- 3:25Speaker 3: Bro.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Y'all don't know when I saw that. I said, Nigga,
- 3:29Speaker 1: like the game is changing before our eyes, and I'm
- 3:33Speaker 1: telling you like y'all are proving like in the same
- 3:37Speaker 1: way stand up comedy wasn't around forever right in the seventies,
- 3:40Speaker 1: people are like, oh, you can actually do this in
- 3:42Speaker 1: as a job, right, you can get a TV show
- 3:44Speaker 1: from this.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Everybody's not a stand up comedian. Everybody's not a skipmaker
- 3:48Speaker 3: on Instagram.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Some people are perfect for podcasting and y'all are perfect.
- 3:53Speaker 1: It's like lex p and Dre for poor minds, like
- 3:56Speaker 1: they don't have to go and try and get on
- 3:57Speaker 1: stage to do something like what you're doing is enough.
- 4:00Speaker 3: And y'all got sports, culture.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Comedy, you like every athlete. Podcast ain't all quit an
- 4:06Speaker 1: equal I don't. I ain't here to throw those shots.
- 4:08Speaker 1: But y'all got the perfect balance of funny stories, culture, jokes,
- 4:13Speaker 1: good hosts like getting shoe deals. I don't even know
- 4:19Speaker 1: that was the thing. Oh yeah, it's just amazing. I
- 4:28Speaker 1: love the fact that the media landscape is changing. Black
- 4:31Speaker 1: people are are at the forefront and we can support
- 4:33Speaker 1: our people and be entertained. Like I love that for us,
- 4:37Speaker 1: and what y'all do open the door for people like me. Like,
- 4:40Speaker 1: even though I've been in podcasting longer, nigga ain't doing.
- 4:43Speaker 3: What y'all doing. Now, I got to go to my
- 4:44Speaker 3: people be like niggas getting I don't know we could
- 4:51Speaker 3: do that. Where is my money? So no, but y'all.
- 4:54Speaker 1: But y'all also deliver it though it ain't just like
- 4:56Speaker 1: y'all were giving something you didn't earn, Like the podcast
- 4:59Speaker 1: delivers weekly and y'all put in a lot of work.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Bro, Like y'all out here doing the work.
- 5:04Speaker 1: You're putting a lot of podcasts, Like y'all, it's a
- 5:06Speaker 1: job for y'all doing a job, and y'all doing a
- 5:09Speaker 1: great job. So I'm happy to be here be blowing
- 5:11Speaker 1: my mind that people know who I am. I was
- 5:13Speaker 1: like when John hit me up, I thought it was
- 5:15Speaker 1: just like oh, I thought he was doing off the
- 5:16Speaker 1: strength of we niggas.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Slap every day and it's hell and relatable to every
- 5:25Speaker 2: part of the world.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 5:27Speaker 2: You understand that, like the stories you share just about
- 5:30Speaker 2: your own world and then bringing it back into everybody else. Man,
- 5:34Speaker 2: that shit is dope. So I love that.
- 5:36Speaker 3: It's proof that you can just be who you are.
- 5:37Speaker 1: You don't have to try to be something you to
- 5:40Speaker 1: get people to like you.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Like, the more you are who you are, the more
- 5:42Speaker 3: people can relate to that.
- 5:44Speaker 1: You know, I'm a square, church going nigga who loves it.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Nigga's okay with that. You want you to try to
- 5:50Speaker 1: be like you try to be a street nigga. You
- 5:52Speaker 1: really not about that line, don't know? Yeah, Like, if
- 5:55Speaker 1: you're a street nigga, street niggas know the street niggas
- 5:58Speaker 1: and they know if you're a church nigga nigga.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Be a church figgas and too. Yeah, niggas grew up
- 6:04Speaker 2: in church.
- 6:06Speaker 3: No church, they granny church.
- 6:07Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying. But like like im cool man,
- 6:09Speaker 2: it's all around sweaking the church. What was your role?
- 6:14Speaker 2: Did you have a role in the church?
- 6:15Speaker 1: Oh man, I had so many roles in the first
- 6:18Speaker 1: role was the drummer, Like okay, right there, you drummer.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Drummer, Oh you had holes there?
- 6:26Speaker 2: Yeah, got got the most home. Oh god, I brought
- 6:33Speaker 2: a new one.
- 6:36Speaker 3: The most home. They see you playing like nigga, probably
- 6:39Speaker 3: beat me up like that. That's how that's how you
- 6:48Speaker 3: That's how you got a girl in church.
- 6:50Speaker 1: The drummer you had going off if you ain't, if
- 6:52Speaker 1: you ain't, you know, everybody could get some, all the musicians,
- 6:55Speaker 1: but the drummer was the nigga, like number one, one
- 6:59Speaker 1: thousand percent.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Yeah. I always told the drummer the choir director is
- 7:02Speaker 2: definitely well.
- 7:04Speaker 3: He played different conferences.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Feel just a little bit different, right, And I hate
- 7:10Speaker 1: that stereotype, but that some of my churches, it was
- 7:12Speaker 1: absolutely true.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I'm so sorry for a reason.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Honestly, if I'm gonna be your church in the choir
- 7:19Speaker 3: director ain't like that, I'm a question.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Yeah, because y'all ain't even playing at the top of
- 7:26Speaker 1: your skill, y'all, not scouting, you mean people in the
- 7:29Speaker 1: right positions, Like you need the choir director, right, you
- 7:34Speaker 1: heard me.
- 7:34Speaker 3: You don't mean the director of the un We going to
- 7:36Speaker 3: be terrible.
- 7:37Speaker 2: For sure. The choir director was the first TikTok dann.
- 7:39Speaker 2: So I tell people that all.
- 7:43Speaker 1: But like the drummer was like, that was the star player.
- 7:47Speaker 1: And I was never even a great drummer, but I like,
- 7:48Speaker 1: I got on the drums. But that was my first goal.
- 7:51Speaker 1: My first desire for the limelight was like, I gotta
- 7:54Speaker 1: get on drums.
- 7:54Speaker 2: That was the first manly thing to me in the
- 7:56Speaker 2: church for sure. So my family always told me it
- 7:59Speaker 2: was a drummer base key.
- 8:00Speaker 1: And my uncle play the bass. I was like, you know,
- 8:04Speaker 1: the drums was there. The organ is probably the most
- 8:07Speaker 1: the hardest sinier to play. Players are very very Yeah,
- 8:11Speaker 1: you playing with both hands, and you running the base
- 8:13Speaker 1: with your left foot like and you controlling the power
- 8:15Speaker 1: with your right like that's really but yeah, that was
- 8:18Speaker 1: my first thing in life was play the drums, saying
- 8:21Speaker 1: the choir because we all had to. Eventually was an
- 8:24Speaker 1: ordained minister and NI the pastor for four three four years,
- 8:29Speaker 1: I was both learning to do stand up comedy and
- 8:32Speaker 1: a youth pastor.
- 8:33Speaker 3: At the same time.
- 8:34Speaker 1: So people come to my shows on Thursday like this
- 8:37Speaker 1: nigga is breaching on and they would come to my
- 8:40Speaker 1: church like people from the club would come to my
- 8:42Speaker 1: church on Sunday. And then I see church people in
- 8:44Speaker 1: the club like, don't tell my pastor I'm in here.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Like I'm in here. What I'm gonna say? And you
- 8:50Speaker 1: know what, one thing that I always respected and appreciate
- 8:52Speaker 1: about you is that you hear so many different graphics
- 8:55Speaker 1: of people, but it's you being yourself right because so
- 8:58Speaker 1: many people as multi fasted, everybody trying to act you.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Yeah, parton.
- 9:02Speaker 1: You do a lot of different things for you to
- 9:03Speaker 1: do concept not even kind of the way. You just
- 9:05Speaker 1: live to affect so many people in different ways, like
- 9:07Speaker 1: different age records.
- 9:08Speaker 3: I always thought that was far. Yeah.
- 9:09Speaker 1: I just really talk out loud about whatever I'm into. Yeah,
- 9:12Speaker 1: like if I'm into Like when my son got into soccer,
- 9:15Speaker 1: I was like, let me learn everything I can about soccer.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Then I got into the black people who went into soccer.
- 9:19Speaker 1: You know, I used to play basketball, so you know
- 9:22Speaker 1: I love sports. I love all sports. I'm always talking
- 9:24Speaker 1: about you know, sports. Uh got into the w NBA
- 9:28Speaker 1: because I felt like, man, I'm missing out, you know
- 9:30Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Like, then I got into that, Then
- 9:32Speaker 1: I get into WNBA. I get into anime because of Tyler. Uh,
- 9:36Speaker 1: my boy, Tyler, my boy. I want him to beat
- 9:39Speaker 1: my boy. But he was talking about Yeah, Tyler, you know,
- 9:42Speaker 1: I didn't want to overdo our friendship, you know what
- 9:44Speaker 1: I'm saying. Jones, Yeah, by Joe, that's cool, but he
- 9:48Speaker 1: was like yo, he was just on Twitter like Yo,
- 9:49Speaker 1: this show Blue Eye Samurai is legit and I'm not
- 9:51Speaker 1: even an anime type dude, So I'm like, oh, he wouldn't,
- 9:54Speaker 1: you know, Like, let me check this out.
- 9:55Speaker 3: So I watched that.
- 9:56Speaker 1: I enjoy that, and then black People was like, oh
- 9:58Speaker 1: if you like that, watch this and next thing, you know,
- 10:01Speaker 1: I'm an anime nigga now like and it's legit, you know.
- 10:04Speaker 3: But I don't ever talk about something I'm not really on.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Like I only talk about stuff I'm excited about, and
- 10:10Speaker 1: I never try to overdo my stuff. But I never
- 10:13Speaker 1: try to like be into something just so I could
- 10:15Speaker 1: be in that community or whatever, like it ain't it.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Ain't like that. I usually just talk about what I'm
- 10:18Speaker 3: interested in.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Uh, but I'm interested in a lot of things, which,
- 10:22Speaker 1: like you said, a lot of people are you know
- 10:24Speaker 1: what I'm saying. A lot of street niggas watch anime
- 10:26Speaker 1: like I pulled aside by some rappers like Nigga ain't
- 10:28Speaker 1: even know you was on that Nigga ju And I'm.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Like, Nigga guilt three niggas.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Like yeah, Nigga, but I well, I won't say that
- 10:39Speaker 3: because on the east side of that sorry city is bad.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Shout out. But Mike, I said, I'm I'm puking my cards.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Apparently niggas get hold too as well, and real niggas
- 10:48Speaker 1: into wrestling like you know that niggas really like well, yeah,
- 10:55Speaker 1: so I'm I just do whatever I'm I'm into.
- 10:58Speaker 3: I'm into it loud.
- 10:59Speaker 1: You know what funny about that last year we met
- 11:02Speaker 1: you at Wrestleman. We was just like, I don't know
- 11:04Speaker 1: if you know who he is, but we met you
- 11:05Speaker 1: back stage Joint Wrestling last year, you know, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeahyeah.
- 11:12Speaker 1: It was like, hey, we don't know if you know.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Its all an, it's good next year for you to
- 11:16Speaker 1: be on the show. It's crazy, like we didn't even
- 11:18Speaker 1: know if he was aware of us. I for sure
- 11:21Speaker 1: I don't think I placed it, Like I remember the
- 11:23Speaker 1: moment right now, and I'm like, I know I know
- 11:25Speaker 1: a lot of people, but I can't always tell where
- 11:27Speaker 1: I know them from, you know what I'm saying. But
- 11:29Speaker 1: I for sure been a fan of the podcast, Like
- 11:32Speaker 1: I try to keep up on everything black entertainment, you know,
- 11:35Speaker 1: and y'all's podcast is one of the stories of like
- 11:39Speaker 1: people think you can't make it still, like like they
- 11:42Speaker 1: think podcasting is over saturated. I'm like y'all's podcast is
- 11:45Speaker 1: another example of if you have the right things you
- 11:49Speaker 1: can you can cut through. You can break through, you
- 11:51Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, And you have the right chemistry
- 11:53Speaker 1: and the Deontay Kyle's another example, Like he was riding,
- 11:57Speaker 1: like driving trucks for a living last summer, Like last
- 12:01Speaker 1: summer that Nicholas dropping off loads, hooking it up and
- 12:04Speaker 1: on the road. Now he's a full time podcaster, you
- 12:07Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. So you have the talent and
- 12:08Speaker 1: skilled ability, you're gonna cut through. So like this is
- 12:11Speaker 1: just like a dream come true. When John hit me,
- 12:13Speaker 1: I was like, I gotta go now. I gotta home
- 12:16Speaker 1: to be on top with my kids because my wife
- 12:19Speaker 1: is like, all right, like.
- 12:21Speaker 3: What we say though, you know, how did you get.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Into the business, Uh to with podcasting.
- 12:27Speaker 1: So I got into podcasting low key because my wife
- 12:30Speaker 1: not even being funny. The first podcast I ever did
- 12:32Speaker 1: was called the Love Our Podcast. My wife was always
- 12:34Speaker 1: into relationships. Way back into Cooma, we had uh we
- 12:38Speaker 1: did like a live thing called the Love Hour Live
- 12:40Speaker 1: and it was like a we would just like talk
- 12:43Speaker 1: about relationships at this a barbecue restaurant called Uncle Thurm's.
- 12:47Speaker 1: People paid like five Actually I don't think we charged at
- 12:49Speaker 1: that time. It was like, yo, pull up on Thursday,
- 12:50Speaker 1: We're gona talk about loveing relationships.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Uh.
- 12:53Speaker 1: So we did that live for a few times. And
- 12:55Speaker 1: then my wife actually the one who put me onto podcasting.
- 12:58Speaker 1: She was on the Read way Back Read the Reading
- 13:03Speaker 1: Brilliant Idiots were the first two podcasts that she told
- 13:05Speaker 1: me about.
- 13:06Speaker 3: I didn't know.
- 13:07Speaker 1: I got hurt of the idea, but I didn't like
- 13:09Speaker 1: tap into any of the yeah og og loud Speaker network.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Then when I worked at All Death, I got put
- 13:15Speaker 1: on the Combat Jack That was like those were the
- 13:17Speaker 1: big three podcast Rest of Peace uh combat Jack.
- 13:21Speaker 3: Uh So we was at that time.
- 13:22Speaker 1: We would record our podcasts no video on our iPhone
- 13:25Speaker 1: voice note, like in our bedroom, just like holding it,
- 13:27Speaker 1: talking about loving relationships. And then we did that podcast
- 13:30Speaker 1: for like six seven years, maybe longer. We ended up
- 13:34Speaker 1: writing the book Marriage Be Hard New York Times bestseller.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Shout out to me and her. You know what I'm saying.
- 13:41Speaker 1: I got to say it, yeah, because it's hard. Everybody
- 13:43Speaker 1: don't do it. So everybody, I got to my two
- 13:46Speaker 1: you feel but yeah, part of my left that's my bad.
- 13:51Speaker 3: Okay, I feel.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Too the double t let me you let me slide that.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Part.
- 14:07Speaker 1: But but then I got into comedy podcasting. Uh, I
- 14:11Speaker 1: could do a podcast called Here's the Thing with my
- 14:13Speaker 1: homegirl Angel brilliant, brilliant, brilliant comedic mind. I really let
- 14:17Speaker 1: her do her thing like on that show. I'm her
- 14:20Speaker 1: rebound outline pass like she is the first option on
- 14:24Speaker 1: that podcast, Like I thought it was my podcast. And
- 14:26Speaker 1: I just realized over the last few months, I'm really
- 14:28Speaker 1: wade you brown here, and that's cool. I don't don't
- 14:33Speaker 1: have to carry the load on a lot of things.
- 14:34Speaker 1: I don't have to carry it on everything. So for
- 14:37Speaker 1: that podcast. She is the comedic relief. You know, we
- 14:39Speaker 1: have good chemistry. Joshi on there too, and me and
- 14:42Speaker 1: Tony do a podcast called The Bob Brothers. We're probably
- 14:45Speaker 1: even me and him on there talking about movies podcast,
- 14:47Speaker 1: I mean, movies, sports, a lot of ranking stuff. We
- 14:50Speaker 1: just be excused to hang out and then I do
- 14:53Speaker 1: h not my best moment on iHeart with Steph Curry's
- 14:57Speaker 1: company Unanitis Media. Uh, that's where I talked to artists, athletes,
- 15:00Speaker 1: entertainers about mistakes they made. You know what I'm saying.
- 15:03Speaker 1: That's like my professional podcast. So yeah, those are the
- 15:06Speaker 1: four that I do.
- 15:08Speaker 3: Let's sit on your turn you know what it does.
- 15:12Speaker 1: But man, I used to hate my job, and anything
- 15:17Speaker 1: that prevents me from having to go back to that
- 15:19Speaker 1: cubicle at Boeing is like, I will do it because
- 15:22Speaker 1: I remember looking at that clock and be like, I
- 15:24Speaker 1: know an hour past, I know it, and it's eight
- 15:26Speaker 1: oh three and I looked at eight and I'm like,
- 15:29Speaker 1: oh my God, like how am I gonna make it till?
- 15:31Speaker 1: And I got off work at two o'clock. I started
- 15:33Speaker 1: my shift. I was in my desk at four forty five,
- 15:37Speaker 1: in my desk. Who bruh, I'm in there and I
- 15:40Speaker 1: don't seen the end of YouTube.
- 15:44Speaker 3: I'm watching paid in full at work just like bro.
- 15:48Speaker 3: I can't. I can't. I can't even be bored.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Enough like they was let me do anything, and there
- 15:53Speaker 1: was still boring, you know what I'm saying. So it
- 15:57Speaker 1: do be tiring. I just did it just my podcast
- 16:00Speaker 1: John hear Me. I was like, I bet like, if
- 16:02Speaker 1: I can make this work dream come true immediately, I'm
- 16:04Speaker 1: gonna go to immediately WrestleMania after this be a father
- 16:08Speaker 1: for four hours. But it is tiring, but it's it's
- 16:11Speaker 1: infinitely better than being in that cubicle. Anything that prevents
- 16:14Speaker 1: me to have to go back to that job and
- 16:15Speaker 1: have to ask somebody for time off when I know
- 16:18Speaker 1: I'm already going like.
- 16:20Speaker 2: What year is?
- 16:20Speaker 3: You know?
- 16:22Speaker 1: You way or an you're gonna write me up, I'm
- 16:26Speaker 1: taking bto or I'm not getting paid.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Absolutely, and if you wi somebody in my family, my rent, let.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Me just you know what I'm like, it's my fourth
- 16:36Speaker 2: fake faith Google who died a week ago?
- 16:41Speaker 3: You were doing research?
- 16:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I did the research week because you know everybody
- 16:46Speaker 2: fune is always what week.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Following, So always.
- 16:51Speaker 2: I had a girl who made what's the name a
- 16:54Speaker 2: bit you words. She was just put this lady face
- 16:57Speaker 2: on her. This is the day she died to so
- 17:00Speaker 2: the national article. Yeah, it was so bad. It was
- 17:03Speaker 2: so bad. If the motherfucker I worked for it. They
- 17:06Speaker 2: used to send flowers to my mama house. Mamma was
- 17:08Speaker 2: read the flyer. I'm like, girl, just shouldn't have just
- 17:10Speaker 2: taken with the missions so weird. You're gonna get some
- 17:12Speaker 2: water a couple of weeks. Man, I got a slide
- 17:22Speaker 2: for the top.
- 17:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I just got fired so many times I worked
- 17:27Speaker 3: at the bank. Man.
- 17:28Speaker 1: I remember I had a I would I got a
- 17:30Speaker 1: chance to do a show in Miami, and I'm like,
- 17:31Speaker 1: I got no PTO.
- 17:32Speaker 3: I'm like, I gotta go.
- 17:34Speaker 1: I call my manager from the airport in the airport
- 17:37Speaker 1: like I'm sick, like bacant. She's like, here's now boarding
- 17:41Speaker 1: were like, She's like CAREV. I was like, man, I'm sorry.
- 17:45Speaker 3: I gotta show. I'm sorry, man, I had to do it.
- 17:51Speaker 2: What year did you start working?
- 17:52Speaker 1: Though, so officially my last year working was twenty nineteen.
- 17:58Speaker 3: I believe soody.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I worked at All Deaf and that first tour when
- 18:03Speaker 1: I first did my first independent tour. I worked Monday
- 18:06Speaker 1: through Thursday at my job, flew Thursday night to whatever
- 18:10Speaker 1: city we had a show in. On Friday, worked remote
- 18:13Speaker 1: all day, slack email doing notes. Saturday morning, flew or
- 18:19Speaker 1: drove to the next city, did a show that night.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Sunday morning, flu drove to the next city, did a
- 18:24Speaker 1: show Sunday night. Then Monday morning I would fly back
- 18:27Speaker 1: to LA and go straight from Lax to work. So
- 18:31Speaker 1: I worked basically for ten months straight, every single day.
- 18:35Speaker 1: So cause I was like, if this tour don't work,
- 18:38Speaker 1: I gotta you know, I gotta pay these comedians. I
- 18:41Speaker 1: gotta I don't have no health insurance all that stuff.
- 18:43Speaker 1: So after that first year, my wife was like, bro,
- 18:46Speaker 1: you can't, you can't. You can't do that to yourself again,
- 18:49Speaker 1: because I was willing to do it again. And it
- 18:51Speaker 1: was like eighty We did like eighty shows, like we was,
- 18:54Speaker 1: we was, Yeah, we was, we was on oh man,
- 18:57Speaker 1: we was Chattanooga, Buffalo, like cities. I didn't even do
- 19:01Speaker 1: well in Albuquerque, it's like fifteen people. It's like, we
- 19:05Speaker 1: didn't even do this. Man, y'all all could have met
- 19:08Speaker 1: up at the next city. Specifically, need to come to Albuquerque,
- 19:12Speaker 1: but it was enough people coming that it made sense.
- 19:14Speaker 1: But after that, so twenty nineteen is when I went
- 19:16Speaker 1: full time touring, and at the same time, I was
- 19:19Speaker 1: doing a podcast at that time as well. So yeah,
- 19:22Speaker 1: I was twenty nineteen, I went full time, and then
- 19:25Speaker 1: twenty twenty I was about to go on the road again,
- 19:27Speaker 1: and then it was.
- 19:27Speaker 3: A pandemic right on the top of that. So I
- 19:29Speaker 3: was real tripping.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Man, that's an inspiring for you said it because a
- 19:33Speaker 1: lot of people think that, you know what I'm saying.
- 19:34Speaker 3: Once they quote unquote make it there, Okay, I'm done
- 19:36Speaker 3: with all this stuff.
- 19:36Speaker 1: It's like, oh, just because things going, you have to
- 19:39Speaker 1: keep doing what you did to get to them.
- 19:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:41Speaker 1: I tell people you really shouldn't quit your job until
- 19:43Speaker 1: it's impossible to maintain both. And really, you give your
- 19:48Speaker 1: business a better chance to succeed if you don't rely
- 19:51Speaker 1: on it for all your income immediately.
- 19:53Speaker 3: Like a lot of time, we just.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Really want to do that, but like most young businesses,
- 19:57Speaker 1: they don't have enough income to be solely your job
- 20:02Speaker 1: like that, especially in the entertainment, you got to build
- 20:04Speaker 1: that up. Today's show is brought to you by our

- 21:17Speaker 1: My reset gambling problem called one Day hundred Gambler in Arizona, Colorado, Illinois, Michigan,
- 21:22Speaker 1: New Jersey, Tennessee, and Virginia. So I was doing podcasting,
- 21:27Speaker 1: I was doing live shows, I was doing touring, you know,
- 21:29Speaker 1: selling merch doing all that stuff, and it was like
- 21:32Speaker 1: combination of all that.
- 21:33Speaker 3: I was like, okay, I could, Like I couldn't.
- 21:35Speaker 1: I've made enough that if I don't work my regular job,
- 21:37Speaker 1: I actually work at my regular job, previns me from
- 21:39Speaker 1: being as successful as I could, because at this point,
- 21:43Speaker 1: shows is more money than I could make at all death.
- 21:46Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, Like these I could make
- 21:48Speaker 1: that in like three weekends, and then I could be
- 21:50Speaker 1: out for you know, forty week I was doing like
- 21:53Speaker 1: forty weekends of shows at that time, so and then
- 21:56Speaker 1: it was just like it was too hard on my
- 21:58Speaker 1: body to like then go sit up at a job.
- 22:00Speaker 2: You know, could have stretched during COVID though, kid, Yeah,
- 22:03Speaker 2: we could have. So you were supposed to get the
- 22:05Speaker 2: fake test seven days off care. That's a free seven man.
- 22:09Speaker 2: You an't even us the PTO or nothing. Fourteen So
- 22:13Speaker 2: fourteen days, oh yeah, I had fourteen. I did it
- 22:16Speaker 2: six times, so we really dimmed becausins because my last
- 22:20Speaker 2: year worker was twenty twenty. But I stretched it out
- 22:23Speaker 2: and then when COVID was done, when motherfuckers was here,
- 22:25Speaker 2: I just used the rest of my PTO and ship.
- 22:27Speaker 2: So twenty twenty was a blessing year for me. I
- 22:30Speaker 2: worked for this couple named Epsen. They we used to
- 22:33Speaker 2: build projectors and company. Yeah we should build projectors and
- 22:37Speaker 2: just you know, no projectors together.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Wow, that's like all that was in you when you
- 22:45Speaker 3: was building Prince.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Yep I had a I did that. I worked at
- 22:48Speaker 2: the post office and I had a catering company all
- 22:50Speaker 2: at the same time.
- 22:51Speaker 3: So you're definitely trapping.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I did. I did all that in twenty twenty.
- 22:55Speaker 2: But that once, once that COVID came, I mean, God
- 22:58Speaker 2: blessed everybody who lost their life. That was a blessing
- 23:00Speaker 2: to me because I survived, and that the paychecks. Kiff,
- 23:05Speaker 2: you laugh. You knew he was gonna say that, you
- 23:10Speaker 2: still like you.
- 23:13Speaker 3: I heard that coming out.
- 23:14Speaker 1: He was like, yeah, because it's how I feel like
- 23:17Speaker 1: this alone with scariest that might have been the mounted
- 23:20Speaker 1: person he was thinking. It's said, God bless everybody we got.
- 23:24Speaker 1: I guess so he would have said what he really.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Wanted to know for sure, for sure, But yeah, I
- 23:28Speaker 2: wish I had all the hold on.
- 23:31Speaker 1: You got fourteen Now be here, chef up for real,
- 23:37Speaker 1: my boy, get wicked in the kitchen. Now while you're here, Kiv,
- 23:40Speaker 1: you have some radical food tastes. Be here, our resident
- 23:42Speaker 1: food expert. It's only right we had this conversation.
- 23:44Speaker 3: For sure.
- 23:45Speaker 1: I got jumped right recently because I told these people
- 23:47Speaker 1: that pumpkin pop was better than superseded pop.
- 23:50Speaker 3: There's one gentleman I know who appreciates his take. It's you.
- 23:52Speaker 3: Please let these people know what they missing out on.
- 23:54Speaker 1: That. So here's the thing I don't I don't actually
- 23:57Speaker 1: word it that way okay, but I prefer pumpkin pie
- 24:00Speaker 1: over sweet potato pie. And my thing is, I tell
- 24:05Speaker 1: Black people all the time, because I'm with you, pumpkin
- 24:08Speaker 1: pie sweet potato poie ain't really that different. We just
- 24:10Speaker 1: put way more sugar in sweet potato pie than it
- 24:12Speaker 1: is pumpkin pie. Pumpkin pie is just a little, bland,
- 24:15Speaker 1: little dessert, you know what I'm saying. It's like banana bread.
- 24:17Speaker 1: It don't bother nobody. It ain't over there trying to
- 24:19Speaker 1: be something that's not. It's like, hey, bro, I'm cool.
- 24:22Speaker 1: You want to sweep taip pie, you can go get that.
- 24:25Speaker 1: Black people be like, nigga, you ain't. You don't like Obama, ain't.
- 24:30Speaker 3: Left there. But yeah, I prefer pumpkin pie because I
- 24:34Speaker 3: grew up on that.
- 24:34Speaker 1: My mom was not a baker, so she would always
- 24:36Speaker 1: buy pumpkin pies and just sit them on the on
- 24:38Speaker 1: the table during the fall season, so basically anytime through
- 24:42Speaker 1: September through through you know, Christmas, we always have punkin pie.
- 24:46Speaker 3: So I would eat sweetpotato pie, but it ain't like
- 24:48Speaker 3: something I crave.
- 24:49Speaker 1: So now around the fall time, I'm like, oh, niggas
- 24:51Speaker 1: pumpkin pie season and pumpkin spice lattes. I'd be in
- 24:54Speaker 1: Starbucks buy pumpkin spice shy. I'm a white girls crazy,
- 25:02Speaker 1: I'm fucking out like bro, I'd be getting pumping. And
- 25:07Speaker 1: the thing is Black people like all the other pumpky
- 25:09Speaker 1: stuff with that pumpkin pie. They'd be last words that
- 25:11Speaker 1: the week. It's the weakest thish kids.
- 25:14Speaker 2: It is.
- 25:16Speaker 3: Like I'm not here to defend.
- 25:19Speaker 2: You need some ice cream or something. Trying to pat
- 25:22Speaker 2: some ice cream or something. No whipped cream, just great
- 25:25Speaker 2: punk pie, No, no whip cream.
- 25:28Speaker 3: But like it's like pound cake.
- 25:30Speaker 1: People only get mad at the pumpkin pie chake. Like
- 25:32Speaker 1: if I said I like poundcake, nobody would care. But
- 25:35Speaker 1: it ain't really that different.
- 25:36Speaker 2: But you can't if you eat. If you eat poundcake
- 25:39Speaker 2: butt naked, that's crazy. You gotta put strawberries, then you
- 25:43Speaker 2: put the damn I do use that for respect. That
- 25:53Speaker 2: straw cake. You need that with cream and that strawberries.
- 25:59Speaker 2: That said crazy.
- 26:01Speaker 1: I don't have to have a decade in dessert. It
- 26:03Speaker 1: ain't got to get crazy for me. You ain't got
- 26:06Speaker 1: to dress whatever, make it real for me, slade, I
- 26:09Speaker 1: don't need all that extra man like I'm I'm cool
- 26:12Speaker 1: with semi sweet dessert.
- 26:14Speaker 2: The shortcake is damn near.
- 26:16Speaker 3: I don't do that.
- 26:18Speaker 2: It's good. I was about to say, no, it's damn near,
- 26:21Speaker 2: like it's bread. Basically, you gotta let me do it's sweet,
- 26:33Speaker 2: but it's it's sweet. But it's just pointless, bro, It's
- 26:36Speaker 2: just pointless. It's pointless, pointless because it's just I don't know,
- 26:40Speaker 2: it's it's not really a dessert, bro. It's just too
- 26:43Speaker 2: sweet to make a sandwich. But it's just I don't know,
- 26:47Speaker 2: it's just a useless sweet of dessert.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Bro.
- 26:49Speaker 2: I'm sorry, yead, we're gonna blank that out before you got.
- 26:57Speaker 3: All right with short cake?
- 26:58Speaker 2: Bro?
- 26:59Speaker 3: So you sure, but never had it? Not apple crumbal nothing, nothing.
- 27:06Speaker 2: It's cool.
- 27:10Speaker 3: Apple pie, big white American deserve.
- 27:13Speaker 1: That's like big maga, that's the big Eagles, guns, NASCAR,
- 27:17Speaker 1: apple racism.
- 27:19Speaker 2: No, that's true.
- 27:20Speaker 3: That go with the stuff like we don't be.
- 27:23Speaker 1: On apple pie, Like I don't have to be like
- 27:25Speaker 1: where's the apple pie? Like that's not a thing in
- 27:28Speaker 1: the blackmun We eat it, but it ain't like you
- 27:30Speaker 1: got to have how much to make them nigga pile.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Since you can read y'all, told me apple Pile was fired.
- 27:42Speaker 3: Though I love it.
- 27:44Speaker 2: I love respect. I love apple Pie though McDonald's Apple's
- 27:52Speaker 2: totally different.
- 27:54Speaker 1: Smoke every moment better than like yeah, especially the back
- 28:00Speaker 1: in the nineties when it was the crispy like the.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Fried one like in the red pan. Yeah, when the
- 28:05Speaker 2: box was raised, that.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Was they that was the prime. I like the baked ones,
- 28:09Speaker 1: but the hot fried one was like that was the
- 28:13Speaker 1: best version of that.
- 28:15Speaker 2: President, Are you cooking? Nope, you don't get it.
- 28:19Speaker 3: I don't do nothing. I really like.
- 28:22Speaker 1: I don't even grill for real. I'm okay. I do burgers.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Dogs made me chicken. But like, if I don't be
- 28:28Speaker 1: amazing that stuff, I don't do it at all. I'd
- 28:30Speaker 1: be like, man, I just this is dumb. If I
- 28:33Speaker 1: can't make a soup fle and smoke ribs, then I don't.
- 28:36Speaker 1: I'd rather just order it. Like I'm just not. I
- 28:39Speaker 1: respect it though, like my homie CP, that nigga really
- 28:43Speaker 1: be out here smoking ribs, spice bro niggas got like
- 28:46Speaker 1: the the smoker the.

- 30:55Speaker 3: but yeah, it's it's laziness too, Like, oh my laceness
- 30:58Speaker 3: is crazy. I'll drop. That's the place I do that
- 31:01Speaker 3: thousand percent at the red light. Oh yeah, that sounds fire.
- 31:08Speaker 2: I do that.
- 31:09Speaker 1: I do that with five guys that looked good by
- 31:12Speaker 1: that fire. That's at least one hundred The rip boy,
- 31:14Speaker 1: you know, ain't tripping.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Run it up.
- 31:18Speaker 3: You gotta do it. It was in your wheelhouse. This
- 31:20Speaker 3: made a follow for me. This ain't no flex. This
- 31:23Speaker 3: is just the truth. I had a chef for a
- 31:25Speaker 3: little bit and I was like, nah, do dash is good? Cool?
- 31:35Speaker 3: Why actually after your.
- 31:38Speaker 2: Phone you speak on how you let him go At
- 31:43Speaker 2: durnk COVID, it was he took off fourteen days.
- 31:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I can't really eat. I can't make it make sick.
- 31:51Speaker 2: We don't really eat.
- 31:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:54Speaker 1: Sometimes you would make stuff and my my son, you
- 31:56Speaker 1: made this thing and then my kids eating something else.
- 31:59Speaker 1: I'm like, now we can't have that, Like it's too expensive.
- 32:02Speaker 1: Everybody ain't eating it for every meal. It's gotta go now,
- 32:07Speaker 1: that's crazy. If we have a shift we need. Yeah,
- 32:10Speaker 1: but my youngest son super picky, like he is like this,
- 32:15Speaker 1: Nigga will eat yogurt every day, three times a day.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Like he don't like nothing, like he's on that like
- 32:24Speaker 1: so it's like he don't want to eat nothing special,
- 32:26Speaker 1: nothing different, only what my wife makes all that stuff.
- 32:30Speaker 1: So I'm like this, this don't make sense. And she
- 32:32Speaker 1: was asking us what you are for dinner. I was like, nigga, weeks, what.
- 32:39Speaker 3: Want?
- 32:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm paying you like the thing for you. That's crazy.
- 32:53Speaker 1: And it was just like I did a little too
- 32:55Speaker 1: much with my life like I was like this nigga
- 32:57Speaker 1: out here, and I was like, I'm not here like that,
- 32:58Speaker 1: Like I ain't no athlete where I need nutrition.
- 33:01Speaker 3: Like I'm over here, you're making fresh stoves. I'm making
- 33:03Speaker 3: terrible choices, like you hurting me.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Yeah, So I wanted to ask you, man, what is
- 33:09Speaker 2: like the hardest part about torn Man?
- 33:12Speaker 1: The hardest part really is that it takes so much
- 33:15Speaker 1: work and time to do something for forty five minutes,
- 33:19Speaker 1: and especially living in LA. Like if I live in
- 33:22Speaker 1: Atlanta would be infinitely easier because you can get from
- 33:24Speaker 1: Atlanta to almost anywhere in that same day flight. But
- 33:27Speaker 1: from LA it's already more expensive because either you I
- 33:32Speaker 1: gotta show in Atlanta on Friday night, I can't leave
- 33:34Speaker 1: Friday morning and get there safely and enough time to perform.
- 33:38Speaker 1: So I us just got to go red eye Thursday night.
- 33:40Speaker 1: And then to make sure I get into the room,
- 33:43Speaker 1: I have to buy the room for the night before,
- 33:46Speaker 1: you know, so you know, cause they'll give your room
- 33:48Speaker 1: away or you're stuck in the lobby waiting, which if
- 33:50Speaker 1: you ain't got nothing to do, that's okay, But if
- 33:52Speaker 1: you got to show that night, you're sitting in the
- 33:53Speaker 1: lobby till three o'clock, four o'clock, depending on what checking
- 33:56Speaker 1: time is. That's just messing up my whole vibe. So
- 34:00Speaker 1: the travel is easily the hardest part. Being away from
- 34:03Speaker 1: your family is hard as well, but the travel is easily.
- 34:06Speaker 1: And then also it's hard to sell tickets, Like to
- 34:09Speaker 1: consistently sell tickets, you gotta everything else is part of it,
- 34:12Speaker 1: like videos, podcasts, you gotta say people's feeds.
- 34:15Speaker 3: So I'm always kind of feeding.
- 34:17Speaker 1: That's why I never stopped making these videos because I
- 34:19Speaker 1: always want to remind you, like, oh keV, that was funny,
- 34:21Speaker 1: Oh keV. So that when I'm I'm not always like
- 34:24Speaker 1: trying to promote my ticket sales every single time you
- 34:26Speaker 1: see me. But when I do promote, you're like, oh,
- 34:28Speaker 1: I'll go check them out.
- 34:29Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 34:29Speaker 1: But you you really got to be funny every day
- 34:32Speaker 1: to be able to tour, you know, thirty times, you know,
- 34:35Speaker 1: or perform thirty forty times a week I'm sorry, a year.
- 34:39Speaker 1: So yeah, that's easily the hardest part is selling tickets, promoting,
- 34:43Speaker 1: and the travel.
- 34:44Speaker 2: That's how you work on your game, though, like online
- 34:46Speaker 2: every day.
- 34:48Speaker 1: It's easy to get like I've done so many jokes
- 34:52Speaker 1: online one to see if it works too, to stamp it.
- 34:56Speaker 1: You can't steal it because like Dan Kev's the first
- 34:58Speaker 1: person to sell that. Times when I'm going to build
- 35:00Speaker 1: a new hour, I'll just go through my feed and
- 35:02Speaker 1: be like, what have I not talked about? Can this
- 35:04Speaker 1: be a joke that works on stage? Because everything online
- 35:07Speaker 1: don't work for the stage, but some stuff actually can
- 35:10Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying? So, but yes, it's it's
- 35:14Speaker 1: essentially like getting shot up. I gotta be out there
- 35:16Speaker 1: trying to be funny, trying to be fresh because stand
- 35:18Speaker 1: up comedy, if you don't do it consistently, you will
- 35:21Speaker 1: you'll lose it, like you won't be funn That's why
- 35:24Speaker 1: Eddie Murphy was like, I've been away from it too long.
- 35:26Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm funny like that anymore, but
- 35:28Speaker 1: I think people will still laugh. So I really can't
- 35:30Speaker 1: risk that. But yeah, that that online works, and and
- 35:35Speaker 1: staying fresh with me and Tony do the Bob Brothers too,
- 35:37Speaker 1: that even though that's not traditional stand up, it's I
- 35:40Speaker 1: know it allows me to stay fresh, you know at
- 35:43Speaker 1: the skill.
- 35:44Speaker 3: What I want to ask is obviously your talented writer
- 35:46Speaker 3: and credit as well.
- 35:47Speaker 1: One thing I wanted to say is was it harder
- 35:49Speaker 1: for you to perform some of the stuff that when
- 35:52Speaker 1: I say perform, is it hard to translate the stuff
- 35:54Speaker 1: to the jokes that you're making into writing for other
- 35:56Speaker 1: people to act on other people to perform instead of
- 35:59Speaker 1: how you would do it. You know, what I like
- 36:02Speaker 1: to do is really so far, I've been able to
- 36:06Speaker 1: really play to people's skill set. So when we did
- 36:09Speaker 1: the Airport or safe Space recently we did the Airport.
- 36:12Speaker 1: The people that I hire, I'm a fan of them.
- 36:15Speaker 1: So when we're writing stuff, I'm writing stuff where I
- 36:18Speaker 1: know you can get off, Like when we hire CP
- 36:20Speaker 1: for example, he's a premier roaster, so we put him
- 36:23Speaker 1: in spots where he can do what he does well.
- 36:26Speaker 3: He's also a brilliant actor. He can do anything.
- 36:28Speaker 1: But I know he's gonna shine at this Mecca who's
- 36:31Speaker 1: a TikToker. She's a brilliant yapper. So the things we
- 36:34Speaker 1: have for in the airport is like, let's play to
- 36:35Speaker 1: your yapping ability. And then the people like Angel who
- 36:38Speaker 1: can do anything, or Spice Adams is really physical, like
- 36:41Speaker 1: he's a physical comedian, So we wrote a sketch for
- 36:44Speaker 1: him like, Okay, we don't even have to tell him
- 36:46Speaker 1: to do that. He just naturally will be like, I'm
- 36:49Speaker 1: gonna go farther than you ever expected me to go.
- 36:51Speaker 1: So to hear has a very mischievous deviousness to him,
- 36:58Speaker 1: like he always looked like he either find the committed
- 37:01Speaker 1: crime or plotting on you, like she looked like hes
- 37:04Speaker 1: just looking for an angle, like I ain't gonna rob
- 37:06Speaker 1: you straight up, but your pocket will be a little light.
- 37:09Speaker 3: So and he also will take it too far. So
- 37:11Speaker 3: you just put them in positions to win.
- 37:13Speaker 1: And probably my best ability is I I was a
- 37:18Speaker 1: mediocre basketball player, but I really wanted to win. So
- 37:22Speaker 1: that means I need to do what I do well
- 37:24Speaker 1: and let the other niggas do what they do well.
- 37:26Speaker 1: So I think being not good at sports but really
- 37:30Speaker 1: wanted to win prepare me for this part or lot,
- 37:33Speaker 1: because I remember I always tell this joke that I
- 37:35Speaker 1: play four years with JV, but it was really only three.
- 37:38Speaker 3: But and I know three is bad enough. That's crazy, right,
- 37:41Speaker 3: But my coach came to me.
- 37:42Speaker 1: So in eleventh grade Lakes High School, my coach came
- 37:45Speaker 1: to me, Reggie Williams was on our team. Regi Williams
- 37:47Speaker 1: was the ninth pick in the NFL Draft of the year.
- 37:50Speaker 1: He came out, he went to you dub. We went
- 37:52Speaker 1: into high school and college together. My coach came to mean,
- 37:54Speaker 1: he's like he not coming out the game. Y'all play
- 38:00Speaker 1: the same position. He's six five, two thirty five, runs
- 38:03Speaker 1: a four six four five forty All American Football Track basketball.
- 38:10Speaker 1: I'm five ten. I can't dunk, I can't dribble that well.
- 38:16Speaker 1: I'm just a utility player. I'm rebound. I'm still charge.
- 38:19Speaker 3: Like I know what I do.
- 38:20Speaker 1: I'm a I'm a glue guy. I'm a sick coaston
- 38:24Speaker 1: locker room nigga.
- 38:25Speaker 3: Like I.
- 38:27Speaker 1: I'ment trash, but I'm like, you know, I'm this nigga Duncan.
- 38:31Speaker 1: So if it's nigga Duncan, you're not dunking. He choice like,
- 38:36Speaker 1: So for me, I'm like, okay, bet, but if we win,
- 38:38Speaker 1: we win. So if I'm rebound, if you if you
- 38:41Speaker 1: can and I can't shoot threes, like it probably like
- 38:45Speaker 1: I'm here, you finished with the last undersized power forward,
- 38:53Speaker 1: Like you know what I'm saying? Yeah, Like I want Yeah,
- 38:56Speaker 1: I playing myself down for comedic billy.
- 38:58Speaker 3: But I was.
- 38:59Speaker 1: I was solid at basketball, right, but I wasn't amazing,
- 39:03Speaker 1: Like I knew I wasn't going to the league anyway. Actually,
- 39:06Speaker 1: I didn't know that I found that out. I believe
- 39:09Speaker 1: it in myself.
- 39:09Speaker 3: What did you find out? No, I'm gonna tell you.
- 39:11Speaker 3: I'm gonna tell you exactly because I remember the moment
- 39:13Speaker 3: it became very clear to me. One when my.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Coach told me that, I was like, okay, so shoot,
- 39:19Speaker 1: shoot if he's asking me, he was like, do you
- 39:20Speaker 1: want to sit on the bench or do you want
- 39:22Speaker 1: to play JV? So I was like, I'll play, like
- 39:24Speaker 1: I'd rather play basketball than not play basketball. But after
- 39:27Speaker 1: my senior year, my coach got me a tryout, me
- 39:29Speaker 1: and my homeboy a tri out at like some Division
- 39:31Speaker 1: III college. So I'm you know, I'm you dubbed like
- 39:35Speaker 1: at that time, Nate Robinson, there, Will Conroy's there like, yeah, Hoopers,
- 39:41Speaker 1: you know they going to that college. So I'm like, okay,
- 39:44Speaker 1: I know these I'm not on that level. So let
- 39:46Speaker 1: me I know I'm gonna cook these white boys at
- 39:48Speaker 1: Pine Tree Valley College. When I tell you, I went
- 39:52Speaker 1: out to the woods in the middle of nowhere Washington,
- 39:54Speaker 1: never heard of this college, never seen these white people.
- 39:56Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, I'm gonna start up guarding the guards.
- 40:00Speaker 1: White boy probably five five, strong as hell, crossing me over.
- 40:03Speaker 3: I can't.
- 40:04Speaker 1: I can't do nothing with them, white boy, Bob, but
- 40:07Speaker 1: just one three, I've crossing me. I'm like, Nigga, why
- 40:11Speaker 1: is he crossing me? He is white, strong as hell,
- 40:16Speaker 1: ripping me, crossing me over. And I'm like a nigga
- 40:19Speaker 1: that hit five threes in a row, like, I'm not
- 40:20Speaker 1: gonna make this team right. And at this point, the
- 40:23Speaker 1: bigs on the on the floor have not done nothing right.
- 40:25Speaker 1: So I'm like, okay, I'm gonna sitch off to the big.
- 40:27Speaker 1: I get my boy, like, yo, switch off. I gotta
- 40:30Speaker 1: do something different, Nigga. I start guarding the white boy.
- 40:32Speaker 1: All of a sudden, this nigga's dunking. He ain't dunked
- 40:35Speaker 1: all games. This niggas they throwing him libs. I'm getting
- 40:37Speaker 1: dunked on and I'm sitting here like, Nigga, I can't
- 40:39Speaker 1: guard anybody on this. And we at Pine Tree Valley
- 40:43Speaker 1: Community College and I can't stop anybody right.
- 40:46Speaker 3: So the coach, You're like, yeah, Frenchman, just take a break. Promise.
- 40:49Speaker 1: Shoot, I took my shoes off. I say, yeah, that's
- 40:51Speaker 1: a that's a that's you ain't got You had plans
- 40:55Speaker 1: to hoop.
- 40:55Speaker 2: At the high school?
- 40:56Speaker 3: What he going to the leading sh mean?
- 41:01Speaker 2: You took that a little too far.
- 41:05Speaker 3: Bro, You gotta understand in my mind, I'm destroying everything
- 41:07Speaker 3: and everything I do.
- 41:08Speaker 2: You must at a hell of a year.
- 41:10Speaker 3: Not really.
- 41:15Speaker 1: I once had twenty six and ten. You know what
- 41:19Speaker 1: I'm saying with my girl. You know in the away
- 41:23Speaker 1: game right step back blocking shots out of Bawn, but
- 41:30Speaker 1: average four overall overall.
- 41:33Speaker 2: That Seasond just a good team player.
- 41:36Speaker 1: Man, Like this is like a lot of things I did.
- 41:39Speaker 1: It's not like you know Draymond what I mean by that.
- 41:43Speaker 1: It's like he don't feel everything that you like. He's
- 41:44Speaker 1: a he's a difference maker on the court. It makes
- 41:46Speaker 1: the team better. That's kind of how I was, right.
- 41:49Speaker 1: But uh, then I went to University of Washington. I
- 41:52Speaker 1: see like Nate Robinson, Will Conroy like these, Brandon Roy,
- 41:55Speaker 1: John Brock, bro Brock like these. This is what God
- 41:59Speaker 1: wants for you, is what he wants for me. But
- 42:03Speaker 1: when I have my streaming service, kept on state studios.
- 42:06Speaker 1: When I tell you dead serious, I'm not a joking
- 42:09Speaker 1: bone in my body. I'm like, we were gonna make
- 42:11Speaker 1: this so big. Netflix is gonna call me and be like, Yo,
- 42:14Speaker 1: what y'all doing, Like y'all eating to our subscriber base,
- 42:17Speaker 1: and I'm like, yeah, we're gonna, yeah, we out here,
- 42:19Speaker 1: Like in my mind, that's how big we're gonna get.
- 42:21Speaker 3: We're gonna make a dent.
- 42:22Speaker 1: You're gonna have to buy me out right, Like that's
- 42:25Speaker 1: but to me, if you if you ain't thinking like that,
- 42:27Speaker 1: then you lost already.
- 42:28Speaker 3: That's the fact, Like you can't.
- 42:30Speaker 1: You might not get there, but you start off like
- 42:32Speaker 1: we just go and have a thousands, what's the point
- 42:34Speaker 1: of even trying? Like I'm trying to dominate in everything
- 42:37Speaker 1: I do. But once I realize I can't, I'm out Like,
- 42:42Speaker 1: if I'm not gonna be that nigga, then I'm not
- 42:44Speaker 1: doing that. You know what I'm saying said, Yeah I
- 42:50Speaker 1: haven't had those harts. I can't tell the kid, yeah.
- 42:55Speaker 2: I ain't got.
- 43:00Speaker 3: People hear that they.
- 43:04Speaker 1: Like my coach and being like I can't be mad
- 43:07Speaker 1: if I said I'm not put me on varsity. My ego, like, no,
- 43:09Speaker 1: I want to be varsity as a junior. I can't
- 43:11Speaker 1: be mad if he don't put me in like that
- 43:13Speaker 1: nigga was dunking. He was strong as hell. This nigga
- 43:16Speaker 1: was like when I was watching him, I was my
- 43:19Speaker 1: game's at three thirty. Bro, they don't even have they
- 43:24Speaker 1: don't even take the ticket that secessions you won't be
- 43:36Speaker 1: Your game is traff chillader because not out here there
- 43:41Speaker 1: not here for the love game, bro, Like it's cool crazy,
- 43:48Speaker 1: I'm cool with that because I knew. I knew where
- 43:50Speaker 1: I was at, Like I'm never I'm very self aware,
- 43:53Speaker 1: Like my son was really good in soccer. Like my
- 43:55Speaker 1: son was at a point where this team in Rome
- 43:59Speaker 1: was like, hey, we want you to come out here
- 44:01Speaker 1: and live here and play under us, like this is
- 44:05Speaker 1: how you going to elevate your game when he was
- 44:06Speaker 1: like coming out of ninth grade and I was like, yo,
- 44:09Speaker 1: if you want to do this, like this is you
- 44:12Speaker 1: really low key late already, because for real, you want
- 44:15Speaker 1: to be like at the top level soccer, they pick
- 44:17Speaker 1: you out at like seven eight nine, you in those academies,
- 44:20Speaker 1: you in Europe and stuff like that. So I was like,
- 44:22Speaker 1: you really late. But the fact that that you're on
- 44:24Speaker 1: the radar, you know, this is your time. If you
- 44:27Speaker 1: want to play at that level, this is it. And
- 44:29Speaker 1: he was like, I ain't trying to go to Rome.
- 44:33Speaker 1: I was like, bet, just know you're not gonna be
- 44:37Speaker 1: at the top level. And he was like, okay, cool,
- 44:40Speaker 1: so we we cool with that, Like, but don't tell
- 44:42Speaker 1: me you want to be at that level. Like even
- 44:44Speaker 1: if you don't go to Rome, like you got to
- 44:46Speaker 1: have a trainer, like if you want to be on
- 44:47Speaker 1: those levels. These kids not playing games. He's like, I'm
- 44:50Speaker 1: trying to enjoy my summer. Well, then that's it. Like
- 44:52Speaker 1: if we're just gonna go to your.
- 44:53Speaker 2: Game, and.
- 44:57Speaker 3: Mikey, these kids they're not playing the game.
- 45:00Speaker 1: You niggas have coaches and trainers and nutritionists at high school,
- 45:04Speaker 1: like the club games. They're not playing about this like
- 45:07Speaker 1: you playing and that's cool. But he also is like, bro,
- 45:10Speaker 1: I don't have to play soccer for a living, Like
- 45:12Speaker 1: I just enjoy soccer. I'm not trying to live in
- 45:14Speaker 1: Italy for that. And my wife is we gotta move
- 45:16Speaker 1: to Italy too.
- 45:16Speaker 3: I was like, nigga, what for sure, it's like boarding school, Like.
- 45:32Speaker 2: I'm with your face out for something.
- 45:39Speaker 1: You want to face soccer, So I respected him when
- 45:41Speaker 1: he didn't want to go. But like, also, don't tell
- 45:44Speaker 1: me you want to play at the top of the level.
- 45:46Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, And that's school. Like he said,
- 45:48Speaker 1: I don't want to play in college. I just enjoy
- 45:49Speaker 1: playing soccer. This Nigga joined the volleyball team just because
- 45:51Speaker 1: he likes playing sports, you know what I'm saying. And
- 45:53Speaker 1: that's fine. But in my mind, it's either the top
- 45:57Speaker 1: or nothing, and that's not always a good mindset. But
- 46:00Speaker 1: it does help me in certain things. But I don't
- 46:03Speaker 1: I can't do things for hobby really, like if I'm
- 46:06Speaker 1: not I used to play the bass, but it's like
- 46:08Speaker 1: if I'm not the best at.
- 46:09Speaker 3: That, then I'm just it ain't no point, you know
- 46:12Speaker 3: what I'm saying. That's funny. I guess Yabody very similar, bro,
- 46:16Speaker 3: especially that crazy Yeah, all that training of stuff. We
- 46:19Speaker 3: ain't try to hoop for real.
- 46:21Speaker 2: Yeah, just god, did you spend money early on when
- 46:26Speaker 2: he was playing?
- 46:27Speaker 1: Yeah, and I didn't really realize, Like I played AAU
- 46:31Speaker 1: basketball but this was it wasn't that level. But but
- 46:34Speaker 1: but soccer in La at the club level is super expensive.
- 46:38Speaker 1: It's it's a thousand bucks, two three thousand bucks and
- 46:41Speaker 1: dudes a couple hundred bucks for Turnament's cleats, like it's
- 46:45Speaker 1: like a really expensive thing.
- 46:47Speaker 3: And he was they was getting washed, like smacked around.
- 46:53Speaker 1: I'm like, Nick, we won't. You won't get smacked around.
- 46:57Speaker 1: Do that at the field by the house. We driving
- 46:59Speaker 1: all the way to say of the Dino niggas losing
- 47:02Speaker 1: zero for sure, and I got to drive back in
- 47:04Speaker 1: the truck. You musty and sleep and I'm like, yeah, nigga,
- 47:08Speaker 1: it's over.
- 47:08Speaker 2: Was he the only like African American?
- 47:10Speaker 3: Yes, yes, kid on the team?
- 47:14Speaker 1: H they picking the team and he was a beef,
- 47:21Speaker 1: like really good at soccer. But it's like, you know,
- 47:23Speaker 1: it's eleven people on the on the team, like and
- 47:25Speaker 1: the other people they got people.
- 47:26Speaker 2: Too, you know what I'm saying. So it's like, save
- 47:29Speaker 2: your money.
- 47:30Speaker 3: Man, save your money.
- 47:31Speaker 2: Man.
- 47:31Speaker 1: We're not gonna do this, and you don't have to
- 47:33Speaker 1: do this, Like I got a whope, say say money
- 47:36Speaker 1: then wet for your father's company after college.
- 47:40Speaker 2: Yeah that's how we did him.
- 47:42Speaker 1: Oh yeah, literally you programmed sorry off just him quitting
- 47:47Speaker 1: seventh grade eighth grade soccer.
- 47:51Speaker 2: He started his a U program for his nephew and
- 47:55Speaker 2: this nigga he's a Hawaiian poh. That program mentioned many
- 48:04Speaker 2: of people to college, to the NBA, A type of
- 48:07Speaker 2: He told the kid, this is I can probably remember
- 48:09Speaker 2: this ship. This is a school northwest where they used
- 48:11Speaker 2: to have like tryouts and ship that he told, fuck you,
- 48:14Speaker 2: this is my uncle t tryouts. We had that program
- 48:20Speaker 2: for another ten years. We didn't see valcom now. One time.
- 48:27Speaker 3: He really told the kids that my daddy hat.
- 48:32Speaker 2: Clear.
- 48:33Speaker 3: It is my daddy that was the energy for man
- 48:40Speaker 3: and work with us.
- 48:42Speaker 1: But that's I mean, that's the dream man. We was
- 48:44Speaker 1: talking to my sons about this last night. My son,
- 48:48Speaker 1: the soccer one, he is a like he is a
- 48:51Speaker 1: cheap dude. Like we was at the airport and he
- 48:54Speaker 1: had ordered the sandwich and three drinks and the dude's
- 48:58Speaker 1: like fifty dollars am I. Someone was like what it
- 49:02Speaker 1: was like sandach twenty three? He was like how much
- 49:04Speaker 1: is drinks?
- 49:05Speaker 3: Like six fifty? So he was like no, I don't
- 49:08Speaker 3: want none of it.
- 49:10Speaker 1: I'm not hungry on thirsty and it drinks from mine
- 49:12Speaker 1: and my wife and the money was like it's my
- 49:15Speaker 1: credit card. And he was like, no, this is just
- 49:17Speaker 1: on principles, like that's that's crazy. So when he also
- 49:21Speaker 1: wanted to go to school for ECON and my wife
- 49:22Speaker 1: was like, you should be production accounting, like you should
- 49:27Speaker 1: be in the budget part of production. Because his whole
- 49:30Speaker 1: life he don't play about his bread. Like even when
- 49:33Speaker 1: he was young, before we even had money, I bet
- 49:34Speaker 1: them one hundred dollars they couldn't do a bottle flip
- 49:36Speaker 1: and he won, like he flipped at the first time.
- 49:38Speaker 1: He kept one hundred dollars for like four years, like
- 49:41Speaker 1: dead serious. His friends like we got a little bit
- 49:43Speaker 1: of bread. And my oldest son is like, you know,
- 49:47Speaker 1: he enjoys that part about it. I was there before
- 49:50Speaker 1: he was like hey man, like he people get on
- 49:53Speaker 1: him like you a trust on bab. He was like
- 49:55Speaker 1: you said that, like niggare my parents take care of me?
- 49:59Speaker 3: Feel bad about it? That's all might be to God.
- 50:02Speaker 3: I'm sorry you can't enjoy this, but.
- 50:08Speaker 2: I can't come from for the mock come on over,
- 50:11Speaker 2: and it's so neat.
- 50:13Speaker 1: With my youngest son, he don't play that like were
- 50:15Speaker 1: going to six Flags, were all paying our way. One
- 50:18Speaker 1: of the times these. Kid was like, you haven't and
- 50:20Speaker 1: my son was like, what you do with them crocs?
- 50:23Speaker 1: He was like, what I take the crocs? They yeah,
- 50:28Speaker 1: he gonna be That's the thing. I wasn't charging my
- 50:31Speaker 1: money because you treat my money like it's your money.
- 50:35Speaker 3: And you know what I'm saying. But he can have that.
- 50:37Speaker 1: Y'all go to school learn how you know, learn the
- 50:38Speaker 1: business for real, but also you can you have a
- 50:41Speaker 1: job here.
- 50:42Speaker 3: But also I told my oldest son this. He wanted
- 50:44Speaker 3: to work for me, and I said, you know me
- 50:46Speaker 3: as the dad and I'm a playful dad. You ain't
- 50:49Speaker 3: known the.
- 50:49Speaker 1: Business person of me, like when I need something I
- 50:52Speaker 1: needed and you ain't seen that side of me. So
- 50:55Speaker 1: if you say you want to do this for real,
- 50:57Speaker 1: I don't play about that. I play about a lot
- 50:59Speaker 1: of stuff, but that business stuff. And he was like
- 51:01Speaker 1: all right, Like so I need five clips from this
- 51:04Speaker 1: episode by Friday at noon and he'll turn them in
- 51:07Speaker 1: midnight Thursday night, Like he knows that I don't play
- 51:11Speaker 1: because like when you go to that business like, they're
- 51:13Speaker 1: not gonna be like oh he's kept on stage, your son,
- 51:14Speaker 1: Like none of that matters when it's time to do
- 51:17Speaker 1: the work, like nepotism will get you in the door,
- 51:20Speaker 1: but a lot of times when you black, it will
- 51:21Speaker 1: not keep you there. You white, Oh yeah, that Scottie son,
- 51:25Speaker 1: like you get chance after chance up to chance when
- 51:27Speaker 1: you black, if you're not working for your dad's company,
- 51:29Speaker 1: Like it's a rap.
- 51:30Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 51:31Speaker 1: And I'm not gonna raise nobody who's gonna be a
- 51:33Speaker 1: bum on of the stuff I built, Like we all
- 51:36Speaker 1: have to work.
- 51:37Speaker 3: You working this for real?
- 51:39Speaker 1: You got to be for real, you know what I'm saying,
- 51:40Speaker 1: Because if I die and lead this to you, I
- 51:42Speaker 1: need to know this in good hands or was just
- 51:45Speaker 1: selling you know what I'm saying, Like because I can't
- 51:48Speaker 1: have my name like Marlowe, my name is my name,
- 51:52Speaker 1: like the streets called me a punk.
- 51:54Speaker 3: She's like, you ain't worry about that.
- 51:55Speaker 2: No, you hire anybody else in the fam. You hire
- 51:58Speaker 2: anybody else in the film because everybody everybody needs.
- 52:07Speaker 3: This is what I tell people. I can't hire you
- 52:09Speaker 3: because I don't want to have to fire you, and
- 52:12Speaker 3: I will immediately like I hired my cousin. I love
- 52:17Speaker 3: you to let you go. I gotta let you. You
- 52:22Speaker 3: just saying, hey, brother, this is my I love her,
- 52:27Speaker 3: but we go on a family trip together to Hawaii.
- 52:30Speaker 1: Every trip for me is work though, Like even if
- 52:33Speaker 1: I'm in Hawaii, I'm still working and taking meeting and stuff.
- 52:35Speaker 1: She put it out of office on her email, like
- 52:38Speaker 1: you can't reach me. I'm out of the office.
- 52:40Speaker 3: Nigga.
- 52:40Speaker 1: You me, you directed people to meet nigga you you're here.
- 52:48Speaker 1: You can't be out of office office. Respect my work
- 52:52Speaker 1: like that.
- 52:55Speaker 2: You took her like pay for her ship to go
- 52:59Speaker 2: like nigga ticket hotel.
- 53:02Speaker 3: I'm paying you for the week. What you mean you
- 53:04Speaker 3: out of office talking? What's in Hawaii? You had a job,
- 53:09Speaker 3: you would use your PTO now you had hurt. But
- 53:11Speaker 3: she didn't even benefit her job.
- 53:13Speaker 2: I didn't say nothing about that is crazy at that good?
- 53:18Speaker 2: That was your last straw.
- 53:19Speaker 3: That was my life. You get that, and I don't
- 53:23Speaker 3: want it. I don't want things giving to be weird.
- 53:25Speaker 3: Yeah it was weird. Yeah, sired you now your auntie
- 53:29Speaker 3: like you do with your wife. What now we got like.
- 53:40Speaker 2: Like, nah, you saw the end in a while. I can't.
- 53:43Speaker 2: Why did I get married or whatever?
- 53:45Speaker 3: It is?
- 53:45Speaker 2: That teller you shot that up.
- 53:50Speaker 3: Even my brother rest in peace. He was my manager
- 53:53Speaker 3: before he passed away. I had to let him go.
- 53:56Speaker 3: I said, man, I need a manager to go out
- 53:58Speaker 3: and get business from me. He's like, that ain't of
- 54:00Speaker 3: what I do. I said, I gotta do it. I
- 54:04Speaker 3: got it, got it. Let you He understood.
- 54:09Speaker 1: I said, brother, these people talking about then, they got teams.
- 54:12Speaker 1: They're gonna go out to Brandon Dell's dead night.
- 54:14Speaker 3: He's like, I can't do it. I got Come on, man,
- 54:18Speaker 3: let me talk to you because it is my life, man,
- 54:22Speaker 3: my life.
- 54:26Speaker 1: Going on at going, Bro, I gotta have people on
- 54:31Speaker 1: my team that are are working as hard as I
- 54:34Speaker 1: am at your thing.
- 54:35Speaker 3: I don't expect you to do my job, but you
- 54:38Speaker 3: gotta do your job.
- 54:39Speaker 1: At your ability, bear storry your role. That's all you
- 54:43Speaker 1: gotta do. That's what I'm telling you, Bro. Not being
- 54:46Speaker 1: great at sports has helped me because you you know you,
- 54:49Speaker 1: you talk about basketball, you think about it. There's only
- 54:53Speaker 1: so many possessions and they can only get to so many.
- 54:56Speaker 1: So people stay in the league by you a three
- 54:58Speaker 1: in D guy. Now you might've been getting forty in
- 55:01Speaker 1: high school thirty in college. Right now, I need you
- 55:05Speaker 1: to guard space the floor and hit corner and hit
- 55:08Speaker 1: that corner three.
- 55:08Speaker 2: I remember them days.
- 55:09Speaker 3: Yeah, because this nigga getting thirty shots a night, damn it, Joe.
- 55:18Speaker 1: So yeah, like I need that out of my team
- 55:20Speaker 1: because I'm gonna do I'm gonna do my part every time,
- 55:23Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying.
- 55:24Speaker 3: So luckily now I have some people with me. Josh
- 55:27Speaker 3: my first.
- 55:28Speaker 1: Hire camera man, excuse me, videographer, he's great, rich, TV film,
- 55:34Speaker 1: he works hard.
- 55:35Speaker 3: My brother Greg, tour manager. He's a beast.
- 55:39Speaker 2: You know.
- 55:39Speaker 1: My wife is the best thing ever, Like she is
- 55:43Speaker 1: legit as good as me, but in the things that
- 55:46Speaker 1: I'm not good at.
- 55:47Speaker 3: So that really was what makes me formadable. Excuse me.
- 55:51Speaker 3: Every team work, but yeah, no family, no more. I
- 55:53Speaker 3: love y'all Thanksgiving the Christmas.
- 55:55Speaker 2: Now, what about though, when it gets tough with the wife,
- 55:57Speaker 2: when y'all arguing that y'all separate work from you know,
- 56:03Speaker 2: I know, you know what I mean. You ain't gotta
- 56:06Speaker 2: say too much, kid, don't get a little trick, y'all
- 56:10Speaker 2: what you know what I mean? We got a little
- 56:13Speaker 2: motion this.
- 56:16Speaker 1: I could never it's yeah, you know, we had this
- 56:19Speaker 1: inside joke where it's like, because there was a time
- 56:22Speaker 1: in the pandemic.
- 56:23Speaker 3: Man.
- 56:23Speaker 1: It was she was like, we can't work together, like
- 56:26Speaker 1: we were not working well together because I'm what what
- 56:29Speaker 1: it took to become kept on stage is not what
- 56:31Speaker 1: it takes to become KEVI on stage studios. And I
- 56:34Speaker 1: was having trouble separating the two because it was always me, me, me,
- 56:37Speaker 1: me me, And I'm hard headed and stubborn and I
- 56:39Speaker 1: think I'm right about everything, and it takes me a
- 56:42Speaker 1: long time to come around to being wrong. And when
- 56:45Speaker 1: I come back to your idea being right, by that
- 56:47Speaker 1: time I come around to it, it's my idea.
- 56:49Speaker 2: Now, like, oh, I know somebody like that. I know
- 56:53Speaker 2: somebody just like that said right.
- 56:58Speaker 1: It was the whole time I come around to, like,
- 57:01Speaker 1: so what we need to do is like that's what
- 57:03Speaker 1: we told you. I remember that now I'm saying it.
- 57:08Speaker 1: So that's crazy and I don't even realize it right.
- 57:13Speaker 1: So my wife always calls me out about that. But
- 57:15Speaker 1: the thing is, yeah, like sometimes it's tough. Sometimes we
- 57:19Speaker 1: gotta figure it out. Sometimes we gotta like you know,
- 57:22Speaker 1: I won't say go our separate ways, but sometimes there's
- 57:25Speaker 1: tension as a result of working together. I think over
- 57:28Speaker 1: the last year or two we really found a good
- 57:33Speaker 1: flow state. And most of it has been me listening
- 57:35Speaker 1: to her earlier, you know what I'm saying, Cause she
- 57:38Speaker 1: didn't write about a lot of things, and I probably
- 57:40Speaker 1: would have. She would have saved me a couple hundred
- 57:43Speaker 1: thousand dollars if I would have listened to her early.
- 57:47Speaker 1: So I don't make that mistake as often as I
- 57:50Speaker 1: used to. But also part of it is like we
- 57:53Speaker 1: we have the conversation and we recognize it's okay to disagree,
- 57:56Speaker 1: but she's like, we got to have the conversation, and
- 57:59Speaker 1: at the end of conversation, you decide this is what
- 58:01Speaker 1: you want to do. That's fine, but you got to
- 58:03Speaker 1: hear me out fairly and listen to what I'm saying.
- 58:06Speaker 1: And if you decide not to do that, that's cool.
- 58:08Speaker 1: But you're not Finna just like ball over me, you
- 58:11Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. So I think it is tough
- 58:14Speaker 1: because back in the day, I went to work and
- 58:17Speaker 1: did my job, she went to work, did her job.
- 58:18Speaker 1: We come back home and talk about stuff. You know,
- 58:22Speaker 1: now our jobs are the same, So sometimes it's like blurr.
- 58:24Speaker 1: Every team, what's like our relationship, what's work? It's like
- 58:28Speaker 1: is there any real difference. Ever, so we have to
- 58:30Speaker 1: find other things to connect about and sometimes we don't agree.
- 58:34Speaker 1: Like I'm really an artist, and what I mean by
- 58:37Speaker 1: that is I can sometimes be a bad business person
- 58:39Speaker 1: because I really really want to perform, and she's like, nah,
- 58:42Speaker 1: like they respecting the money. So she'll speak to the
- 58:45Speaker 1: ego of me like they a don't care. They they
- 58:47Speaker 1: think you will take that. Oh and Nonna what like
- 58:51Speaker 1: Oh they think they're gonna play me like now, Like
- 58:53Speaker 1: but she know how to activate, like, oh, if you
- 58:54Speaker 1: want to take that, then you'll take anything. Oh that's
- 58:57Speaker 1: what they trying to do. So she knows how to
- 58:59Speaker 1: like speak to me, to my you know, my skills
- 59:03Speaker 1: and all that type of stuff. So and she's a
- 59:05Speaker 1: really good business person, like probably better than me. So
- 59:10Speaker 1: I think it's just really beneficial. But she also like
- 59:12Speaker 1: part of the reason I'm doing this New Grief Sucks
- 59:14Speaker 1: tour is because she challenged me, like as a wife,
- 59:17Speaker 1: she was like, I was finna go do the churches,
- 59:20Speaker 1: just doing easy hour, you know, people's gonna have a
- 59:22Speaker 1: good time, And she was like you.
- 59:25Speaker 3: Better than that. Yeah, yeah, she was like, you're doing
- 59:28Speaker 3: them old jokes. I was like, oh, hold on, why
- 59:32Speaker 3: should work?
- 59:33Speaker 1: Yeah, but I remember we was doing the show and
- 59:36Speaker 1: this comedian did the joke I was about to do it.
- 59:37Speaker 1: She was like, that's only happening because you did that
- 59:39Speaker 1: joke when you were sixteen. And she was there like
- 59:42Speaker 1: like you've been doing that joke, Like come on, man,
- 59:44Speaker 1: Like you should be embarrassed that she was even about
- 59:47Speaker 1: to say something somebody else about to say, like yeah, yeah,
- 59:52Speaker 1: Like she really was like speaking to the challenging me,
- 59:55Speaker 1: the creative and me. So it's like there's so many
- 59:58Speaker 1: benefits about being with her that it will it prevents
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: me from like seeing it as a negative because I
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: just told this story on Cam's podcasts about we was
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: we was in a rough spot and I went outside
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: and begged for her like don't leave, and people in
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: the comments and nigga, I'll never.
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: Beg nigga, I will if you have what I have,
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: like I wouldn't. I don't want to lose that.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: Like if I had a diamond and somebody's trying to rob,
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: like I wouldn't just let you take it, like I'd
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: fight for like, and the thing is in that story,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: I was realizing if I let her go I know
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: what it would done to me, Like if I let
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: her go to the hotel that night, I would have
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: been like, oh she don't want me, blah blah black.
- 1:00:36Speaker 3: I could have gotten my head that way. It wasn't
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: all her.
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: And I was like, if we, if we, if you
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: don't get that to that point, we can still do this.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: So I say all that to say, all the way
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: back to what we were talking about, you got to
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: be who you are. I'm a begging nigga. I need
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: that woman in my.
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: Life or a variety of reason, it don't matter.
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: To me what you would do, Nigga in the comments, Yeah,
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: because you don't have her, general it don't matter what
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: you say.
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: That is a fact in this situation. Yeah, one thing
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: I ain't saying about you though, Okay, you know how
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: to stay at the doghouse, Oh man, because I'm gonna
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: testing waters. I'm gonna test the water. I ain't gonna LIEU.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: Let go to the hotel. Because I think I think
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: you was like you when you left as soon as
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: you sorry as the car you ran out there. I
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: let my girl drive down the street. I let it.
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: I let it get down the street. She got the hotel.
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: I gotta test the water because you get to the hotel,
- 1:01:39Speaker 2: damn near I'm gonna let me get to the checkout.
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: This slided that because you know, let me get up,
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: because were gonna stay tonight. I'm gonna stay. We're gonna
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: make this a whole I'm gonna stay the whole night
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: with you. We're gonna make this a whole. Toxic ball
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: bust through the elevator bus to the door here. But
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: now it's road playing. I'm ga. So also that is
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: how you speak how your wife. Yeah, I appreciate that, sure.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: Cause it's like, man, I know, like I know what
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: I got, how I feel lucky and blessed, and it's
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: like it don't it don't bother me, and they don't.
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: I'm not taking like my my manhood is not questioned,
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: like none of that stuff matters to me in that way.
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: Like a lot of times, a lot of time, Loki, men,
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: we have a tendency to do things for the admirasion
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: of other men, regardless of the people that it really
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: matters about. And if you're a real man to me,
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: you do stuff that you know is right and that
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: you you rock with versus like if I do this
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: be here, think it'll be cool.

- 1:03:29Speaker 3: Ain't trying to like.
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: Women were saying that, and men were like, I ain't
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: trying to do that because a lot of times men
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: are more concerned with what men. There's a niggas with
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: dad bods taking work.
