- 0:27Speaker 1: Bill O'Reilly.
- 0:28Speaker 2: How you doing getting ready for Thanksgiving? I heard the
- 0:31Speaker 2: rumor you're gonna be on one of the floats, Simone?
- 0:33Speaker 2: Is that true?
- 0:34Speaker 1: No, it's gonna be windy and cold and freezing.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Have you ever been to one of those parades?
- 0:42Speaker 1: Well, I've been in a few parades, not the Thanksgiving
- 0:44Speaker 1: Day one, but other parades. No, it's kind of strange
- 0:48Speaker 1: marching down the road.
- 0:49Speaker 2: I had to work it a few times when I
- 0:51Speaker 2: was at Channel two. I just don't know why people
- 0:56Speaker 2: like to see people on floats waving. Do you have
- 0:59Speaker 2: any idea why they like to see that? No?
- 1:02Speaker 1: I don't know why they even stand there for twelve
- 1:04Speaker 1: hours when you can watch the TV.
- 1:06Speaker 2: But right why do they millions of people turn on
- 1:10Speaker 2: TV's is to watch people on floats waving everyone like
- 1:14Speaker 2: animal house, and they will destroy each other. They'll be
- 1:16Speaker 2: all right, but I'm not getting it. They are, they're waving.
- 1:22Speaker 1: So what you know? It's also very generational. This Donald
- 1:26Speaker 1: Duck comes by and every kid goes, who the hell
- 1:27Speaker 1: is that? You know?
- 1:28Speaker 2: They right? How about the rockets? I don't know one
- 1:32Speaker 2: human being who's ever seen the rockets? Do you know
- 1:35Speaker 2: anybody who's ever seen the rockets?
- 1:37Speaker 1: Well, privately I've seen a few, but not the show them.
- 1:42Speaker 1: So hey, you're the great historian. The first Thanksgiving we
- 1:46Speaker 1: pictured the beautifully dressed Pilgrims. They came over in the
- 1:49Speaker 1: wonderful Mayflower. Tell us what really happened back then?
- 1:54Speaker 2: Well, sixteen twenty two, they're una may Flowers. Sixty six
- 1:58Speaker 2: days they show up. They think they're in Virginia, but
- 2:02Speaker 2: they're not. They're in Cape Cod and it's cold, windy,
- 2:09Speaker 2: but they want off the ship because sixty six days
- 2:13Speaker 2: and they couldn't go on top of the ship. They
- 2:16Speaker 2: had all stayed beneath the deck and you can imagine
- 2:20Speaker 2: the just the odor alone down there. So they all
- 2:25Speaker 2: want to can't where they were, just want to get
- 2:27Speaker 2: off the stupid mayflower. So they row in and they
- 2:34Speaker 2: show up Plymouth. If you go up to Massachusetts, the
- 2:37Speaker 2: town of Plymouth, there's no rock, all right, but they
- 2:40Speaker 2: show up and then they look at each other and goes, well,
- 2:43Speaker 2: what do we do now? Said and he driving restaurants
- 2:48Speaker 2: or any door dash He's like, Okay, we have to
- 2:51Speaker 2: find food or will die. Half of them die, half
- 2:55Speaker 2: of them whoa yeah, within a year and I read
- 3:00Speaker 2: about this and killing the witches, how this harrowing voyage
- 3:04Speaker 2: and the reason that they had to make it. And
- 3:07Speaker 2: they weren't called pilgrims to one hundred years later in
- 3:11Speaker 2: the nineteenth century they labeled them pilgrims. They were called
- 3:14Speaker 2: separatists or Puritans, and they were very harsh religious people,
- 3:19Speaker 2: and everybody in Europe hated them. The Dutch hated them,
- 3:23Speaker 2: the English hated them because they were like fanatics. They're
- 3:27Speaker 2: like the people that come to your door, you know,
- 3:29Speaker 2: and they want to convert you. That's what they were.
- 3:33Speaker 2: And so they somehow survived, somehow with the help of
- 3:37Speaker 2: the Native American and the guy named Squanto showed them
- 3:41Speaker 2: how to get food out of the forest. So I
- 3:44Speaker 2: have of them survived, but they're all quibbling and yelling
- 3:46Speaker 2: at each other and in church for five hours and
- 3:50Speaker 2: all of that. So it wasn't exactly club med there,
- 3:53Speaker 2: if you know what I'm saying.
- 3:54Speaker 1: So the first Thanksgiving dinner everybody was fighting too, not
- 3:57Speaker 1: just today.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Well now they had a dinner courtesy of Squanto in
- 4:04Speaker 2: his a few tribe members, most of the tribe with
- 4:08Speaker 2: white gap by smallpox. And Squanto was an Indian who
- 4:13Speaker 2: was kidnapped by an English sailor and brought the Spain,
- 4:19Speaker 2: learned how to speak English in Spain, and then somehow
- 4:22Speaker 2: got back to Massachusetts. I don't know whether he flew
- 4:25Speaker 2: jet blue. I don't know how he got back there,
- 4:28Speaker 2: but Squanto was a good guy and helped him out.
- 4:31Speaker 2: So they had a three day celebration where they all
- 4:34Speaker 2: got you know, they weren't supposed to get drunk, but
- 4:36Speaker 2: believe me, they were getting drunk. And they had oysters,
- 4:40Speaker 2: mostly seafood, not turkey, not turkey or you know, mashed potatoes.
- 4:48Speaker 2: It was mostly seafood day. But they had a good time.
- 4:52Speaker 2: And then from there the Massachusetts Bay Colony was established.
- 4:57Speaker 1: So how come we have to have turkey and stuff
- 5:00Speaker 1: and all that? Why can't we have seafood?
- 5:02Speaker 2: Well, a better question is why do we have the
- 5:04Speaker 2: president of the United States pardoning the Turkey? Now. I
- 5:08Speaker 2: heard a rumor that Senator Kelly's going to be on
- 5:11Speaker 2: that line. He's going to get partnered along with the
- 5:13Speaker 2: Kelly but I don't think that's true.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Hey, those Congress people with their silly stunt. Although it worked,
- 5:21Speaker 1: it was a pretty good stunt. But we going to
- 5:25Speaker 1: an era of trolling and stunts, and that's how we're
- 5:27Speaker 1: going to do our nation's politics.
- 5:30Speaker 2: I know, it's so ridiculous. And a man, Donnie Trump, mean,
- 5:34Speaker 2: he was a stunt too. I wrote a column on
- 5:36Speaker 2: Billowiley dot com about this, called a stunt Factor. Yeah,
- 5:40Speaker 2: I think you're right. I think this is the future
- 5:43Speaker 2: politics as you set up this contrived nonsense. But I
- 5:48Speaker 2: don't think this worked out well for the Democrats, the
- 5:50Speaker 2: six of these people. I don't think they gained any currency,
- 5:54Speaker 2: except for the far left cranks, because even if you
- 5:57Speaker 2: don't like Trump, you're going why they're undermining the military. Now,
- 6:03Speaker 2: is that what you're doing here? If they had to
- 6:05Speaker 2: beef a legitimate beef of an order that might be
- 6:10Speaker 2: beyond the constitutional authority, of the president. I'm willing to
- 6:14Speaker 2: listen to that. But they didn't have anything. They just
- 6:17Speaker 2: want to get on television and wail about how noble
- 6:20Speaker 2: they are with a bunch of garbage.
- 6:23Speaker 1: It was a bold solution for a problem that doesn't exist.
- 6:26Speaker 2: And the problem is there in the sense that there
- 6:31Speaker 2: are all orders given in every campaign by every president.
- 6:35Speaker 2: They are dubious. You imagine being in Theanola gay I
- 6:38Speaker 2: wrote this in the column, and you got to drop
- 6:40Speaker 2: the a bomb on civilians and kill one hundred thousand
- 6:43Speaker 2: of them. I mean, that's still being debated to this day,
- 6:47Speaker 2: Harry Truman's order. But you're in the plane and go,
- 6:50Speaker 2: I don't think I think this is your leg I'm
- 6:52Speaker 2: not dropping a bomb. No, he can't. He can't have that.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Co'm on, So hey are Ukraine. It seemed like a
- 7:01Speaker 1: silly kind of a peace plan, too much in favor
- 7:03Speaker 1: of Russia. But it looks like they've made some progress
- 7:06Speaker 1: on it looks like something could happen.
- 7:07Speaker 2: What do you think, Well, this is what usually happened.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Some slimeball leaked out the original outline of the peace
- 7:17Speaker 2: deal to the Telegraph newspaper in London. But you know,
- 7:22Speaker 2: any negotiator. If you've ever done a negotiation in your life,
- 7:25Speaker 2: you always start with craziness. I want this, I want that,
- 7:29Speaker 2: and then you come back to the center. So the
- 7:32Speaker 2: President don't care about any of that. They just report
- 7:34Speaker 2: the leak. I don't know exactly how this is going
- 7:39Speaker 2: to come out, but I do know that Russia is
- 7:42Speaker 2: much more powerful than Ukraine. And you know you're getting
- 7:47Speaker 2: all these dispatches from the White House saying, well, we
- 7:49Speaker 2: got this, we got that. I wouldn't count on Putin cooperating.
- 7:54Speaker 2: You know, if you read Confronting Evil and thank you
- 7:56Speaker 2: for mentioning it a pop, this is a bad guy.
- 8:00Speaker 2: I mean beyond I mean, if you really want evil,
- 8:02Speaker 2: if you really want to understand it, you can read
- 8:04Speaker 2: my book. But you can also look at this Putin.
- 8:07Speaker 2: This guy he enjoys killing women and children. He likes it,
- 8:12Speaker 2: and he can. There's no restraint on him. He's hitler,
- 8:16Speaker 2: he's stylin. He does what he wants. He's no like
- 8:19Speaker 2: he has to confer with somebody. So I don't get
- 8:23Speaker 2: too optimistic about this thing. And Zelenski's got no power
- 8:27Speaker 2: at all, none, And so where is his bargaining positioned?
- 8:32Speaker 2: He doesn't have one.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Yeah, if you want to read an amazing book, Bill
- 8:36Speaker 1: O'Reilly's latest book, Confronting Evil. If you want to really
- 8:38Speaker 1: be stunned, read the Putin chapter. You won't believe this
- 8:42Speaker 1: guy height. But also, it's Christmas coming up. People need
- 8:45Speaker 1: to get gifts. What do you have a good deal
- 8:47Speaker 1: on your books for gifts?
- 8:48Speaker 2: Oh? You know, we had a lot of good stuff
- 8:50Speaker 2: because I feel bad for working men and women, particularly
- 8:53Speaker 2: in the New York area. We're being gouged every time
- 8:55Speaker 2: we turn around. Fifteen dollars the sandwiches now and come on,
- 9:01Speaker 2: you know. So what I did on Bill O'Reilly dot
- 9:05Speaker 2: com Christmas store was we have a bundle of all
- 9:09Speaker 2: of my books, all fifteen thirteen, Killing two Confronting for
- 9:14Speaker 2: a very good price. And these books are in demand.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Even if you don't like me, the books are good.
- 9:20Speaker 2: And see you buy the bundle keep something for yourself
- 9:22Speaker 2: if you want, but you can give them away. You
- 9:25Speaker 2: save a ton of money on gifts, and I'll sign them.
- 9:29Speaker 2: I can. I signed five thousand books tom and over
- 9:32Speaker 2: the weekend. Wow, five thousand books.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Yeah, people, you don't think, but a book is a
- 9:37Speaker 1: great Christmas gift for somebody perfect.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Yeah, especially if it's a good book. Yeah, if they
- 9:44Speaker 2: like it. And then we got you know, the not
- 9:47Speaker 2: woke stuff we got. I have a knot woke Matt
- 9:49Speaker 2: in front of my house. I sat a little message,
- 9:52Speaker 2: you know, I don't want to really hear it. And
- 9:54Speaker 2: then we have Christmas ornaments and hats and shirts and
- 9:56Speaker 2: all that stuff. And what this does is it allows
- 9:59Speaker 2: me to give Christmas bonuses to my staff. Yeah, so
- 10:03Speaker 2: so everybody wins here.
- 10:05Speaker 1: All right, Well we're out of time, but if you
- 10:07Speaker 1: want to do some Christmas shopping, you want to get
- 10:08Speaker 1: it all taken care of, go to Bill O'Reilly dot com.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Books are great gifts, and all those other gifts go
- 10:13Speaker 1: to Bill O'Reilly dot com. You also get the TV show,
- 10:16Speaker 1: the column. Everything is there Bill O'Reilly dot com. Bill O'Reilly,
- 10:20Speaker 1: thanks for being with us.
