- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Benn and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with her radio. This is the Almost Famous Podcast is
- 0:08Speaker 1: episode three of this season of the Bachelor. There's a
- 0:11Speaker 1: lot to break down, but before we do, Ashley, You're
- 0:15Speaker 1: spend a little time with the family. It's very sweet
- 0:19Speaker 1: us so tell all of our listeners just how great
- 0:21Speaker 1: of a husband you you have. You had asked, maybe
- 0:24Speaker 1: potentially for today off we were going to record uh
- 0:28Speaker 1: yesterday Monday evening. I could not do that. I was
- 0:31Speaker 1: flying back from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where I played in
- 0:35Speaker 1: a charity golf tournament alongside Sean Booth. I really still
- 0:39Speaker 1: can't believe the amount that you you fly and then
- 0:41Speaker 1: you return to this spot every week. Every week I'm here,
- 0:46Speaker 1: there you are and magically you're God. And now you're back.
- 0:48Speaker 1: I'm back and uh here here's a little shout out.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Before we started, I want to give a little backstory.
- 0:52Speaker 1: I did play in the Zack Johnson UH Foundation celebrity
- 0:56Speaker 1: golf tournament I talked about every year, but they helped
- 1:00Speaker 1: kids have a uh more fruitful education in the Cedar
- 1:04Speaker 1: Rapids area, the first class. So I've been a part
- 1:07Speaker 1: of this now for five years. The very first class
- 1:10Speaker 1: of people are graduating from high school from their program
- 1:13Speaker 1: this year. They're all thriving. It's a really incredible thing.
- 1:16Speaker 1: But here is the small, small nugget. Nobody really cares
- 1:19Speaker 1: about golf. I know that they're like another golf story. Holy,
- 1:25Speaker 1: but if you follow golf at all, you know that
- 1:27Speaker 1: on Sunday, Tony final one the rs M tournament in Minneapolis. Um,
- 1:35Speaker 1: he was committed to coming down to play in this
- 1:38Speaker 1: this golf tournament and Cedar Rapids. Now, obviously, if you win,
- 1:42Speaker 1: nobody there was gonna be upset or like mad at
- 1:45Speaker 1: him if he didn't come. He just won a big
- 1:47Speaker 1: golf tournament for millions of dollars um. But he got
- 1:52Speaker 1: on a plane that evening from Minneapolis flew to Cedar
- 1:55Speaker 1: Rapids to participate in this charity event. And so shout
- 1:57Speaker 1: out to Tony Finale for just being a good human
- 2:00Speaker 1: and doing and keeping his yes is yes and his
- 2:03Speaker 1: nose no. Um. It was it was inspiring to see that. Yeah,
- 2:09Speaker 1: that's right. Okay. So as I'm there at the golf tourament,
- 2:13Speaker 1: I'm getting text Ashley or a couple of days before that,
- 2:15Speaker 1: I guess Ashley was asking for potentially recording on Monday
- 2:18Speaker 1: because she's at home with her family and she was
- 2:21Speaker 1: hoping on Tuesday for her and Jared to kind of
- 2:23Speaker 1: get away and do a nice couple's day together. And
- 2:26Speaker 1: we all at the almost same as podcast said, yes,
- 2:28Speaker 1: go do that. That's important. You should take a couple's
- 2:31Speaker 1: day and enjoy the time with your husband. Well, actually
- 2:35Speaker 1: felt good about that. But right now, as you hand
- 2:39Speaker 1: me a cup of coffee that he just made for me,
- 2:41Speaker 1: let's see, he's a great dude. Yeah, yeah, he's he's
- 2:45Speaker 1: he's sweetie. He's sweetie. So your hair looks great. Okay,
- 2:49Speaker 1: continue ben he Ashley then texts us and say, you
- 2:54Speaker 1: know what, let's record on Tuesday because Jared did what
- 2:58Speaker 1: Ashley Pilson, Oh, he just wanted to hang out with
- 3:02Speaker 1: the family altogether. He's which doesn't mean that he doesn't
- 3:05Speaker 1: want to hang out as a couple, but he was like,
- 3:07Speaker 1: I never get to see your parents, so like I
- 3:10Speaker 1: want to like hang out with the whole family, And
- 3:12Speaker 1: it's like, what kind of man wants to hang out
- 3:14Speaker 1: with his in laws. It's super super super sweet instead
- 3:17Speaker 1: of going to Bush Gardens. Let's see, it is special
- 3:20Speaker 1: and I feel like I have that relationship. I enjoy
- 3:23Speaker 1: my in laws. Um, I don't see that changing. I
- 3:25Speaker 1: know that people say like that could change over time.
- 3:28Speaker 1: I just really enjoy being around them and they're really
- 3:30Speaker 1: good to Jessica and I And I think she would
- 3:32Speaker 1: feel the same way about my parents, but you'd have
- 3:34Speaker 1: to ask her. But it is it is a specials
- 3:39Speaker 1: a special thing when you're married and you enjoy your
- 3:41Speaker 1: your partner's family. Because if that isn't the case, it
- 3:45Speaker 1: gets really awkward, I would imagine, and really hard. I
- 3:47Speaker 1: can't imagine. It must be awful, Yeah, really hard. It's
- 3:52Speaker 1: very common, very common. In fact, a lot of people
- 3:55Speaker 1: warned me of that before I got married, and I
- 3:57Speaker 1: was like, yeah, I don't know if I'm going to
- 3:58Speaker 1: have that issue, And in fact, I think it's gonna
- 4:00Speaker 1: be the opposite. I think we're just gonna really enjoy
- 4:02Speaker 1: our times together. Uh So, kudos and Jared for being
- 4:06Speaker 1: a great husband but also just making the effort to
- 4:09Speaker 1: spend time with your family. So we're here on a Tuesday,
- 4:12Speaker 1: the day after The Bachelor aired. Uh, Ashley, we need
- 4:16Speaker 1: to break down this episode today. I feel like this
- 4:20Speaker 1: was a pivotal episode for the season. I feel like
- 4:23Speaker 1: this is a big but I'll start out by saying
- 4:29Speaker 1: as big of an episode as I think this will
- 4:31Speaker 1: be as we move forward, I found myself not as
- 4:35Speaker 1: engaged as maybe episode two. Uh. And let's talk about
- 4:41Speaker 1: why coming up right here after the break all right,
- 4:54Speaker 1: So Ashley, we're gonna start at the very beginning of
- 4:57Speaker 1: this episode breaking down on, um, the major points that
- 5:02Speaker 1: we feel like really should stand out. There's twenty one
- 5:05Speaker 1: guys now at the start of this episode, both bachelorettes.
- 5:10Speaker 1: You can tell are I guess I could tell or
- 5:15Speaker 1: I felt like I could tell they are starting to
- 5:18Speaker 1: get into rhythm of being the bachelorette. But this two
- 5:21Speaker 1: bachelorette thing felt uh more awkward than ever on this episode. Yeah.
- 5:28Speaker 1: I think we talked earlier this season about how there
- 5:32Speaker 1: was going to be definitely a time where the guys
- 5:35Speaker 1: were going to end up having the power and it
- 5:38Speaker 1: was going to feel like a little awkward and it
- 5:40Speaker 1: was going to feel like, oh, why do we do this?
- 5:43Speaker 1: But I have to say that, like, now that this
- 5:45Speaker 1: episode is over, now I think it should be smooth
- 5:47Speaker 1: sailing as far as like it feeling like there are
- 5:49Speaker 1: two separate seasons going on and there's not gonna be
- 5:52Speaker 1: any overlap, or at least that's what our hope is.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I think that was what the plan was. That was
- 5:58Speaker 1: my question to you, was you feel like, if we
- 6:01Speaker 1: go and we kind of jump to the end of
- 6:04Speaker 1: the episode, do you feel like, now that it's over
- 6:06Speaker 1: the rest of the season, this kind of dynamic of
- 6:10Speaker 1: the men having like the control and also the ability
- 6:14Speaker 1: to kind of be like, I don't know who I'm
- 6:15Speaker 1: in too yet? Is that done? Like, do you you
- 6:18Speaker 1: don't see that coming back right? M Yes, And now
- 6:23Speaker 1: I think yeah, I think that was the intention. I
- 6:26Speaker 1: think that's the hope. But I think it'll be kind
- 6:29Speaker 1: of crazy that amongst those I think there's like nineteen guys.
- 6:33Speaker 1: There was there a lesson there's definitely less than nineteen
- 6:36Speaker 1: because I think I think Gab he said she has nine,
- 6:40Speaker 1: and I think Rachel may have less. I don't know.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Sorry about the math, guys, I'm not super good at that.
- 6:45Speaker 1: But amongst the guys, I'm just gonna say, I think
- 6:47Speaker 1: it would be strange if on this TV show there
- 6:53Speaker 1: wasn't one that was like, you know what, I thought
- 6:55Speaker 1: I liked her more, But the more I'm around the
- 6:58Speaker 1: other one at group day, so or whatever, I'm sensing
- 7:02Speaker 1: feelings for the other one. I feel like that could come.
- 7:05Speaker 1: I could come. Well, we'll talk about the first example
- 7:08Speaker 1: of that actually at the very end of our breakdown
- 7:12Speaker 1: of this episode, because we're gonna bring that back up
- 7:13Speaker 1: because it's it's a I think a funny moment. But
- 7:15Speaker 1: let's start with Rachel's one on one date. This happened
- 7:18Speaker 1: with Zach. Actually, if we can start with the judgment
- 7:23Speaker 1: of the date, I would say I really enjoyed this date.
- 7:27Speaker 1: In fact, I have to admit something to you. Yeah,
- 7:31Speaker 1: I teared up for the first time on this watching
- 7:35Speaker 1: The Bachelor Bachelorette, and probably three years now, it's not
- 7:39Speaker 1: uncommon for me to tear up. I just thought if
- 7:42Speaker 1: I was in this date, like if I was the
- 7:44Speaker 1: lead or if I was a part of the date
- 7:46Speaker 1: and this kind of date happened, it would be one
- 7:49Speaker 1: of those pinch me moments. But it would also I
- 7:51Speaker 1: would have been a bawling baby, Like it would have
- 7:55Speaker 1: messed it like it touches every emotion and every sensitive
- 7:59Speaker 1: p of my like being this whole day did I
- 8:03Speaker 1: thought it was an incredible one on one. Yes, you
- 8:06Speaker 1: said earlier you were like, I was kind of, um,
- 8:09Speaker 1: not fully their attention wise, like it wasn't as compelling
- 8:12Speaker 1: as the past couple upisodes. At the beginning of this
- 8:15Speaker 1: day with Karamo, cool have Karamo there so standard, right,
- 8:19Speaker 1: just like we're dressing up, we're like pretending like it's
- 8:23Speaker 1: like a royalty type day, Like we're gonna be like
- 8:25Speaker 1: Hollywood stars, Like, Okay, we've seen this sem times before. Um,
- 8:29Speaker 1: this tells me nothing. When they're trying to close for
- 8:31Speaker 1: each other, right, and then when they get into that
- 8:35Speaker 1: theater and they're watching videos of each other as little kids,
- 8:40Speaker 1: all of a sudden, all of my attention is zoomed
- 8:43Speaker 1: on that screen and I am so feeling them. They
- 8:48Speaker 1: have something there, and I'm really really excited for original
- 8:52Speaker 1: and I'm really excited for him. Do you know what
- 8:54Speaker 1: almost made me emotional? It wasn't him watching the video.
- 8:59Speaker 1: It was him in his I t M s saying that,
- 9:02Speaker 1: like there's something really serious here, like this might actually
- 9:05Speaker 1: be Like at the first date with my wife, he
- 9:08Speaker 1: seemed so convinced of it, and there was maybe I'm
- 9:11Speaker 1: like looking way too far into this, Maybe I'm romanticizing
- 9:14Speaker 1: it too much. But I almost feel like during that
- 9:16Speaker 1: I team he was having this realization and he didn't
- 9:20Speaker 1: expect to come on the show. I wouldn't feel that,
- 9:22Speaker 1: and he was feeling it. Yeah, it's it's almost the
- 9:24Speaker 1: and we we don't see it every season, so it
- 9:27Speaker 1: is always a moment to to kind of point out.
- 9:29Speaker 1: But it was almost that like maybe not love at
- 9:31Speaker 1: first sight kind of thing, but it's it's like love
- 9:36Speaker 1: at first time together moment where we're we'll walk away
- 9:40Speaker 1: from this day and I'll say this, I don't know
- 9:42Speaker 1: if we'll see Zack next week. We probably won't because
- 9:45Speaker 1: he was such a big character during this episode. But
- 9:49Speaker 1: his heart you have to like now remember as viewers
- 9:53Speaker 1: where his heart stands, and his like authenticity on his
- 9:57Speaker 1: love or his care or his his intrigue at Rachel.
- 10:03Speaker 1: That's not going away. It's just gonna continue. And now
- 10:06Speaker 1: he has to watch her go on other dates with
- 10:08Speaker 1: other people and he feels very close to her, and
- 10:12Speaker 1: so it's gonna be really interesting to see how he
- 10:14Speaker 1: emotionally handles it. Some handle it well and some in
- 10:17Speaker 1: the past to handle it really poorly and almost ruined
- 10:21Speaker 1: it for themselves because they get so in their own head.
- 10:26Speaker 1: M hmm. Now do you feel like, um it was
- 10:32Speaker 1: you're waiting for him to say, my dad's gone. M hmm.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Now they bonded over this dad moment the two of
- 10:40Speaker 1: them where um they talked about how their dads would
- 10:44Speaker 1: take them to like buy the airport and they'd watch
- 10:47Speaker 1: the plans take off in land, and I thought that
- 10:49Speaker 1: was really cool and really a bonding moment. They both
- 10:51Speaker 1: were like astonished at the fact that they both grew
- 10:54Speaker 1: up doing that. But like, we didn't get any backstory
- 10:58Speaker 1: on his He's like, I'm really close to my and
- 11:00Speaker 1: I just was waiting for a butt. Were you waiting
- 11:04Speaker 1: for a But I was like, but what? And now
- 11:07Speaker 1: I just want to see where your dad is. Like
- 11:08Speaker 1: are we going to is there something like cut there
- 11:11Speaker 1: so that we are very anxious to meet his dad
- 11:14Speaker 1: when hometowns come and it's going to be like a
- 11:17Speaker 1: great dad moment. Interesting. Yeah, I mean I don't think
- 11:21Speaker 1: I did, because I was really really like feeling that day.
- 11:25Speaker 1: I think I had like flashbacks to my time and
- 11:29Speaker 1: just missing your friends and your family and and being
- 11:32Speaker 1: able to relate a little bit. Um. You know, this
- 11:36Speaker 1: show is so crazy and it's so ridiculous and it's
- 11:39Speaker 1: so wild, but there are all those moments where every
- 11:42Speaker 1: all of it kind of slows down and you feel um,
- 11:47Speaker 1: you kind of feel normal again, And it doesn't doesn't
- 11:50Speaker 1: happen very often when you're on the show. And then
- 11:52Speaker 1: your family comes up on this video. And here's where
- 11:56Speaker 1: my mind would have gone, because it happened with me,
- 11:59Speaker 1: is like Rachel's parents and Zach's family had to send
- 12:06Speaker 1: these pictures in and so in my mind, I'm sitting
- 12:08Speaker 1: there going my my family knows that I'm gonna be
- 12:11Speaker 1: watching this, and they put effort into making this happen
- 12:14Speaker 1: because they care about this experience for me, and it
- 12:17Speaker 1: would have just like overflowed with like gratitude and also
- 12:21Speaker 1: just missing them not being able to talk to him,
- 12:23Speaker 1: and so I I personally just was having a lot
- 12:26Speaker 1: of like, man, I get it, like this is a
- 12:28Speaker 1: really great day, but it's gonna be a really hard
- 12:30Speaker 1: day to move on from for both of them, because
- 12:34Speaker 1: not every day is going to feel like this. It's
- 12:38Speaker 1: such a good point, and I want to elaborate on
- 12:41Speaker 1: what you're saying about the family feel because I think
- 12:44Speaker 1: a lot of people watching this and even maybe myself
- 12:46Speaker 1: Initially I was thinking, Okay, they're old videos of us. Okay,
- 12:50Speaker 1: it's your mom's like your mom called it, you know,
- 12:53Speaker 1: she sent in a video of like a big deal
- 12:54Speaker 1: you say, like last week. There is something like super
- 12:57Speaker 1: emotional because you're so close off from your family and
- 12:59Speaker 1: your experiencing something so emotional that normally your family would
- 13:02Speaker 1: be involved in, and then all of a sudden they
- 13:03Speaker 1: are involved in and it's a surprise. I remember my
- 13:07Speaker 1: mom and dad had there their fort anniversary during No
- 13:13Speaker 1: it couldn't possibly have been. It's like they're thirty fifth
- 13:16Speaker 1: anniversary or something. When I was on the show, and um,
- 13:20Speaker 1: they let me call them for like five minutes at
- 13:22Speaker 1: the airport and I got back and I was like,
- 13:25Speaker 1: They're like, where'd you go? And I was like, I
- 13:27Speaker 1: got I got to come in love and dad, and
- 13:31Speaker 1: what else would you cry about getting to call your
- 13:33Speaker 1: mom and dad? It happens. I mean, you know, people
- 13:37Speaker 1: might remember during my season my dad had you know,
- 13:40Speaker 1: open heart surgery, like a week and a half before
- 13:42Speaker 1: my season started, and it never really was brought up
- 13:45Speaker 1: too much during the season, which is good. I didn't
- 13:47Speaker 1: like it wasn't and it didn't need to be a storyline,
- 13:51Speaker 1: but you leave your your family in the hospital and
- 13:56Speaker 1: you go on the show where you're cut off. Now,
- 13:57Speaker 1: I did get to call them once a week, I
- 13:59Speaker 1: kind of and then one of the producers had direct
- 14:01Speaker 1: access to him, so she could text and be like, hey,
- 14:03Speaker 1: how you feeling and he would send her a text
- 14:05Speaker 1: and so at least new But it's hard. It's hard
- 14:08Speaker 1: when you go away. So hey, just remember that as
- 14:11Speaker 1: you watch these dates, everybody because that these people are
- 14:13Speaker 1: cut off in their family. Okay, So during this date Ashley,
- 14:17Speaker 1: there is a kind of a segment that goes back
- 14:20Speaker 1: to the house. Gabby goes to see the guys. I
- 14:22Speaker 1: felt like this didn't fit with the the episode to me, um,
- 14:26Speaker 1: let me explain why in there, so we go for it. Yeah,
- 14:31Speaker 1: you can tell this is where my mind went. Okay,
- 14:33Speaker 1: So we watch this moment and we see what we
- 14:36Speaker 1: see every season where the lead is wondering if any
- 14:39Speaker 1: of these contestants are actually interested in them, very human emotion,
- 14:42Speaker 1: very human feeling where we don't want or maybe we're
- 14:46Speaker 1: on a date and we feel like, how are we
- 14:47Speaker 1: going to keep these this person interested in me? Or
- 14:50Speaker 1: am I enough of a human whatever? That means to
- 14:54Speaker 1: be the lead of this season. So Gabby's questioning that
- 14:57Speaker 1: the guys are kind of throwing the football around. It
- 14:59Speaker 1: doesn't like they're paying attention to her. But as this
- 15:02Speaker 1: episode progresses and as we see the interest in Gabby,
- 15:06Speaker 1: I would be shocked if not one of these dudes
- 15:10Speaker 1: was like flirting with her or like talking to her.
- 15:12Speaker 1: I think it was cut to make it look like
- 15:16Speaker 1: nobody was interested in her. I just I'm shocked now
- 15:19Speaker 1: because at the end of the episode we see so
- 15:21Speaker 1: many people interested in Gabby. Oh that's so true. Oh
- 15:26Speaker 1: I didn't think about it like that. But it's definitely
- 15:28Speaker 1: supposed to be like the scenes setter. You're supposed to
- 15:34Speaker 1: start thinking like, oh maybe, okay, well, one, let's see
- 15:39Speaker 1: Gabby's insecurities come out. Let's start to see them crawl
- 15:41Speaker 1: out slowly. And then secondly, like, is this division of
- 15:47Speaker 1: the guys showing interest in one over the other about
- 15:50Speaker 1: to happen? So I think it's just a scene setter.
- 15:53Speaker 1: I wonder if that was that was the moment that
- 15:56Speaker 1: really did make her emotional. Also, like, remember crystals just
- 16:02Speaker 1: to pop in during the day and I wasn't prepared
- 16:05Speaker 1: for it. I was like, excuse me, I'm just gonna
- 16:07Speaker 1: sit over here because like my emotions and like my
- 16:10Speaker 1: brain weren't ready for this. I have no idea what
- 16:12Speaker 1: I'm gonna say. I don't look right, and I think
- 16:15Speaker 1: it's just like maybe she's overthinking it a little bit
- 16:17Speaker 1: in that moment. That's fair. I mean, it's is intimidating
- 16:21Speaker 1: to be at the house. Intimidating exactly. You just need
- 16:24Speaker 1: to know. And it turns into their house. I know
- 16:27Speaker 1: it is the bachelor mansion, and the leads come in
- 16:29Speaker 1: and out, but after a few days that becomes like
- 16:33Speaker 1: what who if it's the bachelorette, and then it's the guys.
- 16:35Speaker 1: If the bachelor's of girls, it becomes like the feeling
- 16:38Speaker 1: of this is our house. So she's like in their house,
- 16:41Speaker 1: not really always, you know, she probably feels like a guest,
- 16:45Speaker 1: and guests need to have a lot of like hospitality
- 16:49Speaker 1: given to them, and these guys may be more prepared
- 16:51Speaker 1: to do that. They were just more down there, like hey,
- 16:54Speaker 1: it's a group day or it's a one on one day.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Time for the guys to throw the football and jump
- 16:58Speaker 1: with the pool. Well, I don't want to give the
- 17:00Speaker 1: I's too much credit in this moment. I certainly don't know.
- 17:02Speaker 1: I get it, but like, yeah, if they were told
- 17:06Speaker 1: a couple of hours earlier, you know, Gabby's coming this afternoon,
- 17:10Speaker 1: they would have had things planned, Like I bet you
- 17:12Speaker 1: guys would have been in the kitchen trying to show
- 17:14Speaker 1: off cooking skills. They would have been coming up with games.
- 17:17Speaker 1: I really do think there's a lot of intimidation factor.
- 17:20Speaker 1: But then again, sure get mad at me if I
- 17:23Speaker 1: am giving them too much credit. I might be. Yeah,
- 17:25Speaker 1: there's an intimidation factor, but they've been doing push ups
- 17:28Speaker 1: getting their muscle swoll okay slow. You know, Rachel and
- 17:32Speaker 1: Zack's date goes really well. This is a couple to watch.
- 17:35Speaker 1: As we mentioned a second ago, we feel like both
- 17:37Speaker 1: of them have strong feelings and Zach seemed very very
- 17:42Speaker 1: engaged in his emotions. Uh for Rachel after this date,
- 17:47Speaker 1: which makes us go on now to Gabby's one on
- 17:50Speaker 1: one date. Uh. One of our past guests on this podcast,
- 17:54Speaker 1: Grandpa John, you go back and listen to it. It's
- 17:57Speaker 1: a great podcast. I mean, the audio is not awesome
- 17:59Speaker 1: because to call in from his bridge game that he
- 18:02Speaker 1: made him get up from to actually be a part
- 18:04Speaker 1: of the podcast. But he is an incredible guest in
- 18:07Speaker 1: the podcast, so go back and listen to that now
- 18:09Speaker 1: that you've seen him on this season, Grandpa John's out
- 18:12Speaker 1: for Gabby's one on one day. I my first thoughts
- 18:16Speaker 1: here this Grandpa John is incredible. He is uh he
- 18:19Speaker 1: is Golden television. I hope we see more of him.
- 18:22Speaker 1: But how awkward would it be for both Gabby and
- 18:28Speaker 1: Eric to have the grandpa on your first one on
- 18:32Speaker 1: one date sitting in the back seat knowing you're sharing
- 18:35Speaker 1: this date alongside of him. I think you get used
- 18:39Speaker 1: to it. But I did it with Kevin Hart and
- 18:40Speaker 1: ice Cube. Remember that, Like that was so intimiding. I
- 18:45Speaker 1: have Kevin. I am driving in a like nineteen like
- 18:50Speaker 1: seventies Mustang around Los Angeles with Kevin Hart and ice
- 18:54Speaker 1: Cube in my back seat. The date is the last
- 18:57Speaker 1: thing you're thinking of. You're definitely trying to think in
- 19:00Speaker 1: that moment how to impress used too, and Kevin Hart like,
- 19:03Speaker 1: WHOA you got eight listeners in your car? I got,
- 19:06Speaker 1: I got, I got the A list of the A
- 19:08Speaker 1: list in my car and we had to get in
- 19:10Speaker 1: a hot tub then all of us afterwards. It was
- 19:13Speaker 1: the weird, Like, looking back, that might be the weirdest
- 19:16Speaker 1: day of my life. Um, just that I did that.
- 19:19Speaker 1: But anyways, so Gabby has her grandpa Ashley. Would you
- 19:24Speaker 1: feel like this was awkward or would this just be
- 19:26Speaker 1: a lot of fun? I'm thinking for Eric, this is
- 19:28Speaker 1: so awkward and he's not really even hiding it. His
- 19:32Speaker 1: facial expression is not really like he's not thrilled. And
- 19:37Speaker 1: that's okay. It's so understandable because in that moment, not
- 19:40Speaker 1: only does he have to feel like he has to
- 19:42Speaker 1: have his personality ready to go for Gabby, he also
- 19:46Speaker 1: has to have like his personality attuned to impressing Grandpa too.
- 19:52Speaker 1: And those are two kind of like light switches in
- 19:54Speaker 1: our heads, because you know, we have that personality that
- 19:58Speaker 1: we kind of that that best self, you know, you
- 20:02Speaker 1: know how you have I saw seem like we all
- 20:04Speaker 1: have like multiple personalities. But that's what I mean. But
- 20:07Speaker 1: you know what I mean, like when you're going to
- 20:08Speaker 1: go meet the parents, put a different self forward, when
- 20:12Speaker 1: you're about to go floor on the first date, a
- 20:13Speaker 1: different self. So now he has to mitigate between both
- 20:18Speaker 1: of these and it's very very hard. It is hard,
- 20:22Speaker 1: and it's hard, you know, sometimes on this show, especially
- 20:25Speaker 1: on the first date when you've met known the person
- 20:28Speaker 1: for a few days. The way to kind of fill
- 20:33Speaker 1: in awkward silence when you're not comfortable being quiet next
- 20:37Speaker 1: to each other is kissing just happens? How are you
- 20:41Speaker 1: going to be like kissing while Grandpa John's in there.
- 20:44Speaker 1: I don't think Grandpa John would have a problem with
- 20:45Speaker 1: it now that we know him, but it would be weird. Well,
- 20:49Speaker 1: the day is a normal bachelorette and bachelor type date.
- 20:54Speaker 1: They go a little bit like a mosaic date. We
- 20:59Speaker 1: have shown bath and then we have bowling. Yeah, that
- 21:03Speaker 1: was but like I felt like the sound bath was
- 21:06Speaker 1: a normal date, right every season we see some type
- 21:09Speaker 1: of meditation or we see some type of uh like
- 21:13Speaker 1: getting in tune with yourself spiritually exactly type of day.
- 21:16Speaker 1: This was that date. We'll probably see a few more
- 21:19Speaker 1: of those this season. Um, I'm guessing because they seem
- 21:22Speaker 1: to like to repeat some of the dates right now.
- 21:24Speaker 1: But then we see bowling where Gabby finds uh an
- 21:29Speaker 1: incredible woman for Grandpa John. But I don't feel like
- 21:33Speaker 1: we got enough of that date, Like I want to
- 21:35Speaker 1: see her, and of course you wanted to see the
- 21:38Speaker 1: old people date. I wanted to see I wanted to
- 21:41Speaker 1: see him dad. I wanted to see him talk. I
- 21:42Speaker 1: want to see him flirt. I wanted to hear what
- 21:44Speaker 1: they talk about when they're like introducing themselves to each other.
- 21:49Speaker 1: That that felt like a missed segment to me. Maybe
- 21:52Speaker 1: they had so much that they didn't need it, but
- 21:56Speaker 1: that would have been How fun would that have been?
- 21:59Speaker 1: I still I think Grandpa John is open to love.
- 22:01Speaker 1: I don't think he's your lead to this show. I
- 22:04Speaker 1: think he's still wearing his wedding ring after years after
- 22:08Speaker 1: his wife passed. I think this man is is a
- 22:11Speaker 1: one lady man and everything else is just for fun
- 22:15Speaker 1: and flirts just for flirts. Well, and that's just that's sweet.
- 22:20Speaker 1: I'd like to see him flirting. Um, but uh, that
- 22:23Speaker 1: was it was a fun day. It was a good
- 22:25Speaker 1: one on one. I'm glad Grandpa John was able to
- 22:28Speaker 1: be around. I hope. Um. That was something that was
- 22:33Speaker 1: encouraging for Gabby, especially when she had a tough week.
- 22:36Speaker 1: It seemed like for the last movie week, a week
- 22:39Speaker 1: of filming, he's sprad though, Like he has a thirty
- 22:43Speaker 1: year old granddaughter and he's like boom, you know, he
- 22:47Speaker 1: is energetic, he's all with it. I mean, I think
- 22:50Speaker 1: he's probably young, right, he's like, well quote quote young
- 22:53Speaker 1: for grandpa a thirty year old, Like I'm thirty four
- 22:57Speaker 1: and my only living grandparents is nine not yeah, yeah,
- 23:01Speaker 1: he's note. I bet he's in his seventies or so.
- 23:06Speaker 1: He has the best quote of the episode. To me, Uh,
- 23:10Speaker 1: it starts out very powerful, and it made me stop
- 23:12Speaker 1: and think. He said this. He said today was a
- 23:15Speaker 1: good day. He said new experiences are always fun when
- 23:19Speaker 1: you get to my age. That's what he said. So
- 23:21Speaker 1: new experiences, no matter what they are, when you do
- 23:24Speaker 1: something for the first time, when you are in your
- 23:26Speaker 1: seventies or sixties or however old he is, are always fun.
- 23:31Speaker 1: And I think that was such a good perspective. He
- 23:33Speaker 1: just enjoyed that day with his granddaughter. But then he goes,
- 23:36Speaker 1: where's my beer? Like I was like, this man knows
- 23:41Speaker 1: what he's doing for TV. He's that's just made for TV.
- 23:43Speaker 1: He knows exactly the lines to say, and I do
- 23:46Speaker 1: not think they're fed to him at all. Back to
- 23:59Speaker 1: Gab Gab and Eric her on this date. Gaby opens
- 24:02Speaker 1: up to Eric about her her mother and how once
- 24:08Speaker 1: Gabby kind of moved out of the house. I think
- 24:09Speaker 1: it was her words. She said her mom kind of
- 24:11Speaker 1: wiped her hands clean or washed her hands clean of
- 24:14Speaker 1: that relationship. Eric and Gabby since the beginning, really since
- 24:19Speaker 1: we first saw them, it feels like they have a
- 24:23Speaker 1: great connection. I don't know how deep it is yet,
- 24:27Speaker 1: but it does feel like a great connection. In fact,
- 24:29Speaker 1: Gabby even and if I'm remembering what she says right,
- 24:33Speaker 1: she said she's in she's the imperfect bachelor atte but
- 24:37Speaker 1: in some people's eyes, it will be perfect. She also
- 24:40Speaker 1: says she would be Oh, it's incredible. She said she
- 24:43Speaker 1: would give anything to be loved by someone like Eric,
- 24:46Speaker 1: A very powerful statement um for her to say. I
- 24:50Speaker 1: think it points to where she feels about herself. But
- 24:54Speaker 1: I also feel like she is still in this place
- 24:57Speaker 1: where she doesn't feel good enough, which is you know
- 25:00Speaker 1: that impostor syndrome as the bachelor or bachelor is very real.
- 25:06Speaker 1: I'm hoping that we see Gabby on this because she
- 25:09Speaker 1: is worthy of that, but I also don't want her
- 25:14Speaker 1: to feel like she is not in control of this
- 25:18Speaker 1: and that these guys aren't there because they feel lucky
- 25:22Speaker 1: to be loved by someone like her. When I say
- 25:25Speaker 1: I don't like this, I don't mean like I don't
- 25:28Speaker 1: like her. She's like, I don't like that. She says
- 25:30Speaker 1: that because I don't like the way. That's how she
- 25:32Speaker 1: feels about herselfs she should be like I, Um, you know,
- 25:36Speaker 1: like I, he would be lucky to be with me.
- 25:39Speaker 1: I want her to feel that. I want her to
- 25:42Speaker 1: feel like she is super worthy of her perfect match,
- 25:47Speaker 1: not just some guy she's been on a date with.
- 25:51Speaker 1: This is so so sad. And I feel like you
- 25:54Speaker 1: could speak to it because you were you feel like
- 25:56Speaker 1: you were unlovable. And I mean that I was just
- 26:00Speaker 1: thinking about this as I watched the episode. You know
- 26:02Speaker 1: I did feel that way. Uh. And that's as we've
- 26:06Speaker 1: said here, and you know that's this is not always
- 26:08Speaker 1: easy for me to say, but like I still struggle
- 26:10Speaker 1: with that, Like Jessica knows that I struggle with that. Um.
- 26:14Speaker 1: At times. Now it's a lot better because I have
- 26:16Speaker 1: a wife that loves me really well. UM, so it's
- 26:19Speaker 1: not like this hunting Oh my gosh, nobody's gonna love
- 26:21Speaker 1: me feeling anymore. But at times I feel unworthy of
- 26:24Speaker 1: her love. And during the season when I was doing it.
- 26:30Speaker 1: I did have that in the back of my mind.
- 26:31Speaker 1: You almost felt like I almost felt like I at
- 26:33Speaker 1: times had to put on a front so that these
- 26:36Speaker 1: one would stay interest in me, because if they got
- 26:37Speaker 1: to know me, they would not like me. I don't
- 26:40Speaker 1: know if that was true or not, um because you know,
- 26:42Speaker 1: you don't get a second chance at it. But then,
- 26:45Speaker 1: obviously how my season played out and how life played out,
- 26:48Speaker 1: there was another moment in my life where I went, oh,
- 26:50Speaker 1: my gosh, like I am that guy. The more somebody
- 26:53Speaker 1: gets to know me, the less they like me and
- 26:56Speaker 1: they don't want to be with me. I will say
- 26:59Speaker 1: this as I've worked through therapy personally, and as I
- 27:02Speaker 1: know many people feel this way. I am a lot
- 27:06Speaker 1: healthier for human when I don't let those thoughts become
- 27:10Speaker 1: truce in my head. And that's what I don't want
- 27:13Speaker 1: Gabby to feel, because I know how you can feel
- 27:15Speaker 1: that during this It's so you're You're a normal human
- 27:19Speaker 1: who probably have struggled to get people interested in you,
- 27:22Speaker 1: and you've gone on great dates, you've gone on bad dates,
- 27:24Speaker 1: and then you're all of a sudden the lead of
- 27:26Speaker 1: the show where you have you know, at this point
- 27:28Speaker 1: still twenty one people looking to find love with you,
- 27:32Speaker 1: and you're like this, it can't be real. This is
- 27:35Speaker 1: all fake, This is all not true to me. Uh.
- 27:40Speaker 1: But the truth is, like Gabby is worthy of that moment.
- 27:44Speaker 1: She deserves to be in this place, and I hope
- 27:47Speaker 1: at some point she can start to have the confidence that, no,
- 27:51Speaker 1: these guys are gonna be lucky to be with me.
- 27:53Speaker 1: I know, me too, me too. She definitely acknowledges that
- 27:56Speaker 1: she has, you know, abandonment issues because of this, I
- 27:59Speaker 1: just cannot but like it's a it's a matter of
- 28:02Speaker 1: like acknowledging him versus believing that you're worthy at the
- 28:07Speaker 1: same time, do you know what I mean? Like it
- 28:08Speaker 1: seems like she still has a big, big step to take.
- 28:13Speaker 1: I I feel just like so bad hearing the story
- 28:16Speaker 1: of her mother, Like she doesn't know the love of
- 28:18Speaker 1: a mother. She's a strange from her mom, just like
- 28:23Speaker 1: kind of like let that sink in. It's just something
- 28:26Speaker 1: that like it's so like I can't conceptualize it, and
- 28:31Speaker 1: I can't imagine the pain that comes with it and
- 28:34Speaker 1: how it must play a role in her finding love
- 28:38Speaker 1: God for her grandpa, yea, her dad, Because she's really
- 28:43Speaker 1: really tight with her dad. Um, alright, so but yeah,
- 28:46Speaker 1: I just felt so so sad. It's one of those
- 28:49Speaker 1: moments that were like grabbed my attention when she said
- 28:52Speaker 1: like I would only I could, if I could only,
- 28:55Speaker 1: or like I hope to be um love to buy
- 29:00Speaker 1: a man like Eric, and I'm like a girl I
- 29:03Speaker 1: don't like, I don't know Eric very well, but I
- 29:05Speaker 1: feel like I'm getting to know you pretty well and like,
- 29:08Speaker 1: let's see if Eric deserves you or like because because
- 29:12Speaker 1: because just an observing yeah, you seem like way cooler
- 29:16Speaker 1: than Eric, Like I want to be with you more
- 29:19Speaker 1: than I want to be with Eric. Oh. I think
- 29:21Speaker 1: a lot of people are falling in love with the
- 29:22Speaker 1: two Bachelor as both of them uniquely. Uh. Actually, as
- 29:26Speaker 1: we as we move forward here, then um, we leave
- 29:29Speaker 1: this one on one date where Eric does get a
- 29:31Speaker 1: rose not shockingly to a group date, the biggest group
- 29:34Speaker 1: date and Bachelor Nation history. Oh, I just thought it
- 29:38Speaker 1: one more thing I'd love to talk about the way
- 29:41Speaker 1: that she just went onto his lap. Oh yeah, she
- 29:45Speaker 1: said the same thing my wife says to me is
- 29:47Speaker 1: if I get here, I just feel like I can
- 29:48Speaker 1: get closer to you. Jessica's always says, I just want
- 29:50Speaker 1: to get in your pocket. That's so she always tells me.
- 29:53Speaker 1: It's like, well, I don't think that's possible, but but
- 29:56Speaker 1: it's very cute. It was so so sweet it is.
- 30:00Speaker 1: That's a good moment. Yeah, and she felt comfortable enough
- 30:04Speaker 1: to do that. I think that's a like, that is
- 30:05Speaker 1: a comfort when you can sit on somebody's laugh and
- 30:08Speaker 1: you're just like, I just like being close to you. Uh.
- 30:10Speaker 1: It makes me feel very loved. Yeah, it makes me
- 30:13Speaker 1: feel very loved when my when my wife does that
- 30:15Speaker 1: and like, wow, you like me enough where you just
- 30:18Speaker 1: want to be so close to me. Um, it's so nice,
- 30:22Speaker 1: it is. It's a very intimate, good good point. Okay,
- 30:26Speaker 1: So then we go to this nineteen nineteen uh, contestants
- 30:30Speaker 1: too on to lead group day. It's the biggest in
- 30:34Speaker 1: Bachelor Nation history. This is where everything starts to fall apart.
- 30:37Speaker 1: I don't think we need to focus much on the
- 30:40Speaker 1: photo shoot because we've seen a photo shooting now for
- 30:43Speaker 1: every season. I will see tire the photographer. Forget his name.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Let's retire him. He's done a great job, he deserves
- 30:50Speaker 1: a break. Let's let's say we'll move on from him. Now, Uh,
- 30:54Speaker 1: this is no longer interesting to me. I used to be,
- 30:57Speaker 1: And I know it's hard. Let's give the show the
- 30:59Speaker 1: benefit of the doubt. Um, it's hard to come up
- 31:02Speaker 1: with a new date every season. But it used to
- 31:04Speaker 1: be where, maybe five years ago, I would watch the
- 31:08Speaker 1: episodes excited for what the date producers could come up with,
- 31:11Speaker 1: like what new things we're gonna be done? And also
- 31:14Speaker 1: I started to take some of their ideas and implement
- 31:16Speaker 1: them into my dating life, like some of the cool
- 31:19Speaker 1: things they would do. Now I mean so far, Uh,
- 31:24Speaker 1: we've just kind of see dates repeat like over and
- 31:27Speaker 1: over again, season by season, maybe in a different way,
- 31:30Speaker 1: but I they just the content of the date. It's
- 31:34Speaker 1: not fun for me anymore. It's now the after the date,
- 31:38Speaker 1: which really brings out kind of the intrigue. So we
- 31:43Speaker 1: do move on to Sofi Stadium. We're gabbing, Rachel are
- 31:47Speaker 1: hosting the men of this season. Uh, they sit down
- 31:50Speaker 1: and talk to him, and this is, like I said,
- 31:52Speaker 1: I feel like where this episode takes a turn. Um,
- 31:56Speaker 1: we start to have conversations had with Gabby, especially Rachel's
- 32:02Speaker 1: having a great time. She's talking to everybody that they're
- 32:04Speaker 1: in the football they're hanging out. Well, Gabby seems to
- 32:07Speaker 1: have a wave of rejection coming her way this during
- 32:12Speaker 1: the state and it it messes with her. Let's start
- 32:16Speaker 1: Ashley talking about Hayden's conversation. I feel like that was
- 32:20Speaker 1: the one that really stood out to Gabby and kind
- 32:22Speaker 1: of rocked her. He said the words that she's rough
- 32:25Speaker 1: around the edges. Now what he meant by that, I
- 32:30Speaker 1: don't fully know, but he said that in the midst
- 32:33Speaker 1: of kind of breaking up with her or moving on
- 32:36Speaker 1: to Rachel Ashley when he said those words, did it
- 32:41Speaker 1: shock you? Did it throw you back? Did you go,
- 32:43Speaker 1: oh my gosh, this is one of those moments, uh
- 32:47Speaker 1: that is so despicable? Or were you more in a
- 32:51Speaker 1: in a different place kind of viewing it? As he
- 32:54Speaker 1: just didn't know what to say in that moment. He
- 32:57Speaker 1: didn't know what to say in that moment. He had
- 32:59Speaker 1: no idea like one. He was nervous, I'm sure. And
- 33:03Speaker 1: he also what he meant was that, like, I don't
- 33:07Speaker 1: I don't think that this. I think there's a difference
- 33:11Speaker 1: student rough around the edges and edgy, Like she's the
- 33:14Speaker 1: edgier one, you know, which means like she's kind of
- 33:18Speaker 1: like the cool one, right, she's she's a little bit spicier. Yeah,
- 33:23Speaker 1: Like there's sugar and sugar and sweet, right, or there's
- 33:27Speaker 1: sugar and sweet though there's like sugar and spicy. Rachel
- 33:31Speaker 1: is sugar, right, and then and then Gabby is spicy.
- 33:36Speaker 1: I would agree. I don't think it came out right.
- 33:40Speaker 1: When I watched, I was like, oh, that's not the
- 33:41Speaker 1: thing to say, Like you can't tell somebody she's rough
- 33:43Speaker 1: around the edges. I do, though, feel like the edgy side,
- 33:47Speaker 1: like edgy would almost be a compliment to me, because
- 33:49Speaker 1: everybody called me so Yeah, everybody's called me so boring
- 33:53Speaker 1: for so long that I think if somebody was like, man,
- 33:55Speaker 1: you're kind of edgy, I'd be like, yes, yes, I
- 33:58Speaker 1: am it. It's like you're not a vanilla sure like
- 34:02Speaker 1: Rocky Road, I'm edgy. I think I would take it
- 34:05Speaker 1: as a compliment. I feel like most would if given
- 34:08Speaker 1: the right context. This came out wrong. It also came
- 34:11Speaker 1: out wrong at the wrong time because Gabby was already
- 34:13Speaker 1: questioning kind of her role here and if people be
- 34:16Speaker 1: interested her. Then we have Jacob show up and he
- 34:20Speaker 1: breaks the news to Gabby that he is into Rachel now,
- 34:23Speaker 1: I don't know if either of them really had much
- 34:26Speaker 1: of a husband idea of Jacob. I mean, he had
- 34:31Speaker 1: worn a leaf at the beginning of this episode, and
- 34:33Speaker 1: he also showed up on a horse, uh you know,
- 34:37Speaker 1: bare back, well not bare back that's different, but without
- 34:40Speaker 1: a shirt on at the beginning of this season. But
- 34:44Speaker 1: I do think it was one more example where Gabby
- 34:47Speaker 1: just started to feel like, my goodness, like, are any
- 34:51Speaker 1: of these dudes actually into me? Are any of these
- 34:54Speaker 1: guys actually interested in who I am? And I do
- 34:57Speaker 1: think she started to question it, which is very real. Yeah,
- 35:01Speaker 1: and I didn't step back to really look at who
- 35:03Speaker 1: was on this day at versus who was left at home,
- 35:07Speaker 1: But it bet you that if she like really did
- 35:09Speaker 1: step back and she was like, oh, but these guys
- 35:11Speaker 1: are waiting for me at home, and I know that
- 35:13Speaker 1: I have a future with them, like I want to
- 35:15Speaker 1: pursue them. Because at least she could look at these
- 35:19Speaker 1: three guys and she was probably like, I wasn't gonna
- 35:22Speaker 1: take any of them seriously, I didn't really care about
- 35:25Speaker 1: any of them. But the rejection hurts, regardless of it's
- 35:29Speaker 1: somebody that you care about or not. Sometimes the rejection
- 35:33Speaker 1: made her even more if it's somebody you don't care about,
- 35:36Speaker 1: because you're like, I'm not even impressing you. Yeah, that's true.
- 35:41Speaker 1: I had somebody go home during my season. I remember
- 35:44Speaker 1: somebody I was interested in but did not feel like
- 35:47Speaker 1: there was a great connection with. And it does rock
- 35:49Speaker 1: your world because you're like, wait, people, people are gonna
- 35:52Speaker 1: go home because they're not interested in me. Like you,
- 35:56Speaker 1: as soon as you start to feel like the lead,
- 35:58Speaker 1: the show is a great way of always humbling you,
- 36:00Speaker 1: to make you question if you really belong there or not. Uh.
- 36:03Speaker 1: And I think that you. I didn't think you were
- 36:06Speaker 1: worthy of How are you not interesting me? Come on?
- 36:09Speaker 1: Like you're the one person here that like I always thought. Yeah,
- 36:12Speaker 1: like you'd be lucky to find something like me. Um,
- 36:16Speaker 1: I'm gonna go quiet, Dawson. I'm sure you can hear him. No,
- 36:19Speaker 1: you can't. You can't know you're good. Uh. Okay, So
- 36:24Speaker 1: Gabby's questioning things. It leads to Rachel giving out her rose,
- 36:29Speaker 1: but Gabby not giving out a rose. Uh. The two
- 36:32Speaker 1: bachelorettes speak, then Gabby shares with Rachel kind of what
- 36:36Speaker 1: happened that evening. Rachel is immediately in a place of defense,
- 36:41Speaker 1: saying Gabby, what do you want me to do. I'll
- 36:42Speaker 1: talk to these guys, I'll call him out, We'll do
- 36:45Speaker 1: whatever this. I think it was a turning point where
- 36:47Speaker 1: they decide, Hey, something needs to change, like, no longer
- 36:50Speaker 1: can we date these guys at one time. We can't
- 36:52Speaker 1: allow them the position where they can choose who they
- 36:55Speaker 1: want to be with. Uh. And so they discuss, which
- 37:00Speaker 1: we hear from Jesse Palmer that the cocktail party was
- 37:03Speaker 1: gonna be canceled and that instead the two Roses or
- 37:08Speaker 1: the two leads are going to give out individual roses
- 37:11Speaker 1: to the guys that are now going to pursue them
- 37:13Speaker 1: alone for the rest of the season. I think this
- 37:16Speaker 1: was a great move. I don't know how it's going
- 37:18Speaker 1: to play out, but I think it was necessary given
- 37:21Speaker 1: what had happened so far this season. It it was
- 37:26Speaker 1: a rough ending to this episode because I did feel
- 37:30Speaker 1: like once again, the guys kind of had for the
- 37:34Speaker 1: last I hope it's the last episode, but they had
- 37:36Speaker 1: control and they could decide. However, Ashley, none of the
- 37:40Speaker 1: guys that took control and said no to a rose, Sorry,
- 37:43Speaker 1: I'm more interested in another person actually got a rose.
- 37:46Speaker 1: It was a secret between them were like, if one
- 37:50Speaker 1: of these guys crosses us, they're gone to go back
- 38:04Speaker 1: to the Jesse conversation. Yeah, when he comes out and
- 38:07Speaker 1: says that, you're like, Okay, this is a great move,
- 38:08Speaker 1: great move, and then you see it actually unfolding and
- 38:11Speaker 1: you're like, oh, look, so we really gave them the
- 38:14Speaker 1: power and they the girls admit that they're like, oh god,
- 38:17Speaker 1: this is exactly how it was supposed to not work out.
- 38:20Speaker 1: I just don't know if they hadn't any other option.
- 38:23Speaker 1: It's kind of one of those you either take the
- 38:26Speaker 1: the best worst option and do it and know that
- 38:29Speaker 1: the rest of the season will be better. Um, here's
- 38:32Speaker 1: one person out of all the guys that kind of
- 38:35Speaker 1: said no to the Rose that I feel like needed
- 38:38Speaker 1: another shot was Tremaine. I thought Tremaine had like very
- 38:44Speaker 1: much done this thing well and had tried his best
- 38:48Speaker 1: to pursue the women, and he was interested in Gabby
- 38:53Speaker 1: said no to Rachel's Rose. He is the one person
- 38:56Speaker 1: here that I'm like, man, he could possibly like he
- 38:59Speaker 1: should get an other shot. Okay, I get that. I
- 39:02Speaker 1: wasn't like invested or really even thought of him beforehand.
- 39:07Speaker 1: Two things I really hated about this scene. One, it
- 39:11Speaker 1: was public, which is what um Rachel was saying to Gabby.
- 39:15Speaker 1: She was like, you were rejected, yes, and I feel yeah,
- 39:19Speaker 1: but this is on display in front of everybody. This
- 39:23Speaker 1: is far your more humiliating. I agree with her there.
- 39:27Speaker 1: I'd much prefer to experience what Rachel Gabby had gone
- 39:30Speaker 1: through the night before then what Rachel was experiencing. Secondly,
- 39:36Speaker 1: it was the first time the show felt like an
- 39:38Speaker 1: actual game show, like a game show for love, when
- 39:42Speaker 1: Jesse would come in and take away a rose from
- 39:47Speaker 1: Rachel when um it was rejected. Oh yeah, so that's
- 39:55Speaker 1: a good point. That felt Yeah, I get that. That
- 39:57Speaker 1: did feel weird, manut it necessarily have the words to
- 39:59Speaker 1: say why. But you're right, it felt kind of like
- 40:02Speaker 1: a game show, right, like, sorry, you lost your chance,
- 40:05Speaker 1: try again until you win. Yeah. Uh so, weird scenes
- 40:11Speaker 1: and not enough a fan of the whole thing. It
- 40:14Speaker 1: was definitely an a dig I'm just hoping that, like
- 40:20Speaker 1: like we said earlier in the show, this is the
- 40:23Speaker 1: time where it gets awkward, we did end up giving
- 40:26Speaker 1: the girl some power and and then going forward there
- 40:32Speaker 1: will be none. Yeah, there'll be none. This is this
- 40:35Speaker 1: gets better. The groups are smaller. I mean, if you're
- 40:37Speaker 1: on either side, you're now in the top ten. You're
- 40:39Speaker 1: three weeks in, you're in the top ten. If you're
- 40:41Speaker 1: on Rachel's team, you're in the top like seven or six. Uh,
- 40:44Speaker 1: if you're on Gabby's team, you're in the top nine.
- 40:47Speaker 1: That's pretty crazy to think about because there's gonna be
- 40:52Speaker 1: less rejections each week, maybe one person from each side. Uh,
- 40:58Speaker 1: it's gonna even out at some point, So maybe Gabby
- 41:01Speaker 1: has to get rid of two people at some point,
- 41:03Speaker 1: Rachel rid of one or maybe none. So that's interesting
- 41:07Speaker 1: to me, uh, to see how they're going to do that.
- 41:09Speaker 1: You know, hometowns are still many weeks away. They haven't
- 41:11Speaker 1: traveled internationally yet, and so you know, hometowns are gonna
- 41:15Speaker 1: be what now with two each or is it gonna
- 41:17Speaker 1: be four on both sides. If it's four, then there's
- 41:20Speaker 1: just two people that are in it cut from Rachel's
- 41:22Speaker 1: side before hometowns. Um, that's wild. I don't think it's
- 41:27Speaker 1: gonna be four, but it's less than that, because that's
- 41:29Speaker 1: a Yeah, that's wild. That'd be a crazy episode. But
- 41:32Speaker 1: it's already obvious. I think it's going to hometowns to
- 41:36Speaker 1: me with Rachel. Okay, so in a second, let's get
- 41:39Speaker 1: into that, because that's a great ending here. Uh I
- 41:43Speaker 1: just want to we promised we would talk about the
- 41:45Speaker 1: one person who tried to come back. That's Meatball. We
- 41:48Speaker 1: see in the kind of the bloopers at the end
- 41:50Speaker 1: of the episode where he goes, you know what, Rachel,
- 41:53Speaker 1: I've made a mistake. You know what I was thinking,
- 41:55Speaker 1: And I was about to go home here, but I
- 41:58Speaker 1: actually I'm into you, Like do you think they don't
- 42:00Speaker 1: tell us what happens? But it's hilarious because you know
- 42:04Speaker 1: one his name's Meatball, and I can't imagine however you
- 42:08Speaker 1: would call a guy meat Ball. And then at the
- 42:10Speaker 1: end of this be like introducing him to your parents,
- 42:12Speaker 1: be like we call him Meatball. His name, I don't
- 42:14Speaker 1: even know his real name at this point. Uh So
- 42:17Speaker 1: Meatball tries. I don't see it working out for him.
- 42:20Speaker 1: I don't think he's going to get a second shot.
- 42:22Speaker 1: We need to see this reaction. And I want Rachel
- 42:25Speaker 1: to not be Rachel, sweet, sweet Rachel. I want her
- 42:29Speaker 1: to be like, dude, come on, yeah, like make it funny,
- 42:35Speaker 1: because she said to him already I gave I gave
- 42:37Speaker 1: you a rose, so and you said no to me,
- 42:40Speaker 1: So now you want a second chance, like I don't know,
- 42:42Speaker 1: probably like ten hours later because this re assureman he
- 42:44Speaker 1: had to take forever. But funny episode or funny ending. Okay,
- 42:50Speaker 1: So Ashley spent a few minutes here. Who do you think, Uh,
- 42:53Speaker 1: let's go on both sides. Who do you think are
- 42:56Speaker 1: like shoeings now for hometown or maybe we should say it?
- 43:00Speaker 1: Who do you feel like we should really keep an
- 43:01Speaker 1: eye out for? So Eric and um, it's obviously going
- 43:06Speaker 1: to be Eric and um Nate for Gabby. I know
- 43:12Speaker 1: that loaves us too big spots, but then I think
- 43:16Speaker 1: that there will be Tino zach Avan and there's one
- 43:26Speaker 1: other guy for am I who am I missing? It's
- 43:28Speaker 1: obvious for Rachel or is there really an open spot?
- 43:31Speaker 1: I think it's open. I would agree with you on
- 43:34Speaker 1: everybody there that I'm like, yeah, you have to watch
- 43:36Speaker 1: out for this. Um both seem at least at this
- 43:42Speaker 1: point this season, it seems pretty clear who are who
- 43:46Speaker 1: both Rachel and Gabri are most interested in h and
- 43:49Speaker 1: also just maybe who have they have the best connections with?
- 43:52Speaker 1: It feels like, you know this is only week three.
- 43:54Speaker 1: This happened quicker than usual, maybe because the groups are
- 43:58Speaker 1: now smaller, but it's very clear. Yeah, I love it.
- 44:01Speaker 1: Fair we get to see their storylines now play out
- 44:04Speaker 1: for seven more weeks. Uh? Did we get to see
- 44:08Speaker 1: the relationships build and flow? I don't know how I
- 44:10Speaker 1: feel about Logan. Logan to be another one that i'd
- 44:12Speaker 1: throw in there. I don't know what his connection is yet,
- 44:16Speaker 1: but he is one to keep an eye out for. Yeah.
- 44:19Speaker 1: Oh and then like it seems like Johnny could be
- 44:21Speaker 1: a favorite of of Gabby's too. We'll see. But I
- 44:25Speaker 1: love the fact that we have now narrowed it down
- 44:27Speaker 1: by week three, two people that we were actually serious about.
- 44:32Speaker 1: So we're going to really see relationships. And I think
- 44:34Speaker 1: this is what the audience has been asking for and
- 44:36Speaker 1: I'm so excited. So to close out your thoughts, there's
- 44:39Speaker 1: one person here that you did not mention on either side. Mario.
- 44:44Speaker 1: Yeah Mario? What happened? Did he get eliminated? No? Mario
- 44:48Speaker 1: is still there? Do you okay? Yeah? Do you feel
- 44:52Speaker 1: like he is now? Maybe you know, he got the
- 44:54Speaker 1: first pressure of so we just haven't seen much of him,
- 44:57Speaker 1: which happens often. But do you still feel like he's
- 45:00Speaker 1: in the mix. No, I don't think he is. It's
- 45:04Speaker 1: interesting because he did get the first going into that
- 45:07Speaker 1: road ceremony. I go, oh, this is my head. I
- 45:10Speaker 1: wonder who Mario is going to get on, which team
- 45:12Speaker 1: he's going to get on? And then I didn't even
- 45:15Speaker 1: remember when he was quote drafted, quote drafted. You know
- 45:20Speaker 1: what I mean? Well, Ashley, that's the breakdown of this episode.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Now we have Bachelor headlines. We have a few of
- 45:25Speaker 1: them to celebrate and also talked through. Let's start with
- 45:28Speaker 1: this one. I want to celebrate here Bachelor Nations. Emily
- 45:31Speaker 1: Ferguson marries William Carlson officially Mr and Mrs Carlson. They
- 45:36Speaker 1: say this. According to people, Haley got married at the
- 45:41Speaker 1: exact same place as Emily did in Vegas. Uh. She
- 45:46Speaker 1: Emily married William Carlson. He is on the Las Vegas Nights.
- 45:50Speaker 1: Have been together for like four years. They said their
- 45:53Speaker 1: vows on a on the rose rooftop with the views
- 45:57Speaker 1: of the strip, and um they had they were escorted
- 46:01Speaker 1: by the Knight's official drum line into the party. It's
- 46:05Speaker 1: pretty cool. That's super cool. Another interesting romance to consider,
- 46:11Speaker 1: love is blind. Natalie Lee raises eyebrows on trip with
- 46:15Speaker 1: Bachelor Nations. Blake Moy's is according to E so they
- 46:19Speaker 1: just did a few pictures on on a recent trip
- 46:22Speaker 1: in the Caribbean. Natalie posted to inso story. Uh they
- 46:26Speaker 1: are posing on the beach together. Uh. There is a
- 46:30Speaker 1: sunset clip with the overlay that says the crossover. Nobody
- 46:34Speaker 1: asked for what? So who knows that they're dating? There's
- 46:40Speaker 1: a video of what seems like a breakfast date. But
- 46:42Speaker 1: I guess stay tuned. We have no confirmation, but it
- 46:45Speaker 1: definitely seems like a thing. There you go. Well, speaking
- 46:49Speaker 1: of things, we promised that we talk about it, and
- 46:53Speaker 1: so we're going to here's the update Bachelor Bachelorettes. Nate
- 46:57Speaker 1: moves to Los Angeles after Michelle Young's blit and he
- 47:00Speaker 1: says he's not dating DeAndre Canoe. Okay, well, he moved
- 47:06Speaker 1: to l A two weeks ago. It's something that's been
- 47:09Speaker 1: the back of his mind for some time. Nate wants
- 47:12Speaker 1: to get into modeling. He's still doing tech sales, so
- 47:15Speaker 1: modeling would be more of a hobby. He's enjoying the summer,
- 47:18Speaker 1: getting to spend time with family and friends and getting
- 47:20Speaker 1: situated in l A. And he'll be doing more traveling,
- 47:23Speaker 1: like to Cancoon in August. This is what a source says.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Super interesting because we all know that Michelle wanted to
- 47:29Speaker 1: say in Minnesota wondering if him wanting to move to
- 47:34Speaker 1: l A was a thing. Well, we just have a
- 47:38Speaker 1: few more to break down today. Uh, the air day
- 47:42Speaker 1: of Bachelor Nations Celebrity Family Feud episode revealed. Um, this
- 47:48Speaker 1: is a fun this is always a fun thing to do.
- 47:49Speaker 1: It feels like a lot of the people that are
- 47:52Speaker 1: a part of their kind of podcast network were invited
- 47:55Speaker 1: and then some recent people from Bachelor in Paradise. Actually,
- 47:58Speaker 1: what do we know? We know that Joe, Serena, Kenny,
- 48:02Speaker 1: Marie Thomas, Becket kouffriend Michelle, Oh my gosh, Nate's is
- 48:08Speaker 1: this tape earlier? Mike Johnson and Rodney will all be
- 48:12Speaker 1: in an episode that was taped back in March and
- 48:16Speaker 1: it's going to be airing on Sunday, August seven at
- 48:19Speaker 1: eight o'clock on ABC. Well, the Bachelor host Jesse Palmer
- 48:24Speaker 1: and wife Emily Fardo have second wedding in France. Is
- 48:28Speaker 1: according to e t If you guys don't know Jesse,
- 48:32Speaker 1: what has been married for over a year now. Um,
- 48:35Speaker 1: but they had a wedding um last week, like a
- 48:40Speaker 1: formal wedding because the other one was more of like
- 48:42Speaker 1: an officiating you know, like it's like a sign the
- 48:45Speaker 1: paperwork type thing. And they got married in chateau, a
- 48:51Speaker 1: beautiful chateau. I don't don't get a bunch of the
- 48:53Speaker 1: name Chateau de la Naudi. I know, why did I
- 48:58Speaker 1: even try that? That was pretty? But this is what
- 49:00Speaker 1: Jesse said. After canceling our wedding twice due to COVID
- 49:04Speaker 1: and then eloping in Connecticut, Emily and I finally tied
- 49:08Speaker 1: the knot again in front of our immediate families in Province, France.
- 49:13Speaker 1: Everything was perfect and it's been the day that we've
- 49:16Speaker 1: been envisioned, envisioning for the past three years. Such a
- 49:19Speaker 1: magical day full of love tears. Maybe I cried a
- 49:22Speaker 1: lot um and gratitude. It took longer to get here
- 49:26Speaker 1: than expected, but we made it. You guys can check
- 49:29Speaker 1: out the instagrams online. They are amazing, so so cool
- 49:34Speaker 1: to like see the Bachelor host and get married in
- 49:37Speaker 1: the midst of the season. It just feels like ultra romantic. Yeah,
- 49:40Speaker 1: it seems like a romantic wedding. Well, the Bachelor. It's
- 49:43Speaker 1: Jed Wyatt. Do you remember him? Is engaged to girlfriend
- 49:46Speaker 1: Ellen Decker. The greatest joy of my life, Yeah, he
- 49:51Speaker 1: says in an Instagram Ellen, you are the greatest joy
- 49:54Speaker 1: of my life. Getting to spend so much time with
- 49:57Speaker 1: you has taught me so m Above all, our ability
- 50:01Speaker 1: to work through difficult situations has been very impressive. We
- 50:05Speaker 1: never turn and run on each other. We face life
- 50:09Speaker 1: head on and figure it out. We had people doubt
- 50:12Speaker 1: us and we would laugh. We had days where we
- 50:15Speaker 1: drove each other nuts and we would always come back
- 50:17Speaker 1: to resolve. We're rooted in a love deeper than anything
- 50:21Speaker 1: I could have prayed for. They've been dating for three
- 50:26Speaker 1: years and they got engaged on July in Franklin, Tennessee. Hey,
- 50:32Speaker 1: that's where I got engaged Franklin. Yeah, that's so crazy.
- 50:35Speaker 1: That's so crazy. Uh. This just brings up because anytime
- 50:38Speaker 1: you think Jed y, you obviously have to think Hannah Brown.
- 50:41Speaker 1: Is it like, is that the thing where Hannah Brown's
- 50:44Speaker 1: brother is dating Jed's X. Yeah? There aren't they engaged.
- 50:49Speaker 1: They're engaged. I wonder if, like where that relationship stands.
- 50:53Speaker 1: I wonder how that's doing. We'll have to inquire. We'll
- 50:56Speaker 1: have to look into that a little bit. Hey, that's
- 50:58Speaker 1: all the headlines we have for you today. It's been
- 51:00Speaker 1: a great episode. Thanks for joining us for another breakdown
- 51:04Speaker 1: of the Bachelorette. This has been episode three of the season.
- 51:08Speaker 1: So we'll be back next week breaking down more. In fact, Ashley,
- 51:12Speaker 1: uh will be going to Tahoe this next week. I'll
- 51:15Speaker 1: be there with my wife Jessica. Yes, we will be there. Okay, Okay,
- 51:21Speaker 1: we'll be working very hard. We'll be together. Um. Doing
- 51:25Speaker 1: this podcast is gonna be a lot of fun. Can't
- 51:27Speaker 1: wait to get to Tahoe. Can't wait to get on
- 51:29Speaker 1: a trip with my wife and see you in person.
- 51:31Speaker 1: It's been too long, Ashley. So until then, I've been been.
- 51:36Speaker 1: I've been Ashley. See you guys. Thank you so much
- 51:39Speaker 1: for listening. Follow the Benn and Ashley I Almost Famous
