- 0:09Speaker 1: Welcome to the Fravorite Treecaps Show. I am your humble
- 0:13Speaker 1: and gracious host Brandon Kravitz. The conference title games are
- 0:16Speaker 1: wrapped up, super Bowl sixty is set. We've got recaps,
- 0:21Speaker 1: we've got our initial read on the line, and a
- 0:23Speaker 1: preview of next week's schedule on this show. But before
- 0:27Speaker 1: we get to any of it, let's welcome in your
- 0:30Speaker 1: Favorites crew, the Prime Minister of Degenerate Nation Stuckey, and
- 0:33Speaker 1: the Queen of the Pod, Miss Kendra Middleton. A parlay
- 0:38Speaker 1: recap for you. We had Rams plus two and a half,
- 0:41Speaker 1: Oh so close, Kenneth Walker over eighty four and a
- 0:45Speaker 1: half rushing yards. Looked like we were going to get
- 0:47Speaker 1: home on that, and then he fell short in the
- 0:49Speaker 1: second half. Wound up with sixty two rushing yards and
- 0:53Speaker 1: the Broncos plus four and a half, an absolute breeze
- 0:57Speaker 1: and a second half blizzard. All in all, though we
- 1:00Speaker 1: mopped up on the favorites, we had a plus day.
- 1:04Speaker 1: If you go and follow us on the Action Network app.
- 1:07Speaker 1: The Patriots are back in the Super Bowl for the
- 1:09Speaker 1: first time since twenty nineteen. Kendra, of those poor fans
- 1:13Speaker 1: suffered long.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Enough seven years, seven whole years of suffering for the
- 1:19Speaker 2: Patriots fans here, you know, there are third graders who
- 1:22Speaker 2: have never seen a Super Bowl? How crazy is that?
- 1:25Speaker 1: So sad? So sad, and I'm i am I'm just
- 1:29Speaker 1: happy that they were able to break the drought. It's
- 1:32Speaker 1: been a rough, near decade long drought that they've been experiencing.
- 1:37Speaker 1: Question for both of you here, let's talk about that
- 1:41Speaker 1: game first and then we'll get to the one that
- 1:43Speaker 1: we just witnessed. Did the Patriots win, did the Broncos lose?
- 1:49Speaker 1: Or did the snow just simply take over the game?
- 1:52Speaker 1: And it was basically whoever had the lead at the
- 1:55Speaker 1: time when that snowstorm popped off, stucky. How do you
- 1:59Speaker 1: read the way that this game went down? I thought
- 2:01Speaker 1: Stidham looked good early on, but boy, they did fall
- 2:04Speaker 1: apart fast for him.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I thought the Patriots probably lost more.
- 2:10Speaker 3: I mean, the Broncos probably lost more than anything. I mean,
- 2:12Speaker 3: what did the Patriots do in the game. I mean,
- 2:14Speaker 3: they got a backwards pass that was kind of question more.
- 2:16Speaker 3: It might have been tipped, so President look at it longer.
- 2:20Speaker 3: They got a toy, a twelve yard touchdown drive off
- 2:22Speaker 3: of a left handed backwards pass which was extremely lucky
- 2:27Speaker 3: and so close, and that was that was it. I
- 2:32Speaker 3: mean what Drake May had sixty five net passing yards.
- 2:36Speaker 3: It was a disgusting game. The Broncos multiple missed field goals.
- 2:40Speaker 3: They had a fourth and one, you know, inside the
- 2:44Speaker 3: red zone, with a questionable play call, and then the
- 2:47Speaker 3: Patriots had a fourth and one with the game deciding
- 2:49Speaker 3: field goal that I don't think they got very general
- 2:51Speaker 3: that the backrift decided to move the ball and they
- 2:55Speaker 3: didn't overturn it on replay. Those are always tough to overturn,
- 2:58Speaker 3: but that was didn't It was all ten points for
- 3:01Speaker 3: the Patriots, a questionable four than one decision call and
- 3:04Speaker 3: then a backwards pass that was it. I thought that
- 3:08Speaker 3: the you know, now you have to they basically, I
- 3:12Speaker 3: think their game plan was don't let Drake May lose it.
- 3:14Speaker 3: They didn't want them to fumble. They didn't want them
- 3:16Speaker 3: to like they just you could see on the third
- 3:17Speaker 3: down calls where they would just run it or have
- 3:19Speaker 3: them throw it out of bounds because they just knew
- 3:22Speaker 3: that Sidham wasn't going to do much. So you have
- 3:25Speaker 3: to take that into account. But in the second half,
- 3:27Speaker 3: with the blizzard that favored the Patriots immensely because the
- 3:31Speaker 3: Broncos can't run the ball, and that's the strength of
- 3:33Speaker 3: the Patriots defense is their run defense and the weakness
- 3:37Speaker 3: of the Broncos. Of the Broncos defense is their run day.
- 3:40Speaker 3: So the Patriots were able to run it a little
- 3:42Speaker 3: more successfully once those conditions got bad. That's that. It
- 3:47Speaker 3: was lights out for the Broncos. They were never going
- 3:49Speaker 3: to be able to do anything. But yeah, just an ugly,
- 3:52Speaker 3: disgusting game. I mean, both teams basically averaged three yards
- 3:54Speaker 3: per play. Just an abomination of a football game. But
- 3:59Speaker 3: the Patriots advanced with beating another backup quarterback, so you
- 4:02Speaker 3: got to give them credit.
- 4:03Speaker 1: I guess Sean Payton. The decision to go for it
- 4:07Speaker 1: early in the game rather than taking the three points
- 4:09Speaker 1: in a game that was decided by three and there
- 4:11Speaker 1: was only seventeen total points scored, that one felt questionable
- 4:16Speaker 1: in the moment, and then the play call itself was
- 4:18Speaker 1: pretty atrocious. It was almost intercepted.
- 4:21Speaker 3: I don't mind them going for it, it's that I mean,
- 4:24Speaker 3: you have a backup quarterback, you want to, you know,
- 4:29Speaker 3: put the hammer down, go up fourteen to nothing. I
- 4:32Speaker 3: don't mind it. It's just a play call. Sneak the
- 4:34Speaker 3: ball does.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Change your opinion, though if I don't know, I'm not
- 4:39Speaker 1: a weather guy. But that snowstorm was a clear impact
- 4:43Speaker 1: on either team being able to move the football. If
- 4:46Speaker 1: you know that's coming was more important.
- 4:51Speaker 3: That wasn't known by anybody. That was a complete shock
- 4:57Speaker 3: like that was not The conditions were not supposed to
- 4:59Speaker 3: be like that. There was not sposed to be a
- 5:00Speaker 3: storm like that in the second half. But just sneak
- 5:04Speaker 3: the ball. Both teams had the ball inside the twenty
- 5:06Speaker 3: on fourth and one. I know the Patriots really got
- 5:08Speaker 3: stop short, but they got it on the sneak. The
- 5:11Speaker 3: Broncos didn't, and that was the difference in the game.
- 5:15Speaker 3: So I just didn't like to play. I would have
- 5:17Speaker 3: just sneaked the ball. Push, push, have it in your arsenal.
- 5:20Speaker 3: If you don't trust it him to do it, have
- 5:22Speaker 3: someone else take the snap and get some big guys
- 5:24Speaker 3: behind him and push them forward. There's no reason not to.
- 5:29Speaker 2: I think the biggest thing today was Josh McDaniel doing
- 5:32Speaker 2: the right thing by daring sid him to go out
- 5:34Speaker 2: there and win it by punting and playing the absolute
- 5:38Speaker 2: most conservative football they could down that fourth quarter. That is,
- 5:42Speaker 2: seeing that weather and knowing that that was what was
- 5:44Speaker 2: going on and daring Jared's did him to go out
- 5:47Speaker 2: there and win.
- 5:48Speaker 1: It was the best thing that he did today. Drake
- 5:52Speaker 1: May was just not he was like not existent in
- 5:55Speaker 1: this game too. Ten of twenty one, eight eighty six yards.
- 6:00Speaker 1: The ground game was there for him and he was
- 6:02Speaker 1: able to save the day with that eighted sixty five
- 6:04Speaker 1: yards in that score, and he did pick up the
- 6:07Speaker 1: first down that essentially clinched for the New England Patriots,
- 6:12Speaker 1: But it was just an ugly game. Credit to New England.
- 6:15Speaker 1: They are the first team in NFL history to beat
- 6:18Speaker 1: three top five total defenses in the playoffs. And what
- 6:22Speaker 1: I would think is a heavily correlated stat that might
- 6:25Speaker 1: lead a lot of folks to betting on the Seattle Seahawks.
- 6:29Speaker 1: And I'm not telling you quite yet that that's a
- 6:31Speaker 1: bad idea. The Patriots have averaged eighteen points per game
- 6:35Speaker 1: in the postseason, the fewest by any team to make
- 6:38Speaker 1: the Super Bowl since the nineteen seventy nine Rams. But
- 6:42Speaker 1: I mean that which sounds damning, guys. But when I
- 6:47Speaker 1: reach you the first stat that they just went up
- 6:50Speaker 1: against three of the top defenses in the NFL, the Chargers,
- 6:53Speaker 1: the Texans, and then the Broncos, and then the second
- 6:55Speaker 1: half against Denver in a snowstorm. I think it's a
- 6:57Speaker 1: little more reasonable.
- 6:59Speaker 2: No, totally, it's a lot more reasonable.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Go ahead, most.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Teams don't get to face a backup quarterback making his
- 7:04Speaker 3: first throwing his first pass Nantasy Championship. I mean, they
- 7:07Speaker 3: haven't faced a healthy offense yet in the playoffs, so.
- 7:10Speaker 2: That they're gonna com for you.
- 7:14Speaker 3: No, that, I mean that definitely helps. You're facing three
- 7:16Speaker 3: top den detail. I mean, yeah, your offense didn't do anything,
- 7:18Speaker 3: but you didn't have to do much because you're facing
- 7:21Speaker 3: just completely bankrupt offenses.
- 7:24Speaker 2: If the Broncos had any run game whatsoever, how different
- 7:28Speaker 2: do you think this outcome would have been.
- 7:32Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, they really. I mean obviously they missed Nicks,
- 7:34Speaker 3: and I mean Nick's biggest value was late in games,
- 7:38Speaker 3: and not having him in his legs was massive. But yeah,
- 7:41Speaker 3: in those conditions, not having a run game was just killer.
- 7:45Speaker 1: I do think if they have Nicks, they probably win
- 7:48Speaker 1: the game.
- 7:48Speaker 3: But I mean the whole game is different. It's hard
- 7:50Speaker 3: to say that.
- 7:51Speaker 1: I said before we got on.
- 7:53Speaker 2: We only saw one interception today and it was Jared Studdam.
- 7:59Speaker 1: Yep, that's kind of nuts. The uh real quick, before
- 8:02Speaker 1: I move on, I want to talk about this spread
- 8:04Speaker 1: and we definitely want to talk about the Rams and
- 8:05Speaker 1: the Seahawks. Does today do anything? Maybe the votes are
- 8:10Speaker 1: already in for the MVP, but just interest, but at
- 8:14Speaker 1: least in our eyes, today has to shape some opinions
- 8:19Speaker 1: or reshape some opinions because Drake may was just sort
- 8:23Speaker 1: of He made a couple of big plays, but he
- 8:26Speaker 1: was just sort of there. Matt Stafford was certainly not
- 8:30Speaker 1: the reason his team loss. He put up a phenomenal
- 8:32Speaker 1: stat line. He was great today. Do you think that
- 8:35Speaker 1: changes anybody's mind if they were on one side of
- 8:37Speaker 1: the fence today shifts them to the other side. I
- 8:40Speaker 1: mean it might not matter, but I mean it's.
- 8:42Speaker 3: A regular season award. Then votes already ends, it doesn't matter.
- 8:45Speaker 3: But yeah, I thought Stafford was tremendous that. I mean,
- 8:51Speaker 3: the Rams offense destroyed the Seattle defense the entire game.
- 8:55Speaker 3: They average almost nine yards per play in the game
- 8:59Speaker 3: and where they put up five hundred yards again, I
- 9:02Speaker 3: think would let the Rams down. They think there was
- 9:05Speaker 3: three things. I mean, one, obviously, the fourth down at
- 9:08Speaker 3: the end was huge that probably decided the game. But
- 9:13Speaker 3: I think what decided the game earlier on was the
- 9:17Speaker 3: special teams, which was one of my concerns with the
- 9:19Speaker 3: Rams trying to field a punt on your back which
- 9:22Speaker 3: led to a twelve yard touchdown drive that was huge.
- 9:26Speaker 3: And then at the end of the first half they
- 9:27Speaker 3: botched the clock and then they ended up giving the
- 9:29Speaker 3: Seahawks the ball back and the se scored a touchdown. Like,
- 9:33Speaker 3: those two plays were huge. You could say the fourth
- 9:35Speaker 3: down and then like the tawning wash each other out,
- 9:38Speaker 3: But those two plays the end of the first half,
- 9:40Speaker 3: I thought it was so big. And then obviously just
- 9:42Speaker 3: gifting the Seahawks a touchdown in the second half, because
- 9:45Speaker 3: I mean, you look at this, what the Rams averaged
- 9:49Speaker 3: eight point four yards per play the Seahawks six point one.
- 9:53Speaker 3: They outgained them by one hundred and thirty yards. Both
- 9:56Speaker 3: quarterbacks were tremendous. The Rams had more success running the ball.
- 9:59Speaker 3: They averaged five point two yards per carry the Seahawks
- 10:01Speaker 3: under three. And now some of that came off late,
- 10:05Speaker 3: but I thought, like on a down the down basis,
- 10:07Speaker 3: the Rams were better, but they just they're special teams.
- 10:12Speaker 3: There also was another play and this was credit to
- 10:15Speaker 3: the Seahawks for this. The Rams were going to block
- 10:16Speaker 3: a punt and the Seahawks held a smart hole. It
- 10:21Speaker 3: only cost them ten yards. But in the second half,
- 10:23Speaker 3: here were Here were the Rams drives in the second half,
- 10:27Speaker 3: four plays seventy five yards touchdown, five plays eighty seven
- 10:30Speaker 3: yards touchdown, fourteen plays eighty four yards. Nothing they weren't.
- 10:36Speaker 3: I mean, they went eighty four, eighty seven and seventy five,
- 10:40Speaker 3: only had the ball three times, and the Seahawks really
- 10:43Speaker 3: only put one scoring drive together, you know, not outside
- 10:46Speaker 3: of that muff punt. It was a nine play sixty
- 10:48Speaker 3: five yard drive. So yeah, I thought that. I thought
- 10:52Speaker 3: the Seahawks were pretty fortunate, but you had a going
- 10:55Speaker 3: into it. The special teams were concerned for the Rams.
- 10:58Speaker 3: That's where the Seahawks had had an edge and that
- 11:00Speaker 3: ended up possibly being the difference. So great game. I
- 11:05Speaker 3: felt like it was a coin flip game going in,
- 11:07Speaker 3: and I felt like it was a coin flip game
- 11:08Speaker 3: after watching it. But that was not just a relief
- 11:13Speaker 3: from a football fan after watching the AFC Championship game.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I kind of wish that was the Super Bowl,
- 11:19Speaker 1: but this is this is what we have now, Seahawks Patriots,
- 11:22Speaker 1: not the worst of all of the draws that we
- 11:24Speaker 1: could have wound up with. You know that the special
- 11:27Speaker 1: team situation is bad. When Kyron Williams, who doesn't return
- 11:30Speaker 1: punts at the end of the game, is in in
- 11:32Speaker 1: punt return duty, just an absolute disaster all season. They
- 11:36Speaker 1: fire their special teams coach and then they're making decisions
- 11:39Speaker 1: like that mid game because Javi or Smith muffs the
- 11:42Speaker 1: punt and that's the kind of thing in a tight
- 11:45Speaker 1: game that can absolutely screw you. You also had how
- 11:48Speaker 1: about this one when Rieke Wollen taunts the Rams bench
- 11:53Speaker 1: and then I hate that call Stafford next play goes right,
- 11:58Speaker 1: goes right after him poking cool with the touchdown. He
- 12:03Speaker 1: was on the sideline yelling at the opposition. I mean,
- 12:07Speaker 1: that is like the definition of if you're gonna call
- 12:09Speaker 1: it taunting, that is Isn't that exactly what taunting is? Kendro,
- 12:12Speaker 1: Why do you disagree with that?
- 12:14Speaker 2: I mean, I understand it is like the definition of
- 12:17Speaker 2: what taunting is, but it's it's a championship game, like
- 12:21Speaker 2: let I hate to be like let the Boys play.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Like, let the Boys play. Oh my god, why are
- 12:26Speaker 1: we so soft? I hate it. I get it it.
- 12:29Speaker 1: It is the definition of it.
- 12:31Speaker 2: And Seahawks fans, if they lost that game, we're going
- 12:34Speaker 2: to hate him for that four ever for sure.
- 12:38Speaker 1: But like, just come on, it's just we're.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Getting softer and softer, and I like some of it
- 12:44Speaker 2: and dislike some of it. This is one of the dislikes.
- 12:46Speaker 2: I hate the taunting calls for like anything really like let.
- 12:50Speaker 1: The Boys celebrate.
- 12:51Speaker 2: I bring back the Jimmy Graham goalpost dunk. I want
- 12:55Speaker 2: those back. I want to have fun. No fun league
- 12:58Speaker 2: strikes again.
- 12:59Speaker 1: Well, I mean, and that it wasn't even the worst
- 13:01Speaker 1: move than any defensive back made in the game, my wote.
- 13:04Speaker 1: I'll just go ahead and give that out now. Kobe
- 13:06Speaker 1: Durant of the Rams holds Cooper Cup second and seven
- 13:10Speaker 1: right before the two minute warning. That was the season
- 13:13Speaker 1: ender in my opinion, So Kobe Durant, you get my
- 13:16Speaker 1: vote for today.
- 13:17Speaker 3: I hated that call too. I mean that there was
- 13:20Speaker 3: there was the Seahawks held like there was probably six
- 13:23Speaker 3: or seven holes on the Seahawks defensive backs that they
- 13:25Speaker 3: didn't call A couple early you know, they had that
- 13:28Speaker 3: face mask that killed a drive that they didn't call.
- 13:32Speaker 3: I mean, I would have let that go too, but
- 13:34Speaker 3: I also wouldn't have called the tawning. It's just just
- 13:37Speaker 3: warn them, like there's just no need to potentially swing
- 13:40Speaker 3: a game on that.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Speaking of warnings, what did you guys think of the
- 13:45Speaker 2: end of the game, Like, even if Seattle knew for
- 13:48Speaker 2: a fact that Puka was down, if they had to
- 13:50Speaker 2: review that and everybody was on the field, do you
- 13:52Speaker 2: think that there's going to be some sort of like
- 13:54Speaker 2: warning or discussion or something like that from the NFL,
- 13:57Speaker 2: because it kind of from some people's angles, could have
- 14:00Speaker 2: been argued that he was out of bounds. I just
- 14:02Speaker 2: thought that they prematurely rushed the field way too quick.
- 14:06Speaker 1: I thought it was pretty originally when I saw the catch,
- 14:09Speaker 1: I thought the same thing the moment I saw the replay.
- 14:13Speaker 1: He was clearly down in bounds. He quickly slides out,
- 14:16Speaker 1: But that slide is sort of irrelevant, so they could
- 14:22Speaker 1: have spent more time on it. I think they would
- 14:23Speaker 1: have come to the same conclusion, though.
- 14:25Speaker 2: I think they definitely would have come to the same conclusion.
- 14:27Speaker 2: I just I thought that it was a little premature considering.
- 14:30Speaker 1: It's just it's tough. It's hard to I think it's
- 14:33Speaker 1: hard to wrangle that. I'm sure that they would have
- 14:34Speaker 1: loved to have spent a minute and a half on that,
- 14:36Speaker 1: but it's hard to wrangle that many people. You know,
- 14:39Speaker 1: it's like the Stanford band sometimes, you know, people just
- 14:42Speaker 1: get excited about celebrating. That's simple. We do have a
- 14:46Speaker 1: line on the Super Bowl, by the way, we'll get
- 14:47Speaker 1: to that in a moment. Goats and wotes anybody before
- 14:50Speaker 1: we move on to what is in front of us
- 14:54Speaker 1: stuck you it would be your goat and your vote today.
- 14:58Speaker 3: My vote is McVeigh. I think another poorly coached game.
- 15:03Speaker 3: Just in game at the end of the first half.
- 15:06Speaker 3: They I mean that they gave Seattle seven not kicking
- 15:09Speaker 3: the field goal. You got you gotta play to cover
- 15:11Speaker 3: the game Sewan late. But I thought he would coach
- 15:16Speaker 3: the poor like in like the little things, and that
- 15:18Speaker 3: ended up mattering. And then my goat is I don't
- 15:25Speaker 3: even know my goat is. I mean, like, I guess
- 15:27Speaker 3: Drake may for underthrowing Keyshan booty times because I had
- 15:32Speaker 3: his under catches and he couldn't hit how many times?
- 15:37Speaker 3: Six targets. He was underthrown five times when he wasn't
- 15:41Speaker 3: on certain Uh well, my good certain he shut down
- 15:45Speaker 3: everything deep late, which helped with the cover. So, uh yeah.
- 15:53Speaker 2: What about you, Kenda, I am going to go with
- 15:56Speaker 2: my goat being Jared that I'm legs by over.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Hey, we got it. We got it over on two
- 16:02Speaker 1: fronts too.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Yeah, so that was a really nice hit. I had
- 16:06Speaker 2: some nice text messages from my coworkers for that one.
- 16:09Speaker 2: And then I'm gonna go with my WoT the Rams defense.
- 16:12Speaker 2: They just when they need to stop sometimes it's just
- 16:15Speaker 2: they're shooting themselves in the in their own foot. Couldn't
- 16:18Speaker 2: get a stop today when they needed one most and
- 16:21Speaker 2: it was just a bad look for them today in
- 16:24Speaker 2: my opinion.
- 16:24Speaker 1: So I'm going to go with the.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Rams defense costing me going three and oh today.
- 16:29Speaker 1: You uh, you guys were nailing it. We were up
- 16:32Speaker 1: one point six units. As a podcast, I'm gonna give
- 16:39Speaker 1: my go to Mike Rabel for letting his team party tonight. Uh.
- 16:43Speaker 1: His team message after the team won the game was
- 16:47Speaker 1: that there's no curve. There's they have no curfew tonight,
- 16:51Speaker 1: but the bus leaves at eight am. So if you
- 16:54Speaker 1: ain't on it. You ain't playing in the super Bowl.
- 16:57Speaker 1: So credit to Mike Rabel for knowing how to have
- 17:00Speaker 1: a good time. Also, two favorites out there.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Wait, I have one more goat. I'm so sorry, I'm
- 17:06Speaker 2: so sorry. I have more goat the Tennessee Titans for
- 17:11Speaker 2: letting that motherfucker go.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Thank you many his eaters, Fuck you guys, thank you
- 17:17Speaker 1: amen into that. Now they have Robert Salo see if
- 17:20Speaker 1: they can change their fortunes. There My biggest.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Another goat, by the way, another goat is.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Uh oh, sure, go ahead, guys.
- 17:28Speaker 3: I thought McDonald like, I really did think McDonald and
- 17:30Speaker 3: out coach mcdag like. Going back to that end of
- 17:33Speaker 3: the half. The Brams have the ball second and five
- 17:36Speaker 3: up thirteen to ten with a minute five to go
- 17:40Speaker 3: at the end of the first half, and they give
- 17:41Speaker 3: up a touchdown and then McDonald late stays aggressive on
- 17:47Speaker 3: those third downs that they were able to convert to
- 17:49Speaker 3: not because I think the Rams get the ball back,
- 17:51Speaker 3: they're going down. I mean they're going down the field
- 17:53Speaker 3: where whether or not they finish off the drive or not,
- 17:55Speaker 3: it's another question. But staying aggressive late and not just
- 18:00Speaker 3: hurtling with three runs and then punting back to an
- 18:02Speaker 3: offense that you haven't stopped all half thought that was huge.
- 18:05Speaker 3: A lot of coaches wouldn't have done that with a
- 18:07Speaker 3: trip to the super Bowl on the line. So yeah,
- 18:10Speaker 3: I thought all the little things McDonald did better than
- 18:12Speaker 3: mcbah today.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Amen to that. The Seahawks in general gonna be my
- 18:18Speaker 1: biggest goat, and they were a heavy favorite today, at
- 18:21Speaker 1: least in terms of on the money line. That was
- 18:25Speaker 1: my biggest hit today. If you were just betting favorites,
- 18:28Speaker 1: you're just taking chalk. After the wild card round, you've
- 18:32Speaker 1: been doing nothing but winning bets. An underdog has not
- 18:35Speaker 1: won since the wild card round. Thank you Evan Abrams
- 18:39Speaker 1: for that one. So the Patriots have that working against
- 18:43Speaker 1: them because they are now we'll hold it because we're
- 18:47Speaker 1: gonna give you this in just a second.
- 18:49Speaker 3: One underdog of more than a point has won all
- 18:52Speaker 3: playoffs was the forty nine.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Ers, That's right, and they went up to that went
- 18:58Speaker 1: up to five and a half six, I think as
- 19:02Speaker 1: that one closed. So yeah, it's the Bills and the
- 19:06Speaker 1: Bears and then the forty nine ers, and that's it.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Every other favorite has won, and now the Seahawks installed
- 19:13Speaker 1: as favorites going into the Super Bowl. We're gonna keep
- 19:15Speaker 1: it rolling in a moment, But first I'm going to
- 19:16Speaker 1: toss it to Kendra for a word about our partners
- 19:19Speaker 1: at Draft Kings.

- 19:52Speaker 4: bet wins, the crown is yours.
- 19:55Speaker 1: All right, let's talk about Super Bowl sixty. The line
- 19:58Speaker 1: is out and we have all already seen movement, some
- 20:02Speaker 1: significant movement. Seattle opened his three and a half point
- 20:06Speaker 1: favorites against Seattle and Santa Clara over under forty six
- 20:09Speaker 1: and a half, and then as we went live, that
- 20:14Speaker 1: line moved a full point in favor of the Seattle Seahawks.
- 20:18Speaker 1: The Seattle is now minus four and a half over
- 20:20Speaker 1: on DraftKings at minus one oh eight. If you want
- 20:22Speaker 1: the Patriots at this current moment, at this current price,
- 20:26Speaker 1: they are plus four and a half at minus one twelve. Kendrew,
- 20:31Speaker 1: are you surprised that the line has already shifted this dramatically?
- 20:36Speaker 1: I honestly I figured that public money would be on
- 20:41Speaker 1: the Seahawks, just simply because of the offensive ineptitude of
- 20:46Speaker 1: the Patriots that we've seen throughout the playoffs and especially
- 20:48Speaker 1: what we saw today. People are going to bet what
- 20:50Speaker 1: they've seen most recently. But this is pretty drastic for
- 20:56Speaker 1: an opening move.
- 20:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I am a little surprised, just because
- 21:01Speaker 2: of how quickly it happened. I understand why it happened,
- 21:06Speaker 2: but man, it's not that it's not the sheer fact
- 21:10Speaker 2: that it moved. It's just as quickly as we started talking,
- 21:12Speaker 2: it felt like it changed. I think that's a surprise
- 21:15Speaker 2: for me.
- 21:16Speaker 1: I would expect this, I am I'm surprised by the
- 21:20Speaker 1: number itself. I would expect Seattle to be around a
- 21:24Speaker 1: four and a half five point favorite against New England
- 21:28Speaker 1: if this game was in Seattle. This is a neutral site,
- 21:32Speaker 1: So I'm a little bit I'm a little surprised that
- 21:35Speaker 1: the numbers is fat stuck you what's your initial read
- 21:38Speaker 1: on the line itself.
- 21:41Speaker 3: Yeah, at five, I bet the Patriots so like it
- 21:47Speaker 3: I make it in Seattle. I think I make it
- 21:51Speaker 3: coming into this way. I have to update this weekend,
- 21:53Speaker 3: but I think coming into this weekend in Seattle, I
- 21:57Speaker 3: made the Seahawks, like for a like, if it was
- 22:02Speaker 3: a home game.
- 22:03Speaker 1: There you go. So uh so, this one feels somewhat preposterous.
- 22:08Speaker 3: I mean, home field isn't like that much in the NFL.
- 22:11Speaker 3: Seattle a little a little bigger than than many. But yeah,
- 22:18Speaker 3: I think three and a half is probably the right
- 22:19Speaker 3: number without I mean, I wouldn't adjust too much for
- 22:22Speaker 3: him today, Like it's I think the Seals probably got
- 22:25Speaker 3: outplayed and the Patriots played a backup you know, you know,
- 22:30Speaker 3: snowstorm the second half. I don't know how much I
- 22:32Speaker 3: can take from that game, right, Like they clearly were
- 22:34Speaker 3: just like we're not going to lose the game, Like
- 22:37Speaker 3: Drake May wasn't great again, which isn't amazing, But because like,
- 22:42Speaker 3: my concern is that my biggest concern here is for one,
- 22:46Speaker 3: the Patriots, Rundy's gonna be able to hold up. I
- 22:49Speaker 3: know that. So it's gonna come down to Donald and
- 22:52Speaker 3: how well they can take away JSN. But Drake May
- 22:56Speaker 3: now is only he's faced you know, three top five defenses,
- 23:00Speaker 3: first quarterback to ever beat him, but he's done nothing
- 23:02Speaker 3: against them, right, like, and all year he didn't face
- 23:05Speaker 3: any good defenses. So the first time we've seen them
- 23:08Speaker 3: against three top five, top ten, whatever you want to
- 23:11Speaker 3: call defenses, it's not been great. The offensive line has
- 23:14Speaker 3: not been great. Well, you're going to face another one
- 23:16Speaker 3: here and argue you the best, So that would be
- 23:18Speaker 3: my concern. But the five feels high.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Yeah, five feels high, but I am concerned about six
- 23:26Speaker 2: the Patriots.
- 23:27Speaker 3: I doubt I would get there.
- 23:28Speaker 1: But okay, then let's play a quick game here. Where
- 23:32Speaker 1: do you think this line closes? Super Bowl Sunday at
- 23:36Speaker 1: six o'clock. What do you think the line is? Sucky
- 23:39Speaker 1: says four.
- 23:40Speaker 2: I was going to say three and a half or four.
- 23:43Speaker 1: I agree with your initial assessment. I think this goes
- 23:47Speaker 1: back down to three and a half. I would bet
- 23:50Speaker 1: this right now if I didn't already, I might actually
- 23:53Speaker 1: do it. But I have that Patriots to win the
- 23:56Speaker 1: Super Bowl bet from when bow Nicks went down plus
- 24:00Speaker 1: four twenty five, and there's a part of me that
- 24:04Speaker 1: just wants to park on that. But yeah, I can't
- 24:08Speaker 1: refreshing it.
- 24:10Speaker 3: So, I mean, got two weeks to think about talking
- 24:13Speaker 3: exactly so.
- 24:13Speaker 1: And that's the thing. There's so much to break down
- 24:16Speaker 1: to and there's so much, I mean, talk about a
- 24:18Speaker 1: market worth reading. It's the Super Bowl. It's the most
- 24:20Speaker 1: heavily bet game in the entire year, so there is
- 24:26Speaker 1: no rush. But if if you are of the opinion
- 24:30Speaker 1: that this line is going to move down to three
- 24:32Speaker 1: and a half by clothes, if you're confident in that
- 24:35Speaker 1: opinion and you want to be on New England, now
- 24:37Speaker 1: is the time to get it. I think the consensus
- 24:39Speaker 1: point on this podcast right now is if you like Seattle,
- 24:42Speaker 1: don't bet the game yet.
- 24:43Speaker 3: You're in a dead range. You're at a dead range
- 24:45Speaker 3: if you like Yeah, if you like Seattle, like the
- 24:47Speaker 3: difference between going to four and a half to five
- 24:49Speaker 3: to five and a half is nothing, But if you
- 24:51Speaker 3: want to the Patriots and you think this comes back
- 24:54Speaker 3: down you know, obviously three and four key numbers.
- 24:58Speaker 1: We'll have definitive opinion for you on all of this
- 25:01Speaker 1: by the time we get to Tuesday and Thursday, and
- 25:04Speaker 1: definitely by next week. But is there any bets? I
- 25:08Speaker 1: believe Kendrew, you've already placed a wager that you have
- 25:11Speaker 1: tracking right now. So I already have a bet on
- 25:15Speaker 1: the game. Uh that I'm not now, I'm not talking
- 25:18Speaker 1: about the Patriots futures bet, but an MVP bet. Kendra,
- 25:23Speaker 1: What have you played so far in the super Bowl?
- 25:25Speaker 2: Okay, So I'm gonna go with the over. I feel
- 25:30Speaker 2: like this is gonna go one of two ways, and
- 25:32Speaker 2: I might buy out of this eventually, but this is
- 25:35Speaker 2: gonna go one of two ways. I think I either
- 25:37Speaker 2: go I'm gonna go over. I agree with that, Yeah, correct,
- 25:45Speaker 2: I'm gonna two ways. Either Drake may is going to
- 25:48Speaker 2: be able to continue to look the way that he has,
- 25:50Speaker 2: He's gonna elevate in a big moment and they're gonna,
- 25:52Speaker 2: you know, go touchdown for a touchdown, or Seattle is
- 25:55Speaker 2: gonna be the crap out of them and put forty
- 25:56Speaker 2: six up on their own. That's that's what the only
- 26:00Speaker 2: two way I see it going. I think Seattle wins
- 26:02Speaker 2: no matter what. Probably I don't love this number, but
- 26:05Speaker 2: I'm definitely gonna go with Seattle to win this game.
- 26:09Speaker 2: But I think either they're gonna go bo for bow
- 26:12Speaker 2: or Seattle is just gonna run away with it.
- 26:15Speaker 1: And that number is not budged yet, so that forty
- 26:18Speaker 1: six and a half is sitting there. I like JSN
- 26:20Speaker 1: to win MVP of the super Bowl. That line is
- 26:24Speaker 1: starting to get chopped away. It's at plus five point
- 26:26Speaker 1: fifty right now. I think as long as it's north
- 26:29Speaker 1: of five to one, I would bet JSN to win MVP.
- 26:33Speaker 2: The minute that I find the like specialty stuff, I
- 26:38Speaker 2: am going to put so much on bad Bunny opening
- 26:43Speaker 2: with Monaco, it's not even funny.
- 26:45Speaker 1: I could not name one bed Bunny.
- 26:47Speaker 2: Song is in my top three artists every year.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Probably recognize a couple of his tracks, but this is
- 26:54Speaker 1: gonna be a learning experience.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Yeah, the violin opening of Monaco. If you don't think
- 26:59Speaker 2: that is, there is no way they go with anything else,
- 27:04Speaker 2: but that is the open and it's also just so iconic,
- 27:08Speaker 2: and I feel like they usually go with like a
- 27:09Speaker 2: really popular song of theirs, but not their most popular song.
- 27:13Speaker 4: So I think he saves his.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Newest album stuff to close with and he opens with
- 27:18Speaker 2: that because it's just such an iconic.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Opening the stucky have you have you placed anything yet?
- 27:24Speaker 1: Or or have you? Are you also dialed into Bad
- 27:28Speaker 1: Bunnies playlist?
- 27:29Speaker 3: I know I couldn't name one Bad Bunny song. No,
- 27:32Speaker 3: I haven't played anything. I mean it's we have two weeks.
- 27:35Speaker 3: I got to dive into match up all these props.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Now the early bird gets the worm, Stucky, let's not
- 27:41Speaker 1: be You know, if.
- 27:42Speaker 3: I had a strong opinion on something that I thought
- 27:45Speaker 3: was gonna move, I would bet it. But I mean
- 27:46Speaker 3: I didn't even I haven't even looked at anything. I
- 27:51Speaker 3: mean I would bet the Patriots at five are better,
- 27:55Speaker 3: I think, but not in a rush to bet it.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Next guessing exercise this, Uh, where do you think the
- 28:05Speaker 1: public lands on this game? Or do we already know
- 28:09Speaker 1: based on the way they're gonna love the Pats. I
- 28:12Speaker 1: think it's gonna be the other way. I think the
- 28:14Speaker 1: public's gonna be all over Seattle because of the the
- 28:18Speaker 1: offensive firepower that they have and that New England seems
- 28:21Speaker 1: to everybody.
- 28:22Speaker 4: Loves Drake May and his wife.
- 28:23Speaker 1: People are going to spend the week shitting on the
- 28:26Speaker 1: New England Patriots again.
- 28:29Speaker 2: I think people are infatuated with this Patriots team.
- 28:31Speaker 4: Dude.
- 28:32Speaker 3: Now, they tried to better. People tried to bet the
- 28:34Speaker 3: Pats today. It didn't work out, so I think they
- 28:36Speaker 3: might lean Seattle. A lot of everyone bet the Seattle
- 28:38Speaker 3: today and it worked, a lot of recency.
- 28:41Speaker 2: Do you think people are going to bet on Sam
- 28:42Speaker 2: Donald in the Super Bowl?
- 28:44Speaker 3: I mean they've been on Sam Donald today. I think
- 28:47Speaker 3: most people were on the Seahawks today and it worked,
- 28:50Speaker 3: and people most people were on the Patriots and it
- 28:51Speaker 3: didn't work. So there's a lot of recency bots and
- 28:54Speaker 3: how people bet, so I think that they would and
- 28:56Speaker 3: the Patriots have looked like shit. People are gonna talking
- 28:58Speaker 3: about their schedule for two weeks.
- 29:01Speaker 2: I get wait for the calls that we're gonna get.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Oh my god, so I would think.
- 29:06Speaker 3: I think Seattle probably gets more.
- 29:08Speaker 2: Charlie from Medford Colin in Oh my good.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean your your life is about to be
- 29:13Speaker 1: so annoying for two weeks. I want to bring in
- 29:16Speaker 1: our stats sound Evan Abrams for a moment, Evan, if
- 29:19Speaker 1: you are, I don't know if your camera ready or not,
- 29:22Speaker 1: but Hoppin, I'm curious what you think is somebody who
- 29:25Speaker 1: tracks this as feverishly as anybody on planet Earth the
- 29:31Speaker 1: public percentages, what you expect that to look to look like.
- 29:35Speaker 1: I think everybody that bets sports has a varying opinion
- 29:40Speaker 1: of how much that matters. But I think it's it's
- 29:43Speaker 1: pretty well understood that it does have impact on a
- 29:45Speaker 1: game like this, because this is the most heavily bet
- 29:48Speaker 1: game of the year. Where do you think the public
- 29:51Speaker 1: lands on this number? Let's say for most of the
- 29:53Speaker 1: next two weeks it sticks around four. Where do you
- 29:56Speaker 1: think they land?
- 29:58Speaker 3: I honestly have no idea.
- 29:59Speaker 5: I mean think, I mean truthfully. I mean you have
- 30:02Speaker 5: two quarterbacks who people like Drake May had a passer
- 30:06Speaker 5: rating of like one thirteen in the regular season, it's
- 30:08Speaker 5: down to like eighty four in the playoffs, like this
- 30:10Speaker 5: guy has played legitimately terribly, and you have Sam Darnold too.
- 30:14Speaker 5: I think there's people out there who still just won't
- 30:16Speaker 5: believe he's gonna do it, even though he just did
- 30:19Speaker 5: it against the Rams basically twice.
- 30:22Speaker 1: Was the public ever back dogs in the Super Bowl
- 30:25Speaker 1: heavily or is it pretty much always the favorite?
- 30:28Speaker 5: I mean, it's usually the favorite, but if I had
- 30:30Speaker 5: to look, I would guess that there's been some underdogs,
- 30:32Speaker 5: I mean, especially tight underdogs, and.
- 30:34Speaker 3: Some there's a lot of spreads that are like yeah.
- 30:37Speaker 5: I mean, I think it would be interesting to see
- 30:38Speaker 5: a line that gets to like four and a half
- 30:40Speaker 5: or five and see if New England would attract any attention.
- 30:44Speaker 5: I mean, the one thing I'll have in my article
- 30:45Speaker 5: when I put out like teams who failed to cover
- 30:47Speaker 5: the conference championship game and actually get there pretty crappy.
- 30:50Speaker 5: In the Super Bowl, they're like four and ten and
- 30:53Speaker 5: two eleven and one against the spread. So fact in
- 30:55Speaker 5: New England's an underdog here. I mean, I mean we
- 30:58Speaker 5: usually don't see the favorite win the game and not
- 31:02Speaker 5: covering the Super Bowl. It happened with Rams Bengals a
- 31:04Speaker 5: few years ago, but it is pretty rare, so that
- 31:08Speaker 5: is one.
- 31:08Speaker 3: Thing to note.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Also, you like, you already have a bet place, so
- 31:12Speaker 1: go ahead and give it to us.
- 31:14Speaker 5: Oh no, I just think it's gonna get much higher.
- 31:16Speaker 5: So if you're going to place a bet right now,
- 31:17Speaker 5: I mean, Drake May twenty nine and a half rushing
- 31:19Speaker 5: yard seems ideal at this point when I see it
- 31:22Speaker 5: up at thirty one and a half at some books
- 31:24Speaker 5: in the market, and just like we just saw today,
- 31:27Speaker 5: I mean, I think considering with both of the running
- 31:29Speaker 5: backs Travion and Ramandre, Travion not really great so far
- 31:33Speaker 5: this year, a lot of doghouse work and Ramandre short
- 31:36Speaker 5: yardage more back, I think May is going to get
- 31:38Speaker 5: over thirty in this game, especially with the pass rush.
- 31:43Speaker 1: As far as the MVP market goes, so I mentioned JSN.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Is there any other name that you guys think we
- 31:50Speaker 1: should be taking a look at before we officially make
- 31:55Speaker 1: our bets. Darnold, by the way, is the favorite plus
- 31:59Speaker 1: one thirty. Drake May is at plus two thirty five.
- 32:01Speaker 1: Of course, this largely comes down to who you think
- 32:04Speaker 1: is gonna win the football game. Kenneth Walker is six
- 32:06Speaker 1: to one, Romandre twenty five to one. Couna have some
- 32:09Speaker 1: fun with some long shots mentioned Travion. If Travion goes
- 32:12Speaker 1: off seventy five to one is a fun ticket to
- 32:14Speaker 1: have in your background.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Was the first defensive player on that list.
- 32:17Speaker 1: If you have it up, I do, that would be
- 32:24Speaker 1: a man Worri seventy five to one.
- 32:28Speaker 3: I would not go Anderson, especially against his pass rush.
- 32:31Speaker 3: He's probably not going to get that much work and
- 32:33Speaker 3: you can't run on Seattle. Maybe what's what's Drew Locke?
- 32:40Speaker 3: After Donald gets hurt on the first drive.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Now you're thinking, Now you're thinking Drew Lock is not
- 32:47Speaker 1: is not as far down the list. I just told
- 32:50Speaker 1: you that Iman Worri is the number one defensive players
- 32:53Speaker 1: seventy five to one, and Drew Locke and him have
- 32:55Speaker 1: the same odds.
- 32:56Speaker 3: That's because odds makerr ospeakers are smart. They know of
- 32:58Speaker 3: starting quarterbacks not gonna get through a full game against
- 33:01Speaker 3: the Bats. That's another thing with the Pats. You think
- 33:04Speaker 3: they're going to play a face of starting quarterback for
- 33:06Speaker 3: the entire game. Come on, I.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Want to see you just troll track that in the app.
- 33:11Speaker 1: I need this.
- 33:13Speaker 3: Drew Lock Drew Locke MVPA seventy five to one is ridiculous.
- 33:17Speaker 3: It should be way higher.
- 33:18Speaker 1: It should absolutely be way higher. That is they're trolling
- 33:21Speaker 1: us with a line like that. Josh Dobbs is like
- 33:24Speaker 1: a one hundred to one.
- 33:26Speaker 3: I'm trying to think who else is reasonable that I
- 33:31Speaker 3: would think about yeah, Hunter Henry, it's no tight I
- 33:37Speaker 3: mean tight ends never won it, right, Evan so hard
- 33:41Speaker 3: for a tight end to win it.
- 33:42Speaker 1: I mean May Love May loves his tight end. How
- 33:44Speaker 1: about a nice Swan song for Cooper Cup at ninety
- 33:47Speaker 1: to one.
- 33:50Speaker 3: Booty, like if he just has a bunch of long receptions.
- 33:56Speaker 5: I mean Drake may takes a lot of sacks.
- 33:57Speaker 3: I mean somebody on the Seattle's line, Lawrence or something. Yeah, yeah,
- 34:04Speaker 3: I mean Seattle defensive touchdowns, they're always live. I mean
- 34:08Speaker 3: you could maybe it's like, what is she Heed? What
- 34:12Speaker 3: did you say she was?
- 34:14Speaker 1: I had not mentioned she Heed, but I like the
- 34:15Speaker 1: idea because.
- 34:16Speaker 3: He could get stuff in special teams.
- 34:18Speaker 2: Exactly get you're going to come out that.
- 34:22Speaker 1: I'm so glad to see this.
- 34:23Speaker 2: I don't know what happened. I didn't touch it, but
- 34:26Speaker 2: it's gonna be so crazy to see it come out
- 34:27Speaker 2: like Darnald Oblique worse than people saw it, Drew Locke
- 34:31Speaker 2: Super Bowl.
- 34:33Speaker 1: I mean, if that's the case.
- 34:34Speaker 3: Just don'd gonna get her playing basketball like tomorrow.
- 34:37Speaker 1: Take Pats plus four and a half and move on
- 34:39Speaker 1: with your lives. People. By the way, she head is
- 34:42Speaker 1: twenty eight to one. And I like that that'd be
- 34:44Speaker 1: like a Heisman MVP, the way that he kind of
- 34:46Speaker 1: is able to do everything.
- 34:47Speaker 3: Yeah, because you also have like another one is another
- 34:51Speaker 3: one to consider. I don't know. This isn't my specialty
- 34:53Speaker 3: out to talk with our prop guys like Marcus Jones
- 34:59Speaker 3: because he played his defense and he's one of the
- 35:01Speaker 3: best punt returners. Yeah. So it's a good shout. If
- 35:05Speaker 3: you're looking for like super long shots, I haven't got it.
- 35:08Speaker 1: We saw Bobo catch a touchdown. He's a buck fifty
- 35:11Speaker 1: to one. Stefan Diggs who avoided arraignment or whatever, is
- 35:16Speaker 1: sixty to one.
- 35:17Speaker 2: So after the Super Bowl, I need to see what
- 35:19Speaker 2: Darnold's price for an interception is.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Kendra, what's the what's the what's the CARDI b prop
- 35:24Speaker 1: gonna be in this game?
- 35:26Speaker 2: Ooh how many times she's on screen? Probably because same
- 35:29Speaker 2: thing they do with Taylor Swift.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I chop that number in a half. Probably.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Yeah. I would say if there's like a one and
- 35:38Speaker 2: a half, I would say twice would be the answer.
- 35:41Speaker 2: I can't wait for all the weird exotic prop show
- 35:44Speaker 2: that we're going to do. That is where I personally
- 35:46Speaker 2: go insane. At the Super Bowl, Like, how long is
- 35:49Speaker 2: the anthem?
- 35:50Speaker 1: Oh, the gate raid, I'll do some research on the
- 35:53Speaker 1: anthem for sure, you'll definitely definitely do that. All right,
- 35:56Speaker 1: let's keep the rest of this in our back pocket.

- 36:22Speaker 1: get to as well. Kendro is gonna fill our plate
