Speaker 1: Here's your host, Alex.
0:08
Speaker 2: All right, well, you know what we did last weekend
0:10
Speaker 2: around this time, although not the Saturday edition, but we
0:13
Speaker 2: did go to see Fanatics Fest and cover it for
0:16
Speaker 2: this podcast, and first of all, to get that badge
0:20
Speaker 2: I said, one leg up with Alex Garrett and Fanatics
0:22
Speaker 2: Fest as media was pretty special and that's a credential
0:26
Speaker 2: I'll hold on to for a long time and build
0:29
Speaker 2: off of it as we continue to build the connection
0:32
Speaker 2: with Fanatics, with Michael Rubin and the team there Fanatics
0:36
Speaker 2: and of course my affiliate manager Wade helping us out
0:40
Speaker 2: with another ticket for Gabby after we were the first
0:44
Speaker 2: affiliate to make us sale for fanatics Best Tickets. Thanks
0:48
Speaker 2: to Caleb. Thank you Ryan for stopping by the Alex
0:52
Speaker 2: you the affiliate shop if you will. But I realize
0:57
Speaker 2: I didn't play audio from that event yet like I
1:00
Speaker 2: did last year, and because we were there just two
1:03
Speaker 2: days this year due to circumstances, we.
1:06
Speaker 1: Did get audio within those two days of that I
1:10
Speaker 1: want to share with you right here and let's start, shall.
1:16
Speaker 2: We with the announcement. The announcement of the first ever
1:21
Speaker 2: Fanatics Games winner. You won't believe who it is, or
1:27
Speaker 2: maybe you will, because the guy just can't stop winning anything.
1:32
Speaker 2: Take a listen to this from Pete Rosenberg of ESPN
1:36
Speaker 2: New York. He doesn't like he told about.
1:41
Speaker 1: And he did it and still and the.
1:45
Speaker 3: Winner of one million dollars give it.
1:47
Speaker 4: Up for top granted, And that was cool.
2:03
Speaker 2: I mean, how many times has Brady been surrounded by
2:05
Speaker 2: confetti after winning a Super Bowl? So to do it
2:07
Speaker 2: on the Fanatics Best stage pretty cool as well. Now
2:14
Speaker 2: here was something interesting, he he.
2:20
Speaker 1: And I will say this for later.
2:21
Speaker 2: He called Eli Manning Marion Rivera for Eli's accuracy during pitching.
2:27
Speaker 1: But with the Fanatics Games, I'm inspired, Michael Rubin include
2:32
Speaker 1: disabled athletes in there. I will compete next year in
2:36
Speaker 1: the Fanatics Games and see what I could do. Especially
2:40
Speaker 1: when Brady made the announcement five thousand dollars to every
2:43
Speaker 1: part that's a bit that was there.
2:46
Speaker 2: I would vie for that. I would vy to be
2:49
Speaker 2: part of that next year. It would be the natural
2:51
Speaker 2: evolution from the Games for the Physically Challenged to the
2:55
Speaker 2: Fanatics Games. Gabby, would you come out and support that effort?
3:00
Speaker 2: And that we would because I looked at the events pitching.
3:05
Speaker 1: I've done pitching before striking in the UFC.
3:08
Speaker 2: I guess I don't exactly know what that entails, but
3:10
Speaker 2: I learned on the go, and then you've got.
3:15
Speaker 1: The kicking the soccer.
3:16
Speaker 2: I love doing soccer, and then of course NHL accuracy.
3:20
Speaker 2: I did hit a couple of targets last year at
3:22
Speaker 2: Fanatics Fest twenty twenty four. So I think next year,
3:28
Speaker 2: if it works out, I will compete in the Fanatics Games,
3:32
Speaker 2: and I'll have a little entourage like everybody does. Uh.
3:35
Speaker 2: Not as big as say Kevin Hart's entourage or Brady's,
3:40
Speaker 2: but I'll have a little bit of a showmanship to it.
3:43
Speaker 2: I guess I would love to do that. I would
3:46
Speaker 2: love to make it part be part of anax Fest
3:50
Speaker 2: in that way in twenty twenty five. At twenty twenty six,
3:53
Speaker 2: it just as I say, would feel like a natural progression.
3:59
Speaker 1: But Tom Brady is not going to keep the one
4:04
Speaker 1: million he won.
4:04
Speaker 2: He said he's gonna domnate it to charity and the
4:07
Speaker 2: other competitors get five thousand dollars. A pretty cool gesture
4:12
Speaker 2: by Brady and a selfless act for sure.
4:18
Speaker 1: So that was a maybe maybe.
4:20
Speaker 2: Off the field, Brady has changed a bit and become
4:23
Speaker 2: a little less selfless and a little more about the
4:27
Speaker 2: people in his ventures post a post football, I meant
4:33
Speaker 2: a little more selfless and a little less selfish, because
4:36
Speaker 2: you know, on the field, he was a competitor and
4:38
Speaker 2: he would walk off the field after he won or
4:41
Speaker 2: lost a Super Bowl, really and that was not really cool.
4:45
Speaker 2: But you know what, he's been sured I think since
4:48
Speaker 2: being off the field and raising his kids.
4:52
Speaker 1: So and maybe the divorce did to humble him a
4:55
Speaker 1: little bit as well.
4:57
Speaker 2: So to Brady as he works on his own ventures
5:02
Speaker 2: now and wins that million and is continuing to win
5:07
Speaker 2: at life.
5:08
Speaker 1: Apparently now he's dating Sidney Sweeney.
5:10
Speaker 2: That's kind of the breaking news of the day according
5:13
Speaker 2: to my buddy Ryan in Pagg's perspective, So there you go,
5:16
Speaker 2: a little more Brady news for you. But that whole
5:21
Speaker 2: event being in the press area inspire me to do
5:24
Speaker 2: the fanatics schemes. And of course if we were in
5:28
Speaker 2: for Gabby wouldn't have gotten to see Ali Manning that close.
5:32
Speaker 2: I mean we could have, but she really jumps started
5:36
Speaker 2: that and Finags authentic reposting us was awesome, as was
5:42
Speaker 2: going to see a couple of different panels like Will
5:45
Speaker 2: Warren and talking Yanks at the Visa Center stage. And
5:50
Speaker 2: then let's not forget the Dick Sporting Good stage, Wade Boggs.
5:56
Speaker 1: Talking with Xavier Scrugs.
6:00
Speaker 2: On their podcast, and I want to pull that little
6:02
Speaker 2: audio for you as well, because I thought Scrubs in
6:06
Speaker 2: a great job talking with way Wage Bonds.
6:13
Speaker 1: At Jabbett's the other day.
6:16
Speaker 3: Anything that you hold very near and dear to your heart.
6:20
Speaker 1: When I have.
6:22
Speaker 3: My first hit, my thousand hit, my fifth, five hundred,
6:25
Speaker 3: two thousand, fifteen, one hundred, two thousand, twenty, five hundred
6:28
Speaker 3: and three thousand. Actually Mike Hogan was the one that
6:32
Speaker 3: caught three thousand hit.
6:35
Speaker 1: Home run and gave it back to me.
6:38
Speaker 3: So I do have the three thousand and a shadow
6:41
Speaker 3: box with the bat and the ball. I have all
6:45
Speaker 3: my silver bats, my gold gloves. These are prize possessions.
6:52
Speaker 3: I mean, it's it's the hardware that you you get
6:55
Speaker 3: round the course of your career. And when people come
6:59
Speaker 3: over and hang out or something like that, they like
7:02
Speaker 3: to go in and look at the hard work. But
7:06
Speaker 3: all's are something my first home run and various things
7:10
Speaker 3: like that.
7:12
Speaker 2: And let me tell you, I think one of the
7:13
Speaker 2: biggest accomplishments for Wade Bogs not just winning the World Series,
7:17
Speaker 2: the riding on the horse back and all these accomplishments.
7:21
Speaker 2: He beat cancer as well, and I think it tends
7:24
Speaker 2: to congratulate him on his cancer being in remission. But
7:27
Speaker 2: that's a big story that Wade Boxes cancer in remission,
7:31
Speaker 2: thanks being to God.
7:32
Speaker 1: He looked great.
7:33
Speaker 2: He was able to be up on that stage, and
7:34
Speaker 2: he was doing a lot of things leading up to that,
7:37
Speaker 2: like at the David Adams.
7:37
Speaker 1: Grand opening in Herold Square.
7:43
Speaker 2: But he talked about a very special table that he
7:46
Speaker 2: got to bring home from the Yankees locker room that
7:54
Speaker 2: I believe he said, was we Mental and Ford. If
7:58
Speaker 2: I'm not mistaken, it's a table signed by both those men.
8:03
Speaker 1: Take a list.
8:05
Speaker 3: Locker gave me their table and Mickey Mantle had carved
8:11
Speaker 3: some things into it. Whitey Ford it carved some things in.
8:15
Speaker 3: So I have that and it's very special. And uh so,
8:19
Speaker 3: when when I left New York, I.
8:22
Speaker 1: Was walking out the door, Nick Priory.
8:25
Speaker 3: Walked over to me and says, hey, I want you
8:28
Speaker 3: to have this, and it's pretty.
8:30
Speaker 2: Specials I would say, I mean a table with Whitey
8:36
Speaker 2: Ford and Mickey Mantle and their their doodles or whatever
8:40
Speaker 2: was in that table.
8:41
Speaker 1: From them historic historic, so to catch those moments.
8:46
Speaker 2: And the interesting thing was, as you know, he is
8:49
Speaker 2: a Tampa legend as well, and while he's talking on
8:55
Speaker 2: that stage, next to him was Tom Brady throwing it,
8:59
Speaker 2: throwing the football around with the kids. At the Dicks
9:02
Speaker 2: Sporting Goods Exhibit. There were athletes walking around the entire thing.
9:09
Speaker 2: And next year we will be there for all three days.
9:12
Speaker 2: We'll make a point of it because these events last
9:16
Speaker 2: year and this year seem like can't miss events. And
9:22
Speaker 2: while we didn't get to see Cat, to see Tom
9:26
Speaker 2: Brady in person, and to see that whole panel, I mean,
9:30
Speaker 2: we got to see Dana White and UFC is her favorite.
9:33
Speaker 1: To see Dana White twice at the Canelo.
9:39
Speaker 2: And Crawford face off, which we have audio as well.
9:55
Speaker 1: This is when Crawford came out.
10:00
Speaker 2: Mh. But listen, listen to the roar when Canelo Alvarez
10:09
Speaker 2: walks out. I felt like the crowd was predominantly bro
10:16
Speaker 2: Canelo Alvarez. I could be wrong on that, but it
10:21
Speaker 2: just felt like it was very pro Canelo. Listen, now,
10:24
Speaker 2: rowdy is back. And then we did get audio of
11:16
Speaker 2: the face off and listen to what went down when
11:21
Speaker 2: the two men stood right in front of each other.
11:26
Speaker 2: I don't know if this was for show enough, but
11:27
Speaker 2: it got kind of heated. Some shoving, some pushing around,
11:49
Speaker 2: some wrangling of the two trying to get them back
11:51
Speaker 2: security the home.
11:52
Speaker 1: Melee, I don't know.
11:56
Speaker 2: My conspiracy had says they were paid a little lecture to,
11:59
Speaker 2: you know, drumming up because it is New York and
12:01
Speaker 2: because Netflix's big deal. I believe they're doing UFC that
12:06
Speaker 2: night as well, on September thirteenth. It was all promotion
12:09
Speaker 2: of their fight coming up in uh septem and as
12:13
Speaker 2: my fiance Gabby just reminded me, you can watch both
12:17
Speaker 2: events UFC and boxing simultaneously from Las Vegas.
12:22
Speaker 1: It will be insane. I've never been to a wait in.
12:27
Speaker 2: Away in a face off before, so it was kind
12:30
Speaker 2: of new. My fiance her dad love boxing, love UFC.
12:33
Speaker 2: I was not grown up around that. But there you go,
12:36
Speaker 2: a little different experience at fanatics Fest this year. As
12:40
Speaker 2: last year we saw the main stage of Jeter and Ortiz,
12:44
Speaker 2: this year they had the nine.
12:47
Speaker 1: Team there, Penn and Jorge Spike Lee was also there.
12:52
Speaker 2: Jeter h that was fun, but we were kind of
12:56
Speaker 2: rooming around the grounds because of the time of it
13:00
Speaker 2: all Friday, and of course trying to see you live
13:03
Speaker 2: for a minute.
13:03
Speaker 1: So it was a busy couple of days. And to
13:07
Speaker 1: end it with.
13:10
Speaker 2: The closing ceremonies and seeing Kevin Hart rolling with a Porsche,
13:14
Speaker 2: and then justin Gatchee, the usc UFC fighter actually got
13:19
Speaker 2: seconds we rolled out with that Ferrari.
13:22
Speaker 1: Actually that was a pretty cool moment as well. So
13:26
Speaker 1: good times were had.
13:28
Speaker 2: More good times to go and I cannot forget Uptown
13:32
Speaker 2: Sports TV. We ran into him in the autographing area,
13:35
Speaker 2: Hector and also BT Bren and Tierney of WFA and
13:40
Speaker 2: got to see him for a bit again this year.
13:43
Speaker 2: And let me tell you him and Oral Herscheiser, former
13:47
Speaker 2: major league pitcher and pitching coach legend now on mb TV.
13:52
Speaker 1: He was literally on mob Network.
13:54
Speaker 2: But before that he said come on over here, guys,
13:56
Speaker 2: so we took a picture with him, and of course
13:59
Speaker 2: he's now the third baseball player to ask Gabby if
14:01
Speaker 2: she's gonna actually marry me.
14:03
Speaker 1: I find fuddy him.
14:05
Speaker 2: Tino Martinez and Tommy John all out in essense of humor,
14:09
Speaker 2: and BT's like, when's the wedding, so that's uh, we
14:14
Speaker 2: want to announce that when when things become more official.
14:17
Speaker 2: But but overall, it was nice to have Gabby with
14:21
Speaker 2: me and guiding me really throughout the whole weekend. And
14:26
Speaker 2: then we run to Hector of Uptown Sports TV and
14:29
Speaker 2: even he stopped for a bit of an interview with me.
14:33
Speaker 1: Before the big closing ceremonies happened. And here's what Hector is.
14:43
Speaker 2: I worked to pull it up here for you told
14:47
Speaker 2: me about how he was there on Sunday and had
14:51
Speaker 2: had a blast and Access twenty twenty five.
14:56
Speaker 1: Were with Uptown Sports TV.
14:57
Speaker 4: Actor hasn't been for your access this year.
15:00
Speaker 1: Fanatics Fress has been amazing.
15:01
Speaker 4: Shout out to Fanatics Fas twenty twenty five.
15:03
Speaker 1: I missed the first two days and I was able
15:05
Speaker 1: to be here seeing all the different content creat to
15:07
Speaker 1: see yourself if I got you well, All Star media
15:10
Speaker 1: has been amazing.
15:10
Speaker 3: I got what have you been today?
15:12
Speaker 1: One's been today?
15:13
Speaker 2: Like today my my all time favorite player of full
15:16
Speaker 2: time with Addai to have the Lucas gets.
15:18
Speaker 1: Some quartal to add Anoposi said that was pretty dope.
15:20
Speaker 1: You got the w guy set up over there and
15:23
Speaker 1: bring the ticky.
15:23
Speaker 2: You got the.
15:24
Speaker 1: Drums in the background.
15:25
Speaker 4: Yes, you get the drums and at one point things
15:28
Speaker 4: uphos points.
15:29
Speaker 1: TV go Uptown Sports TV is amazing. Also shout out
15:32
Speaker 1: to Latino Sports. The only reason I get to go
15:35
Speaker 1: over the field and then to be the baseball players.
15:37
Speaker 4: It can't because the Latino Sports and audio by own amen.
15:42
Speaker 4: Can I get a name?
15:43
Speaker 3: Man?
15:43
Speaker 2: As one Lucas for our said, well, that's a bit
15:46
Speaker 2: of the recap from the weekend. I did not get
15:48
Speaker 2: to see Joe Montana, but these things have a cycle. Okay,
15:52
Speaker 2: so we took a picture of Eli signing a helmet
15:54
Speaker 2: and finans authentic.
15:56
Speaker 1: What are the odds in six months from now, We're
15:58
Speaker 1: gonna get a picture of them somewhere down the road
16:00
Speaker 1: when Giant season is up.
16:01
Speaker 2: It always works like that, right Yavin, It does, so
16:06
Speaker 2: we'll see what happens.
16:06
Speaker 1: But that's it for now.
16:08
Speaker 2: Got a shout out also the fellow fans of the game,
16:14
Speaker 2: Chris Caleb, Lindsay Zerla and Caleb All who we ran
16:17
Speaker 2: into as well. During Fina X Pest. It was like
16:19
Speaker 2: the whole sports community came together at Javits for that
16:23
Speaker 2: big weekend in June. Thanks to finax best, thanks to Shannon,
16:26
Speaker 2: thanks to Michael Rubin for having us as an entity
16:29
Speaker 2: there with the One Leg Up Network, and we pray
16:33
Speaker 2: we got to do it again, even bigger and better
16:34
Speaker 2: in twenty twenty six
