- Craig: Your first month of fantasy football could be absolutely terrible if you take the wrong guys in the draft. In fact, it could derail your entire season. Today we're taking a look at the guys that I can't draft enough of in my fantasy football drafts this season. Welcome back to the kitchen. Here on Fat Daddy Sports, I am Craig. If you're new here, drop a like, drop a comment, hit that subscribe button. And like I said, we are taking a look at guys that I can't stop drafting. I haven't had any of my official drafts yet this year, but in the mock drafts, these are the guys that I am loading up on every chance that I can. We're gonna look at a few running backs, a few wide receivers, tight ends, and a couple quarterbacks at the end, but mainly focusing on running backs and wide receivers, those are what you need the most of on your team. So let's jump into the running backs right now. The first running back that I cannot stop drafting is Chase Brown in Cincinnati. He is a guy that kind of flies under the radar a little bit. And when healthy, when Joe Burrow is healthy, when that offense is clicking on all cylinders, he is a top 10 running back, a set it and forget it running back one. He'll give up a little bit of work to Smaj Pirine, but really this is his job. He should have plenty of goal line work, plenty of receiving work. And he's a guy that can score from anywhere on the field. Chase Brown is somebody that I cannot stop drafting in that second round. He's currently going in the middle of the second round right now, right about running back 10. And I think, you know, if you get him at that running back 12 position, running back 10, I think he's gonna smash that ADP. He's easily a running a top eight running back. Somebody that I am definitely trying to scoop up as many times as I can. Another guy that ⁓ I have kind of switched gears on a little bit just because his ADP has slipped a little bit. He is now going in the middle of the third round as the running back 13, and that is Jeremiah Love in Arizona. Really, my only concern with Jeremiah Love was just that crowded backfield, Tyler Algier, James Conner. And while I do still think that Tyler Algier is going to steal some of that work and probably a lot of that work, I just think that. Things have kind of worked themselves out. It's ⁓ it's really a two man race there in Arizona. And they have a lot of draft capital in Jeremiah Love. That offense is gonna be better than maybe what people think. And Jeremiah Love can catch the ball. He's gonna get a lot of work in the passing game. And his ADP is right now. ⁓ when he was going in that second round, I was saying stay away at all cost. But now in that third round, I think he's a great pick. If you can get him as your RB two. I think that that's gonna pay off big time for you this season. The next guy on this list is another running back this time in Green Bay. He is going at that three, four turn, really in that early fourth, ⁓ is where I'm seeing him a lot. But I've had him in the in the late third a lot. Currently going as running back fifteen, and that is Josh Jacobs. The Packers running back. Obviously has that ⁓ off the field issue going on. They're Is still a chance that he could have a suspension. You gotta keep an eye on that before your draft. But as of right now, it's looking like he's probably going to be okay and not gonna face a suspension this year. And if that's the case, I think he is a locked in top twelve running back and going as a top fifteen running back. I think he's gonna smash that ADP. ⁓ a guy that was dominating early last year before the injury set him back for the year. And I think he's gonna have another big year this year. ⁓ He shouldn't lose a whole lot of work. He's going to get all of the red zone carries, and that has paid off big time for him in his time in Green Bay. They love to use him around the goal line. And touchdowns are gold in fantasy football. Josh Jacobs is going to have a ton of opportunities to score those touchdowns. I think if you get him as your running back, too, just like Jeremiah Love, I love starting my teams with Josh Jacobs there in that RB2 spot. Going a little bit later in drafts, ⁓ this is in the double digits rounds, and we're going to two guys that are under the radar right now. One is ⁓ well, they're both kind of climbing a little bit, but it is Jacori Krosky Merritt in Washington. I've kind of switched my tune on that a little bit. I I was more on the side of Rashad White at the beginning of training camp or before training camp started, but I really think that this is gonna be Bill's job. I think Rashad White's gonna come in, he's gonna get that third down work. ⁓ but I really think that they wanna use JCM in that run game. I think that last year he got so overhyped that his ⁓ what he produced on the field maybe didn't match up with that hype. And so maybe we had a little bit of a bad taste. But I think Washington really likes this kid. I think he showed things last year that he's got that talent, he's got that skill set, and I think they want to go forward with him this year. So I'm a little bit higher on him at the, you know, in my bench range, ⁓ probably like my ride running back four, running back five, somewhere like that. ⁓ and then a guy going right around that same time is Jonathan Brooks in Carolina. His ADP is starting to skyrocket a little bit. Hopefully, you have a draft before it skyrockets out of control. You can get him right now. I mean, if you wait on a mock draft with bots, you can get him a lot later. But in real drafts, I think in that. You know, eight-nine range is probably where you're gonna have to take him. I don't know if I'm comfortable with it or not. I think that I am. I I love the talent of Jonathan Brooks. Obviously, very highly touted coming out of college. Had the injuries, had another injury in in the pros, and we haven't seen him yet. He hasn't done it yet. But this is a Carolina offense that probably isn't gonna be very good. They've produced ⁓ a top running back just a few years ago with Chuba Hubbard. He was awesome. And even at the start of last year, Chuba had ⁓ a stretch of games where he was really, really good, ⁓ but then kind of fell off throughout the year. Now Chuba Hubbard dealing with that hamstring injury and they're saying it's a pretty serious one. They think that he'll be back ready to go at the beginning of the year, but who knows what's gonna end up happening there. ⁓ even if Chuba is there fully healthy, I do think that Brooks is gonna take this job by at the end, middle to end of October. I think Brooks is a great Canada to stash on your bench and just be patient with because over the course of the season, I think he's gonna run away with that job. And then going right after him is a guy going ⁓ maybe a round or two later, and that is Jordan Mason in Minnesota. This is a team that has changed their entire identity offensively, their entire scheme. They want to run the ball more, they need to run the ball more, they have just a dominant defense and they wanna control the game. Last year they got away from that a little bit and Kevin O'Connell has come out and publicly said, We are going to run the ball. Do I think that they're gonna do that with Aaron Jones? No. I think that they're gonna turn to the younger guy, Jordan Mason, who showed when he was in San Francisco that he could handle those RB1 duties. And really he's one of the top guys in efficiency metrics in the NFL. He's really dominated in his short time as a ⁓ Top running back. If they turn to him this year, I I think it's lookout. He could be a a weekly fourteen points a game type of guy, ⁓ somebody that would fit very, very good as your RB two. And if you're getting him in the double digit rounds, that is the definition of a league winner. We saw it last year. With a guy like Travis Han Jr., who you could get in like the ninth round, and he ended up being a top running back too. If you could get that kind of production out of Jordan Mason, out of JCM, out of Jonathan Brooks, those are the guys that are going to win you your league. It's not those guys that you draft in the first couple of rounds. Yeah, those guys are great, but you want to find that value late in the draft. And I think all three of those guys really fit that bill. Moving over to the wide receiver position, this is a guy that I've talked about a lot on this channel. I picked him in my mock drafts. But it is Amon Ra St. Brown for the Lions. You can get him at the back end of the first round. And really, he is a guy that consistently posts top five wide receiver numbers. If you're snagging him at the end of the first round, I feel like that's a steal. ⁓ I feel like there is a lot of guys at the beginning of that draft, and it has pushed a guy like Amon Ra down in the draft order. If I leave round one with him and then on the turn, I get a top running back. And I feel really, really good about the start of my draft. The next wide receiver is kind of at that start of wide receiver runs in the fourth round. ⁓ currently going as wide receiver 14, and that is Zay Flowers in Baltimore, a guy who I've also changed my tune on this offseason. I've never really been a huge Zay Flowers fan. He has very big games and then he has dud games. But he's recently gotten paid from Baltimore. He's clearly the wide receiver one option there in Baltimore. They have a new offensive coordinator who has publicly come out and said, we want to hunt big plays. You know, Declan Doyle, he is a guy that's going to want to light up the scoreboard with the guys that they have there in Baltimore. And I just think that there's a trust level between Lamar and Zay Flowers. When you look at the guys that are going around him, He's got a lot less questions than them, and he's on what should be a much better offense with a much better quarterback and playmaker in Lamar Jackson. I'm really starting to come around on Zay Flowers. Another guy going right around there at wide receiver 17, and it is a guy who is not on a good offense, but should see a bajillion targets, and that is Garrett Wilson in New York for the Jets. He, you know. has clearly never been on a good team with the Jets, but he was a top 10 wide receiver, almost a top five wide receiver last year before the injury that he had. He was playing awesome football for a very bad Jets team. I think that the same is probably going to be true this year, but he gets the quarterback Geno Smith, who's been in the league forever, should know how to get him the ball. And I just see them peppering him with a ton of targets week in and week out. I've talked about it a lot on this channel. Big, big, big fan of Garrett Wilson this year specifically, just because of where he goes in the draft. If you kind of kind of wait on wide receiver there in the first few rounds, load up on running backs and get Garrett Wilson as a wide receiver too. I really, really like that value this year specifically. Speaking of value, these are guys that you can get in that eight, nine round range. ⁓ and guys that are going around them are like DK Metcalf, Cortland Sutton, Michael Wilson, and Mikai Lemon. None of those guys really seem like they could be alphas for their team or really jump up into that top 12 wide receiver range. But a guy like Brian Thomas Jr. who has done it before, and a guy like Marv Harrison Jr. who should be able to do it, those are two guys that I really like to take in that round eight, round nine range. ⁓ when the draft kind of feels like It's a little bit of a dead zone in a lot of areas. I I usually look to turn to one of those two guys. I think one of them is due for a big year this year. BTJ obviously already had that breakout in his rookie year, finishing in the top ten before last year being a little bit more of a disappointment disappointing year. battled some injuries, battled some inconsistency issues. I think he starts connecting on the deep ball a little bit more with Trevor Lawrence this year. And then you go over to Arizona in a guy, Marvin Harrison Jr., who, I mean, was the next Jerry Rice coming out of college and just really hasn't lived up to that. He's gone through some different changes, some different quarterbacks, new head coach in Mike LaFleur, new quarterback out there, Jacoby Bursett. He he played with Brissett last year. And I know that there is a lot of hype about Michael Wilson last year, but when you really look at the two when they were on the field together with Jacob, Jacoby Brissett throwing them the football. Brissett and Marvin Harrison Jr. do have a connection there. I think that Marv is I don't want to say he's due for a breakout. I mean he is due for a breakout. And I don't want to guarantee anything for Marv, but I am a big supporter of Marvin Harrison Jr. this year. ⁓ I I think he's in a position where it's definitely a make or break type of deal. And we're gonna find out within the first month of the season if it's gonna happen or not for him and the Cardinals. Moving over to the tight end position, this is a guy that I've talked at great length about, and it is Tucker Kraft in Green Bay, a guy who was right up there with the top tight ends last year before his injury. And I think had he played the full season, we'd be talking about him in the range of Bowers and McBride. ⁓ at very least he would be in the discussion with Loveland and Warren. But right now he is going in that 7-8-9 range. I I've gotten him in round nine before. I usually try to get him in about the seventh round just before anybody else can get him. But I think he's due for a big year. ⁓ the thing that scares me a little bit is he has publicly come out and said that there's going to be a slow ramp up period for easing him back in. And so if If you don't get him for that first month of the year, it could be very, very tough sledding going forward. I do still think that he'll produce on a top twelve basis, even with that slow start. I don't think he needs a a full snap count to be out there and be productive. I think he could be on a limited basis and still produce. I think he's that good. And I think that they like to rotate around the pass catcher so much. So that is really my only concern with him. If you can wait. And get him in the eighth round, ninth round. I mean, I think that that could be an absolute league winner pick. If you do reach for him in the seventh, I think you're still going to be okay. I look for really, really big things from Tucker Kraft this year. And one more tight end that I have talked at length about, and that is Isaiah Likely in New York. Comes over from Baltimore. Big offseason acquisition comes over with Coach Harbaugh and really slots right into the tight end one position there for the Giants. Malik Neighbors. looking healthy, should be good to go week one, but there may be a little bit of a ramp up period there. And I could see them featuring likely a lot early in the season, that first month or two. I just think that there's a reason that he came over from Baltimore. Coach Harbaugh has said for years they've wanted to use him in Baltimore, but just with the guys around him, it just never really worked out. I think it's gonna be a different story this year for the Giants. They don't really want Jackson Dart running it as much. They don't want him running around as much. I could see a lot of dump off and across the middle throws to Isaiah Likely. And right now he is going in the double digit rounds. He's almost a forgotten about player. If you end up punting at the tight end position, you don't get one of those top four guys, five guys, and you punt at the position, he is a perfect late round flyer that you could snag. You could even end up pairing him with another late round guy and kind of rotate him on and off throughout the weeks. But I think Isaiah likely is going to have a big season. And then we are going to just kind of lump some quarterbacks together because this is ⁓ the deepest quarterback draft that I can remember. ⁓ you can absolutely wait until the double digit rounds and still snag a guy that is going to produce top ten numbers for you week in and week out. And so for me, I I personally like to wait at the quarterback position this year specifically. You can get a guy like Dak Prescott, Justin Herbert, Trevor Lawrence, Matt Stafford, Kyler Murray, even Patrick Mahomes, if you want to throw him in there coming off the injury. There's just so much value in those, you know, nine, ten, eleven, twelve, thirteen, fourteen round range. ⁓ a guy like Kyler Murray going in the 14th round right now just seems absolutely crazy considering what Kevin O'Connell has done historically with quarterbacks. He's got Justin Jefferson that he's throwing to, Jordan Addison, Juwan Jennings, TJ Hawkinson. I mean, that Vikings offense should be really good. And Kyler Murray obviously has the rushing upside. The fact that he's going in, you know, 12 plus round is absolutely mind blowing to me. So I strongly advise waiting on quarterback this year specifically. There's just so much value at the end of the draft. But go ahead and let me know down in the comments, guys, who are some guys that you are not leaving your draft without this year?
