A historic Indiana theater, the Strand in Kendallville, has been resurrected by new owner Ruben Sholinyan—once a 19th-century opera house turned 1920s movie palace. After stumbling upon it while house hunting in Michigan, Sholinyan saw a chance to preserve cinematic history. Reopened in April with a flood of volunteer applicants and strong community turnout, the theater now runs 6-7 showings daily.
