- 0:11Hi, I'm Jennifer.
- 0:12And I'm Cam.
- 0:13And you're listening to Coffee In The Park with Jennifer and Cam.
- 0:16So, welcome everybody.
- 0:18Good morning.
- 0:19And welcome to Coffee In The Park with Jennifer and Cam.
- 0:22And Jennifer, this is a special edition Coffee In The Park, because it's our?
- 0:29Our summertime edition.
- 0:30Summertime edition.
- 0:31Well, actually, it's nearing the end of summertime edition.
- 0:33I know, hard to believe, eh?
- 0:35Like, what's today?
- 0:36Today is like the 18th of August.
- 0:38Can you believe it?
- 0:39I know.
- 0:41How come when you're a kid, summer goes on forever?
- 0:45When you're an adult, it ends like right now.
- 0:47I think it has a lot to do with the weather, which we'll get into as we talk on this podcast.
- 0:51So, like I said, this is our special edition.
- 0:54The guests today are Jennifer and Cam.
- 0:57That's right.
- 0:57And we are coming to you live at The Wall Coffee Roasters in the heart of beautiful downtown Acheson.
- 1:03So if you hear some noises in the background, coffee machines whirring, people talking, kids.
- 1:09There are some babies in here today.
- 1:11Yeah.
- 1:11There's babies here today. There are.
- 1:13That's kind of cool.
- 1:14So yeah, if you hear those noises in the background, it's because once again, we are live at The Wall Coffee Roasters.
- 1:20That's right.
- 1:21And we want to tell everybody that Coffee In The Park with Jennifer and Cam is brought to you by Wing Snob Canada.
- 1:28That's right.
- 1:29Where they're fresh, never frozen.
- 1:32That's right.
- 1:33Sixteen flavors, four rubs, amazing wings.
- 1:35If you've never been to a Wing Snob, you got to check it out because they really are good wings.
- 1:39And there's 10 locations.
- 1:41Eight in Edmonton, one in Grande Prairie, one in Calgary.
- 1:44And they have great wings, great cornbread, great fries, all that kind of stuff.
- 1:50And if you've, you know, sometimes you just get tired of like hamburgers or, you know, you just need a good chicken wing.
- 1:56Yeah.
- 1:57So Wing Snob.
- 1:58Check it out at wingsnob.ca.
- 2:01Yeah.
- 2:01Yeah.
- 2:02Good wings.
- 2:02You know, Cam, I thought about going to Wing Snob in Calgary as I was passing through on the weekend.
- 2:08Yeah.
- 2:08But it was too far out of the way.
- 2:10On the ring road.
- 2:11I didn't want to venture in.
- 2:13So Mike Chadi, if you could build a Wing Snob closer to the ring road, Jennifer would appreciate that.
- 2:20I would.
- 2:20Yeah.
- 2:21Anyway.
- 2:22Hey, this is our summer special edition today.
- 2:26And we're going to talk about all the things that have happened over the summer.
- 2:31You know what?
- 2:31There's been a lot.
- 2:33This has not been a good summer.
- 2:35It's terrible.
- 2:36Yeah.
- 2:36It's been a very rainy, wet summer and a lot of people have felt the effects of this.
- 2:42I was driving by the other day, the corn maze.
- 2:45Yes, our friends at the corn maze.
- 2:47Yes, we've had them on the podcast.
- 2:49Dan and Jesse, yes.
- 2:50That's right.
- 2:50And the corn isn't as high.
- 2:54But you know what?
- 2:55I'm so happy that the corn maze is open because it could have ended in disaster.
- 2:59Yes, true enough.
- 3:00Because with our weather we've had this year, they got hail.
- 3:05Yeah.
- 3:06So as you're driving by, this was kind of interesting because corn is normally really high.
- 3:10Really tall.
- 3:11People get lost in the corn maze.
- 3:12You could see heads as you looked out over the corn maze.
- 3:16You could see heads popping up all over the place.
- 3:18It was kind of funny, actually.
- 3:19But that's my kind of corn maze where I can see over it so I know where to get out.
- 3:22That's right.
- 3:23You don't feel like claustrophobic.
- 3:24I'll never get out.
- 3:26You could see over it.
- 3:27So yeah, it's been that kind of summer, and everybody's talking about the rain.
- 3:32Well, actually, where we are in northern Alberta or north Alberta, we had a lot of rain.
- 3:37Southern Alberta has been very dry.
- 3:38It's extremely dry.
- 3:40When I was down in Canmore this weekend, it was very, very dry and hot.
- 3:45It's not like the whole province has been wet.
- 3:48No, and I think quite far north, like Fort McMurray area has also been quite hot and dry.
- 3:53So we're just kind of stuck, been stuck in this rain pocket, which unfortunately hasn't really made it feel like summer.
- 4:00It doesn't feel like summer.
- 4:02It has not felt like summer at all.
- 4:04And though I know our listeners are used to us talking about the weather.
- 4:09Yes.
- 4:10I think the farmer's almanac was wrong.
- 4:12I don't think they said it was going to be a hot, dry summer.
- 4:16Right.
- 4:17Maybe we just weren't included in that section of the farmer's almanac.
- 4:21My understanding is this was the last farmer's almanac.
- 4:24They're not printing another one.
- 4:25This is what you told me.
- 4:25This is what I heard.
- 4:26So they went out wrong.
- 4:29But maybe, I don't know, if they are going to do another one.
- 4:31Listen, if you are the writers of the farmer's almanac, let us know.
- 4:34Is there another edition coming?
- 4:36What I want to know is are they right about winter?
- 4:38Because I think I read it's going to be a harsh winter.
- 4:41Don't say that.
- 4:43But I saw a picture the other day where the leaves are already starting to turn.
- 4:47Okay, so looking out my front window this morning, leaves from my tree are already falling to the ground.
- 4:53Are they really?
- 4:54Yes.
- 4:55See, it's only August 18th.
- 4:56I know, but I didn't know.
- 4:58I'm going to chalk that up.
- 5:00I'm the eternal optimist, or not.
- 5:03Too much rain.
- 5:04Too much rain.
- 5:05It's too wet.
- 5:05You mean the leaves are falling because it's too wet?
- 5:07Yeah.
- 5:08Okay.
- 5:09I don't know.
- 5:09No, maybe check that out.
- 5:11But you could be right.
- 5:12I don't know.
- 5:12You could be right.
- 5:13Either that or...
- 5:14But no, there are pictures.
- 5:15And my daughter told me, looking out her patio window in her condo there, the leaves on the tree right out in front of her condo are turning yellow already.
- 5:24I know.
- 5:25Like it's too early.
- 5:26It is way too early.
- 5:28When I was a kid, I'm pretty sure the leaves didn't start turning till December.
- 5:32Well, no, not really.
- 5:34But it's like October for sure, or September.
- 5:36It was unseasonably rainy.
- 5:39Yeah.
- 5:39I think this is the wettest it's been on record.
- 5:41You know what I've noticed?
- 5:42Because we're coming to you from beautiful downtown Acheson.
- 5:45Yes.
- 5:45Beautiful downtown Acheson normally is overrun by gophers.
- 5:50I think they were drowned out this year.
- 5:52I know.
- 5:53There has not been that many gophers.
- 5:55There has not.
- 5:55I don't know where they...
- 5:57And okay, I shouldn't say this.
- 5:59I'll get...
- 6:00Somebody won't like it.
- 6:01But in the past, there have been a few gophers on the road that didn't make it.
- 6:06No.
- 6:06Didn't make it.
- 6:07It's a dangerous spot, the semis.
- 6:08If you're crossing the road.
- 6:09Because Acheson's an industrial park.
- 6:11Well, we don't have any crosswalks, Cam, so they don't know where to go.
- 6:14They don't press the button for the gopher.
- 6:16No, they should.
- 6:17Normally, during the summer, there are a few gophers on the road.
- 6:21This year, I think I've only seen one.
- 6:23I know.
- 6:23If that.
- 6:24Like, it's been a very strange...
- 6:27And people are all over the world.
- 6:28It's been very strange like this.
- 6:30It's not just Alberta.
- 6:31No, you're right.
- 6:31It's been very strange.
- 6:32It has been.
- 6:33Things happening in different countries and continents and all that kind of stuff.
- 6:38And I don't know.
- 6:39I don't know if it's global warming or global colding or global...
- 6:42As you call it, global winding one day.
- 6:44Global winding, global raining, global...
- 6:46I don't know what it is.
- 6:47It's a little depressing.
- 6:49It is a little depressing.
- 6:50And now as we're heading into fall, and I like fall, fall is a nice time of year, but it just means winter is coming and that doesn't make me excited.
- 6:57Really.
- 6:58No.
- 6:59Not even a little bit.
- 6:59I'm not happy about it.
- 7:01But anyway.
- 7:02Well, hey, listen, did you hear that a bear escaped from the Calgary Zoo?
- 7:09I was just going to tell you this.
- 7:11So a bear, a grizzly.
- 7:12I was so excited to read the story.
- 7:14I don't know why.
- 7:15Excited to read the story about the bear escaping.
- 7:18Listen, if you're from the Calgary Zoo, come on the pod and tell us about the escape. It's a nice zoo.
- 7:24We'd like to know, the bear escaped.
- 7:25I know.
- 7:26So he was a one-year-old grizzly.
- 7:28He, yeah.
- 7:29So there's two one-year-old grizzly bears.
- 7:31They're siblings.
- 7:33Their mother was killed.
- 7:34Are they twins?
- 7:35Well, I don't know, but their mother was killed in self-defense.
- 7:39So they were alone.
- 7:41Oh, I didn't know this part of the story.
- 7:42And so they were...
- 7:43They took the bears in?
- 7:44They took the bears in at the zoo.
- 7:45Oh, at the zoo.
- 7:47Okay.
- 7:48Yeah.
- 7:49I think the one that escaped, I think his name was Fritz.
- 7:51Yes, his name was Fritz.
- 7:53Fritz the bear escaped from the zoo.
- 7:56He crawled over the fence apparently.
- 7:59Or the enclosure.
- 8:00Well, they went to check on him.
- 8:01I guess they do daily checks to see where everybody is.
- 8:04And he was gone.
- 8:05Fritz wasn't there.
- 8:06I'd panic a little bit if I was in charge.
- 8:08Listen, if I was the bear zookeeper, and I'm counting bears, and there's supposed to be like three bears, and there's like one, two, and you can't find Fritz.
- 8:18No.
- 8:18And then Fritz got out.
- 8:19It was an all out emergency.
- 8:21Apparently it was.
- 8:22They called in the emergency, the Calgary emergency response.
- 8:27Sorry.
- 8:27I'm sorry.
- 8:29The SWAT guys are coming to get the bear.
- 8:33I could just see, that'd be hilarious.
- 8:35And they called the animal control people, or whatever they are, the wildlife people.
- 8:40But it sounds like the zoo handled it well themselves.
- 8:43This is what I hear.
- 8:43Yes.
- 8:44They have protocols in place for this.
- 8:46As soon as they said they brought in the emergency response people, otherwise known in my day and age as SWAT, I could just see them like surrounding the bear.
- 8:57Come out with your hands up.
- 8:59It's like, what is the bear doing?
- 9:02You know what he was doing?
- 9:03He was sitting there eating dandelions on the other side of his enclosure.
- 9:07He was free.
- 9:08He was no longer in his enclosure.
- 9:11He could roam.
- 9:12But he didn't roam far from the sounds of it.
- 9:14Well, I didn't know this about his sibling.
- 9:17Yes.
- 9:17I didn't know that.
- 9:18That's his sibling in there.
- 9:19So he probably didn't want to go too far.
- 9:21He's looking through the fence again.
- 9:24Why aren't you like coming with me?
- 9:26Follow me.
- 9:27I'm free.
- 9:28But here's my question.
- 9:29Yeah.
- 9:29He's done it once.
- 9:30He'll do it again.
- 9:32I'm sure they have to fix the hole.
- 9:33You're going to have to shore up that exhibit.
- 9:34Yeah.
- 9:35It's fixed the hole.
- 9:36It wasn't even a hole.
- 9:38I think he just like, he just figured it out.
- 9:40Yeah.
- 9:40And like, isn't that a little bit scary?
- 9:43Once a bear has found freedom, an enclosed bear, an encaged bear.
- 9:48A grizzly bear.
- 9:48Yeah.
- 9:48Wouldn't he just, and he was a grizzly.
- 9:51Yeah.
- 9:51He's a grizzly.
- 9:51He wasn't just like a bear bear.
- 9:53He was a grizzly bear.
- 9:54No.
- 9:55And you could imagine, it's a good thing.
- 9:57I think it was early in the morning.
- 9:59It was before the zoo opened.
- 10:00Yeah. Sorry.
- 10:02We shouldn't even be laughing about this, but that would not have been good.
- 10:05No.
- 10:06You pay your $22.50 to get in.
- 10:08There he is.
- 10:09And there you are confronted with a grizzly at nine o'clock in the morning, who's been eating the dandelions.
- 10:15This is why the zoo has their checks and balances in place before the zoo opens.
- 10:19Anyway, the good news is they saw the bear, Fritz.
- 10:22They tranquilized Fritz.
- 10:24They gently carried Fritz back into his enclosure.
- 10:28But you can't put them on a leash and say, come on back.
- 10:31You can't just drag Fritz.
- 10:32So yeah, and so he's okay now.
- 10:34But that was a fascinating story.
- 10:36I know.
- 10:37I've never, I want to know, is that the first time that's ever happened?
- 10:41Not with a bear, at any zoo.
- 10:43Well, maybe.
- 10:44Yeah, I don't know.
- 10:45I'm sure it's the first time it happened at the Calgary Zoo.
- 10:47The Edmonton Zoo, we don't have, I don't think we have a bear.
- 10:50There's no bears.
- 10:51No, no, we have an elephant.
- 10:55We're laughing because he's been around for a while, she, that elephant, Lucy, Lucy, Lucy's been around.
- 11:02Anyways, I'm glad Fritz is OK.
- 11:04I'm glad he's back with his sibling.
- 11:06I know.
- 11:06But this, here's the thing, OK, if a mama bear gives birth to like, say, two bears, they're usually at the same time.
- 11:15Are they twin bears?
- 11:17In a human, when you give birth, you're right at the same time.
- 11:19This is a good, we have to, we need a biologist on.
- 11:22Yeah, we do.
- 11:23Don't we have a biologist coming on?
- 11:25We have an invertebrate zoologist next week.
- 11:29He might know.
- 11:31Well, he's invertebrate, so it's not his department.
- 11:33Anyway, so that was kind of interesting about Fritz and one of the happenings and the goings on here in the province of Alberta.
- 11:41It is a good zoo, though.
- 11:42Oh, it's Calgary Zoo.
- 11:43Calgary Zoo is great.
- 11:44Can I tell you my Calgary Zoo?
- 11:45Sure.
- 11:45I went many years ago to the Calgary Zoo.
- 11:47They have a gorilla.
- 11:49They do.
- 11:49Yes, they do.
- 11:50And it's in this enclosure, and it's a huge glass.
- 11:54And you look at the gorilla.
- 11:56And so I was with a bunch of people, and I was being a bit goofy, and I pressed my face right up to the glass, and all of a sudden the gorilla came charging to the glass and bang! Hit the glass.
- 12:08You're not supposed to make eye contact with the gorilla.
- 12:09Well, it scared everybody and me, too.
- 12:12I mean, it was unbelievable.
- 12:13He went crazy, that gorilla.
- 12:14I didn't know that about the eye contact.
- 12:17I didn't know you weren't supposed to do that.
- 12:18Dominance.
- 12:19Yeah.
- 12:20You know, truthfully, it was one of my...
- 12:22I've been to Africa a couple of times, Uganda.
- 12:24And Uganda is famous for its gorillas.
- 12:27And I wish now I had gone on the gorilla trek in Africa.
- 12:31Because you get to go sit with the gorillas in the jungle.
- 12:34So in Africa, remember there was all like the gorilla poaching and it was like a big thing?
- 12:41Yes.
- 12:41Was that?
- 12:42Yes.
- 12:42That's why in Uganda, they started these sanctuaries for the gorillas.
- 12:48And you weren't, because people were poaching them.
- 12:49Yeah, I watched that movie.
- 12:50What was the movie?
- 12:51It was Sigourney Weaver.
- 12:52Yes.
- 12:53Do you remember that?
- 12:53Yes.
- 12:54What was it called?
- 12:55Gorillas In The Mist.
- 12:56Gorillas In The Mist.
- 12:58Oh, I cried.
- 12:59That broke my heart.
- 13:00I know.
- 13:00And that's one of my only regrets of going.
- 13:02I wish I had done that.
- 13:03At that time, it was very inexpensive.
- 13:05And you just go and you sit with the gorillas.
- 13:07And it's pretty incredible.
- 13:09But because gorillas are fascinating animals.
- 13:12And so, yeah, I wish I had done that.
- 13:13But I did see them at the Calgary Zoo, but that wasn't the same as in Uganda.
- 13:17Not really.
- 13:17No, not really.
- 13:18So, yeah.
- 13:19Anyway.
- 13:20So what else?
- 13:21You got something sitting here on the table, I noticed, from The Wall Coffee Roasters.
- 13:25This is a new blend.
- 13:26It's a limited edition blend called Summertime Sadness.
- 13:30Summertime Sadness.
- 13:32Is this really the name of it?
- 13:34No, seriously, look it is.
- 13:35You're right.
- 13:35Right on there.
- 13:36Summertime Sadness.
- 13:37Didn't you see their Instagram reel?
- 13:39Oh, yes.
- 13:40Yes, with Michael and the rain.
- 13:41Yes.
- 13:42Oh, that's quite a nice smelling blend.
- 13:43It's because of all the rain.
- 13:46They should have called it Summertime Happiness.
- 13:48Yes.
- 13:48Maybe it would change the weather.
- 13:50Although today is very sunny and nice and warm.
- 13:52But so, hey, have you tried this Summertime Sadness?
- 13:56Did you try it?
- 13:56I haven't yet.
- 13:57Have you?
- 13:58No, no.
- 13:59I didn't.
- 13:59Oh, interesting.
- 14:00I think we should because I want to know, I want to know, does it actually taste like, ready?
- 14:06Peach, nectarine, and lime zest.
- 14:10What?
- 14:10Look at.
- 14:12You're right.
- 14:13Peach, nectarine, and lime zest.
- 14:15Really?
- 14:16Coffee tasting?
- 14:17I don't know about that.
- 14:18You know what?
- 14:18Iced tea.
- 14:19Listen.
- 14:20Tea tastes like that.
- 14:20You and I are going to get a bag of this.
- 14:22We're going to blend it up, and we're going to try it and see.
- 14:24We'll try, and then we'll report back.
- 14:25And then we'll report back.
- 14:26On the Summertime Sadness.
- 14:27But it's almost sold out.
- 14:29It's sold out?
- 14:30Almost sold out, apparently.
- 14:31And they're not, it's a special edition.
- 14:33Well, Summertime Sadness, summer is almost over.
- 14:36Well, do you think you'll do a wintertime?
- 14:37We should.
- 14:38Wintertime Depression?
- 14:39Winter Solstice.
- 14:40Winter Solstice.
- 14:42I was going to call it Wintertime Depression Coffee.
- 14:45Do you want to drink a wintertime depression coffee?
- 14:47Well, I don't know if I want to do a summer.
- 14:50We got to try this summertime.
- 14:51I know, that's what I'm saying.
- 14:52We'll take it back and grind it up.
- 14:53Okay, what else?
- 14:54What else has been going on?
- 14:56It feels like summer again.
- 14:57It's been too short.
- 14:58It's gone by.
- 15:00Just like that.
- 15:01I have a little bit of a pet peeve.
- 15:02Oh, yeah.
- 15:03Okay.
- 15:05I don't know.
- 15:05We weren't going to go down this road, but I'm going there.
- 15:07No, let's go there.
- 15:08Pet peeve.
- 15:09I think people are disappointed when you and I don't share some of our pet peeves.
- 15:13Cam, have you noticed this summer, in particularly, the drivers have been horrific?
- 15:23Okay.
- 15:24Do we really want to go down this road?
- 15:26No pun intended, because I'm not disagreeing with you 100%.
- 15:30I don't know what's going on.
- 15:32I don't know what's going on.
- 15:34But I can't handle it.
- 15:35Do you remember a couple of weeks ago when I almost got into road rage incident?
- 15:38Yes.
- 15:39You texted me saying I might have had to bail you out of a local prison.
- 15:45Yes.
- 15:45Yeah.
- 15:46Because you were not happy.
- 15:47I was not happy.
- 15:49I was livid.
- 15:51Yeah.
- 15:51Yeah.
- 15:52Here I am following the rules of the road.
- 15:54Yes.
- 15:54As you're supposed to do.
- 15:56As you do always.
- 15:57Yes.
- 15:58And.
- 15:58Sort of.
- 15:59Yeah.
- 15:59There were people behind me.
- 16:00Yes.
- 16:01That were not.
- 16:02No.
- 16:02And were, oh.
- 16:04Were they tailgating you?
- 16:05Well, first of all, I slowed down for a yield, which you're supposed to do for a yield.
- 16:11What?
- 16:12When people are.
- 16:12You mean a yield sign?
- 16:13A yield sign.
- 16:14Yes.
- 16:15A yield sign.
- 16:16Yield.
- 16:16When people are like coming, right?
- 16:18Yielding means slowing down.
- 16:19It means slowing down.
- 16:21It's like an orange light.
- 16:22Correct.
- 16:23Right.
- 16:23Right.
- 16:23Okay.
- 16:25This woman comes up behind me.
- 16:26Yeah.
- 16:27And she lays on her horn.
- 16:29Because you're yielding.
- 16:29Because I'm yielding.
- 16:31And she's giving me the finger.
- 16:33She gave you the finger?
- 16:34Yeah.
- 16:35Because you were yielding.
- 16:36I was yielding.
- 16:36Okay.
- 16:37And I almost got out of my vehicle right then and there.
- 16:39But I had my child with me, and I thought I would not be a good role model.
- 16:45I would hope that would be videoed.
- 16:48Oh, in the world of social media, I'm sure somebody would have videoed.
- 16:51Because, you know, I follow that like Y-E-G.
- 16:53I know the Y-E-G.
- 16:54I'd be on Y-E-G.
- 16:55Yeah, you'd be on Y-E-G.
- 16:56I would.
- 16:56Because they're always, I don't know how those people, they get all the great road rage fights.
- 17:01Because people just sit there and record it.
- 17:02Yeah, they just sit there.
- 17:03So, but you didn't get out of your car.
- 17:05No.
- 17:05No.
- 17:06I didn't.
- 17:06You didn't.
- 17:07Took everything in me.
- 17:08Good for you.
- 17:08Yeah.
- 17:09No, good for you.
- 17:09Because you could have hurt the other person.
- 17:13She was.
- 17:13She.
- 17:14Yeah.
- 17:17See, now, people who are listening to the podcast, they have this image of you, mild mannered, calm.
- 17:22I know.
- 17:23And.
- 17:23It's not true.
- 17:24Well, this summer, I agree with you.
- 17:26This summer, I don't know what it is.
- 17:27Maybe, maybe, maybe it's summertime sadness or depression with all the rain or whatever.
- 17:32I don't know.
- 17:32But people are like, and they are, they're driving crazy.
- 17:35They are driving crazy.
- 17:36It's, it's, I've not, you know, listen, I've had my share this, this summer of people who have just like, I need to say this.
- 17:44When you read the driver's manual.
- 17:46And we just did because my son just got his learners.
- 17:49There you go.
- 17:49Okay.
- 17:50Which makes me afraid with all the drivers out there.
- 17:52Everybody, I think it should be mandatory that everybody reads the driver's manual every two years or something.
- 17:58Because you will notice in the driver's manual, it says, slower traffic, keep right.
- 18:04Yes.
- 18:05Right?
- 18:05Yes.
- 18:05To allow the free flow of traffic.
- 18:07Correct.
- 18:09Lately, I've noticed that the left lane is full of slower traffic.
- 18:16They don't move over.
- 18:17It's driving me nuts.
- 18:19I know.
- 18:19Absolutely.
- 18:20And listen, folks, I don't know if they don't teach it in driving school.
- 18:24I don't know if people gloss over it.
- 18:26Or do you think people are just oblivious?
- 18:29Self-absorbed and oblivious.
- 18:30Courtesy says, move over.
- 18:33There's the word you just used.
- 18:34Courtesy.
- 18:35Yeah.
- 18:35Yeah.
- 18:36It's lacking.
- 18:37This is...
- 18:38And it causes me angst.
- 18:39It causes me an enormous amount of angst.
- 18:42I'm cruising at a decent speed, a good speed, a nice speed.
- 18:46And then you come up behind somebody who's like, as my mother would have said, out for a Sunday drive.
- 18:52Yes.
- 18:53Move over.
- 18:54Move over.
- 18:54Just do the right thing.
- 18:56I have been known, and I know, I know this aggravates people.
- 19:00I flash my lights.
- 19:02Just a little courtesy flash.
- 19:04They don't move over.
- 19:06A little courtesy flash again.
- 19:08And then it just kind of at times goes a little berserk.
- 19:11Yeah.
- 19:11Then I just flash.
- 19:13But just move over.
- 19:16It's not a bad thing.
- 19:17I think some people think they think they're moving over.
- 19:21They're giving in.
- 19:22You're not giving in.
- 19:23Just move over, to be there.
- 19:26It's too much.
- 19:27Yeah.
- 19:28And I have another pet peeve.
- 19:31I went to the movies the other night.
- 19:32I went to see Odyssey.
- 19:34You did tell me this.
- 19:34Yeah, I went to see Odyssey.
- 19:35And it has nothing to do with Odyssey.
- 19:36No.
- 19:37Odyssey is a good movie.
- 19:39You got to know a little bit of your Greek mythology to understand Odyssey.
- 19:43My favorite character, I don't know if I should say, because maybe somebody hasn't seen it and I don't want to give it away.
- 19:48But it's a very good movie.
- 19:49But anyway, we went to the movie.
- 19:50But this is about customer service.
- 19:52This is customer service.
- 19:53These days, it costs a lot of money to go to a movie.
- 19:55Oh, I know.
- 19:56It's not like the old days where it was like a buck or 50 cents to go to the movie.
- 20:00I think- For two people, you're looking easily 50 bucks.
- 20:03I think for the two of us, for me and Sarah, my daughter, it was $22 and I used scene points.
- 20:12If you get food, it's like, yeah.
- 20:15Okay, I want to know why popcorn is so expensive in a theater.
- 20:20I know.
- 20:20Like a small bag of popcorn is like $7.95.
- 20:24Or yeah.
- 20:25And then I like a little extra butter.
- 20:27I'm not going to lie. But you pay for that.
- 20:28And I like it layered.
- 20:30You pay for the extra butter.
- 20:31You're charged.
- 20:31And I'm pretty sure they charge you layering fees.
- 20:34So by the time you're done, a small bag of popcorn is like $72.50.
- 20:38I know.
- 20:39You walk out of it.
- 20:39Anyways, we went, we got our, and you reserve your seats.
- 20:43Yes, you do.
- 20:44I do.
- 20:44I like sitting on the aisle.
- 20:46I do.
- 20:47Oh, me too.
- 20:47I'm an aisle sitter.
- 20:48I know, I agree.
- 20:49I don't like to be stuck in the middle.
- 20:51We go to our seats.
- 20:53We're a little early.
- 20:54I like to be a little early.
- 20:55I do like all the coming attraction things.
- 20:57Anyway, we're a little early.
- 20:59We go to our seats.
- 21:01There on our row is one of those wet things, wet signs.
- 21:08Like they mopped the floor.
- 21:09So we thought, oh, okay.
- 21:11We looked.
- 21:11It didn't look wet anymore.
- 21:12They'd probably done it earlier.
- 21:13We removed the sign.
- 21:15We stepped on to the floor.
- 21:17It was so sticky.
- 21:20My runners literally stuck to the floor.
- 21:22It was so sticky. I hate that.
- 21:23I mean, if they mopped it, somebody didn't do a good job, or they used water that had been used for the last 10 years for sticky floors and not changed it.
- 21:32They need a little soap. They need a little soap.
- 21:33So I wasn't impressed because I'd paid all this money to go to the movie.
- 21:36So my daughter kindly goes down and tells the lady, very sticky, very sticky.
- 21:41It made a noise.
- 21:45The lady gets on her radio, mop, aisle, or row, whatever it was.
- 21:51The young guy comes up, but I wasn't impressed.
- 21:54So I went down to just calmly talk to the manager.
- 21:58And I went down.
- 21:59The manager didn't seem all that interested, but and I explained to him, look, I don't pay all this money to come sit on a sticky floor where my shoes are...
- 22:09And you weren't rude about it.
- 22:10No, I just said...
- 22:11And he goes, Oh, well, it's just pop.
- 22:13And I said, I know it's just pop. You're just asking for it to be cleaned.
- 22:15And now I have pop all over my shoes.
- 22:19Anyway, it got a little tense for a moment.
- 22:22He did give me two free tickets to another movie of my choice.
- 22:28There was a person standing next to me, not an employee, a customer, I think, who decided to get in on the conversation and bawled me out because I was complaining about the sticky floor.
- 22:41Right.
- 22:42It didn't go well.
- 22:43Anyway, all I'm going to say about that.
- 22:45So all I want to say about that is if it's not your conversation, don't enter the conversation.
- 22:52I want to give you some kudos.
- 22:54Yes.
- 22:55Kudos for you for talking to the manager and not like a teenage worker and bawling the teenage worker out because too much of that happens.
- 23:04I know, and it's not his fault, obviously.
- 23:05Mind you, Sarah said I wasn't there when he came up.
- 23:08He was a teenage guy to mop the floor.
- 23:11He wasn't really thrilled or impressed, but who would be?
- 23:14I mean, who's thrilled or impressed about mopping a floor?
- 23:17But the manager, he was not impressed.
- 23:19He just didn't seem to care.
- 23:21He just gave me two free tickets.
- 23:23But anyway, so anyway, I want to say two things.
- 23:26One, you're paying a lot of money to go movie, so keep the theater clean.
- 23:31Two, if you are talking to the manager and you're just standing there, don't get in on the conversation.
- 23:37Well, how is it anybody's business?
- 23:38It wasn't his business.
- 23:39No.
- 23:39Anyway, but that being said, enjoyed the movie.
- 23:42Three hours long, I didn't fall asleep.
- 23:45I was kind of impressed.
- 23:45That is.
- 23:46Because sometimes even in the hour and a half movies, I tend to nod.
- 23:50But it kept me going.
- 23:51So if you haven't seen Odyssey, go see Odyssey.
- 23:52Good movie.
- 23:52You're going to go see Spider-Man?
- 23:53Yeah.
- 23:54Also another big summertime movie.
- 23:55Because I got free tickets.
- 23:57So I can go see Spider-Man.
- 23:58Get your free tickets.
- 23:59See, it all worked out.
- 24:00Do you remember Spider-Man?
- 24:01Do you remember the original cartoon?
- 24:04I do.
- 24:04I watched it.
- 24:05On Saturday mornings or whenever?
- 24:06I watched it every morning.
- 24:07Spider-Man.
- 24:07Spider-Man.
- 24:08It's the best.
- 24:08Weaves a web.
- 24:09No one can.
- 24:10Kids now wouldn't know what that is.
- 24:11Never know.
- 24:12It's like Batman.
- 24:13The original Batman show.
- 24:15On the original Batman show, the original show, whenever Batman or Robin got into a fight and they hit somebody on the screen, it would go like pow or wham.
- 24:27Cartoon one or when Adam West was Batman?
- 24:29Yeah, when Adam West.
- 24:32Yeah, I like that.
- 24:33I know.
- 24:34Yeah, that was cool.
- 24:36Now Batman, he doesn't even look like Batman.
- 24:40I've lost track of how many Batmans there actually have been.
- 24:44There's also been a million Spider-Man, but I hear this Spider-Man is very good.
- 24:48Who's the lead actor in this one?
- 24:50I don't know.
- 24:53A young guy who apparently his leading woman he's married to in the movie and in real life.
- 25:00No, not in the movie.
- 25:01I don't think Spider-Man married in the movie.
- 25:03No, Spider-Man's not married.
- 25:04He doesn't have time for that.
- 25:05No, no, he's weaving webs wherever he goes.
- 25:08That's right.
- 25:09So yeah, anyway, I'm going to go see that.
- 25:11But everybody says that's a great movie.
- 25:13I'm going to go see that movie.
- 25:15So yeah, that's what I'm going to do this summer. Free.
- 25:18So yeah, as you can tell, we had just the most exciting summer ever.
- 25:25But yeah.
- 25:26No, I was busy with baseball all summer.
- 25:27Yeah, you had baseball going and you had a little, some little trips there and stuff like that.
- 25:32And I was just around here building an ark and hoping that we didn't have to fill it.
- 25:38But yeah.
- 25:39The other thing that is really wrecked summer.
- 25:41Yeah.
- 25:42And I'm excited to talk to our guest next week about this, mosquitoes.
- 25:48Normally, they die off by this point.
- 25:51No, no, no, they're.
- 25:52They have been here all summer long.
- 25:54As I was preparing myself to be ready for today, when I got up in the bathroom, doing my hair and all that kind of stuff, there was a mosquito.
- 26:03They're everywhere.
- 26:04Yeah.
- 26:04I know.
- 26:05So I have to stop.
- 26:07And it's hard when you're in the middle of brushing your teeth.
- 26:10You can't just stop brushing your teeth.
- 26:12But there he is.
- 26:14And I'm like, he's going to land.
- 26:16He's going to land.
- 26:17But you got to get them while they land, because otherwise, they'll be in your house.
- 26:20So I have, I feel like today, my teeth are not sufficiently brushed because I had to stop, rinse and kill the mosquito.
- 26:28And they're everywhere.
- 26:30I know.
- 26:30And I'd like to say this as well.
- 26:32And next week, we'll talk about this.
- 26:34They're bigger than usual.
- 26:36They're huge.
- 26:38Do you not notice that?
- 26:39Well, they are.
- 26:41They're big.
- 26:42They're not little mosquitoes.
- 26:43This is why I have so many questions for our guest next week about the different breeds of mosquitoes.
- 26:48Well, there is different breeds.
- 26:49I know that.
- 26:50And I feel like, and there was a point this summer where you felt maybe you had got the West Nile virus.
- 26:55Well, I said that last week.
- 26:56Yeah.
- 26:57I self-diagnosed.
- 26:59You were feeling a little under the weather.
- 27:01I was.
- 27:02And I'm like, I think I have West Nile.
- 27:03I think I have West Nile.
- 27:05And you just like, you just laughed at me.
- 27:07Because you Googled it.
- 27:10You Googled that you had the West Nile virus.
- 27:12But then I heard that the West Nile was in these mosquitoes.
- 27:15No, it's true.
- 27:16So I don't know.
- 27:18Maybe I was bit and.
- 27:19I got the West Nile.
- 27:20Sorry, I maybe wasn't as compassionate as I should have been when you came in and said you felt you had the West Nile.
- 27:26It's not like I came in and said I had Ebola.
- 27:30I think I said that to you.
- 27:32Are you sure you don't have the Ebola?
- 27:33Yeah, no.
- 27:34Because you were like...
- 27:37Anyway, I don't...
- 27:38Good news is you don't have the West Nile.
- 27:40I don't think so.
- 27:41I don't think so.
- 27:42What are you doing?
- 27:43Is that a mosquito?
- 27:45I think there was a mosquito.
- 27:46They hear us talking about them, and they're coming together.
- 27:49I know.
- 27:49Okay, so good news is you don't have the West Nile.
- 27:54You don't have the Ebola, but you're right.
- 27:56The mosquitoes are everywhere.
- 27:57Now I'm itchy because you said mosquito.
- 27:59But they are there just everywhere.
- 28:02I'm itchy now that you said that.
- 28:04And they actually said this week, they're just...
- 28:08The rain hasn't stopped, and the puddles don't go away.
- 28:11Right, that's what the mosquito's like.
- 28:13That's where they breed, that's where their eggs are.
- 28:15And did you know their eggs can lay dormant for a very long time and all they need is water and then boom.
- 28:19I didn't know that.
- 28:20This is why next week, I feel like I'm excited about this guest.
- 28:24I think we should have had him a little earlier.
- 28:26I know.
- 28:26We couldn't arrange it, but because it's been quite a year for mosquitoes.
- 28:30Exactly.
- 28:31Listen, everybody has their remedy for warding off mosquitoes.
- 28:38I know.
- 28:39You have yours, your little machine.
- 28:41Well, they work.
- 28:41Yeah.
- 28:42They do.
- 28:42Today, I saw, I'm not kidding you, I saw this on the, it was either on the Facebook or the Instagram, not the LinkedIn.
- 28:49LinkedIn usually doesn't have stuff like this.
- 28:51I think it was on the Instagram.
- 28:53A lady cut a lime in half, put toothpicks in it, put on the bottom half, put cloves on the lime, stuck the top half on the toothpick.
- 29:04So it was like, yeah, a little gap, stuck it on the table and apparently that gets rid of them.
- 29:07I don't know.
- 29:08You know what that sounds like to me?
- 29:09What?
- 29:10A wasp attractor.
- 29:11Oh, a wasp attractor.
- 29:12Yeah.
- 29:13I haven't seen any wasps.
- 29:14No, they're out.
- 29:16Are they?
- 29:16Last night.
- 29:17Not by my house.
- 29:18Yep.
- 29:18Okay, because I was quite happy.
- 29:20But they're usually closer to the fall.
- 29:23True.
- 29:24That's right.
- 29:24They have you seen any bumblebees?
- 29:27I haven't seen many bumblebees.
- 29:28In the beginning in spring.
- 29:30Bumblebees are very important.
- 29:31We need the bumblebees.
- 29:33I don't like the wasps and I don't like the mosquitoes.
- 29:35But somebody told me that wasps eat mosquitoes, but I don't know if that's true.
- 29:39Dragonflies eat mosquitoes, and I've started to see more dragonflies.
- 29:42Good year for the fly, dragonfly.
- 29:45Yeah.
- 29:46Anyway, it's been that kind of summer.
- 29:48It's kind of funny.
- 29:48It sounds like all we've done is complain about summer, but it just hasn't been, it hasn't been the best summer.
- 29:54It has not been the best.
- 29:55I hope wherever you are, it's been a better summer because here is, I can't say it's been the best summer.
- 30:01So, and it's almost over.
- 30:02We're heading into fall.
- 30:03Two weeks till school begins.
- 30:04Oh, my son is thrilled.
- 30:06Is he?
- 30:07No.
- 30:07No.
- 30:07Not really.
- 30:08No.
- 30:08It's only the little grade 3's and 4's and 5's.
- 30:12They're so excited.
- 30:13It's not even the grade 5's.
- 30:14Because they want to see their friends.
- 30:15Kindergarten, grade 1, grade 2.
- 30:16That's the excitement.
- 30:17And then it goes downhill from there.
- 30:19And they're so excited because they haven't seen their little friend for so long.
- 30:22Now they're going to see him.
- 30:23But that wears off really quick.
- 30:24But nonetheless, two weeks away, hard to believe.
- 30:27Hokey doodles.
- 30:27You know what's going to happen with that?
- 30:29Here we go again.
- 30:30Traffic.
- 30:31Yeah.
- 30:32It's going to go through the roof.
- 30:33It's already picking up.
- 30:35It's already picking up.
- 30:35But it'll get worse.
- 30:36Oh, it'll get much worse.
- 30:37Much worse.
- 30:38And cars are everywhere.
- 30:40Cars are everywhere.
- 30:41There are just buses, cars.
- 30:43Because the school buses will be out.
- 30:45Yes.
- 30:45And you have to be careful.
- 30:46Yes, you do.
- 30:46You have to drive carefully with school buses.
- 30:49School, you got to slow.
- 30:50Well, now most school zones, it's year round.
- 30:56Because there's a lot of playgrounds around them.
- 30:57There is.
- 30:58So you have to slow down.
- 30:59But you got to slow down.
- 30:59And people, Public Service Announcement, PSA, when the stop sign comes out on the bus, you cannot go around the bus, because you're going to hit a kid.
- 31:10If the bus is stopped, he has his four ways on, and the stop sign comes out, and some of them, even at the front of the bus, have a little bar that swings out, you cannot pass. You must stop.
- 31:20But people do.
- 31:22It's ridiculous.
- 31:23Dangerous.
- 31:23Very dangerous.
- 31:25Don't do that.
- 31:25Where are you going in such a hurry?
- 31:27Exactly.
- 31:27Settle down.
- 31:28Let the little kids get home.
- 31:30They've had a hard day at the school.
- 31:32They need to be home.
- 31:34Safely.
- 31:34Safely.
- 31:35That's right.
- 31:36So maybe closer to, we can again remind people, school's in, be safe, drive safe.
- 31:43Don't drive like a maniac.
- 31:45Oh, the other story I heard on the news.
- 31:49On the news.
- 31:50Yeah, on the news.
- 31:51Is the number of injuries, severe injuries from e-scooters.
- 31:55Yes.
- 31:56Did you see that?
- 31:57The guy this morning on the news, because you're right, they were talking about it.
- 32:01He said, they shouldn't be called scooters.
- 32:03No.
- 32:04He thinks they should be called mini Teslas.
- 32:07That's what he said.
- 32:08Well, those things go.
- 32:1040 miles an hour.
- 32:11I know.
- 32:12Did you hear in the city here, a young boy got hit by an e-scooter and it broke his arm.
- 32:15Oh, I can see that.
- 32:16He wasn't riding the e-scooter.
- 32:18He got hit by an e-scooter.
- 32:19I know.
- 32:20And it broke his arm.
- 32:21Oh, I believe it.
- 32:22Now, listen, yesterday I was driving home from work and there was like 20 kids on scooters on the sidewalk.
- 32:29They were at, looked like, I don't know, like Scooter Gang or whatever they were.
- 32:32Scooter Squad.
- 32:33Scooter Squad.
- 32:34Yeah.
- 32:34And they, a lot of them were girls and they were having a good time, obviously.
- 32:37Went to the store and got their Slurpee or whatever.
- 32:40And I'm thinking to myself, that's kind of cool, but the way some people drive these scooters is insane.
- 32:45I know.
- 32:46Insane.
- 32:47And some of them don't stop at the stop.
- 32:50Like, they just go.
- 32:50They go.
- 32:51Yeah.
- 32:52Yeah.
- 32:53And they don't wear helmets.
- 32:54I heard, yeah, the scooter injuries.
- 32:56They were saying injuries are way up.
- 32:59Head injuries, shoulder injuries, way up because of scooter accidents.
- 33:03I know.
- 33:04It's not good.
- 33:05No.
- 33:05So listen, if you're an adult and you ride a scooter, ride safely. And wear a helmet.
- 33:10If you're a child, too.
- 33:12I know.
- 33:12Oh, that is a...
- 33:14But it's like when I was a kid, I never wore a helmet riding a bike.
- 33:17Well, maybe that's the way I am today.
- 33:19Why I'm why I'm today.
- 33:20But I'm just saying you got to wear a helmet.
- 33:23You do have to wear it.
- 33:23And when you're going that fast.
- 33:24Yeah.
- 33:25A pedal bike is one thing.
- 33:26Yes.
- 33:27An e-Scooter.
- 33:29Something else.
- 33:29Something else.
- 33:30And can I just say these?
- 33:32I don't know.
- 33:33Maybe where you live, they don't have these.
- 33:34We have them here.
- 33:35Every major city now has them.
- 33:36E-bikes.
- 33:37Well, yeah.
- 33:37And you just whatever you use your app.
- 33:40Yeah.
- 33:40And you run your scooter for a while.
- 33:42Yes.
- 33:42And then when you're done, you just drop it and walk away.
- 33:46I don't.
- 33:47I've had one in front of my house on my sidewalk and I got really, I got really annoyed and I pushed it out of the way.
- 33:52Good for you.
- 33:53I don't want it sitting there.
- 33:54I know.
- 33:54It looks terrible.
- 33:55It shouldn't be left on the side of the street.
- 33:57That's ridiculous.
- 33:58Anyway, I don't ride e-scooters or e-bikes, but they are getting.
- 34:02I'm afraid I'm going to fall off and break a bone.
- 34:04Right.
- 34:05They are.
- 34:05Yeah.
- 34:05Some of them go incredibly fast.
- 34:07They are very dangerous, and you maybe should have to take a course.
- 34:12When I was a kid, I went.
- 34:13You didn't have to.
- 34:14It wasn't mandatory.
- 34:15The bike rodeo?
- 34:15I went to.
- 34:16Well, they called it pedal pushers.
- 34:17Oh, right.
- 34:19And it was a week long in the community, and then I got a badge, and they taught me all the safety hand signals.
- 34:25I know.
- 34:25All that kind of stuff.
- 34:26Maybe we should do that with scooters.
- 34:28I don't disagree with you.
- 34:29But I don't know.
- 34:30The good news is, in about two months, people won't be riding them anymore.
- 34:35Remember when we went downtown?
- 34:36I can't remember when we went downtown for something.
- 34:38It was a hockey game.
- 34:39And I said, we should just park far away and take the scooter.
- 34:43Yeah.
- 34:43No, you're right.
- 34:44Just take the e-scooter.
- 34:46That's hilarious.
- 34:47Yeah.
- 34:48No, they're everywhere, and they are cool.
- 34:51I'm not denying that.
- 34:51My son has one.
- 34:52Yeah.
- 34:53And if I was younger, I think it'd be cool to ride around on one.
- 34:57I know.
- 34:57But they're dangerous.
- 34:59So I've heard.
- 35:00Oh, man.
- 35:01This is another summertime issue.
- 35:02All I gotta say is we've made summer sound extremely depressing.
- 35:06Well, you know what?
- 35:09And I'm going to think that one of the best things about summer has been the podcast, listening to the podcast.
- 35:15Oh, yeah.
- 35:16We've had some great guests.
- 35:17Like when you were stuck indoors and couldn't do anything listening to the podcast, sipping some tea, that probably was a good afternoon.
- 35:24I agree.
- 35:24And the exciting thing is, Jennifer, we have guests.
- 35:28We got some cool guests coming.
- 35:30I can't wait for them.
- 35:31Oh, we're not going to give it away.
- 35:32No.
- 35:32But we have some very cool guests coming up.
- 35:35We did talk about the Mosquito Guy.
- 35:37Yeah.
- 35:37He's coming.
- 35:37He's coming.
- 35:38That's going to be cool.
- 35:39I know.
- 35:39And we've got some other really cool guests.
- 35:41We are booked solid.
- 35:42We are.
- 35:42Which I love.
- 35:44What, what, this is, this is what, episode 116?
- 35:47116.
- 35:48116.
- 35:49Wow.
- 35:50Incredible.
- 35:50It is.
- 35:51Amazing.
- 35:52Unbelievable, actually.
- 35:53I know.
- 35:54So hey, well, that's it.
- 35:58I don't know.
- 35:58Now that we've depressed everybody.
- 36:00Well, I don't want people to leave depressed.
- 36:02No, don't leave depressed.
- 36:03Leave.
- 36:03It's good.
- 36:04Listen, people might also have had the same summertime issues.
- 36:07So we just brought it to light.
- 36:10I think everybody did.
- 36:11We were all here anyway.
- 36:13You know, we have to feel terrible.
- 36:15And I do.
- 36:16And there's no joke about this.
- 36:18The terrible forest fires that have happened in British Columbia, down in the southern area, Penticton, all through their summerland.
- 36:26Devastating.
- 36:27Devastating.
- 36:28And some of that kind of stuff.
- 36:30So I think everywhere there has been a lot of flooding all over the place.
- 36:36I think it's been a very unique summer.
- 36:39And I hope next summer is better.
- 36:42We say that all the time.
- 36:43I know.
- 36:44We do.
- 36:45It just seems like, again, when I was a kid, I don't know, it went from July to August.
- 36:49Every day was sunny almost.
- 36:51The odd day of rain, but every day was sunny.
- 36:54That's true.
- 36:54My poor patio furniture is extremely soggy.
- 36:57Patio furniture, the plants have wilted, the flowers have wilted.
- 37:02My neighbors, their flowers are done.
- 37:04They're not even out there anymore.
- 37:05I've given up.
- 37:06Yeah.
- 37:06Because I just don't care anymore.
- 37:08They're gone.
- 37:08They looked beautiful at the beginning, and now I just don't care.
- 37:11But once again, depressing.
- 37:18I don't want to be Debbie Downer.
- 37:19No.
- 37:19What would make you happy is if you came to The Wall Coffee Roasters.
- 37:22And had the summertime.
- 37:23And had the summertime sadness coffee.
- 37:29But it's very bright in here and very nice, and there's green foliage in here and a very accommodating staff.
- 37:36And yeah, it's absolutely great.
- 37:39Great customer service at The Wall Coffee Roasters.
- 37:44So the floors aren't sticky.
- 37:45No, they're not.
- 37:46They're very unsticky.
- 37:48I like it.
- 37:49They mop them all the time.
- 37:51It's nice.
- 37:53Anyways, all I got to say is thank you again to Wing Snob.
- 38:00That could make your summer happy.
- 38:01Right.
- 38:02Go get some wings.
- 38:03Sure.
- 38:03At the Wing Snob.
- 38:04Good people.
- 38:05I'm trying to think.
- 38:06What?
- 38:07Do they?
- 38:08No.
- 38:08Mike doesn't have patios at the Wing Snob.
- 38:10No, not usually.
- 38:11No, because they're in strip malls.
- 38:14True.
- 38:15I was going to say, sit on the patio.
- 38:16Sit on the patio.
- 38:17But you could take them home or to the park.
- 38:19Yes.
- 38:20Well, again, the mosquitoes.
- 38:22But I'm just saying.
- 38:24I'm just saying, take them home.
- 38:26Maybe eat them inside.
- 38:29Because you're going to attract the wasps and get them to hide by the mosquitoes.
- 38:33Oh, man.
- 38:34Jennifer and I will be embarking on our feel-good tour very soon, making people feel good.
- 38:42Because I don't know, today, anyways.
- 38:46It's been a week and it's only Tuesday.
- 38:47It's only Tuesday.
- 38:49Yeah, we dropped this on Thursday, but it's only Tuesday.
- 38:53Anyhow, don't forget Wing Snob.
- 38:56www.wingsnob.ca.
- 38:57If you don't know what to do for dinner tonight, check them out wherever you go.
- 39:01And hey, normally we ask our guests one final question, but today I couldn't answer that.
- 39:10I could ask you.
- 39:11I don't think I can answer it either today.
- 39:14I'm not going to do it.
- 39:18So listen, thanks for listening.
- 39:20And we do sincerely mean that our number, our listenership goes up all the time.
- 39:25I know, thank you.
- 39:26Our numbers go up, our 116th podcast.
- 39:30Nonstop, we've never missed a week.
- 39:33No, we have not.
- 39:34Never.
- 39:35Never.
- 39:36Some podcasts, they drop one, and then you don't hear from them for a little while, and I'm not, you know, distant anybody.
- 39:42We've talked about those podcast stats.
- 39:43We have, but we've never missed a week.
- 39:45No.
- 39:46And we've only done a replay twice, three times.
- 39:49But for a purpose.
- 39:50It was on purpose.
- 39:51It was on purpose.
- 39:52That we did it.
- 39:52So yeah.
- 39:53So hey, so check us out.
- 39:56Make sure to tell your friends, tell your neighbors, tell your coworkers, tell your enemies.
- 40:01If you don't have a friend, make one just so you can tell them about the podcast.
- 40:05Although this episode might depress them.
- 40:07So I don't know.
- 40:08Will you keep that friend?
- 40:10Well, no, cause you'll both sit there.
- 40:12Listen, you can bond over.
- 40:13You'll bond over a crappy summer.
- 40:15A crappy summer.
- 40:17And maybe you can come to The Wall and get some summertime sadness and talk about it.
- 40:22And yeah.
- 40:23And so yeah, if you don't have a friend, did I say it?
- 40:25Make one.
- 40:26And make sure wherever you get your podcasts or at www.coffeeinthepark.ca and follow us on our Instagram page.
- 40:35Coffeeinthepark.ca?
- 40:36Oh, sorry.
- 40:37No.
- 40:38Com. Com.
- 40:38Oh my God, I made the mistake.
- 40:40Usually I make the mistake.
- 40:41I know.
- 40:42Put it in the Google and it'll come up.
- 40:44Put it in the Google.
- 40:46We're also on the Instagram.
- 40:48Yeah.
- 40:49And the LinkedIn.
- 40:50And we're on the LinkedIn.
- 40:51Yeah.
- 40:51We're not on the Facebook.
- 40:53No.
- 40:54I know you're not a big...
- 40:56We should talk about that one day.
- 40:58You're not a big Facebook fan, but nonetheless, well, maybe one day we'll get on the Facebook.
- 41:02Maybe one day we'll even get on the TikTok.
- 41:05We are.
- 41:06Are we on the TikTok?
- 41:07Yeah, we're already on the TikTok.
- 41:07I don't think we're putting anything on the TikTok these days.
- 41:10I don't know.
- 41:11I'll have to start to Hannah about that.
- 41:13Oh, no.
- 41:13Anyhow.
- 41:14Hey, listen, thanks for listening, everybody.
- 41:16We appreciate it.
- 41:17And stop by The Wall Coffee Roasters for some summertime sadness.
- 41:22Yes.
- 41:22Thanks, everybody.
- 41:23Have a great week.
- 41:24See you next week.
