- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: All right, they had coach spoke today and we learned a few things.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's looking like, well, he said that he's preparing, he's preparing as if Larry Borham is going to be the starter and Austin Jackson will not play.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_00]: So we kind of knew that and we know James Daniels is on IR for four weeks.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_00]: But as always, these shows are brought to you by 305-800 paying just like the dolphins.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: Kick off the season.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: You need to be ready for it too.

- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: 305-800 paying.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: 305-800 paying.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: Alright, let's get into it.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: You know what can I say?
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: There's been a couple of days of this this film just doesn't get any better.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: It's awful and I still maintain what I've said what I said on the show early this week.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's mostly quarterback driven like there was a lot like look the quarterback didn't give them any chance to win that game against the the quotes.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: On the flip side, the defense also didn't give them any chance to win that game.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: Depends, it's absolutely terrible.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: So how do you fix these things?
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: Do you just, you know, just take it and go 11 and 16?
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, you fix things.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: You adjust things along the way.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: That lost, you know, you've heard my thinking on this and what I believe.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: I would have called that loss fatal, but,
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: it's it's a bad diagnosis let's just say that even after one game yes even after one game this one's a death now like this is essentially the entire season's writing on this game on on Sunday well they get it together we shall see that there's nothing that you can say about this team that
- 3:35[SPEAKER_00]: Like you can't just say I don't get it together.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: They'll get it together because we just don't know.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's a new season The new season has just kicked off, so we don't know if they'll get it together
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: We think we can because we have the previous three years of, and we have two of his career, like every time two has a stinker, he usually follows it up with a pretty damn good game, right?
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: But we don't know, it's a new year, you know, it's a new season.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: So we don't know if he's having a, if there's something wrong with him, if he's a different player now, we just don't know all those things.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_00]: So we shall see, right?
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: Again, we will take questions in the second half of this show.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: I'm pretty sure you're going to load them up right now So I could get to all of them injury questions are pretty pretty clear What are they going to do at guard?
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: Now the James Daniels is on IR for four weeks Seems like he on Smith is their the initial plan.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think about Brandon Daniels.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think about braiding Daniels after I saw him play in the preseason.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: There was something there and not to say that he's going to be absolutely great if you're going to put him in past pro situations, but I liked what I saw in the run game and that's enough, man, you know, once you get past, once you get past that, that's enough.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_00]: Now, it seems like we keep just, you know, dancing right past.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_00]: or whistling through to the graveyard with these things, because things keep happening.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'll give you an example.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_00]: All right, let's say you're a jogger, right?
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: And you keep injuring yourself.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: And one week, it's an ankle, another week is it's a killing soreness.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: And you're wondering, man, what is it with me?
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: I keep getting injured.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: At some point, I've got a frog in my throat.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: At some point, you just repair.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: What's wrong with you, right?
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: At some point, you just got to repair what's wrong with you, right?
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: And this team keeps having these injuries, year in, year out.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: And there seems to be no end-in site.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: like it just happens every single year.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: So you had to address each of the issues that this team has had.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: And why these guys keep getting injured.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: So first of all, if you just cut out guys with injury history, that would go a long way to solve in the problem.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: But in the latest episode of As The Players Get Injured on Austin Jackson, I think it's kind of obviously it's injury history and I think we're, we're near done with Austin Jackson.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think you're seeking to replace them at seasons and no matter what, no matter who's here, by the way.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: But James Dan was a different story.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: I heard his peck, so it wasn't like he was having a compensatory issue with his Achilles from last year.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: Now, he heard his peck, it's a new injury.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: So what is going on with this team that they keep finding injuries like this?
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think he has to do with their training regimen.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: I think he has to do with how they come back from injuries, he has to do with how they rehab injuries.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I'm kind of pretty well informed in this.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think the way that they bring guys back from injury is pretty damn good.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's universal around the league.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: Like there might be maybe one or two teams that do things that are a little bit outside the box.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: Dolphins aren't a one of them, like this is something that like you get, you bring guys back from injury pretty much the same way, okay, all across the league.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't think that that's the issue.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_00]: The issue is training players up until the point where they do get injured.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: And there's obviously a problem there.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: The head coach, Mike McLean, has changed their training camp regiment all three years.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_00]: They went from an extremely physical camp in 22 to lightning the load in 23, to essentially doing nothing in 24, to this year, going back
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: Right, so there's never been any consistency.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe that's the issue.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: Changing up the training regimen from year to year There they're camp routine from year to year has been a problem.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you should have the same camp routine I don't think that that's an issue as well because I've I've seen teams down here.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: I saw Shula teams that Probably over-trained in training camp
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: Nick Sabin, Jimmy Johnson, those were training camps.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: Like if you really wanted to weed out who was built for this and who wasn't, those were the type of training camps that you would run.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: Nick Sabin, especially, so that's not the issue either.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe the issue is in consistency and whatever their offseason program is.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: Because whatever it is, it's lacking, and it's not normal.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: It just isn't normal.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's not normal to have as many injuries as this team has from year to year.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_00]: And as many as they do find from year to year.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: All right, again, this show is brought to you by PricePix.

- 12:19[SPEAKER_00]: All right, let's get to these questions in the chat.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_00]: Last week, I was reading some of the older questions.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_00]: Matter of all, at this point.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_00]: There goes my dog.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: He wants to get in the closet, again, because it's raining outside.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_00]: Let me go assist Vinnie.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: So he could sneak into the closet.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_00]: I'll be right back.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm back, and Vinnie safely locked into kind of my closet slash gun vault, so he's all right, the the the rain monster won't get him in there now.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_00]: Let me take some of these questions.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_00]: First question, did money take work ethic to a, take the, that was a word salad there.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: Did money takes take to his work ethic.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, was it the constant belittling?
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's a little bit of everything.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: but I think that that contract also required him to work with team-approved people and he has.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: My issue has been he has not continued some of the things that made him successful.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_00]: Namely like Gjitsu, some of the extra curricular things.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_00]: He stuck with golf, which is a good thing, but it's not such a bad thing that pick up things that actually would help with your craft.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_00]: even fishing.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_00]: These are things that help you with your cognitive abilities, coordination, archery really helps you with breathing.
- 14:01[SPEAKER_00]: Bow hunting is pretty much all involved.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_00]: Jiu Jitsu is probably the best thing that he could have stuck with, but that's something he has to stick with for the rest of his career, right through until retirement.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_00]: It'll keep him flexible.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: It'll keep him ready to absorb punishment and to take hits.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: Rolling consistently, you know, at least once a week,
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: it'll help him, you know, we're tucking his chin, it'll drill things into him, which will keep him healthy.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: All of the things were good things.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_00]: The evidence is that he gave that up after that one season.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_00]: Oddly enough, the one season that he was completely healthy.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_00]: Alright next question, how soon before we know if Waller is the latest Baron Jones or Fuller and get placed on IR so we can add another tie into the roster?
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: I think, well, the head coach said toward the end of the week, this has been a sad and embarrassing chapter.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_00]: Here, it just has been.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_00]: Next question if there's one change you could make on the offense and defense what would it be that's a great question Because I have I actually have answers to this after I've given it some some some thought on defense I would make it a predominantly man the man defense now What are the benefits?
- 15:19[SPEAKER_00]: Okay here are the benefits you play a lot of press man It simplifies the defense you have some players in the secondary then know how to play that defense
- 15:29[SPEAKER_00]: and it's going to help your past rush, all right?
- 15:33[SPEAKER_00]: So it's going to add a little bit more time for quarterbacks to hold the football and try to make things happen.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_00]: So it's actually a good thing for your past rush.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_00]: Now, what are the, what's the downside to playing a lot more man?
- 15:54[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to give up more big
- 15:58[SPEAKER_00]: And again, certain quarterbacks, namely Josh Allen, you're going to get eviscerated because Josh Allen kills man to man defense.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_00]: He has trouble against them.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_00]: So we actually have the right scheme to slow down Josh Allen.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: We don't have the right players to slow down Josh Allen.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_00]: I say, look man, you're kind of desperate at this point.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_00]: These guys don't know how to play his own.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_00]: They can't play it.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_00]: Just play man, enough.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_00]: on offense, it's as simple as just get the quarterback right man.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_00]: Get the quarterback right and I would I would absolutely make genuine water.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: The primary is just what I would do.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_00]: It was one.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, next question.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_00]: Somebody post a picture of Liam Mac and Berg.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_00]: He should be on the way back, eventually.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Boram and Kian Smith look like they're just slated to start as a right now.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_00]: I already said I would I would probably start braiding Daniels because I like what he can give you in the run game.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_00]: But we shall see that there's still a little bit of time.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_00]: They're doing their full prep today.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_00]: Install tomorrow.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_00]: Friday is their last day of prep before the game on Sunday.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_00]: uh... somebody asks at one point does Stephen Ross have to make a change at head coach and gm i think that you have to be kind of forward forward looking in this regard i would have made a change at gm already i think uh... look i understand how people say i know more half measures fire everybody
- 17:45[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't work that way, man.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_00]: It really doesn't work that way.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_00]: You've got to hire a GM and let the GM, the new GM, this side on the head coach.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_00]: You just don't fire everybody because then maybe the GM comes in and I wonder what I mean?
- 17:58[SPEAKER_00]: I wanted to keep this guy.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_00]: You just don't know what I'm saying.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_00]: And remember when you fire a head coach, you're releasing all these coaches.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_00]: So if you're releasing all of these coaches, maybe there's some coaches you want to retain.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe there's one you want to interview?
- 18:11[SPEAKER_00]: Possibly.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_00]: So you always bring in the GM and have the GM decide on the head coach.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_00]: That's the way it should be.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_00]: That's the way it should be going forward.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_00]: Next question.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_00]: What would have to happen for you to be good with keeping Chris Greer and oh nothing with Chris Greer I said that set up before they won the Super Bowl.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_00]: I would be done with Chris Greer and Mike McDaniel at this point There's a lot that Mike McDaniel can do Okay, he can save he can save his job this season and What he has to do is kind of obvious right at this point with them a laser steam is in
- 18:53[SPEAKER_00]: If he gets a winning season out of this team, if he makes the playoffs, you've got to really consider keeping him, but you know what Mike McDonald does, it's his offense, right?
- 19:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I think you've got to tie keeping him to the performance of his offense, as far as the point of no return, I think Chris Greer's will beyond that point of no return.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_00]: uh... alf some point uh... some people are taking your post in the three epic channel about two are not sticking with extracurricular activities in the offseason as an indictment on his work ethic no has nothing to do with his work ethic and competitive this is that will you meant because that's never been in history now that's not what i
- 19:33[SPEAKER_00]: what I talk about is uh... extracurricular activities are just that his extracurricular activities have things that tie into your craft uh... stick with jiu-jitsu he did not start you know starting new a new hobby maybe archery bow hunting fishing
- 19:52[SPEAKER_00]: Something that has some type of benefit for your craft, golf, I think has very little benefit for his craft, very little benefit.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_00]: I guess it could help a little bit with with your brain gain, but golf can also screw with your brain gain.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm not so sure golf really really works in that regard unless you're going to take it to an extreme and take instruction and everything and there was there was some thinking that that's what he was doing at some point But we shall see, but I would have liked to have him stick with Jiu Jitsu or take up our tree bow hunting things like things of that nature
- 20:36[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I don't know, maybe Armstrong, things that help you with your craft and you're wondering, what is, you know, how do these things help you with your craft?
- 20:45[SPEAKER_00]: Helps you with your breathing, helps you with your coordination, helps with cognitive abilities.
- 20:50[SPEAKER_00]: It's better than just sit around playing golf, the entire off season, you know what I mean?
- 20:55[SPEAKER_00]: Trust me, a lot of these other guys do it as well.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_00]: Is the team really going to go with Keyon as our, as our right guard, that seems to be the plan.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_00]: uh... surprised i wouldn't attempt to put strange out there look all strange had uh... a lot of fans in this league including the newspaper took him in the first round i think he can play in this league as a backup so i don't think it's a terrible signing off of a practice squad
- 21:21[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, next question.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_00]: I was not expecting him to be out there right away.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_00]: Like a key on what I thought Brunskill.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think I brunskill as the backup center.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_00]: They don't want to mess with that is what I'm thinking.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm asking, uh, so Tua does not speak today.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_00]: He speaks every win every Wednesday.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_00]: But usually around 330, it's 217 when we're recording this.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm trying to figure out if he's going to speak now or later.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_00]: My guess is that he'll speak later.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_00]: Um, to be honest, I was expecting Austin to go on IR is that likely we just don't know they haven't done it yet, so I guess that's a good sign, but we we kind of know he's not playing on Sunday.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, next question, why does this team fail to change?
- 22:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't get it four years.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_00]: How much evidence does Mike need before he makes changes?
- 22:11[SPEAKER_00]: Is he burnout?
- 22:12[SPEAKER_00]: Is he a one-trick pony?
- 22:13[SPEAKER_00]: Is he too arrogant or oblivious to get out of his own way?
- 22:16[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe all of the above are the position coaches doing anything.
- 22:19[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, some are.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_00]: They have, they have some good coaches and some good people on this team, man.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_00]: But sometimes when that train starts going against you, it's hard to stop it.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_00]: uh... next question alf according to omar under the mimeic mcdani the projected offensive line was only started two games together last week and the them for game don't know how true it is yeah that is the truth that is the truth uh... have you tried somebody's asking me have you tried a thunder shirt for viny yes he has all that stuff
- 22:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but I didn't put it on him right now, but he just said you know what I'm kind of cool here Like this is kind of cool like he looks like he looks like a building bucks right now.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_00]: I'm looking at him through the closet next to my gunsafe He's like in a note little looking cranny.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_00]: He looks pretty comfortable with me So I guess that's working next time.
- 23:14[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just gonna have to put the thunder shirt on him But yeah, he has one.
- 23:19[SPEAKER_00]: He has all that stuff
- 23:20[SPEAKER_00]: We even bought that mood thing.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_00]: They're not a sponsor, but I don't know if that's working because he's still freaking out a couple of rain drops and he's like, fuck this, I gotta get the hell out of here.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_00]: rain monsters outside and it was just a week one and overreacting to a slight degree to the absolute flat performance at what point should we actually sound the alarm and generally worry about this team everything being blown up.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_00]: Sunday at 4 p.m.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_00]: might be a good spot.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_00]: Let's just hope that they managed to get it together for one Sunday afternoon.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_00]: All right, this is gonna be the last question.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: If we play poorly versus New England winner loose, and then get smack that buffalo does Mike McDaniel get fired.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, that week.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_00]: What's your prediction?
- 24:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think he gets fired if the team looks listless by the trade deadline.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_00]: But as long as they're on the positive side of the leisure, he won't get fired.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, this thing can go south in a hurry, but
- 24:22[SPEAKER_00]: They got an opportunity on Sunday, a versus an opportunity to remember that.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_00]: They got an opportunity on Sunday to reverse some of this stuff, and then they have a game in Buffalo, where lately they've traditionally played pretty well in Buffalo.
- 24:34[SPEAKER_00]: My problem with this game is that it's on a short week, so that's a bad thing.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_00]: Alright, we're going to call it right here.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_00]: The next time we speak to you, we'll be... Yeah tomorrow, Thursday, through IPC, we will preview Patriots Dolphins.
