- 0:00SPEAKER_02: And we're back.
- 0:00SPEAKER_02: I'm Truan.
- 0:01SPEAKER_02: And I'm Jesse.
- 0:02SPEAKER_02: And this is Becoming Saiyans of Dragon Ball Rewatch podcast.
- 0:05SPEAKER_02: On today's episode, we watched episodes 131 and 132 of Dragon Ball titled Walking Their Own Ways and Hotter Than Lava.
- 0:16SPEAKER_02: For trivia, because the only differences from the manga is that both these episodes are entirely exclusive to the anime.
- 0:23SPEAKER_02: So the first uh first episode trivia is in the Japanese version of this episode and the next episode, the characters erroneously refer to the lava coming out of the volcano as Magma.
- 0:35SPEAKER_02: It is not magma, it's lava.
- 0:37SPEAKER_02: Get it right.
- 0:38SPEAKER_02: Um The Elder is mentioned to be Menton Paul's grandfather in the Japanese version, but the Funimation dub doesn't make any mention of that.
- 0:46SPEAKER_02: A villager encourages Krillin to drink alcohol, which is changed to root beer in the Funimation dub, even though Krillin still gets drunk no matter what.
- 0:54SPEAKER_02: And one of the villagers is a dead ringer for the Penguin Village Police Chief Gyasu, only taller and wearing a hat.
- 1:01SPEAKER_02: Jumping into the second episode, this is the last episode in the Funimation dub until Dragon Ball uh GT, where Stephanie Naldoni regularly voices Goku.
- 1:12SPEAKER_02: From this point on, uh she is replaced by Sean Shimmel, and uh Stephanie Naldoni will not be returning as Goku until a devastating wish, which is the first episode of GT.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: Damn, that's a long time.
- 1:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:26SPEAKER_02: This is also the last episode where Lori Steele regularly voices Krillin.
- 1:30SPEAKER_02: Uh for the next episode, she is replaced uh by Sonny Strait, who is uh the first voice for Krillin moving forward.
- 1:39SPEAKER_02: In the alternate Blue Water dub, this is also the last episode until the Blue Water um dub of Dragon Ball GT, where Zoe Slushler regularly voices uh voices Goku.
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: Uh and until the next episode in the next episode, uh she's replaced by Jeffrey Watson.
- 1:55SPEAKER_02: Um Goku's tail is cut off for the third time, but it's cut off permanently by Kami during his training.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: I don't remember that happening.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't remember seeing that.
- 2:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I don't remember that.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: I would have made a note about that, but I haven't.
- 2:11SPEAKER_02: And then it talks about here later there's in Dragon Ball GT, he grows his tail back.
- 2:15SPEAKER_02: Um in the Japanese version, this is the last episode to use the third version of the ending.
- 2:20SPEAKER_02: And in the Japanese version of this, in the previous episode, the the lava is all is referred to by everyone as magma, but we didn't get that in the j in our version.
- 2:31SPEAKER_02: I did notice it that like sometimes they would say magma instead of lava.
- 2:35SPEAKER_02: I just I'm you know dumb scient non-scient guy that took four years of botany, so he wanted to take chemistry.
- 2:42SPEAKER_02: I just assume they're the same thing.
- 2:43SPEAKER_02: It doesn't mean anything to me.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: It's lava when it it's from it's lava when it's uh above ground, it's magma when it's below ground or something.
- 2:51SPEAKER_01: Something along those like it's it's like the that's like the simple way to say it.
- 2:54SPEAKER_02: I think it's different slightly different, but but to me, uh as a dumb scientist guy who took four years of botany to avoid taking chemistry, I was like, they're the same thing.
- 3:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah, most people will just say lava for everything, so it's surprising they were saying magma.
- 3:08SPEAKER_02: Can you spot the two can you spot the two different or differences between these two pictures?
- 3:12SPEAKER_02: It's the same picture.
- 3:13SPEAKER_02: Anyways, uh previously on Dragon Ball, Goku practices and trains with Popo, Mr.
- 3:21SPEAKER_02: Popo, that is, to be able to uh sense energy.
- 3:26SPEAKER_02: Anyways, back to the the A plot of these show of these episodes.
- 3:30SPEAKER_02: Tien, Yamcha, Krillin, and Chiatsu head are heading towards Kami's uh palace.
- 3:35SPEAKER_02: Or not Kami's palace, Koran's temple, sorry, wrong one.
- 3:38SPEAKER_02: He's going they're gonna climb the tower and get up to Koran.
- 3:41SPEAKER_02: Um, where they are where they run into a village that is celebrating the deity, which is the mountain, and um they're like, you know, praising the mountain spirit who like keeps their whole you know area clean and happy and healthy.
- 3:56SPEAKER_02: And oh no, the mountain is a volcano that is exploding.
- 4:00SPEAKER_02: And the the boys jump into to fight magma or lava, I guess.
- 4:05SPEAKER_02: Sorry, lava.
- 4:06SPEAKER_02: They jump into they jump into fight lava because they're like, you know what we can do?
- 4:09SPEAKER_02: We can punch the lava, and that'll stop it.
- 4:12SPEAKER_02: And so they they they punch the lava real good and save the day, but oh no, there's more lava, and so they have to do it again, and then eventually the all the villagers are like, man, we were worshiping a volcano this whole time.
- 4:24SPEAKER_02: That was dumb.
- 4:25SPEAKER_02: Thank you guys for saving us, and that's what you missed on Dragon Ball.
- 4:28SPEAKER_02: Jesse, go for it.
- 4:30SPEAKER_01: These are fun, these are very fun episodes.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: Um, this is also a very fun episode of the podcast.
- 4:35SPEAKER_01: This is the first episode where we didn't watch the episodes together.
- 4:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and the reason for that is when you're hearing this uh episode, I will be driving to Louisville for the Pokemon tournament.
- 4:46SPEAKER_02: And so Jesse and his partner, they were celebrating their anniversary of dating each other last Thursday.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: You're recording this ahead of next.
- 4:56SPEAKER_01: This is next, not not this Thursday.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: Oh, yes.
- 4:58SPEAKER_01: Sorry, yeah, my bad.
- 4:59SPEAKER_01: You're hearing this a week after Trump's driving to Louisville.
- 5:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, by the time you hear that, I will be a week removed.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: But anyways, which is why we need to record it.
- 5:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, because we are out of all we have ran out of our chamber of of uh episodes to do because of you having to take an episode.
- 5:14SPEAKER_02: We also missed an episode a couple weeks ago or a month or two ago.
- 5:18SPEAKER_02: We haven't been able to build up the backlog as much, so we're like, Jesse, um, watch it before I get over there on the on the day we're recording this, and I'll watch it and we'll just talk about it.
- 5:29SPEAKER_02: So this might be a little bit different flowing because we're both not up.
- 5:33SPEAKER_02: It's not like we just got done watching it 20 minutes ago.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: So uh I watched it about 12 hours ago, and you want to see closer to about 20.
- 5:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: So it is still fresh in the mind.
- 5:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we still both watched it like yesterday or this morning, but it's been a little bit.
- 5:48SPEAKER_02: Um, but yeah, I also enjoyed these episodes quite a bit.
- 5:52SPEAKER_02: It was um it's weird to have a I have an episode of Dragon Ball or two episodes back to back that aren't really focused on Goku, like either one of them.
- 6:03SPEAKER_02: Normally Goku is at least a like an A plot in one of two uh every other episode, if not every episode.
- 6:10SPEAKER_02: But these two, he is almost specifically at one point in the second episode, you almost forget that he's a character in the show because they haven't cut back to him for like 20 of the 24 minutes.
- 6:20SPEAKER_02: You get like two minutes at the beginning, two minutes at the end, and the rest of it is just Yamcha and the boys hanging out.
- 6:26SPEAKER_01: Which I think is needed if you're gonna fill out the water.
- 6:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah, if you want us to care, if you want us to care about these other characters other than Goku, like, especially because at the end of this, the end of the second episode, it's like we're getting ready for a tournament.
- 6:39SPEAKER_02: Like, you gotta make us care about these other characters.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: And because I had to watch on my own time, I had to go to Crunchyroll and watch it.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I do get spoiled that like the tur the first tournament tournament episode is I think two episodes from now or so.
- 6:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and stuff like that.
- 6:54SPEAKER_01: So like we're getting really close.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: It's also the first time we were reminded that Piccolo Jr.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: exists at the very end of the second episode.
- 6:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:00SPEAKER_01: But that's jumping really far ahead.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:01SPEAKER_01: But it's like the second episode's like, oh, we're getting we're gonna fight.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: We might have three years before we fight, but we're fighting.
- 7:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 7:07SPEAKER_01: So it's like it is nice to flash back and get some context for like, oh, the boys are getting stronger.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:14SPEAKER_01: The problem is Roshi is completely correct from the last couple episodes of like you guys aren't catching Goku.
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: Like even crawl like climbing Corin's Tower will get you close enough to where he doesn't like two, like three hit you.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:28SPEAKER_02: But it's not gonna get you close enough that you're gonna beat him.
- 7:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:32SPEAKER_02: You might be able to get to second place by climbing Corrin's Tower.
- 7:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:35SPEAKER_02: Like that is that is the most you can hope for in that moment.
- 7:39SPEAKER_02: Um, but yeah, I enjoyed these episodes quite a bit.
- 7:42SPEAKER_02: I I mean, obviously, anytime you get to hang out with the the gang, as I call them, you know, even though like Bulma and them aren't there.
- 7:48SPEAKER_02: But like the gang.
- 7:50SPEAKER_02: I call them, I was like the boys.
- 7:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah, there's we're hanging out with the boys now.
- 7:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the boys.
- 7:54SPEAKER_02: It's a boys' trip of all boys' trips, by the way.
- 7:56SPEAKER_02: I think I wrote down a couple of times, honestly.
- 7:59SPEAKER_02: Like, this is such a like some dudes.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: No car playthrough.
- 8:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah, this is like some guys just being some dudes, just dude now, broin out.
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: I I do I didn't have to chuckle at the root beer thing.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: I'm like, and then as soon as you get strong, I'm like, yeah, that was that's probably dope.
- 8:15SPEAKER_02: I literally put it, I literally put in quotations as one of my notes.
- 8:18SPEAKER_02: I love these jelly donuts.
- 8:21SPEAKER_02: That's exactly what that was.
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: It's like, but but but it's it's more understandable than jelly donuts, not trying to get on the tangent about the Pokemon jelly donuts.
- 8:29SPEAKER_01: Oh my kids could have figured out what rice balls are.
- 8:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you can but why is it a triangle?
- 8:34SPEAKER_02: It's a ball, not a trunk.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but you know what I mean.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, no, I know.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: It is funny.
- 8:39SPEAKER_01: Like, this is like we can't we can't have kids thinking they can drink beer in America, so we'll make it root beer.
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: And then he immediately gets drunk.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: And we'll call it like he gets a sugar high or something.
- 8:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:48SPEAKER_02: No, they didn't even do that.
- 8:50SPEAKER_02: They just were like, man, he's root beer.
- 8:52SPEAKER_02: He's gone.
- 8:53SPEAKER_02: He's gone off the root beer.
- 8:56SPEAKER_02: Um, but before I want to do, I want to get the Goku stuff out of the way.
- 8:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Goku will be like five minutes of talking, probably.
- 9:03SPEAKER_02: So number one, a very Goku to turn a game of hide and seek into a game of tag.
- 9:08SPEAKER_02: Very Goku.
- 9:09SPEAKER_02: Because as soon as it's like Mr.
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: Popo's chasing him and he's just like, oh, we're playing tag?
- 9:13SPEAKER_02: Okay, I'm just gonna run.
- 9:14SPEAKER_02: No, it's hide and seek, you idiot.
- 9:16SPEAKER_02: You're supposed to hide.
- 9:16SPEAKER_02: He's like, no, no, no, I run fast.
- 9:18SPEAKER_02: That's what I do.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: Well, in his defense, if it was hide and seek, Mr.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: Popo also kind of turned it into tag because he almost immediately started running after Goku as well.
- 9:29SPEAKER_01: But Goku took a couple steps, and then Mr.
- 9:32SPEAKER_01: Popo started chasing him, and that's when Goku ran away.
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: So they're both playing hide and seek very poorly.
- 9:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but that is true.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: But that's beside the point, it is what it is.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: They're they're running around doing training.
- 9:44SPEAKER_02: And he gets his butt, he gets grabbed and thrown into the ground, and um is like, okay, now it's your turn to try to find it.
- 9:51SPEAKER_01: No one, a blindfolded Mr.
- 9:52SPEAKER_02: Popo is still Ket Goku.
- 9:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 9:55SPEAKER_02: Because he knows how to track energy and Goku does not.
- 9:58SPEAKER_02: Which is very confusing to me, because this is gonna be the note I bring up.
- 10:02SPEAKER_02: Um I put this note in between episodes because it didn't dawn on me.
- 10:05SPEAKER_02: But I was like, literally, after Goku drank the sacred water, he comes back to Korin's uh tower and he's like, I can sense the energy.
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: And I think I think what we're getting at is Goku hasn't mastered how to do it on command.
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: I think I think part of the justification for that would be Goku is so focused on Piccolo in that moment.
- 10:30SPEAKER_01: He is so headstrong that every sense is firing on at on full speed blast.
- 10:38SPEAKER_02: My justification was a little bit different.
- 10:40SPEAKER_02: Mine was that it's uh like that he piccolo is giving off so much energy, whereas Mr.
- 10:48SPEAKER_02: Popo is purposely trying to hide it.
- 10:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that could also be the Like he's not like hiding it all the way, he's obviously probably letting off some.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: But on that same but on that same wavelength, he should have he might have been able to figure out because I think it was kind of similar to what he was trying to do catching the cat.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's like you're supposed to like this on stuff.
- 11:08SPEAKER_02: It's catching the cat, it's all of the other lessons he's been learning of stop, take a break, be in the moment, all of that, if and I think he was starting to get it towards the end.
- 11:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:21SPEAKER_02: But it's just he needs like it's weird to me that like and I understand this as me just complaining about the training and these episodes that are filler, but it's because like by the time we see him again, presumably he will have mastered it, or we will see him master it in the next episode or whatever.
- 11:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:39SPEAKER_02: But it's like Goku, my boy, my buddy, my friend, he's saying, sense energy.
- 11:47SPEAKER_02: You can't think in your brain about how you sensed Piccolo's energy and then try to muscle memory this when you're the one who learned like a Mayame uh by just watching it one time.
- 11:58SPEAKER_01: Like that's why I think it's like he did it without realizing he did it, so he doesn't know how to replicate it in the same way.
- 12:05SPEAKER_01: That's why that's why I came to my justification comes with the piccolo stuff.
- 12:09SPEAKER_02: My thought on that is is that like, yeah, he did it without thinking, but now that he knows that that's what he like he he should be able to I know he's not smart, okay, but he he should be able to connect the dots of they're talking about thinking about energy.
- 12:24SPEAKER_02: I remember a time where I thought about where I focus I was able to sense somebody's energy.
- 12:28SPEAKER_02: How did that feel, and can I replicate it?
- 12:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:31SPEAKER_02: And without him verbalizing that whatsoever in these episodes, it's not a plot hole, but it's a part that I'm like, what are we doing?
- 12:37SPEAKER_01: It's also like he was so blinded by rage when he was fighting with Piccolo that maybe he's just kind of black.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: I only think he remembers from fighting Piccolo was getting to Piccolo and fighting Piccolo.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: That is not really how he found him or got him.
- 12:52SPEAKER_01: Like there's ways to justify it.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: Like, obviously, the obvious answer is Piccolo is not Piccolo.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: Goku's an idiot.
- 13:01SPEAKER_02: The more obvious episode, or more obvious explanation is these are these are filled, these are filler episodes, and they didn't they didn't think they were gonna have to explain themselves.
- 13:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:10SPEAKER_02: They they figure the next time when we're back on like Dragon Ball proper with you know following arcs and stuff, we're going to just immediately be there.
- 13:18SPEAKER_01: It's like it's Dragon Ball, no one's gonna no one's gonna try to overanalyze this.
- 13:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:23SPEAKER_01: Anyways, it's a kid's show.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: I think it's Y7 when it comes to Yeah.
- 13:28SPEAKER_02: But that is my biggest thing.
- 13:30SPEAKER_02: That that was my big note for the Goku parts, is that like it's just that like he was able to sense energy, but now he has brain, his his two brain cells can't line that up.
- 13:40SPEAKER_02: It just it was a little confusing for me, but it's whatever.
- 13:43SPEAKER_02: It's not like it's the end of the world.
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: It is what it is, yeah.
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: But and that pretty much sums up like because the first episode is him getting like chased down and caught by Popo.
- 13:53SPEAKER_02: And then him immediately trying to do Popo and failing, and then the second episode is him, we just we see him at the very beginning failing again, and then we see him at the very end somewhat almost figuring it out, yeah.
- 14:04SPEAKER_02: And starting to connect the dots.
- 14:06SPEAKER_02: Now, onto the good part, Kay Rillin and the boys.
- 14:09SPEAKER_02: Krillin's bird.
- 14:10SPEAKER_02: Krillin's bird.
- 14:11SPEAKER_01: There's actually, like, if we're being honest, this plot does focus on Krillin a lot.
- 14:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's a it's a I would say Krillin and Krillin T M with a side of Chiatsu and Yamcha.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: I would say Krillin, Tian, Yamcha, and then Chiatsu's main compliment is sensing that something's wrong with the mountain.
- 14:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 14:32SPEAKER_02: But like, see, that's why I put him above Yamcha is because at least he did that.
- 14:35SPEAKER_01: But Yamcha does solve the first lava problem.
- 14:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but if and he breaks the breaks the he breaks open the water, flows, floods the forest.
- 14:44SPEAKER_01: So like he he does contribute a lot to solving.
- 14:46SPEAKER_01: That is true.
- 14:47SPEAKER_01: So I thought they're they're they're they're the even.
- 14:49SPEAKER_02: But Chiatsu wasn't uh Yamcha wasn't high as a kite uh at the first time he sensed it.
- 14:55SPEAKER_02: No, no, no.
- 14:56SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 14:56SPEAKER_02: I'm talking about Chiatsu at the when they're first at camp in the first episode, his eyes are glowing red.
- 15:03SPEAKER_02: I thought for a second we were about to we were about to find out Chiatsu was uh wasn't staring at the full moon and was you know from an alien or something with the way his eyes were were glowing.
- 15:13SPEAKER_02: It's like I I remember when I was little, I had a monkey tail, and then it got really berries.
- 15:18SPEAKER_02: And he's just like, you know, because he's just like it's happening.
- 15:23SPEAKER_02: I was like, oh gosh, is he gonna turn into a monkey?
- 15:25SPEAKER_02: Some good old elder berries.
- 15:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 15:28SPEAKER_02: Um, but uh besides that, they had an absolute rave going at that village.
- 15:32SPEAKER_01: That that I was like, I was bumping for for pullback the curtain.
- 15:37SPEAKER_01: Oh, my overnight shifts at work is where I watch this.
- 15:39SPEAKER_01: And like when I when it's overnight, as long as there's no one trying to like steal something from my from the warehouse or anything, yeah.
- 15:45SPEAKER_01: I kind of just chill and watch stuff.
- 15:47SPEAKER_01: So I was like bumping in the chair, like listening to the beat the drums, do the dances.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: I was like, oh they're they're getting at it.
- 15:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it was a it was a good time.
- 15:56SPEAKER_02: Um and then we, you know, we cut to Goku for a bit, but then we kinda we come back and they're walking, um, they're walking into the village and it it's a trap.
- 16:08SPEAKER_02: Because as they walk, they get surrounded.
- 16:10SPEAKER_01: And then it's like, and they're all they're all worried they're gonna get murdered, and it's like, no, these are just people with masks on.
- 16:15SPEAKER_01: They're the festival.
- 16:16SPEAKER_02: They're like, what are you doing here?
- 16:18SPEAKER_02: And then like they're like, you must be here for an awesome party.
- 16:23SPEAKER_02: Let's go! The festival.
- 16:26SPEAKER_02: And so they walk into town.
- 16:28SPEAKER_02: Um the girl, Mint, I think, yeah, Mint's her name.
- 16:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 16:33SPEAKER_02: And her her voice gave me at moments a bit of AI chat bot vibes, the like the intonation and the way she would talk.
- 16:41SPEAKER_02: There are multiple moments where she was like, Well, yes, we are here.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: It it is one of those things where like they they do seem like a pretty secluded village.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:51SPEAKER_01: So I guess it's understandable that they don't get a lot of outsiders, so you know, they probably all talk very similar and like robots.
- 16:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:00SPEAKER_02: Also, uh, I love Krillin immediately simpathy.
- 17:02SPEAKER_02: He's like, Where the girls at?
- 17:04SPEAKER_02: And then it's like, there's a girl in there.
- 17:05SPEAKER_01: It's like, maybe I'll meet a cute girl.
- 17:07SPEAKER_02: A cute girl.
- 17:10SPEAKER_02: Hey, it's like, uh I'm the Goku now.
- 17:12SPEAKER_02: Look, look, look, I'm the Goku now.
- 17:14SPEAKER_02: I'm the one who for befriends the girls.
- 17:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: When Goku's not around, I befriend all the girls.
- 17:21SPEAKER_02: My uh, my girlfriend, and I guess I can say this now because this will go out after, soon to be fiance.
- 17:27SPEAKER_02: Hopefully, by the time you're hearing this fiance, um, she uh she was like, Krillin needs to quit spending so much time on Pastoroshi.
- 17:36SPEAKER_02: Because as soon as he sees a girl, he's like, hey girl, what's up?
- 17:39SPEAKER_02: What you doing?
- 17:39SPEAKER_02: What's going on?
- 17:40SPEAKER_02: Yo, you got you got a house we can go back to?
- 17:43SPEAKER_02: Hey, you wanna get out you wanna get on this root beard punch with me?
- 17:48SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's your brother, huh?
- 17:50SPEAKER_02: I'm all kick his butt.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: That's your brother, I'm gonna fight him.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: Don't worry, Yamchi.
- 17:55SPEAKER_01: I got this.
- 17:56SPEAKER_01: I might be drunk, but I'll still beat him.
- 17:57SPEAKER_02: And he pulls out drunken fire techniques, you know.
- 18:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:00SPEAKER_02: Drunken, drunken monk.
- 18:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he's out there just like he's like, this guy doesn't even have a defense stance.
- 18:07SPEAKER_02: He's like, uh, this guy doesn't even have a good offense stance.
- 18:10SPEAKER_02: I ain't worried about you.
- 18:11SPEAKER_02: I ain't worried about your mum.
- 18:14SPEAKER_02: I ain't worried about your and he they fight, and then um immediately the volcano erupts.
- 18:19SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 18:20SPEAKER_02: And then it's oh okay, well, this is a problem now.
- 18:24SPEAKER_02: They did not have to fight a heat monster, by the way, Goku.
- 18:28SPEAKER_02: Um, but then the whole town is just going up in fla uh flames, and then uh it jumps to them all running up the mountain, and I pointed out the for the this is more in the second episode now.
- 18:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 18:39SPEAKER_02: Um the boys are running up the mountain, and I'm like, this looks like this looks like me and the boys running towards a buffet.
- 18:45SPEAKER_02: Let's get the food, let's get there, please, please.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: Um I loved how how many how many pieces of volcano footage we have at the beginning.
- 18:58SPEAKER_01: Uh like there's like a minute or two of volcano footage going on at the beginning of the second episode.
- 19:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and it's just so much just like the volcano that's what a volcano does.
- 19:09SPEAKER_02: Lava flowing, burning, burning things.
- 19:11SPEAKER_02: And then Krillin almost dies.
- 19:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:14SPEAKER_02: But it's because but Chiazu saves him, and then they're like, Krillin, you probably need to work on flying.
- 19:20SPEAKER_02: Which might tell us that in the next episode or two he's gonna know how to fly.
- 19:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:24SPEAKER_01: Um probably in the tournament arc everyone's gonna know how to fly.
- 19:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: Maybe him Goku probably know how to fly.
- 19:29SPEAKER_02: And then Krillin is, you know, trying to figure out a way to, you know, save people or fight the lava.
- 19:37SPEAKER_02: But I at one point I wrote down, like, you're not being very smart.
- 19:41SPEAKER_02: I don't remember what his plan was.
- 19:43SPEAKER_02: Um he kind of just ran, I think, if I remember correctly, he runs uh or no, he can maybe mayoz into the lava.
- 19:50SPEAKER_02: That's what it was.
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: That's the that's plan A was just blast the blast lava away.
- 19:55SPEAKER_02: But instead it turns into lava rain.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: Well I pull a Roshi at the fire mountain.
- 19:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, just gone.
- 20:00SPEAKER_02: Just well, if it's disintegrated, it can't burn us.
- 20:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 20:04SPEAKER_02: But instead, if you don't disintegrate it, it now becomes rain.
- 20:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 20:07SPEAKER_02: And we can get it's rain don't.
- 20:09SPEAKER_02: Um and then uh they then uh Krillin runs down the mountain to like save the people downs down at the bottom.
- 20:17SPEAKER_02: And um Dodon, or not Dodon, TN Dodon.
- 20:23SPEAKER_02: Tien Dodons the lava.
- 20:25SPEAKER_02: And he he or Dodon's a rock that blocks lava, but then it starts veering out.
- 20:30SPEAKER_02: It's like now we have two lava steeds.
- 20:32SPEAKER_02: People's like, yes, I did it.
- 20:34SPEAKER_02: Oh no, it's gotten worse.
- 20:36SPEAKER_02: It's hydra logic now.
- 20:38SPEAKER_00: Um and so then what's worse than one lava flow?
- 20:42SPEAKER_02: Two lava flu.
- 20:44SPEAKER_02: And so then uh Krillin runs down, he's like, we gotta get you guys out of here or y'all gonna die.
- 20:50SPEAKER_02: And the elder being the elder is like, no, but the mountain will protect us.
- 20:53SPEAKER_02: The mountain will protect me from the crawl with the mountain crawled uh or crawled.
- 20:58SPEAKER_02: And then they uh so Krillin is on the mission of save the village, people.
- 21:03SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 21:04SPEAKER_02: Um, and then um Yamsha is an idea.
- 21:07SPEAKER_02: Yamsha of March 7th, 2019.
- 21:11SPEAKER_02: Yamsha has an idea.
- 21:14SPEAKER_02: And so he runs off to the um to a waterfall.
- 21:17SPEAKER_01: To a to a waterfall type area, and he's like a lake filling a waterfall in the mountain.
- 21:22SPEAKER_02: And so he just presume he starts blasting command mail into it, and he's like, Man, if I was as strong as Goku, I could do this in one time.
- 21:29SPEAKER_02: But I'll just do it two or three.
- 21:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 21:31SPEAKER_02: And so he blows it away and the water rushes down and then stops the lava.
- 21:35SPEAKER_02: And everyone's like, yeah, we did it!
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: They go back to the village, and then she uh Chiatsu was like, It's not done yet.
- 21:41SPEAKER_02: Well, no, no, because what happens when they get to the bottom is that like um they're like Krillin's like, we did it, we saved the whatever however you say his name.
- 21:50SPEAKER_02: Mint's brother.
- 21:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Mint's brother was like Paul, I think.
- 21:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 21:53SPEAKER_02: And he was like, What do you mean?
- 21:55SPEAKER_02: That was obviously the village elder praying to the mountain to stop in the mountain.
- 22:01SPEAKER_02: You guys didn't do anything.
- 22:02SPEAKER_02: Ran off to play, play, you know, tag in the woods, and then came back and tried to claim that you did it.
- 22:08SPEAKER_02: You didn't do anything.
- 22:09SPEAKER_02: And Chiaxi was like, okay, well, then we'll leave bye.
- 22:12SPEAKER_02: Anyways, there goes the volcano again.
- 22:15SPEAKER_02: Have fun with that.
- 22:17SPEAKER_02: And um and Tien's like, not now, Chiaatsi, we gotta stop this.
- 22:22SPEAKER_02: And so not the time to be petty.
- 22:25SPEAKER_02: Krillin at first pushes like a rock or a boulder to like stop it for a minute.
- 22:29SPEAKER_02: Or he might have done that before.
- 22:31SPEAKER_02: I don't remember.
- 22:31SPEAKER_02: No, he doesn't now, I think.
- 22:32SPEAKER_02: Um, and then that doesn't really work, so Tien dodons like a path so it like the lava flows towards the water, kind of.
- 22:41SPEAKER_01: Basically, he he dodons like a big pile of rock to block it from like block the lava being able to flow into the village.
- 22:50SPEAKER_01: So it like creates a lava river elsewhere.
- 22:54SPEAKER_01: We don't know where the lava river went.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: It's not in the village though.
- 22:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the village is saved the next village over.
- 23:00SPEAKER_02: Gone completely.
- 23:02SPEAKER_02: Thank Pompeii.
- 23:04SPEAKER_01: But they're not our face yet.
- 23:06SPEAKER_02: But Mint is alive, so that means Krillin's got a girlfriend, and that's all I care about here.
- 23:11SPEAKER_02: Krillin! Krillin got ladies.
- 23:13SPEAKER_02: Krillin, ladies! Ladies, ladies.
- 23:19SPEAKER_02: Um but yeah, I just some dudes hanging out for this entire episode.
- 23:23SPEAKER_02: It's just it's just a bro.
- 23:25SPEAKER_02: One thing I will say is that this these episodes reminded me a lot of the episode from Avatar Last Airbender, which also I think is just like a trope of like crazy people in a town where it like, you know, you're you know the avatar episode I'm talking about, right?
- 23:41SPEAKER_02: The fortune teller episode.
- 23:43SPEAKER_01: I have to admit I don't remember a lot of Avatar.
- 23:46SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 23:47SPEAKER_01: Well, there's an episode where the- I haven't gone back and watched it since we were like young kids.
- 23:51SPEAKER_02: I think it's a season one episode, it might be a season two episode.
- 23:54SPEAKER_02: It's definitely not a season three episode.
- 23:56SPEAKER_02: It's one of the first two seasons.
- 23:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 23:58SPEAKER_02: Um, where the gang, it's one of those one-off episodes, and the gang goes to a village, and the village is kind of ran unofficially by a fortune teller who is basically like, you need to carry this umbrella for like forever.
- 24:15SPEAKER_02: Or it's like this um this umbrella umbrella will like save you in a moment of need.
- 24:21SPEAKER_02: And so they carry it the forever, basically.
- 24:23SPEAKER_02: Anytime they're outside, they have the umbrella up.
- 24:26SPEAKER_02: And so it rains, and Sokka's like, you or they're like, see, I told you this umbrella, what like she told me the umbrella would help me one time when it was rain, like when something bad happened.
- 24:37SPEAKER_02: He's like, You carried it every day.
- 24:39SPEAKER_02: What did you expect?
- 24:40SPEAKER_02: Like eventually, yeah, eventually, I guess, yeah, your fortune was right.
- 24:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's gonna rain.
- 24:45SPEAKER_01: It's literally just it's just a fortune teller giving people superstitions.
- 24:49SPEAKER_02: No, it's literally like a it's literally like a fortune teller, like, yeah, I guess superstitions is what I'm saying.
- 24:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because like it's a superstition, like it's like fortune teller.
- 24:57SPEAKER_01: Umbrella will help me.
- 24:58SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's like it's like fortune cookies.
- 25:00SPEAKER_02: Where it's like fortune cookies are so vague about the there's no specifics on them.
- 25:05SPEAKER_01: You you will come into riches later, and then you find like a$20 bill on in the middle of the street, like three weeks later, like the fortune was right!
- 25:13SPEAKER_02: It would be more like it'd be more like you you see the fortune that says you'll come into riches later, and then like the next day you check your bank account, and it was like you got overcharged something, so there's like a dollar thirty-five.
- 25:25SPEAKER_02: And it's like they weren't, or like you you wake up or you like become a millionaire or something, and you like think back and it's like this is all thanks to that fortune cookie.
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: And it's or what you know, and it's like you will have great joy introduced into your life, and then you're like after after months of trying, like you and your wife are finally pregnant and stuff, like you're having a baby.
- 25:46SPEAKER_01: Oh wow, great fortune, it's awesome!
- 25:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and it's like it's a great joy, yeah.
- 25:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, I guess eventually the the chance of something good happening in your life eventually, or something bad happening that you need something to help with will eventually happen.
- 26:02SPEAKER_02: And I I think that one also ends with a volcano.
- 26:05SPEAKER_02: I'm pretty sure that a volcano erupts in that.
- 26:09SPEAKER_02: And so it's like Katara Aang jump in to like stop it and stuff.
- 26:15SPEAKER_02: And they're like, see, uh I'm pretty sure literally beat for beat this happens.
- 26:19SPEAKER_02: Because if I'm remembering correctly, then maybe I'm just merging these two together.
- 26:23SPEAKER_02: But like the fortune teller says, Don't worry, we'll be saved from this lava.
- 26:27SPEAKER_02: And so everybody's like, see, she said it will be alright.
- 26:30SPEAKER_02: We'll we don't have anything to worry about.
- 26:31SPEAKER_02: And so the gang goes up and stops it, comes back down, and they're like, We stopped it.
- 26:36SPEAKER_02: And they're like, see, we told the fortune teller told us we'd be saved, we had nothing to worry about, and then it explodes again, and it's like, okay, you guys are on your own, and then they're like, no, please, or the fortune teller's like, oh, oh no.
- 26:47SPEAKER_02: She takes off running and they're like, okay, please help us.
- 26:50SPEAKER_02: And like, and they go into it again.
- 26:52SPEAKER_02: I'm like, I I'm like 90% sure that it's like the Avatar episode.
- 26:56SPEAKER_02: I don't know the name of it, but there's like an Avatar Fortune Teller episode.
- 27:00SPEAKER_02: And now that the more I'm talking about it, the more I'm like, I'm pretty sure it's just one-to-one with these two episodes.
- 27:08SPEAKER_02: Like a little bit dumber.
- 27:09SPEAKER_01: Season one episode 14, the fortune teller.
- 27:12SPEAKER_02: Oh, dang.
- 27:13SPEAKER_02: I I it's literally just called the fortune teller.
- 27:16SPEAKER_01: A town completely dependent on a cloud reading fortune teller named Mount Wu.
- 27:19SPEAKER_01: Soccer tries to prove that fortune telling is fake while Katara and Aang get their future read.
- 27:23SPEAKER_00: Aang discovers that the nearby mountain makapu is going to a road, contradicting Aunt Wu's prediction that the village is safe.
- 27:33SPEAKER_00: And Katara used cloud bending to warn the village, and the townspeople work with earthbenders to cool and divert the lava, saving their home.
- 27:40SPEAKER_00: So it's not 100%.
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: Not 100%.
- 27:42SPEAKER_00: But it is just fortune teller telling people we are safe.
- 27:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 27:46SPEAKER_00: And then fucking number.
- 27:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but at one point I do remember the fortune teller being like, oh no, I I was I was wrong.
- 27:54SPEAKER_02: I don't know what I don't know what I'm talking about.
- 27:56SPEAKER_02: Like, because I they're like, she reads the oh yeah, she she reads the cloud, and the cloud is like I think I pulled this card.
- 28:01SPEAKER_02: It's a magic card first.
- 28:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, nice.
- 28:03SPEAKER_02: Sorry.
- 28:05SPEAKER_02: But I'm like pretty sure that she like she she reads the cloud and they're like, well, what should we do?
- 28:09SPEAKER_02: And she's like, heck if I know, and just like takes off, you know.
- 28:14SPEAKER_02: I'm pretty sure that's what it is.
- 28:16SPEAKER_01: You might be talking about uh like hanging them caring about it on this screen crap movie.
- 28:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but yeah, it's literally the episode is called The Fortune Teller, and it's a season one episode.
- 28:27SPEAKER_01: So you were right, it was like early season.
- 28:29SPEAKER_02: I w I remembered that, like, it was almost like one-to-one with that avatar.
- 28:33SPEAKER_02: It's pretty funny.
- 28:34SPEAKER_02: The only difference is It's a fortune teller instead of like an elder that's a big thing.
- 28:39SPEAKER_02: Instead of like uh the spirit god, and they don't have to help it twice.
- 28:46SPEAKER_01: And it's not just the the gang that are helping.
- 28:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 28:49SPEAKER_02: But I just remember that, and I was like, this is too close to be.
- 28:54SPEAKER_01: It's too close not for that episode for that episode not to have been a slight nod to this type of episode.
- 29:00SPEAKER_02: Or like I know that this is like a trope.
- 29:02SPEAKER_02: Like I'm not like that naive, but it's actually like this type of episode.
- 29:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but like this is like a it's the closest I've seen of this trope.
- 29:10SPEAKER_02: Because a lot of times it's not a volcano, you know, it's something else.
- 29:13SPEAKER_01: Like a like a hurricane or a big storm, big storm, or tsunami, earthquake.
- 29:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it could be anything.
- 29:20SPEAKER_02: But the fact that it's literally a volcano, it's just it's usually just insert natural disasters.
- 29:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 29:25SPEAKER_02: Um, but I I just was as I was watching these episodes, I was like, this is just like that Avatar episode.
- 29:32SPEAKER_02: Thing is like a thing.
- 29:34SPEAKER_02: It's like I'm watching, you know, Terminator 2 after only being the only have ever seen the boss baby.
- 29:40SPEAKER_02: It's like, man, I'm getting real boss baby vibes from this one.
- 29:43SPEAKER_02: Um that's like a meme for you, for you youths out there.
- 29:46SPEAKER_01: Youths out there, the youths of 24.
- 29:48SPEAKER_02: But Jesse, do you have anything else to add to these episodes that we have not covered?
- 29:52SPEAKER_01: Not really.
- 29:53SPEAKER_02: I mean, like, they're fun.
- 29:55SPEAKER_01: I I do I do have to bring up the the thing that I had mo the note that I had written where it's like, it's just fun to watch Popo try to teach Goku stuff.
- 30:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's like you finally under like go Mr.
- 30:07SPEAKER_02: Popo's like, oh, I see he's starting to learn a little bit.
- 30:10SPEAKER_02: Let me try.
- 30:10SPEAKER_02: And it's like, no, you should have just sent him through the time portal again, the time space portal.
- 30:15SPEAKER_01: Like just I do think like this is the first time we've seen Popo like training Goku.
- 30:21SPEAKER_01: And Goku is starting to grasp what Popo's.
- 30:25SPEAKER_02: Well, it's because in the second episode I wrote down a note that was like finally using basic words to explain it.
- 30:31SPEAKER_02: Because a lot of times what Mr.
- 30:32SPEAKER_02: Popo's doing is he's using like like he's using like truths, but like it's like an Obi-Wan, like Obi-Wan type of talking where it's like, it was true in a matter of speaking type thing.
- 30:43SPEAKER_02: Where it's like, no, you can't be metaphorical, you can't be We cannot beat around the push.
- 30:49SPEAKER_02: You have to tell him in the plain language what you need to do.
- 30:52SPEAKER_02: Tell him what muscles to flex or tell him what to do and how it will feel, and he can figure it out and get you there.
- 31:00SPEAKER_02: Um one thing I forgot to mention were these the times that these episodes came out.
- 31:04SPEAKER_02: Um the first episode, Walking in Their Own Ways, came out um October 26, 1988 in uh Japan and October 21st, 2003 in America, whereas Hotter Than Lava came out November 2nd, 1988 in Japan and October 22nd, 2003 in America.
- 31:23SPEAKER_02: Forgot to say that at the beginning, I apologize.
- 31:25SPEAKER_02: Um, Jesse, your predictions.
- 31:28SPEAKER_02: You put that these the one of these two episodes, I think you were talking about walking their own ways, was going to be more focused on the gang.
- 31:35SPEAKER_02: You got that right.
- 31:36SPEAKER_02: Um, but for hotter than lava, do you want to remember- do you remember what you said?
- 31:41SPEAKER_01: Uh it's probably something to do with Goku.
- 31:43SPEAKER_02: Goku fights a heat monster.
- 31:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, heat monster.
- 31:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:46SPEAKER_01: That's why yeah.
- 31:47SPEAKER_02: That is not what happened.
- 31:49SPEAKER_01: Um technically, they are fighting a heat monster.
- 31:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they're fighting.
- 31:52SPEAKER_02: They're fighting the mountain DED who has gotten angry and has started shooting lava everywhere.
- 31:57SPEAKER_02: Um, but Jesse, you want to hear the name of the next two episodes?
- 32:01SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 32:02SPEAKER_02: It is changes.
- 32:05SPEAKER_02: And preliminary peril.
- 32:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's what I said.
- 32:08SPEAKER_02: Good old-fashioned preliminary peril.
- 32:11SPEAKER_02: We're back to it.
- 32:12SPEAKER_02: Woo!
- 32:13SPEAKER_01: We also forget to mention, like, at the end of this episode, we did get some spoilers.
- 32:17SPEAKER_01: Like, we do see like.
- 32:18SPEAKER_01: King Choppa's coming back, Bacterion's coming back, uh, Nom's coming back.
- 32:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:23SPEAKER_01: I saw a guy that kind of looked like the Russian dude that uh Rocky fought.
- 32:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:27SPEAKER_01: Uh, and it's like it's the first time we've seen Piccolo Jr.
- 32:30SPEAKER_01: acknowledged in like seven episodes or so.
- 32:34SPEAKER_01: Like with his face.
- 32:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I was gonna say, since we started getting into the filler episodes, we haven't seen him.
- 32:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 32:39SPEAKER_01: Like the hardcore filler episodes.
- 32:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 32:40SPEAKER_02: Like the full filler.
- 32:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:43SPEAKER_01: But it like so, and I did get spoiled for like the um thumbnail for preliminary on peril, where I believe I saw King Chapa.
- 32:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:53SPEAKER_02: Well, he's also in the picture of the game.
- 32:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's in the picture, but I did like see him, so I'm assuming preliminary pearl he's at least showing up at once, but I don't think he's gonna be the main focus, probably.
- 33:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's uh that's probably true.
- 33:05SPEAKER_02: Um just like what do you think changes is?
- 33:07SPEAKER_02: Changes.
- 33:13SPEAKER_01: Maybe the gang, like the boys get to like to the tower and Goku like fully like learns how to control like and like channel spiritual energy and stuff like that.
- 33:27SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 33:27SPEAKER_01: It's like the last like the end of all of the training arcs, kind of sort of.
- 33:32SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 33:34SPEAKER_02: Alright, and then let's see what about uh preliminary peril.
- 33:38SPEAKER_02: What do you think is gonna be?
- 33:40SPEAKER_01: Obviously, the tournament starts.
- 33:42SPEAKER_01: The tournament is starting.
- 33:43SPEAKER_01: Um we'll see King Choppa at least what King Choppa, I want to guess King Choppa is fighting.
- 33:52SPEAKER_01: King Choppa.
- 33:53SPEAKER_01: Honestly, honestly, I think King Choppa gets curved by Piccolo Jr.
- 33:57SPEAKER_01: in the tournament.
- 33:58SPEAKER_02: And beat easily by Piccolo Jr.
- 34:05SPEAKER_01: That's like that's Piccolo Jr.'s first linear round.
- 34:08SPEAKER_01: Okay, that's what I'm guessing.
- 34:10SPEAKER_02: Okay, we'll put that in there.
- 34:11SPEAKER_01: That's like a way to like, oh Piccolo Jr.'s here.
- 34:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I can see that.
- 34:15SPEAKER_01: I can tell everyone else, like, oh no, something's going on.
- 34:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 34:19SPEAKER_01: Alright, okay.
- 34:20SPEAKER_02: Uh Jesse, what's your worst part?
- 34:23SPEAKER_01: Uh you're good.
- 34:26SPEAKER_01: There's not really anything that's horrible.
- 34:29SPEAKER_02: The only thing I have is the whole thing we talked about during the Goku stuff.
- 34:33SPEAKER_02: Where it's like, it doesn't make any sense that Goku hasn't picked it up already because he knows how it felt, and he's being told in multiple different ways what to tap into whatever that was that you had.
- 34:45SPEAKER_02: And I feel like we've seen him do that before, where he's like, oh, thing is kind of like a thing.
- 34:51SPEAKER_02: Like maybe I can make that thing into a thing.
- 34:53SPEAKER_02: And so for me, that that was the part that that bugged me the most while watching these episodes.
- 34:58SPEAKER_02: It's not the that's not an awful part, it's just the worst part of these two episodes, in my opinion.
- 35:05SPEAKER_02: Again, not like it was awful.
- 35:06SPEAKER_02: It's not like it doesn't mean those were the worst parts ever, but like I don't know.
- 35:13SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 35:14SPEAKER_01: I mean like that's the only thing you bring up that's that's worth it, really.
- 35:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 35:18SPEAKER_01: I guess if I'm like nitpicking, it's like her older brother just annoys me.
- 35:24SPEAKER_01: Because it's like you were also trying to convince the elder to leave, and then the like the problem gets solved.
- 35:31SPEAKER_01: And you're like, obviously the elder was right the whole time.
- 35:35SPEAKER_01: It's like it's like, come on, man, shut up.
- 35:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 35:37SPEAKER_01: I guess if I've got to nitpick something.
- 35:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'll take that.
- 35:41SPEAKER_02: Um, Jesse, best part.
- 35:43SPEAKER_02: I feel like there's a couple of good options here.
- 35:44SPEAKER_01: There's a good options, there's a good option here.
- 35:46SPEAKER_00: Uh I would like to send out my regards to Congratulations to you, and you really, you really stopped that lava email interesting one lava flow.
- 36:00SPEAKER_02: Dude Okay, well, I'm gonna give an honorable mention to Krillin and his being the MVP of these two episodes.
- 36:08SPEAKER_02: Krillin being drop Krillin's all is a fun one.
- 36:10SPEAKER_02: But I have to go with my boy Yamcha because for once in his life, Yamcha has been actually useful for something.
- 36:18SPEAKER_02: He was able to actually stop the lava the first time.
- 36:21SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 36:22SPEAKER_02: And so, like, and it was fully on his own where he's like, water, water plus fire equals no fire.
- 36:30SPEAKER_02: I make water and I win.
- 36:33SPEAKER_01: I just love the T in moment with like the making two flows.
- 36:37SPEAKER_01: Because it's like it's it's that classic joke format of like we're gonna stop the problem, and the problem just multiplies.
- 36:44SPEAKER_01: And it's not just like a Hydra thing, it's like it happens all the time in different shows.
- 36:47SPEAKER_01: It's like, we s we did it! We saved the oh no.
- 36:52SPEAKER_02: We made it worse.
- 36:54SPEAKER_02: They're all our celebrating in TN is like smugly like yeah, and then it's just like it was like it was pretty good comedic timing.
- 37:06SPEAKER_02: Open Sydney! Okay, no.
- 37:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 37:12SPEAKER_02: So, anyways, I'll start a blast.
- 37:15SPEAKER_02: Um, started blasting.
- 37:18SPEAKER_02: Um, but yeah, that was that they were that was some good parts, honestly.
- 37:22SPEAKER_02: Um there's some good moments in the episode.
- 37:24SPEAKER_02: The the episodes, again, these are mostly skippable.
- 37:27SPEAKER_02: Uh like all of these completely exclusively anime are are are all completely skippable.
- 37:33SPEAKER_02: There's nothing like like anytime we have a group of these episodes where they're all exclusively anime, you can skip them.
- 37:40SPEAKER_02: That doesn't mean they're not fun.
- 37:42SPEAKER_02: They were fun, but they have no bearing on what's going on.
- 37:44SPEAKER_01: I'm always the type of person, like, I want to watch every episode at least once.
- 37:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 37:49SPEAKER_01: When I'm watching when I'm watching my first playthrough, but wholeheartedly on like if this was a second or third or fourth uh like watch watch through.
- 37:59SPEAKER_02: You can start bouncing around to the ones that you like of these and get rid of the rest of them.
- 38:03SPEAKER_01: You can skip all the fills around the episode.
- 38:05SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 38:05SPEAKER_02: You can fully skip them if you like the ones particularly, you can always go back and watch them.
- 38:10SPEAKER_02: But like overall, these are episodes you can completely just bounce past.
- 38:13SPEAKER_02: But I'm glad you listened to us talk about it.
