• 0:00
Do you believe the price of silver and gold could skyrocket?
• 0:04
I'm talking 5X10X15X, maybe even more from where we are right
• 0:10
now. In this video, we're going to
• 0:12
talk about why right now is just like the 1970s, but more
• 0:17
importantly, we're going to look at what happened in the 70s and
• 0:21
even more importantly, why the conditions that created these
• 0:26
unbelievable returns for silver and gold in the 1970s.
• 0:30
Those same conditions are in place right now in the argument
• 0:34
can be made that they're even more exaggerated.
• 0:38
We might see even greater returns for the precious metals.
• 0:41
But thank you for joining me here in the basement.
• 0:44
I know you love to hear about gold and silver.
• 0:46
We're basement dwellers. We love to talk about precious
• 0:49
metals. We even have crypto people who
• 0:51
are wanting to learn about silver and gold.
• 0:54
Everyone is welcome here. Please subscribe to the channel,
• 0:58
give the video a thumbs up and share it with anyone you like,
• 1:01
including your grandparents or even your grandchildren.
• 1:04
But let's talk about first what happened in the 1970s.
• 1:08
It's incredible. We forget what happened to the
• 1:11
price of silver and gold in the 1970s.
• 1:15
And I have a document prepared for you that I want to share
• 1:19
here that will just drive home Silver 27 X.
• 1:25
The period from 1970 through 1980 saw one of the most
• 1:29
dramatic and rapid price increases in silver history.
• 1:33
OK Silver price started the early 1970s at around $1.30 to
• 1:39
$1.80 per oz. The Incredible surge to the peak
• 1:44
The price of silver began to rise significantly in the late
• 1:47
1970s, culminating in an extraordinary surge.
• 1:51
By January of 1980, silver reached its all time nominal
• 1:55
high, with some sources reporting a peak of around $50
• 2:00
per oz. Guys, silver went from about
• 2:03
$1.50 per oz all the way to $50 per oz.
• 2:09
Some people saying as much as 27X now, 2700% or 27 X now.
• 2:16
Gold went up by 20X during that period.
• 2:20
Gold started the 70s and an unofficial rate of around 35 to
• 2:25
$40 per oz and surged to an astonishing $850 per oz by early
• 2:32
  1980. Easily a 20X.
• 2:35
These are absolute shocking numbers to think about for both
• 2:39
silver and gold. If we think about now, even just
• 2:43
a 10X, look, silver went up 27X, gold went up right?
• 2:47
Almost 20X. If we put a 10 times multiple on
• 2:51
the current silver price, we're talking $350.00 per oz.
• 2:55
A 20 times multiple would be $700.00 per oz gold.
• 3:00
What if gold went up 10X? Right, Less than what it did in
• 3:04
the 1970s. We'd have gold at what, 33
• 3:07
thousand, $32,000 per oz? And that's all good and well for
• 3:12
us to sit around and dream about that.
• 3:15
But what conditions do we have in place?
• 3:18
What caused that, and how does that relate to where we are
• 3:21
  right now? It's stagflation.
• 3:23
Stagflation, the S word. We've been banging the table
• 3:26
here in the basement about it for years.
• 3:28
You know, I know stagflation is a stagnant economy with
• 3:34
inflation. What did we just hear last week,
• 3:37
right, the PCE numbers Inflation is going up, inflation is not do
• 3:42
you really think that inflation is going to go away?
• 3:46
No, inflation will continue and continue Inflation is the same
• 3:50
thing as devaluation of the dollar.
• 3:53
And we are going to spend. We're going to waste your
• 3:55
valuable time talking about why the dollar is inevitably going
• 3:59
to go down in real value, and that will create inflation.
• 4:03
When the price at the store goes up for milk, eggs, whatever,
• 4:08
whatever floats your boat, you like to buy at the store.
• 4:11
When the price goes up, that means the value of the dollar is
• 4:14
  going down. That's inevitable.
• 4:16
But what about the economy? We're getting warning signals
• 4:19
everywhere in the economy. I think one that nobody's really
• 4:22
paying attention to is the fact that new college grads aren't
• 4:27
getting jobs right now. OK, We know how difficult it is
• 4:31
out there in the economy. So what drove, what drove those
• 4:36
crazy price increases? Stagflation during the 1970s.
• 4:40
Those conditions are in place right now.
• 4:42
As a matter of fact, I want to read this to you, Federal
• 4:45
Reserve Bank of New York President John Williams.
• 4:49
Old John said he expects slower growth.
• 4:54
That would be the stag and higher inflation this year.
• 4:58
That would be the flation that is stagflation.
• 5:01
Now, what makes it even more insane, even crazier right now
• 5:07
guys, is that the situation, the debt situation in this country
• 5:11
is multiple, multiple times worse now than it was in the
• 5:16
1970s. And we know that foreign
• 5:19
countries aren't wanting to buy our debt.
• 5:21
So when we look at what happened to the price of silver and gold
• 5:25
in the 1970s, unbelievable returns, we'll say minimum 10X.
• 5:30
And we compare the conditions now to the conditions back then.
• 5:35
We're not crazy to think that we can get a 10X in the price of
• 5:39
  silver and gold. I understand.
• 5:41
  It feels like fantasy fantasyland.
• 5:45
I completely get it. But the reality is that is
• 5:49
  within the realm of possibilities.
• 5:51
Now, look, I'm just telling you what I see when I look out
• 5:55
there. I'm not a financial advisor.
• 5:57
Don't make any financial decisions based on anything that
• 6:00
I say. But while we're at it, if you do
• 6:03
decide that you want to get your hands on some silver, please
• 6:06
support our channel sponsor first met.
• 6:08
They make the gold and silver Ron's basement content possible.
• 6:12
As a matter of fact, I pulled this out.
• 6:15
This is one of Susie's favorite. You know, upstairs Susie right,
• 6:18
talks to us on the walkie-talkie.
• 6:20
She's not here right now, but this is a 5 oz bar that I got
• 6:25
from First Mint and it is absolutely beautiful.
• 6:29
It's like the perfect size. And if you can look here, it's
• 6:33
it's quite a bit thicker than most of the other 5 oz bars out
• 6:37
there. I absolutely love this thing.
• 6:39
First Mint is owned by First Majestic Silver.
• 6:42
You probably have heard the name Keith Neumeyer.
• 6:44
That's Keith Neumeyer's silver mining company.
• 6:47
They mine the silver in Mexico, ship it to Nevada right where it
• 6:52
gets transformed at their first mint facilities into world class
• 6:56
bullion products, and then it goes straight to you.
• 6:59
There's no COMEX, no LBMA involved in the process.
• 7:03
It's fresh silver from the mint to the mine to you, minted in
• 7:08
the USA. You can check them out at first
• 7:10
mint.com here. We'll run out there quickly.
• 7:13
I'll show you their website. There we go first mint.com.
• 7:21
Here's some of their different product products, Year of the
• 7:23
dragon. These are all unique to them.
• 7:26
Absolutely beautiful. There's the bars, 5 oz, 10 oz
• 7:30
and 1K. This is one of my favorites that
• 7:33
Indian Head Buffalo round, absolutely beautiful and then
• 7:37
the year of the snake. They also have a special
• 7:41
discount code for you, for us basement dwellers, VIP BRB.
• 7:47
They got great service, great selection, and it's a company
• 7:50
you can trust. So the situation that the
• 7:53
overall environment for silver and gold right now, I think
• 7:58
they'll say we're crazy to think that we could have silver and
• 8:01
gold go up 5X10X20X. But I'm telling you, the
• 8:05
conditions are in place and when we look at, we're going to look
• 8:09
at this a little bit later, Silver in particular right now
• 8:14
when we look at the chart on a weekly, monthly and quarterly
• 8:17
basis, remember Monday, June 30th, this Monday is the end of
• 8:22
the quarter. It, it looks very, very
• 8:25
interesting as we move into just the end of the year.
• 8:28
And don't forget, I made a prediction of $60.00 silver by
• 8:32
  April Fool's Day, April 1st, 2026.
• 8:36
I'll pay a heavy price if we don't hit it.
• 8:38
You guys can come up with a punishment for me.
• 8:40
I'll let you use your creativity, send an e-mail, let
• 8:44
me know what you want me to do if I'm wrong.
• 8:46
But I think I'm going to be right now.
• 8:48
Let's move on here. Let's talk about the dollar.
• 8:51
We have more proof from the dollar that we're reliving the
• 8:55
70's, the DXY index. This came from Dave Earthly.
• 8:58
This is very important. The move this week in the
• 9:01
world's reserve currency, the dollar, left the greenback down
• 9:05
more than 10% for the year. If the dollar index stays below
• 9:09
98 by the end of Q2, which is this Monday, right, June 30th,
• 9:15
it will be the biggest fall in the first half of the year since
• 9:20
the start of the era of free floating currencies in the early
• 9:25
1970s. Are you seeing all the
• 9:28
similarities next, right? We want to see the similarities
• 9:31
with 5X10X gold and silver price.
• 9:34
But let's go look at the DXY index because this is becoming
• 9:38
very interesting and I want to point something out to you,
• 9:41
which is good news for US silver and gold investors.
• 9:45
If we look at this chart, OK, and look at the last time that
• 9:49
the dollar fell significantly, This was from 2001 to 2011.
• 9:54
We started out up here with the DXY index around 1:25 and drop
• 9:59
down to 75 during that period, during that 1011 year period.
• 10:04
Let me look at my data here. We had the silver price, for
• 10:09
instance, go from around $4.00 per oz right here in O1 all the
• 10:16
way to $50 per oz, easily a 10X increase.
• 10:20
So the the similarities are eerie.
• 10:23
Everywhere we look, we're getting data that's showing us
• 10:26
  that we're heading to stagflation.
• 10:28
We know what happened the last time that the United States went
• 10:32
through a stagflationary period. We had incredible results in
• 10:36
both the gold and the silver markets.
• 10:38
I do want to say thank you to Channels First Mining gold,
• 10:42
talking about gold, they're a Canadian gold development stage
• 10:46
company with massive amounts of gold in the ground in Canada.
• 10:51
OK, they have the Du Parquet project, which is in Quebec and
• 10:54
they have the spring pole project in Ontario and they have
• 10:57
  another project, the Cameron project.
• 11:00
All of these projects combined, you're talking millions of Oz of
• 11:03
gold in the ground in Canada. They're a development stage
• 11:07
company, so they're working through the permitting process.
• 11:10
But the the gold has, it's been established that the gold is
• 11:13
there. The gold is in the ground.
• 11:15
It's like being able to buy gold in the world.
• 11:18
Safest vault stored safe in the ground in Canada.
• 11:22
You can learn more about them at firstmininggold.com.
• 11:25
And why do we want to pay attention to gold, Gold and
• 11:28
  silver. The world is changing.
• 11:30
We know China is taking over, but this is shocking to take a
• 11:34
look at this chart that shows what China is doing for gold.
• 11:38
This comes from the Silver Academy and to me this chart
• 11:42
really says it all and I need to share the correct page for you
• 11:47
  guys. I apologize.
• 11:48
  There we go. OK.
• 11:51
If we look at this, what this chart shows us is the Chinese
• 11:57
U.S. Treasury Holdings, OK, which is
• 12:00
the white line starting back here in 2012.
• 12:04
Let me get my markers out for you.
• 12:07
You can see that circle. So the white line up here is
• 12:11
Treasury holdings, The gold line is their gold holdings.
• 12:15
And as you can see, as we move through to 2020, five, 2026,
• 12:21
although we're not there yet, we have seen a massive upswing in
• 12:25
Chinese gold holdings while the Chinese have been dumping their
• 12:29
treasuries. Let me get all those lines out
• 12:31
there so you can see it. What this tells us in no
• 12:34
uncertain terms is the Chinese are trading their paper and
• 12:39
they're trading it for real metal.
• 12:42
OK, let's go back to Silver quickly here.
• 12:48
And here we go again. This came from our friends over
• 12:57
at the Silver Academy talking about the legends and the whales
• 13:01
who are circling Eric Sprott. OK, Made a podcast appearance
• 13:06
recently declaring that silver is heading for $70 or more, and
• 13:11
he says that's just a start. Mike Maloney, typically a gold
• 13:15
analyst, is now all in on silver, predicting A tenfold.
• 13:19
Like, we just talked about surge to $300 per oz, and then we're
• 13:24
going to talk about the billionaire.
• 13:27
David Bateman, tech founder recently bought almost 13
• 13:32
million Troy ounces of physical silver, nearly 1.5% of global
• 13:37
annual supply, directly from the COMEX standing for delivery and
• 13:42
withdrawal. This is not a trade, it's a
• 13:44
statement. And then he went on to put out a
• 13:46
whole series of tweets talking about why he believes that that
• 13:53
silver is an excellent value right now.
• 13:55
Now, let's talk about what's going on right now in the silver
• 13:59
market. We are at a battle for $35 per
• 14:02
oz. We've talked about that guy's ad
• 14:04
nauseam. Monday is the end of the
• 14:06
quarter. Let's take a look at at what
• 14:09
people are saying about the weekly, monthly and quarterly
• 14:13
situation in the silver market right now.
• 14:16
  And let's start here. Boom.
• 14:22
OK, you know what, let's start talking about the silver, about
• 14:28
the weekly because what's interesting is that if we close
• 14:32
on Monday about $35 per oz in the silver market, that will be
• 14:38
a big confirmation. And that will be that would be
• 14:42
the highest close in the silver market on a weekly basis, OK,
• 14:48
since August of 2011. And again, we just need to be a
• 14:52
little bit above $35. Now this one is another look at
• 14:56
the weekly chart from our friend silver stocks.
• 15:00
Great. Let me make sure we got you on
• 15:02
the right screen, which we do not.
• 15:04
Hold on here. We're all over the place.
• 15:07
Sorry guys, here we go OK, silver is held up well on a
• 15:12
weekly chart. It certainly doesn't look as bad
• 15:15
as it might seem. So Friday was a down day in the
• 15:17
silver. But when you look at a weekly
• 15:19
chart, which is represented by each one of those candles,
• 15:23
things are looking pretty darn good in the silver market and it
• 15:27
  gets even more encouraging. OK.
• 15:30
We can't look at this at this one enough because if it doesn't
• 15:33
happen right now, it's going to happen real soon, which is a
• 15:36
breakout of the cup and handle pattern.
• 15:39
This, this is from Tavi Costa. And guys, again, this is the
• 15:44
quarterly candle, but look at this cup, right, going all the
• 15:49
way back to 1980, right and handle.
• 15:54
But $37 when it comes to the quarterly clothes is the big key
• 16:00
there. And when this breaks out, it is
• 16:03
going to break out with fireworks like we have never
• 16:07
seen before. Things have not looked better
• 16:10
for precious metals, both gold and silver.
• 16:13
I appreciate you joining me here in the basement.
• 16:15
It's a big deal. You really are the most
• 16:18
important part. Without you being here, there
• 16:20
would be no Ron's basement. And I know we love to get
• 16:23
together and talk about gold and silver.
• 16:26
I also want to say thank you to channel sponsor Ledger.
• 16:29
They're the cryptocurrency hardware wallet security leader,
• 16:33
and also our friends at Moon Pay.
• 16:35
They're the fintech leader, growing and innovating like
• 16:39
crazy. You can check both those
• 16:40
companies out as well. But #1 again, thank you for
• 16:44
joining me here in the basement. You be well and I'll see you,
• 16:48
  yes.
