- 2:18Hello everybody and welcome back to the show, I'm your host will
- 2:21Walden. And on this episode, we're going
- 2:24to be talking about cyber truck in the demonstration that Elon
- 2:28Musk and company did a couple days ago.
- 2:32Well there was a little bit of a snafu during that and the snafu
- 2:36was that they threw a steel ball, a metal ball into the
- 2:41windows of cyber truck. Just say like hey these things
- 2:46are bulletproof. We can throw whatever we an atom
- 2:49and nothing's going to happen to him.
- 2:52But something did happen to him the windows cracked the windows
- 2:56smashed, the front window, big old dent in that thing the back
- 3:02window. Same thing.
- 3:04It looks like the front window was a little bit worse than the
- 3:06back window and Elon Musk actually tweeted why this
- 3:13happened, right? So he was a little bit
- 3:16embarrassed when they happen. He pretty much said, we got some
- 3:19R&D to do some stuff happens. Looked a little bit embarrassed
- 3:23on stage, he laughed it off. Like it was no big deal and said
- 3:26they have two years to fix this and figure out why this
- 3:29happened. It didn't go through the window
- 3:34because if it went through the window that would be a huge,
- 3:37huge deal. But I just like other car
- 3:39windows. They're meant to kind of break a
- 3:42little bit if something bad were to happen.
- 3:45So if you know if you needed to get into a car because somebody
- 3:51else was trapped in it, there's a way to break into it, so way
- 3:55to smash the glass, it looked like something out of that kind
- 4:00of Reception to a tool, right? So, there's a big hole in it,
- 4:05that actual hold, just some shattered glass.
- 4:08And, you know, it's fine, didn't go through into the driver seat.
- 4:12So, Ilan, said that the demonstration didn't work out
- 4:18well, because They hit the side of the car, with a sledgehammer.
- 4:25Elon Musk will Rob adeeb said. I know the real reason behind
- 4:31the window crack. It's okay.
- 4:32He'll on, but maybe you should have thrown the ball of the
- 4:36window before you decided to hit the door with a sledgehammer.
- 4:39It was on Twitter and Elon Musk said, yep, Sledgehammer impact
- 4:43on door cracked base of class, which is why steel ball didn't
- 4:48bounce off, should have done steel ball on.
- 4:51Do then Sledgehammer, the door and he said, next time.
- 4:57So, Elon is shown in other videos.
- 5:02This cyber truck windows are pretty damn tough.
- 5:07The steel ball throw at the Cyber truck, window was tweeted
- 5:11by Elon Musk, and Franz the guy who was on stage, when they did
- 5:15the Cyber truck event, he was the one that threw the ball at
- 5:19the window again, you know. So that's cool.
- 5:23Same guy, same ball, same window.
- 5:26So they have a lot of time before they go into production
- 5:30now. So this is got a weird though
- 5:33and this is this doesn't really add up to me if they hit the
- 5:37front door with a sledgehammer and it cracked the front window
- 5:43but it also cracked the back window so must have cracked the
- 5:47bottom and D stabilized. Something in in the In the
- 5:55chassis of the door that connects to the window, and the
- 5:59window must have cracked because of the vibrations from the door.
- 6:03Now in between now and 2020 to when you're going to get your
- 6:08cyber truck, there's going to be some refinements to this
- 6:11mechanism. I'm sure there's going to be
- 6:13some dampening. I'm sure because if you know
- 6:16what if you get you know what if something happens and you get
- 6:18smashed into on the side of your truck?
- 6:20What happens if you know, one of your buddies is like a At what
- 6:23really? Let me check and see if this
- 6:25thing breaks and hits it with a sledgehammer himself, just to
- 6:27test it out. You can't be running around with
- 6:30windows that are cracked underneath and you don't know
- 6:32it. And then the windows break,
- 6:35that's not a cool thing to be involved with.
- 6:37So Elon Musk is putting these sort of protocols into the
- 6:43production line so we don't have to worry about our cyber trucks.
- 6:48I am on the fence myself. I would really love to get a
- 6:53cyber truck. I think it would be pretty cool.
- 6:55And I saw this really, really cool picture of a model 3 next
- 7:00to a cyber truck in the Cyber truck is huge compared to it.
- 7:05It looks cool. I mean, I had my first
- 7:07impressions podcast about it yesterday.
- 7:10So if you want to check back that to that episode of hear
- 7:14everything that I had to say about it, there's way more to
- 7:17and I could get into that for an hour probably about why I want
- 7:21to get a cyber truck. Why?
- 7:23I think it's pretty cool. The model 3 though, it's pretty
- 7:27tempting to me right now. Model 3 is more in my wheelhouse
- 7:30more, something that I would drive on a daily basis.
- 7:34Now, the Fact that the Cyber truck had sort of a weird thing
- 7:38happen in the unveiling event. Hey man, it happens, things
- 7:42happen all the time. Remember, I don't know how many
- 7:46of you have seen the video. It's an older video but I
- 7:49believe it's Windows 98, Microsoft Windows 98.
- 7:53When they were showing off the operating system and how cool it
- 7:55was. There's one of the windows
- 7:57versions, but they got the blue screen of death during the
- 8:02presentation and they had to reboot the PC.
- 8:05And they were just like, oh, that's not cool, but it's
- 8:09technology, you know, and Elon Musk is doing something
- 8:13different. It's a whole it's a steel car
- 8:15like it's a steel truck. Totally different than a Ford
- 8:18F-150. Totally different than any other
- 8:21truck out there totally different than any of their
- 8:23vehicle that you'll have on the road at this time.
- 8:26So I mean they have the manufacturing to make a steel
- 8:30and why not? Right may as well.
- 8:32I mean they make Starships out of the stuff so they might as
- 8:35well make these cyber trucks out of it, to get to be cool man.
- 8:40The next couple of years, things are going to happen that are
- 8:42going to change the landscape of electronic Vehicles.
- 8:47If electric vehicles Eevee's, if you will.
- 8:50And most of the major brands that are out there right now are
- 8:55going to have some sort of stake in this game.
- 9:01The new Mustang SUV has just been announced, you know, about
- 9:05a week ago. One of those competitors to Elon
- 9:10musk's Tesla vehicles. But you know I was checking out
- 9:14the website. I was checking out the Mustang
- 9:17sight to see what the range was and you could compare all the
- 9:20models. You could compare all the models
- 9:23and I didn't see a range, and then when the range was, I had
- 9:28to go back to like their normal page, their Mustang page, and
- 9:31check it out. And when I check that out, it
- 9:34was 300, but it wasn't a real complete number.
- 9:39It was 300 ish, you know, the wording was kind of weird and I
- 9:43don't want to go back there right now and check it out.
- 9:46But the wording was kind of weird and know it's a perception
- 9:50thing. If I want to get an Eevee, do I
- 9:53want to get it from somebody who's going to tell me, okay,
- 9:56this thing has the possible range of 325 miles.
- 10:00Or do I have to say to myself? It's gonna get around 300 and
- 10:04the charging stations for the Mustang.
- 10:06This is kind of like an off thing here.
- 10:08There was a, there's no specific charging stations that are
- 10:13listed on their map. If you go to Teslas site, you
- 10:17can see every single charging station ever.
- 10:21For Tesla, you can see exactly where they are on a map and
- 10:25you'll know as a buyer. If you're going to spend 40
- 10:29grand, 50 Grand on a car. You want to know exactly where
- 10:32your chargers are so Mustang getting into the whole EV thing,
- 10:39it's going to be crazy in the next couple of years, they have
- 10:42to refine their process, and I'm going to do an EV take on the
- 10:47Mustang as well, that UV Mustang.
- 10:49So that's going to be another episode.
- 10:51But for now we figured out why the windows of cyber truck got
- 10:55broken. By the way, we're trending,
- 10:57pretty good in the technology category of iTunes, of Apple
- 11:04podcast. So if you could do me a huge
- 11:07favor, I want to get to number one.
- 11:08We're at number 34 right now. And if you could go to Apple
- 11:13podcasts and give me a ranking, you know, a rating of, you know,
- 11:19let's go. 48 Stars. Per person, that would be really
- 11:22cool. I'm just, okay, whatever you
- 11:24feel. This is worth, please go to
- 11:27Apple podcast and gimme a rating, right?
- 11:30A little review. If you want to, these are always
- 11:32little short ones, I don't do really long ones.
- 11:35So I want to say thank you to everybody who's been paying
- 11:37attention and checking out the site.
- 11:39Checking out the show. Checking out my other podcast to
- 11:41space news pod. That's all for nerdy.
- 11:45Nerdy space nerds like myself. So check that one out too.
- 11:48So up to that and check out the YouTube channel.
- 11:50Space news pod. A.com.
- 11:51I'm also making another YouTube channel specifically for Elon
- 11:55Musk content. So my friends, I want to say
- 11:59thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to spend it
- 12:02here with me. And my name is Will Walden.
- 12:05I've been your host, I'll see you soon.
