- 0:00Dayna Roselli: Welcome everyone to Vegas Revealed episode 342.
- 0:04Dayna Roselli: Dayna Roselli and Sean McAllister here, and we have a long list of stuff to discuss today.
- 0:09Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh, do we ever?
- 0:11Sean McAllister: We have a great conversation with Donny Osmond.
- 0:13Sean McAllister: Some really candid moments in there.
- 0:16Sean McAllister: Uh, plus John Mayer.
- 0:18Sean McAllister: His residency at Sphere has been exciting so many people, and we have new information about that show, plus a great off-strip Italian spot you might want to try, and who doesn't love a block party?
- 0:31Dayna Roselli: With one of the oldest dive bars in Las Vegas.
- 0:33Dayna Roselli: So we got a lot to get to, and we have tons of stories to tell, different things that Sean and I have been doing.
- 0:38Dayna Roselli: We had a busy weekend.
- 0:39Dayna Roselli: I had uh some 21-year-olds in town.
- 0:42Dayna Roselli: My friend's daughter and her friend, they were in for this big college weekend.
- 0:47Dayna Roselli: So apparently they were saying there were like 50 colleges and universities in town.
- 0:52Dayna Roselli: Um, so it they were all over doing different things, hitting the clubs, and uh, they're from the University of Kentucky.
- 0:59Dayna Roselli: And Sean, I just want to say they literally had the best time of their life.
- 1:04Dayna Roselli: And it just keeps reminding me we get so used to living here.
- 1:08Sean McAllister: Well, I was just thinking, so I know what my uh itinerary would be for generally for a Vegas night out, but for uh 21-year-old college students who probably don't come to Vegas regularly.
- 1:23Sean McAllister: What's on the itinerary for?
- 1:26Dayna Roselli: Uh clubs.
- 1:26Dayna Roselli: They love the clubs and they love DJs.
- 1:29Dayna Roselli: It made me realize how I mean, we already knew DJs are so popular, but they just love it.
- 1:34Dayna Roselli: That is their that those are the stars for them.
- 1:37Sean McAllister: That's it.
- 1:37Dayna Roselli: The DJs, yes.
- 1:38Dayna Roselli: Um, they did come a day early.
- 1:40Dayna Roselli: We went out to dinner.
- 1:41Dayna Roselli: Um, I got them a room at Virgin, Las Vegas.
- 1:44Dayna Roselli: That was great.
- 1:45Dayna Roselli: And uh they went to Absinthe on their own.
- 1:47Dayna Roselli: So they did see a show, loved it.
- 1:49Dayna Roselli: Um, but no, their itinerary for like the college weekend part of it was Encore Beach Club, Live Nightclub, and Omnia Nightclub.
- 1:59Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh.
- 2:00Dayna Roselli: So Omnia, they had DJ Poly D.
- 2:02Dayna Roselli: I worked some magic to help them get in a little bit to uh live on Friday night for Dom Dalla.
- 2:09Dayna Roselli: Um and then the night before they were at Encore Beach Club.
- 2:13Dayna Roselli: I forget who was DJing.
- 2:14Dayna Roselli: They got in the DJ booth, they were treated wonderfully and dressed to the nines.
- 2:20Dayna Roselli: They brought sparkly dresses.
- 2:22Dayna Roselli: The whole thing, I mean, this was like an orchestrated oiled machine.
- 2:27Dayna Roselli: They just until I brought them to the airport on Sunday, they were Vegasing.
- 2:34Sean McAllister: They took advantage of every single minute of their time here?
- 2:37Dayna Roselli: Every minute, yes.
- 2:38Dayna Roselli: I mean, they were at Alexis for brunch, they were at Lemongrass for dinner at Aria.
- 2:42Dayna Roselli: I mean, they were like all over.
- 2:44Sean McAllister: And so what did they think?
- 2:45Sean McAllister: I'm curious, what did they think of Las Vegas?
- 2:49Sean McAllister: We keep hearing all these things.
- 2:50Sean McAllister: Oh, feelings toward Vegas, perceptions toward Vegas are changing.
- 2:54Sean McAllister: What did these 21-year-olds, these newly minted adults well?
- 2:58Dayna Roselli: One of them said, you know, I never would think that I would do a bachelorette party here, but now that I've been here, I have such a different take on it.
- 3:07Dayna Roselli: And now I would definitely do it like for sure.
- 3:11Dayna Roselli: Like, seems like the most fun place to do a bachelorette party.
- 3:14Sean McAllister: Great.
- 3:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 3:15Dayna Roselli: So um, and they just thought it was amazing.
- 3:19Dayna Roselli: They just, they loved it, they loved everything about it.
- 3:22Dayna Roselli: So, I mean, it does add to the fun when there's a lot of people your age in town doing different things.
- 3:28Dayna Roselli: Like they ran into people that they saw at their hotel and that were from other schools and from their own college and university.
- 3:34Dayna Roselli: So, I mean, like that adds to the vibe, almost like that spring break feel.
- 3:38Sean McAllister: Right.
- 3:39Dayna Roselli: Because it was like college fall break.
- 3:40Dayna Roselli: So, yeah.
- 3:41Sean McAllister: Well, and now just thinking about it, like Vegas really does offer something for like all generations of visitors.
- 3:51Sean McAllister: I was just thinking, like the the party club kind of itinerary is not something that would be for me.
- 3:59Sean McAllister: But if you wanted to come in and have just a complete spa retreat for your entire stay, you could do that too.
- 4:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:09Sean McAllister: Go spa hopping, go, you know, pop around to restaurants that have really great, fresh, healthy menus.
- 4:17Sean McAllister: It's great.
- 4:19Dayna Roselli: It is great.
- 4:21Sean McAllister: If that's what you choose.
- 4:22Sean McAllister: Sure.
- 4:22Sean McAllister: You could party or you could be super chill and just relax.
- 4:25Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 4:26Dayna Roselli: And when they um got here, they said, Oh, there's a lot of older people.
- 4:28Dayna Roselli: We were down at the par, and I said, Well, you know, Metallica's sold out.
- 4:31Dayna Roselli: That's an older generation, period.
- 4:33Dayna Roselli: And then I had uh five friends in town for Metallica both nights, too, the same weekend.
- 4:37Dayna Roselli: So you do think about the variety.
- 4:39Dayna Roselli: You know, you've got people my age, uh, generation in town for Metallica.
- 4:45Dayna Roselli: You've got the 21-year-olds and the 22-year-olds from um college, senior year in college or university in town.
- 4:53Dayna Roselli: I mean, so it's it's a mix, you know, a little bit of something for everyone.
- 4:57Dayna Roselli: And that's what we're built on, and that's awesome.
- 4:59Sean McAllister: It is.
- 4:59Sean McAllister: And my aunt and cousin uh have been in town for the past few days too.
- 5:03Sean McAllister: My cousin, a big Metallica fan, she's the one who listened to Metallica back in the day when we were kids and really introduced me to Metallica music.
- 5:13Sean McAllister: And she was even saying, she was like, you know, I looked at the um tickets.
- 5:17Sean McAllister: She didn't end up going to a show this time, but um, she was like, you know, when I was back home looking into this, I saw all these things that tickets are like $1,700 and blah, blah, blah.
- 5:29Sean McAllister: She's like, but I just looked earlier and there's tickets for like $399, $4.99.
- 5:36Sean McAllister: Now that's obviously still a splurge, but she was like, I would totally do that.
- 5:41Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 5:41Dayna Roselli: For Metallica One Night, you mean?
- 5:43Sean McAllister: For one night of Metallica, probably resale.
- 5:45Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 5:46Sean McAllister: It was resale, yeah.
- 5:46Sean McAllister: On the day of or uh it was day of, yeah.
- 5:50Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that's good to know because I had someone write me.
- 5:52Dayna Roselli: Um John, he's been on the podcast, you know, John Killed.
- 5:55Dayna Roselli: And he said, I want to go to Metallica, but I don't want to spend he said, Do you think day of like StubHub and other ticket sites, it'll go down?
- 6:02Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, I've heard that it does, but I can't guarantee it.
- 6:06Dayna Roselli: So he was gonna try that route.
- 6:07Dayna Roselli: So good to know.
- 6:08Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 6:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 6:08Dayna Roselli: A lot of people sometimes if their tickets aren't selling, they'll just dump them for lower than they expected to get, right?
- 6:15Sean McAllister: It's better to get something than nothing.
- 6:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah, because they are sold out, so you know people are selling them.
- 6:20Sean McAllister: Well, and a lot of people are trying to sell them for probably double face value.
- 6:23Dayna Roselli: Yeah, exactly.
- 6:24Sean McAllister: So if they can just make their money back on it, right when it comes close to showtime, they will.
- 6:29Dayna Roselli: I did talk to my friends about the conversation we had last weekend.
- 6:32Dayna Roselli: Like, what's this whole, like, you know, Metallica at the sphere, like, you know, it's so expensive, it's not for the real fans.
- 6:38Dayna Roselli: They're like, no, if you're a fan, like they're trying something different, and they're like, and like we don't really go, yeah, it's expensive, but like we don't really think about it.
- 6:45Sean McAllister: Like, if you're a Metallica fan, you spend the money for it and you for the experience, and you go both nights.
- 6:50Dayna Roselli: Like, that's what they felt.
- 6:52Dayna Roselli: They're like, it is what it is, we're all here, you know, like, and it's incredible.
- 6:55Dayna Roselli: Yeah, um, and they took advantage of the free pop-up, and then I was telling them there was something um on display at Hard Rock Cafe, they were gonna go to that too.
- 7:02Dayna Roselli: There's a lot of different things going on, so so yeah, they loved it, um, which confirmed what we said last week.
- 7:08Dayna Roselli: Um, they also went to Wizard of Oz, and he did, and my friend Steve did say to me, you know what?
- 7:12Dayna Roselli: You should be so thankful the sphere is in your backyard.
- 7:16Dayna Roselli: And I thought, you're right.
- 7:18Sean McAllister: It's true.
- 7:19Dayna Roselli: He's like, This is the place is incredible.
- 7:21Dayna Roselli: That he thought it was so cool.
- 7:23Sean McAllister: We we took my aunt and cousin.
- 7:25Sean McAllister: I think we drove around the sphere, drove around the block about five times because they were like, Oh, can we see it one more time?
- 7:33Sean McAllister: Uh-huh.
- 7:34Sean McAllister: We're like, Yeah, why not?
- 7:36Sean McAllister: We're here.
- 7:36Sean McAllister: Why not?
- 7:37Sean McAllister: Do another spin around the block.
- 7:39Dayna Roselli: It's so cool.
- 7:40Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 7:40Dayna Roselli: But those are the things, again, we say it all the time.
- 7:43Dayna Roselli: We're spoiled.
- 7:44Sean McAllister: We are.
- 7:46Dayna Roselli: Even my friend the other day said, Oh, what did you do today?
- 7:48Dayna Roselli: I'm like, Well, I went to my friend's daughter's volleyball game, and then we went and watched the Texas game on the patio of a bar restaurant.
- 7:56Dayna Roselli: It was beautiful.
- 7:57Dayna Roselli: It was cloudy and warm on Saturday.
- 7:59Dayna Roselli: And it was, and I'm like, and like, gosh, there's so much so much to do there.
- 8:02Dayna Roselli: And like, and then I'm going, I went to the Italian restaurant last night, and then took my friend's daughters out to Cassie Beach Club.
- 8:08Dayna Roselli: Like, if we do have such a variety, you can do the normal stuff, and then and then you can do the elevated stuff.
- 8:15Sean McAllister: It's true.
- 8:15Dayna Roselli: So, what else did you do with the fam?
- 8:17Sean McAllister: So we uh went to the Smith Center and saw a show.
- 8:20Sean McAllister: Uh Oh Mary.
- 8:22Dayna Roselli: I've heard a lot about it.
- 8:23Sean McAllister: Was there absolutely hilarious?
- 8:26Sean McAllister: You need to um be prepared for some um uh blue comedy, I'll call it.
- 8:34Sean McAllister: But it is absolutely hilarious, so good.
- 8:37Sean McAllister: Um, I think next coming up, the next big touring show that they have coming through is Phantom of the Opera.
- 8:43Sean McAllister: And this is the 40th anniversary year of Phantom, so good time to go and see that.
- 8:47Sean McAllister: We went and ate at Peppermill.
- 8:49Dayna Roselli: Oh, fun.
- 8:50Sean McAllister: Uh, which I have not been to Pepper Mill in so long, but I was reminded uh, first of all, it was packed.
- 8:56Sean McAllister: It's always packed.
- 8:57Sean McAllister: It was so busy, and the portions there are huge.
- 9:01Sean McAllister: So even though you're getting like a $24 entree, it's like it's liter you could make it two or even three meals.
- 9:10Sean McAllister: It's a lot if you take some to go.
- 9:12Dayna Roselli: Salads are crazy.
- 9:13Dayna Roselli: They are the desserts.
- 9:14Dayna Roselli: And the desserts are huge.
- 9:16Dayna Roselli: They're huge.
- 9:20Sean McAllister: Uh, we went to the golden tiki.
- 9:21Sean McAllister: Uh-huh.
- 9:22Sean McAllister: Uh, we stopped in there to have a have a drink.
- 9:24Sean McAllister: They're all decked out for Halloween.
- 9:26Dayna Roselli: You know what?
- 9:27Dayna Roselli: Maybe okay.
- 9:28Dayna Roselli: I was just thinking, you know what?
- 9:29Dayna Roselli: We didn't plan on having that in today, but maybe we should put that in just on the fly.
- 9:33Sean McAllister: We could.
- 9:34Dayna Roselli: Patronia just did a story over there, and they're doing a lot of Halloween things.
- 9:37Sean McAllister: That is true.
- 9:38Dayna Roselli: So you finish your story, and then maybe we'll insert that.
- 9:41Sean McAllister: All right, perfect.
- 9:41Sean McAllister: We'll put a pin in Golden Tiki.
- 9:43Sean McAllister: Uh Bellaggio Fountain and Conservatory, obviously a uh a must.
- 9:48Sean McAllister: So that's kind of the the gist of our running around.
- 9:53Sean McAllister: And then they went out to Boulder City.
- 9:55Sean McAllister: They drove out to Red Rock, they went out to Lake Las Vegas, and this trip was so good that my aunt, before they were leaving town, she said, I'm sold, I'm moving here.
- 10:08Dayna Roselli: Confirmed, I heard her say it.
- 10:09Dayna Roselli: And I was like, Wow, but it's and this is from the East Coast, from upstate New York.
- 10:16Dayna Roselli: Yeah, why not?
- 10:17Dayna Roselli: It's an amazing place to live.
- 10:20Sean McAllister: And they they saw it, they felt it.
- 10:22Dayna Roselli: They tell you, I feel like because you took them some places and that also they stayed off the strip, like you get more of a vibe of the feel.
- 10:30Dayna Roselli: It's hard when you're on the strip in the middle of it all, you don't understand Las Vegas off the strip.
- 10:35Sean McAllister: Very true.
- 10:36Dayna Roselli: Um, so I think that probably gave them a good uh idea and and a feel.
- 10:40Dayna Roselli: You gotta get that feel.
- 10:41Dayna Roselli: And they went down to you said Boulder City, even right?
- 10:43Sean McAllister: Yeah, they went to Boulder City, they even went out to uh Arizona.
- 10:47Sean McAllister: They went down to Arizona to visit some friends who are uh building a house down there.
- 10:53Sean McAllister: So they saw some stuff.
- 10:56Speaker 5: Yeah, good, I love that.
- 10:58Speaker 5: That's great.
- 10:59Sean McAllister: Yeah, good.
- 11:00Speaker 5: Sounds like a good trip.
- 11:00Sean McAllister: So it was exciting, yeah.
- 11:02Sean McAllister: But yeah, Golden Tiki, all decked out for Halloween, the place to go for all of your tiki Polynesian, tropical uh everything.
- 11:14Dayna Roselli: It's incredible.
- 11:15Dayna Roselli: We walked in recently when we did the shoot, and we always say, Oh my gosh, I forget how cool.
- 11:20Dayna Roselli: It is one of the coolest places.
- 11:22Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 11:22Dayna Roselli: So Patrana went there for a beyond the strip segment.
- 11:25Dayna Roselli: Let's play that story so you can get the vibe.
- 11:28Dayna Roselli: She talked with the general manager.
- 11:35Patranya Bhoolsuwan: This has really become kind of an institution here in Chinatown.
- 11:38Patranya Bhoolsuwan: And I'm here with the general manager.
- 11:40Patranya Bhoolsuwan: His name is Nick Brink.
- 11:41Nick Brink: You know, we're really lucky in a town where so many bars after five years are looking to rebrand.
- 11:45Nick Brink: You know, we're just looking to add more wild stuff to the walls.
- 11:48Nick Brink: And Tiki is such a fun uh palette to paint from.
- 11:53Nick Brink: You know, the whole idea of escapism, if you can't get to paradise, we'll bring it to you.
- 11:57Nick Brink: And we're certainly trying to bring it to you here.
- 11:59Patranya Bhoolsuwan: And okay, so tell about some of the stuff because people come for the cocktails, and you're known for all your snacks, right?
- 12:04Patranya Bhoolsuwan: The poo-poos, the appetizers.
- 12:06Nick Brink: Yeah, we definitely have some really great offerings.
- 12:08Nick Brink: We have jersey rippers like fried hot dogs if you're looking for something more substantive.
- 12:12Nick Brink: We also have a lot of lighter bites.
- 12:13Nick Brink: You know, we have meatballs, this is a crab rangoon dip.
- 12:16Nick Brink: We do uh go chujang marinated cucumbers, just like if you're getting a bonchan.
- 12:20Nick Brink: We have curried cashews, just trying to have a lot of different items, so you don't necessarily need to feel like you have a full meal if you you can if you want, but you can also snack heavily.
- 12:30Patranya Bhoolsuwan: And you know, any good business, they lean into a good story, right?
- 12:33Patranya Bhoolsuwan: Well, this spooky reputation.
- 12:34Patranya Bhoolsuwan: Tell us about how that all started.
- 12:36Nick Brink: It really got into kind of people knowing about it when we got on Zak Bagans ghost adventures, and that primarily happened because the booth right next to us, the safe right there, okay, the safety glass on it uh basically exploded while a group of guests was sitting there.
- 12:51Nick Brink: We couldn't find an impetus, no one smashed anything down, it just blew up.
- 12:55Nick Brink: Uh we have videos of bottles flying off shelves, glasses breaking, you know.
- 12:59Nick Brink: Some guests have caught some spooky photos on their phones.
- 13:02Nick Brink: So uh yeah, we've definitely earned our reputation as being one of the more uh haunted venues in Las Vegas.
- 13:07Nick Brink: And you have a lot of fun, especially during Halloween.
- 13:10Nick Brink: You know, Halloween is one of our favorite holidays, of course.
- 13:13Nick Brink: The entire month of October, we deck the entire place out with spooky decor.
- 13:17Nick Brink: We actually do a ticketed event on Wednesday nights.
- 13:20Nick Brink: We have the amazing core vet singing some spooky songs, alongside legendary demonologist John Shaw, putting him on a haunted magic show.
- 13:28Nick Brink: Uh, and we just bring in some different performers, really try and theme out the month so you can have some spooky fun here in Chinatown.
- 13:34Patranya Bhoolsuwan: All right, so Nick, you have to tell me about the shrunken head?
- 13:37Patranya Bhoolsuwan: What is that?
- 13:38Nick Brink: Shrunken heads, we've got one uh right behind us here.
- 13:40Nick Brink: Vinny Paul was actually one of our first celebrity guests here, and it's such a unique thing to us.
- 13:46Nick Brink: We have such neat friends that we've made throughout the years, and our unique way of honoring them is we throw them a shrunken head ceremony.
- 13:52Nick Brink: We have this amazing sculptor that used to work for the Smithsonian.
- 13:56Nick Brink: We send him basically mugshots of the talent, and uh he sends back a lovely piece of art that represents them as a shrunken head.
- 14:03Nick Brink: It's a super fun thing that gets love here, and it's a great unique way for us to honor our friends and all the different people that have helped made this bar so cool over the years.
- 14:11Nick Brink: There's probably around 200 heads at this point.
- 14:13Nick Brink: You never know.
- 14:14Nick Brink: We had the Backstreet boys hit us up when they were gonna play the sphere, so we did an event with them.
- 14:18Nick Brink: We'd like to blow people's minds.
- 14:20Patranya Bhoolsuwan: So this place is definitely unique and such a fun spot.
- 14:23Patranya Bhoolsuwan: And Sean and Dayna, I don't know about you, but I think I'm gonna come back as at least for the food and the drinks, and maybe I'm gonna see something next time.
- 14:32Nick Brink: You never know what's gonna happen at the all-hours spectacle that is the world famous golden tea.
- 14:39Sean McAllister: So we did have a good time.
- 14:40Sean McAllister: We went around uh uh 1.30, 2 o'clock in the afternoon.
- 14:47Speaker 5: Oh, what it was busy.
- 14:49Speaker 5: Day drinking.
- 14:50Sean McAllister: Day drinking, and it was busy.
- 14:53Sean McAllister: Yeah, like the whole place was full.
- 14:55Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 14:56Sean McAllister: So it's fun.
- 14:57Sean McAllister: We we did not see any ghosts.
- 14:59Dayna Roselli: Okay, no ghosts, no ghosts this time.
- 15:01Dayna Roselli: But they might have followed you home.
- 15:03Sean McAllister: They could have.
- 15:05Dayna Roselli: Well, I went to an off-strip restaurant that again I was reminded of like, gosh, I haven't been here in forever.
- 15:11Dayna Roselli: And I'm talking about uh Nora's.
- 15:14Dayna Roselli: Oh yeah, because you know, I haven't been to the like I say new location, but it moved years and years ago, I think.
- 15:21Dayna Roselli: So I'm talking about Nora's Italian cuisine, longtime Las Vegas restaurant.
- 15:26Dayna Roselli: Um, it's I think kind of even near where it was before, but it's on West Flamingo, near Decatur, I guess you'd say.
- 15:33Dayna Roselli: Um anyway, my friends that were in town for Metallica, that's where they booked their Friday night dinner.
- 15:39Dayna Roselli: So they must have heard good things.
- 15:41Sean McAllister: It's such a great spot.
- 15:43Dayna Roselli: Because they were staying at the palazzo, so they decided to get an Uber.
- 15:47Dayna Roselli: So they were like, hey, meet us for dinner.
- 15:49Dayna Roselli: We already have a table, blah, blah, blah.
- 15:51Dayna Roselli: Sean, this parking lot was full to the brim.
- 15:55Dayna Roselli: They had to have extended parking across the thing.
- 15:58Dayna Roselli: What?
- 15:58Dayna Roselli: I walk in this, and it's a big restaurant.
- 16:01Dayna Roselli: First of all, it's awesome.
- 16:03Dayna Roselli: It's such a cool look.
- 16:04Dayna Roselli: And you want the whole thing, every person, even at this like bar where they were cooking, was like next to each other.
- 16:11Dayna Roselli: It was entirely full.
- 16:13Dayna Roselli: And this was 8:30 on a Friday night for dinner.
- 16:18Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh, that was a spot.
- 16:20Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 16:21Dayna Roselli: So this is it's a thing.
- 16:23Dayna Roselli: Sean, I had, I want to tell you, a bottle of red for the table was like 50 bucks, which is great, you know, decent wine.
- 16:33Dayna Roselli: Um and I had the chicken picata, which was incredible.
- 16:40Dayna Roselli: First of all, they're their menu, the dinner, dinner menu is very lengthy.
- 16:44Dayna Roselli: They've got everything pastas, desserts, appetizers, grilled appetizers, you know, soups, salads.
- 16:50Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, endless pasta choices.
- 16:52Dayna Roselli: But uh seafood pasta, they got the classic.
- 16:56Dayna Roselli: So I had the bacata chicken, 26 bucks.
- 16:59Dayna Roselli: You I got a pile of amazing chicken in this lemon caper sauce.
- 17:05Dayna Roselli: It was so flavorful.
- 17:06Dayna Roselli: Sitting on sauteed spinach, that was all that I needed.
- 17:10Dayna Roselli: And I was thinking, I really want to get protein.
- 17:12Dayna Roselli: Well, done.
- 17:13Sean McAllister: You got it.
- 17:14Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, it was amazing.
- 17:15Dayna Roselli: $26.
- 17:16Dayna Roselli: Jeez.
- 17:17Dayna Roselli: So everyone enjoyed their meals.
- 17:19Dayna Roselli: Everyone loved the oh, the lasagna was a hit.
- 17:22Dayna Roselli: Two people got the lasagna.
- 17:23Dayna Roselli: And anyway, we sit there and enjoy it.
- 17:25Dayna Roselli: Our waiter was great.
- 17:27Dayna Roselli: Um, but I was like, I have been missing out on Nora's.
- 17:30Dayna Roselli: So FYI, if you come into town, Nora'sQisine.com is where you'll find the menus and the website.
- 17:37Dayna Roselli: Check it out.
- 17:38Sean McAllister: Man, I it's been a long time since I've been over there.
- 17:41Sean McAllister: I need to make a note to get back.
- 17:43Dayna Roselli: It was great.
- 17:44Dayna Roselli: It was so good.
- 17:45Dayna Roselli: I really enjoyed it.
- 17:46Dayna Roselli: It felt like a family atmosphere, but also, I don't know, running into people you didn't know.
- 17:52Dayna Roselli: And it was and it was like an occasion.
- 17:55Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 17:55Dayna Roselli: It was fun.
- 17:56Dayna Roselli: I loved it.
- 17:57Sean McAllister: Well, and that's one of those spots too that has regulars.
- 18:00Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 18:00Sean McAllister: Like people go there on their uh that's their weekly dinner, their weekly night out.
- 18:06Sean McAllister: And so you do get that vibe of people who know each other.
- 18:11Sean McAllister: And then when you walk in, it's like you're part of the family too.
- 18:13Sean McAllister: Yay!
- 18:15Dayna Roselli: And then the you know, the weight, and like it's like I mean, it's like you have to have your reservation or else.
- 18:21Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's it's great.
- 18:22Dayna Roselli: There's definitely people that have that standing reservation over there.
- 18:25Dayna Roselli: But yeah, I hadn't been, it's huge, it's awesome.
- 18:27Dayna Roselli: So I really enjoyed that.
- 18:28Dayna Roselli: That was fun.
- 18:29Dayna Roselli: Um, but that's you know, and I think that's kinda it.
- 18:33Dayna Roselli: I think we went over everything.
- 18:34Dayna Roselli: That was a packed weekend for both of us.
- 18:36Sean McAllister: That was the out and about stuff that we've been doing.
- 18:38Sean McAllister: Man.
- 18:39Dayna Roselli: Um, something that just came down the wire today was uh another site proposal for an NBA franchise to move to Las Vegas.
- 18:48Dayna Roselli: That hasn't been completely confirmed yet, right?
- 18:51Sean McAllister: It has kinda it's like I know T.
- 18:55Sean McAllister: Pretty much happening.
- 18:58Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 18:58Dayna Roselli: So apparently um a New York-based real estate firm, Fisher Brothers, uh, has pitched a 50-acre site right next to Area 15's entertainment complex.
- 19:08Dayna Roselli: Um, so and you were saying, well, this is like the third spot, and I was like, Yeah, I keep hearing things, but until somebody tells me it's a done deal, I'm not invested, but I'm trying to be.
- 19:17Sean McAllister: Well, there's a bunch of different uh uh players who have thrown their their hats into the ring to try and land uh the deal, the arena deal for a proposed uh Vegas NBA team.
- 19:32Sean McAllister: Um we've seen plans for an arena that would be south on Las Vegas Boulevard, and I'm talking south of Mandalay Bay, like down past the Welcome to Las Vegas sign.
- 19:42Sean McAllister: So not immediately in the Las Vegas resort corridor.
- 19:47Sean McAllister: Um we've seen Bill Foley, who's the owner of the Vegas Golden Knights, throw his proposal into the ring where the NBA team would be playing at T Mobile Arena, so they wouldn't even have to build another arena, which could be I kind of like that.
- 20:02Sean McAllister: I mean let's bring more to the arena that's already here, right?
- 20:07Sean McAllister: Um I don't mind uh the idea of having an arena over by Area 15.
- 20:12Sean McAllister: There's a whole complex to you know uh entertain people as they're coming and going.
- 20:19Sean McAllister: The entertainment complex is built in.
- 20:21Sean McAllister: True.
- 20:21Sean McAllister: Um and then I think there's another uh site north on the strip that's been proposed.
- 20:27Sean McAllister: So we'll see what happens.
- 20:29Sean McAllister: I kind of have a feeling that T-Mobile is probably the front runner because they could just flip the switch and be ready to go tomorrow.
- 20:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 20:38Dayna Roselli: I mean, sometimes maybe they'll start there and then build.
- 20:41Dayna Roselli: It could be kind of like I don't know.
- 20:43Dayna Roselli: You know, it brings up the topic of, and maybe I shouldn't get into this, and maybe we can talk about it next week.
- 20:48Dayna Roselli: But you know, I was seeing that the the attendance for the Vegas Golden Knights is down for the first time in a long time.
- 20:53Dayna Roselli: Nobody knows what you can pinpoint that to.
- 20:56Dayna Roselli: It could be just things are expensive right now or whatever it might be.
- 20:59Dayna Roselli: But I did see someone say, like, are we getting too many professional teams now?
- 21:03Dayna Roselli: And it's like hard to you wanna be a part of all of it.
- 21:06Dayna Roselli: You want to cheer them on, you want to go to the live games, you want to be at a golden Raiders game, you want to be at a golden knights.
- 21:11Dayna Roselli: I mean, Golden Knights, I feel like, are the really like for the the hardcore locals and that's a lot of games.
- 21:18Sean McAllister: It's like a 42 game 42 uh home games.
- 21:23Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 21:24Sean McAllister: That's a lot.
- 21:24Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 21:25Dayna Roselli: But it's done well and filled the T-Mobile for a long time.
- 21:30Dayna Roselli: This is the first time they're really noticing that it wasn't full.
- 21:33Dayna Roselli: So I don't know.
- 21:34Dayna Roselli: So I don't, I don't know.
- 21:35Dayna Roselli: Is it too much?
- 21:36Dayna Roselli: But I mean big cities have multiple teams.
- 21:40Dayna Roselli: Maybe we aren't as big.
- 21:42Sean McAllister: Maybe we aren't huge.
- 21:44Dayna Roselli: We aren't a huge, huge city.
- 21:46Dayna Roselli: We have a lot of visitors, so you pile that on, and that probably doubles our or triple, I don't even know, our you know, percentage of people, amount of people that go to things.
- 21:55Sean McAllister: Right.
- 21:55Sean McAllister: Well, and we've talked about this with uh the Raiders games is that you know the Majority of fans who are inside of Allegiant Stadium on game day are for the opposing team.
- 22:05Sean McAllister: You know, it's a lot of people who travel to Las Vegas to watch their team play.
- 22:11Sean McAllister: Right.
- 22:11Sean McAllister: And I mean, ticket sales aside, having all of these uh major uh sports teams in Las Vegas is a giant commercial for Las Vegas anytime a game is being played.
- 22:25Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 22:25Sean McAllister: You know, there's shots of Las Vegas.
- 22:27Sean McAllister: They'll do little stories off the strip sometimes.
- 22:31Sean McAllister: You profile different things about the city.
- 22:34Sean McAllister: And I think that's really what having these teams boils down to is built-in advertising for Las Vegas as a destination.
- 22:44Dayna Roselli: Yeah, very true.
- 22:45Dayna Roselli: We just gotta make sure that those yeah, we can fill those arenas.
- 22:48Dayna Roselli: We haven't had a problem.
- 22:49Dayna Roselli: I mean, like, you know, we're also talking about like an attendance that was down for one day at the Vegas Golden Heights.
- 22:55Dayna Roselli: You know what I mean?
- 22:55Dayna Roselli: Like it was fifty around fifteen thousand instead of the normal seventeen.
- 22:59Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 23:00Dayna Roselli: Yeah, exactly.
- 23:00Sean McAllister: So pretty good.
- 23:01Sean McAllister: Although I have heard people, uh where was I the other day?
- 23:04Sean McAllister: People were talking about their uh season tickets and how they kind of joined forces with some friends to split the season.
- 23:15Sean McAllister: They got rid of their own season tickets, went in with their friends on their friend's batch of season tickets to split those.
- 23:21Sean McAllister: So that they're still going to games because there's so many.
- 23:24Sean McAllister: Because there's so many.
- 23:25Sean McAllister: And they were like, I just can't physically go to all of the games.
- 23:29Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:30Sean McAllister: I know.
- 23:30Sean McAllister: I don't want to like have tickets that potentially go unsold if I put them on the up on the resale market.
- 23:38Sean McAllister: So yeah, I think it'll be, and it could just be the um economic situation and some uncertainty right now.
- 23:47Sean McAllister: You know, the A's, their stadium that they're building there at the corner of Trop and Las Vegas Boulevard, it's not going to be the uh highest capacity baseball stadium in the MLB by a long shot.
- 24:00Sean McAllister: It's actually on the smaller side, uh which I think is fine.
- 24:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:05Sean McAllister: Build it smaller and fill it.
- 24:07Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I think so too.
- 24:08Dayna Roselli: You know, make it in demand.
- 24:11Sean McAllister: Absolutely.
- 24:12Dayna Roselli: It works, right?
- 24:12Sean McAllister: It sure does.
- 24:13Dayna Roselli: It's just like trying to get into the club.
- 24:16Dayna Roselli: And um uh couple other things going on, we just wanted to quickly mention.
- 24:22Dayna Roselli: Uh Earth, Wind, and Fire is back in town.
- 24:24Dayna Roselli: I know a lot of people love them.
- 24:25Dayna Roselli: I saw them last year over at the Venetian.
- 24:27Dayna Roselli: They are uh doing performances October 16th to the 31st.
- 24:32Dayna Roselli: And uh shows begin at 8:30.
- 24:35Dayna Roselli: If you're looking for an all-out good time, good show, great live music, they're awesome.
- 24:40Dayna Roselli: Um, and then John Mayer extended.
- 24:42Dayna Roselli: We mentioned in the uh beginning of the show, and I think it was even last week, we said April, but he's gonna extend.
- 24:49Dayna Roselli: We already knew it.
- 24:50Dayna Roselli: And then now he's got shows he announced, I think, May and June.
- 24:53Sean McAllister: Yeah, into the summer.
- 24:54Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and then who knows what else?
- 24:55Dayna Roselli: I'll probably add again.
- 24:56Dayna Roselli: But we thought, okay, a lot of people seem excited about this.
- 24:59Dayna Roselli: We have our producer friend in uh in Los Angeles that we work with on uh KCal.
- 25:04Dayna Roselli: He's been trying to get tickets and he got opening night.
- 25:07Dayna Roselli: He's so thrilled.
- 25:08Sean McAllister: He did.
- 25:08Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 25:09Sean McAllister: I know, and he's been a John Mayer fan for years.
- 25:13Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 25:13Sean McAllister: Seen John all over the place.
- 25:15Sean McAllister: I know.
- 25:16Dayna Roselli: So that's kind of cool.
- 25:17Dayna Roselli: Um, there's a dive bar that we wanted to mention.
- 25:20Dayna Roselli: We haven't talked about it, it's called the Hard Hat Lounge, and depends on when you're listening to the podcast because it drops on a Thursday, and this event, specific event, is uh on Friday, October 16th.
- 25:31Dayna Roselli: But they're doing a big uh block party from 8 p.m.
- 25:35Dayna Roselli: until late.
- 25:36Dayna Roselli: Um, it's basically a celebration of new life for one of the oldest bars in town.
- 25:42Dayna Roselli: Um, apparently it's been an annual tradition.
- 25:45Dayna Roselli: They love to kind of honor the community, keep everything alive.
- 25:50Dayna Roselli: It's a free bash.
- 25:51Dayna Roselli: You have to be 21 and over.
- 25:53Dayna Roselli: They have live music, food, raffles, and of course, lots of beverages.
- 25:58Dayna Roselli: But I actually have never been here.
- 26:00Dayna Roselli: It's one of the oldest operating dive bars in Las Vegas, and they have all sorts of specials and things going on.
- 26:07Dayna Roselli: It's open 24 hours.
- 26:09Sean McAllister: Well, and they call it the Hard Hat Lounge because they give special they give special deals to construction workers.
- 26:15Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 26:16Sean McAllister: All day, every day, construction workers get a dollar off their drinks.
- 26:20Dayna Roselli: Good.
- 26:20Dayna Roselli: They deserve it.
- 26:21Sean McAllister: They do, they've built Las Vegas, they should keep building it.
- 26:24Dayna Roselli: They've got to buy to two for the summertime.
- 26:25Sean McAllister: That's that's the truth.
- 26:27Sean McAllister: And I do hear that Hard Hat Lounge uh has one of the best burgers in Las Vegas.
- 26:35Sean McAllister: Well, I need to get over and try it because I am a burger lover.
- 26:39Dayna Roselli: Yes, and maybe it's happy hour is every single day from get this, two to five and then two to five a.m.
- 26:47Sean McAllister: Oh, so if you're a night owl or you're working the night shift.
- 26:50Dayna Roselli: That's why they cater to all the shifts.
- 26:52Dayna Roselli: That's what their big thing is.
- 26:53Dayna Roselli: They have industry nights on Mondays with a live jazz band and 10% off bar tabs for all Vegas industry, karaoke Wednesdays from 10 p.m.
- 27:02Dayna Roselli: to 2 a.m.
- 27:02Dayna Roselli: And then, like you said, all day every day, dollar off drinks for construction workers.
- 27:06Dayna Roselli: Um, it's 24-hour gaming.
- 27:08Dayna Roselli: It's located at 1675 South Industrial Road in Las Vegas.
- 27:12Dayna Roselli: If you want to go check out the Hard Hat Lounge, sounds like they're uh having a great party on Friday, October 16th, but you can go anytime.
- 27:21Sean McAllister: Yeah, that's a good spot.
- 27:23Sean McAllister: Another place we wanted to let you know about is in downtown Las Vegas at the El Cortez.
- 27:29Sean McAllister: This is a historic hotel casino dating back to 1941, and it's really undergone a property-wide refresh.
- 27:40Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 27:40Dayna Roselli: And, you know, this restaurant is named after Bugsy Siegel, you know, the notorious mobster.
- 27:46Dayna Roselli: Um, and it's interesting because El Cortez is celebrating 85 years on November 7th.
- 27:53Dayna Roselli: So they've been trying to get this up and running, and it's now open.
- 27:56Dayna Roselli: It actually is um open daily 7 a.m.
- 27:59Dayna Roselli: to 2:30, and it's seagulls1941 LV.com for reservations, but they take walk-ins as well.
- 28:06Dayna Roselli: They have a breakfast and lunch menu.
- 28:08Dayna Roselli: Um, even that was funny, the press release said the martini lunch is back in downtown Las Vegas.
- 28:13Dayna Roselli: Um, because that's kind of the, you know what I mean?
- 28:16Dayna Roselli: The vibe.
- 28:17Sean McAllister: Yes, because there's like all the all the political stuff, the laws of people who work downtown, like the power lunch.
- 28:24Dayna Roselli: Yes, the power lunch, the vintage Vegas kind of glam breakfast lunch deal.
- 28:29Dayna Roselli: Get a martini, why not?
- 28:31Dayna Roselli: It's 10 a.m.
- 28:32Dayna Roselli: Who cares?
- 28:33Dayna Roselli: Um, but yeah, excited to see that open.
- 28:35Dayna Roselli: They've been making a lot of changes.
- 28:36Dayna Roselli: We've done many stories on all the things coming there.
- 28:38Dayna Roselli: So um, if you haven't been over to the El Cortez recently, um, you might want to go check it out.
- 28:44Dayna Roselli: New things are opening, they've really refreshed it.
- 28:47Dayna Roselli: And uh they had said it was opening in the early fall, and now we know it is officially open.
- 28:52Sean McAllister: Yeah, it is a good vibe over there.
- 28:54Sean McAllister: It was there not too long ago, and um, they've done a great job over there.
- 28:58Sean McAllister: Hey, let's get to some celebrity news with a Vegas twist.
- 29:05Dayna Roselli: Sean, I feel like the the video of the weekend was uh Donnie Osman showing up on stage with Donnie Wahlberg uh from New Kids on the Block at their residency.
- 29:16Dayna Roselli: I was like, the two Donnies.
- 29:17Sean McAllister: The Donnies doing their thing.
- 29:19Dayna Roselli: That was cute.
- 29:20Sean McAllister: That was what a surprise.
- 29:21Sean McAllister: I know, what a surprise to have Donnie Osman with NKO TV.
- 29:27Dayna Roselli: Two of our faves.
- 29:28Dayna Roselli: Listen, we went over to interview Donnie.
- 29:29Dayna Roselli: We had told you about that at the Harris Showroom.
- 29:32Dayna Roselli: He has extended his show, um, and we are excited that he is going is doing that because we love his show.
- 29:39Dayna Roselli: We've both been and had so much fun.
- 29:41Dayna Roselli: I know you have a long history interviewing Donnie uh in town.
- 29:44Dayna Roselli: I I do too, but you guys have your little you know relationship through the years.
- 29:49Dayna Roselli: Um, and it was fun to talk to him about kind of everything he's been up to.
- 29:54Sean McAllister: Yeah, not only how he keeps his show fresh, it's always, he's always adding new numbers, new visuals into the show.
- 30:02Sean McAllister: We talked about that.
- 30:03Sean McAllister: Also his decades, over 60 years in entertainment and all the icons he's uh performed with and been friends with over the years and how they have helped shape the entertainer he is today.
- 30:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean, it's something where you'll want to go to our YouTube and watch the interview.
- 30:22Dayna Roselli: There's some really cool um collector's cases out in front in the lobby of the showroom, or go see them in person, um, with all memorabilia of Donnie's life, and it was really cool.
- 30:32Dayna Roselli: And Sean, you had the chance to kind of look over some of that and go through it with him.
- 30:37Dayna Roselli: So um, let's play the interview and then we can talk a little more.
- 30:41Sean McAllister: What is it that it keeps you going, that keeps the interest there for not only this show, but Vegas?
- 30:46Donny Osmond: The energy that I get from all these people.
- 30:49Donny Osmond: You know, when you walk on stage and that that initial rush and that energy that comes from the crowd, that's that's hard to beat.
- 30:57Donny Osmond: That's the magic of show business.
- 30:59Donny Osmond: And then the lighting and the sound and the dancing and the costumes, that's that's show business.
- 31:05Donny Osmond: That's been my life since I was five years old.
- 31:07Sean McAllister: Well, and I know that you are the type of person who is always changing the show, evolving it, adding new things, working on new elements.
- 31:16Donny Osmond: Wait till you see the next edition.
- 31:18Donny Osmond: Okay.
- 31:18Donny Osmond: Okay.
- 31:19Donny Osmond: Back in the early 70s, I did a song with my brothers called Crazy Horses.
- 31:23Donny Osmond: Uh Ozzie Osborne told me it was one of his favorite rock and roll songs of all time.
- 31:26Donny Osmond: So I thought, why don't we close the show with that?
- 31:29Donny Osmond: So what I'm creating with AI, what you're going to see on that screen, on these three screens, will blow you away.
- 31:36Donny Osmond: Totally blow you away.
- 31:37Donny Osmond: I'm ready to be blown away.
- 31:38Donny Osmond: The horses are actually dancing.
- 31:42Donny Osmond: What?
- 31:43Donny Osmond: I actually bought a horse head from a mask from Amazon.
- 31:47Donny Osmond: And last night after dinner, I'm coming up with these dance steps in front of the camera.
- 31:52Donny Osmond: When you see it and you see these horses, they're going crazy.
- 31:55Donny Osmond: That's actually me.
- 31:57Donny Osmond: I'm an animal.
- 31:58Donny Osmond: You are an animal, Donnie.
- 32:01Sean McAllister: You are.
- 32:01Sean McAllister: You've been very fortunate to work with some of the great entertainers of all time.
- 32:15Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 32:15Sean McAllister: Are there like key moments from your interactions over the years that really have shaped who you are?
- 32:23Donny Osmond: How to treat an audience, how to handle yourself on stage, how to have that rapport.
- 32:29Donny Osmond: I learned that standing next to Andy Williams or you know, Sinatra and working on with all these legends here in Vegas, on these stages.
- 32:37Donny Osmond: This is where my training ground was in Vegas.
- 32:40Donny Osmond: And how you walk.
- 32:41Donny Osmond: Give me the microphone.
- 32:42Donny Osmond: Okay.
- 32:43Donny Osmond: Okay?
- 32:43Donny Osmond: And there's a way to walk on stage.
- 32:45Donny Osmond: You don't walk on stage like this, okay?
- 32:47Donny Osmond: You walk on stage with style.
- 32:50Donny Osmond: And you know, the body language on stage, how you hold your microphone.
- 32:54Donny Osmond: It it gets down to that.
- 32:55Donny Osmond: It's the little minutiae uh of of all how of how you act on stage, how you talk to people.
- 33:02Sean McAllister: Well, so now I've realized not only do I need to keep working on the dancing, but I need to work on an entrance walk.
- 33:08Donny Osmond: Well, you gotta hold your mic a little bit better than that, you know.
- 33:12Sean McAllister: With some swagger.
- 33:22Donny Osmond: And above all, have fun.
- 33:25Donny Osmond: When you get on stage, you know, you can't just do a show and say, I hope you enjoy.
- 33:30Donny Osmond: No, I hope you're enjoying this, you know.
- 33:32Donny Osmond: You better be enjoying yourself.
- 33:34Donny Osmond: And I do every night.
- 33:36Donny Osmond: It's a journey that I love going on every night.
- 33:39Donny Osmond: So good to see you again.
- 33:40Donny Osmond: Good to see you, bud.
- 33:41Donny Osmond: Yeah, work on that swagger.
- 33:42Donny Osmond: Okay.
- 33:43Sean McAllister: All right.
- 33:43Dayna Roselli: So I really didn't get the horse thing at first, but now I get it.
- 33:46Dayna Roselli: So, in order to create the visual on this, because I haven't seen the current show, he had to buy a horse head from Amazon to kind of multiply it.
- 33:58Sean McAllister: Yeah, so he used AI to create the visual that's up on the screens, but AI wouldn't allow his face to be used because he's a popular personality.
- 34:10Sean McAllister: Right.
- 34:11Sean McAllister: So he had to put a horse head on, cover up his face, and then dance around.
- 34:14Sean McAllister: I love it.
- 34:15Sean McAllister: So now there's dancing horses up there on Donnie's show.
- 34:19Sean McAllister: What a great guy! So much energy, such personality, and his show really is one that you should not miss.
- 34:28Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 34:28Dayna Roselli: It's Vegas to a T.
- 34:30Dayna Roselli: It is, and he's got some energy, and he looks amazing, and he's just a great guy.
- 34:34Dayna Roselli: He knows what he's doing.
- 34:35Dayna Roselli: Uh, he was a lot of fun.
- 34:37Dayna Roselli: Uh, we are going to see a new show at MGM Grand called Now You See Me Live.
- 34:42Dayna Roselli: We're going this weekend, and there's a red carpet and stuff, so we'll tell you more about that.
- 34:46Dayna Roselli: But that sounds like a really grand show.
- 34:50Dayna Roselli: Perfect spot, MGM Grand, um, with lots of illusions and stuff.
- 34:54Dayna Roselli: I I don't know the show that it's based off.
- 34:57Sean McAllister: It's based off it's based off the Now You See Me movie franchise.
- 35:01Sean McAllister: Right.
- 35:01Sean McAllister: There's, gosh, I think at least three films in that franchise.
- 35:06Sean McAllister: I just saw uh well, number three, I just saw on my Netflix as I was scrolling the other day.
- 35:11Sean McAllister: Um, so Now You See Me has been turned into a grand illusion stage show.
- 35:19Sean McAllister: This is happening inside the old uh David Copperfield theater.
- 35:23Sean McAllister: They've refitted the entire place, uh, outfitted it for this brand new show, and it'll be exciting to see uh what the worlds of cinema and illusion can create when you put them on a Vegas stage.
- 35:38Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 35:38Dayna Roselli: I mean it sounds great.
- 35:41Dayna Roselli: I'm excited.
- 35:41Dayna Roselli: I love big grand illusions.
- 35:43Dayna Roselli: Yes, that's kind of my thing.
- 35:44Dayna Roselli: I like that a lot.
- 35:45Dayna Roselli: I have uh trouble following I love, I think it's amazing the up-close card magic, but I have trouble following that in a showroom.
- 35:54Dayna Roselli: So I like the big grand.
- 35:55Dayna Roselli: I need to just spell it out for me.
- 35:57Dayna Roselli: It needs to happen right in front of my eyes.
- 35:58Sean McAllister: So now you see me is kind of based on this group of magicians who use illusion to pull off heists.
- 36:07Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 36:07Dayna Roselli: Oh, is this the is it Jesse Eisenberg?
- 36:09Dayna Roselli: Yes.

- 36:50Sean McAllister: It's a huge game.
- 36:50Sean McAllister: Ahead of this big matchup.
- 36:52Sean McAllister: So we're looking forward to that.
- 36:54Dayna Roselli: I know, and lots of different things happening all around town.
- 36:56Dayna Roselli: We talked about that recently.
- 36:57Dayna Roselli: Um, then you and I are going to see Carrot Top at Luxor.

- 37:04Dayna Roselli: He has planned to return to the stage at the Luxor Monday, October 19th.
- 37:09Dayna Roselli: Sean and I got online real quick and bought tickets to show support.
- 37:12Dayna Roselli: So as long as that still goes on, next week we'll be able to talk a little bit about that.
- 37:17Dayna Roselli: Um, I think next week we'll be able to, or the week after, but um we look forward to to seeing Caratop out there again, one of the funniest comedians and longtime comedians here in Las Vegas.
- 37:28Sean McAllister: Uh, we're also going over to get a sneak preview inside of category 10.
- 37:34Sean McAllister: This is Luke Combs' new honky tonk over at Flamingo.
- 37:39Sean McAllister: This is in the space where Margaritaville used to be.
- 37:41Sean McAllister: It's huge.
- 37:43Sean McAllister: Huge three levels, rooftop.
- 37:46Sean McAllister: Uh so much hacked inside this place.
- 37:49Sean McAllister: It'll be cool to see um what Luke and his team have have done to turn this into the latest honky tonk on the strip.
- 37:57Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 37:57Dayna Roselli: And now this podcast drops Thursday.
- 37:58Dayna Roselli: Sean and I are actually um recording this on a Monday.
- 38:01Dayna Roselli: So we've already gone to that.
- 38:03Dayna Roselli: But and just so you know, category 10 is open because it's open on the 15th.
- 38:06Dayna Roselli: So that's official.
- 38:08Dayna Roselli: Um, but when we were reading about it, um, just because we I haven't seen it yet, there's a walk-up, what is it, hurricane bar?
- 38:14Sean McAllister: The walk-up hurricane bar.
- 38:16Dayna Roselli: Okay, and you can order and take it with you, or you can order and have it there.
- 38:20Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 38:20Dayna Roselli: Okay, I like that.
- 38:21Dayna Roselli: That's smart.
- 38:22Sean McAllister: I mean, and especially right there, the foot traffic at the corner of well, it's directly across the street from Caesar's Palace.
- 38:30Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 38:30Sean McAllister: Right at the entrance to the Link Promenade, there is a ton of foot traffic coming in and out of there all day, every day.
- 38:39Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 38:39Sean McAllister: It's that place is gonna be bumping.
- 38:41Sean McAllister: When you get the live music flowing out of those doors and windows, you see when you're walking by and you look up and you see people having fun, you you want to go inside.
- 38:53Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you have the FOMO, right?
- 38:54Sean McAllister: You do.
- 38:55Dayna Roselli: Good stuff.
- 38:56Dayna Roselli: Um, hey, just another quick little reminder before we leave.
- 38:59Dayna Roselli: Um, you know, it is getting to Formula One race time, and there's a lot of construction happening.
- 39:05Dayna Roselli: I realized that last night as I dropped the girls off at the airport late.
- 39:08Dayna Roselli: They had an 11:30 flight.
- 39:10Dayna Roselli: So around 10, and I noticed that's when all that kind of stuff kicks in for the overnight work.
- 39:15Dayna Roselli: A lot of delays, a lot of backups.
- 39:17Dayna Roselli: Check your maps.
- 39:18Dayna Roselli: You'll see where it's red and closed, and and you'll see where it's you know, slower traffic, and you might need to go around uh because once you're in, man, you're in and you don't want to get stuck.
- 39:28Sean McAllister: No, you don't.
- 39:29Sean McAllister: So um there are alerts that you can sign up for if you're driving around there.
- 39:35Sean McAllister: If you're just uh planning a visit, you don't really need to do that.
- 39:39Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 39:39Dayna Roselli: But I mean you can look online at all times, but um, yeah, keep it in mind.
- 39:43Dayna Roselli: It was pretty busy at uh exiting the airport to Tropicana, and then I specifically didn't go to the cosmopolitan, or excuse me, Aria down the boulevard when I went to pick them up from Aria because they are starting that flamingo bridge work overnight.
- 40:00Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 40:00Dayna Roselli: So that'll be a big all right, whew.
