  Speaker 1: by the time you figure out what life is all about,

  Speaker 1: it feels like it's time to go. It takes you

  Speaker 1: a whole long period, many decades to get your head
• 0:27
  Speaker 1: on straight. You think it's over straight and then something
• 0:31
  Speaker 1: hits you and you find out it was off center
• 0:33
  Speaker 1: and after a while you begin to line things up.

  Speaker 1: To those of you who feel like a small person
• 0:39
  Speaker 1: in a big world and you put on a big
• 0:42
  Speaker 1: air sometimes and try to act real important and tough
• 0:44
  Speaker 1: and go home and curl up in a bed like
• 0:46
  Speaker 1: a little girl or a little boy with a tear
• 0:48
  Speaker 1: in the corner of your eye. God wants to talk
• 0:51
  Speaker 1: to that little boy, little girl in you. You don't
• 0:55
  Speaker 1: have to play like you're something that you're not. God's
• 0:58
  Speaker 1: going to make you. Oh, I'm talking already. God's going
• 1:06
  Speaker 1: to shape you and make you and mold you from
• 1:09
  Speaker 1: your real self. You don't have to put on a
• 1:13
  Speaker 1: crown that's too big for your head and walk around
• 1:16
  Speaker 1: in your daddy's shoes and have a big old robe
• 1:19
  Speaker 1: on that don't fit who you pretend to be. But
• 1:21
  Speaker 1: God said if you humble yourself in due time I'm
• 1:25
  Speaker 1: going to raise you up and exalt you. And he
• 1:28
  Speaker 1: sent me this morning to tell you, you're on the
• 1:30
  Speaker 1: cusp of the kingdom. God bless you, brothers and sisters.

  Speaker 1: What a joy. What an absolute delight it is to
• 1:43
  Speaker 1: share the word of the Lord with you. And I
• 1:45
  Speaker 1: believe this is life-changing word. There's a series that I
• 1:49
  Speaker 1: want to work on with you. For those of you
• 1:51
  Speaker 1: who've been right on the edge of nearly stepping into
• 1:54
  Speaker 1: your destiny, sensing that God has something more for you.
• 1:58
  Speaker 1: The series is called The Verge, and it is my
• 2:01
  Speaker 1: assignment to push you over the edge. We're going to
• 2:06
  Speaker 1: start out with a message that I dearly love. It
• 2:08
  Speaker 1: is called The Cusp of the Kingdom. If you feel
• 2:12
  Speaker 1: close to it, don't miss it. The problem comes when
• 2:17
  Speaker 1: we imitate each other. We fail to find out our
• 2:22
  Speaker 1: uniqueness and what God has placed inside of us. Because
• 2:26
  Speaker 1: our unique giftings, talents and resources are given to us
• 2:31
  Speaker 1: specifically to play a role in life that nobody can
• 2:36
  Speaker 1: play like you play it. Nobody can beat you being you.
• 2:47
  Speaker 1: Nobody can do you. Like you do you. That's why
• 2:52
  Speaker 1: if somebody loves you. You don't have to worry about competition.
• 2:59
  Speaker 1: Your fingerprint has not been duplicated. Your voice pattern has
• 3:03
  Speaker 1: not been duplicated. You may have often been imitated. But
• 3:07
  Speaker 1: to somebody there's nothing like the real thing. When God
• 3:15
  Speaker 1: calls you. He equips you to function in a role
• 3:21
  Speaker 1: and in a capacity that nobody else could function in
• 3:24
  Speaker 1: quite like you function in it. He equips you for it.
• 3:31
  Speaker 1: But often when he calls you into that role of function,
• 3:36
  Speaker 1: there is a degree of intimidation that says, wonder, can
• 3:40
  Speaker 1: I do it? Look at the person next to you
• 3:43
  Speaker 1: for a minute. Just take a good look at them.
• 3:45
  Speaker 1: You don't even have to say nothing to them. Just
• 3:47
  Speaker 1: look at them. I just want to tell you something
• 3:49
  Speaker 1: about the person you're looking at. They're complicated. And I'm
• 4:03
  Speaker 1: not going to explain that. I'm not going to go
• 4:06
  Speaker 1: into a lot of details about that. I'm not going
• 4:09
  Speaker 1: to define it or declare it, but I guarantee you
• 4:12
  Speaker 1: that the person you just stared at, that you may
• 4:16
  Speaker 1: even think you know, there are some things about them
• 4:19
  Speaker 1: that you do not know because they are... You can
• 4:32
  Speaker 1: date till your hair changes colors. And still be learning
• 4:39
  Speaker 1: things because people are layered with issues and insecurities and
• 4:43
  Speaker 1: vulnerabilities and they are complicated. They are complicated. I mean,
• 4:49
  Speaker 1: anybody who saw Solomon dressed in his fine array and
• 4:54
  Speaker 1: moving into the office of kingship and standing on the
• 4:58
  Speaker 1: verge of taking over all that his father had left
• 5:01
  Speaker 1: to him. Anybody would have thought just to look on
• 5:04
  Speaker 1: the outside that he was fine. He was fine. strong
• 5:07
  Speaker 1: that he had it together but and I'm not saying
• 5:10
  Speaker 1: that that he didn't but there there's not there's not
• 5:13
  Speaker 1: a robust powerful person praying here they're the little boy
• 5:17
  Speaker 1: saying daddy my life is bigger than me the demand
• 5:26
  Speaker 1: seemed greater than my supply I'm honored that you've given
• 5:31
  Speaker 1: me an opportunity but do you do you know how
• 5:34
  Speaker 1: ill-suited I am To play this role, to live this life,
• 5:39
  Speaker 1: to raise this child, to be married to this man,
• 5:42
  Speaker 1: to provide for this family, to handle this situation. I mean, God,
• 5:46
  Speaker 1: do you understand that you have given a tractor trailer
• 5:51
  Speaker 1: to a toddler? Do you understand that the demands on
• 5:55
  Speaker 1: this level are greater than the supply that I have
• 5:58
  Speaker 1: with inside of myself? God, do you know that I
• 6:04
  Speaker 1: am a child? Some of the greatest men in the
• 6:08
  Speaker 1: Bible that God used in mighty ways referred to themselves
• 6:12
  Speaker 1: as children. Jeremiah said, Lord, I recognize that you call
• 6:20
  Speaker 1: me to be a prophet unto the nations, but I
• 6:25
  Speaker 1: am a child. God says to him, say not that
• 6:29
  Speaker 1: you are a child, for you should go to all
• 6:31
  Speaker 1: that I shall send you. In fact, before I formed
• 6:33
  Speaker 1: thee in the belly, I already knew you, what you're
• 6:36
  Speaker 1: trying to hide, what you're trying to pretend, what you're
• 6:38
  Speaker 1: trying to cover up. I already know all about it.
• 6:40
  Speaker 1: I already ordained you. I sanctified you. to be I
• 6:44
  Speaker 1: knew you before I sanctified you to be I knew
• 6:48
  Speaker 1: you I sanctified you to be I knew you deals
• 6:51
  Speaker 1: with the past I sanctified you to be deals with
• 6:54
  Speaker 1: the future God said I took it all into consideration
• 6:58
  Speaker 1: when I gave you the opportunity I know what you
• 7:03
  Speaker 1: got I know where you're at and you are on
• 7:10
  Speaker 1: the cusp of the kingdom Now Solomon you will remember
• 7:17
  Speaker 1: is in a very unique position. You will remember that
• 7:24
  Speaker 1: he comes through his father's love tryst with Uriah's wife Bathsheba.
• 7:34
  Speaker 1: And the Bible embarrassingly seems intent on not calling her Bathsheba.
• 7:42
  Speaker 1: They just keep calling her Uriah's wife. Uriah is dead
• 7:47
  Speaker 1: and they still call her Uriah's wife. Because David took
• 7:51
  Speaker 1: this woman. Let me break this down. For you that
• 7:58
  Speaker 1: are not biblically astute, he snatched her ravenously. Her husband
• 8:07
  Speaker 1: was a soldier serving in his army. He sent him,
• 8:11
  Speaker 1: he brought him in so that Because when he took her,
• 8:19
  Speaker 1: trying to get this into preaching language, she was with child.
• 8:25
  Speaker 1: That's how the Bible says. And she was with child
• 8:28
  Speaker 1: and he wanted it to look like that she was
• 8:31
  Speaker 1: pregnant by her husband who was working on the battlefield,
• 8:34
  Speaker 1: brought him in for the weekend. But her husband was
• 8:36
  Speaker 1: so loyal to the king, he wouldn't sleep with his
• 8:39
  Speaker 1: own wife and the plan failed. And David said, I'm
• 8:42
  Speaker 1: going to have to do something radical. So he got
• 8:45
  Speaker 1: the husband killed and took his woman. God does not
• 8:52
  Speaker 1: allow any of this to move him because you know what?
• 8:55
  Speaker 1: God is committed to one thing. He said, I've got
• 8:57
  Speaker 1: to get this seed. I've got to get this seed.

  Speaker 1: I've got to get this purpose. I've got to accomplish
• 9:03
  Speaker 1: my purpose and I can move past this and I'll
• 9:06
  Speaker 1: move past this one. And if I can't go through this,
• 9:09
  Speaker 1: I'll go through that. That baby died. Bathsheba was wounded.

  Speaker 1: The Bible said David came in and comforted her. And
• 9:20
  Speaker 1: you know how men comfort. When we really want to
• 9:37
  Speaker 1: be a blessing, you know. And out of David's comforting ministry,
• 9:52
  Speaker 1: Solomon was born. But Solomon is more than an expression
• 9:59
  Speaker 1: of David's comfort. He is an expression of God's purpose.

  Speaker 1: He is an expression of God's forgiveness. He is an
• 10:10
  Speaker 1: expression of God giving a second chance to a sinful
• 10:15
  Speaker 1: union who had made mistakes so terrible that God took
• 10:20
  Speaker 1: a life but still gave them a second chance.

  Speaker 1: I'm on the edge. I'm on the verge. I'm on
• 10:30
  Speaker 1: the cusp of the kingdom. I got to be close
• 10:34
  Speaker 1: to it. I can tell because it's gotten tougher. It's
• 10:37
  Speaker 1: gotten harder. It's gotten more difficult. Any woman in labor
• 10:41
  Speaker 1: will tell you the pains get greater when the baby
• 10:44
  Speaker 1: gets closer. I don't know who I'm talking to, but
• 10:47
  Speaker 1: the closer you get to the birthing of the baby,
• 10:50
  Speaker 1: the greater the pains come. What do you do with
• 10:57
  Speaker 1: the fire that will not go away?
• 10:59
  Speaker 2: The wait is over. God wants to use you in
• 11:01
  Speaker 2: extraordinary ways now. Great things are ahead of you. You're
• 11:05
  Speaker 2: on the verge.

  Speaker 1: You are not just going from day to day, week
• 11:07
  Speaker 1: to week, month to month, and now you're getting ready
• 11:09
  Speaker 1: to step into another year. You are standing on the cusp.
• 11:13
  Speaker 1: of an entirely new awakening. There's a burning desire down
• 11:18
  Speaker 1: inside of you that will not shut up. I got
• 11:21
  Speaker 1: the pain, but I got the passion too. I got
• 11:24
  Speaker 1: the problem, but I got the passion too. I got
• 11:27
  Speaker 1: a little chatter going on, but I still got the passion.
• 11:30
  Speaker 1: Life is going to hand you something every day. Take
• 11:33
  Speaker 1: in what you can get out of it. Let go
• 11:35
  Speaker 1: of what you can't get out of it. But don't
• 11:38
  Speaker 1: let anybody hurt you so bad that you shall.

  Speaker 2: The wait is over. It's time to make your life count.

  Speaker 1: He was an orchestrator. He was a motivator. He took

  Speaker 1: a bunch of rejected men in a cave called Adullam

  Speaker 1: and trained them to be skillful and to be warriors

  Speaker 1: and to stand up. David was powerful. If he marched,
• 12:12
  Speaker 1: he marched in a militance and a power that was
• 12:15
  Speaker 1: absolutely awesome. When he danced, he danced out of his
• 12:18
  Speaker 1: clothes until the glory of the Lord rested on his shoulder.
• 12:22
  Speaker 1: When he went to war, no army could stand against him.
• 12:25
  Speaker 1: And when he reigned, it was of his kingdom. There
• 12:29
  Speaker 1: would be no end. The problem was Solomon was not David.
• 12:45
  Speaker 1: Solomon was not David. And all the people who were
• 12:49
  Speaker 1: used to David Are now looking at Solomon. And the
• 12:52
  Speaker 1: problem comes. When people expect more. Than you think you
• 12:57
  Speaker 1: can supply. So Solomon. Offers up. A thousand rams. In
• 13:06
  Speaker 1: a high place. And God appears. In the middle of
• 13:11
  Speaker 1: the offering. And they have this conversation. And Solomon says
• 13:16
  Speaker 1: to God. I'm scared. I'm scared that this opportunity is
• 13:31
  Speaker 1: too big for me. I'm scared that the demands are
• 13:38
  Speaker 1: greater than the supply. I'm scared that I got too
• 13:44
  Speaker 1: many people pulling at me for answers. And I'm confused myself.
• 13:53
  Speaker 1: How can you ask me to lead when I long
• 13:58
  Speaker 1: to follow? How can you ask me to stand up
• 14:03
  Speaker 1: when I feel like sitting down? So I came up
• 14:07
  Speaker 1: to the high place to offer you an offering because
• 14:11
  Speaker 1: I understand that I'm on the cusp of something that
• 14:15
  Speaker 1: is bigger than me. I don't know what this is about.
• 14:18
  Speaker 1: I don't know who this is for. But somebody in
• 14:20
  Speaker 1: this church this morning Somebody in this church this morning,
• 14:25
  Speaker 1: you don't understand. You are not just going from day
• 14:28
  Speaker 1: to day, week to week, month to month, and now
• 14:29
  Speaker 1: you're getting ready to step into another year. You are
• 14:31
  Speaker 1: standing on the cusp of an entirely new awakening, a
• 14:37
  Speaker 1: new season, a new purpose. It is going to be
• 14:40
  Speaker 1: fertilized with your experiences. It's going to be validated with
• 14:44
  Speaker 1: your wisdom. It's bringing you into a place now that
• 14:48
  Speaker 1: you can finally receive on a level that you have
• 14:51
  Speaker 1: never received on before. Yes, Lord. The Lord said, before
• 14:54
  Speaker 1: you can tell them what I told you to tell them,
• 14:57
  Speaker 1: you have got to curse the spirit of apathy, indifference,
• 15:01
  Speaker 1: the lack of expectation. The people who think that the
• 15:04
  Speaker 1: good old days are gone will never receive your word.
• 15:08
  Speaker 1: They have to understand that I saved the best for last.
• 15:12
  Speaker 1: They have to understand, hallelujah, that I'm getting ready to
• 15:15
  Speaker 1: show you why you had to go through what you
• 15:18
  Speaker 1: had to go through to get what you had to get.

  Speaker 1: You have to understand that you're standing on the cusp
• 15:26
  Speaker 1: on the cusp on the very cusp on the very
• 15:28
  Speaker 1: edge and that is why the enemy attacks you so

  Speaker 1: why else would the enemy attack you in this season

  Speaker 1: of your life if you're finished why are they fighting

  Speaker 1: you if you don't have any value why are you
• 15:41
  Speaker 1: up under attack if God isn't going to use you

  Speaker 1: why are you in so much spiritual warfare Touch the

  Speaker 1: neighbor and say, you better shake yourself. You better shake yourself.

  Speaker 1: The reason the witch couldn't hex you. The reason the

  Speaker 1: test didn't destroy you. The reason the temptation didn't take

  Speaker 1: you out. If God has a purpose for your life.

  Speaker 1: reason the sickness didn't destroy you. God didn't just leave

  Speaker 1: a life that feels too big for me. This is

  Speaker 1: called stress. Stress is born When you realize your own limitations.

  Speaker 1: When you see that the demands keep coming and you're

  Speaker 1: afraid that you cannot supply what life is demanding. That's
• 18:01
  Speaker 1: how stress is born. Stress is the cause of over
• 18:04
  Speaker 1: 70% of the physical diseases that are incurred in the
• 18:08
  Speaker 1: human body. It's not coming from bacteria. It's an infection.
• 18:12
  Speaker 1: It's coming from stress and the pressure to stand up.
• 18:15
  Speaker 1: What I'm trying to tell you is that it is
• 18:17
  Speaker 1: hard to be you. So we here simply listen as
• 18:27
  Speaker 1: we come to the end of a year to a
• 18:29
  Speaker 1: man's prayer, secret whispers to God. I'm afraid that what
• 18:37
  Speaker 1: is before me is too big for who I am.

  Speaker 1: I'm afraid that what is behind me has crippled me
• 18:46
  Speaker 1: so that I cannot handle what is before me. I'm
• 18:51
  Speaker 1: afraid that I will not be enough. And so I
• 18:53
  Speaker 1: slip to you and I ask you, Lord, to give me,
• 19:00
  Speaker 1: if you're going to give me something, give me wisdom.

  Speaker 1: You can hold your money. Yeah, I'm good. I'm good.

  Speaker 1: I'm good. You don't have to give me a check.
• 19:18
  Speaker 1: You don't have to kill my haters. I've learned how
• 19:21
  Speaker 1: to deal with them. I'm not worried about that. I
• 19:25
  Speaker 1: can survive all of that. What I need from you,
• 19:28
  Speaker 1: oh God, is wisdom. I need the mindset of where
• 19:34
  Speaker 1: I'm going, but I have the mindset of where I've been.
• 19:39
  Speaker 1: And until you get rid of the mindset of where
• 19:42
  Speaker 1: you've been, you will never be able to seize where
• 19:45
  Speaker 1: you're going. I need wisdom and understanding because I'm playing
• 19:50
  Speaker 1: a new role and people are taking me serious in
• 19:53
  Speaker 1: a way that I've never been taken serious before. I
• 19:56
  Speaker 1: can kind of, we call it shucking job. I can
• 19:59
  Speaker 1: kind of play around. And fool around. But I've entered
• 20:01
  Speaker 1: into a stage of life. Where it's show and tell.
• 20:04
  Speaker 1: And now I got to pray Lord. Because without you.
• 20:08
  Speaker 1: I can do nothing. Without you. I can't stand the storm.

  Speaker 1: Without you. I can't raise this child. Without you. I
• 20:16
  Speaker 1: can't get through this period. Oh but do you hear
• 20:24
  Speaker 1: what I'm saying to you. He says God. I cannot.

  Speaker 1: Move into the kingdom without wisdom and understanding. Wisdom, wisdom, wisdom.

  Speaker 1: Give me wisdom. Give me wisdom. Give me what to
• 20:40
  Speaker 1: do and when to do it. Who to trust and
• 20:42
  Speaker 1: who not to trust. Give me the wisdom when to
• 20:45
  Speaker 1: speak and when to hold my peace. Give me the
• 20:48
  Speaker 1: understanding of where I am. He says, Lord, I don't
• 20:50
  Speaker 1: know how to go in and out. I don't know
• 20:53
  Speaker 1: the protocol of the world I'm in. I don't know
• 20:56
  Speaker 1: how to navigate in the world I'm in. I don't
• 20:59
  Speaker 1: know how to stand in the world I'm in. And
• 21:02
  Speaker 1: before my foolishness destroys me, I want you to get
• 21:07
  Speaker 1: this new mind ready. In this old head so I
• 21:10
  Speaker 1: can move in a fresh direction. I'm trying to tell you,
• 21:15
  Speaker 1: I don't care what your calendar says. You cannot have
• 21:22
  Speaker 1: a new year if you got an old mind. Now
• 21:28
  Speaker 1: you can blow whistles. You can go out and celebrate.
• 21:33
  Speaker 1: You can do whatever you want to do. But you
• 21:35
  Speaker 1: will never have a new year as long as you
• 21:39
  Speaker 1: walk in an old mind. So somebody this morning as
• 21:44
  Speaker 1: we stand on the verge of 2013. says I'm not
• 21:47
  Speaker 1: going to take a 2012 mind into a 2013 year
• 21:52
  Speaker 1: I'm going to forget those things which are behind me
• 21:56
  Speaker 1: and reach to those things which are before me somebody
• 22:00
  Speaker 1: take 30 seconds and give God a crazy preach praise
• 22:07
  Speaker 1: him praise him Praise him like you're going somewhere. Praise
• 22:23
  Speaker 1: him like you got something to live for. Praise him
• 22:29
  Speaker 1: like you got a future and a destiny. Praise him.
• 22:34
  Speaker 1: Until shackles fall off of you. Praise him till you
• 22:38
  Speaker 1: stop feeling sorry for yourself. Praise him till you get
• 22:43
  Speaker 1: a spirit of expectation. Somebody help me pray them in

  Speaker 1: this church right now. I'm ready to step into my purpose.

  Speaker 1: I'm ready to assume my position. I'm ready to be

  Speaker 1: the head, not the tail, above, not beneath. I'm ready

  Speaker 1: to clap my hands and rejoice in my God. Stay
