- Amanda: What is up, guys? Welcome back to another episode of Let's Talk Football Married Edition. It is Monday, September 14th, and week one, it's officially in the books. Good, Bad, The Ugly. It is written in stone now, and we have a whole shit ton to talk about. But before we dive in, obviously I am your host, Amanda, with my other lovely host here, Drew. before we get into anything, tell me your week one reaction in just one singular word. Drew: exciting. Exciting, yes. Football's back, baby. I'm so excited. We find Amanda: Exciting. Exciting. Interesting. I know. A good Sunday rot day where we just do nothing and and sit on our asses and watch football all day. It's it's epic. Drew: it was fantastic. And I after the Wednesday and Thursday games last week, I was a little apprehensive. I was like, not a lot of offense. Wasn't super exciting. We had one one Amanda: Boring. Drew: yeah, one one out of four teams was exciting to watch, and that was the 49ers, and the other three teams kind of sucked. And then I was like, this this is gonna be a bad week one. And then the Brock Bowers news hit, and you're like, no, what's gonna happen? AJ Brown already went down and Sam Darnold already got hurt, and we're like, is this just gonna be a nightmare start to the season? But it it turned out to be a really fun Sunday. Lotta there's Amanda: It was. Drew: a lot of scoring. Amanda: Good game. A lot of score. I'm a lot we looked at when we watched Red Zone often and all the scores were up and I was like, Holy shit, like there's a lot of high scoring games, a lot of offense, which made it fun, because that Wednesday game, we're sitting there, we're all geeked out, we're excited. I looked over at Drew and I'm like, Drew: Mm-hmm. Amanda: he's like, quite a boring game. I was like, Yeah, this sucks. This is really on like a weekday night when you're already fucking a little tired at that time of the night 'cause we're East Coast and you're like, shit, this sucks. Drew: Turned out to be pretty good though. But Amanda: Yeah. Drew: you know, some of his biggest reactions of the week, like Brock Bowers, what in the hell are the Raiders doing? Waiting that long? Amanda: It's just like that long, it just like feels so annoying. Obviously from a fanny th there was players that owe nothing to us, that the teams owe nothing to Drew: No Amanda: the fantasy football players, but you're like, there was no rumblings of this. Like, even for the best interest of the player and the team, why did we wait so long to take care of this? Drew: I I don't understand it. Like there was a little bit about him having some, you know, discomfort in training and practice, but like again, this is what happens when you don't play your fucking players in preseason. You don't know what's going on, they don't get enough work, and then all of a sudden, boom. Hey everybody, by the way, you know, our best player's not gonna play week one, so screw all you guys, right? I mean between that and the Amanda: You know what? Drew: rest of the tight ends just shit in the bed all week, like all those d Colston Lovelin, hey, here's a goose egg to start the season. C pity Amanda: That was a an I know some of you felt like you're saying from Loveland too. You're like, fuck, I don't love you. Drew: my g a pity city. Hey, how have a goose egg. How's this taste? Does it delicious? Yeah. Amanda: Pity Pitts, you what? I admit it hates me 'cause I fucking hate Kyle Pitts as it is. And for him to come out and go Pity Pitts all over the week one, I'm like, you know what? Sorry, not sorry. I hate him from the get. Drew: That's why yep, I didn't suggest them to any, but again, those mid round tight ends, Pit Pity City, or and then you also had Fannon decide to almost goose and everybody that Fannon's great last year. No, but there's a reason you didn't draft Fannon. Amanda: You know what, we can't blame Fannin. We can't blame Fannon. I blame one man. Drew: It's Deshaun Watson and that stupid, terrible, awful Browns team that just my god. Amanda: At what point were they just going to sit his ass down? I know we talked about it, but to be Shador Sanders on the sidelines, like you picked this motherfucker. Like he has shit the bed in Drew: Over yeah. Amanda: every account. Interceptions, fumbles, incomplete passes. He looked incompetent the entire game. And dude's just on the sideline, like, yeah, you're right. I wouldn't be better. Like at this point, it just looks like Tank City. Tank City. Drew: I mean if he didn't look I don't know I think it was a stupid decision to play Watson over Sanders and I don't think Sanders is that good of a quarterback, but like what does it say about Sanders to lose that job in the in the camp? Amanda: I don't know. I don't know. I know. I'm like, what happened that we aren't seeing? Or do they just want to tank? And they're like, Yeah, Deshaun Watson is so shitty. We're just gonna throw him in and it's gonna be better than at least Sanders taking some shots and actually being relevant and us winning us some games. Who the fuck knows? I don't know what they're doing, but how Drew: Yeah, it's wild. Amanda: about Dr Babyface Drake May? baby face Drake May. Drew: What the hell was he doing on that last play? Amanda: You know, I saw I think I saw his post game press conference and he like, you know, took accountability. Like, that was stupid. I I wasn't thinking. Drew: No shit. Amanda: Mind out of the game. I need to get my head locked back in. And like you love to see someone take ownership, obviously, and not pass the buck and and do some weird shit. But like, what the fuck are we doing? Like, Drew: That was terrible. Amanda: so bad and just such a disappointing way to see that go down where like that was the one thing he could not do and he did it. And like as a quarterback, you know that is the one thing I can't let happen on this play. Fuck, you could take the sack. Take the fucking sack. It's better than you turning the ball over and then making the game completely emoints over at that point, right? Drew: Yeah, absolutely terrible decision on his part and it wasn't his first one. Three picks. Like a he he just it was wild. He went from looking Amanda: Yeah. For me once, fool me twice. Yeah. Drew: good in the first half to just what the hell did we see? And I look they weren't all his fault, but you know, we'll get into a little bit more of that situation later. But I just it was not a good game at all. Amanda: Absolutely. Well, we asked some of you guys what your reactions for the week were because I love some raw, unfiltered reactions. So we posted this on our Patreon. I asked the social media audience too. But funniest reaction of the week is Rachel from the Patreon. Girl, we both like fucking laughed out loud when we read this. Her reaction from the week is DK couldn't catch malaria in Panama. Drew: I laughed so hard when I read that. Amanda: It was yes. I I mean the DK was just fucking i yeah. Drew: I I don't know what the hell was going on, but he couldn't catch literally anything. Him and Jameson Williams I'm screaming at the television, catch the fucking Amanda: You know my gosh Drew: football. Amanda: Reive soft hands, catch the football, but Drew: my goodness. Amanda: it was the the bugaboo of both of theirs was they just could not get their shit together. Drew: It was awful. It was awful. But congratulations, Rachel. That was hilarious and had us both rolling on the floor laughing. As the as the kids say. Amanda: Hilarious. All right, today we're as the kids say, right? today we're gonna go over a couple different things. Obviously, this is our first reaction episode. So we're gonna go over our top performances of the week. We're gonna talk disappointments of the week, obviously. We're also gonna go through a new segment called Fact or Fiction. We'll get into it, but we're gonna talk about is this something factual or fiction? And you should trust the plot here for the remainder of the season. It is only week one, my friends. Like, I know we're all a little nervous, but like it's your reminder. It it's only been. One singular week. Don't be hyperbolic, okay? And then we'll end with some budding romance and divorce paper segment, injury reports. Obviously, we'll get into that. And then we'll segment a little bit of early waiver wire talk. But like we already have talked about in depth already, we'll do our full waiver wire over in the Patreon. So if you're not already a Patreon member, we have some fun over there. You can become part of the wedding party in the show notes below. But let's go ahead and get into the top performances of the week, baby. Drew: Absolutely. All right. Let's start with the quarterback position. So with the quarterback per with the quarterback position, top performers of the week is anybody that scores twenty or more fantasy points in standard scoring leagues. Obviously, everybody's gonna have different scoring. So when we talk about scoring, it's just all gonna be standard half PPR scoring, none of these weird bonuses for anything. Your league can do that, but you know, we're just gonna talk the averages here. So so the top quarterbacks of the week, Caleb Williams. Just absolutely bawling out thirty-seven plus points. I mean, he just played absolutely incredible. Every time we looked up at the television, it was the Bears or the Panthers were scoring a touchdown. That game was wild. Amanda: It was. It was a good game. obviously we know we have our Mr. Josh Allen himself, that elite onesie position you spent a whole ton of draft capital on. He really came out and said, I got you back. One of the Instagram comments for reactions of the week was Josh Allen for president. and I concur because that was epic. He did so well. He handled that offense beautifully against a tough ass defense. That was a good Drew: That game was also really good as well. all right, the Amanda: game. Drew: yeah, the other half of the Bears Panthers game, Bryce Young, thirty plus points, very good. Amanda: Sneaky surprise. Drew: yep, yep. then we get down Jackson Dart, Trevor Lawrence, Tyler Shuck, Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts, Brock Purdy, and Jordan Love, all in the twenty plus point range. So those are all your quarterbacks of the week. anybody in that list kind of catching your eyes there, Amanda? Amanda: You know, no one catching my I mean, there's a few people, obviously I I see my my boy T Law, which just felt that off Drew: Mm-hmm. Amanda: he le that offense looked so good. So good. The past game was just on point. Trevor Lawrence looked great. I was so excited to see it. Cause you know, you make a call and you pick and you put firm on a guy and then you're like, God, is it actually gonna work out? I think the only person that oddly enough surprises me, honestly, I see a little potential here, but we know Jordan Love, you know, after Matt LaFleur decided to not take those three points for that. that field goal in that Packers game. It basically was like them falling off the side of a cliff after that. It was Sack City. Drew: It was the Vikings after that. Amanda: It was just, it was bad. And I think, you know, Jordan Love still put up 20.5 fantasy points. So like it wasn't terrible. And if he could if they could have kept their shit together later in that game, interesting. An interesting offense that like I didn't hate until that happened, obviously. because then there was just nothing going on after that. But nonetheless, that that was the one name that kind of stuck out Drew: I I think the Amanda: 'cause Drew: Yeah, I think the big thing with Jordan Love for me was, you know, I and I mentioned it in in some preseason previous podcasts was Amanda: Mm-hmm. Drew: I I don't think they're gonna be able to run the ball as well as they have. They d Josh Jacobs isn't there Amanda: And you're right. Drew: and l like they didn't look good running the football. Now part of that is Minnesota's defense is good. Their their rush defense is very good, but like I I don't think that either Brooks or Lloyd looked like their capable starting NFL. Running backs, I think they're gonna have to throw the ball more and and their defense is clearly not that good since they gave up three touchdowns to Carson Wentz. I I Amanda: Mm-hmm. Drew: without Micah Parsons, that defense is just average at best. So for a while, they're gonna have to throw the football and put some points up. So that's one I liked. And then of course my boy Tyler Shuck out there throwing dimes, just look like a completely different quarterback in the second half. Amanda: but hold on. What did the beginning of that game what did you say about Tyler Shuck himself before we changed our tune after halftime? Yes, and we were both like shit. Drew: Looks like he might be a bust. He looked awful. Amanda: And we were high on like, let's go Shuck, prove g prove that this wasn't just a fucking fluke. Drew: He looked bad in the beginning the game. It was a whole different quarterback in the second half. Now, part of it was like Amanda: my gosh. Drew: the entire game, he was getting ransacked in the backfield. He had Amanda: Yes. Drew: no time to throw the football. They settled in nicely. And the way he bounced back, I'm f I mean, I'm fully on board. I was on board before. I was a real worried in the beginning of that game, but I the he handled pressure and the way he came back, but that Lions defense is a good defense. It's a very good defense. Amanda: Good defense. His ability to have that like very, you know, goldfish mentality of like, Yes, I just made a gigantic mistake. No big deal. Let me come right back at it was impressive to say the least. All right. Drew: All right, let's get down into our running back position. any running back top performance, that's gonna be fifteen points or more on the week. Again, half PPR scoring. we've got the king himself, future first ballot Hall of Famer, Derek Henry, thirty-five points. What an absolute monster. Twenty four carries Amanda: Monster. Drew: at what thirty two years old is just Amanda: Yes. Drew: incredible for him to still have. that much workload in a single game. I I if that's the norm for them moving forward with the new coaching staff, that could be a a a league winning pick in the second round that most people got him. Amanda: King Henry, baby. Absolutely. Drew: DeAndre Swift come in at number two, almost thirty two points a game. I know you love that, Amanda. Amanda: Ya Drew: your boy Jameer Gibbs, thirty one point one points Ashton Genty had a hell of a week at almost 30 points. David Montgomery, looking like he turned back the clock five years, just absolutely crushing Amanda: He look good. Drew: it. Bajon Robinson, who every time the Falcons were on the television, it was Bijan Robinson this, B. John Robinson that. And we'll get into that situation in a little bit later. Jonathan Taylor, Chuba Hubbard, Javante Williams all went north of 20 points. And then you've got Monungay. Brees Hall, Bucky Irving, and Chase Brown in the sixteen to nineteen points rounding out our top performances at the running back position. Amanda: Absolutely. I said, DeAndre Swift, I apologize for calling you a vegetable because in my opinion, now you're straight up flame, but babe. You crushed that game. I mean, that was his running, he his routes, everything about it was just it absolutely outstanding. He broke amazing, Drew: He looks smooth. Amanda: yes, he broke tackles, he cut like it was just fun to watch him play and see how elite he really is. Same thing with Montgomery. Obviously, we watched him behind Gibbs for so long. Drew: Mm-hmm. Amanda: And we really got to see him shine and like guys got the juice. And he looked good. those were some fun guys. You know who actually I was surprised fell so low? Was Chase Brown. Cause I feel like every time I looked up watching the Bengals game, all I heard was Chase Brown, Chase Brown, Chase Brown. And like only sixteen point three points was Drew: Yeah, he had well he had he had twenty one touches, so sixteen Amanda: Yeah. Drew: rushes and five receptions. Like twenty one touches is is a lot of touches. So Amanda: Yeah. Drew: I mean you look at like Chuba had thirteen, Javante only had s seventeen. So like he touched the ball top five well, top ten out of everybody. It just it wasn't really efficient. Tw fifty six yards on the ground and twenty two through the air. But still that's a that's a that's a good week. And in PPR formats with those five receptions, that's even more valuable, obviously. Amanda: Yeah, more than anything too, how much he was used and we know all that's behind him is P. Ryan and they're gonna keep it. It's gonna be the Chase Brown show. P P P P P. Ryan, that's what I call him. Drew: Did you say P Ryan like it was two words? Samaje Pirine? Amanda: I call him P Pee P Ryan, 'cause anytime he would steal touches from my running back when I had someone from cause he was the backup for who was before Chase Brown running back room. Drew: Well it's Pirine's been with the Bengals and then Yeah. Joe Mixon. He used to snipe it from Joe Mixon, yeah. But mm-hmm. Amanda: Yeah, I know, forever. Cause he used to snipe from me and I used to yell at PPP Ryan. Joe Mixon, he used to sni snipe and I call him PPP Ryan because I was like, I hate I hated him. Cause anytime I was like geeked out, I was like, that was fucking P Ryan. Nonetheless. All right, we're gonna move on to our wide receivers, top performers. This is wide receivers who scored fifteen points or greater on the week in week number one. We've got some familiar names and some maybe not so familiar names. So at the top of the list, which I asked Ru earlier today, I said, D who who do you think is the wide receiver one? And he's like, I don't know. Didn't you say JJ? Drew: No, no, no. I I knew it wasn't JJ, I Jalen Coker. Amanda: you Yeah, yeah, you threw out a name. It was Jalen Coker. Jalen Coker with twenty nine point eight fantasy points. We'll we'll get into that a little bit more here later, but next up Drew: Fu hey, fun fact about Jalen Coker. Amanda: Yes. Drew: He went to college at Holy Cross. That's where s that's where our butt no, that's where our buddy Sam went. Yeah, that's where Sam played football. Yeah. Yeah. Fun fact there. Mm-hmm. Amanda: Is that where you went? that's where Sam went. that's cool. Look at that. Awesome. All right. Fun fact. All right. Next up we have Christian Watson with 29.7 fantasy points. Justin Jefferson topping out of 27.2. Amon Ross. God. I know. Drew: Thank God for Justin Jefferson. Amanda: Tell me, did your like heart sink to your butthole when immediately Kyler Murray goes down and the you know, ghost of Carson Wentz has to come in? Drew: Not immediately because like Carson Wentz ha can provide fantasy to receivers. He was just like ridiculously hurt last year to where he couldn't really Amanda: That's true. Drew: throw the football. after the first series or two where Carson Wentz got sacked six times, that's when I got a little bit worried, that Amanda: That was like elder abuse. I was like, Drew: Yeah. Amanda: this poor old man is getting his I gave him like two weeks before if the he ke has to keep getting hit like that, he's not gonna last. He's old. Like Carson Drew: Yeah, yeah. Amanda: Wentz has been around for a minute. Like Drew: But that's huge to see week one, a guy that everybody Amanda: Yes, for J J. Drew: was worried about that like let's be honest, if last year didn't happen, Justin Jefferson would be drafted in the middle of the first round at the latest. I got him with the last pick of the first round this year and in the second round, the beginning of the second round this year in two different drafts. That would have never happened if last year wasn't such a catastrophe. I'm so happy that that he had a good week one. Amanda: Absolutely. After Justin Jefferson, we have none other than Amon Ra, Saint Brown, Zay Flowers, Chris Olave, JSN, DJ Moore, Nico Collins, my boy Parker Washington, Little Lad McConkey, Devon Vale, and Debo Samuels. So, like I said, there's some there's some names you expect to see. You expect to see JSN, you expect to see Amon Ra, you expect to see Olave, even Flowers, right? But there's some. some sneaky names on here that it we didn't expect to see the list. Coker being one of them, obviously Vele. That's we'll we'll talk a little bit more about him, but that was a name that I know I did not expect to make the wide receiver list after week one and here we are. Drew: Yeah, he played great. He I mean he looked amazing on the field. He was incredibly involved in the offense. I I would imagine that he's probably the top pickup this week in all of waivers. I know he's our top pickup for sure. Yeah, it Amanda: His diving catches, I was like, holy shit. Tell me, top well, we can dig dig into it when we get into waiver wires. I'll I'll hold I'll hold my thought. I'll hold my thought. Drew: Yeah. the the biggest ones I look at, obviously you've got guys that should be here. Christian Watson, that's just confirming our priors that he is a dude when he's healthy. So we've said all off season that when healthy, Christian Watson's gonna be really good. It's all if he can stay healthy. So he looked the part, obviously J J and Amon Raw. Say Flowers showed you that last year at wide receiver seven was not a fluke. unfortunately he got hurt, so you know, we'll talk about that a little bit later in the injury segment. You know, DJ Moore in his first game with the Bills was very involved, so that was great to see. Parker Washington, very involved, showed that last year was not a fluke. Lad McConkey showed that he is the number one guy for the Chargers offense now that with McDaniels there. and then Debo Samuel was really involved, and I I think it's gonna basically be like that all year. If Amanda: Mm-hmm. Drew: you look at the forty nineers game, they have a lot of talent. And a lot of older players. So CMC, Kittle, Evans, Samuel, they all looked good, but they're all old and they all have injury concerns and injury history. From what I saw, I think that it's just gonna be a lot of you're gonna get six touches, you're gonna get six touches, you're gonna get, you know, Evans, you're gonna get targeted ten times. They're gonna spread the ball around. They rotated receivers a lot, they rotated running Amanda: A lot. Drew: backs a lot, they rotated tight ends. I think the whole game plan is We're gonna play a lot more people than maybe the fantasy community wants us to play, but we're gonna be healthy by the time or as healthy as possible by the time the playoffs come. Cause if they're healthy, that team looks like the Super Bowl favorite right now. They just absolutely demolish Amanda: Yeah. Drew: the Rams. Amanda: Yeah, taking a page out of that like split backfield of like you might have an elite running back on your team, but they hold like Kenneth Walker last year. They held him back a lot and people were pissed, right? He's more productive. Play him, play him, play him. But he did stay healthy until the Super Bowl and then they won the Super Bowl. So if they can keep these guys healthy into playoff season, yeah, sure they'll fire him up more then, but they can't win if they don't get him there, right? Drew: Absolutely. All right, let's get to the tight ends. Tight ends, top performances. Look, it's the tight end position. We don't expect as much. Ten points or more from the tight end position will get you on the list. Isaiah Likely, my goodness. Go off. Amanda: What up? What up? Drew: Welcome to being the tight end one in your first game as the tight end one, no Mark Andrews, and you tell the entire world that I am him. Dallas Goddard. Confirming our offseason priors that he is the red zone target. Trey McBride doing Trey McBride things. Sticky Gasicki, Mike Gasicki from the Bengals showing that there's some involvement there. Dalton Kincaid had a pretty good game. We'll see when he gets hurt. it's bound to happen at some point. So I've got priors on Dalton Kincaid. It just makes me so upset that he get hurt as much as he used to. Pat Fryermouth scored a touchdown, great. Juwan Johnson scored a touchdown, fantastic. Hawkinson scored a touchdown, fantastic. Noah Fant, Cole Komet scored touchdowns, fantastic. So this is pretty much what you're gonna see weekly is you'll have a few guys at the top that should be there, and then just a bunch of dudes that happen to catch a touchdown. that's what's gonna make up the tight end list, which is also why we say outside of the very top the very top end, the rest of them are kind of just thrown in a a giant, you know, bundle together, and you just hope you stream the right the right one that week. Amanda: Yeah, absolutely. You know what I had someone ask me on socials is should they trade Saquon Barkley for Dallas Goddard? I I already have my reaction in which I already told her about, but give me your feedback on that. Drew: I mean, do they have six other starting running backs on their roster and Barclays just sitting there? Then no. That's ridiculous. Amanda: No. Negative Ghost Rider. Negative. Yeah. I was like, no, absolutely not. Unless you're gonna get Dallas Gottered and something else. But no. Drew: If I could get Goddard and Goddard and Amanda: Jameson Williams? Is that out of touch? Okay. You didn't have the depth, yeah. Drew: No, I'd want a running back back. Assuming that assuming that you need a running back back. And most of the time that you're getting rid of a a running back that's like a Saquon, you need to replace him. Goddard and David Montgomery, would you do that? Amanda: Yeah, I would. Drew: again, it depends on the tight end that I had with Barkley. Like if I had Saqu if you had Saquon Barkley and I don't know Kyle Pitts, would you trade for Dallas Goddard and David Montgomery? Hmm. Amanda: I would. Yeah. That's it wouldn't bother me at all. I'm yeah, that doesn't scare me. Drew: All right, let's get into the disappointments of the week. All right, this is for all of the positions. It is players that scored five points or fewer than their projected points. So people that really didn't live up to what they were supposed to. anything below five points and they're actively hurting your team. so the big name on here, Kyler Murray, Sam Darnold, they got hurt, you know. Sucks, Amanda: Early. Drew: but it is what it is. Matt Stafford. Putting up a whopping five point one points. Have you a day, Matt Stafford? He looked terrible. I mean, he was just missing wide open guys. Yeah, maybe don't fly out Amanda: Maybe we should have gotten to Australia a little bit earlier, guys. I don't know. Drew: twenty-four hours before a game in another country that's halfway around the world and hope that it just works out. Amanda: Not the vibe. Drew: all right, some other names on here. Baker Mayfield, eleven point six, Drake May, twelve points. Joe Burrow, fifteen points. Justin Herbert fourteen, Dak Prescott fifteen, Jared Goff sixteen, Gino and Daniel Jones are on here, but they I they probably weren't started very many places. So Amanda: Irrelevant. Drew: out of those quarterbacks, who are you most concerned about moving forward? Amanda: Gosh. Honestly, no one aggressively stands out to me if I'm being very honest. I think there's a lot of situational stuff where like Mass Staff was in a whole ass different country. Like I'm I'm not I I I'm gonna give it time. I'm gonna pump my brakes on it. I'm not worried about Joe Burr or I if I'm being honest, I'm not worried about Drake May. Give him another week. Like settle in. Sit down, settle in. honestly, I'm not worried about any of them. I no one is scaring me to a level where I'm gonna be hyperbolic about it. I think I need to see more time. The only person that like I personally like a Jared Goff, a pocket passer. Yes, he has a great offensive around him. They obviously showed us they're gonna use the ever living shit out of Gibbs. I think he's a situational matchup start, but he's not an every week start for me. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Drew: He's a str he he's a streamer anyway. So, you know, I I'm not sixteen points from Jared Goff's not that bad. Amanda: No. Drew: you know, most of the guys on this list are streaming quarterbacks. Amanda: Correct. Drew: Joe Burrow's defen the Bengals defense just happened to play out of their minds for most of the game. And quite frankly, a lot of that had to do with Baker being real loosey goosey with the football. That's also why Baker's on this list, because like He actually played pretty well. He just turned the ball over three times, like he was a bit loosey goosey. Amanda: Baker Man. Drew: You know, tucked the football. Same thing for Deshaun Watson's, but you know, whatever. Both Browns quarterbacks, you know. you know, Drake May, not worried about him, don't overreact. Joe Burrow, don't overreact. The one is Matt Stafford. I I think it confirms that my priors. I don't think Matt Stafford is every we every every year or every week starter. Amanda: Every we no, I don't disagree that I I don't think Matt Stafford's an auto start. And I I I agree with that moving into the season. I it obviously his age scares me. it's a frightening situation of how old he is and and his his injuries risk already. No, I agree that I don't think he's a a week to week starter. Like a Joe Burrow or Drake May, I'm gonna hold out, I'm gonna keep starting them and I'm gonna wait on it. Matt Stafford, I'm gonna look up matchups and if he has a shit matchup, I'm not gonna take a shot on that. I'm gonna take a shot on somebody else. Yeah. Drew: Yeah. All right. At the running back position, we've got Marion Hampton, eight point three. Kenny Gainwell, two points. Rico, three points. Marshawn Lloyd, three points. Saquon Barkley, eight and a half. Devon Achan, eight and a half. Called that one. Tony Amanda: Sure. Drew: Pollard, four points. Craud, barely involved. Chris Rodriguez, two points. James Cook disappointing week eight point four. Quinshaw Junkins six. CMC eleven point three. Rashad White three point seven. Jadarian Price seven points. What jumps out the page there for you? Amanda: Ooh my goodness. I mean, obviously, you know, Javan Devonnie Chan is is a sad one. Again, I I'm not gonna go hyperbolic who drafted him to play him, but I think obviously w we're looking at like a Marshawn Lloyd, you know, is he really going to be productive in that run game? We touched on it already. It doesn't look great for those running backs, not something I'm super interested in and taking a shot on moving forward unless the matchup is so good that I would be able to warrant it. Obvious obviously usage from a Some of these accessory guys, usage from Kenny Gainwell, usage from Rico Dowdle, we just didn't see them used as much as I think we all had anticipated, which was take note of, right? Those are the things like besides just what these guys scored, you want to look at their usage in the offense. I think that's a big point for a lot of us is we can look at what they score last week. Should I sit them or should I start them? No, you want to look deeper than that. Like, how much were they actually used? We'll go Judarian Price. It looks like they are committed to a fifty fifty split backfield. Drew: Yeah. That's a problem. That's a real problem. Amanda: And like a prop 'cause like who was more productive? This last year? Kenneth Walker. Who was more productive? Janarian Price Drew: Kenneth Walker and they still gave the ball to Charbonnet. Amanda: looked sick on the field. You were like, give me more. Drew: Five point two a carry in your first NFL game is very good. He looked Amanda: Yeah! Drew: strong, he looked good, he looked quick, he looked fast, he made good cuts, and they are just dead set on not giving the ball to one guy who is clearly better than the other player. George Halani should not have gotten more than a touch or two in that football game. There's no reason to put him in the game for Jared Aaron Price. Just like there was no reason to put Charbonnet in the game for Kenneth Walker, other than a short spell here and again. Like there's no reason it's not a at worst seventy to thirty split being Judarian price as the seventy percent. And instead we're gonna fuck around with the forty percent price, forty percent halani, and twenty percent or ten percent somebody else, like forty five, forty five, ten. Like what are we doing? Just give the man the ball. But it worked. And they won the Super Bowl last year, and it's super frustrating for fantasy, but look, they're gonna keep doing it. They're they just they're Amanda: Absolutely. Drew: It's worked for and they're just gonna keep doing it. Amanda: It's a successful recipe for sure. All right, let's Drew: Yeah. Amanda: move on to our wide receiver disappointments of the week. Again, five points below their projection. clutch your pearls. Jamar Chase with a whopping 2.2. George Pickens, 4.3. Drake London, 4.5. AJ Brown, obviously, injury, 4.1. Another goose egg offender of Jordan Addison, which is Sad. Scary Terry scared himself this week, 2.4. Romeo Dubbs couldn't catch shit if he tried. 0.0. Devontae Adams, 4.1. Makai Lemon with one whopping point. Quentin Johnston, 2.7. Juwan Jennings, 0. Some other guys who you might have actually started. Devontae Smith with only 6.8 points. Marvin Harrison Jr., 3.8. Jamison Williams, again, I can't catch shit. Jamison Williams, six point five, T. Higgins, seven point four. Puka Nakua, nine point nine. Some big heavy hitters on that list. Rome, yeah. Three. Drew: Ro Rome Rome with six and Jaden Reed with three as well. Yeah. lot of guys didn't show up this week that should be showing up. I not you know, some of these guys Jaden Reed, seven targets, just didn't connect, very involved. Rome, we'll talk about the Bear situation later, not worried about that. George, Jamar, you know, not worried about that. AJ got hurt, Devontae Adams That was more of a Matt Stafford problem in my opinion. Romeo Dubbs, I would I would have said after that game or during the game, to j bye. Goodbye. I'm done. You're out. Nope. I don't want you anymore. Unfortunately Amanda: I yeah. Drew: with the AJ Brown injury, he he's gotta be involved. So Amanda: Y well, I talked like I was even thinking, like, God, move the fuck on like as a fantasy player, but then I'm sitting there like, How do you do that when you just saw their wide receiver one go down? Who are they gonna Drew: Yep. Amanda: throw the ball to? Drew: Same thing with Rashad Bateman. I would you're done. I would I'd drop him immediately because Flowers one, he's the main guy. You can see that. And two, Jacoby Lane looked good. He got open and then he got hurt. So Bateman's gonna have to play and probably be a a pretty big role for them for a at least a week or two. We'll see how long Amanda: Yeah, yeah. Drew: some of these guys are out. all right, now down to the tight ends. We already talked about the absolute dumpster fire that was Colson Loveland and Kyle Pitts this week, goose egging everyone. Jake Ferguson, not involved. Again, I've said it time and time again, if Pickens and CeeDee Lamb are active, don't play Ferguson. He's just not good. And if and if he burns you and goes off one time while they're both out there, okay, I'm willing to let that happen. But he he's almost never been a good start. When both of those two players are healthy. Harold Fannon and George Kittle also scoring under three points. Harold Fannon. What? Amanda: Yeah. The quarterback issue is is alarmingly scary actually. It's overwhelmingly scary. You you y you spent a lot of draft cow again, mid round tight end. You drafted him in the sixth round. And to let him go after week one and to move on again, I think what w what we most worry about is like, I'm gonna move over to Mike Gasicki. And you're like, Okay, well, there's multiple tight ends for for Cincinnati. That was sicki Gasicki's week. Are they gonna use another tight end? Is he gonna be that relevant in the offense? No, I don't believe so. Harold Fannon, they they don't have a lot of other options in their wide receiver room. You would assume they continue to use him in as an offensive weapon because he's so powerful. I think you gotta sit on your hands and fucking, you know, eat the shit that's dealt. Don't overreact. Yeah. Correct. Drew: Yeah. Just don't react after w yeah. Don't don't react after one week. React after two weeks, right? So like if if some of these guys are just not involved for a second week in a row, go ahead and move on. The only player Amanda: Yeah. Drew: out of these five that I'm like, you know what? I'm done right now would be Ferguson. But I wouldn't have had him starting anyway, so you know, whatever, but Amanda: Yeah. In this, that was your emergency tight end pickup because Bowers went down. Shift him out Drew: Yeah, y of course. Amanda: this week. But yeah, no, absolutely. All right. Well, those are our top performances and disappointments for the week. We're gonna move into our fact or fiction segment. So we're gonna kind of go back and forth here. Drew's gonna ask me a question. I'm gonna ask Drew a question and we're gonna talk about is this fact? Is this fiction? Is this something you should believe, or maybe you should just not go down the hype rabbit hole or Worry that whatever, fact or fiction, you get the fucking point. All right, let's start with Falcons. Falcons options outside of Bijan, do you think these should be moved on from? So we're talking guys like London and Pitts. Everyone but Bijon, do you think they should move on from them from a fantasy football audience? Drew: Is that fact or fiction? Amanda: Is that fact or fiction? Drew: That is a fact. Get rid of them. I don't mean drop them because obviously Drake London's too valuable to drop. And Kyle Pitts, although he's worthless, in my opinion, you can still get trade value from him. Look, I'm done. I'm ready to move on. I didn't like their quarterback situation to go into the year. I like it even less now that Tua is already hurt again and Penix is hurt. And both of them have been so bad in camp and in the preseason that They're literally giving the job back and forth to each other. There has been nothing but negativity coming out of Atlanta in their quarterback situation. So I don't want any part of them. I'm I'm taking London and I'm trying to ship him off right now. and same for Pitts. I I'm j I'm trying to move on. I don't know if you'll be able to for anything that's not a ridiculous offer. Like, look, I'm not gonna trade Drake London for a mid-tier receiver. I'm not going to get Quentin Johnston for Drake London or anything like that. But like, look, I I'm I'm trying to find ways to move on from him to players that I like that are in the in the relative same realm as him, or pairing him with another player and getting somebody that's, you know, in that same area. So like maybe I could get, if we look back at the disappointments list, like, could I get George Pickens for Drake London straight up? I'm gonna try that. Could I go out and try to do a who else had a bad week? A T. Higgins. If I could do Amanda: C Drew: if I could do T straight, I would do it. But I would probably start with like a, hey, let me offer them Drake London for T Higgins and somebody that has value. So I'm gonna try to get two for his one. then I'm gonna go for that one. So I will go fact on that one. So Amanda. Amanda: All right. Drew: My question for you now is as soon as I find it, all right. Devon A Chan is not going to finish as a top twelve running back this season. Fact or fiction? Amanda: It's fucking fiction, okay? I know they looked shitty. I Drew: Boo. Amanda: know, I know. Listen, I know they look shitty week one. Give Malik Willis a minute. Let him adjust into the offense. I don't think they're going to be absolute shit all year. Give them a chance to connect. Give the offense a chance to get heated up. And I say hold tight and trust the fucking plot on Devon A Chan. He's an elite running back. He's gonna stay elite in that offense. I am not worried about it. I'm not worried about it, okay? I believe that they will get heated up and be able to take over and he will end as a top 12 running back this year. And you'll be really fucking glad that you didn't full ship on one shitty week. I know the offense is sketchy, but to me, the Miami offense is way more exciting than the Falcons' offense of the only B. John Robinson show. And at some point, if your offense is so ineffective, like the Falcons end it will end up being, What are they gonna scheme against? B. John fucking Robinson. Well, in my opinion, Miami has enough potential there. There's some rookies, there's some talent there. Malik Willis isn't shit. He isn't a complete booty hole quarterback. Give him a minute, let that offense get going, and Devon A. Chan will move back up in those rankings. All right, my next one for you. CMC is done as an elite fantasy option, fact or fiction. Drew: Absolute fiction. Look, we've already mentioned it earlier. They've got a lot of older players. They want to be healthy for the playoffs. They are going to utilize a lot more players than what you're used to in the past. That doesn't mean he's not an elite option. They were playing the Rams. The Rams have a very good defense, have a very good front seven, which that's hard to run against, right? Kalon Black will be used. All right. Calon Black had 43% snap share. I'm expecting it to stay about 40%. If the game is closer, CMC will have more of the snap share. So if it's a close one score game, you're gonna see it more 70 30 in CMC. If the game's a couple scores ahead, they're just being smart. You're gonna see it closer to 50 50. They're not gonna run CMC into the ground. But he also still involved in the receive receiving game. Five receptions for 20 yards. Still had Ten carries on the ground, 68 yards, 6.8 yards of carry is fantastic. Look, he didn't get in the end zone. All right. One touchdown takes him up into the high teens, right? One touchdown, he scores 17 points. You're gonna be happy with it. That's still elite production. He didn't score for one week. It's gonna be okay. Amanda: Yeah, he was also a little tight. He's dealing with some tightness, okay? I'm not worried about him either. I think he'll be great. Drew: All right, last one here. Amanda Bryce Young is now a weekly starter in fantasy football, fact or fiction. Amanda: Hmm, I'm gonna go with fiction. Don't let Bryce Young fool you just yet. Here's how I feel about it. I've got a little warm and fuzzy. I'm watching the Panthers and I'm like, hmm, I'm a little warm and fuzzy on the inside right now. I'm excited, right? But I am not catching feelings yet. No, thank you. I'm not catching feelings until I see Bryce Young string together a couple weeks of consistency because he did this shit to us last year. He'll dupe us. Right? It's a catfish of all catfishes. I'm like, don't you I will not get catfished by Bryce Young. But yes, I'm starting to get a little bit like, huh, that offense looks a little more competent than I thought they were going to. And I'm excited about obviously the options that we have there and the potential that that has for fantasy output. However, I'm gonna wait to see a little bit more time from Bryce Young's before I allow myself to get in a formal situationship with the man. Cool, cool fiction for right now, but I'm hopeful. I'm hopeful that maybe that can become factual data from there. All right. Moving on to our next segment, we are talking budding romances and people we are officially signing divorce papers with. Okay, we're done. We're done. It's over. So let's get into some guys. We are in a little bit of a budding romance with Drew. Who are you? Who are you feeling after week one? Drew: All right. The butting romance I have this week is going to be Ben Johnson and the entire Bears offense. Ben Johnson specifically, because love that man. Amanda: you gotta catch fe you catch some feelings for him, yeah. Drew: Look, 59 points. He said at the beginning of the year he's trying to break the offensive scoring record this year. He wants to score the most points in NFL history. Love to hear that. Not only from an offensive coach, not only from a coordinator, but the head coach, right? He controls all of it. If he wants to run the score up, he will run the score up. And guess what? He did. All right. Caleb Williams, 37.3 points in fantasy. DeAndre Swift, 30 plus points. Kyle Manung guy, almost 20 points. 59 points total scored, 552 yards. And you know what the best part of all of that is? Their defense was atrocious. They gave up 37 points and 478 yards of offense to the Carolina Panthers, led by none other than four foot eleven Bryce Young, who has looked mostly terrible in his career. Look, he's had some games. He played better last year. He had a good game this year, but let's just pump the brakes. Like you said earlier, he's not an elite quarterback. At least we don't think he is. They gave up a ton of points to them. So do me a favor. And see Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys over the last two seasons when their offenses were elite and their defense was trash. This makes for great fantasy options. And for those of you that are out there saying, Yeah, but Colson Loveland gave me zero points, or Roma Dunze, he didn't play very well, or Luther Burden only got me nine points. Guys, calm down. One week, it just so happened that Caleb Williams ran a lot more. Manangai broke a ninety yard run. DeAndre Swift literally couldn't be stopped. That's not going to be the case every week. But what is going to be the case is the Bears are going to put points up every week. So don't overreact to the players not playing well. Look at the overall team production. Just be excited and jump on board. So that is my butting romance. Amanda, who's your butting romance? Amanda: I am in a slight budding romance with none other than Matthew Golden himself. I every time he caught the ball, I was like, gonna be gonna be Golden, baby. He's coming in. And I I was excited because obviously, yes, he's a little bit lower on that depth or not depth chart, but he was wide receiver 20 on the week. However, what really caught my eye was the twelve targets he received in this game. I noticed just a little bit of maybe frustration from the Jaden Reed side of things, and I think that Matthew Golden is gonna become a clear target. For Jordan Love this year. overall, with a struggling ground game that we've already talked about for a Green Bay, that means there's going to be more scoring opportunities for the pass game. And Golden did well. He caught six out of twelve. So twel targeted twelve times he caught so he had six receptions, which that's a good, good rate for that. I'm super duper excited. I I'm excited by that team in general because of the passing opportunity, and hopefully Jordan Love can stay healthy and elite. And if for some reason, we know Christian Watson, I don't want him to get hurt, but He's injury prone. And if he does go down, that only elevates Golden into that offense even further. He's already shown he can hold down the four year number two. So I'm catching some feelings for Matthew Golden early in the year, and I'm excited for his prospects as the year goes on. Drew: Very good. All right. Speaking of, so that was butting romances. So now into the divorce papers. These are the players that we are calling our lawyers on because we are ready for the breakup to be official. We don't want them on our teams anymore, either dropping them or trading them. Now, again, this is week one. So don't overreact to everybody. But, Amanda, if there was one player that you're like, you know what? I've had enough. I didn't he's he's caused me too much pain in years prior, and then week one just reaffirmed. I can't handle the heartache anymore. Who is that one player? Amanda: The candyman himself, DK Metcalf. Drew: Mm-hmm. Amanda: I'm I'm done. I'm done. Listen, I'm not dropping DK Metcalf. I'm gonna be very clear to everyone. This does not mean I go over and say, bye bye, drop. He has a big name. I think you can get some decent trade value for him. but I I'm I'm done. I'm over it. I I was so, as a Steelers fan, I was frustrated by this guy who we brought in, and everyone was so excited about having big. Big D DK Metcalf and the offense, and he's gonna be so good. Year one was a gigantic fucking bust. It was a letdown of all letdowns. The offense was as boring as watching paint fucking dry. And this week one we see come in where homie can't catch a fucking football. It nothing's working. He can't catch, he can't make contested catches. That was disappointing. He had offensive pass interference on like every fucking play. I was like, dude, you can't like. Tell me you're slow and can't create separation without telling me. Like, what are you doing? Yes. And then he's like, what? Drew: He was shoving kids to the ground every play. Amanda: And I'm like, you you can't do that. That's against the rules, damn it. And it just doesn't seem like him and Rogers connect. Also, A Aaron Rodgers is old. I don't know about you, but as I've gotten older, you know what my temperament has has gotten worse and worse and worse and worse. So I can only imagine Aaron Rodgers is older than us. Like his temperament's gotta be like, dude, fuck you. Fuck you. And you know Drew: He started Amanda: who? He targeted the shit out of Roman Wilson. Mm-hmm. Drew: Roman Roman Wilson. Mm-hmm. Amanda: And there's only so long that Aaron Roger's gonna be like, you know what? If you can't fucking catch it, I'll find another receiver who can and I will move the fuck on, right? I'm out. I'm out. Paper, sign him, let's go. Drew: All right, my player this week that I am serving divorce papers to is gonna be Marvin Harrison Jr. And you know what? I'm not mad. I'm just disappointed. Marv just thought you were gonna be better. And the fact that you are the fourth target in your offense behind a great Trey McBride, fine. Michael Wilson shouldn't be. But okay. But absolutely in no world whatsoever should Kendrick Bourne be out targeting you. Get open, demand the football, do something. You were drafted in the top ten of the NFL. Act like it. I don't know. I don't know if it's him. I don't know if Jacoby doesn't like him, doesn't want to throw him the ball. I don't know if it was the game and the scheme and the I I look, I don't know. Arizona put up points and they beat the Chargers and Marv did nothing. I had him all last year, time and time again, just absolutely disappointed in him. And then he'd come back and he'd have one really good game and you're feeling like, yes, you know what? We went to counseling. Everything's gonna be alright. And then you fucking screwed me again and again and again, and I just can't do it again. So I'm gonna take his name and hope that I can find somebody in my league that still has. That belief that Marvin Harrison can be what he was drafted to be is just not gonna be for me. So I'm out. Amanda: Yeah. Yep. You know what they say, fool me once, fool me twice. No, I'm done. You fooled me again, bro, and I'm out. yeah, Jacoby, man, hey he looks good though. That offense didn't look nearly as shitty as we thought they were gonna look. All right, let's move into injury news and updates because unfortunately there is some stuff to talk about. We can start with our earliest injury. Well, besides Drew: Yeah. Amanda: Brock Bowers, that is. before the the season even kicked off, we can go AJ Brown. So give me kind of thoughts on what's going on here. Yeah. Drew: Yeah, we'll go Yeah, we'll go quickly through some of these injury players. Look, AJ Brown's out. He's gonna be out for at least four weeks. I would expect it to be a little bit longer. from the reports that I've seen, I think it's looking more like six weeks. at least. So he's on the IR, that means he's out at least four. If you have an IR spot, put him in your IR spot. if you don't have an IR spot, I I I would drop him. I don't think that I look, if he's out six more weeks. You're halfway through the fantasy season. Unless look, unless you are really good team and you think you can survive it, then keep him on your bench. But like when bye weeks start coming up, if you need to drop him and it doesn't look like he's coming back, I like I think you're okay to do it. Cause that's a tough injury. but I'm not looking to drop him, but it's just gonna be really hard not to. Zay Flowers pulled his hamstring. He was already dealing with it in the preseason. Sucks. We don't have any news yet. obviously it's too early for practice reports to come out as we are recording this on Monday afternoon. so keep an eye out on that. Jacoby Lane, also from the Ravens, rookie receiver who looked really good. he's gonna miss multiple weeks, maybe a month with a fractured wrist. So basically what it looks like here is Bateman probably needs picked up for at least one week, even though he did nothing last week. Lad McConkey hurt his chest. don't have a definitive timetable. week two participation is still up in the air. hope he plays because he was super involved. Kyler Murray concussion got absolutely destroyed. we'll see if he plays next week. Amanda: That was scary. Drew: If not, Carson look, Kyler Murray probably wasn't started by a lot of you guys. obviously you won't start him if he's out. Don't pick up Carson Wentz and play him. I don't think that that's a good option. Sam Darnold. Amanda: I'd go like if I needed a emergency quarterback, I think someone like it but depending on who, god, Brissett's playing. Like Brissett did not look in as an incompetent streaming quarterback if needed. Drew: Yep. and then again for all those w the waivers, we're gonna have a little bit of waivers coming up, but any of the full waivers like quarterback streams of the week or anything like that, get on our Patreon. We will do our we will do our full rankings that we will post on our Patreon. So you'll be able to get some help on that one and that will be posted on Tuesday. So when this podcast is out, the rankings should be up and ready to go for you guys to look at. Sam Darnold got hurt. We still don't know how long he'll be out for, but we're expecting probably four to six weeks. Drew Locke looked like he is gonna be competent for JSN and Amanda: No, say say say something funny. Say Drew's got it on lock, baby. Drew: Hate it. Nope. DeJon Stribling, he's out. he'll be out at least a month. Go ahead and drop him. Chickaconquo, hamstring injury, probably wasn't started by you guys anyway. Brock Bowers, a game or two. Just look at the reports. Now they're coming out and saying, he might play next week. I I don't know. Tua probably wasn't started by you guys, and we already talked about the Falcon situation earlier. So, you know, not a lot of new things that we talked about. Some situations with the the you know, will be impacted, but we discussed a lot of that earlier and again for our full waivers, check out that Patreon. But we do have some waivers to talk about now, don't we, Miss Amanda? Amanda: We sure do. A little early waiver wire talk, and we've kind of aired on this already, and and again Drew said full ranking. Full waiver wire rankings will be on our Patreon. But a few guys that stand out aggressively are is Devon Vale. I mean, again, nine targets, seven receptions, sixty nine yards, one touchdown. He was on the field for ninety one percent of the snaps, and he's only twenty three percent rostered. So he's not rostered by a ton of people. He's probably out there for you. Obviously, I know most of the girls that I talked to last year anyways, we did just a traditional waiver wire, right? Like, you know, in order, first to twelve, you put in your bids. But talk to me a little bit about fab. If you are talking to someone who uses fab for waiver wire and you're looking at someone like a Devon Vale after week one, your wide receiver room's a little thin. How much are you offering for this player in that realm? Drew: Probably fifty percent of my fab. Amanda: Fifty percent of your fab. Okay, I was curious. Drew: Mm-hmm. Amanda: I've actually never operated in fab before. I'm in a league this year that operates in fab. And I was like, shit. I I'm a I you know, I'm a girl math girl. I'm like, full cent baby, and I'll spend all my money right away. I don't wanna be Drew: Yeah. Look there there's different There's different thoughts, schools of thought on fab, on should you dump it early or should you wait and keep it for the end of the season. You're gonna get the most value by getting good players early because you're gonna have most the most time with them, but that doesn't mean spend a lot early for players that you shouldn't be spending a lot on. So, like a Kalon Black, I'm not going out and spending fifty percent of my fab. Because he had a good week one and I'm gonna get sixteen more games out of him. No, don't do that. That's dumb. Don't spend that much on a backup running back that is not unless McCaffrey gets hurt, you sh it shouldn't be a massive fab dump for Kalen Black. Devon Devon Vele was on the field almost the entire game. He was targeted a lot, he looked really good, and there's not gonna be any other target competition coming his way for quite some time. Jordan Tyson's going to be out for at least another month and a half. And by that time, a rookie coming in, trying to take snaps away from, you know, if Devon Vale plays like this the rest of the next two months, even if he doesn't put up this ridiculous of numbers, but if he's this productive, the dude's gonna be on the field. And I would expect Jordan Tyson to probably be the third target when he comes back for the remainder of the season. Until, you know, who knows if he's gonna be healthy? He's gotta. Look, I I'm j I love Devon Vele. I think it's a really good option. I would be a fifty percent of my fab for a guy like that. I would also give a good amount of fab for the next guy, probably thirty to forty percent. Caleb Douglas, wide receiver from Miami, seven targets, five receptions, ninety four yards, ninety one percent snap percentage. Amanda: That's the number. Drew: That's huge, right? So what what are your thoughts on Caleb Douglas? Amanda: Yeah, no, I I was excited to see how the Miami wide receiver room shook out, see where where snap counts lived and who was heavily targeted. again, Malik Willis didn't look too shabby. give him a little bit of time to develop. No, I I I like the option of Caleb Douglas. I also think that them seeing him be productive in an NFL game. I know he was coming off of an injury from college, I believe, which kind of that wasn't Caleb Douglas. That was the other one. Kiss Chris Bell. Drew: No, that was No, that was Chris Bell. Yeah, Caleb Douglas was their top receiver that they drafted. Most Amanda: Hi. Drew: people believe that Chris Bell is the better receiver because he would have been a first round player had he not gotten injured last year. But they drafted Caleb Amanda: Shit. Drew: Douglas ahead of him and he he looked good. And look, look, Amanda: Good. Drew: Miami's offense did not look great, but they moved the football. Malik Willis Amanda: They did. Drew: threw for enough yards to make people fantasy relevant. And we always said shoot your shot. Someone's gonna come out of this, right? Why not i i he's twenty two percent rostered, why not shoot your shot on a guy that got seven targets on ninety one percent snapshare, right? Amanda: Mm-hmm. No, I agree. It was an intriguing situation to watch. So, Drew: Couple others that we got on here. Amanda: yeah, Dontavian Wicks, ninety-one percent snap share, only four targets. So like it's a manager expectations moment. In my opinion, that's not someone that like I'm as excited to shoot my shot on personally. same thing with Jalen Coker. I mean, most everyone is seeing stars in their eyes, big fucking numbers, big fantasy football week. it which usually drives a lot of waiver wire pickups. Again, shitty Bears defense. Are we getting catfished by Bryce Young? Put him against a competent defense. Is that gonna be a different story? Probably so like Drew: Jalen Coker's probably my number two pickup outside of Devon Bailey. Amanda: Okay. Drew: He's had a good career when he's been healthy. He got hurt last year. He was playing well. He's probably my number two. I would take him definitely over Wicks, and then probably over Caleb Douglas because I believe in the Panthers offense more than I do the Dolphins offense. but anyway, he's gonna be there. couple running backs, Kalen Black. Look, he needs to be rostered. I don't think it's a fab dump. I think it's more of a priority for the CMC manager, but forty-three percent snapshare means that he'll be involved. He is not a guy that you're gonna pick up to play. He's a guy that needs to be picked up because he's involved enough and he showed that he's good enough that if CMC gets hurt, Amanda: You look good. Drew: he will be the guy that takes over. So that's one of those situations where you hold on to the backup because he will be the clear guy that gets all the work. he's he was good enough to be that guy. The other one, if you need a running back to start's Tyler Algier. Tyler Adier had seventeen carries, fifty-nine percent snap share, and he's only sixty-five percent rostered. If he's sitting on the waivers, he he needs to be added to rosters, especially if you need running back help. He's gonna be involved, and he's gonna be involved all year long. He's gonna get plenty of carries. So it's gonna look ugly, it's gonna be gross, it's gonna be very Charbonnet esque, but it's valuable and if he scores a touchdown, it's worth it. So those are the Amanda: Yeah. I mean, that's Tyler Augier's whole MO. Even Drew: Yeah. Amanda: with B behind Bijan, he was still playable. People are like, should I play Augier?
