Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Yeah, Bronnie, just the level of comfort that it looked
- 0:04Speaker 1: like you had out there. How did you feel and
- 0:06Speaker 1: did any part of that come into from a mindset
- 0:09Speaker 1: perspective as you were looking forward to the game knowing
- 0:11Speaker 1: you were going to play, And how would you say
- 0:12Speaker 1: that evolved is the game went on?
- 0:14Speaker 2: Uh?
- 0:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I said, I've gained my confidence and
- 0:18Speaker 3: gave my comfortability over just reps and you know, getting
- 0:21Speaker 3: out there and taking advantage of my opportunity if it's given.
- 0:25Speaker 3: So just you know, being ready at all times. I
- 0:27Speaker 3: think that's the biggest thing for me, saying, you know,
- 0:30Speaker 3: staying let's stay ready games and practice and stuff like that,
- 0:33Speaker 3: and taking advantage like I did tonight.
- 0:35Speaker 4: So yes, we got.
- 0:37Speaker 3: For me so far.
- 0:37Speaker 1: JJ was talking to us about kind of seeing your growth,
- 0:40Speaker 1: you know, from the moment that actually going back before
- 0:43Speaker 1: he was the coach of the combine, he watched the
- 0:44Speaker 1: video of you doing the interviews and he texted your
- 0:47Speaker 1: dad about it. How would you kind of trace the
- 0:50Speaker 1: evolution of you with JJ kind of what he's told
- 0:53Speaker 1: you from the first time you met you up to
- 0:55Speaker 1: the point of like today and even kind of getting
- 0:57Speaker 1: play for the game.
- 0:58Speaker 3: Just I say, just all the coaches believing in me
- 1:02Speaker 3: and continue to you know, put that in my head
- 1:05Speaker 3: that they believe in me and what I can do
- 1:08Speaker 3: as a player. And you know, I was given an
- 1:13Speaker 3: opportunity tonight to go, you know, show them what I've
- 1:16Speaker 3: been working on while I've been you know, sitting the
- 1:19Speaker 3: bench in the G League, getting the reps and stuff
- 1:21Speaker 3: like that. So yeah, just constantly putting that in my
- 1:26Speaker 3: head that you know, they believe in me and that
- 1:29Speaker 3: I can contribute.
- 1:31Speaker 4: Friday, what expectations did you put on yourself in say
- 1:35Speaker 4: training camp in preseason and how does that square up
- 1:38Speaker 4: with where you are at now five months into your
- 1:40Speaker 4: rookie season.
- 1:42Speaker 3: I just say, just going in and working as hard
- 1:44Speaker 3: as I can. I mean, that's all I can do.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Just learn and you know, be open minded every day
- 1:51Speaker 3: every time I you know, come into work in the
- 1:53Speaker 3: morning and you know, being that same you know, level
- 1:56Speaker 3: headed kid, just trying to get his work done, but
- 2:00Speaker 3: also just you know, like I said, taking advantage of
- 2:02Speaker 3: those reps so that I you know, I can get
- 2:04Speaker 3: and yeah, just staying a little at it.
- 2:11Speaker 2: When we spoke with JJ just a few minutes ago,
- 2:14Speaker 2: he acknowledged that there's a lot of stuff you've had
- 2:18Speaker 2: to deal with just because of who your dad is
- 2:20Speaker 2: and things you can understand more than I can speak on.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Just how has it been balancing that, trying to deal
- 2:27Speaker 2: with that noise, deal with what said, deal what's what's written.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Also just trying to focus on your game, on your development,
- 2:32Speaker 2: like the things that you can control.
- 2:34Speaker 3: I guess and just put my head down and work.
- 2:37Speaker 3: And I feel like that's the only thing that I
- 2:39Speaker 3: can control right now is going in every day and
- 2:43Speaker 3: you know, staying ready to play, staying ready to learn,
- 2:47Speaker 3: getting the work in after hours, early mornings, stuff like that.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Just all the controllables that I can, you know, do myself.
- 2:55Speaker 3: There's not really much I can do of people, random
- 2:58Speaker 3: people talking about me every day, so I can't really
- 3:02Speaker 3: do much about that. So I just you know, going
- 3:04Speaker 3: to the gym and work, put my head down and
- 3:06Speaker 3: trying to get better every day.
- 3:08Speaker 5: Brodie, a lot of times you mentioned that levelheadedness. I'm
- 3:11Speaker 5: sure that's that's handy when there's like negativity floating like
- 3:15Speaker 5: there's gonna be a lot of positivity. I would imagine
- 3:17Speaker 5: after today, does that levelheadedness have to show up in
- 3:21Speaker 5: the same way when you get back to work tomorrow.
- 3:24Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure, going in the gym tomorrow, we're ready
- 3:27Speaker 3: to you know, works as hard as I did yesterday.
- 3:30Speaker 3: So the same approach for every day that I you know,
- 3:35Speaker 3: go into my job.
- 3:37Speaker 4: Yeah, Ronnie, what what was this stretch like for for you?
- 3:42Speaker 4: Joining the team on the road and the Milwaukee Denver
- 3:46Speaker 4: back to back as part of this six games in
- 3:48Speaker 4: eight days stretch? JJ said, doesn't feel like modern players
- 3:51Speaker 4: should be playing this many, you know, three consecutive back
- 3:54Speaker 4: to backs. But but just one of the last like
- 3:55Speaker 4: eight days, been like with with you know, for I
- 3:58Speaker 4: guess for you personally, but also for.
- 3:59Speaker 3: The team again, just I think, uh, just taking advantages
- 4:05Speaker 3: of my opportunity, whether that's you know, given to me
- 4:08Speaker 3: today or you know the game against Denver. Just being ready,
- 4:13Speaker 3: uh again to stay ready. Games at the gym they
- 4:18Speaker 3: prepare me to, you know, be confident in my play
- 4:20Speaker 3: and what I do. So just keeping that same mindset
- 4:25Speaker 3: of being ready and being confident in myself.
- 4:28Speaker 6: Hey, Bronnie's kind of a bigger picture question. But with
- 4:31Speaker 6: your younger brother winning the state championship and then you
- 4:35Speaker 6: being at this stage in your basketball career, I'm just
- 4:37Speaker 6: wondering how your advice to him as the older brother
- 4:41Speaker 6: has evolved, and you know, what guidance do you have
- 4:45Speaker 6: for him as he continues to move forward in his
- 4:47Speaker 6: basketball career.
- 4:49Speaker 3: As when we were younger. The main thing I'd like
- 4:52Speaker 3: to push to him just having fun, just you know,
- 4:55Speaker 3: playing your your game, being confident in yourself. But yeah,
- 5:00Speaker 3: I think, as you know, I became a senior and
- 5:03Speaker 3: he's a now senior now, to just have that mindset
- 5:07Speaker 3: of working because there's you know, a lot of kids
- 5:10Speaker 3: out there that you know, I want to be in
- 5:12Speaker 3: my spot or his spot, and you can't take that
- 5:15Speaker 3: for granted. So yeah, just keep keep working. I feel
- 5:20Speaker 3: like that's the main thing.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Brinnie.
- 5:23Speaker 3: You have the play where you would showed off your
- 5:24Speaker 3: handles a bit, I'm your honest and trying to stay
- 5:27Speaker 3: in front of you break down that play for us.
- 5:32Speaker 3: He's a he's a much bigger guy than me, so
- 5:35Speaker 3: I gotta find a way to get around him. Somehow
- 5:40Speaker 3: may have got fouled. That's, you know, for argument, but
- 5:44Speaker 3: it is what it is.
- 5:45Speaker 5: I tried to give me a bucket, that's it.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Yeah, Bronnie, just last year obviously you didn't get to
- 5:54Speaker 1: play as much basketball as you would have liked to.
- 5:56Speaker 1: So I just wonder, physically alone, how how much are
- 5:59Speaker 1: you feeling like yourself, how much game shape all of that,
- 6:02Speaker 1: and how much do you kind of still feel like
- 6:04Speaker 1: you can get to.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Uh.
- 6:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like it's all coming back, just being
- 6:09Speaker 3: out for that long stuff that I had to go
- 6:12Speaker 3: to through, you know, win wise and lung wise and
- 6:16Speaker 3: all my you know. Yeah, just I think I've been
- 6:22Speaker 3: getting more comfortable as I get the reps under me
- 6:26Speaker 3: and get the games under me and practices and learning
- 6:29Speaker 3: from the bench and stuff like that, and I feel
- 6:30Speaker 3: like it's good for me. Thanks Bi,
