- 0:36Speaker 2: The following feature has been rated R by the Motion
- 0:39Speaker 2: Picture Association of America.
- 0:41Speaker 1: It is intended for mature audiences and parental discretion is advised.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million kilowatts of power.
- 1:16Speaker 2: to provide more cooling in the containment chamber. To your sentinels,
- 1:19Speaker 2: we have revealed them.
- 1:21Speaker 1: And I will haunt you forever! What's up? Welcome to
- 1:54Speaker 1: Movie Meltdown. I'm Brian.
- 1:56Speaker 3: I'm Nora.
- 1:56Speaker 1: And I'm Phillip. And we're coming to you live via
- 1:58Speaker 1: digital recording from the Kitty Corral in these spooky, spooky
- 2:02Speaker 1: times for our extra special Halloween special. Wee!
- 2:11Speaker 3: I thought i thought one of you was gonna do another.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Noise oh i'm sorry thank you i'm inserting them in
- 2:18Speaker 1: right now don't you worry okay good so it's mid-october
- 2:27Speaker 1: A nice, chilly 87 degrees outside because the world's coming
- 2:32Speaker 1: to an end.
- 2:33Speaker 4: The leaves are turning slightly less green.
- 2:39Speaker 1: What is wrong with the world? Every day as I
- 2:43Speaker 1: wander around, I'm like, why is it 90 today? It
- 2:46Speaker 1: is October. But, you know, otherwise, I see lots of
- 2:52Speaker 1: Halloween stuff in the stores, so I like that.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:55Speaker 3: We put out our big spooky spider today.
- 2:59Speaker 1: It didn't attack me on the way in, but I
- 3:00Speaker 1: think it was thinking about it. I didn't notice it.
- 3:03Speaker 4: But I have been enjoying your neon bat over here.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Yeah, neon bat, mini pumpkin, little ghost garland on the fireplace.
- 3:13Speaker 1: It's very festive in here.
- 3:15Speaker 3: It's the renaissance picture of me. cats that my mom
- 3:19Speaker 3: got at the saint james art fair.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Oh that's that's spectacular that's just such a thing now
- 3:24Speaker 1: because again i know someone that shall remain nameless that
- 3:27Speaker 1: has two hanging up right now no three well no
- 3:32Speaker 1: there's two renaissance and one that's just a dog wearing
- 3:34Speaker 1: glasses so animals wearing people clothes and accessories is just
- 3:40Speaker 1: such a subsection of prefab artwork at this point.
- 3:45Speaker 4: Yes but nothing will be dogs playing poker.
- 3:48Speaker 1: I mean that's the classic that's the old.
- 3:50Speaker 4: I don't care what anybody says you look at that
- 3:52Speaker 4: painting that is actually there's skill involved.
- 3:54Speaker 1: There oh yeah it is an art form in and
- 3:57Speaker 1: of itself yes but yeah so spooky things are going
- 4:02Speaker 1: on I like that that's all I have to go
- 4:05Speaker 1: with so have you been watching any spooky.
- 4:09Speaker 4: Things again I'm nodding yes.
- 4:14Speaker 1: That is the best way to handle audio yeah.
- 4:17Speaker 3: We wanted uh something like i want something fun fall
- 4:23Speaker 3: spooky not too intense so we watched uh that's every day.
- 4:27Speaker 1: For me now yeah just not so.
- 4:30Speaker 3: I really can't yeah just stop i can't so we
- 4:33Speaker 3: watched clown in a cornfield which fun title.
- 4:38Speaker 1: I mean, I guess, but then there's probably going to
- 4:39Speaker 1: be clowns, and then I'm just going to be annoyed
- 4:41Speaker 1: for other reasons.
- 4:42Speaker 3: There are clowns.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Who let these clowns in this movie?
- 4:45Speaker 3: Yeah, it was what I was looking for.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Oh, good.
- 4:49Speaker 3: It was like teen, funny.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Takes itself somewhat seriously? Because most of those indie horror
- 4:56Speaker 1: movies take themselves really seriously.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Yeah, not in an annoying way.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Is clown in a cornfield, is it equal to snakes
- 5:06Speaker 4: on a plane? Like it tells you in the title
- 5:09Speaker 4: what you're going to get. Yeah.
- 5:10Speaker 1: And enough of these motherfucking clowns.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Pretty much.
- 5:12Speaker 1: These motherfucking cornfields. I would watch that. I mean, because
- 5:17Speaker 1: that's my comment anytime I see clowns.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Yeah. When like the big reveal comes, it's something that.
- 5:22Speaker 3: You're like, oh, I've seen that before. It wasn't anything groundbreaking,
- 5:27Speaker 3: but for like an hour.
- 5:28Speaker 1: And a half, yeah.
- 5:29Speaker 4: As long as they're not trying to make you feel
- 5:31Speaker 4: otherwise leading up to.
- 5:32Speaker 5: It, I'm okay with it.
- 5:33Speaker 3: No, yeah.
- 5:34Speaker 4: I like it when they tell you the name of
- 5:36Speaker 4: the protagonist and where he, she, or it is located.
- 5:40Speaker 4: Clown in a cornfield.
- 5:42Speaker 5: All right.
- 5:42Speaker 3: I did feel like the... the hands of time coming
- 5:47Speaker 3: for me because I identified a lot more with the
- 5:50Speaker 3: dad character he was very funny whoever that actor was
- 5:54Speaker 3: whose name I don't remember Here, I bet I can
- 5:56Speaker 3: look them up.
- 5:56Speaker 1: You kids, get out of my cornfield.
- 5:58Speaker 4: That happened to me the last time I watched The
- 6:00Speaker 4: Breakfast Club. I was actually on the principal's side. I
- 6:03Speaker 4: was like, look at these jackasses tearing up the library.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Yeah, because there's all these teens. Okay, Aaron Abrams plays
- 6:13Speaker 3: the dad. And I liked him a lot. And the
- 6:16Speaker 3: teens are teens. They're fine. It was fine.
- 6:20Speaker 2: It was fun.
- 6:21Speaker 3: A good October harvest season. dried corn thing. I don't know.
- 6:29Speaker 3: That's fine.
- 6:30Speaker 1: That's all you can ask. All right. Yeah.
- 6:34Speaker 4: Does the clown have balloons? So like, is there times
- 6:37Speaker 4: where they're looking, they're in the cornfield and they're like,
- 6:39Speaker 4: where's the clown? And they look over and they just
- 6:40Speaker 4: see the balloons bobbing up and down?
- 6:42Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 6:43Speaker 5: Missed opportunity.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Yeah, not that I remember.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Is it seasonal within it? I mean, is it set
- 6:48Speaker 1: around a, because now you have all your cornfield type
- 6:51Speaker 1: activities going on in parts of the country that I
- 6:54Speaker 1: guess can have those. So.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Yeah, it's set like, there are, yeah.
- 6:58Speaker 1: It's fall, harvest-y time.
- 7:00Speaker 3: It's fall, you're in a cornfield.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Come stand in a cornfield and maybe get murdered.
- 7:04Speaker 3: I think it's that the original clown is like the
- 7:06Speaker 3: mascot for a corn syrup manufacturing company or something. And
- 7:11Speaker 3: so that's.
- 7:12Speaker 5: Merc.
- 7:12Speaker 3: But yes, there is corn.
- 7:14Speaker 1: It's all about corn syrup. Always. Yeah, yeah, pretty much.
- 7:21Speaker 4: I watched a movie called Bring Her Back. Oh.
- 7:24Speaker 5: Have you seen it?
- 7:25Speaker 3: No. I saw it talk to me and it messed
- 7:28Speaker 3: me up.
- 7:28Speaker 5: Brace yourself.
- 7:29Speaker 1: I remember the title and now I can't remember which
- 7:32Speaker 1: premise went with it.
- 7:33Speaker 4: Well, first of all, it is an Australian film, which
- 7:36Speaker 4: you know how I love and fear Australian films.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Because everything there is trying to kill you.
- 7:41Speaker 5: Everything there is trying to kill you, including their cinema.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 7:45Speaker 4: But the premise, without giving too much away, is that...
- 7:50Speaker 4: there are a couple of teenagers, a brother and sister,
- 7:53Speaker 4: who come home and find their dad dead, and then
- 7:55Speaker 4: they get placed in foster care. The girl of the
- 8:00Speaker 4: two teens is blind, and their new foster mom, we
- 8:05Speaker 4: find out right away that she previously had a blind daughter,
- 8:09Speaker 4: so you're like, okay, she's trying to replace her daughter
- 8:13Speaker 4: with this girl, and as the movie goes on, yes,
- 8:17Speaker 4: that is indeed the case, but in ways that you
- 8:21Speaker 4: could not possibly have foreseen coming.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:23Speaker 4: It is one of the goriest movies I have seen
- 8:26Speaker 4: in a while, which I've talked on here before about
- 8:29Speaker 4: how I'm not a big gore fan, but this time
- 8:31Speaker 4: the gore actually makes sense. It's not just gore for
- 8:35Speaker 4: gore's sake. It actually like moves the plot forward. And
- 8:40Speaker 4: at the end of the movie, you're full of questions,
- 8:42Speaker 4: but you're like, I don't.
- 8:44Speaker 5: Need these questions answered. I'd rather not know.
- 8:46Speaker 4: We'll just go with what we got here. So I highly, highly,
- 8:50Speaker 4: highly recommend it.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 8:53Speaker 3: I need to work myself up to seeing that one.
- 8:55Speaker 5: What was the one you said?
- 8:57Speaker 3: So the brothers who wrote and directed that, their first
- 9:01Speaker 3: movie that they did was called Talk to Me.
- 9:03Speaker 5: Talk to Me.
- 9:03Speaker 3: And it was about the hand.
- 9:05Speaker 5: Is it the hand?
- 9:06Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:06Speaker 4: I didn't realize that was the same.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Oh, God.
- 9:11Speaker 4: This is this is that dialed up I know.
- 9:15Speaker 3: That's why I haven't seen it because talk to me
- 9:16Speaker 3: was so scary and upsetting it was creepy yeah very good.
- 9:22Speaker 4: This is this is as an overall movie this is
- 9:27Speaker 4: much better put together than that is oh interesting and
- 9:31Speaker 4: I like.
- 9:31Speaker 3: That one yeah oh man I'm gonna have to watch.
- 9:34Speaker 5: It then I was kinda I'm kinda thinking.
- 9:36Speaker 3: But it's gonna make me really upset.
- 9:38Speaker 4: I mean I'm almost thinking we should do it on
- 9:40Speaker 4: here because it was that good and there's there would
- 9:44Speaker 4: be a lot to talk about.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Sounds like a lot i don't have to think about
- 9:49Speaker 1: things which i guess kind of i don't know i
- 9:55Speaker 1: was trying to think what led me to this one
- 9:58Speaker 1: mostly i just wanted to come back around to this
- 10:02Speaker 1: uh series i guess because i did see 28 years
- 10:05Speaker 1: later have either of you seen it not yet i
- 10:11Speaker 1: i think because i'd heard because it if it was
- 10:15Speaker 1: based on the first one because the first one is
- 10:17Speaker 1: amazing but also i've always found it to be like
- 10:20Speaker 1: overwhelmingly slow like depressing no yeah just like the first
- 10:25Speaker 1: well it's got a great opening and then you get
- 10:28Speaker 1: that mid-level right in the center there where it's almost
- 10:30Speaker 1: fun and like has a nice little like hey we're
- 10:33Speaker 1: dealing with this problem and everything's cool and then there's
- 10:36Speaker 1: a point right in the middle where something bad happens
- 10:39Speaker 1: and then from that point on everything just sucks like
- 10:42Speaker 1: it's just like everything is dark and i mean granted
- 10:45Speaker 1: that's what you're there for i get it but i'm
- 10:46Speaker 1: like tonally it's like more dark than a lot of
- 10:50Speaker 1: even your standard zombie movies I feel like so it's
- 10:54Speaker 1: one of those I like own a copy of it
- 10:56Speaker 1: but I have watched it maybe once since I originally
- 10:59Speaker 1: like I don't revisit it because of that.
- 11:02Speaker 4: Yeah I think I own a copy too and I
- 11:04Speaker 4: don't think I've even cracked the seal on it.
- 11:06Speaker 1: That's yeah that's been my take is I think about
- 11:09Speaker 1: it and think how much I appreciate it and respect
- 11:12Speaker 1: it and yeah do I want to watch it really
- 11:15Speaker 1: that's just it's depressing like it just gets horrifying by
- 11:19Speaker 1: the end in different ways and more sad ways and
- 11:22Speaker 1: yeah that sucks so what do you think of the
- 11:25Speaker 1: second one though the second one i haven't seen in
- 11:29Speaker 1: a long time again i think i picked up a
- 11:31Speaker 1: copy i think i've watched it once years ago but
- 11:34Speaker 1: i haven't because i keep thinking lately i wanted to
- 11:36Speaker 1: revisit it just to sort of take a look at
- 11:38Speaker 1: it technically I don't think he directed that one he's
- 11:41Speaker 1: still like producer but like so but I remember at
- 11:44Speaker 1: the time liking that one I felt like it was
- 11:46Speaker 1: a more conventional well right just normal like here's some
- 11:50Speaker 1: kids that got into trouble with zombies in the zombie
- 11:52Speaker 1: world and like it felt a little more just your
- 11:55Speaker 1: normal zombie movie versus the weird intensity of the original.
- 11:58Speaker 4: Yeah my mistake was I went in expecting more of
- 12:01Speaker 4: the the original yeah and it's a completely different take.
- 12:05Speaker 1: On it but little but it's not bad huh Little Poots.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Oh, she's in it.
- 12:10Speaker 1: That's the first thing I ever remember. She's like a
- 12:12Speaker 1: kid in that. She's one of the two kids.
- 12:14Speaker 5: Little Poots.
- 12:14Speaker 1: So, yeah. Little Imogene Poots.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Wait, what's the new one that just came out, then?
- 12:19Speaker 1: Yeah, I keep seeing her posting stuff from festivals, and
- 12:22Speaker 1: now I don't remember what it was, but she's got
- 12:24Speaker 1: a new one that just came out.
- 12:26Speaker 3: No, didn't a new 28 whatever?
- 12:29Speaker 5: Yeah, 28 Years Later.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Oh. That's the one he saw. Well, that's the one
- 12:33Speaker 1: I watched, but that's the third.
- 12:34Speaker 3: What's the second one?
- 12:35Speaker 5: 28 Weeks.
- 12:36Speaker 3: Oh okay so it's days weeks years gotcha.
- 12:39Speaker 4: I'm still upset that they missed out on the money.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Yeah i mean i'm kind of surprised he came back
- 12:45Speaker 1: to it really like i thought yeah because that was
- 12:48Speaker 1: like the first movie that kind of broke for him
- 12:50Speaker 1: so like i thought well now he got his cheap
- 12:52Speaker 1: horror movie out of the way and then he started
- 12:54Speaker 1: making oscar movies and i was just like well guess
- 12:56Speaker 1: he's done with horror now so it's kind of surprised
- 12:59Speaker 1: i mean although you know in recent years he's done
- 13:01Speaker 1: some weird not what you would expect him to do
- 13:04Speaker 1: kind of movies so he's an all over the place
- 13:06Speaker 1: sort of director anyway but i was surprised he still
- 13:10Speaker 1: came back around i guess just the years were catching
- 13:13Speaker 1: up he's like well i'm gonna do this we gotta
- 13:15Speaker 1: make good on this timing like this is it so
- 13:19Speaker 1: i liked it um again i think i think i'd
- 13:23Speaker 1: heard it wasn't like that one in that same way
- 13:27Speaker 1: So yeah, I think tonally it's not as overpowering as
- 13:31Speaker 1: the other ones. I think it's a little more, because
- 13:34Speaker 1: it is, here's the weird part. And I don't remember
- 13:37Speaker 1: if they went into this in the second one. The
- 13:39Speaker 1: first one, it happens immediately. So you don't know what's
- 13:42Speaker 1: going on outside of your frame of reference right in
- 13:45Speaker 1: front of you. But like in this one, we get
- 13:47Speaker 1: at least mentions of a worldview that like basically the
- 13:51Speaker 1: rest of the world's fine and operating like it normally
- 13:55Speaker 1: would be right now. they just, so like, I don't
- 13:59Speaker 1: think they said it, but I'm watching this going, so
- 14:02Speaker 1: they just said, this island here has got zombies. Screw
- 14:06Speaker 1: you guys. And they just like, everybody just stays away now.
- 14:10Speaker 1: So I'm like, they're basically just quarantined off on their
- 14:13Speaker 1: own area.
- 14:13Speaker 5: You're screwed if you live there.
- 14:15Speaker 1: And yeah, the rest of the world just continues on.
- 14:18Speaker 1: It's like, yeah screw you guys which is what I
- 14:21Speaker 1: said I was like actually that's maybe the most realistic
- 14:23Speaker 1: thing about this movie because that is exactly what certainly
- 14:26Speaker 1: our country would do and I'm sure the rest of
- 14:29Speaker 1: the world would jump right in so yeah yeah so
- 14:32Speaker 1: that was interesting that the world seems to be going
- 14:34Speaker 1: on just like normal outside of this one little place
- 14:37Speaker 1: where there's zombies so that's interesting um it does start
- 14:43Speaker 1: off a little slower and then it becomes almost like
- 14:46Speaker 1: a road trip movie ooh laughing They don't have a car,
- 14:50Speaker 1: but it's still sort of like a... We're on the
- 14:53Speaker 1: road to Zambia. Yeah, so that becomes a little more
- 14:56Speaker 1: interesting because they get out into the countryside then and
- 14:58Speaker 1: are kind of dealing with different scenarios then. And we
- 15:02Speaker 1: get a few other characters that come into play. Definitely
- 15:05Speaker 1: one major one that I think they're going to do
- 15:07Speaker 1: something else with. I think that's the only thing I
- 15:09Speaker 1: noticed by the end of it. This definitely feels like
- 15:13Speaker 1: it's part of a series now. Where that first one
- 15:16Speaker 1: was just like, here's a weird messed up horror movie,
- 15:18Speaker 1: the end. And like, that was it. The fact that
- 15:21Speaker 1: they even came back to do a sequel is just
- 15:22Speaker 1: because the first one made money. So like, this one
- 15:25Speaker 1: feels like it's part of a series so much so
- 15:29Speaker 1: that it sets up a character that now I've heard,
- 15:32Speaker 1: I don't know if this has fallen through since then,
- 15:33Speaker 1: but they were potentially going to do either another movie
- 15:37Speaker 1: with this character or a whole limited series based around
- 15:40Speaker 1: this character. It's, So I was just like, that's a lot. Really?
- 15:46Speaker 1: Which is like, it works fine in this movie, but
- 15:48Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't know about a whole nother series, man.
- 15:50Speaker 1: And then it also just like ends in a way
- 15:54Speaker 1: that is just leading into something else. Like it's just
- 15:57Speaker 1: setting you up for another movie, which again is weird
- 16:01Speaker 1: when it was like, I was surprised he even came
- 16:03Speaker 1: back for this one. So is he going to come
- 16:04Speaker 1: back and direct again? Or is like last time just
- 16:08Speaker 1: going to hand it off? Like, yeah, I'll produce it.
- 16:09Speaker 1: But yeah, you guys start making something. So. I don't know.
- 16:12Speaker 1: But it's definitely a little lighter in tone. The zombies
- 16:17Speaker 1: have changed. Although, again, people are going to argue that
- 16:20Speaker 1: they're not. For the sake of calling them whatever. They've
- 16:23Speaker 1: become feral over the years. Weren't they already? Zombies in
- 16:26Speaker 1: and of themselves, I know, are feral. No, these are like,
- 16:30Speaker 1: before it had that animalistic kind of thing when you
- 16:33Speaker 1: got infected with the rage virus. But this is, you just,
- 16:39Speaker 1: it's just animals. And animals so much so they don't,
- 16:44Speaker 1: it's been years, I guess, or they just purposefully strip
- 16:48Speaker 1: themselves because they don't wear clothes anymore. So that's an
- 16:51Speaker 1: interesting new aspect when zombie attacks happen. Yeah, just feral
- 16:56Speaker 1: animal creatures running around.
- 17:00Speaker 3: That is like the one thing that I heard about
- 17:02Speaker 3: that movie was apparently there's one zombie.
- 17:04Speaker 5: There's one.
- 17:04Speaker 1: He's the big daddy, we'll say.
- 17:09Speaker 3: And yeah, yeah. Yeah.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:14Speaker 3: Which is such a wild choice if you're making a
- 17:17Speaker 3: movie to have one that's like distracting me. Well endowed.
- 17:21Speaker 1: I mean, I guess it makes sense. He is the
- 17:23Speaker 1: one in charge, so. Well.
- 17:26Speaker 4: See, that's the sort of decision that had I been
- 17:29Speaker 4: on the movie crew would have gotten me reprimanded.
- 17:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:34Speaker 1: A little phone call from HR. Yeah. You're like, but
- 17:40Speaker 1: it makes sense. Let me explain again. No, please don't.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Please don't.
- 17:43Speaker 3: I just don't feel like it's necessary.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Stop drawing the pictures because that is not helping your case.
- 17:49Speaker 1: But I have all these.
- 17:50Speaker 5: You can draw more pictures.
- 17:51Speaker 1: I got a whole notebook full. Yeah, we know.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Yeah, we've seen. You have to stop showing the interns
- 17:57Speaker 3: your notebook.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Craft services is not a place for your showcase of artwork.
- 18:05Speaker 3: That's so funny. That did make me remember that when
- 18:08Speaker 3: I was in high school, this is about the original
- 18:10Speaker 3: 28 Days Later and not about what we were just
- 18:12Speaker 3: talking about.
- 18:13Speaker 4: I'm glad you clarified it.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Before I go into this.
- 18:17Speaker 1: I assumed it was just your notebook.
- 18:19Speaker 4: Where does the zombie dong come into the story?
- 18:22Speaker 3: Just regular.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Super bad notebook.
- 18:24Speaker 3: Regular zombies with pants on.
- 18:27Speaker 1: But.
- 18:27Speaker 3: I do have a very vivid memory of the first
- 18:30Speaker 3: time that I smoked weed in high school. We were
- 18:33Speaker 3: all at this kid's house, and his parents were out
- 18:35Speaker 3: of town, and so we all spent the night on
- 18:38Speaker 3: the floor in sleeping bags in the living room, and
- 18:41Speaker 3: he had a giant screen TV, and someone had put
- 18:45Speaker 3: on 28 Days Later, and then we.
- 18:47Speaker 4: All fell asleep.
- 18:48Speaker 1: A little intense for mixing drugs in.
- 18:51Speaker 3: Yeah, and it was the DVD, so when it was over,
- 18:53Speaker 3: it just went to the menu, which is entirely just like.
- 18:58Speaker 1: And loops over and over and over.
- 19:01Speaker 3: So I woke up at like three in the morning
- 19:03Speaker 3: and everyone else is asleep and all is just like
- 19:06Speaker 3: blaring zombie noises nonstop. So anyway, that's the first time
- 19:11Speaker 3: I did drugs. And only time, mom.
- 19:15Speaker 1: And that's what messed you up and the reason you
- 19:18Speaker 1: are the way you are.
- 19:19Speaker 3: That's when I said never again. Never.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Learned your lesson.
- 19:23Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 19:24Speaker 1: All right. So, yeah, that was fine. Again, not mind-blowing, but, like,
- 19:34Speaker 1: entertaining if you are okay with zombies and or rage
- 19:38Speaker 1: virus peoples. Yeah, yeah.
- 19:44Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah.
- 19:48Speaker 2: All right.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Anything else? seasonal before we attack this week's movie?
- 19:53Speaker 5: I have something for us.
- 19:56Speaker 4: So, Nora, you know how every year Brian reminds.
- 19:59Speaker 5: Us that he hates us by giving us nasty candies?
- 20:03Speaker 3: Yes.
- 20:03Speaker 5: I have brought my own Halloween candy.
- 20:07Speaker 3: Candies oh and on theme.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Sour patch zombie that's old school because we went through
- 20:13Speaker 1: a whole year of sour patch kids yeah every excuse
- 20:17Speaker 1: to have a new different weird sour patch kid we
- 20:19Speaker 1: did it so i thought you know we needed a
- 20:22Speaker 1: break for a while but it's been a while so
- 20:23Speaker 1: it has been a while we could go back to
- 20:25Speaker 1: some i.
- 20:25Speaker 4: Have not tried those yet so i don't know how
- 20:27Speaker 4: they are but cute i also have the mike and
- 20:29Speaker 4: ike Sour spooky treats.
- 20:32Speaker 3: How fun.
- 20:33Speaker 4: Which come in sour ghoulish grape, sour orange scream. and
- 20:38Speaker 4: Sour Wicked Watermelon. And I have had a box of these,
- 20:41Speaker 4: and I must say these are fantastic.
- 20:42Speaker 3: All right.
- 20:43Speaker 1: There's a nice creepy sour theme going on. Oh, how cute.
- 20:47Speaker 5: There we go.
- 20:49Speaker 4: Everyone feel free to have sugary snacks.
- 20:51Speaker 3: Thanks, Phillip.
- 20:52Speaker 4: Here you are.
- 20:53Speaker 1: And see, this time it's not even my fault.
- 20:55Speaker 3: That's going to bother me. And listeners, you are not
- 20:59Speaker 3: here to smell it, but I'm making soup because it's
- 21:02Speaker 3: soup season.
- 21:03Speaker 1: It's very seasonal fall behaviors.
- 21:06Speaker 3: Soup, soup.
- 21:08Speaker 5: It is very good smelling.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Who doesn't need a good soup?
- 21:12Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 21:15Speaker 4: Every now and then I meet people who tell me
- 21:17Speaker 4: they don't like soup in July, and I don't understand
- 21:20Speaker 4: what they're trying to tell me.
- 21:22Speaker 1: I mean, I've told you mine. Just doping in that
- 21:24Speaker 1: can is a lot of trouble. Other than that, if
- 21:27Speaker 1: it were just there, I'd be like, oh, soup. I
- 21:29Speaker 1: don't have a problem with the eating of soup.
- 21:32Speaker 5: I'll eat soup any time of year. Any type of weather.
- 21:35Speaker 5: I don't care. Do not care.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Soup. It's the way to go. There's your seasonal fall message.
- 21:43Speaker 5: There you go.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Brought to you by soup.
- 21:45Speaker 3: Give it a try.
- 21:48Speaker 4: I also bought earlier this month, for the first time
- 21:51Speaker 4: in several years, I bought a box of Count Chocula.
- 21:56Speaker 5: And, boy, was I disappointed.
- 21:59Speaker 4: And it tastes exactly like I remember it tasting.
- 22:02Speaker 5: I just didn't enjoy it. This time.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Well, I've trained my system.
- 22:07Speaker 4: And there's no chocolate flavor in there.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Well, I don't eat any crap like that anymore. Like,
- 22:11Speaker 1: that was my entire life. And then at one point,
- 22:15Speaker 1: I can't say that I ever grew up, but at
- 22:17Speaker 1: one point I just started eating boring grown-up cereals. And
- 22:20Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, I like these. So that's what I
- 22:22Speaker 1: have every other day of my life. And so the
- 22:25Speaker 1: only time is when Halloween rolls around. And I'm like,
- 22:29Speaker 1: all right, Count Chocula, let's do this. And they only
- 22:33Speaker 1: come in boxes the size of a suitcase. So it's
- 22:36Speaker 1: not like you can have it. Like if I could
- 22:37Speaker 1: have like a bowl, maybe two bowls. Like I'd be good.
- 22:40Speaker 5: They don't come in the snack packs.
- 22:42Speaker 1: It's 700 bowls later. I'm like, oh my God. And
- 22:47Speaker 1: you want to get into, I know this is sacrilege
- 22:49Speaker 1: for hardcore, you know, monster cereal fans. But you know
- 22:53Speaker 1: what my main issue with it is? Not even the
- 22:56Speaker 1: overwhelming flavor of sugarness and the fact that it's not
- 22:59Speaker 1: really chocolate. It just won't stay in the damn bowl.
- 23:03Speaker 1: It won't. What is up with it?
- 23:05Speaker 4: It climbs out sometimes.
- 23:06Speaker 1: If you have old, boring, old people flakes, they just
- 23:10Speaker 1: lay there and you put some milk on them and
- 23:11Speaker 1: they stay in the bowl. These are just constantly trying
- 23:14Speaker 1: to spring out of the side of the bowl.
- 23:16Speaker 4: And I'm like, they slide off the spoon.
- 23:18Speaker 3: What the hell?
- 23:19Speaker 4: I get more on my shirt than I do on
- 23:21Speaker 4: my belly.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Mine's just on the table and the counter when I'm
- 23:24Speaker 1: done pouring. I'm just like this.
- 23:25Speaker 4: Well, I eat mine in my chair while I watch cartoons, but.
- 23:30Speaker 4: That's most food.
- 23:31Speaker 1: That should be every Saturday morning of your life.
- 23:34Speaker 5: Tuesday, Wednesday, whatever.
- 23:36Speaker 1: These days, no. Yeah. So, yeah, that was, and I
- 23:40Speaker 1: did it again this year. I got blueberry, too. And
- 23:43Speaker 1: by the time I was done with both of those, oh,
- 23:46Speaker 1: my God. I was like, can I just go back
- 23:48Speaker 1: to old, boring food?
- 23:51Speaker 5: I may have made it halfway through the Count Chocula.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Yeah. I ate a good portion of it. Eventually, I
- 23:57Speaker 1: think on at least one of them, I was like.
- 24:01Speaker 4: I went in, I was all excited.
- 24:03Speaker 5: I was like, I'm going to have a bowl of
- 24:04Speaker 5: this every night.
- 24:05Speaker 4: And I think I've had two bowls and then just
- 24:08Speaker 4: a handful of dried cereal.
- 24:11Speaker 1: I will say I'm always a fan of the box,
- 24:14Speaker 1: but this year in particular, the box art is amazing.
- 24:16Speaker 5: It's super impressive.
- 24:18Speaker 1: So have you seen this year?
- 24:20Speaker 3: No.
- 24:23Speaker 5: It was.
- 24:25Speaker 4: The monster crew has been redesigned by the Jim Henson Company.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Oh.
- 24:30Speaker 5: As Muppets.
- 24:31Speaker 2: What?
- 24:32Speaker 1: See, it'd be different if they were just a puppet
- 24:34Speaker 1: version of it, but it is actually Jim Henson made,
- 24:37Speaker 1: you know, the company signed on to do it this year.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Oh my God.
- 24:40Speaker 1: They are official Henson creations of Count Chocula and Frankenberry
- 24:46Speaker 1: and Booberry.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Pierce and I have always joked that, you know, when
- 24:52Speaker 3: people have like a koi fish giant back piece tattoo,
- 24:56Speaker 3: that's like the big fish in the middle. about me
- 24:58Speaker 3: getting one, but it's Kermit the Frog.
- 24:59Speaker 1: I don't know why that's a joke. It would be awesome.
- 25:04Speaker 3: And then my Instagram algorithm, I was scrolling through videos
- 25:07Speaker 3: the other day.
- 25:08Speaker 1: What? Exactly. I love you. Look how adorable. Adorable.
- 25:14Speaker 3: It looks so retro.
- 25:15Speaker 4: The Frankenberry and the blueberry are just spectacular. No fruity
- 25:20Speaker 4: yummy mummy or fruit.
- 25:21Speaker 5: Brood, unfortunately.
- 25:23Speaker 1: It's too bad. Another year, I'm sure.
- 25:25Speaker 5: The bastard stepchildren of the.
- 25:29Speaker 1: Or the new kid that nobody cares about anymore.
- 25:31Speaker 5: I'm sorry, I interrupted your Kermit the Frog.
- 25:33Speaker 3: Oh, no, you're fine. Yeah, so then I was scrolling
- 25:34Speaker 3: through Instagram, and... There was a tattoo artist who was
- 25:38Speaker 3: doing a giant back piece of the Muppets Christmas Carol.
- 25:43Speaker 3: And I was like, no way.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Who is this dork and how do I become friends
- 25:48Speaker 1: with him?
- 25:48Speaker 3: I know. So somebody out there is doing it and
- 25:51Speaker 3: good for them. And also, you never have an original
- 25:54Speaker 3: thought in your brain.
- 25:55Speaker 5: I have debated it.
- 25:57Speaker 4: For years on getting a Sweetums tattoo.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Sweetums is badass.
- 26:01Speaker 4: It may happen one day.
- 26:03Speaker 1: That's not a bad idea at all.
- 26:05Speaker 5: I didn't think so.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I mean, that's the thing. I still,
- 26:10Speaker 1: I get a lot of just general ones that come
- 26:12Speaker 1: up on the feed and I'm like, there's just, again,
- 26:17Speaker 1: I'm a weirdo, but like there's the weirdest shit that
- 26:20Speaker 1: people get as a tattoo. Like it's one thing to
- 26:23Speaker 1: just think of it, but then you've now permanently put
- 26:25Speaker 1: it on you. So people get a lot of crazy shit.
- 26:30Speaker 1: More power to you.
- 26:32Speaker 3: I've had to talk Pierce out of getting a few
- 26:34Speaker 3: since we've been together. Well, before that, I mean.
- 26:39Speaker 5: Pierce has several already.
- 26:40Speaker 1: He's got some.
- 26:41Speaker 5: So he's got the attitude of what's one more.
- 26:44Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 26:46Speaker 1: That's how it gets started. Yeah.
- 26:49Speaker 3: He does unfortunately have an accidental white supremacist tattoo. You
- 26:54Speaker 3: know the... Accidental.
- 26:55Speaker 5: He may have shown that to me. I don't remember.
- 26:58Speaker 3: Like the circle game that's like this and then like
- 27:01Speaker 3: if you look down but now it's like a proud
- 27:04Speaker 3: boy or something like hand signal and he has it
- 27:06Speaker 3: tattooed on him which is very unfortunate.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Yeah. I feel like that's got to confuse somebody out there.
- 27:11Speaker 1: I know. She's like, hey, wait a minute.
- 27:14Speaker 4: That one, I feel bad for Pierce in that situation,
- 27:17Speaker 4: but also that one is a little bit easier to
- 27:21Speaker 4: explain than, say, getting a Jerusalem cross on your chest.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:28Speaker 3: That's true.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Yikes.
- 27:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:35Speaker 1: All right. Speaking of weird tattoos, let's get to this
- 27:38Speaker 1: week's movie.
- 27:39Speaker 3: Hey, that is a good time.
- 27:41Speaker 1: I mean, I actually am going to address that somewhere
- 27:44Speaker 1: down the line.
- 27:44Speaker 5: Are there tattoos in this movie?
- 27:46Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 27:47Speaker 5: Did we watch the same movie?
- 27:48Speaker 1: Uh-oh. I questioned it before we started. I said, here's
- 27:52Speaker 1: what I watched. Hopefully, we're all watching the same movie.
- 27:55Speaker 1: It's time for Sofa Theater. This cannot be good.
- 28:07Speaker 3: It's scary, I don't think it's okay.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Yes, we're doing it. It's the end. Say goodbye.
- 28:17Speaker 3: Is this supposed to be scary? Breathe deeply. Close your eyes.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Keep the monsters from creeping in. I just want to.
- 28:53Speaker 3: Get out of.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Here. We just want to leave.
- 29:04Speaker 4: Please don't hurt me.
- 29:25Speaker 1: Do you want to see my face? I'll come back
- 29:33Speaker 1: to haunt you Memories will fall Oh, I remember tattoos
- 29:34Speaker 1: in it now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry. You know.
- 30:01Speaker 5: Oh, man.
- 30:03Speaker 3: That one.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Yes.
- 30:04Speaker 5: Okay, good.
- 30:05Speaker 4: Because I'm like, if I watched that and you guys
- 30:07Speaker 4: watched something else, normally I would think that was very funny,
- 30:12Speaker 4: and I would just go along and review my movie
- 30:14Speaker 4: while you guys review yours.
- 30:15Speaker 5: But in this instance, I would be pissed.
- 30:19Speaker 1: So, this Horror Club Halloween Sofa Theater feature is Haunt.
- 30:24Speaker 1: The year is 2019. The directors, Scott Beck and Brian Woods...
- 30:29Speaker 1: And the plot, according to IMDb, on Halloween, a group
- 30:33Speaker 1: of friends encounter an extreme, I'm using air quotes, haunted
- 30:38Speaker 1: house that promises to feed on their darkest fears. The
- 30:42Speaker 1: night turns deadly as they come to the horrifying realization
- 30:45Speaker 1: that some nightmares are real. First of all, I feel
- 30:49Speaker 1: like that was written by the PR people for this movie. Because... Really?
- 30:54Speaker 1: That's not how I would have described it.
- 30:55Speaker 4: I also feel like the movie hired somebody's cousin to
- 30:58Speaker 4: be their PR.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Well, that too. And also, spoiler alert, we're going to
- 31:02Speaker 1: run the hell out of this.
- 31:04Speaker 4: Did we know going into this that this was made
- 31:06Speaker 4: in Kentucky?
- 31:08Speaker 1: I didn't, but I couldn't remember if you mentioned that.
- 31:13Speaker 4: If I knew that, I forgot until at the end
- 31:15Speaker 4: of the movie where the little, we thank the great
- 31:18Speaker 4: people of the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
- 31:20Speaker 5: And I was like, of course not. Of course this
- 31:22Speaker 5: movie was made in Kentucky.
- 31:23Speaker 1: I was just kind of annoyed the whole time. I
- 31:25Speaker 1: was like, why didn't you guys let me know? Maybe
- 31:27Speaker 1: I wanted to come see you guys make a movie.
- 31:29Speaker 1: I know.
- 31:29Speaker 3: Well, what's annoying is they set it in Illinois, so
- 31:31Speaker 3: all the license plates are Illinois. But they filmed it
- 31:34Speaker 3: in northern Kentucky, like outside of Cincinnati.
- 31:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 31:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:39Speaker 3: Yeah, Kentucky.
- 31:40Speaker 2: Woo!
- 31:40Speaker 1: I don't know. That was right at the point we
- 31:44Speaker 1: had- Kentucky, we have crazy carnival clowns. That was right
- 31:47Speaker 1: at the point we had really good tax breaks, if
- 31:49Speaker 1: I'm remembering. Because there was like, they passed the one,
- 31:52Speaker 1: we had a ton of stuff show up and shoot here.
- 31:54Speaker 1: Because I remember talking to people that were making stuff
- 31:56Speaker 1: at the time. And then like- Three years later, something
- 32:00Speaker 1: got changed, and then we didn't have that amount anymore.
- 32:04Speaker 1: So then something's changed since then, because I remember them
- 32:06Speaker 1: going back to being like, no, no, we're back to
- 32:08Speaker 1: pitching it. Like, it's a thing again.
- 32:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:10Speaker 1: I think it's a different version, but there's still some
- 32:12Speaker 1: sort of good tax breaks, possibly. So every once in
- 32:16Speaker 1: a while, I still see somebody shooting something here. Yeah.
- 32:20Speaker 3: This past, not to be a big old nerd, but
- 32:24Speaker 3: this past legislative session, they passed a big bill about
- 32:28Speaker 3: kentucky film incentive stuff so i bet we'll see more
- 32:31Speaker 3: coming in.
- 32:32Speaker 1: That might have been fixing whatever they screwed.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Up probably yeah but yeah every.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Once in a while they do because actually i don't
- 32:39Speaker 1: think i talked about this on the show but when
- 32:41Speaker 1: i went to they did do the showing here of
- 32:44Speaker 1: um the fog months ago and it had adrian barbeau
- 32:48Speaker 1: there to do a q a afterwards and she was
- 32:50Speaker 1: here shooting a movie Which I was like, I didn't
- 32:53Speaker 1: even know that's... I wondered how they got her to
- 32:55Speaker 1: randomly show up at this show.
- 32:56Speaker 5: She was alive.
- 32:57Speaker 1: So that's uncool. Because by the way, looks amazing. No
- 33:04Speaker 1: complaints there. She looks amazing. And is still out there working.
- 33:08Speaker 4: In my defense, we keep losing all the good actors.
- 33:13Speaker 5: Actor ladies.
- 33:16Speaker 2: Death.
- 33:18Speaker 5: We lost a good one yesterday.
- 33:19Speaker 3: I know. Diane Keaton, for those of you listening in
- 33:24Speaker 3: the future.
- 33:25Speaker 1: Many, many months in the future by the time somebody
- 33:27Speaker 1: gets this together. I did see the post that said,
- 33:31Speaker 1: the wrong Annie Harstar died. I was like, wow. Yeah,
- 33:36Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, I get it, but.
- 33:38Speaker 3: True.
- 33:38Speaker 5: Harsh.
- 33:41Speaker 1: So, anyway.
- 33:43Speaker 4: Yeah, on my streaming services today, it popped up, oh,
- 33:48Speaker 4: here's some movies of Diane Keaton you might like. And
- 33:51Speaker 4: I start flipping through them. Man, she made a lot
- 33:54Speaker 4: with Woody Allen.
- 33:55Speaker 1: I mean, that was most of her early career, really.
- 33:58Speaker 4: And I knew there were several, but I mean, there
- 34:00Speaker 4: were a lot.
- 34:01Speaker 1: That was most of her.
- 34:03Speaker 4: And I was like, you keep shoving these down my throat.
- 34:05Speaker 4: What's going on here, Roku?
- 34:08Speaker 1: Well, the thing I thought was weird was the first,
- 34:10Speaker 1: not even the first one, the first two or three didn't...
- 34:16Speaker 1: I guess that's the game when you are a celebrity
- 34:19Speaker 1: is like, what are they going to pull when you
- 34:21Speaker 1: keel over? What's your go-to? Because they have to throw
- 34:25Speaker 1: something in the headline usually. So this was star of
- 34:31Speaker 1: Father of the Bride and First Wives Club. And I
- 34:34Speaker 1: was just like, really? I was like, those are your...
- 34:36Speaker 1: I mean, I guess everybody's probably seen Father of the Bride.
- 34:39Speaker 1: That was one of those that just like everybody kind
- 34:42Speaker 1: of liked at the time. It was on cable constantly. So,
- 34:45Speaker 1: I can see that one being maybe the most mainstream
- 34:47Speaker 1: thing she was in, but I was like, not Annie Hall?
- 34:49Speaker 1: Like the titular character that she's maybe still best known for?
- 34:53Speaker 3: No, no.
- 34:55Speaker 1: First Wives Club. I was like, all right, whatever.
- 34:58Speaker 5: We're playing it safe these days, Brian.
- 35:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I get it. But even that's old. It's not
- 35:03Speaker 1: like if they went with something from last year that
- 35:06Speaker 1: she had some bit part in. But like, no, just random.
- 35:10Speaker 1: That's always the game. What are they going to quote
- 35:12Speaker 1: you for when you keel over?
- 35:15Speaker 3: But I do need to re-watch First Wives Club.
- 35:17Speaker 5: It's a great movie.
- 35:20Speaker 1: I think I've just had enough of Bette Midler.
- 35:23Speaker 5: Forever. I never thought I'd hear somebody say that.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Hocus Pocus!
- 35:27Speaker 3: And during Hocus Pocus season, Brad.
- 35:30Speaker 1: I was not the Hocus Pocus focus group.
- 35:32Speaker 4: Yeah, same here.
- 35:33Speaker 1: I just avoided it most of the time. Because I didn't...
- 35:37Speaker 1: Most of them I was not thrilled with.
- 35:40Speaker 4: Well, I saw Hocus Pocus in the theater and thought, okay,
- 35:44Speaker 4: I enjoyed it for an hour and a half. But
- 35:47Speaker 4: it did not like embed itself in me like it did.
- 35:50Speaker 1: I think I've said before and assumed I would get
- 35:52Speaker 1: death threats, but I was just like, I didn't, I
- 35:54Speaker 1: was never thrilled with Bette Midler, especially as she got
- 35:57Speaker 1: more into her, like her eighties mode. Like her weird
- 35:59Speaker 1: seventies stuff is just like insane as a performance artist almost.
- 36:04Speaker 1: But like by the time she was making her cheesy
- 36:06Speaker 1: 80 movies, I was like, eh, whatever. And then like Kathy, Jimmy,
- 36:10Speaker 1: Jimmy just gets on my nerves. And then you'd have
- 36:13Speaker 1: to go back far enough. When she was Sandy, I
- 36:16Speaker 1: liked Sarah Jessica Parker. By the time she gets to
- 36:20Speaker 1: her dumb TV show, I'm like, I don't care. So yeah,
- 36:23Speaker 1: none of them were selling it for me.
- 36:24Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 36:27Speaker 3: Shame.
- 36:28Speaker 1: I know.
- 36:28Speaker 3: Disagree.
- 36:30Speaker 1: I know every Halloween kid in the world grew up differently,
- 36:33Speaker 1: but I just didn't care. I was just like, nah.
- 36:37Speaker 4: You know, what I find interesting about this is the
- 36:39Speaker 4: amount of times that I have been over to your
- 36:42Speaker 4: house as an adult and we've watched Nickelodeon together.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Yeah, that seems fine. That's a totally different mode.
- 36:52Speaker 4: It is a totally different mode, but I can see
- 36:54Speaker 4: where one would fall in line with the other.
- 36:59Speaker 1: No, no. My question is, did you watch the sequel?
- 37:04Speaker 3: No, because I heard it wasn't very good.
- 37:07Speaker 1: Again, I steered clear of it. Just like, well, that
- 37:09Speaker 1: means I have to watch the other one first. I
- 37:12Speaker 1: don't think so.
- 37:13Speaker 3: But Doug Jones.
- 37:15Speaker 1: That's the only reason I've been tempted over the years.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Because once I found out, I was like, oh, he
- 37:20Speaker 1: is like a big lovable character in this movie. Now
- 37:24Speaker 1: I know. But do I want to watch the rest
- 37:26Speaker 1: of them? Not really.
- 37:27Speaker 3: Yeah, that's fair.
- 37:30Speaker 1: So I'll just watch like a Doug super cut.
- 37:36Speaker 3: Also fair. Yeah.
- 37:40Speaker 1: All right. Where were we?
- 37:40Speaker 4: We were, oh, we were, yeah, we got way off topic.
- 37:44Speaker 1: Still very Halloween oriented, just not this movie. So, we
- 37:49Speaker 1: start with some pumpkin smashing. I guess very seasonal in
- 37:54Speaker 1: and of itself.
- 37:55Speaker 5: Very angry pumpkin smashing.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Well, from an asshole. Well, true. That is an interesting
- 38:01Speaker 1: way to start this movie. It was just like, oh, okay. So, again,
- 38:08Speaker 1: I was at the time trying to figure out what
- 38:10Speaker 1: that was, and then later I was like, okay, now
- 38:14Speaker 1: I really don't know what to do with this.
- 38:15Speaker 5: What that was was sloppy filmmaking.
- 38:18Speaker 4: I'll get into that more as we go on, but
- 38:21Speaker 4: I was very upset with that character, and not for
- 38:23Speaker 4: the reasons why you're supposed to be upset with him,
- 38:26Speaker 4: but you could have eliminated that character's entire storyline... And
- 38:31Speaker 4: had the exact same movie.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:33Speaker 1: I mean, the closest I was, because then later we
- 38:36Speaker 1: realized she's from that initially. So, I mean, I guess
- 38:41Speaker 1: that is a cycle. And like, so that almost makes
- 38:44Speaker 1: sense is like, she's going to grow up and then inadvertently,
- 38:49Speaker 1: unknowingly seek out that same type of guy.
- 38:51Speaker 4: Well, that fits in with my sloppy filmmaking, which I'll
- 38:54Speaker 4: get into in a little bit.
- 38:56Speaker 1: So that's the best I could come up with. But
- 38:58Speaker 1: initially I was just like, what a weird way to
- 39:00Speaker 1: open this movie.
- 39:02Speaker 5: Yay.
- 39:03Speaker 3: Right. And I've seen this movie a few times. I
- 39:06Speaker 3: think it's like a very fun Halloween movie. I love
- 39:08Speaker 3: anything that's set in like a haunted house. I think
- 39:11Speaker 3: like it has some creative things going on. Gore is
- 39:14Speaker 3: really good.
- 39:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:15Speaker 3: Scary. But I always forget about that plot line, even
- 39:20Speaker 3: though it like starts off. And then every time I'm like, oh.
- 39:23Speaker 1: I forgot about that. Well, also because it disappears most
- 39:27Speaker 1: of the movie.
- 39:27Speaker 3: Yes, exactly.
- 39:28Speaker 1: And then later it's like, oh, wait.
- 39:30Speaker 5: Okay.
- 39:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:32Speaker 3: We don't need it.
- 39:32Speaker 1: I guess we'll wait until we get to the end
- 39:34Speaker 1: to address those weird things. But okay.
- 39:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 39:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 39:39Speaker 3: We don't need it.
- 39:40Speaker 1: I did, as we got into this, I was like,
- 39:42Speaker 1: this is just sort of its own sub-genre now. Between
- 39:46Speaker 1: either the Haunted House version or the festival version we've
- 39:51Speaker 1: now watched like four of these movies yes in like
- 39:54Speaker 1: five years like i love them it's a lot of
- 39:58Speaker 1: these where you get into some sort of haunted attraction
- 40:01Speaker 1: something or other and then midway in you're like wait
- 40:04Speaker 1: is this real are people really getting murdered and then
- 40:08Speaker 1: yes they are so yeah that's its own sub sub
- 40:11Speaker 1: genre now are you all haunted house people we've been
- 40:16Speaker 1: to one Somebody mentioned that earlier this year because they
- 40:19Speaker 1: were going to go to one of the ones around here.
- 40:21Speaker 1: And I went, I'm like, I've I in general, obviously,
- 40:26Speaker 1: I'm a whore dork enough that I should care about it.
- 40:29Speaker 1: So I like the general vibe of it. My thing
- 40:33Speaker 1: is they're always so expensive.
- 40:35Speaker 5: They're hella expensive.
- 40:37Speaker 1: And like I've been to most of the main one.
- 40:39Speaker 1: I'm sure there are new ones now. I haven't because
- 40:41Speaker 1: I haven't been in years now, but. for a while
- 40:43Speaker 1: there were a main set of like five or six.
- 40:45Speaker 1: And like, I, at some point over the years been
- 40:47Speaker 1: to all those. So I'm like, well, I've kind of
- 40:49Speaker 1: seen them. I mean, yes, they'll change up some of
- 40:52Speaker 1: the individual themes of the year, newer monster that's in
- 40:56Speaker 1: a movie or something. But I was like, otherwise I've
- 40:58Speaker 1: kind of seen what they do and they're really expensive
- 41:00Speaker 1: and usually nobody else wants to go. So it's just like, eh,
- 41:03Speaker 1: I ended up not going most of the time.
- 41:05Speaker 4: Well, and the line is forever long.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:08Speaker 4: The last one I went to, we were in line,
- 41:11Speaker 4: I want to say four and a half hours. And
- 41:13Speaker 4: that was just in the outside part of the line.
- 41:16Speaker 4: I was in line so long I could watch the
- 41:19Speaker 4: food truck that I was promised I was going to
- 41:22Speaker 4: get to have after the haunted house. I watched them
- 41:26Speaker 4: serve customers and then close for the evening. So I
- 41:29Speaker 4: was sad walking into the haunted house.
- 41:32Speaker 5: Because it smelled so good. It was tacos of some sort.
- 41:34Speaker 3: Oh, that's sad.
- 41:35Speaker 5: It was sad.
- 41:36Speaker 3: That's the real horror.
- 41:37Speaker 1: Yeah, that is the sad part of that story.
- 41:40Speaker 4: And then I was in and out of the house
- 41:42Speaker 4: in 15 minutes after waiting for God.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Knows how long. Yeah, exactly.
- 41:45Speaker 3: Good Lord. Yeah, I love horror movies and spooky books
- 41:49Speaker 3: and all that stuff. I have never done a haunted house.
- 41:52Speaker 3: I don't like the idea of some people jumping out
- 41:54Speaker 3: at me. I don't need it.
- 41:56Speaker 5: Well, now we know next year's on location.
- 41:58Speaker 1: We're definitely going to have to be recording live inside whatever.
- 42:03Speaker 1: I was going to say one that I think closed
- 42:04Speaker 1: like 70 years ago, so I won't say.
- 42:09Speaker 4: I did work at one when I was in college,
- 42:12Speaker 4: and it was cool for the first week.
- 42:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:15Speaker 5: And then it was just a lot of, you know,
- 42:18Speaker 5: jumping out.
- 42:20Speaker 1: Waiting to get hit in the face.
- 42:22Speaker 4: Well threatened with getting hit in the face a lot.
- 42:24Speaker 1: Exactly. As you should.
- 42:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 42:27Speaker 1: Because people should stop jumping out at other people.
- 42:30Speaker 3: Well, yeah. That's why I don't want to do it.
- 42:32Speaker 1: This is also what I say as I watch the
- 42:34Speaker 1: never-ending YouTube videos that pop up. And I'm just like, yeah,
- 42:38Speaker 1: quit trying to scare whoever you live with. Like, just
- 42:41Speaker 1: cut it out. Because they always go badly. Somebody gets
- 42:44Speaker 1: punched in the face or knocks over a fish tank. Or, like,
- 42:46Speaker 1: it's the dumbest series of events that I'm just like, yeah,
- 42:50Speaker 1: stop doing that shit. Just quit being an asshole.
- 42:52Speaker 5: Unplug Grandma's life support.
- 42:54Speaker 1: Yeah. It's hilarious. Like.
- 42:56Speaker 3: Just stop.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Just cut it out.
- 42:58Speaker 4: I think in addition to a haunted house next year,
- 43:01Speaker 4: we should also go to a hell house.
- 43:03Speaker 5: Which I don't know if you're familiar with those either.
- 43:05Speaker 3: Are those like the church ones? Those are the church ones.
- 43:07Speaker 1: That would be the one that really disturbs you.
- 43:10Speaker 4: I have been watching YouTube videos of those this past week.
- 43:14Speaker 4: And some of them are just ridiculously bad. And some
- 43:17Speaker 4: of them are downright frightening.
- 43:19Speaker 5: But all of them are dumb.
- 43:20Speaker 1: I feel like we'd get in trouble for heckling. Yeah.
- 43:25Speaker 3: I think what if I showed up and just said,
- 43:26Speaker 3: I'm a woman with a job.
- 43:28Speaker 4: I'm a woman with a job and an interracial marriage.
- 43:32Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, that too.
- 43:33Speaker 5: God.
- 43:34Speaker 3: Childless cat lady.
- 43:35Speaker 1: You're going to mess up these people. I voted. Oh, God.
- 43:41Speaker 5: I drive a car.
- 43:44Speaker 3: And I have a bank account.
- 43:45Speaker 1: Oh, my. This is out of control. I know.
- 43:49Speaker 3: Scary.
- 43:50Speaker 1: I'm going to have to have a talk with Pierce.
- 43:55Speaker 3: Well, he, yeah, I definitely listened to him and yeah,
- 43:59Speaker 3: let him make my decision.
- 44:02Speaker 1: Actually, that's not even what I was saying, but that's funny.
- 44:08Speaker 3: Anyway, back to the.
- 44:11Speaker 1: Anyway, going to parties and stuff.
- 44:13Speaker 5: We miss you, Pierce, wherever you are.
- 44:14Speaker 3: I saw him pull out earlier.
- 44:19Speaker 1: He waved and said words. It was fun.
- 44:21Speaker 3: Yeah. He's probably going to buy Magic the Gathering cards.
- 44:24Speaker 1: What a nerd.
- 44:25Speaker 3: Yeah, I know.
- 44:29Speaker 1: So, parties. I don't want to go to them. No. And...
- 44:35Speaker 1: he said just me or backwards hat boy just looked
- 44:37Speaker 1: like the douchiest guy like oh it took me the
- 44:40Speaker 1: whole movie to be like all right i guess he's
- 44:42Speaker 1: okay but like 30 seconds yeah from the second i
- 44:45Speaker 1: was like oh no i don't like this.
- 44:46Speaker 4: Guy i was like yeah he's gonna unalive this girl
- 44:49Speaker 4: in like 20 minutes.
- 44:50Speaker 1: Like he's got date rape vibes man i don't like
- 44:53Speaker 1: this guy like this like you just got away from
- 44:56Speaker 1: this asshole for a night and now you're talking to
- 44:59Speaker 1: this guy no yeah So, yeah, I didn't like that
- 45:02Speaker 1: at all. But eventually I was like, all right, I
- 45:06Speaker 1: guess he's all right. Shit.
- 45:08Speaker 5: Of the two male characters, he's the least annoying.
- 45:13Speaker 1: I guess. I mean, the other ones, at least I
- 45:16Speaker 1: feel like I knew what I was getting with the
- 45:18Speaker 1: other guy. This guy seemed duplicitous. I didn't like that.
- 45:22Speaker 1: But the other guy, I'm like, no, that guy's just
- 45:23Speaker 1: an asshole. But at least you know where you stand
- 45:25Speaker 1: with him. Ugh. So, yeah, that party, I would have
- 45:31Speaker 1: loved to. Yeah.
- 45:33Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 45:35Speaker 4: You know, yeah, when, jumping ahead a little bit, this
- 45:40Speaker 4: was advertised as an extreme haunted house.
- 45:44Speaker 1: I mean, it was very extreme by the end.
- 45:45Speaker 4: Well, there are extreme things that happen, but overall it
- 45:48Speaker 4: was kind of a lame, you know, I mean, the, yeah, pick.
- 45:53Speaker 5: Which coffin thing. takes you the rest of the way
- 45:55Speaker 5: was kind of cool.
- 45:56Speaker 1: I mean if people weren't getting murdered i guess it
- 45:59Speaker 1: would have been like a normal yeah like again that's
- 46:02Speaker 1: why i like i go and i'm like i appreciate
- 46:04Speaker 1: the effort they put in for all these things but
- 46:06Speaker 1: i'm always just like yeah cool like i don't know
- 46:08Speaker 1: it's like i'm not running through screaming and like just
- 46:10Speaker 1: like oh that's kind of gross all right like i
- 46:13Speaker 1: don't know it's just like a different way to process
- 46:16Speaker 1: it i guess but i'm always just like well it
- 46:19Speaker 1: looks like it took them a long time to do
- 46:21Speaker 1: that like Another reason I don't think I go to these.
- 46:24Speaker 1: I'm just not responding normally. I'm like, yeah, yeah, look
- 46:27Speaker 1: at all the effort you put into this. That seems
- 46:30Speaker 1: like a lot of work. Anyway, next room. So yeah,
- 46:35Speaker 1: I mean, I guess, I feel like that's where I
- 46:37Speaker 1: could feel the very realistic making of the movie. It's
- 46:41Speaker 1: just like, they had an empty, wasn't it like an
- 46:44Speaker 1: empty dairy farm or something? Like a big giant building
- 46:47Speaker 1: that they had. And like, because I mean, the walls
- 46:49Speaker 1: are pretty much just pallets.
- 46:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 46:51Speaker 1: For most of the building it's like just concrete walls
- 46:54Speaker 1: and floors pallets screwed to the wall and then whatever
- 46:58Speaker 1: gimmicky thing they had in that room so i was
- 47:00Speaker 1: just like that way i'm like yeah you could almost
- 47:03Speaker 1: afford to do this and like especially when you don't
- 47:05Speaker 1: have to see anything once you get there like everything
- 47:08Speaker 1: is self-contained it's dark outside so you don't have to
- 47:10Speaker 1: see anything off in the distance everything else is in
- 47:13Speaker 1: this building so i'm like i feel like i see
- 47:15Speaker 1: the budget and i'm not complaining i think it looked
- 47:17Speaker 1: pretty good yeah as far as you know budget wise
- 47:19Speaker 1: for I'm assuming a pretty limited budget. They made it
- 47:22Speaker 1: look good, but yeah. Would I have been impressed with
- 47:25Speaker 1: the haunted house minus the murders? Eh, it would have
- 47:27Speaker 1: been fine, I guess. Yeah. Those wood coffins were pretty cool. Like,
- 47:30Speaker 1: if I could take one home. But other than that, yeah.
- 47:35Speaker 1: I kind of agree. Would you be weirded out when
- 47:41Speaker 1: that sign magically popped up? Oh, yes.
- 47:45Speaker 5: Yes.
- 47:45Speaker 1: Because that was a little weird as they didn't really
- 47:47Speaker 1: seem to know where the hell they were going. And
- 47:49Speaker 1: then suddenly, a magical sign appears. Spooky.
- 47:55Speaker 4: Well, a couple of things about that. Number one, the
- 47:59Speaker 4: sign appears out of nowhere. They've already been sitting there for...
- 48:04Speaker 4: Could be 20 minutes, could be an hour. I wasn't
- 48:06Speaker 4: really paying attention a whole lot to this movie at
- 48:08Speaker 4: that point. Sign all of a sudden pops up. You
- 48:12Speaker 4: go up this abandoned road.
- 48:14Speaker 5: And then.
- 48:15Speaker 4: The key that I've decided which haunted house to avoid
- 48:19Speaker 4: is the one where you don't.
- 48:21Speaker 5: See people coming out.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 48:24Speaker 4: If you see people milling around out front, that's one thing.
- 48:28Speaker 4: But if you don't see anybody coming back out, you
- 48:30Speaker 4: should be like, hmm, maybe this is not for us.
- 48:33Speaker 1: If I were them, I would just be concerned because
- 48:35Speaker 1: as you stated in your story there, I mean, there
- 48:39Speaker 1: was no line there. They pulled up, there was like
- 48:42Speaker 1: six cars in the parking lot, and I'm assuming that
- 48:44Speaker 1: was all of them working inside. I was like, I
- 48:47Speaker 1: feel like I'd be a little more concerned that no
- 48:49Speaker 1: one is here.
- 48:50Speaker 4: Well, I thought that they showed like two people standing
- 48:53Speaker 4: out front when they pulled in. But I could have
- 48:55Speaker 4: been in the midst.
- 48:56Speaker 5: Of a few people.
- 48:56Speaker 1: Just other people that worked there on break.
- 48:58Speaker 3: Yeah, well, they hear the scream inside. So I presume
- 49:03Speaker 3: that was the group before them. But then... Given how
- 49:07Speaker 3: long it takes for them to go through this group
- 49:10Speaker 3: that we're with.
- 49:12Speaker 1: That was my thought midway through. I was like, so
- 49:14Speaker 1: is this like this every time? Or is this like
- 49:16Speaker 1: a one-off that's going weird for them?
- 49:19Speaker 3: Because yeah and how do they control that nobody else
- 49:21Speaker 3: showed up and it's like ready to go next.
- 49:23Speaker 4: Well clearly i mean this was well what i will
- 49:26Speaker 4: say from working at the haunted house um you know
- 49:30Speaker 4: it's counterintuitive but halloween night is a dead night yeah
- 49:34Speaker 4: people people are out with their kids parties you know
- 49:37Speaker 4: You'll get a couple people show up real late when
- 49:40Speaker 4: all the other fun stuff's done. But for the most part,
- 49:43Speaker 4: you're literally just standing around listening to the theme from
- 49:49Speaker 4: Halloween on.
- 49:49Speaker 5: A loop for like the thousandth time. So that, because
- 49:53Speaker 5: I did think about that too.
- 49:54Speaker 4: I was like, man, they're not hustling people through. So
- 49:59Speaker 4: I guess they were just having an off night and
- 50:00Speaker 4: they were taking their time. They were enjoying their craft.
- 50:03Speaker 1: I would think maybe this was how you get the
- 50:06Speaker 1: line going. Except later we saw outside again and there
- 50:09Speaker 1: wasn't one. But I was like, if everyone takes an
- 50:12Speaker 1: hour and a half for all of this to go on,
- 50:14Speaker 1: that line would build up pretty good. And then they'd
- 50:16Speaker 1: seem super cool and popular.
- 50:17Speaker 3: Oh, that's true.
- 50:18Speaker 1: Oh, man, look at this line. That's like four and
- 50:20Speaker 1: a half hours. This must be a great haunted house. No,
- 50:24Speaker 1: they're just murdering people. It takes a while, you know.
- 50:26Speaker 4: So.
- 50:31Speaker 1: would you want to go into one that has a
- 50:33Speaker 1: waiver signing situation? You already said you don't want to
- 50:37Speaker 1: go anyway.
- 50:39Speaker 2: No.
- 50:40Speaker 3: No signing of waivers. You're not taking my phone.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Mostly I just don't trust people with your phone because
- 50:45Speaker 1: they're going to steal it.
- 50:47Speaker 3: Yeah, no. None of that.
- 50:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 50:50Speaker 4: I would have been out on that one.
- 50:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 50:53Speaker 4: Every now and then I read about those, the real extreme.
- 50:56Speaker 1: That you have to sign a waiver.
- 50:57Speaker 4: Where they throw dirt at people and some people have
- 51:01Speaker 4: been what I would consider to be sexually assaulted by
- 51:05Speaker 4: the people working there.
- 51:06Speaker 5: And they have to sign all sorts of waivers. And
- 51:08Speaker 5: I'm like, no, I'm going to nope out on that one, guys.
- 51:11Speaker 1: That doesn't seem fun at all. Thanks, bud. Right.
- 51:14Speaker 3: You want me to pay you to do this?
- 51:17Speaker 1: No. I don't like that at all.
- 51:20Speaker 5: And there was no pay.
- 51:21Speaker 4: I would have been also curious as to why they
- 51:25Speaker 4: weren't charging me at this particular haunted house.
- 51:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess that never really came into play, did it?
- 51:31Speaker 1: They just sort of... Well, again, if the person running
- 51:34Speaker 1: it doesn't speak, I guess there's not a whole lot
- 51:36Speaker 1: of questions you can have clarified.
- 51:39Speaker 4: Nothing is free anymore. And people are so used to going, okay,
- 51:43Speaker 4: but how much is it?
- 51:45Speaker 1: There'd be like a half hour of the... But no, really,
- 51:48Speaker 1: what are we... No, seriously. Can I Venmo you?
- 51:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:50Speaker 1: And he just stands there looking at them, and.
- 51:52Speaker 3: You're like, Like, are you going to record me and
- 51:55Speaker 3: put it on your social media?
- 51:57Speaker 1: Probably. That's in the waiver, don't worry. Yeah.
- 51:59Speaker 4: And that would be another thing that I would be
- 52:02Speaker 4: concerned about, is if they didn't have a clause about
- 52:04Speaker 4: social media on there.
- 52:06Speaker 1: Because I should be running my, you know, phone through
- 52:10Speaker 1: the whole thing, streaming it out the whole way. I
- 52:13Speaker 1: can't do that when you take my phone away.
- 52:15Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 52:17Speaker 1: What are my followers going to think? They can't experience
- 52:20Speaker 1: this with me. No. Otherwise, what do we think of
- 52:26Speaker 1: our basic crew? I mean, we kind of have... We
- 52:29Speaker 1: don't go into anyone, really. Like, we barely get a
- 52:33Speaker 1: little on our lead girl. And everybody else is like nothing, really.
- 52:37Speaker 4: Well, I'll start with the sloppy filmmaking. And I knew, like,
- 52:41Speaker 4: when they're all sitting around and the girl's, like, bleeding
- 52:44Speaker 4: out of her arm or whatever.
- 52:46Speaker 5: And our, I guess, lead?
- 52:49Speaker 1: I mean, she's definitely a final girl.
- 52:51Speaker 5: She's like... She's like, I grew up in a haunted house.
- 52:54Speaker 5: And I thought, oh, here's where.
- 52:55Speaker 4: We cram all the exposition into one scene. And again,
- 53:03Speaker 4: this is talking about real world stuff. If somebody would
- 53:06Speaker 4: have said that, I'd have been like, dude, shut up.
- 53:07Speaker 4: We need to get out of here.
- 53:08Speaker 1: I'll listen to.
- 53:09Speaker 4: Your sad story later. I'm sorry your dad sniffed glue
- 53:17Speaker 4: while you watched or whatever.
- 53:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:20Speaker 1: I mean, that airplane clue is pretty good stuff.
- 53:23Speaker 5: I didn't want to go too overboard.
- 53:26Speaker 1: Well, I mean, we already had like a weird red
- 53:29Speaker 1: flag of her at the beginning. Be like, nope, had
- 53:32Speaker 1: a great childhood. My family was great. I was like, okay,
- 53:35Speaker 1: you're overselling this. Something obviously was not so great.
- 53:39Speaker 5: You know, are your parents dead? Are they not dead?
- 53:42Speaker 5: Do you just not speak to them? Do you love them?
- 53:44Speaker 5: Make up your mind.
- 53:46Speaker 4: Because they keep cramming that down our throats too.
- 53:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 53:49Speaker 5: And she keeps changing answers. Well, I don't talk to
- 53:52Speaker 5: my parents either.
- 53:53Speaker 3: Actually, mine are dead.
- 53:54Speaker 1: Oh. No, they're not dead.
- 53:58Speaker 5: Or maybe one's dead.
- 53:59Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, I don't know. We never really
- 54:01Speaker 1: know what happens down that road. No.
- 54:04Speaker 5: Maybe they're both dead.
- 54:04Speaker 1: I still don't... But hadn't she been gone for like
- 54:07Speaker 1: four years? Which she didn't seem that old. She didn't
- 54:11Speaker 1: seem like it was four years of college. Didn't she
- 54:14Speaker 1: seem like a sophomore or something? She didn't seem like
- 54:17Speaker 1: the entire run of her schooling because she didn't seem
- 54:19Speaker 1: that old.
- 54:21Speaker 3: Well, then now I'm thinking about the part at the end.
- 54:24Speaker 3: We'll talk about that later.
- 54:25Speaker 1: I was like, did she just run away and then
- 54:29Speaker 1: she was living on the street and decided to go
- 54:31Speaker 1: to college? Is that how that works? I don't think so.
- 54:33Speaker 3: Was she living with Bailey?
- 54:36Speaker 4: I feel like I should point out something at this point.
- 54:40Speaker 4: I have learned from experience that any movie that is
- 54:44Speaker 4: made in any way by the person who produced this movie,
- 54:49Speaker 4: if I go in with zero expectations, I might enjoy
- 54:52Speaker 4: myself for a little bit.
- 54:54Speaker 5: So that's what happened last.
- 54:56Speaker 3: Night when I watched it.
- 54:58Speaker 5: I enjoyed it a little bit.
- 55:00Speaker 1: I will say overall I enjoyed it. I think I
- 55:03Speaker 1: went back to watch some of the other stuff again
- 55:06Speaker 1: to try to clarify because there is some gray area
- 55:09Speaker 1: in the... I mean, I guess on purpose. I feel
- 55:12Speaker 1: like they almost don't explain things maybe in a good
- 55:15Speaker 1: way really they don't over explain things with what's going
- 55:18Speaker 1: on but I think when I went back through I
- 55:21Speaker 1: did notice a little more that seemed like they did
- 55:24Speaker 1: take time to do specific things so there are aspects
- 55:27Speaker 1: of it I think were relatively impressive um yeah I
- 55:31Speaker 1: mean otherwise it was just kind of a fun Halloween
- 55:34Speaker 1: movie I don't think I put too much into it
- 55:37Speaker 1: going in I just kind of watched it through and
- 55:40Speaker 1: didn't think that much of it the first time but
- 55:43Speaker 1: The more I went into it, I was like, all right,
- 55:44Speaker 1: they've done this and this part's pretty good. So there
- 55:47Speaker 1: are aspects that are pretty well done.
- 55:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I had fun with it.
- 55:52Speaker 5: I really did.
- 55:53Speaker 4: I also had fun yelling at it as it went on,
- 55:57Speaker 4: you know, towards the end.
- 55:58Speaker 1: Of the movie. Mine are just the normal basic things
- 56:02Speaker 1: that don't make any sense. Why would you have cat
- 56:04Speaker 1: ears and then give away your cat ears?
- 56:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 56:08Speaker 1: Just so later we can be like, we've already been
- 56:10Speaker 1: here because there's the cat ears.
- 56:13Speaker 5: I guess.
- 56:13Speaker 1: I don't know. Even that barely makes sense. Because we
- 56:17Speaker 1: knew he was going backtracking the whole way. That was
- 56:20Speaker 1: the whole point of it. So we knew we'd already
- 56:22Speaker 1: been there. So we didn't really need the cat ears thing.
- 56:26Speaker 4: Yeah, and the big jumping out skeleton was kind of
- 56:30Speaker 4: an easy thing to remember.
- 56:31Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, he's sideways in the middle of the hallway. Like, yeah,
- 56:34Speaker 1: I think we would have remembered that. So why would
- 56:37Speaker 1: you give away your cat?
- 56:38Speaker 4: It's not like, oh, there's that crack on that second
- 56:41Speaker 4: floorboard from the door.
- 56:42Speaker 1: You know, right over there to the left. I don't know.
- 56:48Speaker 1: Those are the kind of minor things that I'm like,
- 56:50Speaker 1: but no, why would you do that? So anything before
- 56:55Speaker 1: we get to the real torture? Because that's where it
- 56:59Speaker 1: takes the turn of like, all right, first we watch
- 57:02Speaker 1: them burn a stranger girl's face. And then pretty quickly
- 57:05Speaker 1: we end up with one of their own. I think
- 57:08Speaker 1: it's a little more than that.
- 57:10Speaker 4: I will say I couldn't tell the difference between what
- 57:12Speaker 4: the safe and the not safe path was in the maze.
- 57:16Speaker 1: I think they were just making fun of it. Yeah.
- 57:19Speaker 1: Because it was pretty much the same. Just different.
- 57:22Speaker 4: One had cool funhouse mirrors and the other one had
- 57:26Speaker 4: fake guts.
- 57:28Speaker 1: Yeah. That was a weird game too.
- 57:33Speaker 3: Yeah, noodles, grapes, or razor blades.
- 57:36Speaker 1: Which again, that's the old time party favor games, but
- 57:41Speaker 1: I don't want to play it there. I didn't want
- 57:43Speaker 1: to play it, you know, as a kid. No. I
- 57:44Speaker 1: don't want to play it in a weird stranger place
- 57:47Speaker 1: with a bunch of strangers that also you have no
- 57:49Speaker 1: idea where you're shoving your arm into. And the dude
- 57:52Speaker 1: ate the grape. Yeah, that was another one of those moments.
- 57:55Speaker 1: I was like, did you just, no.
- 57:57Speaker 4: Regardless of, even at that point, you know, yeah, you
- 58:00Speaker 4: don't know anything about this spoopy haunted house you're in
- 58:03Speaker 4: but how many other people have touched those grapes yeah
- 58:06Speaker 4: what were they else were they touching before first of
- 58:08Speaker 4: all you don't know where that grape's been second of
- 58:11Speaker 4: all how many people have touched it before you so
- 58:13Speaker 4: many many reasons where they put it to not.
- 58:17Speaker 1: Eat a grape random stranger grapes don't eat them there's
- 58:20Speaker 1: your there's your psa for.
- 58:21Speaker 3: This there was also before we got to the actually
- 58:25Speaker 3: um torture or whatever, one of the guys said, the
- 58:30Speaker 3: only thing that would scare Bailey is if they defunded
- 58:33Speaker 3: Planned Parenthood. And then I paused and went, ha!
- 58:37Speaker 1: Joke's on you, Bailey!
- 58:40Speaker 3: That would be so crazy!
- 58:42Speaker 1: I mean... What a nightmare! I guess the only thing
- 58:45Speaker 1: to take away is she doesn't have to worry about
- 58:48Speaker 1: that as it turns out.
- 58:50Speaker 3: Face your fears, Bailey!
- 58:51Speaker 1: You're not going to have to have that situation come up, Bailey.
- 58:55Speaker 3: It's all happening. So that was fun.
- 58:58Speaker 1: She's dead, so she didn't have to worry.
- 58:59Speaker 3: Oh, well, lucky her.
- 59:00Speaker 1: That was my voice. She doesn't have to worry about
- 59:02Speaker 1: it anymore.
- 59:03Speaker 3: Lucky you, those who.
- 59:05Speaker 1: Live here is the horror so so since you said
- 59:11Speaker 1: you definitely want to do this haunted house how good
- 59:14Speaker 1: are you on the tunnel crawling bad because that's another
- 59:20Speaker 1: one at that point i'm just like is that did
- 59:22Speaker 1: i sign on for tunnel crawling i don't know that
- 59:25Speaker 1: seems like like when you sign on for spelunking or
- 59:29Speaker 1: something like that.
- 59:29Speaker 4: Should be a warning like caution this attraction contains strobe
- 59:33Speaker 4: lights and tunnel crawling.
- 59:35Speaker 1: I need to know if i'm gonna have to crawl
- 59:36Speaker 1: around in.
- 59:37Speaker 4: A tunnel and bags of fluid that just leak.
- 59:40Speaker 1: Yeah yeah seemingly for no reason but eventually i guess
- 59:44Speaker 1: that was the reason i don't know i was just
- 59:47Speaker 1: like what is this the is this the kramer oil
- 59:51Speaker 1: ball idea what is he making up there it's like
- 59:54Speaker 1: what is this nonsense.
- 59:55Speaker 3: Just some bags of oil and.
- 59:57Speaker 1: Eventually i guess that's why they were there i don't
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: know it seems pretty dumb so yeah i think that's
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: it at that point we just get into torture and
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: murder so i do feel like they sold pretty well
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: once we get to that as much as i had
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: issues with even backwards hat boy He was pretty good.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: I went back watching that today. I was like, he's
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: pretty good in this scene. They're all pretty shaken up,
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: almost believably, but yet don't know what the hell to
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: do at that point. Okay, now we already couldn't get out.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: Now we can't get out and we just watched him
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: murder our friends. Now what do we do?
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: And I think it took him all of, what, 30
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: seconds to lose the key?
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: Well, it was spooky.
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I agree.
- 1:00:44Speaker 5: It was very spooky.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: That part with the ghosts was one of the better, like.
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: Just visually represented.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: It was cool. And then the way that they set
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: it up, where every time it switched the angle, they
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: would be there, they wouldn't be there. They popped up
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: out of nowhere. Like, so that whole scene was pretty impressive.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: So I guess if you were going to drop it,
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: that would be the place.
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: You'd drop it.
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: Well, before that, we have the witch and poor Mallory part.
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: Which I do think is actually scary. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: And again, looked good. That was the one watching the
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: pitchfork go in. I was just like, oh, that's pretty good.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: As gore goes, that was not bad.
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: Like, oh no. Oh yeah, okay. Then we get ghost guy.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: That's what I at least wanted to address. The old
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: school costumes for their people were pretty cool. Yeah. Specifically
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: the ghost. Like the ghost may be the most impressive one.
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: And at first I was just like, eh, it's kind
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: of weird. And then I was like, no, that's pretty creepy.
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: It's pretty creepy. So I did like, and that's one
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: of those when then you start asking like, so is that? Like,
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: each of their things that come up seem like they're
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: not the way it normally should go. So I'm like,
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: so does he always come out and get involved? Is
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: he always, oh, somebody got hurt, let me help you. Like,
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: is that always part of it? Or was this a
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: weird one-off for them?
- 1:02:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: And the same thing once she was like, okay, but
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: I want your keys. Then I'm like, so that changes
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: everything for the whole rest of the night. So I'm like,
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: does somebody always get the keys? Like, is that part
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: of the game every time? Or is this now, okay, everybody,
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: you know, get on the radio. Let everybody know. She's
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: going to be able to open and close whatever lock
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: she wants. So we have to change the way we
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: plan this attack. So I don't know. That was one
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: of those. I was like, how much do these things
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: factor in every time?
- 1:02:40Speaker 5: Yeah. That's a good question.
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: Or I wasn't even sure if there's an every time.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: I was like, as we got into it, I was like,
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: is this just for them? Like, especially when we kind
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: of thought the other dude was involved. I was like,
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: is this something weird that he set up just to
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: mess with his girlfriend that he wants to beat the
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: hell out of?
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: That would be so elaborate. And murder her friends.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: And I was just like, I mean, that's pretty elaborate, dude. But,
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: you know, you aren't assholes.
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: Yeah, why not? So they at least set that up.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: That'll teach her, but in a fun holiday way. Yeah.
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: She'll learn her lesson with pumpkins.
- 1:03:16Speaker 5: Everybody likes a good scare.
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: Yeah. And murder her friends, you know.
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: Nelson agrees.
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: So yeah, that's one of those that at that point,
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: I'm like, how much of this is, because you didn't
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: trust him even from the, oh, somebody's hurt. And like, okay, yeah.
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: So you didn't trust him, but then at the same time,
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: the whole way through, like, so how much of this
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: is part of the scripted plan and how much of
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: this is like just happening and you're just kind of
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: rolling with it. So I don't know. Cause then later
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: we get somebody that breaks character and I think that
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: was real, I guess.
- 1:03:54Speaker 5: I assume it.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: I mean, he didn't have long enough to make good
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: one way or the other. So it seemed real enough.
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: And I would assume that's also why they took him out.
- 1:04:04Speaker 4: We never figured out what they were going to give him.
- 1:04:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: He would have gotten his mask.
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: Free tattoos.
- 1:04:12Speaker 5: I guess.
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: Do we want to jump to that? Or wait until
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: we get further along? I don't know. The whole plan,
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: if there is one. Because that was my thing when
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: I watched the first time through. But at the end,
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: I was just like, what? Why are they? What? Why?
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: It definitely is one where you have to, you can't
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: be thinking about that.
- 1:04:36Speaker 5: Yeah, the question why did come up a lot. But
- 1:04:40Speaker 5: then I would stop it. I wouldn't be like, why
- 1:04:42Speaker 5: are they doing that? It was just, what?
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: You know what?
- 1:04:44Speaker 5: Never mind.
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: Yeah. But it looks cool.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: Well, that was my thing because I was like, well,
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: it's so well executed once they get into this that
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: it's like, okay, it's cool that they're this committed to
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: it and they're this organized about some of these things
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: that they're doing. But then I was like, but shouldn't
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: all that be a pretty big why? Yeah. For it
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: to be, and then we don't really get the answer exactly,
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: which I couldn't decide how I felt about that.
- 1:05:08Speaker 5: I don't think I want to know.
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: In a way, I was like, if it was really
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: elaborate and a big, long scene of them explaining it,
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: I'm just like, oh, God.
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: So, like, maybe I don't want that. But I wouldn't
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: want to not know at all, because that would make
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: no sense. So we just got just enough of a
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: tease of, so maybe it's something like this.
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: Anyway. So that's pretty much all we got. Mm-hmm.
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: I do always get creeped out by the scene where
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: Mitch takes his, when he's like, do you really want
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: to see my face? And he has it like three times.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: It's cool. He's like, do you still want to see
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: my face? I was like, Oh, that's, that's pretty creepy.
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: I don't. I don't think I do.
- 1:05:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: Especially with the mask. Like again, the mask gets creepier
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: the more you look at it the whole time. I'm like, Hey,
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: that's a pretty. So I think his crossed over. I'm like,
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: I think he's just doing like extreme plastic surgery. Like,
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: Mitch had some weird stuff going on there. Not that
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: all of them didn't, but... Yeah.
- 1:06:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: And then the hammer.
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: Yeah, that seemed like a really inefficient way to kill
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: a person with a hammer, but.
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: You gotta take their face off. Gotta see what's going
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: on underneath their mask.
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: Yeah. Scary.
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: I did think that once we at least saw a
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: few of them in the again, trying to piece together
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: if that's part of it, I was like, if you
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: wanted to, you could make that almost like super old
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: school 80s take on it of like, so here's these
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: clean cut kids and they come in and these tattooed
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: weirdos with their piercings and implants and whatever else they're
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: getting done with the shit in their face. What do
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: they do? They just kill these poor innocent kids. So
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, I mean, that's, That's definitely what's
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: presented here if you want to look at it from
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: that perspective. So, yeah, tattooed weirdos. That's what'll get you
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: in trouble.
- 1:07:05Speaker 5: Every time. Yep.
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: So how about the crawl back through the tunnel plan?
- 1:07:12Speaker 5: I think that was a bad floor plan.
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: It is a plan. I don't know that it's a
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: good plan, but... Because there was still a way through.
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: Because even that was at their point of like, we'll
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: just go a little further and we'll try to get this.
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: So they could have kept going. Instead, they went with
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: the crawl back through plan, which I guess.
- 1:07:34Speaker 4: Yeah, dude was even like, you're most of the way through.
- 1:07:37Speaker 5: You're further from the beginning than you are in the end.
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: I don't know how much I trust him, but at
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: the same time, they'd been going for a while, so
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: that's probably true.
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: Or just like, let's open the trap door and then
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: I'll go through that way. That takes us out the.
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: I guess there is no good plan. That's the takeaway.
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: The good plan would be not to keep throwing away
- 1:08:01Speaker 3: your weapons. He had the nail gun. How many nails
- 1:08:07Speaker 3: are in a nail gun? A shit ton.
- 1:08:09Speaker 5: Where did he just find a nail gun?
- 1:08:11Speaker 3: But then he doesn't have it anymore. I know. Did
- 1:08:14Speaker 3: you put that down and left it?
- 1:08:17Speaker 4: Well, it clearly worked when he used it, so... That's
- 1:08:20Speaker 4: not gonna help the movie. It's a plug-in model. He
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: couldn't take it with him.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:08:24Speaker 3: And then they go to another room where there's, like,
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: the knife gate or whatever. Like, rip... I'd be ripping
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: out those bad boys and, like, Wolverining with my kitchen knives.
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: Come on. Be resourceful. You're surrounded by weapons.
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: I mean... They did pretty well for not being that resourceful, really.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: Because they hung on for a while, a good amount
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: of them. I mean, they took out those two girls,
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: but then the rest of them almost hung around until
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: the end there, and then....
- 1:08:55Speaker 4: Well, I had a bad feeling about that, because they
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: kill the first girl, and then we go at least
- 1:09:00Speaker 4: a half an hour before the second one dies, and
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: it's like, oh, great, they're going to cram them all
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: in at once, which is more or less what happened.
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: Sometimes you just got to pitchfork people.
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: I will say I did not see that coming. Well,
- 1:09:15Speaker 4: that came later, but when they pitchforked the one girl who...
- 1:09:19Speaker 4: turned out to be the good guy and you thought
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: she was disguised as the bad guy i know i
- 1:09:23Speaker 4: was impressed but i was like good thinking on your
- 1:09:25Speaker 4: part sad i mean yeah sad she died.
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: Well yeah it's also a good reason to share your
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: location with someone pierce and i share our locations.
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: Like your abusive boyfriend yeah you should always share your
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: location i mean he had her track from day one
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: anyway so yeah it's true but it's hard to do
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: when they steal your phone.
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: So yeah So I'd know if he was getting murdered somewhere.
- 1:09:52Speaker 4: Well, you know, what was funny about that was a
- 1:09:54Speaker 4: couple of minutes before that, they showed the dude putting
- 1:09:59Speaker 4: three of the four cell phones into the microwave, which
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: is a lot more dangerous than that movie portrayed it
- 1:10:05Speaker 4: to be, but whatever.
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:10:07Speaker 4: But, you know, my girlfriend's sitting there watching it with me,
- 1:10:10Speaker 4: and she was like, why did he not put the one...
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: You know, why did he leave one out? And then
- 1:10:16Speaker 4: two minutes later, you see the guy tracking... And I'm like, well,
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: that's why. Because otherwise, obsessive boyfriend couldn't figure out her location.
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: And this movie is sloppily made.
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: Well, it was... Yeah. Well, again, like, it was the
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: real world thing of, like, when he got, like, an
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: inch away from it and stopped. And then, like, went
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: and hid. Or just grab it and go hide. You're
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: right there. It'd be different if it was, like, two
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: feet away and you don't have time. But I'm like,
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: he was right on top of it and stopped. And
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: I was like, just right there. Just In the time
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: you're hanging there, you could be holding it already.
- 1:10:53Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: But I guess he thought he'd notice. I'm like, well,
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: at that point, you're busted either way.
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: Call 911 real fast. Right. Like, what the hell?
- 1:11:03Speaker 4: Just call 911 and holler.
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:11:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: We're in a haunted house.
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: FaceTime. Turn the camera towards the guy.
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: That guy. That guy right there.
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: The clown guy.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: Look, he's got a clown. He's a lame clown. Come
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: find the lame clown. We have a bucket. Wouldn't you
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: just dump the bucket out? Maybe that was me. I
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: was just like, why? Because it's just hanging there over
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: the floor. It's not like it's a pit into nowhere.
- 1:11:35Speaker 4: Honestly, that was my concern at first. Maybe it was
- 1:11:40Speaker 4: in Temple of Doom. It was some sort of weighted thing.
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: And if she just dumped it out instead of digging
- 1:11:45Speaker 4: through it, like a trap door would open, but instead
- 1:11:48Speaker 4: it went up through the ceiling and had no bearing
- 1:11:51Speaker 4: on really anything.
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: So, yeah.
- 1:11:55Speaker 3: Was that before or after the childhood trauma escape room?
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: I think before, because that's how she got the flashlight
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: to lead her to.
- 1:12:03Speaker 5: Oh, that's what was in there.
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: Yeah, she got the flashlight there.
- 1:12:06Speaker 4: Because I was about to ask, what was even in
- 1:12:07Speaker 4: the bucket?
- 1:12:08Speaker 5: But it was, yeah, a flashlight.
- 1:12:09Speaker 3: Yeah, because then there's the knife curtains.
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: Which again was a, I mean, it was a convincing
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: setup in that moment where she looked over, but like
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: the way they shot it was convincing enough in that
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: moment of her. But like, again, real world, like had
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: she not looked over at the appropriate time, like the
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: whole gimmick of it. I mean, the sawing of it
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: only works if you know she's, that the person sawing that. Right.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: For you to go, oh, I have to run and
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: try to get through in time. And like, so it, yeah, it.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: it happened right this time. But again, how many times
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: does it just fall down and nobody knew he was
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: over there?
- 1:12:46Speaker 3: And that one, I was like, well, just let it
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: fall and then go over and grab all around it.
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:12:53Speaker 5: And that seems a lot to have to reset.
- 1:12:55Speaker 4: Possibly multiple times.
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: Which is why I questioned, I was like, is this
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: just one time? This is just their whole night. They're
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: just like, let's just pick some kids and terrorize them
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: all night and then we'll call it a night. Yeah.
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: Go get food.
- 1:13:07Speaker 3: Because there's a lot of them. It's a whole operation.
- 1:13:11Speaker 4: Well, and bad guy characters kept showing up, like new ones.
- 1:13:16Speaker 4: And ones you'd forgotten about came back.
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: It's like, what are they doing in the meantime?
- 1:13:23Speaker 5: Having coffee.
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: Go to the break room, yeah.
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: They were the ones out in the parking lot when
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: they got there. Just people standing around being like, did
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: you see that guy we murdered earlier?
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:13:31Speaker 5: Can you believe this job? Minimum wage.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: I'm telling you, man.
- 1:13:34Speaker 5: I'm on my feet all night.
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: You know how many times I've gotten stabbed? No health insurance.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: So yeah, I guess that's also around when we get
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: to the boyfriend phone. So do we want to address
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: the reappearance of the boyfriend?
- 1:13:49Speaker 5: Sure.
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: So what were your issues with it?
- 1:13:54Speaker 4: Well, my issues are, like I said, they cram in
- 1:13:57Speaker 4: that bit about how, oh, you know, I grew up
- 1:14:00Speaker 4: in a haunted house and now it's come full circle
- 1:14:02Speaker 4: because now I'm in, which, you know, I say that
- 1:14:05Speaker 4: like I'm making fun of abuse and The Cycle of Abuse,
- 1:14:08Speaker 4: which I'm not.
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: Just its presentation.
- 1:14:10Speaker 4: Saying that they crammed it into the movie when it
- 1:14:12Speaker 4: really had no effect on the storyline. Because then the
- 1:14:15Speaker 4: guy shows up and he's, you know, and you think, okay, well,
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: it's a good thing Stalker Boyfriend was stalking, stalkering her
- 1:14:23Speaker 4: for the first time ever in history of that happening.
- 1:14:27Speaker 4: And then he is so completely ineffective that he's killed
- 1:14:31Speaker 4: like 30 seconds after he gets to the haunted house.
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: Which I thought was funny. He was like, yeah, that
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: guy sucks, so.
- 1:14:37Speaker 4: Right, but from a storytelling standpoint, his presence did nothing
- 1:14:41Speaker 4: to progress the plot along.
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: I mean, it gave them a way out eventually. Because
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: at first I was like, why is this here? But
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: the truck for them to escape in was the only
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: purpose that he served, really. Because my thing that was
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: more disturbing was when we see them send out the
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: signal where she is, and then we see him look
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: at him and we're like, wait, are we going to
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: have him be the hero now?
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: Because I'm not okay with this movie if that's what happened. Yeah.
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: If suddenly we're rooting for abusive boyfriend, no, I'm out.
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: So thankfully, that's why I was like, at least hopefully
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: he gets murdered as soon as he walks out. Oh good,
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: he's dead. So yeah, because I was like, I can't
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: get on board with this movie if suddenly he's going
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: to come and rescue her. I was like, no, no, no, no, no.
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: So yeah, that was my main concern.
- 1:15:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: Thankfully he was murdered.
- 1:15:36Speaker 5: He was unalived rather quickly.
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: Yeah. Which I thought was funny.
- 1:15:40Speaker 5: But that's, you know, that's... But that was, I guess,
- 1:15:44Speaker 5: the only.
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: Whatever. That was the only takeaway, though, right? Because had he... Right.
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: Because their car was messed up. They were just walking
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: on the road after that. I guess there was no
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: real escape for them had he not been sitting there
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: with a running truck. Why would you leave it running, dumbass,
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: when you go inside to look for it?
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: That was the part that he just left it in the.
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: Middle of the road. You're just giving away your truck?
- 1:16:07Speaker 4: For some people, turning ignition keys is really hard.
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: I guess so.
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: He didn't seem real bright. You know, Sally made it.
- 1:16:15Speaker 5: Through the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and she ran off on foot.
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:16:19Speaker 4: She got a ride from, she did get a ride
- 1:16:23Speaker 4: from a passerby, but yeah.
- 1:16:26Speaker 3: They could have ran and then someone stopped and then
- 1:16:28Speaker 3: they jump in. Yeah.
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: We didn't need all that. Or they could do it
- 1:16:33Speaker 3: a different way. She has an older brother who, you know,
- 1:16:36Speaker 3: something we didn't.
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. So was he a cool older brother or
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: he was the.
- 1:16:43Speaker 5: One abusing her? No, he probably abused her also.
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: No.
- 1:16:46Speaker 3: In my version, he's a cool older brother and he survives.
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: Yay. That would be nice.
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: But yeah, because then we, to connect to that, then
- 1:16:55Speaker 3: we go to the childhood trauma escape room.
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: Yay.
- 1:16:58Speaker 3: Which is also, does not fit at all with the
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: rest of the house. The abandoned factory.
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: But those are such a thing. I can kind of
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: see it. It's more troubling when it was like it
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: said escape room. And I'm like, so don't go in
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: that door. You're just going to get locked in there
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: and have to do a bunch of stupid puzzle shit.
- 1:17:19Speaker 3: It's just like how convenient that they knew your entire
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: backstory and built this room just for you.
- 1:17:24Speaker 4: Well, that's what I was curious about. It's like, was
- 1:17:27Speaker 4: this a coincidence? Or did they build all this for her?
- 1:17:32Speaker 4: Because then we have to have the flashback where she's like,
- 1:17:36Speaker 4: You know, Daddy used to hit Mommy.
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: I don't know. I feel like creepy kid room with
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: dolls in it is in every haunted house, right? Absolutely.
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: That's fair.
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: It just also happened to be the escape room. But
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: I don't feel like it was tailored specifically for her abusiveness.
- 1:17:52Speaker 5: But she had to hide.
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: She just had those flashbacks because she had that.
- 1:17:56Speaker 4: But they had her get under the bed for no
- 1:17:58Speaker 4: other reason I can think of than to remind her
- 1:18:01Speaker 4: of when this is where she used to hide from Daddy.
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: This is also one of those moments when I'm like, okay,
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: you're trying to get up to the top. Why did
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: you start all the way at the bottom and crawl
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: a long way? Like you could just walk to the
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: side and reach down and be like, Oh, here's the
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: thing I was going to get. Like, I was just like,
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: this is the dumbest way to go about this. And
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: the most likely that you're going to get like grabbed.
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: Cause you're spending 10 times longer crawling along the floor.
- 1:18:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: I was just like, that doesn't make any sense. Just
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: walk up there and reach down and grab it. Like
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: it's a single bed. It's not even like it was
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: some sort of, giant california king you had to crawl around.
- 1:18:35Speaker 4: Under like you just go to one side yeah flip
- 1:18:38Speaker 4: it over in case there's something under there waiting for you.
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: A secret although there is something that makes me laugh
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: every time about just a gun the whole thing is
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: like curtain of knives razor blades little thing you stick.
- 1:18:54Speaker 4: Your arm into a guy's.
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: Neck and then just a gun well i also like
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: but it was like a rigged up gun the one
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: at the end i was just like I don't know
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: that those guys are swift enough to put together this
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: mechanical system that not, I mean, if it just fired
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: it once, sure. But it re-cocked it and like had
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: it ready for another round.
- 1:19:15Speaker 4: And it was synced up with the pop goes the ring.
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: With the song, yeah. I was like, I don't know
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: that these guys are that swift. Like, I don't, it
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: seems like it would be really hard to get one
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: that would re-cock your gun for you and have it
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: ready for another go without getting screwed up. Yeah, it
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: did it like five or six times. Like, Yeah.
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: It just seems not fair.
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: It seems a little unlikely.
- 1:19:39Speaker 3: He'd have a gun. Although, I mean, it does make
- 1:19:43Speaker 3: for a fun scene when the chainsaw zombie comes back
- 1:19:45Speaker 3: and then they saw off the shotgun. That's fun, but
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: it just seems unfair.
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: I mean, when you're murdering people, you use whatever you want.
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: Sometimes you just want to shoot somebody.
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: And then later when they get out, the other guy
- 1:19:59Speaker 3: has a pistol. I'm like, what? You just have guns?
- 1:20:01Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: Anyway.
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: That's later.
- 1:20:06Speaker 5: There should have been a speech.
- 1:20:07Speaker 4: I don't like to use these because they're not elaborate
- 1:20:09Speaker 4: and time consuming.
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: Well, and if they're filming it in Kentucky, I bet
- 1:20:14Speaker 3: one of the chances those teens have guns.
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: Any random person walking around is packing.
- 1:20:21Speaker 5: Yeah, those guns weren't even in the script. They just
- 1:20:23Speaker 5: don't know.
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: How they got them. The actors just showed up. And
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: they were like, oh, I mean, I'm going to keep
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: wearing this.
- 1:20:28Speaker 5: Somebody was like, dude, nice side piece. And he was like, what?
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: Oh.
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: Just put it on with my shoes every day.
- 1:20:38Speaker 4: With the whole gun and the door, who's resetting that
- 1:20:44Speaker 4: every time.
- 1:20:45Speaker 5: It goes off?
- 1:20:47Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. It's very elaborate.
- 1:20:49Speaker 5: Because they even seem to forget that it was there.
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: That's the other thing. Like, we never got anybody in, like,
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: a control room that was making sure all of this
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: stuff was... Because, like I said, they're doing it backwards.
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: They're doing it with keys. So they're doing it different than,
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: in theory, every other person that's come through there. So, like,
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: somebody would have to be figuring out how to reroute
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: things to make it still happen if it's supposed to
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: happen like this. But, yeah, we never really see any
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: of that. The clown's seemingly in charge and he just
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: wanders around and... Lights things on fire eventually. But other
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: than that, doesn't seem to be in charge of anything.
- 1:21:27Speaker 5: Who's actually in charge?
- 1:21:29Speaker 4: Which member of this brain trust put all this together?
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: Again, there's the question. Do you want a 20-minute monologue
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: explaining that with flashbacks?
- 1:21:39Speaker 3: Kind of.
- 1:21:41Speaker 4: I mean, I can't... You'd have to... Tasks would have
- 1:21:45Speaker 4: to be assigned. Follow-through would have to be implemented. I mean,
- 1:21:49Speaker 4: I don't see any of those people making sure that
- 1:21:52Speaker 4: all the things that are necessary to make this a
- 1:21:55Speaker 4: smooth running operation are in place like they need to be.
- 1:21:57Speaker 4: There's no oversight here.
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: This is pretty much just us reverting back to the
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: murder fest. I'm just yelling at the movie. Hell fest,
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: blood fest, whatever that one was the whole time. We
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: were just like, but it was... paying all these people
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: to go there and who's watching this when it yeah
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: so that thought did occur there's a lot of practical
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: questions when these things come into play i.
- 1:22:19Speaker 3: Do i mean yeah if we get into that then
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: i do wonder like how do they go to the
- 1:22:23Speaker 3: grocery store.
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: That's what you make yourself look like that well see
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: that's what i said i was like that was the
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: funny part at first before we got i was like
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: when we get to the demon looking guy that i
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: was just like So tonight, you're the coolest dude on earth.
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: But every other day of the year, you're the guy
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: in front of me at the grocery. Yeah. And you're
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: just like, yeah.
- 1:22:43Speaker 5: Sometimes 360.
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: Yeah, you still need to buy bread though, don't you, weirdo?
- 1:22:46Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: So you're just a dork that hangs out at the
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: mall and looks like that anyway. So it only works
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: under your creepy circumstances. The rest of the time, you're
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: just a weird looking dude.
- 1:22:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: But then as the reveal came, the Dracula dude was
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: the one that didn't have all that weird stuff. And
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: they sent him out shopping. So the rest of them
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: could all look as weird as they want and I
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: guess hang out there by themselves all day.
- 1:23:10Speaker 4: I'll give them credit. There were times that they did
- 1:23:13Speaker 4: answer questions that needed to be answered.
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: But I thought they weren't going to be answered.
- 1:23:17Speaker 4: But the way they were, the times that they answered them,
- 1:23:20Speaker 4: it was almost as if somebody was writing the screenplay
- 1:23:25Speaker 4: and then as the pages were being written, somebody was
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: coming along behind him and reading them and saying, oh, hey, man,
- 1:23:32Speaker 4: what about this part?
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: How do they, like, go buy supplies? Who buys stuff?
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: I mean... Oh, wait, hold on. Oh, I'm going to
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: create this little character.
- 1:23:39Speaker 3: Good idea.
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: Let me write something.
- 1:23:40Speaker 5: And Dracula enters and says, I buy stuff. I didn't
- 1:23:43Speaker 5: mean to kill anybody. My bad.
- 1:23:47Speaker 4: Yep.
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: Yeah. Probably so. Sometimes you got to address the questions,
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: you know, as they come up.
- 1:23:53Speaker 4: I honestly hope there's a very serious script out there somewhere.
- 1:23:57Speaker 4: That says suddenly a Dracula.
- 1:24:00Speaker 5: A Dracula.
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: I mean, I would assume there's one in your house
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: in a notebook, right?
- 1:24:03Speaker 5: I mean, there will be now.
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:24:06Speaker 5: That will be the crux of the whole.
- 1:24:08Speaker 4: People will be like, why did you write this?
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: Well, I mean, I needed to get to the Dracula.
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: That's the important part. So by the time we get
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: to the end, she just starts, like she's made it
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: a good run, but then she gets a whole lot
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: of stuff that happens at once. And then doesn't seem
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: to affect her that much, really.
- 1:24:29Speaker 4: Well, as we all know, shotgun wounds really only hurt
- 1:24:33Speaker 4: for about five minutes.
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: First, she gets a nail through the foot. And doesn't
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: really seem to limp much in her running the rest
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: of the time. Not to mention her hands ripped off, essentially.
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: The entire palms of her hands.
- 1:24:45Speaker 4: I forgot all about that.
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: Yeah. And they kind of did, too. Because later, until
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: we get to the end and she's bandaged up, you're like, oh, yeah,
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: that's right. Her hands were all messed up.
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: She just sort of functions okay otherwise and then gets
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: shot as well. So it's a lot to deal with
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: in a short span of time.
- 1:25:01Speaker 3: And kills her best friend.
- 1:25:03Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: Oops. Friendly fire, you know. Sometimes when you're in a
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: murder house, you accidentally kill your friends.
- 1:25:11Speaker 5: I mean, I figure that's how I'll go out.
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: Yeah, it does seem.
- 1:25:15Speaker 5: One of my friends will think I'm the bad guy
- 1:25:17Speaker 5: and stab me.
- 1:25:18Speaker 4: But I will not be like, oh, that's okay.
- 1:25:22Speaker 5: I'll be like, you jackass.
- 1:25:25Speaker 3: Which also, this happened way earlier, but I just remembered,
- 1:25:27Speaker 3: stop it, Nelson. You are being a monster boy.
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: He started it.
- 1:25:31Speaker 4: Weird.
- 1:25:33Speaker 3: Which reminds me of earlier, why did she feel entitled
- 1:25:37Speaker 3: to take her friend's mom's ring as part of her
- 1:25:40Speaker 3: Halloween costume? That's rude.
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: Don't do that.
- 1:25:44Speaker 3: That's not yours.
- 1:25:44Speaker 5: Especially when the girl was like, don't take that.
- 1:25:47Speaker 3: That's my mom's.
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: And if she was like, I'm a fancy rich lady,
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: not cat girl. Why does cat girl need a ring?
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: You don't need that. It doesn't make any sense with
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: your costume.
- 1:25:59Speaker 4: I don't even know how you would get a ring
- 1:26:01Speaker 4: on a cat. I'm looking at his toes right now.
- 1:26:03Speaker 3: Don't touch me.
- 1:26:05Speaker 5: I think it would just be bad for all of us.
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: Keep your jewelry to yourself. So by that point, he's
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: burning down the building. He's lighting his oil bags on
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: fire or whatever the hell those were there for. I
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: guess the plan was at the end of the night,
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: burn it all down. Like that's not going to.
- 1:26:22Speaker 3: Draw more attention to it. We're going to find all
- 1:26:26Speaker 3: the bodies.
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:26:27Speaker 3: Or I guess they were putting them in barrels.
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: Again, what was the good plan? Because at this point,
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: they lost a bunch of their people. But had they
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: just murdered all the kids like they wanted and they
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: were all going to go hit Denny's afterwards? Burn the
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: building down and go get food? Was that the plan?
- 1:26:46Speaker 3: Like, Is this like a traveling thing where they go
- 1:26:49Speaker 3: to different places?
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: They just build a new one every Halloween, burn it down,
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: and then move to another town next year.
- 1:26:56Speaker 4: His reaction, right before he set the place on fire,
- 1:27:00Speaker 4: was kind of the way I react when I lose
- 1:27:02Speaker 4: my last person in Ms.
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: Pac-Man.
- 1:27:05Speaker 4: It's like, you know, I'm disappointed, but I had fun.
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: It's time to burn the salt. As the arcade is
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: in flames.
- 1:27:15Speaker 3: Oh, many of the arcades have gone up in flames.
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: You're like, well, I had fun.
- 1:27:19Speaker 5: Screw you guys. Once I hit that last pack life.
- 1:27:24Speaker 4: But, yeah, this seems like an entire life's work situation.
- 1:27:29Speaker 5: And he's just like, well, just burn it down. We'll
- 1:27:31Speaker 5: start again tomorrow.
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:27:35Speaker 4: And I understand burning it down if you're trying to, like,
- 1:27:38Speaker 4: you say, well, this is how we'll dispose of the bodies.
- 1:27:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:27:42Speaker 5: But you're putting them.
- 1:27:42Speaker 4: In barrels, which.
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: Well, you gotta keep them, you know, fresh.
- 1:27:47Speaker 4: Yeah, but the barrels probably don't burn as well as
- 1:27:49Speaker 4: if they're just laying around.
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: Probably not. But yeah, I don't know what the plan,
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: like on any good version, I don't know what their
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: plan was. Because it seemed like if the oil was there,
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: it was always burn it down.
- 1:28:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: But again, if it went well, you were just burning
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: it down, move to another town. Or now it didn't
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: go well because all my friends are dead. So just
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: screw it, burn it down.
- 1:28:16Speaker 3: You have to very carefully take the oil balloons back
- 1:28:20Speaker 3: down and put them in the back of your truck.
- 1:28:22Speaker 3: That's good oil. Save that.
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll need it for the next one.
- 1:28:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:28:26Speaker 4: There's so many problems with all of that. Because it's
- 1:28:31Speaker 4: like how... That seems like a delicate operation to just
- 1:28:34Speaker 4: lift the bags up there.
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: I know.
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: Well, how do you even find bags that aren't going
- 1:28:38Speaker 3: to break with all that stuff?
- 1:28:39Speaker 5: Well, oil is a corrosive material. I mean, it eats
- 1:28:42Speaker 5: through plastic.
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: It was dripping. It was dripping.
- 1:28:46Speaker 3: It's true.
- 1:28:46Speaker 4: So, I mean, I guess that was their plan was
- 1:28:48Speaker 4: just to burn it down all. But that would also be,
- 1:28:51Speaker 4: and they did mention that, that it is expensive.
- 1:28:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:28:55Speaker 5: It's more expensive than paint.
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: That's why I'm like, why not just gasoline?
- 1:28:59Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: If you're just going to burn it down, just go
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: buy some containers of gasoline and do the same thing
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: without the elaborate roll bag system.
- 1:29:10Speaker 4: Gasoline does smell and you don't want your patrons... You
- 1:29:14Speaker 4: don't want them getting on Yelp talking about headaches.
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: If you're going to murder them.
- 1:29:18Speaker 5: Although they wouldn't have had time because they took their phones.
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:29:26Speaker 4: How far did that one Yelp review get through?
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: Maybe they planted that so there would at least be
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: one well.
- 1:29:34Speaker 4: I like to think that they got all the way
- 1:29:35Speaker 4: through and then they were like.
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: Hey Red Cross I mean he did say that he's
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: like right towards the end he's like you think you're
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: the only one that's gotten this far and I'm like
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: so again this seems like it does go on multiple
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: times and is an ongoing thing but that means you
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: guys suck if other people got that far because this
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: seems like a weird one off that they were like
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: somehow put one over on you but like no, you
- 1:29:59Speaker 1: guys are this bad every time.
- 1:30:01Speaker 3: Yeah, if this has happened before, then we need to regroup.
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: Yeah, you're not doing your job right, because there's a
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: whole bunch of you, and you're organized and planned, and
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: these are dumb kids that aren't planning for this, so
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: you really should be able to murder them pretty easily.
- 1:30:14Speaker 3: Like, after the first time, don't have Midge carry around
- 1:30:17Speaker 3: all of his keys. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: If he's the plant that's going in, then yeah, don't
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: really give him the keys.
- 1:30:23Speaker 3: Yeah, these are some easy things we could do to
- 1:30:26Speaker 3: tighten it up.
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:30:28Speaker 4: But, You know, I mean, I think it would be
- 1:30:30Speaker 4: fun to watch some people get a little further, you know.
- 1:30:34Speaker 4: It's like, oh, this guy, I almost feel bad for
- 1:30:36Speaker 4: killing him.
- 1:30:36Speaker 5: Well, gotta go kill him then.
- 1:30:38Speaker 1: I mean, this does seem like it would be a
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: reality show at this point.
- 1:30:42Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: Is there not a survival Halloween house themed? I avoid
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: reality shows, so I don't know, but I would assume
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: by now.
- 1:30:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: I mean, they've got the competition shows of like your
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: house being big and dumb and decorated, but I don't
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: know if I've seen one where it's more or less
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: like a try to survive and get through, which seems
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: like it should be a thing. So if not, maybe
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: we should pitch this.
- 1:31:04Speaker 3: I think like back in the day, MTV had some
- 1:31:07Speaker 3: show that was like, I mean, it wasn't like in
- 1:31:10Speaker 3: a haunted house, but you know, they have like fear factor,
- 1:31:12Speaker 3: but extreme or whatever. And then I know if you've
- 1:31:15Speaker 3: ever seen Dragula, the horror drag competition show, which is awesome,
- 1:31:22Speaker 3: usually in the season premiere, they'll make all of them
- 1:31:25Speaker 3: go through a haunted house in full drag.
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: So many screams.
- 1:31:30Speaker 3: Yeah, and they're like, ah! Yeah, so that's fun, but
- 1:31:35Speaker 3: that's just one episode.
- 1:31:38Speaker 4: In the haunted house, we used to get organizations that
- 1:31:41Speaker 4: would come through.
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: It was usually like youth groups.
- 1:31:44Speaker 5: Um, we never had a group of, of drag Queens
- 1:31:48Speaker 5: come in. We did have a couple of biker.
- 1:31:49Speaker 4: Gangs go through, which was interesting, but we had a
- 1:31:53Speaker 4: group come through one time.
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: Also a lot of high pitch screams.
- 1:31:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:31:57Speaker 4: We had a group that came through that were all deaf.
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: And it's got to change. Interesting.
- 1:32:03Speaker 4: I didn't know that until they'd already been through my
- 1:32:05Speaker 4: room because I was like, I was giving these guys
- 1:32:08Speaker 4: my best stuff and nothing.
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: They're just signing yells. Yeah.
- 1:32:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:32:14Speaker 4: But right after they went through, the director of the
- 1:32:17Speaker 4: house came through.
- 1:32:17Speaker 5: He's like, oh, there's a group of deaf people. They
- 1:32:19Speaker 5: can't hear anything. So make sure they see you. And
- 1:32:21Speaker 5: I'm like, oh.
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: Visual scares.
- 1:32:24Speaker 4: That information would have been good five minutes ago.
- 1:32:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: Yeah, they really should plan a little ahead on that one.
- 1:32:30Speaker 3: A little heads up would be nice.
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: Yeah. So they escape. They go to the hospital. We
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: may or may not.
- 1:32:40Speaker 5: Have a clue. Friday the 13th, all right.
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: I was going to say, we may or may not
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: have a wrap-up. Or just a dream sequence.
- 1:32:46Speaker 3: Yeah, a dumb dream sequence. But then again. But then
- 1:32:51Speaker 3: it actually happens.
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: Sort of. Kind of.
- 1:32:52Speaker 4: Right?
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: Yeah. Maybe.
- 1:32:53Speaker 3: I think.
- 1:32:54Speaker 4: And one of you guys brought up a good point
- 1:32:56Speaker 4: that I didn't think of while I was watching it.
- 1:32:59Speaker 4: But why did she write down her home address instead
- 1:33:02Speaker 4: of her college address?
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. Well, but she was also going to take
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: a lift to her home address, right? Like, wasn't she
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: toying with going to mom's house when she was going
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: outside the party? Oh, yeah. So I don't know that, like,
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: she just, I don't know, just wants to go back home.
- 1:33:18Speaker 4: How far away is home?
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. If you've been missing for four
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: years now, like, they can't find you if you're 20
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: minutes away.
- 1:33:24Speaker 4: Yeah, if you're 400 miles away and they haven't seen
- 1:33:27Speaker 4: you in four years, okay. But if you're six blocks away.
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: Mom's just like, go check the laundromat. She's got to
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: do her laundry somewhere.
- 1:33:36Speaker 5: She could be in her bedroom. Have we checked in
- 1:33:38Speaker 5: her bedroom?
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: I don't like to open that door. She yells at me.
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: You know how teenage girls are. Yeah. So I don't know.
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: That was a weird... I mean, not surprising. As we
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: got to it, I'm like, it's a dream, right? Yeah.
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: Because it seemed very end of Nightmare on Elm Street.
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: final dream that's not a dream that could be a
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: dream and then he pops back out anyway so that
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: seemed sort of dreamlike and then we get the oh
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: yeah and.
- 1:34:07Speaker 5: Then we get the kevin mcallister.
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: Treatment well and then like even the nurse coming in
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: with the release form like was she ready to go
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: like right she still seemed like she was kind of
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: a mess and by the way that was a that
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: was a terrible uh wound attack attempt to It was
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: like half coming off and barely had any gauze on it.
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: I was just like, girl got shot. Like at least
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: do a good job of wrapping her up. So yeah,
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: she did not look ready to travel, but maybe this
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: was released from getting admitted or something.
- 1:34:39Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:34:39Speaker 3: I was like, where are the cops? I mean, they
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: were coming.
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: Or was that the fire trucks? I don't know. They
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: passed by, I thought, cops that were going that way.
- 1:34:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:34:50Speaker 5: Some sort of emergency personnel.
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:34:52Speaker 3: But you'd think if she and baseball guys showed up
- 1:34:55Speaker 3: and both had been shot.
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: They'd at least want to get a statement, you know. Hey,
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: by the way, how'd you get shot?
- 1:35:02Speaker 3: Someone would alert the cops.
- 1:35:04Speaker 5: Why are you both of you bloody? You know, that's
- 1:35:07Speaker 5: supposed to be on the inside, right?
- 1:35:09Speaker 3: And that's when it comes in to be like, I
- 1:35:11Speaker 3: can tell you exactly who did this. They have very
- 1:35:13Speaker 3: distinguishing facial features.
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: By the way, most of them are dead now because
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: we murdered them all. You can look for a clown guy.
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: I didn't see him die. Other than that, we murdered
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: pretty much all of them.
- 1:35:27Speaker 3: Yeah, you'll know it's him because everywhere he goes, people go, ah,
- 1:35:31Speaker 3: why do you look like that?
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: He's just like crusty at that point. Just trying to
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: buy my chips. Let me go home and eat my
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: chips in peace. What do you look like?
- 1:35:48Speaker 5: Shut up.
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: The rest of the year sucks, man. This is why
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: I murder people. I hope you know. Your treatment of
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: me is why I murder. Yeah. So, murder trap. What
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: was that for? It's the best way to wrap it up.
- 1:36:09Speaker 5: I guess.
- 1:36:09Speaker 3: Might as well.
- 1:36:10Speaker 1: I wasn't mad at it.
- 1:36:12Speaker 3: It's like, okay.
- 1:36:14Speaker 5: And why were the cops called?
- 1:36:16Speaker 4: Was it because of the big fireball that had suddenly.
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: I'm assuming the fire is what set them off. Because otherwise...
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: But there's nothing... They've been murdering for hours.
- 1:36:23Speaker 5: But there's nothing around there. There's nobody.
- 1:36:26Speaker 4: I mean.
- 1:36:27Speaker 5: Cars don't even go past there.
- 1:36:29Speaker 4: Unless they're, you know, alcoholic ex-boyfriends with, you know, stalker fetishes.
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: Hmm.
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: Random and nosy neighbor. That's over there with binoculars from
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: two miles away.
- 1:36:41Speaker 5: What's that?
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: I think it's on fire over there.
- 1:36:43Speaker 5: What's that neighbor from Bewitched? Gladys.
- 1:36:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: I think Gladys was all up in the window. I
- 1:36:49Speaker 1: think the kids is doing some drugs over there.
- 1:36:51Speaker 5: She's like, that abandoned factory is on fire again, Ted.
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: We'll assume it was that.
- 1:36:58Speaker 4: He's like, mind your own business, woman.
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: My thing is... Again, I'm just like, so is that
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: the plan every time, too? Is go to their house
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: and murder them later? Like, that's why we get your info.
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: In case we miss one, you know, we'll catch you later.
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: Don't you worry about that.
- 1:37:17Speaker 3: I guess.
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: Because otherwise, again, like, all his friends are dead. So
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: is it just like revenge now? He's just like, that
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: stupid girl murdered all my friends, messed up my haunted house.
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: I'm going to get her.
- 1:37:31Speaker 5: Yeah, everyone on his team is dead.
- 1:37:34Speaker 4: The cops have no reason to assume that he's not
- 1:37:36Speaker 4: just burned up in the.
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: Or would know who he is. They can't really ID
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: him by anything other than a clown guy. If they
- 1:37:44Speaker 1: even saw him. I don't know. We kept seeing him.
- 1:37:46Speaker 4: So at this point, he could just pack everything up
- 1:37:48Speaker 4: and move to Boca Raton and start anew. No one
- 1:37:51Speaker 4: notices when you do stuff like this in Florida.
- 1:37:53Speaker 5: In fact, it's inspected.
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: I mean, truthfully, there was a run of just randomly
- 1:37:57Speaker 1: seeing clowns out on the side of the road. People
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: were shooting videos. Could be that guy just relocating. Yeah. So, yeah,
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: I kind of wondered that, too. I was like, was
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: this a one-off thing, or did they always follow up
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: with murders that people that, again, you think you're the
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: only one got this far, so that means other people escaped,
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: and then they had to track them down later, which
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: luckily they wrote down their home address.
- 1:38:19Speaker 3: Yeah, that's why they have them fill out the form.
- 1:38:22Speaker 4: My question to that, though, is how long did she
- 1:38:26Speaker 4: have to wait for this guy to show up at
- 1:38:27Speaker 4: her house?
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: See, that's what I was trying to say. day?
- 1:38:30Speaker 4: Is it five years later?
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: Is this she signed the release form and ran home immediately?
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: And then does that mean he'd already murdered baseball hat
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: boy's family? We can only hope.
- 1:38:39Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, then we don't even get, like, a big
- 1:38:42Speaker 3: reunion with her mom or anything. Like, did she tell her?
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: We got the dream version. Yeah. And then she's like, hi, mom,
- 1:38:48Speaker 1: I'm home. By the way, there's a dude coming here
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: to kill you, so get lost. I'm going to murder
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: him in your front lawn area. Yeah. So you're cool
- 1:38:54Speaker 1: with that, right? I mean.
- 1:38:56Speaker 3: I'm going to pour a bunch of glue all over
- 1:38:57Speaker 3: your hardwood floors.
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: Don't worry about that. There'll be some, you know, some
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: pieces of person stuck in it. Yeah.
- 1:39:04Speaker 3: You wait for it to dry and then you scrape
- 1:39:06Speaker 3: it off.
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: Yeah, it's fine.
- 1:39:07Speaker 3: It's easy. I don't know. It's fine.
- 1:39:13Speaker 1: It was fine. Did we cover any overall issues? Again,
- 1:39:20Speaker 1: I thought overall it still held together pretty well other
- 1:39:23Speaker 1: than our nitpicking. Visually, I thought it was pretty good. Again,
- 1:39:28Speaker 1: for indie and hadn't made much... I did see what
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: they made at the same time as this. Did you
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: see that?
- 1:39:35Speaker 3: Yeah, which was interesting. That was interesting.
- 1:39:37Speaker 1: From low budget to pretty damn big budget studio movie.
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: A Quiet Place. Oh. Is what they were writing at
- 1:39:47Speaker 1: the same time as this.
- 1:39:48Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:39:48Speaker 1: I guess they made this one and then sold A
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: Quiet Place and big studio money got thrown at that one.
- 1:39:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: Interesting.
- 1:39:57Speaker 3: I think they used... some of the money that they
- 1:39:59Speaker 3: got from, yeah, to make this. It's like their little
- 1:40:02Speaker 3: passion project. Oh, there goes a whale. Which is fun.
- 1:40:07Speaker 3: I think I love the, like something about the spooky
- 1:40:10Speaker 3: little masks and then their weird little faces.
- 1:40:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:40:13Speaker 3: I just find very fun. Especially the scene with Mitch
- 1:40:18Speaker 3: and like that whole reveal, I think is always very creepy.
- 1:40:21Speaker 1: It's a little too quick on the murder scene. Like,
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: I like the setup, but, like, do you still want
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: to see my face?
- 1:40:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:40:27Speaker 1: It's, like, really creepy, and just the longer they hang
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: on that, it's creepy. And then it cuts away to
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: the rest of them and comes back, and he's already dead.
- 1:40:33Speaker 1: And I'm just like, I mean, we could have at
- 1:40:35Speaker 1: least gotten the reveal of the face and then seen
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: him murder, but it just cuts right to that. Yeah.
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: He's already dead on the ground. I'm like, all right,
- 1:40:41Speaker 1: I get it. That's where we thought this was going.
- 1:40:44Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:40:45Speaker 1: It cut a little. That was one of the few, like, editing-wise,
- 1:40:47Speaker 1: it cut too quick on that one. Mm-hmm. But there
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: were other, like, there was one in the hallway that was, like,
- 1:40:52Speaker 1: this really cool camera move that was minimal. Like, it
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: was just pulling back as they were all sort of
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: turning around. It was like, all right, that was good.
- 1:41:00Speaker 1: So they've definitely got some skill. So I'll be interested
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: to see what else these two put together. Yeah.
- 1:41:07Speaker 3: It's a fun little Halloween gory, like, Home Alone murder
- 1:41:14Speaker 3: trap set up.
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: I wasn't.
- 1:41:17Speaker 4: Largely irritated the whole time i mean most movies really
- 1:41:20Speaker 4: i don't yeah.
- 1:41:24Speaker 5: Uh my girlfriend feels like the movie lied to.
- 1:41:26Speaker 4: Her well because well a lot of movies we went
- 1:41:29Speaker 4: in the first five or ten minutes we were both
- 1:41:31Speaker 4: like god this is awful you know we we wanted
- 1:41:34Speaker 4: baseball hat boy to uh because we knew we knew
- 1:41:39Speaker 4: yeah we knew he was gonna be up to no
- 1:41:41Speaker 4: good and it turned out he was and then it
- 1:41:43Speaker 4: Then it started to go up and up and up,
- 1:41:46Speaker 4: and then all of a sudden it was like, there's
- 1:41:49Speaker 4: no point in making sense of any of this. I mean,
- 1:41:51Speaker 4: that's almost what the film said.
- 1:41:53Speaker 1: Eventually, yeah, by not answering any of those questions for you.
- 1:41:58Speaker 4: So, yeah, that's where she feels like the movie lied
- 1:42:00Speaker 4: to her.
- 1:42:00Speaker 3: That's fair.
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: I mean, I feel like even within the story, they
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: were lied to.
- 1:42:06Speaker 5: Yeah, that's true, I guess.
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: Real to the story.
- 1:42:10Speaker 3: She got haunted.
- 1:42:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:42:13Speaker 5: She got angry.
- 1:42:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I think there were threats to somebody, but I'm
- 1:42:23Speaker 4: not sure who.
- 1:42:26Speaker 5: Probably the movie itself. I don't remember.
- 1:42:28Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: Well, there's our festive Halloween fun.
- 1:42:34Speaker 3: Yay.
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: So. Have we decided that we do want to go
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: down the road of Thanksgiving? Again, I don't guarantee it
- 1:42:48Speaker 1: won't come out until the end of the month in November, but,
- 1:42:51Speaker 1: you know, who cares? It's still Thanksgiving.
- 1:42:52Speaker 5: If you're up for it.
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: At some point in November. Yeah. All right. Let me
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: double check what the name of that stupid movie was.
- 1:43:01Speaker 1: Because I went through thinking, there's no way we haven't
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: already watched all these stupid Thanksgiving-themed horror movies. And this one,
- 1:43:10Speaker 1: I think, still comes off like it's a slasher.
- 1:43:12Speaker 5: What was the one we watched? Was that just Thanksgiving?
- 1:43:15Speaker 5: Was that what it was called?
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: Which, the Eli Roth one?
- 1:43:17Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:43:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:43:18Speaker 5: Because that one I did actually enjoy.
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: Yeah. That was well made. Again, it was well financed,
- 1:43:23Speaker 1: so that helps. And supposedly working on a sequel that
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: is not out this year. So now we have to
- 1:43:28Speaker 1: find something else instead. Home Sweet Home, 1981. Just for
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: your heads up, the 81 Slasher is set during Thanksgiving
- 1:43:40Speaker 1: and follows a group set to enjoy holiday dinner with
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: friends on their ranch. However... Uh-oh. And we'll leave it
- 1:43:46Speaker 1: at that.
- 1:43:47Speaker 3: However.
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: However, a lame football player shows up with bad hair
- 1:43:52Speaker 1: and murders people, so.
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: I watched the trailer.
- 1:43:56Speaker 4: Spoilers, Munch.
- 1:43:57Speaker 1: And, yeah, it looks ridiculous, so... Not Home Depot, Home
- 1:44:03Speaker 1: Sweet Home.
- 1:44:04Speaker 3: That's what we have in store.
- 1:44:07Speaker 1: Next holiday festivities.
- 1:44:09Speaker 3: All right. All right.
- 1:44:13Speaker 1: Anything else to pass along before we start?
- 1:44:17Speaker 5: I don't know if it's related, but apparently there's a
- 1:44:19Speaker 5: film called Home Sweet Home Rebirth.
- 1:44:21Speaker 3: Rebirth?
- 1:44:24Speaker 1: We'll have to.
- 1:44:25Speaker 4: No, apparently this is based on a Thai video game.
- 1:44:27Speaker 4: I'm having trouble finding... What movie did you say it was?
- 1:44:29Speaker 1: 1980?
- 1:44:30Speaker 3: 1980?
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: 81.
- 1:44:31Speaker 5: 81?
- 1:44:31Speaker 1: Okay. Sorry. We can continue forward.
- 1:44:35Speaker 5: I'm going to ask you again in three weeks.
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, I know. We do this every time. And
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: usually I'm like, I don't know. That's why we're supposed
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: to write this shit down.
- 1:44:43Speaker 3: I always write it down.
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: Oh, wow. Yeah. So, I don't know if you saw that.
- 1:44:49Speaker 1: I don't even think that was the bad thing that
- 1:44:51Speaker 1: I saw.
- 1:44:53Speaker 3: Ooh, I'm intrigued. It doesn't look very Thanksgiving-y to me, but.
- 1:44:59Speaker 1: Yeah, even in the trailer, I was like, it doesn't
- 1:45:01Speaker 1: really seem like that, but they keep calling it.
- 1:45:04Speaker 5: One of those.
- 1:45:06Speaker 1: Huh. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:45:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: It's going to be so bad.
- 1:45:18Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:45:20Speaker 1: It's going to be so bad. So there's what we
- 1:45:22Speaker 1: have to look forward to next time around. Yay. Home
- 1:45:25Speaker 1: sweet home. All right. Halloween times.
- 1:45:32Speaker 5: Enjoy them. Enjoy them. Be safe. Be spooky.
- 1:45:37Speaker 1: Definitely keep it spooky, yo.
- 1:45:39Speaker 3: Don't go to any extreme haunted houses.
- 1:45:42Speaker 5: Maybe just don't go outside at all.
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: Eh, that's pretty safe most of the time, if you
- 1:45:46Speaker 1: ask me. Or I like to go in the dark
- 1:45:49Speaker 1: when no one can see me and be around me.
- 1:45:52Speaker 1: skulk about you know that's fine you can do that
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: if you want just stay away from other people normal
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: normal things yeah you know normal things i thought you
- 1:46:03Speaker 1: meant normal people ugh stay away from normal people gross
- 1:46:09Speaker 1: so there's your takeaway stay away from normal people otherwise
- 1:46:13Speaker 1: that about does it we will return next time same
- 1:46:15Speaker 1: geek feed thanks for listening Stay spooky.
- 1:46:20Speaker 3: Thank you. You're welcome. Happy Halloween.
- 1:46:24Speaker 5: Happy Halloween, everybody.
- 1:46:27Speaker 3: I can barely sleep at night. No, I can barely
- 1:46:32Speaker 3: close my eyes.
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: I feel your presence in my room. Your hollow eyes
- 1:46:49Speaker 1: and twisted smile keep taking captive of my mind. No,
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: I can't seem to get you.
- 1:46:57Speaker 2: Out.
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: Just leave me alone. Don't you say that you still
- 1:47:04Speaker 1: want me because those memories still haunt me. You're the
- 1:47:08Speaker 1: ghost of every thought inside my head. You keep floating
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: through my hallways. Keep burning every highway that I drew
- 1:47:22Speaker 1: to get away from you. Just to hear you begging
- 1:47:30Speaker 1: me to stay, it's ringing all throughout my brain. I'm
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: convinced that love's a curse. And I'm try locking all
- 1:47:41Speaker 1: my doors, but you keep coming back for more. Honey,
- 1:47:45Speaker 1: can you see way through? Just leave me alone. Don't
- 1:47:54Speaker 1: you say that you still want me because those memories
- 1:47:57Speaker 1: still haunt me.
- 1:47:58Speaker 3: You're the ghost.
- 1:47:59Speaker 1: Of every thought inside my head. You keep floating through
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: my hallways. You keep burning every highway that I drew.
- 1:48:10Speaker 3: To get away from you.
- 1:48:24Speaker 1: Now I got another feeling for you creeping again. It's
- 1:48:27Speaker 1: the only kind of feeling that I want to forget.
- 1:48:29Speaker 1: You can't try to reason for my head to spin.
- 1:48:32Speaker 1: You tell me that you love me, but you only pretend.
- 1:48:35Speaker 1: Got another feeling for you creeping again. It's the only
- 1:48:38Speaker 1: kind of feeling that I want to forget. You can't
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: try to reason for my head to spin. Tell me
- 1:48:43Speaker 1: that you love me, but you won't. Don't you say
- 1:48:45Speaker 1: that you still want me because those memories still haunt me.
- 1:48:50Speaker 1: You're the ghost of every thought inside my head. You
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: keep floating through my hallways. You keep burning every highway
- 1:49:00Speaker 1: that I drew. To get away from you. That leads
- 1:49:07Speaker 1: to other like thinking. That's not a good idea.
- 1:49:11Speaker 5: That's what gets me in trouble.
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: I know. I'm telling you. I'm thinking of finding ways
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: to just take parts of these brains out, right? I'm
- 1:49:19Speaker 1: not using 90% of it, so I can just poke
- 1:49:22Speaker 1: around in there and find the stuff that's throwing things off.
- 1:49:25Speaker 3: Mexico.
- 1:49:25Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:49:27Speaker 3: They'll do that for you, I'm sure.
- 1:49:29Speaker 1: There's an alley with a poking area, I'm sure.
- 1:49:33Speaker 3: Brain poking.
