- 0:00Speaker 1: Let's start off with Wicked because it's on our minds.
- 0:03Speaker 1: Donalds and I both loved it very much.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Joel, did you very much?
- 0:07Speaker 3: I did.
- 0:08Speaker 4: Zach text me and he was like, so, when are
- 0:10Speaker 4: you seeing Wicked? And I said, have tickets for the
- 0:12Speaker 4: singalong on Christmas? And he said that's too far away.
- 0:15Speaker 4: And so then I called my dad and I was like,
- 0:17Speaker 4: how did you like Gladiator? He's like, I took your
- 0:18Speaker 4: mom to see Wicked instead, and I was like, how.
- 0:20Speaker 3: Did you like it? He's like, Joelle, I loved it.
- 0:22Speaker 4: And my dad doesn't get he's a really medium guy,
- 0:24Speaker 4: so he says, loved it. I was like, let me
- 0:26Speaker 4: strap it. So I bought some tickets, said.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Whoa, it was so good.
- 0:31Speaker 2: It's literally the Citizen Kane of musical adaptations. It is
- 0:37Speaker 2: the Citizen.
- 0:37Speaker 3: I'm gonna agree with you.
- 0:39Speaker 2: I think the closest. I mean, there's, of course, there's
- 0:42Speaker 2: several movies that have come before that are are really
- 0:46Speaker 2: sound of music. Greece, Chicauiz, The Wizard of Oz, Chicago.
- 0:53Speaker 2: I mean, I'm not sold on that one as much
- 0:55Speaker 2: as I'm sold on we don't need to but let's
- 1:00Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell you something right now. Wicked is you
- 1:04Speaker 2: know La La Lands was still my favorite musical.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Yeah, but that's not an adaptations, not an adaptation.
- 1:10Speaker 2: As far as adaptation goes, this is damn near perfect.
- 1:14Speaker 2: I'm trying to find flaws.
- 1:17Speaker 1: I had a couple of notes. I had a couple notes.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I'm not love to hear them. Well. Before I get
- 1:23Speaker 1: to my couple notes, I will also say I loved it.
- 1:25Speaker 1: I thought John Chu did a fantastic job. Myron Kirstine,
- 1:31Speaker 1: who edited the movie, has cut three of my four movies,
- 1:34Speaker 1: so I'm very proud and happy for him. I thought
- 1:37Speaker 1: it was brilliantly edited. Everything, every department, every crafts person
- 1:42Speaker 1: who worked on those sets, enormous sets, and the choreography
- 1:46Speaker 1: and the costumes, and I mean it was just epic.
- 1:51Speaker 1: I was saying to my nephew, who loves Marvel movies,
- 1:53Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't get to see money spent like
- 1:56Speaker 1: this for my interests, and this, I felt like, was
- 1:59Speaker 1: like getting to see two hundred million dollars or whatever
- 2:03Speaker 1: it was spent on something that I would enjoy, And
- 2:07Speaker 1: it was so fun to watch all of that unfold.
- 2:10Speaker 2: But it's of the level of Marvel movies though. That's
- 2:12Speaker 2: the thing that's so great about it. It's like, if
- 2:15Speaker 2: you are a Marvel fan, or if you are a
- 2:18Speaker 2: fan of fantasy and wizards and dragons or whatever it is,
- 2:24Speaker 2: this movie also is for you, believe it or not.
- 2:28Speaker 2: This is one of those things where it's just undeniable.
- 2:31Speaker 2: I love the story that John Chuo talks about, tells
- 2:34Speaker 2: where George Lucas called him up right after leaving the
- 2:37Speaker 2: movie theater and he's like, listen, I don't know if
- 2:40Speaker 2: you know this. I'm a filmmaker myself. And John's like, okay.
- 2:45Speaker 1: I didn't even see this video. That's funny, said that
- 2:48Speaker 1: to me, and.
- 2:49Speaker 2: He's like, you get it. You did it right. You understood,
- 2:53Speaker 2: you understood the assignment, and you went out there and
- 2:56Speaker 2: you executed it. I'm really excited to see part two spoiler.
- 3:00Speaker 1: It's amazing. Out of wait a year, that's crazy.
- 3:02Speaker 2: But this is the longest instrument intermission ever.
- 3:05Speaker 1: And it's done by the way it's done.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Yeah, well it's locked already.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Well I don't know that to be a fact, but
- 3:11Speaker 1: bring I don't. I don't know that to be a fact,
- 3:14Speaker 1: but I don't. I don't think and I could be
- 3:17Speaker 1: wrong that they were always planning on breaking into two movies.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I could be totally wrong, but that made me think
- 3:24Speaker 1: that I suppose when they decided to make it two movies,
- 3:28Speaker 1: they were like, all right, put that to the side,
- 3:29Speaker 1: let's risk work on this. We have a year, and
- 3:33Speaker 1: then obviously let's not buried lead. I thought that both
- 3:37Speaker 1: the well, all the whole cast, but the two ladies
- 3:40Speaker 1: were just absolutely perfect.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Arrivo and Grande. Yeah, yes, Citia Arrivo and Ariana Grande.
- 3:48Speaker 2: I mean, I'm gonna say I think Ariana Grande deserves
- 3:50Speaker 2: an Oscar. That's just me personally.
- 3:52Speaker 1: She's definitely nominated.
- 3:54Speaker 2: I think she stole the movie. I think I think
- 3:56Speaker 2: it was meant for her to steal the first act.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Oh, Joel, they look at you. Well's reaction to that,
- 4:01Speaker 1: Joelle did a head twist.
- 4:03Speaker 2: I think the second act is all a revo if
- 4:06Speaker 2: I remember correctly. But Arianna's first. You know, they don't
- 4:11Speaker 2: unleash Cynthia until the dance, and that's pretty much the
- 4:15Speaker 2: end of the movie.
- 4:15Speaker 4: At that are you see the Wizard of the Wizard
- 4:19Speaker 4: and I and my whole audience broke out into it
- 4:21Speaker 4: was our first applause break of four. I think the
- 4:24Speaker 4: Wizard and I, which is Cynthia's first song where she goes,
- 4:27Speaker 4: oh my god, Bret taking on the plane and giving
- 4:30Speaker 4: you all of the sound of music, kind of feels sure.
- 4:34Speaker 2: But it's early on in the movie, and at that
- 4:36Speaker 2: point you're looking for you're looking for I'm just saying it,
- 4:40Speaker 2: in the earlier parts of the movie, you're looking for
- 4:42Speaker 2: the comedy, the pace, and all of that stuff to
- 4:44Speaker 2: be introduced. By the time they get to the ballroom
- 4:50Speaker 2: and she walks in with the hat, that's when it
- 4:53Speaker 2: becomes a remote from that.
- 4:55Speaker 1: I think you just, well, who knows, but I think
- 4:57Speaker 1: you're reacting to the fact that Arianna has almost every
- 4:59Speaker 1: li in the movie except for Bowen Yang, who was
- 5:04Speaker 1: very funny. So funny, yeah, so, but you know Ariana's
- 5:10Speaker 1: comic timing. Of course, her choice I mean crush her
- 5:13Speaker 1: voice is ridiculous, but also her comic timing was incredible.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I mean, in the popular number, all the little little
- 5:21Speaker 1: things she's doing.
- 5:22Speaker 4: When she's switching around on the floor, I was dying, dying,
- 5:27Speaker 4: And to Donald's point about being marvel, I was just
- 5:29Speaker 4: gonna say, really quick, like the flight sequence, breathtaking. And
- 5:33Speaker 4: we've seen a lot of flight in a lot of films,
- 5:36Speaker 4: and I thought to be able to bring a level
- 5:37Speaker 4: of originality and still like an ad inspiring element this
- 5:40Speaker 4: late in the flight on film game is really impressive.
- 5:44Speaker 1: I agree. First of all, the sets were clearly practical.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, so the sets just looked so. I mean,
- 5:54Speaker 1: I can't the amount of money they spent on those sets,
- 5:57Speaker 1: It's hard to imagine. And then so then the CGI
- 6:02Speaker 1: stuff didn't look bad at all. It all looked great.
- 6:05Speaker 1: I thought, yeah, do you know they like that tulip
- 6:08Speaker 1: field is real?
- 6:09Speaker 3: They played like millions of bulbs.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Sorry, Poppies, the poppies, Poppies amazing, John Chu, I mean
- 6:17Speaker 1: it's all him, man. I mean it's obviously everyone, all
- 6:20Speaker 1: those thousands of people that worked on the movie, but
- 6:22Speaker 1: I mean he led quite a team to that scale
- 6:27Speaker 1: of that movie is enormous.
- 6:30Speaker 2: That not only the scale, the pressure.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Yeah, to deliver, Yeah, for all of.
- 6:36Speaker 2: These people, for Arianna, for Cynthia. The pressure to deliver
- 6:42Speaker 2: was definitely on them and they did it. And they
- 6:45Speaker 2: it's like they it was like they were able to.
- 6:49Speaker 2: I don't know how, but you know, you you see
- 6:52Speaker 2: the interviews and they're crying, and you're like, I understand.
- 6:58Speaker 1: Speaking with Joelle. Can you playing to me what this
- 7:01Speaker 1: holding space thing is because I need you, my favorite
- 7:06Speaker 1: queer person, to break it down, because I don't know
- 7:11Speaker 1: what is happening is what is happening in that interview, So.
- 7:15Speaker 4: One I would just say that the original interview. I
- 7:17Speaker 4: think it's a misappropriation of the words, don't.
- 7:21Speaker 3: I don't.
- 7:22Speaker 4: To hold space for something is not to consider the
- 7:25Speaker 4: lyrics or find inspiration with. It's really usually sitting oftentimes
- 7:29Speaker 4: with something uncomfortable and making room and space for when
- 7:33Speaker 4: they're Usually as a society, we would not, So I
- 7:35Speaker 4: don't think it's an accurate use of the term. However,
- 7:39Speaker 4: I do think a lot of queer people love Alphaba
- 7:42Speaker 4: and identify with her. We saw Arianna and Cynthia on
- 7:47Speaker 4: a press tour, so you know, Alpha was probably a
- 7:49Speaker 4: little gay, just probably a little queer maybe, And so
- 7:52Speaker 4: I think what they were talking about was like in
- 7:54Speaker 4: this defying gravity, which if you don't know, the musical
- 7:57Speaker 4: sort of Alphaba, the which are the west like power anthem,
- 8:01Speaker 4: and it's this moment when she turns her back, I
- 8:02Speaker 4: want society expects her to do and really embraces herself,
- 8:05Speaker 4: and a lot of queer people can identify with that,
- 8:06Speaker 4: and I think that's what she was trying to suggest.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Right, So what she was trying to say was like
- 8:11Speaker 1: a lot of queer people identify with the lyrics of
- 8:14Speaker 1: defying gravity. It was a funny meme, though I.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Didn't understand it.
- 8:21Speaker 4: I've been using alling space inappropriately all over the place.
- 8:25Speaker 2: I can I just say one last thing about this
- 8:27Speaker 2: and then we can move on.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Yes.
- 8:29Speaker 2: I love the fact that they made defying Gravity not
- 8:34Speaker 2: this vindictive like in the play. At the when it
- 8:38Speaker 2: gets to the act break, she's wicked because she's so
- 8:41Speaker 2: pissed off at everything. Oh fuck everybody, I'm gonna fucking
- 8:44Speaker 2: get out of here, and fucking you don't like me.
- 8:46Speaker 2: I don't like you either. I'm wicked. And in this
- 8:48Speaker 2: they made it seem like there was hope at the end.
- 8:51Speaker 2: This woman's gonna save Oz. She's gonna be the one
- 8:53Speaker 2: that freaking brings everything back to the way it needs
- 8:56Speaker 2: to be. And I really want to commend the director
- 8:58Speaker 2: in doing that because it's so easy to go to
- 9:01Speaker 2: way of she's going dark, She's going dark side she
- 9:04Speaker 2: just went to the dark side. She doesn't go to
- 9:06Speaker 2: the dark side in this and this she becomes. She
- 9:08Speaker 2: does become the martyr, she does become the hero, you
- 9:11Speaker 2: know what I mean.
- 9:12Speaker 5: And so I was, I was, I was that blew
- 9:15Speaker 5: me away by the ending.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Was I'm getting goosebumps talk thinking about it. But I
- 9:20Speaker 1: cried multiple times and I was with Amanda and Elvis,
- 9:24Speaker 1: so I was I was in a safe space to
- 9:27Speaker 1: cry in the movies. I love crying in the movies anyway,
- 9:30Speaker 1: but without without spoilers obviously, that dance moment at the
- 9:35Speaker 1: at the you know, when they danced together, I just
- 9:38Speaker 1: thought that was so incredibly moving about just finally someone
- 9:43Speaker 1: having the courage to be by your side. That was
- 9:46Speaker 1: just And then at the end, I just sobbed. I
- 9:48Speaker 1: was like, not only was I crying for the movie,
- 9:50Speaker 1: but I was thinking about my father who's no longer
- 9:52Speaker 1: alive and he loved musicals, and I just thought I
- 9:56Speaker 1: was crying. They were happy tears because but I was
- 9:59Speaker 1: thinking like, oh gosh, my father would have loved this
- 10:02Speaker 1: so much. And Amanda knew my dad, so it was
- 10:05Speaker 1: nice to just had that moment of like, Wow, this
- 10:08Speaker 1: art moved me so much, and I'm so happy for
- 10:10Speaker 1: all of these people. And also, I don't know if
- 10:15Speaker 1: I've told this story, but you know, we had a
- 10:17Speaker 1: little memorial in my vegetable garden on my property for
- 10:23Speaker 1: Nick when he died. And Nick loved Cynthia Revo. I
- 10:27Speaker 1: don't know if they ever met, or if maybe they
- 10:31Speaker 1: were DM friends from Broadway or what have you. I
- 10:33Speaker 1: don't know that they had much relationship, but he loved her.
- 10:36Speaker 1: And when Nick was sick, Cynthia Eva reached out to
- 10:40Speaker 1: Amanda and said, like, I'm here for you if you
- 10:42Speaker 1: ever need anything. And when Nick was in a coma,
- 10:45Speaker 1: Amanda would would call, would text Cynthia, and she would say,
- 10:50Speaker 1: he's not in a great space. If you have a moment,
- 10:53Speaker 1: would you sing for him? And Cynthia, without fail, would
- 10:57Speaker 1: say absolutely, and she'd Facetimer and she would sing multiple songs,
- 11:01Speaker 1: including Amazing Grace to Nick while he was in a coma.
- 11:07Speaker 3: Oh that's beautiful.
- 11:08Speaker 1: And I just heard this recently from Amanda. And then
- 11:11Speaker 1: when Nick passed, Amanda reached out to her and said, hey,
- 11:17Speaker 1: you know, one of Nick's favorite moments in all of
- 11:19Speaker 1: Broadway was your big number in a color Purple on Broadway?
- 11:22Speaker 1: Would you consider coming singing it? And I don't know
- 11:25Speaker 1: if Cynthia thought like this was a big memorial like
- 11:28Speaker 1: in a church or something, but she said absolutely, And
- 11:30Speaker 1: there was like fifteen of us in my garden and
- 11:33Speaker 1: she came and sang Nick's favorite song.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Oh wow.
- 11:37Speaker 1: So that's a Cynthia rev story.
- 11:42Speaker 2: You know.
- 11:42Speaker 1: It's the kind of person she is.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I met her one time. Also, we did Anthony
- 11:46Speaker 2: Anderson's show to Tell the Truth, and we had a
- 11:50Speaker 2: little bit of downtime to just sit and shoot the shit,
- 11:54Speaker 2: and I just remember her turn to me, Donald, what
- 11:58Speaker 2: are your dreams dreams? And I was like what. She's like,
- 12:04Speaker 2: what are your dreams? Tell me what is it that
- 12:06Speaker 2: you dream of. I was like, well, I want to
- 12:07Speaker 2: be in Star Wars. I want to know. I just
- 12:10Speaker 2: unleashed and I was like, what about you? What are
- 12:12Speaker 2: your dreams? She said, you know, they're starting to come true.
- 12:16Speaker 2: They started to happen.
- 12:18Speaker 1: It's amazing.
- 12:18Speaker 2: It was.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm so happy for everybody involved. And the National
- 12:24Speaker 1: Water Review chose it as their best picture already, so
- 12:27Speaker 1: it'll definitely be in the competition.
- 12:30Speaker 2: It deserves it. It's it's if you are a fan
- 12:33Speaker 2: of action adventure, if you love romance, if you love SI,
- 12:38Speaker 2: if you love fantasy, if you look right, if you're
- 12:40Speaker 2: a fan of cinema period.
- 12:41Speaker 1: I want to go see it again. Actually I've seen.
- 12:43Speaker 2: It twice already. That's the crazy thing. It's not me.
- 12:47Speaker 2: It was my kids. We saw it the first time
- 12:49Speaker 2: when we got back from Vegas. We saw it, and
- 12:52Speaker 2: then the second time, it was two days later. My
- 12:56Speaker 2: son goes, you know what, let's go see Wicked again.
- 12:59Speaker 1: And I was like, what, I'm surprised it was your
- 13:02Speaker 1: son and not your daughter.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Well, you know, Rock likes certain things, you know what
- 13:07Speaker 2: I mean, his whole thing is and it's gonna sound
- 13:10Speaker 2: horrible and I'm not raising him to be this way.
- 13:13Speaker 2: But he said to me, dang Arianna got a gat.
- 13:18Speaker 1: What I certainly didn't. I didn't notice are having a yah?
- 13:25Speaker 2: Are you kidding me? When she's swinging on that thing,
- 13:28Speaker 2: That yat is nice and walking around in them dresses,
- 13:32Speaker 2: that yat is nice. That's what That's what my son was.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Your son wanted to go see the gyat.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Well, you know, I think he's I think things are
- 13:39Speaker 2: starting to change on him. He's starting to have starting
- 13:43Speaker 2: he's starting to have a little odor under the arms
- 13:45Speaker 2: and stuff.
- 13:45Speaker 1: All right, Yeah, well, speaking of that, since we're on
- 13:51Speaker 1: movies and deodorant. I finally am late to the party,
- 13:54Speaker 1: but I watched Inside Out too.
- 13:57Speaker 4: Okay, Oh gosh, that was beautiful too.
- 14:02Speaker 2: Yeah, which did you like better? One or two?
- 14:06Speaker 1: I think I don't. I think I don't know. I
- 14:09Speaker 1: think too. But I thought it was so moving and
- 14:12Speaker 1: I was just so blown away by the screenplay. I'm
- 14:15Speaker 1: sitting there going, whoever wrote this is so fucking genius, Like,
- 14:19Speaker 1: what a screenplay.
- 14:21Speaker 4: My favorite thing about that movie is they brought in
- 14:23Speaker 4: teenage girls to tell them if they were getting the
- 14:25Speaker 4: script right. Like multiple times they would come in the
- 14:28Speaker 4: girls like we wouldn't talk this way or we would
- 14:30Speaker 4: never leave a friend in that way. And I was like,
- 14:32Speaker 4: you can really feel the presence of young minded people
- 14:36Speaker 4: throughout the script. And yeah, it's surprising all the ways
- 14:39Speaker 4: you sort of think they're going to lean into bullying,
- 14:41Speaker 4: they don't, and it's really this kid against her poor self.
- 14:45Speaker 4: And oh yeah, it's a beautiful story. I like it
- 14:47Speaker 4: a lot.
- 14:48Speaker 1: I thought I thought like screenplay was excellent. I mean,
- 14:51Speaker 1: I was so.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Smart I really did like that movie. Also, a Nora.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Have we talked about a Nora?
- 14:58Speaker 2: No, but everybody that girl all the rave.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Joel, have you seen a Nora.
- 15:02Speaker 4: I haven't seen a Noura yet. It's on the list,
- 15:04Speaker 4: so well, I know I gotta get that.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Oh don't you get screeners.
- 15:07Speaker 3: I'm so sorry.
- 15:08Speaker 4: I guess some screeners not all they you know, the Disney's,
- 15:11Speaker 4: the Marvels, the sci fi is really hit me up.
- 15:13Speaker 3: I got a fight for the smaller indies.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Oh well, I highly recommend Nora to everybody. It's uh,
- 15:18Speaker 1: it's I think one of the best movies I've seen
- 15:21Speaker 1: this year. And what's so exciting about it is it's
- 15:23Speaker 1: nobody in the cast is famous. It's just it's just
- 15:25Speaker 1: an incredible screenplay with incredible actors, really well done. That
- 15:30Speaker 1: young lady could win an Oscar.
- 15:31Speaker 2: I mean that's what they're saying. They're saying, she's what's.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Her name is, Ajeel Mikey Madsen, Mia Madsen. She was
- 15:38Speaker 1: on Better Things, the TV show as a teenage girl.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Now she's in this movie and I thought I assumed
- 15:46Speaker 1: from her performance that she was like an East Coast
- 15:50Speaker 1: like really talk like this character that she plays, and
- 15:53Speaker 1: then I saw an interview with her and she's nothing
- 15:55Speaker 1: like that, and so it just means that, like it
- 15:58Speaker 1: was like double whammy of how talented she is. She gives,
- 16:01Speaker 1: she gives, she gives one of the best performances of
- 16:03Speaker 1: the year for sure.
- 16:05Speaker 2: I'm I you know, I haven't seen it, but I
- 16:08Speaker 2: will see it. There's you know, I all, there's actually
- 16:13Speaker 2: Star Wars actually has a good show.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Again, Guys, why can't we just avoid Star Wars.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Because it's called Skeleton Crew Skeleton It's called Skeleton Crew,
- 16:24Speaker 2: and it's fucking really good. Dude, the first two episodes,
- 16:29Speaker 2: the first two episodes. And I'm not saying this because
- 16:32Speaker 2: I'm a Star Wars fan either. I'm saying this because
- 16:35Speaker 2: this ship is actually really good. Like this reminds me
- 16:40Speaker 2: of my youth, the movies I watched as a kid, Goonies,
- 16:44Speaker 2: Flight of the Navigator, Explorers, Like this movie hits all
- 16:50Speaker 2: a poltergeist, everything that Stranger Things tries to do. This
- 16:55Speaker 2: one does it in a Star Wars universe, which is
- 16:58Speaker 2: kind of unheard of. Like people want their Star Wars
- 17:01Speaker 2: a certain way, but this, dude found I'm begetting the
- 17:05Speaker 2: creator of the shows. And I know it's Boloney and Favro,
- 17:09Speaker 2: but the guy who is the showrunner for the show,
- 17:13Speaker 2: what an amazing he did Spider Man, he did John
- 17:17Speaker 2: something right.
- 17:18Speaker 3: John Watson, Christopher Ford.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Yeah, amazing, well done, like way to bring it. And
- 17:26Speaker 2: what's great is that Star Wars fans are now happy and.
- 17:32Speaker 3: This is looking united out there.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Hasn't the last time that this has happened? Is I
- 17:40Speaker 2: don't even think Return of the Jedi had, you know
- 17:43Speaker 2: what I mean? There are people that are like fucking walks,
- 17:49Speaker 2: are you kidding me? And a lot of Star Wars to.
- 17:56Speaker 3: Watch Star Wars show.
- 17:58Speaker 4: It was saved because it was critically acclaimed, and Disney
- 18:01Speaker 4: was like, yeah, we love a statue, like do another season.
- 18:04Speaker 1: Oh but I love this, I guess because I'm not
- 18:06Speaker 1: in the core audience. I love dan Or. I thought
- 18:09Speaker 1: it was the.
- 18:10Speaker 3: Best, as you should it is.
- 18:11Speaker 4: To me, it's the best one, but it's not universally beloved.
- 18:14Speaker 4: I will say about Skeleton Crew. I've seen the first
- 18:17Speaker 4: three episodes. They're fabulous. I'm excited for episode four because
- 18:20Speaker 4: the Daniels are directing it, which should be really interesting.
- 18:23Speaker 4: And then Bryce Dallas has the Christmas episode, which I
- 18:25Speaker 4: bet will be spectacular.
- 18:28Speaker 3: And yeah, it's really funy.
- 18:29Speaker 4: Usually I'm not into the whole kids show, but I
- 18:30Speaker 4: really feel like there's an element of this that makes
- 18:33Speaker 4: me feel like I'm ten years old. It makes me
- 18:35Speaker 4: want to share it with my cousins, Like it's very
- 18:37Speaker 4: easy to fall in love with these kids, and they
- 18:39Speaker 4: feel like they're in real danger, which doesn't usually happen
- 18:42Speaker 4: in a Disney property. But I'm like, these kids should
- 18:44Speaker 4: not be on the ship or on the planet they're
- 18:46Speaker 4: going to how do they get home? It's so scary
- 18:48Speaker 4: and oh and the best part is they built in
- 18:50Speaker 4: a real mystery where you're like, what the hell is
- 18:52Speaker 4: happening here?
- 18:52Speaker 3: Like where do they come from? What is this planet there?
- 18:56Speaker 4: And usually the last couple of mysteries we've been set
- 18:58Speaker 4: up on in Star Wars have been flopped, so it's
- 19:01Speaker 4: nice to see them really nail that.
- 19:03Speaker 2: I went into it thinking I wasn't expecting a lot,
- 19:08Speaker 2: and by the end of the first episode, I was like, next, please,
- 19:10Speaker 2: next episode now. And I watched the second episode and
- 19:14Speaker 2: as soon as that shit ended, I was like, damn,
- 19:16Speaker 2: I can't wait till Monday.
- 19:17Speaker 3: Is Rocco liking it.
- 19:19Speaker 2: He hasn't watched it yet. I have to I have
- 19:21Speaker 2: to say they haven't watched it yet. I can't. I
- 19:25Speaker 2: can't wait to show them though.
- 19:28Speaker 5: Here's some stories about show we made about a bunch
- 19:33Speaker 5: of talks and nurses.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Sah.
- 19:37Speaker 5: He said, he's a story nextlas No so yander around
- 19:43Speaker 5: you here, up, yander round here expect show is no.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Donald. I want to welcome to the podcast for the
- 19:56Speaker 1: first time, my foster puppy, Penny.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Hello, Penny.
- 20:03Speaker 3: Penny's trying to take a nap, petty Please.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Isn't she cute?
- 20:07Speaker 3: She's the cutest.
- 20:09Speaker 1: I'm in love with her.
- 20:10Speaker 2: Yeah, you are.
- 20:11Speaker 1: They already called someone. They already called me today saying
- 20:13Speaker 1: someone wants to adopt her. I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa,
- 20:15Speaker 1: everybody calm down.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Penny likes it here.
- 20:20Speaker 1: I am fostering. Oh look at her. I am fostering.
- 20:23Speaker 1: She was living in the worst conditions in this shelter.
- 20:26Speaker 1: And she spent two months in this like cement cell
- 20:31Speaker 1: with no bed even not even a blanket.
- 20:34Speaker 2: WHOA off the couch?
- 20:37Speaker 1: She just like dreamed off the couch.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Just fell off the couch.
- 20:40Speaker 1: You're right baby. Anyway, she's uh, she's fun, she's really sweet,
- 20:45Speaker 1: she's sweet.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Love it, I love it. I love that you found
- 20:47Speaker 2: one too.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Well we are. I wasn't planning on being asked if
- 20:52Speaker 1: I wanted to keep her this quickly. But the woman
- 20:54Speaker 1: who I'm fostering for was like, we have a lot
- 20:56Speaker 1: of interest from Penny, and I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 20:59Speaker 2: Everybody down, Well, you made the mistake of showing your
- 21:02Speaker 2: dog on your Instagram. That was the mistake.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Well, I want to help her. I wanted to help
- 21:08Speaker 1: her get adopted to an amazing home. In the intervening
- 21:11Speaker 1: days we have become quite close Penny and I.
- 21:22Speaker 2: I love it. I love it.
- 21:23Speaker 1: She's a big, eighty pound pit and but she's a sweetheart.
- 21:27Speaker 1: And she looks like she she's got very you know,
- 21:32Speaker 1: it looks like she was used to breed because she's
- 21:35Speaker 1: got you know, big teats. She's a she's but I
- 21:40Speaker 1: don't know. Someone wrote that poor thing was used to
- 21:44Speaker 1: make babies, and I'm so happy you're babying her, and
- 21:47Speaker 1: that really hit my heart. Anyway, we have so many topics,
- 21:53Speaker 1: which one do you one? You want to go next to?
- 21:54Speaker 1: Donald I got, Uh we should talk about we have
- 21:57Speaker 1: Here's what I wrote down. You tell me which one
- 21:59Speaker 1: you want to do next?
- 22:00Speaker 2: Okay?
- 22:01Speaker 1: Uh? Vegas.
- 22:03Speaker 2: Well that's what this podcast is about today, right, our
- 22:06Speaker 2: Vegas experience.
- 22:07Speaker 1: Well, it could be about anything. Do you want to
- 22:09Speaker 1: go to Vegas? Do you want to go to merch?
- 22:11Speaker 1: Do you want to go to you giving up weed?
- 22:13Speaker 1: Do you want to go to school?
- 22:14Speaker 2: Let's go to be giving up weed. Let's go to
- 22:16Speaker 2: me giving up weed.
- 22:16Speaker 1: All right, So audience, you might think, oh God, roll
- 22:19Speaker 1: your eyes. Donald's talking about giving up weed, but when
- 22:21Speaker 1: we went to Vegas, he decided to use that as
- 22:26Speaker 1: a launching point.
- 22:27Speaker 2: Right, quit cold turkey, Yes, which is.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Very hard for those of you who don't know for
- 22:31Speaker 1: someone who smokes every day all day, tell everyone how
- 22:36Speaker 1: it went or how it's going, because you're now.
- 22:38Speaker 2: It's it's yeah, it's miserable.
- 22:41Speaker 1: But oh I thought you were doing better.
- 22:43Speaker 2: No, I am doing better now. But the it's you
- 22:46Speaker 2: know now, the the craving is back, you know what
- 22:51Speaker 2: I mean? Like I was having a conversation with my
- 22:52Speaker 2: brother on FaceTime and he's sitting there blowing weed into
- 22:56Speaker 2: the camera and shit like that, and it was like
- 22:59Speaker 2: he wasn't doing it on purpose. He doesn't know that
- 23:01Speaker 2: I've quit, you know what I mean. And he's blowing
- 23:04Speaker 2: it into the camera and as he's doing it, I'm
- 23:06Speaker 2: trying to catch the vapors on the side. The motherfucker. Yeah,
- 23:12Speaker 2: through through, right through FaceTime. It's very difficult. And I'm
- 23:17Speaker 2: not gonna sit here and bullshit anybody and say And
- 23:21Speaker 2: I don't want to be the guy that says you
- 23:22Speaker 2: need to quit too. I don't want to be a preacher.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Yeah, we talk about your experience.
- 23:28Speaker 2: I had night sweats for about a week and a half.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Every time I tried to fall asleep. I lost twenty
- 23:39Speaker 2: pounds and almost two weeks, like because I couldn't eat.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Yeah, for real, I saw him at dinner. We went
- 23:44Speaker 1: to dinner and his face you probably can't see it
- 23:47Speaker 1: because it's all pixelate right now, but he lost so
- 23:50Speaker 1: much weight in just his face.
- 23:52Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's waterweight obviously from the sweating and the
- 23:57Speaker 2: not eating and stuff.
- 23:58Speaker 1: I should get into sonning, dude, get rid of all
- 24:01Speaker 1: more of it.
- 24:02Speaker 2: I'm into losing weight the healthy way right now. But
- 24:05Speaker 2: as far as as far as quitting goes, it's been
- 24:08Speaker 2: very difficult, but I ain't going back. Man.
- 24:11Speaker 1: This has he been irritable to your wife? Absolutely, Casey
- 24:16Speaker 1: said at dinner, she goes, next time you do this,
- 24:18Speaker 1: you need to go away for a while.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Well, the prospector has spoken.
- 24:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm sick and tired of your irre ability, irritability.
- 24:33Speaker 2: But you know it's it's The crazy thing is is
- 24:36Speaker 2: that you know, the phlim is just starting to clear
- 24:41Speaker 2: up in my lungs and stuff like that, and I'm
- 24:44Speaker 2: not and I don't feel like I have bronchitis anymore.
- 24:48Speaker 2: And I was smoking a lot of weed and this
- 24:52Speaker 2: is this was definitely a good idea for me. I'm
- 24:55Speaker 2: not saying everybody else needs to do it right, but
- 24:58Speaker 2: I'm not going to smoke weed again.
- 24:59Speaker 1: I think, well, by the way, what's funny is last
- 25:01Speaker 1: night he's like, we should get dinner again on Monday.
- 25:05Speaker 1: And I'm all I'm thinking is like, the dude is
- 25:07Speaker 1: off weed for two weeks and all of a sudden
- 25:09Speaker 1: he's making plans.
- 25:10Speaker 2: I was, I don't want to stay home anymore.
- 25:12Speaker 1: I was like, I was like swiping tears from my eyes.
- 25:15Speaker 2: I don't want to stay home anymore. This house reminds
- 25:18Speaker 2: me of marijuana.
- 25:20Speaker 1: No. I mean, you definitely lived up to one of
- 25:23Speaker 1: the sweeping stereotypes of a full time stoner is not
- 25:26Speaker 1: wanting to leave the house. And I know that's not
- 25:29Speaker 1: true for all of you out there who do that,
- 25:31Speaker 1: but this particular stoner, Donald Faison, was was a homebody,
- 25:35Speaker 1: and I like the idea that you might leave your
- 25:37Speaker 1: house more.
- 25:38Speaker 2: Well. I go to the gym now almost every day.
- 25:41Speaker 1: My trainer was asking about you, by the way, why
- 25:45Speaker 1: he just likes you, And he was like, how's Donald doing?
- 25:47Speaker 1: How's how's the weed? Is he? Is he working out
- 25:49Speaker 1: at all? And I was like, he actually just quit?
- 25:52Speaker 1: And I was and he was like, oh, good, good?
- 25:54Speaker 1: Is he what's he doing? Is he boxing? Is he
- 25:56Speaker 1: working out? And I didn't know what the answer was.
- 25:58Speaker 2: I am working out, I am boxing, I am I'm
- 26:00Speaker 2: back into the MMA again, you know what I mean? Good?
- 26:03Speaker 1: Yeah, you got you like that form of exercise I do.
- 26:06Speaker 2: I like lifting weights too, but I like striking a lot.
- 26:08Speaker 2: I like kicking, I like wrestling.
- 26:11Speaker 1: You should get fit, bro, you should get fucking fit. Fit.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Well, we have a reason to nowadays too, you know
- 26:16Speaker 2: what I mean, Like, we have a super duper it
- 26:19Speaker 2: looks like we're gonna have another shot at this thing
- 26:22Speaker 2: called Scrubs.
- 26:23Speaker 1: You know, Oh, do you want to go into Scrubs reboot?
- 26:26Speaker 2: I mean I think that's a good set.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Is that's your segue into Scrubs reboot from from what
- 26:30Speaker 1: I've written down as giving up Weed?
- 26:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's a good segue. I gave up
- 26:35Speaker 2: Weed to do Scrubs.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Well, this is a funny time to talk about this audience,
- 26:39Speaker 1: because I'm not sure when this airs will decide, but uh,
- 26:43Speaker 1: today it broke on both Deadline and Variety that uh there.
- 26:47Speaker 2: In uh, Bill's deal is done.
- 26:50Speaker 1: Bill has Bill has closed the deal to do a
- 26:52Speaker 1: Scrubs reboot.
- 26:53Speaker 3: Oh yes, did you know that?
- 26:56Speaker 1: Joelle? That's amazing, Joell Dane. I'm not here to tell
- 27:00Speaker 1: you to talk into your microphone.
- 27:09Speaker 3: I'm very excited for you guys.
- 27:12Speaker 1: You know we uh this has been in the works
- 27:15Speaker 1: for a long time, and obviously this doesn't mean it's
- 27:17Speaker 1: one hundred percent, it's just it's in development. But uh,
- 27:20Speaker 1: it's this is the first time they've made any sort
- 27:22Speaker 1: of announcement about it, so that's sort of exciting. The
- 27:25Speaker 1: idea that we could do some new incarnation of the
- 27:28Speaker 1: show that we're all you know here for.
- 27:32Speaker 2: I'm really excited to see what it is because literally
- 27:37Speaker 2: we don't we Zach, myself and the rest of the
- 27:41Speaker 2: cast have zero idea what Bill has planned.
- 27:44Speaker 1: I don't think Bill knows what he has planned.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Okay, well, no, I mean I don't.
- 27:50Speaker 1: I don't think he does. I think it's like, okay,
- 27:52Speaker 1: let's figure out I do. I think we can say
- 27:54Speaker 1: that it's not it's not going to be like they're
- 27:56Speaker 1: doing with the Office, like a whole new cast. The
- 27:58Speaker 1: idea is to get us all about together and uh
- 28:02Speaker 1: and and figure out what that story is, which is
- 28:06Speaker 1: which is really exciting. But I don't think it's been
- 28:09Speaker 1: cracked yet. What the what, what the angle is.
- 28:13Speaker 2: I'm excited to find out what it is. I'm excited
- 28:15Speaker 2: to find out what our characters are up to and
- 28:18Speaker 2: what they will be and or what what version of
- 28:22Speaker 2: the characters will be playing this time around. There's a
- 28:25Speaker 2: lot that's changed since Scrubs was on television twenty something
- 28:29Speaker 2: years ago.
- 28:30Speaker 1: We can't be as goofy.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Well, I don't know, I mean, I don't.
- 28:33Speaker 1: Know, because now we're in now we're in our late forties.
- 28:36Speaker 1: We can't be like young twenty.
- 28:39Speaker 2: I'm fifty.
- 28:40Speaker 1: I'm fifty years old.
- 28:42Speaker 2: I can kick, I can straight, But like, I, what
- 28:48Speaker 2: is it? What what you know? Like Ted Lasso shrinking
- 28:53Speaker 2: bad Monk, bad monkey, these guys all have a different
- 28:57Speaker 2: you know, Bill Lawrence stamp to it or you know,
- 29:00Speaker 2: and his new stamp is really interesting and it's it's
- 29:06Speaker 2: it's it's adult, but yet it still has very comedic
- 29:11Speaker 2: and heart and felt undertone.
- 29:14Speaker 1: So it's, yeah, well I think it'll still be Scrubs,
- 29:17Speaker 1: but it'll be you know, with the things that everyone
- 29:20Speaker 1: loves about Scrubs. But we're certainly so much older now,
- 29:23Speaker 1: so it's like, what, how are our lives different? And
- 29:26Speaker 1: how are we different? You know? I think about ourselves
- 29:29Speaker 1: in real life, you and I and we there's so
- 29:31Speaker 1: many ways where we're as silly as we were when
- 29:34Speaker 1: we were when we were you know, in twenty in
- 29:38Speaker 1: the year twenty twenty four years ago, and there's other
- 29:41Speaker 1: ways we're a lot more mature. And I think the
- 29:43Speaker 1: characters would, I imagine, would reflect that too.
- 29:46Speaker 2: I hope. So, like I want to go to Vegas
- 29:48Speaker 2: again with Bill so he can just study. Yes, let's
- 29:51Speaker 2: go to Vegas.
- 29:52Speaker 1: Wow, you just really showing off your transitions today, and
- 29:55Speaker 1: is your is this your hot fucking segue? I am
- 29:59Speaker 1: holding space for this segue.
- 30:06Speaker 2: Let's take a break. You know, my brain is a
- 30:09Speaker 2: little bit clearer.
- 30:10Speaker 1: I can see you, be honest, I can see that, Joelle.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Do you notice this motherfucker is two weeks off weed
- 30:16Speaker 1: and now he's fucking like elegantly threading transitions.
- 30:21Speaker 4: I don't want to support someone's softing lead because how
- 30:24Speaker 4: but also I'm just so proud of that.
- 30:28Speaker 1: I've never seen you do that before.
- 30:30Speaker 2: Donald, that was elegant, but I think we need to
- 30:33Speaker 2: do that again to be I'm just gonna be honest
- 30:35Speaker 2: with you. The last two times you and I have
- 30:38Speaker 2: been in Vegas have been pretty epic, amazing, more epic
- 30:41Speaker 2: than it's ever been other than wearing him Tiger is
- 30:44Speaker 2: at O it did, and wear them Tiger is at
- 30:47Speaker 2: This is.
- 30:49Speaker 1: Wear them Tigers at. You have to give people context.
- 30:51Speaker 1: That's when we were very young. We went and Donald
- 30:53Speaker 1: was wasted and he's walking through the MGM greens when
- 30:57Speaker 1: they still had the Tigers show, and he's like that,
- 31:00Speaker 1: I want to see somebody get bit.
- 31:02Speaker 2: And then it happened and then it happened.
- 31:05Speaker 4: I'm glad to explained it because I thought he was
- 31:07Speaker 4: referencing the Hangover, and I was no.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Donald Donald picture Donald strutting like like George Jefferson through
- 31:15Speaker 1: the MGM, being like, Wandham Tiger? Is that I want
- 31:18Speaker 1: to somebody to get.
- 31:19Speaker 2: A bit.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Donald?
- 31:23Speaker 2: But then it happened.
- 31:24Speaker 1: Yeah, then that's how long ago it was. The tigers
- 31:27Speaker 1: aren't I don't know if that are the tigers still there?
- 31:30Speaker 1: I know there's no show. No, there's no show. Obviously
- 31:34Speaker 1: there's no show, but I don't know if they still
- 31:36Speaker 1: have like an exhibit. Can you look that off? I'm curious.
- 31:40Speaker 2: It was because of it was because of Tracy Morgan's Brian.
- 31:43Speaker 1: Oh, that's what it was you were doing, Brian Fellows.
- 31:46Speaker 2: Wadham Tiger?
- 31:47Speaker 1: Is that wha tigers?
- 31:49Speaker 3: That?
- 31:49Speaker 2: For all that money, somebody better get bit That's.
- 31:52Speaker 1: What he said, You go, you go. All I know
- 31:54Speaker 1: is for all to have money, somebody better get bit bit.
- 32:00Speaker 2: I'm Brian Fellows.
- 32:02Speaker 1: Brian Fellows. I love Brian Fellows. I don't know why
- 32:06Speaker 1: it was so funny, but it.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Was because he would be mad.
- 32:09Speaker 1: It made no sense.
- 32:10Speaker 2: He would get sassy with the he got sassy with
- 32:13Speaker 2: a parrot. The parrot would I'm Brian Fellows. No you not.
- 32:17Speaker 1: I just can I just I could just watch Tracy
- 32:20Speaker 1: Morgan do anything. And I start to giggle.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a very funny man.
- 32:24Speaker 1: Joelle, are there tigers still? Mgm?
- 32:27Speaker 4: No, So there used to be lions in the habitats,
- 32:30Speaker 4: but Peter was like, no, yeah, and so now that
- 32:33Speaker 4: the habitats are still there, but the lions.
- 32:36Speaker 3: Are no longer.
- 32:37Speaker 1: What's in the habitat?
- 32:39Speaker 3: Habitat itself? Just lions used to be here, I guess.
- 32:43Speaker 1: Oh so people walk by and go, look an empty
- 32:45Speaker 1: habitat pretty much. Well, Donald and I we have to
- 32:49Speaker 1: give a shout out to T Mobile because they brought
- 32:52Speaker 1: us out to the F one Race for the second
- 32:54Speaker 1: year in a row, and it was so much fun.
- 32:58Speaker 2: It was epic. It was Listen, the first time we went,
- 33:03Speaker 2: we had fun. We were we weren't we We hadn't
- 33:07Speaker 2: yet experienced success in Vegas yet, you know what I mean?
- 33:12Speaker 1: Like, what do you mean?
- 33:14Speaker 2: Like, we've gone to Vegas before several times and have
- 33:17Speaker 2: yet to win money.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Oh?
- 33:19Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yet to yet to you know, Like, but
- 33:22Speaker 2: we only.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Really won money. The Bill Lawrence time when he was
- 33:25Speaker 1: rolling for a half hour on craps.
- 33:27Speaker 2: Yes, but every time before that we had not experienced it.
- 33:33Speaker 1: We only paid.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Yeah, Vegas was kind of depressing to us because every
- 33:38Speaker 2: time we went, the only time we would see money
- 33:40Speaker 2: was when atm spit it out for us, you know
- 33:42Speaker 2: what I mean.
- 33:43Speaker 1: We just got crushed at blackcheck always. And then we
- 33:45Speaker 1: started to discover craps this last couple of times thanks
- 33:48Speaker 1: to Andrew. Yeah, Andrew Watt and then Bill rolling for
- 33:52Speaker 1: a half hour really got me educated into the ins
- 33:55Speaker 1: and outs of crap.
- 33:57Speaker 2: Yes, and so we went back the time because Mobile
- 34:03Speaker 2: was like, you guys want to come come up?
- 34:05Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, we came. It was so fun.
- 34:07Speaker 2: It was not only was it fun, it was really cool,
- 34:10Speaker 2: like Snoop was there. Yeah, we got to. We got to.
- 34:13Speaker 2: You know, this is the first time where we're going
- 34:16Speaker 2: there as Vets of the T Mobile family, you know
- 34:19Speaker 2: what I mean, where you know, we're a staple in
- 34:22Speaker 2: that in the in their family. And it was really cool.
- 34:25Speaker 3: And this is for the F one race that happens
- 34:27Speaker 3: in Vegas every year.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Yes, T Mobiles. T Mobile is the sponsor of the
- 34:31Speaker 1: F one Race in Vegas. And for those of you
- 34:33Speaker 1: who don't know, they they shut down the streets of
- 34:36Speaker 1: Vegas and the F one race is through the streets
- 34:40Speaker 1: of Vegas at night. It's the same if you can
- 34:42Speaker 1: imagine the amount of logistics involved, and they do such
- 34:45Speaker 1: a cool job. And then they have these suites over
- 34:48Speaker 1: you know where where you know where all the pit
- 34:52Speaker 1: stops are for the cars, and uh so we're hanging
- 34:55Speaker 1: out the suite with all these amazing people, all the
- 35:00Speaker 1: T Mobile execs.
- 35:02Speaker 2: Well all of the execs that we that we know. Uh.
- 35:05Speaker 2: And then also just like the people that were coming
- 35:08Speaker 2: in from Snoop to mister Beast, to Ryan Bradley Cooper,
- 35:13Speaker 2: Ryan Tedder, Yeah.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Well tell him the story about what met mister Beast
- 35:18Speaker 1: did for your kids. That was so sweet.
- 35:20Speaker 2: He was like, yo, I was like, because I'm very
- 35:24Speaker 2: new to mister Beast, like within the last two months,
- 35:27Speaker 2: I just, you know, uh learned about him, and my
- 35:32Speaker 2: kids have known about him for a while. I remember
- 35:34Speaker 2: my son was like, my son was like, well, mister
- 35:36Speaker 2: Bee says, I said, boy, I don't give a shit
- 35:38Speaker 2: about mister Beest. And my son looked at me and
- 35:40Speaker 2: he said, well you should, because he's so much richer
- 35:42Speaker 2: than you are. Dad. I was like, they are, they
- 35:48Speaker 2: don't no censor. But then I meet him and you know,
- 35:52Speaker 2: I'm just going to give him props because I'm like
- 35:54Speaker 2: that with everybody. If you ask Zach, when I meet celebrities,
- 35:57Speaker 2: I get a little you know. He has to calm
- 35:59Speaker 2: me down sometimes, like, dude, don't get too fucking crazy.
- 36:03Speaker 2: You're going to meet such and such. Just don't don't.
- 36:05Speaker 2: Don't don't ask for a self.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Don't take ask for a selfie with Brad Pitt please.
- 36:09Speaker 2: I walk into the thing and I see Beast and
- 36:11Speaker 2: I'm like, yo, oh shit, dude, you have no idea.
- 36:14Speaker 2: My kids freaking love you. I'm a new fan of yours,
- 36:18Speaker 2: but they've been a fan of yours for a long time.
- 36:20Speaker 2: He's like, oh really, let's call him. I'm like what.
- 36:24Speaker 2: He's like, yeah, let's FaceTime them. Shut the fuck up.
- 36:27Speaker 1: No, first, you made a video first.
- 36:29Speaker 2: So then he goes, no, he tries to call, they
- 36:31Speaker 2: don't pick up. So he's like, let's make a video. Boom.
- 36:34Speaker 2: He makes the video. Then he says, then I take
- 36:36Speaker 2: the phone away and I go and I send the
- 36:39Speaker 2: video to my wife and then now I FaceTime my
- 36:42Speaker 2: wife and she picks up. She's like, are you fucking
- 36:43Speaker 2: kidding me with this? And I'm like hold on, and
- 36:48Speaker 2: I go back and I turn and I'm like, can
- 36:50Speaker 2: you talk to my kids again? He's like yeah, sure,
- 36:52Speaker 2: He grabs the phone. Wilder is like, oh, hello, mister beast.
- 36:57Speaker 2: How's it going? All cool and shit, you know, trying
- 37:00Speaker 2: to be she's more like her mom. Her mom's been
- 37:02Speaker 2: around a lot filds together, they show it to Rocco.
- 37:07Speaker 2: Rocco goes and he said, he's like, oh my god,
- 37:12Speaker 2: and he can't move and he's like frozen in time. Oh,
- 37:16Speaker 2: it's mister right. And he said to all of his
- 37:19Speaker 2: friends on the snapchat not they have a group chat,
- 37:24Speaker 2: and he was like, guys, I gotta go. Mister Beast
- 37:28Speaker 2: is uh calling my house right now. And they're like, bullshit, Rocco,
- 37:33Speaker 2: you don't know, mister Beasts, You're full of crap. And
- 37:37Speaker 2: so my wife sends him the video that mister Beasts
- 37:41Speaker 2: said earlier. He drops it into the chat. Mike drop.
- 37:48Speaker 1: He was really nice and really interesting. And his whole
- 37:51Speaker 1: squad he has all his you know, his whole group
- 37:53Speaker 1: that do all his videos with him. They were all
- 37:56Speaker 1: such nice people and really and really like we like
- 38:00Speaker 1: because everyone has questions like how the hell did you
- 38:02Speaker 1: guys do what you did? And they're all so nice
- 38:05Speaker 1: about answering questions and explaining it all. And yeah, I
- 38:08Speaker 1: thought they're really cool.
- 38:09Speaker 2: And and and you know, he has a connection to
- 38:15Speaker 2: a world that a lot of people don't understand yet.
- 38:18Speaker 2: And it's really starting to blossom as far as taking
- 38:23Speaker 2: over in the entertainment industry. So like, whereas you and
- 38:26Speaker 2: I go to the movies, and a lot of people
- 38:28Speaker 2: go to the movies, most kids watch TikTok or YouTube,
- 38:33Speaker 2: you know what I mean, where we watch Scrubs or
- 38:35Speaker 2: where we watch you know, Arrested Development. What. They've never
- 38:38Speaker 2: heard of these shows because they're strictly watching Kai or
- 38:43Speaker 2: Beast or Speed on YouTube.
- 38:46Speaker 1: By the way, he said he'd come on the podcast
- 38:48Speaker 1: he did. I think he'd be a great guest.
- 38:51Speaker 2: It would be interesting to talk to him about this
- 38:52Speaker 2: wave that's that's hitting well.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Also, just like his story is incredible. I mean, the
- 38:56Speaker 1: fact that he has reached the level of success and
- 39:00Speaker 1: he's such a he feels like a guy who's so
- 39:03Speaker 1: into everything. The algorithms, like how to crack it all.
- 39:06Speaker 1: Like he's so knowledgeable, he's like a scientist.
- 39:09Speaker 2: It would be good for us also just as a
- 39:11Speaker 2: podcast and how to promote our podcast and ways and
- 39:15Speaker 2: stuff like.
- 39:16Speaker 1: That's well, his buddy who's in charge of Instagram was
- 39:19Speaker 1: telling you all the stuff I didn't know about Instagram.
- 39:21Speaker 1: It was so interesting. I mean, they're they're like, they're
- 39:23Speaker 1: like data scientists. It's really interesting. We'll be right back
- 39:26Speaker 1: after these fine words.
- 39:29Speaker 3: But then I was going to ask you about the race.
- 39:34Speaker 3: I'm curious about the race, and so did guy? Did
- 39:36Speaker 3: you guys not watch the.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Race? Is awesome? You know, keep in mind, you only
- 39:44Speaker 1: see it when it comes by you, and it comes
- 39:47Speaker 1: by you like and then you and then you watch
- 39:50Speaker 1: it on TV. That's what's so funny about F one,
- 39:52Speaker 1: is like you only get a glimpse of it when
- 39:55Speaker 1: they race by it. And because we were above the
- 39:57Speaker 1: the the pit stop areas, we were lucky enough to
- 40:00Speaker 1: be able to look down and see the when they
- 40:02Speaker 1: pull in and change the tires and fuel up and
- 40:05Speaker 1: do whatever they do. That was really cool.
- 40:08Speaker 2: In less than six seconds. In less than six seconds.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Not even that it's like stop n take off. It
- 40:16Speaker 1: was incredible.
- 40:18Speaker 2: And if you and if you and if you're if
- 40:21Speaker 2: you're on a turn, you might see it a little
- 40:23Speaker 2: bit longer, but straightaways they just fly through straightaways.
- 40:28Speaker 1: Yeah. So it's a weird fun thing because you're there
- 40:30Speaker 1: and you're being social and you're and you're like, you know,
- 40:32Speaker 1: at basically a cocktail party if you're in one of
- 40:35Speaker 1: these suites. But then you're like, wait here they come.
- 40:39Speaker 1: And then you watch on TV.
- 40:41Speaker 2: Yeah and shout out to uh McLaren, I mean, what's
- 40:45Speaker 2: the Uh. They were very nice to us.
- 40:48Speaker 1: And well you you took a tour of the McLaren pit, right.
- 40:52Speaker 2: What yes?
- 40:53Speaker 1: Me?
- 40:53Speaker 2: Yeah, me, Bradley make it their beast and uh uh
- 40:58Speaker 2: we were the three that actually made it inside then
- 41:01Speaker 2: with your buddy, and then I ran into Aaron Taylor
- 41:03Speaker 2: Johnson who kick ass too, with yeah, man.
- 41:06Speaker 3: I just bought my tickets to Craven, very excited.
- 41:09Speaker 2: I'm listen man, this brother. I haven't seen him in
- 41:12Speaker 2: over ten years. And it was like, oh man, there's
- 41:16Speaker 2: pictures of us. Smile, the smile on my face, the
- 41:19Speaker 2: smile on his face. We kicked at hardcore back in
- 41:22Speaker 2: London and in Toronto when we made that movie, and
- 41:25Speaker 2: like we were, we were buds. You know what I mean.
- 41:27Speaker 2: I named my daughter after his I thought I named
- 41:30Speaker 2: my daughter after his daughter.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what I mean. You know that story.
- 41:34Speaker 1: He's wild.
- 41:37Speaker 2: Uh yeah, and you know, I it's it's it was.
- 41:41Speaker 2: It was just great to see him. I hadn't seen
- 41:44Speaker 2: him in a long time, and it was really good
- 41:45Speaker 2: to see him.
- 41:46Speaker 1: Yeah, it was super fun. And then we just they
- 41:50Speaker 1: just just threw a really amazing event. I mean, when
- 41:53Speaker 1: you think of the scale of the logistics of doing that,
- 41:57Speaker 1: it was just it's crazy to watch it all happened.
- 41:59Speaker 2: T Mobile.
- 42:00Speaker 1: The mobile came through. Thank you for inviting us. We
- 42:03Speaker 1: had a blast. And then we went back. Now here's
- 42:06Speaker 1: the funny story. We go back to the to the casino.
- 42:10Speaker 2: Now the story are we going to tell?
- 42:12Speaker 1: Yeah, you can tell a really crazy story that happened.
- 42:15Speaker 1: That's so embarrassing. I am willing to tell this story
- 42:20Speaker 1: that I think. I think, Wait, you don't, don't cut
- 42:23Speaker 1: to that part.
- 42:23Speaker 2: Yeah, let's start, all right, So we go to the
- 42:26Speaker 2: club Joelle, Okay, all right, we're all fam We.
- 42:30Speaker 1: Decided we're going to go to the club because you know,
- 42:32Speaker 1: we're in Vegas. When in Rome and it's packed, I mean,
- 42:37Speaker 1: f one fucking weekend at when this club is called
- 42:42Speaker 1: what's it called Excess Excess, the letters Excess. Yeah, So
- 42:47Speaker 1: we go there. Our friend Scott Sartiano, who's a famous
- 42:51Speaker 1: restaurant tour is like guiding us through the mayhem with
- 42:54Speaker 1: a bunch of friends, and we're like trying to hold
- 42:57Speaker 1: on staying, you know, connected to each other because he's
- 43:00Speaker 1: fucking packed, and he's leading us to a booth. But
- 43:04Speaker 1: all of a sudden we finally get to the booth,
- 43:06Speaker 1: it's so packed. Music's blaring. I think it's the Chainsmokers, right, Donald.
- 43:11Speaker 2: Yeah, Chaine Smokers.
- 43:12Speaker 1: And then and then it's four.
- 43:14Speaker 2: O'clock in the hold one. It's four o'clock, three o'clock
- 43:16Speaker 2: in the morning or something like that too. It's it's
- 43:19Speaker 2: it's and I've already said to Zach, dude, I want
- 43:23Speaker 2: to go.
- 43:24Speaker 1: Yeah. Well I'm too old for this too by this point.
- 43:27Speaker 1: But anyway, Donald really wanted to go, but I was
- 43:30Speaker 1: just like, you know, come on, went in Rome, let's go.
- 43:31Speaker 1: Let's go for like a half hour of the club.
- 43:34Speaker 1: Since everyone was going, so we go. By the time
- 43:36Speaker 1: I get to the table, the booth, which was packed,
- 43:39Speaker 1: but we were just standing there. I lost Donald and
- 43:42Speaker 1: I'm with and I'm like, oh, I'm like, there's no way.
- 43:45Speaker 1: This dude just french exited like that. That would have
- 43:47Speaker 1: been too late, like he did like a peel off.
- 43:52Speaker 1: And he's gone. And so the whole group I'm with
- 43:55Speaker 1: we're like, yo, he lost Donald. I'm looking out for him.
- 43:57Speaker 1: I can't see him. I'm texting him like, dude, there's
- 43:59Speaker 1: no way, you just fucking left. And then I'm just like.
- 44:03Speaker 2: Text him back. I go no. And then the booth.
- 44:06Speaker 1: Then I look up Joelle. I'm at this fucking in
- 44:09Speaker 1: front of thousands and thousands of people. This dude's in
- 44:12Speaker 1: the DJ boots.
- 44:13Speaker 3: Bas you love a DJ booth, Donald, I.
- 44:20Speaker 2: Can't something special about the DJ booth, something.
- 44:25Speaker 1: The regular at the wind DJ booth.
- 44:27Speaker 2: So I get to the booth and I'm the creator
- 44:29Speaker 2: of Yellowstones there, Jeffrey Rights there and Michael Fastbender and
- 44:33Speaker 2: you know, Jeffrey's like, you want to do shots, bro,
- 44:37Speaker 2: And I'm like yeah, So we do a couple of
- 44:39Speaker 2: shots and ship and so now I'm lit, and in
- 44:42Speaker 2: my mind, I'm like, Zach has to be here. Zach's
- 44:45Speaker 2: fucking one of the best directors I know. If I
- 44:47Speaker 2: can get him over here, maybe he could make a
- 44:49Speaker 2: deal happen with these motherfuckers. And he's directing the New
- 44:52Speaker 2: Yellowstone starring Jeffrey Wright and Michael Fastpender. That's where my
- 44:55Speaker 2: mind's going, right, we gotta we gotta make this happen.
- 44:58Speaker 2: So now I'm trying to weigh if this motherfucker down.
- 45:01Speaker 1: Like, yeah, we finally have eye contact, and it's for
- 45:04Speaker 1: these scrubs mega fans. It's a bit like when when
- 45:08Speaker 1: uh when Donald When Turk and Carla get back from
- 45:11Speaker 1: their honeymoon and it's like Turk, so we finally have
- 45:18Speaker 1: eye contact, and he's like trying to gesture how I'm
- 45:21Speaker 1: supposed to mind the way there's so many people. I'm like,
- 45:23Speaker 1: how the fuck am I without without a without a guard,
- 45:26Speaker 1: who knows how the hell am I going to get
- 45:28Speaker 1: up in that DJ booth?
- 45:29Speaker 2: And I'm pointing to the security guy. He's gonna take you.
- 45:32Speaker 2: You go with.
- 45:32Speaker 1: Him, So now I make this is all gestures. Then
- 45:35Speaker 1: I make eye contact with the security guard that like
- 45:37Speaker 1: gives me the thumbs up, like, yo, I'll hook you up.
- 45:39Speaker 1: Come to me. So I come to this guard and
- 45:42Speaker 1: he weaves me through this maze and I get up
- 45:46Speaker 1: into the DJ booth and the most incredible thing happens.
- 45:52Speaker 2: I go. I go to Bassbender and to uh These
- 45:57Speaker 2: and to Jeffrey and I'm like, yo, guys, meet my
- 46:00Speaker 2: buddy Zach and they all go, ah, fast spender, fast Spender.
- 46:08Speaker 1: So Jeffrey Wright was so sweet. He like, you know,
- 46:10Speaker 1: did the cheers thing across and then Fastbender. Oh. I
- 46:14Speaker 1: think we can safely say had a few yes, as
- 46:21Speaker 1: jumps up as one does in Vegas. Yes he was
- 46:25Speaker 1: not parched.
- 46:26Speaker 2: Yes, no, he was.
- 46:28Speaker 1: He was.
- 46:29Speaker 2: He was he was, he was he was well served.
- 46:32Speaker 1: Yes, no one else, no one had turned him down
- 46:37Speaker 1: for service. But he came and he gave me. He
- 46:42Speaker 1: came up to me like and he's like, I love you,
- 46:46Speaker 1: I love your work. You're incredible.
- 46:49Speaker 2: Oh, nobody can do what you.
- 46:51Speaker 1: Nobody can do what you do. And in my heart
- 46:54Speaker 1: I'm thinking like, oh my god, like this is amazing.
- 46:57Speaker 1: What a moment in my life that this guy is
- 46:59Speaker 1: one of the best best actors in the world. And
- 47:02Speaker 1: he's like I love you, and I'm like, thank you, brother.
- 47:05Speaker 1: That means so much. When he goes I love Chips.
- 47:10Speaker 3: Uh, who does he think you are.
- 47:13Speaker 1: Dak Chapper. No, he loves chips, damn you, Deck che
- 47:20Speaker 1: He loves Chips, Joel, more than you love any movie
- 47:23Speaker 1: in the world. That's more than you loves Chips.
- 47:25Speaker 2: More than you love Wicked, more than we.
- 47:28Speaker 1: More than you love Star Wars. This dude love more than.
- 47:30Speaker 2: I love Star Wars. He's like, listen, nobody can do
- 47:34Speaker 2: what you do. You are so good at what you do.
- 47:38Speaker 2: And I'm like, Mike Sikes. So now I'm trying to
- 47:40Speaker 2: Now I'm trying to be like.
- 47:41Speaker 1: So my just Sikes because I thought I pictured a
- 47:44Speaker 1: future where we're making movies together, where we're like and
- 47:48Speaker 1: and I and I thought he was talking about my
- 47:51Speaker 1: my work as a filmmaker, and I was just like
- 47:53Speaker 1: having like the best moment, and he was talking about chips.
- 47:56Speaker 2: And so I go, Mike, no, no, no.
- 47:58Speaker 1: No, Mike, no, Mike.
- 47:59Speaker 2: No, no, no no.
- 48:02Speaker 1: It was so embarrassing.
- 48:04Speaker 2: We he's a He's this is Zach Braff, not Dax Shephard.
- 48:11Speaker 2: And so he puts his head down and begins to
- 48:13Speaker 2: walk away.
- 48:14Speaker 1: He didn't know what to do. He didn't know what
- 48:16Speaker 1: to do him.
- 48:17Speaker 2: He did don't you fucking walk away? Michael. You turn
- 48:21Speaker 2: around and you face us. You face this situation, buddy,
- 48:25Speaker 2: You face this situation with class and grace.
- 48:30Speaker 1: But doald It was so cringe like no one knew
- 48:35Speaker 1: what to say because where you go from there?
- 48:37Speaker 2: So he grabs us in a big embrace. He grabs
- 48:40Speaker 2: us tight, and he's like, it's real hard to do
- 48:44Speaker 2: what we do, isn't it?
- 48:45Speaker 1: And I'm trying. He was trying to pivot the conversation.
- 48:48Speaker 2: The conversation, but now he's he's embarrassed and he won't
- 48:51Speaker 2: let us go. And I go to grab his arm, like, motherfucker,
- 48:54Speaker 2: get off of me, and I can't because he's so
- 48:58Speaker 2: fucking jacked. It's ridiculous, Like he's like got this bear
- 49:02Speaker 2: hug on us, and me and zactly looking at each
- 49:04Speaker 2: other like how the fuck do we get way from
- 49:06Speaker 2: Michael fast.
- 49:08Speaker 1: Then we then we had to then we had to
- 49:10Speaker 1: escape the Fastbender grip.
- 49:13Speaker 2: Yeah, the vice grip that is magneto, that.
- 49:17Speaker 3: Is so cozy in there. Oh man?
- 49:20Speaker 1: Sure well? Then I text I text Dax Shepherd, I go,
- 49:24Speaker 1: it is important for you to know how much Michael
- 49:28Speaker 1: Fastbender loves chips. I need to convey this to you,
- 49:33Speaker 1: and then I go I unfortunately found out the hard way.
- 49:39Speaker 1: But you need to know this man is your number
- 49:41Speaker 1: one fan.
- 49:51Speaker 3: Did you guys decide to go home after that?
- 49:54Speaker 2: Was that?
- 49:54Speaker 1: No?
- 49:55Speaker 2: No?
- 49:57Speaker 1: That set it off. Listen, was like, this is the
- 50:00Speaker 1: best night ever. Now Donald gets Donald loves the DJ booths,
- 50:04Speaker 1: he gets a he finds a whole new wind once
- 50:06Speaker 1: he's in the DJ booth.
- 50:09Speaker 2: So the next night is so that was qualifying night. This,
- 50:12Speaker 2: This is how epic.
- 50:13Speaker 3: This This was not even race night.
- 50:15Speaker 2: This is qualified.
- 50:16Speaker 3: I've rushed you through the story.
- 50:18Speaker 2: Donald, this was qualifying night because the next night we
- 50:21Speaker 2: went to the after party at the other club. Oh yeah,
- 50:25Speaker 2: that was it, Delilah, Yeah, Adam Devine like it was.
- 50:29Speaker 2: It was.
- 50:29Speaker 1: Oh and also we should mention we were hanging out
- 50:31Speaker 1: with Keegan Michael Key that night.
- 50:33Speaker 2: To Keegan Michael Key, okay, uh he was. He's such
- 50:38Speaker 2: a nice guy, that dude, wonder him and his wife wonderful.
- 50:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 50:42Speaker 3: I'm gonna be one of your personal assistants. You guys
- 50:44Speaker 3: can take me to cool places.
- 50:45Speaker 1: Let's listen, we have some pretty funny adventures. We have
- 50:48Speaker 1: some pretty funny adventures in my heart. I can't tell you, Joelle,
- 50:52Speaker 1: how my heart sank when I learned that it wasn't
- 50:55Speaker 1: a good person he was talking about. It was Chips.
- 50:57Speaker 2: Well that's really brutal.
- 51:01Speaker 4: I can't how you rallied is It's amazing to me.
- 51:04Speaker 4: Uh wow, Michael Fassbender owes you something.
- 51:07Speaker 3: I don't know what it is yet, but you know
- 51:10Speaker 3: what a funny story.
- 51:11Speaker 1: I don't know if I told you this part. I
- 51:13Speaker 1: think I did tell you this part. Donald is that
- 51:17Speaker 1: Florence's assistant on A Good Person's name was Chip and
- 51:21Speaker 1: uh and he's a great guy. Chip worked on He
- 51:26Speaker 1: also works for Jason Senakis on On On Lasso. He
- 51:31Speaker 1: did a bunch of things on a movie. Awesome guy.
- 51:32Speaker 1: If you for those of you who know a good person,
- 51:34Speaker 1: he plays him. He doesn't play himself, but he plays
- 51:37Speaker 1: a character in the opening uh party scene where someone's like,
- 51:40Speaker 1: if you're going to sleep with Chip or eleven condoms?
- 51:42Speaker 1: And he's like what what? He just He's a really sweet,
- 51:46Speaker 1: funny guy. He's an actor too anyway. So when he
- 51:49Speaker 1: first I first heard mumblings of the word Chip, I went, oh,
- 51:55Speaker 1: obviously he knows Chip. A lot of people who are
- 51:58Speaker 1: you know a list actors know Chip. He he's a
- 52:01Speaker 1: he's you know, people know him. So I thought, oh me,
- 52:03Speaker 1: he Chip works for him too. So my brain first
- 52:05Speaker 1: was my brain was still rolling with he means me
- 52:11Speaker 1: because the because Chip had some resonance for me. But
- 52:14Speaker 1: then he clarified like this, Joelle hands on heart, I
- 52:20Speaker 1: love Chips.
- 52:21Speaker 3: Oh God.
- 52:23Speaker 1: And I was like, I know I'm not Eric Estrada, right,
- 52:28Speaker 1: I know I'm not the other dude, John John, I'm
- 52:33Speaker 1: not Payna. I'm obviously he thought I was.
- 52:37Speaker 2: I'm not. Wait a second, could I could?
- 52:41Speaker 1: Yeah? But that was fun. That was a blast.
- 52:44Speaker 2: What was really cool, though, was watching Ryan Tedder and
- 52:48Speaker 2: Snoop Dogg do a rendition of Gin and Juice. Yeah,
- 52:52Speaker 2: Ryan Tedder's just playing the chords and Snoop Dogg's wrapping
- 52:56Speaker 2: it slowly in front of all of these t mobile
- 53:02Speaker 2: the lyrics.
- 53:03Speaker 1: Do you know how big Ryan Tedder is? Like Ryan Tedder,
- 53:06Speaker 1: he just follow him on Instagram. He posted, you know,
- 53:08Speaker 1: you know how this is the week everyone's putting their
- 53:10Speaker 1: Spotify things out. And I guess if you're a songwriter
- 53:13Speaker 1: you can put how many you can literally put in
- 53:15Speaker 1: like how many streams do all of my songs have
- 53:18Speaker 1: for the year, And Ryan Tedder posted his it was
- 53:21Speaker 1: seven point seven billion. I was like, I think that's good.
- 53:26Speaker 1: I think he has so many hot bops. So he
- 53:29Speaker 1: does this like medley for like everyone at the piano
- 53:31Speaker 1: and the guitar where he just like he like sings
- 53:34Speaker 1: a couple of his songs, of his one Republic songs.
- 53:37Speaker 1: But then he goes and like it's like, oh, and
- 53:38Speaker 1: you probably didn't know, and he tells like a little anecdote.
- 53:41Speaker 1: He's like, so I wrote this for Beyonce, and then
- 53:42Speaker 1: he like fucking goes into a song and then I
- 53:44Speaker 1: wrote this for Rihanna, and then it's like a medley
- 53:47Speaker 1: of like giant pop hits that you had no idea
- 53:50Speaker 1: he wrote.
- 53:51Speaker 2: He's written quite a few halo Oh my god. Well
- 53:57Speaker 2: all right, he says. Now his story with the Beyonce
- 54:01Speaker 2: song is he yeah, he wrote the song for her
- 54:05Speaker 2: and then she changed it up and changed Halo up.
- 54:08Speaker 1: Juell just read, just just put in Ryan ted uh
- 54:12Speaker 1: biggest hits. You'll be blown away.
- 54:14Speaker 3: This is incredible.
- 54:16Speaker 2: It's a very good song. Well, we've always known he's
- 54:18Speaker 2: a good songwriter. Though everybody's known this. I mean, he's
- 54:21Speaker 2: the one republic is him and a couple of musicians
- 54:26Speaker 2: getting together. And that was also the dopest part I forgot.
- 54:29Speaker 2: So he has a guy in the band that plays
- 54:31Speaker 2: the fiddle and they getting Snoop gets to the end
- 54:36Speaker 2: of the song and he's like, now play that fiddle,
- 54:39Speaker 2: and the dude was just there bopp into the whole
- 54:41Speaker 2: thing the whole time, like listening to you know, Ryan
- 54:45Speaker 2: and Snoop do this rendition. He's like, wait, I gotta
- 54:47Speaker 2: put for.
- 54:47Speaker 1: It was impromptu. They hadn't planned it. Ryan literally came
- 54:50Speaker 1: up and said, I practiced these chords right before you know,
- 54:55Speaker 1: I turned the mic on. So I'm gonna do my
- 54:58Speaker 1: best and see if maybe I can convince a certain
- 54:59Speaker 1: sum wanted to come up here. So he starts playing
- 55:03Speaker 1: what is it Donald the chords.
- 55:04Speaker 2: Rolling down the street, smoking.
- 55:08Speaker 1: Sipping juice, Yes, and then just just playing the simple
- 55:13Speaker 1: chords on the piano. So then Snoop's like, all right, well,
- 55:16Speaker 1: I can't just sit here if you're gonna play that.
- 55:18Speaker 1: So Snoop, by the way, and this is in front
- 55:20Speaker 1: of like twenty people, and then and then so Snoop
- 55:24Speaker 1: starts rapping the song, leaning on the piano. He goes,
- 55:26Speaker 1: I've always wanted to do this, and he was like,
- 55:28Speaker 1: leaning on the piano, rapping the song with so.
- 55:30Speaker 2: Funny much drama in the LBC. It's kind of hard
- 55:34Speaker 2: being snoop de o double G but I in some way.
- 55:38Speaker 1: And then the guy, the guy who was playing the
- 55:41Speaker 1: fiddle or the violin whatever, it.
- 55:43Speaker 2: Was like, but let me just say one thing. He
- 55:45Speaker 2: gets to the point he goes, we got freaks in
- 55:47Speaker 2: the living room getting it on and they ain't leaving,
- 55:51Speaker 2: and nobody said anything but me. I yell out six,
- 55:57Speaker 2: So what you want to do? Right? And he goes
- 55:59Speaker 2: here and he gets a but for what and nobody
- 56:02Speaker 2: said anything. Here I come again. We don't love them house?
- 56:06Speaker 3: Yes, yes.
- 56:08Speaker 1: Everyone else was like in awe and like or had
- 56:11Speaker 1: their phone outs and ship Donald was like the backup singer.
- 56:14Speaker 3: I love it.
- 56:15Speaker 2: I loved it. It was such a great night.
- 56:17Speaker 1: But then so there's a guy who was playing violin
- 56:19Speaker 1: or fiddle with with Ryan for his songs and he
- 56:22Speaker 1: was just he was like, because this was impromptu, he
- 56:24Speaker 1: wasn't like prepared to play along. He's just sitting there
- 56:26Speaker 1: bopping his head like everybody else and then Snoop turns
- 56:29Speaker 1: to him and he's like, it's your turn for a
- 56:31Speaker 1: solo in so many words, and the dude was like,
- 56:34Speaker 1: what what you and he didn't know? He was like
- 56:38Speaker 1: he didn't. He panicked, He panicked. He like he couldn't
- 56:42Speaker 1: step up to the moment.
- 56:44Speaker 2: He did step up to the moment.
- 56:45Speaker 1: He did a little bit. So he did a little moment,
- 56:47Speaker 1: but he panicked a bit.
- 56:48Speaker 2: Donald He said he was scared at first. I was like, dude,
- 56:51Speaker 2: you had none to be scared of. What you did
- 56:52Speaker 2: was dope.
- 56:53Speaker 1: What did Snoop say? Put a little goes, put some
- 56:56Speaker 1: fiddle in the middle.
- 56:57Speaker 2: Yeah, put a put a little fiddle in the middle.
- 57:03Speaker 3: That's great.
- 57:05Speaker 2: D O Double came to play that night. I'm telling
- 57:07Speaker 2: you he came to play. Like that's always good too,
- 57:11Speaker 2: because you know, people get paid to do their songs,
- 57:15Speaker 2: you know what I mean, Like, you get paid a
- 57:17Speaker 2: lot of money to do I'm sure Snoop gets paid
- 57:19Speaker 2: a lot of money to Dojen and Juice. And for
- 57:22Speaker 2: him to go up there and just do that shit
- 57:23Speaker 2: for us.
- 57:24Speaker 1: Well, I mean, let's keep it.
- 57:27Speaker 2: Yeah, he was.
- 57:28Speaker 1: He has t mobile ads too. He was making the
- 57:31Speaker 1: executives happy. But it was awesome, but it was.
- 57:34Speaker 2: Still still man, you can always decline when somebody says,
- 57:37Speaker 2: come sing your song.
- 57:38Speaker 1: I think when they start playing your chords and it's
- 57:40Speaker 1: twenty people, you're like, I'll sing a little bit. I
- 57:42Speaker 1: know I will.
- 57:44Speaker 2: I'm shooting me too. Let's take a break. I like,
- 57:47Speaker 2: we've we've hung out with Scott. We've hung out with
- 57:49Speaker 2: Scott a bit in New York when when he was
- 57:52Speaker 2: building this wonderful club slash dinner spot then Zero Bomb.
- 58:00Speaker 1: Actually I forgot you were there with me when we
- 58:02Speaker 1: toured before.
- 58:03Speaker 2: It was made, Before it was made, You and I
- 58:05Speaker 2: and were.
- 58:06Speaker 1: It was before Covid and Scott was like zero Bond.
- 58:10Speaker 1: For those of you who know is like is a
- 58:12Speaker 1: is a really high end private dinner club, social club
- 58:16Speaker 1: in Manhattan and Scott created it. But years and it's
- 58:20Speaker 1: and it's very successful. But years before COVID, we knew
- 58:24Speaker 1: Scott and he was like, I want to show you
- 58:25Speaker 1: a tour of this like basically skeleton of a building.
- 58:29Speaker 1: I'm gonna I'm gonna build a club here. And we
- 58:32Speaker 1: took a tour and I don't know what you were thinking, Donald,
- 58:34Speaker 1: but I was like, this is never gonna happen.
- 58:35Speaker 2: This is I thought it was amazing, but I was like,
- 58:38Speaker 2: this is a house, so you're gonna turn this into
- 58:41Speaker 2: a house. What are you gonna this? What is it's
- 58:43Speaker 2: going to be. He was like, it's gonna be a
- 58:45Speaker 2: it's going to be a dinner slash.
- 58:48Speaker 1: Club, social social club.
- 58:50Speaker 2: And I was like, wow, this is okay. I it
- 58:54Speaker 2: was a big It literally was this big abandoned loft
- 58:57Speaker 2: in the middle huge street.
- 58:59Speaker 1: Huge, huge. But we're walking around him. He's just nothing
- 59:01Speaker 1: but the walls, like brick walls.
- 59:03Speaker 2: And brick walls and brick pillars.
- 59:05Speaker 1: And I was like, I was thinking like wow, I mean,
- 59:07Speaker 1: I know you're successful, but good luck. And then and
- 59:10Speaker 1: then COVID happened and obviously its slowed him down. But
- 59:13Speaker 1: now now it's this, you know, really popular place. But anyway,
- 59:18Speaker 1: he's all has another place in Vegas called Delilah and
- 59:21Speaker 1: that's where we were.
- 59:22Speaker 2: And uh, once again there's kind of like a DJ booth,
- 59:26Speaker 2: Like I got to go to the FIRS.
- 59:27Speaker 1: Guy in Vegas is mingling all over the place.
- 59:29Speaker 2: I got to get to that DJ. Well, I'm sober. Also,
- 59:32Speaker 2: you know, I have drinks in me, but I'm not
- 59:33Speaker 2: freaking smoking weeds, so I'm not trying to Yeah, I'm
- 59:37Speaker 2: not just trying to sit in a chair and blend
- 59:39Speaker 2: in right, you know what I mean. I'm not trying
- 59:40Speaker 2: to camoufy. So now I'm like, I got to go
- 59:42Speaker 2: to the DJ club. I mean, it's a DJ booth,
- 59:44Speaker 2: and I see my buddy, Evan Ross, who is a
- 59:48Speaker 2: family member of Bill Lawrence and Krista Miller because Christa's
- 59:56Speaker 2: brother is married to Evan's sister. Okay, and so there's
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: this So I see Evan, but I've known Evan for
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: a while since he was a kid. But anyway, so
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: I see him and I'm like, yo, what's and his
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: boys and I'm just I'm content standing on the outside
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: watching close up. I'm close enough now to see the stuff.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: And they grabbed me. Him and his boys grabbed me
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: and pulled me in. I'm like, oh shit. And when
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: they pull me in, I've getting yanked right in next
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: to Flavor Flav who is a favorite of month, you
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: know what I mean, I'm like, oh shit, Flame. He
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: goes d and we hugging all of that shit, and
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: then we look up to the stage where Selo's performing
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: and he looks down. He goes, oh shit, Donald Faizon
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: in front of the hole clop he says, this shit.
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: I was like, oh right, and I look over it
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: and damn son idresses in the corner. Wow, do you
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: know what I mean. I'm like, I really do like
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: this kid. You know, he's to me, he's he's up,
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: and he's up and coming. I really enjoyed this boy,
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: this brother, and so I'm like, wow, man, I just
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: got the dope a shout out. Ever, he comes off stage,
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: gives me a hug and everything like that. Flave wraps
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: a mic and now Flaves singing and the mic and stuff,
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: and I'm like, this, this can't be happening. If I
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: knew that quitting Weed would do this.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: A long time ago, I gotta say, dude, I didn't know.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: It's funny now that you're talking about it, but you
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: were way more social and and uh you were. He
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: was working the room. He came back and he's like
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: with Flaves podcast, he was like networking and Jeff Beacher.
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: I'm trying to get Jeff Beacher on the podcast. We're
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: trying to get We're trying to get Beast on the podcast.
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: Dame podcast was a networking. We got to get Fastbender
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: on the podcast now to talk.
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: Would be great on the podcast, just to talk about
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: his life.
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: I think Fassbender should come on and we can have
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: dax On too, and he can talk to Dax about
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: how much.
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: Great double feature.
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: But all of this is because of T Mobile. Man,
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: like we're That's when when we got home and after
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: I finally got my voice back and everything like that,
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: it was like for them to still believe in us.
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: It just felt so good. It felt like, you know,
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: this marriage is the best marriage and for for us.
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: And for a while, rerun our Love actually commercial from
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: last year for Christmas.
- 1:02:23Speaker 2: To yeah, I love that.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: It's just it's lough. Casey's fake voice got caught Donald
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: I heard, Oh.
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: That's too bad. I like, is that Zach again? Yeah?
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: I guess it's too close to love actually, so they
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: weren't allowed to do it. I guess in love actually
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: does someone go is that blah blah blah again?
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: No, the carollers and she goes and he goes, Uh well,
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: tell them to go away.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: Rememb For some reason, they cut fake Casey going because
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: in the in the rough draft you heard someone going
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: is that Zach again.
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: But that was in the original commercial too, though I
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: don't know.
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: I asked Klugman about it and he said for some
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: legal and then cut it and I was like, oh,
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: it was fake Casey. Anyway, we should talk about merch
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: because Joel wants to talk about merch for Christmas. You guys,

- 1:03:37Speaker 1: medical badge thing that what do you call it? The

- 1:03:45Speaker 1: our faces on it. Badge holder. There's towels. There's a
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: few onesies. If you happen to be a small and

- 1:05:14Speaker 4: like my obsession. I think Louis Hamilton is the goat, So.
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: Very jealous that you guys have been twice. All I
- 1:05:21Speaker 3: want to do is see Louis Hamilton race.
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: What a great comeback from him when that race though,
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: he went from tenth to second.
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: He's no good at his job.

- 1:05:40Speaker 4: When you are more handsome slash more beautiful, people have
- 1:05:43Speaker 4: more confidence in you to do your job. And so
- 1:05:45Speaker 4: you see theset like a lot of pilots are extremely attractive.
- 1:05:48Speaker 4: Like why are all the pilots just very hot? Something
- 1:05:51Speaker 4: about an attraction level and confidence within a person.
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: I think it's connected.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: Oh well, I don't know about that, but I do
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: know that it's bizarre when they show all these guys
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: on the screen. They're all very good looking.
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: Yeah, slash, they're yeah, they're all mister Steele, your boyfriend
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: slash girlfriend.

- 1:06:27Speaker 4: Adobe tonight to see you know, s Faratu, which I'm
- 1:06:29Speaker 4: very excited about.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: I got invited to the Bob Dylan movie. Uh, oh, well,
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: I'm not going to go. I don't really like going
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: to other people's premieres. It's weird.
- 1:06:38Speaker 4: Premieres are difficult once you've been to a couple like
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: the shiny excitement of it. No, they're really it's a
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: lot of standing around and then it's awkward socializing.
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: And it's not like if you have no relationship to
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: anyone involved in the movie. I don't go to them
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: anymore because it's like, why would it would be so
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: much more fun to see this on your own with
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: a friend than go to like the giant, splashy premiere.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: Obviously if it's your if it's your friend or it's yours,
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: it's a different story totally.
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: I stopped going to premieres after, you know, I had
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: one really disappointing premiere. I'm not going to mention the name.
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: Is it when you told Kathy what's her name? From
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: Star Wars Twins?
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: Yes?
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: Yes, that was the last time.
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: I don't like going to That was the last time
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: I was like, your name Kathy, Kathleen Kennedy.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: Kathleen Kennedy's twin. I think it's not fair for her
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: to be at a premiere and look exactly like her.
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: She needs to change her hairstyle because because she Donald
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: Michael fassbendered her twin and said how much she loves
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: her work.
- 1:07:39Speaker 2: Right. No, it wasn't a force awakened. It was one
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: which No, it was the second of the sequel, Last Jedi,
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: which I did not like at all.
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: He didn't know it was with with the Rage, the
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: Rage character.
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: I remember, she yeah, and I remember, and I was
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: I was trying to kiss somebody's ass and I was
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: kissing her twins ass.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: But they're identical, and like I just I think it's
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: I think Donald listen, I guess this is very this
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: all wraps up. This is how good you are off Weed.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: You've now bookended us back to the Fastbender situation. I
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: I don't I'm not. I know Daxon I look alike,
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: but but Kathleen Kennedy's twin sister, identical twins, could have
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: done a little more to look different, you know, for
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: for other for people to for people's sake.
- 1:08:30Speaker 3: Something name.
- 1:08:32Speaker 1: I am not Kathleen Kennedy.
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: And that's what well, that's what she wound up saying
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: to me. She was like, well, you know, I'm not Kathleen.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: Yeah, but they are literally identicy.
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: Yes, I don't think you should feel embarrassed about that.
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: I don't think that should be the thing that sucks.
- 1:08:45Speaker 2: I wasn't embarrassed. I wasn't embarrassed by it.
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: But that you said, that's why you stopped going to know.
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: Because I didn't like the movie, is what happened.
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, I see.
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: And I was, and I was, and I was I
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: was ass kissing because I love Star Wars and I
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: was trying to find a way in and already.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: The twin will help you, maybe maybe the twin will
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: make a Star Wars movie.
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: And I went to Kathy afterwards. I was like, yo,
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: I just spent five minutes talking to your sister about
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: how much I loved this movie. And she started laughing.
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: She's like, oh my god, and she turned to her husband.
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: Just spent five minutes talking to whatever her name is,
- 1:09:23Speaker 2: and I was like, well, it's time to go.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: She was probably surprised. You like the movie.
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: Last Jedi is a great film outare you?
- 1:09:32Speaker 5: No?
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: It's not. No, it is no, it is not.
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: The best film of the new trilogy.
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree, I will I will disagree with that.
- 1:09:44Speaker 2: I will say this though, I don't think they should
- 1:09:46Speaker 2: have ever wretconned what he did.
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: Mistake.
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: That was the big Listen, if you're gonna go that route,
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: let's go that route and and keep it going. That
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: was the That was the mistake. It could have still
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: been like, I don't like the sequel trilogy anymore.
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: We're not going down a rabbit. We're not going down
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: I'm not doing that. Okay, oh Tank forever, I'm not
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: doing it. I'm not doing it. It's like you two
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: are like you two are ridiculous. If I don't like
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: tug on the leash a little bit. Y'all are like
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: back on the Star Wars train.
- 1:10:17Speaker 4: Also, Okay, Christmas is our time.
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: It's our time down here, Joelle, our time.
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: By the way, now that you're saying Gooney's coade, I
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: was thinking of when when the when the foster woman
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: told me that someone will already wanted to adopt Henny.
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: I was thinking of what Chunk says at.
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: The end, You're gonna come live with me now.
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: Yeah, looking and live with me now because I love you. Yeah, Yeah,
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: that's what happened, Chunk, That's what happened. That's what happened.
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: I was like, Penny, You're gonna live with me now
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: because I love you. And she was like, oh, by
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: the way, poor Chunk's family like, no offense to sloth,
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: but they're like, dude, we gotta live with sloth.

- 1:11:51Speaker 2: He is related to the Fortelli's. They are murderers. I
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: don't know if that has rubbed off on.

- 1:12:23Speaker 2: Hey you god.
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: Chunks. I love to see the scene after Chunk said
