- 0:00I'm Abby and I'm Anna. And this is serious beef
- 0:03welcome. Welcome, spooky beef.
- 0:06It is we forgot to say that. We forgot to say that and you
- 0:09know. What?
- 0:10What? The new album is Orange Oh.
- 0:13That's a color. And she really knocked over.
- 0:15Oh. Abby's excited.
- 0:17The album is out. Dropped a new album.
- 0:19The album was on album we recorded last time.
- 0:21It's true. It's true.
- 0:22It's out. It's out now.
- 0:24We've listened. To it I'm obsessed.
- 0:26We love it. It's very good.
- 0:27It's very good. I I mean, I I've liked I like
- 0:31all of her albums, right? You know some of them I I like
- 0:35more than others or speak Now is my favorite love lover. 1989 is
- 0:41of course a Bob. This is this one's gonna.
- 0:45You loved her original? The first.
- 0:47The first one listened all the time.
- 0:48Is it just like her name? Taylor.
- 0:50Yeah, we everybody calls it Debut.
- 0:52Debut because it's just her name.
- 0:53Yeah, but she loved that. Love it.
- 0:58You fell in love with Taylor and then grew up?
- 1:00Grew up together, yes. I think she, she, she was born
- 1:04in eighty, 1989. So she's about four years older
- 1:06than me, correct. So, yeah, no, it's it.
- 1:08That's very fun. Well, listen, we'll get into
- 1:11that. Let's get to the beat.
- 1:12Let's get to the beat. Let's do this in the right.
- 1:14Let's get to the beef first, shall we?
- 1:16You want to say it or you want me to say it?
- 1:18What's? The beef.
- 1:18What's the beef? We were both complaining today
- 1:21because we noticed that our hands are shaky and I'm going to
- 1:27tell you when you're trying to do anything that requires.
- 1:30Fine motor skills and your hands shake even just a little bit
- 1:34It's pain, man it's a difficulty yeah, it's a difficulty in your
- 1:36life We're we're across the bear.
- 1:38I guess I don't know because it's really annoying.
- 1:40I noticed it first when I'll I'll be painting miniatures and
- 1:44I'll see my my paintbrush. I'm like keep it together and I
- 1:48literally will do this thing. I don't have a good.
- 1:52So this is my mini here I'm going to use my pen.
- 1:54I will pinky, yes, I will brace my pinky against it.
- 1:59And then because then I'm not like shaking out any of your
- 2:02hands. Yes, a little bit better.
- 2:06That's it helps a little bit. It's a good strategy.
- 2:09Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know we all have to find
- 2:11Kobe skills for our our thing or another.
- 2:15Right. So, yeah, what what did you
- 2:17notice your. I mean, I'm sure he knows you
- 2:20said all the time, but what specifically what, what activity
- 2:24were you doing? I'm.
- 2:24Trying to make bracelets. Oh, OK.
- 2:27Lots of different kinds of fun beads and whatnot.
- 2:29And we'll make, you know, we'll make bracelets keep up passing.
- 2:32But today we were making bracelets for Tay Tay's new
- 2:37album. Yes.
- 2:38And we're both trying to string the string, the beads and answer
- 2:42Shane. It makes it difficult, Yeah.
- 2:45Well, cuz I've got some Co workers in Kansas City and
- 2:48they're all Swifties. And so I, I was going to, I do,
- 2:53I went to visit them. I didn't go to visit them.
- 2:56I went to visit the branch and all that kind of stuff.
- 2:59But I went out, went out to Kansas City.
- 3:02They're all super nice and, and whatnot.
- 3:04And so I figured I got to make them, I got to make them a
- 3:09little sum sum, you know, especially, you know, like I
- 3:11said, they're all Swifties. The album's out.
- 3:13I think that's really fun. Yeah, I gotta.
- 3:17Yeah, I'm gonna send that. Send those excellent on the
- 3:20company's dime. Look at the send it to the
- 3:23bargaining D whatever you Becca. That'll work there.
- 3:27That will work so yeah, can't wait for them to open it up and
- 3:30it's like what Abby's are doing stuff so priceless.
- 3:33I think they're going to be really excited.
- 3:35Oh man, because they look I could because we already we only
- 3:38we've only made 2 so. Far no, and I kind of mixed them
- 3:41for now. I'm thinking about Mandy and
- 3:42Eric can need some bracelets too, so we'll have to.
- 3:44Well, of course, we've only made two so far.
- 3:46And so far those two they're. Cute.
- 3:48We'll have to We'll post a picture.
- 3:49We'll. Post a pic, I will write that
- 3:51down. We'll post a picture.
- 3:52And yeah, it's gonna, they're, they're turning out very
- 3:55adorable. So, mm, hmm.
- 3:57Yeah, absolutely. Right.
- 3:59Well, 'cause we didn't go to the the Aristo concert, of course we
- 4:03did go to the movie. And I remember going to the
- 4:05movie and I was like, I don't think that you guys would want,
- 4:08at the time you were not making bracelets.
- 4:10And I was like, I don't think that they would want to do that.
- 4:13And I didn't think Ash would want to.
- 4:14So I didn't bring it up even though I knew people believe.
- 4:17She didn't bring it up. She knows I'm down for just
- 4:19about. I didn't, I did not think that
- 4:21they would want to do that. So we didn't make any.
- 4:23But these, this mom and we probably talked about this when
- 4:26we saw it, but this mom and all these little girls come out,
- 4:28they're all excited. They went to an earlier show
- 4:31like normal people because they probably bought their tickets
- 4:34earlier than we did. 10:00 PM to the. 3 1/2.
- 4:38Hour airs, tour. That was a late night, but that
- 4:42was so fun. I'd do it again, yeah.
- 4:44Do I would too. That was a lot.
- 4:46Of fun that was so fun and they come out they were really
- 4:49excited they're like you guys want some bracelets and we're
- 4:51like sure now these girls are like 5-8 ten years old and none
- 4:58of these bracelets fit any of us these bracelets were made by
- 5:01children 4. Children, they are very, very
- 5:04cute I think we got one or two that like they're fit better.
- 5:07There was maybe one or two that we could actually get on without
- 5:10cutting off our circulation or breaking them.
- 5:12Yes, I. I was so funny.
- 5:14I had tiny wrists, but I have enormous.
- 5:16Hands. But then she has big hands, so
- 5:18yeah, I was. Like so if we can get over my
- 5:20hand, usually I'm okay as long as but even even for me they're
- 5:25a little. Small so that was that was
- 5:27adorable. So we're like, okay, of course
- 5:29we need to make our own now. Yes.
- 5:30So that's, that's we've been having fun with that.
- 5:34But, and then I can't wait to to hear their response when they
- 5:39open it up because they're going to love it.
- 5:41Yeah, we're just going to love it because I'm sorry, what girl
- 5:43doesn't love a bracelet? Oh no.
- 5:45I know. And the one that her daughter is
- 5:47also going to do something to make her.
- 5:48She's a reputation girl. He's I got to make her.
- 5:50We're going to. Fuck the picture that's from red
- 5:54animal. Learn your Learn your eras.
- 5:59Jesus, I don't know the eras. That's from the all too well. 10
- 6:02minute version. How old is her daughter?
- 6:05Young. She's young, so we're not going
- 6:07to make her that. We're not going to.
- 6:08Make her that. No, no.
- 6:12So. That's hilarious.
- 6:13Well, we actually just went to another Taylor Swift movie.
- 6:17We did. Had to go back up to over the
- 6:18only AMC shows these it's either go to Edwardsville or go over to
- 6:22Saint Louis because AMC yes shows these this these her
- 6:26movies. Why I don't know, but we went to
- 6:28a what was it? It was a.
- 6:30Listening party they it was it was the like album release
- 6:34party. Party.
- 6:35Yes yeah, cuz it was just for that weekend, the life.
- 6:37Of a showgirl. The life of a showgirl, yeah.
- 6:41Let's do it check it out. It's we love it.
- 6:42We're having fun with it. So fun.
- 6:45So they did. They had a they had a debut type
- 6:49party where you they showed the brand new music video for the
- 6:54fate of Ophelia. That's the lead single.
- 6:56And which is we love it. It's excellent.
- 6:58And then then they showed the making of how, how she made it.
- 7:01She directed it. Right.
- 7:03Yes. Yeah, she did so good and she
- 7:05was very fun to watch her directing this this making of
- 7:09this video because she's still such a girl.
- 7:12And every time something she likes something or it went right
- 7:16or the her crew made something that looked amazing, she would
- 7:21get so excited and just be like such a kid again, you know, it
- 7:24was very cute. But and then they played all the
- 7:28songs. And they did a little interlude
- 7:31before each song where she kind of talked about what the song is
- 7:34about, you know, maybe some of the creative process, a really
- 7:37short 20 to 32nd kind of thing. And and then they played the the
- 7:41lyric video. And of course, we're all sitting
- 7:43there. We're singing along and singing
- 7:44along. It was.
- 7:45It was an absolute. We loved it, it was very fun.
- 7:48I had a ball. So, so we enjoyed it.
- 7:51Mayor went, mistakes were made. We did not go in Edwardsville.
- 7:54The AMC is there and if you go across the street, Annie's is
- 7:59over there. We should have went over there
- 8:00and got some. Ice cream.
- 8:00You're right. So.
- 8:02So mistakes were made, but it's OK, we still have a great.
- 8:06Time right it was very fun it was me and you and Ashley and
- 8:10mayor Yep love her oh food and it's got her her Coca-Cola and.
- 8:18They're doing the monopoly monopolies.
- 8:20Back, although now they only do the one.
- 8:22They only do the one well when you you've got only got 1 when
- 8:26you peel. That off I'm sure they used to.
- 8:28Have two. But Once Upon a time you used to
- 8:30have two. Cheap bastards, No.
- 8:33Yep. Yep.
- 8:34Oh. Boy.
- 8:35So, well, I'll give you my sauce.
- 8:38OK, go. What is your sauce?
- 8:40The sauce is. Heinz Heinz's limited edition
- 8:43ketchup and seemingly ranch sauce.
- 8:46What? That is the full name ketchup
- 8:48and seemingly ranch. OK, because early on when her
- 8:53and Travis were were dating, she goes to the game and you see she
- 8:56was dipping her like she had chicken fingers and like French
- 8:58fries. She's dipping them in what?
- 9:00And people were like, it looks like it's ketchup and seemingly
- 9:03ranch. And for some reason that's all
- 9:06things. So now so you you could for a
- 9:08limited time get ketchup and seemingly ranch, which I think
- 9:11sounds terrible together. That does sound terrible.
- 9:13I feel like it would have been more likely it was ketchup and
- 9:16Mayo. Some people like to mix those
- 9:18together. People do like to.
- 9:20I don't dip my stuff in that, but I put it on my burger.
- 9:25You know, I'll put ketchup and Mayo on my burger.
- 9:27That's a true. That's a true.
- 9:30I'll tell you what, it's not just Taylor Swift do can turn a
- 9:33phrase. Actually, only Taylor Swift can
- 9:36turn a phrase you know I cannot. That's a truth.
- 9:39That's a. True.
- 9:41Catch it on the TS13. Good.
- 9:43Great. Yeah.
- 9:45OK. So ketchup and ketchup and
- 9:47seemingly ranch is our sauce. It's literally called seemingly
- 9:50ketchup and seemingly ranch and nobody knows.
- 9:53We think it may be his ranch. That's hilarious.
- 9:56You don't know. But is this ranch in the sauce
- 9:58that you can buy because they say seemingly ransom.
- 10:00Really, it's it's a crapshoot. You don't.
- 10:02Know you're taking your life in your own hand.
- 10:04That's awesome. That's actually fantastic.
- 10:09Thank you very much, Heinz. That's.
- 10:10That's thank you, Heinz. So that's our that's our sauce
- 10:13there. OK.
- 10:14OK, well, you know what? Speaking of Taylor.
- 10:17OK, congratulations to Listener Taylor.
- 10:20Listener Taylor. Hello, baby.
- 10:22And in case we didn't say it, then congratulations listener
- 10:25Emily, who also had a baby. Oh yeah, and congratulations to
- 10:29listener Katie. And actually listener Brittany
- 10:32also had, Listener Brittany also had a baby, and listener Katie
- 10:36had babies a while ago. But congratulations to you as
- 10:38well. Listener, congratulations to
- 10:41everyone out there who's had babies, and honestly,
- 10:42congratulations to those of you who haven't.
- 10:46Congratulations to those of you who have fur babies.
- 10:49Congratulations to you who have food babies.
- 10:51It's hard if you have if. You have fur babies and and
- 10:55human babies. And and food babies, I think.
- 10:57It's true, I had a food baby the other night so Oh my goodness.
- 11:00So congratulations to everybody there you.
- 11:02Go. We'll just put it out there for
- 11:04everybody. Yes, we love you all and thanks.
- 11:06For this, I literally was saying I was like, Oh my God, wait,
- 11:07hold on. This person also have a baby.
- 11:09Oh, and this person had a OK, all right, everybody, we're not
- 11:11gonna leave anybody. Everybody's having babies.
- 11:13Either we leave them, or we might just leave everybody, who
- 11:15knows? I don't know Well, let me let's
- 11:19just I I I'm gonna because I'm obsessed.
- 11:21I'm gonna run through the album here real quick OK, go let's
- 11:24let's. So the lead single is is the
- 11:26fate of Ophelia. Yes.
- 11:28OK. And it's a short album listener.
- 11:29It's only 12 songs. It's.
- 11:30Like one of her shortest albums, which is.
- 11:32Fine. Yeah, whatever.
- 11:32Which is fine. We.
- 11:33Like all the songs so. It's always very good.
- 11:35Are you gonna do her little intro?
- 11:37Fate of Ophelia is is about Ophelia, which is Hamlet.
- 11:41Hamlet and controversial view. Shakespeare is so good.
- 11:46Shakespeare is so good. Yeah.
- 11:48But she said that. She said that in an interview.
- 11:49She was like, she's like Shakespeare.
- 11:51It's, you know, it's so good. Holds up.
- 11:52And I'm like, oh, my goodness, controversial takes.
- 11:54She likes Shakespeare. That's so funny.
- 11:59But she's driven mad by her. The men in her life and she
- 12:03drowns. That's that's the fate of
- 12:05Ophelia. But in the song the fate of
- 12:07Ophelia, she sings about how you know you, whoever you is.
- 12:12It's Travis, we think. It's.
- 12:14Travis saved her from, from the fate of Ophelia and, and now
- 12:19she's, you know, yeah, she's happy, happy.
- 12:22And the video is very, very, very cute.
- 12:25And it's it's, it's a Bob we. Like it a lot.
- 12:26Oh my God, yeah, so good. The second song is.
- 12:30Elizabeth Taylor Oh copyright claim literally the minute she
- 12:34starts the song. The way she says Elizabeth
- 12:36Taylor is like 11. It sucks, you men.
- 12:40Well, like the the course is like I cry my eyes Violet famous
- 12:44for having these Violet eyes. And then she said like why
- 12:49diamonds are forever. She says that later she does.
- 12:51The mayor leans over to me and think.
- 12:53Why Diamonds was her perfume? I'm like, Oh my God, thank God
- 12:57we brought you it. Was like, it was fine because it
- 12:59heard, I'm talking about. I was like, you know what?
- 13:01I don't think the the generation after us would know even with
- 13:06that. And so she's like, I'm like,
- 13:09yeah, let's help. So, yeah, White diamond.
- 13:10She she does that lying white diamonds.
- 13:12And we knew immediately that was her perfume.
- 13:14Yes, I did. She did all these, she did all
- 13:17these commercials where she's of course very beautiful.
- 13:19And you know. Diamonds are forever and.
- 13:22Oh yeah, the diamonds for her that.
- 13:24Might be jewelry, sort of for for a slogan, I don't know.
- 13:26But anyway, white diamonds are forever.
- 13:27That was her. That was her whole thing.
- 13:30That is diamonds are forever is a slogan for a jeweler.
- 13:33I just. Don't know who but.
- 13:34Yeah, now Opalite is the third song on the on the album.
- 13:40It's our favorite. It's my favorite.
- 13:41It's my favorite. I mean, I both love that.
- 13:43One now we both love Opals, which is funny.
- 13:46Taylor Swift and her mother also love Opals.
- 13:48And and it's Travis's birthstone, yes.
- 13:51Is he an October? Baby must be you must be.
- 13:53Yeah, yeah. His birthday was just last week.
- 13:55Oh, OK. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:57His birthday was just last week. So so she does this so Opalite,
- 14:01which I learned from her yes, she does a little intro to
- 14:04opalite saying that opalite is a man made Opal.
- 14:07Yep same as like you can make a man made diamond, you can make a
- 14:09man made any kind of gem. Yeah, just about yeah, I think.
- 14:12And so an Opalite is a man made Opal.
- 14:14And so she does the I actually really loved this intro.
- 14:17She talked about this, how you like the she liked the idea of
- 14:22that you can make your own happiness.
- 14:25And even though you're going to go through dark times, sometimes
- 14:28sad things, whatever, whatever it is you're going to go
- 14:30through, live because that's life is hills and valleys.
- 14:32You know, you have ups and downs you can push, you can either
- 14:35stay there or you can push through and, and make your own
- 14:38happiness and, and choose to be happy, right?
- 14:40Happiness doesn't just happen to you, right?
- 14:43You can choose and sometimes you have to work for it 100%, you
- 14:47know, and make it yourself and and that's.
- 14:49I thought it was really cute. I thought that was really and
- 14:51it's such a such a bop my. Favorite line is she's she says
- 14:55the line. She's just talking about dancing
- 15:01through the lightning strikes. Yes.
- 15:03And now my life is Opal light and it's just I love that so
- 15:08much because yeah, sometimes you're going to have those tough
- 15:11times, but I like the part and after the bridge that she goes,
- 15:15don't you sweat it, baby. I'm like every time.
- 15:17I love that part. I love it so much so that and
- 15:20it's it's also a bop. And so it's I think that album.
- 15:23There's several songs that I really, really.
- 15:25Love. Oh, but that's got to be my.
- 15:27Face I don't think I dislike any of the songs I.
- 15:28Don't hear dislike any of them no that you like more than
- 15:31others absolutely well. I think I I told you or somebody
- 15:35like we'll get to it, but one of the songs is probably I had
- 15:40ranked them all and it's my 12th song.
- 15:41I'm like, this is going to make it seem like I don't like this
- 15:43song. It's not true, but something has
- 15:46to be 12. Something has to be 12.
- 15:47So OK, what's next on the let's what's father figure?
- 15:50Father figure which after she gave the explanation of this, I
- 15:53thought that was really interesting.
- 15:55Yes, that that one is like sort of like the person singing takes
- 16:02another character kind of like under their wing and brings them
- 16:04up and then that character sort of betrays them and whatnot.
- 16:07It kind of backfires and she. Used to be like a mentor of this
- 16:11person, but then this person tries to, like you said, kind of
- 16:14stab him in the back of it's like, OK, you don't know who
- 16:16you're messing with. I take care of my family.
- 16:19Yes, the language, she says. You'll be sleeping with the
- 16:22fishes before you know you're drowning.
- 16:25Unlocked new. A new feeling in me, mafia boss.
- 16:28Mafia Boss, yeah, we absolutely, we are.
- 16:30We are absolutely bad bitches. And Mafia Boss, that was so
- 16:35cool. That was fun and I loved it.
- 16:37But yeah, that one's really interesting.
- 16:38That one's a little slower vibe. But there is a key change.
- 16:42There is and I love that. We love a key change.
- 16:44I wish Sam pointed this out as well.
- 16:46She wishes that in opalite that there had been a key change
- 16:49after the bridge and I agree. I agree.
- 16:52What is taken it from a 99 to 100?
- 16:55You can never go wrong with key chain.
- 16:56Key not I love AI, love a key change.
- 17:00All right after that is eldest daughter track 5.
- 17:03Track 5 is always historically her most vulnerable song, the
- 17:06vulnerable song. So it's like all 1210 minute
- 17:08version back to December. These are all track 5 songs and
- 17:13so eldest daughter is no different.
- 17:16The very vulnerable. Again, more on the slower.
- 17:20Side yes, it's sort of. This one is sort of like.
- 17:25A lot of eldest daughters relate to each other and I don't know
- 17:29what it is about it. And she said that too.
- 17:31She's like, it's pretty interesting because a lot of
- 17:33oldest daughters relate to each other so much on their
- 17:38experiences. Yes.
- 17:39And one of the things that the line in the in the song that got
- 17:42me was something about the eldest daughter is the not the
- 17:48sacrificial lamb. What's the?
- 17:49Line No, that is. Is that it?
- 17:51Yes, every eldest daughter was the first lamb to the slaughter.
- 17:54First lamb to the slaughter that's.
- 17:55What me and. Mayor literally sitting next to
- 17:57Jerry and we're just like they and they have always bonded
- 18:00because they are the oldest daughters.
- 18:02And it's so interesting where I was more of a middle kid, but I
- 18:06was the only other girl. Yeah.
- 18:08And so I was the baby girl, yes. So I was kind of a little bit
- 18:12more, excuse me, spoiled than her in a little bit, you know.
- 18:17Well, it wasn't the youngest in the family, but I was the
- 18:19youngest girl. And so sometimes there's a
- 18:20difference there. Well, I think that your parents
- 18:22are just naturally easier on younger siblings, not because
- 18:28they like them better, but because I think that they learn.
- 18:30Like sometimes it's also circum. Yes, Sir, it's circumstances.
- 18:33Yes, you're right. After you've parented one and
- 18:35then if you have especially an age gab and you parent, you
- 18:37might parent the other one a little.
- 18:38Bit right, Well, it's like these things that maybe I was more
- 18:40strict on with my oldest child. I realized those things don't
- 18:43matter, so I'm not going to. You wish those as hard, you
- 18:46know, maybe. You're a little more chilled,
- 18:47maybe you're old and maybe you're just tired, right?
- 18:49But, but yeah, but like the eldest, I mean, I, I mean, me
- 18:52and Mary are not just the oldest stars.
- 18:53We're the eldest. What's the oldest in any family?
- 18:55You kind of are the, you are the 1st.
- 18:57Plant of the salt, Yes, because you're the first one to go
- 18:59through everything. Yes.
- 19:01Yeah. And so the parents are learning
- 19:03with you. Yes, you know 100% what doesn't
- 19:06so 100% and and so I I agree. I heard that that and I was
- 19:11like, oh. Yeah, you guys have always
- 19:13bonded on being the oldest. And I, I think everybody can
- 19:16relate to that in some way because, because everybody's
- 19:19always, everyone has had that moment in their life where they
- 19:22feel like they are this lamb and the slaughter, you know, the
- 19:25sacrificial lamb, you know, 'cause they have to experience
- 19:29something first or whatever. And I think, I think that was a
- 19:33very, it's a very relatable. I love the line in there where
- 19:36she she talks about how I will never leave you, I will never
- 19:40leave you out. And I love that part because it
- 19:43kind of reminded me of you with Liv, where Liv is 8 years
- 19:47younger than you. Yeah, but you never.
- 19:50And sometimes you guys butted heads because you're very much
- 19:52alike and. But you know, when you could,
- 19:56you always included her. Yeah.
- 19:58You know, your friends would come over sleepovers.
- 20:00And you could have said no, you have to get away and not be here
- 20:02with my friend you. Let her be there with them,
- 20:05yeah. You took took her places like
- 20:07you never left her out, you know, and you to this day, like
- 20:13she used to come over and get a wave or whatever.
- 20:14She's welcoming your house, you know, even in.
- 20:17Well, and we've talked about that.
- 20:18I love the the underrated pairing of her and Ashley both
- 20:22being the youngest and their. Families and so they've kind of
- 20:25bonded and so, yes. Yes, I think, I love that.
- 20:30I think she was texting Olivia was texting Ashley literally
- 20:33Well, Ashley's photos connected to this laptop and so I will see
- 20:36the little I said just come in sometime and I saw one from
- 20:38Olivia coming in like she's asking Olivia to come over, but
- 20:42and that's fine. You know, I love that yes, so
- 20:45they they always they bond whatever, but it's a sweet.
- 20:48Song it's it's. Sweet.
- 20:49It's very good I. Like it.
- 20:51I like how the whole I will never leave you out, I will
- 20:54never leave you. That's so sweet.
- 20:55Yes, the next one is ruin the friendship now.
- 21:00Oh my God. OK, this song, this is upbeat
- 21:03song, upbeat song. It's going through.
- 21:05It's pretty upbeat and we're you know, you're vibe with it.
- 21:06It's This is why we both rank this number 12.
- 21:09And maybe we shouldn't give any spoilers.
- 21:11I don't know. Because the song itself, the
- 21:13message is very good. It's about take the chance.
- 21:16Yes, take the chance because you never know.
- 21:18Yeah, OK. You never know what's going to
- 21:20happen in life and if you know, if you don't, you're going to
- 21:24regret it. If you don't go for it, which
- 21:27with in any situation. And so that's kind of the
- 21:30message of the song. Maybe that's all we should say.
- 21:32Yes. Listen to.
- 21:33The there's a, there's a, there's a bridge twist, there's
- 21:36a bridge twist, there's a bridge twist, so.
- 21:37It was. It's good.
- 21:38It's a good song, but. Yeah, it is.
- 21:40So anyway, but we both still like.
- 21:42It I did, I did see a video of a girl who was listening to this
- 21:45song and she's like, I don't know, I don't know if I'm liking
- 21:47this song and she goes maybe the bridge will save it for me.
- 21:52You listen, you can't see my. Face.
- 21:54But yeah, well, I was. We stayed up late.
- 21:57The the The album was supposed to drop at 11:00 PM.
- 22:00Yes, it dropped a little early. A little few minutes early after
- 22:04music was crashing because so many people were.
- 22:06Listening to us. I'm at home and I'm listening.
- 22:08Abby's at home listening. We're time listening together,
- 22:10but it's not working. So it's like, hang up, listen to
- 22:12them, we'll call after he. Just right we're.
- 22:13Texting each other. So we're texting during the
- 22:15songs. So we're listening to the song.
- 22:16We're in the friendship and we're like, OK, OK, it's, you
- 22:19know, it's fun. And then it gets to the again,
- 22:21the bridge, the bridge. And I literally just texted
- 22:23Abby. Oh no.
- 22:24Oh no. So funny.
- 22:28That's all we'll say. Yes, it's very good, Very good
- 22:31of. Course a good.
- 22:33Song. We've just got to say this.
- 22:35No one could turn a phrase like Taylor.
- 22:36Her lyrics are incredible and so we do love that.
- 22:39Yeah, wish list with $2.00 signs.
- 22:42I love wishes. Yes, very cute.
- 22:44This one is very it is. I think it feels very midnight
- 22:50almost. OK, I get that.
- 22:51Yeah, but but she talks about how she does She talk in the
- 22:54song. She talks about this person
- 22:57wishes for this thing. This person wishes for a
- 22:59different, completely different thing.
- 23:00Oscar in the bathroom floor. You know this.
- 23:02Person wants all kinds of rich, wonderful things.
- 23:04And this person just wants maybe they just want the three dogs
- 23:08that they call their kids or whatever.
- 23:09So everybody wishes for different things and they
- 23:13deserve those things. Yeah.
- 23:14And she said those things. Yes.
- 23:15All I want is you. Yeah.
- 23:17And of course I hope I get what I want too.
- 23:19You know I. Have a couple of kids the whole
- 23:21block looking like you I love. That line, yeah, I was like the
- 23:24whole block looking like you, all tiny Travis's.
- 23:28Oh my God, we're watching. We're watching Kylie Kelsey's
- 23:31podcast, OK, briefly, and which is Jason Jason's.
- 23:36Brother Jason's wife. Wife yes they have 3 little
- 23:38girls. Yes they do So cute.
- 23:40And she's probably a great girl. Dad, Oh my God, he's very the
- 23:43best. She she posted a a clip of them
- 23:47because she was like, I love low energy mom or parent games or
- 23:52whatever and whatnot. And so she was like, we'll do
- 23:54makeovers and things like that. So we'll get like a little cup
- 23:57of water and then they can like paint on my face and things like
- 24:01that. She's like in the one really
- 24:03likes stickers. And so she show, she showed a
- 24:05clip of like, she has stickers all over her face and she turns
- 24:09the camera around and there's Jason across on his phone.
- 24:12Stickers all over his face, Yes. I yes, so good for him.
- 24:17Good for him. Yes, he loves them Sticker room.
- 24:20Yes, very sweet, but but Kylie Kelsey had said that that was
- 24:24her favorite song and she'd said the the line, the whole block.
- 24:28Look at like you. And she goes, I'll tell you
- 24:30what, the Kelsey jeans are strong.
- 24:32All three of her children look like look like they're down
- 24:35though they she goes, she goes. Now those Kelsey's, they make
- 24:37cute kids. I can't attest 'cause they are
- 24:40very they all through her daughters.
- 24:41Very adorable. She's very, very, very adorable.
- 24:44Yeah. So she's beautiful and Can you
- 24:46imagine? But she's some Taylor's kids.
- 24:48She said, she said the last one, her youngest one, she goes, I
- 24:52think I've lost the fight and she goes, it was, it was Ellie
- 24:54who broke me or whatever and I was legit.
- 24:56Legit, it's that youngest one that she's like, she was the
- 25:00youngest one also looks like him and she's like that was it.
- 25:05But yeah, the youngest one is is the most difficult.
- 25:09Well, it was it was because because she doesn't look like
- 25:11her. She's like that was it.
- 25:13That was she still didn't look like her.
- 25:14Didn't get one. Not one.
- 25:17Maybe they will when they get older, but as children they will
- 25:19so so. Like him, she'll be able to see
- 25:21it. They're so cute because I think
- 25:23it's funny because it's totally depends on it.
- 25:27I don't know, it's really weird. And I, I actually loved it,
- 25:30especially with like back when I was teaching and I would meet my
- 25:32students and I would meet their parents.
- 25:33Like, Oh my gosh, should they look just like come on or dad or
- 25:35whoever. And it was fun.
- 25:37That kind of fascinating. And legs are interesting.
- 25:40It's very interesting. And so, but even like I would go
- 25:43somewhere with you guys and people would say, like, Sam
- 25:47looks exactly like me. Oh, that's funny.
- 25:50And it's funny because I never saw it until I looked at now
- 25:53Sam, as I think when she was in high school, I was I took a
- 25:56picture of Sam in like a prom dress, that pink prom dress.
- 25:59Oh, OK. And I had a picture of my me and
- 26:02my wedding dress. Oh, OK.
- 26:04And then I saw it. Yeah.
- 26:05I saw her face. And I'm like, oh, my God, She is
- 26:09exactly me. And I always think that Olivia
- 26:12looks like her dad. Yeah.
- 26:15And we were somewhere and people were like, oh, my gosh, she
- 26:17looks exactly like you. And I'm like, really lived as
- 26:19I'm like, she really looks like her dad.
- 26:21And they're like, no, no, you're in there.
- 26:23I was like, OK, yeah, you know, And you look like.
- 26:26I always thought you look like Mayor So.
- 26:28But then again, I've been places where people were like, Oh my
- 26:30gosh, that's your mini. Me but but well, when I was
- 26:33growing up, I've seen pictures of you as a kid and pictures of
- 26:35me as a kid. We look.
- 26:36Identical we do. We do 100% and I've got your
- 26:39hair. I think I got Dad's mouth
- 26:41though. Well, I don't know, just we
- 26:45always, you always. You always come at the little
- 26:47hands or dad's mouth. Yes.
- 26:48You always come at the corners of your mouth turned down.
- 26:50And I don't think mine do. I'm so glad they don't because
- 26:52it's really frustrating when they do.
- 26:53But you have my nose. Yes, exactly.
- 26:56You guys all have your dad's eyes or a mix of our eyes
- 26:58because he has Hazel and I have green.
- 26:59So it's really interesting. Yeah.
- 27:01Actually thinks I have more. Actually thinks I've got more
- 27:03greenish eyes. Yeah.
- 27:04Yeah. What colour?
- 27:05Ashley's eyes. I.
- 27:06Think they're like Hazel? Oh, OK, gotcha.
- 27:09Yeah, it's really interesting. My entire family has blue eyes.
- 27:11Why do I have green? I don't know.
- 27:13Isn't that crazy? Blue eyes, you say?
- 27:15My mom and dad have blue eyes and my parents, all my siblings
- 27:18have blue eyes. I'm the only one that has green.
- 27:22That's very interesting. That is very.
- 27:24Interesting, but I have a blue. See the blue ring around the
- 27:27outside? And then the insides, it is
- 27:28possible, it is possible to get green eyes, though.
- 27:30There's, there's a whole, there's this one time I saw this
- 27:33story, high school science teachers talking about genetics
- 27:37or whatever. And yeah, and he's up there and
- 27:40he's talking about he's like, if your parents have brown eyes,
- 27:44excuse me, if both of your parents have blue eyes, it is
- 27:46impossible for you to have brown eyes.
- 27:49Dead it up. So both your parents have.
- 27:51Blue not your children cannot have Yes, because the.
- 27:55Brown eyes are the dominant. Trait.
- 27:57So if you have a, if you have a brown because you 2, you have
- 28:01two. For your eye colors, Yep.
- 28:02And if so, if you have a blue. And a brown, it will always be
- 28:05brown. Now you could be, you could have
- 28:07a recessive blue trait and then you pass it on.
- 28:09And let's say your partner has blue eyes, they pass on blue.
- 28:11Now it's like little R little R boom, brown or blue.
- 28:14Then you have two Blues together, right?
- 28:16So you can get. A blue, so you get blue, but if
- 28:18they're both say little R, little R, little R, little R is
- 28:21blue, they're only going to give little Rs.
- 28:26Now possibly get Brown. Eyes.
- 28:27Right now, this kid sitting and he goes, well, that's not
- 28:29possible because I have brown eyes.
- 28:31Oh no. This is how.
- 28:33This kid finds out that he's adopted because the teacher's
- 28:35like, well, then you're adopted and he just.
- 28:37Says your mom cheated. Right.
- 28:39Well, he goes, well, then you're adopted.
- 28:40And so he goes home and he's like my teacher.
- 28:43And then the parents had to complain that they did he was
- 28:45adopted and they had not. They waited.
- 28:47How old was he? I think he was like high school
- 28:49and they hadn't told him. I just, I think that they had
- 28:51just like not planned on ever telling him that he was adopted.
- 28:55Oh my God. Yeah, so that's how he found out
- 28:57this. Poor kid, why would they not
- 28:59tell? Now this is not a true story
- 29:00from my like personal science class but I had heard and I'm
- 29:04like that sucks. That's wild.
- 29:08So my dad is adopted and you know.
- 29:10This. It is possible to get green eyes
- 29:12from blue eyes, just FYI. So no, you can rest easy.
- 29:16OK, OK. Considering I look exactly like
- 29:18my mother, yes. OK, well.
- 29:20I don't think it was your mother was going to be the issue.
- 29:23You know what? You're right.
- 29:28I was thinking about the mailman there for a while.
- 29:30I was worried. You're right.
- 29:32My mom wasn't the issue. I look exactly like my mother.
- 29:36Well, I look exactly like my mother.
- 29:39I was going to say, but I have my dad's personality.
- 29:42Yeah. So it's kind of funny.
- 29:44Yes, yeah, I have. Totally, totally.
- 29:47That's very funny, but yeah, no, it is possible to get grued eyes
- 29:50from blue eyes. So like I said, I know there.
- 29:52Is you can rest easy. You can totally shoot.
- 29:53Shoot. I've been stressing clearly.
- 29:59Oh, that's hilarious. But yeah, the genetics is we've
- 30:01kind of gotten off the rails, but the genetics is so
- 30:04interesting to me. And I think part of it is not
- 30:07knowing one whole half of your family, you know, where where
- 30:13did my dad get, you know, his blue eyes from?
- 30:16And, you know, just things like that yet.
- 30:17So it's always something that's kind of fascinating to to learn
- 30:22about. All right, next, let's go back
- 30:24on the track. What's the next song?
- 30:25So that was wish list after Wish list is wood.
- 30:29Oh, wood. It's about superstitions and
- 30:31nothing else. This is Taylor at the movie.
- 30:34And she says wood is about superstitions.
- 30:36Black Cats knocking on wood. That's it.
- 30:40The day, the the beginning, the opening line when she says
- 30:44something about the Daisy is naked.
- 30:46Daisy's bare naked Daisy. I was just straw.
- 30:48I was just straw. Does he love me?
- 30:49He loves me not. He loves me not.
- 30:51It's so cute because it took me a minute to find.
- 30:54I'm like, oh, she's doing the pluck.
- 30:55The Daisy love me. He loves me, he loves me.
- 30:57That's such a cute way to start the song.
- 31:00And but she she literally will not elaborate.
- 31:02She's like not elaborating at all.
- 31:04And if you listen to the song, it's definitely yes, the
- 31:07superstitions are in there, but it's also a bit of a euphemism.
- 31:11She, she's on, she's on. Jimmy Fallon, OK, And they're
- 31:15going through and she go. There he goes now.
- 31:20Would and she? Goes she goes, She was, I wanted
- 31:23to do this like kind of timeless sort of hit and it does.
- 31:26It feels almost like very Jackson 5A little bit the start
- 31:29of it does with the guitar and it's really fun, very fun.
- 31:33I love that song. I don't care what it's about.
- 31:36I would have loved this song. It's fun, yes.
- 31:39And she goes. It started in such an innocent
- 31:41place, is what she said. And I was cracking up.
- 31:45That's horrible, because you know what?
- 31:46You could take it at face value and listen to the clean version
- 31:48if you want good. It's all good, absolutely all
- 31:52good, but it's a hoot, so give it a listen.
- 31:54It is cancelled is an excellent all caps exclamation point.
- 31:58It is excellent. I think everybody says I just
- 32:01love it. I think it's a hoot.
- 32:02It feels very reputation. If you're a reputation girl, you
- 32:05I think you'll like this one it. Starts so great and she says
- 32:09there's something wicked this way.
- 32:10Comes and it's so awesome and it's the other line I'd love is
- 32:15when it's, you know, I'd like my friends cloaked in.
- 32:19Gucci and in scandal. Oh, it's such a great line, so
- 32:23good. So it's a whole thing about it's
- 32:25a good thing. I like my friends canceled and
- 32:27it goes from there. So this I think this I love.
- 32:31That's one of my favorite things that Taylor Swift will do in her
- 32:34her lyrics, lots of artists too. This is not just her, but she
- 32:37will use a word that has a dual, dual meaning.
- 32:41And the phrase itself will also be able to be interpreted both
- 32:44ways. So the cloaked in Gucci and in
- 32:47scandal cloaked, of course, meaning you could do clothing or
- 32:51in some kind of, you know, just kind of your aura surrounding
- 32:55exactly. And so I love, I love when she
- 32:58does stuff like that, like the in all too well, 10 minute
- 33:02versions. She says something like she says
- 33:07you what is it? You kept me like a secret, but I
- 33:13kept you like an oath. And I love the use of kept in
- 33:16that right, because oh so good, so good, so good.
- 33:20But yeah, she's so good. She's.
- 33:21She's one of the best at the excellent Her her her lines.
- 33:25Her lyrics, Yeah, All right, honey.
- 33:28Next up is honey 11 so. Sweet, I love it, which is very
- 33:34goes with honey. It's so adorable and I, I kind
- 33:37of loved how she talked about like when people use the term
- 33:40honey or sweetheart, you can, you can use it in this kind of
- 33:45derogatory way, like, oh, sweetheart, that.
- 33:48Yeah, sweetheart, that skirt that doesn't.
- 33:50Fit you. That doesn't look right.
- 33:51You know, you can be used in this derogatory way, but now she
- 33:56has someone who uses it in this very loving, sweet way.
- 34:00And she says, she says with something about when you when
- 34:03you say, you say. Lovely, he calls her lovely.
- 34:06Lovely. Like say like you're in awe of
- 34:07me and so adorable. Adorable.
- 34:13I love it. So I saw somebody say they're
- 34:15like, I tell you what, if I wasn't in, if I wasn't dating
- 34:19the person that I'm going to marry, I would hate this album
- 34:22too. Is this what they were saying?
- 34:24Cuz there's been some controversial, we got one more
- 34:27song so we'll maybe get back to this.
- 34:28But there's been some controversial takes on the
- 34:31album. And a lot of people, a lot of
- 34:34people love it though. And they're like, yeah, I could.
- 34:37I can see how if I was, if I was not in a happy relationship, why
- 34:45I wouldn't like this album. Right, if you weren't in in a
- 34:48happy place, then this might be a little too not sweet.
- 34:52Too. Yeah, maybe.
- 34:53Maybe not a good time for you to listen, but I think it's
- 34:56adorable. I do too.
- 34:58And then the last one is The Life of a Showgirl featuring
- 35:01Sabrina Carpenter. So adorable.
- 35:03She sounds amazing. She sounds great.
- 35:06Both of them do. But yes, Sabrina sounds amazing.
- 35:10There is. I don't remember the part that
- 35:13they both hit this. Oh, it's like, but that's not
- 35:17what Sheryl. That's not what showgirls get.
- 35:19They leave us for dead when they both do the they leave us for
- 35:22that. They harm that.
- 35:22Oh my God, they sound so good. So it's basically.
- 35:26You know, about a young girl who goes to see her, her kind of an
- 35:32idol type of showgirl who, you know, she goes, takes her
- 35:35bouquet of flowers and, well, I love you.
- 35:37You're so great. This is what I want to do with
- 35:38my life, too. And.
- 35:39And the showgirl's like, you're not going to want to do this.
- 35:42Yeah, like this is she? It's hard.
- 35:44It's too hard. Yes.
- 35:45And and then it kind of goes through how she she is now the
- 35:50showgirl, Yeah. And and she kind of.
- 35:52Talks like, well, I'm going to do it anyway because this is
- 35:54this is my calling or whatever. Yeah, she says something like I,
- 35:58I, I she said I hung her pearls of wisdom around my neck.
- 36:03And I again, another dual meaning, like the pearls of
- 36:06wisdom, but of course, the pearls.
- 36:07And I'm like, oh, my God, So good.
- 36:09Incredible. Yeah.
- 36:11God damn it, Taylor, you've done it again.
- 36:13And I'm. I'm going to steal Grace Helbig,
- 36:16who Ash and I watch on occasion her joke.
- 36:19Then she goes, OK, this next song, it's Elizabeth Taylor.
- 36:22She presses play. And of course, Elizabeth Taylor,
- 36:25she says it and then she pauses. She goes, she's done it again.
- 36:29Hilarious. Ash and I were dying.
- 36:32But there are some people who don't like this album.
- 36:35They think it's too short. They think the songs are like,
- 36:39there's not enough meaning. They're not poetic enough.
- 36:43Then it's not deep enough. It's not right.
- 36:46They're like, it's too, it's too pop, it's too mainstream,
- 36:49whatever. And it's going to always be
- 36:51people who bash not just her, but everybody.
- 36:55Whatever. I don't need an activity.
- 36:56Well, that's just it. I don't care.
- 36:58That's just it. And I mean, and so many people
- 37:00have like gone through and they're like, OK, you know, you,
- 37:04you know, listening to folklore to Evermore to Midnights and
- 37:09then torture poets department, you know, a lot of people
- 37:13complain the torture poets department, it's too long, it's
- 37:15too deep. You can't just like, listen,
- 37:17it's not fun. And da da, da.
- 37:19And so they're like, so they're like, you know, OK, you the
- 37:24complaints were it's too long, it's not fun and and whatnot.
- 37:29And so they're like, so she gave you a short album of just fun
- 37:32bop songs and you're still not happy and you.
- 37:35And you and so, So whatever, yes, whatever if you don't like
- 37:39it. Don't listen, Don't listen.
- 37:41That's it. That's it.
- 37:43Go listen to what you like to listen to.
- 37:45You don't have to like it. You don't have to like
- 37:47everything. I will tell you that her first
- 37:50album released in 2006. And so that means that next year
- 37:53we'll have we will have had 20 years of Taylor Swift.
- 37:56And let me tell you something, I am really hoping that she
- 37:58announces that debut. The re release is coming.
- 38:01You know what I mean? You know what I'm saying?
- 38:03Because what a time. What a time.
- 38:05I know that she doesn't technically need to do that
- 38:08because she now owns the Masters, but I think I deserve
- 38:12it. Abby deserves it.
- 38:13I deserve it. I wanted I wanted it so bad
- 38:17because more than reputation, I know that everybody wanted
- 38:20reputation. I I, it's not that I didn't care
- 38:23about reputation, but I wanted debut because her voice has come
- 38:28such a far like a long way from that first album and I wanted to
- 38:33hear her re record those with a more like mature voice.
- 38:37And also I wanted the vault tracks and and I wanted our song
- 38:42and so song. That's so you.
- 38:45I love you. I love that song.
- 38:46Listening to that and loving. That I heard that song.
- 38:49How old were you? Young.
- 38:51I had to have been 6th or 7th grade, probably 7th grade.
- 38:54You were still in grade school. I I think I, I, I know exactly
- 38:57where I was when I heard I was. I believe in.
- 39:01It's really funny. This is such a throwback.
- 39:03I'm in like 7th grade, I think approximately and because I
- 39:09think it was like fall 2006, all right.
- 39:12And I'm in the lot, the girls locker room and holy childhood,
- 39:16OK. And I we had, I think a
- 39:17volleyball game or basketball game because you know, depending
- 39:22on, you know, the time of year and we had, we had a game,
- 39:28right? So we have a game.
- 39:29And so somebody had like a little radio or whatever.
- 39:32And so they put on, you know, whatever country station and
- 39:35such. And we're all like changed.
- 39:37We're all in the locker room. We had like a lot of times we're
- 39:40killing time before the game. So we all have McDonald's
- 39:43because we're eating McDonald's for dinner.
- 39:45And 100% and we had it was Monopoly.
- 39:49So everybody's peeling their little Monopoly things off of
- 39:51their stuff. OK, So we're all getting our
- 39:54little monopolies. We're all comparing.
- 39:55And then our song comes on the radio.
- 39:56This is the first time I hear this song and it was the.
- 39:59First time you heard. It as the first time I heard
- 40:01Taylor Swift and I was like and. You're sitting in there.
- 40:04You're sitting in all the tough. Locker room.
- 40:05Oh, that's so funny. Eat my eat my snack wrap.
- 40:08Undoubtedly peeling my Monopoly off.
- 40:11And I'm like, oh, OK, OK, OK. I'm I'm like, I'm going to be 12
- 40:18years old, OK Oh my God. Because it's 2006.
- 40:23So I'm like, what a bite. What a banger.
- 40:25What a banger. She didn't miss.
- 40:26No, it's excellent. So every time I like hear that.
- 40:29Song I think of you. So so so good.
- 40:33Love that and so that's where I heard the first one but I mean
- 40:37here's the thing. So that's 2006 like I said,
- 40:39we've had about 20 years almost of Taylor Swift and I don't
- 40:45straight down the toilet for me, for her for her she's made the
- 40:49most of it. I'll tell you what she's built
- 40:51an empire in 20 years. They say Rome wasn't built
- 40:54today. Well, it wasn't built in 20
- 40:55years, yet here we are with Taylor Swift.
- 40:57So but I grew up in a time, there was a significant amount
- 41:06of time that it was not cool to like Taylor Swift.
- 41:10It was I think it was OK to like Taylor Swift during debut,
- 41:15during Fearless, but by the time I get to college and it's red
- 41:19and it's 1989. It was cool to hate on Taylor
- 41:23Swift and to hate her for for every everything that she ever
- 41:27did. I skipped over actually
- 41:30romantic. We did skip that one.
- 41:34I'm like this one. How dare us.
- 41:37I know I went. From a ruined friendship
- 41:39straight to wish list. Actually, romantic's on here and
- 41:41this. Actually, because it kind of
- 41:42goes a little. Well, that's why I went.
- 41:44I was like, you didn't talk about this because she she said
- 41:49so sorry listener, I'm going to cut back to actually romantic.
- 41:53Such a fun song as well love. It it is very fun.
- 41:56This Ash's favorite. I believe so.
- 41:58And, and it's, it's a little more rock, a little, just a
- 42:01little bit. I'm, I'm still waiting for the
- 42:03Taylor Swift rock album to drop. But she is singing about like
- 42:10how this person has beef with her.
- 42:12And it's almost like she like didn't even realize it.
- 42:14And she's like, it's, it's romantic how much time you've
- 42:17spent on this. Like, I appreciate, you know how
- 42:19it's work you've put in. It's really sweet.
- 42:20That you think about me so much. I don't hate you and I haven't
- 42:24given this any thought. But that's really sweet.
- 42:27It's so sweet, romantic. That you're thinking about, Yes.
- 42:30You put a lot of effort into this, yes.
- 42:31And so thank you. Yeah, yeah.
- 42:33Well, and so, so kind of ridiculous.
- 42:35Absolutely. But it's very fun.
- 42:38And she so, so. Yeah.
- 42:41So I remember a time in, in, you know, 2000, God, I mean, 2012 up
- 42:48to probably 2000. Let's see 16 or so, you know,
- 42:55ish, maybe even 18 that it's like it was way more cool to
- 43:00hate on Taylor Swift than it was to be just openly that you like
- 43:03this person and people really tore people.
- 43:07If you said your favorite artist was Taylor Swift, they really
- 43:09tore you down. I remember that being like a
- 43:12basic question he would ask when you're like college or in
- 43:15classroom, like who's your favorite artist?
- 43:17I never, I would never say Taylor Swift because one, people
- 43:20formed opinions about you of who you were because you like Taylor
- 43:23Swift and two. Which is just.
- 43:25So stupid. And and two, they just disliked
- 43:28you just right off the bat. And like it was, it was usually
- 43:33like I would, I remember Katie, Katie P who's no longer Katie P
- 43:38being in college with her. And I got the Red Album that
- 43:42came out when I was a freshman in college, and I had gotten it
- 43:45for Christmas. And I come back and I'm
- 43:48listening to it. And she goes, oh, I didn't know
- 43:50that you like Taylor Swift. And I was like.
- 43:54Your friend if I had no right. Sucker.
- 43:58Gotcha, bitch. Actually you got never mentioned
- 44:00under reps. Under reps but yeah, no.
- 44:03And and but it was just never something that I ever LED with
- 44:06with, you know, any of my friends or anything like that.
- 44:08That was like, oh, I like to really sad right now.
- 44:12Absolutely you can absolutely. Well, you know, it's 5050
- 44:14because it's very polarizing, you know?
- 44:16What it really is, and it's so sad.
- 44:17Start with that shit because who freaking?
- 44:19Cares. I know that's so stupid because
- 44:21I'm like, listen, I do not like Kanye West.
- 44:24I think he's a terrible human being and I don't like his
- 44:26music. But if you told me.
- 44:28I don't spend my time thinking about him or bashing him.
- 44:31I just don't listen. To his no, I'm just using it as
- 44:33an example right now. If you told me that your
- 44:35favorite artist, Kanye Swift, I'm like Kanye Swift, Jesus,
- 44:38Kanye, Kanye West, you told me that your your favorite artist
- 44:43is Kanye West. I'm be like, OK, we're not going
- 44:45to have a lot in common with music, but whatever.
- 44:47I'm living on with my life, I'm not going to judge you based on
- 44:49that. And I don't no, I don't care.
- 44:51No. Yeah, exactly.
- 44:53I know. And so would you ever.
- 44:55Judge someone like that, Yeah. On such a simple, silly thing,
- 44:58yes. So I've lived through some some
- 45:00dark times. Of me either.
- 45:06I put my bra on. One titty at a time.
- 45:07It's like everybody else. Really.
- 45:12Not really. I guess, but like, oh, like
- 45:19overall? That terrible overall.
- 45:23But no. But so I don't know if people
- 45:28nowadays, they. Still, my in laws like to do
- 45:31this. I think especially Ashley's
- 45:33extended family, they like to give me a little shit or
- 45:35whatever about Taylor Swift and, and well, just because, you
- 45:38know, I mean, it's just teasing. It's like it's good-natured.
- 45:42Now that then I, I, I would like, I, I'm choosing to believe
- 45:47that it is. And I, I, I don't think I'm fun
- 45:55to tease about this because I don't care, because I've heard
- 45:59it so much both in a teasing and in a non teasing way that I'm
- 46:04just like, that's fine. Like I think, I think people who
- 46:09want to like tease other people about like, oh, you like Taylor
- 46:12Swift or whatever, they're expecting you to like jump down
- 46:15their thrill. Like I can't believe you would
- 46:16say that. Like I'm like, listen, you can
- 46:20say whatever you want. She still broke just about every
- 46:23record regarding music. She's the only artist to win
- 46:27album of the year 4 times. She you know, she's the most
- 46:30awarded iHeartRadio and you know VMA and did that like she's all
- 46:35these all these different accolades and and songwriter of
- 46:37the year and etcetera etcetera. I'm like I you know, I don't
- 46:41care. She's got the highest grossing
- 46:42tour of all time period. You know she's.
- 46:45Not just a millionaire. She's a she with this new album,
- 46:49she just hit 2 billion. She was at like 1.6 billion
- 46:54after this album. She they heard they're
- 46:55estimating her over 2 billion now.
- 46:59Oh boy. Yeah, but the.
- 47:03You know, again, people, people, there are certain people in this
- 47:06world who will look for every opportunity to badge something.
- 47:09I'm not one of them. That's just not my thing, you
- 47:10know, So I'm never going to want that negativity life.
- 47:13And, you know, this, this person was was, you know, saying
- 47:16negative things. And I was just sitting there
- 47:18thinking, yeah, but you know, it's at number.
- 47:21I think Fading with Failure is at #1 And it's the only song
- 47:25that's been able to dethrone the golden K5D.
- 47:29Hunters song which I love which are fire love K pop demon
- 47:33hunters. Sing it.
- 47:34Watch it. This is, this is the era of, of
- 47:37it's amazing. Yeah.
- 47:38Pop music. People were talking about like
- 47:40recession pop, you know, with like Lady Gaga, which me and
- 47:42Ashley drove back from Wisconsin.
- 47:44Listen to her new album. I like the song Disease.
- 47:46I know you've heard it. I, I think it's pretty good.
- 47:49I you know what? There's some songs that I can,
- 47:53some are not hot, OK hot. Take I don't love Lady Gaga.
- 47:58I think she's very talented. Don't get me wrong.
- 48:01I think she's amazingly talented.
- 48:03I get, I, I get it. Don't get me wrong, I get it.
- 48:06I will listen to a Lady Gaga song as it comes on a lot of
- 48:12times, you know, Poker Face or whatever comes on.
- 48:15I'm, if it's just me listening, probably skip it, you know, and
- 48:19that's, that's just me. I don't know, because guess
- 48:20what, I'm not going to start a YouTube channel.
- 48:22The badge, Lady Gaga. No, and that's not me saying
- 48:25that those songs are bad. I can still.
- 48:26It's just not. You can still watch Crimson.
- 48:29She's unbelievably talented. I love her because amazing.
- 48:34Yes, just she's a good person. You know, there was just
- 48:37amazing. Singer There was a recent clip
- 48:39that was released and it was it was One Direction.
- 48:41If you remember that, of course you know 1.
- 48:43Direction. Of course.
- 48:44I know One Direction boy grew. From from Great Britain, I
- 48:47guess. And they were at the VMA's and
- 48:50for some reasons there were people in the crowd who were
- 48:52booing them. And Lady Gaga was there and she
- 48:56got up and went backstage and was like, there's a video clip
- 49:02of her. You can hear her telling them
- 49:04you guys are amazing. Don't listen to that.
- 49:07Don't. This is that's not Yeah, you
- 49:10know, that doesn't define you. You guys are amazing.
- 49:12I loved you. I thought your performance was
- 49:14incredible. And she's giving them this, you
- 49:17know? Pep talk.
- 49:18Yeah. And she was like, I don't want
- 49:21to be anywhere if people are willing to behave that way.
- 49:24That's not how you treat somebody who's up there.
- 49:27You know, it's a very, it's a very nerve wracking themselves
- 49:30out there for you. Yeah.
- 49:31I don't want to be somewhere where people feel that it is OK
- 49:35to treat someone. And be that negative.
- 49:38And she left. Yeah, she left the award
- 49:40ceremony and I was like, I don't know, good for.
- 49:42Her, Yeah, good for her. She's always been very, very,
- 49:45you know, big advocate for the LGBT community.
- 49:47Like I said, I've got no issues with her and I think that she's
- 49:50amazing. I really enjoyed watching her
- 49:52perform before the Olympics and watching that one guy eat shit.
- 49:55That was very funny. I thought she was amazing.
- 49:57I was glad that he was OK. She's just.
- 49:58Like an artist, sometimes you're going to like like some results,
- 50:01sometimes you're not. It's.
- 50:02OK, to play the song Disease for you, because I really like that
- 50:04one. That was very good.
- 50:05Loves, loves, loves so. I got no, I got no beef with
- 50:10Lady Gaga. I think she's wonderful and I
- 50:12love, I love artists that support artists.
- 50:14Absolutely, and I don't really care yeah Jesus Christ, she's so
- 50:18yes was reading this about how surpassed 2 billion in.
- 50:22Revenues, yes, Taylor Swift did, yeah, in her.
- 50:24Career that isn't crazy but you know to me it's like if you're
- 50:28willing to put yourself out there and perform and da da da
- 50:30like good for you not everything's gonna be for
- 50:32everybody that's OK right you still don't have to be hate well
- 50:35especially. Don't be hateful.
- 50:36Yeah, well, especially it's like these these artists that write
- 50:39their own songs. You know, Taylor's of course is
- 50:40a huge 1 of this. Like a lot of a lot of artists
- 50:43write songs on their albums. And some of them are very
- 50:48vulnerable, you know what I mean?
- 50:50And like some of them you've got, you've got songs on Lover
- 50:53about Taylor Swift wrote about her, her mother being diagnosed
- 50:57with breast cancer and that being a very scary thing for her
- 51:01and whatnot. And I'm like, I can't imagine
- 51:04going to somebody like, you know, this extremely vulnerable
- 51:07song that you've written about this scary time in your life and
- 51:10whatnot and be like that shit. Yeah, I mean, I would never say
- 51:13that to somebody, you know, say that.
- 51:16And like I said, I don't, I would, you know, again, say
- 51:19scream on music. I go and say that this is not
- 51:21for me, right? I'm not going to actively say
- 51:23that it's crap because someone else might.
- 51:25Really, really like it. I'm like, I've never been a big
- 51:28person. I've never been big into rap.
- 51:31I I like alternative music and I like, you know, no, we're going
- 51:36to see all time low, but I I don't yeah, The the more the the
- 51:42bands that are more screamo and whatnot.
- 51:44I'm not in like I think it's like misfits and things like
- 51:46that. I'm just not there's never
- 51:48enjoyed those, but that's. You know, we love you can enjoy
- 51:50it. You know, we love the band
- 51:51external heroes and but they have a song that they did
- 51:55partner do like a collab with and it's a screamo group from
- 51:59Korea. And so the guy comes in and he
- 52:01does his little screamo part OK, so it's not my favorite song of
- 52:04theirs, but I love, I love them and I love the odds a lot of
- 52:07most most of their music that that one song is not going to be
- 52:10for me, right? It's OK.
- 52:11I'm not going to be like, well, that's it.
- 52:13I hate them forever. And yeah, this is this is crap,
- 52:15like, right. I wouldn't even call that song
- 52:17crap. Like someone else might really
- 52:19love it, right? So I'm like, you know what?
- 52:22Freaking just why be so negative, right?
- 52:24Yeah, it's so necessary. That's.
- 52:26So unnecessary. Let's.
- 52:27Just be nice so you know what? We enjoy Taylor Swift on this
- 52:32channel. If you don't like Taylor Swift,
- 52:33I'll be honest with you. I know I hate to tell you this.
- 52:36If you don't like Taylor Swift and you think that you're going
- 52:38to bother me, you're not. If you know, if you're going to
- 52:42go out and just makes stupid claims like, well, she, she's a
- 52:44terrible singer. She's a terrible songwriter.
- 52:46Listen, you can dislike Taylor Swift and her music and her
- 52:52songwriting. The girl is an amazing
- 52:55singer-songwriter. Whether I mean, you know, it's.
- 52:58Funny, because I read this thing that she learned early on that
- 53:00if she wanted to maintain control of her narrative, she
- 53:02was going to have to write it her seven.
- 53:04So that's what she chose to do. So she just.
- 53:06From the age of like 14, it's not.
- 53:08Everybody's thing and. And that's OK.
- 53:10That's what she chose to do. Yes, we like that about her.
- 53:13We love that. Very talented.
- 53:14Mm Hmm. So, you know, whatever.
- 53:17I, I know and this and again, if you don't like Taylor Swift,
- 53:20sorry, this podcast was not for you.
- 53:23We apologize. Talk about it every time.
- 53:25Now, I will tell you, Anna, I've got a thing that I have been
- 53:28saving and I want to talk to you about, and I keep closing my
- 53:32stupid phone and not showing it to you.
- 53:35So this has nothing to do with Taylor Swift.
- 53:37So, you know, Swifty's, you know, if you're here.
- 53:40Thanks. If you were only here for non to
- 53:44swift information, go ahead and skip to like 55 minutes in and.
- 53:48We'll get to it. So back in January, so back in
- 53:54January, the state of Illinois opened voting for a new state
- 53:59flag. Really, they had a bunch of
- 54:02submissions and you could vote. You could also vote for the
- 54:05current state flag to keep it. And I will tell you that because
- 54:09the voting is closed and we already know who won, I will.
- 54:16It was not a big thing. But I will tell you that the
- 54:19current flag will be staying the same.
- 54:23People chose to keep it. Chose to keep it.
- 54:24A lot of people were really pissy.
- 54:26It's like these all look like a graphic design project.
- 54:29I after opening Illustrator for the third time and I'm like OK.
- 54:34Again, why is so hateful? I know, what a waste of taxpayer
- 54:37money. OK, chill out.
- 54:40So this is the trying to make a this is the flag.
- 54:45The current flag looks like that understood.
- 54:47And I don't like love it. What are the words that it says
- 54:50on that rock Illinois? No, I think it's I I 1.
- 54:54I believe it's the the date when it was founded but it's like
- 55:001868 and 1818 but I don't know what those dates.
- 55:03Reference. I'd have to look it up.
- 55:05So there were some new ones and I the, I believe the link is,
- 55:08has since been taken. Well, I don't know.
- 55:10Let me click on the yeah, the link has since been taken down.
- 55:13So you can no longer go. But they had put explanations
- 55:16for for why decisions were, were made.
- 55:19So, so like, for example, I like, I thought this was kind of
- 55:23fun. This is the shape of Illinois.
- 55:25And then there's Lincoln's face. It's the blue, right?
- 55:29That's kind of cool. Facing it, yes, I see that I
- 55:32think. This one's kind of fun, just a
- 55:33little sun and and whatnot. Look at the big eye there, yeah.
- 55:37I kind of like this one because it was a mix of like I believe
- 55:40in red. These are like little corn
- 55:42kernels because of course we and then there's like a gear because
- 55:45it's like, of course there's the big city where and whatnot.
- 55:48So industrial, there's some some other there's like a thing.
- 55:53Yep, but those were the options. Now I person, so my personal
- 55:57vote, I would have gone with this one.
- 55:59I like it because it's simple and I like this one up here and
- 56:03those are the options. But but we chose to keep, we
- 56:06chose to keep it the same. And this one is like almost the
- 56:10same, but they added some stripes on the side, you know,
- 56:13and and they all had reasonings like there was like a reason for
- 56:16all these stars. There's a reason for the
- 56:18stripes, etcetera, etcetera. And and that's all well and
- 56:21good. I have no problem with that, but
- 56:24I just thought I would show that it was interesting that that
- 56:26Illinois had had the current flag.
- 56:30Politicians always wanted to spend the money.
- 56:32I'm like, can you relax? Oh, I know where the butterfly's
- 56:36on there. I was like, why is there a
- 56:37butterfly on the flag? The state insect is the monarch.
- 56:40Yes, there you go. So.
- 56:42That's yes. Wait, wait a minute.
- 56:44I don't get that. I get it.
- 56:45Yeah, all these people are commenting.
- 56:47Leave it the current flag. Leave the current flag.
- 56:49And then people commenting underneath you can vote for the
- 56:51current. Flag.
- 56:52If you want them to leave it, vote.
- 56:54Yes, leave the fight alone. I vote, we change the governor.
- 56:58Well, you can. I, you can vote.
- 57:01I was like, I was like, I don't know how to tell you this.
- 57:03I've got good news for you. You can.
- 57:07Vote for that. Holy Illinois.
- 57:09I know that we're not dead last in education, but you're making
- 57:11us look real dumb. Come on, make it look real dumb
- 57:15right now, everybody. Knows that is an option.
- 57:18Yeah, well, it's fair that you bring up states.
- 57:21This will segue what I've been talking, wanted to talk to you
- 57:23about. OK Did you know that each state
- 57:29has a state motto? Yes, I did.
- 57:34She was excited about that. Yeah.
- 57:36Thank you, though. Very fortunately.
- 57:37Yes. And the only reason I know it
- 57:38came in really hot. The only reason why I know this
- 57:40is because we kind of were talking about this last, last
- 57:44time about was it even like that.
- 57:46We're talking about the truck laws, the seat belt laws, if you
- 57:49could ride in the bed of a truck.
- 57:50The only state that doesn't have a seat belt law is New
- 57:53Hampshire. Yes.
- 57:55Do you see Hampshire or New Hampshire?
- 57:57I always see New Hampshire OK which I'm still looking for a
- 57:59license plate she. Has she's trying to find all 50.
- 58:02She hasn't found that one yet. Come on, New Hampshire, do
- 58:03better. Take a road trip.
- 58:05Take a road trip. So I was like, wow, no seat belt
- 58:09law and do you know their state motto live free or die?
- 58:17It's like. OK, that checks.
- 58:20OK, they're living free. And die.
- 58:23I was like, hardcore New Hampshire hardcore.
- 58:25They really like Die Hard Live free.
- 58:27Die. Hard and then Oh yeah, it's live
- 58:29Free. Or did I say Live Free or Die
- 58:31Hard? What is it?
- 58:31No, no, it's live free. You said it correctly.
- 58:33But isn't there a movie that's like Live Free or Die Hard?
- 58:35Well. I know there's Die Hard.
- 58:37Well, OK, hold on now. I thought that was one of the
- 58:39sequels. I really don't know live now.
- 58:43I got myself all confused. 2007 film live free or die hard it's
- 58:49one I mean it's in the die hard series in.
- 58:52The Die Hard series, yes, yes, that's why I'm like, OK, now you
- 58:55got me all worked up. I don't.
- 58:57Know no no, but yeah live free or die is is the you're totally
- 59:01correct on the New Hampshire you and and it really should be live
- 59:03free and die because you will be unfortunately, I hate to tell
- 59:07you this people in New Hampshire everyone does die so should
- 59:10live. Free and then die, right?
- 59:11I don't know, but I thought that was an absolute hoot.
- 59:14Live free or die and nosy, but law.
- 59:17So OK, they're living hardcore up there in New Hampshire.
- 59:20They are. So I thought, well, what are
- 59:22some of the other like to me? Like a should a motto be a
- 59:27phrase? Should it be a verb?
- 59:29Should there be a verb involved? Your motto?
- 59:34Shouldn't it be an action? Should it be an action?
- 59:36I don't know because I feel like that one is like that's very
- 59:40action oriented. I felt like it, it I I always
- 59:43feel like a motto should should have a message.
- 59:48As far as that sounds fucking stupid.
- 59:51I I can hear myself speaking No, like I think it should have
- 59:56something that's like, I think advice, right, Almost like what
- 1:00:00is the motto? It's like this is this is what
- 1:00:03the people of this state. They live this, they.
- 1:00:07What is the word? This is how you live your.
- 1:00:09Life they embrace, yes. Right.
- 1:00:12And some of these I'm like, I was going to read you some.
- 1:00:15I'm ready. I'm ready.
- 1:00:16Hit me. This will be our last thing.
- 1:00:18Hit me. Hit me.
- 1:00:18Hit me. Because we have Alabama.
- 1:00:20Oh boy. Some of these are in like
- 1:00:22whatever, I'm just going to read you the English like translation
- 1:00:25God and riches. OK, that's fine, whatever.
- 1:00:28I don't really have beef with that, but Alaska N to the
- 1:00:33future. So I guess they were going north
- 1:00:38to the for their future. I get it.
- 1:00:40I get it. OK, all right, all right.
- 1:00:42I. Understand it?
- 1:00:44What's Illinois? Seriously.
- 1:00:47Oh, Illinois. Hang on.
- 1:00:48Well, I'm going alphabetically. Oh, sorry.
- 1:00:50My favorite, one of my favorites is California.
- 1:00:52Oh Eureka, I have found it. It's Spain.
- 1:01:00Eureka. Eureka.
- 1:01:02I have found it. I'm like some of these are so.
- 1:01:06That was that's some guy was paying for gold.
- 1:01:09Eureka, I have found it. And they're like, write that
- 1:01:13down, Jim, write that down. That's really good, Colorado.
- 1:01:19Nothing without Providence. OK, seems kind.
- 1:01:23Of Providence is the capital. Of Rhode Island.
- 1:01:25Oh, you're right. OK.
- 1:01:27Delaware. Liberty and independence,
- 1:01:31Florida, a God we trust. OK, I'm really these guys are
- 1:01:35have let me down. Yeah, I mean, New Hampshire is
- 1:01:37the best, so. Far live free or die.
- 1:01:39Yeah. You know what I know?
- 1:01:42Let it be perpetual. What?
- 1:01:45What do you want to be perpetual?
- 1:01:46What does that even state? We both were like what does that
- 1:01:49even mean? I.
- 1:01:50Don't know Illinois is so lame. State sovereignty.
- 1:01:55National Union. Boo.
- 1:01:58Live free or die, man. Come on, it was right.
- 1:02:01I was, you know, I was making fun of.
- 1:02:03I was. An excellent example there.
- 1:02:05I was making fun of New Hampshire for Live Free or Die
- 1:02:09and I, I take it all back. New Hampshire, first of all,
- 1:02:12again, take a road trip. So that's why they don't go on
- 1:02:14road trips because they have to put on their seat belt.
- 1:02:17It's true. That's what.
- 1:02:18That's it, those fuckers. We figured it out.
- 1:02:22Yeah. No.
- 1:02:24New Hampshire. Take a road trip so I can mark
- 1:02:26off that license plate. But also so far, best motto, and
- 1:02:29it's not even close. Yeah.
- 1:02:30Yeah, It's excellent. Indiana there.
- 1:02:35My state motto is the Crossroads of America.
- 1:02:40That's just like a place. That's more like a place.
- 1:02:44Yeah. Is that really a motto?
- 1:02:46I don't get it. What's the motto?
- 1:02:48That was the motto with you. Kansas, the state of Kansas, to
- 1:02:52the Stars through difficulties, OK, But to the Stars, OK, we
- 1:02:58don't. That's in.
- 1:02:58That's in. Florida or Texas is where we're
- 1:03:01sending people to the stars. Like if you ain't shooting off
- 1:03:04no astronauts from Kansas. No.
- 1:03:07So. That's interesting, I like this.
- 1:03:09I looked at the definition of a motto.
- 1:03:11OK, what does it say? A short sentence or phrase
- 1:03:14chosen as encapsulating the beliefs or ideals guiding an
- 1:03:19individual, family, or institution.
- 1:03:23OK, I don't think that most of these are doing that.
- 1:03:28Wait till. You see here Maryland's?
- 1:03:30Oh, go ahead. Manly deeds, womanly words.
- 1:03:35What the actual hell, Maryland manly deeds womanly?
- 1:03:40Words. OK, you can't spell Maryland
- 1:03:42without Mary. Exactly.
- 1:03:44And do you know the capital of Maryland, Annapolis?
- 1:03:47And so that's my sister and me. So we're excited.
- 1:03:49We always love Maryland. I've.
- 1:03:50Never been there, I just really quickly whipped my head around
- 1:03:52to the office. Camera Massachusetts gets it by
- 1:03:55the sword. We seek peace, but peace only
- 1:04:01under liberty. I like there's a quote by Teddy
- 1:04:04Roosevelt that is speak softly but carry a big stick.
- 1:04:07I fucking, I fucking live like that.
- 1:04:09I live by that. Speak softly but carry a big
- 1:04:12fucking stick. I feel like that's what Marilyn
- 1:04:16was going for. Manly deeds but womanly words.
- 1:04:19I'm like just say speak softly and carry a big ass fucking
- 1:04:21stick. I think.
- 1:04:23Or were you trying to separate saying when we can't do any
- 1:04:25deeds, she can only just speak, right?
- 1:04:27I'm not sure about. That but the woman ease the
- 1:04:29neck, turn ahead any way she was.
- 1:04:33Minnesota's is kind of cool. OK.
- 1:04:35But I really don't. I don't know.
- 1:04:36Maybe it isn't the star of the N Minnesota's the star of how?
- 1:04:41Is that a short sentence or phrase encapsulating the beliefs
- 1:04:43or ideals guiding an individual, family, or institution?
- 1:04:46I. Don't know.
- 1:04:47Wait, listen to Missouri. Oh, let the welfare of the
- 1:04:50people be the supreme law. I don't think they missed the
- 1:04:54mark. They would love me on welfare.
- 1:04:57Montana's my favorite gold and silver.
- 1:05:03For a tweet, Montana, take a road trip.
- 1:05:05I also am missing you fucker. Nebraska equality before law.
- 1:05:10I like that one. See, I like that one that works
- 1:05:13for law. Now we're talking.
- 1:05:17Now we're talking. Now we're talking.
- 1:05:20I mean, good grief. New Mexico.
- 1:05:23OK is this is an interesting one.
- 1:05:24OK. It grows as it goes.
- 1:05:28It grows as it goes. I don't know.
- 1:05:31I like to kind of like that, I don't know if this what it
- 1:05:33means, but I feel like that means like we're all kind of
- 1:05:36always moving forward, but you can always grow as you know what
- 1:05:40I mean, as you're as you're moving forward, you are still
- 1:05:43growing. I like, I don't know if that's
- 1:05:46what that means, but that's what I'm choosing if you interpret it
- 1:05:48that way, New Mexico. And that's very.
- 1:05:50Good for you new. York's is excellent.
- 1:05:52OK. Excelsior ever upward.
- 1:05:55OK, that's awesome. Ever upward on the that's a good
- 1:05:59that's. A good one.
- 1:06:00That's a goodie. Give me Vermont or I know that's
- 1:06:04probably a ways down. Unless you see a good one.
- 1:06:06I don't have it. Oh, how?
- 1:06:09Can I find? It I'll just look it up.
- 1:06:11Vermont here. It's right here.
- 1:06:13Oh, OK. Vermont.
- 1:06:15Vermont. Where are you?
- 1:06:17Vermont? Is this Vermont right here?
- 1:06:20Freedom and unity. That's it.
- 1:06:24Freedom and unity. Well, I Vermont is also take a
- 1:06:28road trip. That's why I'm bringing them up
- 1:06:31and Wyoming is the last one I will tell you, OK?
- 1:06:34What's Wyoming? Equal rights.
- 1:06:36Equal rights. That's it.
- 1:06:38It's interesting. Mm hmm.
- 1:06:40Quite the red state. Real interesting.
- 1:06:44I think they need to learn their learn their motto.
- 1:06:49What do you think? But now I'm not.
- 1:06:52Saying, but now get this one. Is this Utah right here?
- 1:06:56Utah. Utah.
- 1:06:58Utah. That's the one right here.
- 1:07:00Yep. Industry.
- 1:07:01Industry. No.
- 1:07:02Did you see Texas? What does that mean?
- 1:07:04Oh, Texas is one of my absolute favorites.
- 1:07:07Did you? Did you?
- 1:07:08Did you see what Texas is? That's why I'm asking you.
- 1:07:10It's hilarious. Go for it.
- 1:07:13I can't get it to pull up. There it is.
- 1:07:15Friendship. Friendship.
- 1:07:17Really. Texas, really I'm going to call
- 1:07:19you out on. That you know what?
- 1:07:21Let me tell you some organs. I like it.
- 1:07:23She flies with her own wings. That's a good one.
- 1:07:27That's. A good one I like.
- 1:07:28It. Organ Eureka.
- 1:07:29I'm sorry. I still.
- 1:07:31I'm still loving it. California.
- 1:07:33Very funny. I am.
- 1:07:34Some of these are better than others.
- 1:07:36Yes. You know this one.
- 1:07:39What is this one? Mississippi.
- 1:07:42No, that's not Mississippi. Arkansas.
- 1:07:45The people rule. Yes, I don't think.
- 1:07:49So I don't think so either. I do like Virginia's.
- 1:07:52OK, what's Virginia's? Thus always to tyrants that's.
- 1:07:59Excellent. Mm hmm, that's all that's
- 1:08:02awesome. So summer like oh now hold on
- 1:08:04because but West Virginia, this New Years are always free.
- 1:08:09I what I will say that Maryland's yours, it said.
- 1:08:14Manly deeds, but female words or whatever.
- 1:08:18Only words. Well, this one, so I guess it's
- 1:08:20originally in Italian and so this is a different translation
- 1:08:25that just says strong. Deeds, gentle words, which I
- 1:08:28like better. That's you're carrying a big
- 1:08:30stick. Yeah.
- 1:08:30Yeah, Yes. New Jersey's is liberty and
- 1:08:32prosperity, and that makes more sense.
- 1:08:35That makes more sense. Now I got Maine as I lead, OK.
- 1:08:41Uh huh. I got to say.
- 1:08:42Clip for your die is really funny.
- 1:08:44New Hampshire wins for me. Think that's that's really good.
- 1:08:49I think it's excellent. This one?
- 1:08:52Have you seen Michigan's? Because this one's cracking me
- 1:08:53up. I'll just read it to you.
- 1:08:55If you seek a pleasant peninsula, look about you.
- 1:08:59Look around. Or this one says forward,
- 1:09:02Wisconsin. Oh, that's Wisconsin.
- 1:09:03You're right, you're right. Why forward is Wisconsin?
- 1:09:06One word, simple to the point. And then you have a whole
- 1:09:09paragraph for Michigan's Yes, that's awesome.
- 1:09:14Oh wait, what's Hawaii's in here?
- 1:09:16The life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness.
- 1:09:20That's bold. Words, bold words for you know,
- 1:09:23do you know one of my favourites, because I think it's
- 1:09:26really perfect for our country is Kentucky's United we stand,
- 1:09:31divided we fall Good one. That's their motto.
- 1:09:34Kentucky Super RedState, who is dividing everybody?
- 1:09:37Thank you. Sorry, that was my last time.
- 1:09:39I would. Be on that, I think.
- 1:09:41I think you know Washington's is by and by which perhaps man.
- 1:09:44That's it. By and by what in the world do
- 1:09:46you mean by? That it's apparently originally
- 1:09:48in Chinook Jargon, that's the language, but I think Oregon
- 1:09:53takes it for me. Oregon is excellent.
- 1:09:55Tennessee super lame. Agriculture and commerce, yes,
- 1:09:59we are only going to worry about agriculture, commerce the recipe
- 1:10:03or bugger off Yes, Oregon's she flies with her own wings.
- 1:10:09I'm in. That is excellent.
- 1:10:11She flies with her own wings. You're God damn right I do.
- 1:10:13Yep, on a daily basis I'm I'm taking off.
- 1:10:16Not because I want to, but because I have to.
- 1:10:20God damn it. Don't know what else is going to
- 1:10:21fly for me. You are not a kid.
- 1:10:23I just thought that was hilarious.
- 1:10:25And so I thought, I've got to know more about these state
- 1:10:27mottos because New Hampshire really live free or die.
- 1:10:32Well, you guys are definitely following your state motto.
- 1:10:37Yeah, right. But also, apparently they all
- 1:10:40have slogans, but the slogans are different than the mottos.
- 1:10:44Like Hawaii is the Aloha State, you know the floor is a Sunshine
- 1:10:47State. Yes, there are totally
- 1:10:49different. There's like a state.
- 1:10:51Is it the slogan or more of a nickname?
- 1:10:55This, this is the state that they're called the slogans.
- 1:10:57Yeah, Missouri's the show me state.
- 1:10:59Illinois is the Prairie state. Prairie state, but.
- 1:11:01Then also Illinois is often called the Land of Lincoln.
- 1:11:04Yeah. There's all kinds of different
- 1:11:06things. We're very.
