker 2: crime scene, Brianna's family had been looking for her. They
- 15:49Speaker 2: knew that she had not shown up for work and
- 15:51Speaker 2: they had not heard from her, And then they started
- 15:54Speaker 2: hearing rumors around town that a body had been found.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Because this is a small town, Elgin South Care.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Yeah, can you, I mean, I can't even imagine finding
- 16:02Speaker 2: out that way. I mean, the I mean, can you
- 16:06Speaker 2: just the panic starts creeping in that you haven't heard
- 16:09Speaker 2: from your daughter, and then they're like, yeah, we found
- 16:11Speaker 2: a body out there. So they they contact police themselves
- 16:15Speaker 2: and discover that, you know, their worst fears have come
- 16:19Speaker 2: to fruition that it is Burana. Her family was in
- 16:22Speaker 2: complete shock about how this could happen to her. She
- 16:25Speaker 2: was they said that she was just your typical teenager.
- 16:28Speaker 2: She worked at a restaurant, dreamed of being a teacher,
- 16:30Speaker 2: and that she loved being around children, especially her two nephews.
- 16:34Speaker 2: So for this to happen to her, they it's just
- 16:37Speaker 2: not something that you would want to think about or
- 16:39Speaker 2: would think about.
- 16:40Speaker 1: On Yeah, there's I know nobody likes to talk about
- 16:43Speaker 1: like activities that can put yourself at like in situations
- 16:49Speaker 1: and stuff like that. But if she wasn't, she wasn't
- 16:52Speaker 1: go She wasn't hanging around like bad people or anything
- 16:56Speaker 1: like that, like or anything like that. She was just
- 16:58Speaker 1: your noise.
- 16:59Speaker 2: She wasn't walking into affic Yes she was. You wouldn't
- 17:02Speaker 2: expect her to get a hit by a car.
- 17:03Speaker 1: No, she was not want to be like, oh yeah,
- 17:06Speaker 1: she's always in and out of trouble. She was around drugs,
- 17:08Speaker 1: she was around none of that. She didn't do any
- 17:10Speaker 1: of that, not partying, things like that. She just was
- 17:14Speaker 1: not that any of those things before everybody gets in
- 17:17Speaker 1: a tizzy. Not that any of those things would justify
- 17:20Speaker 1: you be murdered. I'm just saying, if you happened that
- 17:25Speaker 1: something could happen. Unfortunately, So she just did not live
- 17:29Speaker 1: a lifestyle where you would she would put herself in
- 17:31Speaker 1: a situations to be around dangerous people, and by people
- 17:36Speaker 1: we mean men.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Wait what yes?
- 17:40Speaker 1: All right, So they still not had not located Brianna's car,
- 17:43Speaker 1: so they put a bolo out for that and it
- 17:45Speaker 1: found it at a nearby waffle house. Now, they had
- 17:48Speaker 1: some hope that they had caught the killer of on
- 17:52Speaker 1: some valance camera right there, because there was a surveillance
- 17:55Speaker 1: camera at the waffle house. However, they did find a
- 17:58Speaker 1: girl that's similar to walking in with a guy, but
- 18:01Speaker 1: it ended up being a dead end and the camera
- 18:04Speaker 1: never actually caught her going into the waffle house or
- 18:07Speaker 1: anything like that, So it seemed like she just parked
- 18:09Speaker 1: her car or someone parked her car at the waffle
- 18:12Speaker 1: house and they never actually went inside because the camera
- 18:15Speaker 1: wasn't pointing at her car. The peak what happened was
- 18:19Speaker 1: there was a girl looked like her with the guy
- 18:21Speaker 1: walked into the waffle house, but then it wasn't her.
- 18:24Speaker 2: But her car was not parked in front of the camera.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Yeah, so that they couldn't see exactly where who she
- 18:29Speaker 1: went or what yeah, or somebody else. Yeah. So the
- 18:35Speaker 1: next break they got was finding her cell phone. It
- 18:37Speaker 1: was an iPhone and it was about one hundred feet
- 18:39Speaker 1: from the crime scene because this was a wooded area
- 18:42Speaker 1: from around so whoever it was like through the phone
- 18:45Speaker 1: and so they had to After looking all around, they
- 18:47Speaker 1: finally found it. However, it was locked and they couldn't
- 18:50Speaker 1: access it, so they had to ship it off to
- 18:52Speaker 1: Apple to see if they could get into it for them,
- 18:54Speaker 1: but you know how.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Apple is, they don't want to be breaking into bounds.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Now, they begin to talk to friends and family to
- 19:01Speaker 1: see if they can get a timeline of when the
- 19:03Speaker 1: last time Brianna was seen. Now they find out that
- 19:06Speaker 1: she stopped off at Texas Broadhouse, which is where she
- 19:09Speaker 1: worked at She was able to gather her tip money
- 19:13Speaker 1: around noon that day, and this was all confirmed via
- 19:16Speaker 1: security footage. They see her walking in, she goes up front,
- 19:20Speaker 1: gets her tip money, and then leaves. Cause I'm guessing,
- 19:23Speaker 1: like Texas wrote, I've been a waitress before, but everywhere
- 19:26Speaker 1: I worked was a smaller establishment. I'm assuming like they
- 19:28Speaker 1: tip out at the end of the night, like they
- 19:31Speaker 1: collecked all the tips and maybe tip split or something
- 19:34Speaker 1: like that.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I've heard of that where the waitresses
- 19:38Speaker 2: all split evenly of their tips.
- 19:40Speaker 1: I don't like that, why because I made really good tips,
- 19:44Speaker 1: because I was because all.
- 19:45Speaker 2: The other because all the other waitresses were working hard.
- 19:49Speaker 1: No, because all of them sucked at their job. And
- 19:51Speaker 1: then be like I was like older and like hung
- 19:53Speaker 1: over most of the time, not looking cute or anything
- 19:57Speaker 1: like that. I was just like this. I was in
- 19:59Speaker 1: school full time for like engineering, I was tired everything
- 20:04Speaker 1: that looked like shit. I'd come in, I'd make so
- 20:07Speaker 1: much more money than the rest of them. And then
- 20:08Speaker 1: these cute little like beep popping around. They're cute little
- 20:12Speaker 1: got their makeup all done, and I think they were
- 20:14Speaker 1: always surprised that I made more than them. It's like,
- 20:16Speaker 1: because at some point, somebody doesn't care if you're cute
- 20:19Speaker 1: if you don't refill their drinks and get their or right.
- 20:23Speaker 1: So yeah, that's kind of important. So anyway, so no,
- 20:26Speaker 1: I would not want to do that because I made
- 20:28Speaker 1: really good tips with some people there did not because
- 20:30Speaker 1: they weren't attentive to the tables. So anyway, so she goes,
- 20:35Speaker 1: she collects her money from the restaurants. She then headed
- 20:38Speaker 1: over to her best friend's house to have lunch, and
- 20:40Speaker 1: she stayed there a few hours now it was I
- 20:44Speaker 1: think it was the best friend's brother then showed up
- 20:47Speaker 1: to help her install a car radio. You know, this
- 20:49Speaker 1: is twenty fourteen, so it was one of those car
- 20:51Speaker 1: radis with the actual like I think she had the
- 20:53Speaker 1: CD player. Remember they always like lit up.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Yeah, you gotta get the little face plate detaches because
- 20:58Speaker 2: so they people get stick.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Yes, so I think he sold her one of those,
- 21:03Speaker 1: and so he was going over to help her install
- 21:06Speaker 1: this radio. They spent a little while trying to figure
- 21:09Speaker 1: out how to do that, but whenever he couldn't get
- 21:11Speaker 1: it installed, she started to call around to see if
- 21:13Speaker 1: anybody else around could help her, friends or anything like that.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Wants her brand new radio she just bought.
- 21:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I remember whenever I got one of those installed
- 21:21Speaker 1: in my car, it was like wow, and it would
- 21:26Speaker 1: do like the vault like the sound thing would have
- 21:28Speaker 1: like a fancy like the bars. Yeah.
- 21:32Speaker 2: Investigators have to go through multiple people to find out
- 21:35Speaker 2: when the last time Brianna was heard from. This is
- 21:38Speaker 2: due to the fact that Apple said that it would
- 21:41Speaker 2: take months to recover her text messages if they could
- 21:44Speaker 2: recover them at all.
- 21:46Speaker 1: I think they were just telling them that they're like,
- 21:48Speaker 1: we're not going to get they didn't want to fall
- 21:49Speaker 1: on say we're not going to go get Remember I
- 21:52Speaker 1: remember there was that terrorist over there in California and
- 21:54Speaker 1: they wouldn't get into their thing and they're like no,
- 21:56Speaker 1: and the whole country was like seriously and they're like no, No.
- 22:00Speaker 1: I understand what they're saying, though, It's like they can't
- 22:03Speaker 1: they can't turn to people breaking into that stuff. It's
- 22:06Speaker 1: like the ancestry thing or like the twenty threes and
- 22:10Speaker 1: means and stuff. They're like, we can't if we start
- 22:13Speaker 1: letting law enforcement get into these.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Systems fishing around and there whenever that we will.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Lose our entire business. So I understand Apple's stance. It
- 22:22Speaker 1: sucks for the people that trying to when you're trying
- 22:24Speaker 1: to solve with these but that's their their stance.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Yeah, So Apples, I guess they're either lying to them
- 22:31Speaker 2: or they haven't gotten to the point where they're.
- 22:33Speaker 1: Like they're probably just like yeah, they're probably just like
- 22:36Speaker 1: just tell them, it'll take a long time.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Maybe maybe they'll go away.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Maybe they'll go away or figure it out themselves.
- 22:42Speaker 2: So police start doing it the old fashioned way by
- 22:44Speaker 2: doing police work. They do this by talking to Brianna's
- 22:48Speaker 2: friends and looking at when they were texting with her
- 22:51Speaker 2: back and forth. The last time, the key time that
- 22:54Speaker 2: they want to look at is between five thirty PM
- 22:56Speaker 2: when she left her friend savannahs and seven forty four
- 22:59Speaker 2: pm was the last time they could find a text
- 23:02Speaker 2: message from Brianna. They did find three different people that
- 23:05Speaker 2: Brianna had spoken to that evening or met up with. However,
- 23:09Speaker 2: all of their alibis did check out and they just
- 23:13Speaker 2: appeared to be people that she went to try and
- 23:15Speaker 2: get help from to get this radio installed.
- 23:17Speaker 1: Yeah, so they continue to scour the town to see
- 23:21Speaker 1: if they can come up with any other surveillance video
- 23:23Speaker 1: that catches Brianna in her vehicle. Well, they got lucky
- 23:27Speaker 1: at around seven thirty pm at a gas station next
- 23:30Speaker 1: to the waffle house, they pick up Brianna's vehicle and
- 23:32Speaker 1: see her getting in another vehicle leaving. However, it's pretty
- 23:36Speaker 1: far off in the distance because again the car was
- 23:39Speaker 1: parked at the waffle house and this is the gas station.
- 23:42Speaker 1: So I mean even today, like you still don't have
- 23:45Speaker 1: great cameras. This was twenty fourteen. It's your basic surveillance
- 23:48Speaker 1: camera if you can imagine it's blurry. They could tell
- 23:52Speaker 1: that it was a like a dark colored sedan is
- 23:56Speaker 1: what they could tell. But they couldn't get any type
- 23:58Speaker 1: of license played or anything like that. And they also
- 24:01Speaker 1: really couldn't tell who the person was driving the car.
- 24:04Speaker 1: All they knew is that Brianna got into that car. Anyways,
- 24:09Speaker 1: they did have the text to her friends during that
- 24:11Speaker 1: time that she when she was in the car, because
- 24:13Speaker 1: it was remember they had till seven forty four pm,
- 24:17Speaker 1: liss is around seven thirty that they picked up. So
- 24:20Speaker 1: she's texting a friend while she's in the car, and
- 24:23Speaker 1: she never once said I'm scared. Helped me. Like, she
- 24:27Speaker 1: had access to her phone while she's in this car,
- 24:29Speaker 1: So she was clear to them that she would knew
- 24:31Speaker 1: the person. She was comfortable with them, because otherwise, if
- 24:34Speaker 1: she had access to her phone and someone had was
- 24:36Speaker 1: making her uncomfortable something, she would have been texting her
- 24:38Speaker 1: friends saying, I'm.
- 24:39Speaker 2: In this car with this weirdo.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm I'm uncomfortable yeah, or someone like forced me
- 24:43Speaker 1: into this car or something like that. So they did
- 24:45Speaker 1: feel like it was someone that she knew. Now after
- 24:48Speaker 1: finding out this information about the dark colored sedan that
- 24:52Speaker 1: Brianna got into that night, they go back and talk
- 24:54Speaker 1: to one of the friends whose house she was at
- 24:56Speaker 1: last trying to get the radio installed. So then because
- 25:02Speaker 1: before whenever it was two brothers that she went to
- 25:05Speaker 1: go see to help get the radio installed. So at
- 25:07Speaker 1: the time, like they had the alibi, Well, whenever they
- 25:09Speaker 1: talked to this kid again, he adds that an X
- 25:13Speaker 1: some little bit of extra information that's really really important
- 25:16Speaker 1: that there was actually a third person there that night
- 25:18Speaker 1: and his name was Stephen Kelly. Now, Stephen was a
- 25:21Speaker 1: twenty one year old who had been in and out
- 25:23Speaker 1: of trouble. Now, Brianna did know Stephen, mainly she knew
- 25:27Speaker 1: his girlfriend, so she would have been comfortable around him.
- 25:30Speaker 1: She would have met him in the same friend circles.
- 25:32Speaker 1: She was at her friend's house with him, so that
- 25:36Speaker 1: kind of checks out that this could possibly be the
- 25:38Speaker 1: person that she was with. Now, the friend stated that
- 25:42Speaker 1: when Brianna left around seven fifteen that night, that Stephen
- 25:45Speaker 1: left shortly after, but he said he didn't know where
- 25:48Speaker 1: they were going. So the police they do show him
- 25:51Speaker 1: the vehicle that Brianna got into, and the friend was like, yeah,
- 25:54Speaker 1: that kind of looks like Steven's car. It's a dark
- 25:56Speaker 1: colored Sedan, that's what he has.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Investigators drive by Steven's home and see that he does
- 26:02Speaker 2: have a dark blue Chevy and Pala that looks like
- 26:05Speaker 2: the car on the surveillance video. They were also able
- 26:09Speaker 2: to find a home with security footage showing the Impala
- 26:13Speaker 2: driving towards the crime scene. They felt very comfortable that
- 26:17Speaker 2: Stephen was most likely the last person with Brianna, but
- 26:20Speaker 2: now they have to go and confront him and ask
- 26:23Speaker 2: him about Brianna's disappearance. They show up at his house
- 26:26Speaker 2: they start talking to him, asking him if he would
- 26:28Speaker 2: mind coming down so they can talk to him about
- 26:30Speaker 2: her disappearance and murder. While standing there looking at him,
- 26:34Speaker 2: they did notice that he had quite a few scratch
- 26:36Speaker 2: marks on his arms, as if he'd been in some
- 26:39Speaker 2: sort of struggle or fight. They bring Stephen into interview
- 26:43Speaker 2: him and he does says that he was at the
- 26:44Speaker 2: house where Brianna had been, but he was not there
- 26:47Speaker 2: at the same time as her. However, police have several
- 26:51Speaker 2: witnesses stating that he had interacted with Brianna there and
- 26:55Speaker 2: tried to install her car radio, including the two friends
- 26:58Speaker 2: that were there plus the of the two friends.
- 27:01Speaker 1: This person is not very brake. They're not dealing with
- 27:06Speaker 1: a sophisticated criminal based on like, I mean, who drives
- 27:11Speaker 1: the vehicle with the four tires into the crime scene?
- 27:15Speaker 1: Like this is not smart? This is twenty fourteen.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Well, I mean, fortunately for law enforcement and cold case unit,
- 27:23Speaker 2: this guy was really stupid.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Yes he was. I'm gonna just say, this is a
- 27:27Speaker 1: stupid criminal. Like we get some we get some conniving ones,
- 27:31Speaker 1: we get some they get lucky, but then we also
- 27:33Speaker 1: get some like stupid ones, and this one is a
- 27:35Speaker 1: stupid one.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Yes, he's he's trying to get himself caught because now
- 27:40Speaker 2: he's caught in a lie. And he finally admits that
- 27:42Speaker 2: he did leave at about the same time as Brianna,
- 27:45Speaker 2: and that he arrived at his home at about eight.
- 27:49Speaker 2: They do confront him with the video from the gas station,
- 27:52Speaker 2: where they say where they see Brianna getting into his car.
- 27:57Speaker 2: He tries to deny that she was in his car.
- 28:00Speaker 2: He quickly tried to change that story and say that
- 28:03Speaker 2: he did pick up Brianna, but only gave her a
- 28:05Speaker 2: ride back to the.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Friend's house, which makes no sense why she would drop
- 28:08Speaker 1: her car off at the waffle house and he just
- 28:10Speaker 1: picks her up and takes her back to the two
- 28:13Speaker 1: friend friend's house.
- 28:14Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, Yeah, it's like we're not going to catch
- 28:17Speaker 2: that lie. Yeah.
- 28:17Speaker 1: Yeah, he just keeps lying and then they completely they
- 28:20Speaker 1: confronted him with actual evidence and then he's like, oh, actually, yeah,
- 28:23Speaker 1: I forgot I did pick her up. I just took
- 28:25Speaker 1: her back to the house though, So.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Now I got him in another lie that he took
- 28:28Speaker 2: him took her back to the friend's house. And they
- 28:32Speaker 2: did end up confronting him with the video surveillance of
- 28:35Speaker 2: his car driving toward the crime scene, saying that he
- 28:40Speaker 2: had trapped himself pretty much in his own webel eyes.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Stephen finally requests an attorney.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Yep. So, as Stephen was being interviewed, they had taken
- 28:50Speaker 1: his car into process to see if there was any
- 28:53Speaker 1: evidence of Brianna being in the car or connecting him
- 28:56Speaker 1: to the crime scene at all. This is when those
- 28:58Speaker 1: four different tires and the tracks of the crime scene
- 29:01Speaker 1: came back matching. And so this is again like it's
- 29:05Speaker 1: like a fingerprint, Like you're not gonna have four random
- 29:09Speaker 1: tires that are in the same place. Yeah, it's like
- 29:12Speaker 1: this is not this is very unique to his vehicle. Now,
- 29:17Speaker 1: they were also able to match his shoes to the
- 29:19Speaker 1: shoe prints found at the crime scene. And then finally
- 29:21Speaker 1: that last straw was a DNA sample did connect him
- 29:24Speaker 1: to the crime scene. So like this is they have
- 29:28Speaker 1: tons of evidence against this guy.
- 29:30Speaker 2: If they let this sound bitch play out for so
- 29:32Speaker 2: they didn't have to go to trial, I'm going to
- 29:33Speaker 2: be upset they did.
- 29:35Speaker 1: Anyways, investigators believe what happened was that or anyway, So
- 29:41Speaker 1: they have all this evidence, they are able to arrest
- 29:43Speaker 1: Stephen and charge him with her murder and rape. Now,
- 29:47Speaker 1: investigators believe what happened was she got in the car
- 29:50Speaker 1: with him thinking he was just another friend, Like he
- 29:53Speaker 1: offered to help her with this radio or whatever or
- 29:56Speaker 1: something like that, and then so she went with him
- 29:58Speaker 1: to get tools like some He used some story like hey,
- 30:01Speaker 1: I can help you with this or whatever, and she
- 30:04Speaker 1: felt comfortable enough around him that she did willingly get
- 30:07Speaker 1: in the car. However, they believe he probably made some
- 30:09Speaker 1: sort of advances at her and she didn't feel the
- 30:11Speaker 1: same way, and that's when he attacked her and then
- 30:14Speaker 1: drove her out to this remote location and strangled her
- 30:18Speaker 1: and raped her.
- 30:19Speaker 2: With all the evidence that piled up against old Stephen Kelly,
- 30:23Speaker 2: he decided to plead guilty to the rape and murder
- 30:25Speaker 2: of Brionna. He was sentenced to fifty years in prison,
- 30:28Speaker 2: and her family, as you might imagine, was extremely upset
- 30:32Speaker 2: about the sentencing because they wanted him to get life
- 30:35Speaker 2: without parole, even though but this fifty year sentence he
- 30:39Speaker 2: got him would put him in jail until he was
- 30:41Speaker 2: seventy two.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Yes, hopefully he dies before.
- 30:43Speaker 2: Then, thankfully, Kara for all involved. In February of twenty
- 30:47Speaker 2: twenty two, Stephen was found dead in his cell. The
- 30:51Speaker 2: only information that was found about this is that he
- 30:54Speaker 2: was being treated for cat COVID and in autopsy would
- 30:58Speaker 2: be performed.
- 31:00Speaker 1: That's all I could find. That's however, when Stu's acting
- 31:03Speaker 1: like he's.
- 31:04Speaker 2: I couldn't find anything about the outcome.
- 31:07Speaker 1: Way, there was something sketchy going on, because hopefully it
- 31:10Speaker 1: was like prison justice got the business end it because
- 31:13Speaker 1: the family was extremely upset that he did not get
- 31:16Speaker 1: life in prison. Why the judge would only give him
- 31:18Speaker 1: fifty years and not give him life in prison is
- 31:21Speaker 1: beyond me. Anyways, he would have got he probably would
- 31:24Speaker 1: have died in prison anyways, but he probably would have
- 31:26Speaker 1: lived a lot longer however. Yeah, they all the jail
- 31:30Speaker 1: records said was prison or dies. All they knew was
- 31:34Speaker 1: he was being treated for COVID and they were going
- 31:35Speaker 1: to do an autopsy. I started high and low. I
- 31:38Speaker 1: could not find any follow up on this autopsy, so
- 31:42Speaker 1: I doubt he died from COVID. This was what year
- 31:45Speaker 1: was it, twenty.
- 31:46Speaker 2: Twenty two two?
- 31:47Speaker 1: Yeah, we were past not saying past everybody. I'm sure
- 31:50Speaker 1: someone out there had someone dying forgot. We weren't in
- 31:53Speaker 1: the don't up. I know, we weren't in the twenty
- 31:57Speaker 1: twenty twenty one time frame, you know, where the especially
- 32:02Speaker 1: vulnerable populations were passing from COVID. This was twenty twenty two.
- 32:07Speaker 1: I think the deaths had gone down quite a bit.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Like twenty twenty two, COVID was more like a cold,
- 32:13Speaker 1: I feel like for most people. So he was young,
- 32:16Speaker 1: so I feel like something happened and they just were like,
- 32:19Speaker 1: we'll do an autopsy and then they were like COVID yep,
- 32:22Speaker 1: and then they just kind of let it be a
- 32:25Speaker 1: COVID type death.
- 32:28Speaker 2: Well, yeah, a lot less paperwork than you got a
- 32:31Speaker 2: present murder. Then you got to investigate who murdered him.
- 32:34Speaker 2: Then you got to bring that person to trial for murder.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Remember during COVID, people would die from other things, and
- 32:38Speaker 1: they would but if they had COVID. So I remember
- 32:40Speaker 1: there was one he died in a car crash and
- 32:42Speaker 1: like it was a death and it was.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Just because he was getting money. They were getting federal
- 32:48Speaker 2: money for COVID.
- 32:49Speaker 1: Yeah, there was a lot of looks. In hindsight, COVID
- 32:53Speaker 1: was very sketchy. Not saying it wasn't a very dangerous
- 32:56Speaker 1: thing for a lot of vulnerable populations and things like that,
- 33:00Speaker 1: but it was. There was a lot of fraud involved
- 33:01Speaker 1: because there was a lot of government anytime there's government money,
- 33:05Speaker 1: there is fraud, rampant fraud.
- 33:06Speaker 2: So ware to get my hands on some of that
- 33:08Speaker 2: government money myself.
- 33:10Speaker 1: We are thankful for COVID for taking out this guy,
- 33:12Speaker 1: whether COVID did it or COVID was used as a
- 33:15Speaker 1: cover for prison justice, prison justice, So for her family
- 33:20Speaker 1: that he he got what was coming to him.
- 33:22Speaker 2: So maybe somebody put some money in somebody's commissary.
- 33:25Speaker 1: Maybe we don't know that got.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Some extra ramen noodles that week yep.
- 33:31Speaker 1: Anyways, so that is our case out of South Carolina. STU,
- 33:34Speaker 1: do you have your y'all need you? You should have one,
- 33:36Speaker 1: because I sent you one this morning.
- 33:37Speaker 2: I was gonna say, yes, some lady something he won
- 33:39Speaker 2: this morning.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Yes, I heard one of those when I got in
- 33:42Speaker 1: the car this morning. It was like the like it
- 33:45Speaker 1: was on the radio stage. I guess you were drove
- 33:47Speaker 1: last than you were listening to the radio. So it
- 33:49Speaker 1: was one of those like not.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Shock jocks, that's Morning Zoo crew.
- 33:54Speaker 1: Yeah, something like that. And so they were doing like
- 33:57Speaker 1: who's our dumbest criminal of the week or whatever, and
- 33:59Speaker 1: so this was one of the stories.
- 34:00Speaker 2: Yes, so I don't need to ask you if it's
- 34:02Speaker 2: Florida or not Florida.
- 34:04Speaker 1: You know, I don't remember where it was.
- 34:05Speaker 2: I'll just pause and let the let the listeners try
- 34:08Speaker 2: and figure it out.
- 34:09Speaker 1: Oh, I don't know where it was because all I
- 34:10Speaker 1: knew was by the time I like picked because you
- 34:13Speaker 1: can't rewind on radio obviously. Now actually you can in
- 34:16Speaker 1: my car. You can rewind for like twenty minutes. Yeah really, yeah,
- 34:20Speaker 1: you can it records for like twenty minutes. My car's old,
- 34:24Speaker 1: it's the demobile. It's the hell damage to be Hickle,
- 34:26Speaker 1: but she's she's trusty and reliable. Anyways, I didn't think
- 34:31Speaker 1: about that, but all I picked up was the name Michael,
- 34:35Speaker 1: Mexican restaurant and Wells Fargo. So I don't actually know.
- 34:40Speaker 1: I don't I can't remember if it was Florida or
- 34:42Speaker 1: not Florida. I'm going to go with not Florida.
- 34:46Speaker 2: Man allegedly rob's West Jordan bank spends money on Mexican food,
- 34:52Speaker 2: not Florida.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Huh is that where's West Jordan? That I know? It's
- 34:59Speaker 1: not the country Jordan?
- 35:00Speaker 2: Obviously not, because I don't think we'd be getting a
- 35:03Speaker 2: crime report about a Mexican rustier or.
- 35:05Speaker 1: A Wells Fargo.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Yes, I don't know.
- 35:08Speaker 1: Maybe if our listeners are in Jordan, maybe you're so
- 35:11Speaker 1: random Mexican restaurant.
- 35:12Speaker 2: I don't think so that next to a Wells Fargo. Yes.
- 35:15Speaker 2: Fox thirteen, Salt Lake City, Utah. It was Utah, West Jordan, Utah.
- 35:21Speaker 2: A man is facing criminal solicitation aggravated robbery chargers after
- 35:26Speaker 2: police say my phone just refreshed in the middle of
- 35:29Speaker 2: reading a story. I hate that.
- 35:32Speaker 1: You want to finish the story because I know the.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Story now after police say he robbed a West Jordan
- 35:36Speaker 2: bank then spent the stolen money on a Mexican on
- 35:39Speaker 2: Mexican food and a tip. Michael Grant Robinson, three names,
- 35:44Speaker 2: probably a serial killer in his off time, age thirty five,
- 35:48Speaker 2: was arrested on Monday. According to court documents, West Jordan
- 35:52Speaker 2: police were called to a Wells Fargo bank at three
- 35:55Speaker 2: eight eight nine West Campus Few Drive, if you know
- 35:57Speaker 2: where that's at on Monday places. We're told that around
- 36:01Speaker 2: one PM, a man later identified as Michael entered the
- 36:05Speaker 2: bank and handed a note to the teller. The note
- 36:09Speaker 2: said allegedly said I got a weapon. I need one
- 36:13Speaker 2: thousand dollars. After handing the teller of the note, Robinson
- 36:16Speaker 2: opened his jacket the show a handle of a knife.
- 36:20Speaker 2: At the time, the teller says they believe that the
- 36:22Speaker 2: knife handle appeared to them to be a gun of
- 36:26Speaker 2: some sort.
- 36:26Speaker 1: Well, I don't I'm just a bank employee. I don't
- 36:30Speaker 1: give a fuck about Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo is one
- 36:32Speaker 1: of those terrible banks too.
- 36:33Speaker 2: Yeah, they were opening accounts.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Them and Bank of America are really not I'm not
- 36:37Speaker 1: saying all the banks are probably a little skeedu but
- 36:40Speaker 1: Wells Fargo and Bank of America are two that I
- 36:42Speaker 1: would never bank with ever again. They are predatory like
- 36:48Speaker 1: Bank of America.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Oh we have Bank of MA.
- 36:51Speaker 1: We have we don't have a bank account. We have
- 36:53Speaker 1: a credit card there, we don't have a I would
- 36:55Speaker 1: never do banking with them.
- 36:57Speaker 2: Who do you think you're? IRN counselor?
- 37:00Speaker 1: I don't know, Stu.
- 37:02Speaker 2: Is that bank from marilynd run by Boa?
- 37:05Speaker 1: Oh well then we need to move that. I hate bank.
- 37:09Speaker 1: You know what it is because when I was young.
- 37:11Speaker 1: This is why I hate Bank of America.
- 37:12Speaker 2: And I finished my story before you tell us why
- 37:14Speaker 2: you hate Bank of America.
- 37:15Speaker 1: Okay, fine.
- 37:16Speaker 2: The teller allegedly handed Robinson one hundred and forty dollars.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Tellers like, we don't have one thousand dollars.
- 37:22Speaker 2: Here, take this, here's one hundred and forty. It's all twenties.
- 37:24Speaker 2: That's all I got. The teller then told Robinson that
- 37:27Speaker 2: was all she had and he left the bank. After
- 37:29Speaker 2: leaving the bank, police say Robinson went to the Puerto Vierte,
- 37:34Speaker 2: Mexican Grille and ordered a meal that totaled nineteen dollars
- 37:38Speaker 2: and ninety three cents. After receiving the meal. Police said
- 37:41Speaker 2: Robinson gave the remainder of the money as a tip
- 37:44Speaker 2: to the waiter who served him.
- 37:45Speaker 1: So he's just Robinhood.
- 37:46Speaker 2: Yes really. Police later detained Robinson as he matched the
- 37:50Speaker 2: description of the suspect in the bank robbery. Investigators say
- 37:54Speaker 2: he also matches his matches surveillance video from the bank.
- 37:59Speaker 1: Just let him go. Come on, All he did was
- 38:01Speaker 1: support a local business, okay, and help a wait around.
- 38:04Speaker 2: Yes, so anyway, I would Bank of America du to
- 38:09Speaker 2: you wore we go.
- 38:11Speaker 1: Because because I find it okay. So like of course
- 38:14Speaker 1: when I was young, I would get over draft fees.
- 38:18Speaker 1: But you know when they found this later on, they
- 38:20Speaker 1: found this to be illegal. I don't think any of
- 38:22Speaker 1: the banks can just continually add over draft fees. They
- 38:26Speaker 1: didn't have any of those stops back then, you know,
- 38:28Speaker 1: where you could say just decline my card or after
- 38:31Speaker 1: so many so I got like it would sit there
- 38:34Speaker 1: and do one every single time, like a small cy'd
- 38:37Speaker 1: be like three dollars, and then you get a thirty
- 38:40Speaker 1: five dollars fee. And then by the time you realized it,
- 38:42Speaker 1: because this was back whenever I was banking with before,
- 38:45Speaker 1: like you had the app and stuff like that. So
- 38:47Speaker 1: you just open it up on your computer. You know,
- 38:49Speaker 1: you're like three hundred dollars in the hole and it's
- 38:50Speaker 1: all overdraft fees over like two and three dollars things,
- 38:54Speaker 1: which I think they found like the Congress or whoever,
- 38:59Speaker 1: when they did all these like credit card things they
- 39:01Speaker 1: found that was like predatory, predatory, predatory. Sure to sit
- 39:07Speaker 1: there and keep charging people overdraft fees like that on
- 39:10Speaker 1: like small amounts and not stop. So basically Bank of
- 39:14Speaker 1: America would just keep going and.
- 39:16Speaker 2: Be like, oh, yes, wip it again, fib it again.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Yes. Nowadays you can like just say decline my card
- 39:21Speaker 1: or whatever. You know, now they have that option and
- 39:23Speaker 1: stuff like that, and I don't think they can just
- 39:25Speaker 1: continually add overdraft fees like that. But when I was young,
- 39:29Speaker 1: like that was like really, you know, like I'm nineteen
- 39:32Speaker 1: twenty years old. That was like I'm never going to
- 39:34Speaker 1: I will never financially.
- 39:36Speaker 2: I'm the tiger out.
- 39:38Speaker 1: And so I think eventually, so I canceled my bank.
- 39:42Speaker 1: After I did that, I canceled, I did move on.
- 39:45Speaker 1: So I've hated Bank of America ever since then. I
- 39:48Speaker 1: feel like it was just like sketchy and Wells Fargo
- 39:50Speaker 1: was doing the same thing.
- 39:51Speaker 2: Well, they were all doing sometimes happened, but that's just
- 39:54Speaker 2: who I been to me at the bank that I
- 39:55Speaker 2: was with, because my account for some reason went down
- 39:59Speaker 2: to zero one time and I didn't know it, and
- 40:02Speaker 2: I was out the next day work and just wipping
- 40:04Speaker 2: my card for this, that and the other.
- 40:09Speaker 1: I know, But you were at a local bank. I'm
- 40:10Speaker 1: pretty sure they probably forgave you a lot of that.
- 40:12Speaker 2: They did.
- 40:13Speaker 1: They were like, you get one per year. The rest
- 40:17Speaker 1: of them fuck you.
- 40:18Speaker 2: I went to see my personal banker at the bank.
- 40:20Speaker 2: I said, hey, look, here is what happened.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Yes, you had that lady that worked at the bank
- 40:24Speaker 1: because you had a local bank that would help you
- 40:26Speaker 1: out if something like that happened.
- 40:28Speaker 2: So, yeah, it was a whole ordeal.
- 40:31Speaker 1: We do not have those current issues. I'm much more
- 40:33Speaker 1: responsible with money or somebody's divorced from somebody with those issues.
- 40:44Speaker 1: Why are you looking at me like that, Well, I
- 40:45Speaker 1: don't know what you're talking about. You weren't being irresponsible
- 40:48Speaker 1: with the money. Somebody else in your life was possibly
- 40:51Speaker 1: being irresponsible with the money. So you and the lady
- 40:55Speaker 1: at the bank we had to have a talk. Yes,
- 40:58Speaker 1: So I am no longer irresponsible with money. Well, I
- 41:03Speaker 1: am irresponsible, but now I have grown up moneyes.
- 41:07Speaker 2: You actually have extra money, so you can be responsible.
- 41:09Speaker 1: Yes, there's a buffer between my yes, and I would
- 41:13Speaker 1: never like, even like today, my bank card if it
- 41:16Speaker 1: ever got down, it just you need to decline my
- 41:18Speaker 1: ass So you're like, don't be but now you get
- 41:21Speaker 1: text alerts, like you're very aware of when your bank
- 41:24Speaker 1: is getting your bank accounts getting low.
- 41:26Speaker 2: Yeah, you can set let me. You can be like,
- 41:27Speaker 2: if my shit goes blow a hundred dollars, I need
- 41:29Speaker 2: to know.
- 41:30Speaker 1: Yeah, so I have like text set up if it
- 41:33Speaker 1: goes blow a certain amount, if there's certain charges that
- 41:35Speaker 1: are over a certain amount, it texts me immediately.
- 41:38Speaker 2: So anyways, but I got emails for every transaction.
- 41:42Speaker 1: Of mine. Yes, you're you don't have access to my
- 41:46Speaker 1: bank account.
- 41:48Speaker 2: You don't have access to my bank Well you do.
- 41:51Speaker 2: All you got to do is get in my phone
- 41:52Speaker 2: and you got access.
- 41:53Speaker 1: Well, all you got to do is get in my phone.
- 41:54Speaker 1: You have access to it because I took the freaking
- 41:56Speaker 1: face thing off my phone because it was broke, because
- 41:59Speaker 1: my phone phones old and it's we do. I just
- 42:03Speaker 1: want to be clear though. We do have a Our
- 42:05Speaker 1: setup is he has his original bank account because we
- 42:07Speaker 1: dated for a very long time before we got married,
- 42:10Speaker 1: and I have my bank account, and then we have
- 42:11Speaker 1: a joint bank account. If anybody's wondering to like, oh, well,
- 42:14Speaker 1: they're just living separate lifestyles sometimes, yes, so we still
- 42:19Speaker 1: kept that where I have my bank account, he has
- 42:21Speaker 1: his been count and then we have a joint bank account.
- 42:23Speaker 1: Dave Ramsey would not be He'd be like, we're headed
- 42:27Speaker 1: from You're going to share a bedroom, but not a
- 42:30Speaker 1: bank account.
- 42:31Speaker 2: Mm hmm mm hmmm.
- 42:32Speaker 1: All right, that's enough personal sharing for the days too. Okay,
- 42:36Speaker 1: So to recap, recap, recap, we didn't get married or
- 42:42Speaker 1: we didn't get murdered at the base camp Terlingua. I
- 42:45Speaker 1: wouldn't suggest going and booking through those people though, U.
- 42:50Speaker 1: Two I'm pregnant. Three we're sorry we missed last week.
- 42:54Speaker 1: Four we have a joint bank account. Five Dave Ramsey
- 42:59Speaker 1: would be disappoint Six.
- 43:02Speaker 2: I just saw it today. It's crazy breaking news. Savannah
- 43:05Speaker 2: Guthrie's mom has been kidnapped and Pema Arizona.
- 43:08Speaker 1: Okay, that's not breaking news.
- 43:10Speaker 2: Well I was breaking a couple hours ago.
- 43:12Speaker 1: Okay, well, but.
- 43:14Speaker 2: Not by the time this is being listening to.
- 43:15Speaker 1: But do you have any other additional information?
- 43:18Speaker 2: No, that's all they got is that they she's missing.
- 43:23Speaker 2: They believe it's crime scene. They believe she was kidnapped.
- 43:26Speaker 2: No ransom note. They don't know if anything's missing. If
- 43:29Speaker 2: they are, they're not saying anything.
- 43:30Speaker 1: But Savannah gun three did this for attention. I'm kidding.
- 43:36Speaker 1: I don't know anything about Savannah gun.
- 43:37Speaker 2: Three, or she's some morning host I.
- 43:39Speaker 1: Know she is. I'm saying like, I don't know if
- 43:41Speaker 1: I like her, don't like her. She seems well, what
- 43:43Speaker 1: about her mom?
- 43:44Speaker 2: Does that have any bearing on whether or not you
- 43:46Speaker 2: think her mom should be kidnapped?
- 43:47Speaker 1: You know, Sue, there's only so much room for me.
- 43:50Speaker 2: To empathy in this world.
- 43:51Speaker 1: We're not meant to know all these all these informations.
- 43:54Speaker 1: I don't know Savannah gun three. I don't know her.
- 43:57Speaker 2: Mom, obviously, not because it's Guthrie not on.
- 44:00Speaker 1: It's not that I don't feel sorry for late, But
- 44:04Speaker 1: do we know she was older? Does she not have
- 44:07Speaker 1: Alzheimer's or there could be something like that going on?
- 44:09Speaker 2: Oh I said she was mentally with it.
- 44:11Speaker 1: So okay, Well, well we'll keep it.
- 44:13Speaker 2: I said, there's a crime scene the polace o. There's
- 44:15Speaker 2: a crime scene.
- 44:16Speaker 1: Well, that's just crazy. They had to have known she
- 44:18Speaker 1: was Savannah Got threes mother mother, and then why wouldn't
- 44:22Speaker 1: there be a ransom? Like I do think the only
- 44:25Speaker 1: reason would be to be after the money. So that's weird. No,
- 44:30Speaker 1: it's not that I don't care.
- 44:31Speaker 2: If there are bound there was somebody that maybe did
- 44:34Speaker 2: some work there, but what.
- 44:36Speaker 1: Are they at they should be asking for something?
- 44:39Speaker 2: Well, Champion gone long enough. They were probably like, hey,
- 44:41Speaker 2: we're going to kidnap her then do a ransom, and
- 44:43Speaker 2: then two minutes after that kidnapped.
- 44:45Speaker 1: Her to a restaurant.
- 44:48Speaker 2: Everything went sideways and they're like, oh geez.
- 44:51Speaker 1: Maybe they just like picked some random person and then
- 44:53Speaker 1: they were like it's like, oh shit, this is Savannah
- 44:55Speaker 1: Guter's mom. Anyway, all right, it's not funny that she's missing.
- 45:04Speaker 1: It's very sad. Everything that I'm just saying that there's
- 45:06Speaker 1: a lot to take in in the world, and we weren't.
- 45:08Speaker 1: We were not meant to know all of these things
- 45:10Speaker 1: every single day, every terrible thing that happens in them.
- 45:13Speaker 2: No, that's too much.
- 45:14Speaker 1: Yeah, it's all just too much. You know, we were
- 45:16Speaker 1: infiltrated with just the bad all the time.
- 45:20Speaker 2: I can't even imagine what these first responders we're seeing
- 45:22Speaker 2: the actually go and see all that shit go down.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Yeah. Anyways, all right, well, I guess don't forget Patreon,
- 45:29Speaker 1: dot com, slash blusses, mess podcasts, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
- 45:35Speaker 1: And I think that's it. Do do everything else I
- 45:38Speaker 1: did not. All right, well, I guess we will see
- 45:40Speaker 1: you next time. By everyone, say bye Steve By.
- 45:43Speaker 2: Don't you know it's bad to be SUPERSTI shots by
- 45:51Speaker 2: mapping else it's working sick and it is worrying. Bo la.
- 46:03Speaker 2: I can
