- 0:54Welcome to the 21st episode of Indie Talks.
- 0:58Oh my God.
- 0:58Very nice to have you all here today.
- 1:00I'm Els, the host, and today we have a special guest.
- 1:05Why I'm saying it's special because, uh, we have Emma right now and
- 1:09she is, um, currently competing in the US online qualifier for the
- 1:13upcoming global e sports games.
- 1:16Guess what?
- 1:17Global e sports games.
- 1:18Hi.
- 1:19Hi Emma, hi hi, very nice to have you here today in the Indie Talks.
- 1:25Thank you so much for joining us today.
- 1:28Yeah, thank you for having me.
- 1:29I'm happy to be here.
- 1:31I'm super happy.
- 1:32So, how are you doing today?
- 1:34Happy almost weekend, by the way.
- 1:36Yeah, yeah.
- 1:37It's a good day.
- 1:38Busy day.
- 1:39I'm actually like taking this on my lunch break, so it's still work to
- 1:42do after this, but it's a dreary day outside, so glad to be here doing this.
- 1:47Something exciting.
- 1:48Oh, wow.
- 1:49Okay, so she's having an interview during the lunch break.
- 1:54Okay.
- 1:56That's very efficient.
- 1:58Yeah, you know.
- 1:59That's very efficient.
- 2:01Okay, I will try to turn it up.
- 2:03And let me know if my sound is slightly better now.
- 2:07So I put my microphone a little bit closer to my mouth.
- 2:12A very good lunch break.
- 2:13Like, imagine guys, doing a podcast while having a lunch break.
- 2:17I don't know if I could ever do that.
- 2:21It's all good.
- 2:25Oh my God, by the way, DTR underscore cars, by the way.
- 2:28Hi, hi.
- 2:28Welcome to in the box.
- 2:30Very nice to have you here today and ash.
- 2:33Hi.
- 2:33Hi.
- 2:33Welcome in.
- 2:34Welcome in ash.
- 2:35Welcome.
- 2:36I have a new friend joining the unit box today, Emma, and
- 2:40she's playing a lot in ACC.
- 2:42So disclaimer, this unit box will be all about ACC and we will talk
- 2:48more about Emma, what she does in simracing, and maybe you can tell me a
- 2:53bit about what you do on daily basis.
- 2:56Like, are you like a full time simracer, or are you like having
- 3:01another things to do outside, outside the gaming world, I must say.
- 3:05Oh yeah, I'm definitely not a full time simracer.
- 3:08I would say it's very much a hobby for me, but something that I've been doing.
- 3:12Pursuing about every day.
- 3:14I definitely drive every day for like the past three years or so.
- 3:18Um, but I do work in the automotive industry.
- 3:21Now I originally worked in the film industry, though I made the
- 3:24switch actually a couple months ago.
- 3:26So now I work, um, as a brand partnerships coordinator, um,
- 3:30with an automotive company.
- 3:31So I get to work with cars every day, which is pretty exciting.
- 3:34But, um, I got into sim racing.
- 3:37I originally did Formula One 2021, which I would not recommend,
- 3:42uh, learning how to sim drive on that game, but that's what I did.
- 3:47And that's how I got the bug and, um, I've just been playing ever since.
- 3:53And I've been very lucky to make a lot of friends in e sports, a lot of
- 3:56friends in the motorsport world that has all just kind of helped, um, this
- 4:01become something that I like to pursue.
- 4:03Yeah.
- 4:04So every day.
- 4:05Your world is all about sea racing, motor sport from the day you wake up and until
- 4:10the day like you're going to bed, you're about to sleep every day, every time.
- 4:14It's all about cars.
- 4:16I must say.
- 4:17It's all about cars now, which is, which is pretty exciting.
- 4:20So I get the opportunity to drive a lot of cool cars and talk to people about cars.
- 4:25I'm certainly not a petrolhead myself.
- 4:28I I really try appreciate cars.
- 4:30I love them a lot.
- 4:32Um.
- 4:33But it's really cool to work at a place where everyone else is Incredibly
- 4:38knowledgeable and passionate.
- 4:39So yeah, I feel like sim racing and motorsport is like a great place to
- 4:45be Like it's a really great community.
- 4:47Everybody is like very helpful if you have question even even if it's a dumb
- 4:52question people will Oh, yeah try their best, you know to help you Probably
- 4:57two years to figure out How to actually communicate, like break bias stuff.
- 5:03Right.
- 5:04The percentages, it just, it didn't make sense to me.
- 5:06There's a lot of stuff that still doesn't make sense.
- 5:07I'm still learning every single day, but I have found the sim racing
- 5:11community to be extremely welcoming.
- 5:13I was a little bit nervous about that at first, um, because I, I
- 5:17used to play a lot of call of duty.
- 5:19And it wasn't quite a great place for women at the time.
- 5:23Um, but so I was a little bit nervous coming to sim racing, but I have.
- 5:28Just absolutely met some of the best people, um, I'm in like the, one of
- 5:31the best leagues I could possibly ever imagine having found, um,
- 5:36And it's just been a blast so far.
- 5:38Right, yeah, um, at first when I want to switch my career path, I must say,
- 5:46getting into the gaming industry, I was, I was like really really nervous.
- 5:50I was so afraid because everybody knows that This industry is all about boys.
- 5:56It's a man's world something like that, you know, and it kind of scares me at
- 6:00first but yeah throughout the time I feel like I found a lot of great people
- 6:05and Surprisingly, I found like a lot of girls here like who likes to play and
- 6:09I was like i'm feeling more safe That's how I feel, you know, not that more safe,
- 6:14but it's more like welcoming You And I like about sim racing is so much of it.
- 6:20Um, you have to build your own community in a way.
- 6:23I did a lot of like pot lapping and just as you know, driving by myself, but
- 6:27you're not going to be as good of a racer if you're not actually racing everyone.
- 6:32So I had to kind of branch out and find my own league.
- 6:35Um, and you know, there's plenty of leagues that I just knew
- 6:39were not going to be for me.
- 6:40And then I found the one that I'm in and I've raced with other people now,
- 6:44and it was just a great place to.
- 6:46To get started, um, one that was rookie friendly because I was
- 6:49terrible when I first started sim racing, it was really bad.
- 6:53Um, and you know, it's been cool to see the growth of not only my own driving,
- 6:58but everyone in my league as well.
- 7:00Yeah, same here.
- 7:01Trust me, when I first got into this, I have no idea about a racecraft.
- 7:06I don't understand the concept of understeer, oversteer.
- 7:09I'm like, what is that?
- 7:11Yeah, I mean, it was like learning a whole new language, like literally
- 7:16and figuratively you have to learn so much about yourself and how you drive
- 7:21and how, like, I'm a notoriously late breaker and you'll see in my telemetry
- 7:26all the time that I'm really fast on entry and terrible on exit, which
- 7:30is not how you're supposed to drive, that's how I instinctually drive.
- 7:34Um, so it's a lot of analyzing yourself and analyzing your own data.
- 7:39But then there's also other people on track, so you can't hit other people.
- 7:42Um, so yeah, it's been a great, an amazing learning experience and
- 7:46I'm so glad I started doing it.
- 7:48Yeah.
- 7:49Cause I feel like sim racing is one of the hobby that is like that.
- 7:54I don't know.
- 7:54I feel like sim racing has a deep learning curve, so it takes time for
- 7:58everyone to actually get good at it.
- 8:01So maybe that's also the reason why I'm staying in this hobby for it.
- 8:06quite a long time, like four or five years now, I think.
- 8:09Because every day, like, I'm learning something new.
- 8:12Every day, I feel like I'm a newbie.
- 8:14I'm learning something.
- 8:15Oh, this is new, you know?
- 8:17Yeah, like every track, you can always just try a new track you've never
- 8:20driven before, and there's something you're gonna learn about the track.
- 8:23You can always just change cars.
- 8:24It's, it's really cool.
- 8:26Yeah.
- 8:27And speaking about the sim racing part of your life, um, which, uh,
- 8:33which game or sim that you play most?
- 8:37Um, driving time definitely be the original Assetto Corsa.
- 8:42My league is all on Assetto Corsa, but recently I've also been doing ACC a lot.
- 8:49Um, so I did the Ferrari Esports Series.
- 8:54Um, and I, I didn't make it past the qualifier for the U.
- 8:58S.
- 8:58I made it past the hot lap portion, which was a, uh, A huge achievement for
- 9:02me because I'm not that fast, but um, and it was good in the race I finished
- 9:05p7 in both of my races, but only I think the top Two from each one went.
- 9:11I definitely didn't make it, you know, but it was good to, that was my
- 9:15first real taste of being competitive on ACC and Apparently ACC just
- 9:21suits my driving style a lot better.
- 9:23I do have iRacing too, but I am just not, I'm not a fan of the MX 5 and I
- 9:29know I have to like get through that stage to get Further in iRacing, so it's
- 9:34been, and I have my league races every week, so I focus on my league races
- 9:37when I have time, or if I'm doing a competition like this, I focus on that.
- 9:41So, iRacing's definitely there.
- 9:44I was lucky enough to, actually the Canadian eSports Federation, I think
- 9:49they're still doing it actually, US citizens and Canadians can get iRacing
- 9:53for a year for a 10 donation to the
- 9:58So I just donated 10 and got free iRacing, free, free iRacing for a year.
- 10:03Um, so it's been great to just be able to try it out.
- 10:07And I definitely want to get more into it, but it takes, it takes a while.
- 10:11Yeah, because I think for me, it was quite a challenge to switch
- 10:16from ACC to iRacing back and forth.
- 10:19I cannot do that.
- 10:20Yeah, I think that, I mean, The way that I approach it, I just
- 10:25am kind of just assuming I'm not going to be great at either.
- 10:28So I just enjoy a different game.
- 10:31There's definitely stuff to learn.
- 10:32Like I, I'm not good with tires and I racing at all.
- 10:35I will pretty much, I'm so used to just like stomping it out of the pits and AC
- 10:40that the first time and I just destroyed my tires before I even left the pit lane.
- 10:44Um, so yeah, I'm, and I definitely don't race enough to, to be able
- 10:48to speak on it, but it's right.
- 10:51Moving from AC to ACC is a huge switch, too.
- 10:54Um, because AC you're dealing with very old stuff, even with mods,
- 10:59which I have plenty of mods in.
- 11:01Um, but I don't know, something about ACC just kind of clicks with my driving.
- 11:04But, yeah, I drive AC more.
- 11:07More on AC.
- 11:08Right, right.
- 11:10And here even still very good, the result.
- 11:12Yeah, I mean, I don't know, um, I know some drivers are getting into a leak race
- 11:19or a big Event trying to win but I like to Take it as one step at a time, you
- 11:27know Oh, yeah, I when I started sim racing I knew I'm a lot I started three years
- 11:32ago from nothing So it was like I knew I was not going to be winning any races I
- 11:37didn't even know what a racing line was.
- 11:39I had a general idea I've been around racing kind of but I would watch
- 11:43Formula One as a kid And it was like, oh, that's really cool You But I didn't
- 11:48pay attention to any of that stuff.
- 11:49I could not tell you Monza T1.
- 11:52I didn't know anything about that.
- 11:53Nothing.
- 11:54Um, so starting sim racing has really been, it was a humbling
- 11:59experience for sure, because I don't like to be bad at things, but I had
- 12:03to be bad for a really long time.
- 12:05And honestly, my goal was always just finish the race for the first three
- 12:08or four seasons of my racing league.
- 12:10All my focus was finishing.
- 12:14Even just finishing the race, I was still picking people off because some
- 12:18people would just like quit or just not finish the race for whatever reason.
- 12:23Um, I've only not finished one race and that was because, um, I
- 12:28accidentally got my connector cable between my, um, direct drive wheel and
- 12:34my pedals caught between the pedals.
- 12:36So every time I put on the brakes I was trying to sever the brake.
- 12:42So that didn't work.
- 12:43I had a mechanical failure in real life.
- 12:46So yeah, I just always tell people, like, don't, don't worry about winning.
- 12:51Like, that's why my league is so cool.
- 12:52Just because the community is so great that we're just having a good
- 12:55time racing, you know, it's just fun and exciting and it's still, still
- 13:00very competitive, but it's not crazy.
- 13:03But honestly, I don't know.
- 13:05Yeah, it's nice to set the goal as finishing the race, especially
- 13:10if you just start getting into it.
- 13:12Because I feel like a lot of people are focusing a lot on the win,
- 13:17even if this is a new sim for them.
- 13:19It's a new game, it's just released and they just like focusing on that.
- 13:23But yeah, focusing on finishing the race is a great start to step up your game.
- 13:29That's how I see it, you know.
- 13:31Yeah, absolutely.
- 13:32And I, my other goal was don't crash anyone out.
- 13:34And then my very first league race ever, I, I thought I was on the
- 13:38racing line, but apparently I wasn't.
- 13:40We were at Laguna Seca.
- 13:41And I was getting lapped, and the two guys in the lead were fighting,
- 13:45and I accidentally got in their way, and I wrecked one of them out
- 13:48and took away his only win, so.
- 13:50Oh my gosh, yeah.
- 13:52But everybody made mistakes, okay?
- 13:54Everybody.
- 13:55Yeah, yeah, and I was just like, and that was like, I was like, I
- 13:57am so sorry, I can't believe I did that to you, and we still joke about
- 14:00it now, three years later, like.
- 14:02We still joke about it.
- 14:06Oh, here, Ash is asking in the chat, favorite car to drive on ACC?
- 14:11That's a good question.
- 14:13For me, it's definitely the Ferrari.
- 14:16I got so used to it from the Ferrari E sport series that, I
- 14:21don't know, I really like it.
- 14:22Um, the Mustang has been interesting to, I had to completely kind of
- 14:28relearn my driving style for that car.
- 14:30It's very interesting.
- 14:31Same.
- 14:32And I would say probably my least favorite is the McLaren, just
- 14:35because for whatever reason it just does not work for my driving style
- 14:38very well, so Ferrari for sure.
- 14:40Or the Porsche.
- 14:41I like the Porsche.
- 14:42Yeah, I like the Porsche.
- 14:43Yeah.
- 14:44But I haven't, I haven't actually like tried driving fast the Mustang, and yeah.
- 14:50It's interesting.
- 14:50Yeah.
- 14:51It's definitely interesting.
- 14:52I only drive the Mustang on iRacing, and Well in I racing, I feel like the
- 14:57Mustang is so dead in the rain, but I don't know how it drives in, in a CC.
- 15:02Maybe it's a good car.
- 15:04Maybe it's, to me, I just came out of A-A-T-C-R series and a set of corset
- 15:09and the driving style is similar enough to TCRs actually, for me anyway.
- 15:14Right.
- 15:14But I, that's how I've been able to kind of like get a hold of it a little bit.
- 15:18But it's very different.
- 15:19It, it's been a, a steep learning curve.
- 15:21'cause I've never driven the Mustang before this.
- 15:24Is it like a big challenge for you for now?
- 15:27Cause for the US online qualifier, I believe we'll be
- 15:31driving the Mustang in Kota.
- 15:32Yeah.
- 15:33Um, yeah, so it is, is Mustang and Kota.
- 15:36So, um, yeah, I just, you know, I was actually practicing Kota in the Ferrari
- 15:41and then when it was announced that it was a Mustang had to make the switch.
- 15:43So it's worked out.
- 15:45I mean, I'm definitely now I'm faster in the Mustang than I was
- 15:48in the Ferrari on this track, but I haven't done a lot of Kota.
- 15:52Uh, Hot lapping in ACC, but I thankfully already knew the track because we raced
- 15:57it a bunch in my league So it was nice not to have to, you know, kind of learn
- 16:01the track as well Yeah, it's it's come around and once you get the hang of
- 16:07it You can kind of adjust your driving style to suit it a little bit more
- 16:10Which is what I'm still trying to do and still trying to find Plenty of time.
- 16:15There's plenty of time to be found.
- 16:16Yeah, I mean looking at the pro driver You Like the pro eSports
- 16:22driver, they spend like 10 hours in the sim, like doing like a lot of
- 16:27drive, hundreds or thousands of laps.
- 16:29So, yeah, we'll get there eventually.
- 16:33Everybody, all of us will get there, guys.
- 16:35All of us will get our pro license one day.
- 16:39Mm hmm, for sure.
- 16:41It's all about, like, to me, it's like, you can always improve, and
- 16:44that's the cool thing about sim racing.
- 16:45Even the guy who is Or girl.
- 16:48Hey girl.
- 16:48In the first place, period.
- 16:50Could always find time.
- 16:52Um, there's always a way to find the new limit.
- 16:54And you know, ACC, every time there's a new patch, you gotta
- 16:58get your time set to see if you're still the fastest in that car.
- 17:00So, interesting.
- 17:02Yeah.
- 17:03The updates is kind of like stressing the drivers sometimes.
- 17:08Especially like, I know someone, um, who compete in the past.
- 17:12In the first screen to speed.
- 17:13Okay.
- 17:14So basically we were having the screen to speed in Las
- 17:16Vegas two years ago, I believe.
- 17:18And yeah, it was like basically the first event for the girls to
- 17:22have like an offline event, like you're racing on the side with the
- 17:27same racing setup and everything.
- 17:29And I know there's like one girl who is like really quick on ACC.
- 17:34She's more like an ACC driver.
- 17:36And yeah, she was like, she told me like, um, You know what?
- 17:42I'm so stressed out.
- 17:43Every time I'm having this, um, big event, like big, big event on ACC
- 17:48coming, and then there's a patch update, everybody will stress out.
- 17:51Like, they need to redo the setup and everything.
- 17:55Like, oh God, it's so stressful.
- 17:58Yeah, that's where it's like when you're pro level, you know, every single little
- 18:02setup change can make such a difference.
- 18:05And, um, When you're not as good, you can just, you know,
- 18:08there's so many fundamentals.
- 18:09If you just have the fundamentals down, you can get a pretty good lap time.
- 18:12And then the fine tuning stuff is where you can really get thrown off by that.
- 18:15Cause I did the Porsche e sports challenge as well.
- 18:18Um, and that was an in person, they had online qualifiers,
- 18:21but it was also in person.
- 18:22So you had to go to the Porsche experience center and they had, um, a PS4 set up
- 18:29with Gran Turismo, um, and a Fanatec set up, and you had to just, Um, and
- 18:33then you can just jump in the rig and try to set your best time on basically
- 18:37new equipment or unfamiliar equipment.
- 18:39So I encourage people if, if there's any like free events like that around you to
- 18:43try that because it's really good to like practice being in high, I guess a high
- 18:49stress, high excitement environment and still see if you can set the laugh time.
- 18:52Cause it definitely affected, I was two seconds faster at my house and then I
- 18:56went and I was a lot slower, but um, eventually, you know, got around to it.
- 19:02But.
- 19:03Right.
- 19:03But I think you, me, and everyone who race in the script to Speed Vegas are
- 19:11lucky because we get to experience that.
- 19:13Because it's not like every day you get like an offline event or
- 19:16we can go to an offline event.
- 19:19And what I learned in this offline event is that the game is not
- 19:23just about driving fast, but who can adapt to the setup quickly.
- 19:28Absolutely.
- 19:28Like, that's more like the game than just trying to drive fast for me.
- 19:33And I feel like I'm so noob on that.
- 19:35Like, I have more experience.
- 19:38It's the same with kind of, like, hot lapping versus racing as well.
- 19:42Like, I started and I was only doing hot laps.
- 19:45You know, I really thought I was getting good and whatever.
- 19:47And then I joined my first race and as soon as there's other cars
- 19:50or other actual people are driving them, I It's completely different.
- 19:53So that's why people always told me join a league as fast as you can And I was
- 19:57like, no, I have to be faster first And if I could put up anything like don't wait
- 20:02just join a league You will learn race craft and you'll also be getting faster
- 20:07and it'll really help you in the long run.
- 20:08That's it Yeah, I couldn't agree more on that like really at first I was like too
- 20:14afraid to race against people because I was like having this mindset I got to be
- 20:18fast first to be able to race You know, but trust me everyone here in the chat.
- 20:24It's not the right mindset sometimes you just have to throw yourself into
- 20:27the race because in the end the The experience that you get on the track
- 20:32when you're racing is the most important It's more important than just doing
- 20:35a hot lap in a solo practice you Yep.
- 20:39Absolutely.
- 20:40And like what it's a tire dag and stuff like that.
- 20:43Like we've had races where it was so much fun because everyone's
- 20:46tires were absolutely gone.
- 20:48So hiding around, you had to just see who was going to survive the race.
- 20:52And it just adds another element to it.
- 20:55Right.
- 20:56And by the way, I want to get back into our conversation earlier, because you are
- 21:00saying that you're starting from F1 2021.
- 21:04And then you're, you're saying that it's not really recommended
- 21:08for everyone, um, who wants to get into sim racing kind of thing.
- 21:12But I think in my, cause I'm starting from Gran Turismo event.
- 21:16So basically both of us, we can say that we are starting from the sim cave and
- 21:20then we are moving to the sim, let's say.
- 21:23Yeah.
- 21:24And I feel like the sim cave can be a great start for everyone.
- 21:31Yeah.
- 21:32Like, yeah, I, I agree with that.
- 21:34I think that, um, I honestly think that Gran Turismo could be better than,
- 21:40I mean, it depends, I mean, I, I got into it as I liked Formula One, but
- 21:43at the same time, I have not driven a Formula One car in a race sense.
- 21:49Um, I think it's just helpful to like, I don't know.
- 21:53It's whatever you want to do.
- 21:54Whatever's going to motivate you.
- 21:55Cause it's time in the seat.
- 21:56I mean, I remember I wanted to get good at every single Formula One track.
- 22:00And I wanted to be, they had like the online leaderboard and it was
- 22:03like you could be in, it would tell you what percentage you were in.
- 22:06I was like, I'm going to be top 50 percent for every single track.
- 22:09And then I want to be top 40.
- 22:10And then I want to be top 30.
- 22:12And I kept doing that.
- 22:14And I went about my training, I guess all wrong.
- 22:18Like I literally was like, I'm going to do turn one of Bahrain.
- 22:21100 times in a row and like see if I could do it and I literally had
- 22:24a whiteboard and I was like writing down My time every single time.
- 22:28Oh my god So like it doesn't help you like you need to do the whole track
- 22:31because part of it is flow and like all this stuff But you know, I was still way
- 22:35more like I was so motivated to do that So it was it ended up being a good thing.
- 22:39So I would say if there's whether it's a simcade or like it's a You know
- 22:44something like iRacing or something It's whatever motivates you to to get in the
- 22:48seat and drive can be useful for sure because the fundamentals don't change
- 22:52I mean you either know the racing line or you don't and it doesn't matter what
- 22:56game you're playing You're gonna be pretty fast either way It's true as long
- 23:00people as long you're having fun in it.
- 23:02That's the most important thing It doesn't matter like if people say
- 23:06like on the internet outside They're like saying this game is better
- 23:09that game is better in my opinion.
- 23:11Just do what you want just, and so many equipment too.
- 23:15People, so many people that I've talked to are like, oh, I need a good setup.
- 23:19I need to have X, Y, Z before I start.
- 23:22You def, I mean, it definitely helps.
- 23:24Like I started with a, a Logitech G 29 and that was my, my wheel and I
- 23:29had like a really basic, basic setup.
- 23:33Mm-hmm . And then I was lucky enough that, um.
- 23:36My, actually my co workers gifted me a Fanatec setup, so I didn't even
- 23:40have to pay for it, which was amazing.
- 23:43Can I be friends with your co workers?
- 23:46I did not expect that at all.
- 23:47Yeah, yeah.
- 23:49Oh my god, your co workers.
- 23:51Since then, it's been like, you know, as soon as you get a load cell pedal,
- 23:54that's what I always tell people.
- 23:55If you're going to upgrade anything, a load cell pedal is the, load cell
- 23:59brakes is the best thing to start with.
- 24:01But, people are like convinced that they're not fast because they
- 24:04don't have You know, the top of the line SimCube setup and stuff.
- 24:08And I'm like, it doesn't matter.
- 24:09There are people who are e sports professionals who are
- 24:13racing on a Logitech G29.
- 24:16I know one of them who won like a competition just with a Logitech G29.
- 24:20You can do it.
- 24:21You just, you got to learn it.
- 24:22It's like anything else.
- 24:23I mean, every Sim has things that aren't realistic to real life.
- 24:28Um, you kind of have to exploit those.
- 24:30And it's the same with the equipment.
- 24:31Like you can make it work.
- 24:34It's the motivation.
- 24:34That's all it is.
- 24:36I agree with you on that.
- 24:37Like, yeah, I mean, when I first won my championship on ACC, I was pretty
- 24:44much using like, not like a budget wheel, but pretty much an entry level.
- 24:49I was using the Thrustmaster T300 and I mount the wheel to like a
- 24:54hospital tray that I bought on Amazon.
- 24:56Like I'm just trying my best to make it work because I want to race in the end.
- 25:01And I won my championship then.
- 25:04It's more like, I'm proving it to myself like, yeah, you don't need an expensive
- 25:09or fancy equipment to win a race.
- 25:11It's just, I don't know, it sounds like an excuse to me.
- 25:15I'm sorry.
- 25:16Not like excuse, but yeah, you know.
- 25:19Sure.
- 25:21My mentality when I started was like, I just needed I mean, some people do
- 25:25it with controller too, but for me I wanted to actually learn like the Not
- 25:29everyone can afford even, you know, a Logitech G29, so don't get me wrong there.
- 25:32But, I would say like if you, if you can, like having a wheel and pedals
- 25:37is actually teaching you stuff.
- 25:38Because then when you go to real track experiences, It's kind of crazy because
- 25:43even though the feeling is not the same, because obviously the g forces are
- 25:46really there and stuff, it looks pretty much the same out the dashboard window.
- 25:50And so your brain just kind of like registers it similarly
- 25:53to when you're in the sim.
- 25:55Um, and then your hand eye coordination kind of goes with the steering.
- 25:58So I found it to be pretty helpful when I did, I did one track day.
- 26:02So, yeah, yeah.
- 26:04In real life, um, yeah, there's a lot of things that cannot break my focus
- 26:10in real life because I tried life.
- 26:12Not like a track day, but I tried like driving around the track
- 26:14sometimes, or one or two times.
- 26:17Sometimes I feel like, yeah, you can feel the g force, which
- 26:20for me, kind of helps me to feel the speed going into the corner.
- 26:24While in sim, I have to rely on my eyes to see if I'm fast or not.
- 26:29Which, yeah.
- 26:30But, sometimes I feel like the movement when I'm like driving fast, the
- 26:35movement is kind of breaks my focus.
- 26:36You know what I mean?
- 26:37Like, the g force, everything.
- 26:39I don't think about it, but when I'm driving in my sim, I lean at the turns.
- 26:45I really hate that I do it still.
- 26:47I don't know why, but you can tell when I'm getting frustrated because
- 26:49I really start to lean over when the turns don't work and instead of just
- 26:53like adjusting my braking and not getting understeer, I just assume that
- 26:57leaning is gonna just really help.
- 26:59Really helps you in the sim.
- 27:00Yeah.
- 27:03Winning is a, is a state of mind.
- 27:05Yeah.
- 27:05I feel like.
- 27:07There's a lot of aspect in racing.
- 27:09I feel like the more I'm doing race, doing a race, the more I
- 27:13realize it's not just about winning.
- 27:15There are one race that you just focus on learning how to drive around the track.
- 27:19There's a race that just goes wrong.
- 27:23Everything just wrong.
- 27:24So you just focus on survival, crossing the finish line.
- 27:27So like, there's like a lot of aspect in racing and maybe some people can win every
- 27:33time, but to me, you can't win every time.
- 27:36Yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 27:37Like, we've had, we had an endurance series, so we did the 2.
- 27:434 hours of Le Mans.
- 27:46Just being able to complete that race, like, it was a work night, whatever,
- 27:52just got home and I knew I was going to be driving for the next two plus hours.
- 27:56Um, I don't even remember what I placed in that race.
- 27:59I probably did pretty close to last, but it was still, like, an accomplishment.
- 28:03I was still, like, Gross and like finish the race.
- 28:07And I was like, that was pretty cool.
- 28:12I mean, like in my league, it's not even, it's not usually the same winner,
- 28:15but there's like the same five or six guys who win every time and it's really
- 28:19fun for them, but also back in the mid pack, like we have an am championship
- 28:24and stuff like that, so we're just, we just make it our own kind of competition.
- 28:28And I'm pretty competitive, but I know my, I know I'm not gonna
- 28:32win in my league right now.
- 28:33I need to get a little bit faster.
- 28:35But it's still, things can feel like a win that aren't actually a win.
- 28:39Yeah, things can feel like a win.
- 28:42'cause I've won a race and I've messed up my race.
- 28:48Okay.
- 28:48I've had a good race, I've had a bad race.
- 28:50When I, when I win a race, I'll be happy for one hour, two hour,
- 28:55like celebrating like, oh my God.
- 28:57Feeling ecstatic like that.
- 28:59But after that, okay, that's it, you know, but I feel like when I had a
- 29:04good race a good battle It feels more memorable To me than winning the race.
- 29:10I don't know.
- 29:11Yeah, I don't want to win Yeah, like I think about I'm thinking we had a race
- 29:18at Watkins in GT4s And I was just racing against, um, one of my friends in my
- 29:24league and I was pretty new and I had never been able to match his pace before,
- 29:29but we had like an amazing battle all through Watkins for like lap after lap.
- 29:33And it was so much fun.
- 29:34And it was like, I still think about that battle all the time.
- 29:38And it's just like, I don't know.
- 29:39I don't even remember what we placed.
- 29:41It doesn't matter, but I don't even remember who won the fight, honestly,
- 29:44because it was just so much fun.
- 29:46Afterward, we were both just like, we both really learned from it, which was.
- 29:50The win for us, we were both like, that was an awesome fight.
- 29:53Like it was great.
- 29:54And um, so yeah, we took our win there.
- 29:57It didn't really matter what happened on track.
- 29:59Yeah, exactly.
- 30:01Remember you go faster when you lean forward.
- 30:03A hundred percent.
- 30:04Trust me, bro.
- 30:05No.
- 30:06In simracing, you will go faster when you push your wheel.
- 30:10Okay, question.
- 30:12When you guys simracing, do you push your wheel or do you guys pull your wheel?
- 30:17It's a question for everyone.
- 30:18And that's for you, Emma.
- 30:20Do you feel it like when you're driving?
- 30:23I don't know.
- 30:24I mean, I have a play seat, so I have, like, a direct drive wheel
- 30:28stuck on a play seat, so it's, like, very I wouldn't call it unstable,
- 30:32but it's not the most stable thing.
- 30:33I probably push on my wheel more than pull.
- 30:36Yeah, I think I'm pushing.
- 30:39Yeah, I push more than pull.
- 30:41Right, right, right.
- 30:42Yeah, I see on your TikTok.
- 30:44Oh, by the way, guys, Emma is on TikTok.
- 30:46So if you want to see a simracing content, and she's
- 30:49also posting her simracing setup.
- 30:52Right?
- 30:53I think it's been on your TikTok, I believe, when you're
- 30:55like, on top of the post.
- 31:00Yeah.
- 31:00If you guys want to see more simracing content on TikTok, or if you guys
- 31:05want to see, like, who are the female content creator, simracing content
- 31:09creator on TikTok, Emma is one of them.
- 31:12So give a follow.
- 31:13Emma, can you share your TikTok?
- 31:15Do you mind sharing your TikTok to us?
- 31:18Yeah, I actually have to remember what it is.
- 31:21I created my TikTok so that I could just document my sim racing journey.
- 31:26True.
- 31:26Um, so I think Just using TikTok like a diary, like a sim racing diary journal.
- 31:32It's really cool because I will forget what I did and then I go
- 31:35back and then I'm like, oh, wow, I was really slow back then.
- 31:39Um, I don't know if I, if it's going to be able to be visible on
- 31:42the screen, but it's Belissima.
- 31:43So, B E L I S I M A.
- 31:46S S E M M A dot racing.
- 31:51Bellissima dot racing.
- 31:54Yeah, so that's the TikTok.
- 31:56It's not a website, guys, that's the username.
- 31:58So if you guys wanna follow Emma on TikTok, that's the username.
- 32:02And yeah, she's posting her simracing setup.
- 32:05She's sharing a lot on TikTok, more than me and everyone else, I feel like.
- 32:10Cause, I don't know, I don't get the TikTok.
- 32:13Why are you choosing TikTok?
- 32:14Um, I don't like, I tried to do Instagram too, and I just don't like it.
- 32:22Um, I can just record it and overlay my video and be done with it.
- 32:27And if there's like a more of a casual, I mean, I personally don't even use TikTok.
- 32:33Actually, I don't watch videos on TikTok.
- 32:34Um, I just upload there.
- 32:36Like I, I'm pretty, I'm not an advocate for TikTok actually.
- 32:40But I just make my videos and post it there and I can
- 32:43talk about whatever I want.
- 32:44If I wanted to do, I used to, like, I was gaining a lot of momentum last
- 32:49year on TikTok and I stopped doing it because the work kind of got in the way
- 32:53and then, you know, fell off a cliff.
- 32:54But I was posting videos where I was just talking about my laps and didn't
- 32:58even have a lap overlay or anything.
- 33:00And people weren't moving with that just as much as they do when I show
- 33:03my laps, um, which I don't think would be the case on Instagram.
- 33:08And YouTube takes a lot of editing time, stuff like that.
- 33:10TikTok, I've got it kind of down.
- 33:12Um, and there's just so much, I just feel like you have to be so involved
- 33:17with other social media platforms.
- 33:18And my goal isn't to be like a content creator necessarily.
- 33:22Like I just wanted to document my journey because when I was
- 33:26searching for Sim drivers, it was always people who are really good.
- 33:30And like, you're watching someone do like a crazy lap and you're like, okay, cool.
- 33:34And then you try it and you're eight seconds slower.
- 33:36And it's like, well, then I must just not be cut out for this.
- 33:39So I wanted to create a channel that kind of shows the progress.
- 33:44Like, you will not see me winning races on my TikTok, sorry.
- 33:47Maybe someday, but I'm always just, like, trying to beat my own best time.
- 33:52You know, I'm definitely comparing my time to other people and stuff, but
- 33:55it's just focusing on my own growth and documenting my races in my league
- 33:59that nobody knows about or really, you know, cares about because it's not
- 34:03like a major esports thing or anything.
- 34:05It's just my friends.
- 34:06But a lot of people seem to really enjoy it, um, and there's definitely I feel like
- 34:12there's just not too many female creators in the motorsports space in general.
- 34:16It's a very small kind of group.
- 34:18And so I'm also just an advocate for women in motorsports.
- 34:21So the more visibility, the better.
- 34:24Um, so I kind of created the, the TikTok just so I could have something for
- 34:28myself, mostly for myself, just to look back on, but also if other people can
- 34:33enjoy it and find inspiration in it.
- 34:35Like people are always trying to beat my time, which isn't that difficult.
- 34:37So.
- 34:38Please do.
- 34:39But, um, yeah, it's just cool to see.
- 34:42And then I talked to the same people and they helped me out with labs and stuff.
- 34:45So it's just another way to build the community.
- 34:48Yeah.
- 34:48I feel like, I don't know.
- 34:51I feel like the way you explain, like, why are you making a TikTok account?
- 34:55Why are you posting a video?
- 34:56It makes me feeling relatable, you know, cause yeah, you see a lot of good drivers,
- 35:02but you should remember that those top drivers are the top 1 percent of Millions
- 35:07of people who got into sim racing.
- 35:09So it means that most of us, we are quick.
- 35:13We know how to drive, but it's different, you know, like it's on a different level.
- 35:18So sometimes people are stressed out about the race.
- 35:24You know what I mean?
- 35:24Like, Oh my God, I'm not fast.
- 35:26I'm not a pro.
- 35:28Something like that.
- 35:29Cause yeah, I don't know.
- 35:30For me, just making like.
- 35:32Yeah, everyone feels relatable because in the end we're like, we are messing
- 35:37up our race and yes Everybody is on their journey to become a pro.
- 35:42Like you'll see clips on my tiktok of me just Spinning out like I don't spin out
- 35:47Even that's cool because I can go back and be like, wow, I couldn't even finish
- 35:50a lap before and now I like You know, I just totally messed up in this race
- 35:54and I, I don't have like the cool, like, Oh, it overtook two people in one corner
- 35:58thing like that doesn't happen to me.
- 36:00I just like happened to avoid people spinning out in front of me or something.
- 36:04And, um, that's another thing I always encourage people to do is like, just
- 36:08try to have a clean race, because if you can just have a clean race, you can
- 36:11pick off everyone who, even if they're two seconds faster than you, every
- 36:14lab, if they're two seconds faster than you and they spin out and they're out
- 36:18for 30 seconds trying to get back on track, like you still beat that person.
- 36:21Yeah.
- 36:23That is super true Clean racing is yeah, because it doesn't matter if
- 36:27you're fast and then you mess up the next lap Everybody is gonna pass
- 36:31you anyway Yeah For your fastest ferrari setup visit melissimondo.
- 36:38racing That's so hard.
- 36:41They're making it sounds like it's an ad Yeah, I definitely probably
- 36:47wouldn't trust my Ferraris.
- 36:51I definitely, I'm trying to think of it right now, because right now I'm
- 36:55in the Mustang zone and I'm just, I can't even remember my brake bias.
- 37:01The most useful thing for the Ferrari for ACC that I can remember is to
- 37:05set your steering, uh, Setting 16.
- 37:09Yeah, the steering ratio to 16 and then your wheel, um, degrees 800.
- 37:14Oh yeah.
- 37:15Oh yeah, I forgot.
- 37:17I think ACC has like a different wheel angle or, or wheel rotation kind of thing.
- 37:23It's very for, big apparently, like I really, like I had to change my mind
- 37:27a lot for the Mustang and I was like, wow, I can't get the car to turn in.
- 37:31And my friend was like, yeah, what's your, what's your, what's your, Real
- 37:34angle and I was like, oh, it's 800.
- 37:36He was like, yeah, that's way too high.
- 37:37. So there's like stuff you have to change.
- 37:40But like I said, I'm not a pro, I don't sit like, I mean, okay.
- 37:43I shouldn't say that.
- 37:44I do tweak my setup as I go.
- 37:45Mm-hmm . Most well, like when I have been getting a certain lap time and
- 37:50then I'm not getting it anymore with the same setup and then it makes me
- 37:52mad, then I like change something kind of, I, I do it a little bit too
- 37:56drastically, but I change something.
- 37:58So just to get my brain in the mode of like, I have to learn how to be
- 38:02fast again, because it just helps me.
- 38:06Like if I, you know, mess with the anti roll bar or totally mess with
- 38:10the brake bias, and then I have to like, all of a sudden the car is not
- 38:13behaving the way it was before it gets my brain into the sense of like, okay,
- 38:17you're still learning, like you have to get into like an absorption mode.
- 38:20So I usually do that and then get mad again and then switch back to my
- 38:24original setup and it kind of works.
- 38:27Uh, wait, Jacob.
- 38:31Hey, by the way.
- 38:31Hey, Jacob.
- 38:32I didn't see you there.
- 38:33I'm sorry.
- 38:33Hi, Jacob.
- 38:34Very nice to have you here today.
- 38:35Welcome to Innit Talks.
- 38:37So, you're saying the only race that ever truly matters is the
- 38:40one you run is against yourself.
- 38:43True.
- 38:44To be that little bit better than you were yesterday.
- 38:47It's more like trying to beat yourself.
- 38:49That's how I feel.
- 38:50It's all in your mind.
- 38:52Like for the Ferrari E Sports Challenge, we were doing a Hot Lap Challenge
- 38:56at Brands Hatch in ACC, and I was trying to break out of the 124s.
- 39:03Um, I was at like a 124.
- 39:0500, 0 3 4 I think was my time.
- 39:09And I was so close, and we only, I was gone visiting friends for like four days
- 39:15of it, so I didn't have time in the rig.
- 39:17I I was basically learning ACC for the first time too and I was like, I came
- 39:21back and I just drove for like hours and hours and hours until my brain just like
- 39:26melted and I could not break the 24th.
- 39:28I didn't end up breaking it and it was like, it was demoralizing for me.
- 39:32It was really tough.
- 39:34I was just like, wow, I'm just not even good enough to get in the 23s.
- 39:37Like what the heck?
- 39:38And then, um, one of my friends is a, he is a new sports driver and
- 39:42he was like, we literally, cause I track all my times every day.
- 39:45I track my best time.
- 39:47And I would suggest if you're getting frustrated with simracing,
- 39:50make a Google Sheet and just put your best time every single day
- 39:54and you will see your improvement.
- 39:55Because if you look at my sheet, even for this challenge, I was starting the
- 39:58208s, um, and that was literally the best I could do that day was a 208.
- 40:03And now I'm in the 206s, um, and hoping to break the 205s soon.
- 40:08Um, and it's just, but to me it doesn't feel like I've improved that much,
- 40:13but then I look at that timing sheet.
- 40:14And you have to have a clear agreement, like, even if you didn't, yeah, if
- 40:18you didn't meet your, your goal, like, I didn't break into the 123s,
- 40:21but I started at, like, a 127 or something, managed to break it down, so.
- 40:27You kind of have to reevaluate.
- 40:28That's why it's good to have friends who race, too, because they can
- 40:30kind of tell you, like, stop beating yourself up and stuff like that.
- 40:33Yeah, I feel like your friends can be, like, a really good tool.
- 40:38Mental coach as in like, yeah, because your friends seeing everything like
- 40:42from outside the bubble when you're like focusing on things your friends
- 40:46can give you like an input like, oh, you know what you're doing it wrong.
- 40:49You didn't realize that in that corner.
- 40:51Yeah, you know, and it really boosts my performance in sim racing since
- 40:56I'm racing or just even just driving or driving around just being silly.
- 41:01Just, you know, like having like silly battle.
- 41:04It really boost me a lot in sim racing.
- 41:08Yeah, I mean, I have friends in my league who I was so frustrated with Coda.
- 41:13I was sector three.
- 41:14I just could not get it.
- 41:15And I just had one of my friends hop on my onboard and watch.
- 41:18And he was like, you just have to be more patient.
- 41:20You're just trying to rush it.
- 41:21You can't rush it.
- 41:22And it feels like you're going slower, but you're actually going faster.
- 41:25And I was like, yeah, yeah, everyone says that.
- 41:27But then he was in my ear watching me do it.
- 41:29And he's like, don't no throttle, wait, just keep waiting.
- 41:33And then finally, it started coming together.
- 41:35And it was like, Oh, You were right the whole time, but I
- 41:38wasn't going to find it myself.
- 41:39I had to have someone else tell me.
- 41:41Yeah, you need someone else to see from outside to spot like what
- 41:45are your weakness in the track.
- 41:47Because when you're driving, you'll be focusing on, oh yeah, I need to
- 41:50go to this corner, no off track.
- 41:51It depends on what are your goals on your driving.
- 41:54So you won't pay attention to those, to those details,
- 42:00I must say, to other details.
- 42:02Yeah.
- 42:03Yeah.
- 42:05And, by the way, speaking about the preparation, going into this qualifying
- 42:10race, how is everything going with you?
- 42:12Are you ready?
- 42:13Nervous?
- 42:14Going?
- 42:15I mean, the cool thing about, I race every single week, different
- 42:18track, like we do, my league does a different car every season, at
- 42:23different tracks all over the world, so I credit my league to helping me.
- 42:28Kind of be prepared to just jump into races because we only have
- 42:32like a week to prep and then we jump in the race and it's like full on.
- 42:35And there's some people in my league who are alien level, just like, okay.
- 42:39Um, so for this, it's like definitely, um, I kind of split my practice
- 42:44into qualifying practice and then race pace, because for me with ACC,
- 42:49especially like somebody that I'll get on ACC and my, like, I can do.
- 42:55Um, A two Oh six one on coda.
- 42:57And then the next day, the best I could do is like a two Oh seven nine.
- 43:00And I'm like, why?
- 43:02So it's all about like momentum.
- 43:03So I always practice qualifying laps first.
- 43:07Maybe it's just a confidence thing in my brain or whatever.
- 43:09But as soon as I start setting the fast laps, then all of a
- 43:13sudden the time could come down.
- 43:14But if I just focusing on keeping it clean and like, I just tend to go slower.
- 43:19So yeah, I've definitely been prepping more and then.
- 43:24AI races are sort of helpful for ACC.
- 43:27I do that a lot for the Ferrari eSports Challenge, um, our race at Spa.
- 43:33And I had to like relearn Spa cause I had not raced it in a long time.
- 43:38Um, But it was just, I had my qualifying pace and I knew
- 43:42what line I was supposed to do.
- 43:44But then you have to think about where people are gonna try to overtake you.
- 43:47Are you ready to change your line if somebody's in the way
- 43:50of your racing line and stuff?
- 43:52So I'm just kind of starting into that practice and figuring it all out for Koda.
- 43:56But I've raced here a lot before and we did a GT4 series that went to Koda in AC.
- 44:02So I'm quite familiar with, uh, The dive bomb spots and all that.
- 44:07The dive bomb spots at Cota . Yeah.
- 44:12I don't know.
- 44:12I feel like Kota is, to me, Kota is like the hardest track in United States.
- 44:18It's not difficult.
- 44:19Mm-hmm.
- 44:19Very technical.
- 44:20Like, I don't get the groove around the track.
- 44:23Uh, I just, I'm just Okay.
- 44:25At that track.
- 44:26I don't even consider myself as, yeah.
- 44:29I, um, like my first sector.
- 44:32Is less than a tenth away from like a 204 lab, but then the rest of it is not.
- 44:39So, my focus has been definitely Sector 2, Sector 3 for sure.
- 44:45Sector 3 is more technical, or at least for me, Sector 3 is my biggest weakness.
- 44:52For sure.
- 44:52Like, oh god, I don't, oh god, I'm wishing you good luck, okay?
- 44:57I really hope you're winning it, you will win it, and you will represent
- 45:01United States in the global esports game, I would love to see it.
- 45:06Oh my god.
- 45:06We'll see what happens.
- 45:07Oh my god, that would be like super cool.
- 45:09Okay, Ash, you got another question.
- 45:12Can Alma, can Emma tell us her least favorite track in
- 45:15ACC and why is it Alton Park?
- 45:17She hasn't answered yet, Ash.
- 45:20I actually like Alton.
- 45:22See, but to be fair, I haven't raced in GT3s.
- 45:26We did a TCR series and I've done, I think we also did an MX5 series.
- 45:31I liked it.
- 45:32I mean, I shouldn't say that.
- 45:34It was definitely frustrating, but the races were fun.
- 45:38And honestly, I haven't, I haven't done GT3s on a ton of tracks on ECC,
- 45:43I've pretty much only done Misano,
- 45:49Monza, Spa, and Koda, Brands, Hatch, and then a couple other ones, but
- 45:57I literally had to download all of the, DLC for the Ferrari e sports
- 46:01series because I Didn't have it.
- 46:04So I was really happy to find that.
- 46:06I actually had the american track pack for this one.
- 46:08So Sorry, I can't give you a better answer, but oh, I should oh, that's
- 46:12a lie My least favorite track is paul ricard 100 Oh my god, I had this
- 46:18conversation Everywhere and seems like everybody agreed with you with me.
- 46:23And yeah, everybody said like How was the LFWM, um, like, license
- 46:31track when I was trying to do LFM?
- 46:33And I was like, how can I be really fast at brands and then just can't
- 46:39even qualify for LFM at Paul Ricard?
- 46:41It made me so mad.
- 46:45No.
- 46:46French counterpart.
- 46:49Yeah, it is.
- 46:51It's so confusing, I'm sorry, but if anyone here likes Pole
- 46:55Record, but yeah, I'm sorry.
- 46:56I'm just, let's say I'm so sucks at it.
- 46:59I'm sucks.
- 46:59Yeah, I'm not good at it at all.
- 47:02I haven't even tried it since, like, it was just embarrassing.
- 47:05I was like, wow, I'm so bad at this.
- 47:07I think in GT3 you can be like, under 2 minutes.
- 47:10What's the, what's the fast lap time in Pole Record?
- 47:14But, yeah, it's like, I'm not good at it.
- 47:16I don't even remember what my times were at Paul Ricard.
- 47:19Yeah, I don't even remember.
- 47:20I only raced in ACC.
- 47:21It was so bad that when I looked it up, it like, didn't even come up as a remotely
- 47:26possible time people were getting.
- 47:28And I was like, okay, I'm just not gonna look at this anymore.
- 47:32The worst French Grand Prix track.
- 47:36Is that track still exists?
- 47:37I mean, I think people still drive in Paul Ricard for endurance or something, right?
- 47:43I don't know about endurance, but yeah, I know people definitely,
- 47:47I know people who have actually driven that track in real life.
- 47:50I don't have any Is that track is still active technically?
- 47:55And maybe we don't need to tell iRacing that Paul Ricard exists so they
- 47:59won't add Paul Ricard to the track.
- 48:02And I hope, or probably in ACC Evo, we won't have Paul Ricard.
- 48:09I'm so But a lot of people don't like Coda either.
- 48:14I mean, Coda's really I've been to the Formula 1 race at Coda.
- 48:17I went in 2018, so I got to see Kimi Raikkonen's last win in person,
- 48:21which is my big goal for that.
- 48:24Um, and it's an awesome track to watch a race at.
- 48:28It's definitely Now it's a lot more crowded.
- 48:32In 2018 It was like pre drive to survive.
- 48:35So I remember I walked up to the fan zone.
- 48:38I was 30 minutes before the autograph session and I was front row.
- 48:41And so I got Fernando Alonso's autograph, just like barely had weight.
- 48:46I was at the airport with Stoffel Van Doorn when he was racing for McLaren.
- 48:50He was just chilling.
- 48:51Nobody knew who he was.
- 48:53I was behind Lucio Rubinene in the TSA line.
- 48:57Um, I got dropped off in a Ferrari as I was leaving right in front of
- 49:01me and my dad was so jealous because he wasn't on the same flight as
- 49:04me and I was like, well I'm gonna go hang out with the Ferrari team.
- 49:09I'm not like that anymore.
- 49:11I haven't even been to Kota since then.
- 49:12I've been to IMSA races and even IMSA races are getting super packed.
- 49:16I went to Daytona and I went to Petit Le Mans.
- 49:19Oh my god, I'm so jealous of you now.
- 49:21I didn't even do the gridwalks the past couple times because
- 49:24they're so packed now.
- 49:26It's cool because motorsports definitely catching on, which is, which is good,
- 49:29but it was kind of nice seeing it grow, you know, like grow even bigger
- 49:33and bigger because I like the hype and everything, every time I'm going to a
- 49:36racetrack, like, oh my God, it's so hard to get a merch, you know, like Jonah, my
- 49:41friend had a spot in the Porsche club.
- 49:43So we like got to hang out with all the Porsche people and just like, Oh, wow.
- 49:49everything and we were right next to the track.
- 49:52Um, it was awesome.
- 49:54But personally, my favorite is Petit Le Mans in Atlanta.
- 49:58So fun.
- 50:00Yes, absolutely.
- 50:01It's a 12 hour endurance race.
- 50:02And actually the first time I went was with my racing league.
- 50:05A bunch of us, um, decided to go to the race together.
- 50:08So I met them all in real life and we just had like a blast at Petit
- 50:12Le Mans and now we go every year.
- 50:13So.
- 50:14Oh my God.
- 50:16I want to go to Petit Le Mans too.
- 50:18Um, it's a lot.
- 50:20Yeah.
- 50:21I wanted, ah, I think I only went to one IMSA race in Road America.
- 50:27I was still living in Chicago back then, so it was, it was
- 50:30an okay trip to Wisconsin.
- 50:32But now I live in California.
- 50:34The only option for me is going to Long Beach or going to Sonoma . Mm-hmm . Yeah.
- 50:40Oh my God.
- 50:41So you've been to date now?
- 50:4224.
- 50:43Yeah.
- 50:45How was it?
- 50:46It was a lot of fun.
- 50:47I, like I said, I like Petit Le Mans better.
- 50:50Um, because Petit, you can stay up for the whole race.
- 50:53It's 12 hours.
- 50:54So you can just like be part of it all.
- 50:57Oh, cool.
- 51:00Like it's definitely a different atmosphere and it's like kind of amazing.
- 51:02I've never been to Daytona before and I can't imagine what it's
- 51:05like for the Daytona 500 because.
- 51:08It has got to be crazy for the Daytona 500.
- 51:10It was like just seeing how many empty seats there were for the
- 51:13Rolex 24 compared to Daytona sold out every year, the Daytona 500.
- 51:18Um, it was really cool.
- 51:20It was a really fun time, but I was, I have to say, like, I was
- 51:23less focused on the racing at Daytona and was more focused on like
- 51:26walking around and like doing stuff.
- 51:28Whereas petite, like, You can't escape the racing and there's a lot
- 51:32of really cool technical points on track where You can just kind of
- 51:36see all the action So I love it.
- 51:38I bet and especially like you have the You have the gt3 gtp racing in road atlanta.
- 51:45Oh my god I actually went to the ferrari challenge race at road atlanta as well.
- 51:51Oh It was not very packed at all it was very empty and I got to I actually got to
- 51:57sit in a couple ferraris because I just ended up talking to the Ferrari people.
- 52:01They had a Puro Sangue there.
- 52:02So I was like, Oh, this is really cool.
- 52:04Um, and so there's, it was definitely a different vibe though.
- 52:07Like it really wasn't all about like, I don't know how to explain it.
- 52:10It was just a different vibe.
- 52:12So I like it better, but it was cool.
- 52:14Like, it was really cool to see the Ferrari challenge in person.
- 52:18Around Ferraris is always cool.
- 52:21The real race is the MX 5 in IMSA.
- 52:23Yeah, I must say, the real race is the MX 5.
- 52:26One of the MX 5 races is terrifying.
- 52:28Like, I don't know how those guys do it.
- 52:31And it is crazy.
- 52:32Like, the bumper to Like, they're just Yeah, I can't do it.
- 52:37That would freak me out.
- 52:37And I would also immediately wreck out the person behind me because
- 52:41they'd be trying to draft me and I would brake too early and just Oh no!
- 52:47The MX 5 is going like six wide into turn one.
- 52:49Yeah, I mean, oh my god at first when I first watching the MX 5
- 52:53at Daytona honestly, I was quite skeptical because okay MX 5.
- 52:58Okay.
- 52:58Let's see what we got and I think it was like 40 minutes race, I believe in
- 53:03Daytona MX 5 and it was like full of full of like drafting close racing and
- 53:08I was like, wow, I changed my mind.
- 53:10I'm humbled bro.
- 53:12I'm like, yeah.
- 53:15I think it's Erdalina too, 24 Hours of Lemons, where you have your car, it
- 53:20has to be under 500, and you just race.
- 53:24That one seems fun, I haven't been to it, but a couple of my friends
- 53:27wanted to actually do the race.
- 53:28And I was like, look, I like sim racing, I don't really think I'm gonna get in a real
- 53:33car, especially a 500 car, and actually race people, but people love it, so.
- 53:39I would love to, lowkey I want to get into that.
- 53:43Lowkey, I wanna build a Lambo.
- 53:46Yeah, people make some amazing cars.
- 53:48They decorate them really cool.
- 53:50That's how actual racing is, because half the time you're just trying to
- 53:53keep your car alive till the end.
- 53:55Yeah, yeah, yeah, you have to keep your car alive, true.
- 53:59And, Ash, guess what?
- 54:01Yeah, you're saying, by the way, you're saying like, yeah, this MX 5 going
- 54:04six wide into turn one in Daytona.
- 54:07And you should see the MX 5 going five wide.
- 54:11Into the SS at the Glen.
- 54:13Oh my God.
- 54:15It's just crazy.
- 54:16I love, I love watching them.
- 54:17It's five days, but I don't like driving the MX five because I'm bad.
- 54:23Yeah.
- 54:24It's like, like I said, like it was fun.
- 54:27Our lead did spec, um, we did spec me out as, and then we did MX five cup
- 54:32cars or something, and it was fun.
- 54:34My league was doing it.
- 54:34Cause everyone, like, I don't know, cause I know all of them and we all
- 54:37just have a good time all the time.
- 54:38Yeah.
- 54:39But iRacing, like, you're, it's a lot more by yourself, and all of my League buddies
- 54:44are like, have an insane iRating, and I'm just like, I haven't even attempted to
- 54:49work on my iRating, because that's what kind of stresses me out about iRacing,
- 54:53it's like, I don't want to do bad in the race and ruin my iRating, and they're
- 54:55like, don't even think about it, just, just race, and the iRating will come
- 54:58later, but it still stresses me out.
- 55:00Yeah, I'm still thinking about it sometimes, and I'm still like,
- 55:03sometimes I get mad about it, like, uh, it's not like I'm mad.
- 55:07I'm feeling mad to other, to another people, but it's more
- 55:10like, how can I be this sucks?
- 55:12I can do better.
- 55:13It's, you know, that feeling sometimes.
- 55:15Yeah, for sure.
- 55:17Um, like I'm blaming myself.
- 55:19Like if I'm like losing a lot, I'll be like, okay, else your sucks.
- 55:23Like, but yeah, it's really easy to get into, like I was in a
- 55:28pretty negative mindset two days ago with my hot lapping time.
- 55:31I literally thought I was never going to, Breaking the 206s.
- 55:35I was like, I can't do it.
- 55:37I'm stuck.
- 55:38I can't do it.
- 55:39And then I got a 206 9 and then the next day I got a 206 7, the next day a 206 5.
- 55:46Nice.
- 55:47Have to keep Sometimes you do need to step away.
- 55:50You have to step away from your rig for a minute and take a breather and come
- 55:53back because if you're driving really angry, it's not really gonna work.
- 55:58True.
- 55:58Actually, I took a coaching session lately.
- 56:01Like, I went on I just want to get good in driving the Porsche car.
- 56:04That's why I took the coaching session.
- 56:07And this is what I learned from my coach.
- 56:10Instead of like, you're actually pushing yourself after this coaching
- 56:13session, why don't you take a break, go to sleep, come back later.
- 56:18Come back in the morning.
- 56:19I tried to follow that and I improved more than when I was
- 56:24like pushing myself real hard.
- 56:26Really.
- 56:28It's really, I mean, racing is just such a, like I said,
- 56:30it's like learning a language.
- 56:31So you got to give your, your brain can't process it.
- 56:34Like sleep helps your brain process it.
- 56:35So there's all kinds of stuff going on in the background that you're not paying
- 56:40attention to because I try to push it.
- 56:41When I was driving brands hash, I was driving it like four hours a
- 56:44day, trying to get a better time.
- 56:45And it was not good.
- 56:47I just couldn't get better because I just was pushing too much.
- 56:53Luka!
- 56:53Hi, hi!
- 56:54No, you're not late.
- 56:55We're having a chat, but I think we're all maybe like we're like 15 20
- 57:00minutes done because Emma, our guest, is currently on her lunch break.
- 57:04So we're like kidnapping Emma for this podcast.
- 57:07So she got to go.
- 57:08Get back to work after this.
- 57:10So but you're not late.
- 57:11You're not late You still have time to hang out here, by the way.
- 57:14Hi luka Very nice to have you here with emma the driver for the us
- 57:19online qualifier for the upcoming global esports games Hi luka.
- 57:23Hi.
- 57:24Hi So emma, by the way Speaking about the racetrack we talk about imsa.
- 57:29We talk about yeah, imsa daytona roller planta everything Then
- 57:35it got me thinking what are your favorite tracks in real life?
- 57:39And why?
- 57:41Other than attending the event, let's talk about the track itself.
- 57:45I don't know, I think, I mean this is going to sound really
- 57:49cliche, but I really like Monaco.
- 57:52Just for the history of Monaco, but also when you do a really good lap around
- 57:57Monaco, it's a pretty cool feeling.
- 58:00Great.
- 58:00Um, so Monaco is probably one, and then, I haven't been to it though,
- 58:06but my favorite track that I've ever been to probably is Monza.
- 58:10Oh, wow.
- 58:11What?
- 58:11Monza is really cool, and if you ever go, you can go to the old banking.
- 58:17And I went to the old banking, and, um, yeah, I was just, it's, it's really cool.
- 58:24Um, so yeah, that would be probably my two favorite European tracks, sorry.
- 58:29But, but yeah.
- 58:33Have you ever been to any F1 race in, in the Europe or not yet?
- 58:37Not in Europe.
- 58:38I was, funny story.
- 58:40I was, my friend, I have friends in Italy who live in Milan.
- 58:43Um, actually my friend Lux is the one who drew the Monza poster for
- 58:49Ferrari, this for the past race.
- 58:51Wow.
- 58:51Um, so Lux and I hang out all the time whenever I go to, to Italy
- 58:57and, uh, they took me to Monza.
- 59:00Uh, I've been to Monza.
- 59:03Twice now?
- 59:03Yeah, twice.
- 59:04And it's just been really cool.
- 59:06So, I'm always invited to Monza, but I haven't been able to go.
- 59:11Um, I did ask if I could go hang out in the Ferrari, um, hospitality
- 59:16with Lux this past time, but, obviously, that didn't happen.
- 59:19Um, yeah, and then I have, uh, friends who live by Zandvoort and
- 59:24stuff, so I have friends around, I just have to, like, just hang out.
- 59:27Give a goal, make it out there.
- 59:28Yeah.
- 59:28Yeah.
- 59:28Make a plan and visit.
- 59:31Because it's actually like I went to Coda, I don't mind saying this.
- 59:35When I went to Dakota in 2018, I bought tickets, three day tickets that were at
- 59:39turned 15, like mm-hmm . Where all the crowds were happening, and we got to see
- 59:44a Bruno Mars concert and it was $500 for the whole weekend . Um, and now those
- 59:49same seats are $1,600 just for one day.
- 59:52Wow.
- 59:54Yeah, that's unaffordable in the U.
- 59:57S., which I really hate.
- 1:00:00It's actually cheaper to go to Europe, to fly to Europe and go to
- 1:00:03a race and come back than it is to go, to just get tickets in the U.
- 1:00:06S.
- 1:00:06So, I don't think we'll be a European race unless I get invited to a U.
- 1:00:11S.
- 1:00:11race to go for free, because otherwise I'm not paying for it.
- 1:00:14Sorry.
- 1:00:14Yeah, the price is crazy.
- 1:00:17And you're right, I feel like it's cheaper for us right now to travel
- 1:00:20to Europe and get the Evo ticket.
- 1:00:22One, there's a lot of race in the Europe more than the United States,
- 1:00:27and there are like a lot of, or there are some tickets that is affordable.
- 1:00:33I think Zandvoort is one of them, I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, but
- 1:00:36Zandvoort is one of the I know the Monza is actually pretty affordable
- 1:00:40still, like, they just, they're upping the prices a little bit every year, but
- 1:00:45Yeah, this year my friends were like, oh my gosh, Monza is so expensive, it's
- 1:00:49like 250 for the weekend, and I was like Wait till you see Texas, Vegas.
- 1:00:58I don't know about Miami.
- 1:00:59I'm not sure about Miami.
- 1:01:00Miami is pretty expensive.
- 1:01:02I had friends who went to the very first Miami race.
- 1:01:06Uh, they, I could have bought a ticket for 800 for the whole weekend,
- 1:01:11but I was like, um, I don't really like going to Florida in general.
- 1:01:14So, sorry.
- 1:01:16Las Vegas Grand Prix is out then.
- 1:01:18Yeah.
- 1:01:20I'm having a mixed feeling about the last Vegas, okay?
- 1:01:23First of all, I know everybody been complaining about the policy and
- 1:01:27everything, everything that is going on in Vegas during the race weekend,
- 1:01:32which everybody hates that, which I understand that, but the race
- 1:01:35itself was actually pretty good.
- 1:01:39The race was kind of like, paid off to me, at least last year.
- 1:01:43So I don't know about this year, quite hoping.
- 1:01:45Yeah.
- 1:01:46I just wish that.
- 1:01:48Formula one wasn't getting so prohibitive, everyone, um,
- 1:01:53it's just like, I don't know.
- 1:01:54But then it is like weird, like going to the race at Coto was super fun and
- 1:01:59it was like an absolute blast, but mm-hmm . I still like watching it at
- 1:02:03home 'cause you get all the action.
- 1:02:05I mean, rcs even had like the big screen so we could pretty much
- 1:02:07watch the whole thing on screen.
- 1:02:09But it's different.
- 1:02:10Yeah, it's definitely different.
- 1:02:12At least for me, going to racetrack, it's like.
- 1:02:15Feels like going to Disneyland.
- 1:02:16It's more like the experience, like you're walking from, even from the
- 1:02:20parking lot to the, to the entrance and then like you walk around.
- 1:02:25I know, I know like, yeah, we will see more action on TV, but
- 1:02:29sometimes I like to go to racetrack to listen to the sound of the car.
- 1:02:33Yeah, the sound is cool.
- 1:02:34There's nothing, the sound.
- 1:02:38Like, sometimes I'm just like, I don't know.
- 1:02:40I just want to sit down and like, Oh my God, just enjoy the car goes fast.
- 1:02:45You know?
- 1:02:45Oh yeah.
- 1:02:46Daytona is really cool for that because you just can't
- 1:02:49watch it for 24 hours straight.
- 1:02:51Like some people do, but we were just like sitting in lawn chairs, like hanging
- 1:02:56out and cars are just like flying by, but you get super dirty because, uh,
- 1:03:01like Rubbers flying off the track.
- 1:03:03You don't even see it and by the end of the day, you're like wiping your
- 1:03:05face off and it's all black Oh my god.
- 1:03:09Oh my god First of all gene, thank you so much for subscribing
- 1:03:14to our channel to init esports.

- 1:03:37community to this channel.
- 1:03:39Thank you so much.
- 1:03:40I really appreciate you And hello everyone.
- 1:03:43Welcome to init talks.
- 1:03:44Oh my god.
- 1:03:45We're having a chat with emma right now Oh my god, how's it going, you guys?
- 1:03:51How's it going?
- 1:03:52So, we are having a chat about, basically right now we are having Emma as our guest
- 1:03:57and we are having a chat about ACC F1.
- 1:03:59Well, now we are talking about the F1 race.
- 1:04:03So, I hope you guys really enjoy your time here, okay?
- 1:04:06Enjoy your time here, you all.
- 1:04:08I love you guys so much.
- 1:04:09Thank you, thank you.
- 1:04:12Yeah, by the way, oh my god, I got distracted, but thank you so
- 1:04:16much again for all the support.
- 1:04:18I really appreciate you guys So I'm by the way speaking about your goal.
- 1:04:23Do you what are your goals?
- 1:04:25Do you wanna be a race car driver one day?
- 1:04:28um, no, that's not I started sim racing just because I saw it as a
- 1:04:36completely new challenge, and I just wanted to prove to myself that I
- 1:04:40can learn something completely new.
- 1:04:43And it doesn't matter how old you are when you start, you can still be My dad
- 1:04:47can probably still beat me on a track, and he has been playing Gran Turismo on
- 1:04:52controller since like, Playstation 2 days.
- 1:04:55Um, And it's just like, there's plenty, there's so many people.
- 1:04:59It's like, I feel like there's so many barriers to entry in sim racing.
- 1:05:03And I just kind of wanted to show that it doesn't matter when you start, as
- 1:05:07long as you dedicate time to it and enjoy it, like you can get anywhere.
- 1:05:11So my goal is to be, I mean, obviously I want to win.
- 1:05:15There's no question, but, um, I want to win on, on my terms, having documented the
- 1:05:21whole journey to get there, just to kind of, I don't know how long it's gonna take.
- 1:05:25I remember when I first started I was like, I'm gonna be I wanted to be a
- 1:05:29formula one esports like world champion and now i'm like Jarno Otmir pretty much
- 1:05:34has that one down so he can Do that.
- 1:05:37I will stick to what i'm doing and if I can win a race in my league I'll be set.
- 1:05:42That would be a pretty pretty cool thing for me um, maybe Maybe you will be in the
- 1:05:49women division in the qualifying race.
- 1:05:51We never know Right?
- 1:05:53Maybe you will get your win in a few days from now, right?
- 1:05:58I think the race will be on 21st, right?
- 1:06:00On the 21st and 22nd?
- 1:06:02Something like that?
- 1:06:04Definitely have to do to get there.
- 1:06:07Counting days, oh my god, oh my god.
- 1:06:10I really hope you're going to at least have a good result, you know?
- 1:06:13And I'm wishing you having a good time.
- 1:06:17That's the most important thing.
- 1:06:18It's been really cool so far.
- 1:06:20It's cool.
- 1:06:21The esports community is small, but, um, it's, it's a really
- 1:06:25good community to be part of.
- 1:06:26So you can really do a lot with it.
- 1:06:30Like that's what's been so cool for me.
- 1:06:32It's like, I never have a problem reaching out to people.
- 1:06:34So like I've talked to the Ferrari esports team.
- 1:06:38Um, I've talked to the Porsche esports people, like just, just because I reached
- 1:06:44out and was like, Hey, Hey, This is cool.
- 1:06:46I'm not any good, but I'd love to talk to you guys.
- 1:06:49People are down for it, so.
- 1:06:52Right.
- 1:06:52Yeah, there's a lot of opportunities.
- 1:06:54And we'll see if I can make it a little bit more worth their while.
- 1:06:57Trying to get a we'll see.
- 1:07:00You know what, sometimes you just have to Well I don't know how to say it.
- 1:07:05Sometimes you just have to ask.
- 1:07:07Or you just have to start the conversation.
- 1:07:09Sometimes Absolutely.
- 1:07:10People are Sometimes people are, well, I myself feeling nervous
- 1:07:15too sometimes when I'm about to talk to big people in motorsport.
- 1:07:19But, you know, people are very nice.
- 1:07:22People are very welcoming.
- 1:07:24Even if you're a newbie in this motorsport, like, don't be afraid.
- 1:07:28Sometimes you just have to ask questions.
- 1:07:30Don't be afraid to ask questions and reach out.
- 1:07:32You can always ask.
- 1:07:35I even have a little story about this.
- 1:07:38So that's it.
- 1:07:39I signed Sebastian Vettel driver card from when he drove for Ferrari.
- 1:07:43And the reason, he sent it to me in the mail.
- 1:07:46Because I, he used to have like an address where you could just write
- 1:07:50him like a letter or something.
- 1:07:51And he was retiring, so my friends and I were just like, oh we'll
- 1:07:54just write Sebastian a letter.
- 1:07:56So I just wrote him a letter and I was like, hey, like, it was so
- 1:07:59great to watch you race in 2018.
- 1:08:01Like, I wish I would have been able to get your, um, autograph from Ferrari,
- 1:08:04but I never had the chance because I was too busy doing other stuff.
- 1:08:08But the Ferrari fan zone was packed, whatever.
- 1:08:10And then like three months later, he sent Aston Martin driver cards, but he
- 1:08:16also included a Ferrari driver card.
- 1:08:18So he actually read the letter and saw that I didn't get his
- 1:08:20signature when he drove for Ferrari.
- 1:08:22So he sent me that.
- 1:08:23So you always just have to ask.
- 1:08:25You never know what's going to happen.
- 1:08:27True.
- 1:08:27You have to ask.
- 1:08:29And it's free.
- 1:08:29It costs you nothing to ask questions, guys.
- 1:08:33All the coolest things that ever happened in my life, I just asked for them.
- 1:08:37Yeah, I mean, yeah, I mean, don't worry, trust me guys.
- 1:08:40Even though that you guys see me every week, or almost every day I'm streaming,
- 1:08:44and you can see that I'm like, hey everyone, but in real life, I feel
- 1:08:48nervous a lot, you know, like, oh god, I'm nervous of this, nervous of that.
- 1:08:53But I'm learning today from Emma, like, yeah, don't be afraid to ask questions.
- 1:08:58If Emma can do it, we can do it.
- 1:09:00Yep.
- 1:09:01Absolutely.
- 1:09:03Definitely.
- 1:09:03If I could do it, you guys could do it.
- 1:09:04Trust me.
- 1:09:05And again, by the way guys, if you guys are active on TikTok, feel free to give
- 1:09:10Emma and Init Esports a follow on TikTok.
- 1:09:13Because yeah, we'll be posting like a lot of video, more like a video on TikTok.
- 1:09:17Well, on Instagram also for us, on Init Esports and Screen2Speed.
- 1:09:21But if you want to follow Emma's journey in simracing, you can
- 1:09:25find her on TikTok at Bellissima.
- 1:09:29racing Did Emma race in the F1 series?
- 1:09:34No, I don't think Emma was racing in F1 series.
- 1:09:38Nope.
- 1:09:39This is only the second, like, actual, well, I guess third actual
- 1:09:44competition thing that I've ever done.
- 1:09:46Right, so the USAF qualifier is the third.
- 1:09:50Boom, event.
- 1:09:53I'm wishing you tons of luck.
- 1:09:54Oh my god.
- 1:09:55Honestly, I'm sucks at quali.
- 1:09:57So if there is like a competition that requires you to do the online quali, I'm
- 1:10:01like 70 percent I'm not gonna qualify.
- 1:10:04I'm more like focused on consistency instead of like pushing
- 1:10:07the pushing the car, you know.
- 1:10:09For everyone who passed the qualifying, you guys are so fantastic.
- 1:10:18It's definitely, it's a completely different mindset.
- 1:10:20And there's a lot of people, like, that's how my friends always tell me, like,
- 1:10:23yeah, there's always going to be people who are super fast hot lappers, but
- 1:10:26it doesn't mean they know how to race.
- 1:10:28So you just have to practice everything.
- 1:10:30True.
- 1:10:31I guess you need to find, like, what are your weakness and what are your greatness,
- 1:10:35as in, like, what are you good at?
- 1:10:36And to me, I like to maximize what I'm good at.
- 1:10:40And compromise a bit on my weakness, you know?
- 1:10:43Like, yeah.
- 1:10:44It's more like trying to find a balance instead of like trying
- 1:10:47to be good at everything.
- 1:10:49I like to focus on Yeah, my race pace in in this case and I'd also say like,
- 1:10:56you know when you're just starting out you still have to figure out the
- 1:10:58fundamentals, but At some point you do get to your own driving style where
- 1:11:02other people's advice won't actually help you get faster um, take it with
- 1:11:07a grain of salt because a lot of times people are telling you the right thing
- 1:11:09to do but there's been times where One of my friends who is like a professional
- 1:11:14esports person that watched me do a line and he was like, I didn't even know you
- 1:11:18could do that line, but it's actually just fast, so keep doing it, I guess.
- 1:11:23You can, you can always figure out your own thing.
- 1:11:28I hear Vettel could be coming back to F1?
- 1:11:33I read, I saw like some posts on internet a bit about, about Vettel, but I don't
- 1:11:40know if, if he's gonna make a comeback.
- 1:11:42to motorsport or something.
- 1:11:45I could, I think, I could see him coming back to motorsport,
- 1:11:48but I don't know about F1.
- 1:11:49I feel like F1 is just such a different sport now that, I don't
- 1:11:56know, it's Right, right, right.
- 1:11:57I get you.
- 1:11:58I get you.
- 1:12:01I hope to see Emma around in as many of the STS series as she can do.
- 1:12:06Amen to that, Luca.
- 1:12:08Amen.
- 1:12:08Emma is really fantastic.
- 1:12:10If you're on TikTok, again, give her a follow.
- 1:12:13Thanks, guys.
- 1:12:14I appreciate it.
- 1:12:15I actually do have to run.
- 1:12:16I just got an email that I have to respond to, though.
- 1:12:19Right, right.
- 1:12:20Okay, um, okay, so let's say we are down to the last question now.
- 1:12:25Um, alright, so, um, let's see.
- 1:12:30Okay.
- 1:12:30I'm gonna, I'm gonna pick the last question, um, from the, from the chat.
- 1:12:34Okay.
- 1:12:35So we can feel more.
- 1:12:36Oh, related.
- 1:12:36Relatable.
- 1:12:38Hi Luka.
- 1:12:39So F1, ACC.
- 1:12:40So what other platforms do you raise?
- 1:12:43And is, okay, I will add that to another, I will add the question from Luka.
- 1:12:48So if there's like one sim that you want to master, you want to be
- 1:12:53very good at it, what would it be?
- 1:12:57Um, Well, this is going to sound bad because it's the one I'm least
- 1:13:02experienced with, but iRacing, because everything is moving towards iRacing now.
- 1:13:07And I feel like I kind of missed the boat on ACC.
- 1:13:10ACC used to be like, I feel like the top thing that everyone was driving.
- 1:13:13But now it seems like esports teams, um, in general are
- 1:13:18like moving towards iRacing.
- 1:13:20So I definitely have to get into that.
- 1:13:22So if I could master any, it would be that.
- 1:13:24But also, an unrelated sim, but Richard Burns Rally, um, which like,
- 1:13:30only exists on the, you know, nooks and crannies of the internet now.
- 1:13:34Um, if I could ever be good at that, I'd be really proud of myself,
- 1:13:38but rally is very difficult and a completely different ballgame, but.
- 1:13:42Right.
- 1:13:43I'm really looking forward to see you joining iRacing for sure.
- 1:13:49Like, so whenever you're Getting your subscription on iRacing and you feel
- 1:13:54like you want to race, feel free to reach out to us On discord at init esports.
- 1:13:59So maybe we can like, I don't know, even just having like a fun lobby with
- 1:14:04friends You know, like having fun being silly around Yeah, we always welcome
- 1:14:09you by the way Thank you so much.
- 1:14:12Yeah, I love, I would love to do something like that, because iRacing is just a
- 1:14:15lot more lonely of a sim for me, so.
- 1:14:18You won't feel lonely anymore, don't worry.
- 1:14:20You will find Because in eSports, I can say, like, our player
- 1:14:24base is really big in iRacing.
- 1:14:26So you won't feel lonely.
- 1:14:28Yeah.
- 1:14:28You will find, you will always find, like, someone to play with in iRacing.
- 1:14:33Yeah, I'll definitely hit you up then.
- 1:14:35Yeah.
- 1:14:36By the way, guys, guess what?
- 1:14:38Emma, so, again, Luca, we kidnapped Emma.
- 1:14:41So, she's like, in the middle of lunch break, and instead of having
- 1:14:45lunch, she's having a podcast with us.
- 1:14:50But now I have to let her go because she you need to get back to work, right?
- 1:14:55It's not even the weekend.
- 1:14:56Yeah Yeah Thank you so much emma.
- 1:15:00Thank you so much for your time today.
- 1:15:02so much And thank you everyone.
- 1:15:03I appreciate all your time and questions.
- 1:15:05Super cool Thank you.
- 1:15:07Thank you quick emma go it can run on an empty stomach.

- 1:15:27see you on the next episode of init talks.
- 1:15:30Okay.
- 1:15:30Yes, this is my last one.
- 1:15:32So I'm gonna say goodbye.
- 1:15:34I'm signing off from init talks, but it was a really nice talk
- 1:15:40to having Emma as the guest.
- 1:15:42But yeah, I'm wishing you all the best and Yeah, bye bye everyone.
- 1:15:47Love you guys.
- 1:15:48Thank you so much, Emma.
- 1:15:49Bye bye.
- 1:15:49Hey guys, thank you.
- 1:15:50Appreciate it.
- 1:15:51Bye.
- 1:15:51Love you guys.
