- 0:04Speaker 1: it's cubby christine and producer kristin and according to decades
- 0:08Speaker 1: of u.s birth data calendar dates are far from equal
- 0:12Speaker 1: as we know when it comes to celebrating birthdays with
- 0:14Speaker 1: late summer dominating the calendar and major holidays tucked away
- 0:18Speaker 1: at the very bottom now christine based on data from
- 0:21Speaker 1: the national center for health statistics here are the top
- 0:24Speaker 1: 10 most common birthdays. Okay. And after that, we'll do
- 0:28Speaker 1: the rarest birthdays.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Okay.
- 0:30Speaker 1: But anybody listening, is this your birthday? These are the
- 0:33Speaker 1: most common. Number one is September 9th. Number two is
- 0:37Speaker 1: September 20th. Number three is September 19th. Number four, September 14th. Now,
- 0:43Speaker 1: We're four in here.
- 0:44Speaker 2: I'm nodding along because I have friends who are like
- 0:47Speaker 2: right in that zone.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Yes. And you think September, ninth month of the year,
- 0:50Speaker 1: what was going on New Year's Eve? So we're four
- 0:54Speaker 1: in here and they're all Septembers. Then we have number five,
- 0:57Speaker 1: July 7th. These are the most common birthdays in America.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Number six, December 28th. Ooh, so close to you and Kristen.
- 1:06Speaker 1: You're the 26th and of course Kristen the 29th. Back
- 1:10Speaker 1: to September here. Number seven, September 12th. Then September 10th.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Then September 18th. Then September 21st.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Wow, a lot of September babies.
- 1:19Speaker 1: So when it comes to the most common birthdays, only
- 1:22Speaker 1: two are not Septembers.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:25Speaker 1: And that's July 7th and December 28th. Now, the rarest birthdays. Yeah, hi.
- 1:33Speaker 1: You know you're coming, right?
- 1:34Speaker 2: Hi, it's me.
- 1:34Speaker 1: All right, so number one is February 29th. And I
- 1:38Speaker 1: know a couple of people with a leap year birthday.
- 1:40Speaker 1: I always ask them, when do you celebrate?
- 1:41Speaker 2: When do you choose to celebrate?
- 1:43Speaker 1: Of course, it's usually the 28th. But every now and
- 1:44Speaker 1: then they'll say March 1st to be different. December 25th
- 1:48Speaker 1: is number two. January 1st is number three in the
- 1:52Speaker 1: rarest birthdays. Shout out to my sister-in-law, Aiko. Her birthday
- 1:57Speaker 1: is January 1st. Number four is December 24th. July 4th
- 2:03Speaker 1: is number five. January 2nd, number six. Not fun. Look
- 2:08Speaker 1: at that.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Look what we have here.
- 2:10Speaker 1: At number seven, rarest birthday, December 26th, Christine Iggy.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Wah, wah, wah.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.
- 2:19Speaker 2: That's right, Covey.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Always just overshadowed by Santa.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Okay, Santa. We'll choose to say it's Santa who stole
- 2:26Speaker 2: the show.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Number eight is November 26th, followed by the 25th of November,
- 2:32Speaker 1: and then November 24th. That's interesting, right?
- 2:35Speaker 2: My nephew's in there, yeah. I love how around Thanksgiving, the.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Last three are 24, 25, 26. So it looks.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Like we've somehow managed to avoid the major holidays.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Our parents. Yes. Yeah.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Except for me. And my mom had said to me,
- 2:51Speaker 2: you know, my brother's being a bit older than me.
- 2:54Speaker 2: She didn't want to spoil their Christmas. So she felt
- 2:57Speaker 2: like it was close. And she was like, please just
- 3:01Speaker 2: let me hang on through Christmas. And that's kind of,
- 3:04Speaker 2: She waited. I don't know how much she could control it,
- 3:07Speaker 2: but I was born at like two in the morning
- 3:08Speaker 2: on December 26th because she just wanted to make it
- 3:11Speaker 2: through Christmas.
- 3:13Speaker 1: So how was it when you were a kid? I've
- 3:14Speaker 1: probably asked you before, but you know me, I have
- 3:16Speaker 1: no memory. Yeah.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Misery.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Did you wake up Christmas day, Santa and all that? Yeah.
- 3:21Speaker 1: And then the next day, would it be a birthday
- 3:23Speaker 1: party or you're pausing? You're making me nervous.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Because no.
- 3:29Speaker 1: So there would never be.
- 3:31Speaker 2: No, it might. My parents made sure that I had
- 3:34Speaker 2: separate presents on my birthday, which was cool. And a
- 3:38Speaker 2: lot of people thought, oh, that's good. You get presents
- 3:39Speaker 2: two days in a row, but not for the rest
- 3:41Speaker 2: of the year. But no, we could never, ever pull
- 3:44Speaker 2: a party together, ever.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Ever, yeah.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Yeah, it just wasn't happening. I don't even try. I
- 3:49Speaker 2: don't even try now.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Another sad thing about your birthday is when you were
- 3:52Speaker 1: a kid, you had no celebration of people at school
- 3:56Speaker 1: shouting you out.
- 3:57Speaker 2: That's right, Cubby.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Yeah, because they were on vacation, like the summer birthdays. Yep.
- 4:01Speaker 1: They will never get like that cupcake. No. In class.
- 4:05Speaker 2: It'll never happen.
- 4:05Speaker 1: I always felt bad for summer babies and people like
- 4:08Speaker 1: you that had like they're on holiday.
- 4:10Speaker 2: But at least summer babies like your mom can say, hey,
- 4:12Speaker 2: let's have a little party or something. And people will go, OK,
- 4:15Speaker 2: because it's, you know, it's not the day after Christmas
- 4:18Speaker 2: or a major holiday. So they're into having a party.
- 4:20Speaker 2: I'm just saying, you know, no.
- 4:23Speaker 1: If you celebrate a birthday with Christine Nagy the day
- 4:25Speaker 1: after Christmas, can you text us at 44363?
- 4:29Speaker 2: Can we commiserate?
- 4:30Speaker 1: And a shout out to producer Kristen, who we love,
- 4:32Speaker 1: who's unable to speak on the air. That's a long story.
- 4:35Speaker 1: But she's producing. She's behind the scenes. She's December 29th.
- 4:38Speaker 2: It's like the same for her.
- 4:40Speaker 1: Same kind of thing.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Yes.
- 4:43Speaker 1: So 44363 on text. We'd love to hear from you.
