- 0:00Speaker 1: Hello.
- 0:01Speaker 2: I am Dan from Story of the Year. Our new
- 0:03Speaker 2: album Arson is awesome and it is out now. I
- 0:07Speaker 2: hope you're listening and loving it. Let's talk about it.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Un lockway you did that, it might as also it
- 0:13Speaker 3: sort of rolls up the time.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Done that.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, all the words.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Story of the Year released you might dist album Austin
- 0:25Speaker 3: earlier this month. It's made a couple of weeks off
- 0:28Speaker 3: the early reception.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Baby, it's been very positive.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I have.
- 0:32Speaker 1: I've seen very little negative.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Reviews, which is, you know, I don't really care either way,
- 0:39Speaker 2: but you know, as long as we love it, it's
- 0:40Speaker 2: all good. But but yeah, it seems to be going
- 0:42Speaker 2: over really well. People are excited, people are liking it,
- 0:44Speaker 2: so that's all you can ask for.
- 0:46Speaker 3: No, I said. The presser says that A mocks the
- 0:48Speaker 3: next evolution of Story the East signature. Sam, would you
- 0:52Speaker 3: agree with that, Steimen.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I guess so.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like it's definitely sounds like Story of the Year.
- 0:58Speaker 2: But you know, every record we do evolve and change
- 1:01Speaker 2: in different ways a little bit, but we always have
- 1:03Speaker 2: like a classic sound that that's always there.
- 1:05Speaker 1: So yeah, I think that's a pretty good assessment.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Right, Well, we'll put that to the chest down mate,
- 1:10Speaker 3: because we're going to do something a little bit different.
- 1:12Speaker 3: So I've got an album review here that I've done,
- 1:14Speaker 3: so I'm going to read it out to your piece
- 1:16Speaker 3: by piece, and you tell me whether I'm full of
- 1:18Speaker 3: shit or if I'm on the right track, or if
- 1:20Speaker 3: you written or whatever you feel.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Like love it?
- 1:23Speaker 3: Okay, all right, So full disclosure from the outset. I've
- 1:27Speaker 3: never really been able to get into bands and alternate
- 1:30Speaker 3: between aggressive intent and emotional vulnerability is the easiest. Changing
- 1:33Speaker 3: the channel on the television set. Call me old school
- 1:35Speaker 3: or call me emotionally lacking. But I was brought up
- 1:37Speaker 3: under the PreCheck that if something pissed you off enough
- 1:39Speaker 3: to snap, but that was pretty much it. Let's go
- 1:41Speaker 3: to SmackDown Chown. Sure, situations change and perceptions light in
- 1:45Speaker 3: most instances, but once that switch has been splited, the
- 1:47Speaker 3: chances of a clean and chirping intlude a fuck aller none,
- 1:50Speaker 3: which is probably the main reason that such a grace
- 1:52Speaker 3: of fluctuations in music have never sat well with me.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Plus the age old macho scenario wherever I've never actually
- 1:58Speaker 3: sat by myself away from judgment and expectation to actually
- 2:01Speaker 3: give it a chance. That said, I'm either about the
- 2:03Speaker 3: completely reaffirming sisty beliefs after listening to the Story of the
- 2:06Speaker 3: Year's New Old Marten, or I'm an again a newfound
- 2:09Speaker 3: respected appreciation for the genre, not the band, such as
- 2:12Speaker 3: Story of the Year. I actually give a fuck about
- 2:13Speaker 3: past prejudices. But my mother always taught me to get
- 2:15Speaker 3: things a chance before passing firm judgment, so out of
- 2:18Speaker 3: respect to her, here we are opening. Gasoline is also
- 2:22Speaker 3: said to be one of Story of the Year's heaviest songs,
- 2:24Speaker 3: so things already looking up as a softer piece of
- 2:27Speaker 3: sonic ambience is soon ruptured as drummer vocalist stand mfellers.
- 2:30Speaker 3: It's aimed directly of people like my good self and
- 2:33Speaker 3: comes out swinging. It's already an interesting mix between samples
- 2:36Speaker 3: and emotional sensationalism, but I'm not hating it thus far.
- 2:40Speaker 3: I've noticed a firm correlation between Gasoline and anger and
- 2:42Speaker 3: this track, so every time I hear that trigger word,
- 2:44Speaker 3: I know we were into some beautiful harshness, and the
- 2:46Speaker 3: interaction violation of pastoral plans doesn't sound que out of place.
- 2:50Speaker 2: On the first track, Hey, okay, yeah, I think that's
- 2:56Speaker 2: that's you nailed it, that's that's great, and that is
- 3:00Speaker 2: that is weird.
- 3:00Speaker 1: I don't always love when when singers.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I hate, I don't hate, but I don't like when
- 3:06Speaker 2: bands have two singers, you know, like one guy who
- 3:09Speaker 2: just like all screaming and then one guy who just
- 3:11Speaker 2: like comes out of nowhere.
- 3:12Speaker 1: And it's like, that's never been my favorite thing.
- 3:16Speaker 2: But I do like when you know, a singer can
- 3:19Speaker 2: fluidly go back and forth, and uh, that's always been.
- 3:23Speaker 1: My my way of doing it.
- 3:24Speaker 2: But but yeah, Gasoline, it's definitely a fun, screamy, hard,
- 3:29Speaker 2: hard song, a lot of a lot of high high
- 3:32Speaker 2: notes and screaming all at the same time. So it
- 3:34Speaker 2: gives me a headache just thinking about having to sing
- 3:36Speaker 2: it more. But uh yeah, it's uh, it's it's a
- 3:40Speaker 2: fun song. It's like just you know, it's just fuck it,
- 3:43Speaker 2: burn it down, you know, fuck it up. You know,
- 3:45Speaker 2: it's pretty self explanatory. It's just a fun song. And yeah,
- 3:48Speaker 2: I love that one.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Nice disconnected his next and starts with the Temp again
- 3:53Speaker 3: met with the Dice about healthy can champ for Marcella,
- 3:56Speaker 3: but he soon gets over whatever is ADDIE's gravance and
- 3:58Speaker 3: the Queen's tike. I it's same to you, said piece
- 4:00Speaker 3: of it. So it's been a bit of a backstory
- 4:02Speaker 3: where maybe once the world was a beautiful place this
- 4:05Speaker 3: says flashes baar too sonic wise, and I like those guys,
- 4:07Speaker 3: so maybe there will be a connection. That's probably way
- 4:10Speaker 3: too harsh, because this is a quite catchy track with
- 4:13Speaker 3: a thunderous drum rolls courtesy of Mussella aiing a toughness
- 4:15Speaker 3: to the bottom end that intrudes just often enough to
- 4:18Speaker 3: entice some tasty breakdowns. There's even an electronic breakdown, which
- 4:21Speaker 3: is not too shabby at all. I might be wrong,
- 4:24Speaker 3: but it sounds like Marcella is doing much of the
- 4:25Speaker 3: alternating vocal styles himself, which adds instant respect. I'm not
- 4:29Speaker 3: sure how to best explain it, but when the contrast
- 4:31Speaker 3: comes from the bracted state of one saying self, then
- 4:33Speaker 3: the divide between light and shade suddenly becomes less divisive
- 4:36Speaker 3: and more personal. But if I'm wrong, then now I
- 4:38Speaker 3: now look like a dick. But nothing, it's not on
- 4:40Speaker 3: this even about misgivings.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Uh yeah, this is this is great. Uh you're you're
- 4:47Speaker 1: an era right on it. I mean that's that's that's
- 4:50Speaker 1: that's the song. That's what it is.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Uh yeah, I mean it's just a lyrically, it's just
- 4:57Speaker 2: just about feeling disconnected from you know, people are longing
- 5:00Speaker 2: for some kind of connection, whether it's the past or
- 5:04Speaker 2: just a personal thing.
- 5:05Speaker 1: I don't know, you know, it could be taken.
- 5:06Speaker 2: A few different ways, but but yeah, it's uh, it's
- 5:09Speaker 2: It's one of the first songs we wrote for the record,
- 5:11Speaker 2: the first ones that we finished. So it was like
- 5:13Speaker 2: we knew that that chorus was big and I sang
- 5:15Speaker 2: it high and hard again it screaming half the time,
- 5:18Speaker 2: and uh it was a it was a good one.
- 5:21Speaker 2: When we got that one done, we were like, Okay,
- 5:22Speaker 2: this is this is the story of the year. This
- 5:24Speaker 2: is what we sound like. It's kind of the best
- 5:25Speaker 2: of everything that we do. You know, it's like upbeat,
- 5:28Speaker 2: it's kind of heavy, but it's catchy, it's got it's
- 5:30Speaker 2: got a little bit of everything, and uh it's it's
- 5:32Speaker 2: one of one of our favorites on the record.
- 5:34Speaker 3: Very cool. Uh see three fires off a met a
- 5:38Speaker 3: wall that quickly passed to usher in a shoffling drum
- 5:40Speaker 3: pill that allows from Ussel to throw a barrage of
- 5:42Speaker 3: twins into the mix. It's subtling nicely with the relative
- 5:45Speaker 3: calmness opened up by the rhythm section. Story of the
- 5:48Speaker 3: Year of obviously had plenty of practice with blending stalls
- 5:50Speaker 3: and genres to not sound it's interested, and even as
- 5:54Speaker 3: a sudden shift into a peaceful resolution threats to dominate proceedings,
- 5:58Speaker 3: there isn't much else to do but allow us to
- 6:00Speaker 3: be guided by the unsetiny and simply enjoyed the ride.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Yeah, see Through is a is a little bit of
- 6:06Speaker 1: a weird one.
- 6:09Speaker 2: It was written with a co writer named James Fauntleroy
- 6:12Speaker 2: and he has very different style and uh he's written
- 6:16Speaker 2: for like Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars and shit, so
- 6:19Speaker 2: he comes from that more pop world.
- 6:20Speaker 1: But uh so a couple of the melodies that he had,
- 6:23Speaker 1: we were like we.
- 6:25Speaker 2: I had to like really find a different zone to
- 6:28Speaker 2: like because it's we you know, It's just it's different
- 6:30Speaker 2: for me. So but it ended up being really cool
- 6:33Speaker 2: and we turned it into made it sound like Story
- 6:35Speaker 2: of the Year. But but yeah, it was just a
- 6:38Speaker 2: lot different process on that song, and it's it's a
- 6:40Speaker 2: very different track for us.
- 6:42Speaker 1: But but it still ended up being really cool. We
- 6:44Speaker 1: love it.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Our four wife starts with a massive distortion feedback before
- 6:49Speaker 3: ripping this gape straight off to reveal the embrasiveness beneath.
- 6:52Speaker 3: There's a small dose of rapid few spoken verse to
- 6:55Speaker 3: keep things interesting. People at the contrasting vocals resumed their storytelling,
- 6:58Speaker 3: and I saw many dawns on me. That is exactly
- 7:01Speaker 3: what is going on here. It happens the flight between
- 7:03Speaker 3: Haskin's main biicals, isn't they just to make this feel
- 7:05Speaker 3: little warm and fuzzy. They are actually two aposing sides,
- 7:08Speaker 3: the slight coin that forwards you have a way the
- 7:10Speaker 3: narrative reply it.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Yeah that that that is it, and the guest vocal
- 7:16Speaker 2: from Jacoby from Papa Roach, which.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Is awesome on that song.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Yeah, so yeah, I be yet the pretty singing part
- 7:25Speaker 2: is that we were kind of writing it like like
- 7:27Speaker 2: a conversation between multiple people, you know, And and then yeah,
- 7:31Speaker 2: I didn't even really think about that until you just
- 7:33Speaker 2: kind of said that that that I forgot that that's
- 7:34Speaker 2: kind of where we were inspired when we were writing it.
- 7:37Speaker 2: But yeah, it's cool to have like that weird rappiness
- 7:40Speaker 2: that Jacoby does and uh, Yeah, that was the first
- 7:43Speaker 2: time we've had a guest vocalist in a really long time,
- 7:46Speaker 2: so uh, it's it's a special song.
- 7:48Speaker 3: It's cool street three I Am, he's usually been. Things
- 7:51Speaker 3: start to get interesting, and this track is no exception
- 7:54Speaker 3: for the shuffle of guitars giving way to a punk
- 7:56Speaker 3: star opening salvo, the s into mohat tree before the
- 8:00Speaker 3: fading light commands a little more respect, and the voices
- 8:03Speaker 3: in their heads start to jumble even more and show
- 8:05Speaker 3: none of it matters, not the vocal styles, not the
- 8:08Speaker 3: chirpiness of the chorus, and certainly not the schizophrenic side
- 8:11Speaker 3: of the band's personality that wants to keep partying. All
- 8:14Speaker 3: the matters because none of us know what the fuck
- 8:15Speaker 3: we want or need at three am in the morning.
- 8:17Speaker 3: So instead, shortly their advices, she joined in on their
- 8:20Speaker 3: quest for a good time, and for the first time
- 8:21Speaker 3: on the album, I'll find myself getting into the band
- 8:23Speaker 3: and saying, fuck it, if it feels good, then roll
- 8:26Speaker 3: with it.
- 8:28Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I think three Am is probably my favorite song
- 8:32Speaker 2: on the record, just lyrically, especially because it's about it's
- 8:36Speaker 2: about leaving your family and going on tour and you know,
- 8:39Speaker 2: being gone for months of the time and having you know,
- 8:42Speaker 2: kids at home and a wife and stuff and just
- 8:44Speaker 2: that that that crazy, uh part of our lives that
- 8:49Speaker 2: is not easy, you know. So but yeah, and the
- 8:51Speaker 2: song it's it's a very crazy song. It's big, crazy
- 8:55Speaker 2: riff and then it's like super pop punk and then
- 8:57Speaker 2: it's all of a sudden, I'm screaming and it's like
- 8:59Speaker 2: it's very chare. It's like such a wild song, and
- 9:02Speaker 2: I think it's really cool. It's something that is kind
- 9:04Speaker 2: of different for us. But I love that song.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Indeed, Into the Dark as an almost dreamy intro before
- 9:11Speaker 3: the Kaitarski kin and showed the dream into a rightmare
- 9:13Speaker 3: of sonic proportions, and the game resumes. It's all in
- 9:16Speaker 3: my head, marcelovermones, no ship mate, Now, how do you
- 9:19Speaker 3: get that catchiness to get the fuck out of there?
- 9:22Speaker 3: The Toughest Fuck Breakdown presents the answer and the laughing
- 9:24Speaker 3: effect of that unexpected by it out first, almost kind
- 9:27Speaker 3: of camouflages of following doubt, a clean supporter on which
- 9:30Speaker 3: you washy but somehow don't actually feel that wrong. Marcella
- 9:33Speaker 3: has an inanate ability to draw you and every time
- 9:35Speaker 3: His voice takes on even a hind of releevlance, carrying
- 9:38Speaker 3: you through the moments of serenity, speaking the knowledge he
- 9:40Speaker 3: can get messy at any time and quickly.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Yeah, Into the Dark is one of It's also up
- 9:47Speaker 2: there on my favorites list.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Another. I mean that it started with that riff Ryan.
- 9:53Speaker 2: Ryan had that verse riff and it was just like
- 9:55Speaker 2: so mean, and it was like literally sounded kind of dark.
- 9:58Speaker 1: So we were like, all right, this something something dark,
- 10:01Speaker 1: Like what do we say?
- 10:02Speaker 2: You know. It's like so the title into the Darkest
- 10:04Speaker 2: kind of wrote itself just because of the style of
- 10:06Speaker 2: the music. And but yeah, we had a different chorus
- 10:10Speaker 2: at first, and U producer Colin Britton, he was like,
- 10:13Speaker 2: we need like a big anthem chorus here, like a
- 10:15Speaker 2: big like you know, so we like went to the
- 10:17Speaker 2: major note on it and just like into the Dark,
- 10:20Speaker 2: you know. It's just like it's such a it's such
- 10:22Speaker 2: a big uplift on that course. And I love I
- 10:24Speaker 2: love everything about the song. It's cool, it's cool, vibe nice.
- 10:29Speaker 3: I should actually take forty to verbalize the fact that
- 10:31Speaker 3: I'm actually quite enjoying us. And that's fine. Call it
- 10:34Speaker 3: a guilty pleasure if you will, but I'm just gonna
- 10:36Speaker 3: call it for what it is. Damn find music with
- 10:38Speaker 3: an emotional depth that likely would not be possible with
- 10:40Speaker 3: outsetting moments of wooing what better to follow into the
- 10:44Speaker 3: dark and my religion and already this track is refair
- 10:46Speaker 3: my apathy or as a Church, which is a meat
- 10:48Speaker 3: and potatoes heart toorker much like religion, and I have
- 10:51Speaker 3: so little in common with both that I should skip
- 10:53Speaker 3: forward just so I don't black thing.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Uh yeah, that that one started with just what like
- 11:01Speaker 2: a drum beat.
- 11:02Speaker 1: I was like, I want to do like a Jimmy
- 11:04Speaker 1: World kind of tempo.
- 11:05Speaker 2: You know.
- 11:06Speaker 1: It's like like.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Guy, you know, it's just like we never had that
- 11:10Speaker 2: like kind of upbeat in between beat and uh so
- 11:13Speaker 2: we literally started with a drum beat and just started
- 11:15Speaker 2: writing and fiddling around and coming up with ideas, and
- 11:17Speaker 2: that one just it was very organic in the studio,
- 11:20Speaker 2: like fun song. And uh somebody just said something about
- 11:24Speaker 2: something being my religion, you know, like like not not
- 11:28Speaker 2: being into religion. It's just like, yeah, like, oh that's
- 11:30Speaker 2: that's that's my religion, you know. So and we just
- 11:33Speaker 2: kind of we kind of worked it backwards off of
- 11:35Speaker 2: just like a conversation we were all having and yeah,
- 11:38Speaker 2: just a special moment, you know.
- 11:40Speaker 3: And beautiful.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Uh.
- 11:41Speaker 3: The trend continues is highlights, boathsroom to speak off but
- 11:44Speaker 3: the metal gods have sanely he had much more of
- 11:46Speaker 3: a say here as a repid drum field illavice proceedings
- 11:49Speaker 3: and Marcella stops as as someone's kickeding volantly into sheetings
- 11:52Speaker 3: as in he isn't very happy again. This is trying
- 11:55Speaker 3: to be the tight I stuff, but the difference theaters
- 11:57Speaker 3: that the meaties waggy beef and the tight I is
- 11:59Speaker 3: tougher than any ores could ever be. This is a
- 12:02Speaker 3: rollicking track with an off underlying animosity. She suggests that
- 12:04Speaker 3: Hailer was relatively slipped and so I'd considerably a ramps
- 12:08Speaker 3: for the year his neck things being made and Charlie
- 12:10Speaker 3: to soft the territory. But the first throe of guitars
- 12:12Speaker 3: follow I can recall on the album. So you stamped
- 12:14Speaker 3: that out as a rocking story is once more pushed
- 12:17Speaker 3: it to four and things are so much better for it.
- 12:20Speaker 2: Yeah that that that song was one of the last
- 12:22Speaker 2: ones we wrote on the record, and uh, we kind
- 12:25Speaker 2: of like once you get kind of close to being done,
- 12:28Speaker 2: you kind of look at the collection of songs and
- 12:29Speaker 2: it's like, all right, we need like a we need
- 12:31Speaker 2: an upbeat, like just kind of ripper song, you know,
- 12:33Speaker 2: and uh kind of like in the Hero like in
- 12:35Speaker 2: the Hearalll Drown or something like one of our older songs. So,
- 12:38Speaker 2: uh so we just kind of wrote a song that
- 12:40Speaker 2: we felt like we needed on the record and uh yeah,
- 12:43Speaker 2: it was just kind of last minute throwing it together
- 12:45Speaker 2: in the studio and it ended up being a really
- 12:47Speaker 2: cool and it's a fun, energetic song. You know.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Kid. I'm not sure if good for Me Feel So
- 12:53Speaker 3: Bad is a pitch tak or a statement, but the
- 12:55Speaker 3: thrilling haze and guitar that introduces your song suggested it
- 12:58Speaker 3: isn't so much of a piece. Bring as a chichon
- 13:00Speaker 3: of breatastreet shopping, drum shaped things and check and this
- 13:03Speaker 3: one that's stidy and rolde In Moment Salarbrary, there's a
- 13:06Speaker 3: dipth and sumption to the delivery the scream sorrow and loss,
- 13:09Speaker 3: but this is upset by a conflicting subplot of cold
- 13:12Speaker 3: chempt that it can't offers to a prising viewpoints sonically,
- 13:15Speaker 3: I think I'm actually starting to understand Shediah.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Yeah, that one. That one has a very different feel
- 13:22Speaker 1: to me, Like vocally, it's a lot different for some reason.
- 13:26Speaker 2: I don't know why. It's It's not like crazy or anything,
- 13:28Speaker 2: but yeah, it's like it's got a lot of cool references.
- 13:32Speaker 2: It's kind of dark and are very metaphorical, you know,
- 13:36Speaker 2: with the lyrics stuff, a lot of like different weird.
- 13:39Speaker 2: It could mean a lot of things to a lot
- 13:40Speaker 2: of people. But but yeah, I think it's it's a
- 13:43Speaker 2: cool song. The chorus is very different for us. It's
- 13:45Speaker 2: kind of lower. It's like I didn't have to sing
- 13:48Speaker 2: as high as I humanly could on this song, which
- 13:50Speaker 2: is kind of cool. It was like, yeah, let's just
- 13:51Speaker 2: keep it in that mid mid range and just just
- 13:53Speaker 2: go with it and let.
- 13:54Speaker 1: This music speak for itself. So it's a cool song.
- 13:57Speaker 3: I love it nice better than high. It starts with
- 14:00Speaker 3: the washing acoustic guitars getting off a calming effect that
- 14:03Speaker 3: is accentuated by the almost stoothing rocals that's somewhere between
- 14:06Speaker 3: the longing and deceit maybe not, but such thoughts around
- 14:09Speaker 3: me to look forward into this song with hope that
- 14:11Speaker 3: things might change out for a bit, and the tides
- 14:13Speaker 3: of the militias and chant may once more shower off
- 14:15Speaker 3: than hap the theme. No such luck, as the song
- 14:18Speaker 3: maintains the same trajectory pretty much, You're out, But who
- 14:20Speaker 3: am I kidding? As soon as the acoustic guitars kicked in,
- 14:22Speaker 3: this song was never going to go anywhere else, which,
- 14:25Speaker 3: as it turns out, isn't such a bad place to be.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Yeah, that one just happened to once again in the studio.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Colin, our producer, was just playing the guitar and we
- 14:34Speaker 2: were all just sitting around and he just started playing
- 14:36Speaker 2: that those chords and I just started singing along and
- 14:40Speaker 2: just kind of happened naturally in the studio. And yeah,
- 14:44Speaker 2: I think once once the line better than Hi was
- 14:46Speaker 2: like I was like, oh, that's cool, you know, like
- 14:48Speaker 2: the whole idea is just kind of a relationship song,
- 14:52Speaker 2: growing up together, growing all together and growing apart and
- 14:54Speaker 2: back together and whatever.
- 14:56Speaker 1: But uh, yeah, I don't even remember what the lyric is.
- 15:00Speaker 1: It's hard to remember the lyrics whenever I'm like, I'm
- 15:02Speaker 1: just sitting here, but yeah, but yeah, it's a cool song.
- 15:05Speaker 1: You always got to have a little acoustic.
- 15:06Speaker 2: Track just change, change the tempo on the record, you know,
- 15:10Speaker 2: get it, get away from some of the other crazy stuff.
- 15:12Speaker 1: So yeah, it's cool.
- 15:13Speaker 3: Nice our album clothes that I don't want to feel
- 15:16Speaker 3: like this anymore. Gives off enough shades of despair from
- 15:18Speaker 3: the opening salvo that I'm studying to think story of
- 15:20Speaker 3: the year and myself might past, might part on lesson
- 15:24Speaker 3: favorable terms. The things do top and up more than enough,
- 15:27Speaker 3: and what could have been a choken love song is
- 15:28Speaker 3: elevated enough to paint a bleaker picture of hope and
- 15:31Speaker 3: loss that office enough in the way of that beauty
- 15:33Speaker 3: to leave people on myself feeling that maybe things don't
- 15:35Speaker 3: churn out as nicely as they appear.
- 15:38Speaker 2: And that's it.
- 15:38Speaker 3: We're done. How do I feel dirty, violated, conflicted, all
- 15:43Speaker 3: of the above? Actually, but I also have a newfound
- 15:45Speaker 3: respected appreciation for the genre. And definitely the story of
- 15:48Speaker 3: the mum is right. Sometimes you do have to look
- 15:50Speaker 3: outside the musical box we subconsciously build for ourselves.
- 15:55Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that song is pretty self explanatory. You know,
- 15:59Speaker 2: it's just about loss or you know, just uh, not
- 16:02Speaker 2: wanting to feel something. It could it could go in
- 16:06Speaker 2: many directions for different people. But I know it's already
- 16:09Speaker 2: very special song for a lot of people. But it's
- 16:11Speaker 2: just a classic kind of emo kind of song, you know,
- 16:14Speaker 2: it's just a classic story of the year song.
- 16:17Speaker 1: But yeah, I love I love hearing your take on
- 16:21Speaker 1: a lot of this stuff. That's that's fun and and
- 16:23Speaker 1: like here instead of just reading it, it's like having
- 16:25Speaker 1: you read it.
- 16:28Speaker 3: I'll want paper to get stick a bit. But especially
- 16:31Speaker 3: I think it's well, it's off with this. I'm gonna
- 16:33Speaker 3: edit all to my chalking out. I'm just gonna like
- 16:35Speaker 3: have a big of graphics. So then it's gonna just
- 16:36Speaker 3: have huge chalking about the song. I'm gonna step right
- 16:38Speaker 3: and song by song and then I put it on
- 16:40Speaker 3: a YouTube channel and the people get to know the
- 16:42Speaker 3: album would be paper And for me, it helps you
- 16:44Speaker 3: out to be a primy for.
- 16:45Speaker 1: You, Yeah, that's awesome.
- 16:46Speaker 2: Yeah, it's cool to to hear you know, your first
- 16:49Speaker 2: take on how you took it in and uh, because yeah,
- 16:52Speaker 2: I haven't heard much.
- 16:53Speaker 3: I haven't.
- 16:53Speaker 2: I haven't talked about the record that much yet. It's
- 16:55Speaker 2: brand new, you know, so it's cool to It's very cool.
- 16:58Speaker 1: I love it.
- 17:00Speaker 3: Yea, it was maybe thanks to you, Timon, thanks for
- 17:01Speaker 3: being a wooly participant. But the album is a cracked roll.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Like I say, I was that.
- 17:04Speaker 3: I don't normally go into that sort of thing, but
- 17:07Speaker 3: from the first or second song and you said me gone,
- 17:10Speaker 3: these puckers are all right.
- 17:13Speaker 2: I love it.
- 17:13Speaker 1: Thank you, appreciate it.
