  and the orbital flight. Test.

  So they've been building this thing for years and they've been
• 0:42
  on the cusp of possibly launching the Starship and 2021
• 0:47
  another time in 2022. And now we're here, 20 23 March,
• 0:53
  April 5th. We're recording this and
• 0:56
  possibly on April 10th was the initial due date for a potential
• 1:01
  launch of Starship. But there's been a lot of
• 1:03
  activity. For the orbital flight test down
• 1:07
  a Starbase recently. And we're going to get into a
• 1:09
  little bit of that. And what do you think?
• 1:12
  What's going on down there? It's ramp it up.
• 1:14
  It must be so exciting to be in spacex's offices.
• 1:18
  These days whether you're in California or in Texas, it be
• 1:21
  amazing to be going through all the last-minute checks and
• 1:25
  triple-checking quadruple checking every valve.
• 1:27
  And every little thing that goes into this raucous just to make
• 1:30
  sure that everything's going to be okay.
• 1:33
  We're just over two years past SN. 11s fatal crash above the
• 1:38
  loan. They Landing Pad 2 years is long
• 1:40
  time. Let's get this thing going.

  Yeah, I totally agree with you. It's got to be it's going to be
• 1:45
  a spectacle and is Ilan said, it's going to be excitement
• 1:49
  guaranteed so whether it makes it off the pad and clears, the
• 1:52
  tower that's going to be incredible but there's in like
• 1:56
  there's been so much work done from when I was down there like
• 2:00
  in 2021. Like the late stages of 2021
• 2:03
  through 2022 early where everything was Bare Bones and we
• 2:06
  were expecting a launch to now where there's cladding around
• 2:10
  the launch Mount this. Of cladding.
• 2:12
  Like you can't even see any of the pipe works anymore.
• 2:15
  Everything's protect has been interesting to watch the
• 2:17
  evolution of the local. Lodge Mount was all open as you
• 2:20
  say and they were just six legs holding this thing up in the
• 2:23
  air. And since they started doing
• 2:25
  static fires on top of that, they've started to add more
• 2:28
  protection to the legs and more structure to the legs.
• 2:31
  And now, we've got cladding around the outside.
• 2:33
  I think that the fire from these engines is going to do more
• 2:36
  damage than they originally thought it would.
• 2:38
  So they're really trying to beef that up.
• 2:41
  Yeah. And by so alone.
• 2:45
  Okay. So we saw from the Artemis 1
• 2:47
  launch to that there was so much damage to the mobile launch
• 2:52
  Tower from that rocket and that was designed by Engineers to
• 2:58
  withstand that blow and it's like there's a trench under that
• 3:02
  to deflect the Heat and there's a water Deluge system.
• 3:04
  That is things main thing that this is missing for sure.
• 3:07
  Yeah. And there's little sprinklers
• 3:10
  like little bird feeder sprinklers down there at Boca
• 3:13
  Chica at Starbase And yeah, the damage could be substantial for
• 3:18
  the initial launch. So that's the one thing that
• 3:21
  I've always wondered about with SpaceX.
• 3:23
  Certainly, they don't have a flame diversion trench, which is
• 3:26
  something and the reasoning for it is, is valid, I guess.
• 3:30
  And there's a very high water table where they are and they
• 3:33
  think that the height that they've got it at is enough, but
• 3:36
  the Deluge system, they have seems very underpowered to me.
• 3:41
  Even with the flame diversion trench in Florida, the amount of
• 3:45
  water that pours into their during the launch is incredible.
• 3:49
  And we just don't seem to have that down in Texas.
• 3:53
  They do have the pipes. It seems like they brought the
• 3:56
  water Deluge system to Boca, Chica to Starbase, but they
• 4:00
  haven't hooked it up yet. So either that wasn't some sort
• 4:03
  of water Deluge system, or maybe they brought the things over
• 4:06
  there to do the water Deluge system and then they figured
• 4:09
  that it couldn't work. For some reason, the engineers
• 4:12
  saw the equipment firsthand and thought it wouldn't work for
• 4:15
  some reason and they just were just like we can't do this here.
• 4:19
  We still have to launch this thing because we still have to
• 4:21
  do an orbital flight test. But what's going to what's going
• 4:24
  to happen when they do launch this?
• 4:26
  And right now, they're at a point.
• 4:27
  They just stacked up a ship 24 on top of booster 7.
• 4:31
  So they have a full stack of the booster and the rocket and the
• 4:35
  Earth. Sorry in the upper stage.
• 4:37
  Ready to go, excuse me, and all signs pointed to a launch around
• 4:43
  the 10th or 11th, which we know now is probably not going to
• 4:46
  happen more than likely not going to happen.
• 4:49
  But it doesn't seem like. There's any wiggle room here.
• 4:54
  Like they have to get everything ready to go for this launch and
• 4:56
  I don't think they're going to wait a couple mods on but this
• 4:58
  Deluge like, yeah, we're done. Well, new things being added.
• 5:01
  Yeah, away. There's nothing.
• 5:03
  Yeah. New going to be added to this
• 5:04
  system of this point. They've got it to a point where
• 5:06
  everything works as far as I can tell.
• 5:08
  And as far as they could trip that a stack.
• 5:09
  But so yeah, they're not going to be adding any new systems to
• 5:13
  what they've got down there at this point is too late in the
• 5:16
  end, the run here they're just going to have to see how the
• 5:19
  orbital launch Mount handles this in the end.
• 5:22
  And see what kind of damage is done afterwards.
• 5:24
  There's still they are the object to the first object of
• 5:28
  this launch is to get past the tower without blowing up.
• 5:31
  We could see a very damaged Tower at the end of this.
• 5:33
  If nothing is something goes horribly wrong.
• 5:35
  I guess that they're expecting some damage to.
• 5:37
  Yeah. I think they're expecting some
• 5:39
  damage but I in the other thing is with that damage, like how
• 5:44
  substantial will that be? Will they be set back, three,
• 5:46
  four months and they kind of they know what's going to happen
• 5:49
  more than likely going to happen to these systems.
• 5:52
  So they probably figure that into their next builds.
• 5:56
  If something happens to the orbital launch Mount, they
• 5:59
  already have one. It Kennedy Space Center that
• 6:01
  they're working on, that should be done within a year.
• 6:05
  So if it's going to take six months to a year to build this
• 6:08
  one back up or still continued working here, but the Kennedy
• 6:11
  Space Center one, but keep building that over there as
• 6:13
  well, because they need more than one place to to launch
• 6:17
  these issues. And I don't think that they're
• 6:19
  very worried about the damage. Which I know that, you know,
• 6:22
  there's going to be some damage, that's why we're seeing all this
• 6:24
  extra cladding, put on. They believe that there's going
• 6:26
  to be potential for damage is there.
• 6:29
  But remember they want to launch several of these this year from
• 6:31
  Texas? So I don't think that they're
• 6:33
  going to build in a six-month rebuild schedule, unless
• 6:37
  something really bad happens unless that like the tower gets
• 6:40
  really damaged or something along those lines.
• 6:43
  So I think they're expecting some damage but it's probably
• 6:46
  something that can be replaced within a month.
• 6:50
  I hope so. With the hundred I'm assuming
• 6:52
  it's hundreds of yards of wiring cables and pipes, and things
• 6:56
  like that. It would, if they just
• 6:58
  obliterated that orbital flight, much orbital mount.

  It would be, it would take a long time to fix it.
• 7:05
  Absolutely guessing if it goes, like, completely bad completely
• 7:09
  and everything gets fried, all the pipes, all the wires
• 7:11
  everything, but they have schematics, but it's going to
• 7:13
  take it would take months to rebuild everything, but that's
• 7:16
  why that cladding, is there, the protection.
• 7:18
  So that doesn't Happen. Hopefully and yeah, everything
• 7:22
  is everything, that's not underneath that.
• 7:24
  Cladding is expected to get fire blowing on it from 33 engines.
• 7:28
  Yeah, anise and it should be able to last and withstand that,
• 7:32
  I think that there's, it's just, as you say, those, an insulated
• 7:35
  wire behind that cladding, that's not behind a metal
• 7:38
  shield. That's what they're worried
• 7:39
  about. And but that's also some of the
• 7:41
  stuff that's easiest to replace as well.
• 7:44
  They have a team of professionals down there that
• 7:47
  can do it. The ability of the orbital
• 7:48
  launch Mount is that Nothing's underneath that cladding.
• 7:51
  Everything's open. It has a lot of space behind
• 7:53
  there to work in everything. Kind there's nothing sort of.
• 7:55
  I'm sure there's some stuff on top of each other, but not much
• 7:59
  everything's attached to the inside of that.

  Launch Mount one deep if you will.
• 8:03
  So that's all it accessible. Looks like it to me.

  Anyway. Yeah, seems that there's plenty
• 8:10
  of room to fix things up. Yeah, it would just take the
• 8:14
  extra effort to get the pipes rebuilt and the wires rewired
• 8:18
  and things like that. But I don't want to be all doom
• 8:20
  and gloom on this thing because it's going to be at a phenomenal
• 8:23
  launch and there's the FAA. Safety evaluation seems to be
• 8:28
  complete at this point, but there's 11 legal review, I
• 8:33
  think, is under way in, there's an environment Irwin about
• 8:36
  environmental issues To close out I heard of.
• 8:39
  Yeah. And I don't know what that is.
• 8:40
  I haven't seen what exactly that is.
• 8:42
  So I don't know how long that's going to take to close out or,
• 8:46
  you know, what they need to do. So we can only speculate of when
• 8:50
  the next time they could fly this, or when the first time I
• 8:53
  could be to fly this thing. Yeah, I think we'll hear in the
• 8:56
  next two days. It's Wednesday today.

  I think, by Friday, I think we'll have that launched license

  in hand. I think so too.

  I think it'll happen, we SpaceX. Yeah, yeah, us us fans of space.

  thing. Eric Berger said, for what it's

  worth SpaceX has told NASA, it's targeting April 10th with backup
• 9:15
  days of April 11th and 12th for the Starship orbital flight
• 9:18
  test. None of this is official without
• 9:20
  a launch license and that the usual caveats, apply.

  Who knew when hop applied to more than Easter Bunnies.

  But then an FAA, spokesperson said the April 10th dates
• 9:32
  appearance on the agency's plan advisory should not be
• 9:37
  interpreted. An indicator that a
• 9:39
  determination which you license has been made or as forthcoming,
• 9:43
  but they also said that before the other launch licenses for
• 9:48
  the experimental craft, the starships that launched and
• 9:51
  landed, they were saying those kind of things and it just
• 9:55
  happens. Somebody's going to kiss later

  cards, very close to the chest. Yeah.

  Yeah. They don't want to give anything

  away or release any information that people could actually use
• 10:03
  and run with with hold on to their power, as long as
• 10:05
  possible. Yeah, yeah.

  But that lady. They've got to make sure

  everything's safe and ready to go.

  Yeah, yeah. Teams across and the dyes eyes

  darted. Yeah, and they have a space

  operations, warning for a Starship, and the 10th and the

  11th or 12th. It seems like it's not going to

  be then, but at least we know it's coming really soon.

  And there was a, what is the, what's the Airborne Science

  Program beef, owb 57 plane, slated for the 10th and 11th do

  imaging for it. Yeah and I had a helicopter too.

  It's a SpaceX as well last week. Yeah, that's cool.

  Yeah, they're ready. They brought their drones in the

  sky and the human operated drone as well now.

  Yeah. So they're ready to go with.

  They're getting ready. Shouldn't say they're ready to

  They're showing every indication that something really is on the
• 10:55
  horizon, real fast real fast. Yep.

  It's important to note that Sunday is Easter, as well.

  For a lot of the people that work at SpaceX, they probably

  won't be working on Sunday. So having a flight on Monday is,

  that's a long shot from Um that perspective?

  Yeah, because people are going to be off unless SpaceX makes

  them work, which is highly doubtful.

  They're not in a hurry here other than needs to get things

  up and going, but they're not on a daily day.

  They're getting ready for the lunar lander missions.

  And I'm getting ready for a star like missions and that takes

  years. Another indicator that I found

  that they're not going to launch on the 10th.

  Is the road closure for the 10th from Cameron County.

  Is a non flight, testing activities on April, 10th

  between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. and it also alternative dates of the

  11th and the 12th. So it seems not going to fly in

  the 10th because that camera County, they would say

  spaceflight activities and they'd be like, get out of here.

  people are saying the 17th or some rumors that it's getting

  Now, they're moving on their building ship 30 or something

  like this. At this point, they've changed a

  lot of things already. These are iterative rockets and

  testing that they have already changed things that they have.

  We don't know what they've changed specifically.

  But these are not the same Rockets are building today.

  cryo test on booster 7 to make sure that all the plumbing of

  the ground systems worked in the plumbing.

  Being inside. Booster 7 is still functional

  before they stacked ship. 24, on top of it.

  So that seems to be good. It was a full test.

  Yeah, 100% full. Yeah, yeah.

  It's nice to see these rock is not implode or explode, when the

  doing these tests anymore. Remember back, then the original

  Original versions of Starship. It would just explode for no

  reason. Amazing.

  Nothing in pieces would fly for Miles like this shrapnel of like

  steel would fly for Miles. The good ones that the ones my

  favorite of the implosions. You just, it's so cold inside

  that the exterior are just squeezes it.

  It is spectacular. If anything you know this

  They're sending on a Starship to by the way I mean later on in

  that's incredible. Like a private company that

  builds private Rovers is going on a private rocket on a private

  mission to the moon in the company that's building.

  It was it called astrolabe. I've saw the system and I know

  we're getting Little bit off topic here from Starship, but

  this is it's a really cool system and it's building on the
• 17:19
  technology of old Moon Rovers and like the way that they got
• 17:22
  the data from the original Moon missions the building on that.
• 17:26
  But they're also using this Rover and the Starship which is
• 17:30
  lunar Starship version to build colonies on the moon for NASA if
• 17:35
  they get the government contract.
• 17:38
  But if they don't, they have other private companies that
• 17:40
  will kind of rideshare. On this Rover and you'll be able
• 17:44
  to do scientific experiments on it.
• 17:45
  I thought it was a pretty cool kind of sidebar about what the
• 17:48
  Starship is going to be capable of in the future.
• 17:50
  Yeah, it's really cool, it's really good.

  And it's one of the reasons that the lunar Starship won the
• 17:57
  competition, to be the lunar base.

  As it were, there's just so much more space for activities inside
• 18:02
  this thing. You can fit a Rover in there as
• 18:05
  well as all the astronauts that you want to send, you can fit
• 18:08
  all kinds of things inside. This Starship, that you wouldn't
• 18:11
  be able to fit in the other. Competition, that was out there.

  Yeah. It's some of their promotional
• 18:18
  videos that they show shows tons of cargo being lowered down from
• 18:23
  the Starship, which we know that's, it's capable of doing
• 18:25
  that but then also couple astronauts pop out of the thing
• 18:29
  and get on the Rover and drive over to the moon base that these
• 18:33
  Rovers automatically created autonomously while the
• 18:38
  astronauts were inside like safely inside of the Starship.

  So, absolutely. So this really watch launch CH
• 18:45
  is commercially. Watched it.

  We're going off topic again here.

  We're back, we're on the moon now, all of a sudden.

  Yeah, and even launch this thing around there already, but I
• 18:51
  watched a video recently about a 3D home printing company down
• 18:57
  in. I believe it was Arizona but
• 18:59
  they're building a hundred homes with these 3D printers, have
• 19:02
  seven gigantic 3D printers that are printing, I don't know,
• 19:06
  1,500 2,000 square foot homes, but using this sort of fast
• 19:10
  drying concrete, w-wow. There they make on site and it
• 19:14
  just Everything's everything that you're looking at screams
• 19:18
  Moon Mars, right? This is how they're going to
• 19:21
  build this stuff has is how it's what it's going to look like and
• 19:24
  they're really quite beautiful. They leave the interior and
• 19:27
  exterior as the sort of formed concrete that's the texture of
• 19:31
  the interior walls. So accept those sort of 2 cm
• 19:34
  High concrete layer. I guess as the 3D printer goes
• 19:37
  across and they just got layer it up.
• 19:39
  So it's all imperfect. It's all sort of very organic
• 19:43
  and it's beautiful. And Exactly how they're going to
• 19:45
  do this on the moon as well as Mars.

  Is this how we're going to get our bases built is using this
• 19:52
  technology for sure? Yeah, I think so too.

  And Starship will be able to transport those things because
• 19:58
  it's such a massive rocket that will be able to transport those
• 20:01
  3D printers to the Moon surface. Which so it seems incredible to
• 20:06
  me that this is going to become a thing.

  And it's going to happen because of this launch within the next.

  I'm going to say 30 days just because You never know what's
• 20:15
  going to happen with these launches.

  We went from the tenth of the 70th and never the 10th is

  Edward, maybe you never know because postponements you could

  scrub, a launch something can happen.

  There's automated systems that could stop a launch within what
• 20:29
  was it? There was a rocket forgot maybe

  was it rocket lab. I can't remember who it was but

  they just did a scrub it 0.00. And it was like milliseconds

  before the launch because they found something wrong with the
• 20:41
  rocket and that could happen with Starship to like They have
• 20:44
  those same systems in place where it could sum it might not
• 20:49
  launch but when it does it's going to be a beautiful thing
• 20:53
  and the blister. So nice to be talking about days
• 20:56
  or weeks rather than I don't know when, or perhaps even here
• 21:00
  yet, it's so exciting. And it doesn't matter what day
• 21:02
  it actually launches for me, I just know what's going to happen
• 21:06
  and that's so exciting. Your yourself.

  You spent a year down in Texas, following this rocket and the

  system and this company and you didn't get to see this launch
• 21:14
  CH. It took an extra year and a half

  beyond what we thought it was going to be and it's a shame but
• 21:21
  that's the way things are but here we are.

  So just a quick reminder of what's going to happen during

  and land in the Pacific Ocean. And a naval in a naval base area

  and that will land in the water as well.

  So it's going to be significant launch for SpaceX to test their

  Landing thrusters as well. And not just the launch itself,

  but the landing of these, I circled a toaster.

  I certainly hope they do. They'll be happy just to get

  this ship into almost orbit as they're not intended to go all

  the way, all the way to orbit speed, but so be nice, just to

  for them, just to get it at that point and not recover any of

  these things or not test. Any, The Landing stuff that

  would be it would still be a huge win for them but I really

  hope they do try and try and do a soft landing on the ocean.

  With the booster as well as Starship if they get that far.

  But there's so many things that could go wrong that any of that

  issue a temporary injunction and he says SpaceX is very close to

  being ready. Technically they will make a

  this or need to step back for a few more days to review data

  ahead of the attempt, but barring legal action.

  it's anything like the last one, there could be a delay of months
