- 0:03Speaker 1: Full disclosure, fellas. Brand new system has been installed.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:07Speaker 1: So I have no idea if this is going to
- 0:08Speaker 1: work or not, but we'll have a crack.
- 0:10Speaker 3: Here we go. For all you mad bastards loving the
- 0:15Speaker 3: Big Show podcast, get up even closer on Instagram, YouTube,
- 0:20Speaker 3: and TikTok. Or 4 to 7 every weekday on Radio
- 0:25Speaker 3: Hoda Akim.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Oh, get a feel.
- 0:27Speaker 4: Backbone.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Hello.
- 0:28Speaker 2: It seems.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Look at Keezy's furrowed brain.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Because what's happening here is it sounds like the sound effects,
- 0:33Speaker 1: like the outro admin just then. It was way quieter
- 0:36Speaker 1: than our voices are.
- 0:36Speaker 3: It's the best it's ever been.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Looking at the waveforms, you know.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Never better.
- 0:40Speaker 2: It just felt crystal to me.
- 0:41Speaker 1: You can't even see.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Hey, Mogi, Mogi. Oh, Keezy's got a Coke.
- 0:47Speaker 4: He's got a can of Coke there. Oh, dear.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Oh, he's looking a bit glassy-eyed as well. A few
- 0:53Speaker 3: beers last night, brother. Did you have a few beers
- 0:56Speaker 3: last night?
- 0:56Speaker 2: The old freebies there. Didn't you? Oh, another one of
- 0:59Speaker 2: those loads off the tray there. What is that, a pinot?
- 1:03Speaker 1: I had a couple of beers, yes, with Pugs. However, no,
- 1:06Speaker 1: I just didn't sleep very well last night. You're really
- 1:08Speaker 1: struggling at the moment, aren't you? But you're right, his
- 1:11Speaker 1: apple cart's been rocked a little bit.
- 1:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Apple carts rocked a little bit. You've got moves on.
- 1:17Speaker 3: There's things happening. You're stressed out.
- 1:18Speaker 1: A lot of stuff happening.
- 1:19Speaker 3: You're not in control, Keezy. Everything's not how it's meant
- 1:22Speaker 3: to be.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I'm careening out of control right now.
- 1:24Speaker 4: The trailer's a bit open and the apples are just
- 1:27Speaker 4: dropping out the side there.
- 1:28Speaker 3: I'll tell you what'll help, man. Wake up in the
- 1:30Speaker 3: middle of the night and think about it.
- 1:32Speaker 1: That's what I did. And it didn't really help.
- 1:36Speaker 5: No.
- 1:36Speaker 1: I couldn't think of anything.
- 1:37Speaker 4: No.
- 1:38Speaker 1: But then today I've just been a bit like, so
- 1:40Speaker 1: now that I'm here, I'm just like, fuck, I'll have
- 1:41Speaker 1: a Coke, man.
- 1:42Speaker 5: Yeah, man, yeah.
- 1:42Speaker 3: So I got to that with, because I do a
- 1:44Speaker 3: lot of that. Sort of it's been better this year.
- 1:48Speaker 3: And you just get to a point where being tired
- 1:50Speaker 3: just becomes your normal.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Yes, very much so.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Which is really good. It's a great place to get
- 1:54Speaker 3: to when you eventually get to that. It just becomes
- 1:56Speaker 3: your normal. I'm not tired anymore. This is just how
- 1:59Speaker 3: I feel. This is good. So you're awake all night
- 2:02Speaker 3: and then you just work all day. Then you have
- 2:04Speaker 3: a shit sleep and then you get up again. So
- 2:06Speaker 3: on and so forth.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Did you see these massive sacks under my eyes there, Keezy?
- 2:11Speaker 4: I've been doing that three or four years. Just, I mean,
- 2:15Speaker 4: you've got legit things to worry about.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Jase invents things.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I just invent stuff.
- 2:20Speaker 4: Yeah, right. But having said that, I've also had some
- 2:22Speaker 4: very legit things to worry about, but I do invent stuff.
- 2:28Speaker 3: You've forgotten about that stuff.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Oh, that's right. Your wife's leaving you.
- 2:35Speaker 2: That's the least of my problems.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Yeah, and on the downside.
- 2:40Speaker 1: That's a blip on the radar for you.
- 2:42Speaker 2: Yeah, man.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:44Speaker 4: No, I mean, I don't know about you guys, but
- 2:47Speaker 4: I wake up every morning and I'm like, oh, fuck.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Here we go again.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 2:52Speaker 3: I absolutely wake up and I'm fucking fizzing. The only
- 2:55Speaker 3: thing I'm not super thrilled about is last night was
- 2:59Speaker 3: good because I went home and I had a bath.
- 3:02Speaker 3: And I listened to This Warrior's Life. I watched it
- 3:04Speaker 3: on This Warrior's Life podcast on YouTube in the bath.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Had a soak there, Keezy. Straight to bed. Lights out
- 3:11Speaker 3: at 8 o'clock.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Wow.
- 3:12Speaker 3: And then my wife, because my wife can't handle any
- 3:15Speaker 3: light coming into the room, so she puts her arm
- 3:17Speaker 3: over her eyes.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Yes.
- 3:19Speaker 3: And then her arm slips off her face and she
- 3:23Speaker 3: elbows me. So I'm on her right. She always uses
- 3:26Speaker 3: her right arm to cover her eyes. Never her left.
- 3:30Speaker 3: her right so just elbow me put it back up
- 3:33Speaker 3: elbow me put it back up you can see the
- 3:35Speaker 3: pattern here it's just one of those things where i'm
- 3:37Speaker 3: just like she should get an eye mask 100 and
- 3:39Speaker 3: she's got two doesn't like doesn't wear them no she
- 3:42Speaker 3: likes them she just doesn't wear them yeah you know
- 3:45Speaker 3: because i'm sleeping like a baby over there anyway yeah.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Do you know what would fix uh i reckon you
- 3:50Speaker 1: guys should have bunk beds.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Yeah, it does feel like.
- 3:54Speaker 3: My daughter's got a bunk.
- 3:55Speaker 1: So swap that out and give her the double.
- 3:57Speaker 4: It's getting to that point, you know, where you have
- 4:00Speaker 4: your single beds with your ornaments in between.
- 4:03Speaker 3: You know?
- 4:04Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 4:05Speaker 1: Matching quilted beds.
- 4:05Speaker 4: What my wife does, she doesn't bash me. But she
- 4:09Speaker 4: slowly slides down the bed. And so I'm, you know.
- 4:14Speaker 3: She's trying to slide out.
- 4:15Speaker 2: And I'm trying to get my arm around and nestle
- 4:18Speaker 2: into the buttock area.
- 4:19Speaker 3: And she doesn't want that.
- 4:20Speaker 2: And she's just sliding further down the bed.
- 4:23Speaker 3: But that's what got her into this problem in the
- 4:25Speaker 3: first place is you doing that.
- 4:27Speaker 2: What, trying to settle into it?
- 4:29Speaker 3: Not trying to, successfully doing that.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Into her buttocks. So you. She'd be fuming if she
- 4:34Speaker 2: heard this.
- 4:35Speaker 1: So she slowly makes her way down and out of
- 4:37Speaker 1: the bed.
- 4:38Speaker 2: No, not out of the bed.
- 4:40Speaker 3: She's got a bag packed by the door. And I'm like.
- 4:43Speaker 4: I'll wake up at like three in the morning and
- 4:45Speaker 4: I'll put my, oh, oh, she's not. And she's way
- 4:47Speaker 4: down the bed. And I'll go, hey, hey.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Where are you going? Get back.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Whereas you grab all the blankets and turn it into
- 4:56Speaker 1: a big pretzel.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Yes.
- 4:59Speaker 1: The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 5:04Speaker 5: Oh, g'day, Matt.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Oh, hi, mate, yeah.
- 5:07Speaker 5: Look, if you want the chance to win all our
- 5:09Speaker 5: on-air competitions and stuff and get amongst the live conversation,
- 5:15Speaker 5: tune in to the Hauraki Big Show, four to seven
- 5:18Speaker 5: weekdays on Radio Hauraki and iHeartRadio.
- 5:23Speaker 1: The Hauraki Big Show podcast.
- 5:25Speaker 4: What I do is I get sweaty thighs. So I
- 5:28Speaker 4: like cool duvet and sheets.
- 5:31Speaker 3: So even in the summer, in the winter you get that?
- 5:33Speaker 4: No, I don't really, but it's a comfort thing. And
- 5:35Speaker 4: I put it between my thighs, right, and I clamp it.
- 5:38Speaker 3: What do you do with your massive nutsack?
- 5:40Speaker 2: And then I roll over.
- 5:43Speaker 4: And as I'm doing that, because I've clamped the duvet
- 5:45Speaker 4: between my thighs, I pull the duvet with me.
- 5:49Speaker 3: Right.
- 5:49Speaker 4: And I'll toss and turn all night. And so I
- 5:52Speaker 4: end up like a caterpillar in a cocoon. And my
- 5:57Speaker 4: wife has a corner of it. You haven't answered my
- 6:00Speaker 4: question about the nutsack.
- 6:02Speaker 3: Do you push your balls out to sit on top
- 6:04Speaker 3: of your thighs or are they tucked in between your thighs?
- 6:06Speaker 4: Well, they're in my undies, so they're not really doing anything.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't go nude like you guys.
- 6:13Speaker 3: That's disgusting.
- 6:14Speaker 1: You have to go nude, man, otherwise you're wearing your
- 6:16Speaker 1: entire life. You've got a waistband around your midriff.
- 6:18Speaker 3: You've got to let it breathe.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Let it breathe, man.
- 6:21Speaker 3: You're choking it out, man.
- 6:22Speaker 1: You're choking it out, bro. Brother.
- 6:26Speaker 2: I don't know that my wife would be stoked if
- 6:28Speaker 2: I was nude in bed. Really?
- 6:31Speaker 1: My wife wouldn't give a shit because we're married and
- 6:33Speaker 1: she doesn't mind me being nude.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Yes, it disgusts her.
- 6:36Speaker 2: It is just how it is.
- 6:38Speaker 1: She loves it, man.
- 6:40Speaker 3: I find that interesting because for.
- 6:44Speaker 4: Someone that doesn't like being nude in front of everyone,
- 6:47Speaker 4: you'll kick your kid off. What?
- 6:50Speaker 3: Me?
- 6:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, you're nude in bed.
- 6:52Speaker 1: What do you mean? Of course I don't like being
- 6:54Speaker 1: naked in front of everyone. Who likes being naked in.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Front of everyone?
- 6:58Speaker 2: I can see you. I can see you. Through the window.
- 7:01Speaker 3: He can see you through the window.
- 7:02Speaker 4: If I didn't know that, I would see you as
- 7:04Speaker 4: a full-press pyjama man.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Yep. You know what I mean?
- 7:07Speaker 4: I agree.
- 7:08Speaker 2: You know, probably buttoned up.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Long sleeves. Long sleeves. It's got a pocket on it,
- 7:14Speaker 3: probably monogrammed.
- 7:15Speaker 4: Yes.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Little handkerchief folded up in there.
- 7:18Speaker 3: You've got slippers.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Slippers by the side of the bed.
- 7:20Speaker 4: A pipe.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Yeah, a pipe.
- 7:22Speaker 3: But you just blow bubbles out of it.
- 7:24Speaker 4: And you'll be in the lounge like, doosh, doosh, doosh, doosh,
- 7:26Speaker 4: playing your game, dressed like that.
- 7:28Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:29Speaker 2: And your wife will be like, are you coming to bed?
- 7:31Speaker 2: And you'll be like, in a moment, darling.
- 7:35Speaker 1: That's not my fault.
- 7:36Speaker 4: I'll just finish my glass of sherry.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Port, actually, Jase.
- 7:40Speaker 4: Port.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Port.
- 7:41Speaker 1: Penfolds, my favourite.
- 7:42Speaker 2: God, I haven't had port in a long, long time.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Well, I hope you're ready to have it again.
- 7:47Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 7:50Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 7:50Speaker 1: As part of my come dine with me, we're going
- 7:52Speaker 1: to send all the wives to bed.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Simply must.
- 7:54Speaker 1: And then have a small glass of port and play
- 7:56Speaker 1: PlayStation together.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Circle jerk. Is that the name of the game you're
- 7:59Speaker 3: playing at the moment?
- 8:00Speaker 2: Doosh, doosh, doosh. Jerk, jerk.
- 8:03Speaker 3: Doosh, doosh.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Do you not do the hand movement?
- 8:06Speaker 3: It's a double joystick.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Two joysticks, a couple of joysticks. Oh, it's funny stuff, guys. Oh,
- 8:15Speaker 1: it's great stuff.
- 8:18Speaker 2: We're doing breakfast tomorrow, by the way. So I want
- 8:22Speaker 2: you to realise that.
- 8:23Speaker 4: We're going to go straight from here, straight to bed,
- 8:26Speaker 4: sleep for two hours, get up and back into it.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Well, it's good, isn't it? I always enjoy the first
- 8:32Speaker 3: hour of breakfast because old Keezy takes about an hour
- 8:35Speaker 3: to wake up.
- 8:35Speaker 2: He does.
- 8:36Speaker 3: And so you can just sort of have your fun
- 8:38Speaker 3: with him.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Yeah, you can.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Yeah, just have your way with him.
- 8:42Speaker 3: It's fine.
- 8:42Speaker 1: What I actually don't mind is when I come in
- 8:45Speaker 1: is you guys just are super chill.
- 8:47Speaker 2: I'm always chill in the morning, man.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Being good fellas about it.
- 8:50Speaker 2: I'm depressed in the morning.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Why do you wake up in the morning and go, oh, fuck.
- 8:56Speaker 1: You've got this beautiful apartment, beautiful wife, lovely family, great job.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it's the job.
- 9:02Speaker 1: You're probably going to have hot pot at some stage
- 9:03Speaker 1: during the day, but you still wake up going.
- 9:06Speaker 2: I don't know what it is.
- 9:08Speaker 4: Apparently, if I was watching this thing, it's low cortisol.
- 9:12Speaker 2: I'm burning all my cortisol up.
- 9:13Speaker 1: How do you get cortisol?
- 9:14Speaker 2: I don't know, but it's.
- 9:19Speaker 4: Something in the system where you're constantly in anxiety mode
- 9:24Speaker 4: and you're burning.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Shit up all the time. And so you wake up.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Just like, ah.
- 9:30Speaker 3: Really?
- 9:30Speaker 1: Even in your sleep you're like that?
- 9:32Speaker 2: But then I'll have a coffee. Is that true? You're
- 9:34Speaker 2: heightening it. Yeah, too much. Yeah, too much cortisol.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Here you go. Ways to support a healthy cortisol rhythm. Exercise.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I do that. I walk all over the place.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Moderate to high intensity physical activity.
- 9:47Speaker 4: No.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Get morning sunlight. Step outside. View natural light within an
- 9:51Speaker 1: hour of waking up.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Where did I get that shit from? Where do they
- 9:57Speaker 3: get that bullshit?
- 9:58Speaker 5: I don't know, man.
- 9:58Speaker 3: That's a new thing, that.
- 9:59Speaker 2: That's just telling me to get some D.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Vitamin D, 100%. Stay hydrated.
- 10:04Speaker 3: That makes sense.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Drink a glass of water right after waking up.
- 10:06Speaker 3: This is a real thing.
- 10:07Speaker 1: When you wake up, have a big glass of water.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Don't have a coffee for an hour.
- 10:12Speaker 3: I definitely have a coffee, but I start with a
- 10:14Speaker 3: glass of water.
- 10:15Speaker 4: Same.
- 10:15Speaker 1: But don't have a coffee for an hour and you'll
- 10:17Speaker 1: feel way better.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Nah, fuck off.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Yeah, fucking do what I want.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Whoa, whoa. And eating a balanced meal. So, you know,
- 10:24Speaker 1: no hot pots, that.
- 10:25Speaker 4: Sort of stuff.
- 10:26Speaker 2: I don't eat until about at least midday.
- 10:30Speaker 1: And what are you eating?
- 10:31Speaker 3: Go on, say it.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Baked beans today.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Come on, man.
- 10:35Speaker 4: Some chopped up bacon, a bit of grated pepper. Some chilli.
- 10:39Speaker 4: I put in my beans and bacon.
- 10:41Speaker 3: What's that? Hand motion.
- 10:42Speaker 2: That's me chopping chillies.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Doesn't look like it. I had a... We have a loaf,
- 10:48Speaker 3: a sourdough loaf.
- 10:49Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 10:50Speaker 3: Chopped a little bit off that, Keezy. Stick it in
- 10:52Speaker 3: the toaster there. A little bit of butter, a little
- 10:54Speaker 3: bit of avocado. Sardines. My wife started getting into the sardines.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 10:59Speaker 3: But not the cheap version. These different ones in a
- 11:01Speaker 3: round can.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Oh, the fancy ones.
- 11:02Speaker 3: Not the ones with a key.
- 11:04Speaker 1: And they're all wearing top hats.
- 11:05Speaker 3: They've got top hats on. That's it. All the sardines
- 11:07Speaker 3: are in top hats.
- 11:08Speaker 4: Nice.
- 11:08Speaker 3: We've got canes, and they're swirling them around. Very nice.
- 11:12Speaker 2: I haven't had a sardine in years.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Sardines and that other shit. Kimchi. Kimchi. I say it
- 11:19Speaker 3: to her. I say it to her. I say it
- 11:20Speaker 3: to her. I'm going to be popular in the office.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Kimchi rules, man. Well, you'd be ripping ass, but.
- 11:25Speaker 3: No, I meant my breath. And then she goes, oh, yeah,
- 11:27Speaker 3: it does reek, and that was that.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Did you have all those on the one piece of bread?
- 11:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Oh, God, how.
- 11:34Speaker 3: It was fucking nice, man.
- 11:35Speaker 5: Hey.
- 11:36Speaker 1: This is a big show, four to seven weekdays.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Better than what that shit you had.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Radio Hodaki.
- 11:40Speaker 2: I had baked beans.
- 11:41Speaker 3: Yeah, fucking shit.
- 11:43Speaker 2: I fried off some bacon, chipped the beans in there, pepper,
- 11:47Speaker 2: white toast.
- 11:48Speaker 1: I love beans. I would rather eat his.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Because I don't want to eat fish.
- 11:51Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, because you don't like fish, which is
- 11:53Speaker 3: why you're going to Japan, you goose.
- 11:54Speaker 1: I'm going to Japan to eat fish.
- 11:56Speaker 4: It's funny that you mention sardines, because I used to
- 11:59Speaker 4: eat them all the time.
- 12:00Speaker 2: So did my wife. She loved them.
- 12:01Speaker 3: They're fucking good, man. These ones are really good. They're
- 12:03Speaker 3: a different sort of a thing.
- 12:04Speaker 1: I saw, Jase, you were holding a sardine.
- 12:06Speaker 3: It was massive.
- 12:08Speaker 1: It was like one of those photos of a guy with, like,
- 12:09Speaker 1: a prize-winning fish. Hey, listen to the big show. Is
- 12:14Speaker 1: that the best you've got there?
- 12:15Speaker 2: Yeah, it's all I've got.
