- 0:41The f A. Hey all, welcome to today's show. Let's continue what
- 1:03we have been doing. We're talking about Father Spirago's exhaustive explanation of the Catechism,
- 1:11one of the best Catholic books you will ever read or hear me discuss.
- 1:18Absolutely fantastic. But as usual, we will begin with a couple questions
- 1:23and answers from radio replies. The questioner today says, we Protestants know that
- 1:30the Bible is inspired without having to accept the authority the Catholic Church. We
- 1:34feel that it is the word of God, and we know from the lofty
- 1:40doctrines it contains well. Get ready for their answer. You know, I
- 1:45got into this yesterday. The only authority that tells anyone that the Bible is
- 1:51inspired by God is the Catholic Church, inspired by God, who compiled,
- 1:57wrote, edited, published the Bible. Without the Catholic Church, you have
- 2:01no Bible and you have no reason to believe the Bible. Let's see what
- 2:06the priests say this is. Remember this is Father's Rumble and Cartie from nineteen
- 2:12thirty one. Excellent book. There's actually three or four of these in the
- 2:15series. I'd love to go through all of them and maybe you know God
- 2:19willing, we'll get the chance to do that. They said, your belief
- 2:23is right, though many Protestants are rapidly giving up that belief. For the
- 2:28grounds you allege for your belief scarcely provide a sufficient rationale, a sufficient rationally,
- 2:36a sufficiently rational foundation. You may feel that it is inspired, but
- 2:43nothing can be proved from feelings, and in any case, there are others
- 2:46who do not feel that it is inspired. Again, whilst many passages contain
- 2:53lofty doctrines, many other passages are not lofty, and this argument cannot justify
- 2:58the Bible as a whole. Very true, What are your feelings get you
- 3:01in life? You hear the old saying, We'll say and trust your feelings
- 3:12to one hand and defecate in the other and see what you got. Okay,
- 3:16feelings are not worth much. We have many people in this country who
- 3:22feel that they are a different gender than what the organs are between their legs
- 3:27would dictate that's insanity. And feelings are i won't say unimportant. When you
- 3:37care about someone, you care about their feelings. But feelings are not reality.
- 3:44I'm six foot four. If I feel that I'm ten feet tall,
- 3:47it doesn't make me ten feet tall. If I feel that I'm a dwarf,
- 3:52it doesn't make me a dwarf. If I feel that I can fly,
- 3:58I can go jump off a building and fall to my death. Feelings
- 4:02are you know? I really could go off on this. It's so common
- 4:09in our day and age. You know, there's a there's a chef.
- 4:15I enjoy watching this historical cooking. I don't know, millennial, maybe maybe
- 4:21Generation Z, probably a Generation Z. Okay, so why I don't know.
- 4:29I don't pay attention to generations. Apparently I'm the very last month of
- 4:33the last year of the gen X generation or something. I had no idea,
- 4:38so, and I'm horrible judging ages, but I'm thinking this person somewhere
- 4:42around twenty five. I'll go with that, Okay. I don't know what
- 4:46that makes them. But she always says I feel that this is or I
- 4:51feel like this is, and what she means is I think not I feel,
- 4:58but I think. She say I think because she was taught in school
- 5:02that to state something as a fact would be offensive to others. Much less
- 5:11would you say, I know or this is the truth. It's ridiculous.
- 5:17Truth is truth, False is false, Right is right? Wrong is wrong,
- 5:21day is light, night is dark. I mean, come on,
- 5:25yeah, every now and then you get in eclipse. But you know what
- 5:27I'm saying, It doesn't matter what you feel. The laws of gravity will
- 5:32still affect you. It doesn't matter what you feel. One plus one equals
- 5:38two, And it doesn't matter what you feel. If you have a penis,
- 5:41you're a man, got it. If you have your breast cut off
- 5:49and some tissue taken for your arm and made into an artificial penis, it
- 5:54doesn't make you a man. If you're a woman, what makes you a
- 5:58woman is well, we could start with genetics. You know X and Y
- 6:03chromosomes, right. We could then go on to internal organs. We could
- 6:11go on to the fact that in the womb, the baby, the female
- 6:15baby is exposed to more estrogen and the male to more testosterone. I mean,
- 6:19we could go on and on and on. Did the actual phrase is
- 6:26wish in one hand and crap in the other. Right, feelings are essentially
- 6:31little more than wishes when it comes to when they're not grounded in reality.
- 6:39And going back to this point, the Protestant may say that their authority is
- 6:43the Bible alone, but the Bible never says that the Bible says the Church
- 6:46is the pillar and foundation of the truth. It says scripture is good for
- 6:50instruction and correction, but it says the Church is a pillar foundation of the
- 6:54truth. And without the authority of the Catholic Church, no, the lofty
- 7:00doctrines of the Bible would not prove it to be true. As I said
- 7:04yesterday, it would pale in comparison to say the works of J. R.
- 7:09R. Token or you know whatever. It's a lot of prizes.
- 7:16Say, oh, I feel find so much comfort in reading the Bible,
- 7:19And I say to him, you never read the Old Testament. In comme
- 7:24on the Old Testament, which makes up you know, two thirds three quarters
- 7:29of the Bible is nothing but stories of war and famine and terror and sin
- 7:36and corruption. There's not I mean, it's it's a book of horrors.
- 7:45I mean, yeah, God's through it, you know, helping his people
- 7:48along the whole way. You can learn a lot from the Old Testament,
- 7:51definitely. But had the Catholic Church not said the Bible is the word of
- 7:58God, which only the Catholic Church had the authority to do under the authority
- 8:01given to it by Jesus Christ, himself to teach infallibly on morals and doctrines.
- 8:09Very few people would believe the Bible, okay, and those who did
- 8:15would not interpret it in the way they do now because they're actually inheriting the
- 8:20beliefs of their parents and grandparents who were originally Catholic. Anyway, feelings,
- 8:28I don't ever say to me unless you feel sad or you feel happy,
- 8:31that's fine. But if you ever say to me I feel like you know
- 8:39Joe Biden would make a good president, I'm probably gonna smack in the face.
- 8:41Okay, I mean seriously, and don't in your sentences with a wilt
- 8:48that up talking where you and everything in a question and you sound like a
- 8:52valley girl. Yeah, I really don't like that either. I like a
- 8:58man to sound like a man. Women can have feelings and be weepy and
- 9:03sensitive, okay, whatever, but eventually they got to kind of pull it
- 9:07together to we need. Life is not easy. Life has consequences. Not
- 9:13everybody gets a trophy. People who live in fantasy worlds will soon have their
- 9:20fantasies disrupted in ways they do not will not enjoy. And that happens in
- 9:28everyone's life or at least it should. It should we'll see old saying a
- 9:33conservative is a liberal who has been mugged, attributed to Winston Churchill. No
- 9:39one's sure if he really said it. If you're under the age of thirty
- 9:46and not a liberal, you have no heart. If you're over the age
- 9:48of thirty and still a liberal, you have no brain. Well, there's
- 9:52a lot of growing up that needs to be done, and a lot of
- 9:56I mean a lot of aspects of life, religion being one, because Protestantism
- 10:03really has no foundation. It's a false doctrine. It's a heresy. Anyway,
- 10:11another person says to them, I, for one, do not believe
- 10:15in the Bible. Your own proof is a vicious circle, the Church proving
- 10:18her own infallibility from the scripture, and the inspired scripture from her infallibility.
- 10:24The answer is not a vicious circle, but a lawful spiral argument. This
- 10:30is an important philosophical point, a lawful spiral argument of which the ends do
- 10:35not meet. Taking the scriptures as historical documents, only, the Church proves
- 10:41the historical fact that Christ endowed her with infallibility he said it in the Bible.
- 10:50Then, using that infallibility, she throws new light on the historical books
- 10:56by assuring me that they are inspired. I begin with merely historical books.
- 11:01I finished with inspired historical books. But I did not use inspiration as the
- 11:07basis of my first premise. So too, I would prove that the present
- 11:13king is the rightful ruler from history only, and after that view him under
- 11:18the and after that view him under the aspect of his authority, a bay
- 11:24obeying his legitimate commands. Thus, Saint Augustine said rightly, even in the
- 11:31fourth century, I would not accept the Gospels unless the authority of the Catholic
- 11:35Church impelled me very gosh. I mean, that's that's that's concise, and
- 11:43that's that's true. I mean unless one is acted upon miraculously Okay, that
- 11:50could obviously happen, or is raised as a Christian, or is convinced by
- 11:56some outside force that the is true in the Word of God. One does
- 12:01not pick up a Bible and believe it to be anything other than a work
- 12:07of fiction. Why would they? The person says, you think the infallible
- 12:15authority of the Catholic Church is grounds enough for your belief, and they say,
- 12:18yes, you have only your fallible human opinion that as proof that scripture
- 12:24is not inspired. I uphold the infallible and consistent teaching of the Catholic Church.
- 12:30Disprove her authority to decide which books are inspired and which are not inspired,
- 12:35And you will have made some headway. But until you have done so,
- 12:39your idea is nothing more than your opinion with a value proportionate only to
- 12:43your limited knowledge and mental capacity. That's a much nicer way of saying what
- 12:48I said earlier about wishing in one hand, and you know, the Catholic
- 12:54Church has the authority I attributed her. I shall show on another occasion and
- 12:58they will get into infallibility and the authority of the Catholic Church. But we're
- 13:05gonna talk about the Bible a lot more before that point, where only up
- 13:09to question one hundred and twelve after all out of oh, let me see
- 13:15here one thousand and five hundred and eighty seven questions and answers in the first
- 13:28book. So yeah, it's uh, we're gonna cover a lot of ground
- 13:33before we at the end of this. But now let's start with Father Spirago's
- 13:37introduction, and it starts with that essential question that we discussed a couple of
- 13:41days ago. For what end are we on this earth? Why are we
- 13:48here? As the scholar goes to school in order that he may afterwards attain
- 13:54a certain position in life. So is man play based on this earth in
- 14:01order that he maintained the lofty end of eternal happiness. As the servant serves
- 14:07his master and so earns his bread, so man has to serve God,
- 14:13and through his service attains happiness to some extent in this life and its fullness
- 14:18after death. We are upon this earth in order that we may glorify God
- 14:26and so win for ourselves eternal happiness. Now I'm a pause here for a
- 14:30minute, because my copy of Fellow Spragu's book, written in the eighteen nineties
- 14:35is a used copy. It's an order copy. And someone wrote a note
- 14:41in the Martians, how selfish explanation exclamation, I should say. Now,
- 14:50that's your modernist ideology right there, that God who made us is selfish to
- 14:56wish that we serve him. Let's put that in context. The God who
- 15:03made us, the God who made the world, the God who made time,
- 15:07the God who dictates morality, the God who gives us every blessing,
- 15:16the God who sustains our life with our daily bread, is somehow selfish.
- 15:24One must wonder whom this person serves? Do they serve themselves? Is serving
- 15:37anyone selfish? A parent? Is the parent selfish for asking the child to
- 15:45do chores or obey them? Is I don't know what country this person's from,
- 15:52a king or a democratically instituted means of government. I'm not a big
- 16:02fan of democracy. America was founded as a republic, So every time that
- 16:04word comes up, I'm going to choke onin it a little bit. If
- 16:07you wonder why I don't like democracy, well you could go back and read
- 16:11the founding fathers and realize America was never intended to be a democracy. Mob
- 16:18rule is the result of democracy. Three wolves can vote to eat two sheep,
- 16:25and the majority rules, right. Okay, So I'm going to choke
- 16:29on that term a little bit every time I have to say it, because
- 16:32you hear it so much these days by elected officials and the morons that are
- 16:37ruling us, and they're either corrupt or moronic or both. But is it
- 16:45selfish to obey the laws in your country? Is it selfish to work for
- 16:51an employer to do what the employer asks in exchange for pay? If if
- 16:59that person believes all that is true, then they're only authorities themselves and they
- 17:03only serve themselves, in which case they respect no other authority. They essentially
- 17:11become like satan They become Satanists. Right, Well, if one follows that
- 17:17ends, that end, one is not governed by anyone any morality other than
- 17:22one's own opinion or really one's own wants. So that person then what becomes
- 17:27a rapist, a thief, a murderer. Yeah, that's the end of
- 17:37the modernist idea. One becomes a sociopath because one does not recognize themselves in
- 17:49any level of really social, governmental, religious interaction that respects another person.
- 18:07That person. Can they be work as a waiter or a waitress, No,
- 18:11they can't because they're not gonna do what another person. They're not gonna
- 18:15bring you your cup of coffee when you ask for a cup of coffee.
- 18:18They're gonna act like a child and demand that you serve them. And that's
- 18:25really what we have now, even though it's not an intellectual position. When
- 18:30you see these people's shoplifting with impunity, you know, defecating on the sidewalk,
- 18:37stealing to serve their own addiction, because well, who can tell them.
- 18:44Who can tell them that they shouldn't be using heroin and fentanyl and fentanyl,
- 18:49et cetera. When you have no right, you have no authority.
- 18:53They're wants and needs are the only authority. Well, it takes money to
- 18:59buy the drugs. Where they gonna the drugs, you can steal it from
- 19:00someone. No one has the right to tell them they can't. Right.
- 19:03Well, you may think that's an extreme example, but what about all these
- 19:07you know, kids having their bits cut off because they think they ought to
- 19:11be a different gender. What about someone who has an abortion because they're not
- 19:17going to cater to the needs of a child, Oh, my gosh,
- 19:19care for a human being. No, their sexual desires were all that matter
- 19:26in this world. What about one who says they're in a valid marriage even
- 19:30though they're homosexual, you know, same sex partners. No, the church
- 19:36certainly doesn't have the authority to tell them to define marriage, nor does the
- 19:41government. I would probably side with them on the government issue. But the
- 19:45marriage is a sacrament instituted by God. No, absolutely not. The church
- 19:49has to serve them, and we could go down We can go down this
- 19:56path as far as you want to go. But in the end. The
- 20:00modernist is nothing more than a spoiled child with actually no ability to support itself,
- 20:11to provide for its own needs. It demands everyone else serve him or
- 20:17her and takes on no responsibility. You know, it's the end of civilization.
- 20:25It's the end of the family. It's the end of the human race.
- 20:29The further we go down the modernist path, So nice insight scribbled in
- 20:34this book in order to deface it by a modernist, probably in the nineteen
- 20:42fifties, presumably considering how old this book is May the forties. Yeah,
- 20:49there's nothing new under the sun? Is there nothing new under the sun?
- 20:53Father Sparaga says, the glory of God is the end of all creation.
- 20:57All creatures on the earth are created for this end, that they may manifest
- 21:03in themselves the divine perfections and God's dominion over his rational creatures, that is,
- 21:08over angels and men, and that He may be loved and praised by
- 21:12them. Even the material world and his creatures are not possessed of reason.
- 21:18Animals, trees, plants, stones, metals, etc. All praise God
- 21:22after their own fashion. Let me back up this one. Secon I said,
- 21:25there's nothing new under the sun. And maybe you think I made a
- 21:27rather bold claim saying this is a modernist or a liberal as we might call
- 21:32them. Hillary Clinton's, oh main teacher who wrote Rules for Radicals. His
- 21:42name is escaping me, and it's rather the tip of my tongue. And
- 21:47don't worry about it. The book was Rules for Radicals Communists? Right,
- 21:51who taught Hillary Clinton to be the horrible creature she is. I'm sure she
- 21:56came by it naturally though. The dedication of the book Rules for Radicals,
- 22:03it's dedicated to Satan. Yeah, that's right. Hillary Clinton's inspiration the modern
- 22:10Democratic Party, basically the manifesto that has guided the liberal Democrats since the nineteenth
- 22:21well, late nineteen sixties, early seventies, you know, is actually dedicated
- 22:26to Satan. It says he was the first rebel. So, I mean,
- 22:32you want to say, I'm maybe stating it a little too strongly.
- 22:37Whether it's Nancy Pelosi or Joe Biden or your Democrat neighbor, their political ideology
- 22:45and the way they go about their political victories basically comes from a man who
- 22:52dedicated his work to Satan. Put that in perspective, you know, right
- 23:00now, the liberals are so upset because Mike Johnson, the New House speaker,
- 23:04said that his and he's a Baptist. You know, we agree on
- 23:08some things, we're going to disagree on others. But he said his life
- 23:11view, his what he's going to try to do as speaker is governed by
- 23:15the Bible. Well, why do you think Joe Scarborough. I can barely
- 23:23say his name without cursing. Actually, and Mika Brazinski and all the liberals
- 23:30on television are so upset because he follows the Bible. Who do they follow?
- 23:37Well, just go pick up your own copy of Rules for Radicals or
- 23:40pull it up shirts on archive archive dot org. You know, it is
- 23:45literally dedicated to Satan. That is what the Democratic Party, the Liberals,
- 23:52the communists, the socialists, the progressive, the Modernists, the LGBT,
- 23:59Amper Sam and whatever, pro Palestinians, whatever you want to call him,
- 24:07essentially Satan worshipers. Because the Satan worshiper does not worship Satan per se.
- 24:12They worship themselves. They are the personification of modernism. They make themselves their
- 24:21own gods. Ah. Right, So he says the Lord has made all
- 24:30things for himself. He cites proverbs for that. I guess that is what
- 24:36sixteen Proverbs sixteen verse four. Maybe man is created for this end, and
- 24:44he should proclaim the majesty of God. He must do so, whether he
- 24:48wills it or not. The construction of the body of man, the lofty
- 24:52powers of his soul, the rewards of the good, the punishment of the
- 24:56wicked, all proclaim the majesty of God, his omnipotence, wisdom, goodness,
- 25:02justice, etc. Even the reprobate will have to contribute to the glory
- 25:07of God. That's also from Proverbs. I think it's the same chapter and
- 25:12the end he will show how great is the holiness and justice of God.
- 25:18Man, from the beginning, being possessed of reason and free will, is
- 25:22through these enabled in an especial way to give glory to God. This he
- 25:26does when he knows, loves and honors God. Man is created chiefly for
- 25:32the life beyond the grave. In this life he is a stranger, a
- 25:36wanderer, and a pilgrim. We have not here a lasting city, but
- 25:40we seek one that is to come. That's a quote from Hebrews. Heaven
- 25:44is our true country. Here we are in exile. Hence we are not
- 25:48on earth to only collect earthly treasures, to attain earthly honors, to eat
- 25:53and drink, or to enjoy earthly pleasures. He who pursues ends like these
- 26:00behaves as foolishly as a servant who, instead of serving his master, devotes
- 26:04himself to some passing amusement. He stands idle in the marketplace instead of working
- 26:10in the master's vineyard. He is like a traveler who, attracted by the
- 26:14beauty of the scenery, does not pursue his journey, and so allows the
- 26:18knight to overtake him. We are not made for earth. We are made
- 26:22to look upward to Heaven. The trees, the plants point upward to Heaven,
- 26:26as if to remind us that it is our home. For this reason,
- 26:30our Lord says, one thing is necessary, and again, seek first
- 26:33the Kingdom of God and his justice, and all other things shall be added
- 26:37unto you. Unhappily, too many forget their last end and fix their hearts
- 26:42on money, influence, honor, etc. They are like kings of that
- 26:48heathen country, who, although they reigned but for a year, and after
- 26:52that had to go and live on a barren island, spend all their time
- 26:56in luxury and feasting, and did not lay up any provision for the future
- 27:00on the island where they were to be bound. He who does not think
- 27:04on his last end is not a pilgrim but a tramp, and falls into
- 27:08the hands of the devil. As a tramp into the hands of the police.
- 27:14He is like a sailor who knows not whither he is sailing, and
- 27:18so wrecks his ship. Our Lord compares such men to the servant who sleeps
- 27:23instead of watching for his master's coming reference to Gospel of Matthew. I think
- 27:33we'll wrap it up there today. We've covered a lot of ground, and
- 27:37it's a lot to think about. Actually, and I finally remember the name
- 27:42of the author of Rules for Radicals. It was saw Olyinsky. Saw Olynsky,
- 27:48that was the most influential figure in Hillary Clinton's college education and one of
- 27:57the most evil men ever to write a book dedicated Satan. How much more
- 28:03do you have if you want to? Okay, is this guy evil or
- 28:07not? Let's see, did he dedicate his book to Satan? Yeah?
- 28:10Actually he did. And he's Jewish, so obviously he knew who Satan is.
- 28:15Was is you know, a fallen angel? The inspiration of all evil
- 28:23and Therefore, we can say that Sololinsky was indeed a very evil man,
- 28:30and those who whom he aspired inspired aspire to do works of evil, not
- 28:40of good. So yeah, we're in a bad way in this country right
- 28:44now, and it's mainly due to people like Hillary Clinton and Sololinsky. But
- 28:53there's nothing new under the sun that's human nature and has been since Kane killed
- 28:57Abel, and you know who knows beyond that. So anyway, y'all,
- 29:03in the words of Saint patre Pia, pray, hope and don't worry and
- 29:07I'll talk to you marrow m hm.
