Sean Grayson, the former deputy convicted of murdering Sonya Massey, has died in prison from Stage Four colon cancer. Massey, a 36-year-old Black woman, was fatally shot by Grayson during a 911 call she made fearing an intruder — a confrontation that spiraled violently after Grayson threatened her and fired three shots. Bodycam footage showed his partner only drawing his weapon because of Grayson’s aggression.
